- 0:39Speaker 3: coming out of California. So how did he get away
- 0:41Speaker 3: with this team for so long? And was it as
- 0:43Speaker 3: simple as Democrats just look the other way? We have
- 0:46Speaker 3: the details. Also, Democrats are now seeking to undo a
- 0:51Speaker 3: Trump tough strategy on green card policy. This could close
- 0:56Speaker 3: a loophole that hundreds of thousands are using. So why
- 0:59Speaker 3: are the Democrats doing this right now? Putting illegals ahead
- 1:02Speaker 3: of Americans. We'll have those details as well. Now, before

- 2:08Speaker 3: a loving heavenly father today at Compassion dot com. That's
- 2:14Speaker 3: Compassion dot com. It's a forty seven morning update and
- 2:18Speaker 3: it starts right now.
- 2:19Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 2:20Speaker 3: We're gonna start with a very interesting story. Federal agents
- 2:24Speaker 3: arresting a Newport Beach, California businessman. It was happening all
- 2:29Speaker 3: during a pre dawn raid at his not home but
- 2:32Speaker 3: mansion on Wednesday, and they charged him with legally supplying
- 2:36Speaker 3: US origin computer hardware directly to Tehran and what was
- 2:42Speaker 3: it being used for in military and nuclear operations that
- 2:47Speaker 3: according to federal prosecutors. Jamsheed Gomi is a sixty three
- 2:51Speaker 3: year old and a dual citizen of Iran and the
- 2:54Speaker 3: United States. He was taken into custody during the FBI raid.
- 2:58Speaker 3: The New York Post has also reported now he's been
- 3:01Speaker 3: charged with conspiracy to violate the International Emergency Economy Powers
- 3:06Speaker 3: Act and is expected to make his initial appearance Wednesday
- 3:09Speaker 3: afternoon in federal court in Santa Ana, California. Prosecutors are
- 3:14Speaker 3: alleging that the man not only sold computer hardware to
- 3:17Speaker 3: the Iranian government through a year long scheme designed to
- 3:21Speaker 3: evade US sanctions, earning millions of dollars in the process.
- 3:26Speaker 3: Gmi is accused of aiding are declared enemies by selling
- 3:31Speaker 3: US origin computer networking parts to Iran and earning millions
- 3:34Speaker 3: of dollars in violation of US sanctioned laws. That's what
- 3:38Speaker 3: the US attorney said in his statement, we will hold
- 3:41Speaker 3: him accountable by seeking an appropriate prison sentence and by
- 3:44Speaker 3: seizing his assets, including his thirty five million dollar Newport
- 3:49Speaker 3: Beach mansion. Now, dozens of federal agents and tactical gear
- 3:54Speaker 3: gathered before dawn at a nearby parking lot before traveling
- 3:58Speaker 3: in a convoy to the resident. Located within an exclusive
- 4:02Speaker 3: gated community. Agents surrounded the property and called for Gomy
- 4:05Speaker 3: to come outside. What's going on? When occupant of the
- 4:09Speaker 3: home asked, as agents escorted Gomy's wife and two adult
- 4:13Speaker 3: sons outside as well. Investigators carrying power tools and evidence
- 4:17Speaker 3: boxes entered the residents, while an interpreter arrived to interview Gomy.
- 4:22Speaker 3: After the interview, Gomy emerged from the home and was
- 4:25Speaker 3: taken into custody. Now, in addition to the sanctions related charges,
- 4:29Speaker 3: authorities said they are investigating Gomy for possible money laundering,
- 4:34Speaker 3: tax evasion, and other offenses. According to prosecutors, Gom generated
- 4:38Speaker 3: more than ten million annually through his computer business, while
- 4:42Speaker 3: reporting no more than twenty thousand in income to the
- 4:46Speaker 3: Internal Revenue Service. Federal investigators alleged that for more than
- 4:50Speaker 3: a decade, Gomy used a Tehran based computer networking company
- 4:55Speaker 3: he found it to obtain US networking equipment for customers
- 4:59Speaker 3: in Iran and violation of the US sanctions. Authorities say
- 5:03Speaker 3: Gomi arranged shipments of more than two hundred and fifty
- 5:06Speaker 3: tons of controlled US technology and used his personal eBay
- 5:12Speaker 3: and PayPal accounts to make hundreds of additional purchases of
- 5:16Speaker 3: computer networking equipment that was ultimately shipped directly to Iran.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Prosecutors also say negotiated purchases directly with suppliers in Minnesota
- 5:25Speaker 3: and Nebraska, routing equipment at a front company in the
- 5:30Speaker 3: UAE before it was sent on to Iran. Authorities also
- 5:33Speaker 3: led to use freight forwarders and intermediaries in Dubai to
- 5:37Speaker 3: conceal Iran as the final destination, knowing that he was
- 5:41Speaker 3: breaking the law. According to the prosecutors, Gomi and his
- 5:44Speaker 3: co conspirators referred to Iran as the motherland in internal
- 5:48Speaker 3: communications related to the procurement of the equipment. The technology
- 5:53Speaker 3: allegedly supplied by Gomi was distributed to hundreds of Iranian
- 5:57Speaker 3: companies and government entities, many of which were already subject
- 6:00Speaker 3: to US sanctions. Prosecutors said a portion of the equipment
- 6:04Speaker 3: was supplied to organized connected individuals and Iran's nuclear in
- 6:09Speaker 3: military programs as well, and that may be the most
- 6:12Speaker 3: shocking part of all. Gomi's most prominent asset was his
- 6:17Speaker 3: more than fourteen thousand square foot mansion. It was situated
- 6:21Speaker 3: on a bluff overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The property featured
- 6:24Speaker 3: iron gates, multiple chandeliers, and dual fountains at the entrance
- 6:29Speaker 3: to impress anyone that decided to come visit, The prosecutor said.
- 6:33Speaker 3: The arrests demonstrated the federal government's commitment to enforcing sanctions
- 6:38Speaker 3: as the United States continues military operations against Iran, And
- 6:42Speaker 3: there is a question that you should be asking, how
- 6:44Speaker 3: did this guy get away with this for so long?
- 6:46Speaker 3: What'll be clear, the prior administration, the Biden administration, they
- 6:50Speaker 3: didn't lift the sanctions on Iran. They just deliberately chose
- 6:53Speaker 3: not to enforce the sanctions, allowing people like Gomi to
- 6:56Speaker 3: do exactly what he was doing. They literally looked the
- 6:59Speaker 3: other way, hoping that appeasement with Iran would work, and
- 7:02Speaker 3: that meant saying, oh, no, no, no, we have sanctions
- 7:05Speaker 3: on Iran, but do they matter if you're not enforcing them.
- 7:08Speaker 3: We now know quote that our nation's laws prohibit doing
- 7:11Speaker 3: business with one of the world's largest state sponsors of terrorism,
- 7:15Speaker 3: and it must be enforced and obeyed. Again, another example
- 7:19Speaker 3: of the Trump administration actually abiding by the laws while
- 7:22Speaker 3: the radical left does everything they can to help these
- 7:25Speaker 3: individuals continue to do business in the United States of America.
- 7:29Speaker 3: It truly is amazing that this individual was not caught sooner.
- 7:33Speaker 3: If it wasn't for the Trump administration, he'd probably still
- 7:36Speaker 3: be doing business right now.
- 7:38Speaker 2: Next story number two, another.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Big story that I think is really important that we
- 7:42Speaker 3: also highlight right now is one that is connected very
- 7:45Speaker 3: much to the story I mentioned about the individual from Iran,
- 7:48Speaker 3: and that is Democrats now are seeking to undo Donald
- 7:53Speaker 3: Trump's tough new policy on Green card holders. Democrats on
- 7:58Speaker 3: Capitol Hill say they're going to move to overturn the
- 8:01Speaker 3: president's immigration policy changes now Trump's second term. He said,
- 8:06Speaker 3: I'm going to have a new rule that could require
- 8:08Speaker 3: many Green card applicants already living legally in the United
- 8:12Speaker 3: States to leave the country and complete their applications from abroad.
- 8:16Speaker 3: That according to report by The Hill, and multiple national
- 8:19Speaker 3: outlets have also confirmed the details. Now the Democrats are
- 8:24Speaker 3: losing their minds, saying the policy could affect hundreds of
- 8:26Speaker 3: thousands of immigrants currently working, studying, and raising families in
- 8:30Speaker 3: the United States of America now. For decades, many legal
- 8:33Speaker 3: immigrants have been able to apply for permanent residency through
- 8:36Speaker 3: a process known as adjustment of status, allowing them to
- 8:40Speaker 3: remain in the US while their green card applications were reviewed.
- 8:44Speaker 3: But the Trump administration said this has become a massive loophole,
- 8:48Speaker 3: and the new guidance dramatically changes that process. Under the policy,
- 8:52Speaker 3: the applicants could now be required to return to their
- 8:54Speaker 3: home countries and complete the process through a US consulate
- 8:58Speaker 3: unless they can demonstrate what the administration calls extraordinary circumstances. Now,
- 9:04Speaker 3: the administration argues this isn't a new law, but rather
- 9:07Speaker 3: return to the original intent of immigration status. Homeland Security
- 9:11Speaker 3: officials say the temporary visas were never intended to become
- 9:15Speaker 3: an automatic pathway to permanent residency, and that the new
- 9:19Speaker 3: rules will make the immigration system more orderly and also efficient.
- 9:24Speaker 3: The administration is also indicated that expectations may be available
- 9:29Speaker 3: for individuals who provide a significant economic benefit or serve
- 9:34Speaker 3: the national interests. Well, democrats, you know what they're going
- 9:37Speaker 3: to do stand up for those that aren't American citizens
- 9:40Speaker 3: before they stand up for American citizens every single time
- 9:44Speaker 3: they can do it, and that's exactly what they're doing now.
- 9:48Speaker 3: They're calling this move by the Trump administration disruptive and
- 9:52Speaker 3: harmful and hurtful, and they argue it could separate families,
- 9:55Speaker 3: disrupt careers, create uncertainty for employers, and force legal immigrants,
- 10:00Speaker 3: and to link the overseas processing backlogs that can stretch
- 10:04Speaker 3: for months or even years again making sure they put
- 10:07Speaker 3: those from outside of America ahead of you. Now, immigration
- 10:11Speaker 3: advocates are also warning that this will be a disaster,
- 10:14Speaker 3: but again, look at the open border process and what
- 10:16Speaker 3: we've actually had in this country. Now, the debate now
- 10:19Speaker 3: centers on a larger question what should legal immigration look
- 10:23Speaker 3: like in America. Supporters of President Trump who voted for him,
- 10:27Speaker 3: said it was very clear they wanted to shut down
- 10:29Speaker 3: the borders, They wanted an orderly program, and they wanted
- 10:32Speaker 3: to get illegal immigrants out of this country. They wanted
- 10:35Speaker 3: to stop rewarding people who were coming into this country
- 10:37Speaker 3: illegally with government benefits as well. And the Trump policy
- 10:41Speaker 3: says the administration is simply enforcing the immigration laws that
- 10:45Speaker 3: are already on the books and closing these loopholes that
- 10:49Speaker 3: encourage temporary visitors to remain permanently. Now Democrats say no,
- 10:55Speaker 3: we are going to go back to what we had
- 10:57Speaker 3: before that allowed for massive immigration into this Democrats are
- 11:01Speaker 3: now pushing this as a election your issue, and they're
- 11:05Speaker 3: also saying they're going to have legal challenges to block
- 11:08Speaker 3: the policy as well. Now the outcome could determine literally
- 11:11Speaker 3: how hundreds of thousands of future green card applicants navigate
- 11:15Speaker 3: the path to permanent residency in the United States of America.
- 11:19Speaker 3: And once again the Democratic Party making it clear we
- 11:22Speaker 3: stand for legal immigrants and those from outside the United
- 11:26Speaker 3: States of America before we stand up for Americans and
- 11:30Speaker 3: what Americans want and or believe on the issue. And
- 11:34Speaker 3: that's exactly why this is going to be a major
- 11:36Speaker 3: election your issue.
