Problems with Data Centers Building Their Own Gas Power Plants
NYS Lawmakers have sent a bill to Governor Hochul to impose a one year moratorium on data centers. There is also a data center proposed at the Kenwood Center in the south end of Albany. A new report by the Environmental Integrity Project examines the environmental impact of situations where data center operators build their own power plants to provide electricity for the facility, which, so far, is not the case at Kenwood.
