- 1:43Speaker 1: Her second appearance, Dr Cosette M White, Good, how are
- 1:48Speaker 1: you well. I want to thank you for the very
- 1:50Speaker 1: nice uh note you wrote in her You're amazing. Thanks
- 1:53Speaker 1: to you for your support. Okay, that was really cool.
- 1:56Speaker 1: You know, really says something nice about rashand McDonald in
- 1:58Speaker 1: your book. Okay, I'm saying some really great things about
- 2:05Speaker 1: your book, and I'm gonna be I'm gonna say I'm
- 2:08Speaker 1: mad at you about this book. Okay, but it's still great.
- 2:10Speaker 1: It's really great because because man, you're not telling your story,
- 2:16Speaker 1: your recovery story. Because your story and I'm talking about
- 2:18Speaker 1: the abuse when you when you got in a relationship
- 2:21Speaker 1: where you met met a young man and after six months,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I got married and you have two beautiful kids. But
- 2:28Speaker 1: you endured over five you're five or six year period, uh,
- 2:33Speaker 1: darkness of physical violence that you was able to overcome
- 2:36Speaker 1: and you and that's like maybe like twenty pages in
- 2:39Speaker 1: this book. And uh, and that's to me, was such
- 2:42Speaker 1: a heroic recovery for you that I want to I
- 2:46Speaker 1: want to hear that story. I want to read that
- 2:47Speaker 1: story because step by step, uh, you did some amazing
- 2:51Speaker 1: things there. And then you immediately go into the you know,
- 2:55Speaker 1: the you know recovery of how you can will yourself
- 2:58Speaker 1: to success through your ice. But the first part of
- 3:01Speaker 1: that book, young lady, is, uh, you you overcame some stuff.
- 3:05Speaker 1: Can you tell us my, my my listeners and viewers
- 3:08Speaker 1: about that? Absolutely? Well, first of all, you know, I
- 3:12Speaker 1: got into the situation quick as you can. As you
- 3:14Speaker 1: just said, six months, I met a gentleman and then
- 3:17Speaker 1: I got married. Now what I what I wanted to
- 3:20Speaker 1: say to you as well as to the listeners. It
- 3:23Speaker 1: didn't start immediately. It was a build up and it
- 3:26Speaker 1: was basically an individual that started. Um. They brought drugs,
- 3:30Speaker 1: probably drugs into the family, and it began to destroy
- 3:34Speaker 1: the family, destroy the marriage, and just destroy everything. And
- 3:38Speaker 1: with that came the abuse, that came the verbal abuse,
- 3:41Speaker 1: the physical abuse. UM. When I say abuse to you
- 3:46Speaker 1: as well as to the listeners, those of you and
- 3:48Speaker 1: I don't want to tell the full story, but it was. UM.
- 3:52Speaker 1: You know, I suffered black eyes, I suffered hot water
- 3:55Speaker 1: being thrown on me. And I still have those cars,
- 3:58Speaker 1: you know, the fox, the bruise is just I suffered
- 4:01Speaker 1: abuse in those last years of that marriage. UM, in
- 4:05Speaker 1: front of your kids, in front of the kids, definitely
- 4:09Speaker 1: in front of the kids. And you know, there were
- 4:11Speaker 1: so many times that I asked, could you just leave?
- 4:13Speaker 1: Could you just leave? And and you know people ask
- 4:18Speaker 1: me to this day, well why didn't you just walk
- 4:19Speaker 1: away from it? What I want to say to everyone,
- 4:22Speaker 1: it sounds easier to just walk away, but you have
- 4:24Speaker 1: to mentally be ready, financially be ready. And it wasn't
- 4:28Speaker 1: that I was not financially ready. That was not the point.
- 4:31Speaker 1: It was just the mental and it got to a
- 4:34Speaker 1: point where I had just had one fock too many
- 4:37Speaker 1: and I was like, I cannot endure this any longer.
- 4:39Speaker 1: This is not the life that God Um has for me.
- 4:42Speaker 1: This is not how I was raised. This is not
- 4:45Speaker 1: anything that I want to continue being in. Nor do
- 4:48Speaker 1: I want my kids to be in an environment where
- 4:51Speaker 1: they have to see this, Because, as we know, um,
- 4:56Speaker 1: our kids are our kids. Our kids are part of
- 5:01Speaker 1: our They're the makeup of their environment. So whatever they
- 5:04Speaker 1: are raised in, whenever they see growing up, they tend
- 5:07Speaker 1: to take on those same habits. So I didn't want
- 5:09Speaker 1: my daughter to be to grow up and be involved
- 5:12Speaker 1: in a marriage a relationship where a man was abusing her.
- 5:15Speaker 1: Nor did I want my son to be in a
- 5:18Speaker 1: relationship where he felt that he had to put his
- 5:20Speaker 1: hands on another woman. So I had to get out
- 5:23Speaker 1: of that situation and I had to get out of
- 5:25Speaker 1: it quick. And you did, you did, and I did.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I did. But it wasn't easy as it sound. I
- 5:30Speaker 1: asked numerous times, Okay, now, that's why I want more
- 5:34Speaker 1: from you, and I want that story told more extensively
- 5:37Speaker 1: because it sounds easy in your book. You know what
- 5:39Speaker 1: I'm saying because because of the fact that you know,
- 5:42Speaker 1: and I know that's a very painful part to relive,
- 5:45Speaker 1: you know, and the details, the steps. But I think
- 5:47Speaker 1: that and I honestly feel that because that's when that's
- 5:50Speaker 1: why I wanted you to come back on the show.
- 5:52Speaker 1: One of the reasons because also to talk about your book,
- 5:55Speaker 1: but also that that courageous period because like I said,
- 5:58Speaker 1: this is over five six year period. Like I said,
- 6:00Speaker 1: you your daughters five weeks old when he first punched
- 6:02Speaker 1: you in the eye, and so so so from five
- 6:05Speaker 1: weeks old, you know, and I think your daughters like four,
- 6:08Speaker 1: you know, which is your oldest child. So that's a
- 6:11Speaker 1: four year run a violence, you know. And and with
- 6:14Speaker 1: with when you was disguising your injuries by wearing sweaters
- 6:17Speaker 1: in the summer. So so your police was telling you
- 6:21Speaker 1: that they come again, they gotta they can't just keep
- 6:23Speaker 1: you can't cause no more. You can't cause because you
- 6:25Speaker 1: was living in the state of California, and so it
- 6:28Speaker 1: was at the point where you were not able to
- 6:32Speaker 1: to make the right decisions for the safety of yourself
- 6:34Speaker 1: and the safety your kids because you were trapped emotionally,
- 6:37Speaker 1: and the decision making part. That's what it's really more important.
- 6:41Speaker 1: And so many women are living that lifestyle now, Yeah,
- 6:44Speaker 1: they are, they are, And that is why I wanted
- 6:46Speaker 1: to get this message out. And you know, I fought
- 6:49Speaker 1: back and forth with my emotions on whether or not
- 6:52Speaker 1: I really wanted to really reveal who the true because
- 6:55Speaker 1: that was who who I wasn't writing this book. So
- 6:59Speaker 1: many times aren't told the story of I was involved
- 7:01Speaker 1: in a marriage that was into due two drugs, but
- 7:04Speaker 1: I never got into the domestic violence side of it.
- 7:08Speaker 1: And when I decided to move forward with it, I
- 7:11Speaker 1: was just totally shocked with a number of women that says, oh,
- 7:15Speaker 1: that's my story, that's the plain exact thing that I
- 7:18Speaker 1: went through. Um, but you never know until you just
- 7:21Speaker 1: you tell your story. But I know today there's someone
- 7:25Speaker 1: who's dealing with that right now, someone that's afraid of
- 7:29Speaker 1: how am I going to get out of this? I
- 7:31Speaker 1: don't have the money to leave. He's threatened me, he's
- 7:33Speaker 1: done this. But you just have to step out. You
- 7:37Speaker 1: have to get away from it. You have to get away.
- 7:39Speaker 1: There's no way a grown man should be putting him
- 7:42Speaker 1: or a woman and that for that matter, should be
- 7:45Speaker 1: putting their hands on another individual, because you point that
- 7:47Speaker 1: out in your book. You said proximately five point six
- 7:50Speaker 1: million women and two point four million men estimated to
- 7:54Speaker 1: be physically assaulted by intimate partner annually in the United States,
- 7:58Speaker 1: And so you point that out, and that's very important
- 8:01Speaker 1: that you reveal those numbers because a lot of people
- 8:04Speaker 1: don't realize men are being physically abused as well, and
- 8:08Speaker 1: they don't know how to walk away. You think a
- 8:10Speaker 1: female or lady doesn't know how to walk away from
- 8:12Speaker 1: that situation. A man really don't know how to deal
- 8:14Speaker 1: with that situation because the fact that you can be
- 8:16Speaker 1: called a coward, he would call a wimp, he can
- 8:20Speaker 1: call up. Won't you man up? You know it does
- 8:22Speaker 1: man up me physically attacking her. Now, So you're coiner
- 8:25Speaker 1: in a lot of situations. But your situation is not unique,
- 8:28Speaker 1: but it is special because you wrote a book about
- 8:30Speaker 1: it and you are achieving a love of success. You
- 8:34Speaker 1: have too fantastic kids now who are who are older
- 8:38Speaker 1: not living successful lives because of the fact that you
- 8:41Speaker 1: allowed them to tell your daughter, look, no man should
- 8:44Speaker 1: treat you like this, and you told your son you
- 8:47Speaker 1: should never treat a woman like this, and now that's
- 8:49Speaker 1: the guide in course to you being successful. Right in
- 8:54Speaker 1: the purpose of the book. Rahan also, yes, well it
- 8:57Speaker 1: was to tell it is to tell my story, but
- 8:59Speaker 1: also to let other men and one and know, Hey,
- 9:02Speaker 1: in going through this, I fell down. I lost a lot,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I lost my job, I lost I lost a lot.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I was pretty much penniless. Let me just put it
- 9:12Speaker 1: like that, I lost a lot and me and that
- 9:15Speaker 1: my background is finance accounting. That's why I put it
- 9:18Speaker 1: in the context us. Okay, I failed down, but this
- 9:21Speaker 1: is what I did to get back on track. This
- 9:23Speaker 1: is what I did to get to the point where
- 9:25Speaker 1: I'm at now today. Did I allow that to be
- 9:28Speaker 1: a stumbling block for me? Initially? Yes, But I had
- 9:32Speaker 1: to realize that I wasn't the only individual that had
- 9:36Speaker 1: gone through that, and I needed to do something different.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I needed to turn my life around financially speaking, so
- 9:42Speaker 1: that I could not keep going back to those dark moments.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I go back to them, but I don't stay there,
- 9:49Speaker 1: you know what I mean. I go back to those
- 9:50Speaker 1: dark moments, but I don't find myself just just in
- 9:54Speaker 1: that puddle. I had to get out of that puddle.
- 9:56Speaker 1: It's amazing. I'm talking to Dr Cosette White. She was
- 9:59Speaker 1: She's written a an amazing book called Unveiling the Mask,
- 10:02Speaker 1: The Ultimate Guide to Rebound from Financial Disaster is a
- 10:05Speaker 1: must read. I'm telling people they should buy this is
- 10:07Speaker 1: a fantastic book. I know we're running short on time here,
- 10:10Speaker 1: but I wanted to bring out something that I that
- 10:12Speaker 1: that I took. I started taking the Money Personality Quiz.
- 10:17Speaker 1: That's the very front of the book. That's something that
- 10:19Speaker 1: she's asking you to take, and it sets the tone
- 10:22Speaker 1: for how she will direct you the rest of the book.
- 10:24Speaker 1: My question on the money Personality quiz, how did you
- 10:27Speaker 1: develop the questions for your money personality quiz? UM? I took.
- 10:32Speaker 1: I took a I took He studies UM with a
- 10:35Speaker 1: few maybe about amazing about fifty individuals, and then I
- 10:38Speaker 1: just compiled questions and put them in there. And I
- 10:41Speaker 1: think that they are very no, no, no, no, seriously,
- 10:44Speaker 1: they are really good questions. Because the few people that
- 10:48Speaker 1: have provided me feedback on the book, that's the very
- 10:51Speaker 1: first thing that they say, I took the money personality test,
- 10:55Speaker 1: and I'm a saver or I know what I am
- 10:57Speaker 1: without even taking the personality test, I know I'm a spender. Um,
- 11:01Speaker 1: one person is a worrior, so I'm a combination of them.
- 11:05Speaker 1: But that's how I came up with the questions. I
- 11:07Speaker 1: just took a sample of a few people, about fifty people,
- 11:10Speaker 1: and then I just compiled all the questions and put
- 11:12Speaker 1: it in the book. Well that's I love that idea,
- 11:15Speaker 1: because that's what Steve Harvey did basically with his book
- 11:17Speaker 1: Act Regularity to Think like a Man. He talked to
- 11:20Speaker 1: a group of women to get assist a feel for
- 11:24Speaker 1: how they were reacting. And that's why I wanted you
- 11:25Speaker 1: to know, So you said, Richard, I took these questions
- 11:28Speaker 1: to the people, to the masses, and this is how
- 11:30Speaker 1: they reacted. And so when people read about them in
- 11:33Speaker 1: the book, they get a natural field. And I thought
- 11:35Speaker 1: they were very natural questions. That's why I wanted to know.
- 11:37Speaker 1: When you develop those questions, it's really good. Yeah, you
- 11:41Speaker 1: gotta go and get the samples. And you gotta because
- 11:43Speaker 1: after all, the book is for the readers, So you
- 11:45Speaker 1: want to make sure that you're giving them what they
- 11:48Speaker 1: want to read. You know what I mean, Well, you're
- 11:49Speaker 1: giving the people what they want and what they need.
- 11:52Speaker 1: I want to tell you, I want I want to
- 11:54Speaker 1: thank you for another call, you know, but I'll tell
- 11:57Speaker 1: you something. You're a regular now. I'm just gonna tell
- 11:59Speaker 1: you because this book I talked about the emotional part,
- 12:02Speaker 1: and we've got to come back and bring you back again.
- 12:04Speaker 1: If you don't mind, talk more detail about the financial side,
- 12:08Speaker 1: unveiling the Mask the ultimate God to rebound from a
- 12:11Speaker 1: financial disaster. Dr Koz White, you are a regular a
- 12:15Speaker 1: money make conversation where you want to or not. I
- 12:19Speaker 1: love it. I love it. Thank you so much for Sean. Okay,
- 12:21Speaker 1: keep winning. All right, all right, thank you, have a
- 12:24Speaker 1: great day. You need to check out the wireless earbuds
- 12:26Speaker 1: from Recon. Recon earbuds start off about half the price
