Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Direct from Hollywood with Ryan Seacrest. Two years after her
- 0:04Speaker 1: breakout hit You Broke Me First, Tate mcgray's delivered her
- 0:06Speaker 1: new debut album, I used to think I could fly.
- 0:08Speaker 1: And even though Tate's already achieved so much for being
- 0:11Speaker 1: only eighteen, she admits to songwriter Universe she started having
- 0:14Speaker 1: bouts with self doubt while making the record, and that
- 0:17Speaker 1: album title is a nod to what she was going through,
- 0:20Speaker 1: she says, and no kids seems to have a fear
- 0:22Speaker 1: or an insecurity what real life is like. And I
- 0:24Speaker 1: think it's really shocking when you grew up and realize
- 0:25Speaker 1: the harsh reality of growing up. I've been a pretty
- 0:28Speaker 1: fearless person, but for the first time, I had a
- 0:30Speaker 1: big identity crisis. And this is in the middle of
- 0:32Speaker 1: writing my album. It was the first time I questioned
- 0:34Speaker 1: my word. I think that happens when you get older,
- 0:36Speaker 1: so I wanted to represent that in my songs about
- 0:38Speaker 1: an eighteen year old who got smacked in the face
- 0:40Speaker 1: by reality for the first time. Take adds it making
- 0:43Speaker 1: music and being able to dance to it is all
- 0:45Speaker 1: she ever wanted to do, so it's incredibly special to her.
- 0:47Speaker 1: I used to think I Could Fly is out now.
- 0:50Speaker 1: That's direct from Hollywood.
