- 0:00Speaker 1: Today's show is pre recorded. Y'all know what time y'all
- 0:05Speaker 1: don't know. Y'all have a sun giving them like the
- 0:15Speaker 1: million bucks things. And it's to me through good listening
- 0:24Speaker 1: to the other to please I don't join join me.
- 0:58Speaker 1: You turn you you gotta turn to turn out. You
- 1:43Speaker 1: haven't got to turn out to turn the water. The
- 1:47Speaker 1: water got me. Come come on your baby, huh. I sure,
- 2:02Speaker 1: well a good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice,
- 2:07Speaker 1: come on dig me now, one and only. It is
- 2:11Speaker 1: Steve Harvey. Yeah, I got a radio show. Okay, this
- 2:17Speaker 1: is timely for everybody. I'm sure I want to offer
- 2:24Speaker 1: you all or some encouragement because everybody needed. Let me
- 2:32Speaker 1: tell you something. You strike out on your goals, you
- 2:36Speaker 1: strike out on your aspirations, and so you strike out,
- 2:42Speaker 1: as it happens to all of us. Here it comes life.
- 2:49Speaker 1: Life just hits one of them bad notes, as it
- 2:53Speaker 1: always does, as it always does for all of us,
- 2:58Speaker 1: for everybody. Now when those bad notes happen, when the
- 3:05Speaker 1: haters come out of nowhere, when the setback comes up,
- 3:09Speaker 1: when when the out of nowhere appears, when I didn't
- 3:13Speaker 1: see that coming comes, Here's here's what you have to do.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Here is the thing that I have been teaching myself
- 3:23Speaker 1: for years that I used to not always understand, so
- 3:28Speaker 1: I'm trying to give it to you. You have to
- 3:33Speaker 1: be encouraged anyway. Now that's difficult, Okay, Steve, what you're
- 3:37Speaker 1: talking about? You just told me all this discouraging stuff
- 3:41Speaker 1: that can happen, and you said you got to be
- 3:43Speaker 1: encouraged anyway. Yeah, man, you have to, because what's happening
- 3:51Speaker 1: to you right now, the thing that you're going through
- 3:54Speaker 1: right now, the thing that everybody's going through right now.
- 3:58Speaker 1: Ain't nobody don't smooth selling. Man. Everybody got something and
- 4:03Speaker 1: if they, if they don't smooth sailing, just notice is coming.
- 4:06Speaker 1: There's nothing I'm wishing on anybody. It's just that this
- 4:09Speaker 1: is life. This is how it happens everybody, So please
- 4:13Speaker 1: stop stop getting on the old woe is Me bandwagon?
- 4:16Speaker 1: Old Lord? Why met old Lord? Something always happened to me,
- 4:21Speaker 1: something always happens to everybody. But here's what you got
- 4:27Speaker 1: to do. When you get in moments like this, you
- 4:29Speaker 1: got to be encouraged. You got to remember in those times,
- 4:34Speaker 1: in those times when it's going wrong, you got to
- 4:37Speaker 1: remember all that you've been through. You got to remember
- 4:43Speaker 1: all that you've come through. You have to remember those
- 4:49Speaker 1: other times when you felt like this, and somehow, unexplainably
- 4:54Speaker 1: you don't even really stop to say nothing about it.
- 4:57Speaker 1: It just changed for you. And the problem that walls
- 5:01Speaker 1: is no more. And the situation that seems so insurmountable,
- 5:07Speaker 1: you got over it, You got around it, you got
- 5:11Speaker 1: over it. Sometimes you just got to slide right under it.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Sometimes you got to plow through it. But in those
- 5:22Speaker 1: times when it's discouraging for you, when you feel like
- 5:26Speaker 1: giving up, those are the test. Those are the moments
- 5:33Speaker 1: that will determine whether we make it or not. I'll
- 5:38Speaker 1: tell you one thing for sure. If you give up
- 5:41Speaker 1: in these moments right here here is a foreshow you'll
- 5:44Speaker 1: never make it. That that's that's unquestionably the deal. If
- 5:50Speaker 1: you give up in these dark times, if you give
- 5:54Speaker 1: up in these what you think is insurmountable moments, if
- 5:59Speaker 1: you turn back now here is the one thousand percent
- 6:03Speaker 1: for shure, you ain't gonna make it. But there's a
- 6:07Speaker 1: bright side to this situation. If you keep your head down,
- 6:13Speaker 1: if you keep forging, if you keep pressing on. Sometimes
- 6:18Speaker 1: if you just stand there and sometimes get knocked to
- 6:21Speaker 1: your knees. But if you stay in that place, if
- 6:25Speaker 1: you just stay there and ride the storm out, my
- 6:28Speaker 1: head is bloodied but unbowed. If you can just stay there,
- 6:36Speaker 1: if you consider in that moment and ride it out,
- 6:43Speaker 1: you will win. You will pass the test, and you
- 6:47Speaker 1: will get to move on to the next level. But
- 6:51Speaker 1: there is no next level without a test. You can't
- 6:55Speaker 1: get to grade six without passing grade five. You can't
- 6:59Speaker 1: be your senior without first being a junior. You can't
- 7:04Speaker 1: graduate without fulfilling the hours and requirements. You see, I
- 7:10Speaker 1: don't care what you do in life. Look at it.
- 7:13Speaker 1: It's all set up on levels for You've got to
- 7:16Speaker 1: accomplish the thing before in order to get to the
- 7:19Speaker 1: next level. And when you've made those level accomplishments, you
- 7:23Speaker 1: get to graduate that you can go on to get
- 7:25Speaker 1: the masters in a PhD. You can go on and
- 7:28Speaker 1: become rich, you can go become wealthy, or you can
- 7:31Speaker 1: go or you can go somewhere and think yourself in
- 7:33Speaker 1: another set of circumstances. But you got to go through
- 7:36Speaker 1: something to get to something. There ain't nothing free. So
- 7:40Speaker 1: you can stop that notion about being successful that is easy.
- 7:44Speaker 1: Come on. Man, if it was easy, what we what
- 7:48Speaker 1: we're talking about. It is not easy. Stop thinking it is.
- 7:53Speaker 1: It is difficult. But I'll tell you what's even more
- 7:56Speaker 1: difficult than becoming successful. You want to know what that is,
- 8:01Speaker 1: Try not being successful your whole life. That's hard. You
- 8:06Speaker 1: are listening to a person who has done them both
- 8:11Speaker 1: been successful and really really been not successful. And I
- 8:17Speaker 1: got news for you. Both of them hard. But I
- 8:21Speaker 1: would rather deal with what it is to be something,
- 8:24Speaker 1: to make something out of myself, to force myself to
- 8:27Speaker 1: go to work when I don't feel like it. This
- 8:29Speaker 1: morning was a rough get up for me, but I
- 8:32Speaker 1: got up and I said thank you anyway. Never give up,
- 8:36Speaker 1: And I don't watch this dude too. He to mess
- 8:38Speaker 1: around and got close to me because he just never
- 8:40Speaker 1: gave up. You can never ever give up. Never. It's
- 8:46Speaker 1: not an option. Giving up cannot be an option for you.
- 8:51Speaker 1: You cannot do that. It's out of the question. It's
- 8:55Speaker 1: in'tconceivable in your mind to quit, because to quit, it's
- 8:59Speaker 1: to watch what you get when you quit nothing. That
- 9:04Speaker 1: is a reward for those who hang in there, who
- 9:07Speaker 1: never give up, who forged through, who see it through,
- 9:11Speaker 1: who get knocked down and get back up. Who gets
- 9:14Speaker 1: trampled but somehow gathers themselves and get back to your knees.
- 9:19Speaker 1: But stay in that place, man, don't ever give up.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Don't let go be encouraged. Think of all you've been through,
- 9:25Speaker 1: Think of all you come through. Think of all he's
- 9:27Speaker 1: done for you. Think of all the times you thought
- 9:30Speaker 1: you wasn't gonna make it, but somehow, without you ever
- 9:32Speaker 1: even saying thank you, he got through. He got you
- 9:35Speaker 1: through it. Anyway. That's that thing called grace. Now we
- 9:38Speaker 1: kind of need that in our life. All I need
- 9:42Speaker 1: is a little more grace. You can't give God no
- 9:46Speaker 1: money for grace, man. Grace is absolutely free. It's available
- 9:49Speaker 1: to everybody, but you can't get none if you quit.
- 9:53Speaker 1: Don't give up. I'll just tell you that flat out.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Don't ever give up. You're listening, coming in Salt, coming
- 10:03Speaker 1: in sexy, coming in pretty. It's that nephew, that sexy nephew. Okay, Yes,

- 16:14Speaker 1: I ain't know nothing about nor the breast in plants. Okay,
- 16:17Speaker 1: you might not know nothing about it. But the bottom
- 16:18Speaker 1: line is I spend ten thousand dollars or some breasting plants,

- 28:08Speaker 1: all right, all right, um, moving on, last one guy,
- 28:12Speaker 1: he can get some chilly go ahead. I'm moving on
- 28:16Speaker 1: to Marcus in Nashville. Marcus says, I'm forty nine and

- 28:23Speaker 1: I've been focused NonStop. I'm providing a good life for
- 28:26Speaker 1: my family. My wife says she needs a break from
- 28:29Speaker 1: me and our kids. So she's going on a vacation
- 28:31Speaker 1: by herself. I've done because I've never needed a break
- 28:35Speaker 1: from her. Why does she need to be alone? Well,
- 28:39Speaker 1: let me tell you this. I don't know why she
- 28:40Speaker 1: need to be alone. It's probably you. But let me
- 28:42Speaker 1: tell you it's been to happen on that weekend. Does
- 28:44Speaker 1: she leave? It's going down? What's going down? What everything
- 28:49Speaker 1: she beends to do? It? Calla what? What? What? Man?
- 28:56Speaker 1: You're saying, she's gonna be with a man? Don't meet
- 28:58Speaker 1: somebody now? Or somebody gonna meet hard hel she gonna

- 29:09Speaker 1: health break. Yeah, I'm all right, Thank you guys. Coming
- 29:18Speaker 1: up next it is at the top of the hour.
- 29:20Speaker 1: Some entertainment news for you. Right after this, you can
- 29:22Speaker 1: go to your mama house with self kill. You ain't
- 29:24Speaker 1: got to go way out. You're listening show. We've all
- 29:33Speaker 1: seen the picture of Kanye West and right wing activist
- 29:37Speaker 1: political activist Candice owens they were both rocking White Live
- 29:40Speaker 1: Matter T shirts at his Easy fashion show in Paris. Now,
- 29:46Speaker 1: in response to the picture, black Lives Matter movement is
- 29:49Speaker 1: going after Kanye, saying it's nothing but a stunt to
- 29:52Speaker 1: her folks fighting for justice. In a released statement, black
- 29:55Speaker 1: Lives Matter said, um, while some may see Kanye and can'
- 30:00Speaker 1: it's a stunt as a distraction, we recognize that it
- 30:03Speaker 1: harms thousands of families fighting for justice for their loved
- 30:06Speaker 1: ones killed by state sanctioned violence. Kanye says he wore
- 30:11Speaker 1: the White Lives Matter T shirt at his fashion show
- 30:13Speaker 1: because he thinks Black Lives Matter was a quote scam. Wow,
- 30:19Speaker 1: he just can't get him stupid to te Yeah, I'm
- 30:24Speaker 1: tired of talking about him. I really am. I'm dead.
- 30:27Speaker 1: I'm not giving him the more chances. I'm not. He
- 30:29Speaker 1: not getting the more for me. That's it, and that's
- 30:30Speaker 1: what happens. We keep giving him chances, we keep talking
- 30:34Speaker 1: to him and listening to him. Yeah, it's insulting for him.
- 30:39Speaker 1: It is shirt. It is sulting and I cannot believe
- 30:44Speaker 1: that he wore that shirt. And I can't this. Some
- 30:46Speaker 1: one I could care less. Yeah, and we can believe. Yes,
- 30:52Speaker 1: I'm not shocked about her. But Kanye, come on, come on,
- 30:56Speaker 1: come on this Yeah, it's disappointing. It's it's but like
- 30:59Speaker 1: he's attention, very much so attention and you know this
- 31:05Speaker 1: whole it's we never said. No one has ever said
- 31:08Speaker 1: that white lives matter, white lives didn't matter, No one
- 31:11Speaker 1: has ever said that. All we said is black lives matter.
- 31:16Speaker 1: That's what we as a people have said because we
- 31:18Speaker 1: were the ones being gunned down, shot and killed, you
- 31:21Speaker 1: know before America's very eyes, you know, and that's all. Yeah,
- 31:26Speaker 1: and that's all it's been. Yeah, Tommy, all lives matter.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Absolutely they did. But I want to say this, a
- 31:35Speaker 1: good black ass whooping would matter, mole. If we can
- 31:38Speaker 1: just give Kanye to whopping that beam black ass whopping,
- 31:46Speaker 1: we just need it bad that he needed good baw.
- 31:51Speaker 1: He does well. And it goes back to what we
- 31:54Speaker 1: were saying too well, what Shirley was saying with black
- 31:56Speaker 1: lives matter, all we were saying was don't It's like
- 32:02Speaker 1: when you kill us and you shoot us, we're saying,
- 32:04Speaker 1: don't kill and shoot us like you don't do them.
- 32:07Speaker 1: We're not telling you to do that. We're saying, don't
- 32:11Speaker 1: kill us, like you don't kill them. That's what black
- 32:13Speaker 1: lives matter, That's what it means, that's what right. That's
- 32:17Speaker 1: killing us. Stop killing us. You don't kill them. Don't
- 32:21Speaker 1: kill usus for just a minor traffic stop, you know,
- 32:25Speaker 1: you stop someone black person in a car. Yeah, and
- 32:28Speaker 1: there still and it were still and we're still seeing it.
- 32:32Speaker 1: I mean, I was looking on social media to day.
- 32:34Speaker 1: I'm looking at a kid that did something wrong in
- 32:37Speaker 1: school and I'm watching police officers come up and just
- 32:40Speaker 1: oh my god, what they are doing. The amount, the
- 32:44Speaker 1: limit that they go to is is crazy. Man. But
- 32:48Speaker 1: Drell drugged this kid down the bleachers, pepper spray, I
- 32:51Speaker 1: mean everything, And I'm like, oh my god, they're gonna
- 32:53Speaker 1: kill it. Yeah yeah, yeah. So Kanye, you're wrong for this.
- 32:57Speaker 1: You're you're wrong for this. You are wrong for his
- 33:00Speaker 1: name marries him, Yeah all right, herschell Walker also in
- 33:07Speaker 1: the news. Yeah, he's of course, a Republican Senate candidate
- 33:11Speaker 1: in Georgia. Walker has come under fire by his own son,
- 33:14Speaker 1: Christian Walker, in a series of tweets. The Daily Beast
- 33:18Speaker 1: recently ran a story about a woman who claimed that
- 33:20Speaker 1: herschel Walker got her pregnant in two thousand and nine
- 33:23Speaker 1: and then paid for her to have an abortion. Christian
- 33:26Speaker 1: his son tweeted, I know my mom and I would
- 33:30Speaker 1: really appreciate if my father herschel Walker stopped lying and
- 33:34Speaker 1: making a mockery of us. You're not a family man.
- 33:37Speaker 1: When you left us to bang a bunch of women,
- 33:40Speaker 1: threatened to kill us, and had us move over six
- 33:43Speaker 1: times in six months running from your violence. Yeah, he continued,
- 33:47Speaker 1: I don't care about someone who has had bad past
- 33:50Speaker 1: and who's had a bad past and takes accountability. But
- 33:54Speaker 1: how dare you lie in act as though you're some
- 33:56Speaker 1: moral Christian upright man. You've lived a life of destroying
- 34:01Speaker 1: other people's lives. How dare you you? Huh herschel Oh yeah, goodness.
- 34:11Speaker 1: You know there are a bunch of commercials in Georgia,
- 34:16Speaker 1: and you know one of them is his ex wife
- 34:18Speaker 1: saying that he put a gun to her head, and
- 34:21Speaker 1: you know, oh my god. Yeah. Yeah, but he wants
- 34:26Speaker 1: to run for senator. Yeah, he's running against Senator Senator
- 34:31Speaker 1: Rafael Warnock. Yeah, from Georgia to get out of voting. Yeah,
- 34:36Speaker 1: we have to, we have to. I want to send
- 34:38Speaker 1: Herschel a nice bouquet of cotton. You know what I'm saying,
- 34:44Speaker 1: bouquet of cotton. You know what I'm saying. I mean that.
- 34:47Speaker 1: Don't that make sense? Though? It makes sense though. Oh
- 34:50Speaker 1: and by the way, uh, the debate between Senator Rafael
- 34:54Speaker 1: Warnock and Herschel Walker, it was scheduled for next week
- 34:58Speaker 1: and making verse they weren't going to debate, then they
- 35:00Speaker 1: scheduled a debate. Well, now that debate has been canceled. Yeah,
- 35:05Speaker 1: bet it has, Yeah, yeah it has. Yeah. And finally,
- 35:11Speaker 1: this story is really weird. In entertainment news R and
- 35:15Speaker 1: B singer Life Jennings. We know him. He's been on
- 35:17Speaker 1: the show a few times. Well, he dropped a fun
- 35:20Speaker 1: fact we'll call it a fun fact on social media.
- 35:23Speaker 1: He claims that serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer asked him to
- 35:27Speaker 1: sing pretty Brown Eyes while they were in prison together.
- 35:31Speaker 1: Life posted a video on the brand and said, uh,
- 35:35Speaker 1: look it up. You better get the sang your ass
- 35:37Speaker 1: better get the singing Life. Why you say that, Betty,
- 35:42Speaker 1: because you will be eating. If not, you better get

- 50:59Speaker 1: not until you will come to this class reunion. And
- 51:01Speaker 1: I want your man, because you look like you're playing
- 51:04Speaker 1: with me, an acting stupid or something. You ain't taking

- 51:08Speaker 1: Your wife don't gonna want to go to the reunion
- 51:10Speaker 1: with me. How do you know that you ain't going nowhere?

- 51:25Speaker 1: ain't signed or some of it. But I'll find you.
- 51:27Speaker 1: What's just innocent, man, Me and her going to the
- 51:30Speaker 1: reunion is innocent, and she want to be able to
- 51:31Speaker 1: decide if she want to go with me or not.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Holding it about to your sounds trife in any way,

- 54:01Speaker 1: We got it for you. Here it is the Strawberry Letter.
- 54:04Speaker 1: All right, guys, You guys didn't like this title, but
- 54:06Speaker 1: here it is the subject. I'd rather be in prison
- 54:10Speaker 1: than live with her. Dear Stephen Shirley. I was released
- 54:14Speaker 1: from state prison a few months ago. While in prison
- 54:18Speaker 1: for twenty three months, I thought my girlfriend had my
- 54:22Speaker 1: back and we get married. When I came home, boy
- 54:26Speaker 1: was I wrong. And I came home to a situation
- 54:28Speaker 1: that was worse than prison. I was released to my
- 54:32Speaker 1: own home with my girlfriend, who has been staying in
- 54:36Speaker 1: my home while I was in prison. It was supposed
- 54:38Speaker 1: to be a joyous homecoming, but instead I walked into hell.
- 54:44Speaker 1: My girlfriend has turned into a conniving, cheating, and very
- 54:48Speaker 1: immature person. I don't know what happened while I was away,
- 54:52Speaker 1: but I thank god I got to see who she
- 54:54Speaker 1: really is before I married her. I found out that
- 54:58Speaker 1: she's been cheating on me and the I was all
- 55:00Speaker 1: up in my house all of the time. She also
- 55:03Speaker 1: hasn't been doing the upkeep on my house, and it's filthy.
- 55:07Speaker 1: Along with real life obstacles I'll face as a convicted felon,
- 55:11Speaker 1: she has run up my credit cards, mismanaged a lot
- 55:15Speaker 1: of my money, and destroyed my credit I've told her
- 55:19Speaker 1: it's over and asked her to move out several times,
- 55:22Speaker 1: but she said it's her house too, and she's not
- 55:25Speaker 1: going anywhere. I can't raise my voice at her or
- 55:29Speaker 1: touch a hair on her head because I live in
- 55:31Speaker 1: constant fear that she may use the criminal justice justice
- 55:35Speaker 1: system as a weapon against me. It's back to jail
- 55:38Speaker 1: I go. If I have any police contact, other guys
- 55:42Speaker 1: call her and she'll go in another room and talk
- 55:44Speaker 1: to them, and I can't say a word to her
- 55:47Speaker 1: about it. I am living in sheer hell. I thought
- 55:50Speaker 1: about calling my parole officer to explain what's going on,
- 55:54Speaker 1: but I don't want to get anyone involved in my
- 55:56Speaker 1: business like that. I do not need relationship advice. I
- 56:00Speaker 1: need advice on how to get away from her so
- 56:02Speaker 1: I can have peace and get situated back into my community.
- 56:06Speaker 1: How can I handle this? Yeah, well, you know we
- 56:10Speaker 1: give relationship advice here, that is what we do. But
- 56:16Speaker 1: we'll see what we can do to help you, sir,
- 56:18Speaker 1: because we don't want you to go back to prison.
- 56:21Speaker 1: That's definitely what we don't want. And first of all,
- 56:23Speaker 1: let me say this. I need you to be as
- 56:26Speaker 1: nice to her as you possibly can while she's in
- 56:29Speaker 1: your home and until the day she leaves. Okay, yeah,
- 56:35Speaker 1: keep it up, keep it up. This willum, I'm sure
- 56:39Speaker 1: have to involve some very skilled acting on your part.
- 56:42Speaker 1: You're you're doing a great job so far. Just keep
- 56:44Speaker 1: it up. But like you say, you can't give her
- 56:47Speaker 1: any reason at all to suspect you're up to anything.
- 56:51Speaker 1: You don't want her calling the police. You don't want
- 56:53Speaker 1: to go back to prison, so um, I'll just say
- 56:56Speaker 1: start building a support system. You know you're out now,
- 57:01Speaker 1: start you know, dealing with people that you know have
- 57:04Speaker 1: your back, like family members, people that you can trust, friends,
- 57:10Speaker 1: like I say, have your back, maybe a pastor, maybe
- 57:13Speaker 1: someone who has knowledge of the law, real estate, all
- 57:17Speaker 1: of that. You need to find out your rights as
- 57:19Speaker 1: a homeowner you have. You know, you gotta be smart
- 57:22Speaker 1: in this. You gotta be strategic. Again, you don't want
- 57:25Speaker 1: her finding out anything. This woman sounds like the devil
- 57:29Speaker 1: himself sent her to your house. So you definitely need
- 57:33Speaker 1: to have God on your side. That's why I mentioned
- 57:36Speaker 1: a pastor. If you're gonna, you know, get her out
- 57:38Speaker 1: of your house. I'm saying all of this. I don't
- 57:41Speaker 1: even know why you went in prison and spent two years,
- 57:43Speaker 1: almost two years to begin with, but the tone of
- 57:46Speaker 1: your letters sounds like it comes from a decent man.
- 57:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna say you're a decent man. You know. Anytime
- 57:52Speaker 1: you say you'd rather be in prison than in the
- 57:55Speaker 1: comfort of your own home, I just think it's think
- 57:57Speaker 1: it's a major problem and having this woman who has
- 58:01Speaker 1: taken over your home and basically your life is beyond
- 58:04Speaker 1: unsettling and she needs to go. So I just say,
- 58:08Speaker 1: please get a plan together, her together to get her out.
- 58:11Speaker 1: Now write it down. But you know, never let her
- 58:15Speaker 1: know what you're doing, because you don't want to upset
- 58:18Speaker 1: her or alert her or anything like that. But you
- 58:20Speaker 1: can get her out of your house. It's just gonna
- 58:22Speaker 1: take a plan. Steve. Yeah, bron, I don't know what
- 58:26Speaker 1: to say to you in this letter. Honestly, man, it stup.
- 58:29Speaker 1: I feel for you, I really really do. Man, you
- 58:32Speaker 1: did your time for whatever the mistake boys you made.
- 58:35Speaker 1: Thought your girl had your back, y'all was gonna get married. Boy,
- 58:39Speaker 1: were you wrong when you came to a situation worst
- 58:42Speaker 1: in prison. Now let me say this. You're saying that
- 58:46Speaker 1: you're glad you find out that she's been staying in
- 58:49Speaker 1: your home while you was in prison, and it was
- 58:52Speaker 1: supposed to be a joyous home coming, but you walked
- 58:55Speaker 1: into hell. She's turned into a conniving, cheating and very
- 58:59Speaker 1: immature paid I don't know what happened while I was away,
- 59:02Speaker 1: but here's the deal. I thank god I got to
- 59:04Speaker 1: see who she really is before I married her. BINGO,
- 59:09Speaker 1: that's the good thing. Somebody sent me a text one time,
- 59:14Speaker 1: and I'll try to see if I can find it
- 59:16Speaker 1: while I'm talking to you. But sometimes, and I've often
- 59:19Speaker 1: said this to women, the blessing is in the breakup,
- 59:23Speaker 1: and you've got to realize what that is when you
- 59:26Speaker 1: get it. I think you had a blessing, and so
- 59:30Speaker 1: I'm trying to find this thing that someone sent me
- 59:34Speaker 1: about this situation you're in. First of all, young brother,
- 59:41Speaker 1: here's what it is. It says, don't worry about the
- 59:44Speaker 1: people God removed from your life. He heard conversations you didn't,
- 59:49Speaker 1: saw things you couldn't, and made moves you wouldn't. Now, brother,
- 59:55Speaker 1: you seem like a good man. I'm going to assume
- 59:58Speaker 1: that this crime you went to jail forwards federal prison,
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: and you did some federal time, and you probably did
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: some type of white collar crime. I don't really know
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: what it is. I know it's a nonviolent offense. Let's
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: just say that you did twenty three months you got out.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: All right, Steve, we'll have part two of your response
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: coming up at twenty three minutes after the hour, subject
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: for today, I'd rather be in prison than live with her.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: We'll get back into it right after this you're listening
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: to all right, Steve, come on, let's recap today's Strawberry
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: Letters subject I'd rather be in prison than live with her. Well, brother,
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: I know what you're saying, but we can't go back
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: to prison. I don't think you're trying to do that,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: so we're faced with this situation. This woman has turned
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: out to be a cheated here's the upside. You found
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: out just in time. You didn't marry her. All you
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: gotta do now is get her out your house. Now.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: There are ways to file for this. I'm sure now
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: you being a convicted felon, that's going to create a
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: couple of problems because once you go down there and
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: you include the court system to get her put out
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the house, all she got to do is spending and
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: lowing you, as she may do the dirty on you,
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: just so she can go back to business as usual.
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: So you have to be extremely careful and cunning. Here.
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: You had a house that you still manage to keep.
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: She's ran up all your credit, she's ruined your money,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: and she's been in your house. Well at leasha had
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: a house. So we gotta get smart here, man. You
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: gotta go a couple of friends house. You gotta get
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: some measures taken legally that can help you out. In
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: the meantime, spend as less time as home as you
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: can until you find a way to work through this legally.
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: But then you're gonna have to spend time away from
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: the house because if you stay there. She can get
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: you jammed up. All she gotta do is call nine
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: one one one time. They come to your house, bro,
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: and you backed up. Now. I know you say you'd
- 1:02:13Speaker 1: rather go to prison and live with her, but you
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: really don't mean that, because nothing happens when you locked up. Nothing.
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: So get with a friend, Get with some smart friends,
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: because you got some smart friends. Get yourself some knowledge
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: about what you can do. Move out of there and
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: start the process then, and don't go nowhere near her.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: Put a restraining order on yourself before she asked for one.
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: See if you don't go over there by her dog,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: she can't put a restraint in order on you. That's
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: the worst thing can happen to a convicted fellow. You
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: start getting some of those insinuated charges, and when you're
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: on probation, man, you can't do nothing. You can't have
- 1:02:54Speaker 1: police contact you. Already know that they can set you
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: down for violation or parole and you could be in
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: now for up to a year before they even bring
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: in front of a judge. You know how this system works. Man.
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: So I feel badly for you, brother, but surely did
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: the right thing and told you the right thing. I
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: think you should separate yourself from a situation because it
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: sounds like you're gonna get in deep and ain't gonna
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: ain't gonna donna lead you down a dark road, man,
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: and don't put yourself out there. Don't throw your freedom away. Brother.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: She is not worth it. The cheating, immature, stealing, low down,
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: perfect person, disrespectful now noncommittal. Yeah, it ain't worth it, bro, Yeah,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: it ain't worth it. And don't let her know anything
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: you're doing. Please, it's terrible. That's like a really bad
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: document everything you do. True, Yeah, that's everything. Everything. Whose
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: house you're staying over? Where was you at? Pictures? Time checks?
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: Who paying for the house? Who's paying for that house?
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: It's his house, it's his house, Stop paying for it,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: let it go. But she yeah, she said it was
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: her house. Yeah. But if the bank kick everybody at Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: he wanted to sad Steve, that's one way to do
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: because he sounds like a really nice guy. Man. Yeah,
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: that's an ugly situation for this guy to be in, man,
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: because this woman could hurt him and because he's on probation. Yeah,
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: he walked on eggshells. Yeah. I like the fact that
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: you said, don't stay there. No, he's got a family,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: he's got friends, you know. Yeah, good, I have out
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: from around her. Yes, Junior, what you got I just
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: haven't suggested to men. You know, that's one way. For
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: closure could be one way. But I have a lot
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: of experience for pro officers and all that type of stuff,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: a lot of family members that have been through that.
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: But one thing we could do is people that he
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: met he was in there, if you know, they out,
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: we could use this to our been. We could scare
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: her out the house. Gonna be good, Junior. I'm just
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: saying we could scare act. Don't you think we thought
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: of that? You don't. You don't think they're gonna be
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: able to tie them? Also, he wasn't to keep him
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: out of prison. We can't do that, Junior. I'm sorry, Okay,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: I know you want to. He's got to kind of
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: go by the book on this one. That's any false
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: move he could go back in and that's what we're
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: trying to avoid. But he could tell his proofs of
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: what's going on, because you got to update the buntial status.
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: You know. I like the fact that he said I
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: don't need relationship advice too, because he knows that's over No,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: that's over with. Yeah, that's really sad. Yeah, it really is.
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: It really really is. She's taking advantage of him, and
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: she's going to take advantage of the judicial system, and
- 1:05:58Speaker 1: he's smart enough to know that. Yeah, yeah he No
- 1:06:01Speaker 1: one said. He didn't say how long he's on parole either.
- 1:06:05Speaker 1: You know, this could be going on for quite a while.
- 1:06:09Speaker 1: But yeah, he's got to get rid of her, get
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: her out of his house and out of his life. No,
- 1:06:16Speaker 1: I don't rather be in prison, or I'll sleep in
- 1:06:18Speaker 1: the car for I'll go to jail. Yeah I noticed that.
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: Ain't no damn option, Like you can't even go to
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: the stove. Yeah, I'm gonna swing around. He need a
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: cheek fil a. They don't have that in prison, right, Okay,
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: all right, guys, post your comments on Today's Strawberry Letter

- 1:09:51Speaker 1: We'll try and answer their questions right after this. You're
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: listening show. All right, So, guys, we have a question
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: from Mark on Facebook. Mark says, my girlfriend and I
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: have been together for six months, and all this time
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: I've known she was quote the one. Marriage is clearly
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: in our future, but she just sprung one of her
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: rules on me and I'm tripping about it. She's adamant
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: about us both having our separate lives even though we're
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: together and faithful. That includes separate places to live. She
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: wants to keep her apartment and she doesn't care where
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: I live as long as it's not with her. She says,
- 1:10:33Speaker 1: she's very picky about her living space, and me messing
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: that up would not end well for us as a couple. Dog,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: I don't even know how should I feel about this.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: This is beautiful, This is absolutely beautiful. You get your
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: own spot, You get to go visit her when you
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: want to visit her. This is beautiful. They're dating at
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: this point, they're not married. But when we get married,
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: we're gonna have my own places. I love it, surely,
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: Oh my god, sure listen. And I in my in
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: my in the neighborhood where my grandmother lived in when
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: when I was in front of Houston, when my grandmother's
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: living that was a person that was married and and
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: and the husband lived down the street in another house.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: It was the craziest thing I don't see. And he
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: would come down to her house, to his wife's house
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: half dinner, and then go back to his house. Craziest
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: thing I ever see. But I love it. Wow thing.
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: I'm all for separate bathrooms, but in the same house thing. Surely? Yeah, yeah,
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: this is nonsense. What about you, newly Web What you think? Mark?
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: What are you writing us for? She said this? She
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: said it we gonna have separate living. You're good. I
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: love it. I come on wish telling eighteen days in.
- 1:11:54Speaker 1: I wish she would have say it. I wish you
- 1:11:57Speaker 1: would have see she it. She said it. Mark, And
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: you're writing us complaining, Missim. You're perfect, You're good. I
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: wish I wish Jackie little down the street. If jack
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: can live down the street, down the street? What crazy
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: got right here? Well, I get married. What's the point
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: of getting married separately? I don't get it. Do you
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: mean by getting married, nobody have you? Okay, that's I'm selfish.
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: Don't nobody had? But we just don't have to live together.
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: We don't have to live together because I'm gonna tell
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: you all these errands I'm running. I didn't have to
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: do these eighteen days ago. Now I'm doing every day.
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: I got some way to go. Tire you. I'm tired.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Hold on, I'm tired. Dropped me off at the airport.
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: I've never driven to the airport. What did you writing
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: us for? Mark? Me and Tommy gave you out? Oh,
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: I wish Jackie little on it. I'll be fans about
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: jack insanity. Guys, every merryman, listen to the show right now. Said,
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: what is you write before? Shut up? This is a
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: perfect times shut your damn mouth. All right, let's see
- 1:13:22Speaker 1: if we have time for one more um. This is
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: from Ronnie on Twitter. Ronnie writes, Uh, I just got
- 1:13:28Speaker 1: called into HR for having a sexually degrading material posted
- 1:13:32Speaker 1: in my cubicles. Apparently one of my female co workers
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: wandered her nosy behind into my cubicle. Uh, and had
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: an issue with a picture that was on my desk.
- 1:13:42Speaker 1: The picture in question my wife, who is built like
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: a brick house. Yes, uh, and it's a professional bodybuilder.
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: Earlier this year she won a regional competition and the
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: picture is of her flexing in her bikini with her trophy. Okay,

- 1:17:43Speaker 1: Brush on your own problem, You own your own. You

- 1:18:56Speaker 1: gonna be stuck to the ceiling, ain't I'm not No,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: I'm not walking on that flow sider nephew. All right?
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: Would you rather be blind and not be able to talk?
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: Or not be able to talk for the rest of
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: your life? Not be able to not be able to
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: talk for the rest of your life? I'm guessing you're
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: going with eight times what I'm try I'm trying to
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: talk now. The struggle is real. You're getting better every day, though.
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: What I ain't gonna do is be blind too. No, no, no,
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: you cast a free baby, you can't cast all right.
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: That is today's round of would you rather? Coming up
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: at forty nine minutes after the hour. It's our last
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: break of the day, and we'll have some closing remarks
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: from the one and only Steve Harvey right after this.
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, Steve, Here we are last break
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: of the day on this Thursday. Take us home with
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: some closing remarks. You know, somebody sent me something a
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: while back. You know, I keep stuff that people send
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: me because a lot of people send me things when
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: I know I'm going through something. A lot of people
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: send me stuff when just to say, Steve, if you're
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: out there talking, man, here's a thought for you. And
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: one of the things that I've learned in my life
- 1:20:34Speaker 1: is that all of us are going to be tested.
- 1:20:38Speaker 1: We're gonna be tested and tried throughout our life. It's
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: these tests that are presented to us that has allows
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: us an opportunity to grow. Every test that comes your
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: way is an opportunity for you to gain some valuable
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: knowledge from it, and so throughout life you will always
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: be tested. Everything that happens to you is not just
- 1:21:04Speaker 1: because the devil is busy. Some thing's happened to you
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: because God has to present certain things for you in
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: order for you to learn how to deal with it,
- 1:21:16Speaker 1: which better prepares you for what you ask for later
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: in life, or to prepare you for what God is
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: going to present to you. Later in life. So when
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: you're going through hardships, you got to understand that these
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: hardships are preparing you for the future. And like I've
- 1:21:32Speaker 1: been saying a lot over the past few weeks, if
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: you think about all your hardships and your tough days
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: and your rough days, your actual record for surviving bad
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: days all the way up until this point, y'all, is one.
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: And that's a pretty good track record. Now, in this
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: test that God is going to present to you, somebody
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: sent this to me on a plaque, and it's said
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: that life has many ways of testing a person's will.
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: I want you to hear me clearly. It says life
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: has many ways of testing a person's will, either though
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: by having nothing happened at all, or by having everything
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: happened all at once. Do you know how true of
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: a statement that is? You get tested by first of all,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: a person's will get tested by either having nothing happened
- 1:22:34Speaker 1: at all. You know how hard it is man when
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: you ain't got nothing going on? Do you know how
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: hard it is man when you can't get nothing popping?
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: You know how difficult life can be man when you
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: just can't seem to get it right? Do you know
- 1:22:46Speaker 1: the difficulties you face. Man, ain't nothing clicking on none
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: of the cylinders. Man, ain't nothing happening at at all.
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: That's a test, Man, that's a real hard test. Man.
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: That's when you're sitting up that man, going Lord, Heavenly Father.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: And now it's preparing you and conditioning you to get
- 1:23:03Speaker 1: closer to God, because I'm telling you, man, you can't
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: make it in this world without God. Now you can
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: keep on trying this way if you want to, but
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: I got news for you. You can lock in on
- 1:23:13Speaker 1: this room. This is a fact. You can't make it
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: through this life without no God. You can't do it.
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: You cannot do it. It's too difficult. And one of
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: the tests to get you to draw closer to Him
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: is sometimes a person's will is tested by having nothing
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: happened at all. But here's the other way you get tested.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: How about this one? Or by having everything happened all
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: at wants? How many times that didn't happen? Man, when
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: it just felt like man, it's raining cats and dogs
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: on you. It's almost like, man, you can't catch a breaking.
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: Ten minute ago you couldn't catch a break to get
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: something happened, And now all of a suddenly look like
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: you can't stop this thing from happening. It's just old
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: balling on you. Man, that's a test, you know what.
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: God has wanted you to get close to him too,
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: so he can take some of that weight up off you,
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: so you can take your troubles to him and tied
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: to him, so he can prove to you that you
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: ain't in this thing by yourself. See, you ain't in
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: life by yourself. When it ain't you ain't got nothing happening,
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: and you ain't got and you ain't by yourself in
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: life when you got everything happened. You need God. Man,
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: I kid you not. And you know how I know
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: what I'm talking about because you're looking at a man
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: who tried it without him. And I knew better. My
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: mom was a Sunday school teacher. I knew better than
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: to turn away and try it in my way. But
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: I did it for years and I made you know
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: what I mean, I made a mess out of myself.
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: I was turning myself into a big old glob or nothing.
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: But he got my undivided attention one day when I
- 1:24:56Speaker 1: was at a real low point. But one of them days,
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: why I thought I'm gonna rit eyes no more. On
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: one of them days where I thought, man, I hadn't
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: had enough of this. I ain't never thought about killing myself.
- 1:25:05Speaker 1: I ain't never thought about checking out. The thought has
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: never crossed my mind. But I'm just talking about I
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: just had some days, man, we're just felt like, Man,
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: this is like, yeah, I can't do no more this hill.
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: When I was living in that car, I had some
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: days man, when I just said, Man, I can't do
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: this no more. I'm gonna go home. Man, I'm gonna
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: go home my mom and daddy. Man, just see if
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: I can stay there until I find a job. I
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: almost did that because, you know what, was nothing happening
- 1:25:29Speaker 1: at all. I couldn't get nothing clicking and right about
- 1:25:33Speaker 1: the man, I just say, as Scottison, man, can you
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: just show me a sign that it's gonna be our
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: Next thing? I knew I called as some machine in
- 1:25:41Speaker 1: my mama's house, and it was a message and it
- 1:25:44Speaker 1: was a guy named Chuck Chuck Sutton that showed time
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: with your power. Next thing, you know, man, next thing?
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: You know? That weekend I was on TV for the
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: very first time. And do you know something that I
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: been on TV? Every since that. But it was real
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: dog for me for a minute. But he always comes.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: Life got a lot of ways of testing the people's will,
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: either about having nothing happened at all, about having everything
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: happening all at once. But either way as a test
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: you can pass. You've done all the rest of them,
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: ain't you got through it? Yeah? Yeah, that's it. Keep
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: your faith. Put some God in your life. You need him.
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: Drop thumb, mic Hey, y'all tell you momm and nelm,
