- 0:12Speaker 3: Don't given them.
- 0:15Speaker 1: Back a million bus bussy.
- 0:22Speaker 4: More listening to to Joy? Yeah, Joy, you got to
- 0:59Speaker 4: do that.
- 1:24Speaker 5: You gotta turn.
- 1:31Speaker 6: I can't.
- 1:41Speaker 7: Got to turn the mouth turn.
- 1:43Speaker 8: You probably got to turn the mouth turn a wad
- 1:47Speaker 8: of the morning up looks. Come come on, you'll think that.
- 2:01Speaker 1: Uh huh, I sure will come on and everybody you
- 2:05Speaker 1: are listening to the voice, come on, dig me now,
- 2:09Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show.
- 2:13Speaker 9: Well, okay, here we go.
- 2:18Speaker 1: You know what's important, What's what can be a huge
- 2:22Speaker 1: part of your success is if you if you find
- 2:26Speaker 1: a balance, if you find a balance in your life.
- 2:32Speaker 1: That's that's been very important for me. And I've really
- 2:35Speaker 1: never phrased it this way until now, but I was
- 2:39Speaker 1: kind of thinking about it after my wife and I
- 2:42Speaker 1: mean we set up one night recently. Man. You know,
- 2:45Speaker 1: I often come on here and this is kind of
- 2:47Speaker 1: an inspirational moment of the show, and I try to
- 2:50Speaker 1: remind people about that most important relationship between you and God.
- 2:55Speaker 1: And that's that's the apex of it. That's that's the
- 2:58Speaker 1: that's the top of the crown. You've got to form
- 3:01Speaker 1: the relationship with God. If you don't, everything else struggles.
- 3:05Speaker 1: It's hard to be a good husband without God. It's
- 3:07Speaker 1: hard to be a good family man without God. It's
- 3:10Speaker 1: hard to be successful without God. Man, it's hard to
- 3:13Speaker 1: be hard to get through this thing called life without God.
- 3:16Speaker 9: So that's clear.
- 3:18Speaker 1: But at the same time, you can't talk about God.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Twenty four seven. You got to go to work. Come on, man,
- 3:25Speaker 1: let's just be real. I ain't doing I ain't your pastor,
- 3:27Speaker 1: and I ain't at your church. But let's just be
- 3:30Speaker 1: real about it. You know, if people tell you got
- 3:33Speaker 1: to keep your mind stayed on Him and all like that,
- 3:35Speaker 1: that's a true statement.
- 3:37Speaker 9: Got to keep your mind stayed in that area.
- 3:39Speaker 1: I Don't'm not here to tell you how to live,
- 3:40Speaker 1: but you got to keep your mind stayed in that
- 3:42Speaker 1: area of God, of doing the right thing, caring about people.
- 3:45Speaker 1: That's what I took it as. Now I could be wrong.
- 3:47Speaker 1: I apologize if I'm not saying it the way you've
- 3:50Speaker 1: been taught. I can only do me now. But after that,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you got to go to work. You got to have
- 3:56Speaker 1: some fun. You got to take care of your business.
- 4:00Speaker 1: And that's the balance you have to find. So it
- 4:04Speaker 1: once you focus on showing up your relationship with God,
- 4:09Speaker 1: you gotta balance this now. Now, you got to allocate
- 4:15Speaker 1: some time I don't care who you are, for your family.
- 4:18Speaker 1: If you're gonna have a family, you got to allocate
- 4:21Speaker 1: some time for them. See, we can't just marry these
- 4:24Speaker 1: women or make these kids and then neglect them. And fellas,
- 4:29Speaker 1: especially if I'm talking to men out here and ladies
- 4:32Speaker 1: you can listen to, but listen, if you find yourself
- 4:34Speaker 1: struggling in your life, man, and you can't seem to
- 4:37Speaker 1: get it together, Let's just go over a couple of things.
- 4:40Speaker 1: The first two things, if you find yourself struggling, you
- 4:43Speaker 1: can't seem to pull it together and reach your goals
- 4:45Speaker 1: and get the where you want to go.
- 4:48Speaker 9: Let's just do a.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Check how is your relationship with God? And then next
- 4:55Speaker 1: how much time are you taking to allocate for your family? Now,
- 5:00Speaker 1: your family don't always live in your house, but if
- 5:04Speaker 1: you made them, they yours and the responsibility to them
- 5:08Speaker 1: is never lessen because you don't stay that no more.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Because you and the girl broke up, you and a
- 5:14Speaker 1: woman don't speak that hey man, that don't ever release
- 5:17Speaker 1: you from the obligation. Feel me what I'm telling you
- 5:20Speaker 1: this now because I'm not telling you something I'm wondering about.
- 5:24Speaker 1: I've had to live through them years. So two things
- 5:28Speaker 1: you can start looking at. If you're not where you
- 5:30Speaker 1: want to be, and you ain't, you ain't really silent.
- 5:32Speaker 1: You can't figure out why you keep spending your wheels.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Have you just done a random inventory? Man? Have you
- 5:37Speaker 1: just checked on your relationship with God? Have you checked
- 5:40Speaker 1: on the time you spending dedicated towards your family, your
- 5:44Speaker 1: children that you created? If them two things is out
- 5:47Speaker 1: of sink, man, that I can tell you right now,
- 5:50Speaker 1: you can go on and get to explaining yourself away
- 5:52Speaker 1: just like that. Hey man, how come you ain't where
- 5:55Speaker 1: you want to be?
- 5:56Speaker 6: Man?
- 5:56Speaker 9: Comes man, I really ain't. Well, if you really ain't,
- 5:59Speaker 9: then you really ain't.
- 6:00Speaker 1: The third thing is you got to allocate the necessary
- 6:04Speaker 1: time for your business.
- 6:07Speaker 9: You got to handle your business.
- 6:10Speaker 1: All of this, man, is the way it works, and
- 6:15Speaker 1: the order the order is God first, family second. Then
- 6:23Speaker 1: you got to handle all your business. But as me,
- 6:26Speaker 1: and this is what we do. If I don't handle
- 6:29Speaker 1: my business, I can't take care of my family, true statement.
- 6:34Speaker 1: But if your business is in front of your family,
- 6:36Speaker 1: you out of order. Now that's all we talking about
- 6:39Speaker 1: now in it. See, that's all we really say in
- 6:42Speaker 1: here now, fellas you know, you know I mean, I mean,
- 6:44Speaker 1: come on, man, you know, let's have a real conversation
- 6:47Speaker 1: about being better. You know, if you have created these children,
- 6:51Speaker 1: you got to handle your business. You may not like
- 6:54Speaker 1: the girl no more. You and the woman might have
- 6:56Speaker 1: broken up, y'all might go your own way, But what
- 6:58Speaker 1: that got to do with the child though, Man, you
- 7:00Speaker 1: got to handle your business. They got to know who
- 7:02Speaker 1: daddy is. That's your obligation. Man, that God ain't letting
- 7:05Speaker 1: you off the hook for that. Try it. Go ahead
- 7:08Speaker 1: and try it and think you're gonna get off the
- 7:10Speaker 1: hook with that, cause you're not.
- 7:11Speaker 9: Man, You just not.
- 7:14Speaker 1: I'm sorry, man, dog Steve, Why you coming like that?
- 7:19Speaker 1: Because I did it like that. I did it. Man.
- 7:22Speaker 1: I was over here trying to reshape my life, get
- 7:24Speaker 1: myself up on my feet when I was a homeless
- 7:26Speaker 1: man and trying to come back. Man, I thought I
- 7:29Speaker 1: had to take care of me first and then so
- 7:31Speaker 1: I can neglect it.
- 7:32Speaker 9: Care about them kids, man, I ain't hid at work. Man.
- 7:35Speaker 1: God kept his knee on my neck for a long
- 7:37Speaker 1: time for that one right there, till I finally learned
- 7:39Speaker 1: the lesson hold up man, put these phone calls in,
- 7:44Speaker 1: Go spend some time, do something, And then it started
- 7:47Speaker 1: turning around for me. You know, I can't be there
- 7:50Speaker 1: all the time because I am out here on the grind,
- 7:52Speaker 1: in the hustle.
- 7:53Speaker 9: But at the same time, Man, some more phone.
- 7:55Speaker 1: Calls, some more letters, some more hawha, he hes something,
- 8:01Speaker 1: Then take care of your business. Man.
- 8:03Speaker 9: You got to work hard to be successful.
- 8:06Speaker 1: You know. Sometimes I don't put that in there. I
- 8:08Speaker 1: just live it, and I expect my sons to emulate that.
- 8:11Speaker 1: But I gotta talk to them all the time. How
- 8:13Speaker 1: hard you got to work to be something. It's all
- 8:17Speaker 1: out of salt on it.
- 8:18Speaker 10: Man.
- 8:18Speaker 1: If you gotta target in mind, you gotta go. You
- 8:20Speaker 1: gotta wake up every day trying to get there, and
- 8:23Speaker 1: you can't get tired of it because it.
- 8:28Speaker 9: Never ends. You gonna always be this way.
- 8:31Speaker 1: That's how life is designed and set up. You got
- 8:34Speaker 1: to be a hard worker.
- 8:35Speaker 9: Man.
- 8:36Speaker 1: If you always looking for some time to chill and man,
- 8:39Speaker 1: I wanna go do what I want to do.
- 8:41Speaker 9: You ain't gonna make it.
- 8:43Speaker 1: In order to be successful, you have to do a
- 8:45Speaker 1: series of things that you're uncomfortable doing, and work is
- 8:49Speaker 1: the thing that most of us are uncomfortable doing.
- 8:52Speaker 9: It's so much easier to chill matter.
- 8:54Speaker 1: I wish I could kick back with a cigar man
- 8:57Speaker 1: all the time, but I can't, Man, I can't because
- 9:04Speaker 1: I got to work. Then the last piece of the balance, pie,
- 9:10Speaker 1: balance piece is you gotta take some time out to
- 9:13Speaker 1: enjoy yourself.
- 9:15Speaker 9: But if you ain't.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Where you wanna be, you ain't got a lot of
- 9:18Speaker 1: time to enjoy yourself. Quit thinking, man, that this balance
- 9:23Speaker 1: is even. It's a whole lot of God, a whole
- 9:27Speaker 1: lot of family, a whole lot of business, and a
- 9:29Speaker 1: little bit of chilling. The chilling can't be equal.
- 9:33Speaker 9: To the family, the business, all your God.
- 9:36Speaker 1: If the chilling is equal to any of them, you
- 9:39Speaker 1: ain't gonna make it. Quit chilling, man, and go to
- 9:43Speaker 1: work like a man. Do what you're supposed to do.
- 9:45Speaker 1: Work on your family, work on your relationship, work on
- 9:48Speaker 1: your God, work on your business. And then when you chill,
- 9:52Speaker 1: you might not chill as law, but you show gonna
- 9:54Speaker 1: chill bigger. You're gonna ball bigger.
- 9:56Speaker 7: Baby here listening to the Steve Harvey Morning.
- 9:59Speaker 1: Shall ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, anybody else that's
- 10:05Speaker 1: listening this show right here? I don't know what to
- 10:08Speaker 1: tell you. It's just really really good. Nothing others Now.
- 10:12Speaker 1: I got no complaint. But if I had to pick
- 10:14Speaker 1: one to listen to, I do what you doing this morning?
- 10:18Speaker 1: Thank you? You made the right choice. Ain't no doubt
- 10:21Speaker 1: about it. Ain't no doubt about it. Oh you had
- 10:23Speaker 1: a choice, but you picked us. So since you picked us,
- 10:27Speaker 1: here we go one two, one two three, folk.
- 10:32Speaker 10: You picked us. We must be on one cause you
- 10:37Speaker 10: picked us. Ready to have some fun? You picked us?
- 10:43Speaker 11: Why?
- 10:43Speaker 1: Oh why you picked us? Oh?
- 10:47Speaker 10: We must be on one you cause you picked us,
- 10:50Speaker 10: Ladies and gentlemen.
- 10:51Speaker 1: You picked us. That was the song of choice this morning?
- 10:55Speaker 1: Why I have no idea? Charley Strawberry call it for real,
- 10:59Speaker 1: Miss Zippy Monica Junior government name kill Lewan Space, owner
- 11:07Speaker 1: of KLSS Enterprise, and the legend that is Nephew Tunney.
- 11:13Speaker 9: Yeah, Junior, what's on your mind this morning?
- 11:16Speaker 12: Can I talk this about saw month?
- 11:17Speaker 13: I just need a little bit of motivation, some understanding, real.
- 11:20Speaker 14: Fast, you know, are we're coming to the closing end
- 11:23Speaker 14: of the year.
- 11:24Speaker 1: You know, what is it?
- 11:24Speaker 14: We getting over to twenty twenty four, and I'm trying
- 11:27Speaker 14: to figure out, like, when do we start.
- 11:28Speaker 13: Putting the plan together for twenty twenty four?
- 11:31Speaker 14: Do we start in twenty twenty four? Do we start now?
- 11:35Speaker 14: Or how do we start setting these goals together for
- 11:37Speaker 14: twenty twenty four.
- 11:38Speaker 1: As soon as I think of something that needs to
- 11:40Speaker 1: be accomplished or something I want to have on my
- 11:43Speaker 1: wish liss, I start to process immediately. I don't wait
- 11:48Speaker 1: for resolutions or New Year's and I start now. I've
- 11:53Speaker 1: learned that delaying does exactly that delays. Why would you
- 12:00Speaker 1: delay something that you want to happen? You start, and
- 12:04Speaker 1: once you start practicing the practice of procrastination, it takes
- 12:09Speaker 1: root really fast, and next thing you know, you're looking
- 12:12Speaker 1: for special days to do this, special moments to do that.
- 12:16Speaker 1: And then you'll find out in life that there is
- 12:18Speaker 1: no correct time to start except now. And it ain't
- 12:22Speaker 1: no need of waiting on your ducks to line up,
- 12:24Speaker 1: because they ask will not line up them. Damn ducks
- 12:27Speaker 1: walks off in all kinds of directions. These are not
- 12:31Speaker 1: the ducks down at the Peabody in the Mempheruse.
- 12:34Speaker 9: I'm telling you, they don't get in that line.
- 12:36Speaker 1: They don't come off that elevator and walk straight and
- 12:38Speaker 1: get in that damn water. These damn ducks in life,
- 12:41Speaker 1: they fly off, they go the other way. They go
- 12:44Speaker 1: over there and get in somebody get in white people cars.
- 12:47Speaker 1: You can go, hey, sure, ask do it. Get out
- 12:51Speaker 1: to the white people's coll So if you wait on
- 12:55Speaker 1: your ducks to line up, man, stop doing that. Go now.
- 12:59Speaker 9: I don't wait for resolutions.
- 13:01Speaker 1: I've started everything that I want to that I'm hoping
- 13:03Speaker 1: for in twenty twenty four. I've already started fertilizing the seeds.
- 13:08Speaker 7: Yeah, what a great end.
- 13:09Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how I do it. Jun, I don't wait
- 13:11Speaker 1: on the resolutions. This it's fun to do them because
- 13:16Speaker 1: I don't know. Yeah, sound good, but yeah, if you're
- 13:19Speaker 1: gonna lose weight, see right now, like the big one
- 13:21Speaker 1: in twenty twenty four, gonna be to lose weight, but you're.
- 13:24Speaker 9: Finna pack on fifteen.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Up until the end that you're goin to packed fifteen
- 13:32Speaker 1: on this month.
- 13:34Speaker 15: All right, Uh, we'll come right back with more of
- 13:37Speaker 15: the Steve Harvey Morning Show right after this.

- 14:34Speaker 1: they was good though, you know, because I didn't know,
- 14:38Speaker 1: you know, no different.

- 14:44Speaker 9: Know, everybody get a gift.
- 14:47Speaker 1: Uh huh what did you sitting around think you've in
- 14:50Speaker 1: olden multiple packages? Just damn gift man put.
- 14:56Speaker 7: The tearing off of the wrapping paper.
- 15:00Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, we're gonna use that paper next year. That bowl,
- 15:08Speaker 1: save that boat, I know.
- 15:09Speaker 15: And my mom wrapped like the grocery store wrap. That
- 15:13Speaker 15: was her thing.
- 15:13Speaker 2: She loved.
- 15:16Speaker 15: Yes, she could it looked just like it did at
- 15:18Speaker 15: the at the department stores.
- 15:20Speaker 7: My mom could rape.
- 15:21Speaker 1: Man, girl, I got an easy bake up in one.
- 15:24Speaker 7: Oh, yes, with the light.
- 15:26Speaker 2: With the light.
- 15:27Speaker 1: If I would have wrapped it, you knew it because
- 15:31Speaker 1: everything I wrapped to the exact shape or whatever. The
- 15:38Speaker 1: dog dog you if you thought it was a trunk,
- 15:41Speaker 1: that's probably what it was. It was.
- 15:43Speaker 14: It was obvious then going over the under the tree
- 15:46Speaker 14: and just feeling on the gifts trying to guess what
- 15:47Speaker 14: it was.
- 15:49Speaker 1: Man, if I wrapped it, you knew.
- 15:53Speaker 7: Wow, one, I gotta.
- 15:59Speaker 13: Bowling.
- 16:02Speaker 1: You know exactly what it is.
- 16:03Speaker 9: Looked like he gave all the baseball.
- 16:08Speaker 15: I remember when I got a tape recorder one year.
- 16:11Speaker 15: That was always a good was the beginning of my career.
- 16:14Speaker 15: Right there, tape recorder. Yes, Oh, I got a starry
- 16:17Speaker 15: rewind fast forward.
- 16:19Speaker 7: Yes, yes, good good stuff.
- 16:23Speaker 1: One of my most frightening Christmases was because of that
- 16:28Speaker 1: tape recorder right there.
- 16:29Speaker 7: Oh yeah, well happened to you where.
- 16:31Speaker 1: You press play and record play and record frights it
- 16:35Speaker 1: get it done?
- 16:36Speaker 9: Yes, yes, my mama got me mine for Christmas.
- 16:40Speaker 1: I took it upstairs and recorded Rudy Ray Moore sick
- 16:44Speaker 1: to find a monkey. God talk the whole down in
- 16:49Speaker 1: the jungle deep. That's second fine monkey damn shouted through
- 16:57Speaker 1: the trees and all up in here that monkey. I
- 17:05Speaker 1: was in elementary school. He was cussing. He was cutting
- 17:11Speaker 1: seventh six or seventh about Ray Moore. Well, my daddy
- 17:15Speaker 1: and them used to play it. Oh, I sit on
- 17:18Speaker 1: the steps in the hallway and listen to it. Be
- 17:21Speaker 1: in the hallway, Holliday. Everybody had the albums Man, but
- 17:24Speaker 1: I remberized the whole signifying monkey, and I could sound
- 17:30Speaker 1: just like it. So when my mama got it, I
- 17:32Speaker 1: went upstairs and I'm recording way down the signifying monkey
- 17:44Speaker 1: cussing and everything I'm talking about cuss just like that's
- 17:47Speaker 1: when you first loved.
- 17:48Speaker 7: You fell in love like this.
- 17:49Speaker 1: So everything going good. We go to church that morning.
- 17:53Speaker 1: We come back. A couple of sister Porter and sister
- 17:57Speaker 1: all Bell came over to see my mama and they
- 18:01Speaker 1: was in there in the living room, and I had
- 18:03Speaker 1: my recorder on the coffee table because I said, saw
- 18:07Speaker 1: a cookie on the dining room table. I wanted to
- 18:10Speaker 1: get a matter of fact of rice Chrispy or well.
- 18:14Speaker 1: And when I came back. My mama had to recorded
- 18:18Speaker 1: and my stomach. Uh, she said, what did they? They
- 18:27Speaker 1: was all talking about, Uh, sister Harvey, what is that.
- 18:31Speaker 1: That's these new recorders that you buy. We bought one
- 18:34Speaker 1: for Steve.
- 18:36Speaker 16: I'm just and I said, man, man, don't hit that.
- 18:44Speaker 1: But over there, this lady porter say, what's on it?
- 18:52Speaker 1: My mama press play? I opened it up like this
- 19:01Speaker 1: way down in the jungle deep that signifying munkeet that
- 19:09Speaker 1: didn't ever sleep. Yeah, I'm cussing in everything. I mean,
- 19:16Speaker 1: it's on the recorder. So my mama trying to find
- 19:20Speaker 1: a button off, but she can't cut it off. She
- 19:25Speaker 1: can't control the volume or nothing. She steady hitting the
- 19:29Speaker 1: plate button. Well that's already down and your baby talking.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Lady at the church say, oh, that's that's Rudy raymore So,
- 19:41Speaker 1: I said, okay, that might help a little bit, they say.
- 19:45Speaker 1: She say, but who is it though?
- 19:48Speaker 11: Oh?
- 19:48Speaker 7: Who's saying this?
- 19:49Speaker 1: Yeah, everybody looking at me. I'm just trying to figure
- 19:55Speaker 1: out how I can make this recorded disappear and make
- 19:59Speaker 1: the forget God. If I stay here and look out
- 20:05Speaker 1: the window, maybe they won't notice it's me.
- 20:08Speaker 6: Man.

- 41:06Speaker 15: Christmas traditions, and while time honored holiday traditions are important,
- 41:10Speaker 15: they've also evolved over the generations. Now this is according
- 41:14Speaker 15: to a survey, family activities and writing to Santa are
- 41:18Speaker 15: still among the most popular holiday traditions. That is interesting,
- 41:23Speaker 15: even though because I've never written to Santa. Even though
- 41:26Speaker 15: we live in a tech savvy world, three out of
- 41:28Speaker 15: four parents say their children still hand write letters to Santa,
- 41:33Speaker 15: as opposed to a more modern approach like email. And really,
- 41:38Speaker 15: and what's the most popular family activity in twenty seventeen
- 41:42Speaker 15: this year? Well, according to most households, it's decorating the
- 41:46Speaker 15: Christmas tree.
- 41:47Speaker 7: As a family. Now that I like, I can relate
- 41:50Speaker 7: to that.
- 41:50Speaker 1: Do we do that? Yeah?
- 41:53Speaker 15: So let's so, Steve, we got to start with you here.
- 41:56Speaker 15: What are the family traditions that your family key that
- 42:00Speaker 15: you definitely.
- 42:00Speaker 9: First of all, let me get this straight.
- 42:04Speaker 7: Boodha, your grandson a.
- 42:09Speaker 9: Noah and Rose.
- 42:12Speaker 7: Grandchildren.
- 42:14Speaker 9: I'm not telling them that Santa Claus is coming down
- 42:18Speaker 9: the chimney.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Okay, nay, Mom and Daddy might, but if they come
- 42:22Speaker 1: up with Papa's house, Papa bought all this.
- 42:31Speaker 9: Straight about that.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Here this yall, and Papa pay all their little figure
- 42:37Speaker 1: hair Snow, I bought all that in hire. I had
- 42:41Speaker 1: that tree in the in the in the in the
- 42:43Speaker 1: foer that Papa bought that.
- 42:45Speaker 15: So that's a new tradition really, because you weren't you
- 42:49Speaker 15: brought up with thinking Santa Claus.
- 42:51Speaker 7: Did it for a while when you were little?
- 42:53Speaker 6: Yeah?
- 42:53Speaker 7: Yeah, so you're usually as young as your grandchildren aren't.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Yeah, well, you know my kids take their kids to
- 43:00Speaker 1: see Santa Claus. Yeah, they're thinking it's a Santa Claus.
- 43:05Speaker 1: I'm just telling don't bring them over here.
- 43:07Speaker 7: Why you got so real with it right now?
- 43:10Speaker 9: Well, no, Papa house all is paid for by the
- 43:12Speaker 9: big ballad har.
- 43:13Speaker 1: Does you work?
- 43:14Speaker 7: You want some credit?
- 43:15Speaker 1: Yeah, the white man didn't bought nothing up in here.
- 43:18Speaker 1: The bald head black man that's in that office down
- 43:21Speaker 1: there at the front of the house. You going there,
- 43:23Speaker 1: that'sh Santa Claus down there. Matter of fact, don't bring
- 43:26Speaker 1: him up when you come in here. Because he had
- 43:29Speaker 1: none to do, and everything on this side of the gate,
- 43:31Speaker 1: Santa Claus ain't had damn things to do.
- 43:34Speaker 7: Okay, So that's one. That's one. That's me that you
- 43:38Speaker 7: burst wide open. Okay.
- 43:41Speaker 1: Secondly, if you tag up your toy on Christmas, you
- 43:46Speaker 1: get your ass whooped on christal.
- 43:50Speaker 13: Man.
- 43:50Speaker 12: That that's a tradition.
- 43:53Speaker 7: That tradition standard meerations.
- 43:57Speaker 1: You know, I hold on this lay away and you
- 44:01Speaker 1: broke it.
- 44:03Speaker 13: Yeah, he opened it at five and it's broken.
- 44:07Speaker 1: Mad I had a nephew named Pogo. All did every
- 44:16Speaker 1: toy he got, he took it apart.
- 44:18Speaker 7: Wow.
- 44:19Speaker 9: But then you know what, he put it all back together.
- 44:22Speaker 9: That's all he wanted to do.
- 44:24Speaker 7: Well, yeah, that's like girls we used to take our
- 44:27Speaker 7: dolls clothes off.
- 44:29Speaker 9: A mechanic.
- 44:29Speaker 1: Yeah, right now, that's what he do.
- 44:33Speaker 7: He's a mechanic right now because see. Yeah, so that
- 44:36Speaker 7: was some good. But did he get in trouble for
- 44:38Speaker 7: doing it.
- 44:38Speaker 1: When he was a kid?
- 44:39Speaker 10: Dog?
- 44:40Speaker 1: Because if my daddy sought the toy toe up. But
- 44:43Speaker 1: he would ask though after the second year, is that
- 44:46Speaker 1: Pogo toy would leave alone there?
- 44:49Speaker 9: Put it back here?
- 44:51Speaker 6: Oh?
- 44:51Speaker 7: He wasn't too mad, all right? What else so so
- 44:57Speaker 7: no Santa, but whoopings if you broke your toe? What else?
- 45:02Speaker 1: Oh?
- 45:03Speaker 7: These are some traditions, Steve. I want to hear some
- 45:06Speaker 7: of Junior's still.
- 45:06Speaker 1: I know his family.
- 45:08Speaker 7: Sounds like he got his butt.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Oh man. Absolutely.
- 45:12Speaker 13: One tradition was you going to bed.
- 45:14Speaker 7: At seven on Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
- 45:17Speaker 1: On Christmas Eve?
- 45:18Speaker 19: Oh, I could never sleep on Christmas Eve. I could
- 45:21Speaker 19: never do that because Santah was coming. What Santa don't
- 45:26Speaker 19: show up till nine in the morning. We got to
- 45:29Speaker 19: go back to be nine.
- 45:34Speaker 12: S were running later.
- 45:36Speaker 13: Y'all go back in there and go back to bee.

- 56:14Speaker 1: Get ready. Here it is Strawberry Letter.
- 56:17Speaker 15: Thank you nephew. Subject he can't talk without touching me.
- 56:21Speaker 15: Dear Stephen Shirley. I met a man online and he's
- 56:23Speaker 15: a decent guy with a good job and a great
- 56:25Speaker 15: set of friends. We've gone on double dates with my
- 56:29Speaker 15: friends and his friends, and I did that because that's
- 56:32Speaker 15: how you get to really know a person. The drawback
- 56:36Speaker 15: of it is that my friends also get to point
- 56:38Speaker 15: out the bad things about my man. We had a
- 56:40Speaker 15: double date with my best friend and her man and
- 56:42Speaker 15: my best He said that it's too soon for my
- 56:44Speaker 15: man to be as hands on as he is, meaning
- 56:48Speaker 15: he can't talk without touching me. She said he was
- 56:51Speaker 15: going to start pressuring me for sex too soon. She
- 56:54Speaker 15: was spot on with that one, so I couldn't be
- 56:57Speaker 15: mad at her. The second date was with my my
- 57:00Speaker 15: cousin and her husband, and my cousin's husband that the
- 57:03Speaker 15: guy shouldn't be grabbing my butt in public like that
- 57:05Speaker 15: because it's tasteless. I did not care what he said,
- 57:09Speaker 15: because I know he's not a romantic type of guy
- 57:12Speaker 15: from what my cousin has said about him. But when
- 57:15Speaker 15: I'm alone with my new man and in public, he
- 57:18Speaker 15: really can't talk without putting his hands on my body.
- 57:21Speaker 7: In the car, he wants to hold my hand and
- 57:24Speaker 7: drive with his left hand.
- 57:25Speaker 15: He has his hand on my thigh when we're having dinner,
- 57:29Speaker 15: and if we're at a bar having a drink, he
- 57:30Speaker 15: will slide my chair right up beside him so he
- 57:33Speaker 15: can rub my shoulder or have his hand.
- 57:35Speaker 7: In various places on my body.
- 57:38Speaker 15: We met seven weeks ago and we haven't been intimate,
- 57:41Speaker 15: but like my bestie said, he's already itching to have sex.
- 57:45Speaker 15: The final straw for me was when he put his
- 57:48Speaker 15: hand between my legs and a restaurant and asked if
- 57:51Speaker 15: he could have it. I asked what it was. It's
- 57:54Speaker 15: a complete and utter turn off. Do I throw away
- 57:57Speaker 15: the man for this one flaw? Or is this something
- 58:00Speaker 15: we can work on. He doesn't do well with subtle hints. Oh,
- 58:04Speaker 15: he's a little out of control doing that in public
- 58:08Speaker 15: and at a restaurant. But the most important thing here
- 58:12Speaker 15: is what you're comfortable with, and that's all. If you
- 58:16Speaker 15: don't want this man that you've only been dating for
- 58:19Speaker 15: seven weeks to have his hands all over you and
- 58:21Speaker 15: you shouldn't, why don't you say something to him?
- 58:25Speaker 7: Why don't you tell him to stop, move his hands away?
- 58:27Speaker 15: It is very disrespectful of him to be touching you
- 58:30Speaker 15: so inappropriately and in front of your friends.
- 58:32Speaker 7: And family like that. How have you let it go
- 58:36Speaker 7: this long?
- 58:37Speaker 15: That's my question to you. If you don't want him
- 58:40Speaker 15: to do it to you, then don't let him do
- 58:43Speaker 15: it to you. You've got to be realistic, though, I mean,
- 58:46Speaker 15: he's a man who is obviously attracted to you, and
- 58:50Speaker 15: I'm sure he feels seven weeks is a long time
- 58:53Speaker 15: on his calendar. He's ready to get busy, but clearly
- 58:56Speaker 15: you're not because you're still trying to get to know him.
- 59:00Speaker 15: But you gotta remember, I mean, it's simple.
- 59:02Speaker 7: This is your body.
- 59:03Speaker 15: And if you're not slapping stopping him or slapping him,
- 59:08Speaker 15: and you're not saying saying anything about his touching you,
- 59:11Speaker 15: he's not gonna stop. You gotta tell him if that's
- 59:13Speaker 15: what you want. If he leaves because you spoke up
- 59:16Speaker 15: for yourself, then let him go. If he stays, tell
- 59:18Speaker 15: him you don't want him touching you like that anymore.
- 59:21Speaker 15: You want to get to know him, and you guys
- 59:23Speaker 15: need to slow down.
- 59:24Speaker 1: Steve, Uh, this.
- 59:31Speaker 9: Letter, it's so common sense.
- 59:35Speaker 1: It's just Shirley's absolutely correct in what she's said. This
- 59:40Speaker 1: let us it's really what you want. But you're not
- 59:44Speaker 1: conveying this to the man. So what you want him
- 59:46Speaker 1: to do? Because right now, this dude, he don't think
- 59:49Speaker 1: you're doing nothing wrong, but you think the man is wrong.
- 59:54Speaker 1: And now I'm gonna tell you where I'm gonna tell you. Well,
- 59:57Speaker 1: let me show you a couple of things.
- 59:58Speaker 9: Just let him.
- 59:59Speaker 1: You met this man online. He's a decent guy, got
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: a good job. Gray, set of friends who go on
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: double dates with friends and his friends, my friends and
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: his friends. I did that because that's how you get
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: to really know a person. Okay, that's a good idea
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: because you got to see how it interacts with other people.
- 1:00:15Speaker 9: Other people's opinion of him, his opinion of your friends.
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: That said good depth.
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: The drawback is that my friends also get to point
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: out the bad things about my man. Well didn't you
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: just say that's why you went out with him, so
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: you can get to know him, And sometimes you can
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: get Your friend's opinions can matter, but they shouldn't, but
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: they can depend.
- 1:00:36Speaker 9: On who the friend is.
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: See, we had a double date with my best friend
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: and her man and my best He said that it's
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: too soon for my man to be hands on as
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: he is, meaning he can't talk without touching me. She
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: said he was gonna start pressing me for sex too soon.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, because why because that's what
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: we do. That's why he dating you. He dating you
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: to have sex. That's why all men date you. Is
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: this a secret and is this a new book? All
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: men date you because they want to have sex with you.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: I have a shaker for you. Y'all dating men because
- 1:01:28Speaker 1: y'all want to have sex with them? That tada, Yeah,
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: take them frowns off, y'all's face on this zoom. Yeah,
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: that's why you date men. Now, y'all not gonna outwardly
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: say that because you want some other things too, of course,
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: but at the bottom line, you know what this bout. Stop?
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: Come on, now, how we gonna have a family. I
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: want to get married one day. I want to have
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: a family. We know what we're gonna have to do.
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Then let's get to doing. It's what this is all about.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: She was spot on with that when her girlfriend he
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: was gonna pressure me to have sex. I that ain't
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: she brilliant? So I couldn't be mad with her. The
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: second day was with my cousin and her husband said.
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Her husband said, the guy shouldn't be grabbing my buddy
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: in public like that, because it's tasted. That is tasteles
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: great hangout, but in front of people, that's tasteless. It
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: is Hang on, Steve.
- 1:02:32Speaker 15: We'll have part two of your response coming up at
- 1:02:34Speaker 15: twenty three minutes after the hour of today's Strawberry letter,
- 1:02:37Speaker 15: subjects he can't talk without touching me. We'll get back
- 1:02:40Speaker 15: into it right after this. You're listening Steve Hardy Morning Show.

- 1:03:16Speaker 15: recap today's Strawberry letter. The subject is he can't talk
- 1:03:20Speaker 15: without touching me?
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: Yeah, no, lady, And you've been out with your friends
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: with him and everything, and they done told you he's
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: a little touching too much because he's gonna press.
- 1:03:28Speaker 9: You for sex. She was right about that.
- 1:03:31Speaker 10: Duh.
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: Yeah, he is going to ask you for sex eventually.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I think you note that. That's why both y'all was online.
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: You get online so you can find a relationship but
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: in order to be in a relationship, you're going to
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: have to relate. Why are you feeling like you own
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: a ship?
- 1:03:56Speaker 18: And what analogy?
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: What it rocks back and forth? You online to get
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: into a relationship. Okay, to be in a relationship, you
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: have to have a relay shun with someone. And it's
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: got to feel like y'all on a ship because the
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: ship rocks back and forth. That's what the relationship is.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: Two people that can relate to each other till it
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: gets so good y'all start rocking back and forth. That's
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: the relationships.
- 1:04:36Speaker 7: Wow, my god, we can't how come we can't see that? Huh?
- 1:04:42Speaker 2: Now?
- 1:04:43Speaker 9: What the hell?
- 1:04:43Speaker 11: Now?
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: Your girlfriend talking about he two hands on? He gonna
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: want to have sex soon? Yes he is, Yeah, he
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: gonna want to not soon now.
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: Seven weeks.
- 1:04:55Speaker 9: She was spot on with that, so I couldn't be
- 1:04:57Speaker 9: mad at her.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: The second day, my husband and her husband cousin husband
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: said the guy shouldn't be grabbing my butty in public
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: like that because it's tasteless.
- 1:05:04Speaker 9: That's true. Tasteless is true.
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: But your other cousin though, telling you he gonna press
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: you for sex, that's what he supposed to do. Why
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: is this her damn business stuff? Didn't her husband press
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: her for sex one day?
- 1:05:18Speaker 9: Didn't she have it?
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I did not care what he said because I know
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: he's not a romantic type of a guy. Okay, but
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: you did care what the other lady said of what
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: my cousin has said about. But when I'm alone with
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: my new man and in public, he really can't talk
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: without putting his hands on my body. In the car,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: he want to hold my hand to drive with the
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: left hand. Damn. Maybe it ain't just your cousin's husbands
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: that ain't romantic. Maybe you ain't romantic, Keithan, see a
- 1:05:46Speaker 1: man want to hold your hand while he driving?
- 1:05:49Speaker 7: Damn?
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: Most women go wild. That is so nice. He wants
- 1:05:53Speaker 1: to hold my hand while they driving? Don't what as
- 1:05:56Speaker 1: you touching me? Folk? He has his hand on my
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: thigh when having dinner, and if we had a ball
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: having a drink, he would slide my chair right up
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: next to him so he could rub my shoulder or
- 1:06:07Speaker 1: have his hands in various places on my body. Billy,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: we met seven weeks ago and we haven't been intimate.
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: But like my bestie said, he's already itching to half sex.
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: Already when did you just come to you after seven weeks?
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: He was ready for that long time ago. Now I
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: ad MyD you for waiting and trying to get to
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: know the man kind of pushes you towards that ninety
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: day rule I created, and it makes a little bit
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: of sense.
- 1:06:34Speaker 9: But at seven weeks, he's pressing. He's pressing.
- 1:06:39Speaker 6: Now.
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: The final straw for me was when he put his
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: hand between my legs and the restaurant. Wait, ben hold
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: of Blake, hold On, there's been a whole lot of
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: touching going on for seven weeks.
- 1:06:52Speaker 9: Why are you still going out with him? If this
- 1:06:53Speaker 9: is so repulsive?
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: If this touching, it's seven weeks and touching. Now, he'd
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: have been on your thigh, he'd have been on your shoulders.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: He's been all up in your hair. He'd have been
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: on your knee cap he'd have your hand when he's driving. Now,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: y'all in the restaurant. Now you're talking about the final straw.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: He don't put his hands between your legs. We had
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: to promise.
- 1:07:18Speaker 11: Land.
- 1:07:18Speaker 9: Now we at the Holy Grail, we in front of
- 1:07:25Speaker 9: the Grand Canyon.
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: You have made your points right there at Niagara Falls,
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: we at Victoria Lake, we are the Empire State. We
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: are one of the seven wonders of the world. That's
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: number eight right there, And all of y'all have one
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: the eighth wonders of the world. And I be damned
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: if it ain't one of the most wonderful wonders I've
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: ever seen. I've been to the Grand Canyon. He ain't
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: got nothing that Grand Canyon. Ain't got nothing on that thing,
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: nothing nothing. I've been to Niagara Falls. I'd rather be
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: standing in front of a fine woman than to be
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: a Niagara Falls. I'm telling you right now, it ain't
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: all that I've seen the Empire State. I've been to
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Victoria Lynks. I've been the only place. Ain't nothing like
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: standing right there, uh huh in front of me. I'm
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: just telling you it's something.
- 1:08:19Speaker 11: I think we get it.
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: I really do.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Well, I don't think you do. I'm painting this picture. No,
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: I only got a many left, so let me go
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: and get to this. He put his hand between my
- 1:08:29Speaker 1: leg and the restaurant and asked if he could have it.
- 1:08:34Speaker 9: I asked what it was?
- 1:08:35Speaker 11: You know?
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: Good? Hell, well, what it is?
- 1:08:37Speaker 9: What is your playing, stupid fault? I'm sick of your
- 1:08:40Speaker 9: little dumb ass letter.
- 1:08:41Speaker 11: What is it?
- 1:08:42Speaker 12: You know exactly what it is?
- 1:08:45Speaker 11: You know what he doing? What is it?
- 1:08:51Speaker 10: You mean?
- 1:08:52Speaker 11: What is it?
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: It's why we here, It's why I damn dinner. It's
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: why I'm driving, It's why Dave today, This why spend
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: money on this soup, is why buses day by.
- 1:09:05Speaker 3: Look well, he yells.
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: It's the reason that the world go round. What do
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: you mean? What do you mean?
- 1:09:13Speaker 11: What is it? You know me?
- 1:09:15Speaker 2: It is?

- 1:10:20Speaker 15: Do you have a memory or a vivid recollection of
- 1:10:23Speaker 15: the first time you met Santa Claus?
- 1:10:25Speaker 13: Oh, first time in Santa Uh huh No, No, the baby.
- 1:10:36Speaker 13: I've seen the pictures, but I don't remember the man.
- 1:10:40Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: You meant him at the mall?
- 1:10:42Speaker 7: You see him at the mall?
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: Yeah, but he never came to my house. I never
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: saw her.
- 1:10:49Speaker 15: My mom would always tell me he had been there though,
- 1:10:52Speaker 15: and ate some pie and they sat out and talked
- 1:10:56Speaker 15: for a minute.
- 1:10:57Speaker 7: Oh really always.
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: Yeah, Steve, do you remember meeting Santa Claus? Well, when
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I first met him, Yeah, but I already knew who
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: he was, so I was wondering what happened. Well, I
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: had been told by my brothers and stuff and were
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: going down his white man from bring nothing to our house.
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: So when I met him, it didn't have the joy
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: that you think you would have as a child. But
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: still I liked Santa Claus. I always liked him. I
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: thought his intentions were well you know, I always enjoyed
- 1:11:27Speaker 1: the concept. And plus I'm a big Christmas guy.
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: So yeah, and why is that why you look?

- 1:12:11Speaker 1: this a treat, you know, I know I know the
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: real meaning of Christmas. Before you getting home, so I
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: can see my tree. I haven't seen, no, haven't seen
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: it From I'm not sure where this one came in from.
