- 0:01Speaker 1: If we weren't there, if we didn't bring in the
- 0:04Speaker 1: National Good and the Marines, you would probably have a
- 0:07Speaker 1: city that was burning to the ground, just like it
- 0:10Speaker 1: was a number of months ago with the housing. You
- 0:12Speaker 1: would have had a big problem there if we were
- 0:14Speaker 1: In fact, the police chief said so much if you
- 0:16Speaker 1: look at what his statements where he said, we're.
- 0:18Speaker 2: Very lucky to have had that.
- 0:19Speaker 1: If we weren't there, that city would have been burning
- 0:21Speaker 1: to the ground. Was burning right now.
- 0:23Speaker 3: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:27Speaker 2: Good Thursday morning.
- 0:28Speaker 4: It is the forty seven Morning Update, and it's so
- 0:31Speaker 4: nice to have you with us.
- 0:32Speaker 2: And we've got two big stories for you.
- 0:34Speaker 4: Donald Trump speaking out when asked about will he be
- 0:38Speaker 4: pulling back the military presence in la this after he
- 0:43Speaker 4: has said he will send wherever he needs to the
- 0:46Speaker 4: National Guard to protect American cities. We also have a
- 0:51Speaker 4: very big report as well on where the money's coming from,
- 0:54Speaker 4: and an official investigation has been launched in Congress by
- 0:58Speaker 4: Senator Josh Hall. We'll give you the details of the organizations,
- 1:03Speaker 4: and the scary part is some of your tax dollars
- 1:05Speaker 4: were going to some of these groups. It's the forty
- 1:09Speaker 4: seven Morning Update and it starts right now.
- 1:12Speaker 3: Story number one.
- 1:13Speaker 4: Senater Josh Holly has not only launched an investigation to
- 1:17Speaker 4: who's funding the LA riots, but we're getting breaking news
- 1:21Speaker 4: right now that the list has expanded from what happened
- 1:26Speaker 4: earlier in the day. Senator Josh Holly, who chairs a
- 1:30Speaker 4: Senate Judiciary subcommittee on Crime and counter Terrorism, launching this
- 1:34Speaker 4: new investigation into who is funding the Los Angeles riots
- 1:38Speaker 4: and other riots that are now breaking out around the country.
- 1:42Speaker 2: Now, what we knew earlier was this there.
- 1:45Speaker 4: Was a target, the Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of
- 1:49Speaker 4: Los Angeles. It's a non profit pro immigration group. The
- 1:54Speaker 4: allegation was very clear they may have provided logistical support
- 1:58Speaker 4: and financial resources to individuals involved in the protests and
- 2:03Speaker 4: escalated it into riots, obviously on purpose. Now, the formal
- 2:07Speaker 4: requests he sent to this group and the executive director
- 2:10Speaker 4: demanded the preservation and the production of financial documents and
- 2:14Speaker 4: donor lists, travel and coordination records, and documents related to
- 2:19Speaker 4: protest planning from November fifth of twenty twenty four to
- 2:23Speaker 4: the present. Well, here is now what has happened since
- 2:27Speaker 4: that first letter, Holly's office has now come out saying
- 2:30Speaker 4: we are launching investigation to other groups as well, not
- 2:35Speaker 4: just the original one named. Who else is being added well,
- 2:39Speaker 4: the Party for Socialism and Liberation out of San Francisco, California.
- 2:44Speaker 4: The letter reads this way, to whom it may concern,
- 2:47Speaker 4: I write, in my capacity is the chair of the
- 2:49Speaker 4: Senate Subcommittee on Crime and counter Terrorism, regarding your organization's
- 2:53Speaker 4: alleged role in financing and material support coordinated protests and
- 2:59Speaker 4: riot that have engulfed Los Angeles in recent weeks. While
- 3:03Speaker 4: peaceful protests is a cornerstone of American democracy, these demonstrations
- 3:08Speaker 4: have escalated into lawless mob actions. They have obstructed federal
- 3:12Speaker 4: law enforcement, endangered public safety, and disrupted the rule of law.
- 3:17Speaker 4: This lawlessness is unacceptable and it must end. He also stated,
- 3:22Speaker 4: this credible reporting now suggests that your organization, the Party
- 3:26Speaker 4: for Socialism and Liberation, has provided logistical support and financial
- 3:31Speaker 4: resources to individuals that are engaged in these disruptive actions.
- 3:36Speaker 2: Let me be.
- 3:37Speaker 4: Clear, bank rolling civil unrest is not protected speech. It
- 3:41Speaker 4: is aiding in abetting criminal conduct. Accordingly, you must immediately
- 3:45Speaker 4: cease and assist any further involvement in these organizations in
- 3:49Speaker 4: the organization, funding, or promotion of these unlawful activities. Now
- 3:55Speaker 4: there's a long list of things that Holly is asking for,
- 3:59Speaker 4: including all internal communications including emails, text messages, chat logs,
- 4:05Speaker 4: messaging apps, relate to the protests, relate to the planning,
- 4:09Speaker 4: the coordination, or funding. He is also demanding that all
- 4:12Speaker 4: financial documents related to the protests, the demonstrations, or mobilization
- 4:16Speaker 4: efforts in LA are elsewhere in the country relating to
- 4:19Speaker 4: immigration enforcement. He also said if there are any third
- 4:22Speaker 4: party contacts or vendor agreements, including any arrangements with event organizers,
- 4:28Speaker 4: transportation providers, security personnel, or communications consultants relating to immigration
- 4:36Speaker 4: enforcement or the Los Angeles protests or similar protests elsewhere.
- 4:41Speaker 4: He also asked for grant applications and funding proposals that
- 4:45Speaker 4: relate to or reference immigration enforcement, as well as travel
- 4:50Speaker 4: and lodging records for individuals or groups supported or reimbursed
- 4:55Speaker 4: in connection with protests activities. He also said we must
- 4:59Speaker 4: have media or pub relation strategies, including your talking points,
- 5:02Speaker 4: press releases, and coordination with journalists or influencers related to
- 5:07Speaker 4: immigration protests. And finally, the big one, yet again, the
- 5:11Speaker 4: donor list. Josh Holly the chairman of the Subcommittee on
- 5:14Speaker 4: Crime and counter Terrorism in the US Senate, said failure
- 5:17Speaker 4: to comply will result in additional actions by the Subcommittee,
- 5:21Speaker 4: including potential referral for criminal investigations. So that letter has
- 5:26Speaker 4: now gone out to the Party for Socialism and Liberation. Well,
- 5:31Speaker 4: Josh Holly isn't done there. He has now also sent
- 5:34Speaker 4: a letter to Ron Gochez, spokesman for the Union Day
- 5:38Speaker 4: del Barrio, demanding the exact same things that they demanded
- 5:42Speaker 4: for the Party for Socialism and Liberation, as well as
- 5:45Speaker 4: the earlier letter in the Day that went to the
- 5:48Speaker 4: original group asking what do you know, when did you
- 5:51Speaker 4: know it? And how long have you been funding it?
- 5:54Speaker 4: With the Coalition for quote Humane Immigrant Rights. So that
- 5:59Speaker 4: now brings me to Josh Holly and what do he
- 6:01Speaker 4: had to say tonight on Fox News Channel when speaking
- 6:04Speaker 4: with Jesse Waters take a listen.
- 6:06Speaker 2: Senator Josh Holly joins us. Now all right.
- 6:08Speaker 5: Senator Tolsy Gaberg has said that these riots in LA
- 6:11Speaker 5: and all over the country are orchestrated. Can you tell
- 6:14Speaker 5: us anything about that?
- 6:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I think that's absolutely right, Jesse. These aren't spontaneous
- 6:18Speaker 6: at all. They're about as authentic as Astro Turf. They
- 6:21Speaker 6: are bought and paid for flash mobs, and I want
- 6:24Speaker 6: to know who's doing the buying and the paying. That's
- 6:26Speaker 6: why today I've launched an investigation. I've sent multiple investigative
- 6:29Speaker 6: demands today to various groups out on social media claiming
- 6:34Speaker 6: they are paying for this, they are organizing it, they
- 6:37Speaker 6: are financing it. We've all seen the videos of vans
- 6:39Speaker 6: driving up, handing out gas masks right before somebody blows
- 6:42Speaker 6: up a car. It's time we found out where's the
- 6:45Speaker 6: money coming from, Who's really behind this. I think the
- 6:47Speaker 6: American people deserve answers.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Senator Holly wasn't done there.
- 6:51Speaker 4: He also talked about these riders, and he made it
- 6:54Speaker 4: very clear that these rioters know who their ally is.
- 6:57Speaker 2: It's the Democratic Party.
- 6:59Speaker 5: When they're saying, don't believe what you see on TV
- 7:02Speaker 5: and there's no violence at all, doesn't that kind of
- 7:05Speaker 5: remind you of the Biden cover up, oh.
- 7:07Speaker 6: One hundred percent, it's the same thing, don't believe you're
- 7:09Speaker 6: lying eyes. Meanwhile, they're out there blowing up cars on
- 7:12Speaker 6: the one oh one. They're assaulting cops, they're rushing federal buildings,
- 7:16Speaker 6: they're burning down shops. It's all on television and we
- 7:19Speaker 6: can see it with our own eyes. I'm just glad
- 7:21Speaker 6: Trump isn't letting the city burn. I mean, Gavin Newsom
- 7:24Speaker 6: would allow his state to burn for the second time
- 7:26Speaker 6: in the year. And the worst part is somebody is
- 7:29Speaker 6: paying for all of this and they're trying to spread it, Jesse,
- 7:32Speaker 6: just like you reported, they're trying to spread it across
- 7:34Speaker 6: the country, to Chicago, to Saint Louis, to Seattle, New York, everywhere.
- 7:38Speaker 6: We got to figure out who is behind this. And
- 7:41Speaker 6: by the way, why is the Democrat Party now basically
- 7:44Speaker 6: an extended mental ward? I mean, what has happened to
- 7:46Speaker 6: these people?
- 7:47Speaker 4: They're nuts, They're nuts, He's right, But it's also the
- 7:50Speaker 4: reality of what they're doing, what they're advocating for, and
- 7:53Speaker 4: the flag that they're flying, you know, the Mexican flag.
- 7:58Speaker 2: You know.
- 7:58Speaker 5: You notice that CNN never even interviews anybody at the riot.
- 8:02Speaker 5: We have clips of them and you can see why
- 8:04Speaker 5: Ciinan doesn't want to talk to them because they look insane.
- 8:07Speaker 5: Your colleagues in the Senate do they support these people?
- 8:10Speaker 5: Do they think this is good politically for the Democrat Party?
- 8:14Speaker 6: Well, that's what they're acting like I mean, they're out
- 8:16Speaker 6: there saying all peaceful protests.
- 8:18Speaker 2: It's all peaceful.
- 8:19Speaker 6: And by the way, this is Donald Trump's fault. And I'm like, really,
- 8:21Speaker 6: Donald Trump's fault. Gee, I missed it when Donald Trump
- 8:23Speaker 6: went and blew up a car on Highway one oh one.
- 8:26Speaker 6: I didn't see him when he was assaulting cops. What
- 8:28Speaker 6: I saw was a bunch of lunatics who were waving
- 8:31Speaker 6: the Mexican flag and other flags while they burned our own.
- 8:34Speaker 6: And by the way, Jesse, we ought to penalize people
- 8:36Speaker 6: who burn the American flag while they're committing a crime.
- 8:39Speaker 6: If you do that, you ought to have your prison
- 8:41Speaker 6: sentence doubled. It's time to get serious with these people.
- 8:44Speaker 6: It's a law and order time in America. No more
- 8:47Speaker 6: of this nonsense.
- 8:48Speaker 5: So it's like an extra what two years if you
- 8:52Speaker 5: burn a flag and the commission of a felony.
- 8:55Speaker 2: Absolutely, that's what I would do.
- 8:56Speaker 6: If you want to go burn a flag while you're
- 8:58Speaker 6: up there rioting, while you're a and cops while you're
- 9:00Speaker 6: blowing up cars, yeah, fin go right ahead, spend double
- 9:03Speaker 6: the amount of time in prison. That flag means something
- 9:06Speaker 6: to Americans. If you think that you can just burn
- 9:08Speaker 6: it and get away with it. It's time that we
- 9:10Speaker 6: disabuse them of that notion. The other thing I'd say, Jesse,
- 9:13Speaker 6: is if these protesters want to have a place to protest,
- 9:15Speaker 6: how about a nice jail cell. And right after that,
- 9:18Speaker 6: how about a one way ticket back to the country
- 9:21Speaker 6: where they came from, never to see the United States again.
- 9:24Speaker 4: One thing that's for sure, Senaer Josh Holly is making
- 9:27Speaker 4: it clear that under Donald Trump's leadership and his leadership
- 9:30Speaker 4: in the Senate, We're going to find out who's funding,
- 9:33Speaker 4: who's organizing, and who's terrorizing the American people with these
- 9:38Speaker 4: riots they're expanding all over the country.
- 9:41Speaker 3: Now, story number two.
- 9:42Speaker 4: President Trump not backing down and protecting la and any
- 9:46Speaker 4: other city where these radical extremists are starting these riots.
- 9:50Speaker 4: At Fort Bragg, Donald Trump addressed US troops and vowed
- 9:54Speaker 4: deliberate Los Angeles, blasting the situation as third world lawlessness
- 10:00Speaker 4: and accusing rioters of bearing foreign flags. He also defended
- 10:04Speaker 4: the deployment of approximately four thousand National Guard troops and
- 10:08Speaker 4: seven hundred marines, citing their role in protecting ice agents
- 10:12Speaker 4: and federal buildings.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Now.
- 10:13Speaker 4: Trump also called the protesters animals, a foreign enemy, and
- 10:18Speaker 4: paid trouble makers, which we'll have more on that story
- 10:22Speaker 4: of where the money's coming from for all of these protests,
- 10:26Speaker 4: asserting that somebody's paying them and we now have an
- 10:30Speaker 4: investigation into that. He warned that he would invoke the
- 10:33Speaker 4: Insurrection Act if protests reach other cities, claiming he would
- 10:38Speaker 4: send troops everywhere to maintain order.
- 10:41Speaker 2: Now.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Trump has framed the unrest as part of a broader threat,
- 10:44Speaker 4: describing it as a full blown assault on peace, on
- 10:48Speaker 4: public order, and national sovereignty. He directly challenged California leaders,
- 10:54Speaker 4: calling Governor Gavin Newsom new scum and saying they are
- 10:58Speaker 4: afraid to act. Brump also insists his forceful response demonstrates
- 11:03Speaker 4: decisive leadership and exactly what the American people voted for.
- 11:08Speaker 6: Well.
- 11:08Speaker 4: The President was also at the Kennedy Center walking the
- 11:12Speaker 4: red carpet with his wife, the First Lady, and he
- 11:15Speaker 4: was asked about some of these decisions.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Take a listen, So will you be pulling back on
- 11:20Speaker 2: the military.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Will you be pulling back on the military presence in
- 11:24Speaker 1: Los Angeles and in California soon?
- 11:26Speaker 2: What's the barometer are you're using going to be?
- 11:28Speaker 1: Absolutely if we weren't there. If we didn't bring in
- 11:32Speaker 1: the National good and the Marines, you would probably have
- 11:36Speaker 1: a city that was burning to the ground, just like
- 11:39Speaker 1: it was a number of months ago with the housing.
- 11:41Speaker 1: You would have had a big problem there. We were,
- 11:43Speaker 1: In fact, the police chief said so much if you
- 11:46Speaker 1: look at what his statements where he said, we're very
- 11:48Speaker 1: lucky to have had that. If we weren't there, that
- 11:51Speaker 1: city would have been burning to the ground, would be
- 11:53Speaker 1: burning right.
- 11:53Speaker 2: Now to some unrest. What are you prepared to do
- 12:00Speaker 2: about what if this turns well?
- 12:02Speaker 5: The protests have spread out of sixteen cities across the US.
- 12:06Speaker 1: That's what you're saying.
- 12:07Speaker 4: Do I believe you?
- 12:08Speaker 2: I don't think so well.
- 12:09Speaker 1: I got the I can tell you that what we have.
- 12:12Speaker 1: What we have is a situation in Los Angeles that
- 12:14Speaker 1: was caused by gross in confidence. They didn't have the
- 12:17Speaker 1: police to handle it. The police were asking us to
- 12:20Speaker 1: come in. They were very late. We had to go
- 12:22Speaker 1: in to save a lot of ice officers, as you know,
- 12:24Speaker 1: who were held up. They were pulled up in a
- 12:27Speaker 1: building and they were being attacked, and the military went in.
- 12:31Speaker 1: The National Guarden went in and got them. The police
- 12:33Speaker 1: weren't able, unfortunately to move fast enough. But we moved
- 12:36Speaker 1: fast enough. And while we were there, we stayed there
- 12:39Speaker 1: and we stopped tremendous destruction and death. We stopped death.
- 12:44Speaker 1: We stopped a lot. And if you look at them
- 12:47Speaker 1: cutting up and breaking up the sidewalk and getting it
- 12:49Speaker 1: and using it as a weapon. Did you see that
- 12:51Speaker 1: with the curb where they're breaking up the curb, nice
- 12:54Speaker 1: curb and they break it up with a hammer because
- 12:56Speaker 1: they couldn't get the bricks in. You know, they got
- 12:58Speaker 1: caught with the bricks we have. I'm under arrest. They
- 13:02Speaker 1: were bringing brickson to throw at our.
- 13:03Speaker 4: Police, bringing in bricks to throw at our police. Who
- 13:08Speaker 4: paid for the bricks is the big question now that
- 13:10Speaker 4: everyone is asking.
- 13:11Speaker 2: But the President is also calling on leaders governors.
- 13:15Speaker 4: To take the lead, take a stand and stop the anarchy.
- 13:20Speaker 4: And guess what many conservative governors are doing exactly that.
- 13:24Speaker 4: The governor of Texas, for example, Greg Abbott, has proactively
- 13:28Speaker 4: deployed the National Guard to San Antonio ahead of planned
- 13:32Speaker 4: anti ice demonstrations. Gavin Newsom, that's how it's done. Texas,
- 13:38Speaker 4: the governor said, will not be under siege like California.
- 13:42Speaker 4: And that's exactly the type of leadership that so many
- 13:45Speaker 4: Americans are looking for.
