- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things in it to be good. It ste
- 0:24Speaker 1: listening to mother for please, I don't join jo. You
- 0:59Speaker 1: gotta turn you, you gotta turn to turn them out. Turn.
- 1:43Speaker 1: You haven't got to turn them out to turn turn
- 1:46Speaker 1: the water the water go. Come, come on your thing,
- 2:02Speaker 1: I show well, good morning everybody. You are listening to
- 2:05Speaker 1: the voice. Come on dig me now one and old
- 2:08Speaker 1: is Steve Harvey got a radio show particular me this morning.
- 2:15Speaker 1: Steve Harvey got a radio show. Feel with nothing but
- 2:19Speaker 1: joy and hope about it too. You know, it's a
- 2:22Speaker 1: great thing to be able to wake up in the
- 2:23Speaker 1: morning with peace in your heart and joy. Peace and
- 2:27Speaker 1: joy is is immeasurable. It has a value attached to it,
- 2:33Speaker 1: and I have no idea what it is. It's invaluable.
- 2:36Speaker 1: It is worth so much more than any amount of
- 2:39Speaker 1: money you can make. Peace and joy. I have not
- 2:43Speaker 1: always had that. I have not always been a peaceful
- 2:48Speaker 1: person or a person who lived his life in a
- 2:52Speaker 1: joy spirit. It took an arrival at this moment. Some
- 2:56Speaker 1: people arrive sooner than others. I wish I had arrived
- 3:01Speaker 1: at this point sooner, but I think it was necessary
- 3:05Speaker 1: for me to learn a few things too. That's the
- 3:09Speaker 1: amazing thing I've learned about life is that instead of
- 3:13Speaker 1: reflecting on your past incidences and calling them failures, instead
- 3:19Speaker 1: of focusing on the negative and calling them bad times,
- 3:26Speaker 1: I look at them now as experiences. I had to
- 3:29Speaker 1: have those experiences that were negative, that were good, positive, wrong,
- 3:36Speaker 1: even I had to have all those experiences to become
- 3:41Speaker 1: to shape who we are today. We all have to
- 3:45Speaker 1: have them. If you look back at all the negative
- 3:48Speaker 1: experiences you've had, all the things that you called failures,
- 3:53Speaker 1: all the businesses I started that went under, all of
- 3:56Speaker 1: the jobs I had that I was fired from, all
- 3:59Speaker 1: the shows that were canceled, all of the times I
- 4:03Speaker 1: thought I was gonna get something happened in my way
- 4:06Speaker 1: and turned out I didn't get it at all. When
- 4:08Speaker 1: you look at all of it, all of it, hopefully
- 4:12Speaker 1: along the way, what you have done as a person
- 4:14Speaker 1: is you've taken those negatives and those failures and you've
- 4:19Speaker 1: used them for what they actually are. They are experiences,
- 4:24Speaker 1: and they've now created in you an experienced person, and
- 4:29Speaker 1: you know that is worth something. That's then it becomes
- 4:34Speaker 1: a positive. But what too many people do is they
- 4:38Speaker 1: let the negative things that have happened in their life.
- 4:41Speaker 1: They allow the failures that have happened in them lives
- 4:44Speaker 1: never to manifest themselves as experiences. And you sit up
- 4:48Speaker 1: there and you dwell on it, and you dwell on
- 4:51Speaker 1: it until you have this woe is me attitude. Stop
- 4:55Speaker 1: looking at it like that, y'all. You go through things
- 4:58Speaker 1: in order to become the person that you are today.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I'll tell you who you sometimes have to sit down
- 5:04Speaker 1: and talk to. Sometimes you are to sit down to
- 5:06Speaker 1: an inmate that really gets it, an inmate that says, man,
- 5:11Speaker 1: I've actually heard inmates say it to me and write
- 5:13Speaker 1: to me, and they've said things like, man, come into prison,
- 5:18Speaker 1: save my life. Now those of you have never gone,
- 5:20Speaker 1: how can he say a thing like that? But some men, no, Man,
- 5:24Speaker 1: I was so far out there that if I had
- 5:27Speaker 1: stayed out there, I wouldn't even be here today. This
- 5:30Speaker 1: actually allowed me to stop, spend some time with myself
- 5:33Speaker 1: and learn some things about me. Now does that happen
- 5:36Speaker 1: for everybody like that? Now? But here's a person who
- 5:39Speaker 1: was taking an experience that could be considered a failure
- 5:42Speaker 1: or a negative and turning it into a positive and
- 5:45Speaker 1: using it to enrich their lives. You can do it
- 5:48Speaker 1: no matter what your set of circumstances is. I recommend
- 5:51Speaker 1: to everybody that you try changing your outlook in order
- 5:55Speaker 1: to change your outcome. Everything that happens to you that's
- 5:59Speaker 1: negative or you can said of failure their experiences. You've
- 6:02Speaker 1: got to go through these things in order to have
- 6:04Speaker 1: the knowledge that you have today. So I wish that
- 6:07Speaker 1: I had come to this arrival, that I may now
- 6:10Speaker 1: this place of peace and joy. But then guess what
- 6:13Speaker 1: I would not know what I know. I could not
- 6:16Speaker 1: share some of the things that I'm able to share
- 6:19Speaker 1: if I had not gone through some of them. And
- 6:21Speaker 1: sometimes that's the purpose of them, is to teach you
- 6:24Speaker 1: a lesson because you know, God has a plan for you,
- 6:26Speaker 1: He really really does. And eventually he can use you
- 6:30Speaker 1: no matter how old you are, and he can use
- 6:33Speaker 1: you no matter how young you are. If you just say, okay,
- 6:36Speaker 1: I'm ready to hear your plan. I've tried mine, mine
- 6:39Speaker 1: ain't worked out. What's your plan for me? God? What
- 6:43Speaker 1: do you want me to do? That's why I say
- 6:45Speaker 1: every day Steve already got radio show, y'all, because man,
- 6:48Speaker 1: I ain't see it coming. I didn't see that coming.
- 6:51Speaker 1: I ain't see this book coming. I ain't seen I
- 6:53Speaker 1: ain't seen it. Half of the amazing things that are
- 6:56Speaker 1: happened to me, I didn't plan them. I was sitting there, man,
- 7:00Speaker 1: asking God for some direction. And then I got smart
- 7:04Speaker 1: enough to stay watchful, be a hard worker. Now because faithful,
- 7:07Speaker 1: our works is there and it came. And I remind
- 7:10Speaker 1: you of this. God has given all of you a gift.
- 7:13Speaker 1: Every last one of you listening has a gift. God
- 7:16Speaker 1: has never created a soul that he did not provide
- 7:19Speaker 1: a gift to. God gives everyone a gift, and a
- 7:23Speaker 1: gift is not just singing, rapping entertainment. The richer gifts
- 7:28Speaker 1: are much more than that. Teachers are gifted people who
- 7:31Speaker 1: really have the gift of sharing information. That's a gift,
- 7:36Speaker 1: you know, and in that you can become great. You
- 7:40Speaker 1: know a lot of people people think that successful and
- 7:45Speaker 1: greatness is the same thing. Cornell West said it at
- 7:48Speaker 1: my daughter's graduation. He was a spokesperson. He said something
- 7:52Speaker 1: so pointed. He said, don't ever confuse success with greatness.
- 7:57Speaker 1: The two have nothing to do with each other. See,
- 8:00Speaker 1: people determine success about money and fame and all this here,
- 8:03Speaker 1: but greatness. Greatness ain't got nothing to do with your money.
- 8:07Speaker 1: It ain't got nothing to do with your fame. It's
- 8:09Speaker 1: how you conduct your life. It's how meaningful and significant
- 8:13Speaker 1: you become in your community, at your church, on your job,
- 8:18Speaker 1: to the cub Scout unit that you run, to the
- 8:20Speaker 1: little girls lives that you change, that that little center
- 8:23Speaker 1: in the hood. Who are you just one place of
- 8:26Speaker 1: hope to so many people and they come back. And
- 8:29Speaker 1: I used the example of Lou Danzler who passed away
- 8:31Speaker 1: in LA who had the Boys and Girls Challenges Club
- 8:34Speaker 1: out in La. And he wasn't a rich man at all,
- 8:37Speaker 1: and if you walk by him, you wouldn't even know
- 8:39Speaker 1: who he was. But if you look at all the
- 8:41Speaker 1: people who have gone on to become politicians, who have
- 8:45Speaker 1: gone on to become CEO's, who have gone on to
- 8:48Speaker 1: become athletes, that have passed through this man's small building
- 8:51Speaker 1: in the hood in La, he was a great trust
- 8:56Speaker 1: me man prad changes things, I said all the time.
- 8:59Speaker 1: But when you see people will become successful or great,
- 9:01Speaker 1: that somebody praying somewhere may not even beat them. Maybe
- 9:05Speaker 1: it's day Mama. You know, I think of Tiger Woods
- 9:07Speaker 1: and all the greatness he's accomplished. You know, they always
- 9:10Speaker 1: talk about as farther than all this here, somebody somewhere
- 9:13Speaker 1: praying for Tiger Woods. I got cash money riding on
- 9:17Speaker 1: that Tiger Woods. Mama is a praying woman or something.
- 9:21Speaker 1: My mother was. She prayed me into this place because
- 9:24Speaker 1: she should call me all the time. Praying for your boy,
- 9:26Speaker 1: and prayer changes things. It really does. Try it today.
- 9:31Speaker 1: It can change you. It has changed millions of people.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Open up yourself to the greatness that's in you, because
- 9:37Speaker 1: God is giving you a gift. Now the fact that
- 9:40Speaker 1: you ain't using it. Who fought you think that is?
- 9:42Speaker 1: I'm just telling you you got one, and if you
- 9:45Speaker 1: start praying about it, it'll manifest itself and you can
- 9:49Speaker 1: become one or two things, successful or great or both.
- 9:55Speaker 1: You can make the decision today, ladies, Oh, hold on,
- 10:05Speaker 1: hold on. I remember how he used to do this, ladies, ladies, ladies,
- 10:16Speaker 1: how my ladies doing out there? Y'all? Remember time when
- 10:19Speaker 1: he did that, back when thoroughly convinced he was sexy.
- 10:25Speaker 1: I mean, it has wore off a little bit. No,
- 10:28Speaker 1: he's convinced, but yeah, not thoroughly go it. Doubt has
- 10:33Speaker 1: creft in a little bit. This Back when he was
- 10:36Speaker 1: I'm talking about all you couldn't tell him nothing. A
- 10:41Speaker 1: lot of people hadn't seen him yet because he had
- 10:44Speaker 1: just got on the radio, so he wasn't famous like
- 10:47Speaker 1: he is now. So what it happened was, you know,
- 10:51Speaker 1: the doubts started sinking in over the years, Like people
- 10:55Speaker 1: really started when they saw him live and they go, oh,
- 11:01Speaker 1: that's what's wrong, that's what they say. No, no, no,
- 11:06Speaker 1: I want you to get me wrong. Oh, they enjoyed
- 11:08Speaker 1: the show, they love this comedy, they love pren they
- 11:13Speaker 1: love all that. It's just when they seem live. I
- 11:17Speaker 1: ain't talking about performing. I'm talking about physically let them down.
- 11:23Speaker 1: I let them down physical you know I'm talking. You know,
- 11:25Speaker 1: they see the size of your hands, they see the
- 11:29Speaker 1: actual hype and they go, oh, he cute. You go
- 11:36Speaker 1: from real sexy to cute. Hey, Good morning, Happy National
- 11:43Speaker 1: Radio Day, Steve Colin. It is that National Radio Day.
- 11:49Speaker 1: Morning Junior, one morning, I'm morning everybody, nephew, timmy, Oh, ladies, ladies, ladies, ladies, Indeed,

- 12:18Speaker 1: Let's do a throwback show, Jesse ever, then let's just
- 12:23Speaker 1: do a throwback bit. Let's do three of them today,
- 12:27Speaker 1: three throw bits today. I let the ladies pick what
- 12:32Speaker 1: the bits are. Tommy, Yeah, but caller gonna cut all
- 12:36Speaker 1: these bits we do. Yeah, let's just keep it moving,

- 12:53Speaker 1: We got three bits we don't do harlly no more.
- 12:55Speaker 1: It's still good. We'll talk about it over the country.
- 13:00Speaker 1: Brothers was all right, Ralph for the white guy is
- 13:08Speaker 1: your brand? Yeah? Dirty, dirty old man. I loved. What
- 13:15Speaker 1: about the African guy? What was his name? No, yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 1: that was it? Eugene. Than gonna let you guess. Appears
- 13:27Speaker 1: from Eugene one time. Man. We miss him and they'll
- 13:31Speaker 1: march on us by by the mar we'll discuss it
- 13:36Speaker 1: over the break. Guys coming up at thirty two minutes
- 13:38Speaker 1: after the hour, asked the CLO. The Chief Love Officer
- 13:42Speaker 1: up next right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning
- 13:47Speaker 1: Show time now for asked the CLO. You can go
- 13:51Speaker 1: to Steve Harvey FM dot com to submit your question
- 13:54Speaker 1: for the Chief Love Officer. Now Clo Cloe, It's Timmy
- 13:58Speaker 1: calls you. This one is from Lee, She's online listener.
- 14:01Speaker 1: Lie says, I'm in my mid twenties and this question
- 14:04Speaker 1: is to the men. Basically, I've set standards for what
- 14:07Speaker 1: I wanted a man. But my last boyfriend left me
- 14:11Speaker 1: because he had standards too, and I did not measure up.
- 14:15Speaker 1: He was serious about me cooking for him weekly or
- 14:19Speaker 1: having food at my house when he visited. I don't
- 14:22Speaker 1: cook or have a desire to. I told him that
- 14:25Speaker 1: he's not entitled to a cook meal for me because
- 14:28Speaker 1: he's not my husband. He said I should at least
- 14:31Speaker 1: try to act like I am wife material and cook.
- 14:34Speaker 1: We disagreed and broke up. How important is cooking to
- 14:38Speaker 1: a man in a relationship. Well, I mean, you have
- 14:43Speaker 1: every right, young lady, to have your standards, and you
- 14:47Speaker 1: got him, But this young man has every right to
- 14:50Speaker 1: have his standards. And if he wants a woman who
- 14:54Speaker 1: can cook and you can't cook, then you ain't it.
- 14:57Speaker 1: What's what's what's what's the matter with that? It's around, Yeah,
- 15:02Speaker 1: if you want a man that can drive, and drive
- 15:05Speaker 1: a car, and and he don't have a car yet.
- 15:09Speaker 1: You you don't want to see him. If he were
- 15:12Speaker 1: her husband, she would cook. No, No, I want to
- 15:14Speaker 1: cook for him because he's not my husband's. He got
- 15:18Speaker 1: to know what he getting into. Hell his wife. Hello,
- 15:25Speaker 1: I don't think she should have to cook if she doesn't,
- 15:27Speaker 1: you know, Okay, hold on, hold on. So you call
- 15:30Speaker 1: Mary we're dating, and you tell me your car broke down,
- 15:34Speaker 1: and I don't help you get the car fixed. You
- 15:36Speaker 1: ain't my wife, I ain't no mechanic. Well, I'm just
- 15:42Speaker 1: saying I don't think she drop your own damn transmission
- 15:47Speaker 1: for sure? You want you wouldn't cook for the man
- 15:50Speaker 1: at all? Hell? No, Sheley, She don't do that now. Yeah,
- 15:53Speaker 1: it's your name, Shirley. No tell me I wouldn't still same?
- 16:02Speaker 1: All right? This is from Terence in Philly Cello. Uh.
- 16:06Speaker 1: Terence says, I'm forty eight years old and I'm married
- 16:08Speaker 1: to a jealous hearted, crazy woman that likes to hit me.
- 16:12Speaker 1: She gets mad about the few times I cheated years ago,
- 16:15Speaker 1: and then she starts throwing stuff at me, or she'll
- 16:18Speaker 1: punch me when I least expected. I don't think of it.
- 16:21Speaker 1: As abuse because it's my fault. But I'm sick of
- 16:24Speaker 1: her hauling off and punching me whenever she has a flashback.
- 16:27Speaker 1: She claims she has forgiven me, but I can't tell.
- 16:30Speaker 1: We've been together for seventeen years and I haven't cheated
- 16:33Speaker 1: in the past eight years. Will she ever get over this?
- 16:37Speaker 1: Probably not sound like such dog. That's not cool at all. No,
- 16:45Speaker 1: you know, even though he did say he cheated several terms. Yeah,
- 16:49Speaker 1: but he's been good for the past eight years. They've
- 16:52Speaker 1: been married for sever nine years. But here's a deal, though,
- 16:57Speaker 1: If you are going to stay mad and married, I
- 17:01Speaker 1: wouldn't stay in a relationship. Right. So now, every time
- 17:05Speaker 1: you think about it, you hit the man. Okay, he
- 17:08Speaker 1: did what he did, He asked for forgiveness. He's straightened up.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Now if you want to keep punishing him for it,
- 17:13Speaker 1: I'm not gonna sit there that you keep punishing me
- 17:15Speaker 1: for the same crime. Absolutely, you took him back, So
- 17:19Speaker 1: you guys have got to move on from this. Oh yeah, man,
- 17:22Speaker 1: because I'm not gonna stand here and you're just hitting
- 17:24Speaker 1: on me whenever you want to. I'm I'm gonna tell
- 17:27Speaker 1: you right now, we're getting a divorce. Yeah, what's the point.
- 17:31Speaker 1: We're not going to counseling, right, you're just working my adwork.
- 17:40Speaker 1: This ain't counseling. I don't need that kind of help.
- 17:44Speaker 1: I need to help finding me another place. I don't
- 17:49Speaker 1: need a counselor I need a real estate agent. Yeah.
- 17:56Speaker 1: The the abuse, the physical abuse, is not good. I
- 17:59Speaker 1: don't women should hit men, and definitely men shouldn't hit
- 18:02Speaker 1: women because their physical might, their strength. You know. Yeah,
- 18:07Speaker 1: this is wrong all the way around. All right, Frank
- 18:10Speaker 1: and Augusta Clo says Steve, I need your help, brother.
- 18:14Speaker 1: I met a beautiful sister six months ago and we
- 18:17Speaker 1: spent time together during the quarantine. I'm really feeling her
- 18:22Speaker 1: and the sex is great. My only problem is how
- 18:25Speaker 1: she looks around the house. She has her natural hair
- 18:29Speaker 1: and it's beautiful, but she wears super long eyelashes and
- 18:33Speaker 1: a ton of makeup with drawn on eyebrows and eyeshadow
- 18:38Speaker 1: for days. I've never seen her in her natural state.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I'm afraid to ask her if this is how new
- 18:45Speaker 1: age dating is. I'm fifty one and I want to
- 18:47Speaker 1: see the real thing. You're sure you want to seal
- 18:51Speaker 1: the show? You really say you was afraid of something.
- 18:58Speaker 1: I'm afraid to ask her of this how new age
- 19:01Speaker 1: dating is she might be afraid to show you. Now,
- 19:06Speaker 1: with that being said, bro, why don't you just sit
- 19:09Speaker 1: it down and go baby, Look, I think you're beautiful
- 19:12Speaker 1: the way you are. You don't have to do all
- 19:14Speaker 1: this for me. You know you can say that. But
- 19:18Speaker 1: when he met her, she had makeup and lashes and
- 19:21Speaker 1: he ain't seen her. Yeah, I know, bro, Bro, let
- 19:24Speaker 1: me say something to you. Man, don't push this, yeah,
- 19:28Speaker 1: thank you. Yeah, don't open this can of one that
- 19:33Speaker 1: you might not be able to clever if she went
- 19:36Speaker 1: in that doing COVID man. Please, you know when he
- 19:40Speaker 1: said her she had a makeup. I don't have a
- 19:46Speaker 1: problem with this man wanting to see her and I
- 19:48Speaker 1: don't want to. I don't have a problem with her
- 19:50Speaker 1: wearing makeup. Yeah. Now, if you got a problem with
- 19:54Speaker 1: a makeup, bro, you don't like women to wear makeup,
- 19:56Speaker 1: then you gotta start seeing somebody else right now? He
- 19:59Speaker 1: wants her. But if she take it off, though, you
- 20:00Speaker 1: might be able to see somebody else. Anyway, you're gonna
- 20:04Speaker 1: see somebody else. It's somebody else under that she's the
- 20:07Speaker 1: same person. She just doesn't have. Here's somebody else under that.
- 20:12Speaker 1: When he met her, she wore makeup and that was fine. Yes,
- 20:16Speaker 1: and he's never seen it without mm hmm. I would
- 20:21Speaker 1: just live with that dog. Ye. Women like to get
- 20:25Speaker 1: up and make them make up up. Yeah, some women
- 20:28Speaker 1: like that. It's nothing, it's nothing. Yeah, definitely not get
- 20:33Speaker 1: up early before you here morning and put some more
- 20:36Speaker 1: shut up refreshing. We heard something we got to go
- 20:46Speaker 1: see all up, hey before we gnawed off? You want
- 20:49Speaker 1: me to set my iPhone for you? Coming up next?

- 22:14Speaker 1: The problem I'm having, miss Freedom, is that I looked
- 22:19Speaker 1: through my wife cell phone about two three weeks ago,
- 22:23Speaker 1: and I have found out that this actual phone number
- 22:27Speaker 1: below to your husband named and he been text messaging
- 22:32Speaker 1: her and stop right now, stop stop stop because but
- 22:37Speaker 1: see let me finish. Though he's been text messaging her
- 22:41Speaker 1: different uh text message and stuff about he want to
- 22:44Speaker 1: meet up with her, and and how she looked the
- 22:46Speaker 1: other day and stuff like this hill. But then but
- 22:49Speaker 1: then even worse than this hill, is he you know? Done?
- 22:53Speaker 1: Send some some some pictures of himself some some naked
- 22:57Speaker 1: pictures on the own, the own on the seal phone. No, no, sir, not,
- 23:05Speaker 1: I know not because if anything, if he's texting, anybody
- 23:09Speaker 1: needs to be an employer about a jaw. I know
- 23:12Speaker 1: you're not saying to me, whole body? Who is your wife?
- 23:14Speaker 1: What's your name again? What's your name here? My name

- 23:20Speaker 1: wife name is Denise, Denise, Denise, Denise. That ain't registering
- 23:26Speaker 1: with me. I don't. We pretty much have an open
- 23:29Speaker 1: relationship where we kind of communicate and m I don't.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I don't know about no Denise. Okay, dude, do your
- 23:38Speaker 1: husband's last fold digits on his phone in sixty eight
- 23:41Speaker 1: twenty two? Yeah, that would be okay. See that what
- 23:47Speaker 1: I'm saying, man, I'm not trying to call you, you know.
- 23:50Speaker 1: I mean, I'm I'm disappointed in my wife because of
- 23:54Speaker 1: these text messes and in these pictures and stuff. You know,
- 23:56Speaker 1: I'm I'm the one. That's why I say, Okay, I
- 23:59Speaker 1: need called this man wife right here and see what
- 24:03Speaker 1: you know? Do she even know it? I need you
- 24:06Speaker 1: to wait to meet it back up and be quiet

- 24:20Speaker 1: does not work? Kay, I don't know where it is
- 24:23Speaker 1: when he got when he generally when he leaves the house,
- 24:25Speaker 1: we're together. So where did they meet with? How did
- 24:28Speaker 1: how did they meet two weeks ago? You say, because oh,

- 24:32Speaker 1: don't know if they meant two weeks ago. I'm just
- 24:35Speaker 1: I just found him in the cell phone two weeks ago.
- 24:39Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying. Now. You say, if you're saying
- 24:41Speaker 1: he don't work, then evidently it must be doing the
- 24:45Speaker 1: day while you gone or something I don't do. I
- 24:47Speaker 1: mean you you say you on your lunch break right now? Yeah?
- 24:51Speaker 1: Uh huh? And where's your wife right now? Wait a minute,

- 28:03Speaker 1: Do you hear me? Can I say something else to you?
- 28:05Speaker 1: I don't need you to say them? Can I say
- 28:08Speaker 1: one more thing? What do you need to say? This
- 28:12Speaker 1: is nephew timent from the Steve Hardy Morning Show. You
- 28:16Speaker 1: just got pranked by your husband. Gerald. Let me tell
- 28:25Speaker 1: you something got to be to be pranking me. He
- 28:29Speaker 1: needs to be trying about it. Joe, you know this
- 28:33Speaker 1: is I'm going ahead when I get home, kiss none
- 28:39Speaker 1: working iran cooking the nice. Let me say all. The
- 28:43Speaker 1: thing that saved the situation is because first of all,
- 28:47Speaker 1: I'm a woman, so I wan't more information. But the
- 28:49Speaker 1: special thing is we need the job, don't work. I
- 28:52Speaker 1: couldn't leave you work. I gotta answer something, baby, what's bad?
- 29:00Speaker 1: Radio show in the lane? Definitely the cry all right, nephew,
- 29:14Speaker 1: thank you. Coming up at the top of the hour.
- 29:16Speaker 1: We'll have some entertainment and national news for you right
- 29:18Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to the morning show. All right, guys.
- 29:25Speaker 1: In today's entertainment news, the La County DA may file
- 29:28Speaker 1: assault charges against Tory. Lanes were allegedly shooting Megan the
- 29:32Speaker 1: Stallion in the foot as she left the suv they
- 29:35Speaker 1: were riding in together. Remember that incident, um uh. And
- 29:39Speaker 1: afterwards Tory was only charged with possession of a firearm.
- 29:43Speaker 1: And today I think photos were released of her foot
- 29:47Speaker 1: where she was shot. Yeah. Yeah, she had to get
- 29:51Speaker 1: her stitches removed and everything pretty scary looking. Yeah, that's
- 29:55Speaker 1: serious though. It is very serious. Yeah, it didn't shatter
- 29:59Speaker 1: any bone or any um main arter you know, arteries
- 30:03Speaker 1: or veins or anything like that whatever you have in
- 30:06Speaker 1: your feet. But um, you have main arteries in your feet,
- 30:11Speaker 1: do you in your foot tissue? You know? The bullets
- 30:27Speaker 1: thank god? And yeah, that's what I was trying to say. Oh,
- 30:30Speaker 1: she got shot in with heel meat. But anyway, I'm
- 30:35Speaker 1: just glad that it wasn't more serious than that. For sure,
- 30:38Speaker 1: you can't get shot in the foot from outside the car. Yeah,
- 30:42Speaker 1: but don't you think he needs to be charged with
- 30:44Speaker 1: something though? I mean, this is looking at Yeah, they're
- 30:47Speaker 1: molling over it for sure. Yeah. All right, So switching
- 30:51Speaker 1: gears now and political news, this is trending. President Trump
- 30:54Speaker 1: is urging his supporters to boycott Goodyear tires. Tommy the President,
- 31:00Speaker 1: eat it, don't buy good Year tires. They announced a
- 31:04Speaker 1: ban on Maga hats. That's why. That's why people to
- 31:12Speaker 1: ban good Years. So here's an American company, made in
- 31:17Speaker 1: America everything. Now you want us to ban them? Yeah,
- 31:23Speaker 1: to boycott them if they're banning Maga hats. So what
- 31:28Speaker 1: kind of vehicles are the Secret Service cars? And all?
- 31:31Speaker 1: What kind of tires do they have on those cars?
- 31:33Speaker 1: Them run flats, but still they might be made yea. Yeah,
- 31:40Speaker 1: but I mean you know they're doing diversity training now.
- 31:45Speaker 1: They've asked their associates to refrain from workplace expression of
- 31:49Speaker 1: political campaigning or supporting any candidate. These are the things
- 31:53Speaker 1: that are acceptable. Black lives matter, Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans
- 31:58Speaker 1: transgender pride unacceptable. Blue lives matter, All lives matter, MAGA
- 32:05Speaker 1: attire political affiliated slogans or material. That's what he mad about.
- 32:10Speaker 1: That's that's that's what he's mad about. Don't buy good
- 32:15Speaker 1: Year tires. They announced a ban on magas my song
- 32:18Speaker 1: got baseball practice tomorrow, am I photo? Tell him we
- 32:21Speaker 1: can't go to baseball practice. We got good Year tires
- 32:24Speaker 1: on the trip. We're just not gonna make practice today.
- 32:29Speaker 1: Why are you tweeting about this, mister president, as you petty,
- 32:33Speaker 1: that's why? Well, why is he involved in a private
- 32:37Speaker 1: company's business. You got stuff you need to do. The
- 32:40Speaker 1: pandemic people are dying every single day. A thousand people
- 32:43Speaker 1: in this country die every single day from coronavirus. And
- 32:46Speaker 1: you are aware of them for their diversity training. He
- 32:51Speaker 1: should be applauding them. We need more of this from
- 32:53Speaker 1: more companies. And like you say, Steve, this is an
- 32:56Speaker 1: American company. He got no long vote. Please people's vote
- 33:02Speaker 1: vote for one org vote early vote. All right, Steve,
- 33:09Speaker 1: it is time now for two days. Gentleman, miss and troop,
- 33:15Speaker 1: Thank you very much everybody, and good morning. Here we go.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Well on the third night of the Democratic Convention, last night.
- 33:21Speaker 1: It was time for the first black and first Asian
- 33:24Speaker 1: American woman or a national ticket to introduce herself to
- 33:27Speaker 1: American voters. But before she did, the woman who really
- 33:31Speaker 1: won the popular vote in twenty sixteen, Hillary Clinton, issued
- 33:34Speaker 1: a warning, I wish Donald Trump knew how to be
- 33:37Speaker 1: a president because America needs a president right now. This
- 33:42Speaker 1: can't be another woulda, coulda shoulda election. If you vote
- 33:46Speaker 1: by mail, request your ballot now and send it back
- 33:50Speaker 1: right away. If you vote in person, do it early,
- 33:54Speaker 1: become a poll worker. Most of all, no matter what vote.
- 34:00Speaker 1: Number forty four, Former President Barack Obama said that number
- 34:03Speaker 1: forty five seems more interested in himself than the country.
- 34:07Speaker 1: Close to four years now, he has shown no interest
- 34:10Speaker 1: in putting in the work, no interest in finding common ground,
- 34:14Speaker 1: no interest in using the awesome power of his office
- 34:18Speaker 1: to help anyone but himself and his friends, no interest
- 34:22Speaker 1: in treating the presidency is anything but one more reality
- 34:25Speaker 1: show that he can use to get the attention he craves.
- 34:29Speaker 1: And Barack Obama said, he creates a lot of attention
- 34:31Speaker 1: and that's the problem. And finally, Kamala Harris came to
- 34:34Speaker 1: the podium talked about the Democratic Ticket twenty twenty and
- 34:37Speaker 1: what it all really means. Joe will bring us together
- 34:40Speaker 1: to build an economy that doesn't leave anyone behind. Joe
- 34:45Speaker 1: will bring us together to end this pandemic and make
- 34:49Speaker 1: sure that we are prepared for the next one. Joe
- 34:54Speaker 1: will bring us together to squarely face and dismantle race injustice,
- 35:01Speaker 1: furthering the work of generations. Years from now, our children
- 35:07Speaker 1: will ask us, where were you when the stakes were
- 35:11Speaker 1: so high? What was it like? And we will tell
- 35:15Speaker 1: them not just how we felt, we will tell them
- 35:20Speaker 1: what we did. And now Kamala Harris is officially the
- 35:25Speaker 1: vice presidential candidate of the Democratic Party. Now tonight does
- 35:29Speaker 1: the end. That's the finale. These speakers tonight include Jersey
- 35:33Speaker 1: Senator Corey Booker, Atlanta Mayor Kesha Lance Bottoms, former South Bend,
- 35:37Speaker 1: Indiana Mayor Pete Buddha, Jedge, Senator Tammy Baldwin, Tammy Duckworth,
- 35:44Speaker 1: Senator Chris Coons, and Kamala Harris and the Biden family
- 35:48Speaker 1: and Joe Biden. Because tonight is the official launch of
- 35:51Speaker 1: the Democratic presidential ticket for twenty twenty, so we're gonna
- 35:55Speaker 1: following that. By the way, the US Postmaster General Lewis
- 35:58Speaker 1: de Joy and major donor to the Trump campaign, testifying
- 36:01Speaker 1: before the Senate tomorrow and the House on Monday, accused
- 36:04Speaker 1: of working with the White House to deliberately undermine the
- 36:07Speaker 1: postal service Trump has repeatedly claimed without in the evidence
- 36:10Speaker 1: at mail and voting leads to Ford. Back to the
- 36:12Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to Steve Harvey Show.
- 36:17Speaker 1: It was an historic night at the Democratic National Convention
- 36:20Speaker 1: for Kamala Harris as she became the first black woman
- 36:24Speaker 1: nominated for vice president. Yet the Lord, yes, Lord Shank,
- 36:31Speaker 1: you so proud of Ashy. High five Carla, That's right, Yes,
- 36:37Speaker 1: Our forever President Barack Obama delivered his speech from of
- 36:42Speaker 1: the American revel of Revolution in Philadelphia, and he said
- 36:45Speaker 1: Donald Trump hasn't grown into the job because he can't
- 36:49Speaker 1: take a listen. I never expected that my successor would
- 36:52Speaker 1: embrace my vision or continue my policies. I did hope,
- 36:56Speaker 1: for the sake of our country that Donald Trump might
- 36:59Speaker 1: show some interest in taking the job seriously, that he
- 37:03Speaker 1: might come to feel the weight of the office and
- 37:05Speaker 1: discover some reverence for the democracy that had been placed
- 37:09Speaker 1: in his care. But he never did. For close to
- 37:12Speaker 1: four years now, he has shown no interest in putting
- 37:15Speaker 1: in the work, no interest in finding common ground, no
- 37:18Speaker 1: interest in using the awesome power of his office to
- 37:22Speaker 1: help anyone but himself and his friends, no interest in
- 37:26Speaker 1: treating the presidency as anything but one more reality show
- 37:29Speaker 1: that he can use to get the attention he craves.
- 37:32Speaker 1: After listening to President Obama last yes, I'm telling you,
- 37:39Speaker 1: man otterly who you are, you have to come to
- 37:43Speaker 1: the conclusion that we absolutely have the wrong person in
- 37:49Speaker 1: the White House right now. At no point has Donald
- 37:55Speaker 1: Trump given a speech that made me feel like, wow,
- 38:00Speaker 1: this guy is presidential. And I'm telling you, if you
- 38:03Speaker 1: don't think that's important, it is because the reputation of
- 38:06Speaker 1: America across this country man is taking a nosedive because
- 38:10Speaker 1: of this guy. And he does not represent the Republican Party.
- 38:16Speaker 1: He's not a McCain, a Romney, a Paul Ryan. Some
- 38:22Speaker 1: of these guys who are they're decent people, man, Just
- 38:26Speaker 1: because they're conservatives don't make them not. But he is
- 38:29Speaker 1: not a decent person. This is what's crazy to me.
- 38:34Speaker 1: The Republican Party claims to be the party of morality,
- 38:39Speaker 1: and you've and you supporting a guy who is immoral
- 38:44Speaker 1: on so many levels, with his wife, with the way
- 38:48Speaker 1: he does business, with the way he treats people of color,
- 38:53Speaker 1: the way he has no regard for religion. I mean, man,
- 38:57Speaker 1: I don't understand man, how the Republican Party has sit
- 39:03Speaker 1: here and just been okay because he creams to love
- 39:08Speaker 1: the policies of the Republican Party, which he does not oppose.
- 39:12Speaker 1: He'll live that life. Now, we got a vote, Yeah,
- 39:15Speaker 1: we do vote, all right. Coming up at thirty four
- 39:20Speaker 1: minutes after the hour, we have a question, Steve from
- 39:22Speaker 1: a listener in New Orleans about yesterday's Strawberry letter. That's
- 39:25Speaker 1: got it right after this. You're listening to show well
- 39:32Speaker 1: in case you missed it. Yesterday Strawberry letters subject was
- 39:35Speaker 1: he loves to mention his ex wife. Now, this letter
- 39:38Speaker 1: was about a married woman whose husband compares her to
- 39:42Speaker 1: his ex wife. So, Steve, we got a question from
- 39:46Speaker 1: Maria in New Orleans. It says Maria says, I heard
- 39:49Speaker 1: the Strawberry letter about the man that mentions his wife
- 39:52Speaker 1: to his ex wife to his new wife. And I'm
- 39:55Speaker 1: having the same problem. And my husband's ex wife calls
- 39:58Speaker 1: my house often to discuss their grown child. Recently, my
- 40:02Speaker 1: husband told me that he's proud of his ex wife
- 40:05Speaker 1: because she's lost weight and she looks like she did
- 40:07Speaker 1: when they first met. He saw her when he went
- 40:10Speaker 1: over there to help their twenty one year old son
- 40:12Speaker 1: fix his car. His son is grown, so I feel
- 40:16Speaker 1: like the ex is still using her son to get
- 40:18Speaker 1: my husband's attention. My husband has not said any boundaries
- 40:22Speaker 1: with her, because he says they've known each other all
- 40:25Speaker 1: of their lives, so it's normal for him to be
- 40:28Speaker 1: friendly to her. I've had enough. Where do I draw
- 40:32Speaker 1: the line right right where you want to line? Go
- 40:38Speaker 1: over there again? Or I'll go with you that In
- 40:42Speaker 1: the vows in the scripture, there's something that says when
- 40:47Speaker 1: you take on the wife, you leave all others and
- 40:51Speaker 1: cleave only unto her. Now that would mean friends, and
- 40:57Speaker 1: you know, not not that you can't have rings, but
- 41:00Speaker 1: you know you don't put them in front of your wife,
- 41:03Speaker 1: your family, your mom, and your dad. Your ex should
- 41:06Speaker 1: be exactly that your ex. That's what it is. It's
- 41:10Speaker 1: your ex. Now. You can't be ex and current at
- 41:14Speaker 1: the same time, and you can't have your cake and
- 41:19Speaker 1: eat it too, and she is, so you have the
- 41:23Speaker 1: right of course she is, and you have the right
- 41:27Speaker 1: to say something about that. This this boy is a
- 41:30Speaker 1: young man now, ye one, he told her how his
- 41:35Speaker 1: ex wife looked good. See you stupid, No, you just
- 41:41Speaker 1: flat out stupid. Fine as it will when we fet
- 41:43Speaker 1: met what Yeah, wow, looks like they did when we
- 41:49Speaker 1: first met. Safe one. Why is she your ex dog?
- 41:55Speaker 1: And we're still talking about her like she's a current.
- 41:59Speaker 1: You draw the line where you want to. If he
- 42:01Speaker 1: don't like the line, they didn't go over there and
- 42:02Speaker 1: make a new line. Yeah, but he's gonna go over
- 42:05Speaker 1: there and find out why they was excess. Oh, it
- 42:09Speaker 1: don't take long. This is true. This is true. Yeah,
- 42:14Speaker 1: we're gonna hear about them a couple of weeks from now.
- 42:16Speaker 1: We're gonna hear a strawberry. Yeah. See see, let me
- 42:20Speaker 1: say this. Do you all have a friend that you
- 42:24Speaker 1: kind of fell off with being friends, but y'all ain't
- 42:26Speaker 1: break up and nothing, y'all just y'all became distanced for
- 42:29Speaker 1: whatever family life forever. Yeah, and you hang out with
- 42:34Speaker 1: him again and you discover exactly why you don't miss
- 42:39Speaker 1: them absolutely. Yeah, Yeah, you've discovered that you've really outgrown
- 42:46Speaker 1: them exactly. And in life you on. You know, that's
- 42:50Speaker 1: what it's called. People in your life for seasons changes.
- 42:54Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, absolutely absolutely, And you know
- 42:59Speaker 1: she can go over there with her husband if he's
- 43:03Speaker 1: going over there to see his son and check out
- 43:04Speaker 1: and see what's really going on too if she wanted to.
- 43:07Speaker 1: But like he said, she could draw the line wherever she.
- 43:10Speaker 1: You ain't got to do all that. I don't believe
- 43:13Speaker 1: that you should have to run and down and hunt
- 43:16Speaker 1: down your mate. If you got to run them down
- 43:19Speaker 1: and hunt them down, that means you don't trust them.
- 43:23Speaker 1: That means you don't trust them. Yeah, but the child
- 43:27Speaker 1: has grown. What's all this chit chat? But this grown
- 43:30Speaker 1: child you're called right, you're calling him all the time.
- 43:33Speaker 1: And like she said, he's set no boundaries. U. She
- 43:37Speaker 1: needs something, Yeah, and and over here and let's fix it. Yeah,
- 43:44Speaker 1: but your ex knows exactly what she's doing exactly. Women
- 43:50Speaker 1: ain't stupid. Women. Women know if it was them, high
- 43:53Speaker 1: would make them feel. That's why some of them do
- 43:55Speaker 1: what they do. I don't know how they feel. Why
- 44:00Speaker 1: do you think she lost all that weight in the
- 44:02Speaker 1: first place. M made sure you came over there to
- 44:05Speaker 1: see it. See it. That's right. Come on now, trust me.
- 44:08Speaker 1: When they got to working on that call, they went
- 44:10Speaker 1: in in eight in that house. She feed him too.
- 44:13Speaker 1: It's we don't come on all right? All right? Well,
- 44:17Speaker 1: coming up right after this, the nephew is here with
- 44:19Speaker 1: today's prank phone call. Right after this, got's your favorite
- 44:23Speaker 1: beef tips. You're listening Steve Harvey Morning Show. Coming up
- 44:29Speaker 1: at the top of the hour, right about four minutes after.
- 44:32Speaker 1: It's my strawberry letter for today, and the subject is
- 44:35Speaker 1: the country bumpkin is not welcome in my family. The
- 44:39Speaker 1: country bumpkin is not welcome in my family. But right
- 44:43Speaker 1: now the nephew is welcome right here with today's prank
- 44:47Speaker 1: phone call. What you got for us, Nef Shanny, I
- 44:50Speaker 1: have Shae lyon h S. Shane lyon h S. Let's
- 44:59Speaker 1: go ket Hello, thank you for calling me. Hello, I'm
- 45:04Speaker 1: trying to reason no cold please, this is she How
- 45:07Speaker 1: you doing? Listen? My name is shal Leon and I
- 45:10Speaker 1: was calling you to see if you had any boot
- 45:12Speaker 1: frontal in the salon that you're working. I'm sorry I
- 45:14Speaker 1: didn't get you name. What's your name is Shae shy Leon?
- 45:17Speaker 1: I mean my real name is Leon, but my artistic
- 45:20Speaker 1: name is shal Leon. Shay Leon is what they call
- 45:22Speaker 1: me sh Leon. Okay, um, actually I do have faith
- 45:26Speaker 1: for another person to come in at work. Um. I
- 45:29Speaker 1: am in a sweet um it's rather small in here.
- 45:32Speaker 1: But if you are interested in coming in working, I
- 45:35Speaker 1: would really like to have someone come in and work
- 45:37Speaker 1: with me. That would be nice. Can I ask you
- 45:39Speaker 1: a questions? Go ahead? What's your background? What do you
- 45:42Speaker 1: do at? Well? Actually, I've just moved here to DC.
- 45:45Speaker 1: I was actually living in the Los Angeles area, and
- 45:50Speaker 1: you know, I've been doing hair there for the last
- 45:52Speaker 1: probably fifteen twenty years. I've been doing hair definitely licensed.
- 45:56Speaker 1: You know, I just moved here, but I've been doing
- 46:00Speaker 1: here for quite a long time. I specialize and only
- 46:02Speaker 1: doing females hair. And you know, just looking to get
- 46:05Speaker 1: into DC and get back to work. And okay, I
- 46:08Speaker 1: really want to find a place where I can do
- 46:10Speaker 1: some hair. And you know, it's going to take me
- 46:12Speaker 1: a minute to get some clientele built up, but you know,
- 46:15Speaker 1: I know my work is good. Okay, Well, m I
- 46:18Speaker 1: am in a high traffic area and I think this
- 46:20Speaker 1: would be a great area for you just coming in
- 46:22Speaker 1: from another state, especially because California. Right, Um, is it
- 46:27Speaker 1: possible you can come in and take a look and
- 46:30Speaker 1: see what you can You know, I'd love I'd love
- 46:32Speaker 1: to come in and take a look and see what
- 46:33Speaker 1: I want in the type of work environment you have.
- 46:35Speaker 1: And so I'm understanding that a lot of people that
- 46:38Speaker 1: do had and have different rooms. Is that how this
- 46:41Speaker 1: setup is, Yes, that's how it's set up. However, I
- 46:44Speaker 1: did you actually have you actually have a sweet? I
- 46:46Speaker 1: do have a sweet. It's a double sweet. So there
- 46:49Speaker 1: is room for another technician. But you know, with it
- 46:52Speaker 1: being such close quarters, you know, you gotta got to
- 46:54Speaker 1: kind of get a feel for the person that's going
- 46:55Speaker 1: to come in and work for you. So yeah, right right,
- 46:57Speaker 1: Rik's gonna be working real close to each other. Honestly,
- 47:00Speaker 1: you know, if we kind of meet each other, you know,
- 47:02Speaker 1: we can get a field each other and see if
- 47:03Speaker 1: you work. Let me ask you something. Have you have
- 47:05Speaker 1: you had a a PHS? Have you worked around a
- 47:08Speaker 1: PHS person before? I'm sorry, who a PHS? Have you
- 47:12Speaker 1: worked around? I mean, that's that's pretty much what I do.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Have you worked around a PHS? I'm not I'm not
- 47:19Speaker 1: familiar with that term. Is that a California term. I
- 47:21Speaker 1: don't with PHS is uh private hair specialists? Have you
- 47:26Speaker 1: worked with a private hair specialist before? Um? Well, I
- 47:30Speaker 1: would consider myself private being so I'm in a suite
- 47:33Speaker 1: but where you would be working out and open with myself.
- 47:36Speaker 1: So I don't know how private you would be. Oh no, no,
- 47:39Speaker 1: no, no no, no, you're not. You don't understand when it's
- 47:41Speaker 1: coming from. I'm a PHS Okay, private hair specialists, and
- 47:46Speaker 1: what that is is I do women's private hair, like
- 47:51Speaker 1: if they want removal from under their arm or their
- 47:54Speaker 1: chin or you know. But most of my work actually
- 47:57Speaker 1: resides in the bikini line. You know. I'm an artist,
- 48:00Speaker 1: so I've known to put your name there. I can
- 48:03Speaker 1: die of different color mohawk, landing strip. Let me let me,
- 48:09Speaker 1: let me, let me stop you right there. Um you
- 48:11Speaker 1: did call and say you were hairstylence. And the last
- 48:13Speaker 1: time I check a hairstyles, they be style here the
- 48:15Speaker 1: hair on top of the head. Leon does hair. It
- 48:18Speaker 1: doesn't doesn't necessarily have to be the hair on the head.
- 48:21Speaker 1: I'm just saying I style well here, Sierra Leone, Sri Lanka,
- 48:24Speaker 1: what's what's your name again? I'm sorry? She Leon? You
- 48:27Speaker 1: cannot continue to get this wrong. Shay Leon Okay, I'm sorry.
- 48:31Speaker 1: What was the name your mom gave you? Because my
- 48:34Speaker 1: government name is Leon. But Leon, okay, Leon, Leon Leon. Again,
- 48:39Speaker 1: this is a suite and you will be working in
- 48:41Speaker 1: the open with myself and my clients who are accustomed
- 48:45Speaker 1: to having a professional setting. Um, and I don't think
- 48:47Speaker 1: it would be appropriate for you to have someone come
- 48:50Speaker 1: in and have a landing strip, an airport, a plane,
- 48:54Speaker 1: their baby daddy's name put, I don't, I don't out
- 48:57Speaker 1: or whatever you do. That's not where we're about here.
- 49:00Speaker 1: And so are you trying to say that you're not
- 49:01Speaker 1: open for new ideas? I'm sorry. If you consider that
- 49:04Speaker 1: a new idea, then I'm giving you phone number to
- 49:06Speaker 1: someone else because this this we're not going to do
- 49:09Speaker 1: that here. I haven't We're not. Excuse me, excuse me,
- 49:15Speaker 1: excuse me. You called Mathalon. Where did you even get
- 49:17Speaker 1: my number from? Why? What made you think that you
- 49:20Speaker 1: could call my shop? And then this is what we do?
- 49:22Speaker 1: When you could come here and you could do that, well,
- 49:24Speaker 1: I'm thinking that you would be open for something new.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Why would you think that I'll be open for that?
- 49:28Speaker 1: Who told you that? Which I mean, I you came
- 49:33Speaker 1: all the way from California and you called me. You're
- 49:37Speaker 1: not coming to my salon to call your name, anybody
- 49:40Speaker 1: else's name, and you have a landing strip any type
- 49:43Speaker 1: of initials. Okay, this is a professional salon, and we
- 49:47Speaker 1: stole hair. The hair on the head I'm doing, did
- 49:53Speaker 1: you of the head? That st That's what Shane Leon does.
- 50:02Speaker 1: Look you, I'm sick of you. I'm sick of you already.
- 50:05Speaker 1: So you know what. This is not even gonna work.
- 50:06Speaker 1: This is not even gonna work again. We're not doing

- 50:14Speaker 1: I'm sorry that your career would not be successful as

- 54:00Speaker 1: hold on tight, We got it for you here. It
- 54:02Speaker 1: is a Strawberry letter. Thank you, nephew. Subject the country
- 54:06Speaker 1: bumpkin is not welcome in my family. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 54:10Speaker 1: I need your advice because my daughter is in love
- 54:13Speaker 1: with a country bumpkin. She is twenty four years old
- 54:16Speaker 1: and she got engaged recently, and she brought her fiance
- 54:19Speaker 1: to town to meet my husband and I. As soon
- 54:23Speaker 1: as they got out of the pickup truck, I thought,
- 54:26Speaker 1: WT is this? He is a true country bumpkin. He
- 54:32Speaker 1: has his ged because he dropped out of high school
- 54:34Speaker 1: to work on his family's farm. My daughter has a
- 54:37Speaker 1: master's degree and a promising career. The fact that her
- 54:41Speaker 1: fiance is white has no bearing on how I feel
- 54:45Speaker 1: about him. She could do so much better than this.
- 54:48Speaker 1: My husband says, farmers can make a lot of money,
- 54:50Speaker 1: but I don't want country grand babies. They stayed with
- 54:54Speaker 1: us for a weekend. And this young man has no
- 54:57Speaker 1: real interest in politics, the pandemic, or Black Lives Matter.
- 55:01Speaker 1: He doesn't watch much TV, and he hasn't been to
- 55:04Speaker 1: the movies in years. He's isolated himself on the farm
- 55:08Speaker 1: working with animals. They met at a farmer's market, and
- 55:12Speaker 1: my daughter said it was basically love at first sight.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I notice she's not on her phone as much as
- 55:18Speaker 1: she used to be, and she said she's deleted her
- 55:21Speaker 1: social media account because it's too much to keep up with.
- 55:26Speaker 1: In some ways, this young man has grounded her, but
- 55:29Speaker 1: he's stifling her in so many other ways. My daughter
- 55:33Speaker 1: said his family was very welcoming, and they say she's
- 55:36Speaker 1: book smart and nicknamed her professor. My husband and my
- 55:40Speaker 1: sister said, I'm uppity and being too judgmental. I want
- 55:44Speaker 1: the best for my daughter and he is not it.
- 55:48Speaker 1: I encouraged her to have a long engagement, but the
- 55:51Speaker 1: wedding date is set for next fall. I know she
- 55:55Speaker 1: can do better than this, and I'm trying to get
- 55:57Speaker 1: her to see that isn't that apparent? John? Would I
- 56:00Speaker 1: be wrong if I didn't give her my blessing to
- 56:03Speaker 1: marry him. Okay, no, you wouldn't be wrong. But I
- 56:09Speaker 1: have to tell you that they don't need your blessing
- 56:11Speaker 1: to get married if that's really what they want to do.
- 56:15Speaker 1: And I'm really trying to figure out what's so wrong
- 56:18Speaker 1: with this guy. I mean, is it just the fact
- 56:20Speaker 1: that he's from the country, or do you think he's
- 56:23Speaker 1: not good enough or smart enough or rich enough. You
- 56:27Speaker 1: don't like this guy. Let's go down the list. They
- 56:29Speaker 1: met at a farmer's market. She said, he has a
- 56:31Speaker 1: pickup truck. Seems like you had a problem with that.
- 56:34Speaker 1: He has a geed, he hasn't been to the movies.
- 56:38Speaker 1: He's not into politics or the pandemic or Black Lives Matter,
- 56:41Speaker 1: he doesn't watch TV, and he's been isolated on the
- 56:44Speaker 1: farm working with the animals. Your daughter, meanwhile, is well educated.
- 56:48Speaker 1: She has a master's degree and a promising career. And
- 56:52Speaker 1: his family says she's got booksmarts and they all call
- 56:55Speaker 1: her professor. They've been very welcoming to her. You said, oh,
- 57:00Speaker 1: and the big one. Your daughter is black and he's white.
- 57:02Speaker 1: But you say that doesn't matter to you. What about love?
- 57:06Speaker 1: I don't see any mention of love on here. Do
- 57:08Speaker 1: they love each other, do they Because if they love
- 57:12Speaker 1: each other, you know, again, your blessing is not gonna
- 57:15Speaker 1: matter in this so and please don't say you don't
- 57:19Speaker 1: want any country grandkids to them. Please don't say that,
- 57:22Speaker 1: because that will be a turn off to your daughter.
- 57:25Speaker 1: You know, I've seen all kinds of marriages work, marriages
- 57:29Speaker 1: that people never believed would and then marriages where you go, no,
- 57:32Speaker 1: they broke up. I thought they would be together till death.
- 57:36Speaker 1: I mean, the main problem I'm going to tell you
- 57:38Speaker 1: that I see in this letter is that he doesn't
- 57:40Speaker 1: know about the pandemic and Black Lives Matter and all
- 57:44Speaker 1: of that. He doesn't know what's going on in the world.
- 57:46Speaker 1: And that's probably because, like you say, he's been on
- 57:48Speaker 1: the farm and he doesn't watch a lot of TV.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Your daughter really needs to discuss these things with him.
- 57:54Speaker 1: That's what they need to be talking about right now.
- 57:57Speaker 1: See how he feels about all this stuff for real,
- 57:59Speaker 1: because this is going to matter in a marriage in
- 58:02Speaker 1: spite of their differences, you know, sometimes opposite to do
- 58:05Speaker 1: a track. You've got to let them figure this out,
- 58:08Speaker 1: though you gotta stay out of it. Let them figure
- 58:11Speaker 1: it out, not you steve this country bunking ain't welcome
- 58:21Speaker 1: in my family. The first lie in the letter that
- 58:30Speaker 1: she told is the fact that her fiance is white
- 58:35Speaker 1: has no bearing on how I feel about it. I
- 58:39Speaker 1: don't believe that that's why you're friend him as a
- 58:42Speaker 1: country bunking. Now, you know't do how you want. You
- 58:47Speaker 1: can want the best for your kids. But does every
- 58:51Speaker 1: parent know what's best for their children all the time. Nope,
- 58:55Speaker 1: No they don't. No, they don't. Parents make mistakes too. Now,
- 59:00Speaker 1: she's twenty four years old, got engaged. Wait until she
- 59:04Speaker 1: got engaged, bought him home to meet y'all. You was
- 59:09Speaker 1: upset soon as they got out to pick up truck.
- 59:13Speaker 1: That's what you didn't like. I thought, what the hell
- 59:16Speaker 1: is this? He is a true country punkt. He got
- 59:21Speaker 1: a ged because he dropped out of high school to
- 59:23Speaker 1: work on his family farm. Okay, my daughter has a
- 59:29Speaker 1: master's degree and a promising career and what so what
- 59:33Speaker 1: she got a master's degree, so and he got a ged.
- 59:39Speaker 1: Now I understand what you're saying. She could do much
- 59:42Speaker 1: better than this. If she could, she would see if
- 59:48Speaker 1: your daughter qualifies for so much better, she'd have so
- 59:52Speaker 1: much better. There's some things you may not know about
- 59:56Speaker 1: your daughter. Then your husband told you farmers make a
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: lot of money. That ain't run, dude, But he's gonna
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: had to have one monster of a farm now and
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: I ain't man. But either way, he's a hard working man.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I'm really pissed off at the letter because it sounds
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: like it's about me. I knew it was. Let's just
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: stop this foolish We're gonna have part two of Steve. Damn.
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: We'll get back into it at twenty three minutes after.
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: Right after this you're listening to show, all right, Steve,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: come on, recap the letter that you think is about you,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: thinking it's not welcome in my family. Let's go heard
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: this befault sitting up working on the phone. Your daughter
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: got a master's degree and a promising career, promises. I'm
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: out here pulling these tomatoes. Got a truck full of cucumbers?
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: What promising? More promising than that? If I don't sell it,
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: we can eat it. You com and selling this delicious right?
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: My husband says, pharmers can make a lot of money,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: but I don't want a country bunking grand baby. Well
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: then that's what they're gonna have. So you ain't gonna
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: want the grand baby. They stayed with us for a weekend.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: And this young man has no real interest in politics.
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: I ain't mad at him for that. The coronavirus, he
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: ain't got it hard to get corona out on the phone.
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: You're in the middle of field, working by yourself. He's
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: social distancing. Yeah, all black lives matter? Didn't you say
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: he was white? Did not you say he was white?
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: Now you want to get a T shirt on? He
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: didn't do that. He's isolated himself on the farm, working
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: with animals. Maybe he don't like a lot of people.
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: But your daughter loves him. Yeah, I know that. She's
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: not on the phone as much as she used to be.
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: In uh. She says she's deleted her social media account
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: because it's too much keep up with. In some way,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: this young man has grounded her right there. I see
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: an improvement in your daughter, But he's uh stifling her
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: in so many other ways, like what didn't like what? What? Now?
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: My daughter says. His family very welcoming, and they said
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: she booked smart, she got a masters and he got
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: a ged. Hell yeah, she booked smart. Hell yeah, masters.
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: We geed people a no time for high school going
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: down that graduating. I gotta go out here, police tomatoes.
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you, we gotta shucked this coin. We
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: pee snapping people. We in here, we slopping hogs. So
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: why do you think this letter is about you? Stick?
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Because I'm country. I hadn't heard this before. Oh you
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: all that? Yeah? Who told you that? Oh don't. Oh
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: they don't want to get into people. My husband and
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: my sister say, I'm up in there. I'm being too
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: judgment you are. I want the best of my daughter
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: and he is not it. You don't know that I
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: encourage your have a long engagement. Blah blah blah blah.
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: I'm not trying to, you know, get her to see that. Now?
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: All this is it isn't that a parent's job with
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I be wrong if I didn't give her my blessing
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: to marry him. You ain't got they don't need it.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Sure they say that they don't need it. But you
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: do know that he don't have to ask you for
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: a blessing, that he has to come to the father
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: and ask for the daughter's head in marriage. And you
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: do know that the father's supposed to pay for the
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: wed another bride. You do know him. Let me ask
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: you a question. How does he treat him? Probably like
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: a queen. The biggest problem in this letter is the
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: person that wrote the latter you don't like to do
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: because he got a ged Let's go over a couple
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: of people that don't have massive degrees like your daughter Ready,
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: Tiger Woods don't have him man side, Tyler Perry don't
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: have a man Sis degree, Jamie Fox don't have a
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: man Sis degree. I'm not making do what they're doing.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: Does the president, I promise you this boy, do you
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: have a mass degree? He bought all the ten ask
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: is that I can go down the list of extremely
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: successful people who don't have a master's degree that if
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: they if that, if they was dating your daughter, you
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: wouldn't have a problem with the GEDA. What did you you?
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: You bothered by the ged Really? I could tell you
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: a lot of hugely successful people that don't have that.
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: The biggest problem in this letter issue I think your prejudice.
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: H m hmm. I'm gonna say it. It's strawberry letter.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: She ain't hit a defeat herself. I could say, hell,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: you know how much stuff I said? I wasn't gonna
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: do any turn around. Did it? Let me lies out
- 1:05:51Speaker 1: and told anybody yourself to your face, didn't link. Have
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: you ever told a person you was in love? What
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: I mean? You really weren't many? Because I was home? Boy?
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Wait what? Because he was home? That's a good reason.
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: I met a girl while I was homeless and she
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: had an apartment. As soon as I found out she
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: had an apartment, the next words out of my mouth,
- 1:06:27Speaker 1: I love you immediately with my hardest soul. All right, Steve,
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: thank you the biggest problem On today's Strawberry Letter Steve
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: Harvey FM on Instagram and Facebook, and please check out
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: the Strawberry Letter podcast. It's on demand now coming up
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: at forty six minutes after the hour. It is our
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: girl from the Talk Cheryl. Right after this, I cry,
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: you're listening, Steve, Ladies and gentlemen, without further ado, sherl
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: Underwood that we're talking about, Steve Harvey. That's what I'm
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: talking about. The foolishness. Well, okay, we're not gonna stop
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: all the foodiss. We just paused the foolishness because it
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: was anybody watching last night? Yes, yes, did you see
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: President Obama? Yeah? Yeah, listen, listen, did you see one
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: Comela have say there's no vaccine for races. I went, Damn,
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: that girl knows what she's talking about, right, I said, Damn,
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: the girl know what she's talking about. Right, listen to me.
- 1:07:46Speaker 1: I know this is gonna be a SmackDown of an
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: election because when Lebron James, Lebron James say he gonna
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: get people to vote because he needs Black people to
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: understand they've been lied to about the rights that they
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: had that they didn't use. But you know what, this
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: is what I want to talk about. All the young
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: people that like to call me Auntie Sheryl and like
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: to call on Becaustive and everything. We need your vote.
- 1:08:09Speaker 1: We need When the first Lady, Michelle Obama say we
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: can't be withholding our vote and we can't be wasting
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: our vote on somebody that don't have a chance to win.
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: She were talking about Kanye. No, nobody needed to say
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: nothing about that. We were talking about Kanye. They are
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: playing with your minds and right now, I want young
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: people to know how much power they have. Black Lives
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: Matter has caused change to occur in this country. But
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: you've got to keep going. You've got to secure the
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: change with the vote. And that's why I'm begging the
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: DNC to buy ads on black radio. Why PPM gives
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: us three to five minutes to engage you. We are
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: the soundtrack of your life because you listen to radio
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: in your house, in your call, on your jobs. But
- 1:08:56Speaker 1: we need you to back up what we're saying with
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: the advertisement. You must speak to us the young people.
- 1:09:04Speaker 1: They don't want started to cancel culture. Then I need
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: you to cancel Trump in November. I need you to
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: remember in November that we're gonna cancel Trump. I need
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: you to make voting viral. I need you to trend
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: in everything that we need to do to fight for freedom,
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: justice and equality. If you're young, gifted, and black. I
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: need you to be loud, united, and engaged. And what
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: does that mean. I need you to go the girl
- 1:09:31Speaker 1: for the soul of the nation. We must take souls
- 1:09:35Speaker 1: to the polls. We must turn up the turnout. We
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: will go blue. And when I say blue, that's b
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: l ue. Be loud, united and engaged, go blue because
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: we are about to turn the House, the Senate, and
- 1:09:49Speaker 1: the White House blue. We can't back We're taking it.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Let's go blue. Be loud, united and engaged Black Radio Solidarity.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: We need to drive souls to the poker. Vote for
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: one one dot org for all your information. Vote and
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: vote early. Everybody vote early. We're gonna let you know
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: the day you can start voting early. We're going to
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: the pos and record numbers. More of Cheryl when we
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: come back at the top of the hour right after this,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: Hey Jr. You're listening, stew All right, we're back with
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: the one and only Cheryl Underwood. Cheryl, you were saying, well, listen, listen.
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: I want young people to know that we were young, Steve.
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: Remember Tommy Junior, Carl Charlie. We was the hip hop
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: generation that grew up to elet President Obama. Do you
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: know how young Fred Hampton was before they assassinated him?
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Do you know how young John Louis? Do you know
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: that from the Freedom Riders and the marches in the
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: sixties that brought in the mayors of the seventies. Do
- 1:10:56Speaker 1: you know how young Mary and Barry was? Do you
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: know how young call me young and all those mans
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: coming in. Do you know really how young Shirley Chisen was.
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: You need to understand we need you young people, and
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: we don't want y'all to just be finger popping, be bopping,
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: and we're not trying to be old people that say, well,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: if y'all don't do this, this gonna happen. You can
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: see how bad it's gotten. What do we got to
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: lose everything? If Trump gets four more years, he was
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: solidified the destruction of this democracy. That's why I'm begging
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: you to go blue, be loud, united, and engaged in
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: this election. You've already started it with Black Lives Matter,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: You've already started it with the marching. Now we's much
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: take it further. We've got to go further. What do
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: y'all want to say? How can how can we get
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: to young people to see what we need to do?
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: You know, do we need to get West killer? Mike West,
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: Ti Cardi B I don't care, it's okay to do.
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: What are the WAP videos? That was all my comedy
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: when I started comedy in the seventies and they I
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: ain't gonna lie to you. That's why I can't criticize
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: the young girls out here. But what I can say is,
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: you guys got millions of followers on social media. There's
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: a responsibility to that. There's an expectation of that. When
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: we was growing up, we had mc like Queen Lativa
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: Rock saying, we need the young people to understand, you're
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: not always gonna be young. Your children are gonna grow up.
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: What kind of world do you want for them? What
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: kind of weather? Because you got it all right now.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: But if they take your rights and your freedom from you,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: they don't know who you are when you're driving in
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: your car. You get what I'm saying to you. So
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: what I'm saying to the young people is they hear
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: us on the radio, they look up, look us up
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: from Deaf Comedy Jam, Comic View and everything that we've done.
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: Let's be about something. Let's make sure that we vote.
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: If we had ten million extra votes, Trump will know
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: you are out of liuse, and don't let them distract
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: us and pit us against each other. Our brown brothers
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: and sisters, our progressive brothers and sisters, need to understand
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: it's not about this convention right now, it's what we
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: do after the convention. We've got to put this dude
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: out of office. We must stand up for our brown
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: brothers and sisters, because once they finished with us, whoever's left,
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: they gonna go after so we need to stand together.
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: Anybody want to co sign on anything I have said.
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: I'm just asking to be loud, united and engaged. Be
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: loud united and engaged. You like that? Go blue? You
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: like that describing yes, Jill, that everything. So what wait
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: a minute, I have to listen to me. Me and
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Junior gonna be together? Like you know who is the
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: booe is the dynamic black couples in the civil rights
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: mood modern corrella. That's me and Julia right there. What
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: it's a love that can stand the testatie? What I
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: caught a fight a dog if it tried to bite Julius,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: It's gonna be a loving stroll. It's gonna we're gonna
- 1:14:08Speaker 1: go together. We're gonna go get something to eat, and
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: we're gonna vote, and we'll do what we gotta fill
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: out our ballots together. But while I'm saying that, I
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: think that's the best way to get these young men
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: to go to the polls. There used to be agreed
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: tragedy that was about that's right a date and you
- 1:14:24Speaker 1: used to be okay. So we're gonna start with holes
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: and stuff from you, fellas if you are not regul
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: stud to vote, if you are not going to the pole.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: We're going on strike. We're gonna keep that w AP
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: to ourselves until y'all go blue. No w ap for you,
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: no w We will see you at the pot. We're
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: gonna strity. I need you to sleep outside or Nesto.
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Don't believing that. You make sure our Nesto it's ready
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: to vote. Yeah yeah, coming up next Today's trending stories
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: on the Steve Harvey Morning Show. We'll be back in
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: twenty minutes after the hour. Right after this you're listening
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: to morning show. All right, guys, we said it at
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: the top of the show today as National Radio Day.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: We're all in radio, have been for years. We love
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: our radio. We love radio. Yeah, we love it. Yeah.
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: We want to thank all of our loyal listeners too
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: that have been with us Steve on the Steve Harvey
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Morning Show for almost twenty years. Right, this show was
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: two thousand and five. Yeah, yeah, okay, yeah, that's right,
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: and then you started in Lams here before in LA
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: at two thousand till five. You know, Tommy, you missed
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: a lot of days on that show. It's all a blur,
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: a part of that part of it, but you missed
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: a lot of days back to you, damn most of
- 1:15:56Speaker 1: the time. What do you love about radio? I think
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: the theater of the mind portion of it. I think
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: it's the one platform that I get to be more
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: sincerely who I really am. I can give more of
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: my personalized thoughts. I don't have shows where I can
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: just give all my personalized views on it like I
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: can radio. And I just really believe that we're in
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: a position that we can affect change. I think our
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: voices on this radio show can affect change, can move
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: the direction. I am thoroughly convinced that if we convince
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: black people to vote, that we will show that black
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: lives matter and will make them look at us in
- 1:16:36Speaker 1: a totally different way, because if we now can determine
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: whether you have a job or not, they're gonna pay
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: real close attention to whether black lives matter or not.
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: That's right, Thank you, Steve. We'll have more of the
- 1:16:47Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show and some trending news coming up
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: at thirty three minutes after the hour right after this,
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: you're listening well, In case you missed it, yesterday's Strawberry
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: Letters subject was he loves to mention his ex wife Now,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: this letter was about a married woman whose husband compares
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: her to his ex wife. So Steve, we got a
- 1:17:09Speaker 1: question from Maria in New Orleans. It says Maria says,
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: I heard the Strawberry letter about the man that mentions
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: his wife to his ex wife to his new wife,
- 1:17:19Speaker 1: and I'm having the same problem. And my husband's ex
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: wife calls my house often to discuss their grown child. Recently,
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: my husband told me that he's proud of his ex
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: wife because she's lost weight and she looks like she
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: did when they first met. He saw her when he
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: went over there to help their twenty one year old
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: son fix his car. His son is grown, so I
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: feel like the ex is still using her son to
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: get my husband's attention. My husband has not set any
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: boundaries with her, because he says they've known each other
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: all of their lives, so it's normal for him to
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: be friendly to her. I've had enough. Where do I
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: draw the line? Right line? Right where you want the line?
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: In the scripture, there's something that says when you take
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: on the wife, you leave all others and cleave only
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: unto her. Now that would mean friends, and you know
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: not not that you can't have friends, but you know
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: you don't put them in front of your wife, your family,
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: your mom, and your daddy. Your ex should be exactly that,
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: your ex. That's what it is. It's your ex. Now.
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: You can't be ex and current at the same time,
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: and you can't have your cake and eat it too.
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: And she is, so you have the right, of course
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: she is, and you have the right to say something
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: about that. This this boy as a young man now
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: twenty one, he told her how his ex wife looked good.
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: See you stupid now, you just flat out stupid. Fine
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: as it will when we fet met. Yeah, wow, and
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: she looks like they did when we first met. Safe once.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: Why is she your ex? Dog? And we're still talking
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: about her like she's a current. You draw the line
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: where you want to. If he don't like the line,
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: let him go over there and make a new line. Yeah,
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: but he gonna go over there and find out why
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: they was exes. Oh, it don't take long. Yeah, we're
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: gonna hear about them. Do you all have a friend
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: that you kind of fell off with being friends? But
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: y'all ain't break up and nothing, y'all just y'all became
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: distance for whatever family life, whatever, yeah, and you hang
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: out with him again and you discover exactly why you
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: don't miss them. Absolutely. Yes, yeah, coming up our last
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: break up the day. It's the last break up the day,
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: and we'll have some stirring uh closing remarks from the
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: one and the only Steve Harvey at forty nine minutes
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: after right after this, you're listening, here we go, last
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: break of the day. Wow to tonight will be the
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: last night of the DNC. And last night did that?
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: Oh yeah, they did? They just outstanding. Yes. I got
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: chills when Kamala Harris the nomination for vice president. Proud moment,
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: a very proud moment. And we got to keep going
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: and make sure they get in uh November three, yes, uh.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: And then there was President Barack Obama who nailed it
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: as always last night. Yeah, and presidential that's true, and
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: that's exactly appreciate what is pushing my clothes remarks because
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: last night, when I was listening to President Obama talk,
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: it dawned on me and it was such a stark
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: contrast to what we've been hearing for the past four
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: years from the current person who holds the office. How
- 1:21:20Speaker 1: convinced I am more than ever that the wrong person
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: is there. Because I didn't need to hear from Barack
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Obama last night to know that we have the wrong president,
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: but to see what a president really is supposed to
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: sound like, to watching his eloquence of speech, his use
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: of the language, his vocabulary, willing to heal, to say
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: something to make people feel better. Donald Trump says nothing
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: to make people feel better. It is amazing, man, how
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: his supporters are. Rush Limbaugh who quotes these things that's
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: negative about Kamala Harris and I'm not gonna sit here
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: and let him fire away on his radio show. And
- 1:22:07Speaker 1: I don't fire back on my radio show. I am
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: coming to the rescue, to the aid and to the
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: defense of women. You know, man, I get sick of
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: people who feel as though they can do women any
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: kind of way. And because this woman happens to be black,
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: do you know On Amazon, Amazon, Amazon need to watch
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: their step two. They are selling a shirt that's under
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: the title of Trump twenty twenty shirts by Kevin Joe
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: and the Whole Vote No twenty twenty. Now, see, you've
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: gone too far. You've gone entirely too far. You are
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: calling a woman who is running from the vice who's
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: running for to be Vice President of the United States,
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: the second highest office in the land, and you have
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: a T shirt out referring to her as a hope
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: Na Manna not on my watch, Kevin rush Limbaugh and
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: anybody else. It ain't right, man, It just ain't right.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: You claim to be such a moral party, but you
- 1:23:31Speaker 1: are willing to participate in any immoral act that this
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: man allows you and does on his watch. I ain't
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: with it, man. You know what, man? I got that
- 1:23:42Speaker 1: everybody makes mistakes, but when you're when but when there's
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: no repentance for your mistakes, when you're willing to just
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: do what you want to do and say what you
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: want to do, you ain't ever got the capacity to
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: say I'm sorry. There's no remorse in your actions. You
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: pay it off pornose stars, You got playboy bunnies in
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: your house, All your friends you bought are going to jail,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: your pardoning criminals. You're jumping over and controlling the Department
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: of Justice. You're closing down mailboxes in democratic precincts. You
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: do whatever you want to do, and you're supposed to
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: be the moral party. Are you serious? Man? And this
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: T shirt has really really pissed me off. See, I'm
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: curious asked to if you didn't call Stormy McDaniels a hole.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: You didn't call the playboy bunny touring the Trump House
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: with Melatne, you didn't call her hole. But now this
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: woman runs for vice president. All of a sudden, determined
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: hole comes up. This is real life, man, Are you
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: kidding me? And you can't help but make me think
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: it's because she black? Well, let me tell you what
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: she really is. She's highly educated, she's incredibly well spoken,
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: she's dignified, she's classy, and on top of all that,
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: she's black. That's why you got the problem. That's really
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: why you got the problem sometimes man, y'all racism. Man,
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: you can't even tuck it away. You can't hide it
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: for just a minute. We already got the T shirts.
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: Are you serious? Man? Amazon? You got the nerd to
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: be selling this. You know this ain't right. Take this
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: off your platform. Amazon. We spend too much money to
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: sit back and let you degrade this woman like that.
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: If you don't like her policy, that's one thing. But
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: you're not gonna call this sister, No, hope, that ain't
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: what it is. Her name is Kamala Harris. Guess what.
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: She's running for Vice President of the United States of America.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: That's what she is. And you're gonna play with us,
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: and we're gonna show you something how serious black lives
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: really do matter, because we're gonna get her in the
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: White House. What's she gonna be, Then you can say
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: what you want to say. She gonna end up in
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: the White House in spite of you, because of all
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: the things you've done to us. We've survived it all.
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: We're gonna get this one too. But we're gonna show
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: you something in November. Mister Trump and the evil side
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: of his supporters. There's some great Republicans in this country,
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: but the dudely wrote this shirt ain't one of them.
- 1:26:37Speaker 1: And the Dudela perpetrates it on his radio show, he
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: ain't another one too. Now, you can call me what
- 1:26:42Speaker 1: you want to call me, but you're gonna refer to
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: that sister in more respectful terms because she's running for
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: the second highest office in the land. Her name is
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: Kamala Harris. And we're gonna do our part, and I'm
