- 0:01Speaker 1: Main school officials saying they will not comply with the
- 0:05Speaker 1: Trump administration's agreement to bar transgender athletes. You want to
- 0:12Speaker 1: know what anarchy looks like. These are the same people
- 0:14Speaker 1: that say.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Our democracy is under attack.
- 0:17Speaker 1: They're the ones that refuse to comply with the laws
- 0:20Speaker 1: in this country, whether it's deporting I legal immigrants or
- 0:24Speaker 1: abiding by the federal laws. When it comes to this
- 0:27Speaker 1: issue of protecting women in the sports and the locker
- 0:32Speaker 1: rooms and the bathrooms.
- 0:34Speaker 2: This coming from the Associated Press.
- 0:38Speaker 1: School officials in Maine said Thursday they will not comply
- 0:41Speaker 1: with a proposed agreement from President Donald Trump's administration that
- 0:45Speaker 1: would bar transgender athletes from participating in girls' sports. The
- 0:51Speaker 1: US Health and Human Services said earlier this month that
- 0:54Speaker 1: the Main Department of Education, MAINS Principles Association, and a
- 1:00Speaker 1: high school are each in violation Title nine because of
- 1:05Speaker 1: the participation of transgender athletes. The federal investigation came after
- 1:11Speaker 1: a public spat between Donald Trump and the Democratic government
- 1:14Speaker 1: Maine Governor Jenet Mills about the subject.
- 1:18Speaker 2: The Health Department.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Gave the institutions ten days to comply with a voluntary
- 1:22Speaker 1: agreement to settle the issue by banning the athletes. The
- 1:25Speaker 1: Principals Association, which oversees high school sports in the state,
- 1:30Speaker 1: and School Administrative District fifty one, which includes Greeley High
- 1:35Speaker 1: School where the controversy was erupting, both said they will
- 1:40Speaker 1: not comply with the agreement. The Federal Health Department cited
- 1:45Speaker 1: Greeley High School in the Portland suburb of Cumberland because
- 1:49Speaker 1: of a report that a transgender student won a girls
- 1:52Speaker 1: track competition, and.
- 1:54Speaker 2: There was obviously video of it going viral.
- 1:58Speaker 1: The district set in a letter to the community on
- 2:00Speaker 1: Thursday that it is not complying because it will instead
- 2:07Speaker 1: con you to follow state law and the main Human
- 2:11Speaker 1: Rights Act quote unquote, in other.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Words, screw you to the federal government.
- 2:16Speaker 1: The district statement also said, quote to our students, thank
- 2:19Speaker 1: you for your maturity, perseverance, and dedication to learning through
- 2:24Speaker 1: these distractions. Please continue to lead the way. I'd love
- 2:28Speaker 1: for them to make that statement, but just change a
- 2:30Speaker 1: little bit saying Hey, to women, we're really sorry that
- 2:34Speaker 1: we're forcing you to be in the same locker room
- 2:36Speaker 1: with men showing their dinglings to you, and hey, we're
- 2:39Speaker 1: really sorry that we're allowing men to beat the crap
- 2:42Speaker 1: out of you in sports, and hey, we're really sorry
- 2:44Speaker 1: that we're taking away the chance for you to actually
- 2:49Speaker 1: get college scholarships and win national titles or state titles
- 2:53Speaker 1: or sectional titles, because we're allowing dudes to claim they're
- 2:57Speaker 1: a chick to beat the crap out of you, and
- 3:01Speaker 1: that would be a nice statement. Of course, they're not
- 3:03Speaker 1: going to do that in Maine because they're woke now,
- 3:06Speaker 1: these Marxist socialists and communists, and the Main Principles Association
- 3:11Speaker 1: said in a statement it is also quote bound by
- 3:14Speaker 1: the law, including the Main Human Rights Act, which our
- 3:17Speaker 1: participation policy reflects. A spokesman for the Main Department of
- 3:21Speaker 1: Education referred the matter to the state Attorney General's office,
- 3:24Speaker 1: which did not respond to the AP for a request
- 3:28Speaker 1: for comment.
- 3:29Speaker 2: Now.
- 3:29Speaker 1: The US Department of Health and Human Services also did
- 3:32Speaker 1: not respond to a request for comment. The department said
- 3:36Speaker 1: in a statement earlier this month this we hope the
- 3:40Speaker 1: Main Department of Education, the Main's Main Principal Association, and
- 3:46Speaker 1: the Greeley High School will work with us to come
- 3:48Speaker 1: to an agreement that resource fairness in women's sports. Nils
- 3:53Speaker 1: and Trump, you may remember, sparred over the subject last
- 3:56Speaker 1: month during a meeting of the Governors of the White House.
- 3:59Speaker 1: During that meeting, Trump made it clear that he would
- 4:03Speaker 1: pull federal funding from Maine if the state does not
- 4:05Speaker 1: comply with his executive order barring transittered athletes.
- 4:08Speaker 2: That is again, I don't even like to call it that.
- 4:10Speaker 1: I just say it's dude acting like chicks from women's sports.
- 4:15Speaker 1: Mills responded, we'll see you in court, and Donald Trump
- 4:19Speaker 1: said great. The US Education Department has since concluded that
- 4:23Speaker 1: Maine violated the Title nine anti discrimination law and could
- 4:27Speaker 1: face Justice Department prosecution.
- 4:30Speaker 2: Now, let me just talk about the strategy here when
- 4:35Speaker 2: it comes to this one.
- 4:37Speaker 1: I am all in favor of the law being followed
- 4:42Speaker 1: and the DOJ doing their job to when it comes
- 4:45Speaker 1: to this issue of the law, like I can't, I'm
- 4:48Speaker 1: all in favor of it. I think there are far
- 4:52Speaker 1: too many liberals out there that say, I don't have
- 4:56Speaker 1: to comply with the law. But if Republicans did this,
- 4:58Speaker 1: like you would be arrested. I'm not in favor of
- 5:02Speaker 1: law fare. That's probably a better way of saying it. Okay,
- 5:07Speaker 1: Like I'm not. What I am in favor of is
- 5:09Speaker 1: following the law. And you look at another.
- 5:15Speaker 2: Example of this happened a couple of days ago.
- 5:17Speaker 1: You had Secretary Rawlings saying this in a cabinet meeting
- 5:21Speaker 1: with Donald Trump, and here's what she said on this
- 5:25Speaker 1: other issue of transgender Listen, let.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Me just add to that and thank you. We just
- 5:30Speaker 3: had a wonderful cabinet meeting. I'm all aligned on, certainly
- 5:34Speaker 3: the effort to realign the government. But even at the
- 5:36Speaker 3: US Department of Agriculture, we've canceled three hundred thousand dollars
- 5:40Speaker 3: contract educating on food justice for queer and transgender farmers
- 5:45Speaker 3: in San Francisco. A similar contract we canceled in New
- 5:48Speaker 3: York again educating transgender and queer farmers on food justice
- 5:53Speaker 3: and food equality. I'm not even sure what that means,
- 5:56Speaker 3: but apparently the last administration wanted to put our taxpayer
- 5:59Speaker 3: dollars towards that. We canceled a six hundred thousand dollars
- 6:02Speaker 3: contract in out of Louisiana that was studying the menstrual
- 6:06Speaker 3: cycles of transgender men, a six hundred thousand dollars contract.
- 6:10Speaker 3: We canceled another contract out of a university in the
- 6:13Speaker 3: middle of the country that focused on getting more diversity, equity,
- 6:17Speaker 3: and inclusion into our pest management industry. Again, these are nonsensical.
- 6:23Speaker 3: It makes zero sense to use taxpayer dollars to fund these.
- 6:26Speaker 3: I know, these are just a few examples of the
- 6:28Speaker 3: hundreds in the hundreds.
- 6:30Speaker 2: That we have found.
- 6:31Speaker 1: Well, I got to tell you, like canceling a contract
- 6:36Speaker 1: in New York, education and educating transiend and queer farmers
- 6:41Speaker 1: on food justice and food equality. If you explain this
- 6:45Speaker 1: to the American people the way that Secretary Rawlins just did,
- 6:49Speaker 1: the majority of Americans are going to say, yeah, we
- 6:53Speaker 1: stand with you on this, we get it, we understand it,
- 6:58Speaker 1: we stand with you on we support you on it,
- 7:02Speaker 1: and we're not.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Going to be bullied anymore. To believe that.
- 7:07Speaker 1: We have to believe that a man can be a woman.
- 7:11Speaker 1: We absolutely have to protect women. I still don't understand.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I really don't.
- 7:19Speaker 2: I don't understand.
- 7:20Speaker 1: Where are all the quote feminists, like, where are they?
- 7:24Speaker 1: How are there not more feminists out there that are
- 7:28Speaker 1: protecting women from men destroying their dreams?
- 7:34Speaker 2: I mean, I mean this, it's incredible.
- 7:37Speaker 1: Donald Trump, by the way, was asked a question it
- 7:40Speaker 1: was supposed to be one of those quote I got
- 7:41Speaker 1: you questions in the White House, and he was taking
- 7:44Speaker 1: questions yet again in the Oval office, and there was
- 7:48Speaker 1: a reporter that was there then asked the president a
- 7:52Speaker 1: question about women and men, right the transgender issue.
- 7:56Speaker 2: What is a woman? You ready for this? Here's the
- 7:58Speaker 2: President in his own words.
- 7:59Speaker 4: Early, since Democrats seem to struggle answering this question, I
- 8:02Speaker 4: wanted to ask you what is a woman?
- 8:04Speaker 5: And why is it important that we understand the differenstween
- 8:06Speaker 5: men and men. Well, it's sort of easy to answer
- 8:09Speaker 5: for me, because a woman is somebody that can have
- 8:12Speaker 5: a baby under certain circumstances.
- 8:15Speaker 2: She has a quality.
- 8:17Speaker 5: A woman is a person who's much smarter than a man.
- 8:20Speaker 2: I've always had.
- 8:21Speaker 5: A woman is a person that doesn't give a man
- 8:25Speaker 5: even a chance of success. And a woman is a
- 8:28Speaker 5: person that in many cases has been treated very badly.
- 8:30Speaker 5: Because I think that what happens.
- 8:33Speaker 2: With this crazy, this crazy issue of.
- 8:36Speaker 5: Men being able to play in women's sports is just
- 8:39Speaker 5: ridiculous and very unfair to women and very demeaning to women.
- 8:43Speaker 5: And that's got to be about a ninety four percent.
- 8:45Speaker 5: I read today it was a ninety four percent issue,
- 8:47Speaker 5: and I watched the other day I watched Congressman, a
- 8:51Speaker 5: Democrat congressman fighting for the fact that men should be
- 8:56Speaker 5: allowed to compete essentially in women's sports, And I say,
- 9:01Speaker 5: I hope they keep that going because they'll never win
- 9:03Speaker 5: another election.
- 9:04Speaker 2: That's a big deal.
- 9:05Speaker 5: But women are basically incredible people do so much for
- 9:08Speaker 5: our country, and we love we love our women, and
- 9:11Speaker 5: we're going to take care of our women.
- 9:13Speaker 1: Yeah, how is it if you're a feminist and you
- 9:17Speaker 1: hear that from Donald Trump? How on earth could you
- 9:20Speaker 1: not be in favor of that? Like, what is there
- 9:24Speaker 1: for you to be angry about? How could you be angry?
- 9:29Speaker 1: I listened to that, I'm like the feminists would be like,
- 9:32Speaker 1: okay and get behind that. I can totally get behind that.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And the president saying it's easy. He's standing up for women.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And I never thought i'd see a day where the
- 9:43Speaker 1: Democratic Party would be the one saying that no, women
- 9:45Speaker 1: were going to screw you over, like.
- 9:48Speaker 2: The feminist movement.
- 9:49Speaker 1: You would have thought they would have been the first
- 9:50Speaker 1: one say go men, get the hell out of our
- 9:52Speaker 1: locker rooms, get the hell out of our sports.
- 9:56Speaker 2: You would have thought that that's where this would have gone.
- 10:00Speaker 2: But for some reason, like no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 10:03Speaker 1: We're going to have a radical, crazy world where women
- 10:10Speaker 1: are going to be screwed by men acting like women,
- 10:15Speaker 1: and their lives are going to be changed and their
- 10:18Speaker 1: success is going to be changed.
- 10:19Speaker 2: In sports, I've said this before.
- 10:23Speaker 1: I don't know if I've said it filling in for
- 10:24Speaker 1: Mark or not, but Martina Avertelova, I played tennis in college,
- 10:27Speaker 1: so that's like a I know a lot about obviously
- 10:29Speaker 1: that sport.
- 10:30Speaker 2: And Martina Nevertulovo was a pimier.
- 10:34Speaker 1: She was one of the first, I think maybe the
- 10:37Speaker 1: first like woman to really come out and be like,
- 10:42Speaker 1: I'm a lesbian, and it certainly was going to affect
- 10:45Speaker 1: her career, and she knew it because when she came out,
- 10:49Speaker 1: like it was a long time ago and it was
- 10:52Speaker 1: gonna cost her money, it was going to cost her endorsements,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and she was gonna be ridiculed, Like she knew what
- 10:58Speaker 1: was going to happen, and it was not gonna be good,
- 11:00Speaker 1: all right, Like it was gonna be bad, and there
- 11:03Speaker 1: was a lot of people that like this was but
- 11:05Speaker 1: she did it and she's come out and now the
- 11:09Speaker 1: LGBTQ world has turned on her because she stood up
- 11:13Speaker 1: and said that it's totally insane to allow men to
- 11:18Speaker 1: act like women and compete with women. By the way,
- 11:21Speaker 1: if you want to have a transgender league, I don't care. Okay,
- 11:24Speaker 1: that's that's one of the things. My actually giving a
- 11:27Speaker 1: crap now level is like really low. If you want
- 11:32Speaker 1: to have a transgendered NBA, cool, I'm not gonna watch it.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Maybe other people want too. Fine, you want to have
- 11:38Speaker 1: a transgendered tennis tour. Sure, you want to have a
- 11:42Speaker 1: transgender golf tour. Sure you want to have a transgender
- 11:45Speaker 1: any tour. I don't care, Like do it like like
- 11:48Speaker 1: please do it, like knock yourself out. I really don't
- 11:51Speaker 1: give a crap, Like I don't care, Okay, I don't,
- 11:57Speaker 1: But don't change women's sports to take away from women.
- 12:01Speaker 1: And that is the point that she made, like it
- 12:04Speaker 1: is unfair to have men in women's sports. Whether it's swimming.
- 12:07Speaker 1: We've seen this with Riley Gaines, whether it's volleyball. We've
- 12:12Speaker 1: seen this with with people whose lives have been I mean,
- 12:14Speaker 1: Donald Trump had one of them at the you know
- 12:17Speaker 1: it's joint address to Congress recently, you know, as say
- 12:22Speaker 1: the Union, where there was a woman that he talked
- 12:25Speaker 1: about whose life was altered forever after she had an
- 12:29Speaker 1: actual brain injury from a man acting like a dude,
- 12:34Speaker 1: hitting her in the face with a violent way, with
- 12:39Speaker 1: the speed okay, with the speed of a of a
- 12:45Speaker 1: man spiking a ball. Not able to play after that,
- 12:50Speaker 1: this is what happens. Women are going to also get hurt.
- 12:53Speaker 1: It's not just it's it's not just what happened with
- 13:00Speaker 1: men taking away scholarships. Women are going to get hurt too.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Democrats are saying we're not going to comply. Maine school
- 13:11Speaker 1: officials won't comply with the Trump administration's agreement to bar
- 13:15Speaker 1: transgender athletes. Maine's Governor Jennis Janet Mills speaking of the
- 13:21Speaker 1: press this week, saying we're.
- 13:22Speaker 2: Not budging at all.
- 13:26Speaker 1: One eight seven seven three, eight to one thirty eight eleven.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Let me get to your phone calls now, we'll go
- 13:31Speaker 1: to Danny Welcome. You are on the Markleven Show. Ben
- 13:34Speaker 1: Ferguson filly in for the Great One.
- 13:35Speaker 2: How are you, sir?
- 13:38Speaker 6: Hey, Ben, thank you for taking my call. I've got
- 13:40Speaker 6: one thing to say for the transgender debucle that they
- 13:43Speaker 6: have going on with women's sports. If you're not good
- 13:48Speaker 6: enough to play with the boys, get better. But if
- 13:51Speaker 6: that's not going to be the case. Why do we
- 13:53Speaker 6: even have women's sports to begin with? And you mentioned something,
- 13:57Speaker 6: and I want to drop a few points for you
- 14:00Speaker 6: to expand upon later, because I know you're probably up
- 14:02Speaker 6: against the wall the social security issue. In two years,
- 14:07Speaker 6: I'll be able to collect claim it along with god
- 14:10Speaker 6: knows how many other hundreds of millions of baby boomers.
- 14:13Speaker 6: If it's not there, there is going to be some
- 14:17Speaker 6: serious violence. I am not a proponent of it. I'm
- 14:21Speaker 6: just saying, oh, this isn't going to turn out well
- 14:26Speaker 6: with Boseburg and him going against Trump. Speaker Johnson came
- 14:32Speaker 6: out and said, listen, first of all, we're not a democracy.
- 14:35Speaker 6: We're a constitutional republic. And he came right out and said, listen,
- 14:40Speaker 6: we can dissolve the Supreme Court if we want to.
- 14:43Speaker 6: It only takes the executive and the legislative branch to
- 14:46Speaker 6: do so because there's only one Supreme Court. The rest
- 14:50Speaker 6: are inferior. I don't know where this guy Boseberg gets
- 14:53Speaker 6: off telling the President that he needs to comply with
- 14:56Speaker 6: his wishes and so on and so forth. I mean,
- 14:58Speaker 6: he always wanted to respect judge, but in this case,
- 15:02Speaker 6: I don't think.
- 15:03Speaker 1: So look, I want to fight all of these things
- 15:07Speaker 1: like to the fullest, not out of not out of arrogance,
- 15:13Speaker 1: not even out of like the issue principle. It's because
- 15:16Speaker 1: I think we're gonna win.
- 15:18Speaker 6: Yeah exactly.
- 15:20Speaker 1: But for me, like yeah, but I mean that it's
- 15:24Speaker 1: that For me, it's just that's the issue, like it's
- 15:27Speaker 1: it's it's actually that simple. And I think this administration
- 15:32Speaker 1: is well prepared for this. This administration is not going
- 15:36Speaker 1: to back down. This administration understands what law air looks like.
- 15:40Speaker 1: They're they're in the middle of it yet again here
- 15:43Speaker 1: and they're not gonna concede. They're not gonna concede because
- 15:47Speaker 1: they won an election and the American people have spoken.
- 15:51Speaker 1: And if you want to know how little the left
- 15:54Speaker 1: respects you as a voter, look at what they're doing
- 15:57Speaker 1: to try to destroy your vote. That's what people need
- 16:01Speaker 1: to understand. Let's talk about the lawfair real quick. What
- 16:06Speaker 1: has been the Democrats move to try to stop all this.
- 16:11Speaker 1: It has been lawfare. You have a lot of activist
- 16:14Speaker 1: judges that are out there doing everything they can to
- 16:16Speaker 1: obstruct the present's agenda, not respecting the president or the
- 16:21Speaker 1: will of the people who voted him in overwhelmingly winning
- 16:24Speaker 1: the popular vote as well in every swing state in America.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And that's exactly what has happened with these judges. Now, Unfortunately,
- 16:33Speaker 1: there is a consistent theme in almost all of this,
- 16:37Speaker 1: follow the money. It's almost every single time the same thing,
- 16:42Speaker 1: follow the money. Nearly every activist federal judge obstructing the
- 16:48Speaker 1: present's agenda, Doade says, has one thing in common.
- 16:53Speaker 2: What is it?
- 16:54Speaker 4: Are you surprised at some of the legal efforts and
- 16:58Speaker 4: some of the judges that have way down. There's about
- 17:00Speaker 4: eight or ten now of these cases that are at
- 17:04Speaker 4: least temporary holds. They're being challenged by the DOJ. Are
- 17:08Speaker 4: you surprised by that pushback?
- 17:11Speaker 7: Well, it's the DC circuit is notorious for having a
- 17:15Speaker 7: very far left blias. And when you look at the
- 17:19Speaker 7: people close to some of these judges, who are where
- 17:22Speaker 7: are they working? Are they working at these NGOs they're
- 17:25Speaker 7: getting the other ones getting this money? Does that seem
- 17:28Speaker 7: like a system that lacks corruption? It sounds like corruption
- 17:31Speaker 7: to me.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I mean, you listen to Elon must say that, and
- 17:37Speaker 1: he's just so matter of fact about it. You want
- 17:40Speaker 1: to know why these activists federal judges are obstructing the
- 17:43Speaker 1: President's agenda because they got a spouse or child that's
- 17:46Speaker 1: drawing a major paycheck from a democratic line non governmental agency,
- 17:52Speaker 1: an NNGO, a non governmental office. And so what Donald
- 17:58Speaker 1: Trump has done is this policy have directly undercut these NGOs,
- 18:02Speaker 1: creating a glaring conflict of interest. Now there is some
- 18:06Speaker 1: good news finally on this The appeals court has just
- 18:11Speaker 1: cleared the way for Trump to fire leaders of the
- 18:15Speaker 1: independent federal agencies. The ruling is a major victory quote
- 18:20Speaker 1: unquote for Trump's effort to control regulatory bodies that Congress
- 18:24Speaker 1: intended to operate with some independence. Politico reporting at this
- 18:30Speaker 1: hour that a federal Appier's court has cleared the way
- 18:33Speaker 1: for the president to fire members of the executive branch
- 18:37Speaker 1: boards that oversee federal employee grievances and labor disputes across
- 18:42Speaker 1: the nation. The ruling today is a victory for Trump's
- 18:46Speaker 1: efforts to exert control over the regulatory agencies that, in
- 18:50Speaker 1: my opinion, are clearly been out of control for far
- 18:53Speaker 1: too long that Congress intended to operate with some degree
- 18:57Speaker 1: of independence from the president. Federal laws limit the present's
- 19:02Speaker 1: ability to remove the board members who oversee those agencies.
- 19:06Speaker 1: But the Trump administration has argue those limits are quote unconstitutional.
- 19:11Speaker 1: I'm going to put it this way. Hell, yes they are.
- 19:14Speaker 1: And now we have a court system that's agreeing. President
- 19:18Speaker 1: Donald Trump on Wednesday revealed a chart detailing the reciprocal
- 19:23Speaker 1: tariffs that he will impose on other countries, wanting to
- 19:27Speaker 1: make it very clear to the American people that these
- 19:30Speaker 1: countries are charging us first, so now we are going
- 19:34Speaker 1: to charge them back. China sixty seven percent tariffs charged
- 19:39Speaker 1: to the US, including currency manipulation and trade barriers, was
- 19:43Speaker 1: a perfect example of what Donald Trump was talking about,
- 19:47Speaker 1: and that is exactly why he announced his trade policies
- 19:50Speaker 1: on what he has deemed Liberation Day. Here's the President
- 19:54Speaker 1: in his own words at the White House.
- 19:56Speaker 5: We have some very very good news today and a
- 20:00Speaker 5: lot of good things are happening for our country. Please
- 20:02Speaker 5: sit down, my fellow Americans. This is Liberation Day waiting
- 20:08Speaker 5: for a long time. April second, twenty twenty five will
- 20:14Speaker 5: forever be remembered as the day American industry was reborn,
- 20:19Speaker 5: the day America's destiny was reclaimed, and the day that
- 20:23Speaker 5: we began to make America wealthy again.
- 20:28Speaker 6: Going to make it.
- 20:29Speaker 2: Wealthy, good and wealthy.
- 20:31Speaker 5: For decades, our country has been looted, pillage, raped, and
- 20:35Speaker 5: plundered by nations near and far, both friend and foe alike.
- 20:40Speaker 5: American steel workers, auto workers, farmers, and skilled craftsmen, we
- 20:44Speaker 5: have a lot of them here with us today. They
- 20:47Speaker 5: really suffered gravely. They watched in anguish as foreign leaders
- 20:52Speaker 5: have stolen our jobs. Foreign cheaters have ransacked our factories,
- 20:56Speaker 5: and foreign scavengers have torn apart our once beautiful American dream.
- 21:02Speaker 5: We had an American dream that you don't hear so
- 21:04Speaker 5: much about. You did four years ago, and you are now,
- 21:07Speaker 5: but you know too often, and for many years and
- 21:10Speaker 5: decades even you didn't hear too much about. Our country
- 21:14Speaker 5: and its taxpayers have been ripped off for more than
- 21:17Speaker 5: fifty years. But it is not going to happen anymore.
- 21:21Speaker 5: It's not gonna happen.
- 21:24Speaker 1: The President also making it clear he knows how the
- 21:27Speaker 1: media is going to play this doom and gloom. But
- 21:29Speaker 1: the reality is there's quite a few important groups in
- 21:32Speaker 1: this country that are backing the President's plan, and that
- 21:36Speaker 1: is exactly why the President made it clear to the
- 21:38Speaker 1: world that the day of economics surrender are over who
- 21:42Speaker 1: is behind the president well. The Coalition for a Prosperous
- 21:45Speaker 1: America chairman put out a statement saying, this a permanent,
- 21:49Speaker 1: universal baseline tariff resets the global trade environment and finally
- 21:54Speaker 1: addresses the destructive legacy of decades of misguided free trade policies.
- 22:01Speaker 1: President Trump's decision to implement a baseline tariff is a
- 22:05Speaker 1: game changing shift that prioritizes American manufacturing, protects working class jobs,
- 22:12Speaker 1: and safeguards our economic security from adversaries like China. This
- 22:17Speaker 1: is exactly the type of bold action American needs to
- 22:20Speaker 1: restore its industrial leadership. Today's actions will deliver lasting benefits
- 22:25Speaker 1: the US economy and working class Americans, submitting President Trump's
- 22:30Speaker 1: legacy as the one that ushered in a new golden
- 22:33Speaker 1: age of American industrialization and prosperity. The National Cattleman's Beef
- 22:39Speaker 1: Association put out a statement as well, saying, quote, for
- 22:43Speaker 1: too long, America's family farmers and ranchers have been mistreated
- 22:48Speaker 1: by certain trading partners around the world. President Trump is
- 22:52Speaker 1: taking action to address numerous trade barriers that prevent consumers
- 22:57Speaker 1: overseas from enjoying high quality, wholesome American beef. The NCBA
- 23:03Speaker 1: will continue engaging with the White House to ensure fair
- 23:06Speaker 1: treatment for America's cattle producers around the world and optimize opportunities.
- 23:12Speaker 2: For exports abroad.
- 23:14Speaker 1: The Steel Manufacturers Association also praising Trump, and again, you
- 23:19Speaker 1: will not be hearing these statements from the media, and
- 23:23Speaker 1: that's why I'm giving them to you right now. The
- 23:25Speaker 1: Steel Manufacturers said this, President Trump is a champion of
- 23:29Speaker 1: the domestic steel industry and his America First trade policy
- 23:33Speaker 1: is designed to fight the unfair trade that has harmed
- 23:37Speaker 1: American workers and weakened manufacturing in the United States. The
- 23:41Speaker 1: recently reinvigorated two three two steel tariffs have already started
- 23:46Speaker 1: creating American jobs and bolstering the domestic steel industry. President
- 23:51Speaker 1: Trump is working to turn America into a manufacturing powerhouse,
- 23:55Speaker 1: and the steel tariffs are driving that movement. The Alliance
- 24:00Speaker 1: for American Manufacturing also putting out a statement talking about
- 24:04Speaker 1: this is a game changer for American workers, saying today's
- 24:08Speaker 1: trade action prioritizes domestic manufacturers and the American workers. These
- 24:14Speaker 1: hard working men and women have seen unfair trade cut
- 24:18Speaker 1: the ground from beneath their feet for decades. They deserve
- 24:21Speaker 1: a fighting chance Our workers can out compete anyone in
- 24:25Speaker 1: the world, but they need a level playing field to
- 24:28Speaker 1: do it. This trade reset is a necessary step in
- 24:31Speaker 1: the right direction. The National Electrical Contractors Association CEO also
- 24:37Speaker 1: saying this, President Trump has consistently prioritized policies that put
- 24:41Speaker 1: the electrical industry as a priority, and we recognize as
- 24:46Speaker 1: commitment to strengthening our nation's economy. As these new tariffs
- 24:50Speaker 1: take effect, we look forward to working with the administration
- 24:53Speaker 1: to ensure that electrical contractors in the entire electrical industry
- 24:58Speaker 1: can continue powering a America efficiently while navigating potential costs
- 25:03Speaker 1: and supply chain challenges. These are just some of the
- 25:07Speaker 1: major industries that are backing the President's move. Now, of course,
- 25:12Speaker 1: the media is going to tell you this is a disaster,
- 25:14Speaker 1: that it's going to hurt our economy, that it's starting
- 25:17Speaker 1: a trade war. The President of the United States of
- 25:20Speaker 1: America making it very clear I am here to stand
- 25:24Speaker 1: up for the American worker.
- 25:26Speaker 5: In a few moments, I will sign a historic executive
- 25:29Speaker 5: order instituting reciprocal tariffs on countries throughout the world. Reciprocal
- 25:36Speaker 5: that means they do it to us, and we do
- 25:39Speaker 5: it to them very simple. Can't get any simpler than that.
- 25:46Speaker 5: This is one of the most important days, in my opinion,
- 25:49Speaker 5: in American history. It's our declaration of economic independence. For years,
- 25:56Speaker 5: hard working American citizens were forced to sit on the
- 25:59Speaker 5: sideline as other nations got rich and powerful, much of
- 26:03Speaker 5: it at our expense. But now it's our turn to
- 26:07Speaker 5: prosper and in so doing, use trillions and trillions of
- 26:11Speaker 5: dollars to reduce our taxes and pay down our national debt.
- 26:15Speaker 5: And it'll all happen very quickly. With today's action, we
- 26:19Speaker 5: are finally going to be able to make America great again,
- 26:23Speaker 5: greater than ever before.
- 26:27Speaker 1: President Trump wasn't the only one excited about what this
- 26:31Speaker 1: can do for the country, Speaker Mike Johnson saying President
- 26:34Speaker 1: Trump is sending a clear message with Liberation Day that
- 26:38Speaker 1: America will not be exploited by unfair trade practices anymore.
- 26:43Speaker 1: These tariffs restore fair and reciprocal trade and level the
- 26:47Speaker 1: playing field for American workers and innovators. The President understands
- 26:51Speaker 1: that free trade only works when it's fair. Governor Jeff
- 26:56Speaker 1: Landry of Louisiana, a very important state when it comes
- 26:59Speaker 1: to shipping. This it's pro jobs, pro business, and pro America.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Senator Jim Banks saying the decision by President Trump today
- 27:07Speaker 1: to impose reciprocal tariffs will be so good for Indiana.
- 27:12Speaker 1: Those are the manufacturing jobs that President Trump is bringing
- 27:15Speaker 1: back from overseas. Senator Bill Cassidy saying the President's Trade
- 27:20Speaker 1: a Jenna can pave the way for stronger trade deals,
- 27:23Speaker 1: fairer rules, and real results. I'm excited to work with
- 27:27Speaker 1: President Trump to make it happen. Louisiana workers and families
- 27:30Speaker 1: deserve it, nothing less. And the President wasn't done there.
- 27:34Speaker 1: He also had this to say about the reciprocal tariffs
- 27:38Speaker 1: and why it is working the way that he is
- 27:40Speaker 1: doing it.
- 27:41Speaker 5: The tariffs will be not a full reciprocal I could
- 27:46Speaker 5: have done that, yes, but it would have been tough
- 27:49Speaker 5: for a lot of countries. We didn't want to do that.
- 27:51Speaker 5: I'd like to see the chart. If you have it,
- 27:53Speaker 5: could you bring it up, Howard. This is a great
- 27:57Speaker 5: Secretary of Commerce, Howard Neck. Thanks ally. So if you
- 28:05Speaker 5: look at that China first row, China, sixty seven percent,
- 28:10Speaker 5: that's tariffs charged to the USA, including currency manipulation and
- 28:16Speaker 5: trade barriers, So sixty seven percent. I think you can
- 28:19Speaker 5: for the most part see it those with good eyes
- 28:22Speaker 5: with bad eyes. We didn't want to bring it's very
- 28:24Speaker 5: windy out here. We didn't want to bring out the
- 28:26Speaker 5: big charts because it had no chance of standing. Fortunately,
- 28:30Speaker 5: we came armed with a little smaller charge, so sixty
- 28:34Speaker 5: seven percent. So we're going to be charging a discounted
- 28:37Speaker 5: reciprocal tariff of thirty four percent. I think. In other words,
- 28:41Speaker 5: they charge us, we charge them, we charge them less.
- 28:43Speaker 5: So how can anybody be upset? They will be because
- 28:46Speaker 5: we never charge anybody anything. But now we're going to
- 28:49Speaker 5: charge European Union. They're very tough, very very tough traders.
- 28:56Speaker 5: You know, you think of European Union, very friendly. They
- 28:59Speaker 5: rip us off. It's so sad to see. It's so pathetic.
- 29:03Speaker 5: Thirty nine percent. We're gonna charge them twenty percent, So
- 29:06Speaker 5: we charge you them potentially have Vietnam, great negotiators, great people.
- 29:12Speaker 5: They like me. I like them. The problem is they
- 29:14Speaker 5: charge us ninety percent. We're gonna charge them forty six
- 29:17Speaker 5: percent tariff. Taiwan where they make. They took all of
- 29:22Speaker 5: our computer chips and semiconductors. We used to be the
- 29:26Speaker 5: king right with everything. We had all of it now,
- 29:29Speaker 5: we have almost none of it, except the biggest company
- 29:32Speaker 5: is coming in. They're gonna have We're gonna end up
- 29:33Speaker 5: with almost forty percent. Lee Z Elden's working to get
- 29:36Speaker 5: their approvals and it's an amazing company, mister way of
- 29:41Speaker 5: one of the great companies of the world. Actually, they're
- 29:43Speaker 5: coming in from Taiwan and they're gonna build one of
- 29:46Speaker 5: the biggest plants in the world, maybe the biggest for that,
- 29:49Speaker 5: but sixty four percent, we're gonna charge them thirty two percent.
- 29:52Speaker 5: Japan very very tough, great people, and again I don't
- 29:57Speaker 5: blame the people for doing it. It's I think they're
- 30:00Speaker 5: very smart in to it. And I blame the people that
- 30:02Speaker 5: sat right in that Oval office right over there, right
- 30:05Speaker 5: behind the resolute desk. Whichever deak they chose. Japan forty
- 30:10Speaker 5: six percent, they would charge us forty six percent and
- 30:13Speaker 5: much higher for certain items like cars, you know, little
- 30:16Speaker 5: items like cars, forty six percent. We're charging him twenty
- 30:20Speaker 5: four percent. India very very tough, very very tough. The
- 30:25Speaker 5: Prime Minister just left. He's a great friend of mine,
- 30:28Speaker 5: But I said, you're a friend of mine, but you're
- 30:30Speaker 5: not treating us right. They charged us fifty two percent.
- 30:34Speaker 5: You have to understand, we charge them almost nothing for
- 30:36Speaker 5: years and years and decades, and it was only seven
- 30:40Speaker 5: years ago when I came in. We started with China
- 30:44Speaker 5: charged it. We took in hundreds of billions of dollars
- 30:47Speaker 5: from China in tariffs, and they understood. Honestly, Presidency understood.
- 30:53Speaker 5: He said, look, I understand, and the other countries and
- 30:56Speaker 5: they all understand. We're gonna have to go through a
- 30:58Speaker 5: little tough love maybe, but they all understand they're ripping
- 31:02Speaker 5: us off and they understood it.
- 31:04Speaker 1: So the big takeaway from the President of the United
- 31:06Speaker 1: States of America is this, these are countries that are
- 31:10Speaker 1: doing this to us first and have been doing it
- 31:12Speaker 1: at a much higher rate. We are not going back
- 31:15Speaker 1: with the same number that they're putting on our goods
- 31:18Speaker 1: and services. And this is a time for us to
- 31:21Speaker 1: have free and fair trade where America is not being
- 31:24Speaker 1: taken advantage of. There is no doubt that the media
- 31:27Speaker 1: is going to use this moment to attack the president.
- 31:30Speaker 1: But remember the people that I told you about earlier
- 31:34Speaker 1: in their statements, real American workers organizations saying it is
- 31:38Speaker 1: long overdue and this is going to be good for
- 31:41Speaker 1: America long term. That is exactly why the President's calling
- 31:45Speaker 1: it Liberation Day and why so many American workers are
- 31:49Speaker 1: celebrating this big win. Make sure you share this podcast
- 31:53Speaker 1: wherever you can on social media, and I will see
- 31:56Speaker 1: you back here tomorrow
