- 1:59Speaker 8: You'll think, uh huh, I sure will. Good morning everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 8: You all listening to the voice, come on, dig me
- 2:06Speaker 8: now one and on is Steve Harvey Man got a
- 2:09Speaker 8: radio show? How good is God?
- 2:11Speaker 9: Huh? Think about it?
- 2:13Speaker 8: Just take a slight inventory of your own life and
- 2:15Speaker 8: say it to yourself. When you get through how good
- 2:17Speaker 8: is God? Think of all the small things, because that's him.
- 2:22Speaker 8: You breathing, that's him. You still here, that's him. You
- 2:27Speaker 8: got another chance?
- 2:28Speaker 1: That's him. You ain't out of here. That's him.
- 2:32Speaker 8: Got any measure of health, that's him. You think it's
- 2:35Speaker 8: more to it than it really is than it already
- 2:38Speaker 8: showed up to be.
- 2:39Speaker 1: That's him. All of that.
- 2:41Speaker 8: You got, any dreams or aspirations you dream of other things,
- 2:44Speaker 8: that's him. All that, that's him, that's him. Him, clothes
- 2:48Speaker 8: you got, that's him. Every time you eat. That's why
- 2:51Speaker 8: they had this thing called you say your grace.
- 2:53Speaker 1: That's him. That's him, man, that's him.
- 2:56Speaker 8: It's amazing when you take a small inventory how you
- 2:59Speaker 8: find not how big God really is in your life. Now,
- 3:02Speaker 8: the more you turn yourself over to him, the bigger
- 3:05Speaker 8: he can be.
- 3:05Speaker 7: For you.
- 3:06Speaker 8: See, he'll only be as big as you let him.
- 3:09Speaker 8: It's one thing about God. Now, he's a gentleman. He
- 3:12Speaker 8: can make you do anything.
- 3:15Speaker 9: You know, you get too.
- 3:16Speaker 5: Big for him, you know you you you lose your humbleness.
- 3:20Speaker 9: He can humble you.
- 3:21Speaker 1: Now.
- 3:23Speaker 8: God created man with the power of choice. We're the
- 3:28Speaker 8: only creature he created that. He gave us the total
- 3:31Speaker 8: power of choice when we mate, who we mate with.
- 3:35Speaker 8: You know everything, all of it.
- 3:37Speaker 7: Man.
- 3:38Speaker 8: It's a choice what we want to be, how much
- 3:40Speaker 8: we want to make, where we want to live, with
- 3:42Speaker 8: climate we want to live in. We can live in
- 3:44Speaker 8: cold climates, hot climates. You know, we speak different languages.
- 3:48Speaker 8: You can go learn another language. A bear can't do
- 3:53Speaker 8: nothing but be a bear is he can't go learn
- 3:57Speaker 8: how to be a fox. He can't go love, learn
- 4:00Speaker 8: how to be an otter.
- 4:01Speaker 1: He just can't.
- 4:02Speaker 8: And Ostrich is an ostrich Man. He can't come out
- 4:05Speaker 8: here and fight like a lion. A lion is a lion.
- 4:08Speaker 8: A lion eat meat. He can't eat vegetables. I don't
- 4:11Speaker 8: care how much meat ain't around. He'll lay down and
- 4:15Speaker 8: pull up out of here and die because he can't
- 4:17Speaker 8: eat grass.
- 4:18Speaker 5: He just a lion.
- 4:19Speaker 6: Man.
- 4:20Speaker 8: You understand this that God gave us. We are the
- 4:24Speaker 8: one creature he created that has total power of choice.
- 4:28Speaker 8: You can make every decision in your life. What kind
- 4:30Speaker 8: of watch you like? That's the one you can buy.
- 4:34Speaker 8: You want to live in Switzerland, go ahead. You don't
- 4:38Speaker 8: like Switzerland, you can move to Miami. You want to
- 4:41Speaker 8: live your life.
- 4:42Speaker 1: For crime, go ahead. That's you. He gave you the
- 4:46Speaker 1: power choice you want to do?
- 4:47Speaker 7: Right?
- 4:48Speaker 1: Come on, So now look at this thing. We are
- 4:53Speaker 1: all the results of a series of decisions that we
- 5:00Speaker 1: have made.
- 5:02Speaker 8: If we could just identify that the problem is us,
- 5:07Speaker 8: we could began the solution.
- 5:09Speaker 1: See that's the problem, y'all, it's us. It's what we do.
- 5:15Speaker 8: I threw my life down the hill. I can't tell
- 5:18Speaker 8: you how many years based on some decisions that I
- 5:21Speaker 8: was making. Now I can justify my decision where I
- 5:24Speaker 8: wasn't happy, and I was doing this and I was
- 5:26Speaker 8: in misering, y'all on nay, ain yes to you when
- 5:29Speaker 8: you get through. You made the decisions though, and you
- 5:32Speaker 8: can look at this anyway you want to, y'all. But
- 5:34Speaker 8: at the end of the day, I'm just talking to
- 5:35Speaker 8: people that's really really wanting to improve their position in life.
- 5:40Speaker 5: And how do you do that?
- 5:42Speaker 8: You got to have a solution. How do you come
- 5:45Speaker 8: up with a solution? You got to identify the problem
- 5:50Speaker 8: to even began to solve it. But if the problem
- 5:54Speaker 8: ain't ever you, how you gonna solve something that ain't you?
- 6:00Speaker 9: See?
- 6:03Speaker 8: Okay, let me look at this one. If somebody say,
- 6:07Speaker 8: like I got a child of mine, man, I just
- 6:09Speaker 8: do right here. Man, I don't even wanna get into
- 6:12Speaker 8: it this morning. Boy, I'm struggling with this this boy.
- 6:15Speaker 8: But man, you go to people, you ask them why
- 6:18Speaker 8: they do so I just did. I just wasn't taking
- 6:21Speaker 8: care of business? Why I just didn't take care of business?
- 6:26Speaker 4: Boy?
- 6:27Speaker 5: Do you understand that your life is gonna be filled
- 6:29Speaker 5: with you got to take care of business? So when
- 6:31Speaker 5: you're gonna start, you know what I mean? You can't.
- 6:35Speaker 5: You can't. You can't go through life blaming everybody.
- 6:39Speaker 4: It's got to be you.
- 6:40Speaker 5: See, you can fix you.
- 6:41Speaker 1: You can't fix.
- 6:42Speaker 8: Nobody else if you keep getting married and the marriages
- 6:45Speaker 8: don't work. Hello, Hello, Hello, could it be you? South
- 6:52Speaker 8: found they had to sit down and just make that decision.
- 6:54Speaker 8: Ain don't need to be coming on the radio talking
- 6:56Speaker 8: about nobody else and what they did to me, and
- 6:58Speaker 8: y'all just don't know. No, no, no, man, what about
- 7:01Speaker 8: the part you played in it? Cause see, if you
- 7:03Speaker 8: got a good marriage, you got a part to play
- 7:06Speaker 8: in that. If you got a bad one, you got
- 7:07Speaker 8: a part to play in that. Even if it just
- 7:12Speaker 8: get down to you the one picked them, how about that, mister, mister,
- 7:15Speaker 8: I made a decision. The problem is usually within yourself.
- 7:21Speaker 8: Do you know that's the quickest and easy way to
- 7:22Speaker 8: fix your life. That way, you ain't got to check
- 7:25Speaker 8: with nobody. Here's the beauty of going on and admitting
- 7:28Speaker 8: that it's you. You don't have to check or clear
- 7:32Speaker 8: it with nobody to start the repair process. You don't
- 7:36Speaker 8: need anybody's permission. You ain't got to put it before
- 7:39Speaker 8: the review board to see if it will pass. It
- 7:42Speaker 8: ain't got to go through Congress. You ain't got to
- 7:44Speaker 8: hope that your local politician get their hands on it
- 7:47Speaker 8: and make a phone call for you. You ain't gotta
- 7:49Speaker 8: ask any counselors to come in and sit with you.
- 7:51Speaker 8: You don't have to check in the rehair. All you
- 7:54Speaker 8: got to do is decide the problem is me. I'm
- 7:57Speaker 8: gonna start changing me. Identify the problem, and start with
- 8:05Speaker 8: the part that you can own up to. Once you
- 8:11Speaker 8: identify the problem, you can start planning on how to
- 8:14Speaker 8: fix this or how to get to accomplishing something. But
- 8:18Speaker 8: remember this plan and is important. If you fail to plan,
- 8:24Speaker 8: then please plan to fail. If you don't know how
- 8:28Speaker 8: to make a plan, let's just start with the basics.
- 8:32Speaker 8: Just make a list of what you want. Make this
- 8:35Speaker 8: list and then go to God in prayer with an
- 8:39Speaker 8: open mind and open your mind up to all the
- 8:45Speaker 8: clean opportunities that are available. Hear why a lot of
- 8:49Speaker 8: people won't succeed because certain opportunities come along you don't
- 8:52Speaker 8: want to do them.
- 8:54Speaker 1: That kills me.
- 8:55Speaker 8: Man, when I hear here, I ain't doing that. I
- 8:57Speaker 8: know young comedians that come to me all the time
- 8:59Speaker 8: talking about man with you, and I say, man, just
- 9:01Speaker 8: take every gig you can, no matter what it pays.
- 9:04Speaker 1: Well, listen to me, son.
- 9:08Speaker 8: You can go make that money that they pay, or
- 9:11Speaker 8: you can make the decision to sit at home and
- 9:13Speaker 8: make no money. It's a comedy, hard business. They ain't
- 9:17Speaker 8: paying but one hundred dollars. You gotta drive fifty miles.
- 9:21Speaker 8: But if you drive fifty miles and you make the
- 9:23Speaker 8: hundred and you stand on that stage for thirty minutes,
- 9:26Speaker 8: you are now thirty minutes better than you was the
- 9:29Speaker 8: last time you went on stage. Oh, man, they ain't man,
- 9:34Speaker 8: they don't pay me. I ain't coming. You ain't finna
- 9:36Speaker 8: be a comedian, man, not not not like this here.
- 9:39Speaker 8: A lot of people just don't want to do what's
- 9:42Speaker 8: necessary to do. So when the opportunity presents itself and
- 9:45Speaker 8: you open up your mind to it, man, then get
- 9:48Speaker 8: ready to go on and do it. Man, identify your
- 9:52Speaker 8: problem today. Start with the part dash.
- 9:56Speaker 10: You you're listening morning show.
- 10:02Speaker 11: Rising shine, and give yourself that stretch. It is Wednesday, y'all.
- 10:05Speaker 11: It's hump day. Two down, two to go. That's right.
- 10:07Speaker 9: Uncle Steve is out and then Nephew was in holding
- 10:10Speaker 9: it down with the crew.
- 10:10Speaker 11: That Shirley Strawberry call of Farrell, Mississippi Monica and Kia
- 10:15Speaker 11: Junior Boy Spade.
- 10:17Speaker 9: It is Wednesday morning.
- 10:19Speaker 11: That great getting up Wednesday and you are riding with
- 10:23Speaker 11: the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 10:24Speaker 9: Good morning, everybody, Good morning.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Good morning, Good morning, sir. How are you man?
- 10:29Speaker 11: I am good, I'm up, I'm living, I'm blakeday, I
- 10:34Speaker 11: am here. We are getting started.
- 10:38Speaker 1: What's on your mind? It's blank? You know, I was thinking.
- 10:47Speaker 9: I mean, you know, but y'all don't never. Y'all don't
- 10:49Speaker 9: never think like I think though. So that's that's what Bob.
- 10:51Speaker 12: That's a true statement.
- 10:53Speaker 1: Yes, true statement.
- 10:54Speaker 11: But I mean I can't never. I can't never talk
- 10:56Speaker 11: to y'all because when I you know, when I got
- 10:58Speaker 11: some on my mind, I don't know.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Who to run it. But you know, okay, try your
- 11:05Speaker 1: trust us.
- 11:07Speaker 9: Look at it this way.
- 11:08Speaker 11: If you get a loan at the bank, If you
- 11:12Speaker 11: get a loan at the bank, it takes thirty years
- 11:15Speaker 11: to pay that back.
- 11:15Speaker 9: If you get a loan at the bank. But if
- 11:17Speaker 9: you rob a bank, you ain't got to do for
- 11:19Speaker 9: ten years. You know what I'm saying. I mean, it's
- 11:22Speaker 9: just I mean, this is just like some financial advice.
- 11:27Speaker 9: You see what I'm saying.
- 11:28Speaker 12: I mean, yeah, it's better to rob.
- 11:31Speaker 11: So what I'm saying is, I mean, why I get
- 11:33Speaker 11: a loan and have to pay it for thirty years
- 11:35Speaker 11: when you can rob a bank and just do ten years.
- 11:38Speaker 11: You might even get you know, home early on good behavior,
- 11:41Speaker 11: you see what I'm saying. Or just I mean, this
- 11:43Speaker 11: is just good financial advice, That's all I'm saying.
- 11:47Speaker 12: Criminals or what right?
- 11:49Speaker 1: Yeah? Or you get killed.
- 11:52Speaker 12: By the police, yeah, or you get taught.
- 11:56Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I'm saying, you get killed, or something
- 11:58Speaker 3: like did you set it off? Did you see all
- 12:00Speaker 3: I did?
- 12:01Speaker 1: I didn't do it.
- 12:02Speaker 9: They didn't do it right though, they didn't do it right.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Really, Yeah, they had a big operation with Robin.
- 12:10Speaker 12: Okay, So what else is on your mind?
- 12:13Speaker 4: That was dumb?
- 12:16Speaker 11: I mean, I mean that was the first one. I
- 12:17Speaker 11: was contemplating that and I said, man, that's rightly not
- 12:20Speaker 11: gonna work.
- 12:23Speaker 1: The Olympics. That's been on your mind? You've been watching?
- 12:27Speaker 5: Is that on your mind?
- 12:28Speaker 9: Yeah?
- 12:29Speaker 11: I don't really care for skateboarding. I realized I've come
- 12:34Speaker 11: to that conclusion. Yeah, I just I just I don't
- 12:36Speaker 11: understand why that's there at all. Okay, And it just
- 12:41Speaker 11: got there and it ought to just leave as soon
- 12:43Speaker 11: as they get through with this, this, this, this, when,
- 12:45Speaker 11: this time. Don't come back here in four years with
- 12:47Speaker 11: the skateboards.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Don't do that in Lay.
- 12:51Speaker 11: Nothing is gonna help. That's where it's gonna be in
- 12:53Speaker 11: La next. Don't show up in La with please don't.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Okay.
- 12:58Speaker 11: I wanted to ask all this if a poor man
- 13:00Speaker 11: who was married, if he slept with a rich lady
- 13:04Speaker 11: and got paid so he could feed his family, did
- 13:07Speaker 11: he cheat or.
- 13:08Speaker 9: Did he go to work?
- 13:09Speaker 7: So?
- 13:10Speaker 9: Did he cheat or did he did he go to work?
- 13:13Speaker 9: You see, you know.
- 13:17Speaker 12: He cheated on his job.
- 13:23Speaker 2: Clear your mind tomorrow, tomorrow my house, some mom inside
- 13:28Speaker 2: the mind of nephew Tommy.

- 50:02Speaker 6: with you.
- 50:02Speaker 7: And look, comparents, I understand. I don't that I understand
- 50:06Speaker 7: what you're saying. What I want to say to you

- 54:11Speaker 12: Thank you Nephew. Subject why can't I say that a
- 54:14Speaker 12: man is blessed?
- 54:15Speaker 4: Why?
- 54:16Speaker 12: Okay? Dear Stephen Shirley, I'm sixty three. I'm sixty three
- 54:20Speaker 12: and I've been married for a year. I've known my
- 54:23Speaker 12: husband for about thirty years, and we dated off and
- 54:26Speaker 12: on for many years before deciding to make it official.
- 54:29Speaker 12: This is the first marriage for us both, so we're
- 54:32Speaker 12: very set in our ways. I remembered my husband to
- 54:35Speaker 12: be open minded and fun loving, but he's changed since
- 54:39Speaker 12: the wedding. He knows that I love music and concerts.
- 54:42Speaker 12: He has taken me to at least twenty concerts, and
- 54:45Speaker 12: he loves how I sing all of the songs and
- 54:47Speaker 12: dance the entire time. That was the old hymn and
- 54:51Speaker 12: I'm wondering why he switched up his personality on me.
- 54:54Speaker 12: I mentioned that I wanted to go to a Chris
- 54:57Speaker 12: Brown concert. After my nieces went and se Chris is
- 55:00Speaker 12: a total vibe in concert, my husband said, me and
- 55:04Speaker 12: my nieces are too old to go stare at Chris
- 55:07Speaker 12: on stage. I thought he was joking around, and I
- 55:10Speaker 12: said that that's exactly why I want to go to
- 55:13Speaker 12: the concert. My husband said, I must be crazy if
- 55:16Speaker 12: I think he's going to a concert to see a
- 55:18Speaker 12: man hunch the stage the whole time. He had a
- 55:21Speaker 12: very serious tone in his voice, so I rolled my
- 55:23Speaker 12: eyes at him and changed the subject. Later, I was
- 55:26Speaker 12: talking to my sister that just turned sixty, and she
- 55:30Speaker 12: said she'd go to the show with me. I mentioned
- 55:33Speaker 12: how blessed Chris looked in his videos from the concert.
- 55:37Speaker 12: I didn't know my husband was ear hustling until he
- 55:40Speaker 12: stomped in the room and said, I know you all
- 55:42Speaker 12: are not talking about how blessed another man is. My
- 55:46Speaker 12: sister started laughing at him, so I got on off
- 55:49Speaker 12: the phone real quick. Seriously, how can my sixty five
- 55:52Speaker 12: year old husband be threatened by a young superstar? Why
- 55:55Speaker 12: has he changed since our wedding? Okay, really, girl, to
- 56:00Speaker 12: sit down, You really need to sit down.
- 56:03Speaker 7: One.
- 56:03Speaker 12: You've heard it before. People change when they get the
- 56:07Speaker 12: papers on you. They just change, and in your case
- 56:10Speaker 12: is not a bad thing. You are still out here
- 56:12Speaker 12: while and your husband does not want you talking about
- 56:15Speaker 12: another man's package. No man wants that. Okay, of course
- 56:19Speaker 12: he'd be mad. It sounds crazy. It sounds crazy coming
- 56:22Speaker 12: out of his wife's mouth. People don't get married to
- 56:25Speaker 12: stay the same. They get married because they you know,
- 56:27Speaker 12: they get him, fall in love and all of that,
- 56:29Speaker 12: and they want to build a life with another person.
- 56:32Speaker 12: Their lives are supposed to you know, blend. That's what
- 56:35Speaker 12: you do in marriage, but outwardly your marriage. But you're
- 56:38Speaker 12: still thinking and acting like you're single in these streets.
- 56:42Speaker 12: You are a wife. Now, this is not how a
- 56:45Speaker 12: wife acts, all right, not in front of her husband anyway,
- 56:49Speaker 12: You don't get it. You have to be a lot
- 56:52Speaker 12: more respectful of him. You have to be a lot
- 56:54Speaker 12: more respectful of your marriage. If not, why do you
- 56:57Speaker 12: get married in the first place. Okay, your husband, obviously
- 57:00Speaker 12: he understands the concept of marriage. How would you like
- 57:03Speaker 12: it if he would go around saying, oh, she got
- 57:05Speaker 12: a fine body, oh look at her, but and all that.
- 57:08Speaker 12: You would not like that, Okay, you wouldn't like it. Okay,
- 57:12Speaker 12: It doesn't mean you can't have fun and all that,
- 57:14Speaker 12: but it does mean you shouldn't be looking at and
- 57:16Speaker 12: commenting on some other man's young or old package. So
- 57:20Speaker 12: just please have a seat, ma'am.
- 57:22Speaker 11: Tommy, all right, I've seen this before, you know it.
- 57:27Speaker 11: It's a lot of men stars that go through this.
- 57:31Speaker 11: You know the top four that come to my head.
- 57:34Speaker 11: You know, More's Chestnut goes through this. You know, Shama
- 57:39Speaker 11: Moore goes through this, you understand, Idris Elba and last
- 57:45Speaker 11: but not least, you know, a Nephew Tommy. I mean,
- 57:47Speaker 11: we all go through this, you know, we all, we
- 57:52Speaker 11: all you know, you know I talked to the guys
- 57:55Speaker 11: a lot. You know, we all go through this.
- 57:56Speaker 9: Man, you know one support.
- 58:00Speaker 4: What's the list?
- 58:00Speaker 11: Again? Once again I said, there's a lot of men
- 58:04Speaker 11: stars that go through this. You know More's Chestnut goes
- 58:07Speaker 11: through That's quite a bit. And Shaman More you know,
- 58:11Speaker 11: he goes through it a lot. You know, indriest it
- 58:14Speaker 11: just you know, we keep in touch. He goes through that.
- 58:16Speaker 9: And and then fourth on the list that goes through
- 58:20Speaker 9: this is Nephew Tommy. I mean, we.
- 58:25Speaker 11: Go through this, you know. Uh So, speaking on behalf
- 58:30Speaker 11: of being you know, one of the blessed men that's
- 58:33Speaker 11: on stage. You know, you know, I understand you know
- 58:38Speaker 11: how uh you know, ladies, I understand what you're going through.
- 58:42Speaker 11: You want to come out to our shows and you
- 58:44Speaker 11: want to see us, and you're you're looking at the
- 58:46Speaker 11: package and I get all of that, you know, But
- 58:50Speaker 11: what you need to do is, you know, don't don't
- 58:52Speaker 11: hurt your man's feelings, uh, with our package. You understand
- 58:57Speaker 11: I'm saying. I mean, you know, and I know, I
- 59:00Speaker 11: know it's hard and it's difficult, and I know when
- 59:02Speaker 11: I'm up there performing, I feel you're looking at me
- 59:04Speaker 11: like that. I get it, you know, and and we're
- 59:07Speaker 11: just blest, you know, we're just blast like that, and
- 59:10Speaker 11: it just it's just it just feels good to be
- 59:14Speaker 11: one of the ones.
- 59:14Speaker 9: That is blessed.
- 59:15Speaker 11: You understand what I'm saying. And that's why Chris takes
- 59:19Speaker 11: all these pictures with these ladies and their husbands lose
- 59:21Speaker 11: their damn man, that's what happened. That's why I had
- 59:23Speaker 11: to quit taking pictures.
- 59:25Speaker 12: You know, So you made this all about you, well,
- 59:29Speaker 12: I mean.
- 59:30Speaker 1: Being a being, being a package holder.
- 59:33Speaker 11: You understand what I'm saying. You know, you know this
- 59:36Speaker 11: is I mean, we we are the FedEx. We are
- 59:38Speaker 11: the UPS's of male package. You see what I'm saying.
- 59:42Speaker 9: We we Yeah, yeah, you know I am the Amazon
- 59:48Speaker 9: of that. You understand?
- 59:50Speaker 11: Yeah?
- 59:52Speaker 12: All about I.
- 59:53Speaker 11: Mean, I mean, okay, so I don't First of all,
- 59:57Speaker 11: y'all don't respect that I'm that I'm on the list that.
- 1:00:02Speaker 6: Is.
- 1:00:03Speaker 11: Yeah, that's why we're the fact that y'all don't y'all
- 1:00:06Speaker 11: don't see me in that. You know, you know, you
- 1:00:09Speaker 11: know what the problem with with y'all. Y'all don't respect
- 1:00:12Speaker 11: that I'm blessed. That's my problem with y'all. It has
- 1:00:14Speaker 11: always been that y'all don't respect that I'm blessed. Talk
- 1:00:18Speaker 11: me all right? All right, let's admit it right here,
- 1:00:21Speaker 11: right now. Just admit it right here, right now, Tommy,
- 1:00:23Speaker 11: you blessed, and we apologize for not.
- 1:00:25Speaker 12: We'll have part two of the response to today's Strawberry
- 1:00:29Speaker 12: letter coming up at twenty three minutes after the hour.
- 1:00:33Speaker 12: The subject is why can't I say that another man
- 1:00:35Speaker 12: is blessed? We'll get back into it right after this.
- 1:00:39Speaker 10: You're listening hard Morning Show.
- 1:00:42Speaker 12: All right, We're going to recap today's Strawberry letter, guys.
- 1:00:44Speaker 12: The subject is why can't I say that another man
- 1:00:46Speaker 12: is blessed? This is a sixty three year old woman
- 1:00:49Speaker 12: who wrote in she's been married for a year. Her
- 1:00:52Speaker 12: husband is sixty five. They've been knowing each other for
- 1:00:55Speaker 12: thirty years, but they just made it official a year ago.
- 1:00:59Speaker 12: It's the first marriage for them both, and they're both,
- 1:01:02Speaker 12: she says, very set in their ways. She loves to
- 1:01:05Speaker 12: go to concerts and sing all the songs and dance
- 1:01:09Speaker 12: stand up and dance at all the shows and everything.
- 1:01:12Speaker 12: And her husband loved taking her to those shows before
- 1:01:15Speaker 12: they got married. Now things have changed since they've gotten married.
- 1:01:20Speaker 12: You know, she still wants to do the same thing,
- 1:01:22Speaker 12: go to concerts and all of that. She wants to
- 1:01:25Speaker 12: go to this Chris Brown concert. And she and her
- 1:01:27Speaker 12: sister were on the phone talking and she was telling
- 1:01:30Speaker 12: her sister how Chris Brown is really blessed. And her
- 1:01:35Speaker 12: husband heard her and he got mad, like any husband
- 1:01:39Speaker 12: would do. But he got mad, and she doesn't understand
- 1:01:42Speaker 12: why he's changed since they've gotten married. And why can't
- 1:01:45Speaker 12: she say that another man is blessed? You know, just
- 1:01:48Speaker 12: because she's married. Why can't she say that? You know,
- 1:01:52Speaker 12: so she's thinking that her husband is threatened by Chris Brown,
- 1:01:55Speaker 12: and why has he changed so much since the wedding?
- 1:01:59Speaker 12: So that is uh the situation with this letter. Why
- 1:02:02Speaker 12: can't I say that another man is blessed? Junior?
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: What you got?
- 1:02:06Speaker 12: She's not acting very much like a wife.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: You know, you know what?
- 1:02:09Speaker 4: Sure, you know Tom is right. You know we just
- 1:02:11Speaker 4: have to take time out. It's just a different day
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: today on the Strawberry letter. You know, it's hard for
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: me and Tommy to understand that, you know, being blessed
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: is not for everybody, you know, I mean it's a
- 1:02:25Speaker 4: few of us. I mean, you know, it's just a
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: few of us.
- 1:02:28Speaker 2: It's eight million people, eight billion people on earth, but
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: all of us ain't blessed.
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: And me and Tommy just happened to be in that group.
- 1:02:35Speaker 2: What we're saying is, you know, you know her husband
- 1:02:39Speaker 2: clearly ain't blessed because he's mad.
- 1:02:41Speaker 9: You know, you know what it is.
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, me and tom you know when you
- 1:02:44Speaker 2: bless you you're just in a group. We just we
- 1:02:46Speaker 2: just blessed me and so you know, it is.
- 1:02:49Speaker 4: A More's chestnut.
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: It is shamal Moore, it is uhdus.
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: Idris, it is time, But then right behind Tommy didn't
- 1:02:59Speaker 2: here I come. I just skipped up to Steve and everybody.
- 1:03:04Speaker 2: So okay, you know, but it's hard to even I
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: see why he's mad. I understand him.
- 1:03:11Speaker 12: Oh okay, you see that part, because yeah, I.
- 1:03:14Speaker 4: Mean he's mad because he's not in this blessed group.
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: What you want me and Tommy.
- 1:03:20Speaker 12: Tells us is that because his wife you thought, you
- 1:03:24Speaker 12: think Chris Brown?
- 1:03:25Speaker 2: Okay, well you ain't seen me then, so oh wow,
- 1:03:29Speaker 2: so you know, I mean, you know, Chris wrote a
- 1:03:32Speaker 2: song about it. They just ain't loyal, So it's not
- 1:03:34Speaker 2: my fault. Chris wrote the song. Me and Tommy just
- 1:03:38Speaker 2: happened to be in a different place than him. He's
- 1:03:41Speaker 2: just not blessed. But hold on, Me and Tommy can
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: laugh because you sixty five and mad.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: We're not mad.
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: About We ain't sixty five.
- 1:03:51Speaker 12: She's thinking that, you know, he's threatened because Chris is
- 1:03:55Speaker 12: a young superstar, that's what she.
- 1:03:58Speaker 4: Have you seen me and Tommy?
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: No?
- 1:04:01Speaker 12: I haven't them.
- 1:04:01Speaker 4: Okay, did you just set out to healing club death soul?
- 1:04:05Speaker 7: Of that?
- 1:04:06Speaker 4: When you go on state and you have a suit
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: on tim?
- 1:04:09Speaker 7: Mmmm?
- 1:04:09Speaker 4: They was already in there. They knew that he was blessed,
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: he was blessing.

- 1:05:07Speaker 12: Very wifely people.

- 1:05:49Speaker 4: Less so we don't know how to actually feel for
- 1:05:52Speaker 4: this husband.
- 1:05:53Speaker 2: All we know is that she wanted to put Chris Brown,
- 1:05:56Speaker 2: and then y'allose Chris Brown. But we're gonna let Chris Brown.
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: I'll do us.
- 1:05:59Speaker 4: We blessed too.
- 1:06:02Speaker 12: So you you feel who's pain in this letter?

- 1:08:34Speaker 2: really good because he went from a two hundred sprinter
- 1:08:36Speaker 2: to a one hundred sprint.

- 1:09:57Speaker 9: Yeah you.
- 1:10:01Speaker 15: Oh sure, I have no more sports for y'all with him.
- 1:10:06Speaker 15: It ain't massy. I'm no, I'm not doing that, all right, Junior,
- 1:10:13Speaker 15: Thank you.
- 1:10:14Speaker 12: Coming up at the top of the hour and ex
- 1:10:15Speaker 12: Wifez's advice on how to handle her ex sister in law.
- 1:10:19Speaker 12: Right after this, you're listening Hary Morning Show. All right, guys,
- 1:10:25Speaker 12: this one is from Brie and Covington. I'm in a
- 1:10:28Speaker 12: mood because my ex husband had an emergency surgery, and
- 1:10:31Speaker 12: he texted me to tell me that he was fine,
- 1:10:33Speaker 12: but he'd be in the hospital a few days. We
- 1:10:35Speaker 12: joked about my potato salad and he said it would
- 1:10:38Speaker 12: be perfect since he was on a soft diet. I
- 1:10:41Speaker 12: have a great relationship with him despite us being divorced.
- 1:10:45Speaker 12: I even get along with his wife. I made potato
- 1:10:47Speaker 12: salad for him and told his sister that I could
- 1:10:49Speaker 12: drop it off so she could take it to him.
- 1:10:52Speaker 12: She told me it's rude to take food to another
- 1:10:54Speaker 12: woman's hosband. Me and her have been cool up until
- 1:10:58Speaker 12: that point. How can she tell me what's right or
- 1:11:00Speaker 12: wrong with my ex husband. When my ex husband said
- 1:11:03Speaker 12: he wanted my potato salad, should I take it to him?
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: You know what?
- 1:11:07Speaker 11: I think the respectful thing to do is to call
- 1:11:11Speaker 11: the wife and ask her if it's okay.
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: That would be the ideal thing. And honestly, is your
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: potatoes handed thatad? Damn good? Though that we got to
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: bring it to the hospital. Is it really that good?
- 1:11:24Speaker 9: Are you really that?
- 1:11:25Speaker 11: I mean, I don't need anybody potatoes, tata, So I
- 1:11:27Speaker 11: just that might be the last thing I won't well.
- 1:11:30Speaker 9: I mean, I know you want soft food about you
- 1:11:33Speaker 9: it ain't about me. It ain't about me.
- 1:11:36Speaker 12: He wanted it, So yeah, she could have just dropped
- 1:11:39Speaker 12: it off at his house or something or whatever.
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: No, you got to ask the wife if she yeah, yeah.
- 1:11:45Speaker 12: Definitely, Yeah, don't do it disrespectfully.
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: So yeah, don't nobody need no potato salad out of surgery.
- 1:11:52Speaker 12: What in the world that's what he wanted.
- 1:11:55Speaker 4: Yeah, but he might not need that.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: It doesn't matter what he wants. What do you eat?
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: That's not soft diet, that's not what doctors want you to.
- 1:12:04Speaker 3: Potato salad, well crazy, that's what he wants.
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it's full of mayon eggs. It's full of cholester eggs.
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: I guess, yeah, but I was on jello.
- 1:12:21Speaker 9: That's what I was on.
- 1:12:22Speaker 12: I was on jello, no sugar, no sugar, and no
- 1:12:29Speaker 12: cholesterol in yello. But yeah, but tell me you're right.
- 1:12:33Speaker 12: She could call his wife. She says, she gets along
- 1:12:35Speaker 12: with his wife.
- 1:12:36Speaker 14: So that's what you gotta calls. And the sister you'
- 1:12:39Speaker 14: got nothing to do. What it is that is that,
- 1:12:41Speaker 14: that's that man's that's that woman's husband. Yeah cool, Yeah,
- 1:12:47Speaker 14: that's just respect.
- 1:12:49Speaker 12: So that's all all right, We have time for you.
- 1:12:51Speaker 11: Nobody in my house with no potato Saturday. It ain't
- 1:12:54Speaker 11: talking to Jacket. That ain't that can't happen.
- 1:12:56Speaker 12: Okay, we have time for another one. This one is
- 1:13:01Speaker 12: from Laurence and Salisbury. Laurence says, I've made some mistakes
- 1:13:06Speaker 12: in the past when it comes to cheating on my wife.
- 1:13:09Speaker 12: I came clean to her and promised I would do better.
- 1:13:12Speaker 12: I wish I never told her anything because she said
- 1:13:14Speaker 12: she forgave me, but she uses it against me every
- 1:13:17Speaker 12: time she gets mad. Forgive and forget it is not
- 1:13:20Speaker 12: working in this situation. How do I regain her trust?
- 1:13:25Speaker 11: I'm about to sit with you for coming clean. That's
- 1:13:28Speaker 11: what I'm reading. I knew you were gonna say that,
- 1:13:30Speaker 11: Well what what what now? Look how much dirty? Come
- 1:13:34Speaker 11: and clean and done it? Look how dirty is? It's
- 1:13:36Speaker 11: just nasty that you could have just you just shut
- 1:13:38Speaker 11: your damn mouth. You just you messed it all up.
- 1:13:41Speaker 11: I'm just disappointed in you. You just didn't really, you
- 1:13:43Speaker 11: didn't do this right. I don't know how you're gonna
- 1:13:45Speaker 11: fix it with her. She ain't gonna quit, she ain't
- 1:13:47Speaker 11: gonna quit bringing it up.
- 1:13:48Speaker 12: She's not People just can't hold it though. Now they
- 1:13:51Speaker 12: just can't hold it. They gotta get that off them,
- 1:13:54Speaker 12: you know.
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: The guilt.
- 1:13:55Speaker 11: Well, go out in the woods by yourself and scream
- 1:13:58Speaker 11: it to your okay, and now you got it out
- 1:14:03Speaker 11: your chest. Talk in the every dayn boy.
- 1:14:10Speaker 12: But you know, I guess he was going under the
- 1:14:13Speaker 12: premise that we do say we want honesty. We do
- 1:14:16Speaker 12: say that we want you to be honest with us.
- 1:14:18Speaker 12: Now he was honest with her, and now she uses
- 1:14:21Speaker 12: it against him.
- 1:14:22Speaker 11: That's what I mean. Lie, lies have always worked. They
- 1:14:27Speaker 11: have always worried. Line has kept a lot of people together.
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: Lie.
- 1:14:32Speaker 4: Oh go.
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: Ahead, what yeah? She then you have to worry about
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: coming clean.
- 1:14:43Speaker 7: You know.
- 1:14:43Speaker 3: Then there's that that's a foreign concept.
- 1:14:49Speaker 12: I think that's one concept.
- 1:14:51Speaker 9: Yeah, got to take it there, You always gotta.
- 1:14:53Speaker 12: Take it, all right, Coming up for twenty minutes after

- 1:19:31Speaker 12: rather have an indoor swimming pool or an indoor bowling alley.
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: Bowling?
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: I don't know the pool.
- 1:19:44Speaker 11: You're gonna play with that bowl? Now you're gonna bowl
- 1:19:46Speaker 11: a couple of times and then you ain't gonna fool
- 1:19:48Speaker 11: with it. Give me the indoor pool. Indoor pool.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Bowling all for me?
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: Now you got.
- 1:19:55Speaker 4: In your house?
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: I want that all right?
- 1:20:02Speaker 12: All right, guys, thank you. That's today's roundup. Would you
- 1:20:04Speaker 12: rather coming up next? It as our last break of
- 1:20:06Speaker 12: the day. We'll close out the show right after this.
- 1:20:09Speaker 10: You're listening Morning Show, Steve.
- 1:20:14Speaker 12: We're ready for your closing remarks.
- 1:20:15Speaker 8: All right, everybody, my closing remarks today, this is what
- 1:20:18Speaker 8: I've chosen to do. I have variations of this when
- 1:20:25Speaker 8: I'm talking as a speaker and things like that, but
- 1:20:27Speaker 8: I'm gonna go a different way with you today. There's
- 1:20:32Speaker 8: a saying that if you're the smartest person in your group,
- 1:20:40Speaker 8: then you need a new group.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: I want you, I want you all to just.
- 1:20:45Speaker 5: Think about that for a minute. If you're the smartest
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: person in your group.
- 1:20:50Speaker 9: You need a new group.
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: Now.
- 1:20:53Speaker 5: I've been very, very guilty of this, not saying that I.
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: Was smarter than everybody else, but I had been exposed
- 1:21:03Speaker 8: more than a certain group of people I had employed
- 1:21:06Speaker 8: and had hanging around me. I had been exposed to
- 1:21:10Speaker 8: more things. I naturally was making more because they were
- 1:21:13Speaker 8: mostly employees. I wanted more, and because of the fact
- 1:21:23Speaker 8: that I had more and more was required of me,
- 1:21:27Speaker 8: I just had bigger dreams. I outdreamed everybody in my
- 1:21:32Speaker 8: group and had just gotten to a point. And I'm
- 1:21:36Speaker 8: saying this because I want you all to put everything
- 1:21:38Speaker 8: into perspective. As I'm talking to you, just imagine at
- 1:21:42Speaker 8: your place in your life that if you're the one
- 1:21:46Speaker 8: that's constantly coming up with the ideas, you're the one
- 1:21:50Speaker 8: constantly coming up with the solution. You're the one everybody
- 1:21:53Speaker 8: turns to for guidance. You're the person always picking up
- 1:21:57Speaker 8: the tab, You're the person that stuff only.
- 1:22:01Speaker 5: One who's dreaming really big.
- 1:22:03Speaker 8: You're the one that's pulling the wagon, and you happen
- 1:22:07Speaker 8: to be carrying everybody that's on it.
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: Ain't none of your associates.
- 1:22:13Speaker 8: Getting off the wagon to help you pull it, push
- 1:22:15Speaker 8: it guide it or nothing. They just own the wagon
- 1:22:19Speaker 8: and you're doing all the pulling. You need a new group.
- 1:22:25Speaker 8: You need a new group.
- 1:22:28Speaker 7: Now.
- 1:22:28Speaker 8: The problem with acquiring this new group is gonna be
- 1:22:31Speaker 8: the fact is inevitable.
- 1:22:35Speaker 1: You have to get rid of the old group. And
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: it's hard.
- 1:22:39Speaker 8: It's hard cutting people loose because for the most part,
- 1:22:44Speaker 8: you're just a nice person. Because you start beating yourself
- 1:22:48Speaker 8: up with stuff that has nothing to do with you. Well,
- 1:22:51Speaker 8: if I let them go, what they gonna do, man,
- 1:22:56Speaker 8: How his family gonna eat? How her family gonna survive,
- 1:23:00Speaker 8: How they gonna if I let them go? Man, how
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: they gonna feel about me? What will they say about me?
- 1:23:09Speaker 8: What will the other group members think about me? But
- 1:23:16Speaker 8: you know something, man, that's not your job. And I'm
- 1:23:19Speaker 8: not trying to sound cold to callous, but it's just
- 1:23:22Speaker 8: not your job. They are responsible for themselves.
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: But through this.
- 1:23:29Speaker 8: Meaningless emotion called guilt, they will make you feel guilty
- 1:23:33Speaker 8: about letting them go and making them stop riding up
- 1:23:37Speaker 8: the heel and your wagon for free. And they use guilt,
- 1:23:42Speaker 8: which is the most meaningless emotion, and they give it
- 1:23:44Speaker 8: to you all the time. Y'all, do yourself a favor.
- 1:23:48Speaker 8: Stop doing that. Stop carrying people who should be walking themselves.
- 1:23:54Speaker 8: Stop pulling people up the heel in your wagon when
- 1:23:56Speaker 8: they need to get their.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: Own wagon to pull.
- 1:24:00Speaker 9: Stop.
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: Do yourself a favor, get yourself.
- 1:24:05Speaker 5: A new group.
- 1:24:07Speaker 8: They will be fine because let me ask you a question.
- 1:24:10Speaker 8: This is something my father used to say to me
- 1:24:12Speaker 8: all the time. What would you do if you didn't
- 1:24:17Speaker 8: know me? And I used to never understand when my
- 1:24:20Speaker 8: father said it that until I got older, but I
- 1:24:23Speaker 8: hear him saying it to me all the time. People
- 1:24:25Speaker 8: come to you and ask you for money because I
- 1:24:27Speaker 8: know you got it because you're doing better than them. Well,
- 1:24:30Speaker 8: you work harder than them, so quite naturally you should
- 1:24:33Speaker 8: be doing better them. Now they come to you and
- 1:24:36Speaker 8: lay this guilt.
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: Man, you.
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: Done came up and all us, over all of us,
- 1:24:41Speaker 5: and left us back in. Man, we so proud of you.
- 1:24:45Speaker 9: Let me hold.
- 1:24:47Speaker 8: My father used to say, if you didn't know me,
- 1:24:50Speaker 8: what would you do? So I started incorporating that in
- 1:24:52Speaker 8: my life. If you didn't have my number, who would
- 1:24:55Speaker 8: you call? I cannot be everybody's emergency. If you you
- 1:25:00Speaker 8: are everybody's emergency phone call. You need a new group.
- 1:25:05Speaker 8: They gonna bring you down. Man, I'm telling you they're
- 1:25:08Speaker 8: going to bring you down. And when you go down,
- 1:25:10Speaker 8: guess what they gonna get another emergency number. They not
- 1:25:14Speaker 8: gonna be there for you. All these people that use
- 1:25:17Speaker 8: you as they emergency, do you have the ability to
- 1:25:20Speaker 8: use them as your emergency?
- 1:25:21Speaker 5: I think not.
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: It's time to look at getting a new group now.
- 1:25:28Speaker 8: You can sever the ties with these people now, or
- 1:25:33Speaker 8: you can wait until a major event occurs. That's gonna
- 1:25:37Speaker 8: cause you have to break it off and it's gonna
- 1:25:39Speaker 8: be a lot more painful and a lot more costly,
- 1:25:44Speaker 8: you know. But Bishop Jake said one time, sometimes you
- 1:25:47Speaker 8: have to let people go so they can be freed
- 1:25:50Speaker 8: up to go be who they're supposed to be. Because
- 1:25:53Speaker 8: some people just hanging a home cause it's comfortable, because
- 1:25:56Speaker 8: you've made it comfortable for people. And I'm talking to
- 1:25:59Speaker 8: everybody out there. This ain't for me or people who
- 1:26:03Speaker 8: have employees. This is for people who have people in
- 1:26:06Speaker 8: their lives that's constantly pulling on you.
- 1:26:09Speaker 13: Man.
- 1:26:09Speaker 8: For twenty dollars here, forty dollars here, one hundred over here,
- 1:26:14Speaker 8: my light bill went off. They cut this off. They
- 1:26:17Speaker 8: calling me, I'm behind on my taxi, my income tax check.
- 1:26:21Speaker 9: Ain't hear you man? Oh man?
- 1:26:23Speaker 5: Oh man?
- 1:26:24Speaker 1: How many times you get that?
- 1:26:25Speaker 8: Stop being everybody's emergency phone call, because if they didn't
- 1:26:30Speaker 8: know you, what would they do? You know, my father
- 1:26:33Speaker 8: used to say, when they don't know you, what would
- 1:26:35Speaker 8: they do? They need to get home, get to doing it.
- 1:26:39Speaker 8: You can't save everybody because they'll bring you down. If
- 1:26:44Speaker 8: you're the smartest person.
- 1:26:45Speaker 9: In your group, you need a new group.
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: Y'all have a great deal.
