Latest / Life For Toledo / John 4 21 God's Command to Love
Transcript
- 0:00My mind settled again on 1st John 421 today where it says,
- 0:06And this commandment we have from him, that the one who loves God should love
- 0:11his brother also. Jesus really desired for us to love other Christians and
- 0:16really other people in our lives the way God loves us. It's a challenging
- 0:22standard really when you think about how awesome God's love is, but this much is
- 0:26for sure. He told us with no uncertainty that we ought to love our brother, love
- 0:31our neighbor, love others in our lives as God loves us. It does say specifically
- 0:36brother there. Here's a basic overarching command for Christian brothers to
- 0:41follow. God loves us. He shows us the riches of His grace and mercy and as a
- 0:45natural extension of that love, He flows through us to love others. I find in
- 0:50myself a need to get it all right. I desire to reach new heights in Jesus, but
- 0:55then I screw it up all again. God help me love others so that I can truly be what
- 1:00you have made me to be, yours. If you're enjoying these encouragement calls, let
- 1:06me give you a blessing you might share with someone else. If you know someone
- 1:09who needs these encouragement calls, you can have them text, hashtag that's the
- 1:15number sign, hashtag lift me up, all one word, lift me up, L-I-F-T-M-E-U-P, lift me
- 1:23up, hashtag lift me up to 22300. So as if 22300 was the phone number, you put
- 1:31that in and then type hashtag lift me up and that person will be added to these
- 1:36encouragement calls as long as there's room, which right now we don't have a
- 1:39waiting list, but there's not a lot of room. But if you know somebody you think
- 1:43would be blessed, share it with them. And if I don't talk to you again before then,
- 1:46I'm sure I will marry you.
