- 2:05Speaker 1: to the voice, Come on digging now, one and only
- 2:09Speaker 1: Steve Harley got a radio show. You got a good
- 2:13Speaker 1: for you today. I was thinking about on the way in.
- 2:17Speaker 1: You know, yesterday was a really, really trying day for me.
- 2:20Speaker 1: There's a lot of work yesterday and I was up.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I've gotten so tired at one point man that But
- 2:28Speaker 1: you know, I mean, I mean I had no one
- 2:30Speaker 1: to to to explain it to. You know, mom. The
- 2:33Speaker 1: fellas that travel with me, they just go, they just go.
- 2:36Speaker 1: You know, they know where I gotta be. They get
- 2:38Speaker 1: me in place, you know, blah blah blah. But you know,
- 2:44Speaker 1: you know, right about when I'm about to complain about
- 2:47Speaker 1: it out loud, I also find all of the incredible
- 2:54Speaker 1: reasons that I have to be grateful, and it kind
- 2:58Speaker 1: of slows down to complain it a little bit. Now,
- 3:00Speaker 1: I'm not saying that our days. Man, why I don't
- 3:03Speaker 1: verbalize my fatigue or I don't verbalize my man I
- 3:07Speaker 1: wish I didn't have to work so harder. Man, But
- 3:10Speaker 1: but but but but yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 1: But when I get through with that, I have so
- 3:15Speaker 1: many reasons to be grateful that it does slow it down,
- 3:19Speaker 1: you know, And sometimes it might the majority terms just
- 3:21Speaker 1: flat out stops it because I end up laughing at
- 3:24Speaker 1: myself because you know, it's so many things are happening
- 3:28Speaker 1: to me beyond my belief, beyond what I asked God for.
- 3:33Speaker 1: So there's just some extreme blessings going on in my life.
- 3:36Speaker 1: But man, man o, man o, man have I paid?
- 3:40Speaker 1: And that that's the part I want to talk to
- 3:41Speaker 1: you about today. You know, see a lot of people
- 3:43Speaker 1: look at other people and they see what they think
- 3:46Speaker 1: is the finished product. They don't realize that all of us,
- 3:51Speaker 1: no matter who we are, are still a work in progress.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That I have many flaws that I have many problems
- 3:56Speaker 1: and have many situations that come up, you know, just
- 3:59Speaker 1: like anybody else. You know, I'm no different from that,
- 4:02Speaker 1: you know. You know, life happens for me just like
- 4:06Speaker 1: it happens for you. It may happen in different ways,
- 4:10Speaker 1: but just like you know, if it's something comes up
- 4:12Speaker 1: at an inconvenient time for you, it pops up for me.
- 4:16Speaker 1: You know, if something happens for me that seems unfair,
- 4:19Speaker 1: I know that it's happening to somebody else unfairly. But
- 4:23Speaker 1: you know, um, I find myself being grateful the majority
- 4:32Speaker 1: of the time. I can't say all the time because
- 4:34Speaker 1: I'm a human being, and sometimes I find myself complaining
- 4:37Speaker 1: about it all, you know, But but I try, for
- 4:39Speaker 1: the most part to stay grateful, to stay focused, and
- 4:43Speaker 1: it allows me to keep the wheels churning. But now
- 4:48Speaker 1: I wanna I want to share something with you about
- 4:53Speaker 1: your road to success. You know you've heard me say
- 4:56Speaker 1: this probably a hundred times now. The road to success
- 5:00Speaker 1: is always under construction, it really is. So here's here's
- 5:05Speaker 1: what I want you to expect on your way to changing,
- 5:11Speaker 1: on your way to becoming successful, on your way to
- 5:14Speaker 1: achieving your goals on your way to getting better. I
- 5:20Speaker 1: want you to expect many difficulties. Once again, the road
- 5:27Speaker 1: to the road to success is always under construction. I
- 5:32Speaker 1: want you to expect many difficulties. But here is the
- 5:37Speaker 1: deal between successful people and non successful people. It's how
- 5:42Speaker 1: they deal with the difficulties. That's the only difference. It's
- 5:50Speaker 1: how you deal with the difficulties, how you handle the setbacks,
- 5:55Speaker 1: how well you get up after you've been knocked down.
- 5:58Speaker 1: That's happening to all of us, none of us, none
- 6:02Speaker 1: of us are exempt from that. You're going to fall,
- 6:06Speaker 1: You're going to be pushed, you're going to be run over,
- 6:12Speaker 1: You're going to be tackled, you are going to be
- 6:16Speaker 1: lied about. You are going to have setbacks. That's a
- 6:22Speaker 1: part of the journey. But how do you handle them?
- 6:26Speaker 1: How well do you do you handle everything? See, I
- 6:30Speaker 1: want you to understand something. When you set out to
- 6:33Speaker 1: be successful, he is difficult. Pet Pablo, who I have
- 6:37Speaker 1: probably people? What is it about to quote Pete Pablo.
- 6:41Speaker 1: He had a u A wrap album out called Diary
- 6:46Speaker 1: of a Cinner, and it was really, man my favorite
- 6:50Speaker 1: rap album of all time because he said some things
- 6:55Speaker 1: about his life that I could so relate to. I
- 6:59Speaker 1: can't think of the name of the song right now,
- 7:00Speaker 1: but there is a lyric a Stands in one of
- 7:03Speaker 1: his songs that says, I had a half a tank
- 7:06Speaker 1: of gas, two cigarettes, scraping up change in an ash tray,
- 7:13Speaker 1: and a voice said, it's only a test of my faith.
- 7:20Speaker 1: It said, I had a half a tank of gas,
- 7:23Speaker 1: two cigarettes, scraping up change in an ash tray, but
- 7:28Speaker 1: a voice said it was only a test of my faith.
- 7:33Speaker 1: It's a deal your faith, which is the belief in
- 7:37Speaker 1: things that you cannot see. When you say I'm going
- 7:40Speaker 1: to make it, I'm going to be successful at it.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I'm going to finish college. I'm going to achieve my goal.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I'm going to be a better husband. I'm going to
- 7:50Speaker 1: be a better father. I'm going to be a better wife.
- 7:53Speaker 1: I'm going to be a better mother. I'm going to
- 7:55Speaker 1: be a better student. I'm going to be rich. I'm
- 7:58Speaker 1: going to start are doing more for other people. I'm
- 8:02Speaker 1: going to help the less fortunate. Whatever you say when
- 8:06Speaker 1: you're sending that prayer up, when you declare that faith,
- 8:10Speaker 1: the devil hears your prayer to Now A sad thing
- 8:14Speaker 1: about the devil is he's busy seven and he has
- 8:19Speaker 1: people that works for him. It's some imps out there
- 8:25Speaker 1: that ain't up to no good. You all know them.
- 8:29Speaker 1: You've all run across them. They always putting shade on somebody.
- 8:35Speaker 1: They always barking at somebody, and they always knocking somebody down.
- 8:40Speaker 1: These people that they just busy for Satan. What you
- 8:45Speaker 1: gotta be careful of is that occasionally you don't become
- 8:48Speaker 1: one of those people. See so when these people, when
- 8:54Speaker 1: when the devil hears is prayer that you sent up
- 8:56Speaker 1: or what you're gonna be successful at, then you're faith
- 9:00Speaker 1: is going to be tested. He got people man to
- 9:04Speaker 1: come in there and try to knock you off that course.
- 9:07Speaker 1: So you can get on back to this old woe
- 9:09Speaker 1: is me. I ain't gonna ever be nothing. The uh
- 9:12Speaker 1: man seemed like every time I try to get back
- 9:15Speaker 1: up by getting knocked right back. Now, once he gets
- 9:17Speaker 1: you saying that enough times, then he can start implementing
- 9:22Speaker 1: some other programs. Come on, man, let's sell this dope.
- 9:26Speaker 1: We can't get no job now here you go. You're
- 9:30Speaker 1: off track. You're going you other way. Now, he got you,
- 9:33Speaker 1: he got you tied up. Now to the point where
- 9:35Speaker 1: he can get you locked up, or he can get
- 9:36Speaker 1: you killed and lose your soul. So now he had
- 9:39Speaker 1: worked busy he all day. What you got to be
- 9:43Speaker 1: mindful of is that your faith will be tested, that
- 9:47Speaker 1: it's going to be difficult to get to where you are,
- 9:49Speaker 1: and you got to stay in prayer all the time,
- 9:52Speaker 1: talking to your creator about strengthening you for the journey.
- 9:57Speaker 1: You have to be strengthened for the journey. That's all
- 10:01Speaker 1: you're asking for, because the journey is the journey. You
- 10:04Speaker 1: can stop asking God to remove all these problems in
- 10:07Speaker 1: these situations because it ain't gonna happen these out of
- 10:11Speaker 1: test of our faith. This determines how bad you want it.
- 10:15Speaker 1: What I'm saying to you this morning is stay focused,
- 10:19Speaker 1: stay prayerful, stay on point, get ready for him. Understand
- 10:23Speaker 1: that it's just to test to your faith, that your
- 10:25Speaker 1: faith will be tested. But you got to stay the course. Man,
- 10:30Speaker 1: You got to stay the course. It's all right, you
- 10:35Speaker 1: will be fine in due time, but you gotta give
- 10:38Speaker 1: some of this stuff a chance to play itself out.
- 10:41Speaker 1: Because nothing lasts forever. Ain't no pain forever. All right.
- 10:47Speaker 1: I'm just trying to help you with that, because boy,
- 10:49Speaker 1: I'm dealing with it all the time. Stay prayerful, God
- 10:54Speaker 1: got help for you. All right, let's go. You're listening
- 10:57Speaker 1: to good morning, Good morning to all of you. This

- 12:25Speaker 1: Ain't never let you do that over not that minute,
- 12:35Speaker 1: because that's ay, that's enough enough it is. But I'm

- 12:48Speaker 1: Last one. I'm so happy. I'm so happy. But you
- 12:55Speaker 1: know there's a different plantation which means you're as still
- 13:00Speaker 1: gotta pick cotton. Yeah, you're gonna You're gonna do your
- 13:04Speaker 1: share over here. Don't think that you've been so you're
- 13:09Speaker 1: gonna be laid up under a tree and not doing
- 13:12Speaker 1: to him. Also, I want to dedicate the show in
- 13:17Speaker 1: an a Tommy. Oh yeah, in a Tommy your nephew.
- 13:22Speaker 1: Why yeah, uh, you know, for little people. And I'm
- 13:28Speaker 1: not talking about tiny Timmy, Tiny Timmy and tigers. Didn't
- 13:40Speaker 1: he have a company called t NT Tomas. Oh man,
- 13:48Speaker 1: this show is Are you sure? Oh? I'm so happy
- 13:52Speaker 1: here being a little bit later today. But you know
- 13:54Speaker 1: one thing about this show, it goes on, man, because
- 13:57Speaker 1: we got stars on this show. Baby, we got real
- 14:00Speaker 1: stars on it. Again, That's what this is. No one
- 14:09Speaker 1: says it's quite like you camp Ship CAMPI and k Man. Anyway,
- 14:24Speaker 1: don't be ignorant to me. I think. So it's Friday,
- 14:27Speaker 1: it always is. All right, coming up, Tyler Perry is Drake.
- 14:33Speaker 1: Have you guys heard about this story? All right, we'll
- 14:35Speaker 1: talk about it and something funny when we come back
- 14:37Speaker 1: at thirty or four after you're listening to the Steven show.
- 14:42Speaker 1: All right, now, this is something funny. Steve your buddy
- 14:46Speaker 1: family to the show We Love Him. Tyler Perry is
- 14:50Speaker 1: a dead ringer for Drake Drake, the Riper Drake people mistaken. Okay, listen,
- 14:58Speaker 1: check this out. At least when you know he's taking
- 15:01Speaker 1: pictures with foreign fans that don't have a clue. Apparently,
- 15:07Speaker 1: while here in l A, two ladies, one of whom
- 15:09Speaker 1: was French we just left Paris, remember, asked Tyler for
- 15:13Speaker 1: a picture. They kind of sort of knew he was famous,
- 15:16Speaker 1: but they didn't really kind of grasp who he was
- 15:18Speaker 1: not really, So Tyler played along and just told the
- 15:22Speaker 1: ladies he was Drake and they believed. They believe. Yeah, yeah,
- 15:27Speaker 1: Tyler crazy. So I mean, I know you have a
- 15:32Speaker 1: bunch of funny fans stories, but that's Tyler's funny fans
- 15:35Speaker 1: story that the fans thought. Hold on, hold on, I'm
- 15:38Speaker 1: in I'm in Memphis. One day, I'm performing at this club. Yeah,
- 15:44Speaker 1: I get on the elevator with Boomerang and Wong with
- 15:47Speaker 1: my boy wants six folds six six. Everybody three fifty
- 15:52Speaker 1: butt me. We're on the elevator. White guy gets on
- 15:56Speaker 1: the elevator, pushes the button I'm standing behind and waning
- 16:00Speaker 1: boom so he don't see me. He turns around to
- 16:03Speaker 1: him and he goes, why elevator shears crowded, So they
- 16:11Speaker 1: didn't say nothing, he said, And we're riding down. He said,
- 16:14Speaker 1: guys are all for quiet. Wan said that's cause we
- 16:18Speaker 1: ain't talking to you. Juan said, that's called we're not talking. Okay, wow.
- 16:28Speaker 1: So he turns back around. The door opens and a
- 16:32Speaker 1: group of people see us, but it just looks full.
- 16:35Speaker 1: It's pretty wrong behind one, but it just looked full.
- 16:41Speaker 1: So the dose shut. He goes, and the white guy went,
- 16:44Speaker 1: why sure, could he used a little company? He got,
- 16:56Speaker 1: you're laughing behind? Can we get down to the bottom?
- 17:02Speaker 1: And the door opens and they split and I come
- 17:05Speaker 1: between them. He goes, oh my god, how in the
- 17:10Speaker 1: world were you pass down? Let you go? He goes,
- 17:16Speaker 1: oh my god, Mr Pryor please have your art. And
- 17:23Speaker 1: I went Priors did yeah, Richard Pryor, He's gone, and
- 17:32Speaker 1: he said Mr Pryor please, So I said, hey, man, look,
- 17:36Speaker 1: I'm not Richard Prior. Listen, I'm not gonna tell anybody
- 17:41Speaker 1: they signed the paper for me. I said, man, listen,
- 17:44Speaker 1: I'm not Richard Prime. Funny, You're not really talk just
- 17:50Speaker 1: signed it from me, and I wrote Richard Pride on
- 17:53Speaker 1: the paper. He went, man, thank you so much. God
- 17:56Speaker 1: him money. But that happens a lotta stay lock in
- 18:00Speaker 1: their mind. Who you are you? Richard just signed it.
- 18:05Speaker 1: That explains Tyler, Perry and Drake. And I cannot tell
- 18:08Speaker 1: you how many times I've been mistaken for Shell Underwood.
- 18:11Speaker 1: It is unlegable. I'm taking pictures any different thing. Yeah, Wood,
- 18:19Speaker 1: no problem, girl, you are hired. What is wrong with you?
- 18:28Speaker 1: Oh my god, oh my god, he's shadowing. Ain't shaved
- 18:35Speaker 1: or nothing. Tommy got that same thing, man, I'll tell you,
- 18:40Speaker 1: Tommy boy. I was with Time one time and do
- 18:43Speaker 1: with a little man. Little man. Didn't mistake it for
- 18:51Speaker 1: little man. And they said again, I like that move
- 18:55Speaker 1: by little Man. Oh my god, I'm Man's man. They
- 19:03Speaker 1: do they hit you with it. You know, you know
- 19:06Speaker 1: what I get stake for. I was in vague was
- 19:08Speaker 1: that the hood is. The group of white women ran
- 19:12Speaker 1: up to me and said, oh my god, is Wayne Brave?
- 19:17Speaker 1: I standing a man was waiting, but you know it
- 19:20Speaker 1: wasn't helping. Why was I waiting for my luggage under
- 19:23Speaker 1: Wayne Brady pitch? They was over the snapping neighbor hints off.
- 19:29Speaker 1: I said, I'm not white, but then one was fine.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I just went to singing Bess I could, yes, I am,
- 19:40Speaker 1: I will. Who cares about you? Man noting on you?
- 19:56Speaker 1: Oh my god? But but that is that is that
- 19:59Speaker 1: Rich Briant just signed. So you had hair this time though?
- 20:07Speaker 1: Ye yeah yeah yeah. So you know what another funny story, Steve.
- 20:12Speaker 1: This doesn't have to do with a mistaken identity, but
- 20:15Speaker 1: the story with you on the elevator and the little girl.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Remember that animal kingdom and you know it's just families.
- 20:28Speaker 1: So I'm coming out of the sweet. No, I'm getting
- 20:30Speaker 1: ready to go to the Sweet. And we get downstairs
- 20:34Speaker 1: and down at the bottom is where the pool is.
- 20:37Speaker 1: And I just got through eating the jinkos, so the
- 20:40Speaker 1: pool is down there. So I get on elevator, the
- 20:42Speaker 1: door shutting. This guy runs and holds the door so
- 20:45Speaker 1: his family could get on. So I said, okay, cool,
- 20:47Speaker 1: So I'm standing there. So a guy gets on, a
- 20:49Speaker 1: couple and they got a little girl. This little girl
- 20:54Speaker 1: got on. Ah, this is crazy. A little like a sundress,
- 20:59Speaker 1: sheer like sundressed, like a cover up a beach cover
- 21:02Speaker 1: like a little cloud cover up. The little girl, but
- 21:07Speaker 1: just stood in front of me and put her head
- 21:12Speaker 1: all the way in her book and was just big.
- 21:16Speaker 1: And I'm talking about man. She was just showing her
- 21:22Speaker 1: whole little backs out, her whole bottom is out. And
- 21:25Speaker 1: I'm sitting there looking at her daddy, like, hey, man,
- 21:30Speaker 1: girl something. She was just big and just opening in
- 21:35Speaker 1: and just scratching it. And I was sitting there. It
- 21:38Speaker 1: was I was mortified. Why it's your little girl, and
- 21:42Speaker 1: why won't you stop scared? All right? Coming up next,
- 21:46Speaker 1: the nephews run that prank back. We'll be back right
- 21:49Speaker 1: after this. You're listening to the show, all right, let's go.
- 21:55Speaker 1: Time for nephews. Run that prank back. We're running the
- 21:58Speaker 1: brank back. This one right here is Musty soon. That's terrible. Hello. Hello,
- 22:12Speaker 1: I'm trying to reach the Vanessa. Please I Vanessa. My
- 22:16Speaker 1: name is Robert. I'm the one of the owners. You know,
- 22:20Speaker 1: my wife Michelle. We owned there. Yes, yes, yes, can
- 22:24Speaker 1: I help you? Okay we've been uh I think we've
- 22:27Speaker 1: had your son, Malik, probably close to a year now.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I'm all right, yes you have is everything okay? So
- 22:33Speaker 1: everything is fine, Everything is fine. I don't think we
- 22:35Speaker 1: have a problem. That we can't clear up. Um, I
- 22:39Speaker 1: have a question for you. Have you been noticing anything
- 22:43Speaker 1: different about Malik? Um, like concerning hygiene at all? Hygiene, No,
- 22:49Speaker 1: not that I can be called. What are you talking about? Okay?
- 22:52Speaker 1: How old is Malik's Okay, well, we soon have come
- 22:57Speaker 1: across a little glitch here that we're gonna try to
- 22:59Speaker 1: take care of here at the at the daycare. Actually
- 23:02Speaker 1: my wife didn't. I told her I would make the
- 23:04Speaker 1: phone call and leave her out of it. I know
- 23:06Speaker 1: you see her every day once. What are you talking about? What?
- 23:10Speaker 1: What is this glitch? Glitch? What is this glitch that
- 23:13Speaker 1: you want to talk about? I'm confused. Okay, Well, actually
- 23:16Speaker 1: what we're having is it seems like every day here
- 23:20Speaker 1: lately for the last two months, Malik has been you know,
- 23:24Speaker 1: very musty. You know, he hasn't been really sweaty, but
- 23:28Speaker 1: just real musty. Okay, you clearly have the wrong child,
- 23:31Speaker 1: because I give my son a bath every night, and
- 23:34Speaker 1: most morning is before he leaves to school, I give
- 23:36Speaker 1: him another bath again. So yeah, I'm pretty positive you
- 23:38Speaker 1: have the wrong child. Oh ma'am. Your son is Malik, right,
- 23:41Speaker 1: and he's two years old. You guys have been here
- 23:44Speaker 1: with us right close to a year now, correct, yes,
- 23:47Speaker 1: and okay, and he's cute, a little kid with the
- 23:50Speaker 1: curly hair. I know exactly which one he is. So
- 23:53Speaker 1: what I'm what I'm saying to you is that we
- 23:55Speaker 1: are having problems. He's just he's just reaching, you know,
- 23:59Speaker 1: he's real must Okay, you know what. My son does
- 24:01Speaker 1: not reak. I don't know what child you're talking about,

- 24:19Speaker 1: need to do. This is what I'm gonna do. I'm
- 24:21Speaker 1: just gonna try a little experiment for the next month
- 24:24Speaker 1: or so. Experiment. I'm sorry, Well, what do you mean experiment?
- 24:27Speaker 1: What kind of experiment? Well, what I'm gonna do is
- 24:29Speaker 1: I'm gonna put some male deodorant on him for the

- 24:40Speaker 1: I'm trying to. I'm trying to fix the problem here.
- 24:42Speaker 1: I just wanted to call it doesn't have a problem.
- 24:44Speaker 1: I'm already told you that my son is clean. You're
- 24:46Speaker 1: not gonna put any coment on him, and if you do,
- 24:49Speaker 1: it's going to be a problem. Do you understand me? Okay, man,
- 24:52Speaker 1: I'm not trying to have an argument with you. What
- 24:54Speaker 1: I want you to know is I'm not trying to,

- 25:04Speaker 1: your wife. Okay, Now listen, we're gonna have to do
- 25:08Speaker 1: something about your child. Your child is musty, okay, And
- 25:11Speaker 1: you're sitting here getting an attitude with me, and I'm
- 25:13Speaker 1: trying to let you know your child is nonsense. Maybe
- 25:16Speaker 1: you're the one that is musty. Maybe you and your
- 25:18Speaker 1: wife or musty. My child is not musty. I keep
- 25:20Speaker 1: telling you that I bathed him every night. Which part
- 25:22Speaker 1: of that don't you understand? I understand everything that you're saying.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Maybe it's the soap. Maybe something is not taking effect.
- 25:28Speaker 1: I'm not sure. Okay, maybe you doesn't smell because I
- 25:32Speaker 1: don't know what cheld you're not smelling? Child? You're not

- 27:08Speaker 1: Why did you hang up on me? I'm trying to

- 27:28Speaker 1: to come down differently, because you must be crazy spraining
- 27:31Speaker 1: my chop before you get to your car. I need,
- 27:33Speaker 1: I need to tell you one more thing about your side. Okay, please,
- 27:37Speaker 1: you possibly have to tell me. I want to tell you.
- 27:39Speaker 1: That is listen to me. This is nephew telling me

- 29:47Speaker 1: About about five years ago, no, no, no, about seven
- 29:50Speaker 1: years ago I opened up for Frankie Beaverly May's on
- 29:52Speaker 1: New Year's even New Orleans, and I didn't introduce Frankie

- 30:23Speaker 1: you're the only one? Wow? All right, Well, we'll be
- 30:31Speaker 1: back at the top of the hour, miss Anne. We'll
- 30:33Speaker 1: be here with our Friday headlines when we come back.
- 30:36Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Well, uh,
- 30:43Speaker 1: miss Anne's coming in with our Friday headlines before we
- 30:45Speaker 1: get to that. Uh, you don't want to miss Jay
- 30:48Speaker 1: Anthony Brown's Murder the hit today. You don't want to
- 30:52Speaker 1: miss it today. Yeah, but but check this out before
- 30:56Speaker 1: we get to Jay Anthony Brown's Murder the head if
- 30:59Speaker 1: you must say, okay, well t is t MZ has
- 31:04Speaker 1: learned that Sugar Knight made a death threat against uh
- 31:09Speaker 1: straight out of Compton director f Gary Gray. We all
- 31:13Speaker 1: know him. Um. The l a County grand jury which
- 31:17Speaker 1: indicted Sugar on felony criminal threats. Sugar allegedly made the
- 31:21Speaker 1: threat during the filming of the movie, but months before
- 31:25Speaker 1: he killed a man involved in the production by driving
- 31:27Speaker 1: over him in a Compton parking lot. We remember this,
- 31:30Speaker 1: We saw this on tv TMZ has obtained a copy
- 31:33Speaker 1: of the grand jury indictment, which reads, in part on
- 31:37Speaker 1: or about August eight, two thousand fourteen, Suge Knight threatened
- 31:41Speaker 1: to commit a crime which would result in death and
- 31:45Speaker 1: great bodily injury to Felix. That's what the F stands
- 31:48Speaker 1: for Felix Gary Gray. Sug was extremely unhappy with his
- 31:52Speaker 1: portrayal in the movie, and he sent the threat by text.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Sources connected with Sugar claimed the murder charge against him
- 31:59Speaker 1: is calling apart and they believe law enforcement is simple
- 32:03Speaker 1: simply out to get him. Get it. It's a strange story.
- 32:06Speaker 1: Yeah him, Yeah, he's in right, He's still in there. Right.
- 32:12Speaker 1: They got him for driving over that gay. Yeah. I
- 32:15Speaker 1: mean I saw the video, man, it was absolutely whole.
- 32:19Speaker 1: It was absolutely horrible. I had forgotten a part about
- 32:23Speaker 1: straight out of Compton, the movie and all of this though.
- 32:26Speaker 1: Let me just tell you during the time it happened.
- 32:29Speaker 1: What should I form it as a question? Yeah, if
- 32:32Speaker 1: you think, if you're asking yourself, then question to the question. Hey,
- 32:38Speaker 1: let me ask you a question. Okay, when black people
- 32:42Speaker 1: run over people with cars on video, do they traditionally
- 32:47Speaker 1: get away with that? Is that a question on the table,
- 32:50Speaker 1: just throwing it out there. Yeah, I'm just as I'm
- 32:54Speaker 1: gonna have to go with. No. So do you think
- 32:57Speaker 1: do you think that's another question right here? Do you
- 33:00Speaker 1: think they're in a likelihood? Yeah? If they was out
- 33:05Speaker 1: to get you, this tape would be helpfully worrying him.
- 33:10Speaker 1: Can I just say this good question, Steve, Yeah, brilliant,
- 33:14Speaker 1: don't you think so? Yeah? Do you think so? Junior?
- 33:18Speaker 1: But the answer it again is no, No, No, I
- 33:21Speaker 1: mean no, no, I mean don't you think, oh, yeah,
- 33:25Speaker 1: seeing this tape of him doing this, yeah, is a
- 33:29Speaker 1: good way for them to get him? Oh? Absolutely, yes, absolutely, yeah, Yeah,
- 33:33Speaker 1: I misunderstood the questions. Brilliant. Yeah. Do you also think
- 33:38Speaker 1: it's a likelihood that his ass is never gonna get
- 33:41Speaker 1: out of jail? I think in our lifetime, and I
- 33:44Speaker 1: like them, we won't see it. Tell you what they
- 33:48Speaker 1: took it there? Didn't mean you remember incident when sug
- 33:53Speaker 1: Knight got knocked out by the ball move that do
- 33:58Speaker 1: you think this threat is valid? No? And that information
- 34:03Speaker 1: than you really just start to deal with the problem
- 34:06Speaker 1: that had right now, knowing that there's a small time
- 34:10Speaker 1: in bomber knocked you out, do you really feel free
- 34:17Speaker 1: and where he is. Yes, you got that right. Wow.
- 34:25Speaker 1: I don't see it happening in a life time, you know. Yeah, Well,
- 34:29Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, I believe she's here. Yeah, she is
- 34:31Speaker 1: the one that only missed a trip. Thanks, Thanks Steve,
- 34:35Speaker 1: Thanks everybody. This is and trip with the news. Okay,
- 34:38Speaker 1: Special Counsel Robert Mueller is your portly impaneling a brand
- 34:41Speaker 1: new grand jury to look into Russian meddling in the
- 34:45Speaker 1: election and possible ties to the Trumpet campaign. Of course,
- 34:48Speaker 1: you know he's been investigating that. However, the President's lawyers
- 34:51Speaker 1: say they have no reason to believe that Donald Trump
- 34:54Speaker 1: himself is under investigation, and that the White House does
- 34:57Speaker 1: favor anything That quote accelerates the conclusion of Mulla's work fairly,
- 35:02Speaker 1: and the White House is committed to fully cooperating with
- 35:05Speaker 1: Mr neior leslie quote that the White House has sent out.
- 35:07Speaker 1: President Trump. Meanwhile, by the way, spoke last night at
- 35:10Speaker 1: a campaign style rally in West Virginia, and he called
- 35:13Speaker 1: the current Russia campaign probe just the Democrats being sore losers.
- 35:16Speaker 1: The reason why Democrats only talk about the totally made
- 35:21Speaker 1: up Russia story, it's because they have no message, no agenda,
- 35:27Speaker 1: and no vision. According to recent polls, Trump is still
- 35:30Speaker 1: strongly supported in West Virginia due to his status support
- 35:33Speaker 1: of the coal industry and Trump overwhelming one West Virginia
- 35:36Speaker 1: in the election, garnering six of the vote there By
- 35:40Speaker 1: the way, now West Virginia's governor, Jim Justice, has switched
- 35:43Speaker 1: parties again. Justice, a former Republican who became a Conservative Democrat,
- 35:48Speaker 1: is now switching back to the g O p okay.
- 35:51Speaker 1: Turning General Jeff Session is moving to punish so called
- 35:54Speaker 1: sanctuary cities, threatening with whole federal crime fighting resources to
- 35:57Speaker 1: those municipalities unless they step up their effort, he says,
- 36:00Speaker 1: to detain people living in this country illegally. The Justice
- 36:03Speaker 1: Department sent led us to for city so far Baltimore, Albuquerque, Stockton,
- 36:07Speaker 1: and San Bernardino, letting their officials know that they will
- 36:09Speaker 1: be ineligible for the government's crime program unless they give
- 36:13Speaker 1: immigration officers access to their jails and provide advanced notice
- 36:17Speaker 1: about anybody they intend prosecuting for something who happens to
- 36:20Speaker 1: be wanted on immigration violations. Okay. L L cool J
- 36:23Speaker 1: has been named the Kennedy Center's first Hip Hop Honoree
- 36:27Speaker 1: that's right. The rapper and actor became hip hop's first
- 36:30Speaker 1: sex symbol and first solo star thirty years ago in
- 36:34Speaker 1: l cou j became you know, really read sexy and
- 36:36Speaker 1: all that kind of stuff. Anyway, now, l L whose
- 36:39Speaker 1: government name is James Todd Smith, is to be inducted

- 36:49Speaker 1: the people that's going to be inducted with him choreographer

- 36:58Speaker 1: like All in the Family back in the day at
- 37:00Speaker 1: the Kennedy Center as well. This year's awards ceremony, by
- 37:03Speaker 1: the way, is to be held on Sunday, December three

- 37:25Speaker 1: the horn. Eugene the Butterfly twenty mins after the hour
- 37:28Speaker 1: from the Steve Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to the
- 37:31Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. The Butterfly. Eugene has the day off. Yeah, Butterfly, Yeah,
- 37:39Speaker 1: he's off today, So no more coling session. No, but seriously,
- 37:43Speaker 1: we'll bring the therapist back next well, Steve Junior, Jay,
- 37:51Speaker 1: you guys hear about this? Uh, Floyd Mayweather has agreed
- 37:54Speaker 1: to lighter gloves. He has agreed to lighter gloves, but
- 37:57Speaker 1: Nevada probably won't. Okay. Floyd Mayweather has said it. If
- 38:02Speaker 1: the info doesn't come directly from him, then it isn't true.
- 38:06Speaker 1: This one comes directly from his Instagram account. Floyd Mayweather
- 38:09Speaker 1: reached out to Connor McGregor and said that he'll fight
- 38:13Speaker 1: with eight ounce gloves like they do in the m
- 38:16Speaker 1: m A. Unfortunately, it's all talk because the officials in Nevada,
- 38:22Speaker 1: the gloves and the m m are eight hours. That's
- 38:24Speaker 1: that's what it says here. Normally fights with school. He
- 38:30Speaker 1: said he'll go down to eight for these. Yeah, he'll
- 38:32Speaker 1: go down. But I didn't know mixed Martial Arts was
- 38:34Speaker 1: eight houns gloves. I I thought they were lighted in
- 38:39Speaker 1: that UH officials in Nevada are highly unlikely to approve
- 38:43Speaker 1: anything less than ten outs Gloves the Mayweather versus McGregor fight.
- 38:47Speaker 1: As August six, we all know that Floyd is expected
- 38:50Speaker 1: to make over three hundred million dollars for the fight. Now,
- 38:53Speaker 1: what is the way? Gloves? Pretty much? Fight anybody for
- 38:56Speaker 1: three D Absolutely, I'll fight you right now in a studio,
- 39:01Speaker 1: but I'll be three come to you. Don't kill me. Yes,
- 39:06Speaker 1: I cut the deal, swing and miss get paid. I'll
- 39:13Speaker 1: just go ahead and lose the fight. Three My pre
- 39:16Speaker 1: fight gonna make your think I'm gonna I'm not in
- 39:21Speaker 1: the corner for three D million. I'm talking about No,
- 39:25Speaker 1: I'm talking about cold. Really, Steed, you would knock me out.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I would take that night. I know when you came
- 39:37Speaker 1: to how much you I know you're doing it for me.
- 39:43Speaker 1: I know your husband was going to deal with and
- 39:46Speaker 1: I deal with him more willing. I got three D Yeah,
- 39:51Speaker 1: the deal, y'all just tell him look at don't look man,
- 39:55Speaker 1: don't work. Yeah, the deal y'all. Let you were mad,
- 40:01Speaker 1: but not too much. I gotta beam. That's something to do.
- 40:08Speaker 1: I'm just what what are the what is the weight
- 40:10Speaker 1: of the gloves. Why is that an issue? I thought
- 40:13Speaker 1: the light of gloves fast, and then I thought was
- 40:20Speaker 1: light of it? They got to be light in that
- 40:21Speaker 1: because it's almost like a bad glove. I thought, what
- 40:26Speaker 1: this is gonna be is a raw I what raw
- 40:35Speaker 1: go be? If Floyd box this boy? For real? All right,
- 40:41Speaker 1: here we go coming out here, coming up after the break,
- 40:44Speaker 1: Jay Anthony Brown, murder another hit. You don't want to
- 40:49Speaker 1: miss it. We'll be back at you're listening Steve Harvey

- 41:02Speaker 1: you can't, Bobby Valentino. Thing, the role has been set.
- 41:06Speaker 1: If you're a singer, you know the rule is set.
- 41:11Speaker 1: This is even worse than that because I saw the video. Man.
- 41:16Speaker 1: I mean, you're running down the hallway with your trying
- 41:20Speaker 1: to block the camera. There's a couple of things wrong
- 41:23Speaker 1: with this video. If you just pay me, man. The
- 41:31Speaker 1: first thing of leaving well you ain't supposed to be.
- 41:34Speaker 1: It's had your keys and ship. That's the first thing
- 41:37Speaker 1: we'll talk about. We'll let people know what you're talking
- 41:39Speaker 1: about Bobby Valentino, got jammed up, and that's what the
- 41:44Speaker 1: song is about Bobby Valentino. And I'm said it once
- 41:48Speaker 1: and I'll say it again. If you're singing and you
- 41:50Speaker 1: do something stupid, it's gonna be a hit about you. Hey,
- 41:53Speaker 1: let me ask you a question, man, what is this song?
- 41:55Speaker 1: What is it to? What song? He had a hit song,
- 41:58Speaker 1: slow Down, Slow Down, Slow Down. That's probably his biggest
- 42:01Speaker 1: head big big yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah, you're gonna like
- 42:06Speaker 1: this one too. Yeah. And don't think I forgot you
- 42:09Speaker 1: are Kelly, because I ain't because I ain't got around
- 42:16Speaker 1: to it. This boy here salis about the mom. Ye
- 42:21Speaker 1: think I forgot hit it on the step? How the money?
- 42:25Speaker 1: You know, there's a lot of girls out there in
- 42:27Speaker 1: l a mel roy or no or not. And when
- 42:32Speaker 1: we're talking down on mail roads, I should have known
- 42:38Speaker 1: that you didn't sound like the girl. And your hand

- 53:12Speaker 1: baddest I'm talking about the baddest radio show in the land, Man,
- 53:16Speaker 1: Steve Harvey more on this show bad boy. Yeah, he's
- 53:23Speaker 1: one of these two days you've got several doses of
- 53:26Speaker 1: ignorant on this show. Well, if you're a football fan,
- 53:31Speaker 1: the countdown to football season is here. Guys, I know
- 53:33Speaker 1: all of you love football. Yes, it's time for me
- 53:37Speaker 1: to build my hate up. The first preseason game of
- 53:41Speaker 1: the season between the Cowboys, that's the one. Why does
- 53:44Speaker 1: everybody either the Cowboys cowboys can't stand them? Yeah, and
- 53:49Speaker 1: you hate them too, Steve right or as a child
- 53:51Speaker 1: line goes back, I don't hate them anymore? Okay, Well,
- 53:55Speaker 1: as I was saying, the first preseason game of the
- 53:57Speaker 1: season between the Cowboys and the Cardinals. Don't mean it
- 54:00Speaker 1: was last night. But there's some bad news here. Wing
- 54:04Speaker 1: prices are on the rise. Now, this is where we
- 54:06Speaker 1: need your attention. Chicken wings are going on ye now
- 54:13Speaker 1: you have you know how we love you know, we
- 54:19Speaker 1: love our wings while watching the game. So what people
- 54:22Speaker 1: are eating less red meat, So this means they're eating
- 54:24Speaker 1: more more maultry, more wings. To be exactly, black people
- 54:29Speaker 1: pronounce the black chicken. That's debatable, not deat you know,
- 54:40Speaker 1: my hair goes back and you know whatever, it's wings guys, No,
- 54:47Speaker 1: it's not not if you're doing today alright anyway, Strawberry
- 54:55Speaker 1: letter coming up next? Who married the You're listening to
- 55:03Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Show. Alright, uh, Strawberry letters up next.
- 55:08Speaker 1: You don't want to miss that, of course. But first,
- 55:10Speaker 1: President Trump uh insists that he never referred to the
- 55:13Speaker 1: White House as a real dump. You guys heard about
- 55:16Speaker 1: this and has nothing but love for the executive mansion.
- 55:19Speaker 1: This isn't an article that will appear in the new
- 55:22Speaker 1: issue of Sports. Illutrated members of the Trump National Golf
- 55:25Speaker 1: Club in Bedminster, New Jersey say the President told them
- 55:29Speaker 1: that he had been spending a lot of time there
- 55:31Speaker 1: because that White House is a real dump. But President
- 55:35Speaker 1: Trump insists the article is what he always says, fake news.
- 55:38Speaker 1: He tweeted last night, I love the White House, one
- 55:41Speaker 1: of the most beautiful buildings homes I've ever seen, But
- 55:44Speaker 1: fake news said I called it a dump. Totally untrue. Steve,
- 55:48Speaker 1: what did you say? Let me go ahead. I've been
- 55:51Speaker 1: to the Beau's Old. Oh it's scary and I can't
- 56:07Speaker 1: name as president included. Maniously, you know it's historical, but
- 56:19Speaker 1: I've been there enough times to just tell you I
- 56:23Speaker 1: stay in my creb any day. Okay, Well, I mean, honestly,
- 56:27Speaker 1: you did say that during the campaign, JA he's Steve
- 56:30Speaker 1: said that Donald Trump probably wouldn't spend a lot of
- 56:32Speaker 1: time because he's used to ball. The crib's scary. Regretfully, regretfully,
- 56:39Speaker 1: I say this regretfully. Okay, you sure you don't want
- 56:42Speaker 1: to now, this can't be a coution. Okay, regretfully, I
- 56:48Speaker 1: know what Donald Trump plays look like. Oh okay, I see,
- 56:53Speaker 1: I understand, refully got it with his only cry. It's decorating.
- 57:02Speaker 1: It's what they do. Okay, Okay, now I listen to me. Yeah,
- 57:05Speaker 1: because they're so rich, they know how to live. Now,
- 57:08Speaker 1: they got it. They got it. Okay, So it's a
- 57:10Speaker 1: real The White House is a real step down. The
- 57:13Speaker 1: word dump. No, no, it's not a dump by any stretch.
- 57:17Speaker 1: To imagine that. It is a step down from how
- 57:19Speaker 1: he's been, what he's used to. You better please understand
- 57:22Speaker 1: it is. And Milannia, I don't promise you. His wife
- 57:27Speaker 1: she went up there and went back and said, I
- 57:29Speaker 1: almost stay here. Can tell you something I don't. I don't.
- 57:37Speaker 1: I don't say anything disparaging about his wife because I
- 57:40Speaker 1: think she's wonderful. I met his daughter. I think his
- 57:43Speaker 1: daughter's really really sweet woman. You know, I don't, don't,
- 57:46Speaker 1: I don't. I don't mess with nobody's family. And that's
- 57:48Speaker 1: good because a lot of people tour up the first
- 57:51Speaker 1: lady when Michelle was in office. Michelle, but let me
- 57:54Speaker 1: tell you something, and and and and and they're saying
- 57:56Speaker 1: a lot of stuff about Donald Trump's wife too. I
- 57:59Speaker 1: just think that the wife and kids should be off
- 58:01Speaker 1: of limits. That's my belief. You should leave them alone.
- 58:05Speaker 1: When they attacked Michelle Obama, it was totally uncalled for.
- 58:09Speaker 1: But you attacked one of the most graceful, beautiful, but
- 58:14Speaker 1: smart women ever foot in that White House. You better
- 58:18Speaker 1: know that that woman right there was more than qualified
- 58:23Speaker 1: her attacks. You know, when him heel bill is attacked
- 58:25Speaker 1: in West Virginia. Oh yeah, yeahs to me, Well, your
- 58:30Speaker 1: bat asses out of work next day. All right, let's
- 58:35Speaker 1: let's do that letter. Sorry about that, I mean, excuse me.
- 58:38Speaker 1: It's her fat as per forming into a question. Alright,
- 58:44Speaker 1: buck up, hold on tight strawberry. Letter subject unsatisfied in
- 58:51Speaker 1: the bedroom. Hello, I'm a Midwesterner now currently residing in Memphis, Tennessee.
- 58:57Speaker 1: Since living here, I have begun dating this I he's
- 59:00Speaker 1: a little older, charming, smart, college educated, good job, no kids,
- 59:05Speaker 1: no failed or current marriages, and has been there for
- 59:08Speaker 1: me when I've needed him. With all these good qualities,
- 59:12Speaker 1: he has one really bad one that is important to me.
- 59:17Speaker 1: He's horrible in bed, all caps horrible. I don't think
- 59:24Speaker 1: anyone can get the true gist of what I mean
- 59:26Speaker 1: when I say he's horrible. He is challenged down there
- 59:31Speaker 1: and more often than not has reached his destination before
- 59:35Speaker 1: I even knew we were in the car. He also
- 59:39Speaker 1: enjoys what I do for him, but does not reciprocate,
- 59:42Speaker 1: although I have expressed that I'm a huge fan of
- 59:45Speaker 1: it as well. It's just bad all the way around.
- 59:48Speaker 1: We have had open and serious discussions about this issue,
- 59:52Speaker 1: and I don't know if he's embarrassed or what, but
- 59:54Speaker 1: this horrible bedroom performance, in my displeasure, seems to be
- 59:58Speaker 1: some sort of sick joke to him, at which I
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: don't find funny in the least bit. So I'm writing
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: you to ask what should I do because I really
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: like the man, but oh my goodness, his sex is
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: the worst. Please give advice quick fast, Thank you? Horrible Wow.
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: I really I really am at a loss as to
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: what to tell you. I don't know you know, you've
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: tried working with him, You've tried open and serious discussions
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: about it's still nothing. You know, you say he doesn't
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: take it serious. My question is, why are you still
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: doing it? Why are you still there with him? You know,
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: if it's that bad, if he's good, his charm and
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: all that doesn't outweigh the bad, you know, I mean,
- 1:00:37Speaker 1: they have all kinds of enhancement products. But but if
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: he's not interested, you know, maybe it's a medical issue
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: or something. I don't know. Steve, come on just ahead,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: unsatisfied in the bed room. Listen to this right here.
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: He's a little older, charming, smart, college educated, good job,
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: no kids, no failed or current marriages. Then later on
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: it says, with all these good qualities, he has one
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: really bad. That's important. He's horrible and bad. I don't
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: think you get the true just to what I mean
- 1:01:10Speaker 1: when I say he's horrible. Well, guess what, lady, That
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: explains the first half of your letter. He's horrible in bad.
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: That explains the no kids, the no failed or current marriages.
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: Ain't nobody having kids because he ain't that long enough
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: to make kids. Ain't nobody married him be cause ain't
- 1:01:29Speaker 1: nobody signing up for a lifetime of this miserable He
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: has no current or failed marriages, because who you know
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: the hell gonna say? I do to this hill mess
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: every day. That's why he's older. No kids, no marriages,
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: no nothing. See, and then you says he has no kids,
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: and and then you're gonna to say he's horrible. He's
- 1:01:52Speaker 1: challenged down now, he's challenged down there once again. That
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: explains no key, it's no failed or karringent marriages. But
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: then you say, and he has been there for me
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: when I needed him, lady, that's cost don't nobody else
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: won't him. He has time to be there. He'll be
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: there for you forever because he's not in popular demand.
- 1:02:19Speaker 1: He's sitting at the house right now, waiting on you
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: to come home. I ain't gonna be a player. Player
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: is a person who repetitively does something with persons of
- 1:02:30Speaker 1: the opposite sex. He ain't never been back twice except
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: with you, because you're the only one dumb enough to
- 1:02:37Speaker 1: understand that you don't get it. He ain't fit to
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: get good in the bed right here, you know? And
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: then you want to know, You want to know that
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: he always enjoys what I do for him that does
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: not reciprocate it, although I expect that I'm a huge fan. Well, hell,
- 1:02:51Speaker 1: start doing here and what he's doing to you nothing
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: you're listening. Coming up at forty one after our Nick
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: Cannon is going to be our special guests, we'll see
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: what's going on with him. But right now, come on, Steve,
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: finish your part two of your response to today's Strawberry Letters.
- 1:03:09Speaker 1: All right, there's nothing you can do for a man
- 1:03:14Speaker 1: that's doing this, So here's depart. Now. She's been having
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: serious discussion with this guy about his bedroom thing and
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: such a displeasure that it seems to be some sick
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: joke to him, at which I don't find funny in
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: the least bit. So I'm ready to you to ask
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: what should I do? Because I really liked the man,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: but oh my goodness, his sex is the worst. Well,
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: then you know, since he liked telling jokes, you've wrote
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: the right person. I think you should develop some nicknames
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: for him and start calling him nicknames since he won't
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: think it's all funny, and then that might get his attention. Like,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: for example, you could like call him like rash Rash,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: What does that mean then when he asked you just say,
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: because you feel like a little itch, what are you
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: calling blinky blink that as soon as you back your eyes,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: it's over. You can call him Pebbles. It's Jeff little Rocks.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: How about Mighty mouse Mouse. Yeah, he's mighty because he
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: takes care of bills in the house. But when he
- 1:04:32Speaker 1: makes love is like making love to a little houst.
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: I'm just throwing some How about flicker, Yeah, because when
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: you're loving him, he goes in and he out. He
- 1:04:47Speaker 1: go in and he out like that's a flicker. Call
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: him t I that's it. Call him snapshot, Steve Snapshot.
- 1:05:05Speaker 1: As soon as you press this button, it's over. I
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: got one for you. I got one. Go ahead, call
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: him Kanye so he can apologize. I got I got one.
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: I like that he called him kindergartener. Why because he
- 1:05:24Speaker 1: makes love like he's five. Hurt him like he hurting you. Yeah,
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: it seems like she's gonna stay. Huh. How about Cheetah.
- 1:05:39Speaker 1: You could call him cheetah because that's what he do
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: to you every night. He cheatah. All right, See, we
- 1:05:48Speaker 1: have to go, you know, we have to go. We're
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: running out of Time email or Instagram us your thoughts
- 1:05:55Speaker 1: on today's strawberry letter at my girl Shirley, Okay, switching gears. Uh,
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: well but Ja, this really nice? Uh Stuvenir in Paris.
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Don't show it to him yet. Don't show it to
- 1:06:08Speaker 1: j Jack, Ja, don't say nothing. He cry? He crying,
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: he cried, Jay, give it that to it? Hey here, yeah,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: Jay bought you that from past. Oh my god, your
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: hand out. This is so nice. Oh my god, Yes,
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: it's okay. Let me see what it is. It's a look,
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: it's half of a white woman's butt in a bikini.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: That's just parish bottom open. No, I'm not gonna use
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: just the open bottles at all. I'm gonna use it's
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: just so nice. I always wanted the top part. I
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: told you to give the top two woman bottom is
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: nice bottle. No, I'm not using for that, Steve. You're
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: thinking out the bob don't know you show me well,
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: I'm rubbing it, rubbing the white ladies behind. Yeah, what
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: is got a ceramics? Yeah? Jay used it as a
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: fidget spinners. They spin, they spinished. This shows you, guys, care,
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: that's what this shows. Ignorant have brought me back the lighter,
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: back out and beat the hell out of both of y'all.
- 1:07:36Speaker 1: This is what I want. Thank you. Love it and
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: the words of Bruno Mars that's what I like. And
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: I love how he feels perfectly comfortable than I have
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: marriage in this room women and now they got a
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: little money they did all right? That's white He is
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: so serious. Look at Steve. He loves black women. He does,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: my boy, Yes, I really do. Married a couple. Great
- 1:08:16Speaker 1: to be exactly. Hey, who's counting? Oh now we're counting?
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: Are you going to do it again? You have a
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: thinking you got serious? First of all, why would you
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: insult me like that? I mean, what the insults? I'm happy?
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: Oh my god, I'm so happy. Well what is it
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: about marriage that you don't like? H I think I
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: was clear. I think it's that part where you say
- 1:08:47Speaker 1: I do that part right there. You're just like being
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: on your own, being your own ball, not having to
- 1:09:01Speaker 1: answer to anyone checking what are you about? Single? For
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: a while? What are white Wind? Again? It's gonna go.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: I can't answer that question about white Wind. You said
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: it right there. White just what just white? I'm not
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: nothing him? And time of doing right now, yeah, so
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: I answered this questions how me didn't even say it?
- 1:09:37Speaker 1: What do you like about white women? What's that like?
- 1:09:43Speaker 1: Do you like them over black women? Happy birthday? Hey you,
- 1:09:57Speaker 1: thank you guys. Alright, switching gears Nick, and then we'll
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: be our special guest at forty one after the hour,
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: we'll be back. You're listening to the Steve Harvey Show.
- 1:10:07Speaker 1: All right, Steve. Earlier this week, you know, Nick Cannon
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: called in to talk to us about his brand new movie.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: It's called King of the Dance Hall. Nephew taught me
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: and all of us here at the morning crew had
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: a chance to talk to Nick about the movie King
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: of the Dance Hall, showing now on YouTube. Read here
- 1:10:23Speaker 1: we go. All right, coming up, our special guest as
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: a comedian, television host, actor, and produce a he's hugely
- 1:10:29Speaker 1: successful show is Wilding Out. We all have some tough
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: skin out from and you have to be very talented
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: to be on that show very quick. In addition to that,
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: he's got a new movie that he wrote, produce and
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: he's starting in It's the King of the Dance Hall.
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: King of the Dance Hall. He's joined us this one
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: and to tell us all about it. Put your hands together,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: the One the Only. Mr Nick Cannon. Nick, Good morning Nick.
- 1:11:03Speaker 1: We watched them grow up on TV. Man. Yeah, everything,
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: what's going on? Family, How y'all doing? Good Man? Tell
- 1:11:15Speaker 1: us about the man. King of the Dance Hall can
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: be seen on YouTube. Yeah, yeah, absolutely. I mean it's
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: it's dropping at the perfect time because you know, we
- 1:11:26Speaker 1: just had Emancipation Day in Jamaica and it's actually this
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: weekend is the Independence of Jamaica. So like, really, I
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: made this film because I wanted to share the culture
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: of Kingston and dance hall and how it originated. Because
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: we see so many influences from Beyonce to Rihanna dancing
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: in their videos to breaking Justin Beaver borrowing from the
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: culture to make their music, but we never really heard
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: the story in the mainstream way. And you know, if
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: you love Dirty Dancing and Saturday Night Faver and all
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: of those dance films, I felt like it was an
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: ample opportunity to display is a similar love story through
- 1:12:02Speaker 1: the dance culture of Jamaica. I like that. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: they got y Yeah what is the whole thing? Shot?
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: The whole thing shot in Jamaica. Yeah, we shot the
- 1:12:24Speaker 1: entire thing in Kingston. I mean my character is actually
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: from Brooklyn, so that the movie opens up in Brooklyn,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: but then from there, you know, we take that plane
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: ride and for the rest of the film we in Kingston, Jamaica.
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: I can't wait. Yeah, it's good. It's a it's a
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: great cast too. I mean, Whoopi Goldberg plays my mother,
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: Lucasa jrs. Uh that yeah. But Buster Rhymes is in
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: the film and everybody dance, Yeah, dance. Our coaches from
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: Beanie Man to Kamani Marley to all of these people
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: are in the film. So it's that. It's that. Yeah,
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: very powerful film with a great cast. Nick this one person,
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: I've asked God in here, you say it was in
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: the movie. Have y'all found SHOPA didn't make the movie
- 1:13:14Speaker 1: that hilarious? I just want to know, did your fans
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: Shopper looking looking for I'm gonna be hones with you.
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: We actually did reach out the shopper and Shopper got
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: so much money. Shopper good pretty here from the Okay,
- 1:13:35Speaker 1: his money, it's just ugly as he won't to be
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: just sitting over there just rich, even think about being
- 1:13:41Speaker 1: keep trying to get no make over, nothing, sit your
- 1:13:45Speaker 1: lass over there with all this one can be rich.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: But you know what I love about you, Nick, there's
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: so many layers to you every time, on and on
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: and on with your talent, keep revealing everything, you know,
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: that's what we love about you. And as we mentioned earlier,
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: we've watched you grow on TV and too the men
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: you are today, and we you know, we can't do
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: anything but respect that and respect your talent. Thank you
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: so much. And I mean, you know, I learned from
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: you know, mentors like Steve and know there's Yeah, I've
- 1:14:20Speaker 1: just watched to be able to display myself as an
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: artist on many different forms, whether it's film, television, the stage, music,
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: all of that stuff. So I've been blessed enough to
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: you know, wake up and be creative each day. So
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: I just I take you. I take you as as
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: a gift from God. So you know, however I can
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: display it, that's what I'm gonna do. Yeah, and what's
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: up with the turbans, Nick, Yeah, my crown, my sovereignty,
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: that's what to speak on spirituality for a second. I
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: mean a lot of people thought it was mainly a
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: fashion statement, but it was definitely me uh, doing a
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: lot of spiritual understanding in the world of seek is
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: m and my Morrish background and mentality of just understanding
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: who we are as the Native people and just we
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: we from kings, you know. And a lot of times
- 1:15:01Speaker 1: I feel like you have to change and shift that
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: narrative because we glorify so many things in our community
- 1:15:07Speaker 1: and we want to point blame. But until we understand
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: who we truly are as a people, uh that we
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: won't have growth. So I feel like if I could
- 1:15:14Speaker 1: be a representation of something different, something unique, and if
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: it stands firm and people ask the question about my
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: turban on my spiritual beliefs, I have the opportunity to
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: share that. Nick, I like the turban I just don't
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: know where to get them at. They ain't that Mason.
- 1:15:27Speaker 1: I don't know where you boy, I'm start a little
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: turban line. We'll tell you what you put me on
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: while or not. I put one on, two turbans on
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: that King of the King of the Dance Hall. When
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: does it drop? Nick? It's out now. You can catch
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: it on YouTube. Read it's available for everybody all around
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: the world. Google Play all of that stuff. So you
- 1:15:51Speaker 1: know that's the reason why I released it. This way
- 1:15:53Speaker 1: so everybody can have access to it. All right, we
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: can't wait to see it. We can't wait to see it. Man,
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: thanks for calling brother, no doubt. Thanks for having w
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: W W want to you're listening to the Steve Harvey Show.
- 1:16:16Speaker 1: All right. There's a new app called Calm the A L. L.
- 1:16:21Speaker 1: Calm brand new app. It's a bedtime story reader to
- 1:16:25Speaker 1: help adults go to sleep. So if you have problems
- 1:16:27Speaker 1: going to sleep at night. I don't know if any
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: of us on this show has that issue because we
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: have to get up so early, but anyway, it's an
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: app that features bedtime stories written just for adult grown people.
- 1:16:39Speaker 1: The tales are meant to help us transition from our
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: hectic daily lives to the relaxing night. Uh. Instead of
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: stimulating our brains like TV and scrolling through social media,
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: do column is here to power down your mind. The
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: stories are like many audio books with soothing voices to
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: lull you to dreamland. Why should work on this story
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: that once spun the time there was a famous R
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: and B singer who got trapped in the room with
- 1:17:04Speaker 1: the transvest state that he didn't pay the transvestate with
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: various state here he had to leave and not pay
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: the transvestate the transvest that end of story. That hang story.
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: Like I was when R. Kelly was doing the Trapped
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: in the Close, I couldn't wait a version. Now, well,
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: I thought it was a gies. It came about the
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: clothe the dog. It was absolutely brilliant. It was you
- 1:17:40Speaker 1: were trying to figure out what was going to happen next,
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: who was going to come out of the closet, what
- 1:17:45Speaker 1: was going on in the closet, all of that. Yeah, hey,
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: this it would just be a good app for Little
- 1:17:49Speaker 1: Timey stores. I did asked him, would it be a
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: good app Junior? That is the most brilliant thing you've
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: ever said on the show. Today you lay down in
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: the bed, Nantha. Hello, boys and girl, that'd be perfect.
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: I think it's time for another Loud Times story. You
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: know what what I think we should try one right now.
- 1:18:18Speaker 1: That's go for it. We're boys and girls. It is okay.
- 1:18:26Speaker 1: Once upon a time, Once upon a time, Yes, that
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: was a boy name you know who ties and he
- 1:18:38Speaker 1: became a big Loud timing. He got a job on
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning shown he could put him to work.
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: Everything was going good. It was he was making money
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: hand over fist enough to buy him a shot too.
- 1:18:58Speaker 1: He bought houses, gates and calls on Instagram and miles
- 1:19:04Speaker 1: and Rode. Yes, he bought everything. Little Tommy was bouling.
- 1:19:12Speaker 1: Did he have a stylist to help him pick out
- 1:19:14Speaker 1: his clothes? Uncle Steve one soup Like most rich people,
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: his stylish only picked out one who then it was good,
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: so he felt so. Anyway, Yes, timing was just bawling
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: and balling and bawling. And then he bought all his
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: bawling to his uncle's attention, and that what happened happened, Well,
- 1:19:43Speaker 1: his uncle happened to be really balling morning, timming way
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: molding time to the point where time is bawling. It
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: was actually marvelous. His ball had turned into a marvel. No,
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: not a marvel, just a little black marvel with an
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: orange cat. Uncle really was show dear. And the more
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: he realized how hard his uncle was balling, unless he
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: thought of himself. So one day on the radio they
- 1:20:24Speaker 1: were having a conversation. Okay, oh, it was about a
- 1:20:31Speaker 1: very simple thing. What his uncle one day was trying
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: to find someone to stretch him because he's working out again.
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: So he asked a girl on the show with the
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: crazy voice, Mississippi Monica, can you please tell me a
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: way that people could send in suggestions for a great
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: stretcher in l A. You mean the one that got
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: bumped by the car. Yeah. Yeah, we call her the
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: amount of the self shade. He's a very attractive young lady.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: Cute is a button. Can't cross the street through because
- 1:21:13Speaker 1: they can't see her. Did she have big boobies? You
- 1:21:17Speaker 1: must have the wrong that's her head. I'm sorry we
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: distracted you, Uncle Steve. So anyway, people was trying to
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: figure out how they can help Uncle Steve find a stretching. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: so right while I was waiting on Monica to tell
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: me how they could call in, little nephew was not
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: paying attention because he doesn't listen to hear. He listens
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: for an opening way he can respond. So he just
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: fired off. She already told you one more time? He responded,
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: told you so, you know, Uncle being Uncle the big ball,
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: and Uncle shut his fingers in the casket real hall.
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: He slammed him down and caught his little raccoon hands
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: in that casket. Every minded him that the reason you're
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: trying to get this information out of order. It's the
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: same way you sell your monk hands and that right down,
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: Oh lord, through little Timmy into depression. He realized right
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: there once again, what that that that he had? The
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: disease call has that disease call has stands He ain't,
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: Sugar Steve, there's no such dissease called heads, Oh yesterday?
- 1:23:12Speaker 1: Did you just make that up? He he ain't. And
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: that was the end of Tommy story. The reason we
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: can tell it because he's outsick, he's outside. We gotta go.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: It could come out of nowhere. Show. Oh man, you're
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: listening to Steven show. So when we all love she's
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: a friend to the show, we love her, especially you, Steve.
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: The one and only, the legend Miss Pattie LaBelle. As
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: Pattie LaBelle story about her. She's letting everyone know that
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: she is not a diva. A lot of people call
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: her a diva because she's so talented, not because of
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: anything negative, but just because of her career and and
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: you know, her singing ability and all of that. Her talent.
- 1:24:10Speaker 1: She explained, if I do daytime divas, which I did,
- 1:24:14Speaker 1: and if I did Diva's the concert, of course I'm
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: gonna be in it. But I'm not saying I'm a diva.
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: So she's saying she's done. Yeah, she she's done. You know,
- 1:24:25Speaker 1: diva's the concert. But she's not a diva. She's one
- 1:24:28Speaker 1: of the nicest people. I mean, several times, he is
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: such an I don't really think that diva should be
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: considered a negative connotation because you want what you want.
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. Diana Ross the diva of
- 1:24:44Speaker 1: all divas, but one of the nicest people that yes,
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: is a real sweetheart. She was cold. She's my favorite,
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: hands down, shut its down. She's the truth because she's
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: the real. Oh you saw, yeah, I did not know that.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: That was the talk of the entire essence. How Diana
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: Ross came in and just wrecked it. Diana Ross, she's
- 1:25:11Speaker 1: such a nice lady. I mean, and I worked for it.
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: I worked with the diatons down the Ross, Paddy La
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: Belle and Aretha Franklin. They just want what they want.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: They're really nice people. I've never had any problems and
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: they should get what they want. You pay to do.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: They are the reason Whitney exists, Mariah Curry exists, beyond
- 1:25:34Speaker 1: Jenny Jackson, Beyonce Alicia, Mary Jabad Scott. Let us see.
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: You can go don Tony, you can go down the
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: list of all of the and we listed some great singers.
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: We did. We did. All of them are because of
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: Diana Ross, Paddle, La Bell Bay, Gladys Knight, Gladdus Knight.
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: It's one of the coolest people, I'm telling you. But
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: they know how to do it. I need a breaker
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: know how to do it. Them girls performed. Man, they're
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: not clowning. Shaka Khan come to work. That powerhouse of
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: a voice listened to me. But because of those women,
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: the ones we listed exist. But most of them women
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: they knew that be honestly, will give credit to them girls.
- 1:26:33Speaker 1: They know what they do. They do them women right
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: there was about it because if you're a true artist,
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: if you do study the greats, and let me tell
- 1:26:46Speaker 1: you something, all them women we name they ask could
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: blow greatness, flat out blow. Mcdear knows how to blow.
- 1:26:56Speaker 1: I just was trying to put some fun in. It's
- 1:26:58Speaker 1: all a tad. Okay, Yeah, let's just go ahead and
- 1:27:05Speaker 1: go uh okay you again again. May I remind you
- 1:27:15Speaker 1: you hired him and said yeah, but we'll deal with
- 1:27:23Speaker 1: you during the break, sir, we'll be back right after this.
- 1:27:27Speaker 1: You're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. Now. This
- 1:27:31Speaker 1: is according to Business Journal, this is a new survey
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: that finds that a lot of employees would rather have
- 1:27:37Speaker 1: more vacation rather than a pay raise. Yeah. If given
- 1:27:42Speaker 1: the choice of people would actually rather have more paid
- 1:27:46Speaker 1: vacation time than a paid raise. While we're always, yeah,
- 1:27:51Speaker 1: we're always hearing about us employees not using up all
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: their paid vacation each year, it seems like a lot
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: of folks really do want more time off. In fact,
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: a new survey find that have given the choice of
- 1:28:02Speaker 1: the people, would actually rather have more paid vacations than
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: a paid race. I can't say that enough. Do you
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: think you'd rather have more vacation time or a paid raise? Yeah.
- 1:28:16Speaker 1: I'm kind of on the fence with this one because
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: I don't take a lot of vacations, which is crazy.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: If you give me sick days, I'm taking them one.
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: I don't take a lot of vacation, I really don't.
- 1:28:28Speaker 1: I don't hand it ain't an option. You got to
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: tell me about a six days YEA, you'll say no,
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I'm all, yeah, I guarantee I'm taking my sick days.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: I guess I would be I've got to pay raise.
- 1:28:40Speaker 1: I guess i'd be that that person. Yeah, instead of
- 1:28:43Speaker 1: vacation days, because I barely rarely take the ones that
- 1:28:46Speaker 1: I have. I'm right now. I love you a lot,
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: but something is really really wrong with you. It is
- 1:28:55Speaker 1: it is? Am I a workaholic? Well one? I laugh?
- 1:29:01Speaker 1: I think I think your I think your bus bushings
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: borderlines and tips off into stupid you calling me to you,
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: and if your bush nous is overrunning you and it
- 1:29:19Speaker 1: tips over into stupidity, because why your ass won't take
- 1:29:24Speaker 1: your vacation supposed to be on vacation? Now take it.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: You put in for it, and I put in for it,
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: and I'm here. Can I have your days? Let me
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: tell you something, Okay, told me Steve, you can take
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: off from now all of your jobs and we'll just
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: send you the check. Oh yeah, who wouldn't sign up
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: for that? My asses go? Yeah, oh I'm doing that.
- 1:29:54Speaker 1: I'm gone. Okay, let me ask you this question. Whatever
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: your salary is, if somebody gave you three years of
- 1:30:02Speaker 1: your salary and gave it to you at one time,
- 1:30:05Speaker 1: would you quit your job? No? Hell? Now I got
- 1:30:10Speaker 1: to be in here and running the board. Move over.
- 1:30:13Speaker 1: I like I like having a purpose. Yeah, I think
- 1:30:18Speaker 1: that's what I like. Having a purpose. Definitely, I have
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: something to do. I like this. So so let me
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: ask you your salary, your salary for three years, would
- 1:30:28Speaker 1: you quit all of your straight out of here? Yeah,
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: well it's a little different and would not note home
- 1:30:41Speaker 1: and Aryl Marjorie and she'd be all right with that decision.
- 1:30:45Speaker 1: What we're gonna do, you can live off of it.
- 1:30:48Speaker 1: I'm sure what we're gonna do. Now, listen to me.
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: We're gonna slow down. I'm gonna slow down. We buy
- 1:30:56Speaker 1: a couple of things, and we're gonna lock it down.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: Then I'm gonna go back and get another a show
- 1:31:03Speaker 1: right now, right now, trip, we slow down. All right,
- 1:31:15Speaker 1: we'll be back right after this to close out the
- 1:31:17Speaker 1: show with just one more thing? Or should I say
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: thank thank Hey, you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show.
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: All right, we're back. This is it, man, this is it? Well,
- 1:31:30Speaker 1: just one more thing. Las Alonzo was our special guest
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: earlier this week the other day and the movie Detroit,
- 1:31:37Speaker 1: which Jay and I have both seen. This good. It's
- 1:31:41Speaker 1: in theaters right now. It's so good. Please make it
- 1:31:44Speaker 1: part of your weekend. So you're getting baby, Yeah, it's
- 1:31:52Speaker 1: it's part that and then part of the story about
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: the beginning of the Dramatics, the singing group from Most Town.
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: So what we want you to do right now is
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: we've seen you out. Check out our interview with Las.
- 1:32:06Speaker 1: Good morning, welcome, welcome you boy. Oh man, I'm so
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: happy to be here on your show. You know, I
- 1:32:15Speaker 1: love coming on here and sharing, you know, sharing a
- 1:32:17Speaker 1: little bit of love with y'all. Man, We're glad to
- 1:32:20Speaker 1: have you. Let me tell you something, Lass. The girls
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: have seen Detroit. Okay, I mean Detroit already. Everyone has
- 1:32:28Speaker 1: to see this movie. Everyone in the world has so
- 1:32:32Speaker 1: good Now, Las, you played Congressman John Conyers in the movie.
- 1:32:37Speaker 1: The movie is good. I saw it here in l A.
- 1:32:39Speaker 1: It's so powerful. Let's talk about it. Well. You know,
- 1:32:42Speaker 1: the movie takes place in nineteen sixty seven, and I
- 1:32:45Speaker 1: think that the most important part about this film is,
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: you know, a lot of people call it the riot.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: You know, We've chosen to call it a rebellion because
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: a rebellion is what happens when people who feel like
- 1:32:55Speaker 1: they are not being seen and they are not being heard.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: Finally have enough and stay end up and demand to
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: be heard. And that's really what the political climate was
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: back in nineteen sixty seven. Another thing is that this
- 1:33:06Speaker 1: is just one story of three hundred. There were over
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: three hundred of these that were going on all over
- 1:33:13Speaker 1: the country in that decade alone, in the sixties alone,
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: you know, so, knowing that as a backdrop kind of
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: sets the tone for it just Buzzn't one incident where
- 1:33:23Speaker 1: we have just happened to have police violence happened in
- 1:33:27Speaker 1: Detroit and black people decided to burn the city down, No,
- 1:33:30Speaker 1: this was happening over three hundred times all over the country,
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: you know. So, so knowing that when we go into
- 1:33:37Speaker 1: this film, it kind of helps remind us of where
- 1:33:40Speaker 1: we were back then in a weird way. Surely it
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: connects us to where we are now as well. Absolutely,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: the Absolutely, that's what I was thinking when I saw
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: the film. This happened fifty years ago, but it's still
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: happening today with police brutality and how they handle it,
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: and these police who maybe are brought up on these charges,
- 1:33:58Speaker 1: but somehow miraculously they that off unscathed, you know. Yeah,
- 1:34:03Speaker 1: and yeah, and that that's the sad part. You're absolutely right.
- 1:34:06Speaker 1: They also told the story about how the dramatics got started. Right,
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: that's one of Steve's last He's about favorite groups of
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: all times. Right, Yeah, it was a lot. It was
- 1:34:20Speaker 1: a lot of cocko doodle dooring was when the dramatics came.
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: Come on, come on boy, stop that last man. I
- 1:34:31Speaker 1: was listening to you, Steve, and I was like, man,
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: y'all reminded me when I caught my cocko dorough the
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: dormoudn't been there too. I heard a couple of loos
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: in my in my handhouse. Last you, no one would
- 1:34:46Speaker 1: ever think that about you, because you're tall and fine
- 1:34:48Speaker 1: and rich and sexy and all those things. Right. The
- 1:34:51Speaker 1: farm is a farm. But you know what I think
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: this movie does. It helps us be able to emphathize
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: with what's going on. You know, a lot of times.
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: Right now, we see the cell phone camera footage. We
- 1:35:03Speaker 1: see it played five thousand times in the news. You know,
- 1:35:06Speaker 1: we see a five second clip and then we see
- 1:35:09Speaker 1: a mug shot and a criminal history, you know. And
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: in this film, you actually get to see families, you know,
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: you get to see loved ones, You get to see
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: people that kick you in the morning, you know, and
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: wish your safe returns, daughters, mothers, you know, family members.
- 1:35:23Speaker 1: It helps you see the full story on both sides. Actually,
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: it's it's really interesting how she shot. You know, Katherin
- 1:35:28Speaker 1: Bigelow usually does war film, Yes she does. She didn't.
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: You feel like, you know, yes, there are thirty her
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: Locker and you feel like you are in a war
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: when you're watching this film and it and it really was.
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: You know that that's really important lives that you said that,
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: because a lot of times you don't know how these
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: things get started. You don't and sometimes it's just so
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: innocent and people are just so tired of being treated
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: a certain way, and it takes one person to do
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: something and then you know, all hell breaks loose. I'm
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: actual le right now at the African American uh African
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: American Museum here in d C. Taking a toll with
- 1:36:05Speaker 1: my family. So I'm over on the side during this call.
- 1:36:07Speaker 1: But the interesting thing was during in one of the displays,
- 1:36:11Speaker 1: it shows how African Americans had to have, you know,
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: like underground clubs and underground bars just to be able
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: to have a business in an area that did not
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: give black people moan absolutely, you know. So so that's
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: where our story begins. You know, you had a guy
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: who came home from the Vietnam War at this place
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: called the Blind Pig in Detroit, you know, a little
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: underground bar. Police came and broke it up, and they
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: just went overboard and people were people have had enough. Yeah,
- 1:36:41Speaker 1: that's what it was. It just took that one one
- 1:36:43Speaker 1: time they had enough and and it just went from there.
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: Detroit such a powerful, powerful, powerful movie. I encourage everyone
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: to see it. Uh your role was important in the movie.
- 1:36:55Speaker 1: Uh lads, of course, young Algae Smith. You guys will
- 1:36:59Speaker 1: remember him. He played uh Rab tres vand in the
- 1:37:02Speaker 1: New Edition story and uh such a he's the one
- 1:37:05Speaker 1: that played the leader of the dramatics at the time. Yeah. Yeah,
- 1:37:10Speaker 1: it was really such a great movie. Anthony Mackie's in it.
- 1:37:14Speaker 1: But you guys have to see it. It's an important
- 1:37:17Speaker 1: story just to look at what happened fifty years ago.
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: And now, hey, we're gonna get out to a laws Listen, man,
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: I appreciate your calling it. Get on back to your family, man,
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: and join the museum up there. I gotta get up
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: out of heard some great things about it. Yeah, I've
- 1:37:30Speaker 1: been up to a laws man. We love you, man,
- 1:37:32Speaker 1: Thank you. I love you too, brother. You know I
- 1:37:33Speaker 1: support you all the time. And lows over did what
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: she didn't find you. That's not a kind of familiar Yeah,
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: how would have work? What it hurt? Alright, boy, we
- 1:38:04Speaker 1: appreciate you. Alright, let's have a great weekend. Everybody, you're
- 1:38:08Speaker 1: listening to the same Harvey Morning Show.
