- 2:03Speaker 1: Good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, come on
- 2:06Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:09Speaker 1: radio show. Well, I gotta tell you something, everybody, and
- 2:15Speaker 1: this is great news for everybody that or share something
- 2:20Speaker 1: with your principle of becoming successful at whatever level you choose.
- 2:28Speaker 1: It can be successful in the relationship, successful in the family.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Successes may be considered to you becoming a homeowner. It
- 2:37Speaker 1: could be being dead free. Your ideal success could be
- 2:43Speaker 1: sixty thousand a year, fifty thousand a year, one hundred
- 2:46Speaker 1: thousand dollars a year. Doesn't matter if you're considering it,
- 2:52Speaker 1: if you're wanting it, if you have a desire to
- 2:54Speaker 1: become successful. I want to share with you the very
- 2:58Speaker 1: beginning of that. If no one's ever done it, I'm
- 3:02Speaker 1: going to say the beginning of it today. See Scripture
- 3:08Speaker 1: makes it very clear for us you don't The only
- 3:13Speaker 1: thing you need to become successful is already inside of you.
- 3:17Speaker 1: It's not an external need. God wouldn't do that to you.
- 3:23Speaker 1: He puts the core basis of everything you need inside
- 3:28Speaker 1: of you. So if you discover it, if you tend
- 3:32Speaker 1: to it, nurture it, fertilize it, and water it, it grows,
- 3:38Speaker 1: it branches out. Then it reaches out externally and it
- 3:42Speaker 1: starts grabbing things outside of there to make it even bigger, stronger, better,
- 3:46Speaker 1: lasts longer. But in the very beginning, you don't need anything.
- 3:51Speaker 1: It's all within you. And if you cultivate your relationship
- 3:56Speaker 1: with God, it comes out, it flourishes. Now, let me
- 4:01Speaker 1: tell you that thing that I'm talking about is a
- 4:04Speaker 1: God given gift that He has given to all of us.
- 4:07Speaker 1: We all possess it. It is all within us that
- 4:12Speaker 1: everybody has a guilt. Had somebody told me what I
- 4:16Speaker 1: know now back then, I would have saved myself tons
- 4:19Speaker 1: of mistakes. I just didn't know the principles. I had
- 4:21Speaker 1: to learn them all well. One of the principles of
- 4:24Speaker 1: becoming successful is your mind set. You got to get
- 4:29Speaker 1: your mind right now. This mindset is simply a decision
- 4:35Speaker 1: that you can make. I can't get it for you.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I can tell you what to do, but you got
- 4:41Speaker 1: to make the decision. You just listening have to decide.
- 4:45Speaker 1: You know what, I'm gonna go on and get at it.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I'm gonna stop renting. I'm gonna become a homeowner. You
- 4:49Speaker 1: know what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna stop living check
- 4:51Speaker 1: to check. I'm I'm gonna put a budget together. I'm
- 4:56Speaker 1: gonna stop stepping out on my family. I'm gonna go home.
- 5:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna get it together. I'm gonna stop using you
- 5:05Speaker 1: when you make these decisions. That's correcting your mindset. Now.
- 5:09Speaker 1: The closer connection you have with God, the more help
- 5:12Speaker 1: you get sustaining the mindset. How many times have you
- 5:15Speaker 1: started to do something and you stopped? How many resolutions
- 5:19Speaker 1: have you made at the New Year and stop by February?
- 5:23Speaker 1: Over by me at January? Done in March. Because if
- 5:29Speaker 1: you don't have a clear connection with your creator to
- 5:32Speaker 1: help you carry out the other force out there, that
- 5:35Speaker 1: evil force is designed to get you not to reach
- 5:39Speaker 1: your goals, get you not to come to resolution with
- 5:42Speaker 1: whatever the resolutions are you made, so he can so
- 5:45Speaker 1: you can consider yourself not worthy or failure or unable
- 5:50Speaker 1: to do something. But the more things you are able
- 5:52Speaker 1: to accomplish, the greater your confidence goals grows. So we
- 5:56Speaker 1: got to get your mind set together. Your mindset is
- 5:59Speaker 1: a decision that you have to make. When you make
- 6:01Speaker 1: the decision, you can begin the process. Your mindset is
- 6:05Speaker 1: also a will of yours, a will along with the decision,
- 6:10Speaker 1: a will, a willingness to do right, a willingness to change,
- 6:16Speaker 1: a willingness to be better. It's going to then cause
- 6:22Speaker 1: you to have to make a decision to make a
- 6:25Speaker 1: change of direction. Don't go where everybody else going. You
- 6:28Speaker 1: got to go your way. Now. You can't follow the crowd.
- 6:32Speaker 1: You got to take a less travel path. You cannot
- 6:36Speaker 1: do this without changing your direction. You can't keep hanging
- 6:40Speaker 1: with the people you've been hanging with if you want
- 6:41Speaker 1: to be different because they're not. Then you have to
- 6:45Speaker 1: develop an obligation to yourself. You've got to say, you
- 6:50Speaker 1: know what for me and my family, or if you
- 6:53Speaker 1: don't have a family, for me, I owe it to myself.
- 6:57Speaker 1: I have an obligation to myself to be the best
- 7:00Speaker 1: to me that I can possibly be, to be the
- 7:03Speaker 1: best self that I can possibly be, to be the
- 7:07Speaker 1: best father, the best man, the best husband, the best wife,
- 7:11Speaker 1: the best mother, the best daughter, the best son, the
- 7:15Speaker 1: best student, the best employ ye, the best owner. You
- 7:19Speaker 1: have an obligation to yourself to give yourself a shot
- 7:24Speaker 1: at the best life you can. That's an obligation. You
- 7:28Speaker 1: owe that to yourself. Why would you not live the
- 7:30Speaker 1: best life that you possibly could. You have an obligation
- 7:34Speaker 1: to yourself. Why would you teat yourself like that? Why
- 7:38Speaker 1: would you take yourself and never allow yourself to see
- 7:41Speaker 1: the goodness that's already in you, to have the abundance
- 7:46Speaker 1: that's been promised to you, to go and explore all
- 7:51Speaker 1: the riches out there that's available to you. And but
- 7:57Speaker 1: one of the worst ways that you can rob yourself
- 8:00Speaker 1: of the joy of your obligation is to keep comparing
- 8:03Speaker 1: yourself to somebody else. Because guess what, Man, that ain't
- 8:06Speaker 1: your life. You ain't jay z and Beyonce, You're You're
- 8:11Speaker 1: not open instead, man, that's not who you are. Quit
- 8:16Speaker 1: looking around at everybody else that comparison of everybody else
- 8:20Speaker 1: to keep you broken. It'll keep you unhappy. You won't
- 8:23Speaker 1: even be able to be grateful for what you have
- 8:25Speaker 1: because you steady talking about what you don't have. That's
- 8:28Speaker 1: not the way, man. You have an obligation to yourself
- 8:32Speaker 1: to be the best you You can be, not the
- 8:34Speaker 1: best them. You're not them. Stop trying to be them.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Be the best you. It's cool. You got a nice
- 8:41Speaker 1: little house. That's cool. You know how many big houses
- 8:44Speaker 1: is empty and feel with hate and resentment. I'd rather
- 8:49Speaker 1: have a smaller house feel with joy in it than
- 8:52Speaker 1: to go to a big man. Prince got a line
- 8:55Speaker 1: in a song that says, I realized, in its best disguise,
- 9:00Speaker 1: a pretty house don't make her home. Man. Don't you
- 9:05Speaker 1: know I know how true that is? So I'm just
- 9:08Speaker 1: trying to tell you now. Another part of the mindset
- 9:14Speaker 1: is taking dead aim at your life's goals and ambitious
- 9:19Speaker 1: What are they? What are your goals and your visions?
- 9:22Speaker 1: What do you see for yourself? What do you dream about?
- 9:26Speaker 1: If you knew you couldn't fail at whatever it is
- 9:28Speaker 1: you were attempting, what would you go attempting? See? That's
- 9:31Speaker 1: what we need to be after. We need to get that.
- 9:35Speaker 1: If you're sitting there thinking about it, man, it's got
- 9:38Speaker 1: to be mold to this. It is. It is that
- 9:42Speaker 1: the God in you crying out. That's the seed that
- 9:44Speaker 1: was planning in you. That's the gift that's in there
- 9:46Speaker 1: that's been locked away for years. It ain't too late
- 9:49Speaker 1: to open that door. Man, When is it too late
- 9:51Speaker 1: to be free? Ask Nelson Mandela when he was alive.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Nelson Mandela suffered twenty some years man, behind the wall.
- 10:00Speaker 1: When he got out, he was more powerful, more significant
- 10:08Speaker 1: than he was before he went in. Ain't ever too
- 10:12Speaker 1: late to be free. It's a mindset. It's a mindset, y'all.
- 10:17Speaker 1: It's a decision. It's a will. It's a change of direction.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It's an obligation to yourself. It's taking dead aim at
- 10:25Speaker 1: your life's visions and goals. Come on, man, you got
- 10:28Speaker 1: to get your mind wrapped around this thing. You owe
- 10:31Speaker 1: it to yourself to live the best life you can be.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Come on, man, God didn't create you to be an inmate.
- 10:37Speaker 1: What you're sitting in there fall now. When you make
- 10:39Speaker 1: your mistaken you do your time, and you come out.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Don't let nobody fool you. Well, I got this. I
- 10:43Speaker 1: can't get a job. I guess I gotta go do
- 10:45Speaker 1: what I gotta do. Are you stupid? For real? That's
- 10:48Speaker 1: the decision you'd made. Nah, man, you're gonna wind him
- 10:51Speaker 1: right back in now. Come on, man, talk to God.
- 10:54Speaker 1: God got something for you. You just gotta check in
- 10:56Speaker 1: with him. You're listening, ladies and gentlemen. Today it's going
- 11:05Speaker 1: to be different. I have decided, without conferring with anyone,
- 11:11Speaker 1: that today would be a day well, come on, wow,
- 11:19Speaker 1: every day think that this? No should not like every
- 11:25Speaker 1: day this? Watch this what our food? H but nothing?
- 11:34Speaker 1: High right over your own front and waiting. Hey, ladies,
- 11:41Speaker 1: hello Steve, stay out the way you try to control it.
- 11:48Speaker 1: Do your best? All right? Well let's okay, Well then,
- 11:52Speaker 1: if this is going to be a different day of ignorance,
- 11:55Speaker 1: let's have it. Don't back up now, don't back down now. Okay,
- 11:59Speaker 1: what you need? Let's thought with any question you want
- 12:01Speaker 1: to ask me. Let's just get this started right now.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Any question you want to ask me. This can carry
- 12:07Speaker 1: over into six thirty four. These are all ignorant, non
- 12:12Speaker 1: responsible answers. Oh okay, tell junior, I don't just but
- 12:19Speaker 1: tell junior you can see how fat you are the
- 12:24Speaker 1: most when you are wiping your backside. That's when the
- 12:31Speaker 1: most of your fat leans forward and you're able to
- 12:34Speaker 1: really see how much fat really is you. So you
- 12:40Speaker 1: still so you still reaching behind yourself. Yes, you're retching back.
- 12:47Speaker 1: So that's how we're still okay, okay, all right, all
- 12:53Speaker 1: right now you're still jamming your hand down the back
- 12:56Speaker 1: of the new level of ignorance. Okay, you win. Oh
- 13:04Speaker 1: that you the fattest that. I didn't think. I didn't
- 13:11Speaker 1: think you can talk yourselves. I really didn't. But man,
- 13:14Speaker 1: oh man, you gotta put your hand on the wall
- 13:18Speaker 1: in front of It's early, guys, it's early in the morning. Yeah,
- 13:22Speaker 1: people are having they're eating or they're just getting out
- 13:26Speaker 1: just when everybody going breakfast time. Wow. Really, okay, let's
- 13:32Speaker 1: start this again, Steve, because you speak to us again. Yeah,
- 13:36Speaker 1: that was that's unacceptable, bar see it. I just wanted
- 13:43Speaker 1: to be there. Ain't nothing they ain't I beg to
- 13:48Speaker 1: differ with you. Girl. You do the stuff out inhale
- 13:51Speaker 1: that give you credit for that. Okay, okay, how about this.
- 13:59Speaker 1: Let's not lying. Let's not do bodily functions. Let's not
- 14:03Speaker 1: do bodily. Alright, alright, yeah, that's out. Be quiet, Tommy,
- 14:10Speaker 1: thirty seconds you got thirty seconds, all right, Tommy, that's
- 14:15Speaker 1: at We just say it, all right, Steve, I'll just
- 14:23Speaker 1: ask you anything. What kind of day are you expecting
- 14:25Speaker 1: to have today? How about that? Absolutely incredible? Okay, that's
- 14:30Speaker 1: a perfectly perfect answer. We go, we come back. You're
- 14:33Speaker 1: gonna see high incredible idiot. Be right, there'll be right.
- 14:39Speaker 1: We'll be back at thirty two after Jesus help us
- 14:42Speaker 1: all you're listening to day? What is this? Y'all? Look,
- 14:51Speaker 1: we don't hate on people who have We don't hate
- 14:54Speaker 1: them because we don't have it. But it's just just
- 14:57Speaker 1: some hair rules out there. Did you got do about?
- 15:00Speaker 1: That's a hair rules, hair rules that you need to
- 15:04Speaker 1: live by even though you have it. Like, for instance,
- 15:09Speaker 1: if you got an alfro, that's nice, but people should
- 15:13Speaker 1: be able to go to the movies and see around
- 15:17Speaker 1: your alfro. That's all. You can't block the four or
- 15:21Speaker 1: five people seeing because of your halffroke. That's all I'm saying.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Tell me you got one man, oh man, I want
- 15:30Speaker 1: to disagree with that one before we go too far
- 15:32Speaker 1: into this, because this my throat, and if you want
- 15:38Speaker 1: to not get blocked, you need to get to early.

- 16:16Speaker 1: on your head and then a jet black beard. You
- 16:19Speaker 1: see what I'm saying, that too, just for men. It's
- 16:28Speaker 1: a maze, just for that. You gotta pick a color now,
- 16:34Speaker 1: we need all of it to be one. Yeah, pick
- 16:36Speaker 1: one that both of them, damn it, that's all we're saying.

- 17:19Speaker 1: but you're raising wristles. How hard is you ristling? Scratching
- 17:26Speaker 1: your scratch? White men do comb over where they take
- 17:37Speaker 1: some of their hell off the left side, growing long
- 17:43Speaker 1: enough to swipe it over on the right side to
- 17:46Speaker 1: get a piers that they have hand the top um
- 17:51Speaker 1: rule of hell. Black people don't try that. That is
- 17:58Speaker 1: not for you. Ain't no come open. Yeah, don't gonna

- 19:21Speaker 1: your shirt. I didn't come out and come on, come on.
- 19:33Speaker 1: Growing hair is wonderful. The ability to grow hair is wonderful.
- 19:39Speaker 1: But this is for me. That's over forty five. Growing
- 19:44Speaker 1: it in your nose and your eels. Say that, damn dog,
- 19:51Speaker 1: Listen to me. I got a partner. You look up
- 19:54Speaker 1: his nostril. It's just all gray. Hell. Hey dog, they
- 19:58Speaker 1: got a device that you can to tweezer. Man, it's
- 20:03Speaker 1: a little electronic thing. Just go and get the nose.
- 20:06Speaker 1: You get that hell out your ear. If you want
- 20:08Speaker 1: to age yourself. Ill hell and nose hell is the
- 20:14Speaker 1: quickest thing that sells to a woman who's old as
- 20:17Speaker 1: hell first, because you cannot have hair, man. Yeah, yeah, okay, Jake,

- 20:48Speaker 1: that money. But as soon as you on your way
- 20:51Speaker 1: back here on that plane, on that plane, you need
- 20:56Speaker 1: to get that stuff out. You take diet that half day,
- 21:02Speaker 1: get between somebody legs in a row before you, and
- 21:14Speaker 1: as soon as we hit two thousand feet, you didn't
- 21:17Speaker 1: need to be between somebody leg don't get the customs
- 21:21Speaker 1: with this down, y'all know that true. I have to

- 22:21Speaker 1: Do you have the main number? Man? I keep calling
- 22:24Speaker 1: the main line, but there ain't nobody answered. I had
- 22:26Speaker 1: to call that about six seven times. They keep rolling

- 26:54Speaker 1: I'm thinking of you and all the other young brothers
- 26:56Speaker 1: to do this thumb. You watch too many of the

- 27:25Speaker 1: You ain't no bank robber. You don't sound like no

- 29:10Speaker 1: giving out criminally, if you're gonna rob a man, you
- 29:12Speaker 1: should rob it a limo. First of all, what's the
- 29:15Speaker 1: limo driver find out? Like the one dude in this
- 29:17Speaker 1: prank that that's put you up to. It's gonna be
- 29:20Speaker 1: hard getting limo. Oh yeah, all right, Miss Anna's coming
- 29:24Speaker 1: up next with our National News. You're listening to Steven Show.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Take this job and shove it all? Heard that before?
- 29:34Speaker 1: I thought that before. I wanted to do that before.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Right here, Hello, I'm here. Well, guys, have you ever
- 29:41Speaker 1: you know, left an attitude? Actions left a job with you? Yeah? Okay,
- 29:46Speaker 1: let's hear about it. You're taking hell, I'm shitting here here,
- 29:54Speaker 1: and I got my ask over here right here, mean
- 29:59Speaker 1: right that, I'm yeah, I'm not throwing shade. I'm building
- 30:05Speaker 1: a tent. I know you have one set you to
- 30:12Speaker 1: take this job and shove it. Story. Well, I've worked
- 30:17Speaker 1: at a place called Lincoln Electric and I hated it.
- 30:23Speaker 1: I hated with everything in me. I worked a graveyard
- 30:25Speaker 1: ship twelve to eight in the morning, and man, I
- 30:31Speaker 1: despised the job because at four o'clock, I don't care
- 30:34Speaker 1: who you are. You sleepy, Yeah, there is no getting
- 30:38Speaker 1: used to four am. You're supposed to be sleep And
- 30:44Speaker 1: lunch was twenty minutes. It was like working. It was.
- 30:46Speaker 1: It was the hardest job I've ever had. Lunch was
- 30:49Speaker 1: twenty minutes and you and we had to work on
- 30:51Speaker 1: a piece system where we had to develop all these
- 30:55Speaker 1: wire coils by pieces. And I hated that job. And
- 31:00Speaker 1: I had this little dude named Tony. Wasn't my supervisor,
- 31:03Speaker 1: cooler dude, but I just I didn't like the company.
- 31:07Speaker 1: And so I went to work one day and I
- 31:08Speaker 1: just told him. I said, hey, man, I'm not gonna
- 31:11Speaker 1: be able to continue anymore. I got a huge loan
- 31:14Speaker 1: came in from Small Business Association to start my own company.
- 31:19Speaker 1: And all the men was there, Oh wow, really, Steve,
- 31:22Speaker 1: what you do? Yeah, I'm starting my own carpet cleaning business. Man.
- 31:25Speaker 1: I got the money, the loan came through, offer me
- 31:27Speaker 1: to body equipment. So I'm gonna go full time. Oh man,
- 31:31Speaker 1: good luck to you, Good luck to you. So I
- 31:33Speaker 1: ended up getting his job as a carpet cleaning com well.
- 31:37Speaker 1: One of the guys used my company, which partly was true.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I didn't really get the money from a small business loan.
- 31:45Speaker 1: I just wanted to quit, okay. And so one dude
- 31:50Speaker 1: called me and asked me to clean his house because
- 31:54Speaker 1: he knew my house number. And I went by his house.
- 31:57Speaker 1: But I had went to pick and play with your
- 31:59Speaker 1: grocery store, and I rented machines every day and just
- 32:03Speaker 1: put it in the back seat of my car. And
- 32:06Speaker 1: I pulled up at his house and unloaded the carpet
- 32:09Speaker 1: cleaning machine from the back seating my car. Man, I
- 32:12Speaker 1: thought she was a professional carpet cleaner. You didn't renting
- 32:15Speaker 1: the machine from that man. I'm gonna tell everybody down
- 32:18Speaker 1: at the job, okay, So I said, okay, cool, ain't
- 32:22Speaker 1: no problem right here, that sound like. So I just
- 32:27Speaker 1: went on and ruined his carpet ruined, now ruined Carbet
- 32:35Speaker 1: didn't extract the water, just put it in there. Since
- 32:40Speaker 1: you're gonna go tell go tell him that too. He
- 32:43Speaker 1: felt good about this, didn't yeh? Did? Man very comfortable.
- 32:47Speaker 1: And from that story we go to the one of them.
- 32:51Speaker 1: It wasn't a funny story. It wasn't really a just
- 32:53Speaker 1: so you know, I don't like the company, or now
- 32:59Speaker 1: I really didn't like you. Tank us to Mith. Anne,
- 33:03Speaker 1: Steve Trip, thank you very much, everybody. This is Anne
- 33:08Speaker 1: Trip with the News. President Trump invited leaders from both
- 33:11Speaker 1: sides of the aisle to the White House yesterday for
- 33:13Speaker 1: what was billed as a briefing on border security. However,
- 33:16Speaker 1: congressional leaders ended up no closer to an agreement to
- 33:19Speaker 1: end the partial government shutdown, which is in its thirteenth
- 33:23Speaker 1: day today. The President still is demanding of the same
- 33:26Speaker 1: amount of money for his wall. He says he needs it.
- 33:29Speaker 1: We're asking for five point six or somebody said two
- 33:31Speaker 1: point five. No, Look, this is national security we're talking about,
- 33:36Speaker 1: you know, just like we talked about the military, just
- 33:38Speaker 1: like we're talking about Syria or Afghanistan. And the Democrats say, well,
- 33:42Speaker 1: now we'll give you one point three billion for border
- 33:45Speaker 1: security and that's about it. Hey, speaking of numbers, this
- 33:47Speaker 1: is twenty nineteen. Neurologist Lloyd Strahorn tells me this is
- 33:50Speaker 1: a three universal year. Those who are born on the
- 33:53Speaker 1: third twelve month, they all like me to go very
- 33:58Speaker 1: very far. Airy they should think big expand their mental horizons.
- 34:02Speaker 1: For Tauruses, this is a year where they can expect
- 34:05Speaker 1: to close the books on just about anyone or anything
- 34:08Speaker 1: that's been a waste, toxic or non productive. For geminis,
- 34:13Speaker 1: just about anything you set your mind to, this is
- 34:16Speaker 1: going to be a big, big year for you. For
- 34:19Speaker 1: real cancers, this is a year for them instead to
- 34:22Speaker 1: be free and flexible, as committed in the things they do. Leos,
- 34:27Speaker 1: this year may find them with a desire to stand
- 34:30Speaker 1: out more under the radar than above it, in other words,
- 34:34Speaker 1: avoiding all the spotlights, but underneath that they're likely to
- 34:38Speaker 1: put together plans of actions in a methodical way. Virgos,
- 34:42Speaker 1: they happen to be in a physician this year actually
- 34:44Speaker 1: to get quite a bit done. As for the leaving,
- 34:47Speaker 1: the sign of beauty and balance include the words both
- 34:51Speaker 1: in their lexicon. Be for braids over outstand they help
- 34:55Speaker 1: a leadership and dep dynamic. For scorpions, taking names and
- 35:00Speaker 1: things like that is going to be very important and
- 35:01Speaker 1: it's going to also enhance their good will. Sagittarians, they
- 35:04Speaker 1: may have to slow it down a bit, but that's
- 35:06Speaker 1: because they're known as a sign and entertainment. As for
- 35:09Speaker 1: capital horns, their role is to become a beacon of
- 35:12Speaker 1: light by showing others a way out of the darkness aquarians,
- 35:15Speaker 1: the year will bring with them periods of self reflection
- 35:18Speaker 1: and self inventory for Pisces, and suggests that they'd be
- 35:21Speaker 1: more fluid able to get around how matters easily without
- 35:24Speaker 1: the hassholes that they might usually encounter. When you look
- 35:27Speaker 1: at the four numbers, one is a water number that's
- 35:30Speaker 1: a two, one is an earth number that's a zero,
- 35:32Speaker 1: and the other two which is the one in the
- 35:34Speaker 1: nine of fire numbers. And because they're more fire numbers,
- 35:38Speaker 1: it means that people should be more proactive, in other words,
- 35:41Speaker 1: getting off the rusty deskie and making things happen. Go
- 35:44Speaker 1: to Lloyd dash strayhorn dot com. This is an trip
- 35:47Speaker 1: and I have to end unforc with sad news. The
- 35:49Speaker 1: Captain from the Captain into Nil has died. Darryl Dragon
- 35:55Speaker 1: died yesterday at renal failure in a hospice in Arizona
- 35:59Speaker 1: at age seventy six, and he and Tony Tanil divorced
- 36:02Speaker 1: back in twenty fourteen, but apparently they remain close and
- 36:05Speaker 1: when he felt ill, she came to his bedside and
- 36:07Speaker 1: she nursed it until he passed. That's right, the captain
- 36:11Speaker 1: from Tony Channel has passed. Love will keep them together.
- 36:14Speaker 1: I suppose this is and trip back to the Steve
- 36:16Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. You're listening show, listen, I'm gonna do
- 36:22Speaker 1: is you know things that that's cold for now are
- 36:27Speaker 1: things people say and you got to know how to
- 36:29Speaker 1: read what they're saying because it's really a cold. They
- 36:33Speaker 1: say one thing, but what it really means is So
- 36:36Speaker 1: I'm gonna call this this segment is called colde cracking. Yeah,
- 36:41Speaker 1: you've always been a crack crack. Yeah, so Shirley, could
- 36:45Speaker 1: you do me a favor? Yes, you say the first
- 36:48Speaker 1: line and you'll crack crack. Okay, Like if a person
- 36:52Speaker 1: says I'm in between jobs, yeah, ain't work because you
- 36:59Speaker 1: heard that, especially take I don't know. Here's another one, Steve,
- 37:11Speaker 1: I don't really watch TV. Cable got cut that. You
- 37:23Speaker 1: don't watch football, you watch power all right? I know
- 37:30Speaker 1: about this one. When you hear a lady say this
- 37:33Speaker 1: is my favorite person one been there my favorite favorite
- 37:51Speaker 1: about this one? Steve, We've decided to see other people? Yeah? Yeah,
- 37:56Speaker 1: he just walked out on he's been seeing you just
- 38:05Speaker 1: got the memo. We decided he'd been seeing somebody else.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Oh man, Okay, here goes one. I don't really like
- 38:13Speaker 1: a lot of company. They stay with their mom and
- 38:18Speaker 1: exactly what you know. I just tried to take as
- 38:25Speaker 1: quick as I can. Okay, Um, yeah, I like to
- 38:29Speaker 1: take walks, you know, because when you take walks, you
- 38:31Speaker 1: get to see him. He ain't got no damn call.
- 38:37Speaker 1: How you like to walk downtown? Who the hell likes
- 38:43Speaker 1: to walk down? Okay? How about this one? Uh, they're
- 38:51Speaker 1: tripping down at my job again? They tripping down at
- 38:55Speaker 1: my job? You got five? Yeah, all right, you want
- 39:07Speaker 1: to Okay, we gotta go. That was good though, Steve
- 39:10Speaker 1: that okay, we'll be back. You're listening, all right, it's
- 39:17Speaker 1: time as promised for All I said was it's very simple.
- 39:22Speaker 1: But if you if you're in a relationship or been
- 39:26Speaker 1: in a relationship, there's things that you have said, just
- 39:30Speaker 1: little statements. Next thing you know, you're in a full
- 39:34Speaker 1: blown argument, just just out of nowhere. Like all I
- 39:39Speaker 1: said was all I said, Well, what would I do
- 39:43Speaker 1: with the money if I want a lottery m And
- 39:47Speaker 1: I said, you know, I said this, I say that.
- 39:49Speaker 1: Then all of a sudden, I'm we're in an argument.
- 39:52Speaker 1: We have a full argument. Oh make believe money. You
- 39:55Speaker 1: know what I'm saying right now, I'm time. You know
- 39:57Speaker 1: what I'm tilling. You've been in the junior yeah, been there?
- 40:01Speaker 1: Still in there something? You know. All I said was,
- 40:06Speaker 1: you know, if I ever meet Beyonce? Right well, she
- 40:14Speaker 1: knew the rest of the statement, and I meant it.
- 40:17Speaker 1: You know, I mean if I met Beyonce. Hey, you
- 40:22Speaker 1: know she allowed me to date husband. You ain't all
- 40:27Speaker 1: I see what? You want to know what I said, John,
- 40:32Speaker 1: All I said, would my girlfriend husband be tripping? That's
- 40:39Speaker 1: all I said, Jay, my girlfriend husband be tripping? That's
- 40:44Speaker 1: all I see. All Right, I was on the phone
- 40:49Speaker 1: the other day, just you know, my girlfriend, just talking.
- 40:52Speaker 1: All I said was because it was just the two
- 40:54Speaker 1: of us. Yeah, I didn't know Nesto was in the house.
- 40:57Speaker 1: All I said was Morgan Freeman could get it. You know,
- 41:04Speaker 1: I don't even talk like that with my girls. You
- 41:06Speaker 1: know we're just talking. Oh man, the argument that has
- 41:10Speaker 1: I'm sorry, woman, you know I don't said so much.
- 41:19Speaker 1: Just pick one up, you know. All I said one time?
- 41:23Speaker 1: One you know, she made me something I just said,
- 41:26Speaker 1: you know, when my mama baked it, she baked it
- 41:28Speaker 1: is different. Got to do it. Yeah, and when you
- 41:36Speaker 1: talk about cooking and stuff like that, don't look over
- 41:38Speaker 1: here at me. Okay, everybody glanced everybody. Whenever it's fool,
- 41:43Speaker 1: we always look at you. I don't know why. I
- 41:46Speaker 1: mean a little simple things started it, you know, like it.
- 41:49Speaker 1: All I said was if we weren't together, x y
- 41:53Speaker 1: Z one of your girlfriends, who did I get with?
- 41:55Speaker 1: You know that's together? Yeah, if we were together, I
- 42:01Speaker 1: get well, you know you're dead. You hit weren't together,
- 42:06Speaker 1: you're dead. Man. You can't really say nothing about their body, No,
- 42:10Speaker 1: you can't. I didn't want I did. I said something
- 42:12Speaker 1: one time, I said, why her dressed so tight? Like
- 42:22Speaker 1: he was on my damn right? Okay, okay? All I said,
- 42:29Speaker 1: if she pregnant, it's a possibility, you know, I'm just
- 42:39Speaker 1: if she spragnant? Wow, I can't you want to? Maybe
- 42:46Speaker 1: maybe I had to give my car key. I walked
- 42:49Speaker 1: in the room one time, she laying down on the
- 42:51Speaker 1: bed trying to put the pants on. I said, that's
- 42:53Speaker 1: how we got to do it now. Yeah, we walked.
- 43:06Speaker 1: We walked to this restaurant one time. All I said,
- 43:10Speaker 1: me and my exes to come here all the time,
- 43:15Speaker 1: and then it helped it to guess butter Brown you
- 43:17Speaker 1: back again. I can't, No, nobody, I can't, right, I said,
- 43:29Speaker 1: I'm talking. I said, so what side you were? Now?
- 43:39Speaker 1: Because I'm going I just say to what side you were? Said?
- 43:50Speaker 1: All right, more of this crazy ignorant show. Steve Harvey

- 44:02Speaker 1: four minutes after the hour, we'll have today strawberry letter.
- 44:05Speaker 1: But right now, come on, nephew, what is your prank phone?
- 44:08Speaker 1: Call for it today? You bouncing checks at the church? Wow,
- 44:14Speaker 1: y'all know who you are that's bouncing checks at your church?
- 44:18Speaker 1: Is that your Christian voice? Oh? You're a bouncing chick? Okay,
- 44:28Speaker 1: he it is. Hello. Hello, I'm trying to reach a
- 44:32Speaker 1: Monica system. Monica. Please, this is a brother, brother de Seawan.
- 44:38Speaker 1: I'm calling. Actually, I'm a member at a Greater Commissionary
- 44:42Speaker 1: Baptist church. How can I help you? That's what I'm
- 44:45Speaker 1: calling you? Actually about the offering? Now, did you I
- 44:48Speaker 1: know you paid your ties, but you also Sunday. Okay,
- 44:54Speaker 1: Now you paid a love offering as well, right, yes,
- 44:56Speaker 1: I do? Okay, Now this past Sunday, I'm looking at
- 45:00Speaker 1: a check that you left for us with the bank, right, right,
- 45:04Speaker 1: I sure did. I wrote a check Sunday. Okay. Now
- 45:07Speaker 1: the check, ma'am was two hundred and fifty dollars. Am
- 45:11Speaker 1: I correct? Right? Right? I wrote two checks for my
- 45:13Speaker 1: ties and the love offering. Right, I wrote one for
- 45:16Speaker 1: two fifty for the love offering. Okay, Now, ma'am, I
- 45:19Speaker 1: don't I know. First of all, you know I didn't
- 45:22Speaker 1: ask you. How's your day going? You're doing all right?
- 45:24Speaker 1: My dad is fun? How about yours? I'm like I said,
- 45:28Speaker 1: I'm blessed now, But what is this call regarding? Why
- 45:31Speaker 1: are you calling me? Well, what I wanted to tell
- 45:34Speaker 1: you is that I hate to be a bar of
- 45:36Speaker 1: bad news. But Joe, your check that you wrote for
- 45:39Speaker 1: two fifty actually has bounced. And wait a minute, you
- 45:43Speaker 1: said my check bounce for two hundred and fifty dollars.
- 45:46Speaker 1: Your check bounce. So what I'm doing is calling you
- 45:49Speaker 1: about recouping the two fifty as well as you know
- 45:52Speaker 1: you you cost us thirty dollars in bank fees. But
- 45:57Speaker 1: wait a minute, now, I wrote two checks. I wrote
- 45:59Speaker 1: a check for one hundred dollars. Did that one bounce?
- 46:02Speaker 1: I don't see to it that that that one bounced.
- 46:04Speaker 1: All I know is the one that the love offering
- 46:06Speaker 1: has bounced. What did you put them in at the
- 46:08Speaker 1: same time? Because I wrote him at the same time.
- 46:10Speaker 1: They all go in on Monday, ma'am. Now I didn't
- 46:13Speaker 1: put them in at the same time. I've been putting
- 46:15Speaker 1: them in for the last two or three years. The
- 46:16Speaker 1: problem is why would people write them? What is your name?
- 46:20Speaker 1: M brother Deshaun? And you was at it Sunday? I was.
- 46:23Speaker 1: I don't think it matters. And when I was there, man,
- 46:25Speaker 1: the problem is that I didn't put these checks in.
- 46:28Speaker 1: And I don't understand why y'all write these checks to
- 46:30Speaker 1: the track knowing that they're gonna because a lot of
- 46:33Speaker 1: people write that good well checks? One clear? Why the
- 46:38Speaker 1: other one didn't clear? Maybe you didn't have enough money
- 46:40Speaker 1: for both of them to clear? What what did you
- 46:43Speaker 1: just say? Maybe you didn't have enough money in the
- 46:45Speaker 1: bank for both of them to clear. I don't understand
- 46:47Speaker 1: why people planning money in the bank at all. My
- 46:51Speaker 1: checks clear. I don't write no damn rubber checks. Well,
- 46:53Speaker 1: you wrote one on Sunday, and that's the problem. How
- 46:56Speaker 1: are you gonna try to give a look? You? Wait
- 46:58Speaker 1: a minute. I think you got me confused with somebody else.
- 47:00Speaker 1: I don't write no bad checks. You didn't wrote that
- 47:03Speaker 1: to be nice to you. I'm trying to be nice
- 47:04Speaker 1: to you. Win. Can we expect the two fifty plus
- 47:07Speaker 1: the thirty dollars? So thirty dollars? That's the bank feeds
- 47:11Speaker 1: man for the dog gonna check bouncing. My check didn't bounce.
- 47:14Speaker 1: I don't check my bank. And if my check clear,
- 47:17Speaker 1: you're gonna pay me thirty dollars for calling me harassing
- 47:19Speaker 1: me bout a two hundred and fifty dollar check bounce.
- 47:22Speaker 1: I don't write no damn Why would you write check? What?
- 47:24Speaker 1: You want to sit up in the church and write
- 47:26Speaker 1: these big number checks when you know you ain't got
- 47:28Speaker 1: it in the bank. What did you say? I said,
- 47:31Speaker 1: why would you write these checks when the money ain't in? Now,
- 47:35Speaker 1: let me tell you that's one thing. I don't write
- 47:37Speaker 1: no bad checks. And you got a lot nerds calling
- 47:41Speaker 1: me telling me my check bounce. Y'all, check is the
- 47:43Speaker 1: one that has bounced, and you tell you what you do.
- 47:45Speaker 1: Since my check bounce, you paid them, since you got
- 47:48Speaker 1: all the money, And don't call me with this again?
- 47:53Speaker 1: Call her bad cat, call her back hello. Don't you
- 47:58Speaker 1: hang upon me no more? When an're we gonna get
- 48:00Speaker 1: this two fifty and this thirty dollars? Somebody from the
- 48:05Speaker 1: church to my I wrote a bad check? I write,
- 48:08Speaker 1: you did write a bad check. I didn't write no
- 48:10Speaker 1: bad Yes, you damn it. Why are you calling me?
- 48:13Speaker 1: Why the treasure? Don't call me at church? The treasure
- 48:16Speaker 1: is business. I ain't never know the deacon called nobody
- 48:19Speaker 1: about no bad check. You're fully thank you? You got
- 48:24Speaker 1: the damn money I ain't got. Who is that in
- 48:27Speaker 1: the background? Who is that for mine? Who it is?
- 48:29Speaker 1: We're both going to the same church, and you're gonna
- 48:32Speaker 1: call me to my I wrote a bad check. You
- 48:34Speaker 1: don't you call me no more? And if the check bads,
- 48:37Speaker 1: you paid? Okay? Keep passed to know you talking like this?
- 48:40Speaker 1: You pass to? No you calling me? Can you ask
- 48:43Speaker 1: for that? Look? When are we gonna get this? Two
- 48:45Speaker 1: fifty two hundred and eighty dollars is what we're looking
- 48:48Speaker 1: for from you? I wrote a check for two fifty
- 48:50Speaker 1: and not get two eighty. You put the thirty dollars
- 48:54Speaker 1: with it. You put two fifty in there, it bounce.
- 48:57Speaker 1: Thirty dollars cost us on bake fees. That's eighty. Where
- 49:00Speaker 1: can the church expect their money? Never? Not? No two eighty.
- 49:05Speaker 1: You will never get to eighty. You're gonna make me
- 49:07Speaker 1: come by your and my check? Then what did you say?
- 49:10Speaker 1: I'm gonna do what You're gonna make me? Come by
- 49:11Speaker 1: your house and get this money? Bring it own, bring
- 49:15Speaker 1: it bring you what is the address on this check? Check?
- 49:18Speaker 1: I got it off the check, bring your own. I

- 49:29Speaker 1: thirty whatever I want to Okay, No, you you know
- 49:32Speaker 1: where I am. And you don't call me no more
- 49:34Speaker 1: with this because my check did not bounce. I don't
- 49:37Speaker 1: see how one check went through and the other bounce.
- 49:40Speaker 1: Let me say this to you. We cannot accept you
- 49:42Speaker 1: back into the House of the Lord no more until
- 49:45Speaker 1: you are not don't you come in the sunday until

- 51:33Speaker 1: that out. Now. You don't bounce checks at the church.
- 51:38Speaker 1: You know how quick the church check clear? Now? Do
- 51:40Speaker 1: you know they clear on Sunday? Now? Yea, they be
- 51:45Speaker 1: in there. You can't card now they know? Oh yeah,
- 51:53Speaker 1: everything cash on. We had nothing that ch no, we
- 51:58Speaker 1: had no. You couldn't write a check. Check. We couldn't
- 52:01Speaker 1: do that. You couldn't write a check cash hash so
- 52:06Speaker 1: embarrassing at the church. And ladyship, do you have another card?
- 52:10Speaker 1: Just keep it low. You ain't got to see that
- 52:11Speaker 1: loud and everybody. You haven't another card? No, bless me.
- 52:21Speaker 1: Famous line of our church was, you know the Lord
- 52:23Speaker 1: said we ain't give enough this go around? Now ain't

- 52:31Speaker 1: say Lord said we we ain't give enough. It's five more,
- 52:35Speaker 1: five more, hundred and hire. Our trade went around three times,
- 52:39Speaker 1: Well it passed me three damn times. All right, we'll

- 53:05Speaker 1: Tell him Steve, yeah, exact, excuse me, that's exactly what
- 53:10Speaker 1: I was. I'm so happy you see. Yeah, And we
- 53:14Speaker 1: could be reading your letter just like we're going to
- 53:16Speaker 1: read this one. You never know. Let's go buggle up,
- 53:19Speaker 1: hold on tight. We got it for you here. It
- 53:21Speaker 1: is the Strawberry Letter. A subject a stepmom that may
- 53:26Speaker 1: need to step away. Dear Stephen Shirley, My husband and
- 53:30Speaker 1: I have been married for eleven years. My husband has
- 53:33Speaker 1: three grown children from his previous marriage, two sons and
- 53:37Speaker 1: a daughter. His sons are happily married, but his daughter
- 53:41Speaker 1: is not. My husband's ex wife constantly intrudes in our marriage,
- 53:45Speaker 1: and in her daughter's marriage, the daughter will not keep
- 53:48Speaker 1: her mom out of her business and it upsets her husband.
- 53:51Speaker 1: The ex wife has also made my husband's life miserable,
- 53:55Speaker 1: but I can deal with that. It's my stepdaughter that
- 53:58Speaker 1: is the problem. I am not welcome at any of
- 54:00Speaker 1: the grandchildren's birthday parties or family get togethers because of her.
- 54:04Speaker 1: I have tried for many years to have a relationship
- 54:07Speaker 1: with my stepdaughter, but she's not interested. I run around
- 54:11Speaker 1: and buy things for her children and help her father
- 54:13Speaker 1: get gifts for her children, and she will only thank
- 54:16Speaker 1: my husband. She has never told me thank you. She
- 54:20Speaker 1: refers to our home as her dad's house. It hurts
- 54:23Speaker 1: my feelings that she does not respect my marriage to
- 54:26Speaker 1: her dad. My husband always defends his daughter's actions and
- 54:29Speaker 1: how he treats me. He tries to make it better
- 54:32Speaker 1: by making up lies about how his daughter says to
- 54:35Speaker 1: tell me Hi when they talk, Steve, How can I
- 54:38Speaker 1: get my husband to realize that his actions are just
- 54:40Speaker 1: as bad as his daughter's attitude. I'm not worried about
- 54:43Speaker 1: the ex wife, but I have to spend time with
- 54:46Speaker 1: his daughter, so I need to fix this situation. My
- 54:49Speaker 1: family life is falling apart, and I am the only
- 54:52Speaker 1: one who seems to notice. What should I do? What
- 54:57Speaker 1: should you do? You ask? Well, first of all, I
- 55:01Speaker 1: think you're doing way too much. I think you should
- 55:04Speaker 1: stop doing everything. Okay, Stop going to places with them.
- 55:08Speaker 1: They don't want you there anyway, So stop going, Stop
- 55:11Speaker 1: buying stuff for them, Stop trying to make them like you.
- 55:15Speaker 1: Stop you know, wanting to thank you from the daughter
- 55:18Speaker 1: and going and helping, you know, buy stuff and get
- 55:22Speaker 1: gifts and all of that. And please stop letting this
- 55:25Speaker 1: woman disrespect you like this. Okay, you deserve much better.
- 55:32Speaker 1: You know. It's not about them, it's about you. And
- 55:34Speaker 1: your husband really needs to grow up here. He needs
- 55:39Speaker 1: to speak up for you on your behalf. You're his wife.
- 55:42Speaker 1: You should come first. Okay. He shouldn't let anyone. I
- 55:45Speaker 1: don't care who it is. I don't care if it's
- 55:47Speaker 1: this crazy daughter that he has, his meddling ex wife,
- 55:50Speaker 1: anyone come before you and treat you this way. My
- 55:54Speaker 1: husband always defends his daughter's actions and how she treats me.
- 55:58Speaker 1: Why is he defending her? Why isn't he defending you?
- 56:01Speaker 1: His wife? That's who, and you need to let him
- 56:04Speaker 1: know what is going on here. I'm your wife. He
- 56:08Speaker 1: knows that, but you haven't spoken up for yourself. You
- 56:10Speaker 1: need to let your husband know how it's going to
- 56:12Speaker 1: be from this day forward. He needs to You all
- 56:15Speaker 1: need to be a unit, present that unit to the
- 56:17Speaker 1: family and deal with it that way. Okay, maybe the
- 56:20Speaker 1: daughter will back down once she sees that the husband
- 56:24Speaker 1: respects you and sticks up for you, but you gotta
- 56:26Speaker 1: stick up for yourself to your husband first. Steve, Well,
- 56:31Speaker 1: this is a complete mess. Yeah, Blended families are always difficult.
- 56:36Speaker 1: I've had my share difficulties with it myself, especially when
- 56:41Speaker 1: you're dealing with these grown kids because they have their
- 56:44Speaker 1: own ideas of what they think should be. Had I
- 56:48Speaker 1: listened to our grown kids, Marjorie and I probably wouldn't
- 56:53Speaker 1: have got married because they went bowling and decided since
- 56:57Speaker 1: we're just informing them that they don't think we should
- 57:00Speaker 1: get married. I call him a bunch of stupid blankety
- 57:04Speaker 1: blanks and walked out the room simply because how y'all
- 57:08Speaker 1: ignorance gonna tell me something? Ain't none of y'all got
- 57:11Speaker 1: a husband, a wife, or a child. Now you're gonna
- 57:15Speaker 1: tell me how to behave so I can understand that
- 57:18Speaker 1: it's gotten way better since then, but that's still friction
- 57:23Speaker 1: every now and then. Your problem is that the daughter
- 57:26Speaker 1: has sided with the mother who is his ex wife.
- 57:33Speaker 1: She's totally taking her side. That's something wrong with his
- 57:37Speaker 1: ex wife, because if it wasn't, it wouldn't be his
- 57:40Speaker 1: ex wife, it would be his current wife. My husband's
- 57:44Speaker 1: ex wife constantly intrudes in our marriage and then her
- 57:47Speaker 1: daughter's marriage. Well I thought you said his sons are
- 57:51Speaker 1: happily married, but his daughter is not. Oh, that means
- 57:53Speaker 1: she's married but not Okay. Well, see, first of all,
- 57:58Speaker 1: his ex wife doesn't know how to have a successful marriage,
- 58:01Speaker 1: so any information that she's intruding on with her daughter's
- 58:05Speaker 1: marriage ain't gonna be helpful to his daughter her daughter
- 58:08Speaker 1: because she don't know how to have a healthy marriage,
- 58:11Speaker 1: and spreading dissension is her way. So now the daughter
- 58:15Speaker 1: can't stand you. Now what your daughters is is you
- 58:20Speaker 1: are not welcome at any of the grandchildren's birthday parties
- 58:24Speaker 1: or family get togethers because of her. I've tried for
- 58:27Speaker 1: many years to have relationship with my stepdaughter, but she's
- 58:30Speaker 1: not interested. I run around and buy things for her
- 58:33Speaker 1: children and help her father get gifts for her children.
- 58:36Speaker 1: She would only thank her husband. She would only think
- 58:41Speaker 1: my husband the lady. She's never told me thank you.
- 58:44Speaker 1: She refers to our home as her dad's house. It
- 58:47Speaker 1: hurts my feeling that she does not respect my marriage
- 58:50Speaker 1: to her dad. And you have every right to be hurt.
- 58:54Speaker 1: So what do you do? At one point, it takes
- 58:57Speaker 1: two to tangle if the other person, it takes two
- 59:00Speaker 1: people to take it takes two people to have a relationship.
- 59:03Speaker 1: Relationship is two people. She don't want a relationship. I
- 59:07Speaker 1: agree with Shirley. Stop stop buying stuff for the grandkids
- 59:11Speaker 1: and all this is stop shopping for your husband. Now.
- 59:16Speaker 1: If you can't get respected, she don't talk to you,
- 59:19Speaker 1: she don't thank you. Then see, let him go buy
- 59:23Speaker 1: stuff for the grandkids. Now. He caught between the rock
- 59:27Speaker 1: and a hard place, and we're gonna get to that
- 59:29Speaker 1: after the break. But he caught between the hot rock
- 59:31Speaker 1: and harplay. Because I know what he's tried to. He
- 59:34Speaker 1: tries to make it better by making up lies about
- 59:36Speaker 1: the highest. Daughter says to tell me high when they talk.
- 59:41Speaker 1: She already knows that's not you know good wells ain't
- 59:44Speaker 1: said hi to me. She ain't ever said high to me,
- 59:48Speaker 1: and I've been right here, So when the hell she
- 59:51Speaker 1: started sending a message? So you already noticed crazy But
- 59:55Speaker 1: old dude, he don't want you hurting the guy bad.
- 59:59Speaker 1: He don't want you to hurt But at one point time,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: a decision's got to be made. His loyalty is to you, period.
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: But he's suffering from guilt though. You gotta understand his
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: daughter is making him feel guilty over the mom's condition
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: mental stability. Oh, he polling in, honest man, And so
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: you gotta you gotta understand that. But I'll tell you
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: what I think you should do when we come all right, Steve,
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: So um, when we come back, we'll have part two
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: of your response to a step mom that may need
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: to step away twenty three after the hour. We'll get
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: into it right after this you're listening to. All right, Steve,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: we're back with part two of today's Strawberry Letter. A
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: stepmom that may need to step away is the subject.
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: Let's recap, shall we. Well? You know this woman is
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: married his husband. They've been married for eleven years. He
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: got three grown children from his previous marriage, two sons
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: and a daughter. His sons are happily married, but his
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: daughter's not. My husband's ex wife constantly intrudes in our
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: marriage and then her daughter's marriage. The daughter will not
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: keep her mom out of her business, and it upsets
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: her husband. The ex wife also made my husband's life miserable.
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: Oh I know what that is right there, that ex
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: wife trying to make your husband's life miserable. Oh Lord,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: been there. Oh I tightened up right there. I got
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: tight because Lord, I know that that is your ex
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: wife make your life miserable. Why won't she goes, sit
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: her tail down? Some damn will get your ass off
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: the internet. Quit selling stories to the QUI Okay, I
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: remind you to stop me about me all the damn time. Okay,
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: this is not about you. I have to, you know,
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: remind you of that. Steven. I think now it's a
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: good place. Well, but when he said the ex wife
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: has also made my husband's life miserable, that was directed.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: You don't see Steve in that sentence. I know I do.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: Two different people. Has nothing to do with you. Objective Steve.
- 1:02:32Speaker 1: First of all, I don't know what that means. We'll
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: take yourself out of it. Take yourself out of it.
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: Pick yourself out of it. I wasn't in it until
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: she said the ex wife has also made my husband's
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: life miserable. Now if that don't sound like she talking
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: to me? And I see, when God gives you a guilt,
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: you got to look at the gift for what it
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: is and appreciate it. So now here's what you got
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: to do. Step away. You should step away. Ain't no
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: neither trying to be kind and keep getting ribuffed. You
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: don't have to just have a person keep spitting on
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: you in your face, stay out their face. That's all
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: you got to do. Remove yourself from all this shopping
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: and buying and trying to go to get togethers and stuff.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: You know, I don't understand that having family events and
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: then someone calling you right now, I hear your phone.
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: I'm popular somebody calling me when they ain't Are they
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: hearing you? I wish that wasn't that who you think? Yeah,
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: to hear you talking about I got so many blocks
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: and stuff. You don't even want to stand up. Okay,
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: back to the letter, because you will get to stop. X.
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: Don't ask me how I know. I just know Shirley's right.
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: I would remove myself from situation. I'm not worried about
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: the ex wife, but I have to spend time with
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: his daughter, so I need to fix this situation. But
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: his daughter don't want to fix the situation. Have you
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: ever just said, hey, listen, I love your father, your
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: father loves me. I have nothing to do with your
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: father's breakup. I'm tired of being blamed for it. I've
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: been nothing but kind to you and these grandchildren I
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: want us to have Huh. She says that I have
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: tried for many years to have a relationship with my stepdaughter. Well,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I just told her what to say. Yeah, okay, well
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: just trying to have it. Let's live your life by Yeah,
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: and don't bring them damn kids over here now last
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: Christmas shop at That's right, I'm a stinger, So wait,
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: say that one more time. Don't come over here, no more,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: and don't bring them damn kids. You can talk about
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: the kids to make them feel bad. No, okay, no, no,
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: they're innocent. Don't I'll tell you what if you want
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: the kids to come over here from now, send them
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: over here, by your husb. You don't bring your ass
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: over here. But she's miserable in her marriage. She is
- 1:05:21Speaker 1: in an unhappy marriage. So misery loves company. Right. Well,
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: that's why I say sending him over here by the husban,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: because he probably need a break. I'm pretty sure he
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: loved to come over here to be killed wash the
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: game with us and everything. Yeah, he loved to come
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: over there by himself, just to get away from your
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: ain't love your mind. I just stopped by and sit down.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I ain't got I sen the driveway. I just come over.
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: I just swing by Chrispy Kreen. The light was y'all
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: wants them? Don't know that? Don't really make her matter. She,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: you know, develops a relationship with the husband and they
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: become good friends. Yeah, so it's really no way to
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: help people like that. It's no terphone. How long this
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: ex white thing can last? Trust me, another damn shot
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: over here? If you want. I forgot what I was
- 1:06:25Speaker 1: gonna ask you. Now he keep going. Yeah, answer this
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: question was, don't you think the husband should say something?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Don't you think the husband he's trying to say something
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: what he needs to get them off his wife? You
- 1:06:44Speaker 1: don't think that, you know what? What? He's got a
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: delicate line because he don't want it's his daughter, right,
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: He doesn't want to lose a relationship with his daughter.
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: He doesn't want the daughter to think he's picking the
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: wife over her, and he don't want the wife to
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: think that he's picking the daughter over her. He's caught
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: between the rock and hard place. It's a really tough
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: position to be, especially when company the women and boys
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: boys get on with a lot quicker. All right, well, listen, guys,
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: we do have to go email us or instagram us
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: your thoughts on today's Strawberry letter, which was not about Steve. No,
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: it wasn't. Jay, my son has actually told me Dan,
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: I know my mom, but good to Steve Harvey FM.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: Or go to my Girls, Shirley at my Girls, Shirley,
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: you're listening, all right, it is time for something funny. Steve.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let you take it away right here,
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: you and Jay with your reenactmate. Listen. This is for
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: all me and listening today. We're going to give you
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: how it works when you're trying to end conversation with
- 1:08:02Speaker 1: your wife or girlfriend and you're trying to find a
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: way to end it or not have it at all,
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: or not have this conversation. You're gonna have it, but
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: somehow it just goes on it. You don't want to talk. Basically,

- 1:08:21Speaker 1: Oh damn day quiet. You just want to come in
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: and not talk to nobody. You don't understand that, every man?

- 1:08:32Speaker 1: I'm saying? Here's hat go? What's wrong with here? How

- 1:14:41Speaker 1: did when you were a kid that nowadays moms and
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: dads could never get away with? Beat me on a
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: number eight at the grocer store in front of people.
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: That's why it went dad, that's yeah, yeah, yeah? What

- 1:15:23Speaker 1: I was cutting up later have been telling her I've
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: been cutting up, right, so she just I get my
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: mama dropped me off and decided not even to go
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: in go to work in and just stood there by
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: the door and waited for me to cut Soon as
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: I start it is is right? Mama came up to
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: the school, gave all my particular teachers permission to paddle me,
- 1:15:44Speaker 1: then gave him her house number and called me. So
- 1:15:47Speaker 1: when you get home, I can show you how really
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: posted though. Whoa double double beatings, double service. The choir singing,
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: so they can't hear me. They see what's going on
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: in that pew back the boy youraising look, yeah, because
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: she's out here weighing me out. He'll show he'll save

- 1:16:18Speaker 1: it's why the choir sang. That's why they can't hear me.
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: That's where won't he do it started? My mama sent
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: me to school one time with the exact same thing
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: in my lunch bag for six months. Oh what do
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: you mean, the same lunch the exact same damn thing,
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: because I told her I don't eat no tuna everything. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I've been in the junior choir and my mama said
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: something to me, and I mumbled something and she said something,
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: and I'm mum on my breath while we're up in
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: the quass, I'm thinking, you know she read them you
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: way over there. Pew number five got hit with a
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: hum book on target right in the face. My mama

- 1:17:45Speaker 1: You couldn't do that. You can't do none of this.
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: You can't do it. You couldn't. Uh. And parents, we're talking,
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: that's what we're talking about. Things that parents did when
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: we were kids that they could never get away with.
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: Switch pull over and get a switch. You can't do that.
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: Make you get yes, tommy, get out, pick it, clean
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: it off, bring it here, and I'm gonna beat you
- 1:18:04Speaker 1: with it. That's too much work. You know how long
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: it takes to get that sweet as whipping with an
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: extension cold all this is abuse now? Yeah? Yeah yeah,
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: yeah yeah yeah, classified abuse. Yeah. I watched my sister
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: called call CPS on my mom and they came over that. Yeah,
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: she beat it, She beat her in front of them.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: There's no problems here. Call the people, Yeah, you want
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: to call them people? Oh, y'all gonna get y'all a
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: show hold on that. Ladys Cbs said, well, there's no problems.
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: Here's closed left. Whoa wow, you guys, I can't do that.
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: You can't do it. I mean, these days and kids,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: it's just I think our parenting styles are different too,
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: you know what I mean. It's like these kids they
- 1:18:53Speaker 1: get away with so much. Tysha came home from school.
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: She had a bad day. She slammed her book bad down.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: I didn't know what to do. Would have been in
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: that book bag? I had done that knocked. Yeah, you're
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: slamming book back. You're buying book bag. Yeah, oh you're
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: buying book bag? Now you want some book bag? You know?
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: Didn't your parents take the door off to him? I
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: slammed that dough so hard. My daddy said, so we're
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: slamming dos huh huh. Took the whole dough off the
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: hen people just people come by a visit, those passing by.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: Why I stayed in my room as a kid. I
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: ain't got no privacy that. Yeah, my dad left that
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: dough off about three months. Wow, your lessons fingers now here?
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: My daddy was, I'm right, he didn't call me obviously
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: I took too long getting there. He's standing on the
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: side of the house. I ribbed my bike pass to jimney.
- 1:19:51Speaker 1: His ass pushed me off, Like how you tore that
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: to your I'm talking about pushing me hard. Yeah, nothing
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: was no way I could have kept my bell. We
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: do ain't even wobble, right, he pushed. I went straight down.
- 1:20:10Speaker 1: My daddy was strong. He's kids today. Got me out
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: here his yard waiting on you. Though I'm riding up
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: up the driveway. He's standing behind the chimney. Soon as
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: I got by that chimney stuck it, stiffed back and
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: locked my hand straight down. My bike can't even wobble.
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: I went straight to the ground. Cut a little up
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: in the thing. You're gonna sit up in here and
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: me sitting up in there waiting on you like I
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: got all damn. They get him, get that top bucket
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: so we can finish this drive. I was in a
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: car with my daddy. You know how to call. You
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: know how to do it? Is not shut all the way.
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: You need to kind of opening and shutter. Yeah, so
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: it'll be you know, because I'm hearing the jingle a
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: little bit and I'm ain't a file sick. But I
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: didn't see grown people when the door ain't clothed, you know,
- 1:20:57Speaker 1: they opened it and clothed right right right, But we
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: ran down the street. You're probably going about thirty five.
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: I ain't really be fit I open that doing close,
- 1:21:03Speaker 1: you know, like I'm grown pulled over? Hell, you open
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: that dough? Fu? I said that it wasn't it was.
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: I got hit every direction you could possibly think of.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: What was he driving, why he was driving? He stopped.
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: You wouldn't win seatbells back then, right, so when he stopped,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: he still gave me that all same bell and threw
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: my hands back. Man. Man, from that point, I don't
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: think I opened the dough No, I got I don't
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: hear side I did already? All right, more of this
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: crazy ignorant show. Steve Harvey Morning Show. Right after this,
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: you're listening Steven Show. Well, Carla, you just saw a
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: small lizard or a little geico in your house? Yes, girl,
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: I had a fit. I called. I'm sorry, I said,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: like you gecko, I know what you mean. Yeah, So
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: what happened now? It was crawling in the house by
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: the fireplace. Girl, I jumped on the couch because you don't.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: You don't like snakes or nake So okay, So Steve,
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: I gotta ask you. Have you ever seen any kind
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: of lizard or getto or anything crawling and it frightened
- 1:22:26Speaker 1: you in your house or it made you scared? No,
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: I've never had lizard anyhow. What happened? Fighter? Now, we've
- 1:22:32Speaker 1: been on vacation and we were in Africa. As a
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: matter of fact, I've taken the family. And when I
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: say lizard, now listen to me. We're in Africa. Don't
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: worry about guy called that little green thing that talk
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: on the command Yeah, no, that ain't what had got
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: in lloyd bathroom. Oh yeah, this one had a little
- 1:22:53Speaker 1: bit more What what you gonna do? This was? This
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: was the mama, grandma, I'm stump you and then I'm
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: gonna stomp you. It's what I thought that lizard was.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: So Lurid was gonna take a shower. She started running
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: the water. I don't know how this big ass thing
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: got in the shower, but it's probably about almost a
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: foot loan, almost a ruler. Ruler wasn't real big and heavy,
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: but it about a foot loan with the tail. So
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: let me now, We're in Africa, So now I got
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: I ain't just bust in there. She out with the
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: tie around her in the living room in front of
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: the whole family. So we got to think before we
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: just running in this Africa because this is Africa. This
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: I need it good, because I was thinking rhinoceros or
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: something like that. So I said, Lord, what is it?
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: And she just shaking. I God, I got Dad, I
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: can't go. I believe's go get it. Well, I'm not
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: gonna go in there until I get more information. Now,
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: the people at the lodge day ain't here because we're
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: in the villa. Yeah, we probably about maybe fifty yards
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: from the main lodge, so you know, I said, right,
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: I get her to calm down. She said, I don't
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: know what it is, but it's so big and it's
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: in the shower. I knew the shower was glass. I said,
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: was it on the floor? She said, was in the
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: middle of the wall. I said, okay, I go in there.
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: I see this big ass lizard in the middle of
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: the wall. And I said that scared me too. Do
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: need something? Daddy? Everybody behind me, So now I'm daddy,
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: I gotta do something. So I'm looking so I then
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: I hear, don't kill it, somebody in the go, don't
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: kill it all the kid, don't kill it, Daddy, set
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: it free. I hear you think I'm fin open dough.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: I'm not opening this damn dough. You know what we're
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: in the jungle. Do I know how to stand? Boy?
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: I walked him out, through him outside and told all
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: the kids. I let him out. He gone, So you
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: just out noutled. Okay, last question. You're listening to take
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: this job and shove it all? Heard that before. I
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: thought that before. I wanted to do that before. Right here, Hello,
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: I'm here. Well, guys, have you ever you know left
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: an attitude actions left a job with? Yeah, okay, let's
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: hear about it. But you're taking hell. I'm shopping here here,
- 1:25:59Speaker 1: and I got my ass over here right here, meaning
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: right here. Yeah, I'm not throwing shade. I'm building a tent.
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: I know you have one story. You take this job
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: and shove it. Story. Well, I worked at a place
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: called Lincoln Electric and I hated it. I hated with
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: everything in me. I worked a graveyard ship twelve to
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: eight in the morning because at four o'clock I don't
- 1:26:35Speaker 1: care who you are you sleepy? Yeah, there is no
- 1:26:39Speaker 1: getting used to four am. You're supposed to be sleep
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: It was the hardest job I've ever had. Lunch was
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: twenty minutes and you and we had to work on
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: a piece system where we had to develop all these
- 1:26:52Speaker 1: wire coils by pieces. And I hated that job. And
- 1:26:57Speaker 1: so I went to work one day and I just
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: told him, I said, hey, man, I'm not gonna be
- 1:27:01Speaker 1: able to continue anymore. I got a huge loan came
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: in from small Business Association to start my own company.
- 1:27:10Speaker 1: And all the men was the oh wow, really, Steve,
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: what you do? Yeah, I'm starting my own carpet cleaning business. Man,
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: I got the money, the loan came through, offered me
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: the body equipment, So I'm gonna go full time. Oh man,
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: good luck to you, Good luck to you. So I
- 1:27:24Speaker 1: ended up getting his job as a carpet cleaning company. Well,
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: one of the guys used my company, which partly was true.
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: I didn't really get the money from a small business loan.
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: I just wanted to quit, okay. And so one dude
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: called me and asked me to clean his house because
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: he knew my house number. And I went by his
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: house but I had went to pick and pay with
- 1:27:50Speaker 1: your grocery store, and I rented machines every day, and
- 1:27:54Speaker 1: just put it in the back seat of my car.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: And I pulled up at his house and unloaded the
- 1:28:00Speaker 1: carpet cleaning machine from back seating my car. Man, I
- 1:28:03Speaker 1: thought you was a professional car for cleaner. You didn't
- 1:28:06Speaker 1: rinding the machine from that. Man, I'm gonna tell everybody
- 1:28:09Speaker 1: down at the job, Okay, So I said, Okay, cool,
- 1:28:13Speaker 1: ain't no problem right here. That sound like. So I
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: just went on to ruin his copy ruined Now so
- 1:28:24Speaker 1: ruined Carver didn't extract the water, just put it in there.
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: Since you gonna go tell go tell him that too.
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I felt good about this, didn't you very comfortable? And
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: from that story we go to, uh, it wasn't a
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: funny story. It wasn't really just so you know, I
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: don't like the company, or no, I really didn't like you.
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: All Right, we're coming back with more of the Steve
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. As a matter of fact, this is
- 1:28:59Speaker 1: our last break the day. Steve's closing remarks, you don't
- 1:29:02Speaker 1: want to miss it. It's been a good day. We'll
- 1:29:05Speaker 1: be back at forty nine after the hour right after
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: this you're listening. Here we are, last break of the day,
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: last break of the day, with just one more thing, Steve,
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: I'm glad for one. I think we all are that
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: your closing remarks are back. You know, I've learned so
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: much over the years. You know, I've had a tough
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: goal of it, as many of you have. Mine, ain't
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: my story animal richer, are deeper than nobody else's. So
- 1:29:30Speaker 1: I just try to share the information that I've actually learned,
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: because I've learned a lot. And one of the things
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: that I've learned is about when to start. You know,
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: whenever you come up with an idea or thought or
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: move you want to make, or something comes from your imagination.
- 1:29:51Speaker 1: The thing that I find that stops people oftentimes is
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: when do I start? Now, here's the thing with starting.
- 1:30:04Speaker 1: What people do is they delay the start by overthinking it.
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: And if you overthink something, guess what will eventually and
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: you overexplain it to other people Eventually the how it
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: won't work, it's going to come up. So you have
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: this fabulous idea that you've thought of, right, and then
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: you shared with some people and he said, man, I'm
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: gonna go do this and you start talking it over,
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: and you start thinking it through, and you share it
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: with more people. The more people you share with, and
- 1:30:34Speaker 1: the more people and the more you think it through,
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: you know what, you keep coming up with the mishaps,
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: the things that can go wrong, and you end up
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: delaying the starting. The other thing that happens is people
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: try to line all they ducks up in a row
- 1:30:50Speaker 1: before they start so they can just go on and
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: start knocking them down. That's a mistake because that almost
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: never ever happens. I have yet to see any deal
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: I've ever done, any project i've started, go just the
- 1:31:05Speaker 1: way I thought it was gonna go. I have never
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: seen that. I have yet to close a deal that
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: just with smoothly, no wrinkles, no bumps, no nothing. I've
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: never seen that. So when you're waiting to start and
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: then the naysayers hit and you're waiting to start to
- 1:31:27Speaker 1: get your ducks lined up in the row, you're delaying
- 1:31:32Speaker 1: the process. You know when the best time to start
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: is right now, because right now alleviates procrastination. If you
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: wait on the ducks to get lined up in the row,
- 1:31:47Speaker 1: and you're listening to the naysayers, procrastination has already set
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: in and taken place, and oftentimes it takes hold. So
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: what I found is when I come up with the idea,
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: I start the process. Now, I start the process. Now, look, man,
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: you can easily do that. It's simple things. What stops
- 1:32:10Speaker 1: people is you try to figure out all the way through.
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: You have this goal that you got and you say, okay,
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna do this. Then if I do that? Then
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: if I do that, and then you get stuck because
- 1:32:19Speaker 1: you go, well, what happens after that? Because you've never
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: been in that area before, you've never gone down that road,
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: so the unknown strikes you. And then because you can't
- 1:32:27Speaker 1: figure out what you do when you get to the unknown,
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: you stop. So now you couldn't line up all your
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: ducks in the road, so the process to success is delayed. Again,
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: stop doing that to yourself. In two eighteen, y'all start
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: now do it now. What you have to do next
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: will be shown to you. It'll your first step will
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: lead you to the stat second step. Now, sometimes on
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: your journey you make a bad turn. You gotta make it.
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: You turn and come back and cross over the other
- 1:32:59Speaker 1: bridge instead of going that way. But until you take
- 1:33:02Speaker 1: one step, you'll never know where the next turn is.
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: If it's a fark in the road, if it's a
- 1:33:08Speaker 1: you turn, if it's a been, if it's a valley,
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: if it's a mountain. You got to start today. Stop
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: delaying at everybody. Whatever it is you want to do,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: start today. You may be surprised that you can actually
- 1:33:22Speaker 1: get yourself further than you thought you could with nobody
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: else's health. Now, in order to be successful, you're gonna
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: need somebody's health. But to start, oftentimes you just need yourself.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: Start the process. God will show you the way. He
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: really will. He always has. I say this often to people,
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: God will get you through. For everybody's listening right now,
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: Name one thing that God hasn't gotten you through. And
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: if He hasn't gotten you through it, he's currently pulling
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: you through it right now. And you know how I
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: know because you're listening to the radio. How you listening
- 1:34:09Speaker 1: to the radio. It's because he's pulling you through something
- 1:34:13Speaker 1: right now. He's gotten you through all the other stuff,
- 1:34:18Speaker 1: but he's pulling you through right now. If you start
- 1:34:22Speaker 1: the process, God will pull you through. But you'll never
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: know until you start. Make twenty eighteen the year starting
- 1:34:34Speaker 1: something great in your life. Start, start something great. Don't
- 1:34:40Speaker 1: participate in no mess this year. Stay out of mess.
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: You know what mess is. Mess looks like it ain't right,
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: it don't feel good, it don't sound good. It's mess.
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: Stay out of mess this year. Remove yourself from messy
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: situations so you can move in the right direction. Start
