- 0:00Speaker 1: Today show is pre recorded.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Y'all know what y'all don't know y'all at all, So
- 0:12Speaker 2: don't give them the busy listening to to.
- 0:38Speaker 3: I don't Joy, Yeah, Joy, you gotta.
- 0:59Speaker 4: Do that, love you You gonna turn.
- 1:31Speaker 5: I can't.
- 1:40Speaker 3: I got to turn the mouth turn You probably got
- 1:44Speaker 3: to turn the mouth turn out.
- 1:46Speaker 6: The word of the.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Monjupo wouldn't.
- 1:55Speaker 6: Come come out?
- 1:59Speaker 7: You think that, Uh huh, I sure will come on it.
- 2:03Speaker 7: Everybody y'all listening to the voice, come on, dig me
- 2:06Speaker 7: out on it. Only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Man.
- 2:11Speaker 8: Oh man, ain't God good? Yeah? Yes, you know.
- 2:13Speaker 7: I want to remind everybody today that you got to
- 2:16Speaker 7: keep pressing forward. Man. I know it gets difficult out
- 2:19Speaker 7: there sometimes, but you got to keep pressing forward. There's
- 2:23Speaker 7: nothing else for you to do. The option of quitting,
- 2:26Speaker 7: turning back, giving up it cannot be there. The thoughts
- 2:30Speaker 7: can pop into your head, but when they do, you
- 2:32Speaker 7: got to pray about it. But you got to keep
- 2:34Speaker 7: pressing forward. You got to keep it moving, man. I
- 2:38Speaker 7: don't care how dark and dirty it get for you.
- 2:41Speaker 7: You got to somehow summon it up within you to
- 2:44Speaker 7: keep it moving, to keep pressing forward, because the only
- 2:47Speaker 7: way you're gonna get it is you got to stay
- 2:49Speaker 7: in the race. You know, you've heard it said a
- 2:51Speaker 7: thousand times. The race isn't given to the swift, but
- 2:53Speaker 7: to him that didn't do it to the end. You
- 2:55Speaker 7: got to stay with it. Whatever it is. I don't
- 2:57Speaker 7: know what it is for you, but whatever it is,
- 2:59Speaker 7: you got to stay with it, because Quentin, don't let
- 3:02Speaker 7: you see the end result, give it up. Don't let
- 3:04Speaker 7: you see the end results turning back, don't let you
- 3:07Speaker 7: see the end. The only way to see the end
- 3:09Speaker 7: results is you got to finish the race. You got
- 3:11Speaker 7: to stay in the race because the victory may be
- 3:14Speaker 7: nearer than it seems. There's a poem I learned in
- 3:17Speaker 7: college under some stressful situations I've just said like that.
- 3:21Speaker 7: There is a stanza in this poem called don't Quit
- 3:24Speaker 7: that says, often the goal is nearer than it seems
- 3:28Speaker 7: to a faint and a faltering man, And often the
- 3:33Speaker 7: struggler has given up when he might have captured the
- 3:37Speaker 7: victor's cup, and he learns too late, when the night
- 3:41Speaker 7: came down, how close he was to the golden crown.
- 3:46Speaker 7: Now that's just a stanza in it the poem is
- 3:49Speaker 7: much longer than that. I know the whole thing because
- 3:52Speaker 7: I learned it. But I've always remembered that poem that
- 3:58Speaker 7: the goal is often near than it seems to a
- 4:02Speaker 7: faint and a faltering man. And oftentimes the struggler has
- 4:06Speaker 7: given up when he might have captured the victor's cup,
- 4:11Speaker 7: but then he learns too late, when the night came down,
- 4:15Speaker 7: how close he was to the golden crown. And there's
- 4:18Speaker 7: the last stands of the poem says, it may be
- 4:21Speaker 7: near when it seems afar, so stick to the fight
- 4:25Speaker 7: when your heart is ticked. It's when things seem worse
- 4:28Speaker 7: that you mustn't quit. It's an unknown author to the poem,
- 4:33Speaker 7: so if you want to look it up, it's called
- 4:34Speaker 7: don't Quit. But you know I'm talking to you today
- 4:37Speaker 7: from the standpoint of encouragement. I want to show you
- 4:40Speaker 7: an analogy that I tripped on this morning when I
- 4:43Speaker 7: was thinking about something I wanted and I was thinking,
- 4:48Speaker 7: you know, okay, if you have a job, the way
- 4:52Speaker 7: you have to do your job, your job forces you
- 4:54Speaker 7: to do this, so you can't just randomly do this
- 4:56Speaker 7: on your job. A job forces you to plan ahead
- 5:00Speaker 7: little bit you know, a job requires that you go
- 5:04Speaker 7: through the procedures in order for something to happen that
- 5:07Speaker 7: you want to happen. Example, you want a vacation, you
- 5:12Speaker 7: have to put in for that vacation, and that's what
- 5:15Speaker 7: it's called on your job, just put in. You may
- 5:17Speaker 7: dress it up some other way, but common sense you
- 5:20Speaker 7: have to put in. You got to do that because
- 5:23Speaker 7: the job requires it. You got to put in for
- 5:25Speaker 7: your vacation. If you want a promotion and you see
- 5:29Speaker 7: it post it somewhere that we are now have a
- 5:32Speaker 7: position opening, you got to put in for that.
- 5:34Speaker 8: You just can't sit back and hope they pick you.
- 5:38Speaker 7: Because they're probably going to pick the person who wants it,
- 5:41Speaker 7: who shows the initiative to go get it.
- 5:44Speaker 8: So you have to put in for a promotion on
- 5:46Speaker 8: a lot of jobs.
- 5:47Speaker 7: If you want some days off, a couple of days here,
- 5:52Speaker 7: a couple of days that you got to put in
- 5:54Speaker 7: for that.
- 5:55Speaker 8: But all of these are things that you want. You
- 5:57Speaker 8: want vacations, you.
- 5:58Speaker 7: Want a day off here, and now you want some promotions.
- 6:02Speaker 7: If you want a raise, you have to go in
- 6:05Speaker 7: and request a raise. It requires an action on your
- 6:10Speaker 7: part on your job. And guess what we've all accepted
- 6:13Speaker 7: this as this is the way it's done. You want
- 6:15Speaker 7: to raise, you have to put in for a raise.
- 6:17Speaker 7: You want to raise, you got to go in and
- 6:19Speaker 7: have a meeting and take a request so you can
- 6:21Speaker 7: show your value to get to raise. You want a
- 6:22Speaker 7: vacation time, you got to put in for that, and
- 6:24Speaker 7: then they got to they could tell you, yeah, your name,
- 6:26Speaker 7: You want a promotion, same thing, you want some days off,
- 6:30Speaker 7: same thing. Okay, that's the deal with your job. Well
- 6:32Speaker 7: that's the deal with your life too. That exact picture
- 6:36Speaker 7: that I painted for you that you're all so very
- 6:38Speaker 7: much aware of that you're very crystal clear on the
- 6:40Speaker 7: rules and regulations that you have no problem following him
- 6:43Speaker 7: the same rules for your life. What you mean by that, Steve,
- 6:45Speaker 7: You got to put in with God. You got to
- 6:48Speaker 7: put in for what you want with God? Are you
- 6:52Speaker 7: And it's as simple as that you put in See
- 6:56Speaker 7: you want some more of this, some more that you
- 6:58Speaker 7: got to put in with God.
- 7:00Speaker 8: You put in with your job.
- 7:02Speaker 7: You go down there and ask that man what you want,
- 7:04Speaker 7: and you ain't got no problem following the rules. Well,
- 7:06Speaker 7: put in with God what you want? What your list?
- 7:10Speaker 7: What's your request? What do you really want? How much
- 7:14Speaker 7: money you really trying to make? Where you really trying
- 7:17Speaker 7: to live? What kind of career and job would you
- 7:19Speaker 7: really like to have? What kind of person would you
- 7:22Speaker 7: really like to be? What type of family are you
- 7:25Speaker 7: hoping and wishing for? Who is the person you want
- 7:27Speaker 7: in your life? What type of person do you what's
- 7:29Speaker 7: the relationship you're looking for?
- 7:31Speaker 8: What you want? You got to put in for that.
- 7:34Speaker 8: You got to put in. You got to go to
- 7:35Speaker 8: God and put in for that.
- 7:36Speaker 7: See, we'll follow the rules set to us up, set
- 7:39Speaker 7: us up and set up by us in a system.
- 7:42Speaker 7: But we simple rules of putting in for your life. Man,
- 7:45Speaker 7: we don't even do that. I wish I would put
- 7:48Speaker 7: in for a job and not put in for God.
- 7:49Speaker 7: You gotta be kidding me. You think this man that
- 7:52Speaker 7: has this company can has more to offer to you
- 7:54Speaker 7: in terms of vacation, promos and raisers than God got
- 7:57Speaker 7: for you for your life. Man, you keep putting too
- 7:59Speaker 7: much faith in Man, that's what's wrong with us. I
- 8:02Speaker 7: show hope he give me his raise. I'll show I
- 8:04Speaker 7: don't even go to people with that. I go to
- 8:07Speaker 7: God about it. Then God touched them people's hearts. Then
- 8:10Speaker 7: when I walk in there, it's already done. That's how
- 8:14Speaker 7: you capture this thing, folks. It's not a magic trick.
- 8:18Speaker 7: It's just a real simple understanding. Why would you not
- 8:22Speaker 7: put in with God? If you're gonna put in on
- 8:24Speaker 7: your job, that don't make no sense. Where you get
- 8:25Speaker 7: the job from? Where your job? Where your boss get
- 8:29Speaker 7: his position from? Where did this company come from? So
- 8:32Speaker 7: when you peel back to but now that it all
- 8:34Speaker 7: make a lot of sense, don't it. It really does.
- 8:36Speaker 7: And I'm just a common sense god.
- 8:38Speaker 8: You know.
- 8:38Speaker 7: Look, I don't have the education that a lot of
- 8:40Speaker 7: people have, but I gotta show show enough bunch of
- 8:43Speaker 7: life experience. Though Oh I've been I've been getting smacked
- 8:47Speaker 7: and knocked down the majority of my life. Oh I
- 8:50Speaker 7: may look good to you now there look like he
- 8:52Speaker 7: got his shine going on. And I am grateful to
- 8:54Speaker 7: God for my life that I got now because this
- 8:56Speaker 7: show ain't the one I had, But I got news
- 8:58Speaker 7: for you. It ain't the one I thought I was
- 9:00Speaker 7: gonna have until I put in for it. I ain't
- 9:02Speaker 7: see none of this until I put in for it.
- 9:04Speaker 7: And you know, as I saw it shaping and forming,
- 9:07Speaker 7: and I say God, could that really be happening? I
- 9:09Speaker 7: wonder if you could make me this, Lord, I was wondering, Man,
- 9:13Speaker 7: could I really have a syndicated radio show. Lord, I
- 9:16Speaker 7: make it happen. If it's in your will, I put
- 9:18Speaker 7: in for it, put in for it now. I'm working
- 9:21Speaker 7: my tail off now because that's a part of it. See.
- 9:24Speaker 7: But then God tells you that too. He says, faith
- 9:26Speaker 7: without works is dead. I'm working my behind off. But
- 9:30Speaker 7: the big thing is I put in for it. So
- 9:33Speaker 7: I got a bunch of more stuff that I don't
- 9:34Speaker 7: put in for God. I can't tell y'all what it is,
- 9:36Speaker 7: but oh, Lord, have mercy. I'm in line. I'm putting
- 9:40Speaker 7: in for all the blessings that's due me. If God's
- 9:43Speaker 7: passing out of raising blessings, I'm lined up. He passing
- 9:47Speaker 7: out a promotion. He's gonna promote some more blessings. I'm
- 9:49Speaker 7: lined up. He passing out extra checks down at the job.
- 9:54Speaker 7: I'm lined up because I'm putting here. And why don't
- 9:56Speaker 7: you put in too.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:01Speaker 7: Ladies and gentlemen, once two one, two three, I've got
- 10:09Speaker 7: sunshine on a cloudy day, boom boom boom boom boom.
- 10:15Speaker 7: Little swimmer speeded up when it's cold outside. I got
- 10:20Speaker 7: the mother of may doom doom do well. I guess
- 10:26Speaker 7: you say, what can make me feel this way?
- 10:32Speaker 8: My girl, my girl? I just want to say that.
- 10:35Speaker 7: Man talking about myer, my girl. Man, I've got sunshine
- 10:44Speaker 7: on a cloudy day. Man, that's today for me. Man.
- 10:48Speaker 7: I recovered, y'all out to pull thisself together. I'm pulling
- 10:51Speaker 7: myself together. Man. I got to be ungrateful, and I
- 10:55Speaker 7: got to realizing that God didn't bring me, so it's
- 10:57Speaker 7: far to leave me.
- 10:59Speaker 9: That.
- 11:00Speaker 7: Why am I tripping about the condition in this circumstance
- 11:03Speaker 7: I'm going through when clearly I have survived all others
- 11:07Speaker 7: because I'm here. You listen, folks, you are here. Whatever
- 11:14Speaker 7: you're going through, even if it's something new, everything you've
- 11:20Speaker 7: gone through prior to this, you've gotten through it.
- 11:24Speaker 8: Watch this.
- 11:24Speaker 7: You're gonna get through this one too. It ain't over
- 11:27Speaker 7: to the fat lady saying, and I ain't seen him.

- 11:57Speaker 10: her theory is, I have time to go on the
- 12:00Speaker 10: date with you, but you don't have time to buy

- 12:25Speaker 7: have to look at the person you on the date
- 12:28Speaker 7: with both the male and the female. The guy was
- 12:32Speaker 7: paying for the date, doing a gentlemanly thing. You get abusive,
- 12:37Speaker 7: and you go, I'm gonna order my meals for the week.

- 15:26Speaker 9: I don't understand what? All right, let's just just calm down,
- 15:30Speaker 9: Hang on a second. I got a couple questions for you.
- 15:32Speaker 9: Your husband, He is about what five nine? Correct? Right?
- 15:35Speaker 9: And you would agree that Sean weighs about one hundred
- 15:38Speaker 9: and seventy five pounds? Does that sound about right? But
- 15:41Speaker 9: he weighs yeah? Okay, here's another question, No exactly, Morgan.
- 15:46Speaker 9: How tall are you?
- 15:46Speaker 12: I'm five nine as well?
- 15:48Speaker 9: Okay? And if you don't mind, I know it's a
- 15:51Speaker 9: little different type of question, but if you don't mind,
- 15:53Speaker 9: how much do you weigh?
- 15:55Speaker 12: I'm like two hundred?
- 15:56Speaker 9: Wait a minute, what is?
- 15:57Speaker 10: What is?
- 15:57Speaker 1: What is?
- 15:57Speaker 12: How much I weey have to do with it? I
- 16:00Speaker 12: don't what what is wrong with him? And where is why?
- 16:02Speaker 12: Where is he right now?
- 16:03Speaker 9: We actually have him, We have him in our custody.

- 16:08Speaker 9: right now here at our headquarters at HPP. So what
- 16:12Speaker 9: what is what is the HPP, ma'am. HPP is Husband
- 16:17Speaker 9: Protection Program?
- 16:19Speaker 12: Husband protection. I've never I've never heard of such a thing.
- 16:22Speaker 12: Why why is he there here?
- 16:24Speaker 9: Well? The problem we have and we've been getting some
- 16:26Speaker 9: actual complaints or whatnot, and not necessarily from him, but
- 16:30Speaker 9: that you've been bullying your husband.
- 16:32Speaker 12: Okay, you know what. I'm at my job and I'm
- 16:34Speaker 12: gonna need you a hold on one second so I
- 16:36Speaker 12: can go here.
- 16:41Speaker 9: What what? What did you say? Have you and uh
- 16:44Speaker 9: Sean had any arguments at all lately?
- 16:47Speaker 12: How we had We're married? Have we had arguments? Of course,
- 16:49Speaker 12: he had arguments. What does that have to do with anything?
- 16:52Speaker 9: Have you guys had any altercations?
- 16:54Speaker 12: Any altercations?
- 16:56Speaker 9: Yes?
- 16:56Speaker 12: What kind of altercations?
- 16:57Speaker 9: Have you been bullying your husband in a physical way?
- 17:01Speaker 12: I've been burying him. Have you been bullying him?
- 17:07Speaker 9: For somebody to turn in and give us?
- 17:09Speaker 4: Who?
- 17:10Speaker 9: Who? You talk to him? I can't put him on.
- 17:15Speaker 9: This is what I'm talking about, and this.
- 17:16Speaker 12: Is what you're talking about. You've got me at my
- 17:19Speaker 12: guy put off a htt crack and somebody turning somebody
- 17:22Speaker 12: in for some arguments. We're married. Who are you freaking?
- 17:25Speaker 12: Who's married and does not argue?
- 17:27Speaker 9: I understand you, man, but it is my job to
- 17:29Speaker 9: protect husbands that are getting bullied by their wife. This
- 17:33Speaker 9: is out you let me speak for I'm not at
- 17:39Speaker 9: liberty to let you speak to him right now. To you,
- 17:40Speaker 9: what you're not gonna do is bully me as well.

- 56:29Speaker 11: Dear Stephen Shirley, I dated a guy for two years
- 56:32Speaker 11: back in twenty fifteen. I got a job transfer to
- 56:36Speaker 11: another state and he didn't want to do a long
- 56:38Speaker 11: distance relationship, so we parted ways. I was heartbroken and
- 56:44Speaker 11: I considered moving back home and taking an emotion just
- 56:47Speaker 11: to be with him. He was six ' three with
- 56:50Speaker 11: creamy brown skin and wavy hair. He was a basketball coach.
- 56:54Speaker 11: He was a basketball coach at a high school back then. AnyWho,
- 56:59Speaker 11: I got married twenty eighteen and the marriage only lasted
- 57:02Speaker 11: eighteen months. I told my sister that coach had been
- 57:06Speaker 11: on my mind, and she encouraged me to reach out
- 57:09Speaker 11: to him. It took me four years to get around
- 57:12Speaker 11: to it. I called the school where he used to
- 57:15Speaker 11: be a coach. He retired, but they gave me his
- 57:18Speaker 11: email address. I emailed him and he responded. After a
- 57:23Speaker 11: few days. He said he was happy to hear from me,
- 57:25Speaker 11: and he said that we should have gotten married years ago.
- 57:29Speaker 11: My heart was so happy, and I got nervous when
- 57:32Speaker 11: he said he was coming to see me. Two weeks later,
- 57:35Speaker 11: he flew in and got a hotel room and invited
- 57:38Speaker 11: me to dinner. He sent me an uber and there
- 57:40Speaker 11: were flowers on the back seat, and I felt like
- 57:44Speaker 11: a queen. When I got to the restaurant, I looked around,
- 57:47Speaker 11: but the only thing I saw was the back of
- 57:50Speaker 11: a bald headed black man with big shoulders. I was
- 57:53Speaker 11: shocked when that man turned around and I saw it
- 57:56Speaker 11: was coach. He's a big guy, and with him being
- 58:00Speaker 11: so tall, he looked like a giant. We've been dating
- 58:05Speaker 11: six months and our conversation is great and he's still
- 58:09Speaker 11: got a great sense of humor, but intimacy is not good. Recently,
- 58:14Speaker 11: after sex, he asked me to marry him and he
- 58:16Speaker 11: wants to elope. That's fine, but I really need him
- 58:20Speaker 11: to slim down first. How do I ask him to
- 58:23Speaker 11: lose twenty pounds. Do you think it will hurt his feelings? Well, yes,
- 58:29Speaker 11: it's gonna hurt him. It's gonna sting him a bit.
- 58:32Speaker 1: But trust me, he already knows, he really does.
- 58:35Speaker 11: He's retired now and I'm sure he's not as active
- 58:38Speaker 11: as he once was. And he was losing his hair,
- 58:41Speaker 11: so he cut it all off. These things happen sometimes
- 58:45Speaker 11: as we age. It is okay, that's life. But if
- 58:49Speaker 11: you love this man and you want to marry him,
- 58:52Speaker 11: you got to be his friend first, and you gotta
- 58:54Speaker 11: tell him. You gotta be honest with him. But you
- 58:56Speaker 11: got to tell him nicely that you would like for
- 58:58Speaker 11: you You would like for you guys to lose weight,
- 59:01Speaker 11: especially you know him, lose weight, get healthy, get in
- 59:05Speaker 11: shape for the wedding, and you would like to try
- 59:07Speaker 11: it and keep it up and incorporate it into the marriage.
- 59:12Speaker 11: You guys mess it up the first time. You were heartbroken.
- 59:16Speaker 11: He clearly missed you. So this is your second chance
- 59:19Speaker 11: for the two of you to try it again and
- 59:21Speaker 11: get it right this time.
- 59:22Speaker 1: Steve, Yeah, well, no fat shaming.
- 59:28Speaker 8: Oh well, you must excuse me?
- 59:33Speaker 7: Whoa you can do?
- 59:33Speaker 9: It?
- 59:34Speaker 8: Is we Finnah do this letter. Oh, you won't do
- 59:38Speaker 8: another letter?
- 59:40Speaker 7: You mean it ain't no fat shaming, the whole damn
- 59:43Speaker 7: letter about his ass being fat. That's what this whole
- 59:47Speaker 7: fat and bowing. All right, all right, let me see
- 59:50Speaker 7: if I could do this without fat shaming. Okay, let's
- 59:54Speaker 7: look at the numbers. Here. Dated a guy two years
- 59:58Speaker 7: back in two thousand feet fifteen. That's twenty fifteen, two
- 1:00:03Speaker 7: years twenty seventeen, something like that. Got a job transferred,
- 1:00:09Speaker 7: He didn't want to transfer, so you broke up. You
- 1:00:12Speaker 7: were heartbroken, and you thought about taking the demotion. Now
- 1:00:16Speaker 7: you loved the guy. He was six y three, creamy,
- 1:00:19Speaker 7: brown skinned, waving hair. Let's keep all this in mind. Now,
- 1:00:23Speaker 7: six 'y three, creamy, brown skinned, waving.
- 1:00:27Speaker 8: Hell your basketball coach?
- 1:00:31Speaker 7: Any who say I hate when people tell us to
- 1:00:33Speaker 7: her and they go any who like they trying to
- 1:00:35Speaker 7: make light of it. I got married in twenty eighteen,
- 1:00:41Speaker 7: and the marriage only lasted eighteen months.
- 1:00:46Speaker 8: Let's do some math.
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: Let's say she talking about twenty fifteen it ended, she
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: got married three years later, twenty eighteen.
- 1:00:55Speaker 8: It only lasted eighteen months. That's a year and a half.
- 1:00:59Speaker 7: Two thousand and nine. Team damn near twenty twenty. All right, cool,
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: I told my sister, coach been on my mind. She
- 1:01:07Speaker 7: encouraged me to reach out to him. We add four
- 1:01:11Speaker 7: years onto that, and here we are currently from twenty
- 1:01:15Speaker 7: fifteen to current. Reached out to the school that used
- 1:01:20Speaker 7: to coach he retired.
- 1:01:21Speaker 8: They gave me his email. I emailed him. He responded a.
- 1:01:23Speaker 7: Few days later, said he was happy to hear from
- 1:01:25Speaker 7: me and that we should have gotten married years ago.
- 1:01:30Speaker 7: Lord have mercy. I was so happy this woman's sake.
- 1:01:35Speaker 7: I got nervous he was coming to see me. Two
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: weeks later, he flew into town, got a hotel room,
- 1:01:45Speaker 7: invited me to dinner here. Would have let her get good?
- 1:01:50Speaker 7: He sent me an Uber and that would flyers on
- 1:01:56Speaker 7: the back seat. I felt like a queen.
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: What that's queen? I didn't I didn't know you'd get
- 1:02:03Speaker 8: away with that.
- 1:02:04Speaker 7: I send you an Uber and put some flowers on
- 1:02:06Speaker 7: the back seat, and you feel like a queen? What
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: kind of relationship with you in Uber and some flowers?
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: You get to be?
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: Girl?
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: You gonna out? I like dating people like that. It
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: ain't got a very low expectation.
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: I got to the restaurant, I looked around.
- 1:02:26Speaker 7: Only thing I saw was real quick, Steve, the back
- 1:02:29Speaker 7: of a ball headed black man with big shoulders.
- 1:02:33Speaker 11: All right, hang on, keep it right there. We'll have
- 1:02:37Speaker 11: part two of your response coming up. See the twenty
- 1:02:40Speaker 11: three minutes after the hour. Today's strawberry letter. Subject there's
- 1:02:43Speaker 11: more of him to love now. We'll get back into
- 1:02:46Speaker 11: it right after this.
- 1:02:50Speaker 7: Did you know you could now buy a Hondai on Amazon,
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: the same place where you order yoga mats, a toothbrush,
- 1:02:57Speaker 7: and pretty much everything else, all from the comfort of
- 1:02:59Speaker 7: your just located nearby dealer. Pick your color, your options,
- 1:03:04Speaker 7: check the price, and with a few dotting up some
- 1:03:06Speaker 7: eyes and crossing some tea's waila, your Hondai is ready
- 1:03:11Speaker 7: for pick up. It's that easy.
- 1:03:13Speaker 5: Visit hunda usa dot com for more details. Limited availability
- 1:03:17Speaker 5: pick up through participating Hondai dealers and select markets.
- 1:03:20Speaker 11: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's strawberry letter.
- 1:03:23Speaker 11: The subject is there's more of him to love now?
- 1:03:28Speaker 7: All right, very quickly, because we got to get to
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: the crux of what this letter is about. A woman
- 1:03:33Speaker 7: dated a man back in twenty fifteen had been gone.
- 1:03:35Speaker 7: She loved him. It was great. She got a job transfer.
- 1:03:37Speaker 7: She had some transfer. He said he couldn't transfer. He
- 1:03:40Speaker 7: was a high school basketball coach. He just couldn't leave
- 1:03:43Speaker 7: his team, his boys. She wanted to go over her life,
- 1:03:46Speaker 7: so she left. They broke up, They parted ways, she
- 1:03:49Speaker 7: got married. The marriage only lasted a year and a half.
- 1:03:52Speaker 7: She told her sister, I'd always be thinking about my coach.
- 1:03:55Speaker 7: He was six y three, creamy, brown skin, curly hal
- 1:04:03Speaker 7: little sister told her reach out to him. Took her
- 1:04:06Speaker 7: four years to do it. Finally she reached out to
- 1:04:10Speaker 7: him and emailed him. He led me and mailed her
- 1:04:12Speaker 7: right back a couple of days later and said we
- 1:04:15Speaker 7: should have gotten married years ago.
- 1:04:17Speaker 8: Oh my god. I was so happy. And then he said,
- 1:04:20Speaker 8: I'm flying into town to see you.
- 1:04:23Speaker 5: Oh.
- 1:04:24Speaker 8: He came into town, got a hotel room. She was excited.
- 1:04:29Speaker 8: Six three, creamy skin, curly half.
- 1:04:33Speaker 7: She sent him my uber. He sent her an uber
- 1:04:37Speaker 7: and put flowers on the back seat. She felt like
- 1:04:40Speaker 7: a queen. She got to the restaurant, here we go,
- 1:04:44Speaker 7: and all she saw and looking around, but the only
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: thing she saw was the.
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: Back of a ball headed black man with big shoulders. Now,
- 1:04:55Speaker 8: wait a minute. The dude I remember.
- 1:04:59Speaker 7: Had apparently half, but he was sixty three. All I
- 1:05:05Speaker 7: saw was the ball head black man with big shoulders.
- 1:05:09Speaker 7: I was shocked when he turned around and saw that
- 1:05:12Speaker 7: it was coach.
- 1:05:14Speaker 5: Damn.
- 1:05:15Speaker 8: Now here we go.
- 1:05:16Speaker 7: He was a big guy, and with him being so tall,
- 1:05:20Speaker 7: he looked like a giant. Well, we've been dating for
- 1:05:25Speaker 7: six months. See how that turned real fast? I guess
- 1:05:29Speaker 7: guess you didn't want to put in here. Your ass
- 1:05:31Speaker 7: had picked up a little bit of way too, because
- 1:05:33Speaker 7: obviously the weight didn't stop you. So not everybody picked
- 1:05:37Speaker 7: up a little bit because wasn't no need of you dog,
- 1:05:40Speaker 7: and him knowing your ass ain't what you was so
- 1:05:43Speaker 7: right after he found out he was a big guy
- 1:05:45Speaker 7: when he looked like a giant, we been dating for
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: six months and our conversation is great and he still
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: got a great sense of humor. Oh oh, but intimacy
- 1:05:55Speaker 7: is not good. Here we go, boy, don't bring it
- 1:06:01Speaker 7: like he used to bring it. Then gain too much
- 1:06:04Speaker 7: damn weight. Now here the problem with this letter right here,
- 1:06:08Speaker 7: all the wheezing and stuff, because see, I'm gonna tell
- 1:06:10Speaker 7: you here's the problem with the letter. Recently, after sex,
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: he asked me to marry him, and he wants to elope.
- 1:06:19Speaker 8: Elope means to run away.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Fat people can't run get married.
- 1:06:26Speaker 8: Well, you are the last time you seen person that
- 1:06:28Speaker 8: break out running.
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: Elope. Y'all gonna, y'all gonna slope off somewhere. But you're
- 1:06:36Speaker 7: not gonna Elope, And you want to know why? She say,
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: that's fine, But I really need him to slim down first.
- 1:06:44Speaker 7: How do I ask him lose twenty pounds? Here's the
- 1:06:47Speaker 7: problem with the whole letter. You need to learn your weights.
- 1:06:50Speaker 7: This is more than twenty. This ain't twenty pounds.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: How do you know that?
- 1:06:55Speaker 7: Though? Twenty pounds don't turn you into a giant, she said,
- 1:07:01Speaker 7: with him being so tall, he looked like a giant.
- 1:07:05Speaker 7: That ain't twenty pounds. Lady, know your weights, big boy?
- 1:07:12Speaker 7: Those woe big boy that picked on forty five fifty
- 1:07:17Speaker 7: he lose twenty You might not even be able to
- 1:07:19Speaker 7: tell now his bald head, I can't help you right there.
- 1:07:26Speaker 7: The curly hair gone probably ain't coming back. But that giant,
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: you Dayton, that's having us. The intimacy is not good
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: because he heavy, and it's how he tied. Now he
- 1:07:41Speaker 7: can't hold hisself up. You know you got to be
- 1:07:43Speaker 7: able to brace yourself. Men, if you're gonna be in
- 1:07:45Speaker 7: the love making position, you got to be able to
- 1:07:47Speaker 7: lock your elbows. If you can't lock your elbows longer
- 1:07:50Speaker 7: than twenty seconds, you gonna be raggedy in there, because
- 1:07:54Speaker 7: you got to be able to lock them elbows way
- 1:07:56Speaker 7: longer than twenty seconds, because that's one of the most
- 1:07:58Speaker 7: justle power position you're in now. When you can lock
- 1:08:00Speaker 7: your elbows, that's a power position. And if you can't
- 1:08:03Speaker 7: bring power for fifteen seconds, fifteen seconds normally, don't get
- 1:08:06Speaker 7: the job done. I just want to throw that out there.
- 1:08:09Speaker 7: Fifteen seconds ain't gonna really produce the reaction. You won't
- 1:08:13Speaker 7: cause you can't hold yourself up because you asked. And God, big,
- 1:08:16Speaker 7: this ain't twenty pounds any ball hitting, not sweat, just
- 1:08:20Speaker 7: dripping right on you direct because ain't no had.
- 1:08:22Speaker 8: To catch it.
- 1:08:24Speaker 7: So now he just dripping on you, and the sex
- 1:08:27Speaker 7: ain't good. As soon as he got through having sex,
- 1:08:30Speaker 7: he want to get married.
- 1:08:32Speaker 8: And he want to.
- 1:08:33Speaker 7: Elope, why y'all gott to run? How old are y'all?
- 1:08:36Speaker 7: Why y'all gotta run away?
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: Just have a wed?
- 1:08:39Speaker 7: And Elope, what is y'all running from? She called the
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: man the big ball head jihnt come talking about can
- 1:08:47Speaker 7: I get him lose twenty pounds?
- 1:08:49Speaker 8: First of all, you need to learn your weights. Twenty
- 1:08:51Speaker 8: pounds don't make you no giant. Now I know. Ain't
- 1:08:53Speaker 8: nobody been on this show close to sixty three? Butt me,
- 1:08:57Speaker 8: butt me?
- 1:08:58Speaker 7: Oh oh, I'm.
- 1:09:00Speaker 8: Telling you twenty pounds ain't gonna make me no jail. Hey,
- 1:09:03Speaker 8: because I lost thirty four pounds and I wasn't a giant.
- 1:09:07Speaker 7: Big boy needn lose some more weight with his weed
- 1:09:09Speaker 7: and ass, and you have to let him know about
- 1:09:12Speaker 7: the twenty That's how you know you need to get
- 1:09:13Speaker 7: in shape, because some friend of yours.
- 1:09:15Speaker 8: Has to tell you.
- 1:09:18Speaker 18: At m on Instagram and shape had told me I
- 1:09:22Speaker 18: was please and check out the Strawberry Letter podcast on

- 1:10:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, twelve pick black man head coach.

- 1:10:58Speaker 7: is good man.

- 1:11:03Speaker 10: we don't know how he's gonna move forward.
- 1:11:04Speaker 5: Oh no, it's turning to clean house. Everybody got to go.

- 1:13:14Speaker 1: thank you.
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: I like that kind of stupidity. I see. That's different from.
- 1:13:18Speaker 1: You're judging, right, don't judge him.
- 1:13:22Speaker 11: Tommy coming up at the top of the hour, Steve,
- 1:13:25Speaker 11: a man on social media, needs your advice. He says,
- 1:13:27Speaker 11: family game night ended in tears. We'll talk about it
- 1:13:31Speaker 11: right after this.
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show, all right?
- 1:13:36Speaker 11: Steve so Terry on Steve Harvey FM says that he
- 1:13:40Speaker 11: needs some advice from you. He says, we've all been
- 1:13:43Speaker 11: in the house the last few days due to the
- 1:13:45Speaker 11: winter storm, and my kids wanted to play Monopoly last night.
- 1:13:50Speaker 11: The game was so long and it ended up turning
- 1:13:52Speaker 11: into a full blown heated argument, accusations of cheating, and
- 1:13:57Speaker 11: one person storming off in tea. On one hand, I
- 1:14:01Speaker 11: need my kids to be able to deal with adversity,
- 1:14:04Speaker 11: challenging situations, and how to be a good loser. But
- 1:14:08Speaker 11: on the other I'm wondering if I should just stop
- 1:14:10Speaker 11: family game nights altogether. What do you think, no more
- 1:14:13Speaker 11: game night to keep the peace? Or give game night
- 1:14:16Speaker 11: another chance?
- 1:14:17Speaker 7: I give game night another chance, But you know there
- 1:14:21Speaker 7: ain't your houses on that Monopoly. That ain't real money. Boardwalk, Yeah,
- 1:14:30Speaker 7: Boardwalk starts at all, though you ain't got no hotel.
- 1:14:33Speaker 7: What happened though? Here. The fight start when you roll
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: your dice and you to shoot, and now you march
- 1:14:43Speaker 7: your shoe down there and you land on boardwalk or
- 1:14:46Speaker 7: park place and it's a hotel sitting on it. You
- 1:14:51Speaker 7: got to play, and your ass ain't got enough money
- 1:14:55Speaker 7: or property to cover that landed.
- 1:15:00Speaker 8: And you asked the tenant the landlord for a break.
- 1:15:08Speaker 7: Yeah, and you find out who your people really off. Yeah,
- 1:15:14Speaker 7: you find out right away. If you ever need an apartment,
- 1:15:17Speaker 7: who not the rent from. And that's what happens at Monopoly.
- 1:15:21Speaker 7: So I leave game night and let them go on
- 1:15:23Speaker 7: and play. But if you end up, if you crying
- 1:15:26Speaker 7: over Monopoly, you need to you need to be very
- 1:15:29Speaker 7: careful because life got something for your ass or because
- 1:15:32Speaker 7: everything in that Monopoly game you find to get a chance,
- 1:15:35Speaker 7: turn up, card turnover, you fin to find a treasure.
- 1:15:40Speaker 7: The treasure ain't gonna be what you think it is,
- 1:15:42Speaker 7: and you're gonna end up somewhere your ass ain't supposed
- 1:15:45Speaker 7: to be. God, you gonna end up somewhere your ass
- 1:15:52Speaker 7: ain't supposed to be. And then bills is coming, water
- 1:15:56Speaker 7: works electricity they own. Now I ain't played it in
- 1:16:01Speaker 7: a long time. Well, we stay out the hood Baltic Avenue, Connecticut,
- 1:16:07Speaker 7: all regular, orient purple and powder blue.
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: Don't even buy it.
- 1:16:13Speaker 7: Even if you get a hotel, there's thirty dollars if
- 1:16:15Speaker 7: they land on that you're to mess around your hotel
- 1:16:19Speaker 7: and moteil six.
- 1:16:22Speaker 11: All right, See, we have time for another one. This
- 1:16:24Speaker 11: is from Sherry on Steve Harvey FM. Cherry says, I
- 1:16:28Speaker 11: recently found out that my boyfriend of two years has
- 1:16:31Speaker 11: been cheating on me with a married woman. I immediately
- 1:16:34Speaker 11: broke it off with him and severed all ties. I
- 1:16:36Speaker 11: hear from mutual friends that he's still sleeping with the woman.
- 1:16:40Speaker 11: We live in a small town, and from what I hear,
- 1:16:43Speaker 11: her husband is a nice guy. He has no idea
- 1:16:47Speaker 11: what his wife is up to and doesn't deserve to
- 1:16:49Speaker 11: be kept in the dark. They've only been married for
- 1:16:53Speaker 11: about a year, and I feel badly for him. Should
- 1:16:55Speaker 11: I tell him that his wife's cheating or just stay
- 1:16:58Speaker 11: out of it?
- 1:16:58Speaker 7: They, ma'am, don't do that. Don't do that. He's a
- 1:17:04Speaker 7: nice guy, and I feel bad for him. You're gonna
- 1:17:07Speaker 7: mess round and get your boyfriend killed. Okay, don't don't
- 1:17:12Speaker 7: do that, because this guy you think is a nice
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: guy he ain't that nice boy his wife that ain't.
- 1:17:19Speaker 7: Look you just found out you're dating the wrong guy.
- 1:17:23Speaker 7: And and let me just just the suggestion, fellas, just
- 1:17:27Speaker 7: there are plenty women out here, plenty, There are no
- 1:17:30Speaker 7: shortage of women out here. Don't date nobody. Don't don't
- 1:17:35Speaker 7: date nobody, wife though, don't do that, bro. That leads
- 1:17:39Speaker 7: to some things, man, that you really don't. You don't
- 1:17:43Speaker 7: even just stay away from people's wives. Man, there's plenty
- 1:17:46Speaker 7: spreef you go cheat. A lot of people out here
- 1:17:48Speaker 7: be willing to cheat with you. Ain't no problem about that.
- 1:17:51Speaker 7: Go y'all considering adults. But when you go get a
- 1:17:54Speaker 7: man's wife though, So don't click click click click, because
- 1:18:05Speaker 7: that's all she trying to do is get back at board.
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: That's what it is, for sure.
- 1:18:09Speaker 8: That's all that is.
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: All right, all right, Steve, thank you.

- 1:24:47Speaker 7: Hey, you know what my clos remarks today is something
- 1:24:49Speaker 7: that I was having a conversation with the person me
- 1:24:52Speaker 7: sile and they were really really really just being really
- 1:24:55Speaker 7: hard on theyself, and they were just really in a
- 1:24:58Speaker 7: position where they were just really upset with their self
- 1:25:02Speaker 7: to the point where it was like it was hard
- 1:25:04Speaker 7: to listen to. And finally it got through it and
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: I said, bro, I said, man, why you so hard
- 1:25:08Speaker 7: on yourself?
- 1:25:10Speaker 8: Yeah?
- 1:25:10Speaker 7: Man, because I'm trying to get it right and all
- 1:25:13Speaker 7: this here and I just can't. I said, hey, man, hey,
- 1:25:16Speaker 7: pull up, pull up, pull up, I said, brother, listen
- 1:25:19Speaker 7: to me. I cannot tell you how many times I've
- 1:25:23Speaker 7: gotten it wrong, how many mistakes. It's countless, the number
- 1:25:29Speaker 7: of mistakes I've made. I said, brother, I'm a public figure.
- 1:25:33Speaker 7: I've made mistakes out loud. I've had to look at
- 1:25:39Speaker 7: some of my mistakes play out on the internet. I said,
- 1:25:44Speaker 7: But brother, give yourself some grace, because God has grace
- 1:25:51Speaker 7: for you. Listen, man, there's none perfect, no, not one.
- 1:25:57Speaker 7: Stop beating yourself up to the point where you you
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: can't recover. Sometimes we just keep doing ourselves. Man, Stop
- 1:26:06Speaker 7: beating yourself up. Stop listening to these people telling you
- 1:26:10Speaker 7: about these lives of perfection. Get off Instagram looking at
- 1:26:15Speaker 7: these people's lives that ain't how they life go. Don't
- 1:26:20Speaker 7: nobody post on Instagram man had a rough one today.
- 1:26:25Speaker 7: Ain't nobody posting on Instagram? Man, I spent all my money.
- 1:26:28Speaker 8: I'm broke.
- 1:26:30Speaker 7: No, they show you a big check, they got a
- 1:26:32Speaker 7: stack of money, they got a car they driving. Ain't
- 1:26:34Speaker 7: nobody on ig telling you the repo man looking for it.
- 1:26:39Speaker 7: Ain't nobody telling you that we got a viction. Notice.
- 1:26:41Speaker 8: Ain't nobody showing you that they lights is off.
- 1:26:44Speaker 7: They just showing you the sunshine, and half the shine
- 1:26:48Speaker 7: they got going on ain't really sun at all. And
- 1:26:53Speaker 7: you sitting up and you getting yourself all worked up
- 1:26:56Speaker 7: and beat up because you comparing yourself to everybody else.
- 1:26:58Speaker 7: Can I tell you something about everybody else?
- 1:27:00Speaker 8: Mind?
- 1:27:01Speaker 7: Everybody else struggling too, everybody going through something that. Ain't
- 1:27:07Speaker 7: nobody living their life problem free.
- 1:27:11Speaker 8: Now.
- 1:27:11Speaker 7: What they are, though, are people who have learned how
- 1:27:14Speaker 7: to cope with it and handle it better than some others.
- 1:27:18Speaker 7: And that's the position you got to be in. But
- 1:27:21Speaker 7: start with forgiving yourself. But you know I harped on
- 1:27:25Speaker 7: this a little bit earlier in one of my close
- 1:27:27Speaker 7: remarks a couple days ago. Part of our problem, too,
- 1:27:31Speaker 7: is we allow too many people in our space who
- 1:27:34Speaker 7: keep reminding us of our past, and that don't allow
- 1:27:38Speaker 7: you to move forward either. Stop having these these old
- 1:27:42Speaker 7: woe is meet conversations about what I did and what
- 1:27:45Speaker 7: I have and that's why I'm here now. Stop having
- 1:27:48Speaker 7: that conversation because you keep yourself right there in that position.
- 1:27:53Speaker 7: Sow what you did it, sow what you had. The baby,
- 1:27:57Speaker 7: the baby here. Now, make your life for what it
- 1:28:02Speaker 7: is gonna be, cause the baby is here now. But
- 1:28:06Speaker 7: it was a mistake. You tied my life up, it
- 1:28:09Speaker 7: slowed me down. Got all that, but the baby here. Now,
- 1:28:12Speaker 7: let's move forward. You got a beautiful child. Let's move forward.
- 1:28:18Speaker 7: Whether you really intended for it or not, you have it.
- 1:28:21Speaker 7: The baby's beautiful. It's a blessing. Let's go. Stop allowing
- 1:28:27Speaker 7: people in your life to keep bringing up your past
- 1:28:30Speaker 7: and holding you to your past. Your past belongs to history,
- 1:28:34Speaker 7: the future belongs to God. All you got is right now,
- 1:28:38Speaker 7: and your job is to make the best of right now.
- 1:28:41Speaker 7: That's what the whole Lord's prayers about. Give us this
- 1:28:44Speaker 7: day our daily bread. You just gotta get through today,
- 1:28:48Speaker 7: and it's hard to get through today if you keep
- 1:28:50Speaker 7: living in the past. Man, get up. God has forgiven you.
- 1:28:56Speaker 7: Why don't you forgive yourself. Don't go through to a
- 1:29:00Speaker 7: twenty five dwelling on what we're wrong in twenty twenty four.
- 1:29:03Speaker 7: It's a new year. Yeah, people talking about all the time,
- 1:29:06Speaker 7: Happy new year. Okay, gonna be happy.
- 1:29:09Speaker 8: Man. I messed up in twenty twenty four, got it?
- 1:29:12Speaker 8: Yeah you did.
- 1:29:13Speaker 7: I made some mistakes in twenty twenty four, myself, got it.
- 1:29:17Speaker 7: But what they got to do with today? Because God
- 1:29:20Speaker 7: has giving you clearly another opportunity to get up, to
- 1:29:26Speaker 7: get it right and to move forward. That's what waking
- 1:29:29Speaker 7: up is all about. Is waking up. It's about getting
- 1:29:33Speaker 7: it right, getting it together, and moving forward. That's what
- 1:29:38Speaker 7: today is for. But if you're gonna stay in yesterday,
- 1:29:43Speaker 7: you're gonna hinder your progress. Don't let your past mistakes
- 1:29:48Speaker 7: define your future because it belongs to history.
- 1:29:52Speaker 8: Now listen to me.
- 1:29:54Speaker 7: Of course, there are some things we've done in our
- 1:29:57Speaker 7: past that we may still be having the consequences of today.
- 1:30:01Speaker 7: But those consequences don't all have to be dire. There's
- 1:30:04Speaker 7: a bright side to everything. I've said this a million
- 1:30:08Speaker 7: times on this show. Behind every moment of adversity, there's
- 1:30:10Speaker 7: a lesson and a blessing.
- 1:30:12Speaker 8: Y'all.
- 1:30:12Speaker 7: Made some mistakes in my past, and it took me
- 1:30:15Speaker 7: years to recover from some of it. But I learned
- 1:30:17Speaker 7: the lesson and I got the blessing out of it. Man,
- 1:30:23Speaker 7: everything bad happened to you ain't really that bad. Oh
- 1:30:26Speaker 7: I got a divorce. You better start clapping, because guess
- 1:30:31Speaker 7: what you could still be with them?
- 1:30:34Speaker 6: Hello?
- 1:30:35Speaker 7: How was that?
- 1:30:36Speaker 8: I hate?
- 1:30:36Speaker 7: I got a divorce? Well, how'd you like living in
- 1:30:39Speaker 7: that house of abuse? How'd you like living in that
- 1:30:41Speaker 7: house with all that cheating going on? How'd you like
- 1:30:43Speaker 7: living in that house with somebody that wasn't helping you
- 1:30:45Speaker 7: fulfill your dreams? Man, you gotta sign I got you
- 1:30:49Speaker 7: hurt boyt the divorce, But man, it's a blessing too.
- 1:30:51Speaker 7: Get up, y'all. Get up, Stop beating yourself up. Talk
- 1:30:55Speaker 7: to God, form a relationship with God. Ask God for
- 1:30:59Speaker 7: forgiveness for whatever you've done. He gives it, He wipes
- 1:31:02Speaker 7: his slate clean. Get up, move on, twenty twenty five
- 1:31:06Speaker 7: could be a better year for you. If you keep
- 1:31:08Speaker 7: dragging an old one along with you, you just quit
- 1:31:11Speaker 7: dragging it with you. Twenty twenty fourth. Ain't here no folk,
- 1:31:15Speaker 7: ladies and gentlemen. Talk to God. He would absolutely love
- 1:31:20Speaker 7: to hear from you.
