- 1:41Speaker 3: To turn the mouth.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Turn you probably got to turn mouth, turn out the
- 1:47Speaker 1: water the water jump.
- 1:55Speaker 6: Come come on, you're think, uh huh, I sure will.
- 2:04Speaker 6: Good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice. Come on,
- 2:07Speaker 6: digney now want and only see Harvey got a radio show.
- 2:12Speaker 6: Five things that I know successful people have to do
- 2:17Speaker 6: to be successful. The principles are the same. You can
- 2:20Speaker 6: apply it to anything, you know, if you want to
- 2:23Speaker 6: be happily married, you know, whatever it is. The principles
- 2:26Speaker 6: of success are the same. There are a series of
- 2:29Speaker 6: things that you have to do. You cannot skip the
- 2:32Speaker 6: steps of success. If you do, you're going to have
- 2:35Speaker 6: to go back and step on them anyway. So here's
- 2:39Speaker 6: here's here's a part man that I want you all
- 2:42Speaker 6: to understand about me and and and and about how
- 2:45Speaker 6: to look at it. You know, you you cannot underestimate
- 2:55Speaker 6: faith and prayer, You just can't. You cannot underestimate the
- 3:03Speaker 6: power of faith and the power of prayer.
- 3:08Speaker 2: See for me. This is just for me.
- 3:10Speaker 7: Now, this ain't in the scripture nowhere. This is just
- 3:13Speaker 7: something I discovered. What prayer did for me was was
- 3:17Speaker 7: it tied me to my creator.
- 3:22Speaker 2: It gave me a sense.
- 3:25Speaker 7: And I'm describing it this way, but I'm telling you
- 3:27Speaker 7: it's deeper than this. But it gave me a sense
- 3:30Speaker 7: that I wasn't alone, and at actuality I wasn't. But
- 3:37Speaker 7: prayer helped connect me to the power source that was
- 3:42Speaker 7: available to me to get through, get around, or get
- 3:48Speaker 7: over whatever it was that was in the way, whether
- 3:53Speaker 7: it was just a period I stretched, I had to
- 3:55Speaker 7: go through hard work, It had to period I had
- 3:58Speaker 7: to go through to learn some lessons, some periods I
- 4:02Speaker 7: had to go through from having to pay for some
- 4:04Speaker 7: of the mistakes I've made.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Whatever the case may be.
- 4:07Speaker 7: Prayer gave me a decided advantage, especially oh here we go,
- 4:18Speaker 7: especially over my enemies. Now, the majority of people in
- 4:23Speaker 7: my life that were my enemies. I didn't want them
- 4:25Speaker 7: to be my enemies, make no mistake about this. But
- 4:30Speaker 7: through the thing called life, some things went down. Some
- 4:33Speaker 7: things happened from here and then went over here and
- 4:36Speaker 7: that way, and a person became my enemy. The majority
- 4:40Speaker 7: of enemies I have came out of nowhere. I have
- 4:44Speaker 7: no reason to even see why they are my enemies.
- 4:47Speaker 7: But you know, life goes on, man. It happens from
- 4:51Speaker 7: time to time. Some people just won't let it go.
- 4:54Speaker 7: See some people, in their quest to do something to
- 4:59Speaker 7: you or to make you pay, they just won't let
- 5:03Speaker 7: it go. What may cause you some discomfort, and some
- 5:06Speaker 7: of it may be lies about you and all of
- 5:09Speaker 7: this and all of that, but that that can't prohibit
- 5:12Speaker 7: you from going forward. So what I'm saying is prayer
- 5:17Speaker 7: gave me the strength, wisdom understanding the carriage to either
- 5:20Speaker 7: go through it, go around it, or go over it.
- 5:26Speaker 2: But it happened. I do not know how I could
- 5:31Speaker 2: have made it without faith and without prayer. It would have.
- 5:36Speaker 7: Something would have got me. YouTube would have got me.
- 5:42Speaker 7: The bloggers would have got me. My partners that I
- 5:48Speaker 7: grew up with, that used to laugh behind my back,
- 5:51Speaker 7: they would have got me. My friend that went over
- 5:55Speaker 7: my mother's house one time and told her, you know
- 5:58Speaker 7: what Steve's problem is, he out there telling them jokes.
- 6:01Speaker 2: He just lazy. He don't want to work.
- 6:04Speaker 1: That would have got me.
- 6:06Speaker 2: They didn't know.
- 6:08Speaker 7: I ain't really mad at them because they was just
- 6:11Speaker 7: all they was doing was based in their conversations and
- 6:14Speaker 7: passing judgment based on what they knew, based on what
- 6:18Speaker 7: they believed.
- 6:20Speaker 2: They didn't believe I was gonna make it. But that's
- 6:23Speaker 2: them though.
- 6:25Speaker 7: If it was not for faith, which is the belief
- 6:28Speaker 7: in things that you cannot see, I wouldn't have made
- 6:30Speaker 7: it because I would have listened to everybody else who
- 6:35Speaker 7: didn't see me get in here and went along with it.
- 6:40Speaker 2: And then prayer.
- 6:41Speaker 7: Oh my goodness, man, how many times has prayer bailed
- 6:45Speaker 7: me out? Prayer has bailed me out, press still bailing
- 6:50Speaker 7: me out. Tell you the truth, man, quiet as it's
- 6:54Speaker 7: kept prayer, that connection to your heavenly Father, that connection
- 7:01Speaker 7: to your creator, that connection to that source of power
- 7:05Speaker 7: and inspiration, that connection of never feeling that you were alone.
- 7:09Speaker 7: You know, I was watching the Bishop Jakes on TV
- 7:12Speaker 7: yesterday and it was a repeat and one of the
- 7:16Speaker 7: things he was talking about, well, let me just get
- 7:20Speaker 7: to the gist of it. I was going through a
- 7:24Speaker 7: portion of my life and I went through it for
- 7:28Speaker 7: some years, y'all. I had gotten myself into a jam
- 7:32Speaker 7: that lasted for years. I'm telling you, for years, with
- 7:37Speaker 7: some serious consequences to follow.
- 7:40Speaker 2: For years. And I was so busy looking at where
- 7:48Speaker 2: I was at.
- 7:51Speaker 7: I was sulking sometimes, Man, i'd get on the radio, Man,
- 7:55Speaker 7: I'd be just done.
- 7:56Speaker 2: I was sulking. My my.
- 8:01Speaker 7: Spirit had gotten low. I had gotten tired of the fight,
- 8:06Speaker 7: and I would come on some mornings, man, and I
- 8:09Speaker 7: would try try not to let on, but I was hurting.
- 8:11Speaker 7: I was because I had been in for years. Man,
- 8:14Speaker 7: I had been in this thing for years, and one
- 8:18Speaker 7: thing I was doing. I was so busy looking at
- 8:21Speaker 7: where I was at. And when I was watching Bishop Jakes,
- 8:24Speaker 7: he preached this sermon. He was talking about so busy
- 8:33Speaker 7: looking at where you at.
- 8:37Speaker 2: That you don't.
- 8:39Speaker 7: Even realize that God has been with you the entire time.
- 8:48Speaker 7: And you know what, Man, just yesterday, just yesterday, I
- 8:50Speaker 7: heard this and I text him. I text Bishop Jakes,
- 8:55Speaker 7: and I thanked him because it was an old message
- 8:57Speaker 7: I could tell. And I called him up and I said, Man,
- 9:01Speaker 7: thank you so much. I was just watching you on
- 9:03Speaker 7: TV and you told me, Man, something that I that
- 9:07Speaker 7: I'll always remember that whatever you're going through, that He's
- 9:11Speaker 7: there with you the whole time. But see when sometimes
- 9:15Speaker 7: when you're so busy looking at where you at, you
- 9:17Speaker 7: don't even notice where he is. And see sometimes, Man,
- 9:20Speaker 7: that that helped me, and that's going to help me
- 9:23Speaker 7: in the future to realize that what I'm going through,
- 9:26Speaker 7: that he's there. He's there with me, and he gonna
- 9:29Speaker 7: protect me, and he ain't gonna let my enemies overcome me,
- 9:32Speaker 7: and he ain't gonna let nobody overtake me, and he
- 9:34Speaker 7: ain't gonna let me go under because he's there.
- 9:38Speaker 2: It's just you can't be so busy looking at where
- 9:40Speaker 2: you at that you don't take notice of where he at.
- 9:42Speaker 7: God is always there, He's always available, and the best
- 9:46Speaker 7: way to tap into that and know it is you
- 9:48Speaker 7: got to pray. Prayer has changed my life. Prayer can
- 9:52Speaker 7: change your life. You can become something if you just pray.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Ladies and gentlemen, the time is here.
- 10:03Speaker 7: Another day has arrived, another blessing, another gift from God.
- 10:07Speaker 2: Man just keeps doing it over and over and over
- 10:11Speaker 2: and over and over and over and over and over and.
- 10:16Speaker 7: Over again and again and again and again, once again,
- 10:21Speaker 7: once again, one more time, or what.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Repeated me?
- 10:27Speaker 7: Same son, come up every day, same son ain't never late.
- 10:32Speaker 7: Come up, right, man, I'm amazed. Well, I'm gonna leave
- 10:35Speaker 7: y'all alone with it. I'm gonna let y'all feel how
- 10:37Speaker 7: you wanna feel. I've been trying for the past few
- 10:39Speaker 7: months here, seemed like it just stuck with a lot
- 10:43Speaker 7: of people. Some people just ain't gonna come along. He'll
- 10:45Speaker 7: be all right, don't feel better about yourself.
- 10:47Speaker 2: God is good. That's for show. That's a fact, period. Okay.

- 25:18Speaker 1: no way that I can keep dating him. How do
- 25:21Speaker 1: I break up with him without hurting him?
- 25:25Speaker 7: You ain't gonna hurt him near as much as that
- 25:27Speaker 7: bouncer did. See you gotta stop worrying about his feelings.
- 25:32Speaker 7: But see hear what you didn't put in this letter
- 25:35Speaker 7: that I'm really cuted after the bouncer slapped him, exactly
- 25:42Speaker 7: what did he do?
- 25:43Speaker 1: Exactly?
- 25:46Speaker 17: No? No, no, he did.
- 25:48Speaker 2: No, he did something. It wasn't towards a bouncer. Is
- 25:51Speaker 2: his reaction? Could have slap? I got.
- 25:58Speaker 1: She said, he whimper?
- 26:00Speaker 7: Did he tear up? He held his face though?
- 26:05Speaker 2: Did he tell y'all to go in there and let's

- 26:14Speaker 8: And?
- 26:15Speaker 7: Did did y'all go inside? And he had and he
- 26:17Speaker 7: tried to act like ain't nothing happened. Was he sitting

- 26:23Speaker 2: Just looking at it?
- 26:25Speaker 7: You can't you can't you dash after the bouncer slapped him.
- 26:30Speaker 7: That's why she's gonna you gotta just break up with him.
- 26:32Speaker 7: But he ain't fucking First of all, First of all,
- 26:35Speaker 7: two weeks he points got bad judgment because whatever made
- 26:39Speaker 7: the bounce of slap him, he had coming.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Post man.
- 26:46Speaker 7: Secondly, you don't you don't you already don't. He lacks judgment,
- 26:52Speaker 7: fine off at the wrong wall. So yeah, it's just
- 26:56Speaker 7: gonna break up with him. You're gonna hurt him a
- 26:58Speaker 7: little bit, but he used to be it hurt. He's
- 27:00Speaker 7: a hurtle type.
- 27:03Speaker 2: All right.
- 27:04Speaker 1: Last one, Clo, Last one. This is this is from
- 27:09Speaker 1: Big Sexy in Montgomery. He screamed, Big Sexy in Montgomery.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Last one, Steve said, I'm married to a woman that
- 27:23Speaker 1: is always on the phone. If she's not talking on
- 27:26Speaker 1: the phone, she's playing her games or looking on social media.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I've asked for more of her talk, more time with her,
- 27:32Speaker 1: but she's addicted to her phone. How do I get
- 27:35Speaker 1: my wife back? I don't know, You don't know.
- 27:41Speaker 2: No, I came a lot though. Yeah, that's that's yeah,
- 27:46Speaker 2: this is normal. That's all.
- 27:49Speaker 1: So you don't know what he should do, Clo.
- 27:56Speaker 7: The next question, I'm the chief love officers, Chief tech officers.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I don't know nothing about tech. I don't know, but
- 28:06Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 28:06Speaker 7: If you can get a chip removed out the phone,
- 28:08Speaker 7: get her Wi Fi block, I don't know what take
- 28:10Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 28:13Speaker 2: I don't know. Obviously, obviously it's more interesting than you are.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Yeah, he's asked for more time with her, but she
- 28:22Speaker 1: says she's addicted to her phone. I guess is like
- 28:24Speaker 1: any other addictions.
- 28:26Speaker 2: I mean, it's a lot of people that's like that.
- 28:28Speaker 8: Yeah, yeah, bonalat.
- 28:31Speaker 1: So you don't know what to tell him?
- 28:34Speaker 18: No, I don't.
- 28:35Speaker 19: I don't.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I don't have to worry about stuff like that. Should
- 28:38Speaker 2: I don't?
- 28:38Speaker 1: You know he's wife you're dealing with.
- 28:43Speaker 2: Oh no, no, no no, no, no, no no no.
- 28:45Speaker 2: My wife talked to me all the damn time. Have
- 28:49Speaker 2: to fake like I'm sleep.
- 28:50Speaker 1: Oh I got the opposite.
- 28:52Speaker 2: I direct too much, damn time. I don't have.
- 29:00Speaker 1: Well, well, okay, hopefully their marriage will survive. Coming up next,
- 29:07Speaker 1: So Collot, the top of the hour was for you
- 29:14Speaker 1: right after this. Oh, it's going to be one of
- 29:17Speaker 1: those days you're listening hard morning show. Well, according to
- 29:23Speaker 1: MSN dot Com, Anita Baker, fans in Atlanta were upset
- 29:27Speaker 1: this past Saturday when Anita canceled her show. The doors
- 29:31Speaker 1: to Anita State Farm Arena show opened to guests at
- 29:34Speaker 1: six pm and lights were expected to go down at
- 29:37Speaker 1: seven pm, but it never happened due to late unforeseen circumstances.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Tonight's and Evening with Anita Baker event featuring eight time
- 29:46Speaker 1: Grammy Award winning superstar Anita Baker, set to take place
- 29:49Speaker 1: at State Farm Arena has been canceled, was the message
- 29:53Speaker 1: the email sent out to ticket holders less than fifteen
- 29:57Speaker 1: minutes before she was expected to grace this stage. Purchasers
- 30:01Speaker 1: were guaranteed a full refund at first and out for
- 30:05Speaker 1: a confusion and disappointments spilled out into the public from
- 30:08Speaker 1: concert gores. However, compassion and grace were soon expressed by
- 30:12Speaker 1: fans who simply wanted to know just was Anita doing okay?
- 30:15Speaker 1: Was she all right?
- 30:17Speaker 17: So yeah you go.
- 30:19Speaker 1: Here's here's a question. Though, you guys perform all the
- 30:23Speaker 1: time on stage, have you ever had to cancel a
- 30:26Speaker 1: show so close to showtime? Have you ever had to
- 30:30Speaker 1: do that?
- 30:31Speaker 2: Guy?
- 30:31Speaker 7: Steve No No, all my years from stand up, I
- 30:38Speaker 7: missed two shows, one because of the plane couldn't make
- 30:42Speaker 7: it to Birmingham. I missed the first show. I ended
- 30:45Speaker 7: up doing the last two and then a show in Knoxville.
- 30:51Speaker 7: I didn't make it too old time because the car
- 30:53Speaker 7: broke down. When I was with Luther.
- 30:55Speaker 2: Luther's voice went out while he was on stage into
- 30:57Speaker 2: the first song. Yeah Yeah.
- 31:01Speaker 11: We was in Detroit and he said he said, oh no,
- 31:04Speaker 11: I can't do it tonight, and came back two weeks later.
- 31:07Speaker 11: Then people don't want their money back at all. Luther
- 31:09Speaker 11: came back two weeks later.
- 31:10Speaker 2: Wait by yeah, home run here knocked it on the
- 31:14Speaker 2: park at the park.
- 31:16Speaker 11: Wow, I told but told me, But you got to
- 31:18Speaker 11: tell some new jokes because they already told you, already
- 31:20Speaker 11: told them two weeks ago.
- 31:21Speaker 2: I said, well, I be don go. I'm the only
- 31:26Speaker 2: one gotta change.
- 31:30Speaker 1: But you rose.
- 31:32Speaker 7: Thinking about him, got to he didn't change songs. Right,
- 31:38Speaker 7: that's the difference between comedy and yeah they come here.
- 31:43Speaker 7: It hits the comedy.
- 31:43Speaker 2: You can't do that. Hell all right?
- 31:46Speaker 1: Yeah, they never said what was wrong with Anita, so
- 31:49Speaker 1: it was.
- 31:50Speaker 2: To be upset about that though.
- 31:51Speaker 7: Yeah, you send the email out fifteen minutes before we'll
- 31:56Speaker 7: go get that.
- 31:59Speaker 2: They already I'm in the venue waiting mom. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 32:05Speaker 1: This one lady. She went off on TikTok on social
- 32:07Speaker 1: media talking about Anita Bay and I.
- 32:10Speaker 7: Was like, well, first of all, you don't even know
- 32:13Speaker 7: what happened, you know. Yeah, well she doesn't have an
- 32:17Speaker 7: im castling show.
- 32:19Speaker 1: Yeah no, no right. In other news, HBO's real time
- 32:24Speaker 1: host Bill Maher thinks Donald Trump is crazy. During a
- 32:26Speaker 1: recent CBS interview, Bill Maher said, the liberals irritate him,
- 32:30Speaker 1: but the Conservatives alarm him. Take a listen.
- 32:35Speaker 19: They're very alarming. They're extremely alarming, more alarming.
- 32:40Speaker 1: What do you say to your critics, though, who say?
- 32:42Speaker 1: Then you should just focus on.
- 32:43Speaker 9: Them, Bill, If they're more alarming to you than the left,
- 32:46Speaker 9: and why not shine the spotlight on them only.
- 32:49Speaker 19: The truth isn't one sided like that. The Democrats constantly
- 32:53Speaker 19: are running against Trump with the idea you people out
- 32:58Speaker 19: there couldn't shall vote for this guy, and people are saying,
- 33:03Speaker 19: watch me, hauld my beer, watch me to vote for
- 33:06Speaker 19: him again, instead of just saying, oh, he's lying. We
- 33:11Speaker 19: know he's a liar. He's Donald Trump. He can't help himself.
- 33:15Speaker 19: He's crazy. I mean, I think literally crazy. I think
- 33:18Speaker 19: there's a kind of a level of malignant narcissism which
- 33:22Speaker 19: is not just a personality quirk. It's diagnosable and he
- 33:26Speaker 19: suffers from it.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Oh okay. Trump, of course, has repeatedly lashed out at
- 33:34Speaker 1: Bill Maher, calling him.
- 33:35Speaker 2: The worst, the worst.
- 33:37Speaker 7: Why See, if you're going to call a man the worst,
- 33:40Speaker 7: then why but if he calls him the worst, he
- 33:43Speaker 7: has a long list of why. You know, I just
- 33:48Speaker 7: I just think he's really spot on when he said
- 33:50Speaker 7: that if you think they're not going to vote for him,
- 33:53Speaker 7: because I can't believe you're going to vote for him,
- 33:54Speaker 7: they just go and watch me. And that's exactly what's happening.
- 33:59Speaker 7: And this race, this is extremely close. I mean, it's
- 34:02Speaker 7: not even a percentage point away, which is a sad,
- 34:06Speaker 7: sad statement for this country right here.
- 34:10Speaker 2: This is a this is we our country right here
- 34:14Speaker 2: at this point is just shameful at this point, it
- 34:19Speaker 2: really really is. It's just shameful.
- 34:23Speaker 7: It's ridiculous, man, that you can that you can put
- 34:26Speaker 7: forth this type of representation for your calls and your party.
- 34:30Speaker 2: And the only reason you can do that is because
- 34:32Speaker 2: you're fine with it, because that's how you really are.
- 34:34Speaker 1: And they walk amongst us, Yeah, finally, and entertainment no
- 34:38Speaker 1: where they live too. Whoopy Tobert has been married three
- 34:42Speaker 1: times and she is over marriage, she says. While doing
- 34:46Speaker 1: her press tour to promote a new memoir Bits in Pieces,
- 34:49Speaker 1: My Mother, My Brother and Me, journalist Chris Chris Wallace
- 34:53Speaker 1: asked Whoopy about her marriages. She said she does not
- 34:56Speaker 1: have energy for that kind of relationship. Whoopy went on
- 34:59Speaker 1: to say, when you're married to someone, you have to
- 35:02Speaker 1: be invested in how they're feeling. I am not, So
- 35:09Speaker 1: what do you believe is the key to a healthy,
- 35:11Speaker 1: long lasting relationship.
- 35:14Speaker 7: Come on, somebody that's been married three times, come on,
- 35:19Speaker 7: how you feel? I agree with what will be saying,
- 35:24Speaker 7: except you got to find someone who is worth being
- 35:29Speaker 7: the investment because the return is so valuable. That's the
- 35:35Speaker 7: only thing I can understand what she is because I
- 35:38Speaker 7: was sick of investing with a low return, and I'm
- 35:41Speaker 7: sure they might have felt the same way too. But
- 35:44Speaker 7: when you find somebody that's worth the investment because the
- 35:49Speaker 7: ROI the return on your investment is great, then it's
- 35:53Speaker 7: worth the investment.
- 35:54Speaker 2: And that's all it is. Just been making bad choices,
- 35:57Speaker 2: all right?
- 35:57Speaker 1: Coming up in twenty minutes after the hour. It's graduation season.
- 36:01Speaker 1: We'll talk about it right after this you're listening Morning show. Well,
- 36:06Speaker 1: student's graduation season. Whether you're graduating from high school or college,
- 36:10Speaker 1: it's a huge milestone in your life. This is a
- 36:13Speaker 1: time when students reflect on their time at school look
- 36:16Speaker 1: ahead to their future. So what advice would you give
- 36:20Speaker 1: a graduate? And part two of that question is what
- 36:23Speaker 1: advice can you give the soon to be empty nester
- 36:26Speaker 1: parents whose kids are going off to college.
- 36:29Speaker 7: Well, first of all, that empty nests ain't gonna stay
- 36:31Speaker 7: empty loan, get that out your mind.
- 36:33Speaker 2: They always and they.
- 36:34Speaker 7: Come back with old people, more people, mold people. Yeah
- 36:38Speaker 7: they have kids. Yeah, they come back with old people.
- 36:41Speaker 7: So get that out your head. My simple advice to
- 36:44Speaker 7: everybody graduating and follow your dream. Follow your dream because
- 36:49Speaker 7: your dreams may have nothing to do with your diploma.
- 36:53Speaker 7: And to get a diploma is a great accomplishment, it's
- 36:57Speaker 7: a it's magnificent. I applaud people who at their education.
- 37:00Speaker 7: I think it's notable. I think it's I think it's
- 37:04Speaker 7: really outstanding that you get education. Education is important in
- 37:09Speaker 7: so many areas of your life. I never ever knock education.
- 37:13Speaker 7: But after you get this degree, it will hang on
- 37:16Speaker 7: your wall and that's it. Nothing will matter after that
- 37:22Speaker 7: except what you do. And a lot of people have
- 37:25Speaker 7: degrees because you declared for a degree when you were younger,
- 37:30Speaker 7: three years.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Ago, two years ago, four years ago, you declared.
- 37:34Speaker 7: Now, as a full grown adult entering into the work world,
- 37:37Speaker 7: you now must be faced with the reality of this
- 37:39Speaker 7: is my life for real now and what you decided
- 37:43Speaker 7: on when you were younger four years ago may not
- 37:45Speaker 7: be the.
- 37:45Speaker 2: Route for you.
- 37:47Speaker 7: And it's okay, it's perfectly okay. But the fact that
- 37:51Speaker 7: you got a degree proves that you can accomplish a task.
- 37:55Speaker 7: And now once you know how to accomplish a task,
- 37:57Speaker 7: you can apply that to your life and get on
- 38:01Speaker 7: with it. So congratulations to everybody that's gotten an education,
- 38:04Speaker 7: everybody that's got those college degrees, high school diplomas. Now
- 38:08Speaker 7: it's down to business, because I will tell you right now,
- 38:12Speaker 7: as hard as it's been, as nothing compared to what's
- 38:16Speaker 7: going to go down.
- 38:17Speaker 2: Nothing, It ain't even close. It ain't even close. But
- 38:22Speaker 2: on the empty nestor's two different people.
- 38:25Speaker 11: Now after all them years gone by, with the kids,
- 38:28Speaker 11: there are the empty nestors.
- 38:30Speaker 2: Two different people.
- 38:31Speaker 7: When all the kids are gone, well, your life has changed,
- 38:33Speaker 7: and now there's an adjustment that's going to be made.
- 38:36Speaker 7: Because sometimes the kids were a welcome distraction, but now
- 38:41Speaker 7: that they are gone.
- 38:42Speaker 2: You will find out.
- 38:43Speaker 7: I know a guy that's struggling right now in his
- 38:45Speaker 7: marriage because they're an empty nestor. And now his wife
- 38:49Speaker 7: has no identity. She don't know what to do because
- 38:53Speaker 7: because that was her life, and now she's clinging and
- 38:57Speaker 7: he and he trying to help her find a hobby
- 39:00Speaker 7: and and it ain't working and they're struggling right now.
- 39:03Speaker 2: Wow, that's real. It's a sit doll, the empty message
- 39:09Speaker 2: right here. Yeah, it's a picture all right.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Coming up at thirty four minutes after the hour. We
- 39:19Speaker 1: will check your voicemail Steve eight seven seven twenty nine, Steve,
- 39:23Speaker 1: right after this listening and it's time now to check
- 39:27Speaker 1: Steve's voicemails eight seven seven twenty nine, Steve. If you
- 39:31Speaker 1: want to leave a message for Steve, you you might
- 39:33Speaker 1: want to call him and you can hear your call
- 39:36Speaker 1: on the air. Maybe, So are you ready, Steve, Yes, Okay,
- 39:40Speaker 1: we have called from We have a call from William
- 39:43Speaker 1: from North Carolina.
- 39:45Speaker 2: Hey, Steve.
- 39:46Speaker 16: This is William North Carolina. I just want black people
- 39:49Speaker 16: to wake up and realize that whether they know it
- 39:52Speaker 16: or not, they just renamed the schools in Virginia back
- 39:55Speaker 16: to Confederate soldiers and generals and stuff, but they don't
- 39:59Speaker 16: want to teach it history and stuff in schools. So
- 40:02Speaker 16: I'm just saying people, we need to wake up, start voting,
- 40:06Speaker 16: and watch cause they're trying to make it great again,
- 40:09Speaker 16: back to the times when they were on top and
- 40:11Speaker 16: we were fact struggling. That's all I want to say.
- 40:14Speaker 16: Y'all be blessed, love y'all firm whistler for twenty years
- 40:18Speaker 16: by Well, let.
- 40:19Speaker 2: Me tell you something, man, You're exactly right. That's what's
- 40:22Speaker 2: going on.
- 40:23Speaker 7: And they're reversing everything because this make America Great Again campaign.
- 40:29Speaker 2: The scary part.
- 40:30Speaker 7: That's why all you blacks who are talking about voting
- 40:32Speaker 7: for Trump, I don't even understand if you understand what
- 40:36Speaker 7: that mega hat means make America great again. They want
- 40:41Speaker 7: to take America back to a time when it was
- 40:44Speaker 7: greatest for them. That will not include you, as does
- 40:49Speaker 7: neither does today. So now when you see them reversing
- 40:54Speaker 7: the names of schools and putting Confederate names back on schools.
- 40:59Speaker 7: But you see them racing black history from schools. They're
- 41:02Speaker 7: starting at the educational level. Like I told you before earlier.
- 41:06Speaker 7: Education is important. But if you're not self educated about
- 41:10Speaker 7: who you are, you can lose your value and self love.
- 41:13Speaker 7: And that's what being one of our biggest problems as
- 41:15Speaker 7: a people. We don't know who we really are. We
- 41:18Speaker 7: do not know that we are from kings and queens.
- 41:20Speaker 7: We keep stopping at slavery, but if you knew your
- 41:26Speaker 7: real history, we are from the Valley of Kings, Yes, sir,
- 41:31Speaker 7: we are the original civilation to civilization. We are where
- 41:36Speaker 7: that mankind was created. Everybody in the Bible look like us.
- 41:43Speaker 7: Everybody they they don't want to tell you that, but
- 41:46Speaker 7: you can go back that far. All right, next caller,
- 41:50Speaker 7: all right, thank you.
- 41:52Speaker 1: William Chari from Philly has a question about addressing older
- 41:55Speaker 1: people respectfully.
- 42:00Speaker 10: Calling from Silly.
- 42:02Speaker 18: I just want to know at what age do you
- 42:05Speaker 18: continue to call someone miss or mister, Like like, if
- 42:11Speaker 18: I met you in personal, I would say mister Harvey,
- 42:15Speaker 18: but if I'm talking about you amongst friends, I'd be
- 42:19Speaker 18: like Steve. Steve had me cracking up. So what is
- 42:23Speaker 18: the appropriate age. Do you think to call someone mister
- 42:28Speaker 18: or missus? Thank you?
- 42:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I think that's great and what you're doing is
- 42:32Speaker 2: the right way. But like when I meet people who
- 42:35Speaker 2: are of.
- 42:36Speaker 7: My same age or older, I always refer to in
- 42:40Speaker 7: the sir, ma'am, mister missus, always out of respect because
- 42:47Speaker 7: they've been on this earth long enough they deserve respect. Now,
- 42:51Speaker 7: when you talk about me, your friend Steve had me
- 42:53Speaker 7: cracking up. That's cool, you know, it's cool. My name

- 43:13Speaker 7: do you not see me standing here? But this gray
- 43:16Speaker 7: stubble on my face? Do you not see me standing here?
- 43:22Speaker 7: And and just you know, but that comes from home training.
- 43:25Speaker 7: You happen to have it, and most people don't.

- 54:42Speaker 1: herself go in a lot of ways. I know you're
- 54:45Speaker 1: going to say I'm being petty and I might be
- 54:47Speaker 1: the one with the problem, but check this out. Whenever
- 54:50Speaker 1: my wife and I are about to be intimate, I
- 54:52Speaker 1: encourage her to take a nice bubble bass to get
- 54:55Speaker 1: in the mood. I have to do that for more
- 54:57Speaker 1: reasons than one. When she's going walking with the other ladies,
- 55:01Speaker 1: I suggest that she wear a baseball cap instead of
- 55:04Speaker 1: her hairscarf that she wears to bed every night. I
- 55:07Speaker 1: ordered her exercise clothes so she will stop walking in
- 55:10Speaker 1: my big T shirt and her old jogging pants with
- 55:13Speaker 1: holes in them. I want her to present herself better
- 55:16Speaker 1: than that when she's waving at our neighbors as she
- 55:19Speaker 1: walks by. I have asked her if she realizes her
- 55:22Speaker 1: nails are grown out and need to be redone, and
- 55:24Speaker 1: she's told me that they're fine since she doesn't have
- 55:27Speaker 1: plans to go anywhere. Same with the toenails, because she
- 55:30Speaker 1: stopped trimming them herself. Maybe I'm being too hard on her.
- 55:34Speaker 1: But I want her to be my cute, sexy wife
- 55:36Speaker 1: at all times. And if I have to keep reminding
- 55:39Speaker 1: her to do certain things to maintain herself, it's a problem.
- 55:43Speaker 1: Why do I have to tell her to bathe? Am
- 55:45Speaker 1: I wrong for how I feel? Please help? Well, No,
- 55:48Speaker 1: you're not wrong. How you feel is how you feel.
- 55:51Speaker 1: And if your wife is not bathing bathing, you have
- 55:55Speaker 1: an obligation as her husband to tell her period. I mean,
- 55:58Speaker 1: that's not being paddy. Now why she's not bathing is
- 56:02Speaker 1: a whole other issue. It sounds like just plain laziness
- 56:06Speaker 1: at this point. She works from home now see, and
- 56:11Speaker 1: has nowhere to go, so she doesn't feel the need
- 56:14Speaker 1: or the purpose of doing anything like getting dressed or
- 56:17Speaker 1: getting her hair done or getting her nails done. That
- 56:20Speaker 1: requires a lot of effort for nowhere to go and
- 56:23Speaker 1: nothing to do. And I'm just going to say she's
- 56:25Speaker 1: stuck right now. She really is. She's kind of in
- 56:28Speaker 1: a rut. She's stuck. But she has to remember that
- 56:32Speaker 1: men have egos, they're visual, so please, you know, this
- 56:36Speaker 1: could lead into other things like, you know, causing him
- 56:41Speaker 1: to cheat or giving him a reason to cheat, and
- 56:43Speaker 1: that's what you don't want him to do. Not keeping
- 56:47Speaker 1: yourself is reason enough for some men not to cheat
- 56:50Speaker 1: if you don't keep yourself up. Marriage is work, we
- 56:53Speaker 1: all know that, and part of that work is not
- 56:55Speaker 1: letting yourself go. So you husband, I need you to
- 57:00Speaker 1: start planning some date nights, some dinners out, get back
- 57:03Speaker 1: to doing things with friends outside of the house, so
- 57:06Speaker 1: your wife will have a reason to get dressed and
- 57:09Speaker 1: start feeling good about herself again.
- 57:11Speaker 2: Steve, Wow, Surely, great answer, great answer, great answer.
- 57:18Speaker 7: I am going to disagree with damn near everything you
- 57:23Speaker 7: said because I think we need to have a counter
- 57:27Speaker 7: to this. Surely, your answers are always pretty much close
- 57:30Speaker 7: to the vest, and you know you're more. You know,
- 57:35Speaker 7: you know you try to be more. I guess diplomatic
- 57:39Speaker 7: in your responses. On the other hand, that ain't my job.
- 57:46Speaker 7: That ain't my job.
- 57:48Speaker 2: So I will show you what my job is.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Do your job.
- 57:54Speaker 7: I've been married thirteen years and my wife and I
- 57:56Speaker 7: work from home. So he do food deliveries two nights
- 58:00Speaker 7: week so he can give his wife some space, and
- 58:02Speaker 7: she go walking in the daytime with her ladies to
- 58:05Speaker 7: give him some space. Since they work from home. They
- 58:10Speaker 7: tied each other yeah, see that space. Even though everybody
- 58:17Speaker 7: needs space. I don't care who you are, everybody needs space.
- 58:22Speaker 7: But you're trying to get out of the man, and
- 58:25Speaker 7: she trying to get out of that. And I understand
- 58:28Speaker 7: that because y'all working from home, y'all around each other
- 58:31Speaker 7: all the time.
- 58:32Speaker 2: Eh.
- 58:35Speaker 7: Now she goes walking with the ladies in our neighborhood
- 58:38Speaker 7: to give me space. And I love the fact that
- 58:40Speaker 7: she's lost weight and kept it off, and so have I.
- 58:44Speaker 7: We don't have sex like we used to. Nobody does, sir,
- 58:48Speaker 7: but we still have the best chemistry. Everything would seem
- 58:53Speaker 7: to be great with us, but it's not.
- 58:56Speaker 1: And why is it not?
- 58:57Speaker 7: Because my wife to let herself go in a lot
- 59:00Speaker 7: of ways. Let me stop right here. If a man
- 59:04Speaker 7: writes into a radio show, he and his wits in.
- 59:11Speaker 7: Men don't write in seeking help unless they really need help.
- 59:17Speaker 2: He over this here, this little routine she pulling. He
- 59:21Speaker 2: done with her.
- 59:24Speaker 7: Now, Like he said, some people be talking about, well,
- 59:27Speaker 7: you got to be the problem. You love your wife
- 59:29Speaker 7: the way she is. I don't know who keep telling
- 59:30Speaker 7: you all that, you know, especially when women say a
- 59:33Speaker 7: man have to take me as I am. No, he
- 59:35Speaker 7: don't that ain't in our book nowhere. Whenever my wife
- 59:39Speaker 7: and I about to be intimate, I encourage her to
- 59:42Speaker 7: take a nice bubble bath to get in the mood.
- 59:44Speaker 2: I have to do that for more reasons than one.
- 59:47Speaker 2: Now he's trying to be nice right here.
- 59:51Speaker 7: I try to encourage her to take a bubble bath
- 59:55Speaker 7: to get in the mood for more reasons than one. Now,
- 59:58Speaker 7: a man don't want to out it wife, But we
- 1:00:02Speaker 7: all know what that means.
- 1:00:06Speaker 2: You you done walked? Come on now, friction, Come on now,
- 1:00:12Speaker 2: you up in hill.
- 1:00:17Speaker 19: Lot?
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: It got hot? All right?
- 1:00:23Speaker 1: Hang on your response? Uh uh? Coming up on twenty
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: three minutes after today's Strawberry letter, subject my wife used
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: to keep herself up. We'll get back into it right
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: after this. You're listening morning show, all right, Come on, Steve,
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: let's recap today's strawberry letter. The subject is my wife
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: used to keep herself up?
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:00:46Speaker 7: This is a letter about a man who won't been
- 1:00:48Speaker 7: married thirteen years, and they work from home, so they
- 1:00:50Speaker 7: run each other all the time.
- 1:00:51Speaker 2: They need some space.
- 1:00:52Speaker 7: He makes food deliveries twice a week at night to
- 1:00:55Speaker 7: give her some space, and she go walking with the
- 1:00:57Speaker 7: ladies in the neighborhood. Give him some space. Everybody needs space. Uh,
- 1:01:02Speaker 7: you know, when they intimate, they don't have sex like
- 1:01:04Speaker 7: they used to. But when they intimate, the chemistry still there.
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: And then I say, you know, but now here go
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: the problem. Whenever we about to be intimate, I encourage
- 1:01:15Speaker 7: her to take a bubble bath to get in the mood.
- 1:01:19Speaker 7: I have to do that for more reasons than one.
- 1:01:22Speaker 7: First of all, let me tell you something. Men don't
- 1:01:24Speaker 7: need a bubble bath to get in the mood. Something
- 1:01:27Speaker 7: is wrong here, Something is wrong. I ain't ever got
- 1:01:32Speaker 7: ready to go in there and say, baby, you won't
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: go on in there and take a bubble bath now,
- 1:01:38Speaker 7: because I don't need nothing to cause you to change
- 1:01:40Speaker 7: your mind. If we here now, it looks like it's
- 1:01:44Speaker 7: popping off. In the words of Marvin Gate, let's get
- 1:01:49Speaker 7: it home, baby, Come on all right now. Now you
- 1:01:55Speaker 7: have to encourage her to take a nice bubble bath
- 1:01:58Speaker 7: for more reasons than one, because she y'all walking with
- 1:02:01Speaker 7: them ladies, see friction?
- 1:02:05Speaker 2: Are you free now here? We are? We need to
- 1:02:11Speaker 2: get in this water.
- 1:02:13Speaker 7: Then, he says, I suggest she wear a baseball cap
- 1:02:18Speaker 7: on her head instead of that hassk off that she
- 1:02:23Speaker 7: wear the bed every night. And hold on, Hold up now,
- 1:02:25Speaker 7: now this scarf is doing double duty. We all know
- 1:02:28Speaker 7: about that scarf. It's y'all's favorite. It's the one you
- 1:02:33Speaker 7: won't It's a silk scarf, keeps your hand place and
- 1:02:37Speaker 7: keeps it from breaking off.
- 1:02:40Speaker 2: But you can't wear it that night and all day too,
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: and then wrap it in a night This too much
- 1:02:48Speaker 2: back in the day when you had the sofa ad
- 1:02:50Speaker 2: and the glover's main you know, stuff like that.
- 1:02:53Speaker 7: You know it's tied right here, this thing bergamont Ulch
- 1:02:56Speaker 7: machine pro line.
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: You know, it just was just wrong. It was just wrong,
- 1:03:02Speaker 2: you know, sporting waves all this here.
- 1:03:07Speaker 7: Now, I ordered her some expensive I ordered her some
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: exercise clothes so she can stop walking in my big
- 1:03:12Speaker 7: T shirt and old jogging pants with holes in them.
- 1:03:16Speaker 7: Because I want her to present herself better than that
- 1:03:19Speaker 7: when she waving at our neighbors as she walked by.
- 1:03:22Speaker 7: Because a man's job is to protect and provide. He
- 1:03:25Speaker 7: protected his image, her image. He provides her with new
- 1:03:30Speaker 7: workout clothes so she can walk by and look more decent.
- 1:03:34Speaker 7: I have asked her if she realizes that her nails
- 1:03:36Speaker 7: have grown out and they need to be redone. She
- 1:03:40Speaker 7: told me they find since she don't have plans to
- 1:03:43Speaker 7: go anywhere, Sureley said, And then she said same with
- 1:03:47Speaker 7: the toeenails. Because she stopped trimming herself. Shirley said, she's lazy.
- 1:03:53Speaker 7: This is not lazy. This is trifling. There's a different,
- 1:04:00Speaker 7: it's between lazy and trifling. Then she said, maybe we
- 1:04:08Speaker 7: ought to take out on date night.
- 1:04:10Speaker 2: Anybody taking her?
- 1:04:11Speaker 7: No, damn well, you got these claws on your hands
- 1:04:17Speaker 7: and feet, you looking like an ego snatching a fish
- 1:04:20Speaker 7: up out of lake.
- 1:04:22Speaker 2: And now you think I'm finna get you dressed up
- 1:04:24Speaker 2: and we going somewhere. We ain't gonna know where. I'm
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: gonna tell you what's really wrong. Maybe I'm being too hard.
- 1:04:31Speaker 7: On her, but I want her to be my cute,
- 1:04:32Speaker 7: sexy wife at all times, and I have to keep
- 1:04:35Speaker 7: reminding her to do certain things to maintain herself as
- 1:04:38Speaker 7: a problem, Why do I have to tell her to bathe?
- 1:04:42Speaker 7: Am I wrong for how I feel? Please help? No,
- 1:04:45Speaker 7: you're not wrong for how you feel. Everybody want the
- 1:04:48Speaker 7: girl to be fresh. Most men's wives are cleaner than them.
- 1:04:54Speaker 7: Most women that I've seen and met, they really in
- 1:04:57Speaker 7: the up take, care of their business. Women for the
- 1:05:01Speaker 7: most part, man, they know how to put it on.
- 1:05:04Speaker 7: I very rarely see women that ain't trying to do right.
- 1:05:08Speaker 7: I just don't yours.
- 1:05:10Speaker 2: Then gave up.
- 1:05:13Speaker 7: To say ladyness just trifling, and she being a little
- 1:05:16Speaker 7: bit trifling right now. But I'm gonna tell you what
- 1:05:19Speaker 7: the real reason is. Shirley says she's stuck. She's not stuck.
- 1:05:27Speaker 7: She has taken him and the marriage for granted. And
- 1:05:34Speaker 7: that is what I talk to women about all the time.
- 1:05:38Speaker 7: The thing that hurts a man most of all is
- 1:05:40Speaker 7: when we get taken for granted and we are not appreciated. Now,
- 1:05:45Speaker 7: if you got a man that's out here working, you
- 1:05:48Speaker 7: got a man buying you new exercise coach. You got
- 1:05:50Speaker 7: a man in here wanting you to take a bath,
- 1:05:52Speaker 7: reminding you to clip your toenails, to clip your This
- 1:05:56Speaker 7: man is doing all he can. But you are sitting
- 1:06:00Speaker 7: up there thinking, you my husband, you ain't going nowhere.
- 1:06:06Speaker 7: So now you've taken your marriage and your man for granted.
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: Come on here.
- 1:06:12Speaker 7: And so now once you take us for granted and
- 1:06:15Speaker 7: you stop showing appreciation, you stop fixing up the package,
- 1:06:19Speaker 7: Well I got news for you, oh, I'm gonna tell
- 1:06:23Speaker 7: you right now, he looking around. He ain't just wrote
- 1:06:25Speaker 7: this letter because he trying to stop the wandering eyes
- 1:06:28Speaker 7: he got. Because he looking round, he's seeing what put
- 1:06:31Speaker 7: together look like. Y'all got ig, sir? Just hit that
- 1:06:35Speaker 7: little circle that say search Lord Hemberson. That's what he's seeing,
- 1:06:41Speaker 7: all right, And that's what your comments.
- 1:06:45Speaker 2: Are you gonna lose health? Period? Yeah?

- 1:08:14Speaker 1: I thought you from about everybody just called this his
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: name so long. I'm sorry, but he's the leading scorer
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: on Oklahoma forst.
- 1:08:20Speaker 11: Caster know that kind of stuff, spts, you don't know

- 1:08:34Speaker 1: Uh, did we start packing it up?
- 1:08:36Speaker 8: Now?
- 1:08:37Speaker 2: You said Boston falls to Cleveland.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: Now I said Boston b Cleveland. Cleveland falls Boston.
- 1:08:42Speaker 7: That ain't what you said, But I know what you meant.
- 1:08:45Speaker 7: You said, Boston falls to Cleveland. I'm sorry Cleveland faster
- 1:08:50Speaker 7: Boston one on nine to one. I guess I'm wrong
- 1:08:52Speaker 7: about that too, hung tummy falling off Now, No, I
- 1:08:59Speaker 7: was talking. He went from high level sports cast and
- 1:09:02Speaker 7: all of a sudden, bad information.

- 1:09:06Speaker 1: Austin beats Cleveland one on NW, one on two. They
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: take a three to one lead in the series. Do

- 1:09:12Speaker 7: Well, see Donovan Mitchell didn't play, He didn't play. They

- 1:10:08Speaker 2: Speed is different.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: Yahya. There you go, Shirley, thank you. Coming up at
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: the top of the hour, a man on social media
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: needs some advice, Steve. He says, my daughter is getting
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: bad dating advice from her cousin. We'll talk about it
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening, Harvey Morning show. All right,
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: so this is from Dwayne on Steve Harvey FM. Dwayne says,
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: I overheard my daughter and her cousin discussing dating, and
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: I was disturbed about the advice that was being given. Apparently,
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: my daughter, who was in her first year of college,
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: was given off bougie and exclusionary behavior. Her cousin said
- 1:10:45Speaker 1: that instead she should be open to going out with anyone,
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: because hey, at least it's a free meal, right. I
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: don't know which is worse, being viewed as a bougie
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: snob or being encouraged to just go out with anyone
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: for anything. I know, I wasn't supposed to eavesdrop, but
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: it's hard to bite my tongue on this one. Should
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: I say something or should I let it go?
- 1:11:05Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 1:11:06Speaker 7: Yeah, you should definitely say something, because see what we've
- 1:11:09Speaker 7: got to stop and keep presenting to our young girls
- 1:11:11Speaker 7: is it's not buogy of being a snob. It's called standards,
- 1:11:16Speaker 7: and it's okay to have some See what they do now,
- 1:11:20Speaker 7: is they got it where young girls can't even have standards.
- 1:11:24Speaker 7: If you got standards, then all of a sudden, you bullgey,
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: you snop me girl. This is a free meal. I
- 1:11:30Speaker 7: don't need no damn free food. My daddy feeds me
- 1:11:33Speaker 7: at the house. Ladies, you don't need free food. If
- 1:11:37Speaker 7: it didn't got that bad for you, you need to
- 1:11:40Speaker 7: get into a shelter or something.
- 1:11:42Speaker 2: You going out just cause it's some free food.
- 1:11:44Speaker 7: I'm gonna go out to a meal with somebody that
- 1:11:46Speaker 7: ain't no good, that wants to use me for one purpose,
- 1:11:50Speaker 7: so I can find a way to get this free
- 1:11:52Speaker 7: food and then avoid him. Man, miss me, Man, have
- 1:11:55Speaker 7: a talk with your young sister, because she will get
- 1:11:57Speaker 7: an idea of what love is from you more so
- 1:12:00Speaker 7: than what's out there.
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: All right, all right, we have a Leonard on Facebook.
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: We do have time for another one, he says. We
- 1:12:09Speaker 1: all know. Mother's Day was this past Sunday, and I
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: laid it out for my wife, Tommy and Junior. She
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: is an amazing mother to our kids. I really put
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: some thought into her gift and she loved it. That
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: being said, now Father's Day is coming in June, and
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: I started to feel a bit played over the last
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: couple of years. That's because she'll ask me what I
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: would like and I tell her, but I still always
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: end up getting a gift card at low's or home depot,
- 1:12:39Speaker 1: which essentially tells me, I love you, Now get to
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: work on the house. Is it wrong for me to
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: have growing feelings of bitterness about this? How should I
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: handle this?
- 1:12:50Speaker 2: Yes?
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: We all been about Father's already, know it's coming. Nothing
- 1:13:00Speaker 7: not a thing? Yeah trifling? Yeah yeah yeah, by your own.
- 1:13:06Speaker 11: Father's Day gift, man, celebrate yourself, that's what you do.
- 1:13:11Speaker 2: Already know what I want for Father's Day? What do
- 1:13:14Speaker 2: you want?
- 1:13:14Speaker 7: I'm just gonna put it out there. I'll tell you
- 1:13:16Speaker 7: off the air, but I already know what I want.
- 1:13:19Speaker 17: Now.
- 1:13:19Speaker 2: She's done some amazing stuff for me, but my kids don't.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: And all I'm working.
- 1:13:26Speaker 7: I just want to send a message out to the
- 1:13:29Speaker 7: can we got the level of triflingness over the years
- 1:13:34Speaker 7: that my children have exhibited the level of triflingness with
- 1:13:40Speaker 7: no longer no longer be accepted. What No, I'm not
- 1:13:47Speaker 7: gonna accept it because now I'm gonna take your birthday
- 1:13:50Speaker 7: and treat you the same way you treat me on my.
- 1:13:54Speaker 2: Birthday and on Father's Day as good as damn Dad.
- 1:13:58Speaker 7: As I didn't been, you would think, come on, they
- 1:14:03Speaker 7: would all get together and buy something that's worth for
- 1:14:08Speaker 7: damn just something. But you know, I'll tell you what's
- 1:14:15Speaker 7: trifling about Father's Day. You know, Mother's Day they have
- 1:14:18Speaker 7: a whole isle full of card. Father's Day is two columns,
- 1:14:22Speaker 7: not it is? It is two columns. Yeah, I'm telling y'all,
- 1:14:27Speaker 7: y'all don't even pay no attention. It ain't but two columns.
- 1:14:29Speaker 7: I didn't got the same damn card before, a duplicate.
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: I didn't got the same damn card before.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: Oh yeah, but.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: You're not trying to compare Father's Day to Mother's Day, now,
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: are you. No?
- 1:14:48Speaker 7: No, not at all, not at all, But damn, I
- 1:14:53Speaker 7: just want to be in the vicinity. Quit having the day. Wait, okay,
- 1:15:00Speaker 7: y'all doing us o father date, Stop having fall this date.
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: We'll have more of this Steve Harvey Morning Show coming
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: up twenty minutes after. Right after this, you're listening Steve
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. A San Francisco, California woman has been
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: convicted of stealing over sixty thousand dollars in merchandise from
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: the same Target store dozens of times by using the
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: self checkout lanes. During the investigation, authorities followed and surveilled
- 1:15:31Speaker 1: the suspect after leading Target with the unmade merchandise and
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: observed her selling the stolen goods to anyone passing by.
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: A trial by jury took place, and the woman was
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: convicted of one felony count of grand theft and violation
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: and fifty two misdemeanor counts of petty theft from target.
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: She could be sentenced to three years in state prison. Wow,
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: so she used the self checkout lane. We've kind of
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: talked about this before. Do you guys use the self
- 1:16:01Speaker 1: checkout laying at all or you go through a cashier?
- 1:16:03Speaker 2: No, I'll use a self checkout line. They didn't have
- 1:16:06Speaker 2: that one. I was going to the stuff.
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: We're talking about today in twenty twenty four.
- 1:16:11Speaker 2: Current He ain't been to the store.
- 1:16:12Speaker 1: Yeah, that's right. You haven't been to the store this
- 1:16:17Speaker 1: year one. And I've been to a store.
- 1:16:20Speaker 7: I've been to Bass Pro shopping, but I check out
- 1:16:23Speaker 7: in the back back there with the fishing stuff.
- 1:16:25Speaker 2: I never go up to the front because you're famous.
- 1:16:28Speaker 7: Well, I mean they've got cash register right there. Oh,
- 1:16:31Speaker 7: at all bands Pro shops, I just check out in
- 1:16:33Speaker 7: the fish department.
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: I don't go with a live cashier.
- 1:16:36Speaker 2: Okay, you've been to the grocery store. Uh, huh to do?
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: What to get?
- 1:16:42Speaker 2: That's what we do, all right, it's regular life.
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: Right problems coming up with? Thirty three minutes after we
- 1:16:54Speaker 1: I threw a play around and would you rather right
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: after the you're listening morning show, it's time now for
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: a round of would you rather? Would you rather accidentally
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: call your partner by your ex's name or would you
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: rather have your partner call you by their excess name?
- 1:17:13Speaker 1: Which one?
- 1:17:15Speaker 7: Oh, No, it's gonna work out way safer by savans name.
- 1:17:19Speaker 2: It's gonna work out way really, Yeah, I would have
- 1:17:22Speaker 2: to go to that route.
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: I call your partner by your ex's name.
- 1:17:27Speaker 2: Yeah, yes, she can't holler somebody else names that can help.
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: That part can out now, but you can call her
- 1:17:36Speaker 1: by her by your exus. I'm like, are you gots insane?
- 1:17:42Speaker 5: Right now?
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: You can't call you name? What's gonna happen? Before have
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: What's gonna happen if they do? She accidentally calls you?
- 1:17:55Speaker 2: Started?
- 1:17:56Speaker 10: We have questions when we start now, I'm like, say
- 1:18:00Speaker 10: stuff happened.
- 1:18:02Speaker 2: First of all, we don't finish. I ain't gonna just stop.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: You're talking about a.
- 1:18:15Speaker 2: Stop it.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: Afterwards, then you'll deal with it. Come on see if
- 1:18:21Speaker 1: you have a perplexed look on your face.
- 1:18:24Speaker 2: What, No, it's just it just it can't happen that way.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: It just can't.
- 1:18:28Speaker 7: I would rather call my ex's name, yeah, and just
- 1:18:32Speaker 7: deal with that. No, well you know that's you asked them.
- 1:18:37Speaker 7: Would you rather the three men?
- 1:18:39Speaker 8: Yes?
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: So you don't want to be called someone else's name?
- 1:18:45Speaker 2: All right?
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: Would you rather be the center of attention or would
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: you rather go unnoticed? Hmmm? Like, well, Julia answer the question, Well,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: I'd rather go unnotice?
- 1:19:02Speaker 2: Yeah, I really. Okay.
- 1:19:04Speaker 7: Well, hey man, I'm gona tell you right now, you
- 1:19:06Speaker 7: can get off this radio. You can pack your little
- 1:19:08Speaker 7: career on up. That ain't what we're doing over here.
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: No, I'm just saying it's not like that.
- 1:19:13Speaker 2: It's just like you know what it is. Yeah, well okay,
- 1:19:20Speaker 2: so when you're going.
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: You want to be the center of attention?
- 1:19:26Speaker 2: Yes, oh we are. Yeah we do a show. Yeah
- 1:19:29Speaker 2: you're gonna be there that now. But you need to
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: make up your mind.
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: Now, what was just was you rather? I'm just well
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: I'm not real life?
- 1:19:38Speaker 2: Yeah? Okay, what about you? Yeah? What you set of attention? Though?
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: All day? Ain't that?
- 1:19:45Speaker 7: Nothing do by that?
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: But sometimes you don't want to just go unnoticed.
- 1:19:50Speaker 7: I would love to go on there. Yeah, but if
- 1:19:54Speaker 7: you stay unnoticed, you're gonna have to sell all this stuff.
- 1:20:01Speaker 1: Famous fame has its privileges. All right, that's today's rounded,
- 1:20:12Speaker 1: would you rather? Guys? Coming up at forty nine minutes
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: after the hour, we'll have our last break of the
- 1:20:17Speaker 1: day and we'll close out the show with one and
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: only Steve Harvey right after this. You're listening Steve Harvey
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: Morning Show. All right, guys, here we are last break
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: of the day on this Tuesday, and Steve, before we
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: get out of here, we did have another call. This
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: one's from MD. Take a listen.
- 1:20:35Speaker 17: My name is MD. I'm calling about the guy we
- 1:20:39Speaker 17: talk about not to vote. You were all right, and
- 1:20:42Speaker 17: you were being polite, says Ignorant. For me, he's stupid,
- 1:20:45Speaker 17: playing stupid man, because I come here as a foreigner.
- 1:20:49Speaker 17: And when I came here, I went back to school
- 1:20:52Speaker 17: and I study modern history, rural history and nineteen history,
- 1:20:57Speaker 17: and that's when I know about Malcolm X Martin, King,
- 1:21:00Speaker 17: Luther Juner, and also Rosa Park and the history behind it.
- 1:21:05Speaker 8: Man.
- 1:21:06Speaker 17: And in ninety nine I get my citizenship and I
- 1:21:10Speaker 17: start to vote from ever since man, voting, we have
- 1:21:14Speaker 17: to vote.
- 1:21:15Speaker 2: I went to the.
- 1:21:16Speaker 17: Barber shop and I speak history, and these guys were
- 1:21:19Speaker 17: looking at my life. Wait the hell, I say, get
- 1:21:21Speaker 17: all these stuff from? And I said, man, you guys
- 1:21:23Speaker 17: don't study history in high school. They'll be like no,
- 1:21:26Speaker 17: I said, man, God, you guys missing out man, But
- 1:21:29Speaker 17: love your show, Love the crew. Big up June on
- 1:21:32Speaker 17: his point, Man, I like that. I'm from Jamaica, so
- 1:21:36Speaker 17: you know it is. I know you guys talk about
- 1:21:38Speaker 17: a stale all the time. Keep it up, man, you
- 1:21:40Speaker 17: guys good.
- 1:21:42Speaker 7: Yeah, you know man, indeed, you know what he said
- 1:21:46Speaker 7: is so important, which leads to my closing remarks. You know,
- 1:21:50Speaker 7: I've hated that this election has come because this election
- 1:21:55Speaker 7: is the most decisive, divisive, divisive that.
- 1:21:58Speaker 2: We've had ever.
- 1:22:00Speaker 7: Every time Trump runs, it becomes divisive. You know, We've
- 1:22:04Speaker 7: always had Republican presidents. We've had Nixon in my lifetime,
- 1:22:10Speaker 7: We've had you know, the Bushes in my lifetime. You know,
- 1:22:16Speaker 7: we've had Reagan in my lifetime. I've really really never
- 1:22:20Speaker 7: really had a problem with them. You know, some of
- 1:22:23Speaker 7: their policies were different, But I understand that it's gonna
- 1:22:27Speaker 7: be some differences, but never before in my lifetime have
- 1:22:31Speaker 7: I seen this, the types of people that come out
- 1:22:35Speaker 7: the woodwork for Donald Trump, the people that he draw
- 1:22:39Speaker 7: out from the shadows in this country. I'm really grateful
- 1:22:43Speaker 7: to Donald Trump because he has exposed the underbelly of America,
- 1:22:49Speaker 7: the one that slithers on the ground, that stays covered
- 1:22:52Speaker 7: under the bushes and the grasses that's down there making
- 1:22:55Speaker 7: all the snake bites and secret covert attacks. He's bought
- 1:22:58Speaker 7: them all out. They front and centernine, and they try
- 1:23:03Speaker 7: to come up with stuff. Every time somebody come up.
- 1:23:05Speaker 7: They don't want to run. Here come the Tea Party,
- 1:23:08Speaker 7: Here come Qanone, Here come all these groups. All these
- 1:23:12Speaker 7: groups raise up. The militia shows up, the Proud Boys
- 1:23:16Speaker 7: shows up, the Skinhead shows up, the National Party shows up.
- 1:23:21Speaker 2: They just the Southern Evangelicals show up.
- 1:23:25Speaker 7: And that was a little bit more surprising to me
- 1:23:28Speaker 7: that I found out that this religious organization was really
- 1:23:32Speaker 7: not religious at all, but political, That Southern Evangelicals were
- 1:23:37Speaker 7: created to support slavery. See when I went to the
- 1:23:40Speaker 7: slave castles in the outside of Ghana, which one of
- 1:23:44Speaker 7: the most revealing moments, and I saw the dungeons in
- 1:23:49Speaker 7: which they kept the slaves in for weeks before they
- 1:23:51Speaker 7: put them on the ship. And each doorway that led
- 1:23:55Speaker 7: to the following room, like they moved you from room
- 1:23:57Speaker 7: to room, each doorway was a little bit more narrower
- 1:24:01Speaker 7: than the other one, and they kept you in there
- 1:24:03Speaker 7: until you lost enough weight, until you could go through
- 1:24:06Speaker 7: a certain doorway. And if you couldn't fit through the doorway,
- 1:24:09Speaker 7: then they kept you in this room until you lost
- 1:24:11Speaker 7: enough weight. That way they knew how many people they
- 1:24:14Speaker 7: could pack on the slave ship.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: I saw this. But in those dungeons there was a
- 1:24:20Speaker 2: hole in the roof, and the hole in the roof
- 1:24:23Speaker 2: was right under the church.
- 1:24:25Speaker 7: Because they wanted to inundate the so called savages, the
- 1:24:32Speaker 7: so called slaves, the so called Africans. They wanted to
- 1:24:37Speaker 7: indicate them with their religion, and they were using Christianity.
- 1:24:42Speaker 7: They were using Christianity to justify slavery. That's crazy. See
- 1:24:48Speaker 7: Christianity is not a white religion in case that's That's
- 1:24:51Speaker 7: not what I'm saying.
- 1:24:52Speaker 2: But what this group of.
- 1:24:53Speaker 7: Whites did in this country was they tried to make
- 1:24:57Speaker 7: it a reason to just slavery.
- 1:25:01Speaker 2: So when slavery came to America.
- 1:25:03Speaker 7: Later on, when they were talking about fighting the Civil War,
- 1:25:06Speaker 7: here came the Southern Evangelicals. They came to support slavery
- 1:25:12Speaker 7: and their Christian organization and they exist today. So see,
- 1:25:15Speaker 7: when you talking about not voting, are you serious? Do
- 1:25:19Speaker 7: you understand what they're doing with this make America Great
- 1:25:21Speaker 7: Again campaign? Tommy just sent me something where Lawrence Taylor,
- 1:25:26Speaker 7: one of the greatest, if not the greatest, football player
- 1:25:29Speaker 7: to ever play in the NFL. I've never seen a
- 1:25:33Speaker 7: guy play the position of linebacker like Lawrence Taylor from
- 1:25:37Speaker 7: the outside. Now, ray Lewis who another dude, but this boy,
- 1:25:41Speaker 7: Lawrence Taylor. Yeah, and he's now a Trump supporter. And
- 1:25:46Speaker 7: he was saying that he was never a Democrat. He's
- 1:25:50Speaker 7: been a Democrat his whole life, never been a Republican.
- 1:25:53Speaker 7: And now after meeting this man, he'll never vote Democrat again.
- 1:25:57Speaker 2: Why? Why?
- 1:25:58Speaker 7: And you know what's crazy to me, he is they
- 1:26:00Speaker 7: go find all these black people. It's a good thing
- 1:26:03Speaker 7: that Lawrence Taylor's one of the greatest football players. Other
- 1:26:05Speaker 7: than that, irrelevant, Irrelevant could give less than a damn
- 1:26:11Speaker 7: who Lawrence Taylor vote for. But to stand up and
- 1:26:14Speaker 7: take your what little star power you do have and
- 1:26:17Speaker 7: then give it to this man. Why why would you
- 1:26:20Speaker 7: vote for Trump? Why would you never vote Democrat again
- 1:26:23Speaker 7: after you met this man? What did Donald Trump say
- 1:26:26Speaker 7: to you that was so convincing that he's right for
- 1:26:29Speaker 7: black people? When all mega stands for is make America
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: great again. When making America great again, they're talking about
- 1:26:37Speaker 7: taking it back to a time where it was never
- 1:26:39Speaker 7: good for black people.
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: It ain't that good for us now, but let's get
- 1:26:43Speaker 2: it back there.
- 1:26:43Speaker 7: So now let's change the high school names back to
- 1:26:46Speaker 7: all these Confederate generals, and let's get rid of black history. Adam,
- 1:26:49Speaker 7: make America great again, y'all stupid, We got to vote, man.
- 1:26:55Speaker 7: And if you send up here thinking that Trump's is
- 1:26:57Speaker 7: for black you might be black for Trump, but Trump
- 1:26:59Speaker 7: ain't for you, no black ass.
- 1:27:00Speaker 2: You need to understand that. Okay, bye, y'all have a
- 1:27:04Speaker 2: great thing.
- 1:27:16Speaker 3: For all.
