Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Schumer Shutdown continues as Dems Blame Trump, NOT themselves
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: We have a new conspiracy theory from the Democrats. It
- 0:05Speaker 1: is now to say that Donald Trump is unwell, he's
- 0:09Speaker 1: unfit for office, that Donald Trump is the most immature
- 0:13Speaker 1: present we've ever had. Democrats thinking this, I don't know,
- 0:18Speaker 1: slid of hand will work during the government's shutdown to
- 0:21Speaker 1: confuse the American people, and somehow instead of blaming Chuck
- 0:24Speaker 1: Schumer for the problem of the government being shut down,
- 0:28Speaker 1: that you'll think this is Donald Trump being crazy. How
- 0:31Speaker 1: do we know this is an orchestrated plan. Well, let
- 0:34Speaker 1: me let you hear what Chuck Schumer said from the
- 0:37Speaker 1: floor of the Senate. Listen carefully of the words he uses.
- 0:41Speaker 2: When Democrats say, we want to work with Republicans to
- 0:43Speaker 2: lower premiums to strengthen healthcare, all we are doing is
- 0:49Speaker 2: reflecting what the American people already want, nothing more and
- 0:53Speaker 2: nothing less. They want us to sit down and negotiate
- 0:58Speaker 2: something real that takes this huge, huge burden off their shoulders.
- 1:03Speaker 2: And Donald Trump, instead of acting like an adult, it's
- 1:08Speaker 2: the most immature president we have ever had, instead of
- 1:11Speaker 2: doing something to stop the healthcare crisis is threatening to
- 1:15Speaker 2: hurt countless hardworking Americans. Let me repeat the quote Donald
- 1:20Speaker 2: Trump said yesterday, we can do things during the shutdown
- 1:23Speaker 2: that are irreversible. They're bad for them, and irreversible, like
- 1:27Speaker 2: cutting vast numbers of people out, cutting things they like,
- 1:29Speaker 2: cutting programs they like. Donald Trump says it loud and clear.
- 1:33Speaker 2: And that's one thing about him. He is using the
- 1:36Speaker 2: American people as pawns, threatening pain on the country as blackmail. Well,
- 1:42Speaker 2: that's not going to work. The American people. It's so
- 1:45Speaker 2: easy to see through those tactics. They know this is
- 1:48Speaker 2: the Trump shutdown. They know Republicans control the Presidency, the Senate,
- 1:53Speaker 2: and the House, and what is done during a shutdown
- 1:57Speaker 2: will fall squarely on the Republican's back. Donald Trump even
- 2:00Speaker 2: says it. He says he is going to close down
- 2:03Speaker 2: all these things people want.
- 2:05Speaker 1: Donald Trump is the most immature president we've ever had.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Donald Trump instead of acting like an adult, now, Chuck
- 2:11Speaker 1: Schumer is trying to Jedi mind trick the American people
- 2:14Speaker 1: believing somehow right now that this shutdown is the fault
- 2:18Speaker 1: of Donald Trump. I think everyone knows very clearly that
- 2:23Speaker 1: is a lot. And if that's not working, let me
- 2:26Speaker 1: just go back and remind you what Chuck Schumer used
- 2:28Speaker 1: to say about government shutdowns and what Nancy Pelosi used
- 2:31Speaker 1: to say about government shutdowns December the eleventh, twenty eighteen,
- 2:36Speaker 1: in the Oval Office with President Trump, as Trump hosted
- 2:40Speaker 1: a last ditch talk to avoid a government shutdown when
- 2:43Speaker 1: Democrats were in charge in Congress. And here is what
- 2:47Speaker 1: he had to say about shuts down shutdowns back then.
- 2:51Speaker 2: We do not want to shut down the government because
- 2:53Speaker 2: you can't get you shut it down. Yeh, can me
- 2:55Speaker 2: say something, mister President North Dakota, a.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Master for we came.
- 3:00Speaker 4: You're in good faith and we're entering into this kind
- 3:05Speaker 4: of a discussion in the public transparency, and it's not
- 3:11Speaker 4: transparency when we're not stipulating to a set of facts.
- 3:14Speaker 1: I love it when we're not stipulating to a set
- 3:17Speaker 1: of facts. We are not here. We are not here
- 3:20Speaker 1: to shut down the government. Well, now Democrats under fire
- 3:23Speaker 1: for these clips showing them slamming government shutdown tactics, the
- 3:26Speaker 1: same ones that they're literally using as we speak right now,
- 3:33Speaker 1: my good friend Scott Jennings saying this to Democrats on
- 3:37Speaker 1: CNN about the government shutdown as well.
- 3:40Speaker 5: Well, hopefully the Democrats come to their senses here and
- 3:43Speaker 5: we'll go to the floor of the respective chambers and
- 3:45Speaker 5: pass a clean continuing resolution. The Republicans put that on
- 3:49Speaker 5: the floor. No tricks, no funny business, nothing up our sleeves.
- 3:54Speaker 5: Just hey, let's keep the government open for another several
- 3:57Speaker 5: weeks while we work this through in a normal process.
- 4:00Speaker 5: Democrats voted against that, and so I'm hoping they come
- 4:03Speaker 5: out of this meeting thinking that that's a better option
- 4:06Speaker 5: than simply shutting down the government. It's just not realistic
- 4:08Speaker 5: the demands they're making.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Now.
- 4:10Speaker 5: Donald Trump may get in the room and wheel and deal.
- 4:12Speaker 5: He is a deal maker. So, like Speaker Johnson, I
- 4:14Speaker 5: wouldn't want to predict what the President's willing to do
- 4:16Speaker 5: on the fly, but I do think it's pretty reprehensible
- 4:19Speaker 5: that the Democrats have taken us to the brink of
- 4:21Speaker 5: a shutdown with a list of demands that, frankly, are
- 4:24Speaker 5: just not even within the realm of the realistic right now.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Not even in the realm of realistic right now, Democrats
- 4:32Speaker 1: are lying about shutting down the government. Everyone knows is
- 4:35Speaker 1: a Shumer shut down. It's not just realistic the demands
- 4:39Speaker 1: that they're making, right it's insane. And the American people
- 4:43Speaker 1: voted on this the American people voted and said, we
- 4:46Speaker 1: do not want to find healthcare for one point two
- 4:48Speaker 1: million legal aliens. The American people do not vote for
- 4:52Speaker 1: one trillion plus of extra spending that would bring back
- 4:56Speaker 1: in PR and PBS and money for trans surgeries. The
- 5:01Speaker 1: American people are done with funding this woke bs with
- 5:05Speaker 1: our tax dollars that we've been funding for years. Elections
- 5:10Speaker 1: have consequences. We all know it. Elections have real consequences,
- 5:19Speaker 1: and we are witnessing right now what happens when there
- 5:22Speaker 1: are real consequences. Democrats are out there and who are
- 5:27Speaker 1: they supporting? A communists? Mandani, by the way, republicly today
- 5:34Speaker 1: refused to apologize for calling the NYBD racists and saying
- 5:38Speaker 1: we should abolish them and defund them. He was on
- 5:41Speaker 1: the view. So if you want to know who the
- 5:42Speaker 1: Democrats are right now, this is one of their leaders
- 5:45Speaker 1: of their party.
- 5:46Speaker 6: Have you formally apologize to the NYPD.
- 5:48Speaker 7: These are conversations that I'm having individually with officers, and
- 5:52Speaker 7: I've appreciated that because it's through those conversations with rank
- 5:55Speaker 7: and file officers that I've learned more about the difficulties
- 5:58Speaker 7: of this job.
- 5:59Speaker 6: Have you for apologize to the NYPD.
- 6:01Speaker 1: Yeah no, the answer is no, he is not. Why
- 6:05Speaker 1: because this is who they are. And while all this
- 6:08Speaker 1: is happening, there was some breaking news. The media doesn't
- 6:11Speaker 1: want to tell you this. The SMP hit sixty seven
- 6:14Speaker 1: hundred for the first time ever, a new all time
- 6:18Speaker 1: closing high for the Dow. You think if a Democrat
- 6:21Speaker 1: was in office, would they be just going berserk on
- 6:23Speaker 1: the nightly news tonight? Yeah? Did they know? Because the
- 6:27Speaker 1: state sponsored media at ABCNBCCBS or scumbags. So here's a
- 6:32Speaker 1: little bit, at least from CNBC about the actual news
- 6:35Speaker 1: that everyone should be talking about. But first I want
- 6:38Speaker 1: to talk to you about my friends over at Patriot Mobile.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You've got a lot of choices for cell phone service,
- 6:44Speaker 1: with new ones popping up all the time. But if
- 6:47Speaker 1: you want to make a difference and you want to
- 6:49Speaker 1: stop giving your money to liberal companies, well one way
- 6:52Speaker 1: you can do that is by getting rid of Liberal
- 6:55Speaker 1: Mobile you probably have right now. That is where hundreds
- 6:58Speaker 1: of thousands of a mayors are now coming together and
- 7:01Speaker 1: have made Patriot Mobile what they are today. They've been
- 7:04Speaker 1: in service now for thirteen years, and right now is
- 7:09Speaker 1: the best time ever to switch because it's never been easier. Now,
- 7:13Speaker 1: before I tell you about that, I want you to
- 7:15Speaker 1: know why switching is so important. Because every time you
- 7:18Speaker 1: make a call, every time you send a text, and
- 7:20Speaker 1: every time that you pay your bill, you're actually standing
- 7:23Speaker 1: up for the values you believe in. Your First and
- 7:25Speaker 1: your Second Amendment rights, the rights of unborn children. And
- 7:28Speaker 1: you stand with our military, our veterans, our wounded warriors,
- 7:32Speaker 1: and our fallen soldier families. Because Patriot Mobile takes about
- 7:35Speaker 1: five percent of your bill every month at no extra
- 7:38Speaker 1: cost to you, and they give it back to these
- 7:41Speaker 1: organizations that fight for our values. Now, let's talk about switching.
- 7:45Speaker 1: It has never been easier. You can keep your same number,
- 7:48Speaker 1: keep your saying phone, or upgrade. Patriot Mobile's got a
- 7:51Speaker 1: one hundred percent US based customer service team and literally
- 7:54Speaker 1: they can now with technology, get you activated in minutes
- 7:58Speaker 1: from the comforty your home or your office. You're second
- 8:01Speaker 1: a contractor owe money on your phones, no worries. Patriot
- 8:05Speaker 1: Mobile has a contract buyout program and this is how
- 8:08Speaker 1: we win, folks, by aligning our spinning with our values.
- 8:12Speaker 1: Every dollar we spend matters. Now, let me also give
- 8:15Speaker 1: you a free month of service. Go to Patriotmobile dot
- 8:18Speaker 1: com slash ferguson. That's Patriot Mobile dot com slash ferguson,
- 8:25Speaker 1: or you can call them nine to seven to two Patriot.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Use the promo code ferguson, and you're gonna get one
- 8:31Speaker 1: month free service by switching today. So again, Patriotmobile dot
- 8:35Speaker 1: com slash ferguson. Use the promo code ferguson. You'll get
- 8:38Speaker 1: a free month of service today Patriotmobile dot com slash
- 8:42Speaker 1: ferguson or nine to seven to two Patriot. Here's a
- 8:44Speaker 1: little bit about the actual news that everyone should be
- 8:47Speaker 1: talking about.
- 8:48Speaker 6: Doc's shaking off the shutdown, charging higher the S and
- 8:52Speaker 6: P five hundred, hitting sixty seven hundred for the first
- 8:55Speaker 6: time ever, a new all time closing high for the Dow,
- 8:58Speaker 6: as well Forractional, the NAZAC the best performer today but
- 9:02Speaker 6: closing just short of a record. Healthcare once again the
- 9:05Speaker 6: best performing sector. That's nice to drugstocks. Utilities also a gainer.
- 9:09Speaker 1: There you go twenty one seconds of just pure raw reporting.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Oh but no, no, no, we can't cover that. No,
- 9:19Speaker 1: what do we have to do? We got to talk
- 9:20Speaker 1: about the Democrats and are they willing to care about
- 9:23Speaker 1: your feelings?
- 9:24Speaker 8: No?
- 9:25Speaker 1: Do they care about all the Americans who aren't going
- 9:27Speaker 1: to get paychecks in our government, including our military. No
- 9:31Speaker 1: Democrats cashing in their checks. We know that, why because
- 9:34Speaker 1: they were asked about it.
- 9:36Speaker 2: So this.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Fill casey with it is such a darning sense to
- 9:43Speaker 3: advise yelling high members how old is it?
- 9:46Speaker 9: Duff though, Yeah, that's a question that every individual member
- 9:50Speaker 9: is going to have to make on their own, as
- 9:52Speaker 9: has always been the case in the past. We withholds uh.
- 9:56Speaker 9: First of all, that question is not even a ripe
- 10:00Speaker 9: one because we're anticipating that this shutdown issue will be resolved.
- 10:06Speaker 1: You guys started it. The question is when are you
- 10:08Speaker 1: going to resolve it. The Democrat Schumer shutdown will cost Americans.
- 10:12Speaker 1: It's now estimated by the CBO four hundred million a day,
- 10:17Speaker 1: four one hundred million a day. This is their doing.
- 10:23Speaker 1: They chose to do this, They said, this is what
- 10:26Speaker 1: we want to do. So it's four hundred million a
- 10:29Speaker 1: day for these antics that we're witnessing right now. And
- 10:33Speaker 1: the Democrats care more about illegal aliens and American citizens
- 10:37Speaker 1: and that's why the Democrats shut down the government. The
- 10:40Speaker 1: Democrat continuing resolution Now that we're saying the real dollars
- 10:44Speaker 1: and cents. Are you ready for this? The Democrats Continuing
- 10:48Speaker 1: Resolution spends nearly two hundred billion on healthcare subsidies for
- 10:53Speaker 1: illegal immigrants and other non citizens. I'm going to go
- 10:57Speaker 1: to this, to this to the Democrats cr what they demanded,
- 11:02Speaker 1: ending Medicaid funding for non citizens. Cost of repeal six
- 11:06Speaker 1: point two million. Twenty eight million for ending enhanced FMap
- 11:11Speaker 1: for emergency care for legal immigrants, thirty four million, closing
- 11:15Speaker 1: the California loophole, ending Medicare funding for non citizens, another
- 11:20Speaker 1: five million, ending Obamacare funding for non citizens another ninety
- 11:24Speaker 1: one million, repealing the Obamacare special rule for I legal
- 11:27Speaker 1: immigrants twenty seven million. Total there one hundred and ninety
- 11:31Speaker 1: two million. I'm sorry, I got that wrong. Billion the total.
- 11:36Speaker 1: If you add that all up, so you've got two
- 11:39Speaker 1: hundred billion on healthcare subsidies for illegal immigrants. That is
- 11:44Speaker 1: what they shut down the government over. And Democrats shutting
- 11:48Speaker 1: down the government because President Trump and Republicans are not
- 11:52Speaker 1: forcing American taxpayers to pay for free health care for
- 11:55Speaker 1: illegal immigrants. That is what the President ran on. That
- 11:59Speaker 1: is what he said he was going to do. That
- 12:01Speaker 1: is what he believes. Democrats calling Trump's bill a dirty bill,
- 12:07Speaker 1: the speaker responding to that.
- 12:09Speaker 8: In fact, and anybody who looks at it objectively has
- 12:12Speaker 8: to say it's true.
- 12:12Speaker 7: So you see, it's a clean CR. The Democrats say
- 12:15Speaker 7: it's a dirty CR, but the Committee for a Responsible
- 12:17Speaker 7: Federal Budget seems to side with you. This is what
- 12:20Speaker 7: the policy director Chris Towner said. The House CR is
- 12:24Speaker 7: just about as clean of a CR as you could get.
- 12:27Speaker 7: They really did seem to not want to rock the
- 12:29Speaker 7: boat with it. It's been pointed out that this is
- 12:33Speaker 7: similar funding measured that Chuck Schumer and eight other Democrats
- 12:36Speaker 7: voted for in March. But it's a little bit apples
- 12:40Speaker 7: to oranges because there have been a lot of changes
- 12:42Speaker 7: made between March and now, including cuts in the Big
- 12:45Speaker 7: Beautiful Bill recissions package, the President's pocket recission. So do
- 12:48Speaker 7: the Democrats have a point that, hey, this is not
- 12:50Speaker 7: what we voted for.
- 12:51Speaker 8: They don't have a point. The time and the place
- 12:54Speaker 8: to argue over all of that is in the appropriations process.
- 12:57Speaker 8: That's how the system works. What we're just trying to
- 13:00Speaker 8: do is buy time. And they're exactly right in that analysis.
- 13:02Speaker 8: I could have loaded this up with all sorts of
- 13:04Speaker 8: partisan provisions and our policy writers and everything that we want.
- 13:08Speaker 8: But we didn't do that because we're operating in good
- 13:11Speaker 8: faith and we want our partners on the other side
- 13:13Speaker 8: of the aisle to go along with us so that
- 13:15Speaker 8: the appropriators can go and debate all these issues. That's
- 13:17Speaker 8: how the system works, and they're preventing it.
- 13:19Speaker 7: So you and others, including the Vice President earlier today
- 13:22Speaker 7: said that Chuck Schumer was digging at his feet down.
- 13:24Speaker 1: Because by the way Chuck Schumer is digging at his
- 13:28Speaker 1: feet I'll go back to what I said earlier. This
- 13:31Speaker 1: is this humor shut down. We should say it over
- 13:34Speaker 1: and over and over again by the people that voted
- 13:39Speaker 1: for this administration a very very clear mandate, and that
- 13:46Speaker 1: mandate is a mandate to cut government waste, fraud, and abuse.
- 13:52Speaker 1: To stop giving our tax dours to people that invade
- 13:55Speaker 1: this country illegal immigrants. To stop making it easy for
- 13:58Speaker 1: illegal immigrants to take advantage of us, because they would
- 14:02Speaker 1: never do this. For Go to Mexico and see even
- 14:04Speaker 1: get your kids into public school. Go to Mexico and
- 14:07Speaker 1: see if they'll give you a hotel room or a
- 14:09Speaker 1: cell phone or allow you to just hang out. They
- 14:14Speaker 1: won't let you do it. You got to go down
- 14:16Speaker 1: there as a tourist, and if you stop being a
- 14:18Speaker 1: tourist that, like, let me tell you, you're in for
- 14:21Speaker 1: a very rude awakening. By the way, I actually don't
- 14:24Speaker 1: have a problem with that at all. I don't have
- 14:29Speaker 1: an issue with it. I think it's totally fine. And
- 14:33Speaker 1: this is part of the reason why there are so
- 14:38Speaker 1: many different people that are so happy with not only
- 14:43Speaker 1: the President standing firm here and not giving in. Secretary
- 14:47Speaker 1: of State Marco Rubia, if I'm a member of the Senate, quote,
- 14:49Speaker 1: Congressional Democrats made the choice to shut down the government.
- 14:52Speaker 1: Their parson actions are undermining America on the world stage
- 14:56Speaker 1: and jeopardizing our national security. He just tweeted this out
- 14:59Speaker 1: a moment ago. Again, I agree with him, and I
- 15:03Speaker 1: think what we do now is we take this as
- 15:05Speaker 1: an opportunity. We take it as an opportunity to downsize
- 15:11Speaker 1: the government even more. Jd Vance making sure he goes
- 15:18Speaker 1: on serious offense explaining exactly what happened with this government shutdown,
- 15:24Speaker 1: how we got to where we are. He said this
- 15:27Speaker 1: at the White House as the media was of course
- 15:30Speaker 1: losing their minds, yelling one of their questions to be answered.
- 15:35Speaker 10: That's a lot, Matt Boyle, President, There's two key Democrat lives.
- 15:40Speaker 10: I would like to get you one to see if
- 15:43Speaker 10: you can address. The firsts is that you're seeing a
- 15:45Speaker 10: number of top Democrat leaders, from Kamala Harris and Chuck
- 15:48Speaker 10: Schumer to the King Jeffries, claim that it is a
- 15:50Speaker 10: Republican shutdown caused by Trump. The second days is that
- 15:54Speaker 10: they're out there now claiming that they don't want to
- 15:57Speaker 10: give healthcare to illegal aliens. Can you address both of
- 16:00Speaker 10: those last from the Democrat Party.
- 16:02Speaker 3: Yeah, so on the point that to say Republican shut down, look,
- 16:05Speaker 3: it's obviously a Democratic shut down. Just look at the
- 16:07Speaker 3: vote totals in the House, look at the vote totals
- 16:09Speaker 3: in the Senate, and look at the President of the
- 16:10Speaker 3: United States own action and conduct throughout this crisis. Nearly
- 16:14Speaker 3: every single House Republican voted to open the government, Matt.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Nearly every single Senate Republican voted to open the government
- 16:22Speaker 3: last night, and even to their credit, a few moderate
- 16:25Speaker 3: Democrats voted to open the government. That's not a Republican
- 16:28Speaker 3: shutdown when nearly every single Senate Democrat votes to shut
- 16:31Speaker 3: it down and every Republican voted to open it up.
- 16:33Speaker 3: It's just obviously not true. Now, you can disagree about
- 16:37Speaker 3: a number of things, but you can't disagree about the
- 16:39Speaker 3: obvious fact that Republicans voted to open the government. The
- 16:43Speaker 3: President stands ready to sign that opening of the government.
- 16:45Speaker 3: We just need a few more Democrats to join us
- 16:47Speaker 3: in that effort to open the government. Your final question
- 16:50Speaker 3: about illegal alien benefits, Look, the text is very clear,
- 16:54Speaker 3: and I even saw I think it was George Stefanopvolis
- 16:56Speaker 3: and an interview with Mike Johnson did a fact check
- 16:59Speaker 3: that was totally rooted in baseless claims. It was basically
- 17:02Speaker 3: Democrat propaganda. If you look at the legislative text that
- 17:06Speaker 3: they gave us, they tried to turn on two separate
- 17:09Speaker 3: provisions that would give health care benefits to illegal aliens.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Number One, if you're an American citizens, you've been to
- 17:15Speaker 3: a hospital in the last few years, you probably noticed
- 17:17Speaker 3: that wait times are especially large, and very often somebody
- 17:20Speaker 3: who's there in the emergency room waiting is an illegal alien,
- 17:23Speaker 3: very often a person who can't even speak English. Why
- 17:26Speaker 3: do those people get health care benefits at hospitals paid
- 17:30Speaker 3: for by American citizens? The answer is a decision made
- 17:34Speaker 3: by the Biden administration that the Trump administration, working with
- 17:37Speaker 3: Congressional Republicans, undid we turned off that money spigot to
- 17:41Speaker 3: health care funding for illegal aliens. The Democrats in their
- 17:43Speaker 3: legislative texts want to turn it back on. That's one thing.
- 17:46Speaker 3: The second thing, Matt is, we all know that there
- 17:49Speaker 3: are various ways in which the Biden administration waived away
- 17:54Speaker 3: illegal immigration status. They gave paroleees, they gave asylum claims
- 17:58Speaker 3: to people who really claim mean asylum, and when they
- 18:01Speaker 3: waived the magical want of amnesty, giving millions of people
- 18:06Speaker 3: legal status even though they were in the country illegally,
- 18:09Speaker 3: they also gave those people access to health care benefits.
- 18:12Speaker 3: So what the Democrats are engaging in is a slide
- 18:14Speaker 3: of hand. They're saying, no, no, no, those weren't illegal
- 18:17Speaker 3: aliens who were getting health care benefits even though everybody,
- 18:20Speaker 3: excuse me, knows they were in the country illegally. It's
- 18:24Speaker 3: a lie told by the Democrats that they're not trying
- 18:26Speaker 3: to give health care benefits to illegal aliens. It's a
- 18:28Speaker 3: lie that is obviously untrue. If you just look at
- 18:31Speaker 3: the text that they gave us, and all you have
- 18:34Speaker 3: to do is understand that this is about who benefits.
- 18:38Speaker 3: We think the American People's government ought to benefit American citizens.
