- 1:16Speaker 1: have apps like this guy. You dream, you know, because
- 1:20Speaker 1: I can't get him. I tried, but again, when you
- 1:23Speaker 1: eat a banana split, it's hard. And we're gonna talk
- 1:28Speaker 1: because he's been talking this weekend and he went and
- 1:30Speaker 1: ate a lunch with me, so that was that was
- 1:32Speaker 1: a fun experience. He got to see me in blink
- 1:34Speaker 1: his eyes like four or five time, going Okay, this
- 1:36Speaker 1: dude's crazy. He's a celebrity and fitness and nutrition expert.

- 1:55Speaker 1: actor Maurice Chestnut, that came out last April and was
- 1:59Speaker 1: a huge teller. Please Walk with the Money making conversations.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Obie can't what's going on with shot Man? Such a
- 2:08Speaker 1: phenomenal intro. I don't even sound like me you, so
- 2:13Speaker 1: I went on, I went the thing about it is
- 2:16Speaker 1: that the beauty of you? Because you really are one
- 2:18Speaker 1: of these guys that kind of annoy me because I
- 2:22Speaker 1: say that, because you don't want to accept your What
- 2:25Speaker 1: did I do? You just went like that? You know
- 2:27Speaker 1: that don't seem like to me? I don't. I don't
- 2:29Speaker 1: know who but that me. I don't really know that
- 2:33Speaker 1: that can't beat me. That's what. Imagine how horrible it
- 2:36Speaker 1: would be if I looked in the mirror and said,
- 2:38Speaker 1: you know what, I'm sexy. Imagine how horrible that's a
- 2:42Speaker 1: lot of people, A lot of people say that. I
- 2:45Speaker 1: like to be the opposite, you know what I mean,
- 2:46Speaker 1: where people actually say, you know what, it's a nice guy.
- 2:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something you can get that. You
- 2:51Speaker 1: can just let that pot belly shine. Brother, you don't,
- 2:54Speaker 1: you're there's some things you can do that you ain't
- 2:56Speaker 1: gotta have that pressure. But if I let that pot
- 2:59Speaker 1: belly shine, my fitness card is gonna be removing, you
- 3:02Speaker 1: know what I mean. I'm not gonna be the same
- 3:04Speaker 1: expert no more. I'm gonna be there. Say, you know
- 3:06Speaker 1: he's trying to get there, because that's part of you,
- 3:08Speaker 1: that that's so you all. You're walking bill absolutely without
- 3:12Speaker 1: a doubt. You know, when you've shot as many magazine
- 3:15Speaker 1: covers and photo shoots that I've done, I I put
- 3:19Speaker 1: I did so much of that for so many years
- 3:21Speaker 1: that I don't want to put that stuff out on
- 3:23Speaker 1: social media any more. It's like if you google my name,
- 3:26Speaker 1: it's just like you just see this black guy. So
- 3:29Speaker 1: it's um, it's one of those situation where it's a
- 3:31Speaker 1: positive thing, but it could be a negative because sometimes
- 3:34Speaker 1: people won't won't be able to connect to relate to
- 3:36Speaker 1: you as well too. So basically you run into with
- 3:39Speaker 1: a lot of models, run into people who were allowing there,
- 3:43Speaker 1: who gained fame through their beauty. You gain fame through
- 3:46Speaker 1: your body and so so so you're trying to define
- 3:49Speaker 1: yourself beyond absolutely with that doubt. Now when I post
- 3:54Speaker 1: on social media, I actually am trying to post less
- 3:58Speaker 1: image less images of my body and more of motivational
- 4:02Speaker 1: words and educational content. Once in a while. It's okay,
- 4:06Speaker 1: but I don't want to be that you know that
- 4:08Speaker 1: fitness cat that is eight times nine times a day.
- 4:12Speaker 1: You know of the abs or the well. I don't
- 4:14Speaker 1: do the butt by the way, but but like some
- 4:16Speaker 1: of the women, you know what I mean, It's like, look,
- 4:18Speaker 1: your butt hasn't changed from two seconds ago, and your
- 4:20Speaker 1: abs haven't changed from two minutes ago. So it's a
- 4:23Speaker 1: healthy balance because you don't want to you don't want
- 4:27Speaker 1: to get attain the perception of someone who is absolutely
- 4:30Speaker 1: narcissistic and all you care about is yourself. But you're
- 4:33Speaker 1: not trying to help nobody, you know what I mean.
- 4:35Speaker 1: So what is your what is your training schedule as
- 4:38Speaker 1: far as how I work out or when I'm training people? Okay,
- 4:41Speaker 1: one minute left, they told me, so I I should
- 4:43Speaker 1: probably ask you on the other side because I know
- 4:46Speaker 1: that's because I'm gonna tell everybody my training is get
- 4:48Speaker 1: I get up before thirty, I go downstairs. I complain,
- 4:52Speaker 1: I complain before I go into the gym room. And
- 4:55Speaker 1: then I do uh some the bench, I do some
- 4:59Speaker 1: sit ups. I do three sets thirty each and then
- 5:02Speaker 1: I do the little the hands on the bench and
- 5:04Speaker 1: to do my little arm dips. And then I go
- 5:06Speaker 1: into the other room. I do some butterflies three sets,
- 5:09Speaker 1: and I do a pull down three sets, and I
- 5:11Speaker 1: do uh um curls three sets, and then I'm mad.
- 5:13Speaker 1: We'll be right back and we'll hear about what he's
- 5:16Speaker 1: gonna do because he's not mad, because he has a
- 5:18Speaker 1: body that makes me happy when I look at it,
- 5:20Speaker 1: because I go, I want to be here. I want
- 5:22Speaker 1: to be here. Listen to money making conversation, my man, Oh,
- 5:25Speaker 1: thank you for dropping into my studio. We'll be right
- 5:35Speaker 1: back with more from Marsha McDonald. The money making conversations
- 5:38Speaker 1: don't touch that down. I guess the studio is. I
- 5:43Speaker 1: want to call my friend. Uh. He changed my life
- 5:45Speaker 1: with a book called The Cut that he co authored
- 5:48Speaker 1: with Hollywood UH Superstar calling superstar Morris Chesterna and UH.
- 5:53Speaker 1: I had them on my show. Here you guys on
- 5:55Speaker 1: my show in February, and I read the book and
- 5:58Speaker 1: I lost sixteen pounds and I've kept kept it off
- 6:02Speaker 1: it and Uh, in fact, were joking this weekend. I
- 6:05Speaker 1: was saying that it was such a good book for
- 6:07Speaker 1: me that I had to stop, you know, because I
- 6:11Speaker 1: would say, this is where I wanted to be because
- 6:13Speaker 1: what you did that book changed by eating habits. And
- 6:16Speaker 1: that's important when you want to go on a diet,
- 6:19Speaker 1: because a lot of dots you say, don't do that. Absolutely.
- 6:22Speaker 1: I think what's great is the fact that not only
- 6:24Speaker 1: did you lose weight, but you were able to gain
- 6:27Speaker 1: education to continue it without my help or without speaking anyone.
- 6:31Speaker 1: That's the most important thing. When you write a book,
- 6:33Speaker 1: it's not only helping you lose the weight, but it's
- 6:35Speaker 1: also helping you create a to be cognizant of the lifestyle,
- 6:39Speaker 1: but also to educate yourself on what you can and
- 6:42Speaker 1: what you can't do. So if at the end of
- 6:45Speaker 1: the book, you know what to do after you've lost
- 6:47Speaker 1: the weight, and that's a beautiful thing. Now now you
- 6:49Speaker 1: know what to do. I can eat this, I can
- 6:51Speaker 1: eat that, I can wow. I can't wow. So, because
- 6:54Speaker 1: it's not all or nothing, if you go from the
- 6:57Speaker 1: all or nothing, you're not very very few people are
- 7:01Speaker 1: going to be successful. You have to have some moderation. Okay,
- 7:03Speaker 1: here's an example of what he's done for me. We
- 7:06Speaker 1: went in the ate lunch on Saturday, went to one
- 7:09Speaker 1: of my favorite restaurants in Atlanta called Bronx and Bagels.
- 7:12Speaker 1: You go to that place and you gotta wait to
- 7:14Speaker 1: eat um. And they have what they call the big breakfast.
- 7:17Speaker 1: With the big breakfast comes a giant bagel and cream cheese.
- 7:21Speaker 1: I gotta sent them and raise and it comes with
- 7:22Speaker 1: two pancakes. It comes with two pant sauces, comes with
- 7:26Speaker 1: two eggs over easy with grits. He added a chicken sandwich,
- 7:36Speaker 1: real chicken sandwich. I'm looking at him, going do your thing, brother.
- 7:40Speaker 1: So here's the deal. Normally only eight. Normally I would
- 7:43Speaker 1: have eaten both the entire bagels. Only ate one, you know,
- 7:46Speaker 1: because they cut in half. Normally I would have eaten
- 7:49Speaker 1: both pancakes. I kind of ate maybe maybe a quarter
- 7:52Speaker 1: of that. I ate one pant sausage, both by eggs,
- 7:56Speaker 1: some of the grits. That is what you trained me
- 7:59Speaker 1: to say. Are you continually consuming all this food when
- 8:02Speaker 1: you don't need it? Exactly? And so what would in
- 8:05Speaker 1: the past? And I and I did it automatically. Ill
- 8:08Speaker 1: it was. It was funny because I didn't do it
- 8:09Speaker 1: because I was trying to impress you. It's in my
- 8:12Speaker 1: brain now, is it is my mantra now? And I
- 8:14Speaker 1: walked out of the restaurant feeling good about myself. And
- 8:17Speaker 1: so that's what the cut has done for me, And
- 8:20Speaker 1: that's what you've been doing for people's lives even before
- 8:23Speaker 1: social media. Correct. Absolutely, I mean I love what I do.
- 8:26Speaker 1: The ability to be able to help someone to be healthy,
- 8:30Speaker 1: to be able to inspire and motivate people from a
- 8:34Speaker 1: health and wellness perspective, because when you're healthy, when you're fit,
- 8:38Speaker 1: the amount of confidence it gives you to go about
- 8:41Speaker 1: to be successful in your life, to be able to
- 8:43Speaker 1: be to be able to be desirable for your spouse,
- 8:45Speaker 1: to be able to be uh, to be able to
- 8:47Speaker 1: have a confidence to play with your kids. It it
- 8:50Speaker 1: literally goes with every part of your life in terms
- 8:53Speaker 1: of your fitness level. People think that when you go
- 8:56Speaker 1: to an interview, to have a confidence to be in
- 8:58Speaker 1: that interview, to project yourself off in a positive way.
- 9:01Speaker 1: So the whole health and wellness thing, it literally connects
- 9:04Speaker 1: with every single part of your life. So I feel
- 9:06Speaker 1: blessed that I have that ability to do that. Well.
- 9:09Speaker 1: I feel fortunate I was able to read that book
- 9:12Speaker 1: and change my life because you know a lot of
- 9:14Speaker 1: people look at me going you didn't need to lose weight.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Yes I did, Yes I did. Because it has caused
- 9:19Speaker 1: me to you know, the change the wardrobe too, because
- 9:23Speaker 1: you lose sixteen powers. It does change a lot of
- 9:26Speaker 1: things in your especially your waistline. And then that you know,
- 9:29Speaker 1: I lost all my little behind, whatever little behind I
- 9:32Speaker 1: had is gone. And so she laughs, she grabs back
- 9:41Speaker 1: that I leave it alone. I'm happy I'm not getting
- 9:46Speaker 1: it back, okay. And so those are the things that
- 9:49Speaker 1: the conversations that we have. And so so when you
- 9:52Speaker 1: look at the life that you develop, a career that
- 9:54Speaker 1: you developed in the celebrity fitness because you've been on
- 9:57Speaker 1: a number of shows. Uh so you bed you're you're
- 10:00Speaker 1: the number one social media influencer in the world. But
- 10:04Speaker 1: there wasn't always social media with you. Well before social media.
- 10:08Speaker 1: You you had to get in fitness magazines. You had
- 10:11Speaker 1: to be able to you had to be at a
- 10:12Speaker 1: right for different fitness sites. If you weren't on TV
- 10:15Speaker 1: and you weren't in magazines, you didn't exist. I mean
- 10:18Speaker 1: I remember back in the day flying to a different
- 10:21Speaker 1: country all my own dime just to see if I
- 10:25Speaker 1: can get in that magazine, to create a platform for myself.
- 10:28Speaker 1: You know, it was all about face to face, shaking
- 10:30Speaker 1: the person's hand, actually having some type of personality that
- 10:34Speaker 1: whole feel and touch things. So now with social media,
- 10:38Speaker 1: you don't have to do that no more. And also
- 10:40Speaker 1: back then it was so competitive because you had some
- 10:42Speaker 1: of the fitness and best looking people that were competing
- 10:44Speaker 1: against you to try to get in that magazine. And then,
- 10:47Speaker 1: by the way, at that time, they weren't putting black
- 10:49Speaker 1: people on cover unless you were a crossover entertainer. So
- 10:52Speaker 1: I had to deal with that. And when I came
- 10:55Speaker 1: in the game over ten years ago, they were talking
- 10:57Speaker 1: about black covers don't sell. So I basically most of
- 11:01Speaker 1: my my I said, the first temper cent of my
- 11:03Speaker 1: magazine covers were in Australia, we're in the UK because
- 11:06Speaker 1: they didn't care about that. And then once I proved
- 11:08Speaker 1: that I could sell and they gave me an opportunities
- 11:11Speaker 1: a writer than the You're not than the magazines in
- 11:12Speaker 1: the United States started giving me the opportunities. So I
- 11:15Speaker 1: had success before social media. Social media, in my opinion,
- 11:19Speaker 1: is so much easier because now you can control your
- 11:21Speaker 1: own platform and you can create your own opportunities. Now
- 11:23Speaker 1: magazines are are are hitting up social media influences. You
- 11:27Speaker 1: know what, I want to use your platform now as
- 11:29Speaker 1: opposed to you're going up there and begging for an opportunity.
- 11:32Speaker 1: So it's easier now and it allows more people to
- 11:35Speaker 1: be in the game as opposed to waiting. And that's
- 11:37Speaker 1: why I wanted to bring that up because the power
- 11:39Speaker 1: or the brand of social media. A lot of people
- 11:42Speaker 1: complain why the Kardashians on so many magazine because they
- 11:46Speaker 1: say all magazines there's a saying, and you know this,
- 11:49Speaker 1: you can't hate the player, hate the game. You know
- 11:52Speaker 1: you got you know, people can talk smack about them,
- 11:55Speaker 1: but they're destroying it. They're killing it. When you see
- 11:57Speaker 1: an old girl on the cover of Fortune Magaze zeene yo,
- 12:01Speaker 1: she's she's a she's a player, she's a major player
- 12:04Speaker 1: in the game. You know that they're what they've done
- 12:07Speaker 1: brandon wise, business wise, their mother being the manager who's
- 12:10Speaker 1: been influential. It's it's genius, absolutely. And that's why when
- 12:14Speaker 1: I talk on this show about being an entrepreneur, about
- 12:17Speaker 1: a brand, about being able to cross over, and the
- 12:20Speaker 1: thing about it is that but you went with it,
- 12:22Speaker 1: you know, like you wouldn't have get over there complaining.
- 12:24Speaker 1: You say, how can I benefit from this new format
- 12:27Speaker 1: and amount of world how much? How often do you
- 12:29Speaker 1: post and how much time? Because I know your big
- 12:32Speaker 1: format is Twitter. Absolutely surprised doing when when you're doing
- 12:36Speaker 1: the book to remorse, your Instagram accounts started taking off,
- 12:39Speaker 1: absolutely without a doubt. Well, the thing about it with
- 12:41Speaker 1: me was that with with social media, what I did
- 12:44Speaker 1: was I just invested in a a top social media
- 12:49Speaker 1: company that really helped to bring up my influence on
- 12:51Speaker 1: Twitter and social media. I always believe that what you
- 12:54Speaker 1: don't know, just outsource it, you know, as opposed to
- 12:57Speaker 1: going in there and trying to you know, trying to
- 12:59Speaker 1: figure it out and stuff. So, UM, I understood that. Um.
- 13:03Speaker 1: I think the one of the the reasons why that my
- 13:04Speaker 1: influence on Twitter has been so high. As far as hashtag,
- 13:08Speaker 1: I was one of the first people to use hashtags. Okay,
- 13:10Speaker 1: and the social media company told me these are the
- 13:12Speaker 1: most popular hashtags. To do this every day, and I
- 13:16Speaker 1: started to do it and do it and do it.
- 13:17Speaker 1: And after you know, several years of doing it, the
- 13:21Speaker 1: hashtag IFI saying that, you know, I've attained billions of
- 13:25Speaker 1: impressions because I'm consistently using hashtags and when people go
- 13:29Speaker 1: into these hashtags, I'm the first. I'm the first thing
- 13:32Speaker 1: that they see and they're go and read my content,
- 13:34Speaker 1: you know, and so, um, my engagement may not be
- 13:37Speaker 1: as high, but the analytics show that people are reading
- 13:41Speaker 1: my stuff. So is there a book in your future? Oh? Well,
- 13:45Speaker 1: you know what, That's probably why I came out of here.
- 13:52Speaker 1: You you know, because I say that, because you get
- 13:56Speaker 1: a book with Mars okay, and I know that was
- 13:59Speaker 1: a that was a union experience because he was a
- 14:01Speaker 1: celebrity who lost a lot of weight for a popular movie.
- 14:04Speaker 1: And I know you really want to do a book
- 14:06Speaker 1: about for women. I really want to do a book
- 14:09Speaker 1: where I'm really talking to women all of their insecurities,
- 14:14Speaker 1: all of their weak points that they struggle with. I
- 14:16Speaker 1: want to be able to say, ladies, this is for you.
- 14:19Speaker 1: This is not for every day regularly. I don't want
- 14:21Speaker 1: to have any ambiguity whatsoever. You know, this is for you.
- 14:24Speaker 1: And so I'm looking forward to doing that and being
- 14:27Speaker 1: able to put my heart, my my my blood, sweat
- 14:29Speaker 1: and tears into it. Uh me solo. Um, So I'm
- 14:32Speaker 1: looking forward to to working, you know, to doing that
- 14:35Speaker 1: and um and uh definitely you know, with your with
- 14:38Speaker 1: your assistance, definitely helpful without a doubt. Well, definitely. I'm
- 14:42Speaker 1: a fan, and I think what is more importantly is
- 14:45Speaker 1: that is that you have a message and you have
- 14:47Speaker 1: a passion, and I think that those things, uh, you
- 14:50Speaker 1: have a following. Well, you know what. The first and
- 14:53Speaker 1: foremost I want to say, Look, I appreciate the opportunity
- 14:56Speaker 1: in getting to know you. Just want to say this, man,
- 14:58Speaker 1: it's been a pleasure and honor and your phenomenal human being.
- 15:02Speaker 1: And I appreciate the advice you've been given me and um,
- 15:05Speaker 1: you know, just being able to hang out with you
- 15:07Speaker 1: at your place and stuff like that, and giving me
- 15:09Speaker 1: this platform to be able to promote health and wellness
- 15:11Speaker 1: and talk about the stuff that I'm doing. So it's
- 15:13Speaker 1: a it's gonna be a great, great bright It's gonna
- 15:15Speaker 1: be a lot of positive things. We're gonna be he said,
- 15:19Speaker 1: we we can. I work with you, sir, and thank
- 15:24Speaker 1: you for that compliment. I want to just say, man,
- 15:26Speaker 1: thank you for dropping by the show. We're gonna bring
- 15:29Speaker 1: you back more often. Man. Absolutely, what you have to
- 15:31Speaker 1: say continually moves me in effects to my listeners and
- 15:34Speaker 1: the people watch me on Facebook again. Uh Obi Aberdiki, OK,
- 15:40Speaker 1: that's all right, messed his name. I can't believe that's
