Latest / No Latency / S2E97 - Night at the NCM13
Transcript
- 0:02Last time on no latency. We not have a spare on Vanna
- 0:06White. Got a nice white wall.
- 0:08Is the ammo case in here we should?
- 0:10Check. Oh my God, our stuff.
- 0:12Found it. We should probably put it back.
- 0:14We got the money. How's the car going guys?
- 0:18Good. I am.
- 0:20She is sexy. Do you know what I would like to
- 0:22finish the night off with? I've.
- 0:24Been waiting to see what this does would.
- 0:25Love to oh. I'm ready you.
- 0:27Look like a little watermelon. Yes, it matches the hair.
- 0:30It's a spicy watermelon, yes. Were you going to tell us what
- 0:34the last thing is? Now how do we find bodies?
- 0:37We go to the morgue more and. Wait, isn't that what we were
- 0:40doing? Take a body.
- 0:41Body that. Matches Domino.
- 0:43Through the flesh is weak, but Domino's spirit is willing.
- 0:46Sounds like tomorrow we have a date with death.
- 1:00I had this really weird dream last night.
- 1:04I usually don't dream but we were in this like application
- 1:10that has a server where lots of people can communicate on a
- 1:13topic and for some reason no latency our bar was on there and
- 1:20they called us evil. What?
- 1:23What a strange. Evil.
- 1:25Right, right. Evil is such a reductive term.
- 1:30I prefer the term capitalist. I mean, if we're evil, then
- 1:34what's the rest of that city, you know?
- 1:36Right, we're all the same you. Got to put us in perspective a
- 1:39little bit. Iona, you've really created some
- 1:42discord here. About.
- 1:46Sorry discourse, sorry my mouth's.
- 1:50My mouth slips. Slippery mouth, vendo.
- 1:54That's a personal matter. What I did last night is between
- 1:57me and. My jaw is on the floor.
- 2:03Vendo please. Well then you should sanitize
- 2:06your chin. Retro Retro is just going to
- 2:16order a drink and they're going to open up a side compartment on
- 2:20the side of their head and they're going to pull out a
- 2:23little leather bound booklet and just start writing some notes in
- 2:28there it. Is very funny to me that the
- 2:30computer head man is really into taking notes.
- 2:33Analog are. You are you asking me that as
- 2:37Jeff? No.
- 2:39If. You want to ask me, feel free.
- 2:42All right, all right, wait a minute.
- 2:44So you reggro, you got a computer for a head, but you're
- 2:49taking notes with a. Well, it's a, it's a, it's a
- 2:54casing. I think technically his head is
- 2:57ATV, not a computer monitor. It it's a it doesn't work like.
- 3:01I don't understand the difference.
- 3:03Well, that just for Jeb not understanding, I think is going
- 3:06to prove my point once I explain it.
- 3:08We live in a world. We live in a society.
- 3:12Oh dear. He said it wait, we'll.
- 3:15Pull. Everything to it.
- 3:16Where everything is digital, where we have net runners that
- 3:20are consistently breaking into people's files, codes and such
- 3:25like that and can steal it. They can't do that if you have
- 3:29it written on piece of paper, can they?
- 3:31Old school, yeah. They can just steal the papers.
- 3:36No, no, no, no, no. I'm going to.
- 3:38I'll wrestle that next. Roll for it.
- 3:41Oh, sure. What do we roll for?
- 3:43That do I get sneak attack? I'm going to ask Evan an
- 3:47innocuous question to discover Would you expect Iona to snatch
- 3:52this from you? No.
- 3:54No. OK, so that means that Iona gets
- 3:56plus one to their role. You may roll whatever you like.
- 4:03Plus one yoink. So I only rolled A-17, beat a 17
- 4:07to not have it taken. You can do evasion or.
- 4:09Athletics. If I can roll whatever I.
- 4:12Think you can roll whatever? Yeah, I'm just suggesting.
- 4:14Two skills. Rolls.
- 4:16Rolls. Vision, athletic or?
- 4:17Tech working, Anything else? Build tech skill is.
- 4:21Rolls a 43. Like what?
- 4:28That's so good. At the last moment neither of
- 4:32you wrote a crit fail, so nothing crazy happens, but I
- 4:35only you do not manage to steal the book.
- 4:38Ah, see, that was a test. Maybe you're right.
- 4:40Maybe paper is safer. I mean, I feel like you can have
- 4:47physical defenses and you can have electronic defenses.
- 4:52And I mean, you know, a lock is just as good as a net runner.
- 5:00Depends on the net runner. Depends on the lock.
- 5:04I was about to say it. You beat me to it depends on the
- 5:06ice. Programs.
- 5:07Exactly. Well, now you're speaking
- 5:10nonsense. Jeb doesn't like ice, ha ha.
- 5:15Well, let's all just chill for a second, all right?
- 5:17OK, well my. Privacy is my privacy.
- 5:19What? What were you writing or what
- 5:22was this whole thing? The you were you just inspired
- 5:26by something? I've never seen you pull this
- 5:29out of your head before. That's true.
- 5:32It's been there the entire. Time we've been friends.
- 5:35Entire time we've been friends. Just just a little leather bound
- 5:38book that's been rattling around in there.
- 5:39Do you not hear those like deep thumps whenever we take like a a
- 5:43deep turn or anything? You know what?
- 5:48Fine, fine. I'll, I will, I'll, I'll let you
- 5:52read it. I'll toss it over to the to the
- 5:55to the bar and I'm going to go and light up a joint and walk
- 6:03over to the other side of the bar so I can have a conversation
- 6:05with Ping alone. OK, Remy, I I didn't actually
- 6:09want to read it. I was I was testing you well.
- 6:12It's just going to sit there then so.
- 6:15That's fine, I don't need. Does anyone to read it?
- 6:18Well, I, I am curious. I will admit I'm going to go
- 6:24over. I'm just going to take a look.
- 6:25Just a quick little all. Right.
- 6:27Are you going to open at the start, the middle or the end?
- 6:33Oh, no, I'm just going to like, take a look at the outside, see
- 6:35if it says like, you know, because if it says Retro's
- 6:38diary, you know, Jim's going to stick away from.
- 6:40Stay away. From that it doesn't say Retro's
- 6:42diary. All that you can see on there is
- 6:44that it is a leather bound book, pretty much the same type of
- 6:51leather that you would see nomads typically make their own
- 6:54bagging and such like out of. Right.
- 6:56Jeb has a lot of experience experience with that.
- 6:59And it is only the only lock on it is that it is just tied
- 7:04together with leather strap. Clearly not.
- 7:09Security is not 1/2 got priority on this, so I can't imagine he
- 7:14would mind if I take a look. So I'll go ahead and grab it and
- 7:17flip to the first page. Untie it.
- 7:19You know, flip the little pieces of string or whatever over to
- 7:23the side and take a look at the front cover and then open up the
- 7:26back of the front cover. First few pages you will read so
- 7:31you can see in some of the writing in the beginning parts
- 7:33our retro chronicling his journey from Louisiana to Night
- 7:39City with his sweetheart Felicia.
- 7:42What? What?
- 7:43This is all new. I have no idea what's going on.
- 7:48I want your. Character know what's going on?
- 7:50But. Lightly.
- 7:52Lightly. And Retro starting their own
- 7:58business and starting and getting into a little trouble
- 8:01with a small like a small to medium of firearms company
- 8:05called Zag Zagg or the company's called Zip Zags.
- 8:09It's like membras. Essentially, oh, do you want to
- 8:12keep going from there or do you want to jump ahead to the middle
- 8:15of the book? Well, all this, well, this is
- 8:19interesting. I had no idea that he came from
- 8:21Louisiana. I thought he was not city born,
- 8:24right, To be honest. But where?
- 8:25Where am I in this? You're the good part.
- 8:27You're the good part, Retro. Where Where am I?
- 8:29I'm just searching, just scanning the lines for my name.
- 8:34I don't. Find anybody's name from no
- 8:37latency. In there, not even any.
- 8:39Son of a bitch. Wait, wait, wait, hold on.
- 8:42But I'm am I chronologically to the point where I would show up
- 8:48if I were in the? Last thing that you can, the
- 8:51last entry you see in there before it stops turning into a
- 8:56journal and turns into more of schematics and ideas, which is
- 9:02the center of the book, is one Last Post that states as much as
- 9:07it hurts my heart to have faked Felicia's death, her, her
- 9:17husband, and what have maybe been what our child can at least
- 9:22be safe now. I close it.
- 9:26Well, there is nothing interesting in here.
- 9:28And here you go retro. Keep taking notes and writing
- 9:35down ideas in here, schematics and tech stuff and whatnot, and
- 9:44I'm sorry, it seems kind of personal.
- 9:46When retro's spent, Oh, retro's spent.
- 9:50No, that's nothing. And I want.
- 9:51To catch the book, slide across the bar, just still waiting for
- 9:55ping when they get the chance. Ping finishes cleaning a glass.
- 9:59What do you need retro? Hey Ping, got a couple questions
- 10:03for you, Shall you? I mean outside of US, you still
- 10:07run small crews, right? As a fixer.
- 10:12Occasionally. Occasionally, how much do you
- 10:15think would be worth an investment for you to find a
- 10:19couple of let's say loco but can handle themself type of up and
- 10:28coming runners? I'm looking for at least four,
- 10:32maybe 5. OK.
- 10:33OK. I'd like for them to potentially
- 10:38do some essence of vigilantism against local gangs that are
- 10:43causing trouble, but they have to keep within a certain theme.
- 10:46Sure. They can't report back to us.
- 10:48I'll give them. I will donate some initial funds
- 10:51to get them started. Yeah, any kind of cut we would
- 10:54get back as well. I'll put some feelers out all.
- 10:57Right, put about what, 45000 IDs on that?
- 11:03I was thinking 2 1/2, but yeah. OK, yeah, I'll I'll give paying
- 11:072 1/2 and. I'm going to keep your money
- 11:09until I find some people. It'll depend on who I get.
- 11:12OK, I have I have certain perimeters for this though.
- 11:16Yeah, send me your perimeters all.
- 11:20Right. Parameters.
- 11:22No, I'm not going. To send me your parameters.
- 11:29I have number. Of.
- 11:30Perimeters set up 12 by. 48. But that might have to wait a
- 11:34few days, because right now. I'm just going to finish writing
- 11:38this down in my journal that I just got back from Jeb after
- 11:40they wanted to break into my privacy.
- 11:42Oh good. Well, right now I'm.
- 11:44Sorry. We need to, we need to talk
- 11:47about the body. We need to get a body.
- 11:51Yeah. Oh, it's the three body problem.
- 11:54It's not the three body problem. The the one body problem.
- 11:57OK. We don't have one.
- 11:59We don't have. The one that we need.
- 12:02We've left numerous bodies and now we don't have any.
- 12:06We what's? Your body count.
- 12:11I think like body Lotto mate mate.
- 12:14No Jeb. No, Jeb.
- 12:16They're they're talking about how many people we've killed.
- 12:20Oh oh God, countless. I can't, couldn't even.
- 12:25I mean, maybe someone on the discord could let let me know,
- 12:28but no one really, I had no idea.
- 12:32The what? I mean, huh, technically, I
- 12:36guess in the thousands. I know that there was one.
- 12:41There was one event in which we were counting all of them.
- 12:45It was the couch. Yeah.
- 12:48That was at the mention, but I mean I'm talking about our last
- 12:53one was Sono. Doesn't that count as like a
- 12:55whole? It was a whole building.
- 12:59Right. But we don't.
- 13:00Have a lot of people got out? So that's just like an unknown
- 13:02number. What do you do?
- 13:04You see if clones counted or not?
- 13:06Because there's a lot and. There's this.
- 13:07There's this moment as the crew's talking about how many
- 13:10people they killed where VB is standing there in a bath.
- 13:14Like just starting to just put a few things together and you
- 13:17realize now VB that everyone else's body count is much larger
- 13:22than. You.
- 13:25Wow, I really need to catch up. Fuck.
- 13:30Do you think the word terrorist? Domestic for sure.
- 13:34Have we inspired terrorists? The question.
- 13:38Well, no, that's true. You know, if no one gets scared,
- 13:41then you can't be a terrorist. That's.
- 13:43That's that's like the first part of the word.
- 13:45It's terror. It's in the that's.
- 13:48Like where are we getting a body from?
- 13:51The the well. We.
- 13:53More. Yes.
- 13:53What's Chad doing? What's?
- 13:57Your I mean I, I you. Flinched.
- 14:01You flinched. You flinched a little bit.
- 14:04I did just send him a selfie, so he's probably conflicted right
- 14:11now. But that is not the body we're
- 14:14talking about tonight. Tonight we're going to my old
- 14:20workplace. Remember where we all first met?
- 14:24Oh, remember that fateful place? Oh yeah, we're where we put Sana
- 14:30to rest I. Mean man.
- 14:31I'm in a parking lot. Right, I forgot it was under
- 14:35under duress where we all met. That's OK, Class R4, we got to
- 14:41meet you. Yes, at the morgue, NCM 13.
- 14:46Yes, NCM 13. MCM 13 There are plenty of
- 14:51bodies there, so we just got to pick one out and you know, I
- 14:58still have my old keys. Well, that's convenient.
- 15:02So. And and and just to be clear,
- 15:06are we just, are we asking for a?
- 15:08Body are. We taking.
- 15:10A body, you know, I leave that up to us, the crew just I mean,
- 15:16I, I don't think they're going to let us take a body I.
- 15:19Mean. Unless we bribe.
- 15:22No it. If it depends on how persuasive.
- 15:26Phoebe. Yes.
- 15:28We're from a for sale. We're both alumni of Knight City
- 15:33University. Yes, and you science studying?
- 15:39You've got it. Cadaverous.
- 15:42If we pick up if we pick up one that is already been willing to
- 15:47put themselves up for science, it's already been paid for.
- 15:50The body itself is already allowed, as said their consent
- 15:53to doing it, and nobody will care the difference anyways.
- 15:57Yes, that does limit our body options though to the ones that
- 16:00did, you know. So what if it's like, I don't
- 16:03know. Ping Are we in need of a certain
- 16:06type of body or? Yes.
- 16:09It needs to be big enough to support all the cyberware 'cause
- 16:12we're giving Domino extra arms. It's a large upper body weight
- 16:15the the chest. The chest cavity has to be
- 16:18intact, and if you find a body that's almost right, if you can
- 16:22just grab some cyberware from one of the other ones, we can
- 16:25deal with it. And then to transport it, you've
- 16:28got to cryo tank it as quickly as possible.
- 16:29But Devi knows all of that. Yes, I do.
- 16:33Do we have a cryo tank available?
- 16:37That. One, is that something I'm
- 16:39supplying? Is there one at the mark?
- 16:44Do you want to roll to see if you remember if there's any of
- 16:47that kind of equipment at the morgue?
- 16:48Yeah, let's let's roll some sort of memory check.
- 16:55While you're doing that, Jeb, do you think we could just boost
- 16:59like a a freezer truck? Oh, absolutely.
- 17:04I mean, in fact, Rachel, I think you're speaking my language.
- 17:08Yes VB, you know that there are cryo tanks that you can use at
- 17:14the morgue. They can attach to the body bag,
- 17:17meaning the body bag will refrigerate the body, meaning
- 17:21keep the body from decomposing unit.
- 17:23OK, OK, got it. We may have the supplies that we
- 17:28need to acquire also at the morgue.
- 17:31So, so that is an option. We might be able to do it all
- 17:37there, take the body with us, might not need a van.
- 17:42Well, I suppose, but we could get a van and then we could add
- 17:50to the van collection that we've started.
- 17:52Where do we? Have a park, there we go.
- 17:54Exactly. Is there room?
- 17:58I mean, we can just leave it outside.
- 18:00You know, a stolen van. We'll be able to like.
- 18:03If we leave it outside. Yeah.
- 18:06Oh, I see where the problem could be.
- 18:08Yeah, we could maybe, you know, talk to Tuna.
- 18:13He's probably got some some sort of parking garage situation.
- 18:18Something entirely. Needed a stolen vehicle for.
- 18:21US. He's done it before, right?
- 18:23Yeah. He's done it before.
- 18:25I feel like the easier option. Well, he's done it before.
- 18:28You need to just do it. Doesn't work.
- 18:31Just say. Well.
- 18:33If the Med tech's saying that, then I think we've got to.
- 18:36OK, well you know what? That's fair.
- 18:39Let's take a vote. Anyone for stealing and adding
- 18:42to the van collection say aye aye.
- 18:48Anyone. Vandell rolled A3.
- 18:52Anyone for? Just Vandell.
- 18:54Aye, Vandell. Just.
- 18:56Doing it at the morgue. Aye, for the morgue because I
- 18:59rolled a. For the morgue.
- 19:01Retro are you voting? Are you?
- 19:06Abstaining. You sustain.
- 19:08You abstain. He is.
- 19:12Retro art. He's feeling he's really.
- 19:15Full. I am satiated on this.
- 19:18Vote. OK, well, that's still more
- 19:24votes for me. To just go to the morgue.
- 19:29Sorry, Jeff. We can steal a van.
- 19:31Another. Time, Jeb.
- 19:32OK, live in the Society. We'll steal a van, we'll steal a
- 19:36van. Eventually we'll get a second
- 19:38van just for you, Jeb, and we can put the bike in the back.
- 19:41We just because now we're thinking and maybe we could put
- 19:43the vans together and then. Just went through a.
- 19:45Whole van like thing, you know, so I'm, I'm kind of just like,
- 19:53let's just be happy we have Vanna White and and call it a
- 19:57day. I don't want to lose another
- 19:59van. I can understand that there was
- 20:03a lot of van Anigans. Yes.
- 20:06So I guess we're heading to the morgue.
- 20:09Yes. So the the question still is, do
- 20:12I don't know if we've decided this, are we going to negotiate
- 20:16or are we going to just punch through or are we going to
- 20:20heist? We could do heist.
- 20:22The ball at night. At night.
- 20:27Oh. Like we go late after they close
- 20:30and, you know, get in there, sneak in.
- 20:33Isn't it spooky at night? It is a morgue, yes.
- 20:38Do we worry about? I mean.
- 20:40The dead coming back to kill us again like last time.
- 20:44I mean, there's always a possibility.
- 20:47It's unlikely, dad, because it's not hell of animal.
- 20:48Trust. Yeah.
- 20:51But if we do it at night, that's when the veil is the least, so
- 20:56this natural can still happen. This is true.
- 20:59Phoebe, when you say this is true, you sound excited.
- 21:04Oh no, there's laughing. We're going to.
- 21:07We're going to try and get into the morgue at night, aren't we?
- 21:10Oh shit, the GM didn't plan for that.
- 21:15Look, that's just, I'm just saying I, I think that's the
- 21:19best option. So I honestly.
- 21:21Think that it doesn't matter what the GM planned because
- 21:23we're going to do what we want and if we want to lay some
- 21:26around all day then we will and we can sneak to the morgue at
- 21:32night. Yes.
- 21:37I like the night plan, yes. OK, we'll all need to wear dark
- 21:43clothes because we know we're doing like a burglary, OK on it.
- 21:48So like. Ohh, I can.
- 21:51Turn my leg into black light mode.
- 21:53Yes, ohh I have. Expressed that I.
- 21:56Have never worn before. I like I'm running home.
- 22:01I I will be right back. Stealth and like Vendel's doing
- 22:06like the worst stealth dance through the bar, like hiding
- 22:09behind a chair, like like sliding underneath it, a little
- 22:13bit of a bar stool stealth. Stealth, stealth, stealth dance.
- 22:17Just because you don't have these moves.
- 22:18Says Vendel as they do a spin and leave with my owner.
- 22:24It's true, I don't have those moves.
- 22:26I could stealth. Bye.
- 22:29Oh God. All right, I'll just have to go
- 22:33change my shoes. Where are my Vans and?
- 22:36Retro goes to find his shoes and it's just Jeb and Bibi left in
- 22:39the bow and Ping. Well, I guess I'm going to just
- 22:43get whatever black hoodie and black pants and just put the
- 22:49hood up. Yeah, it's it's a shame you
- 22:51didn't ask Retro to help you turn your hollow gear into some
- 22:54kind of stealth thing. Right.
- 22:56But I do have this hoodie that says Vivi on it and I think
- 22:59that's pretty cool and it's a black hoodie so.
- 23:05What's it say on the back though?
- 23:07It's got a. Bar.
- 23:08Saying vivi though, is that it's easily identifiable.
- 23:12Oh shit. It's a good boy it.
- 23:15Says I owner overcoms. Overcoms, Yeah.
- 23:20Stop, stop, stop, stop, stop. Retro You come back into the
- 23:25main area of the bar holding your vans.
- 23:27You have found them. This is a free action Well.
- 23:31I I have I have at least 12 pairs of shoes.
- 23:34All right, I'm starting to become.
- 23:35Yeah, these ones are blank. I'm.
- 23:36Starting to become a sneaker head all right, so you know.
- 23:41Rather than ATV head. Hey, Retro.
- 23:47Yeah. I was thinking, I have this new
- 23:53hollowware that I got from the market, glass market.
- 23:59Maybe we put it to use tonight and I can maybe make some like
- 24:03stealthy gear from this, you know, hollowware I have to like
- 24:09download it on or whatever. Maybe you can help me.
- 24:11I'm not the most tech savvy with these things, OK?
- 24:15Let me think here. So what we can do is because
- 24:23it's hollowware and you can only see on the outside, but you
- 24:28could potentially see through the hollowware on the inside,
- 24:31correct? If you programmed it correctly,
- 24:33yeah. That sounds right.
- 24:36So I'll take a few broken tiles and just scavenge out the
- 24:41cameras from those. Create a headband, run the wires
- 24:48down to the back, around to the back of the arm to connect them
- 24:53to the machine and then auto program via directional of the
- 24:59cameras 270° radius with a 10 foot diameter.
- 25:06We'll say that the program opposite ends of either side
- 25:13will project what the camera sees on the other side, thus
- 25:16seeming like it is a negative space and nothing is there.
- 25:20Roll for it. So does that mean you're going
- 25:22to make me invisible? Yeah.
- 25:24Wow. Retro You're old to 28.
- 25:27No. I mean, unfortunately it
- 25:30wouldn't protect you from anybody that had any kind of
- 25:33infrared sight. You would still be able to see
- 25:35anybody, heat and anything of an electronic signature because you
- 25:40would be producing an immense electromagnetic signature from
- 25:44this. So retro you have managed
- 25:46because you rolled a 28. You have managed to avoid one of
- 25:49the problems with this, which is an overarching hum from the
- 25:53feedback of the cameras. The hum is non existent in this
- 25:57retrofit. The only thing that needs to
- 26:00happen is every time you go to use it on a for another event,
- 26:05retro will have to recalibrate it for that area.
- 26:08This has been calibrated for the morgue.
- 26:09He knows what color the walls are etcetera.
- 26:12So at the morgue you get a + 2 to stealth.
- 26:17Wow. Even even to cameras, because
- 26:20all the cameras at the morgue are going to don't have
- 26:23infrared. There's no point.
- 26:24Everybody's dead all. Right, baby, we got to calibrate
- 26:27this. So look up, look down, put your
- 26:33arms up. And then Retro pulls out this
- 26:36little remote. He pushes a button at you after
- 26:39he's done this little thing, and you watch your chest turn into
- 26:43the colour of the wall behind you.
- 26:45Whoa. And in the reflection of one of
- 26:48the screens on the other side, which is off, you can see even
- 26:51in the blackness of that screen that you kind of see through
- 26:54now. What?
- 26:56This is amazing retro. It has some kinks to work out
- 27:03what this is. It's still at, it's still at.
- 27:09It's at 1080. I wish I could get it to 4K, but
- 27:11it's not. It's not picking up at that
- 27:13point. It's the cameras, really.
- 27:17I don't care. This is amazing all.
- 27:19Right, we still have to do a few calibration tests.
- 27:21OK, OK. The thing you notice though, is
- 27:24when you speak too loudly, the whole thing ripples.
- 27:28Oh. So when you're using this camo,
- 27:31you have to not raise your voice, otherwise it's easier for
- 27:35you to be seen. Retra, can you see anything when
- 27:39I talk like? This No, no, it's it seems to be
- 27:43very stabilized if you have a low voice, but it seems as the
- 27:46hollow there. No louder.
- 27:49Well. You see it Ripple.
- 27:52The vibrations of your voice seem to be affecting the hollow
- 27:54wear, so we're going to have to call us the silent Suit.
- 27:59I like it. Well, this is going to help us
- 28:03greatly for the evening, so thanks.
- 28:08This is a cool first fit for this new hollowware, all right.
- 28:12I got my black duster on, black cowboy hat, black leathered
- 28:16pants and hey, where wasn't wasn't wasn't VV just right?
- 28:22Here no. VV walks up behind Jeb.
- 28:24I'm right behind you. And then she turns off the
- 28:26hollowware. Jesus Christ.
- 28:31Oh, I retro retrofitted this amazing like camo invisibility.
- 28:41I feel like a superhero because I can be invisible ish ish.
- 28:49Oh yeah, I know that. That's real cool.
- 28:54Yeah, that's. Man this this Mesetto hollow
- 28:59Ware was so worth it. I'm so glad that I got this.
- 29:04I get all the cool stuff. Me.
- 29:06Me too. Let's.
- 29:08Let's head out to the to the morgue like I'm I'm here with
- 29:12Sue Storm and the country crow. Let's go.
- 29:15Hello. Him did they?
- 29:24Did they, did they leave? We left Diana.
- 29:29That they they, they said they were going to meet you at the
- 29:32morgue tonight. They did.
- 29:34They said they were going to meet.
- 29:35I told them I was coming right back.
- 29:37I just had to put on this slinky little cat suit.
- 29:40You look great. Thank you.
- 29:42I've been working out. I feel very snatched, very
- 29:45tight. I.
- 29:46Think Fendale comes up behind you?
- 29:48Stealth. Stealth, stealth.
- 29:49Where'd ever be go? Right, they abandoned us.
- 30:09Cybertopia is back and it's. Going punk and after the Corpus
- 30:15threw them under the bus. Our former amazing corpse
- 30:18agents. Are trying to.
- 30:19Make sense of it all. And find their place in the
- 30:21world once more. Last thing I remember the OP was
- 30:25going fine. And then everything is closed.
- 30:28So it's time to recover. I mean, hey, so far I've been
- 30:32hungover, beaten up, stole food, had an hour and a half hike,
- 30:37dragged myself half to death, got zapped, half back to life,
- 30:41everything's fine, rebuild. Well, I can dispense eggs again.
- 30:45But the lemonade? Dispenser is doing steak sauce
- 30:49and reconnect with friends old and new well.
- 30:53Well, well. Fortunately, though, not
- 30:58everything. Has been lost.
- 30:59The T dispenser still works. Search for Cybertopia AP
- 31:04anywhere you find your podcast. Huh.
- 31:21Maybe somebody's working late tonight.
- 31:26What'd you say your who'd you say your ex boss was?
- 31:29What was his name again? Doctor Dave, he was all right.
- 31:33Doctor Dave. Do you remember if there was any
- 31:35security? Not that I remember.
- 31:39I mean, it's a standard morgue. I mean, there's some cameras,
- 31:43but. No guard, no nothing.
- 31:46No, I don't think we had any night guards.
- 31:49The the thing you do remember is that you need a key card to get
- 31:52into the main morgue, but that's about it.
- 31:53Which? You have you had established
- 31:55earlier. I wonder if this thing still
- 31:57works? What thing?
- 32:00My old key card they. Usually disable key cards once
- 32:04you've left, but. You could try, yeah, but.
- 32:08Well, you're thinking corporately.
- 32:10This is simple. I think technically it's run by
- 32:17Trauma Team, so it's also kind of corporate, but we'll see.
- 32:22They don't always, you know, they don't follow every
- 32:27protocol. I mean trauma team also takes
- 32:29forever to get you in to see a doctor.
- 32:32Yes. I mean, I we could just try to
- 32:35walk in, but it seems like there might be somebody in there,
- 32:39there's some lights on over there, so maybe we should check
- 32:48it out first. Is it look like there's a window
- 32:52where we see the lights on? Can we like peek in?
- 32:54And yeah, yes, yeah. Oh, yeah, I can, I can, I can
- 33:00peek in. I don't see anybody in this
- 33:06room. Yeah, I'm not seeing anything.
- 33:11Let me go. I'm going to go around the other
- 33:12side, see if there are more windows.
- 33:15It's just that room again. Oh, oh, shit, shit.
- 33:20Yes, there's there's someone. I think it's Doctor Dave.
- 33:26Doctor Dave. If you if you go down the the
- 33:30South wall all the way to the very end, there is a window and
- 33:33he's standing directly in front of.
- 33:35Him. What is he doing here so late?
- 33:38Roll Perception stand if you want to stand outside the window
- 33:42and look through first you have to roll stealth so you're not
- 33:44seen. He does look a little
- 33:46distracted. If you want to learn more, roll
- 33:49perception as well. Still, I get a +2 to this Oh.
- 33:57That's a crit, yes. So one of the things that you
- 34:01discover, Vivi, you've all the crit success on stealth.
- 34:05So 1, you are not seen through the window at all.
- 34:09As you put your hand on the wall, as you walk along, you put
- 34:11your hand on a window and as you press on the window it
- 34:15unlatches. It wasn't quite latched
- 34:17correctly and now there's a window on the South side of this
- 34:20building that is open. It's in the same corridor as
- 34:22Doctor Dave, but it is a way in. A window that's cracked open.
- 34:28So I'm putting you next to it as you pass by this window just to
- 34:31your N. You put your hand on it as you
- 34:34were stealing along to be quiet, and as you pushed against the
- 34:37window the latch just popped open and now you could get
- 34:41through the window if you needed to.
- 34:43OK. Because you wrote a quick
- 34:44success, I'm giving you like a. Yes, OK, cool.
- 34:47I was, I was. My initial thought was did he
- 34:50break in? Like was this window cracked?
- 34:53Does it look like it was cracked open like he was get like
- 34:55somebody? Was getting it just looks like
- 34:57somebody while they were doing their, their their lock up for
- 34:59the night just did it too quick and you just lucked out.
- 35:02All right. Well, Doctor Dave is there?
- 35:07Yes. Do you want to see more about
- 35:08Doctor Dave? Oh, yes, yes.
- 35:10And Iona also rob Cepsion I suppose.
- 35:13Yes, Doctor Dave is there. Hold on. 22, You can see he's on
- 35:21his his agent, he's talking to someone and he looks a little
- 35:25irate. The window's not like super
- 35:28thick, so you can kind of hear a little bit of what he's saying.
- 35:33No, no, the door won't open. The door won't open.
- 35:36And I'm trying. I've tried.
- 35:37No, no, no, I tried doing the fact.
- 35:39Yeah, yes, you can put me on hold.
- 35:41Fuck. Interesting interesting.
- 35:46Are there parts of the? Conversation that we can't hear.
- 35:49He's now on hold so. You're you're now watching a man
- 35:51stare at his agent while he waits for someone to come back
- 35:54onto the phone. Well, I am.
- 35:56I'm going. To for first I should probably
- 35:58stealth, but then I am going to stare intently at his mouth so
- 36:05that I can start liberating as soon as Doctor Dave starts
- 36:10speaking. Sure, roll through it.
- 36:13All right, here's the style. Fantastic you are not.
- 36:15Seen and here's. Liberating 21 holy.
- 36:19Crap. Yeah, you look through the.
- 36:21Window and you see him say the words the morgue is on lockdown
- 36:28and then someone asks him a question over the phone.
- 36:31I don't know why I didn't do it and the alarm didn't go off.
- 36:36Something fishy is going on. All right, well.
- 36:38I. Guess I'll communicate that back
- 36:40to the team. The the whole morgue is on
- 36:43lockdown. What?
- 36:45Why is the morgue? On lockdown, Doctor.
- 36:49Dave doesn't know and and the alarm didn't go off apparently
- 36:53and so there's not really a clear explanation.
- 36:57OK. Well, it apparently.
- 36:59Seems to be a grave situation. Oh God.
- 37:03That. Is not normal.
- 37:09I know normally his jokes are pretty.
- 37:10Good. That was bad.
- 37:14We. Usually.
- 37:16Everything's. Usually like a standard protocol
- 37:18here this. I wonder if they have like avip
- 37:22body or something in there or I don't know it's.
- 37:28Kind. Of very important well is there.
- 37:29A way to lift the. Lockdown, you know, with with
- 37:32the computer system if Doctor Dave can't.
- 37:35Do it. He runs the place.
- 37:37Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. Oh, I'm going to, I'm going to
- 37:40run, I'm going to run around the back to see that.
- 37:44Vivi, do you know, is there like a control panel around here
- 37:47somewhere that maybe Remy could access?
- 37:52There is one on the. Outside I'm running around
- 37:54looking for it. There's a, there's a car back
- 37:57here. I assume that's Doctor Dave's.
- 37:59You all can hear me over the over the comms, right?
- 38:02Yes. Right, loud and clear.
- 38:04Oh. Gosh, I thought I was.
- 38:06Talking. To myself for a moment, yes, I
- 38:08do remember there's. One, if you can find it, I don't
- 38:12remember where it is, could. It be.
- 38:16Next to the emergency exit, it looks like this computer on the
- 38:20wall that's. Probably it it's all the way
- 38:24around the back. Yeah.
- 38:26Let's let's all head to the back.
- 38:28That might be a better option. Vivi and Jeb.
- 38:31And Vendel go to find Iona at the back of the building.
- 38:35Iona, you're on your own at the back of the building.
- 38:38Sure, I am you. Pass by a car.
- 38:40That was parked behind the building, not in a parking
- 38:42space. And for whatever reason you
- 38:44assumed that that was docked today.
- 38:46Yeah, it seems. It seems pretty.
- 38:48Benign. That car parked behind it seemed
- 38:51benign. Until you came round the corner
- 38:53after finding the the panel. You see it on the wall and
- 38:56you're super excited because you found it.
- 38:58I found it. You're standing there outside of
- 39:01this door, and you look to your right and you see a car parked
- 39:04in Doctor Dave's space. Oh.
- 39:08Hey, Vivi, what kind? Of car, does Doctor Dave drive
- 39:11or do you remember? I don't know something.
- 39:17Corporate yellow. Oh, yes, OK, so.
- 39:21Doctor Dave's car is here. I I didn't walk past that
- 39:24vehicle that I mentioned earlier and so I don't know the vehicle
- 39:28that is Iona. Can you roll?
- 39:29Evasion for me. Oh oh.
- 39:34Certainly. No, I I could if.
- 39:41I could figure out that. Nope.
- 39:44Where is aphasia fighting? Right?
- 39:47You get a minus. 4 to this why? I'm going to argue that I.
- 39:56Don't. We'll see.
- 40:02No, I I am actually going. To.
- 40:03Argue that it would be less of a minus.
- 40:07For whatever reason you're minusing me because I am in
- 40:13something that is very aerodynamic and I can I easily
- 40:17have range of movement. Fair enough.
- 40:22We'll roll for it. Iona you rolled A14 on evasion?
- 40:28And did I? Did I?
- 40:30Perhaps lessen lessen the negative.
- 40:32I rolled. I rolled A7.
- 40:35I rolled A7. On the.
- 40:36Dice. Are they trying to hit me with
- 40:38their car? I just have to check the
- 40:40character. Sheet they.
- 40:42Have a brawling of eight. That's 15.
- 40:46Fuck. Which means.
- 40:48Hold on. That Iona.
- 40:51As you're asking about the car. In the middle of the.
- 40:56Sentence Someone grabs you from behind.
- 41:15Next time I'll no. Latency.
- 41:20Remain calm, I know. Where they went, Me and the rest
- 41:23of the other Hamburglars. Go with each van V van.
- 41:26That's my whole plan get. In there, it's going to mess
- 41:28with our whole plan. We can take it step by step.
- 41:30You've. Inflicted a critical injury.
- 41:32Quiet job in and out. Real easy, you know.
- 41:34I was really hoping to put this that was a warning shot.
- 41:37New outfit to use? We'll just take one body and
- 41:40we'll get. Out of your hair?
- 41:41Damn, who do you work for? Here we go again.
- 41:44I don't know. Are you OK?
- 41:45You just. Jump from a vehicle you can't
- 41:46kill Dave. I'm sorry.
- 41:47Van doesn't seem drivable, but. You had to make it complicated.
- 41:50This guy's a big penis. You were affected by his penis.
- 41:53Fire away. Are you OK?
- 41:55You seem. Like upset I'm I'm coming
- 41:57through that door. I didn't.
- 41:58Realize we were having a Dick. Measuring contest?
- 42:00Oh boy, it's getting crazy. You.
- 42:02Guys. Oh, thank God.
- 42:03Brand new white wall. Delicious tires, rut rope and
- 42:07dive back. Down OH.
