- 0:00Alan Carroll: Welcome to the mindful you podcast. I'm Alan
- 0:06Carroll. And I'm your host. And today, we have a guest who has
- 0:16traveled from the physical to the metaphysical, metaphysical
- 0:25being spiritual, and has traveled back and forth four
- 0:32times. And she describes the travels as near death
- 0:38experiences. So what's it like when you actually have moved
- 0:44over to that place of, of death, and then to be able to come back
- 0:50again, into the, into the physical, and describe what that
- 0:56experience was like. And Donna has wonderful experiences of
- 1:05that love, and that compassion, that oneness feeling that is
- 1:11there in that space beyond the physical. So I'm excited to be
- 1:15able to have her today share with you, what she has learned,
- 1:21and what she has experienced on these travels back and forth
- 1:27into that spiritual domain of consciousness. Donna, welcome.
- 1:32Welcome to the mindful you. Podcast.
- 1:36Donna Fairhurst: I know, I don't believe it, I know I've
- 1:38experienced it, we are all a part of the field of infinite
- 1:44unity. And that infinite Unity, Unity is God Creator Source,
- 1:48whatever that is for you, in your space, and that we are here
- 1:56and there to make a difference with our energy, we are one
- 1:59thread in the blanket of infinite unity.
- 2:02Alan Carroll: Hmm. That's a I've heard it expressed many ways.
- 2:07And that's a very beautiful way. Beautiful way to express it.
- 2:11Thank you the idea of the eyes listening now, Alan Watts and
- 2:17Alan Watts, just talking about the self and other. And he says
- 2:21the illusion is you got the self over here, which is me. And we
- 2:24got the other, which is you. And it appears to be separate. And
- 2:30he says, Well imagine a magnet has a polar opposite have that
- 2:34have the positive, the negative, they're both the same magnet,
- 2:37and they're both needed to balance out. So you need the
- 2:40other for you and you need you for the other. But it's all one
- 2:43magnets, all one field of awareness. And you have that
- 2:49realization, which to me means you've been on a journey. And I
- 2:54see the books. And so you've you've taken your journey, and
- 2:58you have shared it with the world. So we have a few minutes
- 3:01with my audience to be able to share a little bit of your
- 3:04journey, which created the breakthroughs for you to have
- 3:06the realizations in order to be able to articulate the way you
- 3:09articulated what love what's a little bit of your, your your
- 3:14journey, which ignited the flame of your passion.
- 3:17Donna Fairhurst: Well, I was born technically legally blind
- 3:21shortly, one year after that I contracted polio in the epidemic
- 3:25of 1952. So I survived blindness and polio. And then was really
- 3:33connected to spirit during that time, even from you know,
- 3:36infancy through to toddlerhood and to the nursery school child
- 3:41and when I started to speak a lot because I was very
- 3:46introverted child by virtue of my experiments experience. I was
- 3:51talking about angels and and the father mother, and and telling
- 3:57my mum and dad, I have another Mum and Dad, and they're over
- 4:01there. And that at the end, of course, it was very
- 4:04disconcerting for my parents. I thought I was a bit a bit too
- 4:07lolly. But they let me reel with it until I got to school and
- 4:11then they said this is going to cause too much trouble. You'd
- 4:12have to stop this nonsense. And I still would still come out in
- 4:16barn voluntarily. And then when I was 12 my mother took me to a
- 4:19psychologist hypnotherapist to have me hypnotized to remove my
- 4:25dreams is what she called them. Sure it didn't work. couldn't
- 4:28work. Get rid of the demons.
- 4:30Alan Carroll: Yes, it couldn't work. So I just recessed young
- 4:32lady, your present. Sort of Yeah, I just
- 4:35Donna Fairhurst: went undercover and went into the closet and
- 4:38excuse me, I'm just recovering from COVID. So I went into the
- 4:41closet and I really didn't come out. Very often. I would take a
- 4:45peek here and there and I had also cancer and two divorces and
- 4:51I had bankruptcy from a business and through 911 No fault of my
- 4:55own, and just had challenge after challenge. that grew me
- 5:00and grew me I died four times and came back to tell about it.
- 5:03And I teach from it now and live from it now and it's the fiber
- 5:07of my infinite being.
- 5:09Alan Carroll: So you've had a near death experience for that I
- 5:13can remember, lords trying to tell you something on it. Well,
- 5:17I'm
- 5:17Donna Fairhurst: writing these are these are compilation books
- 5:20that I contributed to I set a my outrageous goal for 2022, which
- 5:25I set on December 31. It's taped up on my desk here was the first
- 5:29goal was I will become an inspirational best selling
- 5:32author in 2020 to four days later, a woman with the same
- 5:37surname as me that we are no relation called me and said,
- 5:39I've heard a lot about you. Would you like to write a
- 5:41chapter for our compilation book? And I said, What will it
- 5:45cost? You said, zero, I'm fielding all the publishing
- 5:48costs, and every cent we make is going to breast cancer research.
- 5:51I said, I'm in Alright, anything that's very nice. In four
- 5:55months, I contributed to four best selling compilations. And
- 5:59I'm now writing my own book yo yo to God, which is my
- 6:02experience of being like a Yo yo, that he's kind of he she's
- 6:05kind of got me going up and down.
- 6:10Alan Carroll: The I've not had a near death experience, I have
- 6:15heard about near death experiences, where and so I'd
- 6:18like you to be able to describe it for the audience of what your
- 6:22experience was, that gave you that awareness that there's
- 6:27something beyond the body going on here.
- 6:31Donna Fairhurst: Each experience was unique in its own, and each
- 6:34one was longer and more intense than the previous one. In the
- 6:39first one I just went into, into the into light, I had no
- 6:45awareness that I had left my body or anything, I was just
- 6:48suddenly, in this space of of light. And in the space of
- 6:52light. It looked like the way I saw auras and colors because
- 6:57when I was experiencing their blindness, everybody was like a
- 7:00giant Christmas tree to me, I just saw their colors until they
- 7:04were very close to me. And then they would take shape and, and
- 7:07form but any buddy more than three feet away from me was just
- 7:10this kaleidoscope of color. We're talking auras, or it's
- 7:14yes,
- 7:14Alan Carroll: okay, so you are able to see the auras around
- 7:17you, you're able to see the energy field of the person in
- 7:19front of you.
- 7:20Donna Fairhurst: I've always been able to do that. It's been
- 7:23it's one of the things that I had to put in the closet,
- 7:26because I my parents didn't like me talking about everybody's
- 7:29colors. But I learned through that because that is the way
- 7:32that that I integrated the spaces I was in. So in my first
- 7:37near death experience, I just learned that all there is is
- 7:40love. That's it. On the other side there. They're hell in
- 7:43heaven. That's a human construction. The old boys wrote
- 7:46it in the book, and that's the way it is right over there. It's
- 7:51just love. There's no judgment. Everybody goes to heaven or not
- 7:56judgment is a human construction and a human condition. God has
- 8:00no judgment does not judge God he she it whatever it is for
- 8:04you, Creator Source. big spider in the sky, I've heard it
- 8:09described as many things for me, it is just the all consuming
- 8:13energy of love. And all that is the next experience led me to a
- 8:18deeper understanding of it, I was there a little bit longer.
- 8:21And I came back with one principle. And one principle
- 8:25only called the comprehensible and I took me 20 years to
- 8:30integrate that into my life and be living it for myself. And now
- 8:34it's the first principle I teach in my program, and the next
- 8:41experience, let's go
- 8:42Alan Carroll: over the comprehensible. What What do you
- 8:46mean by the calm principle?
- 8:49Donna Fairhurst: Well, essentially, as human beings we
- 8:52are our body is a bus that has an emotional and physical and
- 8:57mental connection to our spiritual soul which resides in
- 9:01our body. So our body is conceived. And then our soul
- 9:06joins our body. When our soul joins our body. That's when we
- 9:10have life. That's generally around the time that a mother
- 9:15would feel the first kick kind of thing. That's the soul making
- 9:19its presence known before that your dormant car waiting for
- 9:22your motor to be turned on. So the soul comes in starts taking
- 9:27over driving. You have the Mind Map heart emotional battle of
- 9:32who's in the driver's seat?
- 9:34Alan Carroll: Who's driving the show? Yeah, yeah, it's always
- 9:37Donna Fairhurst: the soul.
- 9:39Alan Carroll: But the ego thinks it's in charge.
- 9:41Donna Fairhurst: It does. So I take the mind map and the heart
- 9:45map and I bring it together to explain this space of sacred
- 9:48soul self and how love and grace, self and soul combine in
- 9:54that space. And from that is the comprehensible because as
- 9:57humans, we tend to have have the experience of being in a state
- 10:02of evaluation or judgment of people, places and situations.
- 10:06When we are in the mindmap. We are in chaos and incoherence,
- 10:12the mind doesn't know anything else, but chaos and incoherence,
- 10:15because it's always jumping from one thing to another. And the
- 10:18only job it has is to keep you safe. So when you step outside
- 10:22the box, and do think feel be anything that doesn't feel safe
- 10:26to the ego mind is going to shut you down and have you evaluating
- 10:31everything. And when you evaluate everything, you create
- 10:34more chaos and incoherence, you're in the mind map, it's not
- 10:38heart centered. To create common coherence, you have to find
- 10:43value in every person, place or situation good, bad or
- 10:47indifferent. There's a value there, because at some point,
- 10:50you made a choice to show up in this experience to learn from
- 10:54it. So if you show up to learn from it, then you move into
- 10:58chaos, common common coherence, and then you're finding value,
- 11:04you are creating soulful solutions, and the cycle
- 11:07repeats.
- 11:09Alan Carroll: I do, I do a demonstration. And I talk about
- 11:16the the opposite of calmness is agitation. I take a bottle and I
- 11:22shake up the glitter. I said when you get agitated, you're
- 11:25all agitated. But when you are able to take the breath, and
- 11:29you're able to breathe, all of a sudden, everything becomes calm
- 11:35and clear. And the challenge of it is is how do you how do you
- 11:39manage those thoughts, which is the is the mind map you're
- 11:43talking about, which is very chaotic. It's a it's a it's a
- 11:46mental storm going on inside your head, especially when you
- 11:50see something you don't like. Yeah, then then you get really
- 11:54upset. And that's that's affected your identity, some
- 11:57somebody has attacked your identity, which is your ego. But
- 12:00with that love place, love places like the sky, rather than
- 12:05the clouds, you identify with the sky, which is the Beingness.
- 12:08And all of a sudden, you see the thought, but the gravitational
- 12:14effect that the thought has on you. I make that decision.
- 12:18Myself.
- 12:18Donna Fairhurst: Yes, it's all a divine choice that you make. You
- 12:22know, and I have so many people talk about failure, failure. And
- 12:25forgiveness has been a big theme from tool for 2022. And there is
- 12:31no failure. Failure is simply a tool to challenge us to dig deep
- 12:37and rediscover our gifts and then apply them in our divine
- 12:42mission that we chose before we ever came in here.
- 12:45Alan Carroll: However, the problem with most folks is
- 12:47failure is looked upon as as bad as something to avoid, not to
- 12:52reveal. Keep it hidden, keep it secret, Keep it keep it in the
- 12:55closet. Because if I if I if you saw me and branded me as a
- 12:58failure, then you wouldn't want to be with me.
- 13:01Donna Fairhurst: Well, then, then you're totally in chaos and
- 13:04incoherence and not no close to calm because you're judging
- 13:07yourself or you're letting other people judge you and
- 13:11Alan Carroll: because you're judged. You bet, you bet and you
- 13:15and mindfulness is to be in the moment. And with no thought, and
- 13:22no thought a judgment is a thought. And so when you are not
- 13:26judging, I teach the course of miracles. And in the Course of
- 13:31Miracles, the 365 lessons very first lesson is whatever you see
- 13:38in your environment, your hands, your ideas, everything in your
- 13:41environment, has no meaning. What do you mean it has no
- 13:46meaning? It has no no judgment, there's no, there's no, there's
- 13:52no words you're going to use to describe good, bad, right?
- 13:55Wrong. It doesn't have any meaning and immediately the ego.
- 14:00Of course, it has a meaning cities, pictures of my family.
- 14:03And the second lesson is everything you see you add the
- 14:08meaning to so you paint the description in your mind. And
- 14:12most people don't realize that they don't realize that you
- 14:14paint the description of what you see, versus because then I
- 14:19can paint it differently. I can paint it exactly the way you
- 14:22were talking about that I am a I'm a force of the Lord and the
- 14:25force of the God God cannot do for me what God cannot do
- 14:29through me. So allows me to be loving and kind and
- 14:33compassionate and and that's the clear sky and not non
- 14:37judgmental, clarity and calm.
- 14:40Donna Fairhurst: That's what I experienced in my second near
- 14:42death experience. And shortly after that, I was really blessed
- 14:47to have somebody put Neale Donald Walsch, his conference
- 14:49first conversations with God book in my hand. And it was the
- 14:52first time in my life. I felt validated. Yeah, I felt that I
- 14:59know that Yes, yes, I am this Yes. And I actually have never
- 15:04written to a person before like that. And I sat down and wrote
- 15:09this long, long letter, and then I wasn't going to mail it. And I
- 15:12had it in my purse and I took it out and I was going to rip it up
- 15:15and throw it in the garbage. And one of the people working for me
- 15:18accidentally picked it up when I wasn't at my desk and put it in
- 15:20the mail. So it went. Seven days later, I'm in my little house in
- 15:24the cabin in the Rockies, and my phone rings and Hi, Donna. This
- 15:28is Neil. Neil Neil who Neale Donald Walsch. He wrote to me, I
- 15:33want to have a discussion. And I literally, I had this long
- 15:37tension cord on my thank God extension cord on my phone, and
- 15:39I just kind of leaned against the wall and sunk down onto the
- 15:41floor and said, Who Katie? And it was so wonderful. For the
- 15:47first time in my life, I felt expansion in a way that I was
- 15:53understood. Yes, it was just coming out of the closet in a
- 15:58big way for me spiritually. And I absolutely adore that man was
- 16:05fortunate to be in many of his workshops, and I'm grateful that
- 16:11he was a vehicle for me to find myself.
- 16:15Alan Carroll: Yep, yep. When when things like that happen, it
- 16:22really validates this idea that there's somebody else running
- 16:25the show here other than you. And just relax. Go with the
- 16:31flow. forgiveness. Forgiveness is a big deal. And most people
- 16:41have a very difficult time forgiving. And because I've been
- 16:45wronged, Donna, I've been wrong. And for me to forgive you. That
- 16:51is, that is that would entail the sacrifice of my righteous
- 16:56wrath. I'm not going to sacrifice my righteous wrath.
- 16:59I'm not going to I'm not going to that's the total denial of
- 17:02the truth. No, God damn it. So the ego really wants to defend
- 17:09the fact that it's been been been attacked, and but
- 17:13forgiveness. How would you describe forgiveness in your
- 17:17reality and the importance of
- 17:19Donna Fairhurst: forgiveness is the ability to move beyond
- 17:23judgment to find and create value in every experience to
- 17:29expand your consciousness and your awareness of all that is.
- 17:34Alan Carroll: Go ahead, say that again. That's beautiful. Oh,
- 17:36gosh,
- 17:37Donna Fairhurst: I really feel I have a hard time re re iterating
- 17:42the same thing.
- 17:43Alan Carroll: It's just, just just recreate it doesn't have to
- 17:45be the exact same words, just recreating what you just said,
- 17:48forgiveness
- 17:49Donna Fairhurst: is a space and a gift that you give yourself to
- 17:56expand beyond the planet, the human plane of judgment and
- 18:01conditions, and failure and challenge to make a choice, a
- 18:09conscientious heart centered choice to find value in whatever
- 18:15person, place or situation is put in your path, that it is for
- 18:20your higher growth, yes, and how you choose deliberately from
- 18:26Sacred soul, self and heart centered. My goal is to show
- 18:32teach, embody, how to marry the mind, map with the heart map to
- 18:39create sacred soul self, from which, when you're in a
- 18:43situation that you are not feeling the love, for whatever
- 18:48reason, you can't bring yourself to that space of love. You can
- 18:52then pull out of the deck of your life choices, the grace
- 18:56card, because grace is the trump of love. You can be grace when
- 19:02you can't be or feel love. And we all have had experiences in
- 19:06our life, where we could not feel love and find value in the
- 19:10person, place or situation in front of us to deal with. If we
- 19:14take a step back, take a breath and lean into grace. We can cope
- 19:21with conscious awareness and go through grace to love
- 19:30Alan Carroll: and grace is connected with forgiveness.
- 19:36Donna Fairhurst: Absolutely the first thing you have to do is
- 19:38forgive yourself for anything, everything that you ever thought
- 19:43was ever wrong. out of sync bad. Everything you ever did. You
- 19:49have to forgive yourself
- 19:50Alan Carroll: and what would forgiving myself look like? Joy
- 19:57do I have to say something to myself be like go What a burden.
- 20:00Say, Allen, you're gonna forgive yourself for the is there
- 20:03something I can do actively to practice forgiveness,
- 20:07Donna Fairhurst: there's any number of things we can do. The
- 20:09most important thing is to find value in love you do what you
- 20:13love, love what you do, be who you love, show the people you
- 20:18love that love and lead them to know how to forgive, because you
- 20:25are the model of it.
- 20:27Alan Carroll: Wow. That's wonderful. That's wonderful.
- 20:30What a, what a, just just a just touching little surface of a
- 20:35conversation with with you has been really a bright light of
- 20:42meeting somebody who is able to articulate that trance, the
- 20:48abstraction of what we're talking about, from a heart
- 20:53experiential point of view, which makes it real, and it's
- 20:57not a, it's not a it's not a belief system. It's a it's an
- 21:01experience. And that is really a goldmine. because not a lot of
- 21:07people have that experience. And it's nice to know that that
- 21:10experience exist, that gives people hope, that that suffering
- 21:15that we experience in the physical with the ego, there's a
- 21:19there's a way out of here, if you're interested in being a way
- 21:22out, and I see that you're a healer, interested in being a
- 21:25guide, who is a guide, guiding people out of the chaos into
- 21:30that calm, clear space, which I call mindfulness. The all the
- 21:36being mukti, Nirvana, enlightenment, that empty space
- 21:43of nothingness, in which there is no judgment. And there is no
- 21:47right or wrong. All there is is stillness, and calmness and
- 21:53peacefulness and love and careful and then you speak with
- 22:00the love energy, not the ego energy, you speak with the love
- 22:04energy and you and you speak with the love energy. So I
- 22:07really appreciate the love you've given me today. And the
- 22:11and the stories that you shared. They're very, they're very
- 22:14moving. They're very moving stories.
- 22:16Donna Fairhurst: Thank you so much. I've been blessed with a
- 22:19with what people would think were insurmountable challenges.
- 22:23And at the time I was in them. I thought they were internet, you
- 22:28know, insurmountable challenges until I made a choice that they
- 22:30weren't. Yep. And as soon as you make that choice that you are
- 22:34not the challenge. You are the solution to the challenge.
- 22:38That's why I call my company soulful solutions. So full fu ll
- 22:43Yeah. From when you're in that sacred soul self, you can create
- 22:46soul based solutions.
- 22:48Alan Carroll: Very exciting. How will my audience be able to
- 22:51contact you, Donna?
- 22:52Donna Fairhurst: Oh, the most simple way is my website www dot
- 22:56Donna fair hearst.com. On the website, you're going to find
- 23:00all the contact information for me you can get my clearing and

- 23:12the opportunity of of talking to a fellow a fellow being on the
- 23:17path to spread inspiration. Thank you.
- 23:21Donna Fairhurst: Let the journey continue.
- 23:23Alan Carroll: God bless. God bless you.
