- 0:11Speaker 5: The hell out of here. You're listening to the forty
- 0:15Speaker 5: seven Morning Update with Ben Ferguson.
- 0:18Speaker 4: Good morning, It's Ben Ferguson. It's nice to have you
- 0:20Speaker 4: with us. Here are the big stories that we're covering
- 0:23Speaker 4: today on the forty seven Morning Update. First up, it's
- 0:26Speaker 4: Black Tuesday when it comes to federal workers. They're getting
- 0:30Speaker 4: pink slips from Donald Trump saying you're fired. So who
- 0:33Speaker 4: all lost their jobs and why? I'll have that for
- 0:36Speaker 4: you in a moment. Also, Donald Trump moved America forward
- 0:40Speaker 4: with a five hundred billion dollar AI investment from the
- 0:44Speaker 4: private sector. That's happening right here in the US of A. Finally,
- 0:48Speaker 4: promise is made and promises kept on border security, major
- 0:52Speaker 4: moves by President Trump to make sure that we have
- 0:56Speaker 4: a secure southern border. It's the forty seven Morning Update
- 1:00Speaker 4: and it starts right now.
- 1:01Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 1:02Speaker 4: It was Black Tuesday for many in the federal government
- 1:06Speaker 4: as the head of the TSA and the Coast Guard
- 1:09Speaker 4: were fired on Trump's first full day in office. President
- 1:13Speaker 4: Trump moved quickly to remake the Department of Homeland Security,
- 1:16Speaker 4: firing the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and the
- 1:20Speaker 4: Coast Guard before their terms were even up, and eliminated
- 1:23Speaker 4: all members of a key aviation security advisory group as well. Now,
- 1:28Speaker 4: Trump's immigration policy changes through the most attention at Homeland Security,
- 1:34Speaker 4: but he's also making changes at the rest of the
- 1:37Speaker 4: massive agency. Members of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee received
- 1:42Speaker 4: a memo Tuesday morning saying that the Department is eliminating
- 1:46Speaker 4: the membership of all advisory committees as part of a
- 1:50Speaker 4: commitment to eliminating the misuse of resources and ensuring that
- 1:54Speaker 4: the Department of homelanded Security activities prioritize specifically our national security.
- 2:01Speaker 4: The Aviation Security Committee, which was mandated by Congress after
- 2:05Speaker 4: the nineteen eighty eight Pamm one oh three bombing over
- 2:08Speaker 4: lockingby Scotland, will technically continue to exist, but it won't
- 2:12Speaker 4: have any members to carry out the work of examining
- 2:15Speaker 4: safety issues at airlines and airports. Liberals are claiming at
- 2:19Speaker 4: this hour, but the reality is there are plenty of
- 2:22Speaker 4: people that are doing that right now. Who's angry about it? Well,
- 2:26Speaker 4: major unions. That's right because the airlines and majored unions
- 2:31Speaker 4: were a member of the group associated with all of
- 2:35Speaker 4: this government bureaucracy. This is another example of Donald Trump
- 2:39Speaker 4: saying I'm coming in and I'm cleaning house. Now. That
- 2:43Speaker 4: isn't all who lost their jobs in our bloated government.
- 2:46Speaker 4: You know. Donald Trump became very famous for being the
- 2:49Speaker 4: guy that says you're fired. Well, Donald Trump is telling
- 2:53Speaker 4: many Biden appointees you're out of a job. And now
- 2:56Speaker 4: it's a he said. She said, no, no, no, you
- 2:58Speaker 4: didn't fire me. I already quit. I wish I was joking,
- 3:02Speaker 4: but I'm not. Donald Trump says he plans to remove
- 3:05Speaker 4: over one thousand Biden appointees, and there are many that
- 3:10Speaker 4: are very angry about President Donald Trump on Tuesday, saying
- 3:13Speaker 4: I have these plans because I'm not keeping any of
- 3:16Speaker 4: them Joe Biden's appointees from their government positions. He said, yeah,
- 3:20Speaker 4: you're gone, and he had already fired four individuals immediately,
- 3:24Speaker 4: including a celebrity shift Jose Andreas and a former top
- 3:29Speaker 4: general Mark Milly. You're fired, is what Trump wrote in
- 3:33Speaker 4: an early morning post on his True social platform that
- 3:36Speaker 4: named Milly and Andreas, as well as his former I
- 3:40Speaker 4: ran envoy Brian Hook and the former Atlanta mayor Keisha
- 3:44Speaker 4: Lance Bottoms, who Biden appointed to an export council. Andreas
- 3:49Speaker 4: and Bottom said they quote unquote had already quit their
- 3:52Speaker 4: posts before Trump's inauguration. Trump's post said his personal office
- 3:56Speaker 4: is quote actively in the process of identifying and removing
- 4:01Speaker 4: over one thousand presidential appointees from the Biden administration who
- 4:06Speaker 4: are quote not aligned with our vision to make America
- 4:09Speaker 4: great again. Donald Trump wasn't done there. When it came
- 4:13Speaker 4: to changing things very quickly, he also decided to move
- 4:17Speaker 4: to another issue. He Trump ordered all federal diversity, Equity
- 4:22Speaker 4: and Inclusion employees placed on paid leave starting on Wednesday.
- 4:28Speaker 4: Yes NBC News reporting that the Trump administration also directed
- 4:32Speaker 4: government agencies to draw plans for firing workers in DEI roles.
- 4:38Speaker 4: The Trump administration is ordering all federal employees the White
- 4:42Speaker 4: House announced in these roles on paid lead by Wednesday
- 4:46Speaker 4: evening at five o'clock that according to a new memo
- 4:49Speaker 4: from the Office of Personnel Management. The memo issued Tuesday
- 4:53Speaker 4: to heads of departments and government agencies set that deadline
- 4:57Speaker 4: of no later than five pm Eastern time Wednesday to
- 5:01Speaker 4: inform the employees that they will be put on paid
- 5:03Speaker 4: administrative leave as the agencies prepare to close all diversity,
- 5:09Speaker 4: equity and inclusion related offices and programs, and to also
- 5:14Speaker 4: remove all websites and social media accounts for such offices immediately.
- 5:21Speaker 4: This is another promise Donald Trump made to the American people,
- 5:25Speaker 4: and he's seeing it through clearly, starting in his very
- 5:28Speaker 4: first week in office.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Now story number two in major.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Breaking news coming from the Oval Office, President Donald Trump
- 5:34Speaker 4: on Tuesday announced Stargate Project. Now, what is that? It
- 5:38Speaker 4: is a new American company which will invest five hundred
- 5:43Speaker 4: billion dollars over the next four years building a new
- 5:48Speaker 4: AI infrastructure, specifically in the United States of America. The
- 5:53Speaker 4: President also asked Oracles Larry Ellison, Soft Bank CEO, and
- 5:59Speaker 4: Open AI Sam Altman to the White House for this
- 6:03Speaker 4: major announcement. We're President Trump explained it this way.
- 6:06Speaker 1: It's my honor to welcome three of the world's leading
- 6:09Speaker 1: technology CEOs. And in the case of Larry Larry Ellison,
- 6:13Speaker 1: it's well beyond technology is sort of CEO of everything.
- 6:19Speaker 1: He's an amazing man, an amazing business person. But to
- 6:24Speaker 1: announce the largest AI infrastructure project by farign history and
- 6:29Speaker 1: it's all taking place right here in America. As you know,
- 6:33Speaker 1: there's great competition for AI and other things, and they're
- 6:39Speaker 1: coming in at the highest level. We're joined by Oracle
- 6:42Speaker 1: Executive Chairman Larry Ellison, Soft Bank CEO, my friend Masa
- 6:47Speaker 1: Masa Yoshi's son and CEO of Open Ai, and I
- 6:53Speaker 1: would say the by far the leading expert based on
- 6:56Speaker 1: everything I read, Sam Altman. So that's that's great that
- 7:00Speaker 1: you're coming in together. That's a massive group of talent
- 7:04Speaker 1: and money. Together, these world leading technology giants are announcing
- 7:10Speaker 1: the formation of Stargate. So put that name down in
- 7:13Speaker 1: your books, because I think you're going to hear a
- 7:16Speaker 1: lot about it in the future. A new American company
- 7:19Speaker 1: that will invest five hundred billion dollars at least in
- 7:23Speaker 1: AI infrastructure in the United States and very very quickly,
- 7:28Speaker 1: moving very rapidly, creating over one hundred thousand American jobs
- 7:32Speaker 1: almost immediately.
- 7:33Speaker 4: This massive project is going to create, as you heard
- 7:36Speaker 4: the President just say, there, over one hundred thousand high
- 7:39Speaker 4: quality jobs, and it will catapult America in front of
- 7:44Speaker 4: China in the AI race. Not only will this create
- 7:49Speaker 4: more than one hundred thousand American jobs and significantly advance
- 7:52Speaker 4: AI applications, particularly and this is the part that many
- 7:57Speaker 4: Americans should be the most excited about in healthcare, such
- 8:00Speaker 4: as early disease detection and personalized treatments. Key figures from
- 8:05Speaker 4: the private sector. Putting this all together, joining President Trump
- 8:10Speaker 4: with this announcement at the White House is proof yet again,
- 8:13Speaker 4: as Donald Trump has put it, that if we want
- 8:15Speaker 4: to fix the biggest problems of the world, we should
- 8:17Speaker 4: be looking to the private sector and not the US
- 8:20Speaker 4: government to do it.
- 8:21Speaker 3: And lastly, story number three.
- 8:23Speaker 4: Promise is made, promise is kept. When it comes to
- 8:26Speaker 4: national security and the Southern Border. The man who's in
- 8:30Speaker 4: charge of securing the Southern Border, Tom Homan, said today
- 8:35Speaker 4: that ice deportation operations have already begun.
- 8:39Speaker 2: Teams are all there as of today. We gave him
- 8:42Speaker 2: the in direction to prioritize public safety threats that we're
- 8:45Speaker 2: looking for, so we've been working on the target list.
- 8:48Speaker 2: There was some discussion about with Chicago because the Pacific
- 8:52Speaker 2: Operational Plan was released, so we had to look at
- 8:54Speaker 2: and reevaluate does this raise after safety concerns and it does,
- 8:59Speaker 2: but we've address that in teams. You all despective today.
- 9:03Speaker 4: Teams are out there today. So what exactly has happened
- 9:06Speaker 4: since Donald Trump was sworn in. I have the list
- 9:09Speaker 4: for you now. It is a list that the media
- 9:12Speaker 4: is not wanting to talk about because it's actually a
- 9:15Speaker 4: very extensive list of promises made and promises cap So
- 9:21Speaker 4: let's go through it so you know exactly where we
- 9:23Speaker 4: are in the process of securing the border. On January
- 9:27Speaker 4: the twenty first, Donald Trump signed several executive orders aimed
- 9:31Speaker 4: at strengthening border security. Number one a National Emergency Declaration
- 9:38Speaker 4: declaring a national emergency at the US Mexico border, enabling
- 9:42Speaker 4: the deployment of federal troops to assist in border enforcement.
- 9:47Speaker 4: There was another promise that was made, and that deal
- 9:49Speaker 4: with the remain in Mexico policy. Well, Donald Trump paid
- 9:53Speaker 4: off on that promise, reinstating the policy requiring asylum seekers
- 9:57Speaker 4: to wait in Mexico during immigration proceedings, which will have
- 10:02Speaker 4: a massive impact on stopping the flow of illegal immigrants
- 10:05Speaker 4: across the border. One of the other major issues Donald
- 10:09Speaker 4: Trump talked about back in the campaign in twenty sixteen
- 10:12Speaker 4: for president was building a border wall. Well, Donald Trump
- 10:16Speaker 4: is ordered the resumption and now the completion of the
- 10:19Speaker 4: border wall along the southern border as fast as humanly possible. Also,
- 10:25Speaker 4: in another major move, and the media lost their minds
- 10:28Speaker 4: over this, Donald Trump decided to terminate birthright citizenship, signing
- 10:33Speaker 4: an order to end automatic US citizenship for a child
- 10:37Speaker 4: born in the US to an undocumented immigrant. This move
- 10:42Speaker 4: is likely going to face major legal challenges due to
- 10:45Speaker 4: the fourteenth Amendment. That doesn't mean that Donald Trump isn't
- 10:49Speaker 4: willing to have that conversation now. Donald Trump also took
- 10:53Speaker 4: a major action which shocked the world, especially those that
- 10:57Speaker 4: advocate for illegal immigrants. He decided to been the CBP
- 11:01Speaker 4: one app. Now. Disabling this app, which allows migrants to
- 11:06Speaker 4: schedule legal entry appointments, resulted in cancelations for thousands and
- 11:13Speaker 4: thousands of applicants, sending a very clear message that you
- 11:17Speaker 4: can't just come across a wide open southern border and
- 11:20Speaker 4: think we are going to let you stay here. The
- 11:22Speaker 4: app right now does not work. And also, in what
- 11:26Speaker 4: is being described as the biggest and boldest move of
- 11:29Speaker 4: all of these actions, is the present's decision to designate
- 11:34Speaker 4: cartels as terrorists organizations. Classifying certain drug cartels and gangs
- 11:40Speaker 4: such as MS thirteen as foreign terrorist organizations would allow
- 11:44Speaker 4: for aggressive actions to be taken against them, including using
- 11:49Speaker 4: the US military. You combine all of this together, and
- 11:54Speaker 4: this marks a significant shift in US immigration policy, reflecting
- 12:00Speaker 4: a return to an expansion of measures from President Donald
- 12:03Speaker 4: Trump's first term. In translation, Donald Trump made a lot
- 12:08Speaker 4: of promises and he is keeping them, especially when it
- 12:11Speaker 4: comes to securing the southern border.
