- 1:41Speaker 1: Got to turn the mouth turn.
- 1:43Speaker 4: You probably got to turn the mouth turn out a
- 1:47Speaker 4: wad of the water jump.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Come come on, you think.
- 2:02Speaker 3: I sure will?
- 2:03Speaker 8: Good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, Come on,
- 2:07Speaker 8: dig me now, one and only. Steve Harvey got a
- 2:11Speaker 8: radio show. You know this week, I just been on it,
- 2:14Speaker 8: So today is no different. I'm telling you, I've just
- 2:18Speaker 8: reinvigorated myself. I'm more determined to share the principles of success.
- 2:24Speaker 8: I'm more determined to help and guide and teach as
- 2:29Speaker 8: many people as I can the things that I've learned.
- 2:32Speaker 2: And I mean, man, I've been through it. I have
- 2:34Speaker 2: really been through it. I kid you not.
- 2:36Speaker 9: You know.
- 2:37Speaker 8: I used to say, Okay, God, you know, why is
- 2:39Speaker 8: all this happening to me? But as I've gotten older,
- 2:42Speaker 8: I understand that was the ingredients. I needed the ingredients
- 2:47Speaker 8: to be this cake. I needed all those ingredients stirred up.
- 2:52Speaker 8: I need all of that different flavors, the stuff that
- 2:54Speaker 8: I didn't think tastes so good. All that stuff had
- 2:57Speaker 8: to come into the bowl in order for me to
- 3:00Speaker 8: get to where I am today. As much as I
- 3:03Speaker 8: did not like the taste of the ingredients, little did
- 3:08Speaker 8: I know God was making this cake, not me. But
- 3:11Speaker 8: what he did was And you've heard the old saying
- 3:14Speaker 8: God could turn lemons into lemonade.
- 3:18Speaker 2: Well that's what he was doing now.
- 3:20Speaker 8: At the time, it all had a little funky lemonade
- 3:25Speaker 8: lemony flavor to it, with some other stuff in it too.
- 3:29Speaker 2: I didn't care for it.
- 3:30Speaker 8: But little did I know that I needed everything that
- 3:33Speaker 8: happened to me, that happened to me in the exact
- 3:36Speaker 8: order that it happened, and the exact array of things
- 3:39Speaker 8: that happened for me to have the knowledge I have today,
- 3:42Speaker 8: the experience, the attitude, so I could turn around and
- 3:48Speaker 8: share that information. Okay, got that out the way. This
- 3:53Speaker 8: is what I want to give to you today. I
- 3:55Speaker 8: want you to understand something that discipline determines your destiny,
- 4:01Speaker 8: not your desire. Discipline determines your destiny, not your desire.
- 4:08Speaker 8: You've heard me say this how many times on the show. Okay,
- 4:11Speaker 8: here we go. Again, Steve, I got it. Faith without
- 4:15Speaker 8: works is dead. But let me tell you something. To
- 4:18Speaker 8: be a hard worker, you got to be disciplined. That's
- 4:21Speaker 8: one of the hardest lessons I'm trying to get through
- 4:24Speaker 8: to my sons. You're gonna throw yourself down a cliff
- 4:28Speaker 8: if you're not a young man or a man that
- 4:30Speaker 8: possesses discipline. Because they got something for undisciplined people. They
- 4:36Speaker 8: got some street laws for undisciplined people, and they got
- 4:39Speaker 8: some federal laws and state laws for undisciplined people. So
- 4:44Speaker 8: that's why them signs is outside on the freeway, We're
- 4:47Speaker 8: gonna let you go fast, but seventy is the limit.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Seventy fast enough.
- 4:51Speaker 8: Really, if you're disciplined enough of a person to leave
- 4:55Speaker 8: your house at the time you're supposed to leave your house,
- 4:58Speaker 8: seventy miles per hour is absolutely enough. But if you're
- 5:02Speaker 8: an undisciplined person, if you don't have the wherewithal to
- 5:06Speaker 8: leave your house on time, to get ready to go
- 5:09Speaker 8: where you wanna go, see the desires where you wanna go,
- 5:13Speaker 8: the discipline is how you get there.
- 5:16Speaker 2: You understand, you can wanna go to see your family.
- 5:19Speaker 8: In California all you want, but the flight leaves at
- 5:24Speaker 8: one eighteen, You leave your house at twelve thirty. They
- 5:27Speaker 8: told you you must check in one hour before your flight. Now,
- 5:33Speaker 8: if you ain't got the discipline to get to the
- 5:35Speaker 8: airport to check in one hour before your flight, leaving
- 5:39Speaker 8: your house forty five minutes before the flight departs, what
- 5:42Speaker 8: you think gonna happen?
- 5:44Speaker 2: Your desire to go see your family in la.
- 5:48Speaker 8: Is going to be thwarted because you lack the discipline
- 5:52Speaker 8: to prepare yourself and get yourself ready to do the
- 5:55Speaker 8: things that you have to do to make your desires
- 5:58Speaker 8: come true. I'm telling you, discipline determines your destiny, not
- 6:03Speaker 8: your desire. You can write down a list of stuff
- 6:06Speaker 8: you wanna do all day, but if you don't produce
- 6:09Speaker 8: and show the discipline necessary to get.
- 6:11Speaker 2: There, what you think gonna happen?
- 6:14Speaker 3: Huh?
- 6:15Speaker 8: Okay? I wanna be rich. Okay, I wanna make four
- 6:20Speaker 8: hundred thousand a year. Okay, I wanna be the best
- 6:25Speaker 8: player that they is. Okay, but you don't want practice.
- 6:29Speaker 8: See the cat that's disciplined enough to show up at practice,
- 6:32Speaker 8: that's shooting jumpers when everybody gone home. That's the guy
- 6:36Speaker 8: that's gonna be the best. The guy that's never late
- 6:39Speaker 8: for practice, the guy to study the playbook. That's the
- 6:42Speaker 8: guy that's gonna make it, not the guy that's talking crack,
- 6:45Speaker 8: got stalking that smack. I'm gonna make the Pro Bowl,
- 6:48Speaker 8: I'm gonna make the All Star Team, I'm gonna be
- 6:50Speaker 8: All American. That's just what you're saying. But discipline determines
- 6:55Speaker 8: your destiny, not your desire. So now let's talk about
- 6:59Speaker 8: this discipline. What is that, really, Steve.
- 7:02Speaker 2: That's your work ethic, that's your hunger, that's your wheel.
- 7:07Speaker 8: Discipline is how hard you're willing to demonstrate the attributes
- 7:14Speaker 8: and the traits to be what you want to be.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Did you hear me?
- 7:19Speaker 8: It is your willingness to conduct yourself in a manner
- 7:24Speaker 8: that is above and beyond what they say is necessary.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Now, this is a good example right here.
- 7:30Speaker 5: Now.
- 7:31Speaker 8: You can want to be in the NFL all you want,
- 7:34Speaker 8: but they got this thing called the NFL Combines where
- 7:37Speaker 8: they bring in some of the top players at every
- 7:40Speaker 8: position to come in and they gonna run a forty
- 7:43Speaker 8: yard dash, They're gonna do a standing broad jump, They're
- 7:47Speaker 8: gonna do a standing vertical leap, they gonna do.
- 7:52Speaker 2: Drills, running drills, cutting drills.
- 7:55Speaker 8: They can determine if a lineback of God's stiff hips
- 7:59Speaker 8: by making point him in one direction and throw the
- 8:02Speaker 8: football in another direction, how does he turn his body?
- 8:05Speaker 8: Now you can say you can tell everybody at your
- 8:07Speaker 8: college you wanna play pro football. You can tell everybody
- 8:10Speaker 8: at your high school. You can tell them in pee
- 8:11Speaker 8: wee you wanna play pro football. But they got tests
- 8:14Speaker 8: for you though. It's called the combines. Now you get
- 8:17Speaker 8: out here and you have a bad combine day, ain't
- 8:20Speaker 8: nobody trying to hear that. Let me tell you how
- 8:22Speaker 8: excuses don't work with people when they just trying to
- 8:24Speaker 8: get when they trying to win in the NFL. The
- 8:28Speaker 8: fact that you had a bad day at the combine
- 8:30Speaker 8: and you don't run your best forties and you keep
- 8:33Speaker 8: telling them you could do better, they don't want to
- 8:35Speaker 8: hear that. Because see, what ain't nobody gonna pay you
- 8:37Speaker 8: for is to play on Sunday. And that's one of
- 8:40Speaker 8: your bad days. We paying you to play on Sundays.
- 8:45Speaker 8: But because you keep having these bad days, because you
- 8:49Speaker 8: ain't disciplined enough to put in the work to make
- 8:51Speaker 8: sure that your maximum can be called upon at any time.
- 8:55Speaker 8: Now you at to combine with some slow times that
- 8:58Speaker 8: go on your record. You have to combine. You don't
- 9:01Speaker 8: jump as high as you did when you was at
- 9:02Speaker 8: the gym class. Well, hold up, man, this is show
- 9:05Speaker 8: day now in the NFL. Sunday is show day. What
- 9:10Speaker 8: they can't run the risk of is paying you your
- 9:12Speaker 8: money and your bad day happen to be on Sundays
- 9:15Speaker 8: after we don't cut your check. No, no, no, We
- 9:18Speaker 8: looking for people who limit them bad days, who got
- 9:21Speaker 8: the discipline to work hard, to make an effort for it.
- 9:24Speaker 8: You understand what I'm saying to your folks. Please understand this.
- 9:28Speaker 8: Discipline determines your destiny, not your desire. If you can
- 9:33Speaker 8: want it all you want, But if you ain't working,
- 9:36Speaker 8: if you ain't grinding, if you ain't hurting, if you
- 9:40Speaker 8: ain't sweating real bad, if you always somewhere, got to chill,
- 9:45Speaker 8: You got to have a cold one, you got.
- 9:47Speaker 2: To smoke one, You got to do all them things.
- 9:49Speaker 2: Can I tell you something you ain't gonna make it?
- 9:53Speaker 2: Discipline determines your destiny, not your desire.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You're listening hard Morning show.
- 10:02Speaker 8: Ladies and gentlemen, you know what it's time again, It's
- 10:05Speaker 8: time to give thanks and honor to God, to tell
- 10:07Speaker 8: him how much you appreciate this opportunity.
- 10:09Speaker 10: Man.
- 10:09Speaker 8: Another great gift is called the present. We are living
- 10:13Speaker 8: in the present. They call it the present because it
- 10:16Speaker 8: is a gift. It is a gift to be here, man,
- 10:19Speaker 8: it really really is. It's a lot of people not
- 10:21Speaker 8: here no morning. As much you may miss them, and
- 10:23Speaker 8: I miss some people that's gone on, but man, I'm
- 10:26Speaker 8: show glad I'm still here because I don't know what
- 10:29Speaker 8: he doing, but I like waking up to find out.
- 10:32Speaker 8: Thank you, Heavenly Father, everything you've done for me, all
- 10:36Speaker 8: the hardships and trials I have survived because they've done
- 10:39Speaker 8: nothing but teach me the things I needed to know.
- 10:42Speaker 8: Everything you're going through is preparing you for what you
- 10:45Speaker 8: ask God for. So lock in, get yourself together, Come on,
- 10:49Speaker 8: enjoy this day.
- 10:50Speaker 5: Man.
- 10:50Speaker 8: Ain't no need a tripping because guess what, you could

- 12:36Speaker 2: Yeah, well I just stopped at Yeah you know what,

- 12:56Speaker 8: I'm not going well, So I have to do that
- 12:59Speaker 8: every now and then. And I to purge my closet
- 13:01Speaker 8: and give away the stuff that I'm not gonna wear
- 13:03Speaker 8: because somebody could wear it and get good use out
- 13:05Speaker 8: of it, and I don't wear my stuff out. So
- 13:08Speaker 8: all my stuff looked practically new. And so I had

- 54:21Speaker 3: We got it for you. Here it is Strawberry Letter.
- 54:24Speaker 1: Thank you, Nephew. Subject I Knew it was too good
- 54:26Speaker 1: to be true. Dear Stephen Shirley.
- 54:28Speaker 7: I'm thirty three years old and I've been dating this
- 54:31Speaker 7: great guy that a friend introduced me too. He's thirty
- 54:35Speaker 7: eight years old, never been married and no children. He
- 54:37Speaker 7: looks good, smells good, and he has a good job.
- 54:40Speaker 7: We started dating a month ago when he invited me
- 54:43Speaker 7: to his class reunion.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Recently.
- 54:45Speaker 7: They had ourdoeures and drinks and he fixed us a
- 54:48Speaker 7: plate of food to share. He was killing these tuna
- 54:51Speaker 7: sandwiches that were cut into tiny triangles, and I told
- 54:55Speaker 7: him and didn't smell right to me. Three hours later,
- 54:58Speaker 7: he excused himself to go to the bathroom and he
- 55:01Speaker 7: was gone for thirty minutes. He texted me and said
- 55:04Speaker 7: to meet him at his car, and he asked me
- 55:06Speaker 7: to drive him home. He went straight to the bathroom.
- 55:09Speaker 7: When we got to his house, I did not go
- 55:12Speaker 7: to the bathroom door to check on him. He finally
- 55:15Speaker 7: came out of the bathroom and said he was going
- 55:17Speaker 7: to take a shower and get into bed. He asked
- 55:21Speaker 7: me if I would stay with him. I said no,
- 55:24Speaker 7: and I suggested that he go to the er if
- 55:27Speaker 7: he's that much in pain. I got in an uber
- 55:30Speaker 7: and I went home. The next day, I called to
- 55:33Speaker 7: check on him and he said he didn't want to
- 55:35Speaker 7: talk to me ever again.
- 55:36Speaker 1: Since I didn't seem to care that he was sick.
- 55:38Speaker 7: The night before, he said, I don't know how to
- 55:41Speaker 7: take care of a man. What more could I have
- 55:43Speaker 7: done for him that night? Do I try to work
- 55:46Speaker 7: things out with him or let him go? There's really
- 55:50Speaker 7: nothing to work out. I mean, you both showed who
- 55:52Speaker 7: you really are. That's when you get to see the
- 55:54Speaker 7: real character, the true character of a person, like in
- 55:58Speaker 7: trying times like these. If he's sick or if something
- 56:01Speaker 7: happened to you, then you get to see. So you saw, okay,
- 56:04Speaker 7: he was sick with what sounded like food poisoning. You
- 56:07Speaker 7: drove him home after he asked you. He said after
- 56:11Speaker 7: he got home that he was going to take a
- 56:12Speaker 7: shower and go to bed, and at that point it
- 56:16Speaker 7: was okay that you went home. You obviously didn't feel
- 56:19Speaker 7: comfortable staying there. I mean, you guys have only been
- 56:22Speaker 7: dating for a month. At the reunion, you told him
- 56:25Speaker 7: the tuna sandwiches didn't smell right. He didn't listen. He
- 56:29Speaker 7: scarfed them down anyway. You also suggested that he go
- 56:33Speaker 7: to the er if he was in that much pain.
- 56:36Speaker 7: He didn't respond to that either, and you didn't offer
- 56:38Speaker 7: to take him. You called the next morning to check
- 56:42Speaker 7: on him, which shows you do care. You were concerned,
- 56:45Speaker 7: but he was mad that you didn't stay the night
- 56:47Speaker 7: with him, and he said you didn't know how to
- 56:49Speaker 7: take care of a man.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Well, that was insulting.
- 56:51Speaker 7: I mean, maybe a glimpse of what's to come if
- 56:54Speaker 7: something else happens between you two, if you stay in this.
- 56:57Speaker 1: So I think it's good that you got let go
- 57:00Speaker 1: your separate ways.
- 57:01Speaker 3: Steve.
- 57:02Speaker 2: Wow, you and I differ on this one so much,
- 57:06Speaker 2: so much.
- 57:07Speaker 8: This is a sad, sad letter because you know, she
- 57:11Speaker 8: said the subject of the letters, I knew it was
- 57:13Speaker 8: too good to be true.
- 57:14Speaker 2: Really, well, ladies, here we go.
- 57:19Speaker 8: Let's just walk down this from the male perspective, because
- 57:22Speaker 8: I know sometimes you don't like to do that, but
- 57:25Speaker 8: let's just look at this from the male perspective. That's
- 57:28Speaker 8: what I'm gonna do because I'm trying to find out
- 57:30Speaker 8: in this letter what his dude is wrong at I'm struggling, okay,
- 57:35Speaker 8: And I'm being real with y'all because and you'll understand
- 57:38Speaker 8: what I'm saying as I take you through this. You're
- 57:40Speaker 8: thirty three years old. You've been dating this great guy
- 57:46Speaker 8: that a friend introduced you to. He's thirty eight, never
- 57:49Speaker 8: been buried in no children, he looks good, smells good,
- 57:53Speaker 8: he has a good job. We started dating a month ago. Okay,
- 57:57Speaker 8: so that means this, that's this we're about to describe
- 58:00Speaker 8: as not a first date. They started dating a month ago. Now,
- 58:07Speaker 8: there's nothing in this letter that says this woman is
- 58:09Speaker 8: going by the ninety day rule or anything. All we
- 58:13Speaker 8: know is the facts is they've been dating for a month,
- 58:16Speaker 8: which means they've been out on several occasions.
- 58:18Speaker 2: Ain't nobody gonna take you to the class reunion first date?
- 58:20Speaker 5: That?
- 58:21Speaker 2: Ain't that ain't a good look? So okay, here we go.
- 58:26Speaker 8: Or derbs and drinks. He fixed play of food for
- 58:28Speaker 8: us to share. He was killing these tune of sandwiches
- 58:31Speaker 8: cut into triangles. I told him it didn't smell right
- 58:33Speaker 8: to me. Three hours later, he excused himself to go
- 58:36Speaker 8: to the bathroom. He was gone for thirty minutes. He
- 58:39Speaker 8: texted me and said to meet him at his car.
- 58:42Speaker 8: He asked me to drive him home. He went straight
- 58:45Speaker 8: to the bathroom. When we got to his house, I
- 58:48Speaker 8: did not go to the bathroom door to check on him.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Right there.
- 58:52Speaker 8: Okay, let's just make note of that. She didn't even
- 58:55Speaker 8: go to the bathroom door to check on him. You know, look,
- 58:57Speaker 8: if somebody leaves in the middle of their class reunion
- 59:02Speaker 8: asked you to come to the car and drive them home,
- 59:06Speaker 8: something's wrong. Something is wrong. Number one, You didn't even
- 59:12Speaker 8: go to the bathroom door to checkoder. And this is
- 59:14Speaker 8: you writing the letter. This ain't him accusing you of nothing.
- 59:17Speaker 8: You're telling us what you did and did not do.
- 59:20Speaker 8: So you didn't even go to the bathroom door to checkoder.
- 59:22Speaker 8: He finally came out of the bathroom and said he
- 59:25Speaker 8: was going to take a shower, which means he been
- 59:29Speaker 8: sweating pretty hard. And tuna sandwiches was cutting in twenty
- 59:35Speaker 8: That tuna was doing this damn thing. I've had a
- 59:41Speaker 8: bad oystry before when you get hold of some bad
- 59:44Speaker 8: seafood woo. This boy was in there eating that tuna,
- 59:50Speaker 8: and that tuna was doing what tunah do, swimming around,
- 59:57Speaker 8: making waves and running. That's what tuna doing the while,
- 1:00:02Speaker 8: that's what it was doing in his stomach. That sandwich
- 1:00:05Speaker 8: that he had chewed up got back together and formed
- 1:00:08Speaker 8: an actual tuna and was down in his stomach cutting
- 1:00:13Speaker 8: up all right now. He finally came out the bathroom,
- 1:00:16Speaker 8: said he was gonna take shower and get in the bed.
- 1:00:19Speaker 8: He asked me if I would stay with him. I
- 1:00:22Speaker 8: said no, and I suggest that he go to the
- 1:00:25Speaker 8: er if he was in that much pain. I get
- 1:00:27Speaker 8: in the uber and I went home. Damn, the dude
- 1:00:31Speaker 8: is in enough pain. He he ain't trying to trap
- 1:00:34Speaker 8: you into stay in Ah girl, are you glue?
- 1:00:37Speaker 6: Hang?
- 1:00:38Speaker 7: Hang on, you'll have part two of Steve's response coming
- 1:00:42Speaker 7: up at twenty three minutes after the hour. Today's Strawberry
- 1:00:44Speaker 7: letter subject I knew it was too good to be true.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: We'll get back into it right after this. You're listening
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:00:53Speaker 7: All right, come on, Steve, let's recap today's Strawberry letter,
- 1:00:56Speaker 7: the subject I knew it was too good to be true.
- 1:00:59Speaker 8: I knew it now, Like I said earlier, if you
- 1:01:02Speaker 8: weren't here, Shirlen and I's response is quite different because,
- 1:01:05Speaker 8: of course, I have a different perspective, because it's the
- 1:01:08Speaker 8: male perspective.
- 1:01:09Speaker 2: Women don't get to have that perspective.
- 1:01:11Speaker 3: Now.
- 1:01:11Speaker 8: This woman says in this letter, I knew it was
- 1:01:13Speaker 8: too good to be true. She's thirty three. She met
- 1:01:15Speaker 8: a man through some friends who's thirty eight.
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: Great guy.
- 1:01:18Speaker 8: She says it off now this is this woman writing
- 1:01:20Speaker 8: this letter. Great guy, look good, smell good, got a
- 1:01:23Speaker 8: good job. They've been dating for a month. He invites
- 1:01:26Speaker 8: her to the class reunion. They get it to class reunion.
- 1:01:30Speaker 8: Now this man right here to invited this woman to
- 1:01:33Speaker 8: the class reunion. He if a dude, don't care nothing
- 1:01:36Speaker 8: about you. He not taking you to the class reunion.
- 1:01:39Speaker 8: This is the flex moment. So now he going, hey, man,
- 1:01:43Speaker 8: look what I got. This is after how many years?
- 1:01:46Speaker 8: This but that's about the twenty year reunion. You at
- 1:01:48Speaker 8: the twenty year you He thirty eight. He had his
- 1:01:50Speaker 8: twenty year reunion, graduated when he was eighteen. And he going, hey, hey,
- 1:01:54Speaker 8: look what iut' find. I ain't never been married, I
- 1:01:58Speaker 8: ain't got no kids. Man, look what I found. Ladies,
- 1:02:02Speaker 8: take note of that. He took you to a very
- 1:02:05Speaker 8: important moment right here. All after this is just meeting
- 1:02:09Speaker 8: the mama. If you can meet the mama after this,
- 1:02:10Speaker 8: you pretty much locked in. I've been dating for a month.
- 1:02:12Speaker 8: He takes you to the class for you. He eats
- 1:02:14Speaker 8: some tuna sandwiches. You told him wasn't good. He hard hited.
- 1:02:17Speaker 8: He ate your tune of sandwiches. Anyway, He ended up,
- 1:02:20Speaker 8: going to the bathroom for thirty minutes. Then he texted
- 1:02:22Speaker 8: you and said meet him at the car. Something happened
- 1:02:24Speaker 8: in that bathroom. Traumatic. Traumatic. Not only could you meet
- 1:02:30Speaker 8: me at the car, can you dry this damn car home?
- 1:02:33Speaker 8: I'm in pain?
- 1:02:36Speaker 3: He'd get to the house.
- 1:02:36Speaker 8: He go in the bathroom for thirty minutes, He come out,
- 1:02:39Speaker 8: told up, did he look dishovel?
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: Probably deep? And then he went straight to the bathroom.
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: Got to the house. You didn't, she said, I didn't
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: go to the bathroom door to check on him.
- 1:02:50Speaker 3: Okay, cool.
- 1:02:52Speaker 8: He finally came out of the bathroom, said he was
- 1:02:54Speaker 8: gonna take a shower and get into bed. He asked
- 1:02:56Speaker 8: me if I would stay with him. I said no,
- 1:02:59Speaker 8: and I suggested he go to the er. If he's
- 1:03:02Speaker 8: in that much pain, why don't you stay with the man.
- 1:03:05Speaker 8: He didn't ask you to sleep with him. You said,
- 1:03:07Speaker 8: if he has so much pain, go to the er.
- 1:03:10Speaker 8: You didn't offer to take him to the er. You
- 1:03:13Speaker 8: didn't offer to stay with him. Where the soup at,
- 1:03:15Speaker 8: where the cracker is at, where that's at. You know
- 1:03:18Speaker 8: that's all you had to do. Hey, Look, I'll stay
- 1:03:21Speaker 8: in here on the couch with you let me check
- 1:03:23Speaker 8: on you, make sure you're okay. That's all the man
- 1:03:26Speaker 8: won't you gotta cook?
- 1:03:28Speaker 3: See right here.
- 1:03:34Speaker 8: At cooking soup coming a can that ain't cooking? Lord
- 1:03:38Speaker 8: her mercy chusetts. Help her in the kitchen.
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: It's heating up some soup. Who can make soup?
- 1:03:50Speaker 3: Anyway?
- 1:03:50Speaker 8: I got in an uber and I went home, So
- 1:03:54Speaker 8: that means he picked her up, took her to the event.
- 1:03:58Speaker 8: She drove his call to the high She got in
- 1:04:00Speaker 8: the uber and went home. The next day I called
- 1:04:02Speaker 8: a check on him. He said he didn't even want
- 1:04:04Speaker 8: to talk to me ever again, since I didn't seem
- 1:04:07Speaker 8: to care that he was sick the night before. He said,
- 1:04:10Speaker 8: I don't know how to take care of a man,
- 1:04:12Speaker 8: and I have news for you. You don't because it
- 1:04:15Speaker 8: just would have been a little thoughtful thing to say, Hey,
- 1:04:18Speaker 8: let me stay with you at least till you fall
- 1:04:19Speaker 8: asleep and feel better. Then you could have left home.
- 1:04:22Speaker 8: Oh no, I'm not staying in him. He wasn't trying
- 1:04:25Speaker 8: to trick you and get you into the bed. The
- 1:04:27Speaker 8: man was obviously sick. He'd have left his class reunion.
- 1:04:30Speaker 8: It wasn't a trap to get you to the house.
- 1:04:33Speaker 8: Something was seriously wrong with this man, and you didn't
- 1:04:37Speaker 8: think enough of him, and he.
- 1:04:39Speaker 3: Was testing you. He was testing you to see.
- 1:04:42Speaker 8: Now, Shirley said, y'all need to break up because both
- 1:04:45Speaker 8: of you showed who you really were. Well, yeah, he did.
- 1:04:49Speaker 8: He showed that he was looking for somebody to care
- 1:04:52Speaker 8: for him. You decided to show him. And then Shirley said,
- 1:04:56Speaker 8: you find out in moments like this who people really are.
- 1:05:00Speaker 8: Did he found out exactly who you really was? He
- 1:05:03Speaker 8: was sick and didn't feel well, and you bounced and
- 1:05:06Speaker 8: he told you right, you don't know how to treat him. Man,
- 1:05:09Speaker 8: And he thought he had something too. He should have
- 1:05:12Speaker 8: wrote this letter and said it was too good to
- 1:05:14Speaker 8: be true because he thought you would at least just
- 1:05:16Speaker 8: care about it. That's all you had to do. He
- 1:05:19Speaker 8: didn't say, Look, sleep with me, has sex with me.
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: I feel better in the morning. Now I'm sick. I'm
- 1:05:24Speaker 8: gonna take a shower, get in his bed. Would you
- 1:05:26Speaker 8: stay with me?
- 1:05:27Speaker 5: No?
- 1:05:28Speaker 8: I'm getting it, Ober. Heat the man up, some soup,
- 1:05:31Speaker 8: get him some crackers, where a pepto bismol. You ain't
- 1:05:33Speaker 8: did nothing? What more could I have done for him?
- 1:05:37Speaker 2: That night?
- 1:05:37Speaker 8: It's called comfort. It's called concern. It's the thing that
- 1:05:42Speaker 8: I teach all married men show concern. They just want
- 1:05:47Speaker 8: to know that you're listening. Man, that all time want
- 1:05:49Speaker 8: you to fix nothing. I used to think they wanted
- 1:05:51Speaker 8: to fix, so I had suggestions. They don't even want
- 1:05:54Speaker 8: to fix. Sometimes they just want to verbalize it, you know, man.
- 1:05:57Speaker 8: That's how they work stuff through. They talk it out.
- 1:06:01Speaker 8: So bruh, just show concern. What you had opportunity to do,
- 1:06:04Speaker 8: young lady, was show concern and you didn't do. I
- 1:06:08Speaker 8: try to work things out with him or let him go?
- 1:06:10Speaker 8: What you're finn to do? You know what you're finn
- 1:06:12Speaker 8: to let go? These are your words. Now read your letter.
- 1:06:15Speaker 8: A great guy that a friend introduced me to. He's
- 1:06:18Speaker 8: thirty eight years old, never been married, no children, He
- 1:06:20Speaker 8: looks good, smells good, and he has a good job. Okay,
- 1:06:24Speaker 8: now you're gonna let him go and go get.
- 1:06:27Speaker 2: What are you?
- 1:06:29Speaker 5: Are? You?
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: Are?
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: You?
- 1:06:30Speaker 2: Are?
- 1:06:30Speaker 6: You?
- 1:06:30Speaker 3: Are?
- 1:06:31Speaker 5: You?
- 1:06:31Speaker 2: Are you ignorant?
- 1:06:32Speaker 9: What?
- 1:06:32Speaker 3: What is it? What is it?
- 1:06:35Speaker 8: You're gonna let him go because you missed an opportunity
- 1:06:38Speaker 8: to learn how to treat a man. Didn't That probably
- 1:06:40Speaker 8: why you ain't got.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: Nobody post your comments.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: Because you don't know how to treat a man. No,
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: you probably don't deserve to do.

- 1:10:29Speaker 1: You're listening hard morning show. All right, Steve?
- 1:10:34Speaker 7: This is from AJ on Facebook. AJ says on Thanksgiving,
- 1:10:38Speaker 7: I wanted to do my part to help with the
- 1:10:40Speaker 7: family gathering. When I arrived, everyone was there and quote
- 1:10:44Speaker 7: my part eventually became a babysitter, clown, and side show
- 1:10:48Speaker 7: for four different sets of children, nine in all, while
- 1:10:52Speaker 7: everyone else prepared the feast. This was fine with me,
- 1:10:55Speaker 7: I'm good at it, but it didn't stop certain family
- 1:10:58Speaker 7: members from taking shots at me for doing nothing while
- 1:11:01Speaker 7: they did all the work. I pointed out that being
- 1:11:05Speaker 7: a comedian, punching bag referee, fight monitor, and amateur physician
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: for nine bad but kids for six hours is not easy,
- 1:11:13Speaker 7: and my sister shot back asking if I wanted a trophy. Yes,
- 1:11:18Speaker 7: I do now want a trophy and expected How pretty
- 1:11:22Speaker 7: is it that I want to send her daily reminder?
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: How petty is it?
- 1:11:26Speaker 3: Excuse me?
- 1:11:26Speaker 7: How petty is it that I want to send her
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: daily reminders that I am fully expecting a trophy under
- 1:11:31Speaker 7: the tree for Christmas?
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Or am I just tripping.
- 1:11:36Speaker 8: Yeah, you're tripping. And you took a long time to
- 1:11:38Speaker 8: tell us this story, which we really don't even care about. Listen,
- 1:11:42Speaker 8: give damn and you know what, and let me explain
- 1:11:44Speaker 8: something to you. The reason you got to watch kids
- 1:11:48Speaker 8: because your ass can't cook. Got the same thing Shirley
- 1:11:51Speaker 8: got to do when she go around her family. For
- 1:11:54Speaker 8: surely got to sit in there and watch them kis
- 1:11:56Speaker 8: because surely ask cook, well, love these kid because you
- 1:12:01Speaker 8: no love this kitchen. When you can't cook on Thanksgiving,
- 1:12:06Speaker 8: they know to keep you out the kitchen. Now they
- 1:12:08Speaker 8: messing with you. And it's really a ball about your cooking.
- 1:12:11Speaker 8: If you could cook, you would have a designated dish.
- 1:12:14Speaker 8: You got me to specialize in the family box. They
- 1:12:17Speaker 8: know who they want to make mac and cheese. They
- 1:12:19Speaker 8: know who they know want to make the dressing. They
- 1:12:22Speaker 8: know who good at the yams and stuff. They know
- 1:12:25Speaker 8: who need to be taking care of that turkey. You
- 1:12:28Speaker 8: can't do just none of that.
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: I like to eat, So I'm all good.
- 1:12:34Speaker 3: At the kids table and eat.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: So he's he's tripping about this trophy?
- 1:12:45Speaker 3: Is it a heat?
- 1:12:47Speaker 2: Ah, don't matter, Okay, cook what you want? All right?
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: This one's from Lolite. If I think we have time
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: for this one too, Lolita.
- 1:13:02Speaker 7: And Steve Harvey says, every Thanksgiving, my family ends up
- 1:13:06Speaker 7: in a heated political debate, and yep, you guess it,
- 1:13:09Speaker 7: it happened again and ruined our Thanksgiving. I love my family,
- 1:13:13Speaker 7: but the predictability of these arguments spoiling our holiday is
- 1:13:17Speaker 7: something I can't stand. Our next gathering is on Christmas Eve,
- 1:13:21Speaker 7: Uncle Steve in the Morning Crew. How can I see
- 1:13:23Speaker 7: the conversations away from politics and keep the peace if
- 1:13:27Speaker 7: it comes up?
- 1:13:30Speaker 3: What should she do? Everybody got a good win knowing
- 1:13:35Speaker 3: we're gonna we're gonna lead the politics.
- 1:13:37Speaker 2: At the film.
- 1:13:38Speaker 3: Yeah, just have good family.
- 1:13:41Speaker 2: Yeah, have it at your house and then make the
- 1:13:43Speaker 2: rules because it's your house.
- 1:13:46Speaker 3: Okay, whoever house.
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: Is that can make house rules.
- 1:13:50Speaker 3: But what if somebody breaks the rule?
- 1:13:51Speaker 10: What if somebody brings up politics and they break the rules?
- 1:13:54Speaker 3: Put the answer?
- 1:13:56Speaker 2: Oh yeah, you're gonna eat you. You're gonna have your
- 1:13:58Speaker 2: plate on the porch.
- 1:14:01Speaker 3: Christ is cold.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: You have a little table set out on the porch.
- 1:14:07Speaker 3: For all these political views you have in right now
- 1:14:12Speaker 3: the main one didn't vote yet, know, Okay, you've been
- 1:14:21Speaker 3: off seeing in So that'll take you right on it.
- 1:14:23Speaker 3: And the conversation been off that.
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it does.
- 1:14:29Speaker 8: Put on that YouTube channel West Snoopy narrating them animal movies.
- 1:14:38Speaker 2: Had damn Snoop Bobby, y'all in that.
- 1:14:42Speaker 3: They tripping.
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: All right, So that's your solution to that problem, Lolita,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: okay it don't let them do it. Don't let them
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: do it.
- 1:14:53Speaker 3: Nope.

- 1:21:54Speaker 7: so be honest with yourself. You gotta define the relationship. Okay,
- 1:21:58Speaker 7: if it's temporary, still a relationship. Define the expectations and
- 1:22:03Speaker 7: the boundaries that you have.
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: Sex. Is there no kissing?
- 1:22:07Speaker 3: What steve that?

- 1:22:21Speaker 2: That is a small country.
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: Well that's what. That's what you have to do. Define
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: the relationship.
- 1:22:25Speaker 8: Now, guys, since we're gonna be together over the holidays,
- 1:22:30Speaker 8: we must lower your expectations on your Christmas gift.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: I know you're gonna say that, sir.
- 1:22:40Speaker 8: If you're not gonna be in my future, you cannot
- 1:22:45Speaker 8: affect my income.

- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Went nothing to do with me going on with you
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: about my day and then.
- 1:23:20Speaker 3: Right that means you want me to sit here and
- 1:23:22Speaker 3: care about what's going on at your job, and I
