- 0:00The B -Side in boxing. B -Side shit. B -Side.
- 0:04B -Side. And the B -Side. You got a B -Side.
- 0:06The B -Side. B -Side. B -Side. B -Side. The B
- 0:10-Side thing. This is the B -Sides Boxing Podcast.
- 0:21Time break. Here we go. Boxing B -Sides. We are
- 0:26back to talk the fights. The homies have assembled.
- 0:31Josh, Saul, my boys, how are we doing? Good,
- 0:35good, good. We're doing fantastic. We got to
- 0:37talk about some great shit today. We do have
- 0:40a lot. Maybe next time is talk about it, but
- 0:44we got some good shit to talk about. We got a
- 0:46lot on the docket. On the docket, we've got two
- 0:50things before we get to the fun stuff. Number
- 0:53one. I am interested in what people have to say,
- 0:57what people think about the titles. What qualifies
- 1:04as a world title? How do you rate the world titles
- 1:07in terms of prestige? How do you rank the titles
- 1:10in terms of their relative prestige? So bxng
- 1:17.co slash survey. I want to hear what you have
- 1:21to say. I want to know what you think about WBF,
- 1:25IBO, all those minor shits. I want to hear about
- 1:30that too. And second thing, the Muhammad Ali
- 1:35American Boxing Revival Act. We are in dire straits
- 1:41at the moment. This legislation has passed the
- 1:45House of Representatives by a considerable margin.
- 1:49It was like 75%. uh in favor of and the thing
- 1:57is that if we don't do something we americans
- 2:02if we don't do something this is going to pass
- 2:06the senate by similar margins so if you go to
- 2:12lvxmedia .net slash b -sides you can you can
- 2:18see the blurb that i put together i i put up
- 2:21a link where you can find your senators, the
- 2:25people who represent you, and you can send them
- 2:29my blurb if you want. If you have something else
- 2:31that you want to tell them, by all means. But
- 2:35I give you the blueprint if you want it. We have
- 2:42to fucking stop this. We cannot let this pass.
- 2:48One thing I will say is that what I said to him,
- 2:51I don't know if this is borderline threatening
- 2:53them. This might be borderline threatening the
- 2:56country. I said, specifically to Alex Padilla.
- 3:03I was like... I don't even know if this is allowed
- 3:09to be said on the air. You want me to block it
- 3:14out? I don't know. You can judge. It's not. It's
- 3:19not bad. Let it rip. Let it rip. All I said to
- 3:23Alex Padilla was, you know, boxing, voting for
- 3:28the Muhammad Ali Revival Act that's going to
- 3:31be going to the Senate, voting yes on that, I
- 3:33will vote for Chad Bianco for governor. And then
- 3:37I will vote for J .D. Vance for president. Oh,
- 3:40shit. Those kinds of threats. This is an existential
- 3:45threat to them, dude. I matter. My vote matters.
- 3:49I explained why. Good. I said it's going to kill
- 3:54the grassroots movement of boxing, which a lot
- 3:57of Southern Californians do rely on, which is,
- 4:03it's a state, you know? Northern and Southern,
- 4:06but I emphasize Southern since it's such a big
- 4:08part of our culture down here. East LA is like
- 4:12a major hub. of boxing exactly exactly it's not
- 4:17it's not i know it sounds like crazy but it's
- 4:20not even infringing on the sport but it's infringing
- 4:23on our culture you know our goddamn freedoms
- 4:29which i know americans love so much oh yeah for
- 4:37a guy that's in bed with trump i don't know if
- 4:39i'm able to speak about this on uh call but uh
- 4:44the guy that's trying to push the shoes through
- 4:47congress is buddies with trump who's in the white
- 4:49house who's fucking shit up so do with that as
- 4:54you will alex pedido well That is enough of the
- 5:00not -so -fun stuff. Let's get to slightly more
- 5:03not -quite -all -the -way fun stuff. MMA talk.
- 5:08We got to shout out our boys over at Ultimate
- 5:12F 'n Casuals. Really quick, we got a few cards
- 5:15that I wanted to point out. UFC Seattle. Alexa
- 5:20Grasso sent a woman to the hospital. Macy Barber.
- 5:25Like, holy... Holy shit. Was this the one that
- 5:30I, where, like, she knocks her out and then puts
- 5:34her in a choke? Yes, exactly. Yes, this is that
- 5:36one. Exactly that one. That's the one I wanted
- 5:39to point out. Yeah, like, Grosso has, like, she
- 5:43has her figured out with just the punches, just
- 5:46the boxing. She hits her with the straight left,
- 5:49puts her, like, gives her the 180. She spins
- 5:53all the way around, and then she jumps on her
- 5:56neck and starts choking the ever -loving fuck
- 5:58out of her. It's brutality. Like, peak brutality.
- 6:07Grasso is coming off of a few -fight skid of
- 6:14losing. Macy Barber was on a seven -fight winning
- 6:18streak, and Grasso just... put the work on her.
- 6:22Holy shit. And the main event, Joe Pfeiffer takes
- 6:28veteran middleweight Israel Adesanya and he just
- 6:32beats the piss out of him. Pfeiffer's not known
- 6:37for his grappling. He used his grappling to such
- 6:41effect that he was able to use it to enable more
- 6:48striking. If that makes sense, it was, it was
- 6:52fucking brutal. Um, we'll, but we'll, we'll talk
- 6:56more about that over on the ultimate effing casuals.
- 6:59It's, it was a pretty solid fight. Um, I wanted
- 7:04to shout out PFL Pittsburgh, just cause it was
- 7:09PFL doesn't always get as much shine as UFC.
- 7:14Um, my My waifu fucking Ariana Lipski got a UD
- 7:20in her PFL debut. Congrats, bae. We're going
- 7:24to go to the fucking Brazilian barbecue to celebrate.
- 7:30The co -main event, Impa Kasanganai. Just one
- 7:36hitter quitter on Dalton Rasta. The MMA segment
- 7:43of our Discord. was popping off like, why is
- 7:49Dalton Rosta trying to strike with a striker?
- 7:51Like, you're a wrestler, dude. You're out of
- 7:56your element, Donnie. And the main event, Johnny
- 8:03Eblen submits Brian Battle, UFC alum Brian Battle.
- 8:07And one more thing, coming up April 11th, UFC
- 8:13327. The co -main event has been changed. Former
- 8:21flyweight champion Alessandra Pantoja will be
- 8:26facing third -rated contender Tatsuro Taira.
- 8:31This is a number one contender fight. And then
- 8:34the vacant light heavyweight title, Yuri Proska.
- 8:38He's 100%. All about striking. Versus Carlos
- 8:44Olberg. Another striking heavy competitor. So
- 8:49this is solid. Like it's number two versus number
- 8:53three. Really good fight. I think they're starting
- 8:59to develop the Leo curse. Where I'm telling you
- 9:04that this is going to be like a striking favorable
- 9:07sort of matchup. And it ends up being not. But
- 9:13yeah. Yeah. What are you going to do? They can't
- 9:17all be winners. Unlike boxing. Moving to some
- 9:22boxing news. Ultimate effing casuals. Wherever
- 9:26you're listening to this, you could get that
- 9:28just as well. Let's get into the boxing news.
- 9:32Mayweather Pacquiao 2. A lot of interesting developments
- 9:36with this fight. The first of which was Floyd
- 9:43Mayweather goes into the media saying, this is
- 9:47not a sanctioned professional event. It's an
- 9:51exhibition. Then news comes out that the fight
- 9:58is canceled altogether. Then Team Pacquiao comes
- 10:04out saying he's in breach of contract. Because
- 10:09it was supposed to be a sanctioned event, not
- 10:12an exhibition. Then it comes out Mayweather took
- 10:18cash advances on his contract. And now we're
- 10:25kind of sitting in limbo of like, what the fuck
- 10:28is happening? There has been some speculation
- 10:31that this is gamesmanship, but I'm not so sure.
- 10:36What do you guys make of this? Because that's
- 10:40a lot of shit. It's a lot of stuff. Genuinely,
- 10:47I would like to believe that Mayweather is that
- 10:52dumb considering the fact that he's in this situation
- 10:55when you have a billion dollars in career earnings
- 10:59with a B. Like... 1 .1. Yeah, like... Wasting
- 11:06every single cent of that money is something
- 11:10that is kind of ridiculous in the first place.
- 11:13So, yeah, he probably would take advances on
- 11:16it. What I got to say is, honestly, one word
- 11:22to describe it is bullshit. Oh, yeah. All this
- 11:27bullshit. Why is that? I got to say that. Well,
- 11:32because to me, it seems like an obvious... Scheme
- 11:34to get some money. I mean, a cash advance? Come
- 11:38on. How often is there a cash advance in boxing
- 11:42negotiations? How often do we hear about it,
- 11:46I think, is the better question. Yeah. Heyman
- 11:49does it to protect those guys that are near retirement.
- 11:52Oh, yeah. Another word, too, to describe it is
- 11:56a clusterfuck. Back and forth, back and forth
- 12:00until it's on, it's off, it's back on, and then...
- 12:02Oh, now it's a breach of contract? Like, dude,
- 12:04you gotta be kidding me. I could tell from my
- 12:06way that Mayweather's trying to, like, game the
- 12:08system. And then, I'm not even, like, we're talking
- 12:12about the Pacquiao shit. When's the fight between
- 12:15Mike Tyson happening? Is that even happening?
- 12:18It should have happened already, I think. Yeah,
- 12:22I mean, what the fuck is up with, what's going
- 12:25on? Respectfully. What is going on with this
- 12:29guy? It seems like he's just trying to get some
- 12:34money to pay off his bills. What do you make
- 12:37of the theory that it's just him trying to generate
- 12:42publicity for the fight? I don't think he's ever
- 12:52done it like this before. Not like this, right.
- 12:54Genuinely, we're just in a place where he's that
- 12:57out of money. So to me, there's no way he's doing
- 13:01this for publicity because the fight happening
- 13:02itself already had a lot of publicity. Even the
- 13:07Mike Tyson fight had a good amount of publicity.
- 13:10I mean, if you have him do a press conference,
- 13:13that's going to get a lot of eyes on it. You
- 13:16know, no matter what. So honestly, I think he's
- 13:20just trying to rig this shit. He's robbing Peter
- 13:25to pay Paul, I think is the average. Yeah, he's
- 13:29Romano Peter P. Paul. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, whatever
- 13:34you want to take away from this, like, I really
- 13:37don't... I genuinely don't think that there's
- 13:40anything good that you can take away from this.
- 13:44Not really. I... Just wanting to give Floyd the
- 13:50benefit of the doubt, I really don't see a lot
- 13:54of... A lot of scenarios where this is a good
- 13:58idea, where what is happening is good for his
- 14:04bottom line. I just, I can't see it. Maybe he
- 14:10knows better than I do. He's been doing this,
- 14:14you know, for how many years at this point? But,
- 14:18like, still. Bro. Even this is a little cheap.
- 14:25Yeah. In boxing, we call this a low blow. Oh,
- 14:29man. What's not a low blow? Oshaki Foster, he
- 14:35will be facing Ray Ford in Houston on May 30th.
- 14:41Ray Ford, maybe not the most deserving challenger,
- 14:45but with the top -ranked matchroom partnership
- 14:51deal. It makes sense that they're going to be
- 14:54putting their guys up against each other. I really
- 15:00don't see a scenario where Foster loses beyond,
- 15:04I don't know, like he breaks his hand. A congenital
- 15:09heart defect. Yeah, like something really unforeseen
- 15:16really happens for Foster. He's like, Ray Ford,
- 15:21like, come on, dude. Foster, you can do better.
- 15:24You really can. Well, honestly, for the current
- 15:28crop at 130, who else really is there besides,
- 15:31I mean, the top guys? But a lot of the top guys
- 15:33have fought recently. So, I mean, you get someone
- 15:37like Anthony Kikachi. You get a unified with
- 15:40Nav. That would have been the most optimal decision.
- 15:43But, I mean, honestly, a fight with Ray Ford,
- 15:45it's a pretty good, it's a pretty decent name
- 15:48to defend against. Ray Ford honestly deserves
- 15:52it more than someone like Stephen Fulton. I understand
- 15:57that Stephen Fulton was a champion, but he had
- 15:59never fought at 130. Whereas Ray Ford, he has
- 16:02fought at 130. I think he was trying to fight
- 16:05for the WBC, working towards the WBC belt. Otherwise,
- 16:11then I must be wrong. I'm probably wrong if that's
- 16:14the case, if he wasn't. But either way, he's
- 16:18already at 130. Taken some fights. I think he
- 16:22maybe not deserves it necessarily, but, you know,
- 16:25it's not a fight I'm mad at. I think it's going
- 16:27to be a pretty decent showing. He's not deserving,
- 16:32but he's not undeserving either. Yeah, like,
- 16:35there are worse title challenges. Yeah. Like,
- 16:38you could have taken Oscar Valdez, Lee Wood,
- 16:43Mauricio Lara. Holy shit. Or Basie Ramirez. Oh,
- 16:49man, he's coming back, isn't he? That's right.
- 16:52You could have always gone with Conce Sao or
- 16:56Bernardo Lopez or Liam Wilson. Like, there's
- 16:59worse guys. Hayato Tsutsumi. I know of a very
- 17:07particular fan of him. But, yeah, that's... We
- 17:16know about their fanfic, by the way. But, yeah,
- 17:23Oshaki Foster, Ray Ford, May 30th, not the worst
- 17:27fight you could ask for. Not the best either,
- 17:31but still, like, yeah, you're right, Saul. This
- 17:35isn't terrible. It could be worse. Who do you
- 17:42catch to just fight for a title? He just beat
- 17:46somebody. He beat Jazza Dickens for a title.
- 17:49It could have been Jazza Dickens, honestly. It
- 17:51could have been Dickens versus Austin. Ray Ford
- 17:55better than a champion? Is that what we're at
- 17:58here? Well, Ray Ford is honestly the 135 -pound
- 18:02champion, but, you know, we don't got to talk
- 18:04about that. Well, you know what? It's on him
- 18:07for losing to Nick Ball, so. Oh, don't worry,
- 18:10Oshaki Foster is the hunter. Oshaki Foster is.
- 18:12Oh, yes, you're right. Yes, yes. He should be
- 18:16the champ, but, you know, WCC shit. Yeah, that's
- 18:21actually part of the survey, is which sanctioning
- 18:25body do you perceive to be most corrupt? I made
- 18:30sure to word that very clearly, that it is on
- 18:34inputters' perception. This is not an accusation.
- 18:42It's just a survey. Take the survey and only
- 18:49glaze Zufa. There's only like two questions where
- 18:54Zufa is mentioned. Because I don't really find
- 19:00them to be worth my time. Imagine we get a bunch
- 19:03of Zufa people, a bunch of Zufa bots watching
- 19:06your show. Five star. That is one of the questions,
- 19:12is where do you rate Zufa on a one to five? Well,
- 19:18zero, so. You have to answer one through five.
- 19:23Like, one is the lowest, unfortunately. That's
- 19:27just the way that the doc was. I'm not even going
- 19:30to get into the satisfaction of giving it a one.
- 19:32I'm going to give it a two. You're going to give
- 19:34it a two. Just because giving it a one, you automatically
- 19:37hate it. No, I'm going to give him a fucking
- 19:40two because I really fucking hate it. Oh, you
- 19:44know who really hates? Gervonta Davis. He is
- 19:48countersuing his ex for def... It's not for defamation.
- 19:52I looked this up. It's because he's suing for
- 19:57damages because he was robbed of his Jake Paul
- 20:02payday because of his allegations. There aren't
- 20:08allegations anymore. Isn't there an actual video
- 20:09that came out? Yes, there's a video. There it
- 20:12is. Allegations in terms of the legal. In legal
- 20:15terms, allegations. And instead, he's suing because
- 20:21I should have been able to. Because you accused
- 20:25me in court of beating you up, I was not allowed
- 20:31to compete in Jake Paul versus Tank Davis. And
- 20:37I missed out on the payday because of you suing
- 20:40me. That's the legal like situation. I don't
- 20:48know what to make of this either. Bullshit. Yeah.
- 20:52Yeah. I'm right there with you. Like, just, you
- 20:56know, don't get into altercations on camera and
- 21:00beating up people that are not boxing opponents.
- 21:05You know? Yeah, allegedly. You're right. Allegedly,
- 21:09you're a professional fighter. Maybe don't put
- 21:12your hands on people. Allegedly. That goddamn
- 21:17asterisk on everything. Allegedly. Anyway, enough
- 21:24of that fucking clown. Our fucking favorite lightweight,
- 21:29Abdullah Mason, will be facing Joe Cordina in
- 21:33Cleveland. On July 4th. What? Yep. I can't wait.
- 21:40How many more rounds? Like, Cordina's kind of...
- 21:44The wheels have fallen off for sure. But how
- 21:49many times do we think Mason is able to finish
- 21:52him before he does but doesn't listen to his
- 21:55corner? Like three times. Yeah, like... I was
- 21:59thinking twice. Three times, yeah. Two or three
- 22:03times where he just doesn't finish the guy. I
- 22:08mean, honestly, that's an easy win. So, I mean,
- 22:12I'm not mad at it because I also didn't want
- 22:14Dillard to get a couple easy wins under his record.
- 22:18Yeah. But, damn. You know, there's better easy
- 22:21wins. Cordina did climb his way up the WBO ladder
- 22:26for whatever that's worth. That is fair. You
- 22:31know what? You're right. That is fair. You're
- 22:33right. Same as IBF. Like, you climb your way
- 22:37up the ladder, you play the game, you dance the
- 22:39dance that WBO tells you to dance. And Cordina,
- 22:45here he is. He's only lost one fight, right?
- 22:48He only lost to... No, he lost to Gakachi, and
- 22:51then I think the wheels came off. It couldn't
- 22:59just be Gakachi. Yeah, I think it was just Kakashi.
- 23:02You know what? I'm not mad at that. Yeah, it
- 23:03was just Kakashi. It's not horrible. Yeah, he
- 23:05looked like shit against Edward Vasquez and Rakimov.
- 23:09And then Kakashi kind of beat the sakes off him.
- 23:12It was Rakimov. I thought he lost. Yeah, Rakimov.
- 23:17It was that knockdown that just did not kind
- 23:23of swung it. And he had that one against Jaret
- 23:28Gonzalez. Which was, like, ugh. Yes, you might
- 23:34have swept it, quote -unquote swept it on the
- 23:37cards, but, like, are you, like, really? Are
- 23:40we sure about this? He got old pretty overnight.
- 23:43Yeah, he did. And I don't think it helps that
- 23:46his hands have been, like, dog shit for several
- 23:49years. Because, uh, I remember he's had a lot
- 23:54of hand issues in his career, like when he, uh,
- 23:56killed Ogawa. Like, he broke his hand, too, if
- 24:01I can recall correctly. Yeah, it was... He took
- 24:05some time off of that one. Yeah. After... It
- 24:11was a fucking brilliant knockout, but... Yeah,
- 24:14but that's... Yeah. Man, the Retirement League
- 24:21continues to... Well, this one isn't for BKB,
- 24:26but still, the retirement... League continues.
- 24:31Yuriorkis Gamboa and Guillermo Rigondeaux are
- 24:34going to be headlining a show together, co -headlining
- 24:38a show together in May. I thought Gamboa recently
- 24:44signed a bare -knuckle deal, so I thought that
- 24:50that's what this was going to be. That's interesting.
- 24:53But instead, it's a professional boxing event.
- 24:57Gamboa and Rigendale. Fucking like a combined
- 25:015 ,000 gold medals or whatever. I don't think
- 25:09Gamboa was that much of an amateur. I think he
- 25:11had one. And Rigendale had two. Man. Yeah, 2004.
- 25:21I think Rigo was a... 2004 and 2008. Not that
- 25:28it really matters. These dudes are both in their
- 25:32mid -40s at this point. And yeah, like you said,
- 25:36we're still talking about them. If they were
- 25:40going to BKB like fucking fine, you know, go
- 25:44ahead and merc some washouts from MMA and Lay
- 25:54him out, whatever, like Austin Trout does. But,
- 25:57yeah. We're doing this still. Well, Deontay Wilder's
- 26:10ex -fiance's son is suing over alleged abuses.
- 26:17The timing of this, we'll talk about the actual
- 26:21fight. Next time. But. The timing of this. Does.
- 26:28Seem suspicious. My initial instinct is. Believe
- 26:35victims. If this dude is coming forward. With.
- 26:41Some shit. Let's. Let's believe him. Let's let
- 26:46the. Let's let the investigation play out. And.
- 26:52whatever comes up at the end, we'll take it at
- 26:56that. But I don't know. The timing is a little
- 26:59suspect. His evidence is a little suspect. I
- 27:06don't know. What do you guys think? I think more
- 27:10just needs to come out. Deontay Wilder's personal
- 27:12life has been pretty messy for a while now. Yeah,
- 27:16like come on his baby mama's stomach. No, I mean,
- 27:20there was the whole saga with his brother. Cucking
- 27:23his brother? Yeah, cucking his brother. I was
- 27:26trying to put it in nicer words, but yeah. Did
- 27:30we ever talk about the cum? No. I had no desire
- 27:35to talk about it. Yeah, I was going to say, I
- 27:38really don't want to. I want to talk about how
- 27:41nasty it was to say that on live television in
- 27:43front of millions of people. Was it? I thought
- 27:46it was just an online thing. No, it's Piers Morgan.
- 27:50Jesus Christ. On Piers Morgan? Yeah. This is
- 27:55super public. Goodness gracious. I didn't know
- 28:01it was that. I thought it was just something
- 28:04we could tuck away as a weirdo podcast thing.
- 28:10No. That would be normal. This is what makes
- 28:16it weird. Yeah, I think all we can really do
- 28:21right now is wait for more information to come
- 28:24out. And yeah, we'll see. As I said at the beginning,
- 28:33my instinct is believe victims. So we'll see.
- 28:40Glory at Giza. The undercard has been announced.
- 28:45Are you fucking ready? For the glory that is
- 28:51Giza. Here we go. Hamza Shiraz versus Alan Begich.
- 28:59The WBO vacant super middleweight title is on
- 29:04the line. Jack Catterall versus Shakram Giyasov.
- 29:09The WBA regular welterweight title is on the
- 29:14line here. Frank Sanchez vs. Richard Torres.
- 29:18This is a heavyweight fight. Mizuki Hiruta vs.
- 29:23Mai Soliman. The WBA super flyweight title is
- 29:27on the line. Bassem Mamdou vs. Jamar Taleb. It's
- 29:33a cruiserweight fight. Mahmoud Mubarak vs. Michael
- 29:38Calaglia. And Omar Hikal vs. Ali. Serun Kuma.
- 29:47Stacked. Just stacked as fuck. Holy shit. Oh
- 29:51my god. You know what? At least Frank Sanchez
- 29:54and Richard Torres is on this card. Two. So at
- 29:59least there's one that I'm like, okay, this is
- 30:02going to be pretty interesting. It's going to
- 30:05be an actual fight. Should be. I think the Jack
- 30:09Caterall. Jackron Cateranus. Philly Cat? See,
- 30:16but like the way the rebuilding cat around here,
- 30:18I feel like Giasov is a... Good challenge. ...somewhat
- 30:22seen as a guaranteed. You think he's a cert?
- 30:27Might be. Honestly, as much as I want to root
- 30:32for Giasov, I think that the Philly Cat is the
- 30:37means. I don't think Giasov is... This is basically
- 30:43sink or swim for Giasov. Do you really deserve
- 30:48a shot at our lord and savior, Rolando? Rolando,
- 30:54we'll see. But yeah, that's the card. What I
- 31:01was talking about with Shanada was Mizuki's attire
- 31:09is going to be fucking amazing. Oh, yeah. Like
- 31:13this being at the pyramids, the whole situation.
- 31:17The outfit's going to go crazy. She's going to
- 31:19be awesome. She's going to look awesome, I'll
- 31:21say. I'm surprised they're doing a woman's card
- 31:24and, you know, a woman's fight. Yeah. Yeah. Considering
- 31:30where it's at and, you know, the. I mean, I know
- 31:35they did that. They did a Sky Nicholson one over
- 31:37there. Yes. In Saudi. Which was more surprising
- 31:42than Egypt, to be honest. I'm still surprised
- 31:48there's still platforming women, though. Gotta
- 31:50respect it, though. We love Mimi. This is a Mimi
- 31:55household. We do stan Mimi, but... We stan Mimi,
- 31:58but stay away from Gabby Fundera. I was gonna
- 32:01say, but we still know... For your own health
- 32:02and safety. We still know Gabby fucking beats
- 32:05that ass. We already know. Yeah. Still. Mimi's
- 32:11cute. She's fun. She's a fucking decent fighter,
- 32:14so it's all good. With no hate in my heart, I
- 32:19say. None whatsoever. But anything more for the
- 32:24news before we keep it rolling? It's about good.
- 32:27Let's keep going. All right. Well, I mean, this
- 32:35was supposed to be Diego Pacheco. But, quack,
- 32:41quack, he decided to do other things, which we
- 32:45still don't know what he's going to do. All right.

- 37:44things first. Queensberry at the Co -op Live
- 37:48Arena in Manchester. Man, for a brick card, this
- 37:53fucking delivered. I was glad to be up at like
- 37:579 in the morning to catch all of these. Good
- 38:01stuff. Let's go from the bottom up here. Nelson
- 38:07Burchall stops Ryan Griffiths in the 9th. Josh
- 38:11Holmes with a quick stoppage in the 1st over
- 38:14Alex Murphy. Michael Gomez, my personal pick.
- 38:20Stops Jordan Flynn in the third. Jerome Warburton
- 38:24got the UD over Nathan Heaney. Talking about
- 38:30this one with Shanada, Nathan Heaney looked like
- 38:34an 1800s jungle explorer. Interesting. Just in
- 38:41boxing clothing. So it was fun. Brad Pauls stops
- 38:47Shaquille Thompson in the ninth. Liam Davis retires
- 38:51Zach Miller after the sixth. And Willie Hutchinson,
- 38:56UD over Ezra Taylor. All around, great card.
- 39:00A lot of entertainment here. If you haven't seen
- 39:06the whole thing, it's worth taking a shot. In
- 39:11the main event, Moses Itauma hits that hard...
- 39:18Windows sound effect power down of Jermaine Franklin.
- 39:25Like, how just... We knew Moses Atama. Like,
- 39:30we knew he was the truth. But, like, just how
- 39:33much truthier is he getting here? This was...
- 39:37Damn, this is a very good heavyweight prospect.
- 39:40Or contender at this point. Contender, that's
- 39:44right. Very special prospect because it's not
- 39:47just like you're skilled for heavyweight or you're
- 39:52fast for heavyweight. This is a very solid, special,
- 39:58athletic kind of contender, which is something
- 40:00that you kind of don't see these athletic talents
- 40:04at heavyweight. So, very welcome. I got to agree.
- 40:08You know what? He passed a couple tests that
- 40:10night. One thing I was noticing was... Obviously
- 40:16he has power, and obviously he has skill. But
- 40:20one thing I noticed about him that I realize
- 40:22is going to be fantastic is his defense going
- 40:27on in the future. He has terrific ability to
- 40:32dodge a punch. To me, at least in this fight,
- 40:37it seemed fantastic. To make Jermaine Franklin
- 40:41miss by an inch, half an inch. Yeah, exactly.
- 40:46He's very twitchy. He's a very twitchy fighter.
- 40:51And it's very impressive to see, especially from
- 40:55a heavyweight. And, again, I was surprised he
- 40:59even got the knockout. I mean, I believe we were
- 41:00saying in here that it might go the distance
- 41:02because it is Jermaine Franklin. Yeah. I thought
- 41:05it was going to go later, much later. Yeah, even
- 41:08later, yeah. But, man, that was nuts. And the
- 41:12way you got him out, too, is, again, you don't
- 41:14even see that. Not even in the lighter weight
- 41:17classes where they have that killer instinct
- 41:19where you have someone hurt and they just immediately
- 41:21knock him out. Like that. Fantastic knockout
- 41:26from Moses Attell. Great, great fighter that
- 41:29we will be watching and keeping a close eye on.
- 41:32Obviously, we've been already doing it, but we're
- 41:34going to keep watching him. He's a must -watch
- 41:37TV now. Yeah, 100%. Yeah, he's must -watch TV,
- 41:41honestly. Honestly, I haven't been this hyped
- 41:43for a prospect -turned -contender in a while.
- 41:47You know? I wonder. We have, like, the current
- 41:54crop. I know some of these guys that I'm about
- 41:56to name are a bit older. But we have, like, Fabio
- 42:00Wardley. We have Daniel Dubois, who has already
- 42:03competed with the outgoing generation. We have
- 42:08Agit Kabayel, who's older, still has been waiting
- 42:15for his shot. But to me, that is the current
- 42:19crop of modern heavyweights. Does Atama fit into
- 42:24that? Because those guys are not long for the...
- 42:32current crop you know what i mean like uh is
- 42:36itama gonna fit into that or is he like the follow
- 42:40-on that's what i'm wondering about where it's
- 42:43where where's itama is he like an in -betweener
- 42:46he's in no he's a new era i think he's he's definitely
- 42:49part of well like there isn't much of a new era
- 42:52like he's technically part of this era and will
- 42:54just carry to the next era because he's in a
- 42:56young in this era old in the next you know Yeah,
- 43:00that makes sense. Well, I feel like it's going
- 43:01to be the same with any fighter. I mean, let
- 43:05me give you an example. When Mike Tyson fought
- 43:07Larry Holmes, same thing. But it was no longer
- 43:09Holmes' era. Holmes had, like, been... Was still
- 43:13dominant at that point, right? We were in transition.
- 43:16Like, Michael Spinks had already taken his titles
- 43:18off and everything. Well, this is a transition
- 43:20era, too. I mean, Usyk is... Like, Usyk is out
- 43:22yet, though. Well, yeah, but the thing is, Usyk
- 43:25is... It's going to be out soon. Don't we consider
- 43:27him to be already out the door? That would be
- 43:28the next era, though. This is just the end of
- 43:30this era. Well, you already see that a couple
- 43:33guys are in the next era, though. Yeah, but it
- 43:36isn't the next era yet. You'll see it. Well,
- 43:39no, not yet, but that's why I said he's part
- 43:41of the next era. Yeah. I mean, Moses Atalma,
- 43:47you got Rocket, you got Richard Torres. Do we
- 43:52have Rocket, though? Yeah, he's a young guy.
- 43:57We have Big Gug. That's who we have. Yeah, Big
- 44:00Gug. Here we got Big Gug. How could I have forgotten?
- 44:04My parents had Adam Kowanacki. We have Big Gug.
- 44:13And I know you guys don't want to hear it, but
- 44:15we also have Jalalov, too. I mean, Jalalov's
- 44:17another... Al Jalalov's got to fight, bro. He
- 44:21needs to do stuff, dude. I'm not even a hater
- 44:24of Jalalov. He's very clearly better than Torres.
- 44:26He just has to do stuff. Yeah, like, it's not...
- 44:30It's not a matter of skill. It's a matter of,
- 44:34like, activity. That's the next crop of heavyweights
- 44:40that are coming up. Soon you'll have some of
- 44:42the next guys coming up from the Olympics, you
- 44:44know, like Joseph Abayonge. I don't know how
- 44:47to pronounce the last name, but that's Joseph.
- 44:50Joey, man. Yeah, that's something we haven't
- 44:54hard lunched it, but it's something that we're
- 44:58going to start doing is paying attention to the
- 44:59Team USA, Team Canada. Unfortunately, Team Mexico
- 45:06doesn't do a whole lot. They turn pro at 15.
- 45:10Right. They don't have an amateur system. It's
- 45:13just turn pro as soon as you're able. Turn pro
- 45:19or you either win or you lose or you lose and
- 45:23then you win in the UK. Just dominate Brits.
- 45:30The Aztec invasion continues. One thing I do
- 45:36got to add is like, The guys that are in between
- 45:39eras, and this is in my defense, the guys that
- 45:41are in between eras are guys like Fabio Wardley,
- 45:43Danny Dubois. Not guys that are young, but guys
- 45:47that are part of the old guard. You know, like
- 45:51Fury, Joshua Wilder. Well, that's just part of
- 45:53an era. That's part of an era always, though.
- 45:59Fabio Wardley, Daniel Dubois, Agit Kabayel, to
- 46:02me, is distinct from the Usyk. wilder aj fury
- 46:08time frame yeah i agree but but they're gonna
- 46:14be like part of both eras they're gonna be the
- 46:15old men and the young and the new era and then
- 46:18the young guys in this current era or the outgoing
- 46:21era so it's gonna be the young guy coming into
- 46:25the current crop Exactly. At least in my opinion.
- 46:31That's how I see it. I know you guys might think
- 46:33a little differently. No, I think you're right.
- 46:35I was trying to determine if he's like... Where
- 46:40do we draw the line? I thought he was like...
- 46:43He straddles both. But I think you're right.
- 46:47It's like how Chizora is technically two eras.
- 46:52Chizora is eternal. Well... That's next week.
- 46:57We'll talk about that. We'll talk about that
- 46:58next week. But, yeah, Chizora, what a cat. I
- 47:04hope I never die. Let's roll on ProBox TV at
- 47:12Thunder Studios. This was another fantastic card
- 47:18from ProBox. We had Flavio Burgeno. He stops
- 47:26Josias Gonzalez. Cooper O 'Connell stops Jorge
- 47:32Garcia in the third. Albert Alvarez. UD over
- 47:37Eric Ruiz. KJ Wiley. UD over Monre Marable. Marable.
- 47:46God, learn how to say names, dude. KJ impressed.
- 47:52Like, to me, he was like the... Performance of
- 47:55the night. It was really impressive. Notwithstanding
- 48:01the co -main. Leo Rubalcava. UD over Juan. Yanez.
- 48:08Rene Taez. He retires. Malik Montgomery. I know.
- 48:15This was a really good. Fucking fight. Just really
- 48:20fantastic performance. From Rene. I just thought.
- 48:24Because he's a co -main event, I wanted to give
- 48:26KJ my accolade. And Brian Acosta, UD over Ronnie
- 48:34Rios. Fucking excellent from Acosta. He had a
- 48:42mature performance against a really solid veteran.
- 48:52And it was interesting to see the different types
- 48:56of looks that Ronnie tried to give Acosta. And
- 49:01he was adaptable. It was great. It was what you
- 49:08want to see from a young man coming up. He has
- 49:11a couple of losses. He gave you what you want
- 49:16to see from a guy coming up. So I was impressed.
- 49:24PBC on prime at the MGM Grand Arena. Moving up
- 49:31the bill. Aldo Blancas stops Jamal Johnson in
- 49:36two. Robert Guerrero, UD over Rigoberto Rivera.
- 49:40My man, Brian Gonzalez, fighting out of Phoenix,
- 49:44stops Brandon Medina in five. Caipo Gallegos,
- 49:48UD over Julian Gonzalez. Christian Cangalosi
- 49:54got a draw with Miguel Hernandez. Unfortunately,
- 50:01my fellow finiquero here, Elijah Garcia, drops
- 50:06the fucking ball looking like absolute dog shit
- 50:10against Kevin Newman. Loses the majority of the
- 50:14decision. That was an extremely generous decision.
- 50:20towards elijah he looked like goddamn garbage
- 50:24he looked horrible oh my god it was embarrassing
- 50:28like i was saying to shanada like please take
- 50:33the 602 off your trunks please you like you're
- 50:37making me sad with that shit um big good that's
- 50:43his record yeah Big Gug gets the stoppage in
- 50:48five over former welterweight Cesar Navarro.
- 50:56Cesar, like... Former welterweight kills me every
- 51:00time. A for effort, but, like, Jesus Christ.
- 51:04Like, the size disparity was... Technically,
- 51:07Chris Bird is a former middleweight. Yeah. Former
- 51:11heavyweight champion Chris Bird. Former super
- 51:14welterweight Roy Jones? Yeah. But no, it was
- 51:22not to be against the young goat, Big Gug. I'm
- 51:27trying to remember who was saying it in chat.
- 51:29I think it was you, Josh, that when you're watching
- 51:33Big Gug, you're not watching greatness. You're
- 51:38watching a big old boy just... Whoop up on somebody.
- 51:43It's great. You need it. It's a very necessary...
- 51:47Your vice. That's right. It's your vice. You
- 51:51appreciate it because it's very easily the least
- 51:56skillful of the sport, but you get to see the
- 51:59intangibles with big guys whooping ass so often
- 52:02that make you appreciate the rest of the sport,
- 52:06too. That itself is greatness. No, it isn't.
- 52:11None of the slightest. I was about to say, this
- 52:14is why people who objectively suck like Dave
- 52:17Allen are still fun to watch because you know
- 52:21they're always going to be fun, at least. Well,
- 52:25it's fun to watch them try. It's just fun to
- 52:28watch some big dudes not care about defense and
- 52:30whoop ass. Yeah, this is the vice watching big
- 52:34boys bumping beef. Oh, yeah. Got it done, so,
- 52:40like, what more do you want? Speaking of getting
- 52:45it done, Yoenly Hernandez stops Terrell Gachet
- 52:49in four. I was telling Shanada, I think Terrell
- 52:53is wearing out his welcome as a gatekeeper. Yeah,
- 52:58he's... The gate is getting flimsier. Yeah, exactly.
- 53:03I'm not saying Yoenly Hernandez didn't look great,
- 53:06but it, like... It wasn't like a young prospect
- 53:09beating a veteran. This was just... This isn't
- 53:12Brian Acosta beating Ronnie Rios. This is a dude
- 53:16that has been guarding the gate for a little
- 53:19bit too long. It might be time to consider...
- 53:22That's a good way to put it, yeah. From an accidental
- 53:37headbutt, he beats what is still a serviceable
- 53:42gatekeeper in Brian Mendoza. I was telling Shanada
- 53:48that I think Tejas makes... We didn't mention
- 53:54it, but we'll talk about it next time. Sebastian
- 53:58Fundura is looking at a unification fight with
- 54:02Josh Kelly. If that fight doesn't get made, Fundora
- 54:08versus Teyes, not bad. Obviously, I prefer the
- 54:13unification fight, but if I had to take something
- 54:17else, Teyes winning the co -main event, not a
- 54:22bad alternative. I don't know. What do you guys
- 54:26think? Well, I got to save my rant for when we
- 54:32talk about Fundora. Yeah. I think we'll save
- 54:35it. I think we'll save these discussions for
- 54:37when, uh, Fandora comes up. No, we're, we're
- 54:40talking about Fandora right now. Yeah. Fandora
- 54:43versus Thurman. Um, he stops Thurman in six.
- 54:47All right. Fuck. Sorry. Days of the week. Yeah,
- 54:49it's fine. Thurman was upset with the stoppage.
- 54:53I like, I want to give all my respect to Keith
- 54:56Thurman. You said they saved his ass. Yeah. You
- 55:00stepped in with a fucking freak of nature. And
- 55:04he just beat the piss out of you. I'm not sure
- 55:07how else to phrase it. His face was falling off.
- 55:10Do you see the bit of his cheek that was just
- 55:12starting to peel at the time of the stoppage?
- 55:15He got fucking whooped. Slenderman whooped ass.
- 55:19Yeah, Slenderman whooped ass. You're going to
- 55:22need all eight notes if you're going to beat
- 55:24Slenderman. It's just how it is. One thing about
- 55:28this fight, I got a couple things to say about
- 55:30it. I want to stop. I want to preface this with
- 55:33I have a bad habit, and I realize this, that
- 55:37every time a fight gets close, I have the habit
- 55:42of manipulating my own mind into believing that
- 55:47the fight is actually competitive. I can't believe
- 55:51I gave Keith Thurman a chance. I know I didn't
- 55:55give him a huge chance. I gave him like a 5 %
- 55:57chance. But, I mean, what the fuck was that fight?
- 56:01What was that? All it was was Keith Thurman on
- 56:04the back foot. I mean, he had a horrible game
- 56:07plan. I mean, I understand why he did it, but
- 56:11he was trying to get a pot shot, trying to get
- 56:13one shot to knock out Sebastian Fandora, but
- 56:17Keith Thurman hasn't gotten a knockout in years.
- 56:20Even before his two layoffs, he hadn't gotten
- 56:26many knockouts. One thing I have to say about
- 56:31this fight, too, is, man, dude, Sebastian Fandori,
- 56:35he looked good. He looked good. But he's also
- 56:41becoming a formidable force in the division.
- 56:46And that's kind of, I know this might sound like
- 56:50weird to say, but that's also not becoming good.
- 56:54Because, and this is where my rant really starts,
- 56:57is that he's not going to be let out the bag.
- 57:00They're not going to let him out the house. They're
- 57:03not going to let him fight other champions because
- 57:06they said, what they say after the post fight,
- 57:09that he can unify, but he's not going to keep
- 57:13that title. He can't fight Virgil yet because
- 57:17Virgil's caught up with his, and again, that
- 57:19makes sense, but he's not going to fight Virgil.
- 57:22He's not going to want to hold any of the titles,
- 57:26become, you know, undisputed. To have multiple
- 57:30mandatorys? So he'll win it and drop it kind
- 57:34of thing? Yeah, and it's bullshit because you
- 57:37know what? They want him to fight Spence or Charlo.
- 57:40Now, I understand maybe Charlo, he was never
- 57:43really defeated at 154. But man, Charlo hasn't
- 57:47fought in years. Yeah, I mean, Charlo hasn't
- 57:51fought in years. Spence hasn't fought at 154
- 57:54and hasn't fought in years. charlo i guess makes
- 57:58a little more sense than spence but man what
- 58:00the fuck you want you want fundora to fight these
- 58:04two guys who do not deserve it at all he already
- 58:07has fought guys that doesn't deserve it and it's
- 58:11honestly funny how the wbc is not doing anything
- 58:15about his you know about him fighting a mandatory
- 58:18for the for the for the title i mean what what
- 58:22kind of what kind of hold does fundora have over
- 58:24the wbc I guarantee this didn't make that much
- 58:28money. I don't know if pay -per -view buys have
- 58:30been released. I don't think the gate was that
- 58:33big. The stadium looked a little bare compared
- 58:38to other fights I've seen, but man. We'll never
- 58:41know about the pay -per -view buys because Rick
- 58:44Glaser is off of Twitter. Damn, dog. What are
- 58:48we going to do? Uh -huh. What I got to say is
- 58:54that this fight was, it was horrendous. It should
- 58:58have never been made. And they're going to keep
- 59:00making fights like this in the future and have
- 59:02you pay an arm and a leg. Yeah. I got to say,
- 59:06I'm sorry, but man, you got to make that pay
- 59:09-per -view worth it. Difficult to buy it. Difficult
- 59:11to disagree. You know, and again, you could,
- 59:15the people that are on other podcasts or listen
- 59:18to this and disagree with. me not being a show
- 59:21for the pbc even though it's not popular to be
- 59:25sucking off the pbc you know anymore but either
- 59:30way i i think i think it's just that they're
- 59:33gonna keep doing this it's not i'm not gonna
- 59:36try to compare to zufa in the sense that like
- 59:38you know they're on the same level but man this
- 59:41is that gives zufa power it's second tier is
- 59:45what it is I fucking hate Zufa, but I also hate
- 59:49this shit too. So, fuck you. There's an in -between
- 59:55that exists. It's not team sports. Yeah, I agree.
- 1:00:04Yeah, we shouldn't have to make... I don't know.
- 1:00:08Fundora should be able to travel to make the
- 1:00:12fights. He shouldn't be stuck in one spot. putting
- 1:00:18on this bullshit for PBC to have an event. Yeah.
- 1:00:25I mean, I understand why PBC is holding him hostage,
- 1:00:28too. I mean, why would they want to get rid of
- 1:00:29a champion? You know? I mean, I do... The more
- 1:00:33that Fenora fights, the more I see him having
- 1:00:36a chance against other guys. But at the same
- 1:00:39time, you're going to keep him... You're going
- 1:00:41to hold him hostage, and he's not going to be
- 1:00:44making that much money off of... I mean, yeah,
- 1:00:47he's going to be making money, but he's not going
- 1:00:48to be making as much money as if he beat a Boots
- 1:00:51or if he beat a Virgil or if he beat a Zayas.
- 1:00:53Or Josh Kelly. Yeah. Yeah, Josh Kelly. If he
- 1:00:56beat any of the top guys, he would make money.
- 1:00:59He would be more of a draw. Defeating Spence
- 1:01:03and defeating Charlo is just, you know, you're
- 1:01:05going to freaking get used to beating these guys
- 1:01:10that aren't on your level to the point where,
- 1:01:12you know, you're... What did Marvin Hagler say?
- 1:01:17He said that when you wake up in silk pajamas,
- 1:01:20it's hard to go running in silk pajamas, right?
- 1:01:23When you wake up at like 4 a .m. with silk pajamas,
- 1:01:26who wants to get up and go running? Exactly.
- 1:01:31He's going to get too used to beating guys that
- 1:01:33are obviously going to be beneath him. Are you
- 1:01:36calling Sebastian Fundora a welfare queen? He
- 1:01:40might be a fucking welfare queen. I'm serious.
- 1:01:45It seriously, it bums me out how guys at the
- 1:01:49PBC, not the guys at the PBC, the fighters, but
- 1:01:51more so their management and the promotional
- 1:01:55company are keeping them hostage like this. I
- 1:01:59mean, even top rank right now is letting them
- 1:02:02out of the stable. I get they have to, but I
- 1:02:05mean, come on. You guys are going to get used
- 1:02:07to fighting these bums. I mean, I understand
- 1:02:08if you're going to let them keep fighting bums.
- 1:02:11They just signed a deal. So they're... And they
- 1:02:15signed that. I don't know. I'm just offending
- 1:02:18Top Rank in this particular example, which I
- 1:02:21don't think is your overall point. So never mind.
- 1:02:24We'll talk about it a bit later. I do agree to
- 1:02:29the sense that Top Rank has made a deal and they're
- 1:02:32letting their guys out. I don't get why PBC can't
- 1:02:37just let Fundora fight someone on his own level.
- 1:02:44It's almost like they don't believe in him. Which
- 1:02:47they should. Because, like, he's a... With his
- 1:02:51physical advantages, he has, I would say, like,
- 1:02:56other than... And it's... It's a small... It's
- 1:03:04a smaller advantage with someone like Jaron Ennis.
- 1:03:07And it gets a little bit... little bit bigger
- 1:03:11with like Virgil Ortiz but with like Josh Kelly
- 1:03:14like or Xander Zayas like Fedora like beats the
- 1:03:19fucking piss out of both of them to me I don't
- 1:03:23see why they don't why would you not want to
- 1:03:26send him out to conquer I don't get it it's ridiculous
- 1:03:31honestly Josh you want to put anything on here
- 1:03:33before we move on mainly I think it's in the
- 1:03:36management more than the promoter they don't
- 1:03:38They probably don't believe in their guy after,
- 1:03:41like, as much as we might. And are probably handling
- 1:03:46him a little carefully after the Brian Mendoza
- 1:03:49slip -up. Ah, shit, you're right. Like, especially,
- 1:03:53like, for his management, this is, like, you're
- 1:03:56one of their cash cows. They're gonna handle
- 1:03:59you with, uh, rather carefully after a, like...
- 1:04:04Yeah, like, after a knockout loss like that,
- 1:04:06where, like, it was just straight up being careless,
- 1:04:08you're more fragile than, like, a guy you know
- 1:04:12what his, like, preferred style matchups are.
- 1:04:15So, what, the Spence matchup is... We're assuming
- 1:04:20PBC wants Spence to win so that they can make
- 1:04:27Fundora Spence. Is that the logical... their
- 1:04:32logic yeah logical time yeah like i feel like
- 1:04:35management like it's just like it's the easy
- 1:04:39high money option to get fundora from the promoter's
- 1:04:43end out the fight and from the manager's end
- 1:04:46to take it because yeah he is basically like
- 1:04:50other than like david benavidez he is one of
- 1:04:54samson's cash cows yeah that's right that's all
- 1:04:59that samson really has Yeah, like, it's him and
- 1:05:03David Benavidez, so... You don't want him losing
- 1:05:06the belt he has, and the thing is that if you
- 1:05:08let a belt go, it'll probably go to, like, Boots
- 1:05:12or Loth to say it, Virgil. For the memes. Yeah,
- 1:05:18like, as soon as Virgil gets out of court, he's,
- 1:05:20like, if a belt goes free, it's probably gonna
- 1:05:24go to one of those two. And then you basically
- 1:05:28never get it back if you have a, like... If you
- 1:05:32basically go through 154 and cross the pond and
- 1:05:37everything. Or across the street. Yeah. Well,
- 1:05:41let's roll on. We've got a bit of previews coming
- 1:05:46up. So, a little bit of notes here. The social
- 1:05:50media handle, LVX Media Net, we're on fucking
- 1:05:53Mastodon now. Did you know that Mastodon was
- 1:05:57still a thing? I didn't until my... Social media
- 1:06:02tool told me that I should make an account there.
- 1:06:06So that's fun. Wherever you're listening, if
- 1:06:09you could hit us with a rating, it really helps
- 1:06:11us move up the accursed search algorithm. And
- 1:06:16if you're feeling a little extra, a review would
- 1:06:19not go amiss. If you would like what I would
- 1:06:22call a super fucking dope boxing calendar, ldxmedia
- 1:06:27.net slash boxing. While you're there. Check
- 1:06:31out the articles. We've got written content coming
- 1:06:34up. Josh, I know you're a little busy, but just
- 1:06:37what are some ideas that are floating around?
- 1:06:41Definitely just going to... I have some stuff
- 1:06:44I'm working on for this week. Now that stuff
- 1:06:47is starting to slow down a bit. Excellent. I'm
- 1:06:51probably going to write some things looking at
- 1:06:53the state of certain divisions and where it could
- 1:06:55go for the speculation there. Well, there you
- 1:06:59have it. That's some stuff that's coming up.
- 1:07:03I'm going to keep it a buck with you. After spending
- 1:07:05six years in the military and throughout my life
- 1:07:08since, I've tried my fair share of energy drinks.
- 1:07:11All the different brands, all the different flavors.
- 1:07:13And it took some time to find a favorite. But
- 1:07:16if you're looking for an alternative to the energy
- 1:07:18drink jitters and skipping the morning trip to
- 1:07:20the coffee shop, then you need to try Dubby.

- 1:07:46I got Tiger's Blood. It's like a strawberry -coconut

- 1:09:46those simple pleasures to the hardest workers
- 1:09:48on the planet, honeybees. But right now, bees
- 1:09:51are facing unprecedented challenges from habitat
- 1:09:53loss and climate change, and they need our help
- 1:09:56to keep working. That's why we partnered with
- 1:10:00Project Honeybees. They aren't just a conservation

- 1:10:27though, every single purchase directly funds
- 1:10:30the placement of new hives, rescue of bees that
- 1:10:34are hived in precarious spots, and the protection
- 1:10:37of local pollinators. When you wear Project Honeybees,
- 1:10:41you're telling the world that you stand for nature's

- 1:11:01That's lvx .be slash bees. Be the change. Into
- 1:11:10the previews. Holy shit, the coronation is coming
- 1:11:17up on Thursday, April 9th. Eye of the Tiger in
- 1:11:23Montreal, Quebec, Canada. Just really quickly
- 1:11:28in the co -main event, Arthur B. Arslanoff is
- 1:11:32fighting Who Gives a Shit. It's an Eye of the
- 1:11:35Tiger card, so it's just somebody that he's just
- 1:11:37going to knock the fuck out. That's pretty much
- 1:11:39the whole point of Eye of the Tiger. But in the
- 1:11:44main event, Oslis Iglesias be fighting Pavel
- 1:11:49Silyagin. Oslis is claiming what is rightfully
- 1:11:55his, the IBF super middleweight title. After
- 1:11:59literally nobody wanted to fight him for this
- 1:12:02title, they found someone. Multiple people passed
- 1:12:04on this fight. Finally. Pavel, like, salute.
- 1:12:13Somebody had the fucking nuts to take it. Yeah,
- 1:12:18someone had to take one for the team here. Prayers
- 1:12:23up for Pavel. Hopefully you don't seize up on
- 1:12:27the canvas. Jesus. Imagine Hosties actually loses.
- 1:12:33That'd be the funniest crash out we've ever seen
- 1:12:36on the Discord chat, though. If you lost? Yeah.
- 1:12:39I would lose my fucking mind. I fully admit.
- 1:12:43I would crash out. It'd be a hilarious crash
- 1:12:45out. It would be. Watching Hosties lose on a
- 1:12:51Thursday? Don't speak it in the being. Speak
- 1:12:54it, believe it, receive it. Pavel in a seizure
- 1:12:58on the fucking canvas. That's what I'm putting
- 1:13:01into the energy. Friday, April 10th, we have
- 1:13:08Probox. Oh shit, this fight got fucking kanked.
- 1:13:13Headlining this one is Herbert Conceição. Herbert
- 1:13:18versus Johan Gonzalez. Moving down the bill,
- 1:13:26William Foster. He is a Pro Box alum. So that's
- 1:13:30fun. He's fighting a dude named Joshafat. So
- 1:13:37that's fun. Interesting. But that's about all
- 1:13:42I got for this one. Senbatar Erdenbat was supposed
- 1:13:46to be on this, but apparently not anymore. Haven't
- 1:13:51heard why. Moving on. Saturday, April 11th, Shinada
- 1:13:58will be in attendance. Tenshin Nasukawa versus
- 1:14:02Juan Francisco Estrada. Damn. Shinada's at this
- 1:14:09one, yeah. Hate watching Tenshin. Yeah. We believe
- 1:14:14that Estrada can turn back the clock. I do, too.
- 1:14:19I consider myself to be a bit of a tension fanboy.
- 1:14:23It is not an insignificant amount because it
- 1:14:31bothers Shanada, to be honest. But Estrada's
- 1:14:38been like my guy. Watching him get... It was
- 1:14:43like bittersweet watching Bam beat him. But,
- 1:14:49like, if Takuma Inoue can do it, Estrada, my
- 1:14:54man, you can do it too. Katsuma Akitsugi. Pro
- 1:15:01Box alumni will be in effect. And Tomoya Suboi,
- 1:15:08one of my breakout fighters of the year for 2025,
- 1:15:13is going to be fighting on this one as well.
- 1:15:19Excellent. So it's a good card. I would say this
- 1:15:23might be worth waking up for. Or staying up for.
- 1:15:28Yeah, Friday night. The ultra degenerates. I'm
- 1:15:36going to skip ahead. Pro box at the Boardwalk
- 1:15:40Hall in Atlantic City. I honestly don't know
- 1:15:43who a lot of these people are. Just in the main
- 1:15:46event, Vito Melnicki versus Omar Huerta. So that's...
- 1:15:53Vito has three... Of the major sanctioning bodies,
- 1:16:00he has three trinkets. And Omar is not rated
- 1:16:05in any of them. Yeah, so there's a lot to lose
- 1:16:09for Vito. And he's kind of mid. He's not great.
- 1:16:15He's very much like, you see him on the name
- 1:16:19of one of the permanent IBF mandatories type
- 1:16:24of guy. Yeah, yeah. Picks up the IBF trinket
- 1:16:28only to give it away, you know. But I'll join
- 1:16:32Saul. Go white boy. Go white boy go. Go white
- 1:16:36boy go. And the main fucking event of Saturday.
- 1:16:44we have uh i'm gonna go from the bottom up here
- 1:16:48uh gold star on netflix at the tottenham hotspur
- 1:16:53uh is it a state it's a stadium that's right
- 1:16:57it's a soccer stadium like that that place is
- 1:17:02pretty fucking dope like for fights it's pretty
- 1:17:05damn good that was just like a really minor humble
- 1:17:09flex that i've been there Just a little bit.
- 1:17:16From the bottom up, Sultan Al -Muhammad, he is
- 1:17:20a Saudi plant, so I'm hoping that Hector Lozano
- 1:17:25makes it happen. 3 -7 -1. Come on, dude. Your
- 1:17:34people are counting on you. Go, Brown Boy, go.
- 1:17:39Go, Brown Boy, go. Go on, my son. That dude that
- 1:17:48was behind me just would not stop screaming that.
- 1:17:51Go on, my son has been my favorite thing to say
- 1:17:54during fights. The British really have it right
- 1:17:58in terms of how they cheer on fighters. Go on,
- 1:18:02my son. Go on, my son. You aged 10 years saying
- 1:18:11it, but it's beautiful. Man, I already got enough
- 1:18:14white hair on my beard. I'm going to keep saying
- 1:18:18it anyway, because fucking go on, my son. Moving
- 1:18:22up the bill. Who do I recognize here? Felix Cash.
- 1:18:26I recognize the name Felix Cash. He's facing
- 1:18:33Liam O 'Hare. And Justice Hooney versus Frazier
- 1:18:36Clark. Question here is, I know, can Frazier
- 1:18:43Clark do it better than Fabio Wardley? I really
- 1:18:48want Justice Huni to upset the apple cart. Fuck
- 1:18:52Frazier Clark. Wardley's looked so bad since...
- 1:18:56Clark's looked really bad since Wardley just
- 1:19:00smoked him in the first round. Mentally broken.
- 1:19:05Like he just lost by a split decision to a guy
- 1:19:09named Jimmy TKV. Oh, that's right. And he's up
- 1:19:15the bill. Yeah. TKV also not great. Like. So
- 1:19:24it's a very like Hooney is definitely better
- 1:19:28than the British boxing ecosystem. I'm doing
- 1:19:32the Bob Arum, the little emote that we have in
- 1:19:35discord. Bobbed? Yeah. I'm doing that little
- 1:19:37fist. Yeah, so Huni, honestly, Huni's just going
- 1:19:42to feed off of the British ecosystem, which is
- 1:19:44good. Good for him. Somebody needs to contact
- 1:19:48Lin when Justice Huni wins and say, hey, what's
- 1:19:52up with Kevin Lorena? No way. No way. Moving
- 1:19:59up, Troy Williamson will be facing Simon, Zack,
- 1:20:02and Huber. Jamie... Chikeva, TKV, will be facing
- 1:20:09Richard Riekpore. Richard does have dynamite
- 1:20:14for hands, so should be okay. Should be a good
- 1:20:18power threat anyway. Connor Ben versus Regis
- 1:20:25Progre at a 150 catchweight. Hilarious. Hilarious.
- 1:20:30Go on, my son. Hilarious. Hilarious that it's
- 1:20:33Regis. Hilarious that it's so heavy. Hilarious
- 1:20:37that Conor Benn is getting paid more than the
- 1:20:39entire UFC roster combined. All I gotta say is
- 1:20:42I want my son. Please, please knock out Conor
- 1:20:45Benn. If there's anything, I will sell my soul
- 1:20:50for that. Regis got nothing left, but you know
- 1:20:53what? Yep, go on, my son. Just hilarious fight
- 1:20:56to be made. I need Zufa to lose all their fucking,
- 1:21:00like... I need them to lose their shit. After
- 1:21:04paying someone like Connor Ben that much money
- 1:21:06to lose to Regis Progray. I didn't even know
- 1:21:09Sean Malley could read. So the fact that he started
- 1:21:12talking about his own pay in reference to Connor
- 1:21:14Ben getting overpaid is like mind -blowing. He
- 1:21:17started counting the beans. I would sponsor a
- 1:21:22crawfish boil for Regis Progray and his entire
- 1:21:26fucking family, extended family. Bring all your
- 1:21:30friends. I don't give a shit how many people
- 1:21:33you bring. If you beat Connor Ben, I will make
- 1:21:39a fucking feast for your entire family. I don't
- 1:21:44know how to do a crawfish boil properly. I will
- 1:21:48watch all of the YouTube tutorials just to make
- 1:21:52this fucking work for you. That is the feast
- 1:21:55that awaits you, Regis. I'll have somebody drive
- 1:22:00you on an ATV so that you don't crash it. In
- 1:22:05the main event, Tyson Fury versus Arslanbek Makhmudov.
- 1:22:09This is pretty clearly a setup for Fury AJ later
- 1:22:14this year. So I don't rate Makhmudov. Tyson Fury
- 1:22:21even coming off a layoff should be pretty easy
- 1:22:24work. Can I say something? Of course you can.
- 1:22:28During this fight? I'm asking like I'm not part
- 1:22:31of the podcast. Yeah, you raised your hand up
- 1:22:34and everything. I said, hey, can I ask something?
- 1:22:38Let me say this, okay? Honestly, I was thinking
- 1:22:41about it. It might be my bad habit again, but
- 1:22:44what if Makhmudov just beats the shit out of
- 1:22:47Fury? Then Dave Allen is much better than we
- 1:22:52give him credit for, apparently. Well, the thing
- 1:22:56is, the reason I say that is because... I mean,
- 1:22:58again, this is Fury off of layoff. A layoff that's
- 1:23:00a year and a half. Fury's going to be older.
- 1:23:05He looks lean. This is a guy who's victimized
- 1:23:08by Guido Vianello, though. Yeah, you're right.
- 1:23:11I'm just raising the point of how washed is Fury.
- 1:23:14He could be really washed to the point where
- 1:23:15he might not even have his legs. That's fair.
- 1:23:18Although, arguably, Makhmudov might also be washed,
- 1:23:21considering he is 36. Yeah, you know, you're
- 1:23:25right. I will have you know that 36 is not that
- 1:23:28goddamn old. I'll fucking have you know. Okay,
- 1:23:33but like 36 to be like in boxing years. Yeah,
- 1:23:37I was gonna say. That's fucking ancient. I know.
- 1:23:40Yeah, this guy's not better beef, you know. The
- 1:23:44more times it goes on, the less aura he has.
- 1:23:48I'm just saying how washed is Fury, you know.
- 1:23:51He could be fucking... He struggled with Ngannou.
- 1:23:55Yeah, that's what I'm saying. He struggled with
- 1:23:56Ngannou. He struggled with Wilder. Yeah, but
- 1:23:59Ngannou's like a physical presence is the way
- 1:24:02I'll put it. That third fight with Wilder, he
- 1:24:05did struggle. Strong is something Makhmudov is
- 1:24:08distinctly not. Yeah, but I mean, look what AJ
- 1:24:12did to him. Look what Tyson Fury did to him.
- 1:24:17Fury kind of... I don't know, like, a lot of
- 1:24:20Fury's, like, clinch work and moving around guys
- 1:24:23in the clinch, like, you have to be strong or
- 1:24:27able to get out of it. I mean, to... To give
- 1:24:31him trouble. For his credit, I mean, Magmoodov's
- 1:24:34not a horrible inside fighter. No, but... When
- 1:24:37he presses, he gets aggressive. Like, he's very
- 1:24:40much the, like, Christian Hammer, when he fought
- 1:24:43Christian Hammer... Oh, shit. ...type of opponent.
- 1:24:46That's a good way to put it. He's not anywhere
- 1:24:50near that top level of opponent. He's very much
- 1:24:54like... Because there's like three tiers of Fury
- 1:24:58opponent. There's like dog shit. There's the
- 1:25:01showcase fights, especially on the come up where
- 1:25:03he'd show you that he's actually something worth
- 1:25:05looking at. And then the fights against the top
- 1:25:08guys. Well, you're missing the fourth level,
- 1:25:10which is just Chizora. Chizora's in all three
- 1:25:14levels. In all three different Chizora fights,
- 1:25:21he has been a part of all three levels. Yeah,
- 1:25:21like the first Chizora fight was Fury taking
- 1:25:24that step up to like a top 10 ranking. I guess
- 1:25:29right, yeah. The second one was one of the showcase
- 1:25:32opponents that like, the way he dominated him
- 1:25:35is like, oh, he's worth a damn to fight for a
- 1:25:37title. And then the third Chizora fight is a
- 1:25:40dogshit opponent that no one wanted to watch.
- 1:25:43It sucks. He's been, Chizora's been all three
- 1:25:46of this, of the typical Tyson Fury opponent.
- 1:25:52Well, I gotta say, uh, I, I gotta give Fury like
- 1:25:57a 75 % chance to win. The fact I'm giving you
- 1:25:5975 % chance is very, um, very, uh, gracious to
- 1:26:04Magmudov. I, it's just a question of Fury's,
- 1:26:07uh, Yeah, like how Washington Fury, you know?
- 1:26:09Exactly, yeah. Cause I haven't seen Fury in a,
- 1:26:11besides Usyk, I haven't fight, I haven't seen
- 1:26:13him fight a, a great like not a great but like
- 1:26:18someone of like i guess equal and i know it sounds
- 1:26:21weird because obviously he fought you know someone
- 1:26:24like wilder and he fought someone like uh in
- 1:26:27ghanu but again he already fought wilder in the
- 1:26:29past he hasn't fought like a new name in a while
- 1:26:32you know that was like same kind of build similar
- 1:26:36build you know like an actual heavyweight big
- 1:26:40heavyweight yeah you know so we'll see Yeah,
- 1:26:44I don't have a whole lot to add. I don't see
- 1:26:48this going really well for Makhmudov. I can only
- 1:26:50hope that his really sloped forehead protects
- 1:26:54his fucking eyes nicely. I don't know. That's
- 1:27:02all we got on the docket, though. Shall we get
- 1:27:05to parting words? We shall. ProBuck's good. Lots
- 1:27:11of ProBucks. Two cards this weekend. ProBucks,
- 1:27:15good. Watch it. Even if it's not guys that you
- 1:27:19super, super recognize, there's always a chance
- 1:27:21for absolute gangbusters, and it's just very
- 1:27:24consistently good. Man, Senbatar Erdenbot getting
- 1:27:28taken off the card is a real bummer. He is so
- 1:27:32much fun. Man, I love Mongolians. They're the
- 1:27:36best. But at any point in time, we can get a
- 1:27:40Lopez Gallegos masterpiece. So it's always worth
- 1:27:45watching. My parting words are, come on, Seabass
- 1:27:48Fundy. You can do better than that. Seabass,
- 1:27:52that's good. Seabass Fundy. Well, if that's all
- 1:27:58the parting words that you guys got, that's it
- 1:28:01for this edition of the Boxing B -Sides. Man,
- 1:28:04we will see you on the other side of Fury Makudov.
- 1:28:07Fucking get your drinks and shit ready beforehand.
