- 1:30Speaker 1: a wife, mother of four, entrepreneur, and a TV personality
- 1:34Speaker 1: where she is the start of own networks Love and
- 1:36Speaker 1: Marriage Huntsville. The show's first season. Now it ranked number
- 1:40Speaker 1: one in this time slot across all broadcasts and cable
- 1:44Speaker 1: with African American women and total viewers. She is currently
- 1:47Speaker 1: the advisor to the College of Business and Public Affairs
- 1:50Speaker 1: at Alabama and M University and she's a proud member
- 1:53Speaker 1: of Africa for Affle Serrity Incorporated. She's on the show
- 1:57Speaker 1: to day to talk about the second season on Love
- 1:59Speaker 1: and Mary H. Hunts Field. New episodes started airing Saturday
- 2:02Speaker 1: July at level at a PM owned an owned network.
- 2:06Speaker 1: We'll be discussing the new Democratic nomineque Kamala Harris. Because
- 2:10Speaker 1: she's like that. She's everywhere living and raising the family
- 2:13Speaker 1: and COVID nineteen, becoming a social media influencer. She's a star, y'all.
- 2:18Speaker 1: I'm telling your engagements off the change. She's a free
- 2:22Speaker 1: she has these free master class series on her Instagram account.
- 2:25Speaker 1: We're really gonna talk about that because that's really what
- 2:27Speaker 1: I'm excited about. Her branching out last time we talked,
- 2:29Speaker 1: that's what I wanted to do, start building her brand,
- 2:32Speaker 1: her skin care line, and most importantly, the hit reality
- 2:35Speaker 1: show Love and Marriage hunt Field. Please welcome the money
- 2:38Speaker 1: making conversations. Melody s hoped, what's up Ruging McDonald? How
- 2:44Speaker 1: are you doing it? Everybody who's telling somebody in conversations today,
- 2:48Speaker 1: I'm glad to be with you. Good, good, Well, I've
- 2:51Speaker 1: to tell you something. You know the life that I
- 2:53Speaker 1: I appreciate about you, Melody? You know? Uh? And is
- 2:57Speaker 1: that you? For some interviewed you on a power couple series.
- 3:03Speaker 1: There was always a desire to be to build your brand,
- 3:07Speaker 1: and I'm seeing it evolved. Tell us the steps that
- 3:09Speaker 1: you put in place to make this happen? You know
- 3:13Speaker 1: what I will tell you this when it comes to
- 3:15Speaker 1: brand building, you know, I've been working on that for
- 3:17Speaker 1: some years now, um, and what I've learned, I've had
- 3:20Speaker 1: some ups and downs, you know, some trial and errors
- 3:22Speaker 1: when it's come to that. But what I've learned is
- 3:24Speaker 1: that it's important to have a team, right, a team
- 3:28Speaker 1: of people who first of all, believe in you. Because
- 3:31Speaker 1: when somebody believes in you, then they're willing to put
- 3:33Speaker 1: in as much work as you to make sure you
- 3:35Speaker 1: get to where you're trying to go. So you have
- 3:37Speaker 1: to find people who believe in you, who believe in
- 3:39Speaker 1: what you're trying to do, um, and just surrounding yourself
- 3:42Speaker 1: with people who are like minded. Um. You know, recently
- 3:46Speaker 1: on last Saturday's episode, you guys got to see our team, right,
- 3:50Speaker 1: and so on one side of the table you had
- 3:53Speaker 1: three people from l A who are part of our
- 3:55Speaker 1: branding team. And on another side of the table, you
- 3:58Speaker 1: had Alabama natives who are based right here out of
- 4:01Speaker 1: Birmingham and they're part of our branding team. So we
- 4:05Speaker 1: have people, you know, who believe in us, who who's
- 4:07Speaker 1: worked with us for a while now and who are
- 4:10Speaker 1: pushing forward to make sure that we get to the
- 4:11Speaker 1: girls who we're trying to get too. So when it
- 4:13Speaker 1: comes to branding UM, it's all about having the right
- 4:15Speaker 1: team and the right people in your corner. Hands down.
- 4:18Speaker 1: We know, like that's important because like my name is
- 4:20Speaker 1: on the usual Rashan Rashan McDonald's my name. And so
- 4:23Speaker 1: when when people said, you know, always always get a
- 4:26Speaker 1: kick out of it because of the fact that that
- 4:28Speaker 1: means that my message is getting out there about me.
- 4:31Speaker 1: But more importantly, when you say you have a team
- 4:33Speaker 1: in l a which I love, and then you have
- 4:35Speaker 1: a team in Alabama, which means that that keeps it
- 4:38Speaker 1: more authentic because they kind of know the lifestyle. Because
- 4:42Speaker 1: everybody I hate when people come in the room and go,
- 4:44Speaker 1: I know, you know you don't you just seen me
- 4:46Speaker 1: on TV Fact fact, and like you're saying, you know,
- 4:50Speaker 1: those the people who understand those grass roots who understand
- 4:53Speaker 1: Alabama history, Alabama heritage, and how you can pull those
- 4:56Speaker 1: things in together. And then some of my team, like
- 4:58Speaker 1: I said, they're you know, right from Birmingham. So in
- 5:00Speaker 1: terms of that whole piece of history when it comes
- 5:03Speaker 1: to the the civil rights, when it comes to UM, Birmingham, Staffel,
- 5:07Speaker 1: UM and all of that and I'm being able to
- 5:09Speaker 1: find ways to pull me in with that. I mean,
- 5:11Speaker 1: it's been amazing. So I'm so thankful. I thank God
- 5:14Speaker 1: every day for the amazing people he's put around me.
- 5:17Speaker 1: For sure. Now let's talk about that, because you said
- 5:19Speaker 1: something interesting. This is I'm really you know something. I
- 5:22Speaker 1: love talking to you because the energy is there and
- 5:25Speaker 1: I know you're hidden in the direction that you have
- 5:28Speaker 1: a plan for. Like you said, Richean, this didn't start
- 5:31Speaker 1: with with with this this reality show. I was hitting
- 5:34Speaker 1: down this direction all along, and I just this is
- 5:37Speaker 1: really accelerated it absolutely absolutely. So what is your brain?
- 5:41Speaker 1: What brand are you trying to design? Like I said earlier,
- 5:44Speaker 1: let me just say what I said. I said the wife,
- 5:46Speaker 1: mother for entrepreneur, uh, master classes on Instagram and clown
- 5:52Speaker 1: social media influencer. What is your brain? If you're trying
- 5:55Speaker 1: to be yes and all of that is a part
- 5:57Speaker 1: of my brand. You know who I am, what I
- 6:00Speaker 1: pushed for. What I advocate for, UM being a mom,
- 6:03Speaker 1: being a wife, being UM still being able to be
- 6:05Speaker 1: a boss and at the same time empowering others UM
- 6:09Speaker 1: specifically for me as women, UM finding ways to empower
- 6:13Speaker 1: others so you know, I have my master class that
- 6:15Speaker 1: I do where I'm actually right now doing live series
- 6:18Speaker 1: where I'm getting free knowledge and free information by bringing
- 6:20Speaker 1: on guests who've reached certain amounts of success and their
- 6:23Speaker 1: careers and their lives. Then of course i have my
- 6:26Speaker 1: master class with Melody Hope Preservation Academy where I'm helping
- 6:29Speaker 1: people get into this multibillion dollar industry called property preservation.
- 6:33Speaker 1: So I have and it mostly consistent women. So I
- 6:36Speaker 1: have women who I've helped in terms of getting their
- 6:38Speaker 1: e I N setting up lcs, getting business checking accounts,
- 6:41Speaker 1: and then ultimately getting contacts and getting work orders that
- 6:44Speaker 1: they're able to complete and make money. So um, you know,
- 6:48Speaker 1: it's one of those things where for me, my brand
- 6:51Speaker 1: consists of you know, business. I'm a home builder, so
- 6:55Speaker 1: being a being in business, but also being a wife,
- 6:57Speaker 1: being a mom, and also helping others and bring them
- 7:00Speaker 1: along on that journey. Now, this is really important that
- 7:02Speaker 1: we're the reason I wanted to bring on the show
- 7:04Speaker 1: because we all know TV. They get in the editing room,
- 7:08Speaker 1: they tell a story they want to take off for ratings.
- 7:10Speaker 1: You know, it can it could be annoying, it could
- 7:12Speaker 1: be a very annoying to you Saturday night after the air,
- 7:15Speaker 1: So it could be they said, because you know that
- 7:17Speaker 1: can reflect on what people think. Okay, and live in
- 7:20Speaker 1: the reflection. Okay, you are an attractive or beautiful woman
- 7:24Speaker 1: and you are in ma. You need to stop, you
- 7:27Speaker 1: need to stop. You know you, you know you know
- 7:29Speaker 1: you got it going on. Four kids, don't look like
- 7:31Speaker 1: you have one child. I'm gonna stop, stop stop, and
- 7:35Speaker 1: so so and so and then and then the reason
- 7:39Speaker 1: when I saw the when I saw the series, the
- 7:42Speaker 1: Master Class series, that's the side that I'm bringing it
- 7:45Speaker 1: on the show to talk about, you know, not any
- 7:48Speaker 1: any picture because of the fact that you know your
- 7:51Speaker 1: your your your attractiveness, and the reality show who you
- 7:56Speaker 1: really are can get lost and you're lost in your
- 8:00Speaker 1: gain and knowing you is that you are an empowering person.
- 8:04Speaker 1: You bought uplifting people, and you're about allowing women, especially
- 8:08Speaker 1: entrepreneur why women an opportunity to be successful? Thank you,
- 8:15Speaker 1: thank you, And that's important. It's about and that's why
- 8:20Speaker 1: I wanted to bring your class. So let's talk about
- 8:22Speaker 1: Let's go back to the first, you know, fingering their
- 8:25Speaker 1: file before we get to the skincare and these other things. Okay,
- 8:27Speaker 1: let's you know home, because you talk about I'm gonna.
- 8:30Speaker 1: Last time I was talking to you, you wasn't talking
- 8:32Speaker 1: this fast. You had that, you had that little southern
- 8:35Speaker 1: drawl down pat. Now you all New York, New York,
- 8:38Speaker 1: kissing everything, talking fast and just everyone. No, I'm not.
- 8:43Speaker 1: I'm gonna. Yes, you know I let me tell you.
- 8:45Speaker 1: I have had to learn to talk. Lets go down. Then,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I have learned to talk fast only because I'm always
- 8:52Speaker 1: doing a million different things, right, so I'm used to
- 8:55Speaker 1: getting and get it out. Let's go, let's move okay,
- 8:57Speaker 1: and what's next? So you know what. I appreciate that
- 9:00Speaker 1: almost slow it down? How about slow down? Slow it down,
- 9:03Speaker 1: slow it down to the don't slow it down because
- 9:08Speaker 1: I'm to yourself. If I'm in a Ferrari, I don't
- 9:11Speaker 1: want to drive in the volks well, but I don't
- 9:12Speaker 1: want Volkswagen speed, and I want to Ferrari speed because
- 9:15Speaker 1: you're a Ferrari right now. You know I met you
- 9:18Speaker 1: you as a porch. Now you're a Ferrari. You know
- 9:20Speaker 1: you out, You don't get you. You're Ferrari. Now, now
- 9:27Speaker 1: let's talk about this Ferrari, this master class how did
- 9:29Speaker 1: this idea come up? And each one? That's what I love. See.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Sometimes I get mad at you what a great idea
- 9:36Speaker 1: because right there, because right there you have the title
- 9:40Speaker 1: of what that class is about on each each each
- 9:45Speaker 1: date in the photo. Now, let's talk about this, because
- 9:48Speaker 1: you talk about you have a team in Atlanta, a
- 9:50Speaker 1: team and in Alabama, in the South and the west.
- 9:53Speaker 1: You got Hollywood, West and the Southeast. You got all
- 9:56Speaker 1: this going on, got good food, you got your but story.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Ken't go on the grocery store without people. Look. Thank
- 10:02Speaker 1: God for facial mask because now you can go on
- 10:04Speaker 1: the grocery store and shot I am on the day.
- 10:10Speaker 1: So let's let's talk about this, the incubating and the
- 10:13Speaker 1: development period of the master class that's on your Instagram account.
- 10:17Speaker 1: Absolutely so let me tell you again, this goes back
- 10:20Speaker 1: to having an amazing team. Right. So, my graphic person
- 10:23Speaker 1: who's a partment team has been working with for sometime now.
- 10:26Speaker 1: You know, he handles my website, handles my flyers, um
- 10:30Speaker 1: all of that, and everyone who's around me or works
- 10:32Speaker 1: with me knows. Look, I'm not one of those people
- 10:34Speaker 1: who feel like I know everything. I make it clear
- 10:38Speaker 1: to them if y'all have an idea. If you have
- 10:39Speaker 1: a suggestion or if I'm giving out an idea that
- 10:42Speaker 1: you just think it's crap and no good, like, feel
- 10:45Speaker 1: free to talk to me. Like we we just have
- 10:48Speaker 1: all of us have that kind of open to me.
- 10:49Speaker 1: You have some people who are in charge who don't
- 10:51Speaker 1: think anybody can tell them anything, or they don't want
- 10:53Speaker 1: anybody to go against what they say. My team knows
- 10:56Speaker 1: that's not need so they are all very comfortable with
- 10:59Speaker 1: sharing idea us with me. Right, So long story short. Um,
- 11:02Speaker 1: my graphic person, Um, we were working on something that
- 11:05Speaker 1: he was like, you know what, he was like, what
- 11:07Speaker 1: do you think about? Um? I think it would be
- 11:09Speaker 1: a good opportunity for you to do something where you're
- 11:11Speaker 1: actually doing like a class. So it started from there. Um,
- 11:15Speaker 1: we went into conversation. Then they go to a what
- 11:17Speaker 1: am I an effort in? Well, I'm an expert in
- 11:20Speaker 1: what I've been doing the past ten years, what I've
- 11:22Speaker 1: been doing the past teen years as being in this
- 11:23Speaker 1: what has been a male dominated, extra white male dominated
- 11:26Speaker 1: industry for a very long time called property preservation. And
- 11:29Speaker 1: that's what I've been able to do for ten years.
- 11:31Speaker 1: That's what allowed me to resign from teaching UM after
- 11:34Speaker 1: three years and has ultimately allowed me to be a
- 11:37Speaker 1: soul entrepreneur UM so as my only source of income.
- 11:41Speaker 1: So I say, so entrepreneurs. So you know, it's one
- 11:43Speaker 1: of those things where it was like, Okay, that's what
- 11:46Speaker 1: I'm an effort in, and that's the game I'm about
- 11:48Speaker 1: to teach. So hence came the master Class with Melody
- 11:51Speaker 1: or Whole Preservation Academy idea. And so under Master Class
- 11:55Speaker 1: with Melody, you have the Whole Preservation Academy, which is
- 11:57Speaker 1: where I teach about property preservation. I at about fifty
- 12:00Speaker 1: students go through my class so far. UM, it has
- 12:04Speaker 1: been amazing. They all get a personal touch for me.
- 12:07Speaker 1: I have Zoom meetings. I have one tonight. I have
- 12:09Speaker 1: Zoom meetings with them on Monday night. UM usually last
- 12:12Speaker 1: an hour to an hour and a half. They all
- 12:13Speaker 1: get my personal cell numbers, so I'm communicating with them
- 12:16Speaker 1: through the week via text, via phone UM. And it's
- 12:19Speaker 1: definitely very personable, very personal, and very one on one.
- 12:23Speaker 1: So I've got about Like I said, I'm on my
- 12:25Speaker 1: second class right now, so I've had a total about
- 12:27Speaker 1: fifty students go through my class. And then UM I
- 12:30Speaker 1: decided from there, I wanted to do something UM that
- 12:33Speaker 1: was kind of more regular and for anybody who's interested
- 12:37Speaker 1: in anything about business, not just property preservation. So I
- 12:40Speaker 1: put together this Instagram Life series. So we've had Mr
- 12:44Speaker 1: Donahue Baker and Donahue Baker, he was with me last week.
- 12:47Speaker 1: We discussed UM, you know, different ways to get funding,
- 12:50Speaker 1: how to own UM multiple he has like over five
- 12:53Speaker 1: hundred units that he that he owns, so you know,
- 12:56Speaker 1: just different ways that you can make money and use
- 12:58Speaker 1: money to capitalize and more money UM. Then we've got
- 13:02Speaker 1: Mr O'Neill Parker who's coming in on tomorrow, twenty six
- 13:05Speaker 1: years old, owns over two million in real estate UM
- 13:08Speaker 1: and it's big on investing, so we've got him coming in.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Then we've got Duane Youre Wilkerson who's going to talk
- 13:14Speaker 1: about turning your talent into profits UM. Chassidy Shepherd UM
- 13:18Speaker 1: who's also part of my PR team. She's gonna come
- 13:21Speaker 1: in and talk about your business is your brand so
- 13:23Speaker 1: giving tips and things for people who are trying to
- 13:26Speaker 1: build a brand. And then we have Msterical Harwell, who
- 13:29Speaker 1: is the guru when it comes to business credit and
- 13:31Speaker 1: personal credit. She's going to come in and talk about that.
- 13:34Speaker 1: So again, free information, free knowledge, free gyms being dropped
- 13:38Speaker 1: for people you know who are trying to still make
- 13:41Speaker 1: twenty twenty. Make sure we're still sharpening our vision in
- 13:43Speaker 1: twenty twenty to fight all the upset that we've had
- 13:45Speaker 1: this year. Okay, now, is this gonna become a YouTube channel?
- 13:49Speaker 1: Because that's where I feel it should go. You know
- 13:52Speaker 1: that's what you feel was you know why? Um, I
- 13:54Speaker 1: like that idea? So you dropped an idea on just
- 13:59Speaker 1: a beauty of of what you're doing. Okay, First of all,
- 14:02Speaker 1: you know you know it's finally here, the season of celebration,

- 16:07Speaker 1: little the burdy ha. You know what I'm saying. They

- 16:28Speaker 1: take it on to the finish line and throw that
- 16:30Speaker 1: touchdown shoulder because style. Because this is what I love
- 16:34Speaker 1: about you. Okay. First of all, you do not deny
- 16:37Speaker 1: that your mom and you're committed to being a mom. Okay.
- 16:40Speaker 1: And that's what and that's where the modern day, especially
- 16:45Speaker 1: black women need to see that. Guess what And that's
- 16:50Speaker 1: why I wanted you on the show to tell your story.
- 16:52Speaker 1: No no, no, no, no no. This is start with
- 16:54Speaker 1: love and marriage Huntsville. That was part of the mission. Okay,
- 16:59Speaker 1: that was part of the land. See Love and Marriage
- 17:01Speaker 1: Huntsville is just part of It's more like, you know,
- 17:03Speaker 1: you you look at your chart and you have all
- 17:05Speaker 1: these options of what you can do, and you put
- 17:07Speaker 1: this on the sheriff as an opportunity. It happened, and
- 17:10Speaker 1: you're gonna move forward because of the fact that you
- 17:12Speaker 1: you've told me Richard, when you're not gonna get together,
- 17:15Speaker 1: because of the fact that you know there are the
- 17:17Speaker 1: other options that you want to do besides that. You
- 17:20Speaker 1: I see talk show and I go, okay, if you're
- 17:22Speaker 1: preparing with this Instagram Instagram, people can't find that. But
- 17:26Speaker 1: you can do this on a YouTube channel and you
- 17:29Speaker 1: can build subscribers and then you become a phenomenon. And
- 17:33Speaker 1: that's why I want to take that out of I
- 17:35Speaker 1: wanted That's what I had to do with my Money
- 17:37Speaker 1: Making Conversations platform. I was all on social media and
- 17:40Speaker 1: then when I opened my Money Making Conversation YouTube channel,
- 17:44Speaker 1: it really showed me who I was. And because a
- 17:47Speaker 1: lot of people think I'm a baker. They see all
- 17:49Speaker 1: those cakes and everything, but when they go over their
- 17:50Speaker 1: money making conversation, that's who I am and they respect that.
- 17:54Speaker 1: Now when I see you doing these master classes, if
- 17:57Speaker 1: you start setting up your YouTube channel, when they go
- 18:00Speaker 1: over there, they know that has nothing nothing to do
- 18:03Speaker 1: with with with with anything else but making people better,
- 18:07Speaker 1: and especially women of color, they can be better if
- 18:10Speaker 1: they follow your advice. And that's why I recommended each
- 18:12Speaker 1: one of these classes should be put over there, because
- 18:15Speaker 1: what happens is as you start building momentum and YouTube,
- 18:18Speaker 1: every time you upload a new show, and alert goes
- 18:22Speaker 1: out to your fan base that's on YouTube, and you
- 18:26Speaker 1: should do that. You gotta do that. You gotta do that.
- 18:28Speaker 1: And so this is just a shortly a short five
- 18:30Speaker 1: weeks series, right, Um, yes, well it's exactly two weeks,
- 18:35Speaker 1: so it's not a personal week. I've got two people
- 18:37Speaker 1: coming on this week, two people coming on next week,
- 18:39Speaker 1: and then I'm going to launch another series with another,
- 18:43Speaker 1: um you know, different gas. But I appreciate and I'm
- 18:46Speaker 1: thankful for everything you said, and I'll definitely take that
- 18:48Speaker 1: to my team. UM. I do have a YouTube channel already.
- 18:52Speaker 1: I just haven't been uploading this content to it, UM,
- 18:54Speaker 1: But I appreciate that because that's an amazing idea. UM.
- 18:57Speaker 1: And I think that one thing I want to her
- 19:00Speaker 1: phone that you mentioned was about being able to do
- 19:03Speaker 1: a lot even though your mom. Um. That's one thing
- 19:06Speaker 1: to be honest that I want people to know is that,
- 19:08Speaker 1: you know, mom, you can still be an awesome mom
- 19:11Speaker 1: and still go after your dreams and goes at the
- 19:13Speaker 1: same time too. Is it gonna be easy? No, it
- 19:15Speaker 1: is does make it a little more difficult, but it's possible.
- 19:18Speaker 1: I literally just had my baby in my hand and
- 19:21Speaker 1: my phone in the other hand, in my laptop sending
- 19:24Speaker 1: my lap Yeah, I mean, if you're right. So you know,
- 19:29Speaker 1: it's kind of one of those things where you just
- 19:31Speaker 1: do what you have to do, UM and make no excuses,
- 19:35Speaker 1: because there there are no excuses, even with all my kids.
- 19:37Speaker 1: You know, I can remember, um, my first daughter, Mariah,
- 19:41Speaker 1: because we kept her at home for like a year
- 19:44Speaker 1: before we actually put her in daycare, and so I
- 19:46Speaker 1: can remember taking her to the office with me, UM,
- 19:49Speaker 1: having a playpen. There's an office for her. Like, you
- 19:51Speaker 1: just make it happen, you know, you do what you
- 19:54Speaker 1: have to do to make it happen. So you know,
- 19:57Speaker 1: all the moms out there, the hard working moms. I
- 20:00Speaker 1: want you guys to know, like, hey, keep pushing. You
- 20:03Speaker 1: can do it. Um, So what if you don't, if
- 20:06Speaker 1: you don't have a big support system, So what don't
- 20:08Speaker 1: let that be an excuse. Figure it out, make it happen.
- 20:12Speaker 1: And That's what I'm all about, is making it happen.
- 20:14Speaker 1: She is a former middle school teacher and entrepreneurs sought
- 20:17Speaker 1: after speaker. You just heard the talk, man. You know,
- 20:20Speaker 1: I could just like just shut up. I could ask
- 20:22Speaker 1: you by folk questions. She's taken about twenty minutes of
- 20:25Speaker 1: my good time. That's how good she is. Like her,
- 20:29Speaker 1: I just I just say something. I just I just
- 20:30Speaker 1: brilliantly say I'll ask you a question. And you just articulated.
- 20:34Speaker 1: And I appreciate that. I appreciate that. And you know,
- 20:37Speaker 1: I'm just being I just like to keep it real.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'm very straightforward. I'm very you know, undest and direct.
- 20:41Speaker 1: And you know, it's one of those things, like you said,
- 20:43Speaker 1: it's not easy, but it's possible. And of course with God,
- 20:46Speaker 1: all things are possible. To remind yourself where your strength
- 20:49Speaker 1: and where your help comes from. And I say this
- 20:51Speaker 1: all the time. God is my source. Man, it's not
- 20:53Speaker 1: my source. God is my source. God is my source
- 20:56Speaker 1: of my strength. God is my source of my faith.
- 20:58Speaker 1: God is my source of my money. God is my source. UM.
- 21:01Speaker 1: So you have to just remind yourself of that. Um.
- 21:05Speaker 1: And you know, while you're working hard as a female
- 21:07Speaker 1: and you're trying to make these moves, also, I believe,
- 21:10Speaker 1: and you're feeling good about yourself and you're feeling like,
- 21:14Speaker 1: you know, you're happy with what you wake up and
- 21:16Speaker 1: see in the mornings when you look in the mirror,
- 21:17Speaker 1: which is hint why I created Embraced Beauty with transition.
- 21:22Speaker 1: Stop stop stop. You saw she just transition. She didn't
- 21:25Speaker 1: even let me ask the question. And that's why I
- 21:28Speaker 1: see you would look good more. And that's why, and
- 21:31Speaker 1: that's why I created Embraced Beauty and Premier School Caroline
- 21:34Speaker 1: and coming soon. The line of projects includes plans and
- 21:36Speaker 1: tone of emotions and not with you, my God. You
- 21:41Speaker 1: ask me. It's a pandemic, y'all. It's a pandemic, y'all,
- 21:45Speaker 1: And I'm doing it. I don't know what y'all doing,
- 21:47Speaker 1: but I'm telling you what I'm doing, I am generating revenue.
- 21:52Speaker 1: But you know that's why, that's why it's important Melody
- 21:56Speaker 1: that you I'm telling you because you're my feet on
- 21:59Speaker 1: my on my Instagram. So I popped you your pop photo.
- 22:02Speaker 1: Pop up this girl just doing it. Look at she
- 22:05Speaker 1: is over there just posing and just just leaving people.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Your your engagement and you become a social media for now,
- 22:12Speaker 1: we're gonna get back to embraced. Don't worry about that.
- 22:14Speaker 1: You know, but but but but embraced is tied to
- 22:17Speaker 1: the brand that you created, especially in social media. I
- 22:23Speaker 1: got the I got the you know, the love and
- 22:26Speaker 1: the Love and Marriage hunt Field Show. But did you
- 22:29Speaker 1: expect the engagement and the growth and social media that
- 22:32Speaker 1: you've gotten? Um? I don't feel like I had any
- 22:37Speaker 1: expectations when it came to the you know, because I
- 22:39Speaker 1: wasn't doing it. The things that I've done, I wasn't
- 22:42Speaker 1: doing them, um thinking of like, oh is this gonna
- 22:46Speaker 1: make me more popular? Of this? I just believe in
- 22:48Speaker 1: doing what I feel like it's my purpose and whatever
- 22:51Speaker 1: happens happened. So I tell people, I never have been
- 22:53Speaker 1: one of the chase for celebrity. However, celebrity lines up
- 22:56Speaker 1: with my purpose, then so be it. Um So for me,
- 22:59Speaker 1: it was always be chasing my division, my purpose, and
- 23:02Speaker 1: my goals. Um So, definitely that's a plus now that
- 23:06Speaker 1: I do have. It has allowed me to be able
- 23:08Speaker 1: to reach more people, to have a bigger audience, and
- 23:11Speaker 1: ultimately be able to share my story and my life
- 23:13Speaker 1: experiences while encouraging people along the way. That's a major
- 23:16Speaker 1: plus for me. But it was never the end goal
- 23:18Speaker 1: for me, if that makes sense. Absolutely. What I like
- 23:22Speaker 1: about you is that, you know you you learned to pivot.
- 23:25Speaker 1: You see an opportunity, you flesh it out, and you
- 23:28Speaker 1: you seize it. But he sees with a plan that
- 23:31Speaker 1: way that the like you told earlier in the conversation,
- 23:34Speaker 1: you usually limited. H I failed, you know, but I
- 23:37Speaker 1: don't let that fair stop me for being successful. I
- 23:40Speaker 1: learned from it. So now, so now let's get back
- 23:42Speaker 1: to Embrace. Because I pulled up the website. See see,
- 23:44Speaker 1: I had to get I got I used to get
- 23:46Speaker 1: a little conversation right there, so I get back ahead
- 23:48Speaker 1: of the curve of this conversation about the embraced embraced
- 23:50Speaker 1: beauty foam, embraced beauty toner body, butter, beauty body. Oh
- 23:56Speaker 1: the moisterizer commings soon the body lowers your comments suit
- 23:59Speaker 1: and the a prime of coming to Let's talk about
- 24:01Speaker 1: this embration got you beautiful? I love this. You're beautiful,
- 24:05Speaker 1: embrace it. Come on absolutely So you know, UM, thank
- 24:10Speaker 1: you so much. I mean, I just a wow. I
- 24:12Speaker 1: appreciate you allow me to share you know, my info
- 24:15Speaker 1: on your platform. Thank you so much for that. Um.
- 24:18Speaker 1: So really was when I was growing up, I suffered
- 24:20Speaker 1: from something called pitty riots is rosation, which is pretty
- 24:23Speaker 1: much just a dry rash. So um, you know, it
- 24:26Speaker 1: was something I used to complain about and so my
- 24:28Speaker 1: that's with my great grandmother share with me a secret
- 24:31Speaker 1: um of something to use to help me. Um, when
- 24:34Speaker 1: I would have these breakouts, usually during the fall months
- 24:37Speaker 1: with this petty riots is rosation. So what I decided
- 24:40Speaker 1: to do is, I um wanted to create a skincare
- 24:43Speaker 1: line that incorporated that for people who have that kind
- 24:47Speaker 1: of an issue or issues with dry skins. So I
- 24:50Speaker 1: do have and of course I do a line, so
- 24:53Speaker 1: I'm always having to have my face beat and have
- 24:56Speaker 1: makeup on. However, I've always been adamant on making sure
- 25:00Speaker 1: or that underneath that that my skin is still glowing,
- 25:03Speaker 1: that my skin is still healthy. Because your skin is
- 25:05Speaker 1: the largest piece of your body, so you got to
- 25:07Speaker 1: take care of it. Um. So for me, for me,
- 25:10Speaker 1: I UM just definitely said, you know, I want to
- 25:13Speaker 1: put these things together along with the things my great
- 25:15Speaker 1: grandmother has shared with me and put it into a product.
- 25:17Speaker 1: So I have a cleanser. Um. It's really um, to
- 25:20Speaker 1: be honest, it's what. It's a everyday regiment that you
- 25:22Speaker 1: can use as a cleanser, a toner moisturizes than a
- 25:26Speaker 1: lip primer, which of course you would put your lip
- 25:28Speaker 1: primer on before you put on your you know, litt
- 25:30Speaker 1: gloss or lipstick or things of that nature. Um. And
- 25:33Speaker 1: so that has been amazing. UM. I actually premiered it
- 25:37Speaker 1: on the show earlier, refilmed it, I think the first
- 25:40Speaker 1: part in the January, right before the pandemic. UM. And
- 25:43Speaker 1: then for me being pregnant, of course, when you're pregnant,
- 25:46Speaker 1: you have itchy skin, you have dry skin and things
- 25:50Speaker 1: like that. So when I was pregnant, I went ahead
- 25:52Speaker 1: and got with my chemist, which I'm using a black
- 25:54Speaker 1: chemist out of Dallas, Texas who I've worked with. I
- 25:57Speaker 1: actually met her through Marquell because she and Martuell went
- 25:59Speaker 1: to high school together. But she has a very very
- 26:02Speaker 1: successful natural hair care line, so I got with her
- 26:06Speaker 1: and um, we came up together and put this, put
- 26:08Speaker 1: my products together, and you know, worked for really almost
- 26:11Speaker 1: two years just making sure that it was the way
- 26:13Speaker 1: I wanted it to be. Two years too, because in
- 26:16Speaker 1: between of everything else that I'm doing, of course, I'm
- 26:18Speaker 1: always doing so many different things. So it was about
- 26:20Speaker 1: two years that we put in getting it the way
- 26:22Speaker 1: I wanted it. Um, Because I'm big on again branding.
- 26:25Speaker 1: Everything reflects my brand, so I gotta make sure everything
- 26:28Speaker 1: is top notch. We're not gonna short change things, right, UM.
- 26:32Speaker 1: So when I was pregnant, I came up with the
- 26:34Speaker 1: body lotion, the body oil, and the body but her
- 26:36Speaker 1: um and so that's what that's what Embrace currently consists of.
- 26:40Speaker 1: And I'm actually going to be having a live event
- 26:43Speaker 1: on social media when I'm actually gonna open the website
- 26:46Speaker 1: up for sale, So that's gonna be happening. I was
- 26:48Speaker 1: planning to do that by the time the episode aired
- 26:51Speaker 1: for the skin care line, but then the pandemic happened,
- 26:54Speaker 1: so things got pushed back. And you know, and then
- 26:57Speaker 1: of course I also have you know, my divorce happening
- 26:59Speaker 1: as well. It was one of those things where I
- 27:01Speaker 1: just was like, okay, just hold up, let's stop for
- 27:03Speaker 1: a second. Um, But I'm actually going to have a
- 27:05Speaker 1: live event very soon. I'm going to open the site up.
- 27:07Speaker 1: People have the messaging me, they're waiting for it. They
- 27:10Speaker 1: want to get so I gonna open it up and
- 27:11Speaker 1: allot of people to start purchasing. Well, first of all,
- 27:16Speaker 1: you know, there was a there was a moment of
- 27:18Speaker 1: silence out of respect of what you're doing. Okay, you
- 27:23Speaker 1: already said you you're gonna You've already gonna do a
- 27:26Speaker 1: live event. Okay, So that's what I'm saying. These these
- 27:30Speaker 1: masterclasses are preparing you for that live event. So what
- 27:34Speaker 1: what what do we get a sense of? You're gonna
- 27:36Speaker 1: be like a story like environment? Can people buy product
- 27:39Speaker 1: online immediately when you go to that live event? It
- 27:42Speaker 1: will be that's right? And when is the date? Have
- 27:44Speaker 1: you have we locked the date yet? No? I don't
- 27:47Speaker 1: have the day d and yet it will probably be
- 27:49Speaker 1: more in the first of October range. How you know,
- 27:52Speaker 1: things are starting to Yep, things are starting to move
- 27:54Speaker 1: a little bit better with COVID in terms of packaging
- 27:57Speaker 1: and things like that, because of course most of the
- 27:59Speaker 1: package and as you know, come from China or at
- 28:01Speaker 1: least pieces of it, and so it's just a big thing.
- 28:03Speaker 1: And I didn't want to be honest, I'm kind of picky,
- 28:06Speaker 1: like I could have changed up. To be honest, I
- 28:08Speaker 1: should have changed up my package in and did a
- 28:10Speaker 1: different but I'm like, no, I want exactly the way
- 28:12Speaker 1: I wanted and that's just what it is. Um So,
- 28:16Speaker 1: so yeah, this is what I want to get to
- 28:17Speaker 1: my consumer and ain't changing it. So we just don't wait,
- 28:20Speaker 1: you know, it was one of those things, hold hold on, melody, Hello,
- 28:24Speaker 1: you're all good? Did you win? Ain't changing it? Come
- 28:27Speaker 1: on now, how this beautiful, articulate, busy woman ain't changing it?
- 28:32Speaker 1: Ain't changing. But don't my grandmama butter, y'all need to
- 28:36Speaker 1: stop talking to me. Yeah, because I can do all
- 28:39Speaker 1: of it. I can. I can be all of those
- 28:42Speaker 1: This is you gotta keep in the loop on that.
- 28:44Speaker 1: We're gon we're gonna we're gonna change self numbers when
- 28:46Speaker 1: it's called in. But because I gotta good in touch
- 28:48Speaker 1: with you. Now, this this, this, this slogan. Now, this
- 28:51Speaker 1: name of your beautiful embrace it embraced absolutely. That is
- 28:56Speaker 1: so because we know the M is for your first name,
- 28:58Speaker 1: Melody and then gresolutely, So that how did that title,
- 29:03Speaker 1: how did that slogan come up? And how did the
- 29:04Speaker 1: name of the the Beauty Premier skin care line come up? Man,
- 29:08Speaker 1: this is so funny. So one day I was literally
- 29:10Speaker 1: getting my makeup done. Um, I was going somewhere my
- 29:13Speaker 1: makeup artists. Um, he's been my makeup artists for a
- 29:15Speaker 1: few years and now he was on my makeup and
- 29:16Speaker 1: I was telling him about my skin care line and
- 29:19Speaker 1: what I was working on and what my plans were,
- 29:21Speaker 1: and so we just started talking. And in that conversation,
- 29:24Speaker 1: we were just saying, you know, yeah, people, you know,
- 29:26Speaker 1: they should be able to embrace you know, who they
- 29:29Speaker 1: are and their skin and there. And I was like, yeah,
- 29:33Speaker 1: how you know, listen at us, you know what I'm saying.
- 29:36Speaker 1: And we were just literally just having conversations. And so,
- 29:39Speaker 1: of course, all of my family's name, the kids, my husband, me,
- 29:43Speaker 1: we all started with an M. So we always play
- 29:45Speaker 1: on the M word, like there did we call them
- 29:47Speaker 1: the eminem kids? We always play on and so, um,
- 29:52Speaker 1: It was just like, and I can play with this
- 29:54Speaker 1: embrace and make this m capitalize and make this all
- 29:57Speaker 1: flow the way I use your life of stuff to flow.
- 30:00Speaker 1: And it just went from there and you know, and
- 30:02Speaker 1: so it was really a conversation and us talking about it,
- 30:04Speaker 1: me sharing my idea of my skin care line and
- 30:06Speaker 1: putting it out, and we're talking about how important it
- 30:09Speaker 1: is for people, especially you know, especially women because again,
- 30:12Speaker 1: we do have times when we have to be made
- 30:14Speaker 1: up and look to the tea and we're affected to
- 30:16Speaker 1: look like a pen all the time? Or what do
- 30:18Speaker 1: you look like when you take that makeup off of
- 30:20Speaker 1: your faith? And um, so yeah, now you know, I
- 30:24Speaker 1: gotta I gotta wrap up here because I can't. I
- 30:26Speaker 1: can't ruin my reputation. But I wanted to talk about
- 30:29Speaker 1: just you know, just get your you know, when we
- 30:31Speaker 1: look at what you're doing, uh, and what's so many
- 30:33Speaker 1: black women are doing. We are in a political season
- 30:37Speaker 1: and you know, I'm encouraging everybody to register to vote.
- 30:40Speaker 1: You know. Uh, we we know what's going on out there,
- 30:42Speaker 1: but we gotta make a difference and we'll see the
- 30:45Speaker 1: Democratic nomin need be a woman of color. Kamala Harris,
- 30:48Speaker 1: what are your thoughts and uh, you know, and what
- 30:51Speaker 1: what what are what are your goals and expectations for
- 30:53Speaker 1: what you're trying to do to motivate the community to vote.
- 30:57Speaker 1: Oh man, let me tell you, first of all, I
- 30:59Speaker 1: think that this is amazing. I mean, I shared this
- 31:02Speaker 1: on an interview the other day. I still remember when
- 31:04Speaker 1: Obama got elected and how excited I felt, and I
- 31:06Speaker 1: felt like, wow, I can't do anything despite the color
- 31:08Speaker 1: of my skin. I remember being even more excited when
- 31:11Speaker 1: he got re elected, saying though, waiting for them both
- 31:14Speaker 1: and valance and stuff to come on in and look
- 31:16Speaker 1: with those numbers gonna be like and he won again
- 31:18Speaker 1: and it was like, oh my gosh, right, that whole
- 31:21Speaker 1: excitement and that feeling that a piece of inspiration and encouragement.
- 31:26Speaker 1: It was just so um, that's the same way I
- 31:28Speaker 1: feel right now, like I feel like and this time
- 31:31Speaker 1: because it's a woman, so even more so. You know,
- 31:34Speaker 1: we're spending so much time trying to break that glass feeling,
- 31:37Speaker 1: trying to remove certain barriers, and you know, first to
- 31:40Speaker 1: have for us to have a black woman who has
- 31:43Speaker 1: the opportunity to have the second highest position in this nation,
- 31:46Speaker 1: I think that is what's up, and that is amazing, UM,
- 31:51Speaker 1: you know, sharing and so what I'm doing, I have
- 31:53Speaker 1: certain things that I'm working on. One of them, UM,
- 31:56Speaker 1: and you guys to be seeing that soon. I can't
- 31:58Speaker 1: get too much information, but one thing that I'm doing,
- 32:00Speaker 1: I'm actually partnering with the city UM here in Alabama
- 32:04Speaker 1: in terms of UM increasing the census registration and working
- 32:09Speaker 1: to get people out to vote and working to have
- 32:11Speaker 1: people making sure they're filling out this sensus so we
- 32:13Speaker 1: don't lose seats, you know, UM. And it's just I
- 32:17Speaker 1: think all of us have to be willing to do
- 32:18Speaker 1: our part, especially if you've been blessed with a platform,
- 32:21Speaker 1: you have to be willing to do your part um
- 32:24Speaker 1: when it comes to the political piece as well. So
- 32:28Speaker 1: those are things I've worked on. I work on a
- 32:30Speaker 1: lot of stuff behind closed doors that people don't see
- 32:32Speaker 1: or don't know about. But it's about the work that's
- 32:35Speaker 1: the most important. With my friend, Uh, you know what,
- 32:38Speaker 1: you know what I love about this interview, you know,
- 32:40Speaker 1: and you come back from we covered we we've covered everything,
- 32:44Speaker 1: but we didn't even talk about the TV show and
- 32:47Speaker 1: that just left because I wanted everybody to know your
- 32:51Speaker 1: brand and you as as a as a as a visionary,
- 32:55Speaker 1: you as an educator, you as an uplift And I
- 32:58Speaker 1: want to make sure all all those little things got
- 33:01Speaker 1: laid out correctly. And then we come back later and
- 33:04Speaker 1: talk about the show. But this first interview me and
- 33:06Speaker 1: you had to be about be letting everybody know this
- 33:10Speaker 1: is who y'all see on TV every Saturday night. This
- 33:13Speaker 1: don't not all the time. Now it depends now because
- 33:16Speaker 1: I let me tell you now. Sometimes you know you
- 33:18Speaker 1: rubbed me around with scorpio all days to run me ruining.
- 33:21Speaker 1: You know another ni, don't worry about the pisces. I
- 33:24Speaker 1: calm you down. I calm you down. You know, prices
- 33:26Speaker 1: gonna be or we get long, we get long, we
- 33:28Speaker 1: get long, we get low. Melody. Don't you don't you
- 33:31Speaker 1: mess with me. You better embrace it. You better to
- 33:34Speaker 1: imbrace it. You better embrace it. I'm gonna let you go.
- 33:39Speaker 1: You're gonna let you go, girlfriend, and you stay strong again.
- 33:42Speaker 1: You owe me. I'm already gonna post about the starting tomorrow.
- 33:45Speaker 1: I'll be posting all my social media about the Masterclass series.

- 33:52Speaker 1: do the launch of the hours that we do this
- 33:54Speaker 1: launch of the Embraced skincare line. But of course I
- 33:57Speaker 1: promote everything that you do, and we we we we gotta,
- 34:00Speaker 1: we gotta get the right people in office and you
- 34:02Speaker 1: know what I'm talking about, and so we can make
- 34:05Speaker 1: Americans right. But be safe, be blessed, and we will
- 34:09Speaker 1: talk soon, my friends, and you you better invite me back.
- 34:12Speaker 1: I have to. That's why I wanted to make this
- 34:15Speaker 1: first show. This first time was about you and your
- 34:18Speaker 1: your your off screen look and you're off TV look
- 34:21Speaker 1: so everybody can know you are a beast, a beast,
