- 0:38Speaker 1: don't you join yea? Moby joining me said do go
- 1:01Speaker 1: turn to go? Yeah, you got you gotta turn you
- 1:41Speaker 1: to turn at the time, lobby got to turn out
- 1:45Speaker 1: to turn the water the water go. Come come on
- 1:58Speaker 1: your back, Uh huh, I sure will come on and
- 2:04Speaker 1: everybody you are listening to the voice, come on dig
- 2:08Speaker 1: me now one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Well, okay,
- 2:15Speaker 1: here we go. You know what's important. What's what can
- 2:21Speaker 1: be a huge part of your success is if you
- 2:25Speaker 1: if you find a balance, if you find a balance
- 2:30Speaker 1: in your life. That's that's been very important for me.
- 2:35Speaker 1: And I've really never phrased it this way until now,
- 2:38Speaker 1: but I was kind of thinking about it after my
- 2:41Speaker 1: wife and I mean, we set up one night recently,
- 2:43Speaker 1: man for hours. When I tell you, we talked for hours.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Now listen this. The conversation started as an argument. Well,
- 2:53Speaker 1: it started as a conversation that turned into an argument
- 2:57Speaker 1: that turned into a therapeutic conversation. You know, we just
- 3:01Speaker 1: had one of them and and it was ours. But
- 3:04Speaker 1: but my wife and I we have a very unique way. Uh.
- 3:08Speaker 1: If one of us starts to raise our voice, the
- 3:11Speaker 1: other one just says, hey, okay, now, we're not gonna
- 3:15Speaker 1: accomplish anything like that, so so we go okay, okay.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Then that's usually me, because you know, I'm a man.
- 3:22Speaker 1: The one anger that we that we gravitate too quickly
- 3:26Speaker 1: more than the other ones. Instead of their loving, caring,
- 3:30Speaker 1: sharing anger, we can we see see me and know
- 3:33Speaker 1: how to deal with anger really well because we know
- 3:35Speaker 1: what it means. I'm mad now if what I am.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Out of all of that, what I what I really
- 3:40Speaker 1: learned was you gotta find a balance in your life.
- 3:44Speaker 1: You know. I often come on here and this is
- 3:46Speaker 1: kind of an inspirational moment of the show, and I
- 3:49Speaker 1: I try to remind people about that most important relationship
- 3:53Speaker 1: between you and God. And that's that's the apex of it.
- 3:57Speaker 1: That's that's the that's the top of the crown. You
- 4:00Speaker 1: gotta form the relationship with God. If you don't everything
- 4:03Speaker 1: else struggles. It's hard to be a good husband without God.
- 4:06Speaker 1: It's hard to be a good family man without God.
- 4:09Speaker 1: It's hard to be successful without God. Man, it's hard
- 4:12Speaker 1: to be hard to get through this thing called life
- 4:14Speaker 1: without God. So that's clear. But at the same time,
- 4:19Speaker 1: you can't talk about God. Twenty four seven. You got
- 4:23Speaker 1: to go to work. Come on, man, let's just be real.
- 4:25Speaker 1: I ain't going I ain't your past, and I ain't
- 4:27Speaker 1: at your church. But let's just be real about it.
- 4:31Speaker 1: You know, people tell you gotta keep your mind stayed
- 4:33Speaker 1: on Him and all like that. That's that's a true statement.
- 4:36Speaker 1: You gotta keep your mind stayed in that area. I
- 4:38Speaker 1: don't not here to tell you how to live, but
- 4:40Speaker 1: you gotta keep your mind stayed in that area of God,
- 4:42Speaker 1: of doing the right thing, caring about people. That's what
- 4:45Speaker 1: I took it as. Now I could be wrong. I
- 4:47Speaker 1: apologize if I'm not saying it the way you've been taught.
- 4:50Speaker 1: I can only do me now. But after that, you
- 4:53Speaker 1: got to go to work. You gotta have some fun.
- 4:57Speaker 1: You gotta take care of your business, and that's the
- 5:00Speaker 1: balance you have to find. So it once you focus
- 5:05Speaker 1: on shooing up your relationship with God. You gotta you
- 5:09Speaker 1: gotta balance this now. Now, you got to allocate some time.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I don't care who you are, for your family. If
- 5:17Speaker 1: you're gonna have a family, you got to allocate some
- 5:20Speaker 1: time for him. See, we can't just marry these women
- 5:24Speaker 1: or make these kids and then neglect them and fellas,
- 5:29Speaker 1: especially if I'm talking to me and out him. Ladies,
- 5:31Speaker 1: you can listen to. But listen. If you find yourself
- 5:34Speaker 1: struggling in your life, man, and you can't seem to
- 5:36Speaker 1: get it together, Let's just go over a couple of things.
- 5:39Speaker 1: The first two things. If you find yourself struggling, you
- 5:43Speaker 1: can't seem to pull it together and reach your goals
- 5:45Speaker 1: and get the where you want to go. Let's let's
- 5:47Speaker 1: just do a check. How is your relationship with God?
- 5:53Speaker 1: And then next how much time are you taking to
- 5:57Speaker 1: allocate for your family? Now, your family don't always live
- 6:01Speaker 1: in your house, but if you made them, they yours
- 6:06Speaker 1: and the responsibility to them is never lessing because you
- 6:09Speaker 1: don't stay that no more. Because you and the girl
- 6:12Speaker 1: broke up, you and the woman don't speak that a
- 6:14Speaker 1: man that don't ever release you from the obligation. Feel
- 6:18Speaker 1: me when I'm telling you this now because I'm not
- 6:21Speaker 1: telling you something I'm wondering about. I've had to live
- 6:24Speaker 1: through them years. So two things you can start looking at.
- 6:28Speaker 1: If you're not where you want to be, and you ain't,
- 6:30Speaker 1: you ain't really solid. You can't figure out why you
- 6:32Speaker 1: keep spending your wills. Have you just done a random inventory, man,
- 6:36Speaker 1: If you just checked on your relationship with God? Have
- 6:39Speaker 1: you checked on the time you're spending dedicated towards your family,
- 6:43Speaker 1: your children that you've created. If them two things is
- 6:46Speaker 1: out of saint man, that I can tell you right now,
- 6:49Speaker 1: you can go on and get to explain in yourself
- 6:51Speaker 1: away just like that. Hey man, how come you ain't
- 6:54Speaker 1: where you want to be? Comes? Man? I really ain't.
- 6:57Speaker 1: But if you really ain't, then you really ain't. The
- 7:00Speaker 1: third thing is you got to allocate the necessary time
- 7:04Speaker 1: for your business. You got to handle your business. All
- 7:10Speaker 1: of this, man, is the way it works, and the order.
- 7:17Speaker 1: The order is God first, family second. Then you got
- 7:24Speaker 1: to handle all your business. But as me, and this
- 7:27Speaker 1: is what we do. If I don't handle my business,
- 7:30Speaker 1: I can't take care of my family, true statement. But
- 7:34Speaker 1: if your business is in front of your family, you
- 7:36Speaker 1: out of order. Now, that's all we're talking about now
- 7:40Speaker 1: in it. See, that's that's all we really saying here now,
- 7:42Speaker 1: fellas you know, you know I mean, I mean, come on, man,
- 7:45Speaker 1: you know, let's let's have a real conversation about being better.
- 7:49Speaker 1: You know, if you have created these children, you gotta
- 7:51Speaker 1: handle your business. You may not like the girl no more.
- 7:55Speaker 1: You and the woman might have broken up, y'all might
- 7:57Speaker 1: go your own way, But what that got to do
- 7:58Speaker 1: with the child though, Man, you got to handle your business.
- 8:01Speaker 1: They got to know who daddy is. That's your obligation, man.
- 8:04Speaker 1: And God ain't letting you off the hook for that.
- 8:07Speaker 1: Try go ahead and try and and thank you. Gonna
- 8:10Speaker 1: get off the hook with that because you're not man,
- 8:12Speaker 1: You're just not. I'm sorry, man, dog Steve, Why are
- 8:18Speaker 1: you coming like that? Because I did it like that.
- 8:22Speaker 1: I did it, man. I was over here trying to
- 8:23Speaker 1: reshape my life, getting myself up on my feet when
- 8:26Speaker 1: I was homeless man, and trying to come back. Man,
- 8:28Speaker 1: I thought I had to take care of me first,
- 8:30Speaker 1: and then so I neglect it cared about them kids. Man.
- 8:34Speaker 1: That ain't high work. Man, God, keep us knee on
- 8:36Speaker 1: my neck for a long time for that one right there,
- 8:38Speaker 1: until I finally learned the lesson hold up, man, put
- 8:43Speaker 1: these phone calls in and go spend some time, do something.
- 8:47Speaker 1: And then it started turning around for me. You know,
- 8:49Speaker 1: I can't be there all the time because I am
- 8:51Speaker 1: out here on the ground in the hustle. But at
- 8:53Speaker 1: the same time, man, some more phone calls, some more letters,
- 8:57Speaker 1: some mo ha ha he he's something. Then take care
- 9:02Speaker 1: of your business man. You got to work hard to
- 9:04Speaker 1: be successful. You know. Sometimes I don't put that in there.
- 9:08Speaker 1: I just live in and I expect my sons to
- 9:10Speaker 1: emulate that. But I gotta talk to him all the time.
- 9:13Speaker 1: How hard you got to work to be something. It's
- 9:17Speaker 1: all out of salt on it. Man. If you gotta
- 9:19Speaker 1: target in mind, you gotta go. You gotta wake up
- 9:21Speaker 1: every day trying to get there, and you can't get
- 9:24Speaker 1: tired of it because it's it's it's it never ends.
- 9:29Speaker 1: You're gonna always be this way. That's how life is
- 9:32Speaker 1: designed and set up. You got to be a hard worker. Man.
- 9:36Speaker 1: If you're always looking for some time to chill and man,
- 9:39Speaker 1: I wanna go do what I want to do, you
- 9:41Speaker 1: ain't gonna make it in order to be successful, you
- 9:45Speaker 1: have to do a series of things that you're uncomfortable doing,
- 9:48Speaker 1: and work is the thing that most of us are
- 9:51Speaker 1: uncomfortable doing. It's so much easier to chill, man. I
- 9:55Speaker 1: wish I could kick back with a cigar man all
- 9:57Speaker 1: the time, but I can't. Ain't man, I can't because
- 10:04Speaker 1: I got to work. Then, the last piece of the
- 10:10Speaker 1: balanced balanced pieces. You gotta take some time out to
- 10:13Speaker 1: enjoy yourself. But if you ain't where you wanna be,
- 10:17Speaker 1: you ain't got a lot of time to enjoy yourself.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Quit thinking, man, that this balance is even. It's a
- 10:25Speaker 1: whole lot of God, a whole lot of family, a
- 10:28Speaker 1: whole lot of business, and a little bit of chilling.
- 10:32Speaker 1: The chilling can't be equal to the family, the business,
- 10:35Speaker 1: or your God. If the chilling is equal to any
- 10:38Speaker 1: of them, you ain't gonna make it. Quit chilling, man,
- 10:42Speaker 1: and go to work like a man. Do what you're
- 10:45Speaker 1: posed to do. Work on your family, work on your relationship,
- 10:48Speaker 1: work on your God, work on your business. And then
- 10:51Speaker 1: when you chill, you might not chill is long, but
- 10:53Speaker 1: your show gonna chill bigger. You're gonna ball bigger babies.
- 10:56Speaker 1: You're listening, ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls. This is
- 11:04Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show, and that means that's the

- 13:34Speaker 1: You was on that ship. I didn't let him do you.
- 13:40Speaker 1: First of all, you don't want to say that he
- 13:42Speaker 1: was on the ship. He did you? Boy? Oh? He did? Did?
- 13:49Speaker 1: Somebody said, well, damn? How long is the ceremony to
- 13:53Speaker 1: be a prison? You said that not only is your principal,
- 14:00Speaker 1: she's teacher of the year. Also what oh congratulations, congratulations.
- 14:09Speaker 1: That must make you feel really good. Yeah, with my
- 14:11Speaker 1: dumb behind, is that what you're saying? No? No, no, no,
- 14:14Speaker 1: that's what I said. How this girl became and teaching
- 14:21Speaker 1: any words of I said what I shad? Al Right, listen,
- 14:29Speaker 1: it is time for something funny. Uh. You know Steve
- 14:33Speaker 1: always has a funny story to tell us. Over the weekend.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Family feud started over the weekend, so we'll hear from
- 14:38Speaker 1: Steve and the crew when we come back at thirty
- 14:41Speaker 1: two after the hour. You're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 14:45Speaker 1: Morning Show. Time for something funny. You started at Steve
- 14:50Speaker 1: the new season of Family Feud. What's going on? Okay,
- 14:54Speaker 1: let us have I don't know how much of this
- 14:56Speaker 1: is gonna make the air, but Lord, Hember said, got
- 14:59Speaker 1: a Google? Are you? I go over to this family.
- 15:04Speaker 1: I don't even want to say their name, just because
- 15:06Speaker 1: I don't want no trouble because I don't know how
- 15:08Speaker 1: that's gonna go. Uh. We got two identical twins on
- 15:13Speaker 1: the ends. One is the captain and one is the
- 15:16Speaker 1: number five player. They were about my age, I would assume,
- 15:23Speaker 1: because he was born in the fifties and kept telling them.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Then that was her brother, the twins brother next to him,
- 15:31Speaker 1: and then it was the twins brother's wife, and then
- 15:36Speaker 1: it was this girl that was their niece. Okay, so
- 15:40Speaker 1: I'm going down the line. I meet him. She introduced herself.
- 15:43Speaker 1: She team captain. I said, introduced your people. She introduced,
- 15:46Speaker 1: and that's my twins sister on the on the end.
- 15:48Speaker 1: They look alike. They're identical got no problem with that.
- 15:51Speaker 1: But come to find out. Now, let's go down the line.
- 15:55Speaker 1: I go meet the brother next to him. He trains
- 15:59Speaker 1: Tennessee walker horses. I've never met a person who trained
- 16:03Speaker 1: Tennessee walks, those high stepping horses. Yeah, yeah, he trains them.
- 16:08Speaker 1: The woman next to him was his wife. They like
- 16:13Speaker 1: me and Margie. They're blended family. Uh, but they've been
- 16:18Speaker 1: dating for twenty six years. What quiet Jake. So finally
- 16:26Speaker 1: they're getting married four years ago and together their kids
- 16:34Speaker 1: is like thirty seven, thirty six, thirty twenty nine the
- 16:40Speaker 1: youngest one is. But then here coming nine year old. Okay,
- 16:49Speaker 1: so we got start out. I didn't get into that.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It just got out of hand. So I go down
- 16:55Speaker 1: to the end to meet the twining system and I
- 16:59Speaker 1: couldn't pronounce her name. Now listen, now, you know it's
- 17:02Speaker 1: gonna be good because I I remember how to spell
- 17:06Speaker 1: it l A v A l e r I A
- 17:19Speaker 1: l A v A l e r I A. Oh man,
- 17:24Speaker 1: that's her name. So now I'm down now. Yeah, So
- 17:32Speaker 1: I'm struggling because with my public school education, I'm trying
- 17:37Speaker 1: to sound out lava l a v A lava Leria
- 17:44Speaker 1: Lava Liria. I got it, no, Steve. So I go
- 17:49Speaker 1: back up on the end to her twin sister. I'm
- 17:52Speaker 1: reading her twin sister name. Her twin sister name Valerie,
- 17:57Speaker 1: just Valerie. H I know Valerie. Everybody know a validate everyone.
- 18:03Speaker 1: So I go back down there and I go, I
- 18:05Speaker 1: don't understand, and she says, well, were identical twins. I said,
- 18:10Speaker 1: what's your name, Love Valerie? I said, Love Valerie? What
- 18:19Speaker 1: and your sister name? Valerie? Got sick of this mess.
- 18:26Speaker 1: I'm not trying to come up with no name for
- 18:28Speaker 1: these twins. You're gonna be Valerie, and you're gonna be
- 18:30Speaker 1: love Valide. But now, what is the Valerie? Is v
- 18:35Speaker 1: A l e r I E? Valerie? No, this is
- 18:42Speaker 1: l A v A l e r I A. But no,
- 18:47Speaker 1: it's Valerie. No, no, no, I'm telling your skip what
- 18:52Speaker 1: you're saying. They have told me. It ain't no damn
- 18:56Speaker 1: no Valerio, it's Valerie, said, I got to tell y'all
- 19:01Speaker 1: something wrong. So I go back up to the top
- 19:05Speaker 1: find out that the one up top name was spelled
- 19:08Speaker 1: Valerie v A l e r I E. Got it,
- 19:13Speaker 1: she said, But I changed mind. Steve she said, I
- 19:19Speaker 1: changed it to I E because everybody was doing to
- 19:23Speaker 1: me what you was down are doing to my sister,
- 19:25Speaker 1: saying I was Valeria and my name is actually Valerie.
- 19:31Speaker 1: I'll be there, I'll be there. Oh, but the story
- 19:40Speaker 1: go deeper than y'all. Do I have time? Y'all got
- 19:42Speaker 1: three minutes? Okay too? Oh I need a little bit more.
- 19:52Speaker 1: All right, let me try. Okay, here we go. The
- 19:55Speaker 1: niece says, I said, how you doing? First of all,
- 19:58Speaker 1: she had a voice of boys, like a baby. So
- 20:01Speaker 1: I asked him was that her real voice? She said, yes,
- 20:03Speaker 1: this maybe a voice. So I said, okay, here or
- 20:06Speaker 1: they's laughing, I said, so. And I'm married with eight
- 20:11Speaker 1: month old and the man in my dreams, I said, okay, man,
- 20:15Speaker 1: and you dream How did y'all meet Steve? It's really
- 20:17Speaker 1: a god, the god sin. So this is how she
- 20:21Speaker 1: met her husband. She was dating a scumbag man. By
- 20:24Speaker 1: her own admission, he was a scumbag man. Her best
- 20:29Speaker 1: friend was telling her you need to drop him and
- 20:32Speaker 1: stop dating me, and like that, her best friend is
- 20:36Speaker 1: a man, got it go, begging her to leave him,
- 20:42Speaker 1: leave him, leave him. She he said, I'm gonna find
- 20:46Speaker 1: you somebody, so you can quit dating them types of man. Okay.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Seven months after, he made a statement, I can't finish
- 20:56Speaker 1: this story. Do we come back? Yeah, this is the
- 20:58Speaker 1: most incredible story you've You've got to hear this. Can
- 21:03Speaker 1: we come back and tell it? Okay, we can do both,
- 21:07Speaker 1: but listen to this. Though she's a nurse. He just
- 21:13Speaker 1: to set it up for the next break. Her best
- 21:15Speaker 1: friend dies from complications. The dude. Yeah, her best friend
- 21:23Speaker 1: dies from complications. It's like comet hangar for sure. Coming
- 21:32Speaker 1: up next to the end of Steve's story. We'll be
- 21:34Speaker 1: back to hear it. That's all I can say. Right
- 21:37Speaker 1: after this. I can't wait. You're listening. Here we go, Steve,
- 21:43Speaker 1: come on with this story. All right. Let me reset
- 21:46Speaker 1: the story for you. Pretty little girl got eighteen month
- 21:50Speaker 1: old baby, oh baby voice. She's a nurse. She's dating
- 21:57Speaker 1: a scumbag. Her best friend tells, so, why do you
- 22:00Speaker 1: date men like that? I'm gonna find you a man myself.
- 22:05Speaker 1: The man she was dating, the scumbag, is still in
- 22:10Speaker 1: her life. The lady is a nurse. Seven months after
- 22:14Speaker 1: the boy, the man who is her best friend tells her,
- 22:17Speaker 1: I'm gonna find you a man he quote unquote dies
- 22:21Speaker 1: from complications. Okay, okay, I'm on TV complications, Tommy. That's
- 22:30Speaker 1: what she said, which is, Oh, you're gonna get real
- 22:35Speaker 1: curious in a minute. I'm good at storytelling now, because
- 22:40Speaker 1: this is how I got there from me, she says.
- 22:45Speaker 1: He passes. Now the artist is going, Oh, but I
- 22:49Speaker 1: ain't going all because I'm looking at this like. So
- 22:53Speaker 1: she has to go to his funeral. His family ships
- 23:00Speaker 1: his body across state lines so she can be buried
- 23:05Speaker 1: closer to where he was born. The body goes to
- 23:08Speaker 1: a funeral home where her now her husband works. Okay,
- 23:19Speaker 1: she got her husband. Now, remember she was dating the scumbag,
- 23:23Speaker 1: the man the best friend tolder. She got to meet
- 23:26Speaker 1: somebody he got He want to introduce her to somebody.
- 23:29Speaker 1: He died seven months later. The family, having the funeral
- 23:32Speaker 1: closer the way he was born, ships his body cross
- 23:35Speaker 1: the line. Her now husband, he works at the funeral
- 23:41Speaker 1: home that the body got sent to. She walked in
- 23:45Speaker 1: the funeral home. Now we're supposed to be grieving. She
- 23:49Speaker 1: looks across the room and sees this gorgeous hook a man.
- 23:55Speaker 1: But he wanted the funeral director, so he goes back
- 24:00Speaker 1: outside and asked her girlfriend, who is that over that girl?
- 24:06Speaker 1: She says he worked at the funeral home. She says,
- 24:08Speaker 1: go in there and find out if he married. Her
- 24:12Speaker 1: girlfriend goes in there and find out he's single. She
- 24:15Speaker 1: tell him to give him her phone number. Now listen
- 24:19Speaker 1: to me. Listen your best friend dad laying up now
- 24:26Speaker 1: him starting in a direct man. Yeah. So now I'm
- 24:33Speaker 1: sitting up here here in this story and the audience
- 24:35Speaker 1: is going, and I'm going, what is y'all see that?
- 24:42Speaker 1: This It's just a case case a man dies from
- 24:49Speaker 1: quote unquote complication. She happens to be a nurse. Happened
- 24:55Speaker 1: to it all the gin't know each A year and
- 25:03Speaker 1: a half later day May I said, girl, I told
- 25:09Speaker 1: that Ordence. I said, I don't know what y'all. So
- 25:12Speaker 1: I leaned in close to it, and I said, the
- 25:14Speaker 1: camera took take close up and she said, why you
- 25:18Speaker 1: want to do that, Steve, I said, in case there's
- 25:20Speaker 1: a reward for you. I know that I found you
- 25:25Speaker 1: own family feeling. The audience is holly. Then I walk
- 25:30Speaker 1: to the front of the stage and I said, and
- 25:32Speaker 1: let me tell y'allself, if y'all don't think that this
- 25:36Speaker 1: death by Complications is under investigation. Y'all is crazy, I said,
- 25:44Speaker 1: and I am here to let you know that I
- 25:47Speaker 1: am officially re launching the investigation. It's the craziest man.
- 25:59Speaker 1: And she was just upset with me. Why are you
- 26:01Speaker 1: saying this is God's intervention? God, I had nothing to
- 26:05Speaker 1: do it. You're not gonna blame this. And what did
- 26:09Speaker 1: your friend die from? I told you, complications, girl, I said,
- 26:15Speaker 1: what we're gonna do is I'm gonna start a petition.
- 26:18Speaker 1: I'm gonna get this body exuded. I learned all this
- 26:23Speaker 1: on for HISIC signs. Your ask don't know who you
- 26:28Speaker 1: play the girl because I watch it for ENSIC five.
- 26:33Speaker 1: We're gonna this body. What the name complication? Now hold up?
- 26:37Speaker 1: Finishing story. The man is now the funeral owner of
- 26:43Speaker 1: the business and has just opened up his second funeral parlor.
- 26:49Speaker 1: So the audience started clapping us. What is y'all clapping for? Now?
- 26:53Speaker 1: He got all these bodies because guess why she somewhere serial?
- 27:00Speaker 1: She just picking up the phone. Hey, you need to
- 27:02Speaker 1: get up here. And I ain't looking good keep the business.
- 27:07Speaker 1: That's crazy crazy. It was the funniest a nurse, A
- 27:17Speaker 1: nurse and all of a sudden, he got opened up
- 27:19Speaker 1: to femeral homes. Business is good girl, Yeah, opened up
- 27:33Speaker 1: another fly, worked down normal now. He told them he
- 27:36Speaker 1: got a change. Like how you said she get down
- 27:39Speaker 1: there and it all said, they know each other. I
- 27:46Speaker 1: went to high school with this girl that her family
- 27:49Speaker 1: owned funeral homes. Man. She looked dead every day, every day.
- 27:54Speaker 1: Her makeup was just never the right, never the right.
- 27:58Speaker 1: You're they're using everybody. Yeah, people homes don't laugh at all.
- 28:05Speaker 1: I have no emotion like the I R s. Don't
- 28:08Speaker 1: find nothing, or you find one that laughs a lot.
- 28:12Speaker 1: You're like, wait a minute, why are you so happy? Right?
- 28:18Speaker 1: How are things with you today? Yes? And those are
- 28:23Speaker 1: the women. How is your family? Yeah? How's everybody's else?
- 28:38Speaker 1: You don't give me your damn call, dog, I don't
- 28:44Speaker 1: shake hands. I had somebody came on Harvey's hundreds one
- 28:49Speaker 1: time on my talk show. He came down. He was
- 28:52Speaker 1: all excited, little yoga black dude, What do you do
- 28:55Speaker 1: for living? I'm in the business of all business. I'm
- 28:58Speaker 1: a mortician. Took my hand away from him, and I
- 29:02Speaker 1: couldn't stand. You can just give him. You just gave
- 29:06Speaker 1: him the money. Hunt. You're not playing I thought about
- 29:14Speaker 1: using a hurse for a punk. What you playing go
- 29:19Speaker 1: out to a barber shop and take the body out
- 29:21Speaker 1: and take it in there to get a hair culled. Yeah,
- 29:30Speaker 1: now you've really gone too far. I got a funeral
- 29:33Speaker 1: in the hour and a half because somebody cut his hand.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Here to knocking out, here to knocking WHI is it?
- 29:41Speaker 1: You taught me that's what's going on. Take the body,
- 29:50Speaker 1: it's going down. Just stop abody to get that hair
- 29:54Speaker 1: cut right. But we're going to the funeral. Can you
- 29:57Speaker 1: talk about the morning while it's pat to the whole shop? Hey, Tommy,
- 30:02Speaker 1: but get some people to bang. Bring the casket in
- 30:08Speaker 1: Lord and set it in the floor. All right, guys,
- 30:11Speaker 1: coming up the top of coming up in the top
- 30:14Speaker 1: of the hour. Now that Mother's Day is over, people
- 30:17Speaker 1: are thinking about summer vacation and all that. But we're
- 30:20Speaker 1: also thinking about church complaints, you know, because yesterday was Sunday.
- 30:24Speaker 1: It was Mother's Day, and the reverend and the deacon
- 30:27Speaker 1: will be here with church complaints right after that. You're
- 30:31Speaker 1: listening to the Steve Hardy Morning Show. All right, it's Monday,
- 30:39Speaker 1: yesterday was Mother's Day. Church complaints. You excuse me today
- 30:45Speaker 1: or church complaints will be of the iditant version because
- 30:51Speaker 1: of the fact that it was Mother Day yesterday. I'm
- 30:54Speaker 1: assuming there should not be much to complain about. A
- 30:59Speaker 1: good head or deacon. I don't know if you are
- 31:02Speaker 1: aware of it. Yesterday passed it. But yesterday here at
- 31:05Speaker 1: the church we had DNA family testing done on Mother's Day. Um,
- 31:12Speaker 1: brother Cyrus Austin has father fifteen children, and I don't
- 31:19Speaker 1: know if you realize it or not, your younger son
- 31:22Speaker 1: Darneill belongs to Cyrus as well. What so there is
- 31:27Speaker 1: a serious he has fifteen children in this church that
- 31:31Speaker 1: he that he has father that we are just now
- 31:34Speaker 1: finding that due to the DNA family tested. We were
- 31:37Speaker 1: trying to do family trees, but it went a different direction. Well,
- 31:43Speaker 1: I have news for you. If you think that almost
- 31:45Speaker 1: see here and let you tell me that my youngest
- 31:48Speaker 1: boy done Neil. It's another man's son. D DNA has
- 31:55Speaker 1: taken on the whole new meaning because DNA now standing
- 31:58Speaker 1: for Darnielle needed another damn That mean that that's similar
- 32:05Speaker 1: as that. Alright, don don there, Daddy gonna have to
- 32:11Speaker 1: reimburse me for all the money out of lot done
- 32:14Speaker 1: that really? Head you don't have to get inline. It's
- 32:22Speaker 1: other till than along with yours. Ah, that's all my
- 32:28Speaker 1: hand fast I think. No, no, no, no, it ain't
- 32:32Speaker 1: all you had. You ain't doing no. Let me invite
- 32:36Speaker 1: my brother in here, Riverend nor do you have an
- 32:39Speaker 1: enough we might have what we can play over there,
- 32:42Speaker 1: because we can't played none of those not what. So
- 32:46Speaker 1: there's a meeted in meeting rooms seven meeting rooms seven
- 32:51Speaker 1: white grandparents, Black brand babies will meeting meeting help coming demonstration,
- 33:03Speaker 1: White parts, black brand babies. We we want to thank
- 33:15Speaker 1: you for that. We found that a necessary thing because
- 33:21Speaker 1: some of the white grandparents bringing the black grandkids over
- 33:25Speaker 1: here looking crazy, hello, wild and so they don't know.
- 33:30Speaker 1: So we're having a very special how come and demonstration,
- 33:35Speaker 1: very well needed. Several key or ex members have been there.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pit came to some one time.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Brad gave up and just said I'm out to hell
- 33:48Speaker 1: with it. Madonnad has participated in the class and so
- 33:56Speaker 1: it's a wonderful class. Oh it's being hit it up
- 34:01Speaker 1: by Vidal stand Bullock will also be there because he
- 34:06Speaker 1: has and they are. What they've done is they've gotten up,
- 34:12Speaker 1: Vidal says, soon grandson Jerome, the members of the people
- 34:24Speaker 1: who work at Duke's hell Grist and Company on Sufa
- 34:29Speaker 1: eight for coming up. So the Sufa people have stepped
- 34:34Speaker 1: in now that now we've had some problems with the
- 34:37Speaker 1: Sofa eight sponsor because all the white grandparents kids cannot
- 34:43Speaker 1: get the smell and they don't understand it. They fight me.
- 34:49Speaker 1: Give this in a minute. We have to move on. Guys,
- 34:52Speaker 1: Steve please introduced him and it is time lend and gentlemen,
- 34:56Speaker 1: she's here. Without further du the lovely and talented ms
- 34:59Speaker 1: and trip. Thanks Steve. Good morning everybody. This is entered
- 35:02Speaker 1: with the news. Well, today is the official opening of
- 35:05Speaker 1: the US Embassy in Jerusalem, the new one. A US
- 35:08Speaker 1: delegation arrived in Israel yesterday in advance of today's ribbon cutting,
- 35:12Speaker 1: and among them the President's daughter Ivanka, her husband Jared Kushner,
- 35:16Speaker 1: as well as Tragedy Secretary Steve Manuchin. Now, Palestinians opposed
- 35:20Speaker 1: the relocation from Tel Aviv, calling the Trump administration's controversial
- 35:24Speaker 1: movie illegal ever since President Trump made this announcement last December,
- 35:28Speaker 1: it's time to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.
- 35:34Speaker 1: Now there have been widespread protests by Palestinians. Israeli troops
- 35:38Speaker 1: have reportedly killed at least forty nine protests, the latest
- 35:40Speaker 1: a teenager, and more than one hundred thousand protesters are
- 35:43Speaker 1: expected today. The Palestine claims the east side of Jerusalem
- 35:48Speaker 1: and that that is the problem, and they wanted that
- 35:50Speaker 1: as part of their capital in a two state resolution.
- 35:53Speaker 1: That's the problem. Jerusalem is sacred to Jews as the
- 35:55Speaker 1: side of the ancient temples. It's sacred to Christians because
- 35:58Speaker 1: it's where Jesus spent his last stays, and it's sacred
- 36:01Speaker 1: to Muslims as the site of their revered Dome of
- 36:03Speaker 1: the Rock shrine. It, of course, to a campaign with
- 36:06Speaker 1: a campaign promise, President Trump has announced his plan to
- 36:09Speaker 1: help Americans pay for their medications. The Trump says that
- 36:12Speaker 1: he also wants to increase competition while reducing regulations so
- 36:15Speaker 1: the prescription drugs can get to the market quicker and cheaper.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Housing Over a week after the Killaway volcano erupted on
- 36:22Speaker 1: the Big Island of Hawaii, scientists say that another fissure
- 36:25Speaker 1: has opened up, spewing lava and raising the possibility of explosion.
- 36:28Speaker 1: So more evacuations over there are in order. UH United
- 36:32Speaker 1: Airlines in the news again, this time because of the
- 36:34Speaker 1: report of a lawsuit brought by a Nigerian woman who
- 36:38Speaker 1: was taken off a plane in twenty six because a
- 36:40Speaker 1: white man who was sitting in her assigned see by
- 36:42Speaker 1: the way, said he couldn't not fly with her because
- 36:44Speaker 1: she smelled a white. Alpharetta Georgia copp has resigned after
- 36:48Speaker 1: he was seen and heard on video screaming and cursing
- 36:51Speaker 1: at an elderly black woman as he pulled her out
- 36:53Speaker 1: of her car after she'd been pulled over on the
- 36:55Speaker 1: traffic stop outside Atlanta. They were five other cops involved,
- 36:58Speaker 1: but Officer James leg was most disrespectful and rough. There's
- 37:06Speaker 1: an old saying that says, treat others think you want
- 37:10Speaker 1: to be treated. That's the bottom line again. James Lug
- 37:14Speaker 1: has resigned from the force. The Alpharetta Department conducting an investigation.
- 37:17Speaker 1: And Tops of the Box Office this weekend no real surprise.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Avengers Infinity war to bring together a group of remarkable
- 37:26Speaker 1: people to see if we could become something more. The
- 37:31Speaker 1: Avengers made another sixty two million dollars more entertainment ahead
- 37:35Speaker 1: to today's trending topics as well. Twenty minutes after the
- 37:37Speaker 1: hour of Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to the
- 37:40Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve, But just last week,
- 37:44Speaker 1: you know, we talked about Childish Gambino, his latest music video,
- 37:49Speaker 1: which confronts the reality to being black in America. Here's
- 37:53Speaker 1: some of the just a few of the latest racial
- 37:56Speaker 1: racial incidents that we've seen splashed across our TV screens
- 38:01Speaker 1: and heard about on the radio and things. The Starbucks
- 38:03Speaker 1: in Philly incident. Remember that the police were called because,
- 38:07Speaker 1: uh remember that one. The police were also called because
- 38:11Speaker 1: the young black female Yale college student. I know you
- 38:14Speaker 1: guys heard about this fellows fell asleep while studying in
- 38:17Speaker 1: the common area and uh that was crazy. How about
- 38:21Speaker 1: the three black women staying at an Airbnb in California,
- 38:25Speaker 1: They were detained by police. Yeah, that was horrible. Police
- 38:28Speaker 1: said that the neighbor called because the guests didn't waiver
- 38:31Speaker 1: or smile at her as they were leaving the airbnb.
- 38:34Speaker 1: The president of North Stroom rap Rack department store has
- 38:38Speaker 1: apologized to three young black men for racial profiling and
- 38:41Speaker 1: accusing them of shoplifting in the St Louis area while
- 38:45Speaker 1: they shopped for prom outfits waffle house in Alabama when
- 38:50Speaker 1: the employees called the police when the women refused to
- 38:53Speaker 1: pay for plastic utensils. And now uh Dr Bernice King,
- 38:58Speaker 1: the youngest daughter of civil rights icon Martin Luther King Jr.
- 39:02Speaker 1: Is a calling for Americans to boycott waffle House after
- 39:05Speaker 1: a video posted to social media showed a young black
- 39:08Speaker 1: man and prom attire being choked by a police officer
- 39:11Speaker 1: and slammed to the ground outside the waffle house location
- 39:15Speaker 1: in Warsaw, North Carolina. This is ridiculous, and this is
- 39:20Speaker 1: every day, every day, every day, every day, just like
- 39:24Speaker 1: a special time to isolate every day. What's what's happening
- 39:31Speaker 1: is I don't think there's an increase or anything. I
- 39:35Speaker 1: think this has been happening. It has happened repeatedly. It's
- 39:39Speaker 1: just now we have the power of social media and
- 39:42Speaker 1: camera phones and technology. Technology is reporting the dark underside
- 39:48Speaker 1: of this country to everybody who becomes shocked to see it.
- 39:53Speaker 1: But it's we've we've most of us have known this.
- 39:57Speaker 1: And now if this stuff is gonna have to this
- 40:01Speaker 1: stuff at waffle houses, you know, man, it's it's got
- 40:04Speaker 1: to be something because I'm just gonna tell you too.
- 40:07Speaker 1: You know, you don't have to be trained or the
- 40:13Speaker 1: You know, most waffle House employees are really kind people,
- 40:17Speaker 1: you know, most of them are. But there's I can
- 40:20Speaker 1: assure you, there's no training at waffle House is about
- 40:25Speaker 1: to do. And if you're gonna bring these under qualified
- 40:31Speaker 1: people into your establishment that is now going to represent
- 40:35Speaker 1: your brand, then y'all need to start doing some type
- 40:37Speaker 1: of racial sensitivity training for these people. I got your
- 40:41Speaker 1: paying minimum wage and all like this, but minimum wage
- 40:44Speaker 1: you're gonna bring in thoughts? Oh wow? Yeah? Alright, well
- 40:52Speaker 1: hold that thought. Steve More on racism and just being
- 40:55Speaker 1: black in America in about ten minutes at thirty or
- 40:57Speaker 1: four after the hour you're listening, She's Steven Show. All right.
- 41:03Speaker 1: We were talking about the realities of racism, um and
- 41:07Speaker 1: being black in America, all of these recent racial incidents
- 41:10Speaker 1: that have been happening like at the waffle House, at Starbucks,
- 41:13Speaker 1: at Airbnb, Nordstrom, rack and on and on. And now
- 41:16Speaker 1: Dr Bernie's King, the youngest daughter of Dr. Martin Luther
- 41:19Speaker 1: King Jr. Is calling for Americans simply to boycott waffle House. Well, look,
- 41:25Speaker 1: you know this is gonna make everybody start thinking because
- 41:29Speaker 1: a few things here. First of all, there's nothing new.
- 41:32Speaker 1: It's been happening. Like I said, technology and phone cameras
- 41:36Speaker 1: have exposed it and social media to the masses. It's
- 41:40Speaker 1: just like the first time when America got to see
- 41:42Speaker 1: from television Connors to television cameras exactly what Bull Connors
- 41:47Speaker 1: was doing two people down in Alabama that they didn't know. Well,
- 41:52Speaker 1: once they know that became this outcry. Well, this is
- 41:55Speaker 1: something that we've all already known for quite some time.
- 41:59Speaker 1: So this is nothing new for us, but now we're
- 42:02Speaker 1: being exposed to it. But these companies are gonna have
- 42:05Speaker 1: to get into some training program for these under qualified
- 42:09Speaker 1: people who don't qualify to work any other place, or
- 42:12Speaker 1: because the job conditions are so bad that they take
- 42:15Speaker 1: these jobs. There's nothing wrong with walking walk working at
- 42:18Speaker 1: a waffle house. Most people I've encountered a waffle house
- 42:21Speaker 1: have been really, really kind people through my years of
- 42:24Speaker 1: experience at waffle house, they're very nice people. But you're
- 42:27Speaker 1: also dealing with the class of people also too, who
- 42:30Speaker 1: are not trained to do much of anything else. So
- 42:33Speaker 1: now they bring their low uh thinking sales to work
- 42:38Speaker 1: and now here they go, and now all of a sudden,
- 42:40Speaker 1: here come a black person. Oh we got trouble. No,
- 42:44Speaker 1: we don't have trouble. No we don't. And so now
- 42:48Speaker 1: we've got to address this about the sensitivity training, just
- 42:52Speaker 1: like Starbucks is doing. Now. Also, do I think that
- 42:56Speaker 1: there's a slight rise in everything because President has created
- 43:02Speaker 1: a climate for now all of these right bart right
- 43:07Speaker 1: at right groups to come forward because they man, as
- 43:11Speaker 1: they claim it is now in the White House and
- 43:14Speaker 1: they've risen up. And it's brave and a cool thing
- 43:18Speaker 1: to be a skinhead white or an right white person
- 43:23Speaker 1: or white power white person. Look, I ain't got no
- 43:26Speaker 1: problem with white power. You can have all the white
- 43:28Speaker 1: power you want. You've been headed. So I don't, I don't.
- 43:31Speaker 1: I don't see the need for a damn group. Really,
- 43:34Speaker 1: you got everything. But but if if that's what you
- 43:37Speaker 1: want to do, that's fine, but it cannot be at
- 43:40Speaker 1: the expense of people who are non white. And that's
- 43:45Speaker 1: the problem and this whole thing that we're doing. See
- 43:49Speaker 1: how country, just this freedom of speech is too much freedom.
- 43:52Speaker 1: You can't freely get a permit to come down a
- 43:55Speaker 1: street that I pay taxes for to tell me how
- 43:59Speaker 1: much you hate me because of my color, my sexual preference,
- 44:03Speaker 1: or my race. I'm sorry, but you can't get to
- 44:06Speaker 1: permit to come down a public street. But they get
- 44:09Speaker 1: these people permits to come down and spew their racial
- 44:14Speaker 1: racial bigotry and they walk down the street that we
- 44:17Speaker 1: pay taxes for. That ain't right. And so Seemen, we
- 44:21Speaker 1: got to readjustice her and regardless, that's what our president said.
- 44:25Speaker 1: That are not good people on both sides. I'm sorry,
- 44:30Speaker 1: but you cannot be in a hate group and hate
- 44:32Speaker 1: a person because of their sexual preference, their race, their
- 44:36Speaker 1: religion and then call yourself a good person. You're not.
- 44:42Speaker 1: You're not a good person. And I don't care what
- 44:44Speaker 1: he said. But he's made them feel like because they're
- 44:48Speaker 1: playing his tapes at these organizations. Man, that's the ugly
- 44:51Speaker 1: part about repeat. Mm hmmm. Yeah, I'm glad you said that, Steve,
- 44:58Speaker 1: because a lot of people are saying that they feel
- 45:01Speaker 1: empowered now, these racists because of who's in the White House.
- 45:05Speaker 1: They feel empowered to um, you know, take these advantages

- 45:23Speaker 1: and his money, and anything that attacks either one of
- 45:29Speaker 1: those things, he's gonna have a problem, And anything that
- 45:33Speaker 1: aids him in getting that power of money, he's gonna

- 56:03Speaker 1: it is the Strawberry Letters. All right, thank you? Enough
- 56:05Speaker 1: subjects can't judge a book by its cover. Dear Stephen Shirley,
- 56:10Speaker 1: I've been dating the six four tall Drink of Water
- 56:13Speaker 1: for a few months. He is honest, generous, humorous, and
- 56:16Speaker 1: fun to be around. We decided it was time to
- 56:20Speaker 1: take the next step in our relationship since we have
- 56:23Speaker 1: been flirting and making suggestive comments to each other for weeks,
- 56:27Speaker 1: so we did the deed. If you get my drift,
- 56:30Speaker 1: and let me tell you, you cannot judge a book
- 56:33Speaker 1: by its cover. With all of his tall and chocolate
- 56:38Speaker 1: and goodness, he is not packing a thing. I mean,
- 56:42Speaker 1: he couldn't even hurt a fly. I couldn't use any
- 56:46Speaker 1: of my normal tricks because he couldn't stay in the game.
- 56:50Speaker 1: Every time that I tried, I knew you would love
- 56:52Speaker 1: this letter, Steve. Every time that I tried my swivel
- 56:55Speaker 1: and the hip move, he slid out of bounds. My
- 57:00Speaker 1: boyfriend is from the Motherland, and some stereotypes, some stereotypes
- 57:04Speaker 1: are very true, so it's hard for me to go
- 57:06Speaker 1: from an anaconda to a garter snake. Uh. And another thing.
- 57:11Speaker 1: He talked NonStop while we were getting busy. Whose whose
- 57:16Speaker 1: is it? Do you like that? Did you did you
- 57:18Speaker 1: want me when you first saw me? I mean really,
- 57:22Speaker 1: only men who are bringing it are allowed to talk it,
- 57:27Speaker 1: are allowed to talk smack and ask questions. Stephen Shirley,
- 57:31Speaker 1: I need you rolls advice? What do I do with
- 57:34Speaker 1: little fella? How? How important is great sex in a relationship?
- 57:39Speaker 1: I cannot fake it again, but I also don't want
- 57:42Speaker 1: to leave him over something so little, no pun intended.
- 57:47Speaker 1: I think it was. It was pretty loud, pretty clear. Yeah, uh,
- 57:52Speaker 1: you know what. It depends on what your plans are
- 57:56Speaker 1: with with this man in the future, if you if
- 57:57Speaker 1: you have you guys have future plans like him. You
- 58:01Speaker 1: say he's honest, generous, humorous, and fun to be around.
- 58:04Speaker 1: Is that where you want to keep it? I mean,
- 58:06Speaker 1: do you want to keep it at the fun stage?
- 58:08Speaker 1: You haven't mentioned catching serious feelings for him, or love
- 58:11Speaker 1: or anything like that. Uh so what is it that
- 58:14Speaker 1: you want? Just the sex? And to answer your question, yes,
- 58:17Speaker 1: sex is very important in a relationship. But you're not
- 58:20Speaker 1: in a relationship or are you? I mean, I'm not
- 58:23Speaker 1: really clear. You've known this guy for a few weeks. Uh,
- 58:26Speaker 1: you all are having relations though you I don't know
- 58:29Speaker 1: about a relationship, but you are having relations Uh So,
- 58:32Speaker 1: if you decide to stay with this guy, you know
- 58:35Speaker 1: what you're in for. You know, because you've already taken
- 58:37Speaker 1: it for a test drive. So you have to decide
- 58:39Speaker 1: if that's what you want. You'll have to weigh in
- 58:41Speaker 1: if having a good man with a small package can
- 58:44Speaker 1: satisfy you in a relationship. And uh, you've got to
- 58:48Speaker 1: stop and if you can, please stop comparing him to
- 58:51Speaker 1: your ex with the anaconda, because that's not gonna make
- 58:53Speaker 1: this relationship last. You know uh when you guys are
- 58:57Speaker 1: getting busy, Steve, Well, well here we go again. I've
- 59:04Speaker 1: been serious for a couple of letters. Brother, well it's
- 59:07Speaker 1: over you back. Yeah, here we go, fellas subject. Can't
- 59:13Speaker 1: judge your book by a cover, the letter titling. The
- 59:18Speaker 1: letter should be how do I get this over You?
- 59:25Speaker 1: Just need to take the sea off of this cover.
- 59:28Speaker 1: Oh and change the how do I get this over cut?
- 59:33Speaker 1: This ain't gonna la Stephen Sherley, I've been dating a
- 59:36Speaker 1: six folk tall tall Dracob war Honest, he's generous, he's
- 59:43Speaker 1: here us. He got to be funny, is just about
- 59:48Speaker 1: to begin. See that's how you know you believe he's honest,
- 59:54Speaker 1: generous and humorous. Yes, he's humorous, and the jokes is
- 59:58Speaker 1: just beginning. And he found to be around like a
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: short clown jumping out of votes wagon girl. We decided
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: it was time take the next step, because we've been
- 1:00:14Speaker 1: flirting and making suggested comments for weeks now, so we did. Indeed,
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: if you get my drill and let me tell you,
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: you cannot judge your book, Bries, come with all that
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: is tall and shocklate the goodness he ain't packing a
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: damn than ready. Yes, because he ill go. He ain't
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: packing a damn thing. I mean, now here where to
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: let her get good. He couldn't even hurt a fly.
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: You are in here, illy quipped with a woman who
- 1:00:53Speaker 1: wants to be hurt, put something on me. Ain't me
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: hot lot, But he couldn't even hurt a fly. And
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: then she tricked because in the next statement, she said,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: I couldn't use any on my normal tricks. She got tricks.
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: Tricks is for kids, selling rabbit for not in the
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: bad room, tricks for growing for this ain't a boxing seal,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: this growing as woman tricks who wants to be hurt.
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: You can't hurt a fly. And she can't use normal
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: her normal tricks because because she got tricks growing women,
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: tricks ain't for kids. This ain't sill this bad room
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: at she got tricks you and he ain't got nothing
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: to handle the tricks because she said, because if she
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: did her tricks, he couldn't stay in the game. Because
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: see here was wanted the tricks. Every time I tried
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: my swivel in the hip moved you know, pop popping,
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: moving round, boom boom, he fell out the game. And
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: we know what that means. Yes, he's off the field. Yeah,
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: he out of box over there by the gator y tablet.
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: Put the pop pop slip slip. Move on him. That
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: his is over here where you're helping it. Alright back
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: on the field. Well I didn't call you out to
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: hang on, Steve, I know you're excited. We'll have part
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: two of Steve's response to Can't Judge a Book by
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: Its Cover coming up at twenty three after the hour.
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve,
- 1:02:43Speaker 1: come on, let's go with part two of today's Strawberry letter.
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: Can't Judge a Book by its cover? Is the subject
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: k judge a book by his cover? She'd a met
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: old big six fold black palos what she can I'll
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: be dead black, hemful is hell six foot folk, tall, generous, honest, humorous,
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: very funny. You're about to find out how funny he is.
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: All y'all finally decided it is time to go on
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: and do it. It starts popping off and you discover
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: he's not packing a damn thing. He couldn't hurt a fly.
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: Once again, we're talking about a woman who won'ts to
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: be hurt. But you can't make no, can't't no, what
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: none of that? What too watch too much? Too much?
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: None of that? Wait wait wait wait wait wait wait
- 1:03:48Speaker 1: wait wait wait wait wait hold up, hold up, none
- 1:03:51Speaker 1: of that, but slow down, none of that, none of that.
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: It's been a minute. Boy, I can't I can't breathe.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: That ain't none of that. So now she's so disappointed.
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: She couldn't even use none of her tricks. She got tricks.
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: Every time she tried my swivel in the hip move
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: you know where you're going to the right, to the left,
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: he slid out of bounds. He out the game. Little
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: tator can't stay up? What is tat like Tater tott
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: as in Tater tott little junior man. Wow. So now
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: she's so hurt and disappointed. She don't know what's going on.
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: It didn't got to the point now where she then
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: wrote this letter into us, and it's say because she
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: wants this relationship, but he can't try this now. Her
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: problem me is she's using comparison because her ex boyfriend
- 1:05:08Speaker 1: was from the motherland Africa, and some stereotypes are very true.
- 1:05:14Speaker 1: That's hard for me to go from anaconda to a
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: garden state and another thing here the part where he
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: got good. See this is where the humor come in.
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: There you said he was humorous, So here we go.
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: He talked naw stop while we was busy, nah stopped,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: and he was at whose is it? Do you like that?
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: Did you want me the first time you saw me?
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: I mean, really, why as you're talking? Only men who
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: are bringing it are allowed to talk, smack and ask questions? Right? Well,
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: what you should have did was answer, I'm not answered,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: So let's go, Oh baby, whose is it? Well? Who's hell?
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: Anybody help? When you get in the house, let me
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: know whose is it? I wanted it to be you?
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Whose is it? I'm not really shot. I didn't hit
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: the knock at the dough. Whose is it? When you
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: get in there, I let you know. You gotta start answering, Chris,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: do you like that? Like? What? What are you doing?
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: Do you like it? Are you doing something? Do you
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: like it? I let you know. Soon as I feel something,
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: do you like it? I shall won't to man. You
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: must start answering questions. Did you want me the first
- 1:06:57Speaker 1: time you saw you? Yes? But not changed her mind?
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: That wanted you when I first saw you. I still
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: don't want you see and then she says only people
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: who are bringing it should be allowed to talk smack
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: and ask questions. Stephen, shall I need y'all's advice? What
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: do I do with little fellow? High? Important is great
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: sex and relationship. I can't fake it again. But I
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: also don't want to leave him over something so little.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: No pun INTI, Well, you ain't got to leave him
- 1:07:42Speaker 1: over something so little. There's a solution to this. There's
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: a solution to this because he's six folks, but little
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: fella ain't packing. What should I do? I don't want
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: to break up over something so small. Well, ma'am, here's

- 1:09:58Speaker 1: Watch your there now you're listening to the Steve Harvey
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: Morning Show. Well, yesterday most of us celebrated Mother's Day,
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: and it seems like a lot of millennials won't have
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: to travel far to spend the day with mom, alright,
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: because they're still living with their mom. Okay right now? Yeah.
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: A report by Zillo finds it nearly twenty two and
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: a half percent twenty two point five percent of US millennials,
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: that's age, it's four to thirty six, they are living
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: with their mom, which is about twelve million young adults.
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: And why haven't millennials moved out on their own? Well,
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: according to the report, twelve percent of them are currently unemployed. No,
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: he got a job. Does he live with you? Yes?
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: With millennia, what range is debt? Well, since he has
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: the most kids, I think we should defer to Steve
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: on this one. Steve, you have some rules for when
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: you live with someone until you get on your feet. Now,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: this is not for millennials, anybody, anybody, So I don't
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: want to make that I don't want millennials to feel
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: that way. This is for anybody. You've had people stay
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: at your how I had people come live with me college?
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: College rulemates, stuff like that. It's some stuff. Now. These
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: are Steve Harvey's rules for living with someone until you
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: get on your feet. These are dudes and don'ts. Some
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: things you need to keep in mind. Here's one right here.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: Your goal every day is to make it seem like
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: you there but you're not. Yeah, that's your goal. That's
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: when you wake up. Get it in your mind, Bill,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: but look like because I get asked to me. Now,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: you don't want that. Here's an another one. This is
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: very important. Your car should never block me in I
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: can't want to go out and I go out there
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: and your car in the day and where you in
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: that sleep? In fact, I got news for you. Your
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: car shouldn't even be in front of the house. Talk
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: up the street and walk down to where you rent
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: free round the corner, park at the up the street,
- 1:12:34Speaker 1: at the parking lot, at the grocery store. That man.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: Try to make it look like you ain't even got
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: no car. If you're watching TV in the other room. Yeah,
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: your laugh should not be what I can hear laid down.
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: Don't just good bucket. This should be learned how to
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: laugh like this. Let me show you how you laugh
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: from your other people. You can't be enjoying their TV
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: and all this thing. Just how you lat what is
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: real funny? That's gonna be hard. Yeah, Steve has put
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: me out. That's it. I don't give a damn what
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: you want. Here's another one. Don't let me walk in
- 1:13:36Speaker 1: the house and have to tell you to get out
- 1:13:38Speaker 1: of my chick. You should only sit. I'm gonna tell
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: you the areas you are to sit in kitchen, your
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: bad rum and occasionally in the bank. Don't be taking
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: read material and that what you have focus focus, stare
- 1:14:05Speaker 1: at the toilet tissue role. How do your business? Get up,
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: get out, get out. You better count the little preforation
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: holes on the toilets like that in there. Okay, another one. Hey,
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: you didn't put it in the fridge. Don't touch it
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: in the that's the man. He bought one color. That's
- 1:14:34Speaker 1: all you're reaching the touch. Don't be shifting stuff around
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: looking all in the back read labels. You didn't. You
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: didn't put it in there. Get your hands off. I
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: like it. When you come over work, go right to
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: your room. Nothing in here. Straight to your rooms. But
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: it's all down the hallway, looking at all, look at
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: where is this in the picture. That's my damn grandmama.
- 1:15:15Speaker 1: Quit asking about it? Why are you roaming around? Right?
- 1:15:19Speaker 1: So what is this Steve ruth for living with someone rules?
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: If you got to stay with somebody until you get
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: on your feet, I'm just giving you some dudes, and
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: don't so you don't stay there the whole time. Listen
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: to me. If I'm watching TV and I get up,
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: walk out that room, don't change your damn chum, don't
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: mean I'm gone, Don't change that damn sitting there watching
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: it together, not doles off. Watch what I was watching
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: for ours. Let me on my eyes and natural geographic
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: is going your ass in here watching all loring all
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: I should wake up to when I went to sleep. Right,
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Let me like, here's one moment so serious, Yeah this
- 1:16:20Speaker 1: has happened, not a matter of fact. Let me make
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: this to laugh. You can only have company where the
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: company leaves come over here. You and I have a company.
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: Hell yet wherever they stay, you go and be in
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: the company of your company all you want, But your
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: company can't come hell over here, not in my house.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Everybody drinking glasses all right, coming up in the top
- 1:16:55Speaker 1: of the hour. Actor Chadwick Boseman delivered a powerful commencement
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: speech at Howard University on Saturday. Howard Forever. All right,
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: right after this, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: Actor Chadwick Boseman, We Love Him, star of the Box
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: office smash Black Panther, returned to his alma mater, Howard
- 1:17:17Speaker 1: University on Saturday to urge his newest graduates to find
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: purpose in their lives and persevere even amid adversity. Chadwick
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: also applauded students for their victory and on campus protests,
- 1:17:29Speaker 1: and describing his early struggles as a black actor. In
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: front of an audience of more than eight thousand family
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: and friends, Bozeman encouraged the graduates to not only exceed
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: in their next steps, but also strive to achieve their
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: life's purpose. He spoke about making it to the hilltop,
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: which represents the culmination of the intellectual and spiritual journey
- 1:17:51Speaker 1: you have undergone while you were here. Take a listen.
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: I can think of no better place to be right now.
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: After the Black Panther in Avengance care and pains that
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: to return and participate in these graduation ceremonies with you.
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: It is a great privilege graduates to address you on
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: your day of day, marking one are the most important
- 1:18:10Speaker 1: accomplishments of your life to date. This is a magical place.
- 1:18:15Speaker 1: Almost anything can happen here, ain't you. Howard University has
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: many names, the Mecca, the Hilltop Students. Your protests are
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: also promising because many of you will leave Howard they
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: enter systems and institutions that have a have a history
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: of discrimination and marginalization. The fact that you have struggled
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: with this university that you love is a sign that
- 1:18:42Speaker 1: you can use your education to improve the world that
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: you're entering. I was on a roll when I entered
- 1:18:50Speaker 1: the system of entertainment, Dada, television and film. I stand
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: here today knowing that my Howard University education for far
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: me to play Jackie Robinson, James Brown so good, Marshall
- 1:19:05Speaker 1: and to Challa. Wow. It was powerful. Yeah. Yeah, he's
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: such a just I just love him. Yeah he really is,
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: Steve so talent talented to play anybody man, Yeah, yeah, man.
- 1:19:26Speaker 1: Jackie Robinson was really yeah, yeah yeah. J Brown was
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: really good because I didn't think he was going to
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: hit that James Brown, man, what he Ke's dancing and
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: everything they tell about him doing the Steve Hart story,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: that's what they're talking about. If anyone can do it.
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: He yeah, something he's got broadened his nose and picking
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: his lips to start. We didn't get with your skin tone.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: That don't matter because I've always acted dogs. I've never
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: I've never been put in the in the high yellow box.
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: I've always acted very dog skinned. I take that directly
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: after my daddy. He's doing the Steve history. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: he can do it. Yeah, he would be believable too.
- 1:20:28Speaker 1: He's done third good Marshall can't do to Steve Harvey story. Tommy.
- 1:20:36Speaker 1: Tommy can act as well. If he can act, What
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: do you mean he can't do He can't. You don't
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: think I'm tall enough, but everybody looks tall in the movies.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: What else is it? Like? Everything limited to his height
- 1:20:55Speaker 1: at it you weren't even thinking about that. I hadn't
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: even gone that yet. Now that you're bringing up and
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: it would be a major stomaching and you're doing the
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: Steve Harvest store. How many courtroom dramas as we're gonna
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: have you? Now that that's gonna throw you off too.
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: But you ain't gonna be living in Carcker. You didn't
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: really grow up that pope. You can't always had a
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: little bit wasn't in the project. That's just wasn't in
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: the project. You ain't get none of that. So if
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: you think I got to live your whole life to
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: do your life store, well you got. I mean, you know, man,
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: like you always said, you're a method actor. You gotta
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: draw from experiences. You draw from your past experiences. And
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: what are you gonna do all the masks whether you
- 1:21:41Speaker 1: took you ain't want no fights. Chadwick ain't really keen
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: to what county? What is it? But I just said
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: that how it was a magical place and magical things
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: happened you. You went to Texas a and m hell. Yeah,
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: yeah that college Timmy went to. We had to go
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: down a couple of times. Wow, oh yeah, the Texas Atties.
- 1:22:14Speaker 1: Tommy was the first black theater arts major to ever
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: graduate out there. That right, then, Tommy asks, ain't that
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: old the fact he the first, he the first black anything.
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: Don't try to tell y'all now, it'd be harder time
- 1:22:31Speaker 1: and play me I can play, I think, Yeah, I
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: really don't y'all give him a chance seping him. He's
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: got he got the cussing. He can do that. Got
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: that all. You're cussed out by the same person all
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: your life. You have some of his mannerisms down. When
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: you do your comedy show, I mean you you still
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: open up though with Steve. Really he did it on
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: your Yeah, ain't anybody Fen sent through on ninety minutes
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: of that's if I'm a I'm gonna cut off. Let
- 1:23:16Speaker 1: me ask you out, yea? Would you let it be
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: your entire story? Though he don't know you cut something out?
- 1:23:24Speaker 1: You have to cut a lot out. It's unbelievable. It's
- 1:23:28Speaker 1: my daughter Morgan told me one time. She said, Dan, really,
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: you're making that up. Marge looked at him and said, no,
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: he ain't. Sweet like yeah, yeah. Marge told me. She said, Steve,
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: stop telling the kids your life story. They from a
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: whole another world. That's they can't even Steve. Just stop
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: telling it to him. I used to tell him stuff, man,
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: my kid, Danny just making up. Okay, I'm saying y'all
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: stupid punk as rich kids on my last All right? Uh,
- 1:24:02Speaker 1: coming up at twenty after the hour wedding, jitters for that. Yeah,

- 1:24:22Speaker 1: There is this public fascination over Prince Harry and Megan Markle.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: The TV network Lifetime made a movie about them, and
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: according to Entertainment Tonight, the mother of Mark, Megan Markle,
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: arrived in London to help calm last minute nerves. Megan
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: has been married and divorced. She has experienced walking down
- 1:24:41Speaker 1: the aisle, but never before of course with a prince.

- 1:25:05Speaker 1: inevitability began to set in. Megan surprised herself with moments
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: of intense Jitter's source told Entertainment Tonight quote Doria Ragland
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: is here to help Megan relax in the last days
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: before she becomes royal. Doria being her Mom's sources also
- 1:25:22Speaker 1: tell us US Weekly magazine that during the craziness of
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: the coming days, Megan's mom will be meeting the family. Yep,
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: she's going to have tea with the queen. Okay, yes, yes,
- 1:25:36Speaker 1: Prince Charles will be there, Prince William and Kate Middleton
- 1:25:39Speaker 1: his wife within the next few days, so she'll be
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: all over the place. We know, yeah, we know. Megan
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: is nervous. She's about to be a princess, but we're
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: so happy for her, a black princess. They're they're from California,
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: her mother's African American. Her dad is the one and
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: the family. No, Mon'm gonna go there. Cooler down, bring
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: some of that lad. He's gonna give her away. I
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: mean it was some talk at first initially if he
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: was going to do it or not. But yeah, he's
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: coming to the wedding. So they'll be married. Prince Harry
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: and Megan Marko will be married this Saturday, May night.

- 1:28:25Speaker 1: how much of this is gonna make the air, but
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: Lord Helmer said, got a good one for you. I
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: go over to this family. I don't even want to
- 1:28:34Speaker 1: say their name, just because I don't want no trouble,
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: because I don't know how it's gonna go. Uh. We
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: got two identical twins on the ends. One is the
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: captain and one is the number five player. They will
- 1:28:48Speaker 1: about my age, I would assume because he was born
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: in the fifties. That kept telling them. Then that was
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: her brother, the twins brother next to him, and then
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: it was the twins brother's wife, and then it was
- 1:29:06Speaker 1: this girl that was their niece. Okay, so I'm going
- 1:29:10Speaker 1: down the line. I meet him. She introduced herself. She
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: team captain. I said, introduce your people. She introduced, and
- 1:29:15Speaker 1: that's my twin sister on the on the end. They
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: look alike. The identical. Got no problem with that, come
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: to find out. Now let's go down the line. I
- 1:29:25Speaker 1: go meet the brother next to him. He trains Tennessee
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: walker horses. I've never met a person who trained Tennessee
- 1:29:33Speaker 1: walks those high stepping horses. Yeah, he trains them. The
- 1:29:38Speaker 1: woman next to him was his wife. They like me
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: and Margie. They're blended family. Uh. But they've been dating
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: for twenty six years, so finally they're getting married four
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: years ago and together their kids is like thirty seven,
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: thirty six, thirty twenty nine. The youngest one is twenty five. Okay,
- 1:30:14Speaker 1: but then here coming nine yeo, okay, So we got
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: start out. I didn't even get into that. It just
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: got out of hand. So I go down to the
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: end to meet the twining system, and I couldn't pronounce
- 1:30:29Speaker 1: her name. Now this is now. You know it's gonna
- 1:30:31Speaker 1: be good because I I remember how to spell it
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: l A v A l e r I A l
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: a v A l e r I A. Oh man,
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: that's her name. So now I'm down now. Yeah, so
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: I'm struggling because with my public school education, I'm trying
- 1:31:07Speaker 1: to sound out lava a v a lava real lava Liria.
- 1:31:14Speaker 1: I got it, no, Steve. So I go back up
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: on the end to her twin sister. I'm reading her
- 1:31:22Speaker 1: twin sister name. Her twin sister name Valerie, just Valerie.
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: I know Valerie. Everybody know a Valerie. Everyone. So I
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: go back down there and I go, I don't understand,
- 1:31:36Speaker 1: and she says, where we identical twins? I said, what's
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: your name? Love Valerie? I said, love Valerie, and your
- 1:31:49Speaker 1: sister name Valor. Got sick of this mess. I'm not
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: trying to come up with no name for these twins.
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: You're gonna be Valerie and you're gonna be Love. All right,
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: coming up Steve's closing remarks. That's all I can say
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: right after this. I can't wait. You're listening to show,
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: all right, our last break of the day. Right before
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: we get to your closing remarks, Steve, I wanted to
- 1:32:18Speaker 1: say thank you to Tommy. I didn't tell you guys this,
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: but Tommy did something really nice for for Nesto and I.
- 1:32:24Speaker 1: He Um had tickets to a play and he Um
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: gave it to Nesto and I for a date night.
- 1:32:30Speaker 1: So Friday night we went to see the Fabulous, Fabulous,
- 1:32:34Speaker 1: Fabulous Vanessa Bell Calloway starring in Lettuce from Zora. She
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: was at the Waco Theater. Nice. Yeah what it was
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: opening night. It was a one one woman show and
- 1:32:48Speaker 1: uh she handled her business. I say, Tony Award. Do
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: yourself a favor, go check her out. Yeah, Letters from
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: Zora starring the beautiful and talented Vanessa Bell Calloway's girl.
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: Yeah she is, Yeah she is. Yeah. Let's see what. Well,
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: it's about the author Zora Neil Hurston and her It
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: was her life story, all the things that she went through.
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: How I didn't know that she was best friends with
- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Langston Hughes. I mean they were like this like a
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: brother and sister relationship. I mean she had a fabulous life. Yeah,
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: really fabulous. And you know, some of her greatest heartbreaks,
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: and I don't want to give everything away were the
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: was the criticism that she got from other black authors
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: and other black writers. You know, she was telling her
- 1:33:33Speaker 1: story and writing it the way she wanted to it,
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: to be, writing her characters. But she got a lot
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: of criticism. You know, somebody sitting over here, ain't doing
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: what you're doing. You get it acclaimed for, and all
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: of a sudden they got problem with Yeah, I'll man,
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: that's gonna tie right into my clothing remarks. Real good. Alright, alright,
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: so again, go check out Letters from Zora, starring Vanessa
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: Bell Callaway is at the Waco Theater Center. She'll be
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: there until Cuentia. That's Beyonce Mama Theater. He was there,
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: by the way, I sat right behind them. It was great. Well,
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: let's go. You know what, this is really good to
- 1:34:12Speaker 1: hear about Vanessa Bell Callaway's success with a one woman play.
- 1:34:17Speaker 1: What's it called again? Sherlan letters from Yeah, and that's
- 1:34:21Speaker 1: really good. And you were just talking about how this
- 1:34:25Speaker 1: playwright was a writer and one of her most hurtful
- 1:34:29Speaker 1: times where she was being criticized for her writing by
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: other writers, other black writers. And that really ties into
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: what I wanted to talk to everybody about today, that
- 1:34:43Speaker 1: it is perfectly, perfectly okay to be you. It is.
- 1:34:53Speaker 1: It's perfectly okay to be you. People get tripped up
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: all the time in the process of just being themselves.
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: But can I tell you something. It's perfectly okay to
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: be you. You should be you. See, God designed you
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: specifically to be exactly who you are. Now. Listen, You're
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: gonna have to improve along the way. You will make
- 1:35:19Speaker 1: improvements of the version that you are, but who you
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: are God designed you that way. I'm talking about the
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: goodness that's in you now. I'm not talking about when
- 1:35:31Speaker 1: you veer off and you do something wrong, and you
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: dave everybody got to accept when you do something wrong.
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: That's not what I'm referring to. I'm referring to the
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: goodness in all of us, the good parts about us,
- 1:35:44Speaker 1: the caring side of us, the determined side of us,
- 1:35:48Speaker 1: the imagination side of us, the exploring side of us,
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: the curiosity side of us, the willingness to help side
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: of us. All these sides we have these unique gifts
- 1:36:04Speaker 1: and talents that we have. God designed you specifically to
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: be you. You are fine just as you are. You
- 1:36:16Speaker 1: can't please everybody. You can't be everybody's somebody. You can
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: be somebody somebody, but you will never be everybody's somebody.
- 1:36:31Speaker 1: That don't happen in life. Everybody not gonna like you.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: I don't care what you do. That's just not realistic thinking.
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: So what you gotta do is you just gotta get
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: with the core group of people who do like you
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: the way you are, and that's a lot of people
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: over the scheme of things. Don't get so hung up
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: when one person can't stand you are, one person find
- 1:36:53Speaker 1: you unacceptable. You were not designed to be everybody's somebody.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: You were designed to be you, specifically you. God created
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: us all to be ourselves. Everybody don't like me. I'm
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: perfectly okay with that. I'm used to it. When I
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: see some haters typing something about me or blogging something
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: about me, I'll let him go head on because I
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: wasn't designed for them, and neither were you. You weren't
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: designed to fit in with all your co workers. You
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: weren't because some of your designs are just not compatible.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: But it's okay. That's what makes the world go around.
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: Everybody wasn't designed to vote for Hillary Clinton, Rock Obama,
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: or anybody else. Some people were designed to vote for
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: Donald Trump. You might as well get over it. People
- 1:37:43Speaker 1: are designed different ways, but you are perfectly fine the
- 1:37:50Speaker 1: way you are. You are not made to be them.
- 1:37:55Speaker 1: You were made to be you. And let me give
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: you some advice. If you keep adjusting yourself to try
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: to be everybody's somebody, if you keep adjusting yourself trying
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: to be everybody's somebody, you're gonna find out that you're
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: gonna lose who you were created to be. That God
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: designs you specifically to be who you are. You have
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: all you need, You don't need anybody's permission to be you.
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: As long as you stay on the righteous side of
- 1:38:32Speaker 1: who you are, you have every right to be exactly
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: who you are. You are absolutely fine. You were designed
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: to be different, and so was I live with that
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: because that's who God designed you to be, specifically you.
