- 0:17Speaker 1: and not good Steve to Steve, I don't joint turn.
- 1:24Speaker 1: You got to turn to turn the mout turn, got
- 1:44Speaker 1: to turn the out turn the water the water come
- 1:58Speaker 1: come on your things, Uh huh, I sure will. A
- 2:04Speaker 1: good morning everybody. Y'all listening to the voice, Come on
- 2:07Speaker 1: dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got a
- 2:10Speaker 1: radio show. Okay, Okay, here's what I want to share
- 2:21Speaker 1: with you. Stop complaining. So I had to let you
- 2:30Speaker 1: see how I let that one sit for a second.
- 2:33Speaker 1: Stop complaining. Do you realize without us even thinking about it,
- 2:43Speaker 1: oftentimes we just complain about stuff and it comes up
- 2:51Speaker 1: in such subtle forms. Man, I don't know why they're
- 2:55Speaker 1: still letting that lady work there. Man, if they don't
- 2:57Speaker 1: fire this woman, Man, I don't know what I'm gonna do.
- 2:59Speaker 1: Shoot your me crazy. She always got something to say.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I bet to day though, the way I'm feeling right now,
- 3:11Speaker 1: I bet she'd been not saying nothing to me today.
- 3:14Speaker 1: M yeah, yeah, because day it today it I'm sick
- 3:19Speaker 1: of her running her mouth. Last time she said something
- 3:24Speaker 1: to me, I should have said something to it. You
- 3:26Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I'm just giving you a small
- 3:29Speaker 1: example of how it starts to snowball once you start
- 3:35Speaker 1: to complain. It's it just carries over into so many things. Man,
- 3:40Speaker 1: Stop complaining about your call, Stop complaining about your bus pass,
- 3:45Speaker 1: Stop complaining about your kids can't seem to get it together.
- 3:49Speaker 1: Stop complaining about your man can't seem to get it together.
- 3:52Speaker 1: Stop complaining. Stop Have you noticed? I'm just asking have
- 3:59Speaker 1: you notice that in all of your complaining, it has
- 4:04Speaker 1: provided not one solution. The reason I'm telling you to
- 4:10Speaker 1: stop complaining because God is able, Because God is capable.
- 4:18Speaker 1: He is capable and able of fixing anything, capable and
- 4:25Speaker 1: able of curing anything, capable and able of allowing you
- 4:32Speaker 1: to get to adjusting to things, and capable and able
- 4:40Speaker 1: to strengthen you to get through and change anything. But
- 4:47Speaker 1: the key here is God is capable, and God is able.
- 4:52Speaker 1: A lot of times I find myself complaining because I
- 4:56Speaker 1: have not used my greatest asset, and that's my relationship
- 5:01Speaker 1: with God. You all have one now. You may not
- 5:04Speaker 1: have nurtured it, but you have one because God created
- 5:07Speaker 1: you as his child. He's available to you. Now. The
- 5:11Speaker 1: fact that you ain't went to him. Okay, once again,
- 5:14Speaker 1: who fathers that? Stop complaining Until you strengthen your relationship
- 5:21Speaker 1: with God and formulate this relationship. You don't have enough weapons.
- 5:30Speaker 1: You ain't got a big enough shield to fight this
- 5:33Speaker 1: thing called life. It just keeps coming. Man, And unless
- 5:38Speaker 1: you develop a relationship with God, you need a partner
- 5:40Speaker 1: in all of this. Maybe you got another route you're
- 5:44Speaker 1: gonna take. But every successful person I know personally has
- 5:52Speaker 1: a relationship with God. I have some really really some
- 6:00Speaker 1: people that's kind of up there in the success term
- 6:03Speaker 1: in terms of business and money and statute. I'm just
- 6:07Speaker 1: talking about that portion of success. And then I have
- 6:10Speaker 1: a lot of people who are very successful in the
- 6:13Speaker 1: in their spiritual life, who have become great men of
- 6:16Speaker 1: God and women of God. But look at all of them,
- 6:21Speaker 1: and all of them have substantial amounts of you know,
- 6:27Speaker 1: possessions and things like that. Also, most successful people I
- 6:31Speaker 1: know have that even if you saw them never with
- 6:36Speaker 1: a big lot of house and a lot of money
- 6:38Speaker 1: or stuff like that, they had so much respect, so
- 6:42Speaker 1: much love, so much power was given them from people
- 6:50Speaker 1: that their life was rich in that area, you know,
- 6:54Speaker 1: like a man Nu the King or something like that,
- 6:56Speaker 1: or Gandhi or somebody who lived their life in nervous
- 7:00Speaker 1: or Nelson Mandela who came out and just man, people
- 7:03Speaker 1: put stuff at their feet because of their service. So
- 7:06Speaker 1: all successful people I know have that. Every last one
- 7:09Speaker 1: of these people that I know, they have relationship with God.
- 7:15Speaker 1: They used the tool that was available to them to
- 7:18Speaker 1: give them the strength, the bullets, the arrows, the slings,
- 7:23Speaker 1: the shield to fight this thing called life and have
- 7:26Speaker 1: the most valuable partner right there by their side. They
- 7:29Speaker 1: heavily father God because he will help you get through
- 7:31Speaker 1: this thing called life. Man, stop complaining all the time.
- 7:34Speaker 1: It's not fixing anything. Why don't you do yourself a
- 7:38Speaker 1: favor and strengthen your relationship with God? Man? Why can
- 7:41Speaker 1: I never get over? Well you have not because you
- 7:44Speaker 1: asked not. Man? How come I always got problems? Well,
- 7:47Speaker 1: you keep trying to solve them yourself and taking them
- 7:50Speaker 1: to your friends. You keep trying to do them with
- 7:52Speaker 1: your own thought process. Who are you? I keep telling you, man,
- 7:56Speaker 1: you're going through stuff you ain't got no business going through.
- 8:01Speaker 1: And if it's you going through something over and over
- 8:04Speaker 1: and over and over, and the same problem keep coming
- 8:06Speaker 1: back to bite you again. All that's saying is you
- 8:10Speaker 1: still ain't strengthen your relationship with God. It's your relationship.
- 8:14Speaker 1: He's not gonna make you have one with him. He
- 8:17Speaker 1: is a perfect gentleman. He only comes into your life
- 8:20Speaker 1: when you invite him in. But for those who do
- 8:25Speaker 1: invite him, men, they have a distinct advantage on their
- 8:29Speaker 1: road to success, a distinct advantage. You can do it
- 8:33Speaker 1: without him. Trust me, you can. How far you get.
- 8:37Speaker 1: I can't promise you nothing, how well you handle it
- 8:40Speaker 1: when you arrived there, I can't promise you nothing. How
- 8:44Speaker 1: long you're gonna stay there, I can't promise you nothing.
- 8:48Speaker 1: How difficult it's going to be without him. I can't
- 8:52Speaker 1: give you that. It's going to be far more difficult.
- 8:55Speaker 1: But you can. Something can happen, and you know, receive
- 8:58Speaker 1: a measure of success and thinks you and this move
- 9:02Speaker 1: you made, and you can describe it as I got lucky.
- 9:04Speaker 1: I happened to be in the right place at the
- 9:07Speaker 1: right time. I got lucky. Lucky is usually how other
- 9:11Speaker 1: people describe other people's success. Poor he was lucky, he
- 9:15Speaker 1: was right there. Well, let me tell you what lucky is.
- 9:17Speaker 1: Luck's when hard work bumps up into opportunity. If you've
- 9:22Speaker 1: been working hard as something, an opportunity presents itself that
- 9:25Speaker 1: comes a match. That's not luck. But now, if you
- 9:29Speaker 1: haven't done that on a repetitive enough basis, that opportunity
- 9:34Speaker 1: could present itself one time. You got to reconnect. Stop complaining, man,
- 9:40Speaker 1: come on, listen to me. Stop complaining. It hasn't fixed
- 9:42Speaker 1: a single thing in your life. And if you're a
- 9:45Speaker 1: chronic complainer, it's because you really really have not fixed
- 9:48Speaker 1: your relationship with God. He'll smove it out for you.
- 9:51Speaker 1: That I can tell you for a fact. I know
- 9:53Speaker 1: that for a fact he's moved mine out. All right,
- 9:56Speaker 1: let's go. You're listening show top top. Wake Up, wake up,
- 10:10Speaker 1: wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up. This is
- 10:13Speaker 1: your wake up call. This is the Steve Harvey Morning Show,
- 10:16Speaker 1: wake up call, Rising Shine, give yourself that stretch, that
- 10:20Speaker 1: boning yawn and sit on the edge of the bed.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Thank the man. And then you got to get up,
- 10:25Speaker 1: get out and get something. It is the nephew holding
- 10:28Speaker 1: it down today along with the beautiful ladies that would
- 10:30Speaker 1: be Caller Ferrell, Mississipip Monica and the one and only
- 10:35Speaker 1: the hot voice of Radio, Shirley Strawberry. Yeah. And then
- 10:39Speaker 1: there is the junior favorite favorite play Cousin Killa Junior
- 10:45Speaker 1: Boy Fates. We are in the building. We are holding
- 10:47Speaker 1: it down, and we are bringing the ignorant, the stupid,
- 10:49Speaker 1: and then the ladies will bring the beauty and then
- 10:53Speaker 1: kind of give it a little bit more balance of
- 10:54Speaker 1: what we need from two ignorant people at the same time.
- 10:57Speaker 1: We're gonna do that. Yes, yes, And before I go
- 11:01Speaker 1: in and father, I just want to say, did you
- 11:03Speaker 1: see that one hundred Friday Night? Did you see that
- 11:06Speaker 1: one hundred one, one hundred episodes? Once again, I'm ready

- 12:16Speaker 1: let me get to work. That was awesome. It really was.

- 12:59Speaker 1: I didn't know. I didn't not I did not know
- 13:00Speaker 1: we've even reached a hundred. I did not know anything really,
- 13:04Speaker 1: But I mean, you know that topped with everything that
- 13:07Speaker 1: you went through while you were making the show last year, Tommy,
- 13:11Speaker 1: I mean, what a blessing on top of a blessing,
- 13:15Speaker 1: you know, you're one hundredth episode. You went through everything.

- 13:31Speaker 1: that man, if she would not have been there, I
- 13:34Speaker 1: just I couldn't have made it through. That isn't my rock,
- 13:37Speaker 1: my rock, my rock, my rock. Oh yeah, that's that
- 13:43Speaker 1: is beautiful. Well, coming up with thirty two minutes after
- 13:46Speaker 1: the hour, we're gonna hear more from the nephew as
- 13:48Speaker 1: he runs that prank back. Right after this you're listening show,
- 13:54Speaker 1: it is time now to start your morning off with

- 14:02Speaker 1: run that prank back? What you got, I'm gonna dig
- 14:05Speaker 1: off into this bag of stupid right here for a minute, Sharon,
- 14:09Speaker 1: let me see, let me gather myself. All right, here
- 14:14Speaker 1: we go. Can you fix my roof? Can you fix
- 14:22Speaker 1: my roof? It is very insulting. And then it is
- 14:25Speaker 1: wrong to call a Spanish person and ask them can
- 14:30Speaker 1: you fix my roof? It's just wrong. It's just wrong.
- 14:34Speaker 1: You gonna play. But in order to prank, you gotta
- 14:38Speaker 1: be wrong. You gotta be wrong. You can't. It's no
- 14:42Speaker 1: right prank. It's just ampousible all right, right, I don't

- 15:45Speaker 1: my number? Man? I mean, where do you think I'm

- 16:21Speaker 1: think you could call? Me? Because I think of all
- 16:24Speaker 1: Mexican fixed roofs and listen here, I'm not a roofer.
- 16:28Speaker 1: I work at a bank. Okay, you understand that. I

- 17:02Speaker 1: from you. Man, I'm like I said, I got a
- 17:05Speaker 1: leak in my room and somebody gave me your number.
- 17:07Speaker 1: I thought all Hispanic people knew how to fix rooms.
- 17:10Speaker 1: Oh really, maybe if I don't cut your classic, if
- 17:14Speaker 1: you're in the scale type of up, huh would that

- 17:29Speaker 1: come over in and fix the leak. You know what
- 17:31Speaker 1: I'm saying, that's that's really all I wanted to do it.
- 17:33Speaker 1: I heard you know that most Hispanic people, you know,
- 17:36Speaker 1: all of y'all supposed to know how to do a route.
- 17:38Speaker 1: I mean, are you are you kidding me? Man? You stupid?

- 17:53Speaker 1: myself like just talking to you. I don't do kyle,
- 17:56Speaker 1: I don't do construction. I don't fix rules. I'm not
- 17:59Speaker 1: a cannon. I don't do yards. Okay, do you steal?
- 18:05Speaker 1: There's nothing wrong with being a construction worker, for name,
- 18:07Speaker 1: brick or doing tile or doing roof, And there's nothing
- 18:11Speaker 1: wrong with that. Man. I got a lot of relatives.
- 18:12Speaker 1: I've done those jobs myself, but I educated myself. Now
- 18:16Speaker 1: I've got a degree, and I work at a bank
- 18:18Speaker 1: as a long office don't you with me? Don't you

- 28:04Speaker 1: You ain't got that, and build her little house out
- 28:06Speaker 1: back somewhere, night little house or something. Telling her mom
- 28:10Speaker 1: to build her daughter out her night little time to

- 28:36Speaker 1: stuff out the house. She liked, so she liked them TVs.
- 28:39Speaker 1: Take them TVs out of here. Get that couch she
- 28:41Speaker 1: liked to let the phone. Take that out. Get all
- 28:43Speaker 1: that table like. She liked to say to eat that.
- 28:45Speaker 1: Get rid of the table. Don't have no funch in
- 28:47Speaker 1: here with your come on, just boop everything out. Just
- 28:51Speaker 1: sit in that house within the dark. Don't pay the
- 28:54Speaker 1: light bell turning lights out in here. She can't get
- 28:56Speaker 1: your football nothing, just being here with me in the dark.
- 29:00Speaker 1: So long you can do out last. I got a job.
- 29:02Speaker 1: I'm going to work. Yeah, take all that stuff out it.

- 33:38Speaker 1: all the NAACP Image Award winners. In other in other
- 33:43Speaker 1: entertainment news, it's awards season, the Academy Awards. Yes, Rihanna
- 33:48Speaker 1: will be one of the performance Get your mind right,
- 33:51Speaker 1: She'll be one of the performers. She's gonna sing the
- 33:54Speaker 1: nominated song list to me. Uh, she's going she don't
- 34:02Speaker 1: sound like that, Just like that from Black Panther Reports
- 34:08Speaker 1: with Conda Forever the soundtrack. You can't have all these
- 34:11Speaker 1: people up in the AFP. All these you can't have
- 34:14Speaker 1: all that at the at the Oscars. It's not just
- 34:18Speaker 1: whatever whatever. Yeah, won't think everybody. I don't think everybody
- 34:22Speaker 1: got their rope on. I'll be worried. I'll be trying
- 34:24Speaker 1: to see if they got their rope on ABC and
- 34:31Speaker 1: the Academy. You know, they risk getting a flurry of complaints.
- 34:34Speaker 1: We acc heard from more than one hundred viewers of
- 34:37Speaker 1: Super Bowl fifty seven on Fox. They complained that Rihanna's
- 34:40Speaker 1: halftime performance was too sexual, the dancers too suggestives with
- 34:46Speaker 1: their hip thrust. I know, just anything to read to
- 34:49Speaker 1: get on Rihanna right now. Yeah, that's what I agree.
- 34:52Speaker 1: They were. Definitely did pat She did pattic one time,
- 34:56Speaker 1: she did yeah, yeah, and yeah and then put it up.
- 35:01Speaker 1: I saw that somebody probably named Karen that wrote to
- 35:05Speaker 1: the FCC you think about Rihanna's halftime show. Yeah, they
- 35:11Speaker 1: said children shouldn't be exposed to pornography as an adult.
- 35:14Speaker 1: I don't wish to see it. Where has decency gone?
- 35:18Speaker 1: This is all for Rihanna's performance. Yeah, okay, Karen, Yeah,
- 35:24Speaker 1: come on, yeah, yeah, we've seen worse for sure. Uh,
- 35:29Speaker 1: finally an entertainment news. Nick Cannon says he will let
- 35:33Speaker 1: God decide if he's done having children. Nick, of course,
- 35:36Speaker 1: his father twelve children. Today, he said, is up to
- 35:39Speaker 1: God to decide when he will stop. Nicka's forty two.
- 35:42Speaker 1: He welcome to child in December. Yeah, the lords, I guess,
- 35:50Speaker 1: but he's saying there may be more. He doesn't know.
- 35:53Speaker 1: It's God's decision. It's not off. Yeah, I think it's
- 36:01Speaker 1: up to protection. This is what this is up to.
- 36:03Speaker 1: That's not know what I got to do it. This
- 36:05Speaker 1: is up to protection. Coming coming up in twenty minutes
- 36:09Speaker 1: after the hour, the one hundredth episode of the hit
- 36:12Speaker 1: reality dating show Ready to Love. We'll talk about it
- 36:16Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to morning show. Congratulations yet
- 36:22Speaker 1: again to our very own nephew Tommy or Tommy Miles
- 36:26Speaker 1: as they call you, Unready to Love. Yes, you're one
- 36:31Speaker 1: hundredth episode of Ready to Love. It is a hit.
- 36:35Speaker 1: It is a hit, hands down. It's a hit. Um
- 36:40Speaker 1: reality dating show that we all love. We all love
- 36:44Speaker 1: the show on own network. Take a listen to Oprah
- 36:46Speaker 1: Winfrey's message to Will Packer and Tommy Miles when Will
- 36:50Speaker 1: Packer first came to me with an idea to help
- 36:53Speaker 1: grown black folk final love. I was more than a
- 36:56Speaker 1: little intrigued with all the dating shows on TMM. How
- 37:00Speaker 1: would people respond to a show that was about more
- 37:03Speaker 1: than just sex and skin, a show designed to help
- 37:06Speaker 1: singles find real love. Now, after one hundred episodes and
- 37:12Speaker 1: toughtless connections, I think the answer is pretty clear. We
- 37:16Speaker 1: all want to experience authentic love, whether it's in our
- 37:19Speaker 1: own lives or rooting for strangers on TV. We want
- 37:23Speaker 1: genuine connection. And so, as the show's original fan, I
- 37:27Speaker 1: wanted to say to you Will Packer, Tommy Miles, the
- 37:31Speaker 1: entire Lighthearted team, I want to thank you all for
- 37:35Speaker 1: a hundred, one hundred, yes, one hundred episodes of helping
- 37:40Speaker 1: grown folk fine love. Thank you, thank you, thank you,
- 37:44Speaker 1: thank you, thank you. Boy. You bet old that one.
- 37:52Speaker 1: What I'm telling you I don't know about in the world.
- 37:54Speaker 1: What upraid? Right? Oh my god? Your thoughts it's it's
- 38:02Speaker 1: you know, it's it's a milestone. Nothing, not something I
- 38:04Speaker 1: even put in my plans. I just, you know, just
- 38:08Speaker 1: was was blessed that Will Packer called me here so
- 38:10Speaker 1: many years ago and offered me a job I didn't
- 38:13Speaker 1: I didn't have to Um didn't have to audition for it,
- 38:17Speaker 1: you know, he said, you just you fit this very well.
- 38:20Speaker 1: And I didn't know what you know, even going through
- 38:22Speaker 1: the first season. I was like, oh my god, I
- 38:24Speaker 1: didn't know. That's what was great about the first season.
- 38:26Speaker 1: I didn't know what to expect, and they didn't know
- 38:28Speaker 1: what to expect. So it was new to all of us.
- 38:31Speaker 1: And uh to just to just be this much further
- 38:34Speaker 1: down the line to get one hundred here and we're
- 38:37Speaker 1: still rolling, getting ready to start Dallas. This this is
- 38:41Speaker 1: a blessing. Man. I don't take any of this for granted. Man.
- 38:43Speaker 1: I give this to God and all the glory because
- 38:45Speaker 1: this is this is um. This is what it means
- 38:48Speaker 1: when they say you're not in control. I I was
- 38:50Speaker 1: not in control. It just happened. This is and this
- 38:53Speaker 1: is just truly to me a blessing from God. That um.
- 38:55Speaker 1: And then I'm ready to go get another hundred, man,
- 38:58Speaker 1: because it's it's it's working. People are loving it and
- 39:01Speaker 1: and this opens right. You know, you are cheering for
- 39:03Speaker 1: people that you don't even know. You just when you're
- 39:06Speaker 1: sitting there on the couch watching and you'd be like,
- 39:07Speaker 1: oh my god, he needs to be with her, not
- 39:10Speaker 1: her and she need to him. You're trying to piece
- 39:13Speaker 1: it together yourself. You know. It's just a beautiful thing
- 39:16Speaker 1: to watch them fall yell at the TV. All right,
- 39:22Speaker 1: thank you, nep you, and congratulations again. We couldn't man
- 39:27Speaker 1: all right, Um. Coming up at thirty four minutes after
- 39:30Speaker 1: the hour today's roundtable discussion, there's a new study out
- 39:33Speaker 1: on what are the patterns that lead to cheating? We'll
- 39:37Speaker 1: talk about it right after this you're listening show. A
- 39:43Speaker 1: new study aimed to look at the causes and effects
- 39:46Speaker 1: of cheating in a relationship. Okay, that's what's out now,
- 39:49Speaker 1: because for decades, researchers have debated the question of if
- 39:53Speaker 1: cheating was a direct cause of relationship problems or is
- 39:58Speaker 1: it just a response to a problem already present in
- 40:01Speaker 1: the relationship. Okay, so you've got two things going on there.
- 40:05Speaker 1: Recent study in Germany released some new data. It said
- 40:09Speaker 1: infidelity maybe a consequence rather than a cause of relationship trouble.
- 40:17Speaker 1: And then it said data showed the relationship's well being
- 40:21Speaker 1: started to decline before infidelity happens. Then it said after
- 40:26Speaker 1: the cheating happens, both people in the relationship reported more
- 40:30Speaker 1: conflict and less satisfaction. Yeah. Yeah, So is it a response,
- 40:40Speaker 1: you guys think, or is it the cause? I think
- 40:43Speaker 1: it's I think it's a response. I think it's like
- 40:45Speaker 1: Germany said, Germany said, a consequence, right, m yeah, maybe
- 40:50Speaker 1: a consequence rather than I think it's I think it's
- 40:52Speaker 1: after so many things have going bad in the relationship.
- 40:55Speaker 1: I think people revert to that. That's what I think.
- 40:58Speaker 1: That's just timmy talking. Now, that's what that's the that's
- 41:01Speaker 1: the case study I've gathered hearing. Then you read a lot,
- 41:06Speaker 1: read a lot. This is my research. I think I
- 41:10Speaker 1: think most most let's let's let me just say men.
- 41:13Speaker 1: I think most men when they're not getting when they're
- 41:15Speaker 1: not happy at home, when they're not getting what they
- 41:18Speaker 1: you know what, I think some men are not getting
- 41:20Speaker 1: what what what they were getting at the beginning of
- 41:22Speaker 1: a relationship. And and you know what the old people say,
- 41:26Speaker 1: you know, whatever it took to get this man, that's
- 41:28Speaker 1: what it takes to keep this man. I think when
- 41:29Speaker 1: people don't have, when that doesn't stay consistent, then then
- 41:35Speaker 1: you know, mind wonders, your wonders over. Yeah, yeah, that's
- 41:45Speaker 1: that's that's that's how they're working on it. That's how
- 41:46Speaker 1: they're working on it, working on it by by working
- 41:49Speaker 1: on something else, that's how they're working on So okay,
- 41:52Speaker 1: Junior newly married. Well, yeah, that's not the study I had.
- 41:56Speaker 1: My research din't come back like that. My research came
- 41:59Speaker 1: back that I wanted out. That's what I think. It
- 42:03Speaker 1: can't right directly back to that, I just won't out.
- 42:06Speaker 1: You see me with somebody else, that's what clear saying.
- 42:08Speaker 1: I won't out. I don't I don't want to be
- 42:11Speaker 1: with you. That the research I came up with this
- 42:13Speaker 1: is he shows me. Have you ever heard the phrase
- 42:18Speaker 1: marriage takes work? Relationships take work? And it does. It does,
- 42:24Speaker 1: But you guys say you don't want to work on it,
- 42:26Speaker 1: you just want to leave or cheat. No, no, no, no, no,
- 42:30Speaker 1: I didn't say that. I told you what the case
- 42:32Speaker 1: study was. I told you. I ain't said nothing about
- 42:36Speaker 1: no damn timing. I said nothing like this. You're saying
- 42:40Speaker 1: that could be the cause of it. Yeah, that could
- 42:42Speaker 1: be the call. I'm happy when I man, I'm gonna
- 42:44Speaker 1: go good. We know that, we know that I left
- 42:47Speaker 1: all kinds of evidence I wanted out when she found them,
- 42:49Speaker 1: phone him in my pocket that's a sign right there.
- 42:51Speaker 1: I'm trying to get out. So you're gonna keep this
- 42:55Speaker 1: numb in your pocket like I gonna find out what
- 42:56Speaker 1: what was that phone? The fact that fact that you
- 43:00Speaker 1: had number's own paper is what's surprises for me. Yeah,
- 43:06Speaker 1: here was this. Oh this is like in ninety seven eight,
- 43:10Speaker 1: you know, want that's back back when you kept a
- 43:12Speaker 1: pin in your pocket. That's fine. I mean, you know,
- 43:17Speaker 1: I mean even with her, you know I got cheated on.
- 43:19Speaker 1: I saw her. What the dude? I knew then she
- 43:20Speaker 1: wanted out. I saw her and she would even let
- 43:23Speaker 1: his hand out when she saw me. She kept holding
- 43:25Speaker 1: me out. I knew she wanted out see me, and
- 43:30Speaker 1: still kept his hands Come on, now, let his hands out,
- 43:35Speaker 1: dropped his hand, na, you see me, let his hand down,
- 43:40Speaker 1: Just kept on walk. That's okay, okay, okay, on going out.
- 43:44Speaker 1: That's what this is. Back in college, I was so crushed.
- 43:47Speaker 1: I walked in on something. Oh man, what oh I
- 43:52Speaker 1: saw it. I saw it. Cheating on you, Yeah, man,
- 43:56Speaker 1: I saw it. He ran down the hall with his
- 43:59Speaker 1: clothes hand kid. What yes? Blown away? Yeah? Put that
- 44:08Speaker 1: in your head and that visual is still out of
- 44:10Speaker 1: this day. Better Yeah, because you've actually seen it. All right,
- 44:21Speaker 1: it's a lot yeah, all right. Coming up next, today's
- 44:27Speaker 1: frank phone call from the nephew who still traumatized after
- 44:30Speaker 1: all these years. Now we understand you a whole lot better.
- 44:33Speaker 1: That's frank phone call is coming up right after this
- 44:36Speaker 1: you're listening show coming up at the top of the hour,
- 44:42Speaker 1: right about four minutes after. It's my strawberry letter for today,
- 44:45Speaker 1: and the subject is get this subject. It's a player.
- 44:50Speaker 1: It's a player's ball every weekend. What he is? What? Wait?
- 44:59Speaker 1: Do you This letter is funny, but right now the
- 45:02Speaker 1: nephew is here with today's frank phone call. What you
- 45:05Speaker 1: got for us? Naff? Surely this is for all your
- 45:09Speaker 1: ladies out there. It's got the eyelashes that go pass
- 45:13Speaker 1: your nose, you know them, them long eyelash nose. Yeah, yeah,
- 45:18Speaker 1: I mean that. There's gotta be a limit to your thing.
- 45:21Speaker 1: There's a limit to these eyelashes. Some of y'all know better.
- 45:24Speaker 1: You know you can't see, but it's okay. But what
- 45:27Speaker 1: you ain't gonna do is put them lashes on my wife.
- 45:30Speaker 1: That's what you're not gonna do. He can't come he
- 45:35Speaker 1: can't come home, and can't see me. Call he can't
- 45:38Speaker 1: see me. Just don't make no sense. Okay, Well, this
- 45:43Speaker 1: right here is called lashing out. Lashing out cat dog,
- 45:49Speaker 1: if you would, Hey, it's clashing out. How can we
- 45:52Speaker 1: lash you out? I'm trying to reach Bianca is Hey, listen.
- 45:58Speaker 1: My name is Brian, my um, my wife Jamie. Come
- 46:00Speaker 1: up there and get out eyelashes done? Is uh? Who
- 46:03Speaker 1: who's the owner of this place? I am Brian. What's
- 46:07Speaker 1: going on? Okay? Going on? You you're Bona? Are you
- 46:10Speaker 1: the one that own the place? I'm Bianca. I'm the owner.
- 46:13Speaker 1: We opened about a year and a half ago. Proud, happy,
- 46:17Speaker 1: black owned, women owned, woman owned establishment. What can I
- 46:20Speaker 1: do for you? Here's the deal. I'm sick and tired
- 46:24Speaker 1: of my wife coming up there and then when she
- 46:26Speaker 1: get back home, she got these thick eyelashes on and
- 46:30Speaker 1: they long as hell, you know, I mean, it's these
- 46:33Speaker 1: ere lashes thicking on somebody's mustash. This is a damn shame,
- 46:36Speaker 1: you know not, and told her to take this hold up. Brian. Now,
- 46:41Speaker 1: I may or may not be the person doing it,
- 46:43Speaker 1: But whoever, I'm pretty sure probably that sounds familiar. But whoever,
- 46:48Speaker 1: we have a lot of customers. But whoever comes in here,
- 46:50Speaker 1: they picked their lashes. We we you know, we collaborate.
- 46:53Speaker 1: But the girls are saying what they want done. They
- 46:56Speaker 1: pick it. So if they're thick, they're thick because they
- 46:59Speaker 1: want them okay too they too thick, and then and
- 47:03Speaker 1: they too long. Your our ladges ain't supposed to be
- 47:06Speaker 1: sticking away. I pass your nose. That's a damn shame.
- 47:09Speaker 1: But let me let me tell you what I'm getting
- 47:10Speaker 1: at though. Here's here's here's my reason for calling. If
- 47:13Speaker 1: my wife come home one moti say what can you
- 47:17Speaker 1: send her down? Because I mean, I'm running a business
- 47:20Speaker 1: here and you sound crazy. They can steer you through
- 47:23Speaker 1: the phone. The girl. They're looking at me in the chair.
- 47:26Speaker 1: I don't know what's going on. I don't know. Can
- 47:28Speaker 1: you calm down? You're loud and screaming. All I'm saying is,
- 47:32Speaker 1: if my wife come home with the long thick as
- 47:35Speaker 1: our lads is again, I'm gonna come up there and
- 47:37Speaker 1: raise holy hell at that damn place. I'm telling you
- 47:39Speaker 1: the truth about that. You know, what are you talking about?
- 47:42Speaker 1: What are you threatening me? You are not coming up here.
- 47:45Speaker 1: I'm coming up there. You my wife coming home with
- 47:47Speaker 1: them thick as long as our ladges. Again, I am no,
- 47:51Speaker 1: you're not coming up here. We just opened a year
- 47:53Speaker 1: half ago. We are doing this. We don't need no
- 47:56Speaker 1: drama for nobody. You need to talk to your wife,
- 47:58Speaker 1: fix your marriage, don't come up taking up. Ain't nothing
- 48:01Speaker 1: wrong with my marriage. The only thing wrong with my
- 48:03Speaker 1: marriage is the damn thinking as I landed and they
- 48:06Speaker 1: too long? That's the why are you? Why are you
- 48:08Speaker 1: calling me with this? See now, I'm yell. I'm calling
- 48:11Speaker 1: because this is where she got her eyelash is done.
- 48:14Speaker 1: Oh my god, Oh my god. Didn't you need to
- 48:17Speaker 1: talk to your wife? Okay, I need to calm down.
- 48:20Speaker 1: I'm running a business here. What you're trying to do
- 48:22Speaker 1: sabotazing me? What you work for? The car ain't trying
- 48:24Speaker 1: to sabotage numb. But I tell you what if she
- 48:26Speaker 1: come home with the long thinking as I last again,
- 48:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna come up there and I'm gonna find all
- 48:30Speaker 1: the violating and coldes and everything building colds and I
- 48:33Speaker 1: will get you shut down if we if we don't
- 48:35Speaker 1: stop these long thinking as I last. Okay, Brian, I'm
- 48:40Speaker 1: from the south Side, so you need to back up,
- 48:43Speaker 1: because now you're threatening my livelieshood. Yes, I'm gonna go
- 48:47Speaker 1: there with you. You're threatening my livelihood, You're threatening the
- 48:50Speaker 1: jobs of so many girls here. What are you doing?
- 48:53Speaker 1: You need to talk to your wife and need to
- 48:55Speaker 1: back the fie up. And I am sorry to courage.
- 48:57Speaker 1: We try to speak class here, but now you're making
- 49:00Speaker 1: me lash out at from lash out. But you need
- 49:04Speaker 1: to back up. This is my job and people have jobs.
- 49:08Speaker 1: What are you going threatening to come up here? All
- 49:11Speaker 1: the cops on you, and you will not be able
- 49:12Speaker 1: to come here, and we will not let yours get
- 49:15Speaker 1: her her eyelashes on you. And you need to fix
- 49:17Speaker 1: your marriage because you got some anger issues. Clearly you
- 49:20Speaker 1: pissed off at your wife and you're calling us threatening
- 49:22Speaker 1: to ruin our business. Ryan, What is your wife's name?
- 49:26Speaker 1: What my wife name is? My wife name is Jamie? Okay,
- 49:29Speaker 1: because anybody is here, no Jamie or do Jamie's lashes? Okay.
- 49:34Speaker 1: It's like four girls raising their hand because everybody goes
- 49:38Speaker 1: to somebody different, so I don't know who it is
- 49:41Speaker 1: does Jamie lashes? But you got some anger issues, okay.
- 49:45Speaker 1: I ain't got no anger issue. The only problem I
- 49:47Speaker 1: got is my wife having some long, thick eyelashes and
- 49:50Speaker 1: they further out thank her nose and thinking into somebody's
- 49:53Speaker 1: much there. That's what I got a problem with. Okay,
- 49:56Speaker 1: you know what, Jamie just needs to leave your because
- 49:59Speaker 1: if you got an you call her. Why are you
- 50:01Speaker 1: calling us people? They put Why wouldn't I call the
- 50:05Speaker 1: people that put the thick lances on? Why wouldn't I? Well,
- 50:09Speaker 1: first of all, you need to talk to Jamie and
- 50:12Speaker 1: send her up here. We're gonna tell her that to
- 50:14Speaker 1: leave your first of all, thinking of all, I don't
- 50:17Speaker 1: I can I help you? You are interrupting my grinding. Okay,
- 50:22Speaker 1: we are interrupting our grinding, and we got a business
- 50:25Speaker 1: going here. What is your problem? Can't you go do
- 50:28Speaker 1: some work, go and talk to your wife and seek
- 50:30Speaker 1: your marriage? You know what? You know what you I'll
- 50:34Speaker 1: tell you what. I'll tell you what. You're not trying
- 50:36Speaker 1: to fix. No, no, no, you're trying to fix the problem.
- 50:38Speaker 1: I'll be up there. I'll be up there and I
- 50:41Speaker 1: will bring somebody that will shut that boy. Call the
- 50:44Speaker 1: car right now, call them down. Tell them somebody who's
- 50:47Speaker 1: coming up here? And they threatening us aid last out

- 51:05Speaker 1: What is going on? Joy? You know him? Carmen? Why
- 51:09Speaker 1: are you asking me about Carmen? Where's calming it? Right now?
- 51:13Speaker 1: She's right here looking at me? What what is is? She?
- 51:18Speaker 1: Is she laughing? Hold on, yeah, now she's starting to laugh.

- 52:19Speaker 1: All right, So y'all let me know, y'all gotta tell
- 52:21Speaker 1: me what what's the limit? Now? What's the limit on
- 52:25Speaker 1: lashes on my pends on your style what you want.
- 52:29Speaker 1: You can have a natural look or you have to
- 52:32Speaker 1: tell all the more dramatics. Yeah, yeah, the last check
- 52:34Speaker 1: what you want when you're looking. But when they look
- 52:36Speaker 1: like a whole, like a whole, feathery, feathery, just a peacock.
- 52:43Speaker 1: I mean, if y'all know what I'm y'all seeing the
- 52:45Speaker 1: ones I'm talking about. Yeah, and we wear lashes. We
- 52:47Speaker 1: wear lashes every day because I love lashes. I want
- 52:50Speaker 1: me to stop wearing. But I can't tell that those
- 52:52Speaker 1: are nut y'all lashes. I can't tell that. Yeah, you
- 52:57Speaker 1: start look like a Disney character that with your last
- 53:00Speaker 1: come on now, just a whole lot here, now, come
- 53:03Speaker 1: on now. But you know what, nephew, you said it
- 53:05Speaker 1: best win is enough a limit? I think when you
- 53:07Speaker 1: can't see I think exactly you draw the line shirt. Yes,
- 53:13Speaker 1: have you ever seen a Chinese parade which are really incredible?
- 53:15Speaker 1: You ever seen that dragon? If you ever seen the
- 53:18Speaker 1: lashes that right now, that's a bit far. Yeah, I'm
- 53:23Speaker 1: sorry it's a bit far, so I mean these that's
- 53:27Speaker 1: what the men say. That's what I've always heard from
- 53:30Speaker 1: men about women's lashes, that they can get too long
- 53:33Speaker 1: and too much. I can't see it a s. I
- 53:35Speaker 1: can't see that as your pupil. I can't collecting dust
- 53:42Speaker 1: and everything. Enough. All that, all right, listen coming up

- 54:30Speaker 1: So let's buckle up and hold on tight. We got
- 54:31Speaker 1: it for you. Here. It is Strawberry Letter. Subject It's
- 54:35Speaker 1: a player's ball every weekend. There's Stephen Shirley. I'm fifty
- 54:40Speaker 1: five years old and my husband is your age, Steve.
- 54:43Speaker 1: We met online and hit it off quickly because we
- 54:46Speaker 1: loved to Dan's cook and collect antiques. I lived in
- 54:49Speaker 1: Detroit and he lived in Florida. When we met, and
- 54:52Speaker 1: after we talked on the phone for a couple of months,
- 54:54Speaker 1: he flew me to Florida for a visit. When I
- 54:57Speaker 1: got to was a little dusty house. My allergy wouldn't
- 55:00Speaker 1: allow me to stay there, so I had to get
- 55:02Speaker 1: a hotel room. His house is stuck in a time
- 55:05Speaker 1: warp and I'm still trying to fix it up now.
- 55:08Speaker 1: What shocked me the most about his place was the
- 55:10Speaker 1: very old furniture that he's had since his early thirties.
- 55:15Speaker 1: I'm into antiques, but he took it to a new level.
- 55:18Speaker 1: The same goes for his wardrobe. He's proud that he's
- 55:22Speaker 1: not gained much weight since he was twenty five, and
- 55:24Speaker 1: he can still wear his old suits. I'm talking old,
- 55:29Speaker 1: and she put old in all caps. He said the
- 55:33Speaker 1: new clothes style don't fit him right, and they're not
- 55:36Speaker 1: good quality material like the old fabrics. He shocks me
- 55:40Speaker 1: with his belted suit jackets, leg pants and all the
- 55:43Speaker 1: turtlenecks he owned. We're compatible in other areas, so I
- 55:47Speaker 1: tried to overlook his style. At first, I thought I
- 55:50Speaker 1: could buy him new things after we got married, but
- 55:53Speaker 1: he's not going to let that happen. Every night that
- 55:56Speaker 1: we go out, he looks like he's going to a
- 55:58Speaker 1: player's ball and I'm his daughter that tagged along with him.
- 56:03Speaker 1: People love taking pictures with him and often call him
- 56:07Speaker 1: old school. He seems to love the attention he gets
- 56:10Speaker 1: from the others, but from the others when we're out,
- 56:14Speaker 1: but I feel like the people are making fun of
- 56:17Speaker 1: him and it's embarrassing. How do I get him to
- 56:20Speaker 1: lose his seventies don Cornelius vibe and switch up his
- 56:23Speaker 1: wardrobe a little bit? Or is it wrong to try
- 56:26Speaker 1: and change him now that we're married? Please help? Wow?
- 56:30Speaker 1: How do you answer this letter? Your husband is stuck,
- 56:33Speaker 1: like you say, he's stuck in the seventies. At the
- 56:35Speaker 1: players ball with Superfly and the Mac. It was obviously
- 56:41Speaker 1: a great time for him, and he has fond memories
- 56:43Speaker 1: of his heyday. The issue is life is about change
- 56:48Speaker 1: and moving on, moving forward to make new memories. That's
- 56:51Speaker 1: what life's all about. Can you change him? You ask?
- 56:54Speaker 1: It doesn't sound like it, you know, we can only
- 56:57Speaker 1: change ourselves. The problem with him is the attention that
- 57:01Speaker 1: he gets. He gets a lot of attention. He loves it.
- 57:04Speaker 1: It's hard to tear him away from all of that.
- 57:06Speaker 1: He should want to make you happy too, though, and
- 57:09Speaker 1: he should be open to your suggestions. If you want
- 57:12Speaker 1: him to try something new and different, try to nicely
- 57:15Speaker 1: persuade him to wear a new piece. And when he does,
- 57:18Speaker 1: you know, you gotta do the old. Baby. You look
- 57:20Speaker 1: so good, you look sexy in that. You gotta fawn
- 57:23Speaker 1: all over him and make him feel good. Maybe you
- 57:25Speaker 1: can influence him that way. Otherwise you're gonna have to
- 57:27Speaker 1: take the good with the bad, you know, meaning, keep dancing,
- 57:31Speaker 1: keep you know, keep going out you guys having fun,
- 57:34Speaker 1: keep antique shopping with him, and keep cooking together. Those
- 57:38Speaker 1: things are good. Those things are in place, and you're
- 57:40Speaker 1: happy with that. But his wardrobe sounds like it's gonna
- 57:43Speaker 1: be what it is, the blaired pants and the belted jackets.
- 57:46Speaker 1: I don't know. He's sixty six. Hard to change him, Tommy,
- 57:51Speaker 1: And you're not the rules, pretty baby. Come on, Cozie,
- 57:55Speaker 1: and you know how Right now I'm gonna wear what
- 57:59Speaker 1: I want to wear. And when we go out, you
- 58:00Speaker 1: understand me. All right, I'm gonna put on my mink
- 58:03Speaker 1: coat and my window pane pants, baby, and that's how
- 58:07Speaker 1: we're gonna do this thing. You understand now, I want
- 58:10Speaker 1: you to get over there to that bar, baby, and
- 58:12Speaker 1: bring me a whiskey sour. You understand what I mean.
- 58:15Speaker 1: I mean that I'm saying because when daddy wants something,
- 58:18Speaker 1: that's what daddy wanting. Look at me, tell you someone.
- 58:20Speaker 1: When I get back in this house, I don't want
- 58:21Speaker 1: to hear nothing about this couch that I bought it
- 58:24Speaker 1: money gonna be warded in nineteen seventy one because this
- 58:28Speaker 1: is the baddest thing that they was making at the time.
- 58:30Speaker 1: You understand me, right across from my high five stere Yo,
- 58:34Speaker 1: you did it? I mean that all right? This these
- 58:37Speaker 1: speakers are from Jensen. You understand what I'm saying. And
- 58:40Speaker 1: in the bedroom, I got some ken woods in there
- 58:43Speaker 1: that's gonna be bouncing the baby. Okay, So did it?
- 58:46Speaker 1: When I talk to you, I want you to make
- 58:48Speaker 1: sure that daddy always got what daddy need. Now you
- 58:51Speaker 1: get in there and you polish up my platform, my
- 58:54Speaker 1: platform shoes, and you make this look right for me. Okay,
- 58:59Speaker 1: And before we go out tomorrow night. I'm gonna need
- 59:02Speaker 1: you to straighten my hair and get Daddy the way
- 59:05Speaker 1: Daddy want to look. You feel me, and that's what
- 59:07Speaker 1: I'm digging with right here. You get that straighten income
- 59:09Speaker 1: and put it on that stove. Yeah, I'm gonna sit
- 59:12Speaker 1: in the kitchen with you and we're gonna get this
- 59:13Speaker 1: as straight like Daddy wanted. You understand me, Okay, Now,
- 59:17Speaker 1: I don't want to. I don't want to hear nothing
- 59:19Speaker 1: about no Louis Batons and no Gucci's up in here,
- 59:22Speaker 1: all right, because I didn't have it's doing it up
- 59:24Speaker 1: in here, baby, all right? So when you dig it,
- 59:27Speaker 1: dig it when I'm talking to you, you know the rules.
- 59:30Speaker 1: You chose me. Now we can settle this like we
- 59:33Speaker 1: got some class, or we can get into some gangster business.
- 59:37Speaker 1: You understand that, and I mean that. Now, bring me
- 59:40Speaker 1: my belt to my meat coat and let me tie
- 59:43Speaker 1: it in a knock because I'm feeling sexy. You feel me.
- 59:47Speaker 1: They wanted me to be sweet daddy on good times,
- 59:50Speaker 1: and I tear that down because I already knew I's
- 59:53Speaker 1: been too much. I'd have been too much for the
- 59:55Speaker 1: Evans family. You feel me, baby, Yeah, yeah, all right,
- 59:59Speaker 1: But because I am the original sweet daddy. Yeah, So
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: all I can say is what you gotta do is
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: you gotta blend into what sweet Daddy want baby, all right,
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: what I was sweet Daddy asking for. That's what you do.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: But you don't come up in here with no Calvin Klein,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: a little town and a Gucci and definitely not none
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: of that that that that that aremoney stuff. Man. No,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: we're sticking to what we've been wearing. Baby silk shirt,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: open up to the second button with chains hanging in
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: the middle. You're gonna lock me the way I am. Baby.
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: Let my passing on to my man junior boy, he
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: gonna handle it on the next break man, because that's
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: how we do it, all right, That's how players play,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: you feel me? Yeah? All right, listen, we'll have part
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: two of the response to the shrubbery letters you got
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: to say coming up. Subject today is it's a player's
- 1:00:50Speaker 1: ball every weekend. We'll get into it right after this.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: Stick yourself, stick yourself. You're listening show all right. Time
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Now to recap the strawberry letter, The subject is it's
- 1:01:04Speaker 1: a player's ball every weekend. A fifty five year old
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: woman wrote in about her husband, who is sixty six.
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: She said, he's Steve's age. They met online. They hit
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: it off because they I missed that the first times.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I'm fifty five and my husband is your age, Steve,
- 1:01:22Speaker 1: so he's sixty six. That's the first line, right. They
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: met online. They hit it off because they had so
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: many things in common. They both loved shopping for antiques,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: they both loved dancing, and they both loved to cook.
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: So she lived in Detroit, he lived in Florida. She
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: moved to Florida. When she went down to his house,
- 1:01:42Speaker 1: she couldn't believe it because his house was stuck in
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: the when he was in his early thirties. The furniture
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: was the same. She said. She had to move out
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: and get a hotel because it was really, I mean
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: literally dusty in there. He wore the same clothes his
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: wardrobe was. It's terrible, she said, because he's still dressed
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: like he was thirty. He hadn't gained much weight, so
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: he could still wear all of those old clothes. He said.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: The fabrics that they make these days don't compare with
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: the fabrics of back in the day. He still wears
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: he still wears belt and jackets. He still wears bell
- 1:02:20Speaker 1: bottoms or flared leg pants, and you know, he walks proudly.
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: When they go out into the club. He gets a
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: lot of attention. She's afraid that the people are really
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: making fun of him and not you know, loving him
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: like he thinks they are. So what she wants to
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: know is how does she get him to lose his
- 1:02:38Speaker 1: seventies don Cornelius vibe and switch up his wardrobe a
- 1:02:41Speaker 1: little bit? She wants to know is it wrong to
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: change him since they're married? She needs help. She says
- 1:02:47Speaker 1: she can't tell us how many turtlenecks he owns because
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: she doesn't know. She's never seen so many turtlenecks on again.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: Eight tents. Yeah, all right, Junior, we need to hear
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: from you now what you got with that boy. I
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: don't even know what to tell you, because, yeah, I
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: didn't get here till seventy eight with the hello. I know, yeah,
- 1:03:12Speaker 1: I can't even understand. I mean, I remember seeing some
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: of this stuff. Now you know what I mean? If
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: he ended these black lights, he just end the black lights.
- 1:03:17Speaker 1: I don't know, Lava, Now, I mean, hes gonna have
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: nuggets on every hand. I mean, this is what the
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: nuggetings gonna be there, Cadillac, you're finna get in it?
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: You getting out of It's the same one seventy fold?
- 1:03:29Speaker 1: Come on, what do you want us to do? He
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: is him? This is him. You should have asked what
- 1:03:34Speaker 1: he looked like or got a picture before you went
- 1:03:36Speaker 1: down the Florida. You would have known this already. Yeah,
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Same. He probably told you
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: to bring you some of them what you call them
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: for darls, the hats timing from Detroit to down down
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: to see things and bring me one of the hats
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: back down here. Yes, I'm old school. That's him. That's
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: who he is. Old school. That's his dress, that's his style.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: That's him. And they may be making fun of but
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: he's a player. He don't even care. Every day this
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: is what I bring him. Yeah, yeah, what his name is?
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: Tommy probably got what his name is? Just give me
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: a name. That's him, Simp slim, that's sick slam all
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: day long. Man, I don't know what you want to be, Okay, Tommy,
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: everywhere you go, what's your theme music? I know you
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: got theme music. Every time you take a staff, it's
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: theme music playing in the back. That's him him all day. Baby,
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: that's him. They call him old school Junior. They called
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: old school O, old school oh ge, that's him all day.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: You're not changing that. He's not giving that up. You're
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: not getting him in twenty twenty three. He's not coming. No.
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: That's why I said, you know, be happy with the
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: things that you do have together. You have the shopping
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: for antiques, you have the cooking, you have the dance thing,
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: the wardrobe. You may have to let that go. It is,
- 1:05:00Speaker 1: but but look at the bright side though. If you
- 1:05:02Speaker 1: need stockings, he got stocking socks. He got there. You see,
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: y'all can share some of this stuff. He got them
- 1:05:09Speaker 1: pinstriped socks. Now, I'm telling you he got them. You
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: can wear them socks. All he is is this his
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: to his hard is in there. It's in there. It's
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: not coming out. It's not coming out. And he's not changing.
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: That's nothing she could do. This is your man, watch it,
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: suckerime time turkey. That's him. Maybe if she called ain't margin,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: ain't margin is the only one I've seen poor list off.

- 1:05:42Speaker 1: He actually poured them out of transformed she transformed it.

- 1:06:02Speaker 1: in no pockets? All them got buttons? Stopped quit doing this?
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Why you gotta cover in your pants with a button
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: on it? What did you are? You're gonna uncover it later?
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: What is that fall? You gonna uncover it? Nobody got
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: no pull over T shirt with no buttons on? Why

- 1:06:36Speaker 1: through the beads, you understand me. Get over here to
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: the right, there's a big wooden spoon and fog hanging
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: on the wall. It just lets you know that we're

- 1:08:10Speaker 1: didn't send the basketball team to the football might let
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: him switch. Maybe thinking outside the bus, that's really think
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: that's side the bus there, that's Joe's looking across the
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: street like when we don't have nothing to do with him.

- 1:08:41Speaker 1: wants more money than Deshaun Watson guaranteed, he won't. He
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: wont more than two hundred and thirty million. And he

- 1:10:30Speaker 1: You're Listening show. Jamila on Facebook writes, my roommates New
- 1:10:42Speaker 1: Year's resolution was to get back in shape, and she's
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: still going strong. She's going to the gym five days
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: a week, she's eating better, and she's not snacking as
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: far as I've seen anyway. Me, on the other hand, well,
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: I'm basking in the glory of Girl Scout cookie season
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: and this has created some tension. It's not like I'm
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: eating them in her face and gloating, But now she's
- 1:11:06Speaker 1: saying that even seeing a box in the trash is
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: torture and temptation, and I should have more respect for
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: what she's trying to accomplish. I do respect it, But
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: ain't nobody giving up then mints? Uh so Tommy and
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: j No, Tommy and Junior. Is there some sort of

- 1:12:02Speaker 1: box the tsh. She burned the box, do something, leaving
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: this evidence around, Junior. No, I'm telling now the thin
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: mints and girls gotta cookies. They are to not to
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: be played with it. I don't say if you're trying
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: to lose weight, I'm eating the right in front of you.
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: I'm not worried about you. You the one want to
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: be thin, not me. Gona eat thin mints don't want
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: to be thin though, I just doesn't know. I go
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: eat the right in front of her face. I don't care.
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: I pay renting here too, but I pay my half. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: as I eat a thin mint, I'm telling you that
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: that's it. What what do you care? It's not your fault,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: it's not your business. She the one got the pressure
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: on her. Now she's going into trash smelling that box.
- 1:12:46Speaker 1: Every time you put one in there, I put two, three,
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: And then the day I just get all the long.

- 1:13:40Speaker 1: I don't. I don't want a healthy nugget. I don't
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: you're going in. Let's go going in? All right? I
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: think we have time for one more. Sorry, you're on
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: your own. You're on your own, Jamilla, you're on your
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: own girl? Are you eating him right now? That's what
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: that's what's sound like every day and they're you look
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: at gooda coming out right? All right, let's get to Tisha.
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: On Steve Barb FM, Tisha writes, my husband has been
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: a know it all for as long as I've known him,
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: but he's actually right a lot of the time. Although
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: I don't like to encourage him. He's warned me several
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: times that he thinks I'm taking a big chance parking
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: my car on the street when I go to work
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: in the city. But I tell him stop worrying that
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: it's perfectly safe. Well, yesterday I came out at the
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: end of the day and someone had crashed into my
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: rear bumper. I don't want to tell him because he'll
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: never let me live it down. So should I just
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: swallow my pride and admit he was right? Or secretly
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: get it fixed? Should I tell him a little lie
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: it wasn't parked on the street when the damage happens.
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: What should I do this. Ain't worry lying, but yeah,
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: I don't know why would you do this? Ain't nothing
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: to lie? But I keep you don't get your car fixed?
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: At him? You did? Maybe you know what? She was right?
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: I seen in the parked on the street. He was
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: so so right. I got hit and you know what,
- 1:15:05Speaker 1: I need to get the car fixed. That's all. It'll
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: take it on the chain. Yeah, tell your many. I
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: agree the truth. Man, last, I can't stand there all right, Well,
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: have more of the Steve Harvey Morning Show coming up
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to show ticket Later November seven,
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: Rivera says he attempted to get the ticket back from
- 1:15:30Speaker 1: Reggie since it apparently was a winning entry, but Reggie
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: told Rivera that the ticket had losing number. Still, Reggie
- 1:15:37Speaker 1: said he would give half of the jackpot to Rivera
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: if the ticket won. Now, it seems that a different
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: man altogether won the powerball edwin. Castro was found to
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: have the winning ticket and reportedly chose to take the
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: nine hundred and ninety seven point six million dollars lump.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Some After learning this, Rivera went back to the California
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: Lottery and again asked for an investigation. The California Lottery
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: released a statement in part saying they are not authorized
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: to investigate criminal activity among its players. Such allegations are
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: subject to investigation only by local law enforcement. You got
- 1:16:15Speaker 1: to keep these lottery tickets in your drawls. You cannot
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: be open with these tickets and confused with it. Who
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: is Edwin? I mean, what if Reggie come up missing?
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: Coming up in thirty three minutes after the hour, we'll
- 1:16:35Speaker 1: play a round of would you rather? Right after this?
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: You're listening to show? All right, guys, it's time now
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: for a round of would you rather? Would you rather
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: never use the internet again? Or never fly on a
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: plane again? Which one? Hey you need? I don't know
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: how we're gonna book these tickets without this dawn internet,
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: But yeah, I rather I got the fly you call
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: you could call it airline. Now we're back to walking. Well,
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: now we're back to walking in there, bying a ticket
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: at the count, back to doing that, which is cool.
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: I still gonna get there putting it being put on
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: hold for hours and that because I can't bust it
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: across America. Normo, I can't do that for you? All right?
- 1:17:25Speaker 1: Would you rather be? In a real life version of
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: the Walking Dead, okay or Jurassic Park, which which one
- 1:17:35Speaker 1: I'm I'm not. I'm not doing any dead people. I'm
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: not doing I'm not doing I'm with you, dinosaur, the
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: terra docto, I'm doing all that, but I'm not I'm
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: not the the dead people walk around. I'm not gonna
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: do it. Okay, Yes, Carla, have y'all seen Jurassic Park? Yes,
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: we'd rather run from a dinosaur than the zombies. Yes, yes,
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Because one the dead people bite you, that's it. You
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: become dead too. I don't want that. But missed a
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: round and got a big wasn't paying attention a sudden.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: I'm seeing my uncle Fred, who's been dead twenty years.
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: We know, all right? Would your brother? Would you rather
- 1:18:19Speaker 1: exist in the world with only your wife? Or everyone
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: but your wife? Oh? Yeah, wife, that's it. But just
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: you and her though, that's cool, Not me and my baby?
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: Just awell awell, ain't but time? Oh yeah, ain't nobody
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: else in the world but us, right and cool? We
- 1:18:44Speaker 1: just Adam and Eve. We neck it in afraid. I mean,
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: what what time are we in? You? Where? We don't care?
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: It don't matter because it's just it's me and huh,
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: all right, here's one. Would you rather eat one raw
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: onion or one hundred candy bars in one sitting? Which
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: one a raw onion? Onion? Pledge? I need a raw onion?
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: You can eat row. Yeah, it takes it takes bout
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: three weeks to get out of you know, it takes
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: bout three weeks. Yeah, okay, So onion on what one
- 1:19:19Speaker 1: hundred snickers? Hundred snickers? H give me that, give me
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: that purple on you know instead of that yellower white one. Okay,
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: So Carl and I snickers all day long, girl, Okay,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: I'll be eating hundred snickers, right, I know. All right.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: That's today's version of I take that onion and kiss
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: y'all dead and y'all coming up in forty nine minutes
- 1:19:55Speaker 1: after the hour. It's our last break of the day
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: and we'll close out the show right after. You're listening
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: to last break of the day. We've got a great
- 1:20:06Speaker 1: morning today, Yes, Yes, we have fun today. Steve. It's
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: time for you now to take us home with your
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: closing remarks. What you got for us today, Steve, Well,
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: this is going to be shortened to the point I
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: think I just want to remind everybody something that your
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: dreams can come true if you're willing to fight for him.
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: You have to fight for your dreams. You have to
- 1:20:29Speaker 1: fight for the life of your dreams. You have to
- 1:20:32Speaker 1: fight to be free. You have to fight to be
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: an entrepreneur. You have to fight to be successful. You
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: have to fight the nay sayers when you say I'm
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: gonna leave my job. You have to fight the nay
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: sayers when you say I want a better job. You
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: have to fight some forces out there when you go,
- 1:20:51Speaker 1: you know what, I'm gonna leave here to pursue a
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: better position at another company. You're gonna have to fight
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: for it. Change requires a fight. It just does. It
- 1:21:05Speaker 1: just does. I don't know why it is, man, but
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: there's people always in our lives somewhere who are going
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: to fight us on decisions that we make about ourselves.
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: I don't know why it is, but it seems to
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: happen for everybody. All of us have to fight to
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: get through to the other side. You have to fight
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: through the wall of fear. You have to fight through doubt,
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: you have to fight through confusion. You got to fight
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: through the nay says. You got to fight through haters.
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: You gotta fight through the fact that it didn't go
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: your way. You have to fight through the fact that
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: you got up and you just wasn't feeling yourself today.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: You gotta find a way to fight through. You gotta
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: find something in you that makes you key fighting even
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: when you don't. There's a poem that stands at a
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: point that says, if you can force your heart, your nerve,
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: and your SiNW to serve its turn, long after it
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: has gone, when there is nothing left within you except
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: the will to say to them, hold on, you have
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: to fight like that. Now. The funny thing about that
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: line and that point, I think that's uh if if
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: and the stand the stanza says, if you can force
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: your heart, your nerve, and SiNW s new is the
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: fibers that holds all your insights together. They call that
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: s new, those tenders or whatever it is, that that
- 1:22:52Speaker 1: stuff that that there's lines and cords and fibers that
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: hold your heart and organ and all that stuff in place.
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: If you could force your heart, nervous a new to
- 1:23:04Speaker 1: serve your turn long after it has gone, when there's
- 1:23:07Speaker 1: nothing left within you, accept the will to say to
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: them hold on. That's how you got to fight. That's
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: how you got to fight. And it's all right, but
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: make it a good fight. Don't lay down. Don't let
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: nobody punk you out your dreams, don't let nobody trick
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: you out of what God has for you. Don't let
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: the fact that you got to fight stop you from fighting.
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: Life is a fight, man, it's a dog fight out here.
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: They're not walking money up to your house. I'm sorry,
- 1:23:35Speaker 1: they're not passing out you. They don't send free money
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: to nobody's house. You got to do something to get it.
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: And if you really want to get it, you are
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: involved in a fight. Like it or not. That is
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: what we are in. We are in a fight, So
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: get with it. Stop punking out. It ain't time for that.
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: You're in a fight. We are in a fight. Let's go.
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: That's what it is every day. And if you think
- 1:24:06Speaker 1: it's not, keep sitting up in here lighting letting life
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: slap you upside your head, because that's exactly what it's
- 1:24:11Speaker 1: gonna do. You're in a fight, folks. You're in a
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: fight for your dreams. You are in a fight for
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: the life God has for you. You are in a
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: fight for your future. You are in a fight for
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: your promotion. You're in a fight for advancement. You're in
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: a fight to do life better. You are in a
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: fight to have more. You are in a fight to succeed.
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: You are in a fight to overcome. You are in
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: a fight to beat illness. You are in a fight
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: every day of your life. What you think this is
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: you got to fight and make it a good fight.
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: Here's the tip to fighting. If you have God in
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: your life, you will not lose the fight. Period. That's
- 1:25:00Speaker 1: all I gotta tell you. If you have God in
- 1:25:02Speaker 1: your life, you will not lose the fight if you
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: include Him in the process. Seeing all of my fights,
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: here's my partner here, my tag teen partner. When I
- 1:25:15Speaker 1: tag him in, everybody in the ring me declared. All
- 1:25:19Speaker 1: the people that take me to court falsely, all the
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: people who lie about me falsely, all the people who
- 1:25:26Speaker 1: try to brut me down for self gain. Yeah, I'm
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: not over here by myself. I am protected by a
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: scripture Isaiah fifty four seventeen that no weapon formed against
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: me shall prosper come from me. If you want to,
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: I'm just gonna take you. I'm gonna hand you the scripture.
- 1:25:48Speaker 1: Get out the way. I've seen him do it for
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: me too many times. But I know I'm in a fight.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: I just don't go to the fight alone. You can't
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: take a knife to a gun fight for God in
- 1:26:03Speaker 1: your life, and you cannot lose the fight, because that's
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: what we're in. We're in a fight. You feel me, Yes, sir?
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: Drop the mic, baby, that was a good one, Steve.
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: That's yeah, in a fight good, try to fight for
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: your dreams. All right, Well, thank you, sir, y'all have
