- 1:24Speaker 1: My next guest received her bachelor's degree and journalism from
- 1:27Speaker 1: James Madison University. Always later go back a little titbits
- 1:30Speaker 1: about people that you need to know. Sometimes we all
- 1:33Speaker 1: see the celebrity side of them. You don't realize that
- 1:35Speaker 1: that's like going on in these people. That's why they
- 1:37Speaker 1: get articulate. That's whatever a sense of value when they
- 1:40Speaker 1: start talking and speaking. In addition, she recently launched an
- 1:43Speaker 1: online clothing boutique PS by Pat Smith, and a portion
- 1:48Speaker 1: of the proceeds support the emergency needs of women and girls.
- 1:52Speaker 1: We have a lot of talk for talking about, Like
- 1:53Speaker 1: I said, she's a minister, author, executive producer and we
- 1:58Speaker 1: will talk about those projects. Speaker, entrepreneur and philanthropists, please
- 2:02Speaker 1: work on the money making conversation. Pat Smith, thank you.
- 2:06Speaker 1: It's good to be here and it's good to connect
- 2:08Speaker 1: back with you. Awesome of course you and I I
- 2:11Speaker 1: watch your work and I'm glad to be reconnected with
- 2:13Speaker 1: you and half of you on my show. Because take
- 2:16Speaker 1: your little background of the show are we live in Atlanta, Geargia.
- 2:19Speaker 1: And it's on podcasts and series exam It's on all
- 2:23Speaker 1: HBCU campuses and and the beauty of what I try
- 2:27Speaker 1: to do on this show pad is to take us
- 2:29Speaker 1: sexful people, successful people are and then just break it
- 2:32Speaker 1: down what they do and hear their stories and and
- 2:35Speaker 1: let's everyday people whe they're successful not realized that they're
- 2:38Speaker 1: crossing the same path. And if you're not doing what
- 2:41Speaker 1: these people are doing, you might want to change your game.
- 2:44Speaker 1: And so when I when I encounter individual like you,
- 2:46Speaker 1: you know your you you spread blessings to your ministry.
- 2:50Speaker 1: You know you're an author, an executive producer, you know,
- 2:53Speaker 1: which means that you walk on your decision maker. That's
- 2:56Speaker 1: all your executive producer or anything, your decision maker. You
- 2:59Speaker 1: got you gotta be yearless because a lot of people
- 3:01Speaker 1: look at you, go, am, I will you be paid?
- 3:03Speaker 1: Could I cut this scene? Can we move forward? Or
- 3:06Speaker 1: is it all right? The weather? This type of outfit.
- 3:08Speaker 1: Executive producers make those type of decisions as well as casting.
- 3:11Speaker 1: Then your speaker, entrepreneur, philantropritches, philanthropists, Yeah, charity, let's start,
- 3:17Speaker 1: let's start. Let's start, Minister orde Elder, absolutely absolute, let's
- 3:22Speaker 1: started off with that. Now. Now let's talk about you.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Based in Dallas, UM married to Emmett Smith, very talented
- 3:30Speaker 1: hall of fame dancing dancer. Okay, I got that started off.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Can you dance? Look not like him? God, I had
- 3:40Speaker 1: no idea. I mean we we met dancing Um at
- 3:44Speaker 1: sen Bad Music Festival years ago in the Ruba. I've
- 3:48Speaker 1: been almost two years ago, um, and I knew he
- 3:51Speaker 1: could throw down, right, But you know, but what you know,
- 3:54Speaker 1: you said, Matt dancing? That was like you know, regular yeah, girl, yeah, yeah,
- 4:00Speaker 1: all right, you're dancing. He was dancing? Oh yeah, he was.
- 4:04Speaker 1: He was getting he was not only was he you know,
- 4:07Speaker 1: he could move, but he was ballroom dancing, which is
- 4:10Speaker 1: which is a phenomenon and also changed the game and
- 4:12Speaker 1: perspective of what athletes thought what athletes can do in
- 4:15Speaker 1: that particular genre, you know, because he wanted. But let's
- 4:19Speaker 1: get back on with you actual want to put that
- 4:20Speaker 1: out that little joke about dancing out there. Let's talk
- 4:23Speaker 1: about a lot of your organizations out there that are
- 4:25Speaker 1: changing people's lives. Let's start with Treasure You, which is
- 4:29Speaker 1: a nonprofit organization founded by you, of course, dedicated to
- 4:31Speaker 1: supporting women and financial, emotional, and spiritual needs. Let's talk
- 4:35Speaker 1: about that. You know that That's why I call it
- 4:39Speaker 1: my baby, um, because it's wow. It was. It was
- 4:43Speaker 1: a very difficult birthing process for that's all babies, okaybies,
- 4:50Speaker 1: but you know our biological babies usually take about nine months.
- 4:55Speaker 1: This baby took about you know, fifteen years, UM. Because
- 5:00Speaker 1: it started with with pain and hurt and disappointment as
- 5:05Speaker 1: a woman, you know, making some bad decisions, um, you
- 5:10Speaker 1: know on my part, and through that journey of pain
- 5:14Speaker 1: and discoveries what led me to um to start Treasure
- 5:18Speaker 1: You years ago because I just felt like there needed
- 5:22Speaker 1: to be a place for women to go to that
- 5:24Speaker 1: was safe first of all, UM, where we could share
- 5:28Speaker 1: honestly and openly in an authentic and transparent way with
- 5:32Speaker 1: each other. Um I got into a place where, you know,
- 5:39Speaker 1: with with some of the loss is going through a divorce,
- 5:41Speaker 1: going through a lot of nodes in the entertainment industry,
- 5:45Speaker 1: um I lost a lot of my self esteem and
- 5:49Speaker 1: a lot of my self worth. And so I felt
- 5:52Speaker 1: like they're you know, there needed to be this place
- 5:54Speaker 1: where we could come together and inspire one another and
- 5:56Speaker 1: share and grow. Um And so I hosted my first
- 6:00Speaker 1: retreat with women that were very similar to me, that
- 6:02Speaker 1: were married to high profile men who had just lost themselves.
- 6:06Speaker 1: And then that then grew into something even larger, which
- 6:10Speaker 1: was just I realized as women, we all sometimes lose ourselves,
- 6:15Speaker 1: whether it's to our children, to our careers too, um
- 6:20Speaker 1: just being overwhelmed with life in general, we we forget
- 6:23Speaker 1: who we are and why we're here. And I've learned,
- 6:28Speaker 1: you know, it's not about just having a career, it's
- 6:30Speaker 1: about having a mission in life. And so Treasure you
- 6:35Speaker 1: just really grew. And then um I developed a heart
- 6:39Speaker 1: to stay in the gaps for women or be a
- 6:41Speaker 1: bridge for women. There was a woman who helped me
- 6:44Speaker 1: years ago when um I was going through it, you know,
- 6:48Speaker 1: left my house middle of the night with with my
- 6:50Speaker 1: my baby girl, she's nine months old, and she took
- 6:52Speaker 1: me in and provided a safe place for me. And
- 6:56Speaker 1: so I said, you know what I want to do
- 6:58Speaker 1: that for women to treasure you went for retreats you
- 7:01Speaker 1: know too, events too, then raising dollars to help women
- 7:04Speaker 1: that were just like me who needed a bridge, Um,
- 7:07Speaker 1: just to get you know, hey, it's gonna be all right, girl,
- 7:10Speaker 1: I got you, sister. Um. You know, maybe she needs
- 7:14Speaker 1: a you know, a place to stay, temporary housing. Maybe
- 7:18Speaker 1: she needs, you know, to get her vehicle fixed so
- 7:19Speaker 1: she can get to work or get her kids to school.
- 7:21Speaker 1: Whatever that is. Um, we provided you know, women with furniture.
- 7:25Speaker 1: When you know, the tornado hit here in Dallas years ago. Um,
- 7:29Speaker 1: there's a lot of single mothers who were put out.
- 7:32Speaker 1: We were able to partner with the Dallas Furniture Bank
- 7:35Speaker 1: and help them. So that is that's kind of where
- 7:38Speaker 1: we've grow into today. I haven't done a retreat in years,
- 7:41Speaker 1: but we are always there for for someone who needs
- 7:44Speaker 1: just the bridge. So yeah, yeah, that's my that's my
- 7:49Speaker 1: baby that's just taking a long time to to birth.
- 7:51Speaker 1: But you know the thing about it is because there's
- 7:54Speaker 1: so many layers and a lot of people. Uh, you know,
- 7:58Speaker 1: there's so many you you chan be in so many
- 8:00Speaker 1: situations because I'm sure you know, uh the best in
- 8:04Speaker 1: violence situation falls in line with that. How you come
- 8:06Speaker 1: to the rescue of women in period and try to
- 8:10Speaker 1: point them in the right direction and build their self
- 8:13Speaker 1: esteem and so and so when you say, how do
- 8:16Speaker 1: you go about raising funds for this organization? If anywhere
- 8:19Speaker 1: I can help assist and promote that, how do you
- 8:22Speaker 1: res funds for Treasure you? You know what's just going
- 8:25Speaker 1: to trusture you dot org um and you know, making
- 8:29Speaker 1: a donation, which it's a blessing because we're continually like
- 8:33Speaker 1: trying to um support women. I mean I get requests
- 8:36Speaker 1: all the time, and you know I have not been
- 8:39Speaker 1: able to do a fundraiser in a long time. So
- 8:41Speaker 1: people just making donations that will definitely help. Also, you
- 8:45Speaker 1: mentioned my clothing line with PS by Pat Smith. A
- 8:48Speaker 1: portion of the proceeds I always donate back to Treasure
- 8:51Speaker 1: You what what what is what is that closing line?
- 8:54Speaker 1: What is it? When you when you say that is it?
- 8:56Speaker 1: Is it? What? What is it? What is it? Gear
- 8:58Speaker 1: towards the professional woman, the cash aware, What is the
- 9:01Speaker 1: what is the cloning MPs? What is pois the fashionable
- 9:04Speaker 1: so ps um? It's Pat Smith, but it also means
- 9:09Speaker 1: PS like just one more thing, right, So I played
- 9:12Speaker 1: off of that because you know what, with women, I
- 9:15Speaker 1: think sometimes we weighed so many of our resources and
- 9:18Speaker 1: money on clothes and stuff that is not eternal, um,
- 9:24Speaker 1: when we should be saving our money. So I didn't
- 9:27Speaker 1: want a cloth in line that was going to drain
- 9:29Speaker 1: people's pockets. At a clothing line where people could get affordable,
- 9:33Speaker 1: you know, cute outfits that were different because of course
- 9:37Speaker 1: we all like to look nice, um and feel good
- 9:40Speaker 1: about ourselves. And then knowing that a portion of your funds,
- 9:43Speaker 1: then we'll go back to help another woman who is
- 9:45Speaker 1: in need. It's empowering. I wanted to create this, this
- 9:49Speaker 1: community of women that yes, you can come shop, but
- 9:52Speaker 1: it's not gonna you know, we're not not design aware, right,
- 9:56Speaker 1: affordable ware, but it's still they're still you a unique peace. Okay.
- 10:01Speaker 1: What is that website? Okay? That is ps by Pat
- 10:05Speaker 1: Smith dot com. See, I gotta get all these websites.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Oh we go. We want to make conversations not bad.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Remember what show y'all not money making conversations. Okay, let's
- 10:16Speaker 1: move on to the other project. Because of the fact
- 10:18Speaker 1: that I know I got another second, I want to
- 10:20Speaker 1: squeeze a little bit this conversation. Then you're an executi
- 10:23Speaker 1: producer alongside your husband Hall of Famer, NFL Hall of
- 10:26Speaker 1: Famer and Smith of Canal Street. A faith driven film,
- 10:30Speaker 1: uh that speaks to millennials who find confident in the
- 10:32Speaker 1: belief systems were driven. Is a propeller and inspires movement.
- 10:38Speaker 1: So let me just clarify, And this is no disrespect,
- 10:40Speaker 1: but I think it's important for other women to know. Um,
- 10:44Speaker 1: So i am, I'm executive producer without him. So okay,
- 10:49Speaker 1: he's very supportive, but I'm I'm actually um executive producer.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Well that's good because they wrote it on a piece
- 10:56Speaker 1: of paper just like that, because I'm I'm I'm Let
- 11:00Speaker 1: me just tell you something. My whole thing is that
- 11:02Speaker 1: this shows about you. And so I remember our manager
- 11:05Speaker 1: Steve Harvey many years and I had to define what
- 11:08Speaker 1: my accomplishments were because a lot of people kind of
- 11:10Speaker 1: like you know, shared our shared my success story with him.
- 11:14Speaker 1: And this show is about allowing you, as a successful
- 11:17Speaker 1: female in the in the industry to show that this
- 11:20Speaker 1: is a project. So let's talk about executive producer of
- 11:23Speaker 1: Canal Street, Miss past Smith. Let's get it right and
- 11:27Speaker 1: let me let me if you don't mind, let me
- 11:29Speaker 1: just say this and why it's important for me personally,
- 11:31Speaker 1: It's because, like I said, I started treasure you because
- 11:34Speaker 1: I literally was drowning in the shadows when I met
- 11:36Speaker 1: you years ago. I was in l A, you know,
- 11:39Speaker 1: trying to overcome a divorce, back in acting classes and
- 11:42Speaker 1: studying and trying to get my grind on and and
- 11:46Speaker 1: working really hard. Um and then of course I moved
- 11:49Speaker 1: to Dallas and got married in two thousands, and I
- 11:53Speaker 1: lost myself, you know, with the cowboys, you know, kind
- 11:56Speaker 1: of getting lost in the shadows of raising children. I
- 11:59Speaker 1: just kind of lost Pat. So I want people to
- 12:02Speaker 1: know that, you know, now I'm forty eight years old.
- 12:05Speaker 1: I started in this business when I was twenty two,
- 12:08Speaker 1: and it's never too late. It's never too late to
- 12:12Speaker 1: find yourself, rediscover yourself and continue to pursue your dreams,
- 12:15Speaker 1: your purpose, your passion. So I wanted to make that
- 12:18Speaker 1: clear because many times people do want to, you know,
- 12:21Speaker 1: connect me to emmet or Emma Smiths wife, which yes
- 12:24Speaker 1: I am his wife, he's my husband. But I want
- 12:27Speaker 1: women to know that you can. We all have our
- 12:29Speaker 1: own unique purpose and it doesn't necessarily want to be
- 12:32Speaker 1: in films or do films, but pat does. Well, that's
- 12:36Speaker 1: that's that's good that you say that, because that's what
- 12:38Speaker 1: I try to tell everybody about gold Sitting, about being
- 12:42Speaker 1: able to understand who you are. You're just doing what
- 12:44Speaker 1: you but we had a mission to do. When you
- 12:46Speaker 1: was in your twenties, yeah, you know, and you learned
- 12:49Speaker 1: those skills and now you mature and you said, you
- 12:51Speaker 1: know something, the doors open, you show that crack. Now
- 12:53Speaker 1: you're building your brand. It's about multi multi levels of
- 12:56Speaker 1: exposure because you've always you've been you know, ever since
- 13:00Speaker 1: Beauty Patriage. You know, you've been a game changer. You
- 13:02Speaker 1: know you use you use the first out the door
- 13:04Speaker 1: person way back then and so and a lot of
- 13:06Speaker 1: people don't recognize that. That's why I had to let
- 13:09Speaker 1: everybody know at the very beginning. You know, you have
- 13:11Speaker 1: a degree in journalism, you know, because a lot of
- 13:13Speaker 1: things you can get lost in and if you get
- 13:15Speaker 1: lost their looks, you get lost the association and realized
- 13:18Speaker 1: that the basis of who you are is educated woman
- 13:22Speaker 1: who has her own ideas, and it's changing the games
- 13:25Speaker 1: of women on the daily basis. That's who past myth is. Now.
- 13:28Speaker 1: You know I had wrapped it up at Rushan McDonald
- 13:31Speaker 1: stop because we're gonna come back years ago without up
- 13:38Speaker 1: on Paler. This show here is changing people's lives and
- 13:41Speaker 1: our individuals like you who are honest that comes on
- 13:44Speaker 1: the show. It allows me to be able to tell
- 13:46Speaker 1: the story even better because anybody can be successful and
- 13:49Speaker 1: moneymaking conversation is just a brand, a force, a vehicle,
- 13:53Speaker 1: a podcast. We'll be right back with more past ps
- 13:57Speaker 1: ps ps high on the phone with Patsis. She's my guest.
- 14:04Speaker 1: And when you bring a guest one like that, who
- 14:06Speaker 1: has a legacy of success, who is a mom, who
- 14:11Speaker 1: is a entrepreneur, a minister treasure you a nonprofit organization
- 14:15Speaker 1: founded by her dedicated supporting women and financial, emotional and
- 14:19Speaker 1: spirit and provide spiritual needs. Which is really key because
- 14:23Speaker 1: I when I interviewed Uhlane of Adams, is a clear
- 14:25Speaker 1: understanding that faith plays a major role in any decision
- 14:30Speaker 1: that you make. It determines effort, it determines a belief
- 14:33Speaker 1: that you can do things that you may seem a
- 14:36Speaker 1: deem impossible. And when you're entrepreneur, a lot of your
- 14:39Speaker 1: goals are derived through the amount of faith that you have.
- 14:43Speaker 1: She has another PS, which by past a fashion critique,
- 14:46Speaker 1: it's not there to break you. It's there to allow
- 14:49Speaker 1: you to accessorize, to be able to add more to add,
- 14:52Speaker 1: to give you an option to to be able to
- 14:53Speaker 1: build your your your clothing brand like visince. I'm a guy.
- 14:57Speaker 1: You know, I got eight shoes in my closet, you know,
- 15:01Speaker 1: you know PS. You know, she needed to set up
- 15:03Speaker 1: something for me, you know, PS for Rushan McDonald because
- 15:07Speaker 1: I loved me some clothes. And then we want to
- 15:09Speaker 1: talk about The Canal Street, which is the faith driven
- 15:11Speaker 1: film that you executive produce. Tell us about this film
- 15:14Speaker 1: right quick. I know you're based out of Dallas. How
- 15:17Speaker 1: did it all come about? And it's focused on millennials? Yes,
- 15:20Speaker 1: and you know what it's so and I'll tell you
- 15:23Speaker 1: at the beginning, we really thought this film for millennials,
- 15:26Speaker 1: but we are getting so much feedback from people. You know,
- 15:30Speaker 1: even that someone texts me to their grand They took
- 15:32Speaker 1: their grandparents to see it with them and their kids
- 15:35Speaker 1: and they're grand she's like my grandmother and Grandpather loved
- 15:38Speaker 1: this film. So I think it speaks to everyone, um
- 15:41Speaker 1: in different ways. But it came about UM like before
- 15:45Speaker 1: you get started to let you know it's an influencing movie.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I was just laid there everybody, because see what happens
- 15:50Speaker 1: is uh, you know when people say is for young people,
- 15:53Speaker 1: but the movie like this, Faith Driven is an influencing
- 15:56Speaker 1: movie because because of the fact that adults, parents, grandparents,
- 16:00Speaker 1: all these people influence young people their decisions that they
- 16:03Speaker 1: do in life. And that's why it's important to say
- 16:06Speaker 1: the global picture is that this is this is more
- 16:08Speaker 1: of a family movie that allows the family to come
- 16:11Speaker 1: together along with friends, co workers, people who are who
- 16:15Speaker 1: need to understand the value of faith. And so I
- 16:19Speaker 1: just want to let you know when you say grandparents
- 16:21Speaker 1: and parents and all these people, that we're not the
- 16:24Speaker 1: target audience, but they are the influencers. Yes we um.
- 16:28Speaker 1: One of the TV jakes, he was at one of
- 16:30Speaker 1: the screens that had here in Dallas and he summed
- 16:32Speaker 1: it up beautiful. He said, you know this is this
- 16:34Speaker 1: film is bigger than the church because not only are
- 16:38Speaker 1: there these themes of course, of faith, forgiveness, grace. There's
- 16:43Speaker 1: also a lot of social justice issues that are addressed
- 16:46Speaker 1: through the film, and I'm really proud of the writers
- 16:49Speaker 1: um the director Ryan Lamar, because they did a beautiful
- 16:52Speaker 1: job of addressing all these issues while making sure the
- 16:56Speaker 1: cast was I mean diverse. The cast is when I
- 16:59Speaker 1: tell you there's African Americans, Caucasians, Spanish, Asians, Muslims, Jews,
- 17:04Speaker 1: I mean, everybody is representing the cast. And then everyone
- 17:07Speaker 1: can sit and watch this film and in the room together.
- 17:12Speaker 1: I feel very comfortable because every voice is at the table.
- 17:16Speaker 1: And what it does is it really for me? I said,
- 17:19Speaker 1: you know what, we all have a lens in which
- 17:22Speaker 1: we see things through based on our perspective. We all
- 17:26Speaker 1: do right, And I've got to be able to listen.
- 17:32Speaker 1: I mean I always agree, but I've got to be
- 17:34Speaker 1: able to listen and hear somebody else's perspective based on
- 17:37Speaker 1: their lens. That's important. So what what what became the
- 17:43Speaker 1: you know, the germ or the ground zero idea for
- 17:48Speaker 1: the project? How did that? How did that come about? Well,
- 17:51Speaker 1: let's talk about how God works. First of all, I
- 17:53Speaker 1: always again wanted to be in film and television. I've
- 17:57Speaker 1: always wanted that from you know Miss Usa on to
- 18:01Speaker 1: way would you do in your twenties? Yes, that's how
- 18:06Speaker 1: God works, you just how he worked. And that's why
- 18:08Speaker 1: I really feel like I'm I'm supposed to be a
- 18:10Speaker 1: voice to that because many times we get so discouraged
- 18:14Speaker 1: on our life's journey because we see and want things.
- 18:16Speaker 1: And I'm gonna tell you it was in my gut,
- 18:18Speaker 1: but nothing that was happening for me was leaning towards this.
- 18:22Speaker 1: It felt. I felt like every time I got closer,
- 18:25Speaker 1: like God would take you know, would take me in
- 18:27Speaker 1: a different direction. And it became very frustrating because I
- 18:30Speaker 1: felt something in my spirit, but yet the results were
- 18:33Speaker 1: not showing that. You know, I was going, like again, philanthropy.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I'm a mother of five of a blended family. You know,
- 18:40Speaker 1: I moved to Dallas away from l A or New York.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I mean, everything was pushing me away. When I did
- 18:45Speaker 1: go back to l A, it was just cheer my
- 18:47Speaker 1: husband on Dancing with the Stars, and I'm like, wait
- 18:49Speaker 1: a minute, wait a minute, really like this is you
- 18:53Speaker 1: had really flipped this on me? And so I was
- 18:57Speaker 1: I struggled. I was so frustrated, almost gave up and
- 19:00Speaker 1: then I'm having a meeting. Someone reached out out to
- 19:03Speaker 1: me out of the blue about a TV show concept
- 19:06Speaker 1: that I loved because I love getting second chances to people,
- 19:09Speaker 1: and that's my book. I wrote a book called Second Chances,
- 19:12Speaker 1: and so this show was really kind of that feeling
- 19:15Speaker 1: of giving people an opportunity, another chance as something that
- 19:17Speaker 1: they felt like they missed. And then all of a sudden,
- 19:21Speaker 1: the conversations twist and turns towards this, this other project,
- 19:25Speaker 1: this film, and I said, oh, let me see the trailer.
- 19:28Speaker 1: And when I saw the trailer, the director Ryan was there.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I'm like, wait a minute, How did I not get
- 19:33Speaker 1: an audition for this? This came out my mouth, and
- 19:36Speaker 1: he goes, well, actually, you've been an audition the whole time.
- 19:39Speaker 1: I have a role that I think would be perfect
- 19:40Speaker 1: for you if you could be in New York next month,
- 19:45Speaker 1: and we were already scheduled to be there for pattent
- 19:47Speaker 1: Emmitt Smith charities we take. We were taking a group
- 19:49Speaker 1: of kids up that we mentor the same date as
- 19:52Speaker 1: the filming, so I end up, of course going up
- 19:56Speaker 1: for that. I filmed my scene at the Breakfast Club,
- 19:59Speaker 1: and in all of a sudden I'm in this film.
- 20:02Speaker 1: I'm in a major film, but like like not just
- 20:08Speaker 1: you know, I mean a major from this out in
- 20:10Speaker 1: theaters right, yeah, we already Yeah, we had red carpet
- 20:15Speaker 1: premier in La and all that, but it just it's
- 20:18Speaker 1: more about God. Like, look at God, I didn't have
- 20:21Speaker 1: to audition. Really, I didn't pursue this. It's just it
- 20:25Speaker 1: came after me. That's the God we honor. So end up.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Of course, at once I got involved in the project
- 20:33Speaker 1: and I've really I've read the script and and really
- 20:35Speaker 1: took it all in and got to know the team.
- 20:37Speaker 1: I'm like, no, I really want to be a bigger
- 20:39Speaker 1: part of this, boy, because I believe that we have
- 20:42Speaker 1: platforms because God wants to use those platforms. So I
- 20:45Speaker 1: knew this was bigger than just me having you know,
- 20:48Speaker 1: a small partner film. It was really bigger than that.
- 20:50Speaker 1: And so I became you know, an investor and executive
- 20:53Speaker 1: producer from that point on. And so you know, we
- 20:56Speaker 1: sometimes want I just wanted to crumb, like just give
- 20:59Speaker 1: me a part, and God's like, no, I got something
- 21:01Speaker 1: bigger for you. And so not only am I going
- 21:04Speaker 1: to give you this part, but I'm also going to
- 21:05Speaker 1: allow you to lead, and I'm gonna give you a voice,
- 21:08Speaker 1: and I'm going to amplify that voice for my glory.
- 21:11Speaker 1: So I just believe it because we think small, right,
- 21:14Speaker 1: and God just had something so much bigger. We just
- 21:17Speaker 1: have to be patient because it is a process. You know.
- 21:19Speaker 1: The thing I love about hearing your tone and what
- 21:22Speaker 1: you're saying is that you talk about now I understand
- 21:26Speaker 1: your retreat. How as as successful as people, as as
- 21:30Speaker 1: you've been in your life, how you can lose your
- 21:33Speaker 1: identity associated with somebody who's equally successful. Don't have to
- 21:36Speaker 1: be a celebrity, could be a hard working husband or
- 21:39Speaker 1: working wife, could be a person who who's out there?
- 21:43Speaker 1: Are you you're supporting them through their their educational opportunities?
- 21:47Speaker 1: Are you supporting them they launching a business? And then
- 21:50Speaker 1: five fifteen years can passion you go who am I?
- 21:54Speaker 1: What am I doing? And how do I get back
- 21:56Speaker 1: to being me? Yeah? And so my question back to you,
- 22:00Speaker 1: Pat is how were you? How did you get back
- 22:02Speaker 1: to being Pat? You know what? I literally I became
- 22:10Speaker 1: so frustrated through the process that one day and it
- 22:16Speaker 1: was an emotional moment. I was actually, um, I have
- 22:19Speaker 1: an amazing mentor and spiritual mentor. I think everybody should
- 22:23Speaker 1: have a mentor in their life. I can tell anything
- 22:25Speaker 1: to And she said, you know what, it's time for
- 22:29Speaker 1: you to take care of Pat and to do what
- 22:32Speaker 1: Pat is called to do. You need to go and
- 22:36Speaker 1: live whatever that is out unapologetically and tell everybody around
- 22:42Speaker 1: you what you plan to do. Not ask for permission,
- 22:47Speaker 1: but tell them what it is God who's putting your
- 22:50Speaker 1: spirit to do. And I did, I mean it's And
- 22:52Speaker 1: it was scary because when you get when you're used
- 22:55Speaker 1: to supporting and you're used to um asking for permission,
- 23:00Speaker 1: when you're finally open to kind of go out there
- 23:02Speaker 1: and and live by faith, like Yolanda said, who I
- 23:05Speaker 1: loving a door? Actually she supported me at my first retreat,
- 23:09Speaker 1: so it's funny when you mentioned her because she was
- 23:12Speaker 1: at the very first Treasure You retreat and supported me um.
- 23:17Speaker 1: So she's absolutely right. It takes faith because everything you
- 23:21Speaker 1: know and you is going to be it's it's fearful.
- 23:23Speaker 1: You know you're fearful because fear is opposite of faith.
- 23:26Speaker 1: So every you know, the enemy is gonna tell you
- 23:28Speaker 1: can't do this. Oh my god, you're forty eight, You're
- 23:31Speaker 1: too old or um, you were a loser. Don't you
- 23:34Speaker 1: remember you didn't actually win miss say you were first
- 23:36Speaker 1: runner up, you were a second loser. Um, your career
- 23:39Speaker 1: never really took off, you know, you really never you know,
- 23:43Speaker 1: booked major stuff. I mean, he tells you you've been divorced.
- 23:47Speaker 1: You know, Um, best show you did didn't actually get
- 23:50Speaker 1: picked up. I mean he just reminds you of everything
- 23:53Speaker 1: that went wrong. And I had to push through those voices.
- 23:57Speaker 1: And it took a lot of holding on to God.
- 24:00Speaker 1: I mean just holding on through prayers, through studying his word,
- 24:03Speaker 1: through having spiritual people around me that loved me, that
- 24:06Speaker 1: will speak goodness and to me, and positivity inside of me.
- 24:09Speaker 1: And then you just take one step at a time,
- 24:12Speaker 1: or Sean, I mean one step, because when I tried
- 24:15Speaker 1: to swallow all that I felt inside of me, it
- 24:18Speaker 1: was overwhelming. It can be crippling. But when I just said, Okay,
- 24:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna step out, I'm gonna set a date, I'm
- 24:24Speaker 1: going to Um, I'm just gonna say it. I want
- 24:27Speaker 1: to do a show, and I wanted to be about this.
- 24:30Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. You just got I'm going
- 24:32Speaker 1: to write a book and this is the book that
- 24:33Speaker 1: I'm gonna write, and I plan to launch about this date,
- 24:36Speaker 1: and I'm gonna start writing it. I'm gonna do one
- 24:38Speaker 1: chapter at a time. I'm gonna list what the chapters
- 24:41Speaker 1: will be. You just have to take it in small
- 24:44Speaker 1: nuggets like that, and then set goals for yourself. Never
- 24:47Speaker 1: mind it may not you may not reach the deadline,
- 24:50Speaker 1: but it gives you something to push towards, because God
- 24:52Speaker 1: has has his own timing. But for me, if I
- 24:55Speaker 1: set a deadline or I set a goal, it gives
- 24:57Speaker 1: me something to pursue and then I'd let God leading
- 25:00Speaker 1: from that point. Well, young lady, um I say young,
- 25:03Speaker 1: because you are. You're a fantastic You're amazing. Things I
- 25:07Speaker 1: wanted to tell you is that this is not the
- 25:10Speaker 1: interview that I plan is. It's a bigger because the
- 25:14Speaker 1: fact that I've learned additional nuggets about you that are
- 25:17Speaker 1: changing people's lives, especially from a women need to hear
- 25:21Speaker 1: about finding themselves and realizing living their life. And it
- 25:25Speaker 1: tells a little selfish moment, and there's nothing wrong with

- 25:30Speaker 1: happy too. Past me, if I want to thank you
