- 2:03Speaker 1: morning everybody, y'all listening to the voice. I come on
- 2:07Speaker 1: Dignity NW one and only Steve Harley got a radio show.
- 2:12Speaker 1: I was. I had my head down and it was
- 2:17Speaker 1: thinking of what I wanted to say this morning. But
- 2:21Speaker 1: it kind of it's kind of be something I've lived
- 2:25Speaker 1: for a long time, and you know, for a long time,
- 2:30Speaker 1: you know, I had a lot of faith in people.
- 2:33Speaker 1: You know. It's strange too, because you know, you know,
- 2:36Speaker 1: my mother was a Sunday school teacher, so of course
- 2:39Speaker 1: I grew up around it, knowing the scriptures and things
- 2:43Speaker 1: like that. Not not a lot of them, but you know,
- 2:45Speaker 1: the ones I retained. But having her as a mother
- 2:50Speaker 1: was was a huge help and understanding about faith. But
- 2:53Speaker 1: even with that, as I grew up, I began to
- 2:57Speaker 1: put a lot of faith in people. And you know,
- 3:01Speaker 1: I figured, you know, just like everybody else, you know,
- 3:04Speaker 1: man if I could just meet this person, or if
- 3:06Speaker 1: I could just sit down with that person, or man
- 3:09Speaker 1: if I could just get this person to hear my ideal,
- 3:13Speaker 1: or man if if this person could hear my track,
- 3:17Speaker 1: or man if I could just get this in the
- 3:19Speaker 1: hands or somebody in the know. I was, like everybody else,
- 3:23Speaker 1: I thought that way. You know, I actually thought that
- 3:26Speaker 1: if I could get in a certain situation with a
- 3:28Speaker 1: certain person, that if a certain person were to meet me,
- 3:33Speaker 1: that you know, it could change everything for me. Oh man,
- 3:37Speaker 1: Oh how wrong I was? Oh how wrong I was?
- 3:42Speaker 1: How long did I spend feeling that way? And how
- 3:45Speaker 1: many of you out there possibly have felt that way before?
- 3:48Speaker 1: You know, like even in a relationship, this is the
- 3:51Speaker 1: person for me, and you know, you just lay claim
- 3:54Speaker 1: to that, you know, not necessarily being a fact, but
- 3:57Speaker 1: you just lay claim to it. This is the person
- 4:00Speaker 1: for me, This is the person that I want to
- 4:02Speaker 1: spend the rest of my life with. You know, sometimes
- 4:04Speaker 1: you know, we just lay claim to stuff. And it's
- 4:06Speaker 1: not always what's in our best interests, or it's not
- 4:09Speaker 1: always a fact. It's just what we decided we want it.
- 4:13Speaker 1: And I was guilty of that, just like anybody else.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And I spent a lot of years in my life
- 4:18Speaker 1: putting faith in people. Man, if I could tell you
- 4:21Speaker 1: anything this morning, it's to stop putting your faith in
- 4:25Speaker 1: people and put your faith in God where it counts
- 4:28Speaker 1: the most. I mean, you can get something out of
- 4:31Speaker 1: this one. See, here's a deal about a relationship with God.
- 4:34Speaker 1: It's the same all the time. He never changes. His
- 4:39Speaker 1: word is one absolute. His word doesn't have loopholes in it,
- 4:44Speaker 1: none of that. It's this is what it is. He's
- 4:47Speaker 1: very clear. Now, you can deviate off your end at
- 4:51Speaker 1: a bargain, but it don't stop what he says from
- 4:55Speaker 1: being true. But if he asks you to do something,
- 4:57Speaker 1: if God asks you to be certain way, to do
- 5:00Speaker 1: a little something a certain way, and you don't do
- 5:02Speaker 1: it that way, then you know you could still possibly
- 5:07Speaker 1: get by for a while. But don't you understand that
- 5:11Speaker 1: his end of the deal stays the same, and as
- 5:13Speaker 1: long as you're not doing it the way you're supposed to,
- 5:16Speaker 1: the results are not going to be what you wanted
- 5:18Speaker 1: to be. And I did this for years and years
- 5:21Speaker 1: and years, and I counted on people, and you know,
- 5:24Speaker 1: I got myself in a lot of situations. And I
- 5:27Speaker 1: got out one a dire situation that I'd been in
- 5:30Speaker 1: for a number of years. But he had protected me
- 5:33Speaker 1: from years prior to that. I didn't even know what
- 5:35Speaker 1: was going on, and then he made it away. It
- 5:38Speaker 1: made me aware of the problem. And then, man, lord
- 5:41Speaker 1: ha mercy, I was in a dismal situation. And then
- 5:44Speaker 1: at the end of the year, I was free, free
- 5:47Speaker 1: from it all. But it was a decision that I
- 5:50Speaker 1: had made that led up to that, and in going
- 5:54Speaker 1: through that process, I had to learn something. Man. I
- 5:58Speaker 1: learned a lot about people. If you want to learn
- 6:01Speaker 1: about your friends, if you want to learn about your
- 6:03Speaker 1: people people around you, Get yourself in some trouble, get
- 6:08Speaker 1: yourself in a situation. Oh man, you start looking around. Man,
- 6:12Speaker 1: the field get real clear when you're in trouble. The
- 6:16Speaker 1: field clear is out when you're in doubt, when you
- 6:19Speaker 1: don't know what to do, when you need help, it
- 6:22Speaker 1: get real clear on the play and field, then don't it. Oh,
- 6:25Speaker 1: But when things is going right, it's time for a party.
- 6:28Speaker 1: We throw in a celebration. We were gonna We're gonna
- 6:31Speaker 1: do one down here. Oh man, there's plenty of people
- 6:34Speaker 1: on the field. But but but get yourself in a situation.
- 6:37Speaker 1: You find out rather quickly that old no, old no,
- 6:41Speaker 1: everybody ain't here. And that's when I started learning. And
- 6:45Speaker 1: I'm telling you, I had to start learning this for
- 6:48Speaker 1: real until I finally got it to stop putting my
- 6:51Speaker 1: faith in people and put all of mine in God
- 6:54Speaker 1: where it counts the most. Now is that to say
- 6:57Speaker 1: that there are people that you can't trust. No, that's
- 6:59Speaker 1: not what I'm saying. I ain't say you can't trust him,
- 7:02Speaker 1: but you can't dump your faith in him. I got
- 7:05Speaker 1: it all riding on what he say. I got it
- 7:08Speaker 1: all riding on what she say. Na, Na, No, I
- 7:15Speaker 1: hear you saying it. But I'm gonna keep my own
- 7:18Speaker 1: on this situation because I hear you saying it. But
- 7:22Speaker 1: I'm gonna take this faith of mine and instead of
- 7:24Speaker 1: putting it in people, I'm gonna put it in God
- 7:27Speaker 1: where it counts the most. Because his word is absolute.
- 7:30Speaker 1: What he say he gonna do, he gonna do what
- 7:33Speaker 1: he says. He's not gonna tolerate. He's not gonna tolerate. Now,
- 7:36Speaker 1: you can make it, you can make it tolerable for yourself,
- 7:38Speaker 1: but he's not gonna tolerate it. And that's just the
- 7:41Speaker 1: end of the line. And so you know, I'm wondering
- 7:44Speaker 1: how many people out there find themselves in a situation
- 7:47Speaker 1: like me. Or maybe you've gotten yourself in a situation
- 7:50Speaker 1: because you put your faith in some people and now
- 7:52Speaker 1: you wound up in a different type of situation. Now,
- 7:54Speaker 1: let me ask you, whetting people at the only one
- 8:00Speaker 1: that I found when I was in my deepest trouble,
- 8:03Speaker 1: when me and my wife were in our darkest situation,
- 8:07Speaker 1: was God. It is the only one, was the only
- 8:10Speaker 1: one who was just right there, right there, all the
- 8:14Speaker 1: way through. Now, let me explain something to you. Because
- 8:20Speaker 1: you have this relationship with God, it does not mean,
- 8:24Speaker 1: it does not mean now that it won't get it
- 8:27Speaker 1: won't still be a situation, you understand. But what He
- 8:32Speaker 1: will do is protect you during that period. He'll cover
- 8:36Speaker 1: you during that period that it is a situation. He
- 8:40Speaker 1: will give you the strength to overcome the situation when
- 8:44Speaker 1: it turns into a situation. Then when he cracks it
- 8:47Speaker 1: open for you, and the sun is bright and shining.
- 8:50Speaker 1: What he don't want you to do is when he
- 8:52Speaker 1: gets sunny again, to forget about him, who was there
- 8:56Speaker 1: when it was dark for you. See, I used to
- 8:58Speaker 1: do that too, you know. I was Oh, man, I
- 9:01Speaker 1: did it. I'm telling you right now, I did it.
- 9:04Speaker 1: But I'm telling you man, when I learned a very
- 9:07Speaker 1: serious lesson, and I watched some people I thought were
- 9:11Speaker 1: friends of mine just sort of casually remove themselves from
- 9:16Speaker 1: the situation. Then I said, okay. Me and Margie looked around.
- 9:21Speaker 1: We said okay, it's just me, you and God, and
- 9:24Speaker 1: we started conducting ourselves accordingly. So when it's sunny for us,
- 9:29Speaker 1: we remember God. We stay prayerful, we keep talking to him.
- 9:34Speaker 1: We thank him for the sunshine, we thank him for
- 9:36Speaker 1: the dark days that he allowed us to do, who
- 9:39Speaker 1: allowed us to survive it and turn it into sunny days.
- 9:42Speaker 1: And we talked to him constantly to protect us of
- 9:45Speaker 1: our future enemies. And that's what the deal is. So
- 9:48Speaker 1: if I was everybody, I would stop putting your faith
- 9:50Speaker 1: in people and put your trust in God where it
- 9:53Speaker 1: really does count the most, it really really does. You're listening, ladies,
- 10:02Speaker 1: and gentlemen, it's that time again. It's called morning. It's
- 10:06Speaker 1: the time of the day that's great and the words
- 10:08Speaker 1: of my mother when I used to walk out to
- 10:09Speaker 1: the house to go to school every morning. Today is
- 10:12Speaker 1: the day that the Lord has made. Boy, let us
- 10:15Speaker 1: rejoice and be glad in it. They didn't quite understand
- 10:18Speaker 1: that when I was growing up, but it started sinking in.
- 10:21Speaker 1: I got it now, Mama. I am glad to be
- 10:24Speaker 1: alive today. And however it goes, I know he's working
- 10:28Speaker 1: on my behalf behind the scenes, and I expect nothing
- 10:32Speaker 1: but great things to happen, even in the midst of
- 10:35Speaker 1: turmoiland's trial. I am holding fast to his unchanging hands.
- 10:42Speaker 1: Good morning, Shirley, Amen, Good morning, Yeah, I'm locked in load.
- 10:46Speaker 1: What's self calling for? Red? Amen again? What's going on? Steve? Happened?
- 10:51Speaker 1: And four complimenters. Morning of the youngest of the comedians
- 10:56Speaker 1: on the show killed junior speech. Morning up. I appreciate
- 11:02Speaker 1: that the oldest one on the show, for the legend,
- 11:06Speaker 1: the one who helped nurturing me in my early days
- 11:10Speaker 1: of comedy, taught me more things I knew about comedy
- 11:14Speaker 1: to day than anybody. Ladies and gentlemen, Jay Anthony Brown,
- 11:17Speaker 1: Thank you so much. Steve Harvey, that council's church with
- 11:20Speaker 1: two am are gathered, hallelujah. And then the one that
- 11:25Speaker 1: we're all trying to explain but somehow has managed to
- 11:29Speaker 1: become the king of pranks. Nephew, Tommy, your size stupid
- 11:36Speaker 1: is in the building. Thank you so much. So what's
- 11:38Speaker 1: going on with this election? You all were having a
- 11:41Speaker 1: discussion before it got started. What's happening? I was asking
- 11:45Speaker 1: why Booker and Biden were arguing. Yeah, Well what happened
- 11:51Speaker 1: was Joe Biden said something about segregation is back in
- 11:55Speaker 1: the day, how he used to work with them and
- 11:59Speaker 1: they got things done. Uh, And he's refusing to apologize
- 12:03Speaker 1: for that because Booker and I think Kamala Harris took
- 12:05Speaker 1: an issue with it that he even brought the segregationists
- 12:09Speaker 1: into the conversation, the fact that they used to do something.
- 12:12Speaker 1: So he's refusing to apologize as a matter of fact
- 12:14Speaker 1: that yeah, I mean made it very clearly. Yeah, like
- 12:19Speaker 1: their politics, he just worked wanting to get stuff done
- 12:21Speaker 1: and that's it, and they wanted to apologize. He says,
- 12:24Speaker 1: I'm not apologize. Yeah, And he also said I don't
- 12:27Speaker 1: have a racist bone in my body. Joe Biden said
- 12:29Speaker 1: that he said Booker should apologize. Uh, he knows better.
- 12:33Speaker 1: Biden said, I do not have a racist bone in
- 12:36Speaker 1: my body. So this is graz It was at a
- 12:38Speaker 1: fundraiser on Tuesday night when when m Biden, you know what,
- 12:43Speaker 1: I was just talking about him an apology. Yeah, that's
- 12:47Speaker 1: what I just said, because yeah, he's saying, yeah, he's saying,
- 12:50Speaker 1: you know, they're saying trying to say that he's a racist.
- 12:53Speaker 1: Biden is like, that's not it anyway. You know what
- 12:56Speaker 1: the Democrats are doing. This really pissing me off that
- 13:00Speaker 1: the Republicans are not doing. The Democratic candidates are forming
- 13:05Speaker 1: a circular firing squad and they put somebody in the
- 13:10Speaker 1: middle and then they all open five they end up
- 13:14Speaker 1: shooting each other. Yeah, this is the dumbest thing I've
- 13:17Speaker 1: ever seen. When you have a person that you could
- 13:20Speaker 1: turn all this venom two, who is outwardly doing you
- 13:24Speaker 1: thank you the Hope Hicks up to the Congress and
- 13:29Speaker 1: got hunted not answer questions. Yes man, come on, yeah,
- 13:34Speaker 1: all right, Steve, we gotta move on. Coming up at
- 13:36Speaker 1: thirty two after the hour, we're gonna do your favorite
- 13:40Speaker 1: segment asked Steve. That's coming up right after this. You're
- 13:42Speaker 1: listening to show. All right, guys, time for asked Steve.
- 13:48Speaker 1: This is Steve's favorite segment. We get to ask him
- 13:50Speaker 1: questions and he gets to answer our only request. This
- 13:54Speaker 1: is another question answer short, because you waste time. I'm
- 14:00Speaker 1: with that. Why do you hate that so much? All right, Steve?
- 14:09Speaker 1: He does? All right, Steve, here we go. What's the
- 14:14Speaker 1: lames lamest excuse that you've given to get off the
- 14:18Speaker 1: phone with someone? But you got a lot of those?
- 14:22Speaker 1: Come on, Oh the lamest one of my one of
- 14:29Speaker 1: my best ones is that the swimming pool is on fire, literally,
- 14:36Speaker 1: women pool. Somebody spilt some oil and the women pools
- 14:44Speaker 1: on fire. Grease fire throws people into it, does for real?
- 14:49Speaker 1: You gotta gotta go. That's crazy, Steven. Right, lame hell?
- 15:04Speaker 1: There's a rating hill? Oh god, yeah, yeah, yeah, tell me?
- 15:11Speaker 1: Come on? How about this? How do you handle how
- 15:16Speaker 1: do you handle people who won't stop talking? Oh? I know,
- 15:22Speaker 1: despite playing a non verbal clue, I ain't got I
- 15:25Speaker 1: just walk off. I just walk off, though, well do
- 15:31Speaker 1: they notice? They're so busy talking? They don't even notice that.
- 15:36Speaker 1: I'll do it while I'm looking at him. I give
- 15:39Speaker 1: him one last blink that and then I turned and
- 15:41Speaker 1: walk off like that. I've done that a bunch of
- 15:44Speaker 1: time parties, all kinds of stuff. I walked right off. Stupid.
- 15:52Speaker 1: My kids was in my office one day, just talking
- 15:55Speaker 1: to me, asking me. Got him walked out on the
- 15:57Speaker 1: backyard lit a cigar. Fuck it all? Come on, all right,
- 16:06Speaker 1: other than a plunger, what is something that you need
- 16:08Speaker 1: to buy a long before you need to use it?
- 16:11Speaker 1: In insurance? What is it? Insurance? That's an insightful answer
- 16:18Speaker 1: right there. Really, that's one of the most important things
- 16:21Speaker 1: you can is all right? Right? Kay? Okay, you just
- 16:26Speaker 1: saw a comedian and you this has happened to you.
- 16:29Speaker 1: He or she was Hall Rubbo. Yeah, Hall. When I
- 16:36Speaker 1: say haw, come on, you don't want to crush their dreams? Yeah?
- 16:41Speaker 1: What what do you say to him or her? First
- 16:44Speaker 1: of all, do not make direct outcome like no, So,
- 16:57Speaker 1: first of all, do not make do Rick I contact Okay,
- 17:03Speaker 1: let me. They come out stage and they're all excited.
- 17:06Speaker 1: Hey Steve, what you think what you comedy? Yeah? How
- 17:11Speaker 1: was that? What? Let me ask you something? What did
- 17:15Speaker 1: you think? I thought it was great? I mean, did
- 17:18Speaker 1: you see it. Well, yeah I saw it. I saw it,
- 17:21Speaker 1: And let me explain something to you. Why do you
- 17:24Speaker 1: think it was great? Well? I was out there. I
- 17:27Speaker 1: made a connection with the people right there. Listen to
- 17:30Speaker 1: me two things. You was out there, that's all you want.
- 17:33Speaker 1: The connection you made was not the one you're looking for.
- 17:37Speaker 1: We are here for last. You didn't get none. Well,
- 17:41Speaker 1: where should I go from here? What should I do next?
- 17:44Speaker 1: Back to your job? A lot of comedians, man, you
- 17:51Speaker 1: got to pull up parting up. You need to reconsider
- 17:53Speaker 1: this man, Say what you do? I think that happened
- 17:56Speaker 1: a chance the rapper recently? Yeah, you need to do
- 17:59Speaker 1: the stage. Yeah he tried to do a comedy night
- 18:02Speaker 1: and he bombed no to say what chance do? Yeah?
- 18:07Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, yeah yeah I didn't know ye all right
- 18:15Speaker 1: too yeah all right, uh okay, Steve, this is a
- 18:19Speaker 1: personal thing. Just want to know. How are you feeling,
- 18:22Speaker 1: How are you doing? You had hernie hernia surgery about
- 18:24Speaker 1: a week ago. What's the I'm pretty good man, I'm
- 18:27Speaker 1: feeling better to get stronger day by day. Steal some irritation,
- 18:31Speaker 1: you know. I got to watch how I moved. Can't
- 18:33Speaker 1: do the real sudden. Oh but I went back to
- 18:35Speaker 1: work to family feud for the first time the other day,
- 18:39Speaker 1: and for the first time in five weeks, I worn't
- 18:42Speaker 1: standing up paying for you. Okay, healing is working out. Yes,
- 18:47Speaker 1: I'm not, but I'm fine and I will be fine. Yeah,
- 18:52Speaker 1: you're on the men. That's good. That's good. That's as
- 19:05Speaker 1: Kemia to Pi. Pick one that you want to have
- 19:14Speaker 1: in a small body. Good. Next question, All right, Carlo,
- 19:25Speaker 1: you got one? Yeah, yes see, sorry, here we go,
- 19:28Speaker 1: great greatness. Right, today is the first day of summer, Steve,
- 19:33Speaker 1: what is one of your favorite summer memories to the boat?
- 19:39Speaker 1: Every year? The boat? And what's so great about the boats?
- 19:44Speaker 1: It is, uh, the one place that I've found that
- 19:47Speaker 1: our con vacation and really totally and completely recharge my spirit,
- 19:54Speaker 1: my mind and my body. Uh. It's so relaxing. Oh
- 20:01Speaker 1: and it's just me and my wife and it's my
- 20:04Speaker 1: best friend and we talk and we and we work
- 20:08Speaker 1: through a lot of things out there, and we talk
- 20:10Speaker 1: about our kids and grandkids, and we sit around and
- 20:14Speaker 1: I date her. I date her the entire time. I
- 20:16Speaker 1: take my wife to dinner every night. That's nice. That
- 20:20Speaker 1: is nice. Yeah, I love summer. What y'all going through
- 20:24Speaker 1: a rich people. I mean they work on their marriage,
- 20:28Speaker 1: that's what he's saying. But they got a great man.
- 20:31Speaker 1: Where are they going? All right? Listen, Uh, if you
- 20:37Speaker 1: want to ask Steve a question, go to Steve Harvey FM.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Coming up next, it's the FH. You would run that
- 20:41Speaker 1: prank back? Right after this you're listening to show Coming

- 21:02Speaker 1: first the nephew is here? Would run that break back?
- 21:04Speaker 1: What you got now, Shirley, we are going to run
- 21:09Speaker 1: with comb and brush run it? Catch Hello, Hello, I'm
- 21:15Speaker 1: trying to reach list Yeah this hey listen. My name
- 21:20Speaker 1: La Sean. Uh. Did you have a uncle had passed
- 21:24Speaker 1: away named? Yeah? All right here your uncle? Right, yeah,
- 21:29Speaker 1: that's my uncle. We were at him about three and
- 21:31Speaker 1: a half months ago. Right. What reason why I was
- 21:34Speaker 1: calling was I'm the person that actually cut your uncor
- 21:38Speaker 1: hair when he passed away. Okay, so the reason why
- 21:42Speaker 1: I was calling is, uh, the situation is when I
- 21:46Speaker 1: cut his hair and I know you don't know the
- 21:48Speaker 1: history about me, but my daddy and my granddad was
- 21:52Speaker 1: bob Us. We all bob Us. Okay, get you come on, bro,
- 21:55Speaker 1: get down because the bob because you try my my
- 21:57Speaker 1: uncle man. And I'm trying to see what's going on forever, okay,
- 22:00Speaker 1: And I'm trying to call you like this. But what
- 22:02Speaker 1: I'm telling you is that my granddad and my daddy,
- 22:05Speaker 1: they dare passed down a brush and a comb. To me, Okay,
- 22:09Speaker 1: that is like a tenimental value. Okay. But for the
- 22:14Speaker 1: for the last two to three months, I ain't been
- 22:17Speaker 1: able to find the comb and the brush that I
- 22:20Speaker 1: used what I had cut here now okay. And what
- 22:23Speaker 1: I was trying to call and tell you, was it
- 22:25Speaker 1: that I can't find it? What what I'm trying to see?
- 22:28Speaker 1: What I'm gonna kid? How many kids school? So so
- 22:31Speaker 1: what can I do? You find? Comb? Brother? Father? That's
- 22:34Speaker 1: what I'm saying. When I did miss have and edged
- 22:37Speaker 1: it up at the funeral home, that's the last time
- 22:39Speaker 1: I remember having it, dude, three months so many right, right,
- 22:43Speaker 1: it's about three months ago. What I'm trying to say
- 22:46Speaker 1: is I left the comban brush and you know what,
- 22:49Speaker 1: went to the funeral home and did his have Okay,
- 22:52Speaker 1: And I talked to the funeral home and they told
- 22:55Speaker 1: me that, you know, if I'm trying to find a
- 22:57Speaker 1: comban bro I got to get permission. Is the coma brush?
- 23:01Speaker 1: What's the color of the coma brush? That both from black?
- 23:04Speaker 1: The comban black and you got all kind of combs
- 23:07Speaker 1: that black and gold man. No, no, don't see. What
- 23:10Speaker 1: I'm saying is the comban brush is black, and I
- 23:13Speaker 1: know I lost it, but I'm almost certain about where
- 23:17Speaker 1: it is. Okay, So if you're certain about where it is,
- 23:20Speaker 1: why you called? That's the reason why I'm calling you
- 23:22Speaker 1: because I'm almost certainly not left it with him. You're
- 23:26Speaker 1: listening with my dead. So I called funeral. They told
- 23:29Speaker 1: me I need to call you in order to get
- 23:30Speaker 1: permission to get it. Oh cause you call funerals, get
- 23:34Speaker 1: permission from me that you can go get the comban
- 23:37Speaker 1: brush from left the funeral. You can go down there,
- 23:41Speaker 1: say God, no, no, no, see the comban brush ain't
- 23:45Speaker 1: with the funeral. The comban brush is in there with
- 23:49Speaker 1: your uncle. The comb and brush is in the Can
- 23:56Speaker 1: you talk about I mean the other stage? You got
- 23:58Speaker 1: to say that again? What you say? What I'm trying
- 24:00Speaker 1: to say to you is that the comb and brush
- 24:03Speaker 1: is I'm trying to say, just say what I'm trying it. Man,
- 24:07Speaker 1: The comb and brush is in the casket with your uncle.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Since the lad is six feet we'll see. See. What
- 24:14Speaker 1: I'm trying to say is that the comban brother is
- 24:16Speaker 1: sentimental value to me, bro it couldn't have been too value.
- 24:20Speaker 1: But if you lost it, what now what it was
- 24:23Speaker 1: got value? You know my work? So I just really
- 24:26Speaker 1: got caught up in my work. If you talk about
- 24:29Speaker 1: teller left with my uncle that did three months ago. Man,
- 24:33Speaker 1: what color is you talking about? Brod All. I'm trying
- 24:35Speaker 1: to do what you would see if if you don't
- 24:37Speaker 1: mind approven for them to brain the body up so
- 24:41Speaker 1: I can get the comb and brush you know lost
- 24:46Speaker 1: what's see about it? For comb? But but see But
- 24:49Speaker 1: what I'm trying to explain it this sentimental value. I'm
- 24:52Speaker 1: trying to get you out of the brain the body
- 24:53Speaker 1: up so I can get my comb and brush out
- 24:55Speaker 1: of it. Because, like I say, my dad and my
- 24:58Speaker 1: granddaddy was bombed. This whole thing ain't your sentimental? Man,
- 25:01Speaker 1: you're talking about my dead uncle, man, and you're talking
- 25:03Speaker 1: about bringing him up out of the ground for comb, Man,
- 25:06Speaker 1: I just got these to start crying around you, and
- 25:09Speaker 1: I understand what y'all going through as as a family
- 25:12Speaker 1: and stuff, and how you trying to go about doing
- 25:14Speaker 1: this all. Throw it off on boy, because ain't nobody
- 25:17Speaker 1: digging up, nobody to bring back no no brush man.
- 25:20Speaker 1: Then you look. Got me tissed off now, man, because
- 25:22Speaker 1: you're calling to me talking stupid man. You talk about
- 25:24Speaker 1: put on my mom huncle man. That's man that's got
- 25:26Speaker 1: giving a look now, I ain't trying to start nocause
- 25:27Speaker 1: you talk about comb and brush man only. But I
- 25:31Speaker 1: understand all that. But this is sentimental value, man in
- 25:34Speaker 1: the middle of me. Man, just something that my people
- 25:37Speaker 1: little sentimental relief. Okay, go to my favorite uncle. Man. Okay,
- 25:40Speaker 1: you're talking about putting up this body. Man, I got pall,
- 25:43Speaker 1: But hey, man, I don't want to give because my
- 25:47Speaker 1: care and that long man. You shouldn't know how you
- 25:49Speaker 1: got pretty man. If we don't get out like this here, man,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I ain't ever seeing and argue with you to look,
- 25:54Speaker 1: I got some tea. I got something. I mean when
- 25:58Speaker 1: you staying, let me say this. I got some people
- 26:00Speaker 1: that's here with me right now. You know some of
- 26:03Speaker 1: my friends and we got some shovels so I can
- 26:05Speaker 1: actually go over and and go on and get the caller.
- 26:09Speaker 1: H and in the morning, ain't nobody gonna even know
- 26:11Speaker 1: you ain't gonna go get now with the hard board
- 26:14Speaker 1: to say what you don't get? You gonna dig a.

- 26:28Speaker 1: no problems with you, but I want my comb and
- 26:30Speaker 1: plush as you think you're talking to them. Man go wrong,
- 26:34Speaker 1: groom going wrong, great boul warm on the safe cold

- 30:57Speaker 1: transgender woman of color with a power to call her
- 31:00Speaker 1: own shots at a major content company. Her deal allows
- 31:05Speaker 1: her to serve as an executive producer and director Ryan
- 31:08Speaker 1: Murphy's forthcoming Netflix series Hollywood. Janet released a statement saying,
- 31:13Speaker 1: as someone who grew up in front of the TV screen,
- 31:15Speaker 1: whether that was watching talk shows or family sitcoms or
- 31:19Speaker 1: VHS films, I never thought that I would be embraced,
- 31:23Speaker 1: she noted, And then she said, and more than embraced,

- 31:29Speaker 1: table of my own making. So to you, Janet Mack,

- 32:12Speaker 1: There are people that work in TV and movies and
- 32:14Speaker 1: everything all their lives, all their careers and never get
- 32:17Speaker 1: any awards, Amy winners and Emmy nominated in this room,
- 32:21Speaker 1: right here in this room. Yeah, what are you? Yeah,
- 32:29Speaker 1: he got the Immies, like shaking bake. We helped. Yeah,
- 32:39Speaker 1: nothing to say about that, Steve. Yeah, they did help. Yeah. Boy,
- 32:47Speaker 1: it was fun working every day was Yeah. Steve talked
- 32:50Speaker 1: to us crazy everything. He didn't miss the day like
- 32:55Speaker 1: you don't do you know that charges him? Yeah. You
- 32:57Speaker 1: know what I liked the best and didn't like it
- 32:59Speaker 1: was the Walk the Wally, the Walk of Shane. Oh
- 33:07Speaker 1: oh well, time for headline, Steve. Let's go, ladies and gentlemen,
- 33:12Speaker 1: Miss Ann Trump asan good morning everybody out there on
- 33:16Speaker 1: this Friday. This is andreputs in news these Trump administrations
- 33:19Speaker 1: claiming that the Iranian shot down an unmanned US Navy
- 33:22Speaker 1: drone yesterday over the Straits of Hormuz. The Pentagon says
- 33:26Speaker 1: the surveillance drone was gathering information over international waters. President
- 33:30Speaker 1: Trump calls US downding a big, big mistake. However, the
- 33:33Speaker 1: Persians say they were picking up pieces of the thing
- 33:35Speaker 1: only ten miles off their coast and that it was
- 33:37Speaker 1: not as far away as the White House claims. And
- 33:40Speaker 1: now we hear from the New York Times that President
- 33:42Speaker 1: Trump approved military strikes against Iran last night in retaliation
- 33:47Speaker 1: for the shooting down of that surveillance drone, but he
- 33:49Speaker 1: reportedly changed his mind at the last minute. Trump, they say,
- 33:52Speaker 1: initially okay to attacks on a number of Iranian targets,
- 33:55Speaker 1: including radar and missile batteries, and then decided against it. Meanwhile,
- 33:59Speaker 1: the FAA has issued of emergency order banning American operators
- 34:03Speaker 1: from flying over parts of Iran Irani in controlled airspace.
- 34:07Speaker 1: That's just in from the New York Times. The FBI
- 34:10Speaker 1: reportedly looking into what may be going on in the
- 34:12Speaker 1: Dominican Republic, where several American tourists have died in a
- 34:15Speaker 1: mysterious circumstances since January. Right now, the FEDS are analyzing
- 34:19Speaker 1: alcohol samples from the Hotel Mini Bar at the Bohea
- 34:22Speaker 1: principal resort to see if there's anything out of the ordinary.
- 34:25Speaker 1: The Post reporting that the Ministry of Health down there
- 34:27Speaker 1: has collected blood samples from those who died. Meanwhile, there
- 34:30Speaker 1: has been no mention, any mention about an investigation to
- 34:34Speaker 1: how an African American couple from New York Upstate New
- 34:36Speaker 1: York lasting headed for the airport ended up dead, the
- 34:40Speaker 1: man floating face down in the water and the woman
- 34:42Speaker 1: unconscious on the side of the road, and she later died.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Nobody's mentioning that case. Well, he's back. Alabama Republican Roy
- 34:50Speaker 1: Moore says he's making a second run for the US Senate.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Last time around, you may remember the twice ousted Alabama
- 34:56Speaker 1: Chief Justice, who was married, was accused of improper sexual
- 34:59Speaker 1: misconduct for allegedly running after high school girls for sex.
- 35:02Speaker 1: He was defeated by a Democrat, Doug Jones. Republican Party
- 35:05Speaker 1: officials discouraging his candidacy. So as President Trump, but more
- 35:09Speaker 1: still very sure of himselves going against President Trump at all.
- 35:13Speaker 1: I'll support President Trump. I'll vote for President Trump whether
- 35:16Speaker 1: he votes for me or not. We'll see. Can I win? Yes,
- 35:20Speaker 1: I can win. Not only can I they know. I
- 35:23Speaker 1: can't he's talking about the local GOP big because I
- 35:25Speaker 1: guess we'll see. Seventy two Philadelphia police officers placed on
- 35:28Speaker 1: administrative duty because of the social media posts they've made.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Authority say. Many of the cops commented say that they
- 35:34Speaker 1: call for violence against Muslims and protesters, and black people
- 35:38Speaker 1: and immigrants, those accused of crimes. They say. Some posts
- 35:41Speaker 1: even celebrate a police brutality and violence against women. Seventy
- 35:45Speaker 1: two Philadelphia cops and finally, everybody, it's summer, summertime, summer time, summime.
- 35:50Speaker 1: That's right, summer today. Now back to the Steve Harvey
- 35:53Speaker 1: Mourning Show. You're listening to Steve Harvey Mourning Show. Well,
- 35:58Speaker 1: in the wake of LaVar balls. In a appriate comment
- 36:00Speaker 1: directed at ESPN's Molly cureum Rose, Molly cureum Rose, he's
- 36:05Speaker 1: been temporarily banned from all ESPN platforms. What did what
- 36:10Speaker 1: did he say? Take a listen, take a little ahead,
- 36:13Speaker 1: go ahead before I give back to him? Well, var
- 36:16Speaker 1: can I switch gears with you? Because I have a
- 36:17Speaker 1: question here anytime, let's get there. You asked for it, Steve,
- 36:25Speaker 1: That's what he said. Smithson, Oh lord, yeah, so ESPN
- 36:32Speaker 1: released a statement there will be no LaVar ball on
- 36:35Speaker 1: any ESPN platforms heading forward. Um, so that's it. Put
- 36:42Speaker 1: one time too many. Yeah, one ball has messed it
- 36:44Speaker 1: up for three balls. I'm tid to tell you that
- 36:47Speaker 1: right now. Yeah, ignorant, it's your ball. Yeah. And people,
- 36:52Speaker 1: you know, they condemned him for that remark. They were upset.
- 36:55Speaker 1: He said afterward that he wasn't trying to say anything
- 36:57Speaker 1: inappropriate to Molly. She said she thinks her husband, Jalen, though,
- 37:04Speaker 1: would like levard to apologize publicly to her. Yeah, you
- 37:09Speaker 1: think that's gonna happen, Steve Well, Jayalen is my boy.
- 37:14Speaker 1: Oh were good, And I wouldn't make the apology myself personally.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I would make it just to make sure there was
- 37:21Speaker 1: no misunderstanding, because look, even if he didn't mean it
- 37:25Speaker 1: that way, and I could understand how he could say that,
- 37:28Speaker 1: you know, because he's just talking fast. You can switch
- 37:31Speaker 1: gears with me anytime. I mean, you know, now, if
- 37:34Speaker 1: he looked at it up and down, you know how
- 37:36Speaker 1: you get that up and down? Look, then I got
- 37:39Speaker 1: I got what that could have meant. But the fact
- 37:41Speaker 1: that it was misunderstood that way, he should have say, hey, look,
- 37:45Speaker 1: I mean, I think he's saying I'm not apologizing, but
- 37:47Speaker 1: I'd apologize publicly just to stay straight with another man
- 37:50Speaker 1: and his wife because I don't want abody doing it
- 37:52Speaker 1: to mind and feeling some kind of way. I would
- 37:54Speaker 1: apologize just to even it, you know. Yeah. And they
- 37:57Speaker 1: said he said some things inappropriate in the past, women
- 38:01Speaker 1: right to women's Uh huh. So that's why ESPN took
- 38:06Speaker 1: the stand that they did, and Molly says she felt
- 38:08Speaker 1: it was inappropriate as well. And that's what it is.
- 38:14Speaker 1: That's it. That's that's that's it. In a nutshell. Yeah,
- 38:19Speaker 1: if she perceived it any kind of way, then we
- 38:22Speaker 1: have a problem part yeah, in this climate today or
- 38:26Speaker 1: outside of this climate. Even before the Me Too movement, Man,
- 38:31Speaker 1: my wife made me understand something real clear, like, you know,
- 38:33Speaker 1: we'll be discussing something and she would get her feeling
- 38:36Speaker 1: to you, that's a baby. I ain't mean that, she says, Steve.
- 38:39Speaker 1: The fact that you didn't mean nothing, didn't mean it
- 38:41Speaker 1: the way I took it hurt my feeling. And I
- 38:44Speaker 1: guess what I got to do. I got to fix this.
- 38:46Speaker 1: From my college. Yes, yeah, the fact that I don't
- 38:50Speaker 1: even see what she talking about. That ain't got nothing
- 38:52Speaker 1: to do with it. Parton the fact that I watched
- 38:54Speaker 1: her shut down. It's the part I got to not
- 38:56Speaker 1: deal with, and as her husband, I got to fix that.
- 38:59Speaker 1: That's right, all right. Coming up at thirty four after
- 39:01Speaker 1: the hour, here's a question should the US pay reparations
- 39:04Speaker 1: for slavery? Right after this, you're listening to the morning show,
- 39:11Speaker 1: there is a fiery debate and it has erupted at
- 39:15Speaker 1: the first congressional hearing in a decade to explore whether
- 39:18Speaker 1: the descendants of US slaves should be compensated. Actor Danny
- 39:23Speaker 1: Glover told the panel that reparations would cure the damages
- 39:26Speaker 1: inflicted by enslavement and forced racial exclusionary policies. Economists Julianne
- 39:32Speaker 1: Malveaux wants Congress to address structural inequalities affecting black Americans.
- 39:38Speaker 1: She said, when zip codes, when zip codes determine what
- 39:44Speaker 1: kind of schools you go to and what kind of
- 39:46Speaker 1: food you eat, these are the vestiges of enslavement that
- 39:50Speaker 1: a lot of people don't want to deal with. I mean,
- 39:53Speaker 1: they're voicing their opinions. This is what they're saying about.
- 39:55Speaker 1: Why the reasons we should get reparations. There's an author
- 39:59Speaker 1: kind of heath see Coats. He argued that compensation was
- 40:02Speaker 1: due not just for the historic injustice of slavery, but
- 40:06Speaker 1: for the discrimination and depredation official and unwritten the community
- 40:12Speaker 1: has been subjected to in the time after emancipation. So
- 40:16Speaker 1: the question is, yeah, that's beautiful. Yeah it was. So
- 40:20Speaker 1: should the US pay reparations for slavery? Yeah yeah, not
- 40:25Speaker 1: according to Mitch McConnell, but he voted for the African
- 40:31Speaker 1: American president. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah, So it's um,
- 40:39Speaker 1: it's uh see, here's the thing. In order for this
- 40:44Speaker 1: to even possibly possibly a remotely catch wheels, people of
- 40:52Speaker 1: color and people of non color who are on board
- 40:55Speaker 1: with this have to organize and get a unified, voted
- 41:02Speaker 1: upon constituency of people who deal with just the facts
- 41:08Speaker 1: and who are put in the front to argue the point. See,
- 41:13Speaker 1: what happened with Black Lives Matter is you had too
- 41:16Speaker 1: many people speaking and then right in the middle of
- 41:20Speaker 1: the Black Lives Matter you movement, one person bought up reparations. Now, look,
- 41:28Speaker 1: if we're going to do this, we're going to have
- 41:30Speaker 1: to get a solidified group of people who are going
- 41:35Speaker 1: to make a movement to put this before Congress, to
- 41:39Speaker 1: put this before the Senate, to make it an actual
- 41:42Speaker 1: bill where it has some grounds and validity with the
- 41:47Speaker 1: designated points and a plan to carry it out. That's
- 41:51Speaker 1: the only way this works. You cannot have one million
- 41:55Speaker 1: people screaming different reasons for reparations. We've got to come
- 42:00Speaker 1: together and decide who will be the unit to represent
- 42:05Speaker 1: this cause. Who are the lawyers that are going to
- 42:08Speaker 1: formulate this for us, Who's gonna take it before the
- 42:11Speaker 1: Congress in the Senate? Which congressman or senators can we
- 42:15Speaker 1: get backing from to present this in the way Because
- 42:19Speaker 1: you are talking about a huge sum of money, you're
- 42:23Speaker 1: talking about something that has to have validity to prove,
- 42:28Speaker 1: like that gentleman who said the constitutional part of it,
- 42:31Speaker 1: then you got to have the people that can prove
- 42:35Speaker 1: the barren landscape that the hoods were created. You've got
- 42:38Speaker 1: to prove that the Willie Lynch letter is really still
- 42:42Speaker 1: in effect. You've got to prove the economic disaster even
- 42:46Speaker 1: though it's out there. Everybody knows that we are because
- 42:50Speaker 1: of our zip code, we are educated differently. Everybody knows it,
- 42:53Speaker 1: but the people or in power don't give a damn
- 42:58Speaker 1: matter of fact, they help create the policy to keep
- 43:02Speaker 1: these things in place because they know if they can
- 43:05Speaker 1: control your income, they can control your actions. You're right, Steve,
- 43:10Speaker 1: That's one thing too about Elizabeth Warren. Isn't she the
- 43:13Speaker 1: one that's talking mostly about reparations in her campaign platform
- 43:18Speaker 1: for twenty twenty. But see, I'm careful about people who
- 43:21Speaker 1: are just doing it for because all they're trying to
- 43:27Speaker 1: do is get black votes. Right now, this ain't new,
- 43:30Speaker 1: So don't come because it's an election year and start
- 43:33Speaker 1: talking about reparations for black people. And you never gave
- 43:36Speaker 1: a damn bottom until you started running. But I definitely
- 43:39Speaker 1: like what you're saying about. It should be an organized
- 43:42Speaker 1: effort to get it done. It has to be the
- 43:45Speaker 1: only way. It can't be your screaming for it right right,
- 43:48Speaker 1: All right, Steve Harvey Nation, we want to hear from
- 43:50Speaker 1: you about reparations. Go to Steve Harvey FM and comment. Now.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Up next, we're going to switch gears here because the
- 43:56Speaker 1: nephews in the building with today's praying phone calls coming
- 43:59Speaker 1: up right right. You're listening Morning show coming up at
- 44:07Speaker 1: the top of the hour, right about four minutes after
- 44:10Speaker 1: the hour it's my strawberry letter for today's subject, Maybe
- 44:14Speaker 1: I should hang out with my ex two. But right now,
- 44:20Speaker 1: oh yeah, yeah, right now, the nephew is here with
- 44:23Speaker 1: today's praying phone call. What you got for us, nep
- 44:26Speaker 1: You know what, Sirlett, I think I've come up with
- 44:28Speaker 1: an incredible I'm actually just brilliant. I'm a genius. To
- 44:35Speaker 1: listen to me, you stop saying that. Stop saying that. No, no,
- 44:42Speaker 1: it incredibility and genius. She's two different things. You're not.
- 44:46Speaker 1: The man is a genius. You're my genius. Because all
- 44:49Speaker 1: you gotta do is listen to who telling you the
- 44:53Speaker 1: man is a genius? Dannis genius. Genius can't tell you here, genius, No, no,
- 45:00Speaker 1: anybody that got to tell you who they are and
- 45:01Speaker 1: what they do, it probably ain't. Okay, okay, okay. So
- 45:06Speaker 1: when you he it is, I want you to just
- 45:08Speaker 1: let me know what you think afterwards. That's right here.
- 45:11Speaker 1: I come up with this. This is a four three relationship.
- 45:16Speaker 1: Bold days with your wife and then the other three
- 45:19Speaker 1: days your wife is with me. Four and three head
- 45:22Speaker 1: is four three relationship. Come on, cat, Hello, Hello, I'm
- 45:27Speaker 1: trying to reach my reaes. Yeah, this him? Hey, my reach.
- 45:29Speaker 1: My My name is Devin Man. How are you doing this?
- 45:31Speaker 1: Even a brother? Oh man, I'm kind of sleeping man working? Nice? Bro?
- 45:35Speaker 1: What's going on? Who is this game? This is Devin Man.
- 45:38Speaker 1: I talked to your wife, Kesha the other day. That's
- 45:41Speaker 1: that's your wife, right, Yeah, that's my wife. Yeah, I
- 45:43Speaker 1: talked to you. Why she in right now? No? She
- 45:46Speaker 1: an't it work? Bro? Okay, okay, I apologize. I ain't
- 45:48Speaker 1: me to wake you up. You work at night or something? Yeah,
- 45:51Speaker 1: I'm a crane opera at night, bro, North. People don't
- 45:53Speaker 1: call me. That's three o'clock. You know what's this? What is?
- 45:57Speaker 1: What is a big collect or something? No? No, no, no, no, no,
- 45:59Speaker 1: no no no. I talked to your wife, man, she's
- 46:01Speaker 1: interested in this. Think we got man called a four
- 46:04Speaker 1: three relationship. She told me she wanted me to call
- 46:06Speaker 1: back and talked to her husband about it, and she
- 46:09Speaker 1: gave me the number to hit you up at the house,
- 46:10Speaker 1: man and let you know all about the four to
- 46:12Speaker 1: three relationship because she's really interested in it. For three relationship.
- 46:18Speaker 1: You say you talked to my wife about it? Yeah,
- 46:20Speaker 1: I talked to Keisha a couple of days ago. She
- 46:21Speaker 1: gave me the number, she said, called him back. He'll
- 46:23Speaker 1: be at home at this time. You can hit him
- 46:25Speaker 1: up and see if he likes she said. But she
- 46:27Speaker 1: definitely likes it, man, And she wanted to see if
- 46:29Speaker 1: you would be interested in the four three relationship too.
- 46:31Speaker 1: You know, I want to get your approval on it
- 46:33Speaker 1: before we went in it further. But your wife was
- 46:36Speaker 1: very excited about it, man. She was wanted to get
- 46:39Speaker 1: started as soon as possible. And I wanted to see
- 46:41Speaker 1: about contacting you and making sure that you agreed and
- 46:44Speaker 1: approved on everything. But she definitely wanted to get your
- 46:47Speaker 1: blessing and get your approval on it. Yeah. I'll try
- 46:50Speaker 1: to do anything to make her happy, though, but I
- 46:52Speaker 1: got to get some moment some information about this. What
- 46:55Speaker 1: is said again for three? No, No, it's a four
- 46:59Speaker 1: three four three relationship, is what it is. I'm willing
- 47:04Speaker 1: to listen. Okay, well listen, man. We're probably gonna get
- 47:06Speaker 1: started right away, probably Monday. We'll get started on Monday. Uh,
- 47:10Speaker 1: you'll go through Monday through Thursday and then uh, and
- 47:13Speaker 1: then I'll pick up you know, Friday through Sunday, man,
- 47:15Speaker 1: and we'll go ahead and get this thing start. I
- 47:17Speaker 1: think after a month. You're pretty much catch on everything.
- 47:20Speaker 1: You know, there's something gonna be shipped to the house.
- 47:23Speaker 1: Uh pick up. She hadn't have mentioned any of this
- 47:28Speaker 1: to you, nothing's to me, okay, all right? Well what
- 47:32Speaker 1: this is man? A four three relationship, Maurice? Is this?
- 47:36Speaker 1: You know, you spend four days with Keisha and she
- 47:40Speaker 1: comes over to my place and she spend the other
- 47:42Speaker 1: three days with me. That's what a four to three relationship.
- 47:45Speaker 1: So see this kind of frees you up man on
- 47:48Speaker 1: anything you might want to do on those other three days. Man,
- 47:51Speaker 1: where she might be tying you down. You know, so
- 47:53Speaker 1: four them days, you know you would her, but the
- 47:55Speaker 1: other three days you kind of have some free time
- 47:58Speaker 1: to yourself. But she'll be over with my so on
- 48:00Speaker 1: the other three days. That's what that's what Basically a
- 48:02Speaker 1: four three relationship is part of me? So I say what? Noow,
- 48:06Speaker 1: I say part of me? You say, she will spend
- 48:08Speaker 1: four days with me, three days with you. That's that's it, sir,
- 48:13Speaker 1: That's the four three relationship right there. Maurice. You know
- 48:15Speaker 1: you're you're really gonna like this man, Like I say,

- 53:46Speaker 1: Uh huh, Jay, you want to tell them the phone call?
- 53:51Speaker 1: Or do I have to tell them the phone call
- 53:53Speaker 1: I got before I went into surgery? What's phone call?
- 53:57Speaker 1: I tried to find a call say all this, but
- 54:00Speaker 1: I couldn't go ahead and tell him. I just he
- 54:02Speaker 1: gonna called me before I go into surgery. I'm thinking
- 54:05Speaker 1: something wrong with my dude. He called me and say, man,
- 54:08Speaker 1: you are you going your way to surgery? Yeah? Go
- 54:10Speaker 1: in this morning, man, show hope your punkert ass don't die.
- 54:18Speaker 1: That's how lou do it. That's one time dog. Hey, man,
- 54:24Speaker 1: you're about to go into surgeon. Yeah, man, I'm thinking,
- 54:27Speaker 1: you know, you know Jay got leukemia. You know something wrong?
- 54:30Speaker 1: So I called my dude right back. He said, you're
- 54:33Speaker 1: about to go into surgery. I said yeah. He said,
- 54:35Speaker 1: show hope your punkert ass don't die. Now that's the
- 54:39Speaker 1: love right there, so long, and that's how we talked
- 54:43Speaker 1: to one another. Yeah, man, I said, well, I'm gonna
- 54:46Speaker 1: try not to man, praying for you that after Yeah. No,
- 54:56Speaker 1: here's the sad part when he called me when he
- 54:58Speaker 1: got out of the sad. Yeah, I said, ja man,
- 55:03Speaker 1: I said, Jay, I'm good. No, he didn't know it, Steve. Yeah,
- 55:08Speaker 1: that's how we've been doing each other. So people in here,
- 55:11Speaker 1: it's all it's calling in time. Why are you so
- 55:13Speaker 1: hard on him talking about that's that keemo talking and
- 55:15Speaker 1: all that, all that, but you guys make each other

- 55:23Speaker 1: yea baby, baby Listen, you can't get mad at Jay
- 55:28Speaker 1: about this? Why would he? Because that's how we do
- 55:32Speaker 1: each other. I say it, don't wear about it. You know,
- 55:35Speaker 1: I'm trying to be going a long Why would you
- 55:39Speaker 1: say that you're free and is sick? You should be
- 55:41Speaker 1: praying for him, I am. But they ain't got nothing
- 55:43Speaker 1: to do with it. You guys go hard. But that's
- 55:47Speaker 1: that's the love between. That's it's love love. Yeah, all right,
- 55:51Speaker 1: we could be reading your letter live on the air,
- 55:54Speaker 1: just like we're gonna read this one today right now.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Let's go, Nephew buck alcohold on tight, we got it
- 55:59Speaker 1: for you. It is the Straw Mary Letter. Okay subject,
- 56:06Speaker 1: Maybe I should hang out with my ex too, Dear
- 56:09Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley, I married my wife and I have a
- 56:11Speaker 1: five year old daughter. I'm married and my wife and
- 56:13Speaker 1: I have a five year old daughter. My wife's relationship
- 56:16Speaker 1: with her ex boyfriend is not normal, and I seem
- 56:20Speaker 1: to be the only one that has a problem with it.
- 56:23Speaker 1: Over the weekend, my wife took our child to a
- 56:25Speaker 1: birthday party at her ex boyfriend's home. Her ex boyfriend
- 56:29Speaker 1: and his wife invited my wife and my daughter and
- 56:32Speaker 1: they went. This bothered me because I've spoken with my
- 56:35Speaker 1: wife a few times about her close relationship with her ex.
- 56:38Speaker 1: She doesn't see it as a problem because the guy
- 56:41Speaker 1: is married and has his own family. It doesn't help
- 56:44Speaker 1: that the ex is the cousin of her best friend,
- 56:47Speaker 1: so they are always hanging out together. I'm not insecure,
- 56:50Speaker 1: and I don't believe she's attracted to him, but I
- 56:53Speaker 1: never trust the man in this situation. I don't know
- 56:56Speaker 1: why she has to talk to him at all. I
- 56:58Speaker 1: could see if they shared a child together or they
- 57:01Speaker 1: had business ties, but they don't. I find it to
- 57:04Speaker 1: be very disrespectful, and ladies, you know, if the shoe
- 57:08Speaker 1: was on the other foot, you would lose your mind.
- 57:13Speaker 1: We've been married for five years and this is the
- 57:15Speaker 1: only problem we've had so far. Whenever I bring it up,
- 57:19Speaker 1: it creates a lot of tension and she tells me
- 57:21Speaker 1: that I'm overreacting and I need to learn to deal
- 57:24Speaker 1: with it. She would not be able to deal with
- 57:26Speaker 1: it if I went a happy hour with my X
- 57:28Speaker 1: a few times a month, with my X a few
- 57:31Speaker 1: times a month. So how should I handle this? I
- 57:33Speaker 1: want to speak with the man, but I really don't
- 57:36Speaker 1: want to look insecure or soft. Am I putting too
- 57:39Speaker 1: much weight on this? I say absolutely not, because how
- 57:44Speaker 1: you feel about the situation is how you feel about
- 57:47Speaker 1: a situation, and they're valid. And this is a problem
- 57:51Speaker 1: because you're right. If the shoe was on the other foot,
- 57:54Speaker 1: meaning ladies, if he kept a close relationship with his ex,
- 57:59Speaker 1: this would be a disaster, it would You're absolutely right
- 58:02Speaker 1: about that. I think your wife should consider your feelings
- 58:07Speaker 1: in this situation. I think you know, when you're this
- 58:10Speaker 1: close it can bring problems. You could you know, you
- 58:14Speaker 1: never know what can happen when you're this close in
- 58:16Speaker 1: a relationship, and if it bothers you, Why isn't your
- 58:20Speaker 1: marriage more important than her relationship with this X. I
- 58:24Speaker 1: don't get it. I think you're right. You know, if
- 58:27Speaker 1: you start, and you know how men are. You said it.
- 58:30Speaker 1: You don't trust the man in this relationship, so you
- 58:32Speaker 1: do trust your wife. So you know, I don't suggest
- 58:37Speaker 1: necessarily that you go out with your X because that
- 58:39Speaker 1: can create a whole another set of problems in your marriage.
- 58:43Speaker 1: I just think you should just try and deal with
- 58:45Speaker 1: your wife, really, let her know what it looks like,
- 58:48Speaker 1: how you feel, what's what's going to happen, how what
- 58:52Speaker 1: could happen, and then deal with it that way and
- 58:54Speaker 1: maybe she'll come around. Steve, No, it's easy for me
- 58:57Speaker 1: right here. Pardon the first of all, let's just get
- 59:00Speaker 1: this out the way. Your wife's relationship with her ex boyfriend,
- 59:07Speaker 1: it's not normal. You said that, and you seem to
- 59:10Speaker 1: be the only problem with it. And over the weekend,
- 59:12Speaker 1: your wife took your child to a birthday party at
- 59:16Speaker 1: her ex boyfriend's home. Now her ex boyfriend and his
- 59:21Speaker 1: current wife invited my wife and my daughter, and they went,
- 59:25Speaker 1: they ain't invite you, they can't invite you. They invited
- 59:29Speaker 1: her and the baby, and then she went. This bothered
- 59:33Speaker 1: me because I spoke to my wife a few times
- 59:36Speaker 1: by her closeness with her ex. She don't see it
- 59:39Speaker 1: as a problem because this guy married, got his own family.
- 59:44Speaker 1: What is she still dealing with him for this? Your
- 59:46Speaker 1: ex boyfriend? Y'all, ain't got no child together. Ain't like
- 59:49Speaker 1: it was day child? This your child? Why is she
- 59:54Speaker 1: all up in this dude's face on any damn level?
- 59:58Speaker 1: And they always hang out together? What all right, Steve,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: hold that, hold that all that you have right there,
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: Hold all of that. We're gonna get into part two. Yeah,
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: all the bigger, get into a part two of your response.
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: Coming up at twenty three after the hour. Subject of
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: today's Strawberry letter, Maybe I should hang out with my
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: ex two? You're listening, all right? Come on, Steve, Let's
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: recap today's Strawberry letter. Subject maybe I should hang out
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: with my ex two. I don't understand this letter. I
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: really really don't from the hunt because, yeah, this don't
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: even have to be a problem. This man has a
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: wife and a baby with this five year old daughter
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: with this woman sher relationship with her ex boyfriend him
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: is a problem. They're married now, her and her ex
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: boyfriend still have relationship, and over the weekend, his wife
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: took their child to a birthday party at the ex
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: boyfriend's house. Her ex boyfriend is now married, and they
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: invited my wife and my daughter and they went, they invite,
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: ain't you partner? See I'm worried about this part right here.
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: Why ain't get the invitation? You won't everybody married? Well
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: this bothered me because he spoken to his wife a
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: few times. By the closeness to her ex. She don't
- 1:01:11Speaker 1: see it as a problem because the guy's married and
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: got his own family. Well what you over that photo?
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: Why you still got to have a relationship with him?
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: I know y'all slept together. It don't ever leave a
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: dude's mind. She doesn't see it as a problem because
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: he's mad, So they're always hanging out together too. Now,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I'm not insecure, and I don't believe she's attracted hill Man, stop,
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: man stop. You are insecure. That's what this whole damn
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: letter is about. You are insecure. Ain't nothing wrong with
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: that partner, But you can put a stop to this, hiroo.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: And I don't believe she's attracted to him. She was, okay,
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: she was, and he was acted to her. Now, if
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: he was attracted to her, I can tell you right
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: now he still is because he or man and you
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: refer to that end the letter, you say, and I
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: don't believe she's attracted him. But I never trust a
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: man in this situation because you know getting here, well,
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: once we was attracted to you, where that goal? What
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: you do with that? Because you got married. Man told me,
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: when you get married, the only difference of the next
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: day after you get married as appearance of your left hand.
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: Third day, everything you liked before you got married, you're
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: gonna like the same damn thing the day after you married.
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: So now he liked her once he liked her. Now
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: you can't tell me she don't walk in there and
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: this dude they send it. Man, I slept with oover there. Oh,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: you can't tell me that. That's a crazy situation. And
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: she said, I don't know why she talked to him
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: at all because you let her. I could see if
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: they shared a child together or they had business ties,
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: but they don't. I find it very disrespectful. And here's
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: the kicker, and ladies, you know if the shoe was
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: on the other foot that you would lose your rabbit. Mind.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: You already know that married for five years and this
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: is the only problem we've had now whenever I bring
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: it up and create a lot of tension. And she
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: tells me, I'm overreacting and I need to learn how
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: to deal with it. iFIT to learn how to deal
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: with a damn thing. I promise your sister, I'm not
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: fitting to learn how to deal with a damn thing.
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Who you're talking to? I gotta I got. I'm overreacting
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: and and the screening tension in our marriage because you
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: keep bringing your ex into our home a man prob
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: Let me explain something new. If you went to your
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: happy hour with your ex wife a few times a month,
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: she'd have a hearted yes. So how should I handle this?
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: I want to speak to the man. First of all,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: don't say nothing to that man. Your man didn't take
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: the vials. Your wife did to leave all others and
- 1:03:56Speaker 1: cleave only unto you. But she want to hang on.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Look you know what I'll tell you. My wife dog,
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: she was playing something like this from me. Take your
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: hands down there one more time, and when you come home,
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: see if he'll make all these payments up in here
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: happy out there? You know you know what. Let's let's
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: let's see if he's gonna pay for all the day
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: on vacation. Call him close down there, and in receipts
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: and stuff. See if he went in the chippy end
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: on this right here. Take all these bills down there
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: and see what's one of these he gonna pay, because
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: he gonna have to pay all of them. Because I'm through.
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: You're not gonna disrespect me with your ex and expect
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: me to sit here and take it because you want
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: me to be all right with it, whether hell, I
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: ain't sitting up in here talking to me like I'm crazy.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: I got to learn how to deal with I'm not
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: dealing with a damn thing. I'm not dealing with your
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: ex in my life. I'm not dealing with my wife's
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: sitting up in happy I with no the man. You
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: want to go to happy hour with him, call your
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: hands down there, but you will not do it as
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: my wife, no more than I can go do it
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: as your husband. Man. I can't go in here and
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: tell it's crazy woman, I'm married. Tough to go to
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: happy hour a few times a month with some EXI guy,
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: what what you got to be kidding? Me? And for
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: all y'all out there, I'm a woman ought to be
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: able to have friends. You can have all the friends
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: you won't you just can't have all them friends and
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: a husband. See, you're gonna get all the damn budd
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: as you want. A matter of fact, you ain't gotta
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: miss no more happy hour. They ain't got miss nade.
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: A matter of fact, you up it jealous. A few
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: times a month, you can call your ass down that day,
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: the happy hour, every day, happy the whole damn hour.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: I don't know what you're gonna do about the mother

- 1:07:02Speaker 1: be at home or any yard. I'm not that's just me.
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I know people. I know they're emotional dogs. I can
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: let these dogs survous dogs. But first of all, you
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: work in a place it ends up being too many
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: damn dogs. That's what happened one dog. But then it's
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: like dogs every damn well. You know that, that's what happened.

- 1:07:46Speaker 1: on to you like you leave, I'm gonna go to

- 1:09:02Speaker 1: On any level? Though? You crack it up over there,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: you're through, I'm a brain fancy. Yeah, if you could
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: you have a dog jay and walk the dog, you know,
- 1:09:21Speaker 1: and seed it and all of that, you wouldn't do that.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: You didn't have to take it to work, but just
- 1:09:26Speaker 1: take care of it. Dogs are part of the family Jay,
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: not this family. All right, I guess we know where
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: Jay stands on dogs. Coming up at the top of
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: the hour, we're gonna talk about the first day of summer.

- 1:10:02Speaker 1: longest day, the longest day. It's the longest day. Food.
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: It's just the longest day. What you mean, longest day? Yeah?
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: Just what is safe daylight? He is a genius. It
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: ain't twenty four hour days. It's twenty five hours. It's
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: the longest daylight day day boy, day from sunrise to
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: sunt said, dash your day. It ain't talking about your night.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: You know what I'm in an hour, sees him. It
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: could be twenty five hours. How about that, it's twenty
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: six right there. Hey, stupid, Hey, hey, listen to the
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: dumb and dumber. Listen to me. Yeah, yeah, listen to me,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: both of y'all. I'm tired of both of y'all. Listen
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: to me. This does not require discussion. No other radio
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: stations having this comes. Ain't nobody just saying the debate?
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: Why ain't you damn bist because you ain't got nothing
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: to do with it. It's just what it is. It's longest.
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: Damn it's thirty seven hours that how about that? Damn it? Okay, cool,
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: Listen to me. Listen to me. Listen to me. It
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: doesn't matter. I don't know why listen to me. Listen
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: to me. It doesn't matter what the tour You say,
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: to day is the longest day. How do you know that?
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: Because because that's what they said, you ain't all you
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: can do. All you gotta do is to mention to day.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: If you look at today with the time sunrise came
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: up and when it's gonna set due to the time
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: of the clock, it'll tell you right now that today,
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: according to the axis that the Earth spins on the
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: rotates around the Sun, that today is the longest day
- 1:11:51Speaker 1: that scientifically proven. And your stupid ass is not a
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: scientific You don't even really know. You don't even really
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: know if it's if it goes around the sun. You're
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: just taking that nobody nobody has measured the whole day.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: I tell you, I'll tell you what. Hey, let me
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: tell you, my son, you can't measure time foods, So
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: let's stop talking about it because it's not innate objects.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: It's not innate objects. Secondly, if this earth ain't rotating around,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: that sun's getting your ass is gonna dad, that's where
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: we are with this are if we ain't sitting on
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: this because y'all too stupid, ass, I know, I just
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: need to know what the extra part of day? What
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: do we do with that? Because now, don't take your
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: extra day down there to chemo. That's what we're gonna get,
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: the whole extra couple of hours of day. And I
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: need to know because I wasn't prepared for, right, what
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: do we do with these day? It's the day that
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: the Lord has made. Let us joice, rejoice, just rejoice
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: and be glad in it. This is the reason I
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: don't like talking to foods, just the reason, right. No,
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: the problem is you don't know what you do with
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: this extra day. I'm not having a problem with the
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: extra day I'm enjoying. So is the radio show longer? Yo? Yo?
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: Let me sh up doing it and starting to feel
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: like it's to you right now? Yes is to me? Yes?
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: Because we're talking to these two foods, way too long.
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: Team Tommy is exhausting us draining. This is but we
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: can talk about this another day. About at the end
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: of the day, guys, Oh my goodness. All right, listen,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: coming out more music, more ignorance of the stupid show.
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: At twenty minutes after the hour, right after this, what's
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: the longest day? You're listening to Steve Morning Show? All right, so, junior,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: you have some sports news for us up. The NBA
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: is over. Oh yeah, but guess what we still got

- 1:15:09Speaker 1: Oh hard here this ain't this? Ain't that soft basketball?
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Then it really is a great league. It really, it's
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: really really good basketball to watch. Three on three is
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: really really it's Cats out tim Atlanta. They're gonna be
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: in Brooklyn this season. Man, you have to really respect
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: the NBA league because have you ever stood next to
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: NBA players? Yeah, yeah, really really exceptionally tall and if
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: you think you for the Jets go score like you
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: wan't too. It's probably not gonna happen. Now. Kobe don't
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: look the same on TV as he do in person.
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: Kobe looks he's he's a timid day. Even the ones
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: you think short, yeah, like once you see him like, whoa, yeah,
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: there's very well time you probably need to conversation. We
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: don't have to, just al right. Coming up more of
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show at thirty three after the hour.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: Right after this, you're listening to the Steve Morning Show.
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: All right, guys, time for ask Steve. This is Steve's
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: favorite segment. We get to ask him questions and he
- 1:16:33Speaker 1: gets to answer our only request. This is another question.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Answer short, because you waste time with dad? Why do
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: you hate that so much? All right? Steve does? He does?
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: All right, Steve, here we go. What's the lame, lamest
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: excuse that you've given to get off the phone with someone?
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: But you A lot of those come on? Oh the lames.
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: One of my one of my best ones is that
- 1:17:12Speaker 1: the swimming pool is on fire, literally women pool. Somebody
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: spilt some oil and the women pool is on fire.
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: Grease fire that throws people into something it does for real,
- 1:17:31Speaker 1: You gotta gotta go. That's crazy, Steve lame hell there's
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: a rat in here. Oh god, yeah, yeah yeah. Tell me,
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: Come on, how about this? How do you have the
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: people who won't stop talking? You know, despite plenty of
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: non verbal clue, I ain't gonna pro I just walk off.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: I just walk off to them. Well do they notice?
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: They're so busy talking they don't even notice. I'll do it.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: While I'm looking at him, I give him one last
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: blink like that, and then I turned and walk off.
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: I've done that a bunch of time parties, all kinds
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: of stuff. I walked right off. Here's stupid. My kids
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: was in my office one day just talking to me,
- 1:18:30Speaker 1: asking me because I just got him walked out on
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: in the backyard a little cig off, fuck it off?
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Come on, all right? Other than a plunger, what is
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: something that you need to buy a long before you
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: need to use it? Yce, that's an insightful answer, right there. Really,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: that's one of the most important things you can all right,
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: all right, coming up our last break of the day
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: of the week, and some closing remarks from the one
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: in them Lea Steve Harvey right after this at forty
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: nine after the hour you're listening to Steven Show. All right, Steve,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: here we are, last break of the day. It's been
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: a good Friday, a fun Friday, the longest day of
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: the year, first day of summer. Enjoy your summer if
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: we ever get one. Right. Hey, Um, Steve, Yeah, I
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: got a text from our affiliate whu R in DC
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: saying that, Yeah, saying for me to let you know
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: that DC News was all a buzz about your closing
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: remarks when you talked about Juneteenth and reparations and all that.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: They said. They included in soundbites in their news and
- 1:19:44Speaker 1: local TV just you know, wanted to let you know that.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: Let's let's play the closing remark, you know, Um, the
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: Mitch McConnell remark about how he don't see how African
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: Americans should receive any reparation rations, and the reasons he
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: gave were because none of us that are living today
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: was responsible for that back then. That's an interesting statement
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: to make. You know. They have very selective memory when
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: it comes to doing what's right, and they will they
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: will remember what they want to remember to stay right.
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: First of all, he said we've done everything to erase
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: or write our original sin of slavery, he said, we
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: So what he used was, first of all, the Civil War.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: I'm not a historian, but I was always taught that
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: the reason we had the Civil War was because the
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: group of Southern states decided that they want to keep slavery,
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: and they didn't care the fact that Abraham Lincoln was
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: up there talking my friend them. They weren't having it.
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: They weren't going with this conversation. So we're gonna have
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: civil war. They don't care about nobody up there talking
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: about No, we gonna let them go. The next thing
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: he said that they did was to help with slavery
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: was civil rights. Civil rights were not given to us.
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: Civil rights was marched for, boycotted, four walked for, set
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: in for, rand for died for. What I remember of
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: civil rights trying to get them was watching bull Connor
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: sickt them German shepherds on all them innocent people and
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: holds them down with fire hoses. That's what I remember
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: a lot about civil rights, how we had to fight
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: to be considered equal by so many who didn't want
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: us to be. Then his last example of making a
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: right for slavery was to read, we elected an African
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: American president. Well we didn't. A lot of people did,
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: but it wasn't you, Mitch McConnell. So stop saying we
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: like you've been on board with civil rights in the
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: Civil War, on the right side of right for us
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: whole time, because you really, I really don't think you have.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: I don't think you understand. And then he said that
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: he doesn't see how those of us who were not
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: here back then, those couple hundred years ago shit even
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: can be held responsible for that. And he doesn't see
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: how we would even know where to start giving out
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: the money to who. Well, let me help you understand something.
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: You say that you don't want to be responsible for
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: something that happened I think he said a hundred and
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: fifty years ago. And he said he didn't want to
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: be responsible for that because we weren't there then. Well,
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: you weren't there when they wrote this constitution that you
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: love to throw up in everybody's face. You weren't there
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: then and old, but I have some vivid remembers the
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: memories of that too. Remember when women weren't avowed allowed
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: to vote. You know, there was your fault fathers had
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: to put that into constitution. Do you remember when your forefathers,
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: Mitch McConnell put in the constitution that African Americans were
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: three fifths of a human being? Remember when that was
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: put in there. I had to change that, didn't you? Oh?
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: I forgot. But that whole time you was fighting to
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: make amends for slavery yet instill everything I knew, and
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: they power that they was doing was trying to reinvent
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: slavery to make it come in another form. Or you
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: successfully did that. You made ghettos, and you made ghettos
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: become farm systems for prisons, and you found a way
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: to incarcerate us, which was to enslave us. And then
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: you created unjust laws that incarcerated people of color and
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: women of color at a higher rate than people of
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: non color. You selected certain poor crimes like rock crack cocaine,
- 1:24:05Speaker 1: and you made it more time than you could if
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: you bought the more expensive drug, which was white powder.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: So you got less time for having white powder than
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: you did for having the poor drug. But you needed
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: to pour drug into the communities because you needed to
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: farm system to flourish the prison systems. Oh excuse me,
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: this is the same country that's trying to make right
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: for slavery. Now, there are a lot of great non
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: African American people who have done some amazing things against
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: the fight for slavery. Because we didn't end slavery all
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: by ourselves. We didn't. Slavery didn't end simply because black
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: people got tired of being slaves, were tired. Today we
- 1:24:47Speaker 1: got off the boat. I can assure you that was
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: the case. So what has happened over a course of
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: time is there have been some lot of great non
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: blacks who have aided in the assistant Quakers and freedom
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: houses along the way in the underground railroad, and safe
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: houses and places they could stop and rest and get
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: water and be hidden from I got that. But we
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: ain't talking about them people. We're talking about the elected
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: officials that keep passing the votings rights law that y'all
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: keep have to vote and find out if we should
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: be allowed to vote again or not. That's that's that's
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: the America. I know. I won't be sitting around me
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: personally waiting on your reparations because I don't think you're
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: gonna allow that to happen. Because quietly speaking, I think
- 1:25:32Speaker 1: Mitch McConnell said what a lot of people really feel,
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: and that's why. Ain't nobody got mad at him yet?
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: Accept us. That's it for today. My clothing remark drop it.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: Y'all have a great weekend, then let's go do that
