- 0:00Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Jack Houston is the grandson of legendary filmmaker John Houston,
- 0:06Speaker 2: but he's made his career as an actor like a
- 0:08Speaker 2: ant Angelica Houston. That is, until now. He makes his
- 0:11Speaker 2: directorial debut with his new feature film, Day of the Fight,
- 0:13Speaker 2: about a prize fighter making a redemptive return to the
- 0:16Speaker 2: ring after a stint in prison. Jack's biggest acting role
- 0:19Speaker 2: came on Boardwalk Empire, playing disfigured war veteran Richard Harrow.
- 0:23Speaker 2: The star Jack's new movie is former Boardwalk coastar Michael Pitt,
- 0:26Speaker 2: who starred as Jimmy and famously earned a reputation for
- 0:28Speaker 2: being temperamental. In fact, his Boardwalk character's rumored to have
- 0:31Speaker 2: been killed off because producers found Michael too difficult. Those
- 0:35Speaker 2: persistent rumors damaged his career, but that very experience was
- 0:38Speaker 2: exactly why Jack saw Michael is the perfect actor for
- 0:41Speaker 2: Day of the Fight. He tells Deadline, I knew him
- 0:43Speaker 2: my gut. There was nobody else for this film. What
- 0:46Speaker 2: he's been through over the last ten years on the
- 0:47Speaker 2: outs of Hollywood. When you talk about second chances, redemption
- 0:50Speaker 2: or sacrifice, what this character is going through Mike was
- 0:53Speaker 2: going through a lot of these things himself. Day of
- 0:55Speaker 2: the Fight hits theaters this year.
- 0:57Speaker 1: That's direct from Hollywood.
