- 0:01Speaker 2: It is Verdict with Senator Ted Cruz Ben Ferguson with you. Senator,
- 0:05Speaker 2: we have a special guest and a show tonight that
- 0:08Speaker 2: relates to the State of the Union and.
- 0:10Speaker 1: The Republican response. I'll let you take it away from there.
- 0:14Speaker 3: Well, today on the podcast, I'm very excited. We have
- 0:16Speaker 3: a guest, my friend and colleague, Alabama Senator Katie Britt,
- 0:20Speaker 3: who gave the Republican response to the State of the Union.
- 0:23Speaker 3: She gave it and the media proceeded to go nuts.
- 0:26Speaker 3: They pilloried her, They've demonized her like crazy. Well, we're
- 0:29Speaker 3: gonna talk to Kate with Katie about all about that.
- 0:31Speaker 3: We're gonna get into it. Then we're also going to
- 0:33Speaker 3: get into Joe Biden's fallout after the State of the Union,
- 0:36Speaker 3: as he immediately backtracked, and of course the thing he
- 0:39Speaker 3: wanted to correct is that he actually referred to the
- 0:42Speaker 3: murder of Lake and Riley as an illegal which he
- 0:44Speaker 3: promptly apologized for. Craven. We're gonna get into all of
- 0:47Speaker 3: that today, but.
- 0:48Speaker 2: First I want to tell you about our friends at
- 0:50Speaker 2: Freedom Gold. Inflation is heavily eroding our purchasing power. It's

- 1:19Speaker 2: physical gold and silver that I can get my hands
- 1:23Speaker 2: on whenever I may need it. When you look at
- 1:25Speaker 2: what's been happening with financial institutions, looking at certain words
- 1:29Speaker 2: that people use like maga or Bible, and basically looking
- 1:33Speaker 2: at what Americans are doing, I want to know there's
- 1:35Speaker 2: something that I can have when it comes to my
- 1:38Speaker 2: finances that they can't touch, and that is physical gold
- 1:43Speaker 2: and silver. So if you have fifty thousand dollars or
- 1:46Speaker 2: more in retirement savings, you, as you know, may want

- 2:38Speaker 2: to ten thousand dollars in Free Silver Center. It has
- 2:41Speaker 2: been truly shocking, and I obviously want you to introduce
- 2:45Speaker 2: our guests the audience. But the media's reaction and how
- 2:49Speaker 2: nasty they were to the Republican response to the State
- 2:52Speaker 2: of the Union.
- 2:53Speaker 3: Well, look that's exactly right, and so we're joined tonight
- 2:56Speaker 3: on the podcast with Katie Britt. Katie Britt is Senator
- 2:59Speaker 3: for the state of Alabama. She was elected in twenty
- 3:02Speaker 3: twenty two. She is the first woman ever to be
- 3:04Speaker 3: elected to the Senate from Alabama. She is the youngest
- 3:07Speaker 3: Republican woman ever elected to the United States Senate. She's
- 3:10Speaker 3: just forty two years old. She's a mom of two teenagers.
- 3:13Speaker 3: She has a terrific background. She used to be the
- 3:16Speaker 3: CEO of the Business Council of Alabama. She was also
- 3:18Speaker 3: the chief of staff to Richard Shelby, who was truly
- 3:22Speaker 3: a legend and icon in the Senate, someone I served
- 3:25Speaker 3: with for a long time. He was in the Senate
- 3:27Speaker 3: I think like four hundred and three years or something
- 3:29Speaker 3: like that, that's right. And so she like ran Shelby's
- 3:33Speaker 3: operations and then came in and I got to tell you,
- 3:37Speaker 3: Katie is a star. She is young and energetic and
- 3:41Speaker 3: vibrant and passionate. And she did the response. And look, everyone,
- 3:45Speaker 3: remember back to last week. We see Joe Biden standing
- 3:48Speaker 3: there to the State of the Union. He's an old, cranky,
- 3:51Speaker 3: bitter man, yelling and screaming. As we said on the
- 3:54Speaker 3: pod immediately after the State of the Union, he was
- 3:57Speaker 3: the grumpy old man saying, get off my li on.
- 4:01Speaker 3: And then the contrast, you go to a young, happy,
- 4:05Speaker 3: beautiful mom sitting there talking about the issues facing American families.
- 4:10Speaker 3: And I got to say, if you're a Democrat, if
- 4:12Speaker 3: you're a partisan, this is a nightmare. That contrast is terrifying.
- 4:18Speaker 3: And so what has happened is the media has had
- 4:21Speaker 3: a conniption fit. They have gone after her with both barrels.
- 4:26Speaker 3: They have gone nuts. And so just at lunch today
- 4:28Speaker 3: I pulled her aside and said, hey, you kicked ass
- 4:31Speaker 3: last week, and for what it's worth, the fact that
- 4:35Speaker 3: the media is losing its mind should encourage you through
- 4:39Speaker 3: and through. There's a reason they're attacking you because they
- 4:43Speaker 3: are terrified and threatened by you. And we started talking
- 4:48Speaker 3: and I said, you know what, come on the pod tonight.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Let's talk about it. She said, awesome. So Katie, welcome
- 4:53Speaker 3: to Verdict.
- 4:53Speaker 4: Thank you so much. I am excited to be on here.
- 4:57Speaker 4: I appreciated you pulling me to the side today and
- 4:59Speaker 4: having that converse. As you said, you know well what
- 5:02Speaker 4: it's like to be right over the target, and so
- 5:05Speaker 4: being able to talk through that with you and reflect
- 5:08Speaker 4: on Joe Biden's really angry speech and no media attention
- 5:13Speaker 4: to that, and then mine and heaven forbid that you
- 5:17Speaker 4: show a little bit of passion about the things that
- 5:19Speaker 4: mattered to American families. It was quite different.
- 5:23Speaker 3: And by the way, you want, we want the perfect encapsulation.
- 5:27Speaker 3: Saturday Night Live now I have to admit the night
- 5:30Speaker 3: of the State of the Union, I knew you were
- 5:32Speaker 3: going to be on SNL, absolutely, and I knew you
- 5:35Speaker 3: were going to be the cold open. But this, you
- 5:37Speaker 3: want to really sum up how corrupt the media is
- 5:41Speaker 3: the cold open of Saturday Night Live. They have Joe
- 5:43Speaker 3: Biden for like two minutes, and they just kind of
- 5:46Speaker 3: have him as sort of a happy dottery like you. Oh,
- 5:48Speaker 3: he's happy. They don't have him screaming in bitter and angry.
- 5:51Speaker 3: They don't have any of.
- 5:52Speaker 4: That, right, And he totally gave a campaign speech. Let's
- 5:54Speaker 4: be clear. I mean it was anti Trump, anti Trump,
- 5:57Speaker 4: it was, I mean, the whole thing angry. Yeah, doesn't
- 6:01Speaker 4: make sense. I was speaking some type of gibberish at
- 6:04Speaker 4: some point, yep. But no, Yeah.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And so the cold open, eighty percent of it is
- 6:09Speaker 3: Katie's response. And and by the way, okay, the thing
- 6:13Speaker 3: that was the coolest is you're played by Scarlett Johansson.
- 6:16Speaker 4: I mean, how awesome is that?
- 6:18Speaker 3: Okay, Katie? Look, Scarlett Johansson is hot. Yeah, And all right,
- 6:24Speaker 3: I am genuinely jealous because look, Estenel has come after
- 6:27Speaker 3: me a bunch of times, right, they don't ever have
- 6:29Speaker 3: Tom Cruise paying play me? How come you get a
- 6:32Speaker 3: gorgeous movie star and like, you know that is a
- 6:37Speaker 3: real compliment that you ought to be pretty psyched with.
- 6:40Speaker 4: Well, I actually was pretty pumped about that. I thought,
- 6:43Speaker 4: you know what, obviously, no, we're gonna be the cold open, Like,
- 6:45Speaker 4: how is this going to work out? And you wonder
- 6:47Speaker 4: who in the world is gonna play you? Right? And
- 6:51Speaker 4: I'll be honest with you, uh a bingo card of
- 6:53Speaker 4: twenty twenty four for Katie bred I did not have
- 6:56Speaker 4: this on it right, and so certainly didn't have Scarlett
- 6:59Speaker 4: Johannes and plagued me and I was trying. We were
- 7:02Speaker 4: talking to the kids about all of it, and they
- 7:04Speaker 4: were like, oh my gosh, mom, and da da da
- 7:06Speaker 4: and and we I said, you know, look, it could
- 7:09Speaker 4: be worse. I mean, Scarlett Johanson, here, you have Black Widow.
- 7:14Speaker 4: They bring in someone from Avengers to play me in
- 7:18Speaker 4: the cold Open. I'm here for it. I am I'm
- 7:20Speaker 4: here for it.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So that's a.
- 7:22Speaker 4: Pretty pretty fun moment.
- 7:23Speaker 3: By the way, in terms of Republican portrayals, like they
- 7:28Speaker 3: have had some vicious one. Okay, let's start off with
- 7:31Speaker 3: at least you were played by a woman.
- 7:33Speaker 4: That's fair.
- 7:34Speaker 3: So when SNEL has had me, I've also been played
- 7:37Speaker 3: by a woman.
- 7:39Speaker 1: Stopping And by the way, you really all right, Santa,
- 7:43Speaker 1: hold on?
- 7:43Speaker 2: You got to tell the story of when Saturday Night
- 7:45Speaker 2: Live was messing with you and when they had a
- 7:48Speaker 2: chick playing you, please for people that missed that Saturday
- 7:51Speaker 2: Night Live episode.
- 7:52Speaker 3: Yeah, so look, they cast eighty Bryant as me, and
- 7:54Speaker 3: she's really funny and like you know, coming off the
- 7:57Speaker 3: whole CanCon thing. They had her in life corn rows
- 8:01Speaker 3: and sipping a margarita and it was hysterical. I liked great.
- 8:05Speaker 3: I thought it was awesome. And she looks pretty good
- 8:07Speaker 3: in the beard. By the way, it's a good look.
- 8:10Speaker 3: It works for But but you know what, both of
- 8:12Speaker 3: us got treated better than Sean Spicer. Remember Trump's first
- 8:16Speaker 3: press section last week?
- 8:17Speaker 4: Remind me, I don't remember what happened.
- 8:19Speaker 3: They had Melissa McCarthy play him, and.
- 8:21Speaker 1: She just it was it was funny.
- 8:24Speaker 3: It's amazing that there's an SNL episode where he's on
- 8:27Speaker 3: the podium and the podium is a mobile podium, going
- 8:30Speaker 3: down like Fifth Avenue in New York and calling himself
- 8:34Speaker 3: Spicy Spice. I mean it's hysterical.
- 8:38Speaker 2: So that happened. When that happened, she was on a
- 8:41Speaker 2: segway in New York City. I was in New York
- 8:45Speaker 2: and saw that actually being filmed the first time they
- 8:48Speaker 2: did it, and I was like, what is this person
- 8:51Speaker 2: who looks like Sean Spicer on his seg going down
- 8:54Speaker 2: the road in New York City and they were taping
- 8:56Speaker 2: it was amazing.
- 8:58Speaker 3: Look, I'm just glad that that Trump didn't choose that
- 9:01Speaker 3: moment to test his theory that he could shoot someone
- 9:03Speaker 3: on Fifth Avenue and and and and not lose any support.
- 9:06Speaker 1: Fair and get away with it.
- 9:07Speaker 2: All right, I gotta I gotta ask you a question, Center,
- 9:10Speaker 2: and this is let's go backwards a little bit. Yeah,
- 9:13Speaker 2: when did you find out you were going to do
- 9:16Speaker 2: the rebuttal?
- 9:17Speaker 1: And how does that play out?
- 9:19Speaker 5: Yeah?
- 9:19Speaker 4: So I guess maybe a few weeks ago. I got
- 9:23Speaker 4: a call and the first call came from Leader McConnell,
- 9:27Speaker 4: and I was on the flight. I was on the
- 9:29Speaker 4: flight home and I got a call and then it
- 9:32Speaker 4: said you know that the text message like please call
- 9:36Speaker 4: you know, and you can kind of sort of hear
- 9:37Speaker 4: it coming, and I thought, oh, shoot, you.
- 9:40Speaker 3: Know what I did pretty good, Mitch impression can do
- 9:42Speaker 3: a little more. You have a Kentucky roll I have.
- 9:45Speaker 4: If we get into this for a minute, I've got
- 9:47Speaker 4: some really good ones.
- 9:49Speaker 3: I think that's that that that's very welcome. And to
- 9:51Speaker 3: be clear, we don't even have a glass of wine.
- 9:53Speaker 3: This is this is we do not.
- 9:55Speaker 4: That's exactly right. So so I thought, oh, shoot, you
- 9:59Speaker 4: know what. So I tried to call and you know,
- 10:03Speaker 4: got home because I get home on Thursdays in time
- 10:06Speaker 4: to like get in to like pick up the kids
- 10:08Speaker 4: from practice or go to a game or like right
- 10:10Speaker 4: there in time if if we get out of here
- 10:12Speaker 4: on time. And so tried to tried to call, didn't answer.
- 10:16Speaker 4: So then I sent a text back and just said,
- 10:18Speaker 4: tried to call you, and I'll send you headed you know,
- 10:21Speaker 4: out with the kids, but I'll try tomorrow. And he
- 10:24Speaker 4: wrote back it's important, And I thought, oh darn, he
- 10:27Speaker 4: like found out like I'm in a vote certain way
- 10:29Speaker 4: or like, you know what, what is what is this about?
- 10:32Speaker 1: You know?
- 10:32Speaker 4: Right? Don't you you see what I'm saying.
- 10:34Speaker 1: You're going to get reprimanded right here.
- 10:36Speaker 4: Right, I'm like, you rarely hear And I'm like, oh,
- 10:38Speaker 4: that's what this is. And so I called back and
- 10:43Speaker 4: he just said, you know, Speaker Johnson and I have
- 10:47Speaker 4: been talking and we get to select somebody to give
- 10:51Speaker 4: the rebuttal to the State of the Union and uh
- 10:54Speaker 4: and he said, and you know, and and we want
- 10:57Speaker 4: it to be you and you'll I really did not
- 11:01Speaker 4: know what to say. First off, I kind of thought
- 11:04Speaker 4: I was being punked, you know what I mean, like
- 11:06Speaker 4: is this It was like an out of body experience.
- 11:11Speaker 4: And then I said I am. And I really wanted
- 11:15Speaker 4: to say the word shook, right, but I didn't think
- 11:19Speaker 4: that shook would translate in the moment. You know, It's
- 11:23Speaker 4: like not necessarily I would think something that like is
- 11:26Speaker 4: in uh, Mitch McConnell's every day vocabulary. And so I said,
- 11:31Speaker 4: I am, So.
- 11:32Speaker 3: Mitch is literally double Katie's age.
- 11:36Speaker 4: There's that, And so I just said, yeah, So I
- 11:39Speaker 4: just said I am. And so instead of the word shook.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I was really proud of myself. I had a little
- 11:44Speaker 4: bit of a moment of refinement, and I said, I
- 11:46Speaker 4: am without words, and so I just told him how
- 11:52Speaker 4: honored I was, how humbled I would be, you know that.
- 11:54Speaker 4: But ask him, you know, could I have some time
- 11:56Speaker 4: to think about it, and he said, you know absolutely
- 11:59Speaker 4: that that that was fine. And then I got a
- 12:02Speaker 4: call from Speaker Johnson. And Speaker Johnson and I don't
- 12:06Speaker 4: have not had an opportunity to really get to know
- 12:08Speaker 4: each other, but I had met him previously and met
- 12:11Speaker 4: his wife, and so he asked the same thing. And
- 12:14Speaker 4: the funny thing is he's like, no, don't worry about
- 12:16Speaker 4: you know, people are going to tell you horror stories
- 12:19Speaker 4: about all of these things that happened and people's people's
- 12:23Speaker 4: career being blown up over it. And he's like, it'll
- 12:27Speaker 4: be fine, It'll be fine. And he was. He was
- 12:29Speaker 4: so kind and just and and really welcoming, and you know,
- 12:33Speaker 4: I think it was a great conversation. But the irony
- 12:37Speaker 4: that he's like, don't you worry like that, that's not
- 12:41Speaker 4: And so talked to both of them and obviously then
- 12:44Speaker 4: finally accepted doing it, but still kind of thought, is
- 12:49Speaker 4: this even for real? I mean I haven't even given
- 12:51Speaker 4: a floor speech yet, you know, right at the Senate yet.
- 12:55Speaker 4: But was excited and particularly as as you mentioned earlier,
- 13:00Speaker 4: being you know, the only Republican female with school age
- 13:02Speaker 4: kids and kind of bringing that like next generation voice.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I mean, you and I were just talking about our
- 13:08Speaker 4: our you know, kind of what it's like to be
- 13:11Speaker 4: parents in doing this, and all both teenagers, we both
- 13:13Speaker 4: have teenagers, and so bring in that voice and particularly
- 13:17Speaker 4: you know that of conservative women to the table. It
- 13:22Speaker 4: was an honor to be chosen, but seriously and out
- 13:24Speaker 4: of body experience.
- 13:26Speaker 3: So in a couple of things Katie referenced to give
- 13:28Speaker 3: some background, Like number one, there's a tradition in the
- 13:31Speaker 3: Senate that that freshman senators wait a reasonable period of
- 13:35Speaker 3: time before giving their first speech, and the first speech
- 13:37Speaker 3: on the floor is called the maiden speech, and you
- 13:39Speaker 3: wait for it, and it's so like and it's just
- 13:42Speaker 3: sort of you know, it's an old institution and it's
- 13:44Speaker 3: kind of how it operates. But also like the response
- 13:48Speaker 3: to the State of the Union, it's chosen by the
- 13:51Speaker 3: Republican leader in the Senate and the Republican leader in
- 13:53Speaker 3: the House, and the two of them they often alternate
- 13:55Speaker 3: on it, but they get to pick who it is.
- 13:58Speaker 3: And you know, Katie, you and I were just talking
- 14:01Speaker 3: a few minutes ago. I mean, there are maybe thirty
- 14:04Speaker 3: people on planet Earth who've given a response to a
- 14:08Speaker 3: State of the Union address. Yeah, like it's I've never
- 14:11Speaker 3: done that. I don't know what that experience is like.
- 14:13Speaker 3: And so you have the ability to share with Verdict listeners. Right,
- 14:17Speaker 3: So you get a call from Mitch McConnell, they say, hey,
- 14:19Speaker 3: will you do the response you've got You said a
- 14:22Speaker 3: couple of weeks to prepare, Like how was preparing? Kind
- 14:24Speaker 3: of what did you go through to say, Okay, what
- 14:26Speaker 3: am I going to say? And what do I want
- 14:27Speaker 3: the message?
- 14:28Speaker 4: And so yeah, and on your point about the maiden speech,
- 14:30Speaker 4: like the irony is is like you know, kind of
- 14:33Speaker 4: just trying to keep my head down so and learn
- 14:37Speaker 4: and listen. And now that maiden speech is going to
- 14:39Speaker 4: seem like nothing right. But yeah, so you've got a
- 14:42Speaker 4: little bit a little bit of time to prepare, but
- 14:45Speaker 4: you also don't know what to prepare for. And to
- 14:47Speaker 4: be honest with you, I never thought in a million
- 14:50Speaker 4: years he was going to come out there and give
- 14:52Speaker 4: this type of like yelling and so just vindictive, particularly
- 14:59Speaker 4: towards Trump. You know, it seemed like a full fledged
- 15:02Speaker 4: campaign speech. Yes, full fledged, And I expected a little
- 15:06Speaker 4: bit more of a statesman to be up there and
- 15:09Speaker 4: to really kind of sort of methodically be going through now,
- 15:11Speaker 4: I thought we would disagree of what his version of
- 15:14Speaker 4: the state of the Union was, but I didn't think
- 15:16Speaker 4: he would be you know, I didn't anticipate the posture
- 15:20Speaker 4: that he had. But so you're going through You're kind
- 15:22Speaker 4: of sort of saying, Okay, I know I'm going to
- 15:24Speaker 4: want to talk about the border. I know he's probably
- 15:26Speaker 4: not going to talk about it. Irony there, like it
- 15:29Speaker 4: took him forty minutes to get into the border. I
- 15:31Speaker 4: wanted to start with that. So you're kind of sort
- 15:33Speaker 4: of getting those facts together and then seeing like, how
- 15:35Speaker 4: can you how can you synthesize those in a way
- 15:39Speaker 4: that the public can can grab them, because there's so
- 15:42Speaker 4: much to say, right well, and.
- 15:44Speaker 3: You told a story about a woman being sex trafficked,
- 15:47Speaker 3: and the media has gone crazy quote fact checking. The
- 15:51Speaker 3: Washington Post gave you four pinocchios, unbelievable.
- 15:55Speaker 4: The interesting thing for me has been that none of
- 15:58Speaker 4: the media has covered the fact that that under Trump
- 16:01Speaker 4: in twenty eighteen, that human trafficking was a five hundred
- 16:05Speaker 4: million dollar business. It is now under Joe Biden, a
- 16:08Speaker 4: thirteen billion billion dollar business. Nobody they want to silence
- 16:13Speaker 4: a conservative woman for speaking out on this topic. They
- 16:18Speaker 4: don't want to bring light and help the women who
- 16:20Speaker 4: are actually being trafficked.
- 16:22Speaker 3: Well, and look, there is a reason they view you
- 16:25Speaker 3: as an enormous threat. The media wants to tell the
- 16:28Speaker 3: story that the only Republicans on planet Earth are old, fat, bald,
- 16:32Speaker 3: white guys, and you don't fit their narrative. I don't
- 16:37Speaker 3: like a young mom is going right at they want
- 16:41Speaker 3: voters to think. I'm sorry, if you're a woman, you
- 16:43Speaker 3: have to be a liberal Democrat. That's the only thing allowed, right,
- 16:47Speaker 3: And so it was it was sadly predictable that they
- 16:51Speaker 3: went after you.
- 16:52Speaker 4: It was, and they didn't do their homework too. I mean,
- 16:55Speaker 4: you've had to deal with this for quite some time.
- 16:57Speaker 4: But the liberal media isn't interested in the truth. They're
- 17:00Speaker 4: interested in burying the truth about Joe Biden and his
- 17:04Speaker 4: border crisis. But all they want to do is they
- 17:08Speaker 4: have an agenda. And if they really wanted to know
- 17:10Speaker 4: those stories, they would have taken time to know the facts.
- 17:13Speaker 4: And I think when all the facts come out that
- 17:14Speaker 4: people people will see the truth. But you know, so
- 17:18Speaker 4: here you are like preparing for this, you know, trying
- 17:21Speaker 4: to figure out what is he going to say and
- 17:23Speaker 4: how are you going to piece it together and you know,
- 17:25Speaker 4: and how can you make things stick? And how can you.
- 17:29Speaker 2: You know, this is on the edits, like how much
- 17:31Speaker 2: time do you have because you obviously have the speech
- 17:33Speaker 2: on the front end right that you've kind of formed,
- 17:36Speaker 2: you know, what your response in general is going to
- 17:38Speaker 2: be on these core issues, but you're watching him, yeah,
- 17:40Speaker 2: give a speech that you weren't expecting. So how much
- 17:45Speaker 2: time do you have to make last minute edits before
- 17:47Speaker 2: you went live?
- 17:49Speaker 1: You know?
- 17:49Speaker 4: It is not very much. We actually thought we had
- 17:52Speaker 4: gotten word that his speech was going to be a
- 17:54Speaker 4: lot shorter than usual. Yeah, so like they had said,
- 17:57Speaker 4: like this is going to be twenty five in and out,
- 17:59Speaker 4: like we're going to be done, And it ended up
- 18:02Speaker 4: being obviously a really long speech. So so that was
- 18:07Speaker 4: an interesting because we kind of sort of thought that
- 18:09Speaker 4: he was wrapping up when he wasn't wrapping up, and
- 18:11Speaker 4: so his.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Speech was an hour and seven minutes. And I know
- 18:14Speaker 3: that because Roger Marshall texted out to a bunch of
- 18:17Speaker 3: us a series of bets to have on the speech,
- 18:19Speaker 3: one of which was an over under and it was
- 18:21Speaker 3: seventy minutes, and I took the over and of course
- 18:24Speaker 3: he was sixty seven minutes, so I was three minutes
- 18:25Speaker 3: off winning on that.
- 18:26Speaker 4: Oh see ted so close, so oh well, so close.
- 18:31Speaker 4: So you're trying to make those kind of in the
- 18:33Speaker 4: in the last minute, and I do think, you know,
- 18:37Speaker 4: there's also interesting things like we were making edits, like
- 18:39Speaker 4: when he ended up saying, you know Lake and Riley's
- 18:44Speaker 4: name but said Lincoln Riley, And you know you're kind
- 18:47Speaker 4: of thinking, Okay, well, let's not go there, but but like,
- 18:50Speaker 4: let's make sure that we make him own that because
- 18:53Speaker 4: particularly on that, you know, I wanted to get into
- 18:57Speaker 4: parole issue because you know, there's been a lot of
- 18:59Speaker 4: talk and I figured he was going to blame Republicans
- 19:01Speaker 4: for you know, failed this or failed that when it
- 19:04Speaker 4: comes to the border, and I wanted to really bring
- 19:07Speaker 4: light to the fact that he wouldn't give up the
- 19:08Speaker 4: tools that he was using to abuse the entire quote,
- 19:15Speaker 4: you know, border policies that he had, like he you know,
- 19:19Speaker 4: the presidential parole that he's been using. So you have
- 19:22Speaker 4: Obama and Trump who paroled about five thy six hundred
- 19:25Speaker 4: people on average a year using this presidential parole authority.
- 19:29Speaker 4: He has these entire programs where he's parolling on average
- 19:33Speaker 4: about a million people a year ual and and Lake
- 19:36Speaker 4: and Riley's murderer was paroled into the nation under his
- 19:41Speaker 4: presidential parole authority. I mean it was a choice of his,
- 19:43Speaker 4: which I also have found interesting because I actually, you know,
- 19:47Speaker 4: really accented that word like that he chose to let
- 19:51Speaker 4: into the country. You know that he to parole into
- 19:53Speaker 4: the country, And they've taken no issue with that because
- 19:56Speaker 4: they know that it's his policies that are causing these things.
- 19:59Speaker 4: So you're just trying to kind sort of figure out
- 20:00Speaker 4: how do we pack a punch in here in a
- 20:03Speaker 4: short amount of time and respond to some of the
- 20:06Speaker 4: things he said in a meaningful way.
- 20:08Speaker 3: So look, I will say historically, the media has had
- 20:11Speaker 3: two attacks on Republicans that a Republican is either stupid
- 20:16Speaker 3: or evil, and by the way, history shows, stupid is
- 20:20Speaker 3: the much better attack. So in the media is telling
- 20:23Speaker 3: Ronald Reagan was stupid, Dan Quayle was stupid, George W.
- 20:26Speaker 3: Bush was stupid. Nixon was evil, Dick Cheney was evil,
- 20:31Speaker 3: Donald Trump is evil. Between the two, it's clear stupid
- 20:34Speaker 3: is better. They sort of took a variation on a
- 20:38Speaker 3: theme with you and they went with crazy. And look
- 20:42Speaker 3: to their narrative, you're not allowed to be a conservative,
- 20:46Speaker 3: You're not allowed to embrace common sense, you're not allowed
- 20:49Speaker 3: to reject the left wing dogma unless there's something wrong
- 20:52Speaker 3: with you. And so they didn't go with stupid, they
- 20:54Speaker 3: didn't go with evil, They just said crazy, lady.
- 20:57Speaker 2: For the past ten years, Patriot Mobile has been in
- 21:00Speaker 2: America's only Christian conservative wireless provider. And when I say only,
- 21:04Speaker 2: I mean it. Patriot Mobile is a company that I use.
- 21:08Speaker 2: I look down at my phone and in the top
- 21:10Speaker 2: left it says Patriot Now. I love that because it
- 21:14Speaker 2: means I'm giving my money to a company that actually
- 21:16Speaker 2: is fighting for the values that I believe in. You
- 21:19Speaker 2: may not know this, but Big Mobile that you're with
- 21:22Speaker 2: right now is probably giving massive donations to liberal causes,
- 21:27Speaker 2: candidates organizations that include Plan Parenthood. If you are sick
- 21:33Speaker 2: and tired of giving your money to companies that literally
- 21:35Speaker 2: hate your values, well, then switch your sell provider to
- 21:39Speaker 2: Patriot Mobile. The other thing about Patriot mo is you
- 21:42Speaker 2: get the same exact service that you're used to right now,
- 21:45Speaker 2: because I use all the three major networks that you're on,
- 21:49Speaker 2: one of them right now. That means you get the
- 21:52Speaker 2: same coverage that you're used to without funding the left.
- 21:56Speaker 2: And when you switch to Patriot Mobile, this is where
- 21:58Speaker 2: it gets great. They actually take about five percent of
- 22:01Speaker 2: your bill every month and they give it back to
- 22:03Speaker 2: conservative causes and organizations that you help choose to support.
- 22:08Speaker 2: I'm talking about supporting free speech, religious freedom, the sanctity
- 22:12Speaker 2: of life, the Second Amendment, as well as our military,
- 22:15Speaker 2: our veterans, and our first responder and wounded warriors.
- 22:19Speaker 1: They have one.
- 22:20Speaker 2: Hundred percent US based customer service team that makes switching
- 22:24Speaker 2: easy and you can keep your same cell phone number
- 22:26Speaker 2: you have right now, So don't wait, make a difference
- 22:30Speaker 2: with every phone call and get away from woke big companies.
- 22:34Speaker 2: Go to Patriotmobile dot com slash verdict that's Patriotmobile dot
- 22:39Speaker 2: com slash verdict, or call them nine seven to two
- 22:42Speaker 2: Patriot that's nine seven to two Patriot and get free
- 22:46Speaker 2: activation when you use the promo code verdict Patriot Mobile
- 22:49Speaker 2: dot com slash verdict or nine to seven to two Patriot.
- 22:54Speaker 2: I was watching it and right when it went to
- 22:56Speaker 2: your kitchen, I was watching it with people and the
- 22:59Speaker 2: they and I and watch this, They're gonna say, she
- 23:02Speaker 2: just set women back fifty years from doing this from
- 23:06Speaker 2: her kitchen, trying to put women back in the kitchen.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Sure enough, Twitter instantly blew up our x and social
- 23:11Speaker 2: media of oh, look at Republicans. They think women can't
- 23:15Speaker 2: have jobs, Like she's literally sitting you as senator with
- 23:18Speaker 2: the youngest worn the Senate right now, and they're going
- 23:20Speaker 2: to overlook that whilst she's given the response.
- 23:22Speaker 1: And sure enough, that's they did to try to undermine you.
- 23:24Speaker 4: Y Oh, I mean yeah, I didn't see the chance
- 23:27Speaker 4: from go on that. And the interesting thing is is,
- 23:31Speaker 4: like again it goes back to the liberal media and
- 23:33Speaker 4: they're biased. You've got Joe Biden who actually mentions kitchen table,
- 23:38Speaker 4: his dad's kitchen table and the quote trickle down effect
- 23:42Speaker 4: of economics in his speech, and then I'm sitting at
- 23:45Speaker 4: the kitchen table that he references. And let's not forget
- 23:48Speaker 4: that Elizabeth Warren actually launched her presidential campaign from her kitchen.
- 23:54Speaker 3: Although to be clear, did you happen to see the
- 23:56Speaker 3: footage of Elizabeth Warren like awkwardly put it, pulling beer
- 24:00Speaker 3: bottles out of her fridge and it was like the
- 24:03Speaker 3: weirdest I'm sorry, this is not like a normal person
- 24:06Speaker 3: who knows how to like drink a beer, and of
- 24:08Speaker 3: course she also has a guest stove, which which democrats
- 24:11Speaker 3: want to ban. And listen, there's a long tradition. I've
- 24:14Speaker 3: filmed TV commercials in my kitchen. Look that that's where
- 24:18Speaker 3: families talk to each other exactly, So it's perfectly normal.
- 24:23Speaker 3: But they had to the fact that they went after
- 24:29Speaker 3: you that that hard is proof that it scared them,
- 24:34Speaker 3: that they don't want to give permission for women and
- 24:39Speaker 3: for moms right to be Republican. And the contrast, you
- 24:44Speaker 3: could not ask for a starker contrast between Methuselah Scrooge
- 24:51Speaker 3: and Katie Britt. Like, that's a hell of a difference.
- 24:55Speaker 4: Thank you. I appreciate it. I do, and I can't
- 24:58Speaker 4: agree with you more. I mean, it's that's what we
- 25:00Speaker 4: were talking about, is the obviously not only kitchen table issues,
- 25:04Speaker 4: but that's the place where we gather. And I think
- 25:06Speaker 4: that's threatening to them that families gather. That's where, that's
- 25:09Speaker 4: where we have conversations, that's where we pray for God's guidance.
- 25:13Speaker 4: I mean, that's where we literally talk about our days.
- 25:15Speaker 4: That's where we talk about the things we worry about.
- 25:17Speaker 3: And O Katie, they would they would have liked it
- 25:19Speaker 3: if you did, like a transgender wicka ritual in your kitchen.
- 25:22Speaker 4: That would should have added that in. You know, if
- 25:25Speaker 4: we had talked about this first, you could have given
- 25:27Speaker 4: me that idea.
- 25:28Speaker 3: There's a lot of that, elebent Right, I love it.
- 25:31Speaker 4: I love it.
- 25:32Speaker 2: When you got done with your speech, like I know,
- 25:36Speaker 2: there's that sigh of relief, okay, and then there's the
- 25:39Speaker 2: how'd it go? Right to your close team, your family
- 25:41Speaker 2: that's in there watching this?
- 25:43Speaker 1: When did you start?
- 25:44Speaker 3: By the way, were your kids watching? Where were your kids?
- 25:47Speaker 4: Yeah, so we watched the We watched Biden's speech from
- 25:51Speaker 4: the couch, like in the living room together as a family.
- 25:54Speaker 4: And then again we thought that it was going to
- 25:56Speaker 4: be shorter than it was. So they went ahead and headed,
- 25:59Speaker 4: you know, out of the room because we were gonna
- 26:01Speaker 4: it's the next room overs. We wanted it to be
- 26:03Speaker 4: quiet and like you know, had to go kind of
- 26:05Speaker 4: sort of sit in and get ready. So we watched
- 26:08Speaker 4: it there together and then we did I did this,
- 26:12Speaker 4: and then they.
- 26:12Speaker 3: Came back in the whole thing.
- 26:15Speaker 4: Yes, yes, I mean he went out with the kids
- 26:16Speaker 4: to like watch it from another place and then he
- 26:18Speaker 4: came he came back in, which actually was one of
- 26:21Speaker 4: his favorite things about Saturday Night Live is that Scarlett
- 26:24Speaker 4: Johansson was like my husband Wesley. My husband Wesley loved it.
- 26:28Speaker 3: So one of the coolest things. Katie's husband Wesley is
- 26:33Speaker 3: completely badass. So so he played played football at University Alabama,
- 26:40Speaker 3: offensive line or defensive line.
- 26:41Speaker 4: Yeah, offensive line.
- 26:42Speaker 3: I mean, he's a mountain of a man. He's enormous.
- 26:45Speaker 3: And then he played for the New England Patriots for
- 26:47Speaker 3: what ten years?
- 26:48Speaker 4: That's great. He put what he prayed for about four
- 26:50Speaker 4: or five.
- 26:50Speaker 3: Yeah, so he's absolutely what six six eight six eight
- 26:56Speaker 3: three twenty.
- 26:57Speaker 4: We cannot miss hi, Joel. He takes up a door
- 26:59Speaker 4: for him.
- 26:59Speaker 3: And by the way, Ben Wesley has also played hoops
- 27:02Speaker 3: with me and my weekly hoops game. Ben has played also.
- 27:04Speaker 3: I played this afternoon. I will tell you, I am
- 27:07Speaker 3: grateful to the end of time that Wesley just showed
- 27:11Speaker 3: mercy on us. Had he simply swung his elbows, he
- 27:15Speaker 3: would have put me and every other person playing in
- 27:18Speaker 3: the hospital. And he was a gentle giant, and I
- 27:21Speaker 3: am grateful for that restraint.
- 27:22Speaker 4: He with you, He said you're scrappy, he said, Man,
- 27:25Speaker 4: don't get in his way.
- 27:27Speaker 2: It was he could get in my way and he'd
- 27:28Speaker 2: be just reserve right now because of our last game,
- 27:31Speaker 2: So played hoops?
- 27:33Speaker 4: Did you really ben? Yes?
- 27:36Speaker 2: Yes, I was thinking about workers comp you know, calling
- 27:39Speaker 2: you know, one of those lawyers, but that apparently wasn't
- 27:41Speaker 2: worth it.
- 27:42Speaker 3: So and by the way, playing hoops, this is what
- 27:44Speaker 3: probably two years ago, when I was playing Hoop, I
- 27:47Speaker 3: had a law clerk in my office who broke my thumb.
- 27:51Speaker 4: Oh my gosh.
- 27:52Speaker 3: And like I went up for a rebound, he came
- 27:54Speaker 3: down and he was Tony from Brooklyn. I like, Tony's
- 27:57Speaker 3: a hell of ball player, but he's a muscular guy,
- 27:59Speaker 3: gold chain and he just like he plays like he's
- 28:02Speaker 3: at a street fight.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Yeah, it's OK.
- 28:04Speaker 3: And so he broke my thumb. And as I told
- 28:08Speaker 3: told my youngest daughter Catherine, when that happened, Daddy said,
- 28:11Speaker 3: a really bad word. And when you break your thumb.
- 28:14Speaker 4: That's that's that's.
- 28:16Speaker 1: Part of it, it's part of it.
- 28:17Speaker 3: And then but I am very proud to say that
- 28:19Speaker 3: that I finished the game. We won, and I actually
- 28:23Speaker 3: scored with a broken thumb. Now, now I couldn't do
- 28:26Speaker 3: a jump shot. I tried, and I literally yelped, but
- 28:29Speaker 3: but I did a finger roll and scored with a
- 28:31Speaker 3: broken thumb. And then I went and got it in
- 28:33Speaker 3: a brace and Ben, to his credit, we just played
- 28:35Speaker 3: hoops a couple of weeks ago where he broke his
- 28:37Speaker 3: finger and you finished the game with a broken finger.
- 28:39Speaker 3: It was a strong move.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Ben, you know, go big or go home, as they say, right.
- 28:44Speaker 4: That's right, that's right. Don't show weakness, like keep going.
- 28:46Speaker 2: Don't show weakness. I wasn't gonna. I was gonna make
- 28:48Speaker 2: sure that was my legacy right back to I gotta,
- 28:51Speaker 2: I gotta get back, because I got to know what
- 28:53Speaker 2: your thoughts were. You get done, you look at your family,
- 28:56Speaker 2: you look at your team, and then when did you
- 29:00Speaker 2: kind of figure out that this had gone off the
- 29:03Speaker 2: rails and they were coming after you with everything they have?
- 29:06Speaker 4: You know, so really fully the next morning, which I'll
- 29:11Speaker 4: tell you about, but that you know, in that moment,
- 29:14Speaker 4: obviously you know I had a lot of passion, put
- 29:18Speaker 4: a lot of heart and soul into it. But I
- 29:19Speaker 4: think the American people are worth it, you know, and
- 29:21Speaker 4: like you're fighting, you know, you're fighting for these families
- 29:25Speaker 4: and these families that ted like you're traveling all over
- 29:28Speaker 4: obviously Texas right now, the country, the whole thing me
- 29:32Speaker 4: and Alabama. These people want a voice. I mean there
- 29:35Speaker 4: they're saying, why does nobody get this? I feel like
- 29:38Speaker 4: I am beating my head up against the wall. And
- 29:40Speaker 4: they need somebody to fight for them. And so you know,
- 29:44Speaker 4: have a little passion in there and and get in there.
- 29:48Speaker 4: And but really thought that, you know, I tried to
- 29:51Speaker 4: deliver it with with heart and soul because I do
- 29:54Speaker 4: I think the people of America are worth that. And
- 29:58Speaker 4: so we finished and we were excited, and you know,
- 30:02Speaker 4: my daughter, like her. One of the things that she
- 30:05Speaker 4: said was that she really the part about Lake and
- 30:08Speaker 4: Riley really spoke to her. That was the part she
- 30:11Speaker 4: she is does plays volleyball and basketball and runs track
- 30:14Speaker 4: and so she actually goes out on runs, you know,
- 30:17Speaker 4: and does and does that and you just think, you know,
- 30:20Speaker 4: you just all of those things. She was like, mom,
- 30:23Speaker 4: that that to me was was the best. And we
- 30:25Speaker 4: were just kind of sort of all talking about it,
- 30:27Speaker 4: and we were excited. And you know, guys, it's strange
- 30:30Speaker 4: because here you are preparing, you know, and I'd stayed
- 30:33Speaker 4: home for a couple of days like preparing for potential
- 30:35Speaker 4: topics and how we were you know, you've kind of
- 30:37Speaker 4: got a draft speech, but then you know, so that
- 30:39Speaker 4: you can be nimble with regards to if there's something
- 30:43Speaker 4: that you're you're not expecting or there. But to deliver
- 30:46Speaker 4: a speech honestly directly into a camera. I've never done that,
- 30:52Speaker 4: And obviously if you if you were to do it again,
- 30:55Speaker 4: you'd do it. You know you would. You would know
- 30:57Speaker 4: and have kind of sort of that the ability to
- 31:01Speaker 4: learn from doing that. But you give speeches, as you know,
- 31:05Speaker 4: to groups and to you know, conventions, into all of
- 31:10Speaker 4: those kinds of things, and so that's a very different
- 31:12Speaker 4: thing to just be looking directly into the camera. And
- 31:14Speaker 4: people a lot of people thought that it was taped.
- 31:17Speaker 4: It's like, no, it's live. Like you literally walk in
- 31:19Speaker 4: the other room when he finishes, they give you a
- 31:21Speaker 4: fifteen minute countdown and then it's live.
- 31:24Speaker 3: Look, I thought you were real. I thought you were passionate.
- 31:27Speaker 3: I actually showed you the text I got from my
- 31:30Speaker 3: dad that night. He texted me and said, Wow, Katie
- 31:33Speaker 3: Brich just did an awesome job. By the way, my
- 31:35Speaker 3: dad is a tough judge. He does not think that
- 31:38Speaker 3: frequentlyious And listen, there's a long tradition, as you know,
- 31:43Speaker 3: of the media savaging and particular Republican responses. So Bobby
- 31:47Speaker 3: Gendal when he did it, they just brutalized. Yeah, and
- 31:50Speaker 3: you remember Marco Rubio. Poor Marco reached over and grabbed
- 31:53Speaker 3: a bottle of water, and they went not, oh my god,
- 31:56Speaker 3: he drinks water. Now, I will say, to Marco's credit,
- 32:00Speaker 3: his response was pretty good. His campaign website began selling
- 32:03Speaker 3: bottles of water. I think he raised like one hundred grand.
- 32:06Speaker 4: That is a selling waterline that well, we're gonna have
- 32:09Speaker 4: to figure out what I can sell. That's amazing.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 32:11Speaker 4: No, But one of my favorite things was there was
- 32:15Speaker 4: a meme that said why is Alabama Kate Middleton so mad?
- 32:20Speaker 4: And I thought, this is the highest compliment. Can we
- 32:23Speaker 4: print this out frame it?
- 32:25Speaker 3: And Scarlett Johansson like, that's a good night.
- 32:30Speaker 2: I'll take you thatlitics you're winning.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Hey, listen, Ben, And I told someone I was like,
- 32:36Speaker 4: it felt like the slowest couple of days in politics forever.
- 32:39Speaker 4: I mean, I thought, can nothing else happen? How many
- 32:43Speaker 4: days can we go where I am literally the stories
- 32:46Speaker 4: from the top to the bottom of each one of
- 32:49Speaker 4: these things, and you would have thought, like I would
- 32:51Speaker 4: have been better off having like behaved like some of
- 32:54Speaker 4: our colleagues that are like indicted for something or or
- 32:58Speaker 4: had like set something outrageous. I mean, my crime was
- 33:02Speaker 4: like putting too much passion, too much heart and soul
- 33:05Speaker 4: behind the issues that I genuinely care about, and they
- 33:09Speaker 4: slaughtered me across the airways. And so watching those things
- 33:14Speaker 4: and getting that back, I kept thinking, can there not
- 33:17Speaker 4: be another news story? And then finally Kate Middleton saved
- 33:21Speaker 4: me again with her photoshops. So, I mean I or
- 33:24Speaker 4: twice this weekend.

- 35:17Speaker 2: in your account. Now, by the way, one of the
- 35:19Speaker 2: biggest controversies coming out of the State of the Union
- 35:22Speaker 2: was one you didn't even have a chance to get
- 35:25Speaker 2: to respond to.
- 35:27Speaker 1: And I want to get your take on this.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Biden used the word illegal immigrant when he was referencing
- 35:36Speaker 2: the person who's been accused of killing Lakenriley.
- 35:39Speaker 1: The name, by the way, that he got wrong.
- 35:41Speaker 2: You mentioned that earlier Lincoln Riley's a football coach USC
- 35:45Speaker 2: and he got it wrong. But now he's gone on
- 35:49Speaker 2: essence an apology tour to the illegal immigrant who was
- 35:53Speaker 2: accused of killing her. And this is what he had
- 35:56Speaker 2: to say on MSNBC, And you didn't obviously, I don't
- 35:59Speaker 2: think anyone thought that this was actually going to happen
- 36:03Speaker 2: or be a controversy when you were doing your response.
- 36:05Speaker 2: But the biggest controversy from his whole night is actually
- 36:08Speaker 2: now this Take a listen.
- 36:09Speaker 5: Noticed the look of surprise on your face when you
- 36:11Speaker 5: walked into the chamber and you saw Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Green.
- 36:16Speaker 5: It was priceless. You feigned shop at seeing her. But
- 36:19Speaker 5: during your response to her heckling of you, you use
- 36:23Speaker 5: the word illegal when talking about the man who allegedly
- 36:26Speaker 5: killed Riley.
- 36:28Speaker 6: An undocumented person. And I shouldn't have used the legal
- 36:32Speaker 6: as undocumented. And look, when I spoke about the difference
- 36:35Speaker 6: between Trump and me, one of the things I talked
- 36:37Speaker 6: about on the border was that his the way he
- 36:40Speaker 6: talks about vermin, the way he talks about these people
- 36:42Speaker 6: polluting the blood. I talked about what I'm not going
- 36:45Speaker 6: to do, what I won't do. I'm not going to
- 36:47Speaker 6: treat any of these people with disrespect. Look, they've built
- 36:51Speaker 6: the country, the reason our economy is growing. We have
- 36:54Speaker 6: to control the border and more orderly slow. But I
- 36:58Speaker 6: don't share to you at all.
- 37:00Speaker 5: So you regret using that word.
- 37:01Speaker 1: Yes, I regret using that word.
- 37:04Speaker 2: I'm sorry basically to the illegal immigrant for saying he's
- 37:07Speaker 2: a legal immigrant, not talking about Blake and Riley. No
- 37:10Speaker 2: one could have seen that coming and that was something
- 37:13Speaker 2: you didn't even get a chance to bring up because
- 37:15Speaker 2: it hadn't in essence happened.
- 37:16Speaker 4: Yet that's exactly right, And I mean, I still can't
- 37:21Speaker 4: rep my head around this. You have him apologizing for
- 37:27Speaker 4: quote mislabeling her murderer, but not only did he not
- 37:34Speaker 4: take that opportunity to correct her name, but the reporter
- 37:38Speaker 4: didn't even ask him. I mean, think about that, Ted,
- 37:41Speaker 4: This shows they have an agenda. They don't care about
- 37:46Speaker 4: the things that they should.
- 37:48Speaker 3: Yeah. So that interview is Jonathan k Part It's on
- 37:51Speaker 3: an MSNBC, and that exchange, it makes my blood boil.
- 37:56Speaker 3: Number one, his little aside saying they built this country.
- 38:00Speaker 3: You know, Joe, illegal immigrants did not build the United
- 38:02Speaker 3: States of America. That is utter and complete garbage. But
- 38:07Speaker 3: number two, think about the priorities he comes off of.
- 38:12Speaker 3: And I gotta say, I think there are now two
- 38:14Speaker 3: images that sum up the twenty twenty four election. Number one,
- 38:20Speaker 3: there is the image of the illegal immigrants in New
- 38:22Speaker 3: York City who beat up two New York cops, were arrested,
- 38:25Speaker 3: were released without bail, and they came out with both
- 38:28Speaker 3: hands flipping the bird at everyone. And that image flipping
- 38:33Speaker 3: the bird right and left hand is what Joe Biden
- 38:37Speaker 3: and the Democrats are saying to the American people. That's
- 38:39Speaker 3: image number one. And image number two is the contrast
- 38:42Speaker 3: right after the State of the Union of Donald Trump
- 38:46Speaker 3: with Lake and Riley's family hugging his mother binga, which
- 38:49Speaker 3: is actually what someone who's a president who gives a
- 38:52Speaker 3: damn about the American people who like is siding with
- 38:57Speaker 3: our families, our moms, our kids. And simultaneously, Joe Biden
- 39:02Speaker 3: is on MSNBC apologizing because he referred to this murderer
- 39:08Speaker 3: as an illegal. Well, you know what, he is an illegal.
- 39:11Speaker 3: He's an illegal and a murderer. And he never should
- 39:14Speaker 3: have killed Lake and Riley. Look at me now, I'm
- 39:16Speaker 3: using Joe Biden's phrase. He never should have killed Lake
- 39:19Speaker 3: and Riley. And the only reason he was free to
- 39:22Speaker 3: do so is because Joe Biden chose to let him go.
- 39:25Speaker 3: And not only that, Sanctuary City, New York City let
- 39:28Speaker 3: him go again. And that is why that beautiful twenty
- 39:31Speaker 3: two year old woman is dead.
- 39:32Speaker 4: Now, that's it. And tierwake when you hear him do that,
- 39:36Speaker 4: and you can't help but be enraged that not only
- 39:41Speaker 4: that this is what our President of the United States
- 39:43Speaker 4: is choosing to focus on. But then the media doesn't
- 39:45Speaker 4: hold him accountable. But I think people should see we
- 39:48Speaker 4: have a very clear choice in November. And this says
- 39:52Speaker 4: it all. You said it Ted. You have President Biden
- 39:57Speaker 4: over here apologizing for mislabeling her murder, and then you
- 40:01Speaker 4: have President Trump embracing her family, And I think that
- 40:05Speaker 4: is all Americans need to know.
- 40:07Speaker 3: The choices clear, and that's your choice. And if you
- 40:12Speaker 3: side with illegal alien murderers, well you probably should vote
- 40:16Speaker 3: for Joe Biden if those are your peeps, if that's
- 40:18Speaker 3: where your allegiance is. By the way, MSNBC, CNN, they're
- 40:22Speaker 3: all voting for Joe Biden because their allegiance is actually
- 40:24Speaker 3: with illegal alien murderers. And by the way, you know,
- 40:28Speaker 3: not only did Joe Biden not properly say lake In
- 40:32Speaker 3: Riley's name, he didn't say Jeremy Cassarras's name either. Jeremy Cassarras,
- 40:35Speaker 3: beautiful two year old boy murdered in Prince George's County, Maryland,
- 40:39Speaker 3: just a couple of weeks ago, again by another illegal alien.
- 40:43Speaker 3: Joe Biden released he didn't mention any of the of
- 40:46Speaker 3: the American of the teenagers who have been violently raped
- 40:49Speaker 3: by illegal immigrants. He takes no responsibility for his own culpability.
- 40:54Speaker 3: And it is you really couldn't ask for a clear contrast.
- 40:58Speaker 4: No, you couldn't. And then also you think about a
- 41:00Speaker 4: poisonings and you think about the decisions that have been made,
- 41:02Speaker 4: they are all his. He inherited the most secure border
- 41:05Speaker 4: that our country has had, and then he chose to
- 41:08Speaker 4: halt deportations, he chose to stop construction of the border wall.
- 41:13Speaker 4: He I mean, he chose to say I'm going to
- 41:15Speaker 4: give amnesty to millions. This is the thing that was
- 41:18Speaker 4: so frustrating about the liberal media. It's like, these policies
- 41:21Speaker 4: and then the ninety four executive orders in the first
- 41:23Speaker 4: one hundred days are acting as magnets ted. He is saying,
- 41:27Speaker 4: come on, and he is putting every one of those men,
- 41:30Speaker 4: women and children in harm's way. Their cartels are using
- 41:34Speaker 4: them in multiple ways. You know, we've talked about some
- 41:37Speaker 4: of the horrific things that are happening to them on
- 41:39Speaker 4: their way here. When they get here, it is mind boggling.
- 41:43Speaker 4: It is a not only national security crisis, but a
- 41:46Speaker 4: humanitarian crisis that no reporter is telling you know, and
- 41:50Speaker 4: they're choosing you focused. Earlier, you said you know about
- 41:53Speaker 4: about sex trafficking. They're not telling the story of human
- 41:57Speaker 4: trafficking and what's happening under him.
- 41:59Speaker 3: Well and I have both looked in the eyes of
- 42:02Speaker 3: women and children who have been brutally sexually assaulted by
- 42:07Speaker 3: these human traffickers. And when you when you see the pain,
- 42:11Speaker 3: the agony, it sticks with you. It haunts you absolutely.
- 42:16Speaker 3: And this is happening day after day after day. And
- 42:18Speaker 3: I got to say, you know, Katie, just listening to
- 42:20Speaker 3: your talk about this, you're making far too much sense.
- 42:24Speaker 3: What you said is incredibly reasonable, so that means necessarily
- 42:27Speaker 3: you're crazy. I'm sorry, but those are the rules, right hey,
- 42:30Speaker 3: And if you're making sense, I guess you gotta be.
- 42:33Speaker 3: Cuckoos focus, you gotta be.
- 42:35Speaker 4: And I guess you know when you get in the arena,
- 42:37Speaker 4: which the irony is. In my remarks, you know, I
- 42:41Speaker 4: wanted to leave people with hope ted because I believe
- 42:45Speaker 4: that I believe in the people of this nation, and
- 42:49Speaker 4: I believe in what we're built on, and wanted to
- 42:54Speaker 4: encourage everyone to get in the arena because that's what
- 42:56Speaker 4: we need them to do because we are literally fighting
- 42:59Speaker 4: for the heart and soulivar nation. We are fighting for
- 43:02Speaker 4: the future for our children, and we need everybody stepping up.
- 43:05Speaker 4: So I said, you know, get in the arena. Well,
- 43:07Speaker 4: I found out real quick that I am in the arena.
- 43:10Speaker 4: And when you're in the arena, you get arrows. But
- 43:13Speaker 4: it's worth it. If you're fighting for what families need,
- 43:16Speaker 4: you're being a voice for the voiceless. Amen, then I'll
- 43:20Speaker 4: take those arrows head all day long, because that is
- 43:25Speaker 4: what we're going to have to do in order to
- 43:27Speaker 4: get this country back on track and speak truth to power.
- 43:31Speaker 4: And we found out where the power is. It's in
- 43:33Speaker 4: the media, and they want to silence anyone who doesn't
- 43:35Speaker 4: think just like them.
- 43:37Speaker 3: And to use a military analogy, if you're not taking flak,
- 43:41Speaker 3: you're not over the target.
- 43:42Speaker 4: There you go.
- 43:43Speaker 3: There is a reason they're coming after you, and they
- 43:46Speaker 3: tell you who they're afraid of. So I would take
- 43:49Speaker 3: I was actually I thought you did a terrific job,
- 43:52Speaker 3: But I was actually even happier with the job you
- 43:55Speaker 3: did by seeing the freak out of the media, because
- 43:59Speaker 3: to be honest, if you'd sucked, they wouldn't said anything.
- 44:02Speaker 3: If it were bad, they would have been like nothing
- 44:04Speaker 3: to see here, And so that they squeal this loudly
- 44:08Speaker 3: tells you a great deal.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Well, and I do think you've got here. You have
- 44:12Speaker 4: the president literally for an hour and seven minutes, I
- 44:15Speaker 4: guess is what you said. It was yelling and giving
- 44:19Speaker 4: a political speech in a space where he's supposed to
- 44:21Speaker 4: be bringing our country together. And then you know, even
- 44:27Speaker 4: you know, as I mentioned, tried to leave the country
- 44:29Speaker 4: with hope because I believe in our nation, and I said,
- 44:33Speaker 4: our nation's history is written with the gritten, the grit
- 44:37Speaker 4: of men and women who got knocked down. But we
- 44:39Speaker 4: know their stories because they did not stay down. We
- 44:42Speaker 4: are here because they stood back up. And this is
- 44:47Speaker 4: one of those moments where I'm just gonna have to
- 44:49Speaker 4: stand back up because this fight is worth fighting, and
- 44:53Speaker 4: we have got Every voice has got to be lifted
- 44:55Speaker 4: loud because there are people that are counting on us,
- 44:58Speaker 4: whether it is what's happening at our border, whether it
- 45:01Speaker 4: is families that literally cannot make ends meet. I don't
- 45:04Speaker 4: think and I said this in my remarks as well,
- 45:06Speaker 4: but I mean I actually drove carpool the day that
- 45:10Speaker 4: I gave the state of the union response. So I
- 45:13Speaker 4: was in that.
- 45:15Speaker 3: Is so awesome. Right, Well, you know, actually you and
- 45:18Speaker 3: Biden have something in common because he was actually hanging
- 45:21Speaker 3: outside of a junior high.
- 45:22Speaker 1: That day too. Oh I need it.
- 45:25Speaker 3: I'm going to get in trouble with that comment that
- 45:27Speaker 3: that one man am I allowed to say that.
- 45:31Speaker 1: I don't know. We'll find out. That's that's your headline, right.
- 45:36Speaker 3: So you really drove carpool that day.
- 45:37Speaker 4: That that is actually very literally drove carpool.
- 45:40Speaker 3: You are from school or both?
- 45:41Speaker 4: Both?
- 45:42Speaker 3: Both?
- 45:42Speaker 4: I did both. And so when I was in pickup line,
- 45:45Speaker 4: actually the head of the middle school was like, what
- 45:48Speaker 4: are you doing? She had the little you know, the
- 45:51Speaker 4: little walkie talkie and she you know, was and I said,
- 45:54Speaker 4: I need you know, I need bridgeway, and she was like,
- 45:56Speaker 4: what are you doing. I was like, I'm running carpool.
- 46:00Speaker 4: So ran carpool, did all the things. But you think about, like,
- 46:03Speaker 4: when's the last time he did something like that. When's
- 46:05Speaker 4: the last time he went to the grocery store and
- 46:07Speaker 4: saw that eggs are like off the charts and the
- 46:10Speaker 4: price of meat and milk and all of the things,
- 46:12Speaker 4: And when's the last time he went and filled up
- 46:14Speaker 4: his car with gas, because I promise you, it just
- 46:17Speaker 4: gets more and more and more, and you think this
- 46:19Speaker 4: man is trying to make us energy.
- 46:22Speaker 3: That's not fair. He went to the store and he
- 46:25Speaker 3: brought bought buttermilk and molasses from corn Pop.
- 46:28Speaker 4: Oh you know what.
- 46:30Speaker 3: And so so he understands.
- 46:32Speaker 4: I think you maybe went to something or maybe when
- 46:35Speaker 4: he went to his beach retreat, he had someone run
- 46:37Speaker 4: to the store for him. But seriously, you know, and
- 46:40Speaker 4: you think about and I you know, when I go
- 46:42Speaker 4: walking with my friends in the morning and I listened
- 46:45Speaker 4: to the things they're concerned about. You know, this is
- 46:48Speaker 4: what people want a voice to. And so if bringing
- 46:51Speaker 4: a voice to that, if I get some flak for it,
- 46:54Speaker 4: and you know, obviously you know, gave passionate remarks. I
- 47:01Speaker 4: think that there was.
- 47:01Speaker 1: Never apologize for being passionate. That's for sure.
- 47:04Speaker 4: That's right. It's like it's worth it, you know, it's
- 47:07Speaker 4: worth it. The people are worth it, worth fighting for
- 47:09Speaker 4: and I'm gonna keep doing it. And the hey and
- 47:11Speaker 4: the more they try to silence me, which by the way,
- 47:13Speaker 4: they're doing quite a bit right now. It's I had
- 47:16Speaker 4: to give a speech this morning, Ted, and I walk
- 47:18Speaker 4: up there, and you can tell everybody is just kind
- 47:20Speaker 4: of like on edge, right because they're thinking, she has
- 47:23Speaker 4: just been plummeted for the last solid four days and
- 47:28Speaker 4: we've seen her in a number of memes and this
- 47:31Speaker 4: and that, and I think, you know, the scary mom
- 47:35Speaker 4: one was also a good one because I thought, you
- 47:37Speaker 4: know what that means. They really are afraid, because everybody
- 47:40Speaker 4: knows when your mom goes into scary mom mode, like
- 47:43Speaker 4: get out of the way, yeah, because stuff's about to
- 47:45Speaker 4: get done.
- 47:47Speaker 3: Do you know it? I know exactly.
- 47:49Speaker 4: I mean, just don't move over because we're about to
- 47:52Speaker 4: take care of business. Right.
- 47:54Speaker 3: Look, and you know what, there are a lot of
- 47:56Speaker 3: moms in America who are pissed off at everything that's happened.
- 48:00Speaker 3: And you gave voice to that. And it wasn't the angry,
- 48:05Speaker 3: bitter way that Biden did it, but it was if
- 48:08Speaker 3: you're paying attention, you ought to be upset. Listen, if
- 48:12Speaker 3: you were Lake and Riley's mom exactly, Like, imagine number one,
- 48:17Speaker 3: the grief and agony you feel, but imagine the fury
- 48:20Speaker 3: you feel that this was unnecessary and it's a result
- 48:24Speaker 3: of a political agenda that said your family doesn't matter
- 48:29Speaker 3: and by the way, the next person murdered by an
- 48:32Speaker 3: illegal alien that Joe Biden lets in, they're gonna feel
- 48:35Speaker 3: the same way. So they keep they keep doing this.
- 48:38Speaker 4: And that's not who he's apologizing to. And it made
- 48:40Speaker 4: me so mad. He stood up there and flippantly said,
- 48:43Speaker 4: that set her name wrong, you know it, just it.
- 48:46Speaker 4: I thought you have got as a mom.
- 48:49Speaker 3: And by the way, his response, he said, well, she
- 48:51Speaker 3: was killed by an illegal, but how many are killed
- 48:54Speaker 3: by legals? Now what does that mean? And of course
- 48:57Speaker 3: MSNBC didn't ask about that. Oh, how many are killed
- 49:00Speaker 3: by legals? So what you're saying is that your crime
- 49:02Speaker 3: policy is terrible. Also, and there's lots of murders. Yeah,
- 49:05Speaker 3: I agree with that, also that but that's not much
- 49:08Speaker 3: of a defense. Well, gosh, we're killing even more Americans
- 49:11Speaker 3: that that is, And of course no scrutiny from the
- 49:15Speaker 3: corporate media on anything.
- 49:16Speaker 4: And he also he's killing the American dream because he's
- 49:20Speaker 4: continuing to put Americans last. And we only thing we
- 49:24Speaker 4: can ask for is an opportunity to achieve, opportunity to
- 49:28Speaker 4: try and fail. And you look at him and he
- 49:31Speaker 4: continues to put policies in place that limit anyone's ability
- 49:36Speaker 4: to try and achieve because he's prioritizing a liberal agenda
- 49:43Speaker 4: above above that. I mean it's everything from energy to
- 49:47Speaker 4: the border to prices. I mean that's one thing. Ted Like,
- 49:50Speaker 4: I'm on the Banking Committee and I cannot believe the
- 49:55Speaker 4: agenda in the financial sector, I mean all of the
- 49:59Speaker 4: es and the I mean it just it is tremendous.
- 50:02Speaker 4: So I feel like at every turn we are having
- 50:05Speaker 4: to fight to preserve what I know this nation was
- 50:08Speaker 4: founded on and to try to preserve it for our kids,
- 50:11Speaker 4: and it's worth it. So so I had a little
- 50:14Speaker 4: fun with it. Like I said, this morning, when I
- 50:15Speaker 4: got up to give those remarks, everyone was on edge
- 50:18Speaker 4: and I said, hey, guys, I haven't haven't had access
- 50:23Speaker 4: to Twitter. Is there anything going on that I need
- 50:26Speaker 4: to know about? And the whole the whole crowd, whole
- 50:29Speaker 4: crowd started started laughing. But have had a little bit
- 50:32Speaker 4: of fun with that.
- 50:32Speaker 3: But after it gets you through everything, it does.
- 50:34Speaker 4: It does, it absolutely does.
- 50:36Speaker 1: So Senator, thank you so much for coming on verdict it.
- 50:39Speaker 2: We're really fun to hear this outside in different perspective
- 50:42Speaker 2: from you and and and here behind the scenes of
- 50:45Speaker 2: how this happens, and the response happens, and keep up
- 50:48Speaker 2: the good fight. I love your passion, I love your
- 50:51Speaker 2: inspiration for young girls and women who are conservative and
- 50:56Speaker 2: proud moms. That is I think the most important thing
- 50:58Speaker 2: here is that you know. I think the left has
- 51:00Speaker 2: done a great job of claiming feminism and claiming women voters,
- 51:04Speaker 2: and sometimes we don't do a good enough job. I
- 51:07Speaker 2: think of reminding moms like, hey, we're here for you,
- 51:09Speaker 2: We're supporting you, We're advocating for you and your kids
- 51:14Speaker 2: and the laws that we can advocate for to protect
- 51:16Speaker 2: your kids. So thank you for being a voice for
- 51:19Speaker 2: that as well. There were so many moms that were watching.
- 51:21Speaker 2: I know that we're very, very proud of you.
- 51:23Speaker 4: Thank you. It was certainly an honor, Like I like
- 51:28Speaker 4: I said when I spoke to them, when they ask,
- 51:30Speaker 4: I mean, it is humbling to have the opportunity to
- 51:34Speaker 4: speak on behalf of our party and on behalf of
- 51:37Speaker 4: hard working parents and families who want somebody to fight
- 51:43Speaker 4: for them and fight for this country and fight for
- 51:45Speaker 4: the issues that matter. And so we got in there
- 51:49Speaker 4: and gave it all. I got. Hey, I would recommend
- 51:51Speaker 4: if you're ever giving a speech, direct to camera. You know,
- 51:54Speaker 4: figure out how that works live. It's a lot, but
- 51:59Speaker 4: loved it and and actually I have it's an honor
- 52:04Speaker 4: to take the arrows too, because that means that we
- 52:06Speaker 4: are right on the issues. There. You notice they're not
- 52:11Speaker 4: they are not plummeting me on the issues that that
- 52:15Speaker 4: I talked about. They're they're going after my passion. And
- 52:20Speaker 4: I'm going to keep that passion. I'm going to keep
- 52:22Speaker 4: fighting for what I know is right and what I
- 52:25Speaker 4: believe in. And Ted, I'll say to you, it is
- 52:28Speaker 4: an honor to fight alongside you. There is nobody who
- 52:33Speaker 4: is better at at being fierce and calling the left
- 52:36Speaker 4: down and speaking the truth directly in the way that
- 52:40Speaker 4: you do. And so enjoy serving with you, enjoy learning
- 52:43Speaker 4: from you, and certainly enjoyed the grace you showed me
- 52:47Speaker 4: by allowing me to be on here tonight and talk
- 52:49Speaker 4: about this is super fun few days I've had.
- 52:53Speaker 3: Well, this has been a blast. Thank you for joining us,
- 52:55Speaker 3: and it's it's a lot of fun to serve with
- 52:57Speaker 3: you as well. And I look forward to being in
- 52:59Speaker 3: many foxhole for a long long time, fighting for our
- 53:02Speaker 3: country and fighting with a smile and with joy and
- 53:07Speaker 3: fighting back against the lunatics who are trying to take
- 53:09Speaker 3: our country down.
