Transcript
- 0:00Hey guys, welcome back to the Lila Rose podcast.
- 0:02All right, today we're doing something different.
- 0:04I am talking about how I plan to vote on November 5th on Election
- 0:09Day. I have been very critical of
- 0:11Kamala Harris and her extreme pro abortion platform.
- 0:14As you guys know, I have also been critical of many of the pro
- 0:17abortion positions that President Trump has taken,
- 0:21especially in the last few months.
- 0:23We have done many episodes on this.
- 0:25We've also wrestled with the question of how to vote when
- 0:27both candidates support abortion to varying degrees.
- 0:30What does that mean for the Pearly voter?
- 0:32And so after a lot of prayer and thought and wrestling with this
- 0:35for weeks, and I will say hoping and praying that President Trump
- 0:39particularly would change course on this because he has indicated
- 0:42some movement in the past. So I've been hoping, you know,
- 0:44we're up until really the final hour here, that he would change.
- 0:47And there have been some concessions, which we're going
- 0:50to talk about here and I'm going to share.
- 0:51This is an essay that I have published to X and to social
- 0:54media. And I wanted to share that essay
- 0:56with you guys now. The essay is titled, What's a
- 0:58pro-life voter to do? I have publicly opposed both
- 1:02Donald Trump and Kamala Harris's positions on abortion over the
- 1:05last few months. I have been asked repeatedly
- 1:07over the last few days by media allies and friends who I will be
- 1:11voting for on November 5th, or if I'm planning to just sit it
- 1:14out. This essay explains the thought
- 1:16process behind both my public opposition to the candidates
- 1:20positions, the difference between their positions, and my
- 1:24vote. For many, including myself, the
- 1:28single most important issue to consider when deciding who to
- 1:32vote for is the candidate's position on basic human rights,
- 1:37particularly the right to life. Human life is sacred and every
- 1:42human possesses the right to life starting in the womb.
- 1:47Abortion, the intentional destruction of a pre born child,
- 1:52is the leading cause of death in America, killing 3000 children
- 1:57daily. When both of the two main
- 2:00political parties have hostile anti life policies, what is a
- 2:06pro-life voter supposed to do? Let's start with Kamala Harris's
- 2:09positions and why I believe no pro-life voter should cast their
- 2:14vote for her. As Attorney General of
- 2:17California, Kamala Harris selectively prosecuted pro-life
- 2:21journalists who exposed Planned Parenthood selling baby body
- 2:25parts, which is a federal crime. At the time, Kamala Harris was
- 2:30also accepting money for her then Senate campaign from
- 2:35Planned Parenthood. Harris also used her power as
- 2:38Attorney general to attempt to force pro-life Pregnancy Center
- 2:43nonprofits to post abortion advertisements in their clinics.
- 2:48Harris has said that if she were president, she would pass
- 2:51federal legislation codifying Roe V.
- 2:53Wade, which would legalize abortion on demand without
- 2:57restriction through all nine months of pregnancy.
- 3:00This would supersede all life saving laws at the state level.
- 3:05Kamala Harris opposes conscience protections for healthcare
- 3:08professionals, meaning she wood forest if she had the power and
- 3:12the ability she wood forest healthcare professionals and
- 3:15hospitals to commit abortions, else lose their ability to
- 3:19practice medicine. Disturbingly, Harris has made
- 3:22unfettered support for abortion a central tenet for her entire
- 3:27presidential campaign. She's also been the first
- 3:30candidate for U.S. President to tour an abortion
- 3:33clinic as a publicity stunt. Harris's campaign has also
- 3:36spread massive amounts of misinformation about abortion,
- 3:40claiming that miscarriage treatments are being banned in
- 3:43pro-life states they're not, and blaming abortion related deaths
- 3:47like Amber Thurman, who took the abortion pill on pro-life loss.
- 3:52The recurring message in nearly every interview and speech that
- 3:55Kamala Harris gives centers on her unflinching support for
- 3:59abortion, and this is only intensified as her campaign has
- 4:02gone on. If fascism is the alignment of
- 4:05all power to the state, Kamala Harris is a model abortion
- 4:10fascist. Paris's campaign is the most pro
- 4:13abortion campaign in American history.
- 4:16She not only stands against the rights of pre born children, but
- 4:19she actively works to thwart the rights of pro-life Americans,
- 4:23including conservatives and Christians, to advocate for
- 4:25these children. Let's talk about the Republican
- 4:28side. For over 40 years, the
- 4:30Republican Party platform included the right to life.
- 4:33But in an apparent effort to court swing voters and so-called
- 4:36moderates, President Trump's allies gutted the Republican
- 4:40Party platform on life and marriage.
- 4:42What his campaign has chosen instead is a path that
- 4:46prioritizes supposed political convenience over fundamental
- 4:50human rights. Several weeks ago, JD Vance said
- 4:53that he and Trump support access to abortion pills, which account
- 4:57for 60% of all abortions. Nearly 2000 children a day are
- 5:01killed by abortion pills, and one out of every 25 women who
- 5:05use abortion pills will end up in the hospital with
- 5:07complications caused by them. They are dangerous for women and
- 5:11deadly for the children that they kill.
- 5:14Trump has also announced his support for taxpayer funded IVF.
- 5:17In addition to being incredibly expensive, anywhere from 30,000
- 5:21to $60,000 per live birth, IVF is incredibly risky for women.
- 5:26And for every IVF created human embryo that survives to the
- 5:29point he or she can be implanted, many of his or her
- 5:33embryonic siblings are callously discarded for their perceived
- 5:36imperfections. Of the human embryos that do
- 5:40survive this harvesting, millions end up indefinitely
- 5:43frozen, dozen suspended in a cruel limbo, waiting to either
- 5:47become convenient enough to be given the chance to live and
- 5:50grow or to die. Like their many siblings, IVF
- 5:54commodifies children, turning them into property to be
- 5:57created, used or destroyed at will.
- 5:59Trump and Vans have also expressed support for abortion
- 6:02exceptions for rape and incest, and oppose a national abortion
- 6:05ban. They say that abortion should be
- 6:07an issue left to the States, and Trump has criticized and
- 6:10undermined pro-life state laws, such as Florida's heartbeat law.
- 6:14Trump and Vance may believe that these positions are politically
- 6:16more expedient. I've had many people tell me,
- 6:19Lila, they're just trying to win an election.
- 6:21But there is no middle ground when it comes to life.
- 6:24Every child, no matter how he or she is conceived, has a right to
- 6:28be given a chance at life. And they don't have a voice, but
- 6:31we do. Every abortion intends to end
- 6:34the life of a child. Either there is a right to life
- 6:37or there isn't. Abortion is not a states rights
- 6:40issue. Abortion is a human rights issue
- 6:43and it is already unconstitutional under the 14th
- 6:47amendment, which declares that no state shall deprive any
- 6:51person of life, liberty, or property without due process to
- 6:57his permanent credit. Trump historically appointed 3
- 7:01of the Supreme Court justices who helped overturn Roe V.
- 7:04Wade, the poorly decided Supreme Court decision that legalized
- 7:08portion on demand nationally. The overturn of Roe was a
- 7:11tremendous milestone for the pro-life movement, but over
- 7:14ruling Roe is only meaningful if laws are passed that protect
- 7:19preborn children at all stages of development.
- 7:22For Trump to oppose many of these pro-life laws when it was
- 7:25his judicial appointments that paved the way for them is a
- 7:29tragedy and a massively wasted opportunity.
- 7:33As you guys know, I have repeatedly voiced opposition to
- 7:37the recent changes in the Republican platform and in the
- 7:39positions taken by Trump and Vance, urging them to change
- 7:43course. Two months ago, after JD Vance
- 7:45first announced on national television that he and Trump
- 7:48supported access for abortion pills and that Trump would veto
- 7:51a national abortion ban, I publicly stated if you don't
- 7:55stand for pro-life principles, you don't get pro-life votes.
- 7:59I helped lead a mounting pressure campaign against the
- 8:02Trump campaign to urge them to change course.
- 8:04At the time, I also had the opportunity to meet privately
- 8:07with President Trump. He was generous with his time,
- 8:10and we spoke for two hours on my disagreements with him on
- 8:13abortion. Some progress was made when
- 8:16enough pro-life allies expressed outrage and threatened to
- 8:19withhold their votes. Trump reversed his position on
- 8:22Amendment 4, which would legalize abortion through all
- 8:25nine months in his home state of Florida, and he expressed his
- 8:28opposition to it of it. Here is the reality.
- 8:32Kamala Harris's policies and record on abortion are
- 8:35objectively worse than Trump's. If Trump does not win on
- 8:39November 5th, it will be Kamala Harris who will assume the
- 8:43presidency. We are at the final hour.
- 8:46I will be voting for Donald Trump on November 5th.
- 8:49The prospect of what Kamala Harris may do in the next 4
- 8:52years as president is worse than what Trump has said he would do
- 8:56and could be worse than the negative influence that Trump
- 8:59may have long term on the Republican Party if he wins this
- 9:03election. I think it is essential that for
- 9:06those who choose to vote for Trump in order to stave off the
- 9:09evils that the Harris administration brings, that they
- 9:12voice their opposition to any anti life policies that Trump
- 9:16may support. I am deeply concerned for the
- 9:19future of the Republican Party which looks increasingly like
- 9:23the Democrat Party on life and marriage.
- 9:25When both parties go increasingly towards anti life,
- 9:29anti marriage positions, where does that leave millions of
- 9:32Americans who stand for life and marriage?
- 9:35I have repeatedly said that Trump's new positions on
- 9:38abortion and IVF have discouraged pro-life voters.
- 9:42There will be many voters who choose the less pro abortion
- 9:45candidate like myself and vote for Donald Trump reluctantly
- 9:50over Kamala Harris. But there will also be voters
- 9:54who have become so discouraged by Trump's positions that they
- 9:58may decide to sit this election out.
- 10:00I urge Republicans to think big picture about this and restore
- 10:05life to their platform and advocacy.
- 10:07If they don't, the Republican Party will not be able to depend
- 10:11on social conservatives and Christians for their votes in
- 10:14the future. Enthusiasm will fade and voter
- 10:17turn out will suffer even more than it does today.
- 10:20I urge the Democrat Party to change as well and to reject the
- 10:24pro abortion influence that has a stranglehold on its future.
- 10:28In addition, for voters in 10 states the election, there are
- 10:31also abortion amendments on their state ballots.
- 10:34So as we celebrate the fall of the Roe regime, we must also
- 10:37turn our attention to protecting life at the state level.
- 10:41It is crucial for voters to reject these abortion
- 10:44amendments. In particular, I want to urge
- 10:47those in Missouri to vote no on Amendment 3, which would
- 10:51legalize abortion up until birth.
- 10:54It is possible to win in Missouri vote no on Amendment 3,
- 10:58and for my friends in Florida, vote no on Amendment 4 which
- 11:02would legalize abortion up until the moment of birth.
- 11:05Live action victory. A new 5O1C4 that I founded has a
- 11:10full voting guide for state initiatives.
- 11:12It is LinkedIn the description. I encourage everyone to read
- 11:15this guide and to vote to protect children's lives.
- 11:18We must continue our fight to secure the respect for human
- 11:21life in both political parties and across our culture.
- 11:26The protection of our children cannot be negotiable.
- 11:29America's future depends on leaders who protect its most
- 11:32vulnerable. Also, I will be doing a live
- 11:36YouTube event on Monday with people like Father Mike Schmitz,
- 11:40Al Mahler, Bishop Burbidge, Lisa Bevere, and many other friends
- 11:44and allies. We will be praying together for
- 11:47mercy on this country and for God's conversion in our hearts
- 11:50and across the nation. Please join me for prayer on
- 11:54Monday, November 4th and keep your eye on the channel and on
- 11:57the Live Action channel for updates to join this live prayer
- 12:01event. Thank you guys so much for
- 12:03listening as I share my thoughts.
- 12:04I know this is highly controversial.
- 12:07I know that there are a lot of opinions and beliefs and
- 12:10concerns about this and I want to urge you on November 5th to
- 12:14go out and vote your conscience and to vote for life.
- 12:17Thank you guys so much. God bless you guys and we'll see
- 12:20you next time.
