- 0:44Gaza war right now. And there's a lot of varied
- 0:48opinions on the politics of this.
- 0:50There's a lot of varied opinions on what's happening.
- 0:52My guest is Tomer Peretz. He is a artist from Los Angeles,

- 1:00He is a father and husbands. And he happened to be in Israel
- 1:03for personal reasons during the time of October 7th.
- 1:06And Tomar Perez was one of the first responders with ZAKA, a
- 1:09volunteer organization to find the bodies of the dead in the
- 1:13massacre, both the dead Israelis and the terrorists to find them
- 1:18and to give them a proper burial.
- 1:20So you will hear in this his first hand account as well as
- 1:24his view of the events that are unfolding.

- 2:53Tomer Perez, thank you so much for joining the podcast.
- 2:56Thank you for having me. So I've been I've been following
- 2:59your Instagram account now for several weeks when I first found
- 3:03out about it. So first, for the folks
- 3:06listening, introduce yourself. You're an award-winning artist
- 3:08from Los Angeles and give us some of your background.
- 3:12Yeah, I'm, I'm a I'm a husband and a father and I have 3 kids.
- 3:17Awesome. I've been.
- 3:19I grew up in Israel until the age of 22.
- 3:25I was in the military for 4 1/2 years and I moved to Los Angeles
- 3:31to pursue my art career and I've been doing that for the past
- 3:351819 years alongside raising a family and and yeah, everything
- 3:42was amazing up until October 7th.
- 3:45You know that flipped all of our life over.
- 3:48You. You were in Israel on October
- 3:517th. Why were you?
- 3:52Why were you in Israel then? So I went to attend a wedding
- 3:56with my cousin and I took my two young boys like for like an
- 4:02extra fun boys trip. My my son Roy, he broke his
- 4:08elbow during the summer and he couldn't get into the ocean or
- 4:11swimming pools. So it was a great opportunity
- 4:13for him to take advantage on this trip and have fun.
- 4:19So I took Zevi is five years old and Roy, he's 9, and we had
- 4:25amazing time up until October 7th.
- 4:28So tell me about the morning of October 7th.
- 4:32When did you first hear or find out something was wrong?
- 4:35I was. And where were you we?
- 4:37Were in my name in Tel Aviv, we had amazing Airbnb apartment by
- 4:45the ocean walk walking distance and on Friday we were on the
- 4:51beach with my friends from the military time.
- 4:55And it's funny. So it was so ironically that we
- 4:57spoke about Gaza on Friday and the time we served together.
- 5:01And then on Saturday morning, I woke up into the sirens.
- 5:07The alarm went off. And right away when I opened my
- 5:10eyes, I'm like, Oh my God, I'm in Tel Aviv and alarm went off.
- 5:14This is on unusual. I pulled up my phone right away
- 5:18through, you know, I I ran to the safe room.
- 5:23Obviously my two young boys, Roy and Z were there with their
- 5:27iPads already and my nephew also was with us that night he slept
- 5:31over. So I'm like, hey, like you you
- 5:35guys here, it's the line went off.
- 5:38So my son that is didn't even both of my kids didn't even look
- 5:41at me. Only my nephew who lives in
- 5:43Jerusalem looking at me was like, yeah, I told her what's
- 5:49what's going on? I'm like, so I guess there was a
- 5:53terrorist attack in South of Israel and some terrorists
- 5:55infiltrated into Israel. Then my middle son raises hat
- 6:00above the eye, but he's like that.
- 6:02What's a terrorist? Wow.
- 6:04And then I just like, I'm like, OK, I forgot.
- 6:08I'm talking to A5 and nine years old who they don't even they
- 6:13never heard those words at home. Never growing up in LA, growing
- 6:18up in LA, they he doesn't even understand what is that mean?
- 6:21So I don't even know how to explain the definition of it.
- 6:26It's like, so I got stuck and I'm like, I could never mind,
- 6:30just go back to your iPad or just enjoy your game.
- 6:34That's the moment when I realized that I as of right now,
- 6:37I'm going to lie about everything until I will know how
- 6:41to explain it and took that away.
- 6:46And like everybody else, we were home that day and I was, you
- 6:49know, I all of my friends from the military, after a few hours
- 6:53already, some of them they drove down N like they so I, I was
- 6:57serving in, in, in, in Golani and, and before I was a special
- 7:01ground forces inside of the Golani.
- 7:03So it's it's a very high ranked unit, but they going to be
- 7:08probably the first people going to get a call if something
- 7:10happened. So everybody went on uniform and
- 7:16I was one of the funny friends that came to visit from other
- 7:20country and watching the news. So that was the moment when I
- 7:24felt that I I needed to do something.
- 7:27So I texted every person I know in Israel.
- 7:30How can I help with the beginning of the war?
- 7:32It was already a few hours and the first people who got back to
- 7:35me were friends from Zaka. What is Zaka?
- 7:41So Zakah is a nonprofit organization that specializing
- 7:47with rescue in the clearing, evacuating dead bodies to bring
- 7:54them to respectful religious Jewish barrier.
- 7:59So I know Zakah from the 90s in Jerusalem.
- 8:07I, I was around the terrorist attacked in a restaurant Sparrow
- 8:13in Jerusalem. It was in the 90s and, and I
- 8:18remember the, the talk about them that they're scratching
- 8:23body parts from explosions in order to bring the body parts
- 8:28into, to bury those, those parts, I guess by the Jewish
- 8:32religion, we need to bury, we, we bury everything.
- 8:35The, the blood stains the body parts, the, the, the ashes, if
- 8:40there is ashes. And so that's their job.
- 8:43This is what they do and they do it the full fully volunteer with
- 8:50no salary, payment or fame. So it's kind of like a work of
- 8:56mercy. It's a it's a special ministry.
- 8:59It's, you know, from some reason I have a hard time and it's kind
- 9:05of said I have a hard time to describe these people because
- 9:07it's the most pure, pure, holy people that I've ever seen in my
- 9:14life that do this thing from the sake of the mitzvah.
- 9:18And they understand that most people cannot do it and they
- 9:23understand how important is it. So they do it with quietly not
- 9:32talking around and in a very quietly, like nobody knew who
- 9:41are them unless you live in Jerusalem or in Israel.
- 9:45And by the way, they don't operate only in Israel.
- 9:47They operate all around the world.
- 9:49They have an international team. That was, by the way, that was
- 9:53the friend who brought me in. He's in the international team.
- 9:56So the guy was saving life in Turkey, saving life in Ukraine.
- 10:03He saved lives in Haiti after the earthquake.
- 10:07After that, they went to the tsunami in Thailand years ago.
- 10:12They, they, they're, they're going to every disaster around
- 10:17the world to save lives, basically, and, and, and take
- 10:20care of dead bodies to get them to bury, even if they're not
- 10:23Jewish. So Zakah doesn't operate only in
- 10:27Israel, so. So you heard back from your
- 10:31friend who was part of Zaka that that day of October 7th.
- 10:36What happened next? He, he called me like as soon as
- 10:40he saw the text, he called me very quick.
- 10:44You're like, hey, I didn't know you're here.
- 10:45Da da da. I want to see you.
- 10:48But see, it's like crazy that I'm like, bro, I want to go
- 10:53like, take me. I, I, I can't sit at home.
- 10:56Like, listen, Tomar, you know, it's, it's, it's not something
- 10:59we can do. I'm like, yes, you can.
- 11:01I know who are you? I know you can't do it.
- 11:03And he just didn't argue with me.
- 11:05And, and they picked me up the day after.
- 11:07And let me tell you something. No one, no one could volunteer
- 11:14to Zaka just like that at the beginning of a war.
- 11:18It doesn't work like that. I don't know.
- 11:21I think they really needed help that moment and it was chaotic.
- 11:27So, so I think they just OK, come, just help us.
- 11:33And they picked me up on Monday morning already.
- 11:37Before getting into the events of what you saw when you started
- 11:40to volunteer with Zaka in the South of Israel, you made this
- 11:43comment earlier about the safe room.
- 11:45And this. Is anyone listening to the
- 11:47reports about Israelis, you know, running from rocket fire
- 11:50from Hamas, they hear about safe rooms.
- 11:53Can you explain what the safe room is?
- 11:56And it sounds like the nephew you had, he's used to going to
- 11:59the safe room. Is this a part of everyday life
- 12:01for Israelis? So it depends what part in
- 12:05Israel you live in. So the people who lives in the
- 12:07South, they're daily basis, it's like they're so used to it, the
- 12:12kids and babies like older people, everybody knows and they
- 12:17jump into the safe room on seriously weekly basis.
- 12:20But not if you live in Jerusalem.
- 12:24Jerusalem don't have those alarms because because the
- 12:28Rockets that basically are firing from Gaza, most of them
- 12:33are reaching the South part of Israel.
- 12:35Most of them depend what rocket is it, depend how aggressive
- 12:39they want to go. The Hamas seiform is a room in
- 12:44every house and building and neighborhoods around the entire
- 12:49country that Israel invested to build for the citizens in order
- 12:55to protect the citizens from bombs, rockets, anything.
- 12:59So a safe room is built from concrete, I guess.
- 13:02Still I'm I don't know, but it built to protect you from from
- 13:08bombing in certain level and that's the room where you run
- 13:15into when you get the call, there is an A that every person
- 13:20is really connected to. So you get the alarm on the
- 13:23phone and you hear it outside, but in probably in some parts
- 13:27you don't hear it outside on the street.
- 13:28So you, you get it on your phone.
- 13:30Everybody in Israel, actually, most of the people I, I, I saw,
- 13:33they get it on their phone and they kind of threw the phone.
- 13:36They, they, they know where to go then and they know where is
- 13:39the actual rockets are going to because the app is telling you S
- 13:43North middle this the DCD or DCD will.
- 13:46So when the alarm goes off, you connect it to the phone and it
- 13:51tells you what part of the the country should go into the safe
- 13:57room. So my my nephew was not used to
- 14:00it. It was very new to him,
- 14:02actually. Because he was in the north or
- 14:05near. He lives in, he, he lives in
- 14:08Jerusalem. That's where my brother lives.
- 14:10So he with his family that live in Jerusalem.
- 14:12I was in Tel Aviv with him, which is 45 minutes away from
- 14:15Jerusalem up north and and and the Rockets were firing also to
- 14:23Jerusalem I think. I think don't quote me on this
- 14:27one first time. And Tel Aviv the like a big part
- 14:32of Israel on October 7th, big part of mid Israel century
- 14:37Israel in the South got attacked by those rockets and up north
- 14:43got attacked by the Hezbollah from Lebanon.
- 14:48Hezbollah took over South of Lebanon years ago and they
- 14:52fired. So I would say maybe the entire
- 14:58is right was in safe rooms that moment, but he was he didn't
- 15:02know what's going on. He knew about that.
- 15:04He understanded, but he never experienced that.
- 15:08So I think he was the only person who was afraid because my
- 15:12my kids had no idea what that what is it?
- 15:16It's like didn't even think about that.
- 15:21So he was on it like he understand everything.
- 15:26So the day that you first volunteer with Saka is that
- 15:29Sunday the 9th, Monday, Monday the Monday the 9th.
- 15:32Monday, so Saturday we were stayed a whole day in Tel Aviv
- 15:35and then Sunday morning we decide to leave the Airbnb
- 15:39apartment and go to my parents and my parents in law who are in
- 15:44Jerusalem. And and that was a time when I
- 15:50was like expecting already to jump on a car to go help some,
- 15:54somewhere. I even checked to go into
- 16:00reserve out on the reserve since the military from PTSD reasons
- 16:05then because I left Israel but I wanted to do anything and they
- 16:11could pick me up only on Monday morning.
- 16:14So what happened on Monday morning?
- 16:15Where did you go first? So Monday morning I was like 78
- 16:20AM and they picked me up from Jerusalem.
- 16:23I got, I jumped into the car, they were on the phones already.
- 16:26They drove fast. They got the first operation for
- 16:30it. It's called Eagle Team, so 7th
- 16:35Nesher, it's that, that's the name of the team that I was
- 16:38belonged to. And the first operation was to
- 16:41go to the Nova site and pick up all the stretchers that was that
- 16:48were left on site from Saturday. And they said we cleared out all
- 16:55the the Jewish dead body from the site area and, and just pick
- 17:01up the stretchers and come back to kibbutzberry because now we
- 17:04are starting to clear out kibbutzberry from the dead from
- 17:07the dead bodies. And that's what we did.
- 17:10And I 15 minutes before we arrived, everybody pulled up
- 17:17their guns and they were ready for attack because rockets were
- 17:21firing on top of us like the whole time, the whole time.
- 17:24And we were like every few minutes we're getting out of
- 17:27car, hiding, went back with the car, keep driving, booming out
- 17:31of rocket, going outside, hiding.
- 17:33So it's like a continuation of the whole week.
- 17:36It was like that for me even up until now.
- 17:39I was there the whole week, so and then we picked up the
- 17:47equipment from the Nova Festival, which that was, that
- 17:51was the moment when I understand that mentally, physically, I'm
- 17:57in war zone. What did you see when you first
- 18:00got there? So we drove on 232, We called
- 18:05that the Death Rd. That's the main road where all
- 18:09the Nova Nova people want wanted to run away from.
- 18:17That was the only Rd. that you can you can drive and that that
- 18:21road was blocked by the Hamas and they firing they fired RPGs
- 18:26on every single car there. So I, the first thing I saw was
- 18:33burned, completely burned cars after explosions, hundreds, 100,
- 18:41not like 4-5, like every car and car were flipped and car were
- 18:48like, like like got into accidents.
- 18:51Both of them burns. It's like a lot of weird, like
- 18:55what happened to those cars? You know, it's the first
- 18:57question that came to my mind. I'm like, you hear about a
- 19:00massacre and when you hear about a massacre, you think about like
- 19:04a mass shooter, right? Mass shooter or AK-40 said
- 19:06whatever, right? I'm just shooting everybody.
- 19:08That was not the case. They were firing grenades, RPG,
- 19:14Lao rockets, which is a shoulder, rockets, Different
- 19:20different, bigger machine guns, bigger things than just a rifle.
- 19:25And there were people in those cars.
- 19:28Yeah, people. No, not soldiers, people like
- 19:32people that went to dense celebrate Peace of Love Nova
- 19:38Festival for over 4000 people, young, 20 years old, 30 years
- 19:48old. And when I got there, you know
- 19:55the tanks because we already were in the world.
- 19:58So the tanks created the dust. And the dust is like covering
- 20:01your, your, your vision. So there is no sky.
- 20:04You don't see the sky. You see only orange, foggy,
- 20:08dusty. Background and you see the birds
- 20:15are looking for like the cross are flying and looking for the
- 20:21dead bodies and they're saying you see where the birds are
- 20:26going probably there is a dead body over here and we got into
- 20:30the festival site and you see Hamas dead bodies like and bunch
- 20:36of places with full uniform. The military didn't even remove
- 20:41the explosive grenades and RPG rockets from them.
- 20:45So you you see the complete package in front of you and they
- 20:49were full weapons on them. It's like they're they're
- 20:54they're about to conquer they're about to fight with the Secret
- 20:58Service or whatever and they were actually fighting fighting.
- 21:02They were actually killed kids who went to dance.
- 21:05So he doesn't match like he doesn't like you know like all
- 21:11vast and and a bunch of grenades and everything they were laying
- 21:14down all over. So when we picked up the
- 21:17stretchers we were walking in between grenades and and RPG
- 21:21rockets super dangerous by the way the military clear it out
- 21:24same day, but it's a war zone. It's it's that's what's up.
- 21:29And the smell was, you know, all of your senses.
- 21:37It's like, what do you hear and see and and smell?
- 21:40It's like all got into a package of the weird Mad Max war zone.
- 21:50And I will assure 100% that we're starting at the end of the
- 21:55world. That moment.
- 21:57I was OK, I get it. It's over.
- 22:01That's that's what was in my mind.
- 22:04What's over? The world, it's over, it's done.
- 22:07That's that's, that's the visual I had.
- 22:10Everything is, it's done. Because if this could happen to
- 22:14these kids. Because, because, because the
- 22:18way it looks like, like if you type and I didn't do it right,
- 22:26if you're going to type the end of the world visual on Google,
- 22:31I'm assuming you're going to see some stuff very similar to the
- 22:34couple apocalyptic visual photo I had in front of my face.
- 22:38And, and alongside with this, you get, you know, you're on
- 22:42your front all the time. So you get a lot of text
- 22:43message, you telegram and this and this and you and you, you
- 22:47know, you realize how crazy it is and you're there.
- 22:52So, so that was very weird, surreal experience.
- 23:05Then we got to Kibbutz Berry and.
- 23:07How many young people died at the Nova festival killed by
- 23:10Hamas terrorists? A few hundreds, I don't know.
- 23:13I, I'll be honest with you, I have a hard time watching the
- 23:17news. I have a hard time reading
- 23:19articles. I have a hard time listening to
- 23:23testimonies. I'm, I'm in my own bubble.
- 23:26And these were, you know, I I'm sure you probably know a lot
- 23:30more than me, but few 103400I again, I might be wrong.
- 23:36Yeah. So after the Nova Festival,
- 23:39you're picking up stretchers. Most of the dead Israelis and
- 23:43the young people have been cleared out.
- 23:45There's still dead terrorists everywhere.
- 23:47Where do you go next? Yeah, we picked up the
- 23:50stretchers that were soaked with blood.
- 23:53Driving to Kibbutz Berry, 5 minutes, right?
- 23:587 minutes, right. As soon as we got there, it was
- 24:03a lot of ZACA members, like maybe 4050 of them.
- 24:06And we got divided to teams and every team is assigned to
- 24:10different area and now different house.
- 24:15And the military is showing you what house you get and what
- 24:18house you are clearing out dead bodies from.
- 24:22And these are dead bodies of civilians?
- 24:24Yes. What did you see first?
- 24:28A lady, she was your size. She had no face.
- 24:45Maybe she got shot in her face maybe 20 times.
- 24:52It's hard to tell. I just like I'm assuming whoever
- 24:55shot her and made sure that her face will never be shown like no
- 25:00face that was actually a house I was not assigned to but I I went
- 25:11with them. Someone asked help to open some
- 25:16some door that had a hard time to open.
- 25:19But when I got there to help the door was open and they already
- 25:21took out like they they were already clearing it out.
- 25:25So I I got the the chance to see it and then I went to another
- 25:31house that I was actually clearing out the lady.
- 25:36She was over 90 again, I'm assuming over 80 / 90.
- 25:44And she gets stabbed so many times I don't know how many
- 25:50times but so many times. And I thought she got shot and I
- 25:54and I said when we did, Oh my God, she got shot.
- 25:57And then and then some other guy said, no, I don't think she got
- 26:01shot. I think she got stabbed.
- 26:02And whoever shot didn't, didn't they didn't they shot.
- 26:07But you see the bullets, the bullets on the wall.
- 26:11So, so we were like trying to understand what happened, just
- 26:16full of blood all over. Her.
- 26:18Where was she? She was on bed.
- 26:21She was on her bed. Actually it was the only dead
- 26:25body that we cleared out from the bed.
- 26:32And then so a couple took of took a couple that were in the
- 26:38entrance of the house. I don't know how to describe it,
- 26:44but the skin was not a skin part of the body.
- 26:49Both of them were burnt, lot of cuts.
- 26:56The house was a mess like a mess like every.
- 27:03Everything in a house was was in a mess, like everything, all the
- 27:08kitchen doors, the closets, like someone was looking for
- 27:13something like aggressively like like in everything was broken.
- 27:17Everything was broken in house. Like they were looking for other
- 27:20people. Looking for other people broke
- 27:22it, but in purpose, like some like like like there is no
- 27:25reason to break ATV. You know what I'm saying?
- 27:28Like like like a lamp, you know things that why it's broken.
- 27:38So again, I don't know it it it, but most houses were like that.
- 27:45The couple you saw at the doorstep, how old were they, do
- 27:47you think? Is there any way to tell?
- 27:5030. A young couple and did they look
- 27:54like when you say their skin wasn't like their skin?
- 27:56They were tied together with their backs like both of their
- 28:00backs tied together like they tied their hands to together and
- 28:06she had bullets on her shoulder back him.
- 28:13I didn't I, I couldn't I couldn't understand what's
- 28:15what's what's up with him. I didn't really touch him.
- 28:19OK, so I was I was always the last one who's getting into the
- 28:27house and always looked for the legs parts from I don't know.
- 28:37It just worked for me better. I guess I was too coward to go
- 28:41straight to the face because you need to roll the body from the
- 28:44top and from the bottom into the plastic bag that you put on the
- 28:48floor. So you need to roll it a little
- 28:51bit because you you kind of lift the the part, the body and, and
- 28:56you squeeze the bag underneath and then you kind of you kind of
- 28:59all roll it or just squeezing all the bag and then you put the
- 29:02bag like around. So I was always picking the the
- 29:10bottom part because when you pick the bottom part you you can
- 29:14I was with also with these hat by the way looking and and not
- 29:19like only on my thing and not to see the the the face.
- 29:25What did the other volunteers you were think they've been tied
- 29:28together? Was the sense that they had been
- 29:30tied together while they were alive and then tortured?
- 29:33What was the sense of the other volunteers?
- 29:36Always different, different talks.
- 29:38They had a lot of experience that people that was with they
- 29:42they work very fast they and very gentle.
- 29:49They know how to look at things, but it's not their job.
- 29:54Like they oh, that's a stab or this is a torture or that's a
- 29:57burn. No, this is this.
- 29:59So they they talk while we are doing this.
- 30:02This is the this is actually the conversation.
- 30:05What happened? And yeah, some of them were
- 30:12young guys, 30 something, and some of them were older, like
- 30:1850-60 something. And they were shocked.
- 30:25Even the 60 plus years old that they do that four years, 3040,
- 30:30they clear out dead bodies. That's this is their thing.
- 30:34You know, every tale always attacked.
- 30:35They're showing up to clear out those dead bodies.
- 30:38And they say that this is this is out of this world.
- 30:45It's not something they've ever seen.
- 30:50So this volunteer, some of them had been working 30-40 years and
- 30:53they'd never seen anything. Collapse and passing out and
- 30:56throwing up and responding to it in a very shocking way.
- 31:03They had seen everything, but no, not this.
- 31:05Not this, I don't. I don't know if there is a lot
- 31:11of people in this glob that have seen stuff like that.
- 31:16So was that the sense that like this couple, this 30 year old
- 31:18couple at their doorstep tied together with burn Marks and
- 31:23bullet Marks and just attacks to their body, was the sense that
- 31:28they were alive and tortured? That's how it looked like, you
- 31:40know, you trying to attach the story.
- 31:49The story is there, by the way, like people know what happened
- 31:52to them. I guess I have a hard time to
- 31:56match the real stories to the people I I know, to the people I
- 32:00recognized because all the faces that I've seen still in my in my
- 32:06head. And I don't want to go to the
- 32:08list of name and pictures in the story of what happened and where
- 32:12it was and who was it. This is my biggest challenge.
- 32:19Did you see anyone else that you helped retrieve the bodies of in
- 32:24that kibbutz? I've seen a lot more.
- 32:27Were there any children? Yeah, yeah, I lifted a burned
- 32:32baby that was picked up from one of the houses.
- 32:38I remember when he when he gave me the bag because, OK, he, he
- 32:45gave me the bag because he was supposed to set like a a little,
- 32:50it's like a bassinet on the wheel.
- 32:52So the key boots to put the baby.
- 32:55I hold it and they brought another baby.
- 32:57So both of them and, and, and like a stroller.
- 32:59It's like a so when he said that like something was stuck.
- 33:03So he was like kind of dealing with that.
- 33:05He was like, hold it, please. He didn't want to put it on the
- 33:07floor. So hold it and then I hold that
- 33:09and then he took care of it and I'm holding and you know, I, OK,
- 33:16I got the point. It's a baby.
- 33:19But it was so light. It was, it was so light.
- 33:25It was like not the weight of a baby.
- 33:27It was much lighter than that. And I gave it to him.
- 33:32As soon as I give it to him, he's like, and he was like very
- 33:35heavily breathing burn baby. He's like he said a few times
- 33:40and he put it in the bassinet and then they brought it out a
- 33:43baby and it was like, I'm just, I was looking.
- 33:52I don't know how I felt, but I remember that I didn't move a
- 33:55lot. And yeah, those are the only
- 34:03connection. I'm sorry.
- 34:04One more I had with with babies in the and the bags and
- 34:10everything. And I had one more actually,
- 34:12where we were supposed to look for kids.
- 34:16We were supposed to look for babies and and any other body
- 34:19parts. And we found something and that
- 34:25was completely burned completely and you cannot even recognize
- 34:28what is it? It's it.
- 34:29It looked like like a plus Selena like like a weird figure.
- 34:42And I was the fifth one who got into this house and and I
- 34:47already heard him. It's a dog.
- 34:50No, it's not No, it's a butt. No, it's a leg.
- 34:52No, it's a baby. No, it's like they were Hawking
- 34:56and I got out of the house. I just at the house and I don't
- 35:05know up until now what was it And I, I didn't want to ask and
- 35:10I told him maybe not to share it with me.
- 35:14So that's the only experiences I had with the babies in Kibbutz
- 35:20Berry. But I was with the team who
- 35:22cleared out my team more babies the day before, the evening
- 35:29before and after me. So.
- 35:36Had they all been burned? The two I've seen and I know
- 35:42some were not. I know some were not beheaded
- 35:48and some were beheaded. I don't know how many were
- 35:52beheaded. Some were beheaded.
- 35:53Yeah, some were beheaded. Absolutely, absolutely.
- 35:56Because we, we were, we were assigned to find not just
- 35:59beheaded like other body parts too.
- 36:02So we, we were supposed to go and find other body parts and
- 36:06certain houses that they found I guess most of the body, but they
- 36:10are looking for more body parts. So so we we were trying to find
- 36:16and every house that I was supposed to look for something.
- 36:23I I always had the hope not to find anything.
- 36:30And also with these babies body parts that they wanted to find.
- 36:35I didn't find anything. But I know that the teams, other
- 36:40teams, they invested a lot more time on the search than me.
- 36:47I was and purpose not a good searcher I guess maybe.
- 36:59When you saw the bags with the burn babies in them, was there
- 37:04any sense of how the burning happened?
- 37:07There's I've heard reports that the terrorists lit the homes on
- 37:10fire while the families were in their safe rooms in order to
- 37:14force them to leave or to kill them and burn them alive.
- 37:18I've also heard reports that they torched some intentionally.
- 37:21Was there any sense among the volunteers of how the burning
- 37:24took place? I don't know.
- 37:28There was also a report that was shared, and I don't know if
- 37:32you've heard this one, so I want to see if you had any
- 37:34information on it about a baby that had been placed in an oven.
- 37:38Yeah. And killed by being burned alive
- 37:40in an oven. I've I've heard that I didn't
- 37:44see it from the reality I was it was very make sense that it will
- 37:52do it. I was not surprised.
- 37:56I I I was trying the whole time up until now to disconnect to
- 38:04the get disconnected from the stories of what really happened.
- 38:13I the whole time I I I hear always I heard always a
- 38:19different, but stories not about Oh, I've hurt someone put the
- 38:24baby. No, no, no, Oh, I just got a
- 38:25text from this is the conversation.
- 38:28She just got a got a text from Moti.
- 38:30Moti said that there is a lady that both of her legs got cut
- 38:34out and there is a team on that like like it's a live live
- 38:38reporting the reporting. I'm familiar with a reporting of
- 38:42the person who found the lady or the baby and tell the other team
- 38:47to come to help. That's the type of reporting I'm
- 38:49familiar with. Most people feel familiar with
- 38:52reporting on TV, on the news channel, social media, Telegram.
- 38:57So I'm not there. I am not reading articles, I'm
- 39:02not watching a lot of the news, some social media.
- 39:07I get all of my information from my friends and only if I ask.
- 39:15And when I was there, it just came.
- 39:17It just was all around. So I know about some reports.
- 39:25I, but I, I, I, I, I don't know what's what's what happened in
- 39:32every corner. I can just tell you that what
- 39:37was there was not human thing. It was not humans.
- 39:43I don't know what was. What do you mean?
- 39:45It was not human. It was to to to burn a baby.
- 39:53How they burn the babies? I don't know if they burned the,
- 39:56the the babies where it wasn't in bedroom or if they if they
- 40:04burned the babies in the front of the parents.
- 40:07If they I, I, I don't know because, because.
- 40:11Some of the kids that were found was burned, but the parents were
- 40:14not so. So some of the kids that were
- 40:18found were in their homes were burned, but the parents.
- 40:22Were not and the opposite too. So, so, so it's very surreal to
- 40:33even try to understand what was there and what was the case.
- 40:38They had many hours that they were there with them, so they
- 40:43were with them inside the houses full of ours.
- 40:45The terrorists were. Terrorists.
- 40:47The Israeli members of the kibbutz for hours, Families with
- 40:52babies, elderlies, young couples.
- 40:55Yeah, one house, you see all the food even was still on a table
- 40:59like like was a table with bunch of food and kind of kind of not
- 41:03on the plate. Like it's like scattered like,
- 41:06like like a monster got there and, and was trying to eat and,
- 41:10and it looks like the the chairs are away from the table, so it
- 41:14looks like people were sitting there.
- 41:18So all kinds of weird things. Most maybe every house I got
- 41:28into had a bunch of spots of bullets of like bullet shots and
- 41:37and a sharpness of of RPG rocket and grenades.
- 41:45So you see the sign of of bottle in houses inside the houses in
- 41:51the kids bedrooms, you see stain of of marks of of hands and
- 42:01blood on the walls. But small hands like like small.
- 42:06You saw in kids bedrooms bullets and small bloody hand pressure.
- 42:11So kids bedroom soaked with the furniture and mattresses soaked
- 42:15with bad one situation when I got into a kids bedroom that a
- 42:18the three bed, one bank bed. It's a three beds, one bank bed
- 42:22and one just by itself small like a bed of like anywhere two
- 42:29to four years old size bed, right and soaked with blood,
- 42:36blood all over. And and and one of them I found
- 42:41a dog was a black lab. And I remember I it was a kids
- 42:47bathroom and all the kids were I guess the babies or the kids
- 42:51were, I guess be picked up and we were, we were looking for,
- 42:56that's where we're looking for other body parts that I found
- 43:01saw a dog like a black lab sitting on laying on, on a bed.
- 43:05And it was kind of shaking the dog alive, alive.
- 43:09Yeah, it was alive. It was shaking and breathing.
- 43:13And I, and I was, I was kind of getting closer and, and it was a
- 43:20moment when I am, I am like he probably saw what happened and
- 43:26he was hiding somewhere and saw what happened.
- 43:29And I tear down when I when I when I saw it, it was.
- 43:38It was the only live thing we found, basically.
- 43:45A dog. A dog and.
- 43:48In a village of hundreds of people.
- 43:51Yeah, a lot of them being evacuated.
- 43:54We just got there. We knew we're not going to find
- 43:59anything and everybody like we, we knew it's about dead people,
- 44:04not about live people and saving live people.
- 44:06But but it's like you, it's the it's it's the only thing that
- 44:11was alive during the massacre. Probably saw everything and
- 44:15stayed alive at the we saw, you know what I'm saying?
- 44:19And I was afraid to get too close to him.
- 44:23And though I'm, I'm, I'm a dog person, have a big dog and I'm
- 44:26very cool with dogs. I, I kind of got closer to him,
- 44:30but very, very slowly. And then and others like a guy
- 44:33was like easily getting close to the door.
- 44:36Boom, hold the dog, hold him, lift him, kissed him and the dog
- 44:41licked him in his face and he took him out.
- 44:44And then the guys from Okus, which is a special unit that
- 44:54using dogs to help to find explosive and stuff like that,
- 44:57amazing unit by the way. And they know how to deal with a
- 45:00dog and they're amazing. And they brought him food and he
- 45:03was eating. And so that was pretty much the
- 45:11only live thing we found. Tomer, what else did you see in
- 45:16the kibbutz? And we had a moment where a lot
- 45:23of another another dude with no fingers and the safe room was
- 45:305050 years old. So his body was intact, except
- 45:34he had no fingers. He died from they knew by the
- 45:41way, about his situation from somewhere.
- 45:45I don't know how the entire safe room was black from smoke and
- 45:53blood that blood all over blood all over.
- 45:58And they say that they cut his fingers, but he could manage to
- 46:03run away and locked himself inside the safe room and, and,
- 46:14and he died from smoke. So what they do, they all the
- 46:18safe rooms they couldn't get into, they burned the whole
- 46:22house around and they put tires, they burned tires from around
- 46:27the Kibbuzz. They got tires and they burned
- 46:29for the smoke to go inside the safe room.
- 46:32So a lot of people died inside the safe room from breathing
- 46:37smoke. A lot.
- 46:38Some that we cleared out. So this man, I know these things
- 46:44are so hard to even wrap one's mind around, but this man was a
- 46:48middle-aged man. He was found without any
- 46:51fingers. I think was maybe 2 left over
- 46:55there I was. I was not really seeing the
- 46:58whole arms. And he was found dead in the
- 47:01safe room from smoke inhalation. But it was after his fingers had
- 47:05been chopped off. And so the theory is they must
- 47:09have chopped his fingers, he escaped them and then they.
- 47:12That was the story. Asphyxiated.
- 47:14Him and they so so here is here's the thing.
- 47:18They looked for him. They they looked for him, the
- 47:23Zakah guys, they got information about a person that in the safe
- 47:28room and the information and that he died in the safe room.
- 47:31So we need to find a safe room. It took us over maybe an hour to
- 47:36find a safe room because the whole house was kind of a mess
- 47:39and collapse, like the ceiling was collapsing and the collapse
- 47:42and and it was very hard to find a door.
- 47:45So from my understanding, and that's what they're saying that
- 47:50this guy, he knows a lot about safe rooms and stuff that he
- 47:55knows how to fight. Also, it was very they called
- 47:59him a hero and that he built his own safe room.
- 48:03And I, I guess the family that was with him, I guess on the
- 48:08phone or something from the safe room that they say that I guess
- 48:16they gave the information somehow to the military, the
- 48:19military to Zaca and the safe room was hidden.
- 48:22And then that's why it took a while to find a safe room.
- 48:26I got to the part where everything was done and just to
- 48:30put the body, that bag on the actual stretcher, but his face
- 48:35was exposed. I remember his face and yeah, I
- 48:43had AI had a moment when the cooling truck was a chocolate
- 48:53cooling truck that we used to carry all the dead bodies.
- 49:00We drove all the dead bodies from Kibbutz Berry to the
- 49:06pathological institute basically.
- 49:08So we filled up the truck and I remember we I was with few
- 49:13friends over there. We smoke a cigarette and then
- 49:15some of the guys said, OK, so we need to take pictures of all the
- 49:20Zakah is asking pictures of all the dead bodies and I'm I'm, I'm
- 49:25we don't have all the pictures and I OK, so what's the call to
- 49:32action? Like I was kind of waiting like,
- 49:34OK, we need to take photos of all the buddies.
- 49:36So, so I was talking to my friends, the guys like, so
- 49:42what's, what are we doing? Oh, we just need to go open all
- 49:44the bags and take photos of all the dead bodies.
- 49:47So we just went there, open all the bags.
- 49:51How many bags? 60 maybe, maybe 60.
- 49:55And women and children. Everything.
- 49:58Everything mostly. Mostly maybe 3 bags of Childs
- 50:05but but it was a lot of bags with parts.
- 50:13Now it's not a conversation I got into, but how do they know
- 50:21what part belong to what when it's completely burnt?
- 50:25And the bags of parts that all these parts, are these blown up
- 50:31from a grenade? Are these Hacked Off
- 50:35intentionally? I mean, again, what was the
- 50:36conversation on the ground like? Torture burned them alive.
- 50:45Some of them Different, different every every dead body
- 50:56had looked like it. It had a whole full story.
- 51:04Had one lady that I pulled out of from a Bush, like a Bush like
- 51:09it the size of the stable and she was maybe 40 maybe.
- 51:18I don't know a whole like here a hole like in the eye just like
- 51:28just a hole. Super weird.
- 51:33Like from a gun. From, from, from a gun, but it
- 51:36was a big hole. It was a big hole.
- 51:38So I don't know what makes that kind of a hole.
- 51:43I, I, I hard to tell. Very hard to tell.
- 51:52She was inside the Bush, like she was hiding there.
- 51:55And I pulled her out, put her in a bag.
- 52:12Yeah, yeah, One of the burn people in to pick up their ashes
- 52:18too. So when you put them in a bag,
- 52:19you need to clean the ashes from the floor.
- 52:23And super weird. Somewhere.
- 52:27Did you or any other Zaka volunteers you were with at the
- 52:30kibbutz that day see any evidence of rape?
- 52:33Or did you hear about any evidence of rape?
- 52:36So the couple that we we picked up.
- 52:46The one tied together. I've heard that they wrecked
- 52:48raped the lady before in front of her husband before they
- 52:52killed her. I'm not.
- 52:58I was not very touchy with the dead bodies, but my nachman was
- 53:06very and shame on they were very touchy.
- 53:12You meaning examining the bodies.
- 53:14Touchy like they, they, they touch, they, they, they, you
- 53:17know, they, they, they did the job, right.
- 53:21You know, they figured out a lot of things and they got a lot of
- 53:27information from the military about certain things that
- 53:31happened, about things that they know that happened, like footage
- 53:35from, from cameras and stuff like that.
- 53:37And they got the information. And I didn't get this
- 53:40information. So I was very, I was the rookie
- 53:42who is not connected to their, their communication.
- 53:47And so I was always hearing the stories and always filtering
- 53:53where I want to be closer to what than what I want to listen
- 53:56to and what I don't want to listen to.
- 53:57It was very difficult to, I think, I think that the idea of
- 54:08not knowing helped me a lot. So it because it was very
- 54:13difficult to when, when you, when you know the story about
- 54:18the person, it's much harder. So I, I don't know all the
- 54:29stories about what happened to them.
- 54:31I was very, you know, holding the leg, putting the bag.
- 54:38Very, I took it in very technical way.
- 54:42I didn't want to leave and say I cannot do it, want to go, you
- 54:50know, I wanted to show off and, and, and make sure that they're
- 54:54trusting me and they are helping in a way, you know, like they
- 54:59didn't want to be a coward even though I was felt like a coward,
- 55:02but I didn't want to be a coward when I was working with them,
- 55:04so. So to handle all that, that
- 55:07chaos and death that you walked into, in a way you had to
- 55:10compartmentalize. I was closing a lot of my eyes
- 55:14and I, I was hiding, but I did this because I wanted to work
- 55:18with them. I really wanted to help and I
- 55:22documented everything and that was was another layer to the
- 55:24whole thing. I documented everything, photos,
- 55:27pictures and they shared a lot on my social media and that's
- 55:30how things got viral. I always love it when I find

- 56:30checkout for 10% off your order. There are there is a war right
- 56:35now in media, in public opinion about what happened on October
- 56:417th among some people. There are some people who are
- 56:44insisting and they're usually, you know, pro Hamas or they say
- 56:48they're pro Palestine. And they insist that many of
- 56:51these acts are propaganda, that this didn't happen.
- 56:55Even the United Nations Women's Organization has yet to decry to
- 57:00condemn the rapes that Hamas committed on many Israeli women
- 57:05and girls and children. And you know what?
- 57:09What's your response to that when you hear that?
- 57:11And you've probably heard that already.
- 57:16I feel, I feel like we live in two different dimensions.
- 57:21I think, I don't think, I'm sure the denying is not a denied as
- 57:31oh, we don't believe because we didn't see enough proof.
- 57:34We don't believe because we don't want to believe and we
- 57:36just hate you. That's what it is and I don't
- 57:39want to hear anything else. This is what it is and that's
- 57:43it. I shared a photo and a video of
- 57:54a dude that was tortured and burned.
- 58:00Completely burned bunch of them by the way.
- 58:03I so I I maybe over 7 burned completely black.
- 58:11From the from the fire in the home.
- 58:13Fire in a home. Fire in a home that would do
- 58:16that. The home, by the way, was not
- 58:18completely burned. A partial of the home was
- 58:21burned, not the whole home. Like the?
- 58:23Kitchen, the common area, yeah, they put them on fire.
- 58:27You can tell they put them on fire.
- 58:30So. So.
- 58:31Where were they found? Inside some of them inside the
- 58:35house, some of them outside the house, like in by the entrance,
- 58:39there's like a little patios or stuff like that.
- 58:43Were they tied up? Inside, some of them were tied
- 58:46up, some of them were not. One of them was with something
- 58:49on his mouth, like like very thick weird thing in his mouth
- 58:56and it was completely burnt with this thing still in his Thai
- 58:59tube, like blocking his mouth, super weird look like I don't
- 59:06know what it look like. And I share those things, those
- 59:10things on my Instagram. Like you go to my highlights,
- 59:11you're going to see a lot of bad stuff that you probably didn't
- 59:15see anywhere else. And you know, they heard a lot
- 59:23in the media that were fake Borganda or whatever, right?
- 59:28If Israel, if Israel, the country of Israel, the IDF made
- 59:34a whole thing as a propaganda. It's such a short time learning
- 59:40all of this, right? It's so many dead bodies too.
- 59:45Israel probably is the smallest country in the world, but as of
- 59:50right now, on October seven, on October seven, he thought it was
- 59:54the stupidest country in the world.
- 59:58On October seven, why not right now?
- 1:00:01Why? You know, we are asking
- 1:00:05ourselves how it happened. I don't believe in jobs, inside
- 1:00:13jobs and all these crap. I know how it happened.
- 1:00:17I now I, I, I, I get it. I, I know how it happened.
- 1:00:21I mean, it's very hard to explain by the way, if you don't
- 1:00:23know he's running, you don't know the border, you don't know
- 1:00:24how, what's the mater it made from?
- 1:00:25You don't know. I, I was in the military for 4
- 1:00:281/2 years. I was serving in Gaza.
- 1:00:30I know Gaza. So for me, you know it.
- 1:00:36So it, it just, it just, it's just very surprising.
- 1:00:38We did not expect that, obviously, and that's why.
- 1:00:42Did the IDF underestimate Hamas? Yeah, but I, I don't think it's
- 1:00:49all of it. I think it's just part of it.
- 1:00:51I think there is, there is many factors to it.
- 1:00:54Again, look, I'm, I'm not, I, I get my most of my information
- 1:01:02from friends who are on the field.
- 1:01:05So I don't see, I don't know how to look at the whole picture.
- 1:01:09I see in, in segments, you know, and every little part of the
- 1:01:14whole thing. I, I know some segments because
- 1:01:18I don't read about how like journalists and how they look at
- 1:01:24things, you know, I, I'm not there so.
- 1:01:28You're closer to reality in many ways than most journalists.
- 1:01:31Because I was hearing direct. I was never I, I, I don't have a
- 1:01:34linear TVI, you know, since I since I'm 22, I was 22.
- 1:01:39I don't. I don't watch the news.
- 1:01:43It's not really part of my life. What are your friends on the
- 1:01:46ground saying about why they think the attacks happened?
- 1:01:49So why it happened or? How it was able to happen?
- 1:01:53It happened because of an ideology why and and money and
- 1:01:58control and how it happened. Look, we never trained on how to
- 1:02:08block 4 to 5000 Palestinian breaking defendant go in.
- 1:02:15We were trained to block 2 terrorists, 3 terrorists based
- 1:02:19on a history of what what happened.
- 1:02:22But you have when you have 1500 Hamas fighters, terrorists with
- 1:02:33over 3000. An involved civilians that are
- 1:02:45infiltrating into Israel and stealing and breaking all those
- 1:02:49houses, by the way, in Kibbutz Berry and everything so so so.
- 1:02:52There's 1500 terrorists. Terrorists.
- 1:02:55And there's over 3000. Civilians also who got into
- 1:03:01Israel on bikes on bikes. Were some of these Palestinian?
- 1:03:06Kids, older people, they got into kibbutzberi and and that's,
- 1:03:12that's where I was kibbutz. That's why I'm saying
- 1:03:14kibbutzberi. And it's 5 minutes from the
- 1:03:16border. It's it's it's on the border.
- 1:03:18It's on the border, so there are thousands of Palestinian
- 1:03:22civilians, including teens and elders.
- 1:03:25Kids there's there's footage of kids with a bicycles are are
- 1:03:30going into kibbutzberly. Who are coming to pillage?
- 1:03:33They're coming steal pillage and they stole.
- 1:03:36They stole a lot of bicycles. They stole a lot of stuff.
- 1:03:39Do you think some of them were committing these acts of torture
- 1:03:42against Israelis? I don't know.
- 1:03:46It's the same. It's the same Hamas terrorist or
- 1:03:52this person who just got into kibbutzberry to steal a little
- 1:03:55bicycle. It's the same.
- 1:03:59What's the different? And when you say you're hearing
- 1:04:05reports from friends on the ground, one of them is they
- 1:04:07weren't expecting thousands to come over.
- 1:04:10What are some of the other factors you think for why the
- 1:04:12attack happened? The attack happened because they
- 1:04:17planned it for a long time. They've been planning this
- 1:04:22thing. I I think someone say two years,
- 1:04:27that's what their that's was their dream.
- 1:04:30They've been raised on Jewish hate and that's why they did it
- 1:04:37and they got paid for it. Someone financed that and it's
- 1:04:44got nothing to do with the land or not land because Israel is
- 1:04:47out of Gaza since 2005. He's a doesn't need to control
- 1:04:50Gaza. You can do whatever you want in
- 1:04:51Gaza. You can go in and out and and
- 1:04:54Gaza could go in and out, but that was their dream.
- 1:05:04You know, that's, that's their thing.
- 1:05:06That's that this is what they do.
- 1:05:07You know, that's, it's not the first time they slaughter
- 1:05:10people. They used to slaughter people
- 1:05:12before like that but on the smaller sizes.
- 1:05:16Meaning. Just one family got slaughtered.
- 1:05:20But if one family gets slaughtered, you probably just
- 1:05:22probably don't. I'm not going to hear about it.
- 1:05:23We know about that. Meaning Hamas terrorists have
- 1:05:26slaughtered individual families before.
- 1:05:28Yes. And coming in.
- 1:05:30Kids and babies before. Yes.
- 1:05:32Kids and babies before it. It happened before.
- 1:05:35See I. Think it's a Fogle Fogle family.
- 1:05:38It's a very famous. What happened with the Fogle?
- 1:05:39Family, this slaughtered entire family, slaughtered entire
- 1:05:43family. I think it was a morning act
- 1:05:45and. What year was that or what?
- 1:05:48How long ago caught? Me on this one few years ago.
- 1:05:50A few years and and it was Hamas terrorists coming into a
- 1:05:53kibbutz. Yeah.
- 1:05:55Infiltrating into the kibbutz was few guys and they
- 1:05:59slaughtered entire family. So they shot them, they cut
- 1:06:06them. They again, I am, I'm not
- 1:06:08familiar with the exact details of which arm they took off of
- 1:06:12who, but there's footage of that.
- 1:06:17And, and I remember even the, the family around approved and
- 1:06:24pushed the government to release the footage to the media.
- 1:06:27And I remember we all were seeing the real footage in the
- 1:06:29media. Everybody saw it in Israel.
- 1:06:31The footage that Hamas took of their.
- 1:06:33House not Hamas, the the. Security.
- 1:06:38Israelis or military that got there and took photos of what
- 1:06:43happened and what what I've seen, yeah.
- 1:06:45So you're from Israel. You were in the army for years.
- 1:06:50Your friends, your family, you have them, many of them still in
- 1:06:53Israel. You're a dual citizen.
- 1:06:55What do you think Americans don't understand about the
- 1:07:00existential threat that Hamas is to Israel?
- 1:07:04So it's very simple. It's very, it's not, it's not
- 1:07:10complicated as everybody think. Hamas control Gaza.
- 1:07:17Hamas has 65 or I'm sorry, 75% that's supporting Hamas.
- 1:07:26Of Palestinians and Hamas, 75%. Five, 5%.
- 1:07:30Now if I'm wrong about the number, please 737271 whatever
- 1:07:3575%. That's what from what I've heard
- 1:07:38right now Hamas is, is Hamas, Iran, Qatar, all those countries
- 1:07:47that financing Hamas, they're feeding the the the ideology to
- 1:07:53hate Jews and learn about Hitler and why the Jews need to be died
- 1:07:57since the first day they go into school, those kids and not just
- 1:08:01that since the first day they are born, they know what Jew is
- 1:08:04and why the Jew need to die. So this is this is the first
- 1:08:07thing this is an ideology some so, so these people are growing
- 1:08:11on these hate and when they reach the age of 1515, they
- 1:08:15become terrorists already 15, not 2324 to 30/15/14.
- 1:08:20They're holding guns already right.
- 1:08:23So when you hear sometimes about Israel killed a kid, I'm just
- 1:08:26saying it might be a 50 years old who was would, would AK47,
- 1:08:33right. So this is one thing.
- 1:08:37Second thing, there's a lot of there's people who makes a lot
- 1:08:41of money out of this war, right? And that's my beliefs.
- 1:08:46There's another thing. Israel is made to protect
- 1:08:52Israel. It's the only Jewish state.
- 1:08:54There's 33 Muslims countries around the world.
- 1:08:58No one wants the Palestinians from some reason now want to get
- 1:09:02them as a refugees. Now one, now one really helps
- 1:09:06out right now. You see what you see in the
- 1:09:07media, but no one helps them because no one wants to help
- 1:09:10them, because everybody knows that it's a WASP of terror.
- 1:09:17Gaza is full of terror, all right, full of terrorist.
- 1:09:21Gaza has two cities. They went above ground and the
- 1:09:25one underground. They invested their billions of
- 1:09:30dollars to build those tunnels underneath.
- 1:09:35Everybody's asking everybody. See.
- 1:09:37Yeah, but the Gazan civilians doesn't have a safe room to run
- 1:09:41into. Yeah, because, yo, Hamas didn't
- 1:09:43build for them. They built tunnels for the Hamas
- 1:09:47fighters to fight from. The civilians doesn't hide in
- 1:09:50the tunnels that they built. The civilians don't have
- 1:09:53anywhere to hide. So this is what's going on then.
- 1:09:57And it's very simple. There is no, there is no there
- 1:10:00there, there, there's no other way to to you know, you can look
- 1:10:03at it in many other ways, but that's what's up.
- 1:10:06And those are facts. Everything I say right now is is
- 1:10:09facts. Now from experience, that was in
- 1:10:12Gaza. They shoot the Rockets, they
- 1:10:15attack from a civilian places. Now, I'm not telling you what
- 1:10:19I've heard in the news, not telling what I've heard on a
- 1:10:22social media. I was there.
- 1:10:24You were there. I see it in my eyes.
- 1:10:26Rockets are firing from schools. That was this is 20 years ago.
- 1:10:31Rockets were you saw with your eyes were firing from school.
- 1:10:34I was ambushing, I was ambushing on a split waiting me, myself
- 1:10:39and I'm talking to you about 19 years ago, 19 years ago.
- 1:10:43So this has been going on for. Years he hears it.
- 1:10:46It's a technique. This is their this is the this
- 1:10:48is the way they fight. They fight from a civilians
- 1:10:52sites. Now again, I'm sitting here and
- 1:10:58I'm telling you things that I was experienced.
- 1:11:02I was, I was, I was a soldier that was sitting and didn't get
- 1:11:07an approval to shoot the people, the Hamas guy that's firing the
- 1:11:12Rockets because there is kids in the school and they're shooting
- 1:11:15from the schools. This is this is this is for us.
- 1:11:20It's we, we we the the this is what we are fighting with.
- 1:11:23Like we, we know the fully years it's happening.
- 1:11:26This is not new. So your commanders told you you
- 1:11:29were not allowed to take out the terrorist shooting missiles at
- 1:11:34you from Gaza because they were on a school property with kids
- 1:11:39there? Of course.
- 1:11:41And the kids are playing soccer like maybe 50m from from from
- 1:11:47the the Rockets that that's 19 years ago.
- 1:11:51And the terrorists choose the school.
- 1:11:54They choose the hospital. Come on, didn't they know we're
- 1:11:57not going to shoot? Look, they're not stupid.
- 1:12:02And why they know Why doesn't Israel shoot?
- 1:12:04Why won't Israel? Because because we we don't take
- 1:12:13life of civilians. I've been trained to protect
- 1:12:19Israel. I've been trained to not to take
- 1:12:23life of civilians. OK, I am.
- 1:12:27I'm I'm as a soldier, as an officer in ground forces, that
- 1:12:33my job was to capture terrorist without killing them.
- 1:12:39Capture terrorists without. Killing them.
- 1:12:41Why? That was the operation.
- 1:12:44You don't ask why. Does Israel?
- 1:12:46Does Israel execute terrorists once they're?
- 1:12:48Ruptured. No, Only the terrorists trying
- 1:12:50to attack you? Of course not.
- 1:12:52So Israel allows the terrorists to live, and they're not
- 1:12:56there's. No, they, they get information
- 1:12:58from them how to get more terrorists.
- 1:13:00Why? To kill them, right?
- 1:13:01It's smarter not to kill them, I think.
- 1:13:03But again, I'm not a decision maker, you know?
- 1:13:07I'm just telling. That is surprising, though,
- 1:13:08because my understanding is Israel hasn't practiced the
- 1:13:11death penalty in decades. That even the worst terrorists
- 1:13:15committing the worst crimes, most heinous crimes, when they
- 1:13:18serve jail sentences, they're not.
- 1:13:19There's no execution. They won't even execute their
- 1:13:21words. Let's let's talk about the Hamas
- 1:13:23leader. If he's in law, he was.
- 1:13:26He was saved. He had a cancer in his head.
- 1:13:29So this is the Hamas terrorists who planned the October 7th
- 1:13:31attacks? Yeah.
- 1:13:33And tell us the history briefly, because my understanding is he
- 1:13:35had been released by Israel even though he had committed horrible
- 1:13:40attacks and planned horrible attacks against innocent
- 1:13:42civilians. He was released back to Gaza.
- 1:13:45Why? We had a hostage for six years
- 1:13:51from the second Gila Chalit and now we had a deal to release
- 1:13:551027, don't quote that number again in order to take in order
- 1:14:02to exchange 1027 terrorists exchange with 1 soldier that was
- 1:14:11Gilad Shalit and one of the terrorists was Efisenwald and in
- 1:14:16jail which is it was obviously getting his degrees and
- 1:14:20everything in jail. Forget about that.
- 1:14:21He had a cancer in his head and he was taking care of in
- 1:14:24Hadassah Hospital on the expenses of the Israelis
- 1:14:29taxpayers. OK, hold on.
- 1:14:31So this is a terrorist, a Gaza Hamas terrorist, Sinwar, who was
- 1:14:36in prison in Israel. He was permitted to get his
- 1:14:38degree while in prison. He was getting education in
- 1:14:42prison from Israel. And then he was permitted to
- 1:14:45have his cancer treatment at expense of Israel, Israel in
- 1:14:48their one of their hospitals. And then Israel released over
- 1:14:521000 of terrorists, convicted terrorists including Sinwar,
- 1:14:57back to Gaza in exchange for one Israeli soldier.
- 1:15:01And those are not stories from the newspaper.
- 1:15:04Those are facts, these things happening.
- 1:15:07And then what did Sinwa do? What sinwa?
- 1:15:10What did he do when he was released?
- 1:15:12He managed, I guess the whole operation of Hamas.
- 1:15:20Not familiar with the exact title, but is is the Hamas
- 1:15:24leader, main Hamas leader. He's the decision maker right
- 1:15:27now who's releasing what to do. He's he's that's the guy who
- 1:15:32pretty much does it all. What is amazing team look, let's
- 1:15:44put my opinions on the side. I'm, I'll give you facts, all
- 1:15:48right, As a soldier and as a person who was there as a
- 1:15:51soldier, as an ID of soldier, we've been trained know how to
- 1:16:00kill like we know how to kill. But most, I'm sorry, 100%, not
- 1:16:06most, 100% of any operation I had is to capture only if you
- 1:16:14get shot by someone or someone is risking only then you're
- 1:16:18allowed to shoot back. You cannot shoot even if you
- 1:16:23recognize something unless you get approval.
- 1:16:30Even if they're shooting at you. No, they're shooting at you,
- 1:16:33shooting right away. But if you recognize something
- 1:16:36that was suspicious, you don't shoot right away.
- 1:16:40You hey, let's say like I recognize something, then
- 1:16:45somebody else need to approve. It is like it's a discussion.
- 1:16:47It's it's not it's not They don't you don't go into Gaza and
- 1:16:50just shoot everything you see. Doesn't work like that.
- 1:16:54It doesn't work like that. Why do you think so many
- 1:16:58Americans and Westerners are, I consider it blinded by
- 1:17:03propaganda that says that the IDF is leveling Gaza.
- 1:17:08You know, this is apartheid. This is it's also genocide.
- 1:17:11It's also very simple to explain.
- 1:17:15There is only 14 to 16,000,000 Jews around the world.
- 1:17:21There is 2 billions Muslims around the world.
- 1:17:24Let's start with this. It's a number game.
- 1:17:27Now they understand that the Hamas cannot fight the IDF.
- 1:17:36They can't come on. IDF is much stronger, much
- 1:17:39smarter, much stronger than Hamas, no doubt.
- 1:17:45So they fight around the world to put a pressure on Israel
- 1:17:49because Israel is a is a country, it's a Western country,
- 1:17:55it's a democratic country that listen, that doesn't do what it
- 1:17:59wants. And they know that.
- 1:18:01They know that the good heart of the Jews, they know that the
- 1:18:06Jews have good heart. They know the Jews celebrate
- 1:18:10life. You cannot fight with someone
- 1:18:16that celebrate death. When you celebrate life, when
- 1:18:19you celebrate life that there there is no, there is no.
- 1:18:26First of all, there is no even way to do peace with to create
- 1:18:28peace with us. There's no way to fight with
- 1:18:33someone that he's OK and I'm sorry, not OK.
- 1:18:37He was raised to blow himself and kill as many Jews as
- 1:18:42possible. It's not a regular war.
- 1:18:46So so why a lot of people around the world don't?
- 1:18:54Because because most it's a it's a number Game 2 billions.
- 1:18:58They have the the the bunch of teams in Iran and Russia and
- 1:19:04whatever that hundreds and thousands at their job.
- 1:19:10Their job is how to make Israel to be the most hated country in
- 1:19:17the world, how to make it on on the media and.
- 1:19:20So you're saying there are thousands, potentially more of
- 1:19:25people connected with the Palestinian effort, let's call
- 1:19:30it terrorists included, who are their focus is a propaganda war
- 1:19:37against Israel on social media, in media.
- 1:19:41Look, the extremist Muslim world.
- 1:19:46Extremist Muslim world. Hamas.
- 1:19:49Jihad, their ideology and belief, is to eliminate the
- 1:19:56Jewish state from the map. That's her job.
- 1:20:02By any means necessary. And that's their belief.
- 1:20:06Now, I repeat, not all jobs. I have a lot of Muslims, right,
- 1:20:11by the way, really good friends. They don't believe that, that,
- 1:20:15that I'm, I'm talking about a group.
- 1:20:18Unfortunately, it's a very large group.
- 1:20:20It's not, they're not minority, right?
- 1:20:22It's not like a 1%. No, they're the majority and and
- 1:20:28they based their entire life careers in order to do that.
- 1:20:34And they call that anti Zionism. They call.
- 1:20:37It. Any weird they call themselves
- 1:20:42freedom fighters, they call themselves anti Zionists
- 1:20:45whatever and they they paint themselves and different colors
- 1:20:51to look better in front of the world and it's work for them
- 1:20:53working for them as it's. Why do you think it's working
- 1:20:56for them? Because humans are like herd of
- 1:21:06sheeps and we follow each other without even checking anything.
- 1:21:12And if most humans, when they're getting 10 messages a day and 9
- 1:21:19messages of them, how Israel is bad because there was more
- 1:21:22people creating those videos and content and this and then and
- 1:21:27you get only one message about Israel is good, but because
- 1:21:31there is less people that's Jewish, that creates all those
- 1:21:35videos too. It's a numbered game.
- 1:21:37Yeah, 2 billion, you said 2 billion, two billion.
- 1:21:40Versus 14 to 16. Million Jewish people.
- 1:21:43No. So if you're getting 9 versus 1,
- 1:21:45obviously most likely you're going to believe 29 messages and
- 1:21:49video, different videos you got not to the one you got.
- 1:21:52So Israel has been painted as an oppressor, an apartheid and the
- 1:21:58Gazan Palestinian of the poor minority without future.
- 1:22:04Actually, it's the opposite because the fight is not Israel
- 1:22:08and Palestine. Israel is fighting Hamas.
- 1:22:12Listen to this one. Israel declared a war on Hamas.
- 1:22:19The entire Hamas regime and the Islamist Islamic State declare a
- 1:22:27war on the Jewish state. Who is the minority?
- 1:22:33The fight. The war is not on in Israel.
- 1:22:38The war is also in Los Angeles. I got cancelled.
- 1:22:43You got cancelled, Yeah. What do you mean?
- 1:22:47Few people in my art life decided to live not, not not to
- 1:22:55be around me. So you're obviously a successful
- 1:22:59artist in Los Angeles, and after the October 7th attacks and your
- 1:23:03volunteer work there, people that you were working with
- 1:23:06before are refusing to work with you.
- 1:23:09A few people from. Because you're a Jewish Israeli.
- 1:23:13Few people that from Europe, some from LA, I might be risking
- 1:23:21their other roster or artist because I'm I became the
- 1:23:28political artist. I don't see myself like that,
- 1:23:30but it doesn't matter. So I'm too risky for business to
- 1:23:36be around with. If it's not a war, So what?
- 1:23:40A war is. There is some Jewish people
- 1:23:43lives in LA, they got attacked. There is everyday there is
- 1:23:48something going on in Los Angeles.
- 1:23:49I'm talking about Los Angeles. What about Paris?
- 1:23:51What about England? What about so many other Western
- 1:23:53countries? I'm so excited when I can find a
- 1:23:55company that I personally like to use.
- 1:23:58And as I've said before on the show, I'm very picky about my
- 1:24:01skin care. I always have been.
- 1:24:03It's been hard for me to find a company that I like to continue
- 1:24:06using. When I first saw and heard about
- 1:24:08Mimi skincare.com, I was intrigued.
- 1:24:11This is a pro-life, pro family company.
- 1:24:12The branding was beautiful, the products looked great.
- 1:24:15And so I tried them and I've been, I'm using them now for the
- 1:24:17last several months and nimiskincare.com is now my
- 1:24:19favorite skin care company. Their moisturizing cream, their
- 1:24:22hydration cream is awesome. I use that every night.
- 1:24:25I love their vitamin C cleansing scrub.
- 1:24:27They have fantastic products for all different kinds of skin and
- 1:24:30the ingredients are great. The branding is beautiful.
- 1:24:32And best of all, this is a company that supports your
- 1:24:35values. So check out nimiskincare.com,
- 1:24:39that's Nimi skincare.com. This is a great time to order
- 1:24:42something special for yourself for the holidays or for a loved
- 1:24:45one for the holidays. And you can use the code Lila at

- 1:24:52This Christmas, that's Lila at checkout at nimiskincare.com for
- 1:24:5715% off your order. So since October 7th, have you
- 1:25:00seen more anti-Semitism against Jews in America and in Los
- 1:25:06Angeles? 1000%, 1000% no doubt.
- 1:25:13What are some of the things you've seen or heard?
- 1:25:17Breaking into houses, fights in the street, marking David stars
- 1:25:23on my door which I don't know. I will do it.
- 1:25:25Myself on your door. Not my door, on the other doors,
- 1:25:28other. People on other people's doors.
- 1:25:32Bunch of attacks on the campuses on the campuses is another war
- 1:25:38like going on like how? How is it related to Palestine
- 1:25:43and those people never even been there?
- 1:25:45Like what? What, what happened when, when
- 1:25:48Bashar al-Assad killed, I don't know, 600, I don't know how many
- 1:25:52hundreds of thousands of civilians?
- 1:25:54Where were you? What?
- 1:25:56What country was that? Syria.
- 1:25:58Syria. So in Syria.
- 1:26:00Guys, it was. Hundreds of thousands of
- 1:26:01civilians were. Hundreds of that was killed by
- 1:26:03Bashar al. I want, you know, my studio.
- 1:26:07So this one, my studio is right in the front of the capital on
- 1:26:12the the City Hall in, in LA, in downtown LA, right in the front.
- 1:26:18For the past four years, I've been in the studio on the ground
- 1:26:21level. So I see every rally that is
- 1:26:24starting in LA, it's starting in front of my studio.
- 1:26:28Wow. Every Sunday, every Saturday, I
- 1:26:30see it all. I see all the groups from Black
- 1:26:34Lives Matter to right wing to left wing, everything.
- 1:26:37And it's so inspiring. Right away they're inspired to
- 1:26:41see all the different groups and every week in a different group.
- 1:26:44And where was the rally for the Syrian?
- 1:26:54I know about every rally that is going on in Los Angeles because
- 1:26:58I'm right in the front of the City Hall and all the rallies
- 1:27:01are starting their biggest rallies now every weekend I see
- 1:27:04the Palestinian they're they're passing.
- 1:27:07I'm I'm sometimes smoking cigarette and I'm like among
- 1:27:09them and I'm looking at them. So no rally for the Syrian
- 1:27:13people, no rally for the Afghani refugees that are being
- 1:27:17dispelled right now forcibly, No food, no homes, no rally for the
- 1:27:22Armenian Christians, no who are being slaughtered.
- 1:27:25The Armenians have been right now for years, by the way.
- 1:27:28So what rallies are you seeing right now?
- 1:27:32Now, now, now. Palestinians only.
- 1:27:36What are those rallies? I used to see a lot of Black
- 1:27:38Lives Matter I on the riots, my studio was there on the riots, I
- 1:27:43was, I was standing in front of my studio and all the riots were
- 1:27:46around my studio. But because I was protecting,
- 1:27:49you know, and, and my my place, no one looked my place but LGTBQ
- 1:28:00and all of their around different organizations,
- 1:28:06everything and, and no no no rallies for all the people that
- 1:28:11died, you know, around the world, you know nothing 0.
- 1:28:18You said something interesting earlier about talking about the
- 1:28:21refugees. There are 33 Muslim countries.
- 1:28:26None of them want to accept Palestinian refugees.
- 1:28:29I think of Jordan, the Queen of Jordan, Queen Rania, you know,
- 1:28:33very angrily speaking out against the treatment, how she
- 1:28:36sees IDF treatment of Gaza. How dare you?
- 1:28:39But Jordan is not accepting Palestinian refugees, Egypt not
- 1:28:44accepting Palestinian refugees. And, and you said earlier I said
- 1:28:48why? And you said it's a nest.
- 1:28:50I think you said of of or Wasps nest of terrorism.
- 1:28:54So they don't want Palestinian refugees in their countries
- 1:28:57because they know that they will destabilize the country.
- 1:29:00That's the concern. Maybe I, I don't know.
- 1:29:05I, I know that everyone there know and see what we see.
- 1:29:13They, they know all those are countries, but they have to
- 1:29:17stick to specific agenda, I guess, because for a political
- 1:29:22side and money and power and stuff like that, right?
- 1:29:24But yeah, they have to stick to a specific agenda.
- 1:29:29That's why. But why wouldn't they help the
- 1:29:32Palestinian seriously right now? Seriously.
- 1:29:35Right now? They say Israel is the one that
- 1:29:38must help them. Let's let's say that Israel is
- 1:29:41creating a genocide right now and killing babies, right?
- 1:29:46That's the and slattering babies on the streets.
- 1:29:50Where are 33 countries? How come those 33 countries not
- 1:29:57ripping out Israel? How come, how come, how come,
- 1:30:03how come it's only in the media? How come the pressure is it's
- 1:30:09like political pressure and not like how come no one is
- 1:30:14attacking Israel, right? How, how come Hezbollah is just
- 1:30:17a little bit rockets here, a little bit rockets there are not
- 1:30:20like how come look. Why do you think?
- 1:30:23Because it's not true. Everybody know it's not true.
- 1:30:26They know Israel does precision strikes, air strikes on Gaza,
- 1:30:33that the target is the terrorists.
- 1:30:36And when there are civilian casualties, why does the
- 1:30:39Ministry of Health, there's the Ministry of Health and Health in
- 1:30:42Gaza. I see CNN reporting, I see
- 1:30:45Reuters reporting, Ministry of Health reports 12,000 dead.
- 1:30:50What's the sense of that? Do you, do you?
- 1:30:51You've been in war with Hamas before.
- 1:30:54What's your sense of that? So it's a great question.
- 1:31:00You know how much time it takes in a massacre to understand how
- 1:31:05many died, how many missing, and how many got hurt.
- 1:31:11It takes time their reports are so quick like 11 bomb on the
- 1:31:19chief of hospital which was not from Israel was was actually
- 1:31:23firing from the jihad and and had a failure and dropped on the
- 1:31:27chief hospital with the admit already less than an hour.
- 1:31:31They said 500 got killed. Really in less than an hour you
- 1:31:35count 500 dead bodies? Come on bro, it's probably going
- 1:31:38to take you a week. A week to count 500 killed like.
- 1:31:42People, they say, well, the United Nations approves our
- 1:31:45numbers, so they must be true. The UN aid organization says our
- 1:31:49numbers have been accurate, so that they must be true is their
- 1:31:51response to that. So they can say whatever they
- 1:31:54want and they, they're saying many things that the, the, the,
- 1:31:58the health organizations, whatever controlled by who in
- 1:32:02the Gaza by, by the way, nothing.
- 1:32:06There is nothing that is going on in Gaza without Hamas.
- 1:32:12Nothing. There is nothing.
- 1:32:15You cannot operate in Gaza and do whatever you want in Gaza
- 1:32:18without, without the connection to Hamas.
- 1:32:23So Hamas is basically controlling those numbers.
- 1:32:30And obviously I will not trust these people who are behaving
- 1:32:36people and torturing and raping to give the right numbers of or
- 1:32:41got killed. Do you think that the
- 1:32:43terrorists, Hamas terrorists and some of their leaders
- 1:32:48intentionally do not evacuate their families?
- 1:32:51Well, they know that there will be strikes upon their bases
- 1:32:54where they keep their families. I don't think children.
- 1:32:57I don't think I know it for fact.
- 1:33:00I know that I know that for a fact.
- 1:33:02That's their technique to fight among civilians, because they
- 1:33:07know that this is the the this is what makes Israel the bad
- 1:33:16person. That's their Achilles.
- 1:33:18Heel that, that, that's, that's their.
- 1:33:19That's their strength. That's their technique.
- 1:33:26It's a weird war. It's not.
- 1:33:29It's a psychological war. You know that not only the Hamas
- 1:33:34is involved in this, the poor Palestinian people are just
- 1:33:39puppets, you know. I feel bad for them, by the way.
- 1:33:43Especially the children. Hell yeah, they are born to
- 1:33:48probably die, you know, and. When you said earlier that
- 1:33:54they're raised from a young age, the Palestinian children in Gaza
- 1:33:57particularly to hate Jews. I've seen some of the videos and
- 1:34:03photos of young school plays. We're talking like first grade.
- 1:34:07They dress up as jihad to go, jihadis to go and attack.
- 1:34:10You know, they have a Jew. They pretend they're stabbing a
- 1:34:14Jew as part of this play that they're acting out of freedom
- 1:34:17resistance. They they think of it as is
- 1:34:21there anything more you can share about that that you think
- 1:34:23Americans don't understand about how Palestinian children are
- 1:34:26raised you? Know.
- 1:34:28And I want to stay here too, because people listening,
- 1:34:30there's so much confusion around this.
- 1:34:32This doesn't mean the Palestinian child is guilty or
- 1:34:35should be killed. They are innocent and they are
- 1:34:37brainwashed and they should be freed from this kind of ideology
- 1:34:41and from this leadership. I think that most people don't
- 1:34:47want to know and I think people supporting agendas based on
- 1:34:53their surrounding, based on their jobs, based on their
- 1:34:56career. I don't think people supporting
- 1:34:59based on facts. I don't think people reading
- 1:35:01facts. I don't think people even doing
- 1:35:02the research. I, I, I strongly believe that
- 1:35:08there's a lot of Jew hates out there.
- 1:35:09It's very easy to hate this. The, the, the smarter person
- 1:35:14that has been everybody saying control the world.
- 1:35:17I don't understand who, who, who, who is these people Jewish
- 1:35:21people that control the world. Please, I, I, I want to meet
- 1:35:23them because because my life very far from from being
- 1:35:29controlling the world, OK, and I'm not I'm not acting as a
- 1:35:35victim. I'm who who were the Jewish
- 1:35:38people to control the world? I'm, I'm, I'm trying to
- 1:35:41understand who are these people? You know, so, so, so it's very
- 1:35:45easy to, to listen to the poor people in all those videos of,
- 1:35:55of, of the poor Palestinian people that are, you know, and
- 1:36:01after the bombing and everything, they're like lifting
- 1:36:04the rocks and my lost my house and everything that there's so
- 1:36:07many layers to it that people don't even understand and want
- 1:36:10to investigate. So it's easier to hate the
- 1:36:13stronger it's easier to hate the stronger and the smarter it is.
- 1:36:18And and people are relying on their what will sound better to
- 1:36:29my surrounding? Who am I supporting?
- 1:36:31Most people don't have the balls to say hey, you know what to the
- 1:36:35surrounding. I actually know better.
- 1:36:38I actually think different. And that's why I say it's a herd
- 1:36:43of sheeps who following each other and unfortunately they are
- 1:36:51a big part of the Jewish hate now in this world.
- 1:36:57And they are responsible for many people who got killed also.
- 1:37:02So that's why I am strongly believe that the war is around
- 1:37:06the world and people getting killed because that people are
- 1:37:12so well haters or or or still want to know or or or for their
- 1:37:23agenda they they cannot say what they think is the truth.
- 1:37:28Tomer, this has been an incredible interview.
- 1:37:31I have just a few more questions.
- 1:37:32I mean, we could talk, I think, all day.
- 1:37:35There's so much to this conversation.
- 1:37:36But what is your take on these calls for a ceasefire?
- 1:37:42They say, you know, Israel's harming civilians.
- 1:37:47Ceasefire, Ceasefire. Well, what's going to happen
- 1:37:50after ceasefire? They say, well use diplomacy,
- 1:37:53just use diplomacy. What's your opinion on that?
- 1:37:55Up until I have met my wife, I would answer your question very,
- 1:38:02you know, straightforward way. But she always, you know, don't
- 1:38:12ever listen to what people say. Try to listen to what they mean
- 1:38:18when they say what they say. And, and let's talk about when
- 1:38:24people say ceasefire. It's a great slogan.
- 1:38:28It's like you want to put it on a T-shirt because when you wear
- 1:38:31a T-shirt that say ceasefire, you become the peace and love
- 1:38:36person, right? But that's not the case.
- 1:38:39People who are calling ceasefire, it's not because they
- 1:38:42want peace and love. People are calling ceasefire.
- 1:38:46It's people that want Hamas to continue with their atrocities
- 1:38:54and that's it. That's it.
- 1:38:58That's exactly what it says. People that say ceasefire,
- 1:39:03they're saying Israel is not. We don't want Israel to get
- 1:39:09their hostages back. The slogan ceasefire sounds a
- 1:39:18lot better than the slogan Bringing the hostages Back Home.
- 1:39:25There was a, there was a short term truce.
- 1:39:28And during that time, in exchange for, you know, dozens
- 1:39:31of Palestinian prisoners, many had committed or collaborated in
- 1:39:36acts of terror. Israel exchanged 30 per day for
- 1:39:4013 Israeli hostages and got back, I think almost 100.
- 1:39:45But then I understand Hamas started firing again, broke the
- 1:39:49ceasefire, and now Israel has resumed its attacks as well.
- 1:39:55So I've been in Gaza as a soldier during ceasefires.
- 1:40:04I don't know about 1. One ceasefires out of hundreds
- 1:40:12that Israel had in the past, in my lifetime, that Hamas didn't
- 1:40:18break 11. It's another thing that people
- 1:40:25don't know you. Know there was a ceasefire on
- 1:40:28October 7th. Yeah, where you know, and and
- 1:40:31and they broke it too. So ceasefire is basically
- 1:40:40telling Israel you not going to get your hostages back.
- 1:40:45And Hamas will should keep their atrocity because as soon as
- 1:40:49Israel will will put their weapons down, there is no more
- 1:40:53Jewish state. And the opposite is if Hamas
- 1:40:55will put their weapon down, will now be attacking on Gaza and
- 1:41:01we're not even attacking Gaza, we're attacking Hamas.
- 1:41:03So, so this cost concept is for me, it's very simple.
- 1:41:11It's very simple for me to understand that, you know,
- 1:41:14because we always say it's complicated.
- 1:41:15It's complicated for me. It's very simple because I've
- 1:41:19been there. I've, I grew up in Southeast
- 1:41:22Jerusalem. I know the Israeli Palestinian
- 1:41:27conflict from my home, like I grew up to it, you know, So I
- 1:41:33see it, I see what's going on. I see the two sides.
- 1:41:35I have a lot of Muslim strands. But anyway, yeah, it's an
- 1:41:44interesting one. So it sounds like in this case,
- 1:41:47because this was unprecedented, more deaths and horrors, I mean
- 1:41:52the most since the Holocaust for the Jewish people on October
- 1:41:557th. This is it.
- 1:41:57They can't continue to allow IDF Israel saying we cannot continue
- 1:42:01to allow this to go on. A mosque must be defeated once
- 1:42:04and for all. I wish and I hope that Israel
- 1:42:09and the IDF will stick to their promise to eliminate Hamas and
- 1:42:14will not go out of Gaza. And I said with a very happy
- 1:42:19heart. By the way, Gaza is not a fun
- 1:42:22place to be for soldiers. I can tell you that as a
- 1:42:26soldier, I didn't want to go into Gaza.
- 1:42:30Why not? It's, it's dangerous.
- 1:42:32It's it's, it's every in my time, every corner was, was with
- 1:42:38the improvised explosive devices.
- 1:42:42Every corner. And as a soldier, I didn't want
- 1:42:46to die. I I wanted to leave, you know?
- 1:42:52Yeah. OK.
- 1:42:53I'll die for my country. But I didn't go to the military
- 1:42:56to die, you know, I wanted the military because because I
- 1:42:58wanted to protect the country, not because I wanted to die, You
- 1:43:01know, we want to leave. We, we, we, we truly want peace.
- 1:43:06We, we want to live in peace. And Israel can live in peace.
- 1:43:10So do you have proof Israel has 2 million Arabs inside Israel
- 1:43:14right now? 2 million Arabs in Israel.
- 1:43:16Inside Israel, you know, they're saying Israel is apartheid.
- 1:43:19Apartheid. You have, you have two million
- 1:43:21Arabs inside Israel. They serve in the military.
- 1:43:25They're police officer, they're doctors.
- 1:43:26By the way, you know you're going to a doctor in Israel, 70%
- 1:43:31chances you're going to see an Arab doctor. 70% of doctors.
- 1:43:34And I'm saying 70% because the reason I'm saying 7% because one
- 1:43:38time was something about Israel. Every time, the reason every
- 1:43:40time I went to visit to Israel, every time I went to a doctor
- 1:43:44was Arab doctor, which again, no, not, not that I have a
- 1:43:48problem with that. It's just showing you that there
- 1:43:51is, there is, there is there is Arabs, Muslims, Arabs in the
- 1:43:55Knesset, in the parliament, in the Supreme Court.
- 1:43:58What about that? What are you talking about?
- 1:44:02People that say that they they they've never been in Israel.
- 1:44:05Are there Jewish people living peacefully in Gaza?
- 1:44:09No. Are there Jewish people living
- 1:44:11peacefully in the West Bank? No.
- 1:44:13But there are Palestinian in. Europe.
- 1:44:16You're not even allowed to go, but there's Palestinian Arab
- 1:44:19people living peacefully in Israel.
- 1:44:22A lot. And by the way, we used to go to
- 1:44:25when I was a kid in the Hades. I remember we went to Kalkila,
- 1:44:35we went to Hebron, we went to with the West Bank to eat
- 1:44:39Hormuz. It was really fun.
- 1:44:41It was great until the 2nd Intifada.
- 1:44:45What was that? 2000, 2001, that wouldn't.
- 1:44:49That's when I wasn't the military, by the way, I wasn't
- 1:44:51the second intifada in the operation, which was one of the
- 1:44:55craziest operations. These are, you know, the second
- 1:44:59Intifada was very hard for soldiers.
- 1:45:00So this was an uprising. And when you say intifada for
- 1:45:04people, Americans who may not understand, this was an uprising
- 1:45:08in the West Bank against Israel. Yeah.
- 1:45:09Military militaristic uprising and terrorist attacks, yes.
- 1:45:15And so Israel responds, you're in the military at the time, but
- 1:45:18before that people would pass freely between the West Bank and
- 1:45:22Israel. There's a a now becoming more
- 1:45:27famous on social media. He is of Jewish descent, but
- 1:45:31he's very anti Israel and his name is Norman Finkelstein.
- 1:45:36You probably maybe have heard of him, but but he says the
- 1:45:40infatada was not violent. It was merely an attempt to take
- 1:45:45back, you know, land. But they only would use violence
- 1:45:49to protect themselves. I mean, this is the narrative.
- 1:45:53There is nothing related to land.
- 1:45:57It could nothing to do with land.
- 1:45:59It was. It was not, not the violent
- 1:46:04terrorist attack every other day in every corner in Israel.
- 1:46:08You saw you saw this, or you hurt.
- 1:46:10You were you were alive at this time.
- 1:46:13I was up north and it was Passover, and when I got
- 1:46:18released to go home, I was stationed up north Dove
- 1:46:25Mountain, and it was Passover night.
- 1:46:29I was on my way to my mother family in Natania.
- 1:46:34It's a city in the center of Israel on the coast.
- 1:46:38And, and I was late to the, to the set up to the dinner.
- 1:46:43And I as soon as I got in, I got a message that I got to go back
- 1:46:47and there was probably a war starting because there was a
- 1:46:49terrorist attack in Natania, the same city I stepped into.
- 1:46:53And I don't remember how many people got killed, but one of
- 1:46:58my, it was Park Hotel that the, the restaurant, I don't know if
- 1:47:05the restaurant owner, one of the manager of the hotel was the
- 1:47:08father of the family of father of one of my best friends from
- 1:47:12the military. So I went back and, and the
- 1:47:17second, the Hallmark Mcgendi operation started a day after
- 1:47:21already. So we went back to the military
- 1:47:23and now we after a few weeks, a few days, I'm sorry, we went
- 1:47:27down to Jenin and we were fighting in Jenin for a few
- 1:47:29months. And that was a second intifada,
- 1:47:33very violent, very a lot of a lot of these people got got
- 1:47:37killed yard dirt. Tamara, what do you think is do
- 1:47:41you have an opinion on what the solution is?
- 1:47:45Overcome. Defeat Hamas, then what?
- 1:47:51You know, I everything I I'm talking about, I'm talking from
- 1:47:59experience because I grew up to it, not because I'm breeding or
- 1:48:04investigating the political side how to resolve it.
- 1:48:11I can tell you 1000% as a person who was growing up with Muslims
- 1:48:19in between two villages in southeast Jerusalem to Bahel and
- 1:48:22Jabul Mukabul, and as a person who understand the language, as
- 1:48:29a person who understand the culture.
- 1:48:31I was going into a mosque almost every weekend because I was
- 1:48:35playing with my friends, the Arabs that was growing up next
- 1:48:38to me. I can tell you 100% and I'm not,
- 1:48:41I'm not representing Israel, Israel.
- 1:48:43I'm not representing my country in in in a political way.
- 1:48:49I represent my culture. And I can tell you that the day
- 1:48:55that people will stop trying to think or educate or kill or want
- 1:49:05to kill Jewish people, that's the days that we will told our
- 1:49:10weapon downs because we wish not to send our kids to the
- 1:49:16military. And my father, you know, when I
- 1:49:24was a little boy, I always ask him, am I going to go to the
- 1:49:28military? Am I going to military?
- 1:49:29Say I wish that the one day when you're going to grow up, you,
- 1:49:32you won't need to go to the military.
- 1:49:34And I'm saying the same thing to my kids.
- 1:49:36You know, I don't want them to go to the military.
- 1:49:40And we as a culture, we, we do want to live in peace, but we
- 1:49:50will never put our weapon down as long as there is an ideology
- 1:49:54of whether to kill the Jews, you know, we will, we will die for
- 1:49:59our identity. You know, it's, that's the
- 1:50:04solution. That's the solution.
- 1:50:07That's it. There was no other solutions.
- 1:50:09I don't care about any, any political whatever agendas.
- 1:50:15The day that we will feel that people want to eliminate the
- 1:50:22Jewish state, that's the day that we won't have a military
- 1:50:25anymore. And I moved to the state because
- 1:50:29of that. I didn't want to live in this
- 1:50:31world. I grew up into this world.
- 1:50:34I, I had an apartment and I had that when I was 10 years old.
- 1:50:38I had the knife. I was walking with a knife since
- 1:50:40I was 10 because a lot of Alps used to attack us too.
- 1:50:44When I was a kid. My wife grew up with me in the
- 1:50:48same street from the same neighborhood.
- 1:50:51And I know she had friend that almost got raped and she almost
- 1:50:56got raped. She was sexually assault my wife
- 1:51:00when she was when she was young. And this is by Muslims, Arabs
- 1:51:06who has Israeli citizenship, who believes that all Jews need to
- 1:51:13be need to die. As I said, not all of them like
- 1:51:17that, but the big majority of them that the majority of them
- 1:51:21are. And and we've been living this
- 1:51:27life, you know, and I moved to the state to pursued my out
- 1:51:36career because because we want a colorful life.
- 1:51:44And, and now after so many years that we had colorful life, we
- 1:51:51realized that nothing has been changed.
- 1:51:55Holocaust is back and and that's what's up.
- 1:51:59That's that's what we had. So I hope the idea will finish
- 1:52:05it, at least the Hamas. I don't know if it will finish
- 1:52:09the ideology. What do you What would you want?
- 1:52:14Your fellow Americans, Your fellow Los Angelinos?
- 1:52:19You've shared so much important information.
- 1:52:21What kind of response would you like to see from your fellow
- 1:52:28Americans at this time? You said this is another
- 1:52:30Holocaust now that you're facing.
- 1:52:39I want people to look at themselves, at the mirror and
- 1:52:46ask yourself, without no one watching, you don't believe
- 1:52:53because you hate. You don't believe because you
- 1:52:56don't have enough proof. And if you do hate, you're part,
- 1:53:05you're part of this and NASA cars, you're part of this war.
- 1:53:13You're responsible for this war. I think we got to a point when,
- 1:53:22and this is something people don't realize yet, we got to a
- 1:53:27point where it's a silent third World War.
- 1:53:36And I don't think there is a middle side.
- 1:53:43There is, there is this side or this side like a side and should
- 1:53:54be honest with yourself and look at yourself in the mirror and
- 1:53:57ask yourself the right questions.
- 1:54:00Where can people, if they feel maybe they don't know, they
- 1:54:03haven't picked a side because they say, well, I don't have
- 1:54:06enough information. I'm confused.
- 1:54:08I see all of this stuff about how bad Israel is.
- 1:54:11So, you know, they say, I, I, I don't like picking a side.
- 1:54:15Where do you recommend that they go?
- 1:54:17Talk to Israelis who lives in Israel.
- 1:54:19Talk to an Israeli who lives in. Israel who lives in Israel?
- 1:54:21In Israel? Talk to Israelis who lives in
- 1:54:24Israel. They know.
- 1:54:30Where can people find your work? You're using your art now to
- 1:54:34spread awareness about what's happening to the Jewish people,
- 1:54:39to Israelis. So my work is now now in
- 1:54:47downtown Los Angeles online. You can find it, Tom El Perez.
- 1:54:53Just Google it you. Everything will come up right
- 1:54:56away. Instagram.
- 1:54:58I'm very active on Instagram. I'm actually having a huge art
- 1:55:02installation. It's called When the Music
- 1:55:04Stopped. It's about the massacre.
- 1:55:08I'm doing two of them, two installations right now in Miami
- 1:55:12next week for Art Basel, and it's going to be South Beach and
- 1:55:16Fort Lauderdale. And yeah, that's exciting.
- 1:55:22That is exciting. How can people support your
- 1:55:24work? It's it's, I think I follow on
- 1:55:29on, on Instagram. We'll give you a lot of
- 1:55:31information because I'm, I'm mainly posting and active over
- 1:55:34there. So different leads and how to
- 1:55:36participate, Volunteers. And we are looking for
- 1:55:39volunteers, we're looking for supporters, we are looking for
- 1:55:43people to come and even watch it and look at that.
- 1:55:48Yeah, it's very emotional and we found, we found it very
- 1:55:52therapeutic also. Like it's very, it's very
- 1:55:54helping people to heal from traumas that they have like they
- 1:55:58got only when they watch videos over and they cried at home and
- 1:56:01even if they were not in Israel. So a lot of people having trauma
- 1:56:05on that part. So it's very helping to come and
- 1:56:09see what we're doing because it's very, it's putting you in
- 1:56:13in a zone and and letting you release, release it in in
- 1:56:18different ways. So how do you recommend it
- 1:56:20actually to come and look at that?
- 1:56:22Thank you, Omar. Thank you so much for taking the
- 1:56:24time to talk with me. Sure.
- 1:56:26Thank you. We'll link through stuff because
- 1:56:28I think people should see it. And thanks for your courage and
- 1:56:31sharing what you saw and speaking freely about how you
- 1:56:35see the events that are unfolding right now.
- 1:56:38Thank you. Thank you so much for listening
