Latest / The Ben Ferguson Podcast / Israel LIMITS Response Against Iran with Retaliatory Strike
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: All right, so let's immediately start with the breaking news
- 0:04Speaker 1: that many of you woke up to, and that is
- 0:07Speaker 1: that Iran was attacked by Israel. This was a retaliatory strike,
- 0:12Speaker 1: very clearly. It was also a strike that was limited,
- 0:17Speaker 1: and it was clearly a strike design to show Iran
- 0:22Speaker 1: that they could penetrate the air defense systems of Iran.
- 0:28Speaker 1: This was to let them know we can come after
- 0:30Speaker 1: your targets whenever we want to, and you cannot stop us.
- 0:35Speaker 1: There was one headline this morning that said Israel gets
- 0:38Speaker 1: revenge against Iran, strikes multiple areas. I couldn't disagree more
- 0:44Speaker 1: with that headline. This was not getting revenge. Let me
- 0:48Speaker 1: say that again, Israel did not get revenge. Israel sent
- 0:52Speaker 1: a clear message, a very clear message. This was number one,
- 0:59Speaker 1: limited and it was to clearly show that we can
- 1:04Speaker 1: penetrate your air defense easily and next time we can
- 1:07Speaker 1: do whatever we want to do. I'm not the only one,
- 1:10Speaker 1: by the way, that's saying this. I'm going to play
- 1:12Speaker 1: you some audio. I haven't even heard this audio yet.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Someone sent it to me and said, hey, MSNBC is
- 1:18Speaker 1: saying that the Israeli strike on Iran was limited. It
- 1:21Speaker 1: absolutely was it was not a true show of power
- 1:27Speaker 1: or a even you could say, an equal response to
- 1:30Speaker 1: what Iran did last week. Listen, revetis what's your best
- 1:35Speaker 1: rate on what happened last night and what's been happening
- 1:39Speaker 1: over the last twelve to twenty four hours.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I think it was indeed a muted strike, a limited strike.
- 1:47Speaker 2: Clearly Israel, as we talked about earlier in the week,
- 1:52Speaker 2: Joe had a basket of options here. They could have
- 1:55Speaker 2: gone big. There were certainly voices in Israel calling for that.
- 2:00Speaker 2: They could have simply left it as cyber, non kinetic
- 2:04Speaker 2: kind of operation. They chose, as you and I talked
- 2:07Speaker 2: about a few days ago, kind of in the middle,
- 2:09Speaker 2: and I think what they sought to do when they accomplished,
- 2:13Speaker 2: was to show that they can penetrate Iranian air defenses.
- 2:18Speaker 2: We'll know a bit more here over the next twenty
- 2:20Speaker 2: four forty eight hours as battle damage assessments come out,
- 2:24Speaker 2: But I, for one, believe that we're now in a
- 2:28Speaker 2: ninety percent probability that this will settle down, go back
- 2:33Speaker 2: into the shadows, follow a path of de escalation. I
- 2:36Speaker 2: think there's still a ten percent chance that could flare
- 2:39Speaker 2: up in a bigger way, and I'll close by giving
- 2:42Speaker 2: you a couple indicators to watch over the next few days.
- 2:47Speaker 2: Richard Engel mentioned one of them, which are the public
- 2:50Speaker 2: statements coming out from Tehran and Jerusalem. Those are reassuring
- 2:54Speaker 2: at the moment. Number two is activity from Hesbo.
- 2:59Speaker 3: Loot to the north.
- 3:00Speaker 2: Are they going to ramp up be unleashed by Teyron.
- 3:04Speaker 2: They've got one hundred thousand plus missiles. That's the threat
- 3:08Speaker 2: I think our Israeli friends are watching for this morning.
- 3:12Speaker 2: And then third and finally, you know the Admiral is
- 3:14Speaker 2: going to say it. Watch what happens at c If
- 3:18Speaker 2: Heron really wants to retaliate and go largely back against Jerusalem,
- 3:26Speaker 2: they could do it at sea against Israeli shipping, or
- 3:29Speaker 2: they could close the Straight or horn Mows. Final thought,
- 3:32Speaker 2: those are small probabilities. At this point. I think we're
- 3:36Speaker 2: probably in a position to see things settle down, let's hope.
- 3:39Speaker 1: So now I want you to understand who that was.
- 3:41Speaker 1: It was just speaking there, and this is important. That's
- 3:44Speaker 1: the former NATO Supreme Allied Commander. He has dealt with
- 3:47Speaker 1: a lot of this. He is a NBC MSNBC commentator.
- 3:53Speaker 1: He's not a very political person. As you can tell
- 3:55Speaker 1: in his assessment, I heard that for the first time
- 3:57Speaker 1: because it just happened as you were hearing it. And
- 4:01Speaker 1: that is exactly the same assessment that I just gave
- 4:04Speaker 1: you beforehand, which is that this is probably going to
- 4:08Speaker 1: de escalate.
- 4:09Speaker 3: Now, what this also means is.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Israel did what I'm not sure I would have been
- 4:15Speaker 1: capable of doing. They held back after their people have
- 4:21Speaker 1: been slaughtered, after an onslaught of drone and missile attacks
- 4:25Speaker 1: that numbered more than three hundred, trying to wipe out
- 4:27Speaker 1: and indiscriminately kill people. You have to understand about the
- 4:29Speaker 1: attack that Iran did on Israel. It was not targeting buildings,
- 4:32Speaker 1: It was not targeting targets. You look at the Israeli strike,
- 4:36Speaker 1: it was insanely limited first off, and it was targeting
- 4:41Speaker 1: certain targets specifically that were not civilian targets, unlike what
- 4:46Speaker 1: happened last week. Now, before Iran's attack on Israel last week,
- 4:52Speaker 1: and this comes into American foreign policy and something you
- 4:54Speaker 1: need to understand. President Joe Biden had a one word
- 4:57Speaker 1: message for Tehran. Don't guess what. They didn't listen why
- 5:02Speaker 1: because they know the United States of America right now
- 5:04Speaker 1: is weak. And then the aftermath the attack, Biden didn't
- 5:08Speaker 1: utter that one word advice publicly, but it was fairly
- 5:12Speaker 1: obvious that his administration wanted the Israelis to do exactly that.
- 5:18Speaker 3: Don't don't respond.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Axios even reported that Biden had told the Israeli Prime
- 5:23Speaker 1: Minister in Yahoo that the United States quote would not
- 5:25Speaker 1: support any counter attack launch by the Israelis, and that,
- 5:30Speaker 1: to quote the President, you got to win.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Take the win. Now.
- 5:34Speaker 1: The definition of the win that the President was referring to,
- 5:37Speaker 1: which is the most insane part of all, is that
- 5:40Speaker 1: you didn't die. People didn't die on mass numbers. You
- 5:45Speaker 1: shot down and the iron dome work. So you got
- 5:47Speaker 1: to win. Take a win. That's like someone shooting at you,
- 5:51Speaker 1: they miss, you know who they are, and then someone
- 5:54Speaker 1: tells you not to respond or not to retaliate because
- 5:58Speaker 1: you're like, well, you got to win.
- 5:59Speaker 3: You didn't die, Are you kidding me? That's insane logic.
- 6:05Speaker 1: And that is the President of United States of America
- 6:06Speaker 1: yet again showing extreme weakness, which worries me about attacks
- 6:10Speaker 1: that could happen in this country at the hands of
- 6:12Speaker 1: terrorists coming across our southern border, just.
- 6:15Speaker 3: Like that attack in Israel.
- 6:17Speaker 1: Now that's also, as one put it, a very interesting
- 6:21Speaker 1: Biden foreign policy definition of a win.
- 6:26Speaker 3: Now it quickly became a parent as well.
- 6:28Speaker 1: That is, the Israeli government wasn't going to take that advice,
- 6:31Speaker 1: and by the way, they shouldn't have. They should not
- 6:34Speaker 1: have taken that advice. And you look at the ABC
- 6:38Speaker 1: News reports, I go back to that. The missile launches
- 6:42Speaker 1: followed Iran's attack last Saturday, where the country sent a
- 6:46Speaker 1: valley of more than three hundred un crewede drones and
- 6:51Speaker 1: missiles towards targets throughout the country. Israeli military officials previously
- 6:56Speaker 1: said what we find out was there really wasn't targets.
- 6:59Speaker 1: It was into scriminate shooting into Israel. It was just
- 7:02Speaker 1: about mass chaos and mass casualties. That was their goal.
- 7:07Speaker 3: CNN also reported that explosions have been heard at two sites.
- 7:12Speaker 1: In the province of an area where their nuclear program
- 7:16Speaker 1: is believed to be, as well as an airport and
- 7:19Speaker 1: an army base. The sites weren't named, by the way,
- 7:23Speaker 1: by ABC News, but according to New York Post, several
- 7:26Speaker 1: explosions were heard across the country in the early hours
- 7:29Speaker 1: of Friday morning. Missiles had been used. The Times of
- 7:34Speaker 1: Israel also said this morning that the strikes were centered
- 7:37Speaker 1: around an area which is the home of some of
- 7:40Speaker 1: Iran's nuclear facilities. It said the attacks were carried out
- 7:43Speaker 1: with drones, not missiles. That's coming from the Times of Israel.
- 7:48Speaker 3: Now.
- 7:48Speaker 1: The Israel launching of these missiles, making it clear they
- 7:52Speaker 1: were going after military targets, not just an attack on
- 7:57Speaker 1: Iran is one of the most limited, okay, one of
- 8:03Speaker 1: the most limited responses we've ever seen. The Times of
- 8:10Speaker 1: Israel reporting this morning that an official had said that
- 8:13Speaker 1: the strikes were, in their words, limited in nature and
- 8:16Speaker 1: were aimed at Iranian military targets. Officials in Tehran initially
- 8:24Speaker 1: played down the attack, first telling Ruters that explosions heard
- 8:28Speaker 1: in the region were a result of the activation of
- 8:31Speaker 1: Iran's air defense system. That's a lie, and Iranian officials
- 8:35Speaker 1: told Reuters on Friday, adding that no missile attacks were
- 8:38Speaker 1: carried out against Iran. That's also a lie. We've seen
- 8:41Speaker 1: the video. One other thing that is interesting about this
- 8:45Speaker 1: de escalation, now, will this go backwards?
- 8:48Speaker 3: Right?
- 8:48Speaker 1: Will we move backwards and not forward? Is the Iranian
- 8:54Speaker 1: Minister of Foreign Affairs. He has come out, and this
- 8:59Speaker 1: is what he has said this morning moments ago in
- 9:02Speaker 1: an interview with CNN.
- 9:04Speaker 4: In case the Israeli embarks on adventurism again and takes
- 9:13Speaker 4: action against the interests of Iran, the next response from
- 9:19Speaker 4: US will be immediate and at a maximum level.
- 9:25Speaker 1: So they're even saying, in essence, okay, we're not going
- 9:29Speaker 1: to respond. Why because what they understand is they are
- 9:33Speaker 1: basically defenseless against a major air attack from Israel. Israel
- 9:38Speaker 1: just sent a very clear message you ever do that again,
- 9:43Speaker 1: and this is how quickly we can get through your
- 9:45Speaker 1: air defense, and this is how quickly we can own you.
- 9:50Speaker 1: It's actually that clear. That's it, full stop. I also
- 9:55Speaker 1: want you to understand something else, and this is coming
- 9:59Speaker 1: from the Iranian Foreign Minister as well. Not only do
- 10:04Speaker 1: they say, well, if Israel takes action again, the next
- 10:06Speaker 1: response from US will be immediate, the Iranian Foreign Minister
- 10:10Speaker 1: of Foreign Affairs also said this, which is a lie
- 10:14Speaker 1: about their intentions.
- 10:16Speaker 4: How our objective was warned as to send a clear
- 10:20Speaker 4: message to be received by the government of Israel and
- 10:23Speaker 4: to let its know that we do have the means
- 10:25Speaker 4: to respond. I will repeat again, we never seek the
- 10:29Speaker 4: expansion of chaos and warfare intentions in the region.
- 10:34Speaker 1: That's a lie. You had a attack. There was a
- 10:38Speaker 1: nine to eleven style attack, and an attack that was
- 10:42Speaker 1: a nine to eleven style attack that killed and you
- 10:44Speaker 1: still have hostages. Iran was responsible for the first attack
- 10:51Speaker 1: on the people six months ago that are still being
- 10:55Speaker 1: held hostage.
- 10:57Speaker 3: They helped train.
- 11:00Speaker 1: Facilitate, organize, and fund the attack on the innocent men, women, children, infants,
- 11:10Speaker 1: and great great grandparents and grandparents. They helped train the
- 11:17Speaker 1: terrorists that came in and stabbed innocent little Jewish children
- 11:21Speaker 1: and babies to death, rape them, put them in ovens,
- 11:26Speaker 1: and cook them. It was genocide. That was a day
- 11:29Speaker 1: of genocide. They were there to wipe out all the Jews.
- 11:34Speaker 1: They were also sending a clear message that they were
- 11:37Speaker 1: Israel was vulnerable. That was part of their other part
- 11:40Speaker 1: of their mission. And they took hostages to have leverage.
- 11:46Speaker 1: And then you've seen the anti Israel, anti Semitic chanting
- 11:51Speaker 1: that's happened around literally all over this country on college campuses.
- 11:57Speaker 1: We saw it yesterday in New York City at a
- 11:59Speaker 1: maid your college campus, and this was their goal. And
- 12:04Speaker 1: now you have a president that can't come out and
- 12:06Speaker 1: support Israel because the polling number shows him that the
- 12:10Speaker 1: majority of young people are anti Israel. There they're anti Semites,
- 12:15Speaker 1: they're biggots, they're racists, and they hate Israel. That is
- 12:20Speaker 1: the Democratic Party, which is they're not even Democrats. They're
- 12:23Speaker 1: masquerading as Democrats, are Marxists or socialists and their communists,
- 12:27Speaker 1: and they hate the Jews.
- 12:29Speaker 3: The Democratic Party.
- 12:30Speaker 1: As a whole hates the Jews. And we have a
- 12:33Speaker 1: president that is not standing behind the Jewish people. And
- 12:37Speaker 1: so when Iran's foreign minister comes out to CNN and
- 12:41Speaker 1: says we'll never seek the expansion of cast in the region,
- 12:44Speaker 1: the follow up question is, well, you're full of you
- 12:46Speaker 1: know what. But they let them keep talking. The follow
- 12:50Speaker 1: up should have been, you were that is a lie.
- 12:53Speaker 1: You guys just helped aid in a bet and train. Okay,
- 12:57Speaker 1: you guys just trained the people to commit these heinous crimes.
- 13:04Speaker 3: That's what you just did. You gave them the tools
- 13:06Speaker 3: and the drones necessary.
- 13:08Speaker 1: I also sit there and when they say that they
- 13:11Speaker 1: never want the expansion in the region. Right as they
- 13:13Speaker 1: just described, Iran is responsible for killing more American soldiers
- 13:18Speaker 1: through roadside bomb attacks and explosives than any other country
- 13:23Speaker 1: during the longest war in American history in Afghanistan and Iran,
- 13:29Speaker 1: or I say Iraq, there's blood on the hands and
- 13:33Speaker 1: a lot of dead bodies that were facilitated and orchestrated
- 13:40Speaker 1: by Iran. Iran also gave safe haven to the worst
- 13:42Speaker 1: terrorists in the world that we were trying to kill.
- 13:46Speaker 3: The worst terrasts in the world.
- 13:49Speaker 1: Isis and Al Kata terrats used Iran as a safe haven.
- 13:52Speaker 3: After they would attack.
- 13:53Speaker 1: They would go there and train and plan their attacks,
- 13:56Speaker 1: and Iran would give them the weaponry and the explosives
- 13:59Speaker 1: and the roadside bombs needed to kill American soldiers. I
- 14:04Speaker 1: would also make it clear we don't hold them accountable
- 14:06Speaker 1: for that. And if you want to know just how
- 14:11Speaker 1: weak the President of the United States of America is,
- 14:14Speaker 1: and this is maybe the most important point I'm going
- 14:17Speaker 1: to make, the President of the United States of America
- 14:22Speaker 1: still has not come out and done anything from a
- 14:27Speaker 1: sanctions standpoint, not even passing new sanctions, just enforcing the
- 14:33Speaker 1: sanctions that we already have on Iranian oil, has not
- 14:38Speaker 1: done a single thing to stop.
- 14:44Speaker 3: Or hurt or take.
- 14:46Speaker 1: Away financial financially what Iran needs to continue these types
- 14:50Speaker 1: of attacks and wars.
- 14:52Speaker 3: We have Iranian.
- 14:54Speaker 1: Oil in bargoes right now, we're just not enforcing them.
- 14:57Speaker 1: They are selling record number of barrels of oil per
- 15:00Speaker 1: day that are against the sanctions, but we're not enforcing
- 15:03Speaker 1: the sanctions. So what is the point of a sanction
- 15:06Speaker 1: if you never enforce the sanctions. That is Joe Biden,
- 15:12Speaker 1: and it's costing people their lives, It's costing instability in
- 15:16Speaker 1: the Middle East, which you never want. And we have
- 15:19Speaker 1: a president that now has opened up our southern border
- 15:21Speaker 1: to terrorists that are coming across our southern border. This
- 15:26Speaker 1: is a problem. Do I hope that this cools off?
- 15:30Speaker 3: Yes? I do. Does it look like it will at
- 15:32Speaker 3: the moment? Yes? Could it change? Of course it could.
- 15:34Speaker 3: It could change in two seconds, no doubt about it.
- 15:37Speaker 1: But what I hope is that America will get their
- 15:41Speaker 1: heads out of the rear and at some point the
- 15:43Speaker 1: Biden administration and do everything they can to actually protect
- 15:46Speaker 1: and defend this country and our ally Israel.
- 15:50Speaker 3: And I don't believe they're going to do that.
