- 0:40Speaker 3: I'm sold.
- 0:41Speaker 1: You just left the Joint Session Center and it was
- 0:45Speaker 1: one hell of a night. If there's anything you can say,
- 0:47Speaker 1: Democrats pretty much stood for nothing like it at all.
- 0:50Speaker 2: Well, look, this is where doing the podcast is fun.
- 0:53Speaker 2: It is twelve twenty eight in the morning. I just
- 0:56Speaker 2: got got home to my DC apartment about five minutes
- 0:59Speaker 2: ago and just left the State of the Union and
- 1:03Speaker 2: the State of the Union. I got to say it
- 1:04Speaker 2: was I think a spectacular State of the Union addressed
- 1:07Speaker 2: from President Trump. It's the fifth one hees given. I
- 1:09Speaker 2: think it was triumphant. I think it was positive. I
- 1:12Speaker 2: think it was forward looking. I think it emphasized exactly
- 1:16Speaker 2: what you and I predicted in Monday's pod that he
- 1:19Speaker 2: was going to emphasize. It emphasized promises, made promises, kept
- 1:23Speaker 2: the victories we've seen in the first month and a
- 1:26Speaker 2: half of the presidency. But I got to say all
- 1:30Speaker 2: of that was overshadowed in many ways by the utterly
- 1:36Speaker 2: disgraceful behavior of the Democrats. It was something I've never
- 1:41Speaker 2: seen before. It was shocking, it was disrespectful, it was defiant,
- 1:47Speaker 2: it was delusional.
- 1:48Speaker 3: We're gonna break it all down.
- 1:49Speaker 2: We're gonna break down the best parts of the speech,
- 1:51Speaker 2: the best things President Trump had to say, and we're
- 1:54Speaker 2: going to talk about what it indicates that today's Democrat
- 1:57Speaker 2: party stands for nothing, applat for nothing, does not cheer
- 2:02Speaker 2: on America. It is something never before seen at a
- 2:07Speaker 2: State of the Union address.
- 2:08Speaker 3: We're going to break it down on what it means.
- 2:11Speaker 1: While we may have won this election, the fight to
- 2:13Speaker 1: restore our great nation is only beginning, and now is
- 2:16Speaker 1: the time to take a stand, and Patriot Mobile is
- 2:19Speaker 1: leading the charge. It has never been easier to switch
- 2:23Speaker 1: your cell phone than in twenty twenty five. With technology,
- 2:26Speaker 1: you can do it literally over the phone with a
- 2:29Speaker 1: code they send you. It is amazing. But here's the
- 2:32Speaker 1: reason why I use Patriot Mobile now. One I save
- 2:36Speaker 1: money over what I was paying before with Big Mobile,
- 2:39Speaker 1: and two, I'm no longer supporting the radical left now.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I didn't realize until someone told me just how radical
- 2:45Speaker 1: Big Mobile had gotten. Where they are supporting organizations that
- 2:48Speaker 1: pay for abortions or supporting radical democratic causes and organizations
- 2:53Speaker 1: they're helping democrats get elect it at the local, state,
- 2:56Speaker 1: and national level. That is actually why over a decade
- 2:59Speaker 1: ago Mobile was started and they are now America's only
- 3:04Speaker 1: Christian conservative wireless provider. Now, let's talk about coverage. In
- 3:08Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, you have zero problems with coverage anymore
- 3:12Speaker 1: because well, Patriot Mobile uses all three major networks. What
- 3:16Speaker 1: does that mean for you? It means whatever coverage you're
- 3:19Speaker 1: used to now you're going to stay exactly the same,
- 3:22Speaker 1: or you may even be able to improve it, but
- 3:24Speaker 1: it will not be any issues when it comes to coverage.
- 3:27Speaker 1: In fact, they have a coverage guarantee. But when you
- 3:30Speaker 1: pay your bill, this is where the magic happens. They
- 3:33Speaker 1: take a portion of your bill every month and they
- 3:35Speaker 1: give it back to organizations that support our first and
- 3:38Speaker 1: our second amendments that support the sanctity of life, that
- 3:42Speaker 1: support our veterans, our first responders, and are wounded warriors.
- 3:46Speaker 1: And like I said, switching with technology now has never
- 3:49Speaker 1: been easier. You keep your same phone you have now,
- 3:52Speaker 1: keep your same phone number, and you can even upgrade
- 3:54Speaker 1: to a new phone if you want to. They have
- 3:56Speaker 1: a one hundred percent US based customer support team to
- 3:59Speaker 1: help you find the perfect plan and to save money.
- 4:02Speaker 1: And if you own a business or a small business,
- 4:04Speaker 1: they have a division that just works on switching multiple
- 4:07Speaker 1: lines over easily. So right now, go to Patriotmobile dot
- 4:12Speaker 1: com slash ferguson or call them nine to seven to
- 4:16Speaker 1: two Patriot You're going to get a free month of
- 4:19Speaker 1: service with the promo code ferguson. So switch to Patriot
- 4:22Speaker 1: Mobile and make a difference with every call you make.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile dot com slash ferguson or nine seven to
- 4:29Speaker 1: two Patriot Senator, I want to start with what stole
- 4:32Speaker 1: the show? You mentioned in a second ago, and and you,
- 4:35Speaker 1: I know, probably had a mental list in your in
- 4:37Speaker 1: your head. In there in the room, I was making
- 4:41Speaker 1: notes on my phone and putting them out on X
- 4:44Speaker 1: of all the things that Democratic lawmakers couldn't stand up
- 4:48Speaker 1: to honor. It's a long list.
- 4:51Speaker 2: Yeah, but look, let's start with the very beginning of
- 4:54Speaker 2: the night. The very beginning of the night is when
- 4:58Speaker 2: the president walks onto the the floor of the Senate
- 5:00Speaker 2: and he's introduced the President of the United States.
- 5:05Speaker 3: And not a.
- 5:07Speaker 2: Single Democrat stood, not a single Democrat applauded. Now, Ben listen,
- 5:14Speaker 2: I've been to thirteen State of the Union addresses. I've
- 5:17Speaker 2: gone to everyone since I got elected to the Senate,
- 5:19Speaker 2: and I actually loved going to the State of the Union.
- 5:21Speaker 2: There's a pageantry to it, there's something amazing. It's more
- 5:24Speaker 2: fun when your guys in office. It's more fun when
- 5:27Speaker 2: you get to cheer on your own party. But I
- 5:29Speaker 2: go go when the Democrats are in office. And I
- 5:32Speaker 2: got to tell you, every single time Joe Biden walked in,
- 5:38Speaker 2: every single time Barack Obama walked in, I stood up,
- 5:41Speaker 2: and I applauded, not because I agreed with their agendas.
- 5:44Speaker 2: Their agendas were disgraceful and disastrous, but because I respect
- 5:48Speaker 2: the office a president of the United States, and I
- 5:50Speaker 2: respect the American people. And I have never once seen
- 5:57Speaker 2: the opposing party refused to applaud.
- 6:00Speaker 3: For the president.
- 6:01Speaker 2: Understand what a break with tradition that is. Even in
- 6:05Speaker 2: past years, the Democrats applauded at the outset for the
- 6:08Speaker 2: President of the United States until tonight and and the
- 6:13Speaker 2: entire night. I guess I'm actually grumpy with the Democrats
- 6:17Speaker 2: because they've they've stolen my favorite game to play at
- 6:20Speaker 2: the State of the Union, so I can't.
- 6:22Speaker 1: By the way, I know this game, and that's why
- 6:24Speaker 1: i'm laughing right now, because it was a great game
- 6:26Speaker 1: you created years ago.
- 6:27Speaker 3: Yeah, and we've talked about it in the pod before.
- 6:30Speaker 2: So the State of the Union address, Look, if your
- 6:32Speaker 2: party's in power, it's you know, I joke, it's it's
- 6:36Speaker 2: like I actually was. I was sitting with Dave McCormick,
- 6:38Speaker 2: the New Center from Pennsylvania, who's you know, an our
- 6:41Speaker 2: Army veteran, and I said, all right, Dave, this is
- 6:43Speaker 2: gonna be like pt in the army, get ready for
- 6:46Speaker 2: Jane Fonda aerobics. You're gonna pop up and down and
- 6:49Speaker 2: up and down, and imagine the Trump the President's wearing
- 6:51Speaker 2: leg warmers, and you're just gonna be doing nothing but
- 6:54Speaker 2: every four words, standing up and applauding.
- 6:56Speaker 3: And that's what we did.
- 6:57Speaker 2: I got to say, you know, my my my thighs
- 6:59Speaker 2: are killing me from from from from just doing squats
- 7:03Speaker 2: all night.
- 7:04Speaker 1: But I want to see the stats, by the way,
- 7:06Speaker 1: on your R ring. I want to know what's the
- 7:09Speaker 1: what's the calorie burn during a state the longest stay
- 7:12Speaker 1: of the Union ever with Donald Trump speaking, Now, that's
- 7:14Speaker 1: real intel I need.
- 7:16Speaker 3: So I so, I don't know.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I could look at it in a second, And I
- 7:19Speaker 2: don't know if they count as steps because we're not moving.
- 7:21Speaker 3: We're just standing and sitting and standing in citting and
- 7:22Speaker 3: standing in city.
- 7:23Speaker 2: But what I like doing during the State of the
- 7:25Speaker 2: Union is watching the opposing party and picking out like
- 7:29Speaker 2: a couple of senators or House members and typically the
- 7:31Speaker 2: more moderate ones, and watching them agonize over what to
- 7:35Speaker 2: applaud or what to stand for it. In the past,
- 7:38Speaker 2: you know, i'd look at like a Joe mansion and
- 7:41Speaker 2: you know he he would be you know, America is great,
- 7:44Speaker 2: and you'd see a few Democrats applaud for that, even
- 7:47Speaker 2: stand we support the troops, and they'd kind of agonize, Oh, okay,
- 7:52Speaker 2: I guess I could support the troops. But then they'd
- 7:54Speaker 2: go back and forth. Tonight they stood for nothing. So
- 8:01Speaker 2: they stood that. They did not stand for Joscelyn Nungery's mother,
- 8:09Speaker 2: the twelve year old beautiful girl raped and murdered in
- 8:13Speaker 2: Texas by illegal immigrants. They would not stand for Alexis.
- 8:16Speaker 2: They did not stand for Lake and Riley's mother and sister.
- 8:21Speaker 2: They did not stand for a thirteen year old kid
- 8:26Speaker 2: surviving brain cancer. Like how do you not like Like, Okay,
- 8:31Speaker 2: I'm a crazy partisan who hates Trump, but okay, thirteen
- 8:34Speaker 2: year old kids surviving brain cancer wants to be a
- 8:36Speaker 2: cop like us. Like literally every single State of the
- 8:41Speaker 2: Union address that has been given from the beginning of time,
- 8:45Speaker 2: every person on the floor would have stood for the
- 8:48Speaker 2: thirteen year old kid or survive brain cancer. Zero Democrats stood.
- 8:53Speaker 2: I looked at them. They didn't still that.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I was an emotional in there because I was watching
- 8:58Speaker 1: it and I got choked up watching and there was
- 9:00Speaker 1: a lot of people that were texting me like, dude,
- 9:02Speaker 1: I'm crying right now because when you see a little
- 9:05Speaker 1: kid and how big his eyes got. You may not
- 9:08Speaker 1: have been able to see it from the floor because
- 9:09Speaker 1: they zoomed in, but when they said we're gonna make
- 9:13Speaker 1: you an agent, his eyes got so big. He clearly
- 9:17Speaker 1: didn't know what was going to happen. His dad didn't
- 9:19Speaker 1: know either, and it was just one of those get
- 9:22Speaker 1: a lump in your throat, choke up moments.
- 9:24Speaker 3: So I will say it was emotional, but it was true.
- 9:27Speaker 2: When you were in the chamber, we couldn't see the
- 9:30Speaker 2: kid's facial expressions.
- 9:31Speaker 3: It was just too far away that you couldn't see it.
- 9:33Speaker 2: So I saw his facial expressions for the first time
- 9:36Speaker 2: about a half hour ago when I did Hannity and
- 9:39Speaker 2: Sean played the close up and so I could see,
- 9:42Speaker 2: you know, I mean, I saw the kid and it
- 9:43Speaker 2: was beautiful and we were cheering and like when you
- 9:45Speaker 2: know Trump made him an honorary Secret Service agent.
- 9:48Speaker 3: That was really cool.
- 9:48Speaker 2: But you're right, the close up of his facial expressions
- 9:52Speaker 2: was was really powerful. And he's a Texan. DJ Daniel
- 9:56Speaker 2: is a Texan. You had Alexis Nungrie. It was a
- 9:58Speaker 2: Texan but it was amazing. Look, the Democrats did not stand.
- 10:04Speaker 1: Uh.
- 10:04Speaker 2: They didn't stand for cutting taxes. They didn't stand for
- 10:06Speaker 2: no taxes on tips.
- 10:08Speaker 3: Uh.
- 10:08Speaker 2: They didn't stand for automakers building new manufacturing plants in America.
- 10:14Speaker 2: They didn't stand for steel workers. That I mean, they
- 10:17Speaker 2: didn't stand for border patrol agents. It was they didn't
- 10:21Speaker 2: stand for a kid going to West Point whose father
- 10:27Speaker 2: was a police officer killed in the line of duty,
- 10:31Speaker 2: and the President admitted him to West Point stat in
- 10:34Speaker 2: the middle of the speech, which was a pretty amazing
- 10:35Speaker 2: moment too, Like I it was.
- 10:40Speaker 3: But but I will.
- 10:40Speaker 2: Say this is actually a There was one thing the
- 10:44Speaker 2: entire night they stood and clapped for.
- 10:46Speaker 3: You know what it was?
- 10:47Speaker 2: What was that they stood and clapped for giving hundreds
- 10:51Speaker 2: of billions of dollars to Ukraine.
- 10:53Speaker 3: There you go.
- 10:54Speaker 1: I knew there was a moment there and but the
- 10:56Speaker 1: pant when the feet I saw you could hear the
- 11:00Speaker 1: room get louder. But I wasn't sure if they were
- 11:02Speaker 1: standing for it. And so that was the moment.
- 11:05Speaker 2: So not everyone stood, but a number of them stood,
- 11:07Speaker 2: A number of them pulled out Ukrainian flags none of
- 11:10Speaker 2: them had American flags, but a number of them pulled
- 11:12Speaker 2: out Ukrainian flags, And I got to say, look, you
- 11:15Speaker 2: could have disagreements about the war on Ukraine, but what
- 11:18Speaker 2: the hell does it say about Democrats that they will
- 11:20Speaker 2: cheer for Ukraine but not for America.
- 11:23Speaker 1: You go back to what you said about those emotional moments.
- 11:26Speaker 1: There was also moments in there that were good for
- 11:29Speaker 1: the American people, Yes, and just policies. I mean, you
- 11:34Speaker 1: can't clap for tax cuts, you can't clap for a
- 11:37Speaker 1: secure border, which was something by the way they said
- 11:39Speaker 1: that they were in favor of. Remember when they were like,
- 11:41Speaker 1: well it's us that we're in favor of it. Us
- 11:44Speaker 1: still workers, they couldn't clap for. They couldn't quap for,
- 11:48Speaker 1: you know, the I go back to the West Point
- 11:50Speaker 1: for a moment. That was another emotional moment where you've
- 11:53Speaker 1: got a young man that's getting into West Point who
- 11:56Speaker 1: had a tragedy in his family life, and they wouldn't
- 11:58Speaker 1: stand for that. The capture of terrorists, by the way,
- 12:03Speaker 1: that one actually.
- 12:04Speaker 2: Was responsible for murdering service thirteen servicemen and women in Afghanistan.
- 12:08Speaker 2: Capturing the terrorists, and they're not happy to capture the
- 12:11Speaker 2: terrorist people.
- 12:12Speaker 3: Look, can we.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Play that clip because it's an important one. Just this
- 12:16Speaker 1: is what the President said. It's not hard to clap
- 12:19Speaker 1: for this or stand for this. It should be like
- 12:22Speaker 1: a universal everyone stand moment to.
- 12:24Speaker 4: The country tonight and please to announce that we have
- 12:28Speaker 4: just apprehended the top terrorists responsible for that atrocity, and
- 12:34Speaker 4: he is right now on his way here to face
- 12:36Speaker 4: the swift sword of American justice.
- 12:41Speaker 1: I mean that that was, by the way, breaking news
- 12:43Speaker 1: in n nine point nine percent of the people I'm
- 12:45Speaker 1: assuming in the room.
- 12:46Speaker 3: Sure to me, I didn't know that.
- 12:48Speaker 1: To you, okay, So I was wondering if you guys
- 12:49Speaker 1: knew that before, because it seemed like that everybody was
- 12:52Speaker 1: kind of caught off guard, like that was new to everyone.
- 12:55Speaker 1: And yet the president says it. You can hear half
- 12:57Speaker 1: the rumor up the other affic. No, no, no terrorists
- 13:00Speaker 1: that kills Americans that we're bringing back to America.
- 13:02Speaker 2: Nope, that's under Donald Trump. Can't and listen. I was
- 13:05Speaker 2: looking over at the Democrats and repeatedly turning to the
- 13:07Speaker 2: folks around me, just saying, what the hell is wrong
- 13:10Speaker 2: with these people? Look like it is? How do you
- 13:13Speaker 2: not cheer for that. And I think the answer is
- 13:17Speaker 2: they're so filled with hate. This is now the party
- 13:21Speaker 2: of hate and rage. And they hate Donald Trump. They
- 13:24Speaker 2: Haye Deal on Musk and and they're just and they
- 13:28Speaker 2: hate the voters that elected Donald Trump.
- 13:32Speaker 4: And so.
- 13:35Speaker 3: There always were points.
- 13:36Speaker 2: Listen in Democrats State of the Union addresses, there have
- 13:39Speaker 2: been a number of things that I applauded for. If
- 13:42Speaker 2: they say something that I agree with, I happily applaud
- 13:44Speaker 2: for if they, you know, anytime they talk about supporting
- 13:47Speaker 2: the troops, by the way, at a State of the Union.
- 13:49Speaker 2: So the Supreme Court never never applauds other than they
- 13:52Speaker 2: applaud at the beginning. So the Supreme Court applauds traditionally
- 13:55Speaker 2: at the President of the United States when he's introduced,
- 13:58Speaker 2: and that's typically the only thing they applaud for. The
- 14:02Speaker 2: Joint Chiefs, they usually do the same thing. They'll applaud
- 14:05Speaker 2: at the introduction of the President of the United States.
- 14:07Speaker 2: But I'll tell you the Joint Chiefs. They applauded at
- 14:10Speaker 2: the kid when he was admitted to West Point. And
- 14:12Speaker 2: it was I noticed that the General's applauding, and yet
- 14:15Speaker 2: not a Democrat would and I got to say, Ben,
- 14:18Speaker 2: there was a lot in this speech to applaud for.
- 14:21Speaker 2: As I said, I think this is the best speech
- 14:23Speaker 2: President Trump has ever given, and so I was happy
- 14:26Speaker 2: and enthusiastically applauding. Now, if you did not have two
- 14:30Speaker 2: hours to listen to the speech tonight, if you didn't
- 14:32Speaker 2: actually watch it, we've tried to help you out in
- 14:34Speaker 2: this podcast. So we have a montage where we've selected
- 14:38Speaker 2: some of the key moments of the speech. And it's
- 14:40Speaker 2: a little over three minutes, so it's not very long.
- 14:43Speaker 2: So if you didn't have two hours, here's three minutes
- 14:46Speaker 2: that sums up the best moments from President Trump's State
- 14:49Speaker 2: of the Union address tonight.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I returned to.
- 14:53Speaker 4: This chamber tonight to report that America's momentum is back,
- 14:58Speaker 4: our spirit is back, prior is back, our confidence is back,
- 15:03Speaker 4: and the American dream is surging bigger and better than
- 15:07Speaker 4: ever before.
- 15:08Speaker 3: How we have ended.
- 15:09Speaker 4: Weaponized government where as an example, a sitting president is
- 15:13Speaker 4: allowed to viciously prosecute his political opponent like me.
- 15:20Speaker 3: How did that work out?
- 15:22Speaker 4: Not to go? Not Within hours of taking the oath
- 15:26Speaker 4: of office, I declared a national emergency on our southern
- 15:30Speaker 4: border and I deployed the US military and border patrol
- 15:34Speaker 4: to repel the invasion of our country, and what a
- 15:39Speaker 4: job they've done. As a result, illegal border crossings last
- 15:43Speaker 4: month were by far the lowest ever recorded ever. To
- 15:51Speaker 4: unshackle our economy, I have directed that for every one
- 15:57Speaker 4: new regulation, ten old relations must be eliminated, just like
- 16:02Speaker 4: I did in my very successful first day, and I
- 16:06Speaker 4: have stopped all government censorship and brought back free speech
- 16:11Speaker 4: in America.
- 16:12Speaker 3: It's back.
- 16:15Speaker 4: We've ended the tyranny of so called diversity, equity, and
- 16:19Speaker 4: inclusion policies all across the entire federal government, and indeed
- 16:25Speaker 4: the private sector and our military and our country will
- 16:34Speaker 4: be worked no longer. I also signed an executive order
- 16:40Speaker 4: to ban men from playing in women's sports, and in
- 16:46Speaker 4: the near future, I want to do what has not
- 16:50Speaker 4: been done in twenty four years, balance the federal budget.
- 16:54Speaker 1: We're going to balance it.
- 16:58Speaker 4: One point three million people from ages one hundred and
- 17:01Speaker 4: fifty to one hundred and fifty nine and over one
- 17:05Speaker 4: hundred and thirty thousand people according to the Social Security databases.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Our age over one hundred.
- 17:15Speaker 4: And sixty years old. We have a healthier country than
- 17:20Speaker 4: I thought bobbying, including to finish one thousand and thirty
- 17:41Speaker 4: nine people between the ages of two hundred and twenty
- 17:43Speaker 4: and two hundred and twenty nine, one person between the
- 17:47Speaker 4: age of two hundred and forty and two hundred and
- 17:49Speaker 4: forty nine, and one person is listed at three hundred
- 17:53Speaker 4: and sixty years of age, more than one hundred years,
- 17:59Speaker 4: more than one hundred years older than our country. But
- 18:06Speaker 4: we're going to find out where that money's going, and
- 18:09Speaker 4: it's not going to be pretty.
- 18:13Speaker 1: I mean this speech to go back to what you
- 18:16Speaker 1: said at the beginning. Number one, it did not feel long,
- 18:20Speaker 1: and there's an art when you're speech writing that you
- 18:24Speaker 1: want to be done before people are ready for you
- 18:27Speaker 1: to be done. Yeah, this speech did not seem long.
- 18:30Speaker 1: I want to know what it felt like when you
- 18:32Speaker 1: were in the chamber. Number one. But two, like the
- 18:37Speaker 1: President came in and just brought the heat, and I
- 18:40Speaker 1: think the American people are going to respond to this.
- 18:43Speaker 2: So look, I thought it was a terrific speech. As
- 18:45Speaker 2: I said, it was optimistic, it was positive, it was
- 18:47Speaker 2: focused on results, the results that the President has been
- 18:50Speaker 2: producing and Republicans have been producing in just over forty days.
- 18:55Speaker 2: I mean, I mean it really is incredible. It was
- 18:58Speaker 2: also a funny speech like that, that whole litany going
- 19:01Speaker 2: through that the people on social Security, over one hundred
- 19:04Speaker 2: and twenty and over two hundred.
- 19:05Speaker 3: Years and over three hundred years old.
- 19:08Speaker 2: Every line of it was funny. He had a whole
- 19:11Speaker 2: litany he went through Doge and the wasteful spending. That
- 19:16Speaker 2: was just hysterical. And by the way, we're cracking up laughing.
- 19:22Speaker 2: All the Republicans, no Democrat laughed like even on the
- 19:24Speaker 2: funny lines as he goes through. They support every bit
- 19:28Speaker 2: of waste possible. And just across the board. Now in
- 19:33Speaker 2: terms of the length, so this was the longest State
- 19:35Speaker 2: of the Union in history. And I'll tell you so,
- 19:38Speaker 2: I was sitting I was sitting with Tommy Tubberville from Alabama.
- 19:43Speaker 2: I was sitting with Josh Holly from Missouri, and I
- 19:45Speaker 2: was sitting with Dave McCormick from Pennsylvania.
- 19:47Speaker 1: So how does that work? How do you decide you
- 19:50Speaker 1: sit with it? Is it just happened organically or you
- 19:52Speaker 1: guys now hang out?
- 19:54Speaker 2: No, no, no, you just kind of we all all
- 19:56Speaker 2: the senators gather on the Senate floor and then we
- 19:59Speaker 2: walk from the Senate floor over the House floor across
- 20:02Speaker 2: the Capitol, and we walk in together, and the House
- 20:06Speaker 2: saves the front seats for the Senate, and so they
- 20:09Speaker 2: actually give give the best seats to the Senate, which
- 20:11Speaker 2: is nice, nice of the House to do. And so
- 20:13Speaker 2: there are a whole bunch of seats I presume one
- 20:16Speaker 2: hundred seats that are kept in the front, and they
- 20:19Speaker 2: have little placards on the seats that say reserved for
- 20:22Speaker 2: a senator. But other than leadership like John Thune and
- 20:28Speaker 2: the elected leadership, they have seats that are reserved specifically
- 20:31Speaker 2: for them. But for everyone else, it's just senator, and
- 20:34Speaker 2: you can sit wherever you want. And so just as
- 20:36Speaker 2: you walk in, you take the open seats. So it's
- 20:38Speaker 2: a little bit happenstance. But as we were preparing, we
- 20:44Speaker 2: actually had a friendly wager.
- 20:47Speaker 3: On how long the speech was going to go.
- 20:49Speaker 2: So I bet that it was going to go ninety
- 20:54Speaker 2: three minutes, So an hour and thirty three minutes. Josh Holly,
- 20:58Speaker 2: who was sitting next to me, bet it was going
- 21:00Speaker 2: to go an hour and thirty seven minutes.
- 21:03Speaker 1: Okay, just plan a little bit of prices.
- 21:05Speaker 3: Right, little price is right.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Tommy Tubberville and and Uh, Dave McCormick both bet an
- 21:12Speaker 2: hour and forty minutes, so we were all in the
- 21:16Speaker 2: same neighborhood. And actually the one who won was Holly
- 21:19Speaker 2: So so it was in fact an hour and thirty
- 21:21Speaker 2: eight minutes. So I was five minutes off, but Josh
- 21:24Speaker 2: was only one minute off, and if he'd got another minute,
- 21:27Speaker 2: McCormick and Tubberville would have won. But but but it
- 21:30Speaker 2: was so it was interesting that that that those were
- 21:33Speaker 2: the four of our.
- 21:34Speaker 1: How did you guys picked that number? By the way,
- 21:35Speaker 1: it was it did you see enough beforehand or excerpts
- 21:39Speaker 1: or themes you know, or original gut.
- 21:42Speaker 3: We had not seen a text of it at all.
- 21:44Speaker 2: It's just knowing Donald Trump and having been the State
- 21:47Speaker 2: of the Union addresses before. Look, I mean, we knew
- 21:50Speaker 2: it was going to be about an hour and a half,
- 21:52Speaker 2: maybe a little bit more, and.
- 21:53Speaker 3: So that uh uh, we we knew he had a
- 21:56Speaker 3: lot to say.
- 21:57Speaker 2: It was not going to be a short speech, and
- 21:59Speaker 2: and uh, but it didn't feel long, You're right, I
- 22:01Speaker 2: mean it was there was storytelling in it. It was funny,
- 22:04Speaker 2: it was relating powerful moments. And then as I said,
- 22:08Speaker 2: the antics of the Democrats really look including sadly Al Green,
- 22:14Speaker 2: congressman from from your in my hometown Houston, who stood
- 22:19Speaker 2: up and just made a complete ass of himself.
- 22:21Speaker 1: And I was going to ask you on that one,
- 22:23Speaker 1: because it played on TV like it was very clearly
- 22:28Speaker 1: pre planned and for mere they don't know him. This
- 22:31Speaker 1: is the guy that he's now called for turning to
- 22:33Speaker 1: impeach a third time. He led impeachment first second, that's
- 22:36Speaker 1: like his thing, and so as soon as the president's elected,
- 22:39Speaker 1: it's like, oh, yeah, yeah, we got impeach this guy,
- 22:41Speaker 1: and we're going to call for impeachment. It played on
- 22:44Speaker 1: TV like it was one hundred percent pre planned by
- 22:47Speaker 1: him to do that, or maybe even Democratic Party. I
- 22:49Speaker 1: don't know if they were involved with this is just
- 22:51Speaker 1: his own brainchild. What was it like being there though?
- 22:55Speaker 2: So look, I think everyone was shocked, shocked and not chocked.
- 22:59Speaker 2: We expected the Democrats to misbehave and engage in antics.
- 23:04Speaker 2: I didn't expect that they would refuse to applaud for anything,
- 23:07Speaker 2: and I've never seen There have been a couple of
- 23:10Speaker 2: instances where House members have have called out like like,
- 23:15Speaker 2: have you know Joe Wilson famously said said when Obamacare,
- 23:19Speaker 2: said when Obama said, I think it was on Obamacare.
- 23:23Speaker 2: If you want your health in church, you can keep it.
- 23:25Speaker 2: And Joe Wilson famously called out, you lie. And that
- 23:29Speaker 2: was a big deal that that one congressman called out
- 23:31Speaker 2: two words was a big deal that people still talk
- 23:34Speaker 2: about a decade later.
- 23:36Speaker 1: So, by the way, the media totally freaked out the
- 23:38Speaker 1: entire night afterwards, like I can't believe they do this.
- 23:41Speaker 1: He shouldn't be in Congress, she resign, I mean, And
- 23:43Speaker 1: then tonight nothing from the mainstream media on this one.
- 23:47Speaker 2: And look, he stood up, he interrupted the speech. And
- 23:51Speaker 2: by the way, I don't know, could you hear what
- 23:53Speaker 2: he was saying. I know we could not.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Just I thought it very interesting that it looked like
- 23:59Speaker 1: Speaker Johnson ready in cases happened because he looked down
- 24:02Speaker 1: to read the words he was reading about the rules.
- 24:05Speaker 2: So what he was saying, it's interesting what he got
- 24:08Speaker 2: mad at. He got mad when Trump said I've got
- 24:12Speaker 2: a mandate from the election, and Al Green stood up
- 24:15Speaker 2: and he was yelling, saying, you don't have a mandate,
- 24:17Speaker 2: you do not have a mandate, and it was the
- 24:21Speaker 2: Democrats are in absolute denial. They're in denial that the
- 24:25Speaker 2: election happened. Look, the facts are straightforward.
- 24:28Speaker 3: Trump.
- 24:29Speaker 2: Of the seven swing states, he won all seven. He
- 24:33Speaker 2: won the popular vote in this country, something that Republicans
- 24:36Speaker 2: haven't done for twenty years. He won a Republican House
- 24:40Speaker 2: and a Republican Senate. Any way you look at it,
- 24:43Speaker 2: that's a mandate. And yet that's what al Green was
- 24:46Speaker 2: screaming about. And he kept on screaming and interrupting the president.
- 24:49Speaker 2: The president finally had to stop. I mean, he was
- 24:51Speaker 2: standing right in the middle and just screaming and trying
- 24:54Speaker 2: to yell over the President, and the Speaker gaveled him
- 24:58Speaker 2: down and said, listen, if you don't maintain decorum, the
- 25:02Speaker 2: sergeant at arms will remove you. And al Green kept
- 25:04Speaker 2: on yelling, and so the sergeant at arms removed him.
- 25:08Speaker 2: Uh and and by the way, the Speaker said tonight
- 25:10Speaker 2: on Hannity that al Green is likely going to be
- 25:14Speaker 2: censured by the House of Representatives, which which I think
- 25:17Speaker 2: is unsurprising because if you if you disturb an official
- 25:22Speaker 2: proceeding like that, that's that's the natural remedy.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Senator I want to go back to one other point
- 25:28Speaker 1: that that we mentioned earlier, but I think it's important
- 25:31Speaker 1: to kind of expand on it. And it was a
- 25:34Speaker 1: shocking moment of just either completely out of touch or
- 25:39Speaker 1: this Democratic Party, I guess you could just say, is
- 25:43Speaker 1: in a sense just completely lost. You had not a
- 25:46Speaker 1: single Democrat appod Peyton McNabb, who suffered brain damage after
- 25:52Speaker 1: a volleyball spiked by a trans person, a man that
- 25:57Speaker 1: acting like a woman, ended her hopes of a cop career.
- 26:00Speaker 1: That's how significant the injury was, and it made her retire,
- 26:06Speaker 1: and also it took potentially like a scout, changed her
- 26:10Speaker 1: life forever, and they couldn't even clap for her.
- 26:14Speaker 3: No, not a Democrat clapped for not one.
- 26:17Speaker 2: And by the way, just this past week, every single
- 26:20Speaker 2: Democrat in the Senate voted against protecting girls from boys
- 26:26Speaker 2: competing in sports, every one of them. And you know,
- 26:29Speaker 2: in the campaign listen, in my reelection campaign, Colin all
- 26:34Speaker 2: Read claims, I don't support boys playing in girl sports. Well,
- 26:37Speaker 2: every Senate and except the fact that he voted for it,
- 26:40Speaker 2: over and over and over again. Every single Senate Democrat
- 26:43Speaker 2: when they're on reelection campaigns, they tell the voters I
- 26:45Speaker 2: don't support boys and girls sports, and yet every single
- 26:49Speaker 2: one of them just voted for it, and not a
- 26:51Speaker 2: one of them applauded. I mean, it's the simple reality
- 26:54Speaker 2: of how extreme their party is.
- 26:57Speaker 3: Now.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I will tell you one thing that that was particularly
- 27:01Speaker 2: meaningful to me was all the Texans whom President Trump
- 27:06Speaker 2: honored a night, including Alexis Nungary, the mom of Joscelyn.
- 27:11Speaker 1: Now.
- 27:11Speaker 2: Alexis was going to be my guest tonight. Every senator
- 27:13Speaker 2: gets one guest, and I had invited Alexis. She was
- 27:16Speaker 2: coming up as my guest, and then the President invited her.
- 27:19Speaker 2: So she went and she was sitting with Malania Trump.
- 27:24Speaker 2: I was really grateful for the for her being invited
- 27:28Speaker 2: by the President to come there. And then right next
- 27:31Speaker 2: to Malania Trump was Elliston Barry. And Elliston Berry is
- 27:35Speaker 2: someone also another Texan who was the inspiration for the
- 27:39Speaker 2: Take It Down Act. So, Elliston Barry is a fifteen
- 27:41Speaker 2: year old girl from North Texas from Aledo who when
- 27:45Speaker 2: she was fourteen and a freshman in high school, a boy,
- 27:49Speaker 2: a classmate of hers, took an innocent social media picture
- 27:53Speaker 2: of her and used artificial intelligence to create a deep
- 27:58Speaker 2: fake kid image of her that appeared to be real
- 28:02Speaker 2: but it was fake, and then sent it to her
- 28:04Speaker 2: class bates and she was the inspiration for my legislation
- 28:08Speaker 2: to Take It Down Act, which which passed the Senate unanimously.
- 28:13Speaker 1: And by the way, how many times have you been
- 28:16Speaker 1: involved in legislation that was passed unanimously in your in
- 28:18Speaker 1: your career in the Senate.
- 28:20Speaker 3: A lot of times.
- 28:22Speaker 2: I've passed one hundred and one different pieces of legislation
- 28:25Speaker 2: into law. A number of them were unanimous the Senate
- 28:28Speaker 2: off And if you do the work, you can bring
- 28:30Speaker 2: people together and pass something. And actually, just yesterday, the
- 28:35Speaker 2: first Lady, Milania Trump came to the Capitol first time
- 28:38Speaker 2: she has this first lady the second term, supporting the
- 28:41Speaker 2: Take It Down Act, and we did a round table,
- 28:43Speaker 2: which we're we're gonna talk about significantly more on Friday's pod,
- 28:46Speaker 2: but we did a round table where Milania Trump heard
- 28:49Speaker 2: from Elliston Berry, heard from other victims of non consensual
- 28:53Speaker 2: intimate images, and called on the House to pass the
- 28:56Speaker 2: Take It Down Act. And President Trump tonight called in
- 28:59Speaker 2: the House past the day to Take It Down Act.
- 29:01Speaker 2: So I was really glad. The two people directly next
- 29:04Speaker 2: to to Blania Trump to her left were two Texans,
- 29:09Speaker 2: Elliston Berry and Alexis Nungary and and that made me
- 29:12Speaker 2: very happy.
- 29:14Speaker 1: That may have been one of the best parts of
- 29:15Speaker 1: the night. Let's talk about what this looks like moving forward.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I think the President's speech is going to play very
- 29:22Speaker 1: well with the American people. I think it's going to
- 29:25Speaker 1: help with momentum moving forward. I also do think that
- 29:28Speaker 1: the American people and the way they were watching this
- 29:31Speaker 1: on TV, saw the the shocking moments when they wouldn't
- 29:37Speaker 1: stand for children that were, you know, murdered by illegal immigrants,
- 29:40Speaker 1: their families, police officers, dyeing in the lie of doooney duty.
- 29:44Speaker 1: It was on the list. I mean, you look at
- 29:47Speaker 1: all of this, bringing an American hostit home from Russia,
- 29:50Speaker 1: by the way, they wuldn't stand for that. That was
- 29:52Speaker 1: another moment we left at earlier. Were you shocked by
- 29:55Speaker 1: that as well?
- 29:56Speaker 3: Well?
- 29:57Speaker 2: And you and I covered Mark Fogel coming back. We
- 29:59Speaker 2: covered that on the podcast when it happened. That was
- 30:05Speaker 2: one of the multiple times I turned to the folks
- 30:07Speaker 2: around me and I'm like, what the hell is wrong
- 30:09Speaker 2: with these people, Like, like, how do you not this
- 30:13Speaker 2: is not partisan? This is not I get that they
- 30:16Speaker 2: don't cheer for, you know, conservative ideas because they're all
- 30:20Speaker 2: wacko lefties. But how do you not cheer for things
- 30:24Speaker 2: that are just unambiguously good. And it's today's Democrat party,
- 30:29Speaker 2: it's a commodation. They become the party of hate and
- 30:32Speaker 2: rage and they're in denial. They don't know how to
- 30:36Speaker 2: respond to this election other than to fume and glare.
- 30:41Speaker 2: And I got to say, if you're an elected Democrat,
- 30:45Speaker 2: how do you think this is a good message to
- 30:48Speaker 2: the American people? We hate everyone and everything that's the
- 30:52Speaker 2: Democrats like.
- 30:53Speaker 3: I don't get that.
- 30:55Speaker 1: No, I don't either. So what happens now?
- 30:57Speaker 3: This is my prediction.
- 30:59Speaker 1: I think the presence proval rating is going to stay
- 31:02Speaker 1: solid and in certain categories, support on certain issues will
- 31:07Speaker 1: actually rise coming out of this State of the Union.
- 31:10Speaker 1: I think this is going to continue the momentum on
- 31:12Speaker 1: on things like Doge and even in some of the
- 31:16Speaker 1: issues that we're talking about that are in tough ones,
- 31:19Speaker 1: whether it's dealing with Mexico and cartels or tariffs or
- 31:22Speaker 1: Canada and fetanol. The list goes on and on. I
- 31:25Speaker 1: think same thing on Ukraine funding. I think this could
- 31:29Speaker 1: catapult him to even greater near term success. That's a
- 31:34Speaker 1: lot of political capital that obviously you want your prediction.
- 31:39Speaker 3: Look, I agree with you.
- 31:41Speaker 2: I think the American people are going to be happy
- 31:43Speaker 2: with this speech. They're going to be happy with the results.
- 31:46Speaker 2: The American people are happy with successes for America. And
- 31:49Speaker 2: we're getting on the border, seeing illegal immigrations and illegal
- 31:53Speaker 2: boarding crossings drop over ninety percent. That's an unambiguous victory.
- 31:58Speaker 2: On energy, Seeing energy production going up, seeing regulations being repealed,
- 32:04Speaker 2: seeing wasteful spending being eliminated, those are unambiguous victories. In
- 32:08Speaker 2: terms of jobs, he went through the investments, the investments
- 32:11Speaker 2: on new investments, whether from Oracle or Apple, or car
- 32:16Speaker 2: companies bringing new factories here. Those are big wins. Those
- 32:20Speaker 2: are the sorts of things. Those are the sorts of things. Frankly,
- 32:23Speaker 2: when Joe Biden talked about if he you know, he
- 32:25Speaker 2: had Democrats and their speeches would talk about a new factory,
- 32:28Speaker 2: and you know what, the Republicans would all stand and cheer, because, hey,
- 32:31Speaker 2: a new factory in America is a good thing, and
- 32:33Speaker 2: we even if we don't support many, if not most,
- 32:38Speaker 2: of Biden and Obama's policies, we cheer for the American people.
- 32:43Speaker 2: I think that the President's message was really strong, but
- 32:47Speaker 2: I also think the contrast with the Democrats made it
- 32:50Speaker 2: even stronger.
- 32:51Speaker 3: And so.
- 32:53Speaker 2: I think this was a good night for America, but
- 32:57Speaker 2: not a good night for today's Democrat party.
- 33:00Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 33:00Speaker 1: Great point. It's always fun to get to do a
