Latest / No Latency / S2E128 - Book Swap
Transcript
- 0:02Last time on no latency. Because we're going to get you
- 0:05that damn book. So the Dean hired you and a
- 0:09teacher from here to do this. We know people.
- 0:12We know people. Guys, I got eyes on the other
- 0:14guy, the teacher. Oh.
- 0:17No. Good to see you again too,
- 0:19Professor. Sounds like university
- 0:21negligence to me. The.
- 0:23Person that owns the property. My back.
- 0:25Is liable for damage. Should we join Jeff on the roof?
- 0:28Don't worry you guys. What?
- 0:30What is a Jeb? I want to.
- 0:31Send you a quick. Picture That's a firebomb.
- 0:33This here's a stick up Oh. Shit, that's that's Professor
- 0:37Allegris. Oh, that's a, that's a that's a
- 0:39little tighter of a grip that. But I mean, Jeb wouldn't.
- 0:42But if I don't do this, not only does he kill my mother, he also
- 0:46blackmails me. I just want to teach.
- 0:49Hello. Hello.
- 1:01Yes, within this amount of time have have I retro been able to
- 1:06put together the the drone? Back.
- 1:08Yes, roll for it. Before I do the role actually,
- 1:14can I add? Can I make some addendums as
- 1:17well to I guess potentially roll for as well?
- 1:21One of the things that I would like to do is I would like to
- 1:24use the memory system within it to gain access to the, you know,
- 1:32security protocols, all of that connection information yes, if
- 1:36you. Roll.
- 1:37If you roll well enough, of course you do.
- 1:39Yep, and also hopefully be able to find the same way that Ram
- 1:43said was able to make himself disappear off of these.
- 1:50Retro, you rolled 44 on electronic security tech.
- 1:54You put the drone back together and what you discover is it's
- 1:57designed to fall apart. It comes back together, all the
- 2:02little pieces. Some of them have a bit of BBS
- 2:03blood on them, but they go back together and there's a lot of
- 2:06redundant parts on the inside about 30 scrap worth of scrap
- 2:12just the right amount you need and you you pocket that amount.
- 2:16Obviously pulling it out, You find access into the lowest end
- 2:21of the security network and Rams heads facial scan is on the
- 2:25white list, which means the system has a copy of its facial
- 2:28scan. There's a a pro and a con to
- 2:31that, but the drone has now been repaired and you can choose when
- 2:36to turn it on, although it's lens has been left blurry
- 2:40because you've left it unfocused.
- 2:42That's fine, it'll fly around, everyone will think it's
- 2:44working, but actually if you review the footage it's just
- 2:47mush. Yeah, as soon as I get that
- 2:50fixed, I'm I'm assuming that that's when the call from the
- 2:55professor has happened. Absolutely.
- 2:57I would like to I would like to use my access now with this
- 3:00drone to have it fly up and smash into the professor's head.
- 3:13Great, I love it. Who thought nobody knew this was
- 3:17going to happen? Who made this up?
- 3:19I didn't plan for this shit. This is fantastic.
- 3:23You Chuck the drone onto the roof and it flies towards the
- 3:28professor. The only way, and I'll do it in
- 3:33front of you. The only way he dodges this is
- 3:35if he rolls A10. Does not roll A10, rolls at 4:00
- 3:41and it smacks them on the head and Jeb gets free to the ground
- 3:44and they both roll away to each other.
- 3:47Although he does still have Jeb's tile in his hand.
- 3:54Oh, wait, wait, hold on. Were you teaching me just now or
- 4:01were you a? Little A little of lecture hall
- 4:04A. A little of lecture hall B.
- 4:07Oh, ma'am. And he deletes the photograph
- 4:12off your tile. Shit, I should have sent it.
- 4:17You also should have blocked it, that was dumb and he throws it
- 4:22back at you. Well, I mean, thank you.
- 4:27Hey, look, if we're just going to be kind of doing this, look,
- 4:32the point is to save the books, to save the school and in doing
- 4:38so to get your, your boss fired. So I, I, I really think we're on
- 4:43the same team here, Prof. Yeah, you see, I don't want to
- 4:49lose my job. Well, you won't.
- 4:53I mean, would you? Why would you?
- 4:57You were you were going to blackmail me and say that I was
- 4:59going to set it on fire. Well, yeah, the, the
- 5:03blackmailing was to make sure that, you know, you would help
- 5:07us get your boss fired. Did that?
- 5:10Was that not? Going to sell that.
- 5:11That's worth a lot of money, really.
- 5:14What? That doesn't make any logical
- 5:16sense. Are you not logical?
- 5:26I suppose it depends on who you ask.
- 5:32So you're just going to not use that against me?
- 5:36Well, we would. We were going to not use it
- 5:38against you in so far as you helped us out.
- 5:43That's I feel like that's usually how blackmail goes.
- 5:46Is this the first time you've been blackmailed?
- 5:48No, but I. Most people it's night City,
- 5:52most people double dip. Most people would sell that to
- 5:54someone for a rumor and blackmail me and get some extra
- 5:56money for the rumor itself. You double.
- 5:58You're not. Oh.
- 6:01Something. I see, I see.
- 6:02That's where. Well, Nah, I don't think I'd do
- 6:07that. Look at that.
- 6:12So you're going to deal with a Dean?
- 6:16Well, yeah, you want to help? Sure.
- 6:21I mean, from what I like, I didn't, I didn't go to school
- 6:24here. I've really never been to any
- 6:25real real school. But from all my friends say that
- 6:30he's a bit of a Jackass, a bit of an asshole, a bit of a
- 6:36another word. Yeah, I I am normally not
- 6:42someone who celebrates anyone, but if he could like never speak
- 6:50again, this place would be better.
- 6:53When you say that, do you mean like literally?
- 6:55Because I feel like we do know a Ripper talk maybe, maybe she
- 6:59could, you know, sew his mouth shut or something?
- 7:02Or was that more metaphorical speaking?
- 7:06Hey, man. OK, no, I get it.
- 7:09You when you wink like that, I know exactly what you mean.
- 7:12Hey VV. Yeah.
- 7:16You ever you ever saw a man's mouth shut?
- 7:22I can't say I have yet. OK, but it's doable is what
- 7:27you're saying? Yeah, it would probably be
- 7:35painful and require sedation, but it's doable.
- 7:39Hey, Professor. Professor, great news, she says.
- 7:42It's doable. OK, so you're just going to deal
- 7:48with the Dean and I can get back to teaching?
- 7:51Yeah, and great news, your your mom not in danger.
- 7:55We we actually took care of the other guy too.
- 7:59Wow, it must be rolling really well.
- 8:02Oh, you know, it's hasn't been too bad of a day so far,
- 8:06actually. So if if you don't mind, if you
- 8:08could just go ahead and, you know, grapple yourself off the
- 8:11roof. My friends are just right down
- 8:13there. And you said that this this
- 8:16thing here is just right above where the books are.
- 8:19Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't.
- 8:21Don't go in that hatch right there.
- 8:23Right. But if I did, that would lead to
- 8:26where the the second 2nd edition copy of many.
- 8:30Of it would be like a drone that watches down there too so.
- 8:33Gotcha, gotcha. All right.
- 8:34Will you know, professor, it's, it's been a pleasure, truly.
- 8:38OK, I've learned a lot from you And you know, you've given me a
- 8:41bit of, a bit of a passion for, for the mechanical that I never
- 8:46really really understood. But I I think I'm starting to
- 8:51starting to get why retro is into all these doohickeys.
- 8:55Retro. That was his name?
- 8:59Fuck that would have bugged me for ages.
- 9:01Yeah, yeah, Richo, not a problem Sir.
- 9:05Yeah, take Care now. And.
- 9:07He takes you at your word and jumps off the roof.
- 9:10Good guy, good guy. Well, just going to go ahead and
- 9:14squeeze through this hatch here did.
- 9:21We take care of that firebomb or what?
- 9:24Oh yeah, did it basically all by myself.
- 9:27Wow. Yeah.
- 9:29Jeb, did we just offer to sew the Dean's mouth shut?
- 9:39Yeah. OK.
- 9:43Is that is that actually happening?
- 9:48Asheb did you mean? Metaphorically or not, Jeb.
- 9:54Well, I think he, I think that he meant not metaphorically.
- 9:58And I wasn't sure if he could even be done, but you said it
- 10:00could be done. But.
- 10:04Yeah, yeah. I I mean, yes, it could be done.
- 10:09If that just would require us to get the Dean, I don't know.
- 10:13Knock him out and take care of it.
- 10:17You know, OK, OK. Idea.
- 10:20No, you don't have to. But it he's gonna fight back.
- 10:26That's what straps are for. Wise, OK, you really did learn a
- 10:33lot coming to their school, didn't you?
- 10:35Oh yeah. I learned a lot.
- 10:40Well, great news. Go ahead, I.
- 10:44Was going to say looked like things worked out well with the
- 10:46professor. I mean I don't know exactly what
- 10:50happened. I totally forgot that he used to
- 10:53be, well, not used to be. He still practices his martial
- 10:57art teachings. So you know, good good good work
- 11:02on the disabling him without. Having yeah, I did think it was
- 11:05funny that on his name tag it said Professor slash Sensei.
- 11:12Yeah, well, he is a teacher of both, so.
- 11:16Yeah, I could see that. The honorifics are important
- 11:21anyways, Yeah. Are are are we doing this sewing
- 11:26mouth shut? I mean, I know that we're
- 11:28essentially metaphorically, but I don't know if we're actually
- 11:31physically doing it too. And then are are are we breaking
- 11:36into to the steal the book as well?
- 11:39Oh yeah, I'm basically right on top of it.
- 11:41There's a bit of a problem though.
- 11:43There is a drone kind of, well, milling about.
- 11:50Oh, Jeff, can you take a selfie for me real quick?
- 11:53Just. Send me a selfie.
- 11:55Selfie like just. Take one right now.
- 11:57Right now, yeah, yeah, sure. I'm like, good, Jake.
- 12:05Jeff, no, Jeff, I need, I need another selfie.
- 12:07Sorry, sorry, I forgot. You can't do that big lovable
- 12:11smile. I it's not going to be.
- 12:12I need you to have one that's like like you can have a small
- 12:14smile that's like lips close together, but but you can't have
- 12:17your teeth like showing you I. I I oh, gotcha gotcha.
- 12:20So like a like a rally smirk. Yes, that's a good one.
- 12:24Yes, with your rakishly handsome look.
- 12:28Roll roll acting to not overdo this.
- 12:34Oh, 10? As long as you are at least 10
- 12:38feet away, this should work. All right, I'm going to take
- 12:42that second photo that Jeb sent me and I'm going to upload that
- 12:47to the security network, hopefully in the same way for
- 12:50like how Rams head was done. So sure, ignore him.
- 12:53The the drone did try and make its way back to where it last
- 12:57knew it was because it can't see very well and you managed to
- 13:00install this through the network Jeb roll to open the Hatch Oh my
- 13:10God yes you make your way into the room you appear as you land
- 13:19beating the DV of this room. I'd like.
- 13:22To like, slowly lower myself down with the grappling hook.
- 13:27Sure. Yeah, you roll 32.
- 13:29You can do this however you like, but you end up right
- 13:30there, 15 feet away from the drone to your West, OK?
- 13:38Team, There's a bit of a drone issue going on, but I am in.
- 13:46Oh my God. Look at that on the pedestal.
- 13:50It's the second edition of Winnie the Pooh.
- 13:56Looks like there's looks like there might be pressure
- 14:00sensitive glares. Any ideas?
- 14:05Well, let me think here first. Heads up, as long as you're 10
- 14:11feet away from a drone, they're going to ignore you, so keep
- 14:14that in mind. OK, so stay as close as possible
- 14:18to the drone. That seems fucking crazy.
- 14:21I said keep at least 10 feet away from.
- 14:24Away, away, away. Got it.
- 14:26Yeah, got it. Jeff.
- 14:28Still still stick to stay away from drone, but if they get
- 14:32close then that's not going to it didn't matter anyways.
- 14:34Just stay away from drone 2. Is the Gutenberg Bible locked
- 14:42up? Wasn't that just returned?
- 14:47Oh no, no, you you returned it a while ago.
- 14:51You can use the Gutenberg, you can use another one.
- 14:54Just Jeb, go pick up the book, not having it leave whatever it
- 15:01is, just kind of feel how much it weighs.
- 15:03Find a book that feels the same weight and then just swips up.
- 15:10Swips up. OK.
- 15:15All right. OK, going to go over here to
- 15:19Priceless artifacts section and let's see HI note wrong way and
- 15:31CDEF Gutenberg. Roll library search.
- 15:44Everyone has to roll it at least once in this one.
- 15:46Yes. Must be education, right?
- 15:55How is it not under education? Oh wait, no it's not.
- 16:00What it is in library it is it's.
- 16:02It's in the it's. In the.
- 16:03Oh, there it is. I see it.
- 16:05Oh, thank you. OK, OK.
- 16:11Library Search 11. It's not very good, but OK it
- 16:17does. It does.
- 16:18However, I will say looking up a book in a well organized library
- 16:22is an easy task. You should try it at home.
- 16:25You should go and check out your local library, because even you
- 16:28can roll above a very basic DV 9 and find exactly the book that
- 16:33you're looking for. Because that's the Dewey Decimal
- 16:39System at work. Yes, or even a convenient
- 16:43electronic looking up computer. Amazing.
- 16:47So. Last time you checked out, some
- 16:49Microchief libraries sing. The, the, the, the Gutenberg
- 16:58Bible is like, really heavy, right?
- 17:02Yeah. Yeah.
- 17:04OK, Yeah. Because it was like you find the
- 17:06complete Far Side gallery edition which is about the same
- 17:11weight. No, not the far side.
- 17:14OK, OK, let's see. Farsight, HIJKLLAR, Larson.
- 17:24Larson. OK.
- 17:26OK, these are Jeb knows Larson. Yeah, a Washington state hero.
- 17:39All right, OK, here's the swap. Swap.
- 17:47Roll for it. I'm trying to find the silliest
- 17:52thing I could possibly roll that would make set up what
- 17:55accounting. Amazing.
- 17:59If this. Is accounting.
- 18:00Then what is you know, you're, you're, you're balancing the
- 18:03books. Inspiration.
- 18:09That's a Golden Pond Inspiration 10.
- 18:16Would you actually roll? You're out of five.
- 18:19Yeah, you're on a 10. Libraries are incredibly easy.
- 18:28You beat ADV 9. It is a simple task to swap the
- 18:32book. You swap the book into the end
- 18:35of this very row. There's a little presentation
- 18:40area for a book and it's got a little weighted pad on the
- 18:42bottom. You do it quickly enough,
- 18:47however it takes a little longer than you would like and you are
- 18:50dangerously close to being seen by a drone.
- 18:53Because you did not roll high enough, you now have to roll
- 18:55evasion. OK, I'm just going to dive
- 18:59behind this bookshelf. Sprain my ankle.
- 19:08That is, is that where you use the inspiration I just gave you?
- 19:16Oh yeah. Oh wow, Yeah, you just.
- 19:21Really. Oh.
- 19:21Well, you held on to that for a long time, Spoon.
- 19:23Well done, you're on a crit fable -4 and then came back with
- 19:33your inspiration. I literally just gave you with a
- 19:3723. You dive back into the bookshelf
- 19:42and you. I have to think that like.
- 19:43A A book fell and I grab it and then I see that the drone is
- 19:47like gonna be right in front of me and so I just open the book
- 19:50in front of my face. You do, and you you open the
- 19:54book in front of your face and slide onto the ground.
- 19:57The drone keeps moving and misses you.
- 20:01You watch the drone disappear out to keep going back and forth
- 20:05in this section of the library, and as you look down at the
- 20:08book, it's a copy of Winnie the Pooh.
- 20:12OK. Folks, welcome to dungeons and
- 20:27Randomness. Since 2012, myself and an
- 20:30amazing cast of 18 have been telling stories in our home brew
- 20:34world of Theria. Four different groups explore
- 20:37lost ruins, run for political office, Rage Against a mad king,
- 20:41set sail to long forgotten islands and so much more.
- 20:45Every group has a different story and flavour, and every
- 20:48season or arc has a new set of groups and stories, all building
- 20:53the history of our world with every single session.
- 20:56Literally hundreds of hours of stories are waiting for you as
- 20:59part of the Pickaxe network. Check out Dungeons and
- 21:02Randomness wherever you get your podcasts and we'll see you
- 21:06around the table all. Right, throw those in the bag
- 21:16and OK, just going to quickly there goes the drone and make a
- 21:23break for it. How are you getting out of here?
- 21:28Through the Hatch again. Cool, roll for it.
- 21:32And that was the the sound of my fucking sure grappling hook.
- 21:41If I can find there we. Go 22 hooked.
- 21:45On Phonics today. And just as Retro makes that pun
- 21:51inspiration Retro very good. I enjoy these puns, everybody.
- 21:55Jeb makes it out of the Hatch and the drone passes underneath
- 22:00him and keeps going back and forth, jumps off the side of the
- 22:05building and rejoins the crew. How'd it go, Jeb?
- 22:12Well, I'm going to be honest, I don't feel great about stealing
- 22:17these books from the library. But you know, back in the day
- 22:21they used to let you take the the physical books out of the
- 22:24library for a time being before you had to bring them back.
- 22:27At least that's what I hear. So think about it.
- 22:30We're kind of doing it the old fashioned way.
- 22:34Yeah, yeah. There's there's nothing better
- 22:38than being able to leave with an actual physical copy in your
- 22:40hands, you know? Feels good.
- 22:43It does. So should I call Ram's head?
- 22:47Yeah, yeah, yeah. Send.
- 22:50Oh, hear, hear. Everyone, everyone gather
- 22:51around. Ever gather around.
- 22:53There's a bit of a bit of a bit of a there has been a bit of a
- 22:56motif of photos in this episode. So why don't we cap it off with
- 23:00a nice group picture with the the second edition of Winnie the
- 23:05Pooh in the front? Sure, and we'll send it to Ram's
- 23:08head. Yeah.
- 23:10Genius inspired Raven. You guys take a selfie, everyone
- 23:16roll to see how good the selfie is.
- 23:18Personal grooming. Personal grooming.
- 23:22Don't forget that VB now gets a plus to wardrobe and style as
- 23:26well. Yes, it is.
- 23:28One SEC. I had to close all my stuff.
- 23:32Would you mind rolling? Yeah, no, you're fine.
- 23:35Thank you. Do you want wardrobe and style
- 23:37or personal grooming? Personal grooming because I was
- 23:39a hair stylist. That's right, I.
- 23:42Push. I push the hair out of my face
- 23:44and then I push the hair I blow on Bendel's face to like fluff
- 23:50the hair away from and like interface framies.
- 23:54Yeah, yes. Bendel will also roll wardrobe
- 24:00in style. No personal grooming since they
- 24:03are the same. I rolled A crit baby.
- 24:10I'm on fire today, even Bell. Yeah, I'm honey you.
- 24:13Look hard as hell. We all look.
- 24:15You are honey as as fuck. This is probably the best photo
- 24:20I've ever seen of you. Wow, actually wow.
- 24:22There's my daily photo I've seen of you besides your badge.
- 24:26Yeah, yeah, it's a shame we can't post it because we've got
- 24:29a stolen book in the picture. Damn.
- 24:32Oh, that's fine. Here, watch and I'll.
- 24:33Just both Phoebe and I look amazing.
- 24:36Look, there you go. Now the book's gone.
- 24:40Oh. Nice, that's a good idea.
- 24:43Look at that. That's so good.
- 24:44We'll send the first one to Ram's head though, and.
- 24:48OK, there you go. They sent back an eggplant
- 24:52emoji. What does that mean?
- 24:54Oh dear. Oh.
- 24:57They're hungry for vegetables. That he he's very excited about
- 25:02the book. OK, that's good.
- 25:06Yeah. Nice.
- 25:08All right, so we've got that. Ram's head isn't on his way
- 25:10back. The professor's dealt with.
- 25:13Did you sort it out, Jeb? Oh yeah, professor's all all
- 25:16set, so. What does he need us to do?
- 25:19He needs us to sew the Dean's mouth shut.
- 25:25Excuse me, what? Yeah.
- 25:28Yeah. Yeah, that, that's the thing.
- 25:34You know, what we could do is we could there was no real, you
- 25:39know, time frame on that. So why don't we just go ahead
- 25:42and send the press all of the necessary things to get him
- 25:48fired and, you know, probably arrested and then we can sew his
- 25:54mouth shut. But.
- 25:56What if he what if he didn't he like, threaten the teacher's
- 25:59mother or something because he could just hire someone else?
- 26:04Yeah. And we don't really have, I
- 26:05don't think, much evidence that's conclusive, do we?
- 26:09No how? About this, I think Phoebe and I
- 26:17should go and confront the professor, mainly because he's
- 26:21already on edge dealing with us too.
- 26:25In the meantime, while Jeb has been doing that, I've taken the
- 26:28last of the scrap that we've taken from the drone to finish
- 26:33the last. Satellite.
- 26:36Dish and Jeb and Iona do know how to set that up from last
- 26:40time, right? OK.
- 26:42So all right, Iona, we're going to have to get back on the roof.
- 26:48Iona gives you a steely glance. Oh, right.
- 26:52Sorry. All right, you guys go and sew
- 26:58some guy's mouth shut. Have have fun.
- 27:05Did you want me on Team Mouth sewing or on Team Rooftop?
- 27:12You weren't very helpful with the the transponder on the roof
- 27:15at the Hillview if I'm on. There and you sign me up for
- 27:18this so. Yeah.
- 27:21All right. You're going to have to hold
- 27:22them down. Fine, it looks like it's time
- 27:26for the Dean's Anatomy class. Looks like we made the Dean's
- 27:32list. Nice.
- 27:36VV have you got 1? No, those aren't too good.
- 27:40It's it's time for the Dean to learn a lesson that was that.
- 27:47Was pretty good. Pretty good.
- 27:50Pretty solid. OK, yes, yes.
- 27:52So one more time, who's who's doing the sewing?
- 27:58Probably me. We're just heading straight to
- 28:03the Dean's office right now. Or should we follow him to his
- 28:06home? I suppose we do.
- 28:08Got to keep our promise. In his office.
- 28:14We're going to do it in his office, not in his home.
- 28:19I just there are more cameras inside of an office than there
- 28:22are inside of his home I would imagine.
- 28:24These days. You don't know what kind of
- 28:26freak he is. That's a good point.
- 28:31I don't have anything to say to that, You're right.
- 28:34We should ask, where is he? Is he at his office?
- 28:36Because maybe we just get it done.
- 28:39Yeah, yeah, we know. I thought we were just going to
- 28:41get this done and over with now so we can draw on with our
- 28:45lives. I'd love to move on with our
- 28:47lives, I mean. Reggie, can you just, oh, I
- 28:49don't know, like turn the cameras off?
- 28:54Good point. That's a good idea.
- 28:56I didn't think of that should do that.
- 29:00OK. Is that is that what you're
- 29:02going to do? Turn the cameras off.
- 29:04Oh, OK. I think we've come up with our
- 29:06plan. Turn the cameras off.
- 29:08Just do it here. Just do it.
- 29:10Right here. Well, I do, I do have I do have
- 29:13access to security cameras to the drone, so.
- 29:19Well. Perfect.
- 29:20I think our plan is going to work.
- 29:24Right. Good.
- 29:28Now if only the dice all correctly.
- 29:35That's all. That's all that it's up to at
- 29:37this point. Chance.
- 29:39Fate. Right.
- 29:41There's always an element of luck with these things, and so
- 29:47we wait. Roll for it.
- 29:49Or the die roll. Yes.
- 29:52What am I rolling? I don't know what are you
- 29:54rolling. I don't know, I do.
- 29:55Roll to turn camera off. Roll camera switch.
- 30:00I didn't even know I was rolling.
- 30:02I also didn't know. I was like, what are you
- 30:05rolling? He's waiting on who to to roll.
- 30:07It's going to be electronic security tech.
- 30:09Roll press button. Oh.
- 30:12What did you get? Nope. 14.
- 30:14Roll I've ever seen on this four.
- 30:16You're. On the 40. 4 on electronic
- 30:20security tech. Yeah, you do that cool loop
- 30:22thing. Oh yeah, I I pulled the the
- 30:26speed maneuver. But but if you don't make a
- 30:31mistake of having someone be a bad loop.
- 30:34Yes, make sure that they're all, all the hallways and stuff are
- 30:38empty. So at the Dean's office, he's
- 30:41just there. I don't know what a Dean does in
- 30:45his office. Because you rolled so high, you
- 30:47can see that he is picking his nose.
- 30:50I mean, of course that makes sense.
- 30:52What a pervert. Sorry.
- 30:57Just randomly sticking objects and orifices in his body at
- 31:02work. I mean, come on.
- 31:04Remy, thank you for turning off the camera.
- 31:07Could we go? Well, yeah, yeah.
- 31:12Are we splitting up or are we all going to do that and then
- 31:16doing the satellite dish? I can I can give you moral
- 31:20support while you soak some guy's mouth shut, Vivi, but, but
- 31:24that's about as much as I can do.
- 31:26OK. Or maybe you could just at least
- 31:28like, keep a lookout. Outside of the room I can do
- 31:32that. Yes.
- 31:35I'll just be in here or out there.
- 31:40I'll be in either side of the door and I'll just make sure no
- 31:43one comes in. I I don't really know what else
- 31:47to do. Maybe I should just stay away.
- 31:50Should I just stay out here? You've you've done a good job.
- 31:53Do you want, do you want to help me install the thing on the roof
- 31:57now that we have a satellite dish?
- 31:59Oh well, there you go. I feel much better doing that.
- 32:02Let's do that. Let's do that.
- 32:03That's a good idea. Now we have a plan and I don't
- 32:06have to be in the room when someone's much so sorry.
- 32:11Well, I had put us outside of the room, but that's perfect.
- 32:17Let's do you want to come to the roof Iona do you do you?
- 32:20No, you don't. You don't want to come.
- 32:21You want to watch the mouth be. No, I'm going to stand outside
- 32:24the room and hear it apparently is what I've decided I'm going
- 32:27to do. Oh.
- 32:28That's so horrible. All right, so I get who's the
- 32:32muscle? Who's going to pan down?
- 32:34Pan into are we? Wait, hold on.
- 32:38Are we sewing a mouth of a man? Are we doing that?
- 32:42Or is that a metaphor for just keeping him quiet?
- 32:46Are we? We're actually doing this.
- 32:50But why? Well, you see, it's important
- 32:56that when you say something, you mean it, and when you mean
- 32:59something, you carry through but.
- 33:02Couldn't he just, like, get it undone?
- 33:05Or you can. It's a very temporary process,
- 33:08but I'll tell you one thing. It's going to hurt and it's
- 33:12probably going to, I think I mean the plan.
- 33:16Let's listen folks. If we want to, if we want to
- 33:18kind of, you know, back up a little bit and maybe do this
- 33:23more humanely. Maybe we maybe we put him out
- 33:25completely, but then he wakes up and he looks himself and goes,
- 33:28Oh my God. Of course he's not saying this.
- 33:30He's just thinking it because he can't say it because his mouth
- 33:32is. Jeb, you're the one who got us
- 33:35into this in the 1st place. You're the one that agreed to.
- 33:38I just think that if there's one thing that's going to make a man
- 33:41think about saying things he shouldn't, it's sewing his mouth
- 33:46shut. You mean like setting a library
- 33:47on fire? I'm just I, I definitely, I
- 33:52think we should knock him out before we do because I don't
- 33:54want him to know that I'm the one that did it, even though
- 33:57you're the one that threatened him.
- 33:58So he's going to know that he. Won't know.
- 34:03And do we want to just knock him out and take him somewhere, or
- 34:08are we just knocking him out and sewing his mouth shut?
- 34:12Oh, no, we're doing it here. Let's I mean, I've already, I've
- 34:15already done the work. I've already turned off the
- 34:17cameras. Let's just just get it knocked
- 34:19down now. You know, like I don't want to
- 34:21have to carry him all the way to some place and then like to wait
- 34:25to watch. I want to.
- 34:25I want to watch the show. And once we leak all the
- 34:31information to the press about him wanting to burn down the
- 34:36priceless artifacts of books, then maybe maybe he'll think
- 34:40about it. And then we could even tell the
- 34:43journalist, the journalist could put a little a ditty on it, a
- 34:45little a little sentence at the end.
- 34:47Maybe that kind of poetically ties the fact that maybe burning
- 34:52down the library and and losing all this information is kind of
- 34:57burning books is kind of like so when the mouth shut of society.
- 35:02You mean silencing the those who protest?
- 35:05That's right. So it's a beautiful metaphor.
- 35:10Punishment, you know. Beautiful metaphor, Jeb.
- 35:12I'm just I'm just this may moon this into serial killer
- 35:16territory so I'm just checking. It's not serial killer if we're
- 35:20not killing them. Don't point at me like that
- 35:25Vivi. I understand that that is a good
- 35:26point. Like sadistic may I I'll take
- 35:32sadistic, but serial killer No, this is this is all out of
- 35:36passion, man. It's not like we planned this.
- 35:39This guy is not a good guy so. You wanted to burn down a
- 35:46library for money. He's a total asshole, so I think
- 35:53he does. This is the like.
- 35:55He'll recover, he'll be fine. This is just teaching him a
- 35:59lesson. Next time on no latency what?
- 36:17Code word do you want? Oh yeah, it's important.
- 36:20Feel like we're the mafia now. Don't have any sedative.
- 36:22Quietly go in and sedate him and then do this all right make.
- 36:25Haste. I feel like we don't get a lot
- 36:27of one-on-one time. Just me and you.
- 36:28Who? Hasn't been found naked in the
- 36:30hallway at some point in their life.
- 36:32Make my way in, make haste while he's distracted.
- 36:35All right, well, I guess it was not red wire to blue.
- 36:37Wire. I mean, we could punch him in
- 36:39the head until he passes out. I will attempt.
- 36:41That's cheaper. Get this over with and teach
- 36:43this guy a lesson. I suppose we should say up here,
- 36:46actually, I was going to say maybe we get down there and see
- 36:48how they're doing, but maybe we should have a.
- 36:49Favorite set of needles you like to use?
- 36:52Maybe twisted, completely sedated?
- 36:55But she's not that twisted. I'm mostly watching this drone
- 36:59to see if it's getting any closer to us.
- 37:01I'm obviously doing a subcutaneous suture.
- 37:04Van Dear, what the? Hell, the graveyard of emails.
- 37:07Take a vow of silence. Any curiosity?
- 37:09VV Was that the first time you've sewed a man's mouth shut?
- 37:12You used to do this all the time at the morgue.
