- 0:00This shit ain't nothing to me, man. This is Boxing
- 0:03Before Dark. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing. Back. Back.
- 0:06Back. Back. Back. Before. Before. Before. Before.
- 0:11Boxing. Boxing. Boxing. Boxing Before Dark. This
- 0:15is Boxing Before Dark. The timer is running.
- 0:29Boxing Before Dark. Your friends in the boxing
- 0:33business. I'm going to start shopping taglines
- 0:39like that. Friendly Neighborhood Boxing Podcast.
- 0:43Yes, that's a good one. All right. Jesus Christ,
- 0:50we have so much on the outline, Leo. I don't
- 0:52know if I prepared for this. That's all right.
- 0:56Gervonta Davis. Didn't prepare to be caught in
- 0:59Miami. They did finally get him. He was wearing
- 1:06his ridiculous saggy pants. They looked like
- 1:08they were going to fall down when he was in handcuffs.
- 1:11I thought they were. I wanted them to so badly.
- 1:16I thought it'd be hilarious. His bond hearing
- 1:19was held. I didn't see the final result, but
- 1:23I did see that the prosecutors were trying to
- 1:25have him remain in police custody. No, I think
- 1:31they let him out because I saw. Oh, maybe not.
- 1:36I saw a clip of the judge explaining to him like
- 1:38he was a two year old that he can't have any
- 1:41contact with that woman. OK, so, yeah, they might
- 1:43have let him out. But she was very leaning on
- 1:48also, like, you can't contact her through a third
- 1:51person. Yeah. But yeah, the Gervonta Davis saga
- 1:59continues. I mean, he's been so bad lately. Just
- 2:07send him to jail. He's just going to beat somebody
- 2:11else up if they let him out. Yeah, he's definitely
- 2:16not in a good place right now, mentally. Yeah,
- 2:20I mean, he's a boxer. He gets his face pummeled
- 2:24in for money. Gotta be a little crazy to do that
- 2:28in the first place, but... I don't know, he doesn't
- 2:31seem to be in a good headspace. The crash out
- 2:34about his kid playing with dolls was the weirdest
- 2:37one to me. A toddler. Yeah. But that's enough
- 2:44of Gervonta Davis for the time being. I found
- 2:47an interesting story about Oscar De La Hoya and
- 2:51Golden Boy Promotions. They have defaulted on
- 2:56their building mortgage. 626 Wilshire Boulevard
- 3:02in downtown LA. They're quite a bit behind. The
- 3:09original loan was $27 million for the building.
- 3:12And they still owe $23 million. The building
- 3:15is a third vacant. So they're not making enough
- 3:21on rent. Right. And yeah. Yeah, that doesn't
- 3:26sound good. They're upside down on the loan.
- 3:29In 2015, the building was valued at $40 million.
- 3:332025, it's $19 million. That's a really big draw.
- 3:40Yes, it is. They're seeking... We can't... We're
- 3:45losing all... Not all of them, but we're losing
- 3:47a bunch of the older promoters. Like, top ranks.
- 3:52Dead when Bob dies. Which will be soon. Oscar's
- 3:58got almost no one in his stable, and he's on
- 4:03his mortgage as fuck. Like, we're gonna be stuck
- 4:07with only British promoters soon. And Dana White.
- 4:12I said on B -Sides, like, is Eddie Hearn fucking
- 4:17saving boxing in 2026? He might be. Fucking,
- 4:26what a day. What a day it is that I'm hoping
- 4:30Eddie Hearn fucking bails us out. 2026, Chizora
- 4:36chins Wilder and Eddie Hearn saves boxing. But
- 4:42Golden Boy Promotions did sign a multi -year
- 4:45deal with Swerve TV. The fuck is Swerve TV? Right.
- 4:51It's a channel that is on... It's like Top Rank
- 4:56Classics. It's a channel that's on those services.
- 4:59Oh, like Tubi and whatever. Broku and all that
- 5:02shit. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, the Golden Boy Library
- 5:07will be playing on Swerve TV. And I believe they're
- 5:12going to be showing undercards of their events.
- 5:21I don't know. So does that mean it's not on YouTube
- 5:25anymore? I don't know. All I know is that they're
- 5:29going to have a release of their undercards,
- 5:32or live viewing of their undercards on Swerve
- 5:35TV. Could it still be on YouTube? I would...
- 5:39I would hope it is. YouTube's just so much more
- 5:42easy to access. Yeah. But that's the latest on
- 5:50Golden Boy's troubles. Opetiah's first Zufa card.
- 5:58March 8th. That's not very far away. No, it's
- 6:03not. I hope Opetiah's been keeping in shape.
- 6:08I mean, he seems like he does. I've never seen
- 6:14Opataya looking bad. No. The rumor is that they're
- 6:20aiming for Mikaelian. That would be good. Like,
- 6:25I'd be okay with that. Yeah, but we'll see what
- 6:30they cook up. I got the... For the first few
- 6:39fights for this one, I ended up calling it a
- 6:42mighty mini card. We'll be on Yokohama. Yes,
- 6:46that's the one. I, I'm going to try and get a
- 6:49ticket for this one. Yokohama is that little
- 6:51far enough away that I haven't gone to a fight
- 6:54there yet. And I think the venue is not very
- 6:56big. So any seat will be good. But yeah, I'm
- 7:01excited. It's got Anthony all the squalor. It's
- 7:05got no needle. Don't air again, which I'm not,
- 7:07super excited for. And it's got Knockout CP Freshmart.
- 7:11I can see the Thai legend in person. Yeah. That's
- 7:16pretty much everybody that's on the bill. Who
- 7:21else do you need? It's going to be awesome. I'm
- 7:24glad Oluswaga's getting the headline too. He's
- 7:27been looking really good lately. Yeah. Let's
- 7:33see. Richard? Torres and Frank Sanchez. The deal
- 7:41has been made. They will be fighting on March
- 7:4428th. I believe that's an undercard for something.
- 7:50I don't remember what at the moment. That's a
- 7:54bit of a step up for Richard Torres. Quite. I'll
- 7:58be interested to see how he handles that. Because
- 8:04I like Richard Torres, but I don't think he's
- 8:06that good. He's got to be freakishly skilled
- 8:12to compensate for his lack of size. Yeah, he's
- 8:16not freakishly skilled. He's just skilled. Yeah.
- 8:20Maybe. Frank Sanchez, if that knee issue he had
- 8:26before persists, then maybe Torres can pull something
- 8:32out. I mean, Frank Sanchez isn't a super mover
- 8:36anyways. That just might make him more dangerous.
- 8:39He'll have to stand and bang. It's always good
- 8:43when Cubans have to stand and bang. They can.
- 8:47It works out nicely. It's better than the alternative.
- 8:52Yes. Moses Itauma versus Jermaine Franklin. That
- 8:58whole card was picked up and moved to March 28th.
- 9:03The injury was a torn biceps. That sounds bad.
- 9:09Yeah. I don't know much about injuries, but torn
- 9:12biceps sounds bad. But yeah, the whole card,
- 9:18exactly as it is, just moved the date. Oh, man.
- 9:28Tyson Fury versus Arslanbek Makhmudov. It is
- 9:32official for April 11th. Nobody asked for this.
- 9:39No. It's just going to be two really big guys.
- 9:46Not boxing much. I think. I'm not expecting much
- 9:52out of Makhmudov. I'm not expecting much out
- 9:57of Fury either. He should make decent work of
- 10:03it. I guess. Imagine if Mock Madoff chins him
- 10:07somehow. Fucking hilarious. I would love it.
- 10:12Not gonna happen, but I would love it. Yeah.
- 10:18Man, I almost don't even want to mention it just
- 10:21because this, whatever it is, trend or meme or
- 10:26whatever it is, just really, really annoys me.
- 10:30They did... There was a post on social media
- 10:34saying there were 6 .7 million or billion fucking
- 10:40engagements with... No, it was even stupider.
- 10:44It was 6 .7 billion potential... Impressions.
- 10:51Impressions, yeah. Oh, that's what it was. The
- 10:53fuck does that even mean? It has been seen. 6
- 10:57.7 billion times. But I assume the potential
- 11:00is that it's been shown on the internet 6 .7
- 11:05billion times. Whether people looked at it or
- 11:08not, they have no idea. Yeah, but it was obvious
- 11:13that it was the 6 .7 thing. God. Fucking stupid.
- 11:19All of it's stupid. Impressions are useless.
- 11:23Potential impressions are even more useless.
- 11:26Like, what the fuck are these metrics? I don't
- 11:31know. Overall, pretty displeased with how this
- 11:38is going so far. With this fucking number and
- 11:45the juggling. hand motion that they do. Yeah,
- 11:49that's stupid. Speaking of stupid, Kell Brook
- 11:55is returning in Dubai on April 11th as well.
- 12:03Why? I didn't know he was still fighting. He's
- 12:07not. Like, I don't think dudes had a fight in
- 12:10like three years. When was Kell Brook's last
- 12:15fight? That is a good question. My cords are
- 12:20all over the place. Yeah, the... 2022. I was
- 12:30pretty close. It's been a while. Like... And
- 12:40he got his ass kicked. Like, he did not look
- 12:44good in that fight. Oh, I was thinking the Terrence
- 12:49Crawford fight. But he also didn't look good
- 12:53against Amir Khan. Just Amir Khan's chin was
- 12:56not even glass. What's, like, frost? Paper mache?
- 13:02Paper mache is stronger. Like, you know when
- 13:05it gets really cold and the frost gets all, like,
- 13:08hairy? Yeah, yeah. Well, you're from Arizona,
- 13:13but yeah, and you barely touch it and it just
- 13:15disintegrates. That's Amir Khan's chin, like
- 13:18Horry Frost. But yeah, Kell Brook, he's back,
- 13:26baby. This one is, I believe, at Light Flyweight.
- 13:34It's 108. Tanon Xak. The IBF title holder is
- 13:44facing Sergio Mendoza. I've seen him once. He's
- 13:48very hard to actually get on TV. Probably surprising
- 13:54no one. But he's just a little Thai guy. He definitely
- 14:00used to do Muay Thai. He's got a Muay Thai stance.
- 14:06He's fun. Defends his title April 13th. A bit
- 14:14of ways after, I guess he'll be watching the
- 14:17knockout Freshmark title fight with interest.
- 14:26Yeah, because Freshmark moved up, right? Yeah,
- 14:30they're at the same weight class. Yeah. Nice.
- 14:34You know what's not nice? Keyshawn Davis. It
- 14:39seems like he's on his way out the door of top
- 14:43rank, and it looks like he's cozying up with
- 14:47the matchroom brass. Hmm. I mean, career -wise,
- 14:53it's probably a good move. It's probably a good
- 14:57move for anyone right now. I'm not... I thought
- 15:02top rank would have a home by now. I have a bit
- 15:06of a, I don't think it's a conspiracy theory,
- 15:08but I have a theory that top rank realizes Bob
- 15:12Arum's dying soon and there's no one that's going
- 15:15to replace him. And nobody wants to sign any
- 15:21sort of long -term deal until they see what happens
- 15:23when Bob dies. He had been mentoring his, I think,
- 15:33son -in -law. Todd Duboff? I think that's how
- 15:37you say his name? Yeah. He had been sort of shaping
- 15:41him to be his heir apparent, but I know that
- 15:46he's been involved with top -ranked operations
- 15:49at an executive level for quite some time. If
- 15:54he was really going to become the new face of
- 15:57it, they'd start putting him on interviews and
- 16:01shit, wouldn't they? At the very least, have
- 16:03him make business moves that nerds like us cover.
- 16:09Yeah, like, or just something. I've never seen
- 16:13this man. I can't think of what he looks like.
- 16:15Yeah. Yeah, I do know the name. You're right.
- 16:19But, like, I also haven't heard anything about
- 16:22him lately. And, like, Bob's dying. He's, like,
- 16:2694. Like, nobody lives forever. That's my theory,
- 16:31is nobody's happy with whoever's replacing Bob.
- 16:35And that's why they can't get a long -term deal.
- 16:40It's too bad. I don't want to see Top Rank go
- 16:42away, necessarily. It wasn't their biggest fan,
- 16:46but... It's still not like this. I thought they
- 16:51did pretty well with their boxers, actually.
- 16:55Boxers at top rank didn't get shelved like PBC
- 16:58and there's way less suing than like Goldenboy
- 17:04and, you know, I don't know. Top ranks seem like
- 17:07a solid promotion company to me. Oh, speaking
- 17:14of suing and Goldenboy, Goldenboy is counter
- 17:17suing Rick Merigian, Virgil Ortiz's manager.
- 17:24Or slander? I don't know, but it's in regards
- 17:27to the breach of contract thing. I think they're
- 17:30countersuing Merigian for breach of contract.
- 17:35Alright. Yeah. That whole thing is such a fucking
- 17:39myth. And this happens to Oscar all the goddamn
- 17:42time. Like, every one of his big stars has sued
- 17:47him at some point. Probably why he can't pay
- 17:51his mortgage. Maybe he can get some advertisers
- 17:59for his clapback Thursdays. He should ask the
- 18:05ramen sponsor. Oh, man. Bam received an offer
- 18:14from Zufa. Matchroom beat that offer. I thought
- 18:19it was a done deal that Bam's going back to Matchroom,
- 18:22but it's not. He is still able to... She's still...
- 18:26courting other offers. But it does look like
- 18:30Mattroom is gonna be retaining him. I mean, Bam's...
- 18:35I know he's small, and small guys are never that
- 18:38famous, but Bam's a superstar. Mattroom's stupid
- 18:42if they let him go. Like, he's just getting to
- 18:46where he's gonna start fighting big names again.
- 18:52I think. For Bam, because of his size, I think
- 19:00it would have been stupid for him to go to Zufa.
- 19:03I can't name any fighter, it'll be stupid for
- 19:07them to go to Zufa. But for Bam in particular,
- 19:11he's at a point in his career where that would
- 19:12have been a step backwards. That would have killed
- 19:16his stardom, for sure. I don't mind Bam using
- 19:22Zufa for negotiation tactics. And he didn't seem
- 19:26very serious about it anyways. But if Bam had
- 19:31seriously considered Zufa, I would have been
- 19:33so disappointed. Like, I don't know. None of
- 19:38my favorite fighters better go to Zufa or they'll
- 19:41start getting hate mail. From you? Yeah. I'll
- 19:46go for Karen. I'm so disappointed in you. Let
- 19:49me speak to your manager. Yeah. Robert, who I
- 19:54think does act as a manager for some of his guys,
- 19:57he's been public saying the matchroom beating
- 20:03Zufa wasn't... It happened outside of the contractual
- 20:09period where it's a certain thing. That Mattroom,
- 20:14if Mattroom beats the offer, they automatically
- 20:17retain him. Okay. So there's, it's legalese,
- 20:23but yeah. Bam. Fucking get paid, buddy. But not
- 20:28from Zufa, please. Well, Zufa's not gonna pay
- 20:32him what he's worth anyways. Yeah. Oh, paying
- 20:38what it's worth? Miguel Cotto's newly renovated
- 20:42gym. reopens to the public. Just thought this
- 20:46was a nice story. Yeah, that's kind of fun. Did
- 20:49they have pictures? Yeah, they had a whole press
- 20:52release and everything. Press event. Were there
- 20:56giant murals on the wall? Not that I could see.
- 21:00I didn't see very many pictures of the gym itself.
- 21:03I just saw pictures of Miguel, his wife, and
- 21:07different personalities. He should have murals
- 21:12of himself. On the gym. I think. I would expect
- 21:16that he does. Yeah. I was going to ask if the
- 21:19paintings were nice because every boxing gym
- 21:21usually has them. He would have to have other
- 21:29Puerto Rican fighters, right? Yeah. So you would
- 21:33have... My memory fucking sucks ass. I don't
- 21:40know who the top... Trinidad, I guess. Yeah,
- 21:44that's the one I was trying to think of. The
- 21:48rest that I'm thinking of are all Mexican, I
- 21:51think. But yeah, Trinidad. Gotta be on the Puerto
- 21:57Rican Mount Rushmore. Yeah, he's gotta be there.
- 22:00But yeah, all I'm thinking of is Cubans and Mexicans
- 22:03right now. Well, speaking of neither, Christian
- 22:07and Beely elevated to full champion. The Lester
- 22:12Martinez rematch is still likely next. But it's
- 22:18not for sure. I don't want to see Mbili fight
- 22:22anyone else. Like, I don't give a shit. Because
- 22:26I think Lester won that first fight. Lester needs
- 22:28his rematch. I also think Lester does better
- 22:32in the rematch. Yeah, Lester came on better.
- 22:37He got better as the fight went on. Mbili is
- 22:41kind of like a... He has one gear. It's a fucking
- 22:45intense gear, for sure, but he's still like a
- 22:49one -trick pony, whereas Martinez was a lot more
- 22:53multifaceted. Yeah, he made a lot more adjustments.
- 22:58I don't think I've ever seen Mbili make an adjustment
- 23:00to anything ever, but I guess if it ain't broke,
- 23:03don't fix it. Well, hopefully they do it again.
- 23:09But congrats to Mbili. Oh, shit. Something that
- 23:16just came up. Diego Pacheco pulls out of the
- 23:22negotiations for the title fight with Hamza Shiraz.
- 23:27Really? Yeah. Why? I don't know. I mean, Pacheco
- 23:35probably loses that. I think he does too. So
- 23:37maybe that's why. But... Interesting move. Yeah,
- 23:44I want to see who else they got. Because it's
- 23:47probably not going to be good. He's going to
- 23:54be getting ducking allegations for fucking ever
- 23:57now. Pacheco. He was already getting them. Okay.
- 24:06So they haven't updated their rankings yet. The
- 24:08most recent are from December 2025. Super middleweight.
- 24:17Number one is Canelo. Two, Pacheco. Three, Shiraz.
- 24:21Four, Jacob Bank. He is currently busy. I don't
- 24:29think I know who Jacob Bank is. Alem Begich?
- 24:36I don't know. German guy. Simon Zackenhuber.
- 24:40Zackenhuber? Paulinas Njolonomu. Nemu. I don't
- 24:52know who any of these people are. Callum Simpson.
- 24:57Jaime Munguia. Lester Martinez. Beck the Bully.
- 25:01Iglesias Berlanga. Saras. Okay, so those ones
- 25:08I recognize all the names, but those first few,
- 25:11do you know who they are? I know Jacob Bank just
- 25:17from the fight with William Skull. Alem Bejic,
- 25:24no idea. Simon Zackenhuber, we have spoken about
- 25:27him. That's the extent of my knowledge. This
- 25:32Paulinas fellow, no idea. 168 is a weird weight
- 25:39class right now. Yeah, this is all... I think
- 25:44this has something to do with Pacheco signing
- 25:49a management deal with an agency. It's not an
- 25:54individual. I think they're advising him to explore
- 26:05promotional deals. instead. That's my thinking.
- 26:10Right. But that's just my speculation, so who
- 26:14knows. Still a bad move. It's a fucking title
- 26:20fight, dude. Yeah, just take it. If you lose,
- 26:24try again later. It's like the whole point of
- 26:28boxing in the first place. Yeah, don't be a bitch.
- 26:33Oh, man. Team USA athletes, anyone who makes
- 26:42the Olympic team will be paid $200 ,000 for making
- 26:47the team and competing. That's not that much
- 26:52for the amount of work it takes to get on the
- 26:54Olympic team. Yeah. It takes years. But, I mean,
- 26:57it's not bad. It's something. It's a chunk of
- 27:03money. Yeah. Is boxing in the Summer Olympics
- 27:07or the Winter Olympics? Summer. Okay. Because
- 27:12the Winter Olympics are this year? Yes. In Italy,
- 27:19I think. I think you're right. Because I think
- 27:23I just heard a news report that they're sending
- 27:27ice over as security for the athletes in Italy.
- 27:32That's... I don't understand. What? why yeah
- 27:35yeah anyways yeah dumb um but yeah good uh good
- 27:43to see the athletes getting a little bit of recognition
- 27:45hopefully this helps tide the boxers over when
- 27:50as they start courting start looking at turning
- 27:54pro courting promotional outfits they have a
- 27:58little bit of money to sit on 200 ,000 is nothing
- 28:02to sneeze at, but I just mean for the amount
- 28:07of training and expenses to get there, it's a
- 28:11drop in the bucket, kind of. Oh, Daniel Dubois
- 28:18is exploring a fight with Ji Lei Zhang. Interesting.
- 28:29That's the best I got, too. This is interesting.
- 28:34I'm not super excited about it, but, I mean,
- 28:37it's a real fight, so. Yes, it is a fight of
- 28:41all time. I don't know if Jang still has it.
- 28:50He's super old. He's, like, in his mid -forties.
- 28:53Yeah, but he might hit hard still. Yeah, I guess
- 28:59he has that danger factor. But also, I think
- 29:04Dubois needs just a win against somebody decent
- 29:09now. Yeah, I would say so. Like, I mean, if Uze
- 29:19gets to go fight Wilder and nobody complains,
- 29:21Dubois can fight Jang. He's also only 42, which
- 29:26isn't that old for heavyweights. Yeah, he's not
- 29:28nearly as old as I was thinking. Still, yeah,
- 29:37good to see Dubois at least doing something.
- 29:41I heard Daniel Dubois is the one with the father
- 29:46that's really over -controlling, right? Yeah.
- 29:49So Dubois had left his trainer that he didn't
- 29:53seem very happy with to start with. Like, he
- 29:56never thanks them in interviews or post -fights
- 30:00and stuff. So he'd left and gone to someone else.
- 30:05And within two weeks, he quit and went back.
- 30:10So... Two weeks? Yeah, like, it wasn't even a
- 30:15month. And... Dubois makes it sound like it was
- 30:21his choice, whatever. But I think it's the dad.
- 30:25You think so? Yeah, I think the new trainer was
- 30:29like, your dad can't decide everything. Your
- 30:31dad's not in charge here. And that was the end
- 30:36of the relationship. Is my guess. Like, that
- 30:42has not been just flat out said by anyone. But
- 30:45Dubois decided to leave the new trainer. He wasn't
- 30:49kicked out or anything. Yeah, for whatever his
- 30:54motivation was, is a question mark. Yeah, maybe
- 30:58Dubois just didn't like the training style or
- 31:01he didn't feel like it was good or whatever.
- 31:04But I suspect the dad was told to fuck off and
- 31:07the dad said, we're not staying here anymore.
- 31:10Daniel listens to his dad. Shaking my head. Oh,
- 31:19well, speaking of shaking my head, Edwin De Los
- 31:21Santos goes over to the dark side. He is now
- 31:27a Zufa fighter. I definitely recognize the name.
- 31:33Why do I know the name? He fought Shakur? Yeah,
- 31:37it was like on... In the middle of the week,
- 31:40it was like a Thursday. It was the Formula One
- 31:43Las Vegas Grand Prix, and this was the opener
- 31:46to that whole event. It was fucking terrible.
- 31:52It was the worst fight ever, right? Like, I have
- 31:55the correct fight. Yes, you are remembering correctly.
- 31:57It was fucking awful. I guess the guy's famous
- 32:01for being shit, so... He's got really heavy hands.
- 32:06That's kind of... his like that's his best attribute
- 32:10uh otherwise uh kind of middling i guess like
- 32:20i don't think anyone else was paying him so go
- 32:25nuts i suppose yeah i hope a bunch of people
- 32:28do just drain fucking money at azufa like don't
- 32:32get me wrong i want these fighters to go and
- 32:34just drain all the money and kill it instantly
- 32:39would be nice with uh the six -year contract
- 32:44limits yeah it's a good chunk of somebody's career
- 32:50but that's still six years you you can get out
- 32:56you don't have to stay there well and a lot of
- 32:59these guys aren't gonna stay there six years
- 33:01anyways they're they're too old for that yeah
- 33:04like the ones they've been signing like And Opetai
- 33:08is not fighting for six more years. Vostik, not
- 33:12fighting for six more years. Which B did they
- 33:17get? It's not Brancic. Yeah, it is Brancic. Brancic?
- 33:21Yeah, he's not fighting for six years. Boachuk.
- 33:24Boachuk. It's Boachuk. He's not fighting for
- 33:27six years. Boachuk's not fighting for three more
- 33:29years if he's smart. I doubt any of those guys
- 33:38are signing contracts that long. I hope De Los
- 33:42Santos, I hope you get paid adequately. You get
- 33:48what you're looking for, but hopefully you get
- 33:50out while the getting's good. De Los Santos might
- 33:54fight for six years. He's only 26. That's also
- 34:03assuming that they're signing the Macs. I don't
- 34:09know if everyone's fighting for signing six years.
- 34:12No, probably not. But I could also see Zufa just
- 34:16being greasy fucks and wording it that the fighter
- 34:20can't decide to end the contract, but Zufa can.
- 34:24So the fighter's locked in for six years unless
- 34:27Zufa decides to cut him loose. I see. Because
- 34:30there's legal ease you could do that. Yeah, so
- 34:36it's a six -year contract unless Zufa decides
- 34:39otherwise. I don't know if that's true, but I
- 34:44mean, I imagine that's what Zufa's doing because
- 34:47they're greasy fucks. Well, would you call Kambosos
- 34:54a greasy fuck? Ferocious Promotions is lining
- 35:00up their first card in June. I actually do hope
- 35:08Kambosis' promotions goes well. I don't hate
- 35:14the idea of the Australians having more competition
- 35:19in the local scene. Yeah, if what Jacob says
- 35:23about No Limit is true, if what Polly heard about
- 35:27Tasman fighters is true. And, like... Kambosis
- 35:32is a mouthpiece. I can see him being good at
- 35:35being promotions, actually. Yeah, I agree. But
- 35:41he is greasy. Like, just physically, he looks
- 35:45greasy. Fucking slicked back hair all the time.
- 35:52Let's see. Part of the official statement, I
- 35:55just took out a little chunk. The focus will
- 35:57be on showcasing Australia's best emerging talent.
- 36:01Built around true 50 -50 matchups, real fights
- 36:04that matter with genuine competitive interest.
- 36:07Australian championships and regional titles
- 36:10will be on the line, following the same blueprint
- 36:12I used to climb to the very top of the sport.
- 36:17Yeah, I mean, whoever Kambosis' manager is, is
- 36:21a fucking genius. Yeah. If that's who's managing
- 36:24for ferocious promotions, fuck, I'd sign with
- 36:27him. I don't know. Kambosis' career was really
- 36:32well run. Like, talent to money, Kambosis' ratio
- 36:38is fucking awesome. Yeah, I agree. He got put
- 36:43into a lot of high -profile fights, and that
- 36:46one win catapulted him into the fucking stratosphere.
- 36:50Yeah. And he played that perfectly. Like... I
- 36:55would trust his team with my career if I was
- 36:57theoretically a young boxer. I think this could
- 37:01be good. Also, if it's actually true and they
- 37:07do like a pro box thing, like Australian pro
- 37:10box would be pretty fun. Don't fucking tempt
- 37:13me with a good time. Speaking of good times,
- 37:18the Barrios Garcia undercard. Is set. Richardson
- 37:26Hitchens versus Oscar Duarte. For the IBF 140
- 37:30title. GAR versus Andy Hirooka. WBA 140 title.
- 37:38Frank Martin versus Nahir Albright. 140 pound
- 37:42fight. And Beck the Bully versus Sina Akbeko.
- 37:45At 168. This is a really good card. It is. Actually
- 37:51super excited about this card. Hoping for draw
- 37:57number three with Mario Barrios. Actually, I
- 38:01hope for Mario Barrios to just KO him. The draw
- 38:04would be funnier, but seeing Ryan Garcia fucking
- 38:07out on the mat from such a mid -level fighter
- 38:10would be perfect. It would be fun. I would fucking
- 38:16love it. I'm actually super excited about the
- 38:19Gar versus Hiroyoka fight as well. I don't think
- 38:24Andy Hiroyoka's ready. I think Gary Antoine's
- 38:29gonna beat him. But people are excited about
- 38:33Hiroyoka. I am. I'm hopeful that he can at least
- 38:37make it competitive. I think it'll be competitive.
- 38:40You're right though. Antoine is just... He's
- 38:44too much right now for Hiroko. I think so. And
- 38:49then Hitchens Duarte I'm not as excited about,
- 38:52but could be fun, I guess. It will be as fun
- 38:57as I think Hitchens will allow it to be. And
- 39:02I don't think that's going to be very much. Yeah,
- 39:05I kind of hope Duarte catches him with something
- 39:07early and gets Hitchens off his game. Yeah, it
- 39:12would be nice. But if he gets tagged early, he's
- 39:15going to be super negative the rest of the night.
- 39:17That's true, too. I don't know. I'm not so excited
- 39:21about that fight. But Gar versus Hiroyuki, I'm
- 39:25pretty excited about. Not the worst matchup for
- 39:30Frank Martin. I would honestly expect better,
- 39:34given the levels of fights he's had. But I guess
- 39:42Nahir Albright's not terrible. I was gonna say,
- 39:45he's a bit of a name, isn't he? He's got name
- 39:47recognition. That's true. I like Beck the Bully,
- 39:53so I'm gonna tune in for that. But it's not going
- 39:58to be the highest level of boxing. Where have
- 40:04I seen Agbeko? Agbeko's the... Is he from the
- 40:10Congo? Ghana. Or am I? Ghana. Okay. He fought
- 40:16Morel and lost. Stopped in two in December of
- 40:2223. Fought Iglesias and lost. Stopped in two
- 40:27August of 24. He's stoppable, but he also comes
- 40:36to fight. Like, he's not... an outboxer really
- 40:41I mean it should be fun because Beck's not that
- 40:46good either so like an evenly matched guys that'll
- 40:52punch I'm here for it yeah I agree should be
- 40:56at least a fun outing while it lasts oh man speaking
- 41:04of fun while it lasts Deontay Wilder Derek Chisora
- 41:08His final April 4th at the O2 in London. I'm
- 41:15excited for this one. I know I'm not supposed
- 41:18to be, but I think this is a great matchup. I
- 41:22think at this point in time in both their careers,
- 41:25this is a great matchup. Yeah, I think you're
- 41:28right. Based on where they're at, this is the
- 41:31type of fight that these dudes should be taking.
- 41:37I also think Chizora overwhelms him. I will continue
- 41:46to believe that the magic right hand will land.
- 41:51I don't think so. Also, what's the over -under
- 41:56on Wilder's calves in this fight? What, like
- 42:01circumference? Yeah, take the under because his
- 42:04legs are fucking tiny. Yeah, it's weird how he's,
- 42:10uh... How is he able to carry such, like, a jacked
- 42:14upper body? With no calves. Like, it's just shinbone.
- 42:19It's just shinbone. Yeah, his thighs, too, I
- 42:24guess, aren't very big. Yeah, it's always...
- 42:29Like, Deontay, it's called a squat. Fucking go
- 42:34for a walk. They are hard, but you kind of need
- 42:38them. Well, and, like, power comes from your
- 42:43legs, man. Yeah. Makes his right hand all the
- 42:49more magnificent, is that it comes from nothing.
- 42:54It's just magic. Yeah, he's like a... He would
- 42:58be better seen, I guess, as like a genie floating
- 43:04halfway out of a cloud. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's
- 43:08the legs that you're getting from Wilder when
- 43:12it comes to power. It's true, though. Oh, man.
- 43:20That's it for the news, though. There's quite
- 43:22a bit going on. Some of it, not that important.
- 43:30Like Hellbrook. Ridiculous. Oh shit, let me do

- 44:09it doesn't have to be this way. It's time to
- 44:11say bye to flakes with flakes. Flakes isn't a

- 44:16just masks the problem. It's a powerful, medically
- 44:19formulated treatment designed to get to the root
- 44:22of the toughest dandruff. Flakes works fast to
- 44:25control the flaking, calm the itching, and soothe
- 44:28the redness that's on your scalp. And here's
- 44:31another pro tip. Flakes will also help with that
- 44:33stubborn beard gruff if you have that too. Imagine
- 44:37feeling completely free to wear whatever you

- 46:08some fucking recaps. Friday, January 23rd. The
- 46:14debut of Zufa Boxing on Paramount+. Why even
- 46:20mention it if I fucking hate Zufa so much? Troy
- 46:25Nash. Honestly. He's a very solid prospect. It
- 46:31is real boxing. It's still boxing. We gotta talk
- 46:34about it. Also, I want to shit on the stupid
- 46:37fucking uniforms. I knew they were gonna do it.
- 46:41It's so fucking stupid. I want people to have
- 46:44the flashy trunks that all look different. I
- 46:48want people to have cool walkout outfits that
- 46:51tell me about their personality. And I want,
- 46:54like, fireworks and fucking music while they
- 46:57do it. UFC, the most boring bullshit ever, is
- 47:01not gonna work in boxing. And it's not just me
- 47:04being weird. A bunch of the fighters were like,
- 47:06this looks like shit. Yeah. Fighters and fans
- 47:11alike. Half the fun is their outfits. And I'm
- 47:15sure it's really important to the boxers, too.
- 47:17Like, they probably spend a bunch of time. They
- 47:19probably get really excited about it. They probably,
- 47:21like... I fucking know Seiya Tsutsumi practices
- 47:25his turnaround at the beginning of the walkout
- 47:27where he stands and shows off his cool jacket
- 47:30or whatever he's wearing. And then he does the
- 47:32like Zoolander blue steel as he turns. He practices
- 47:37that shit with his friends all the time. I guarantee
- 47:40it. You can't take the pageantry out of boxing.
- 47:48I think the perfect example is Mizuki. hiruta
- 47:53she's really not that good she's like she's good
- 47:58but she's not special she's fine as a boxer but
- 48:02like her walkout outfits and her ring attire
- 48:05on amazing unbeatable exactly that's no joke
- 48:11the only reason i watch mizuki is because of
- 48:14her clothes and she's just so happy The nature
- 48:24of Zufa is that the 360 promotions became the
- 48:31feeder into Zufa. So fucking Mizuki is going
- 48:35to have to walk out with just like plain one
- 48:40color. Honestly, I wonder if she signs with Zufa.
- 48:47If they tell her she has to wear the uniform,
- 48:50she might just come back to Japan. That would
- 48:54be better. Japanese women get no fights. Like,
- 49:00in Japan. But, I mean, she's not going to want
- 49:05to fight in a uniform. I can't see it. It's so
- 49:11fucking stupid. And the Apex Theater sucks ass.
- 49:15How many people were there? Like, 200? I think
- 49:17that's the maximum, is like 250. It fucking looked
- 49:21like a school gymnasium. There's no crowd noise.
- 49:26Like, fucking in the post -fight interviews,
- 49:31Dana White was talking about the bathrooms or
- 49:33some shit. What? You didn't see that? No. Somebody
- 49:40yelled something. He's like, well, we got nice
- 49:42bathrooms now. Oh, yeah. Great. That's excellent.
- 49:48That's just, wow, that's what everyone's been
- 49:50wanting. And, like, tickets were a million fucking
- 49:56dollars for no atmosphere, no cool outfits, no
- 50:01walkout theatrics. Like, when Inoue walked out
- 50:05that last time I saw him in Tokyo with all the
- 50:08fireworks and the guy blasted on the guitar beside
- 50:11him. Oh, that was fucking epic. The gif, like,
- 50:15where he does the hand thing. That walkout was
- 50:20fucking awesome. I can't, like, it would ruin
- 50:24that night without that walkout. I don't know.
- 50:29Anyways, end of my rant, but fuck Zufa and her
- 50:34stupid fucking outfits. Troy Nash had a solid
- 50:42performance against Jacob Ramos. Overall, it
- 50:46makes me sad. To see such a really good prospect.
- 50:50On a Zufa card. Because like everything you just
- 50:54described. We're not going to ever get. We're
- 50:57not going to ever get to know. Or get to see.
- 50:59Who Troy Nash is. He's going to wear. Plain black.
- 51:05Or blue fucking trunks. And. Muted shoes. Dana
- 51:12doesn't want. The fighters to be. The. Focus.
- 51:19He's building a brand like he does with UFC.
- 51:22And the fighters are secondary. That's not what
- 51:26he's trying to sell people. He's selling people
- 51:28Zufa boxing, not Troy Nash. Whereas every other
- 51:32fucking promotion sells you a guy. This is our
- 51:36guy. He's awesome. You should watch him because.
- 51:40Maybe because he gets knockouts. Maybe because
- 51:42he picks the coolest walkout music. Maybe because
- 51:45he has anime shoes. Like... Yeah. Yeah. I just...
- 51:52Moving up the bill, Robert Merriweather versus
- 51:58Cesar Correa. Robert gets the pretty clean, pretty
- 52:02easy... Well, no. It's a clear UD, but it was
- 52:07not an easy fight. Meriwether had Correa gave
- 52:12Meriwether all he could handle Meriwether has
- 52:16since in the media been saying like I don't care
- 52:20about the other original four belts I don't care
- 52:22about those I want the Zufa title man who the
- 52:26who put a gun to your head and made you post
- 52:29that yeah well that's the other thing what's
- 52:32his name on the fucking broadcast slurping on
- 52:36doofaboxing. Yeah, fuck, is he annoying. Absolutely
- 52:42ridiculous. I mean, the fighters know that you
- 52:49can kiss enough ass with Dana to get special
- 52:53treatment. They see it in the UFC. And that's
- 52:58another thing, the people begging for the bonus
- 53:01money. I fucking hate that. One FC also has the
- 53:05bonus money and nobody begs for it. They're super
- 53:08happy when they get it. Like, there's guys crying.
- 53:11Like, I can buy my dad a house. Like, that sort
- 53:14of shit. But nobody's sitting there like, please,
- 53:18please, sir. Can I have the bonus? Yeah. With
- 53:22the bowling rule. Yeah. Moving up the bill. Not
- 53:28a whole lot going on here until we get to the
- 53:31co -main. Was it the co -main? I think it was.
- 53:35No. Trinidad? Yeah. Omar Trinidad versus Max
- 53:39Ornelas. It was not. Julian Rodriguez, UD over
- 53:45Kane Sandoval. That was the co -main. I forgot
- 53:48to reorder them. Trinidad gets a stoppage in
- 53:5110. 10th and final round at the closing minute.
- 53:57It was... Omar Trinidad looked like he usually
- 54:01does, which is not very good. Fair enough. Speaking
- 54:08of not very good, Callum Walsh. UD over Carlos
- 54:13Ocampo. Callum Walsh just isn't good enough to
- 54:18be their face. For whatever reason, Dana White
- 54:24fucking loves Callum Walsh. Yeah, I don't get
- 54:29it. I don't get it. But they're putting him in
- 54:35a position where he's gonna fail because he's
- 54:39not that good. He can't live up to the expectations
- 54:42of boxing and being at that level. He's not that
- 54:48guy. And it's not fair to him because he hasn't
- 54:52had time to become that guy. It's very rare that
- 54:58somebody can just be thrown into the spotlight
- 55:01like that. It's not that I hate Callum Walsh
- 55:06or anything. He's not that good to be the face.
- 55:14He's not exciting. I don't know. Zufa 1 was disappointing.
- 55:24I had very low expectations. Yeah, overall, this
- 55:29was a disappointing debut for what is supposed
- 55:34to be the disruptor of the sport or whatever.
- 55:38Carlos Ocampo, he was not good. He never really
- 55:44was good to begin with. There were people calling
- 55:48him washed. You kind of have to be good to be
- 55:52washed. Yeah. Callum Walsh could not have landed
- 55:57more clean punches. It was unbelievable how this
- 56:02fight did not end in a knockout. Walsh has no
- 56:07power. That's really the conclusion. This young
- 56:11man fucking... I don't know. Even back in the
- 56:16360 promotion days, I don't understand why he
- 56:20was their guy. I don't understand what the fucking
- 56:24big deal is about Calibals. Yeah. I don't get
- 56:27it either. Yeah. Overall, Zufa was as bad as
- 56:36I was expecting it to be. And my expectations
- 56:39were pretty low. I'm just mad about everything.
- 56:45Could. Absolutely everything. How is it possible?
- 56:50For Max Kellerman to have spoken so much with
- 56:54so much dick in his mouth. Yeah, no idea. He
- 56:59was slurping so hard. So hard. I've been waiting
- 57:03all my life for Zufa. What the fuck are you talking
- 57:07about, sir? He compared somebody to Roy Jones
- 57:10Jr.? It's fucking ridiculous. The rumor is that
- 57:17Andre Ward left early. Because of Kellerman?
- 57:21I would. Yeah. If I was sitting at the table,
- 57:28I would have such an urge to just slap that man.
- 57:32And go, what the fuck are you saying? Max Kriegel?
- 57:40No, not Mark Kriegel. Excuse me. He was his usual
- 57:45weird self. Making the sob story promotional
- 57:51pieces. I don't hate him as much. I don't like
- 57:56him, but I don't hate him. Yeah, I usually just
- 58:00ignore him. Or try to. And Tessitore was his
- 58:04usual self. Yeah, the lady they had doing the
- 58:07interview seemed fine. Like, she wasn't super...
- 58:13engaging, but she seemed to know what she was
- 58:16talking about and able to interview the fighters
- 58:21competently. Because I've never seen her before.
- 58:24I don't know who she is. Yeah. The only... If
- 58:32I had to pick something that I could say positively
- 58:37or say positive about the Zufa whatever, is the
- 58:44production quality was pretty nice. Like, the
- 58:48cameras, really clean picture, the camera angles,
- 58:52that stuff was all good. That's a pretty low
- 58:56bar to get over, so I guess they managed to do
- 58:59that. Yeah, but it's important. It is, yes. It
- 59:00is important. And the run time, like, the show
- 59:04was well organized and on time and everything.
- 59:06Yeah. The... Graphics were atrocious. I think
- 59:14they had one score of like 33 to 2. What? On
- 59:20the scores, like the show on the screen. Yeah.
- 59:23Yeah, it said like 33 to 2 or something. Excellent.
- 59:28The stats that they follow or keep track of were
- 59:32attacks, attack percentage, and counters. All
- 59:39right. Yeah. They were keeping up with attacks.
- 59:44I see. Not body punches or jabs or power punches.
- 59:51Nope. None of it. Attacks. I didn't pay that
- 59:55much attention. That's the shit we're on. We're
- 59:59on attacks these days. They're dumbing it down
- 1:00:02to try and get the UFC fans to watch. UFC fans
- 1:00:07don't... know anything about fucking boxing true
- 1:00:11they like if you're a fight fan though you can
- 1:00:17have you watched the ufc yes i have to they they
- 1:00:22don't count jabs or kicks or fucking anything
- 1:00:25either true it's attacks and shoots and defenses
- 1:00:29kicks and punches yeah you're right yeah but
- 1:00:33they don't break them down into any categories
- 1:00:38like they do with boxing because UFC fans are
- 1:00:41too fucking stupid. That's not fair. I'm just
- 1:00:45in a bad mood. They're really dumbing it down
- 1:00:49to match to try and get the UFC fans over it.
- 1:00:53Zufa's trying to put the UFC model onto boxing.
- 1:01:00It's not going to work. It's not the same. It's
- 1:01:02a travesty. Also, this is a side rant. But the
- 1:01:08UFC wasn't as bad as it is now when they started.
- 1:01:11When they started, people got their own outfits.
- 1:01:13People got walkouts. The UFC started out being
- 1:01:18fun. I used to watch old UFC, like in the early
- 1:01:222000s. I actually did watch. But then they introduced
- 1:01:26all this fucking bullshit. And I think even Dana
- 1:01:31forgets how different early UFC was to what it
- 1:01:35is now. And how much better early UFC was. And
- 1:01:40that's why they had fans. People just stuck around
- 1:01:44because it was the only game. Well, let's move
- 1:01:52to some actual box. Saturday, January 24th. At
- 1:02:00the matchroom at the Fontainebleau. Let's start
- 1:02:03from the bottom. Zayquin Moses. Just beats the
- 1:02:07piss out of Leandro Medina. Actually, I missed
- 1:02:14these first two fights. I slept in. It's fine.
- 1:02:17Zayquin is a prospect as well, so it's still
- 1:02:22early. But he looks pretty damn good. Omari Jones.
- 1:02:31Towering Inferno 2 .0. He's like 6 '7", or something,
- 1:02:39at 154. And he beat the piss. Voxrec said 6 '1".
- 1:02:47No, he was way, way taller than Jerome Baxter.
- 1:02:51Okay, let's see what they say Jerome Baxter is.
- 1:02:54Jerome Baxter is listed at 5 '9". So that's a
- 1:02:574 -inch difference. Then I am remembering...
- 1:03:04Incorrectly. He just looked so much taller at
- 1:03:08the weigh -in and at the press conferences. Four
- 1:03:12inches is quite a bit. Yeah, it's not nothing.
- 1:03:17But yeah, he beat the piss out of Jerome Baxter.
- 1:03:20Easy peasy. Lemon squeezy. Israel Madrimov has
- 1:03:27an interesting night with Luis Salazar. It was
- 1:03:38a fight. Yeah. For all the talk about who Madrimov
- 1:03:44is supposed to be, who we thought he was, like
- 1:03:47the guy who had a decent fight with Terrence
- 1:03:50Crawford, he looked competent, at least. But
- 1:03:54he did not turn in a good performance here. I'm
- 1:04:00not sure what else to make of it. Maybe he's
- 1:04:02not all that. Yeah. I don't know. He... How do
- 1:04:12I put it? He's not very active as a fighter.
- 1:04:17He needs people coming at him because he's not
- 1:04:21going to go after anyone. Yeah. That's definitely
- 1:04:29not what Luis Salazar was there to do either.
- 1:04:33Yeah, it was a pretty shit fight. Speaking of
- 1:04:39shit fights, Khalil Coe, majority decision, question
- 1:04:43mark, over Jesse Hart. I think Jesse Hart should
- 1:04:49have won this one. I agree. I was not very happy
- 1:04:56with these scorecards. Overall, it wasn't a great
- 1:04:59fight either. No, it was pretty dirty. Yeah,
- 1:05:05there's the throw that Khalil Coe did. Yeah,
- 1:05:10just like suplexed him. Yeah, that was funny.
- 1:05:14Also, Coe missed weight. Eight pounds. Yeah,
- 1:05:20something crazy. Like, what the fuck are you
- 1:05:22doing, man? Also, that deduction on heart late.
- 1:05:29Not that it really would have made much difference.
- 1:05:32But that deduction on Hart late in the fight
- 1:05:35was kind of bullshit. I honestly thought Khalil
- 1:05:40Coe had gotten deducted again the first time.
- 1:05:44Yeah, I mean, they did give Hart one warning
- 1:05:47about holding, but then they just took the point,
- 1:05:51like, so fast. Yeah. It felt sleazy. Actually,
- 1:05:57I guess that was important because it would have
- 1:06:00been a tied fight. Mixed draw. Anyways, doesn't
- 1:06:11matter. It's bullshit. And it was not a fun fight
- 1:06:14to watch. Yeah, Khalil Coe, you should not be
- 1:06:19taking this and going back to your retreating
- 1:06:23and celebrating with this. It was not a good
- 1:06:27look for him. Oh, man. Good looks. Ray Murataya
- 1:06:35gets the majority decision over Andy Cruz to
- 1:06:38retain his IBF 135 title. This was a great fight.
- 1:06:44If anybody missed it, they need to go find it.
- 1:06:47This was an awesome fight. Yeah. High action,
- 1:06:53but still very technical. It was good. It's,
- 1:07:00uh, it was a good, I think a good, uh, showing
- 1:07:05of what it, what it looks like when, uh, a superb
- 1:07:10amateur fighter moves into the pros against a
- 1:07:15guy who like just had to grind his way up to
- 1:07:17the top. Yeah, I could. Yeah. I have to say though,
- 1:07:23Murataya really impressed me. I don't remember
- 1:07:26him having that good a defense. I don't either.
- 1:07:30He was fucking on point. He was making Andy Cruz
- 1:07:34miss a lot. And I don't remember Moritai of being
- 1:07:40that guy. I'm actually glad he won, but I wasn't
- 1:07:46expecting it. I had picked Andy Cruz in this
- 1:07:49fight. So did I. Murataya showed he has way more
- 1:07:54skills than he's been using, apparently. Yeah,
- 1:07:59that was pretty much what his entire post -fight
- 1:08:02interview was him saying. I demonstrated why
- 1:08:06I'm the champ. I didn't get elevated. It wasn't
- 1:08:12handed to me, just email title. I've earned my
- 1:08:16way to this spot. And yeah, you can see. You
- 1:08:21can see my talent on display. I was impressed
- 1:08:25with him. Andy Cruz looked good, but I wonder
- 1:08:32if he just doesn't have enough power for the
- 1:08:34pro game. Yeah, his power is definitely not as
- 1:08:43good as his short pro career has made us think
- 1:08:46it is. I would expect him... To adopt more of
- 1:08:52like a hit and move. Kind of style and not try
- 1:08:57to like standing in front of. Murataya did not
- 1:09:01pay dividends for him at all. No. But then you
- 1:09:07just turn into another like. Rigging down. Or
- 1:09:11a runner. Yeah. Anyways, it was a super good
- 1:09:16fight. People should go watch it. Yeah. And I
- 1:09:19do think the right guy won, but that one scorecard
- 1:09:22was fucking madness. 118 -110. Yeah, Tim Cheatham.
- 1:09:30Tim Cheatham. It's always Tim Cheatham. He has
- 1:09:34such shit scorecards. But I do think Moritaya
- 1:09:38deserved the win. It was just closer than that.
- 1:09:43This is an instance. Of something we've talked
- 1:09:48about before, where judges should have to be
- 1:09:52at the post -fight press conference. And they
- 1:09:55should have to take questions like, what the
- 1:09:57fuck score was that? Fucking explain yourself.
- 1:10:03I agree. I wish that they made them write down,
- 1:10:07like, just one word every round of why. Yeah,
- 1:10:12notes. Keep notes. Yeah. I know you don't want
- 1:10:17them, like, looking and writing while the boxing's
- 1:10:19going on, but just, like, round three, uh, Cruz
- 1:10:24hurt. Or round six, Murataya because... Uppercuts.
- 1:10:30Ring general shit. Like, effective aggression.
- 1:10:34Like, just do it in bullet point shorthand. Like,
- 1:10:38M because uppercut. Or something. So that we
- 1:10:45can see why you actually did it. And, I mean,
- 1:10:48people aren't going to agree, but if you have
- 1:10:51to provide a reason... Or even just mark swing
- 1:10:56rounds. Like, yeah, this round was really close,
- 1:11:00but you gotta pick a winner, so... Yeah, we're
- 1:11:04not doing 10 -10s anymore. Not that America did
- 1:11:09much, but I just mean even if they just marked
- 1:11:12rounds that were swing rounds, I thought this
- 1:11:14maybe could have went either way, but I had to
- 1:11:18pick somebody and I decided on Marataya. Yeah.
- 1:11:22Because there were a few swing rounds in this
- 1:11:25fight. Early fight of the year contender. For
- 1:11:34me, it's there right now. Yeah, I suspect there'll
- 1:11:37be some fucking war that I like a lot more. But
- 1:11:41for skilled technical boxing, there's definitely
- 1:11:45fight of the year. All right. Upcoming stuff.
- 1:11:53They finally put it out. The headline matchroom
- 1:11:58in Guadalajara. On February 6th. The headline
- 1:12:05is Christian Medina versus Adrian Curiel for
- 1:12:07the WBO Bantamweight Championship. Nice. I don't
- 1:12:13recognize anyone else on the card. But I'm expecting
- 1:12:19Mexican -style wars. Which are always fun. I
- 1:12:27mean, you don't need to recognize the names on
- 1:12:29Mexican cards, usually. Moving to the last one.
- 1:12:38Saturday, February 7th, Queensbury at the Echo
- 1:12:41Arena in Liverpool. This is going to be fucking
- 1:12:45five hours long. There's so many fights on here.
- 1:12:48Yeah. Not a whole lot of name recognition for
- 1:12:55me. I don't see, I think the, I recognize Jack
- 1:12:59Turner. Maybe. These are very English names.
- 1:13:07Yeah, it's all it's all Queensbury like prospects
- 1:13:12and stuff. So whatever. The main Nick Ball versus
- 1:13:17Brandon Figueroa for Ball's WBA featherweight
- 1:13:22title. This is going to be hilarious. This is
- 1:13:29like a cartoon. I believe this is a seven inch
- 1:13:33height difference. Yeah. I don't know, man. I
- 1:13:40don't think Nick Ball can just get his way in
- 1:13:45there. He's gonna have to fucking jump to hit
- 1:13:47Figueroa in the face. He did fight Ray Vargas.
- 1:13:56Did he? Yeah, that was a pretty big height difference.
- 1:14:00Yeah, and he did not win that. No, he didn't.
- 1:14:06That's a bigger height difference. Vargas is
- 1:14:09taller. I don't know. I just think this is going
- 1:14:16to look like a fucking cartoon. I also don't
- 1:14:20really like Nick Ball, so I'm going to cheer
- 1:14:22for Figueroa. Even though he always looks like
- 1:14:25he's wearing eye makeup. He just looks fantastic.
- 1:14:31He looks fabulous. He does. But yeah, that's
- 1:14:40it for our upcoming cards. It's a light weekend.
- 1:14:46Wow, this weekend's so stacked. Yeah, I think...
- 1:14:52No, the Super Bowl is on February 8th. So, yeah.
- 1:15:02No Zufa this weekend. Fair enough. Super Bowl.
- 1:15:12Patriots versus Seahawks. I have watched zero
- 1:15:20NFL this year. Yeah, I haven't either. My fantasy
- 1:15:23team sucked. Although, so I finished the regular
- 1:15:27season in fantasy at We have 10 teams and I finished
- 1:15:32at nine, but I won two playoff games. So I ended
- 1:15:35up finishing at like fourth, which is pretty
- 1:15:38good. Let me do this. What if your best thinking

- 1:18:31I don't really got any right today. Pro box good,
- 1:18:38I guess. In the rumors. Espinoza, the 126 champ,
- 1:18:50the super tall lanky guy. Yep. It's looking like
- 1:18:56he's going to fight in a unification fight with
- 1:18:59Angelo Leo. That could be fun. Yeah. I like Angelo.
- 1:19:11Yeah, that should be a really good fight. Yeah.
- 1:19:14Yeah, actual parting words. It's officially the
- 1:19:19start of spring in Japan. And the other day I
- 1:19:22was crossing the river to walk to work and it
- 1:19:26was just full of tiny fish. They're like maybe
- 1:19:31large sardine size. And like the water was just,
- 1:19:35you couldn't see water. You could only see fish.
- 1:19:40Yeah, you put a video of that in Discord, right?
- 1:19:43Yeah, yeah. My phone doesn't take very good.
- 1:19:47videos, my camera sucks. But even in my shit
- 1:19:50video, you can see it's just full of fish. So
- 1:19:54that's pretty cool. I like to stop and watch
- 1:19:57the fish for a couple minutes on my way to work.
- 1:20:02I guess parting words, enjoy nature where you
- 1:20:05can, even if you can't leave the city. Because
- 1:20:07the birds should be coming back to America and
- 1:20:10other places soon too. Yeah, enjoy nature. That's
- 1:20:16a good one. My parting words, man. I got a jury
- 1:20:20summons. Nice. It's the first time in my life
- 1:20:24I've ever gotten one. That's exciting. I guess.
- 1:20:30I don't know. I had to register online and now
- 1:20:36I have to wait if they call me. Right. if they
- 1:20:44call i don't know yeah gotta do your civic duty
- 1:20:48i guess yeah i'm not i'm not uh not like bummed
- 1:20:53that i have to or anything just just weird i
- 1:20:56didn't know i kind of stopped started believing
- 1:20:59this was it was a gimmick that nobody gets randomly
- 1:21:04called for this shit it doesn't happen i've gone
- 1:21:07my entire adult life without it It happened to
- 1:21:11my brother a couple years ago, and I was like,
- 1:21:14it'll be some parking ticket or something that
- 1:21:17somebody's fighting. He didn't get chosen, but
- 1:21:22it did turn out to be a murder case. He's like,
- 1:21:25oh, thank God. He's like, I did not want to be
- 1:21:28on that jury. But yeah, he lived too far away,
- 1:21:32basically. Man, I've never been summoned. I don't
- 1:21:37know anyone that's ever been summoned. I don't
- 1:21:41know. Man, I thought it was a joke. But get ready.
- 1:21:46Did you fucking ice somebody on the street? Maybe
- 1:21:53that camera's a little too blurry and I can't
- 1:21:56tell. We do need sponsors for the podcast. But
- 1:22:04that's it for this edition of the Civic Duty
- 1:22:09Podcast. boxing before dark catch you next time
