- 0:00Speaker 1: Breaking news. The President Donald Trump clearly is fed up
- 0:04Speaker 1: with Iran and now threatening to blow the you know
- 0:07Speaker 1: what out of Iran, prompting Tehran to storm out of
- 0:12Speaker 1: the uspace talks. But they are still there now. Before
- 0:17Speaker 1: we get into that, I want to start with the
- 0:20Speaker 1: premise of what was supposed to be happening. Mike Waltz
- 0:23Speaker 1: on the Iran deal on ABC or CBS has faced
- 0:27Speaker 1: the nation, I should say, on Sunday morning, had this
- 0:31Speaker 1: to say about the negotiations before I give you the
- 0:34Speaker 1: breaking news.
- 0:35Speaker 2: It described Reprochmont this morning, and he indicated that some
- 0:40Speaker 2: of the details of what was agreed to are not
- 0:42Speaker 2: written down. He referred to a gentleman's agreement. That phrase
- 0:45Speaker 2: was also brief to reporters by an administration official. And
- 0:49Speaker 2: here's what the President said.
- 0:51Speaker 3: If they don't honor the agreement, some things aren't even
- 0:54Speaker 3: mentioned in the Agreement's a memorandum of understanding.
- 0:57Speaker 1: But we have an understanding of certain things without writing.
- 1:01Speaker 2: Are there classified annexes or portions of this that had
- 1:05Speaker 2: not been made public and will they be shared with Congress?
- 1:08Speaker 3: Margaret not not to my knowledge. And I'll just go
- 1:11Speaker 3: back to your point on the jealous and paper and
- 1:13Speaker 3: what's being discussed this is this is an ongoing negotiation
- 1:18Speaker 3: that we've never before had directly with the Iranians. And
- 1:22Speaker 3: I'll just say this from a lot of from a
- 1:24Speaker 3: lot of the doubts that you played in your opening,
- 1:26Speaker 3: this is the same team that got all of the
- 1:28Speaker 3: hostages out of the tunnels of Gaza that nobody said
- 1:31Speaker 3: could be done. They got a ceasefire in place, not perfect,
- 1:34Speaker 3: that no one could say said could be done, that
- 1:37Speaker 3: took care of the Maduro regime. He's in jail right
- 1:40Speaker 3: down the street here in New York with with no casualties,
- 1:45Speaker 3: and Venezuela now on a better track. So I wouldn't
- 1:47Speaker 3: doubt this president or this team. There's going to be
- 1:51Speaker 3: some bumps in the road, for sure. No administration has
- 1:54Speaker 3: been able to get this far from a position of strength,
- 1:59Speaker 3: and so I have full confidence that will get to
- 2:03Speaker 3: a deal. And as Vice President said, perhaps perhaps give
- 2:07Speaker 3: this a chance and we can have a transformed Middle East.
- 2:11Speaker 3: No one would have thought even a year ago that
- 2:13Speaker 3: you'd have Israel and the UAE working together militarily to
- 2:18Speaker 3: defend each other. As a result of the next evolution
- 2:22Speaker 3: of the Abraham.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Accords, so they were kind of forced to We're.
- 2:25Speaker 3: In day one of the technical talks, and Margaret, by
- 2:28Speaker 3: the way, there are there are technical experts from the
- 2:31Speaker 3: Department of Energy that are sitting down right now to
- 2:35Speaker 3: get to the bottom of the down blending, the moving
- 2:38Speaker 3: of the uranium uh, the highly enriched uranium, and how
- 2:42Speaker 3: that will technically be done. So we have to give
- 2:44Speaker 3: that process a chance as well. Well.
- 2:46Speaker 2: That's good to hear that the US has its own
- 2:48Speaker 2: nuclear experts on site. The White House hadn't said that.
- 2:51Speaker 2: Is there anything else you can tell us? Who's going
- 2:54Speaker 2: to keep talking for sixty days? Fans there?
- 2:57Speaker 3: These are These are our Department of Energy XS are
- 3:00Speaker 3: PhDs and physics a lot smarter than that I am
- 3:05Speaker 3: that are getting into those nitty gritty details. But the
- 3:08Speaker 3: big picture is the President's focus on Iran not having
- 3:12Speaker 3: a nuclear program and right now it's destroyed and if
- 3:17Speaker 3: they and we're going to keep it destroyed and have
- 3:20Speaker 3: it permanently destroyed, as opposed to the past where it
- 3:23Speaker 3: was ongoing and we were basically bribing them to not continue.
- 3:28Speaker 3: It's a totally different negotiation dynamic.
- 3:31Speaker 1: That was obviously my quotes now let me get you
- 3:33Speaker 1: to the breaking news that you need to understand. We're
- 3:37Speaker 1: being told that Iranian negotiators stormed out of the high
- 3:40Speaker 1: level piece talks with the US and Switzerland on Sunday
- 3:43Speaker 1: after a frustrated Trump unleashed on the regime, threatening to
- 3:47Speaker 1: seize not only the strait of her moves and then
- 3:49Speaker 1: blow that you know what out of them, referring to Iran.
- 3:53Speaker 1: The talks were apparently abandoned just eighty minutes after they started,
- 3:58Speaker 1: when the discussions enter quote a difficult phase following an
- 4:03Speaker 1: insulting message by the US President, That is how it
- 4:06Speaker 1: was reported on Iran state News agency. Now Vice President
- 4:11Speaker 1: jd Vance, who was spearheading these negotiations, had earlier said
- 4:15Speaker 1: that he hoped to turn over a new leaf with
- 4:18Speaker 1: the Islamic Republic. Obviously that didn't happen. Now, the talks,
- 4:24Speaker 1: happening in a Katari owned mountaintop resort in Switzerland, were
- 4:29Speaker 1: the first to be held under the terms of the
- 4:31Speaker 1: Memo of Understanding. Again, that's the deal that jd Vance
- 4:34Speaker 1: brought to the President of United States of America. Now,
- 4:37Speaker 1: these hopes of progress, well, they disappeared pretty quickly and
- 4:41Speaker 1: the diplomatic efforts were cut off, they said, when Trump
- 4:45Speaker 1: had had criticized been criticized recently for being too soft
- 4:49Speaker 1: in the regime with the MoU Now he warned that
- 4:52Speaker 1: the US would hammer a rant if it didn't open
- 4:55Speaker 1: the straight UPFOM moves and rein in its terror proxies
- 4:59Speaker 1: that they are financially backing.
- 5:01Speaker 3: Now.
- 5:02Speaker 1: The president's most explicit warning was aimed directly at Tehran's
- 5:05Speaker 1: diplomats in Switzerland, saying, quote, you won't even make it
- 5:10Speaker 1: back to your blanking country. That's what President Trump told
- 5:13Speaker 1: the Iranian leaders that, according to Fox News, you close it,
- 5:17Speaker 1: referring to the Strait of Hormus, you won't have a country.
- 5:22Speaker 1: We may take over the strait if we have to.
- 5:26Speaker 1: I'll blow the blank out of them again, referring to
- 5:29Speaker 1: Iran now, Iran's Revolutionary Guard that's a terrorist organization, the IRGC.
- 5:34Speaker 1: They claimed on Saturday that it was shutting down the
- 5:37Speaker 1: critical waterway due to the continued fighting in Lebanon. Iran
- 5:41Speaker 1: also came into the peace talks on Sunday, they said,
- 5:45Speaker 1: wanting to prioritize discussions about Lebanon and where Israel's military
- 5:50Speaker 1: has been fighting the Iran backed Hesbelad militia. They're a
- 5:53Speaker 1: terrorist organization there now. The talks were also supposed to
- 5:57Speaker 1: address Tehran's nuclear program and the reopening of the strait. However,
- 6:02Speaker 1: Ran said there can be no start to the next
- 6:05Speaker 1: phase of negotiations until the fighting ends again. That all
- 6:10Speaker 1: coming from a Rand State news agency. All right, I
- 6:14Speaker 1: want to take a moment. I want to talk to
- 6:15Speaker 1: you about a company that I use every day. It's
- 6:18Speaker 1: called Patriot Mobile. And so many brands today claim to
- 6:21Speaker 1: stand for American values, but most of the time, well
- 6:24Speaker 1: it's all talk and it's no action. That's why Patriot
- 6:27Speaker 1: Mobile is different. For more than twelve years, Patriot Mobile
- 6:30Speaker 1: has been living their values and standing in the gap
- 6:34Speaker 1: for every American who believes freedom is worth fighting for.
- 6:37Speaker 1: Their business was founded on a simple conviction if culture
- 6:41Speaker 1: is being shaped through commerce, Americans deserve a real conservative alternative.
- 6:47Speaker 1: Now today, Patriot Mobile is America's only Christian conservative wireless provider,
- 6:53Speaker 1: and what they offer is premium priority nationwide service on
- 6:57Speaker 1: any of the three major US networks. You get unlimited
- 7:01Speaker 1: data plans, international roaming, and a one hundred percent US
- 7:05Speaker 1: based customer support team. And with Patriot Mobile. You can
- 7:08Speaker 1: even have two separate networks on one phone. That gives
- 7:13Speaker 1: you unmatched coverage and peace of mind you can't get
- 7:16Speaker 1: with the other carriers. Now, besides the great tech, what
- 7:20Speaker 1: truly sets Patriot Mobile apart is their mission. Every year,
- 7:24Speaker 1: Patriot Mobile contributes millions let me say that again, millions
- 7:29Speaker 1: of dollars to organizations defending free speech, religious liberty, the
- 7:33Speaker 1: sanctity of life, the Second Amendment, and America's future. Patriot
- 7:38Speaker 1: Mobile isn't sitting on the sidelines. They're on the front
- 7:40Speaker 1: lines fighting for our freedoms. And every time you pay
- 7:43Speaker 1: your bill, that's what you're supporting. So join the movement
- 7:46Speaker 1: today and get amazing coverage. Go to Patriotmobile dot com
- 7:50Speaker 1: slash ferguson, Patriotmobile dot com slash ferguson, or call them
- 7:56Speaker 1: nine to seven to Patriot use the promo code ferguson.
- 7:59Speaker 1: You're going to free month of service. That's Patriotmobile dot
- 8:03Speaker 1: COM's lush ferguson or nine to seven to Patriot and
- 8:06Speaker 1: make that switch today. Trump also took the truth social
- 8:10Speaker 1: to let out his anger, and he blamed Iran for
- 8:13Speaker 1: the fighting and demand that the regime keep hesblat in line, saying, quote,
- 8:17Speaker 1: Iran must immediately stop their highly paid proxies in Lebanon
- 8:22Speaker 1: from causing trouble. If they don't hit I ran very
- 8:25Speaker 1: hard again, just like we did last week, only harder.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Of the Islamic Republic's chief negotiator and head of Iran's
- 8:33Speaker 1: parliament slam Trump's threats is an active quote desperation, saying
- 8:38Speaker 1: we don't take the Americans threats seriously. He went on
- 8:42Speaker 1: to warn the President that any force would be met
- 8:46Speaker 1: in kind. They had better watch their statements. Our armed
- 8:51Speaker 1: forces are ready to respond in another way whatever they say.
- 8:54Speaker 1: We are the ones who will act now. Many of
- 8:58Speaker 1: the top Iranian negotiators also refuse to participate in a
- 9:01Speaker 1: scheduled handshake and a joint photo session event with the
- 9:05Speaker 1: US team that according to Iran's news agency, officials described
- 9:10Speaker 1: the photo op as what they described as an American
- 9:12Speaker 1: media show with the optics, raising worries that the US
- 9:16Speaker 1: fumbled the start in the negotiations. However, US officials said
- 9:20Speaker 1: there was no snub and that Iran was merely spreading
- 9:24Speaker 1: opportunistic propaganda, which honestly makes sense. Now, you may also
- 9:29Speaker 1: want to know who's in the room here. Well, it's
- 9:31Speaker 1: actually a very small group of Americans. The US delegation
- 9:35Speaker 1: in Switzerland is being led by Vice President Vance, then
- 9:39Speaker 1: his Special envoice Steve Whitkoff, and then Trump's son in
- 9:42Speaker 1: law Jared Kushner are in the room. A senior US
- 9:46Speaker 1: diplomat engaged in the negotiations also downplayed the diplomatic row,
- 9:50Speaker 1: insisting that the peace talks are actually remaining ongoing, saying, quote,
- 9:55Speaker 1: the Iranian delegation is still at the negotiating venue, and
- 9:58Speaker 1: the US delegation expects to and you working through the night,
- 10:02Speaker 1: adding that the discussions have included clarifying some of the
- 10:05Speaker 1: confusing messaging from Iran on the straight and building deconfliction
- 10:10Speaker 1: mechanisms to ensure the strait will remain fully open, saying
- 10:16Speaker 1: we have also worked through deconfliction mechanisms and enforcing the
- 10:20Speaker 1: ceasefire in southern Lebanon. Let me also throw in another
- 10:25Speaker 1: point that has just happened moments ago, and that is
- 10:29Speaker 1: CenTra Lindsay Graham, Republican from South Carolina. He said that
- 10:34Speaker 1: Trump's plans to take control of the Strait of Hormuz
- 10:37Speaker 1: and imposed holds if diplomatic talks fail with Tehran is real, saying, quote,
- 10:44Speaker 1: let's try a diplomatic solution. I think it's going to fail.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That's what he said during an interview on CBS, before
- 10:50Speaker 1: asking what happens next. I spent four and a half
- 10:53Speaker 1: hours with President Trump on Friday. Here's what I think
- 10:56Speaker 1: will happen next. If the deal fails, President Trump is
- 10:59Speaker 1: going to take over the Straight of hor Moves by force.
- 11:01Speaker 1: The United States will control the Straight. He'll charge a
- 11:05Speaker 1: fee for all those who go through to pay for
- 11:08Speaker 1: the operation. And we're going to expand the Abraham Accords
- 11:12Speaker 1: and the calendar year twenty twenty six. Graham added. Now,
- 11:15Speaker 1: Graham's remarks came as Vice President jet E Vance and
- 11:18Speaker 1: Whikoff and Kushner were in these meetings in Switzerland, so
- 11:22Speaker 1: this is significant. There also may be an explanation of
- 11:26Speaker 1: why there seems to be a new level of arrogance
- 11:28Speaker 1: coming from Iran. And this was a red flag. It
- 11:32Speaker 1: was a concern. I talked about it on this show
- 11:35Speaker 1: this past week. I didn't think that the memo of
- 11:37Speaker 1: understanding that Jed Vance handed the President was a good one.
- 11:41Speaker 1: I thought there was failures in there. And now we
- 11:44Speaker 1: know that the failures gave a massive influx of cash
- 11:49Speaker 1: to Iran. Instantly, Iran's oil exports rebound with thirty six
- 11:55Speaker 1: million barrels shipped over six days. I'm gonna say that again,
- 12:00Speaker 1: Iran has exported thirty six million barrels of crude oles
- 12:03Speaker 1: since the fifteenth, so that would be just six days ago,
- 12:07Speaker 1: seven days ago, and that is roughly an equal amount
- 12:11Speaker 1: still afloat in Iran. Now, Iran not only has exported
- 12:16Speaker 1: this thirty six million barrels of crude oil since June
- 12:19Speaker 1: the fifteenth, but the maritime intelligence firm tank Trackers also
- 12:24Speaker 1: said Sunday that there's this other thirty six million barrels
- 12:28Speaker 1: that are currently traversing the Strait, saying, quote, Irana has
- 12:32Speaker 1: exported thirty six million barrels of cru since June the fifteenth,
- 12:36Speaker 1: there is roughly an equal amount still afloat in Iran,
- 12:38Speaker 1: meaning that's coming out fast now. Given the US blockade
- 12:42Speaker 1: of Iranian ports, Iranian oil exports had fallen to their
- 12:45Speaker 1: lowest levels period. That was crippling their economy and that
- 12:49Speaker 1: was putting real pressure on them to do a deal.
- 12:52Speaker 1: But the problem with the Memo of Understanding is it
- 12:56Speaker 1: allowed Iran to get rid of some of their oil,
- 12:58Speaker 1: which meant instant cash in their pockets. Now, US forces
- 13:02Speaker 1: lifted that blockade on June the eighteenth, as soon as
- 13:05Speaker 1: the memo of understanding between Washington t ran was announced,
- 13:08Speaker 1: and clearly Iran was ready, they were ready to roll
- 13:12Speaker 1: with this. That is a huge problem that they were
- 13:16Speaker 1: doing it apparently this quickly. Now oil prices are also
- 13:21Speaker 1: climbing right now as Iran US nuclear talks are happening.
- 13:25Speaker 1: With all this animosity in Switzerland, we now know that
- 13:29Speaker 1: Brent krude futures have risen by more than a dollar
- 13:32Speaker 1: a barrel on Monday as the talk started between the
- 13:36Speaker 1: US and Iranian officials, and a lot of people believe
- 13:38Speaker 1: that like this is not good news, like it's not
- 13:40Speaker 1: going anywhere positive. Oil prices had fallen, by the way,
- 13:44Speaker 1: the levels unseen since the war began on February the
- 13:46Speaker 1: twenty eighth. Now, as the talks got underway, Brent crude
- 13:50Speaker 1: futures climbed a dollar nine to or one point three
- 13:53Speaker 1: five percent to eighty one sixty six a barrel. That
- 13:56Speaker 1: at ten oh six pm, after reaching a set I
- 14:00Speaker 1: have eight two thirty at the start of trading. Now
- 14:03Speaker 1: investors watch the negotiations for signs of progress, with uncertainty
- 14:08Speaker 1: surrounding the talks that helped support crew prices after last
- 14:12Speaker 1: week's deep decline. Reuter's is reporting at the moment now
- 14:16Speaker 1: all markets have been affected by the supply uncertainty in
- 14:19Speaker 1: the Middle East, and this is clearly adding to that.
- 14:22Speaker 1: Now we also are getting worried, and this is just
- 14:25Speaker 1: coming across the wires. So again this is how fast
- 14:28Speaker 1: things are changing. But we're now being told that the
- 14:31Speaker 1: US Ranian talks have now stretched past ten hours and
- 14:35Speaker 1: negotiations are expected to continue now quote unquote until a
- 14:38Speaker 1: second day. This is after rand State media was reporting
- 14:41Speaker 1: they had stormed out of the meeting, so some of
- 14:43Speaker 1: that just seems to be straight up propaganda. At this moment,
- 14:47Speaker 1: the United States and Iranian delegations quote continue negotiations for
- 14:52Speaker 1: more than ten hours of talks. Negotiations are still ongoing
- 14:56Speaker 1: and still anticipate they will continue through the night, is
- 15:00Speaker 1: what officials are now telling Fox News. They say discussions
- 15:03Speaker 1: at the venue were still underway at one thirteen am
- 15:07Speaker 1: local time Monday. A second day of meetings was also
- 15:11Speaker 1: expected Monday at the resort in Switzerland, so they're saying
- 15:17Speaker 1: that now we are in the quote robust discussions is
- 15:20Speaker 1: how diplomats are now saying it. Vice President Jeddy Vans
- 15:23Speaker 1: in the US delegation, they said, spending Sunday night Monday
- 15:27Speaker 1: morning in Switzerland in these high level talks with Iranian officials.
- 15:30Speaker 1: The Vice President touched down around six am this morning,
- 15:33Speaker 1: and our delegation has been engaged in constant meetings and
- 15:36Speaker 1: negotiations since then. The diplomat who was a part of
- 15:40Speaker 1: the talks is now confirming, they said, quote contrary to
- 15:44Speaker 1: the rampant false reporting, the Iranians are still here and
- 15:47Speaker 1: discussions are ongoing. We anticipate continuing to work through the night. Now,
- 15:52Speaker 1: again this goes against Iran state media, their own reporting.
- 15:56Speaker 1: So it's a lot of propaganda happening. And now we're
- 15:59Speaker 1: hearing that the people that claim that they were storming
- 16:01Speaker 1: out are actually in the room. They may have stormed
- 16:04Speaker 1: out and come back, we don't know, but they are
- 16:07Speaker 1: having what they say, robust conversations. Topics quote of discussion
- 16:11Speaker 1: have included clarifying some of the confusing messaging from Iran
- 16:15Speaker 1: on the straight and building deconflictation, conflndiction, confliction excuse me
- 16:22Speaker 1: mechanisms to ensure the strait will remain fully open, they added.
- 16:26Speaker 1: They also said the delegation was working through the deconfliction
- 16:30Speaker 1: mechanisms for enforcing the ceasefire in southern Lebanon. So that's
- 16:38Speaker 1: now we have two sources. Comport are reporting the same thing.
- 16:42Speaker 1: We also are hearing that again there's a lot of
- 16:45Speaker 1: lying that is actually coming out of Iran. That's no surprise.
- 16:48Speaker 1: There One other thing that's happened here that's interesting is
- 16:51Speaker 1: Turkey is now warning Israel that they're saying Israel is
- 16:55Speaker 1: ready to sabotage the US Iranian Deal negotiations, and there's
- 16:59Speaker 1: a problem with that. They said, Israel could try to
- 17:02Speaker 1: derail the new Memo of Understanding between the RAN in
- 17:04Speaker 1: the United States and subsequent talks as negotiations continue in Switzerland.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Is what the Turkish Foreign minister warned, saying quote, there
- 17:12Speaker 1: is always an Israel waiting in the corner, ready to
- 17:16Speaker 1: sabotage the process as soon as it finds the opportunity.
- 17:20Speaker 1: He also said negotiators should be prepared for delays as
- 17:23Speaker 1: they work through the details of the agreement, saying quote,
- 17:26Speaker 1: these are important issues. It may not be easy to
- 17:29Speaker 1: immediately resolve their technical details. We may see deadlocks from
- 17:34Speaker 1: time to time. We need to be prepared for that.
- 17:37Speaker 1: He also said that he discussed the issues by phone
- 17:40Speaker 1: with the US Special ENVOYE. Steve Witkoff, and that the
- 17:44Speaker 1: conversations are open now. We also are being told now
- 17:48Speaker 1: and this is coming out of Israel, and again my
- 17:51Speaker 1: sorcerers saying that quote Israel will not withdraw from Southern
- 17:54Speaker 1: Lebanon security zone. That coming now officially from the defense ministers.
- 17:59Speaker 1: That's breaking as we speak. The Israeli Defense Minister now
- 18:03Speaker 1: says Israel has quote no plans to pull back from
- 18:06Speaker 1: its security zone in southern Lebanon, underscoring the ongoing tensions
- 18:09Speaker 1: on the border, saying quote Israel has no intention of
- 18:13Speaker 1: withdrawing from Ufort, which is an integral part of the
- 18:17Speaker 1: security zone in Lebanon and essential for the defense of
- 18:20Speaker 1: the Galiley communities and IDF forces. As Prime Minster Net
- 18:25Speaker 1: and Yahoo and I have clarified, Israel will not withdraw
- 18:29Speaker 1: from the security zone in Lebanon now. In May, the
- 18:32Speaker 1: IDF capture the stategic more foot Ridge at the historic
- 18:36Speaker 1: castle in the area during a major tactical operation to
- 18:40Speaker 1: quote unquote degrade hesblah, and they're saying now, they're not moving.
- 18:45Speaker 1: So this is moving extremely quickly, and I'm giving you
- 18:48Speaker 1: the best information I have at this moment. And as
- 18:51Speaker 1: you can tell, uh, yeah, there's a lot happening, and
- 18:54Speaker 1: it's happening really really fast. A majority of Americans want
- 18:59Speaker 1: the the United States of America to end the war
- 19:02Speaker 1: with Iran now. That according to a new CBS you
- 19:06Speaker 1: gov poll that has just come out. The survey, which
- 19:09Speaker 1: was taken Wednesday through Friday, ask participants, quote the conflict
- 19:14Speaker 1: with Iran, what should the US do now? Seventy eight percent,
- 19:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna say that number again, Seventy eight percent said
- 19:24Speaker 1: the nation should end the conflict now. Twenty two percent
- 19:27Speaker 1: said that to continue the conflict until Iran gives up more. Now.
- 19:32Speaker 1: These are very very very big numbers, to say the least.
- 19:36Speaker 1: The poll also surveyed Republicans, asking them what should the
- 19:41Speaker 1: US do now? Here's a very interesting part of that
- 19:44Speaker 1: poll as well. Sixty percent of all Republicans said the
- 19:48Speaker 1: nation should end the conflict now, and fifty six percent
- 19:52Speaker 1: of MAGA Republicans also agreed. Mean the majority of people
- 19:56Speaker 1: that voted for Donald Trump forty percent of republic Can
- 20:00Speaker 1: said the nation should continue the conflict until Iran gives
- 20:03Speaker 1: up more and forty four percent of MAGA Republicans agreed
- 20:07Speaker 1: as well. When broken out now the CBS News Yugov survey,
- 20:11Speaker 1: it was conducted with a nationally representive sample of two thousand,
- 20:16Speaker 1: five hundred and nineteen US adults interview between June and
- 20:19Speaker 1: seventeenth and nineteenth, and the sample was weighted to be
- 20:24Speaker 1: representative of adults nationwide according to gender, age, race, education,
- 20:29Speaker 1: and it was based on the US Census, American Community Survey,
- 20:32Speaker 1: and Current Population Survey. Meaning this is a poll that
- 20:36Speaker 1: is very interesting and worth looking at now. The news
- 20:39Speaker 1: of the poll also came after President Donald Trump signed
- 20:43Speaker 1: his copy of the Memorandum of Understanding or the MoU
- 20:47Speaker 1: to end the hostilities of Iran following the G seven
- 20:50Speaker 1: on Wednesday, with the Iranian president signing his copy remotely.
- 20:56Speaker 1: That is the latest news that's been reported on that now.
- 20:59Speaker 1: The out we had set a national survey found the
- 21:03Speaker 1: sign preliminary agreement had a strong majority approval rating among
- 21:07Speaker 1: American voters as well. President Trump confirmed that he had
- 21:11Speaker 1: signed the MoU and some details would quote be ironed
- 21:14Speaker 1: out in the next sixty days. The deal is all
- 21:17Speaker 1: signed and the straight uform moves is already partially open.
- 21:20Speaker 1: As you know, they're doing a little hunting for a
- 21:23Speaker 1: couple of minds that they've already found. But it's essentially
- 21:26Speaker 1: ships are starting to go out now. On Friday, it
- 21:29Speaker 1: will be completely open, the President promise, saying this. We
- 21:33Speaker 1: got along very well with Iran. It's a different set
- 21:36Speaker 1: of leaders, as you know. The first set is gone,
- 21:38Speaker 1: the second set is gone, and we found the third
- 21:42Speaker 1: set to be very smart, strong, very smart. But we
- 21:45Speaker 1: ended up making a deal. I felt badly that we
- 21:48Speaker 1: had to go back on the attack for two nights,
- 21:51Speaker 1: and I thought a third, but we made it before
- 21:53Speaker 1: that happened. But I think a lot of great things
- 21:56Speaker 1: are going to happen with the Middle East right now,
- 21:59Speaker 1: and very importantly, the oil is plummeting down and the
- 22:02Speaker 1: stock market is shooting up like a rocket today, like
- 22:05Speaker 1: record kind of numbers, the President added. Now, Vice President J. D.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Vance arrived in Switzerland early on Sunday for the first
- 22:13Speaker 1: direct US Iranian talks sense the signing of the Memo
- 22:16Speaker 1: of understanding. The negotiations will play out against a backdrop
- 22:20Speaker 1: of obviously the rising tensions specifically over the Strait of Hormuz,
- 22:25Speaker 1: and then the renewed fighting between the Iran bak hes
- 22:27Speaker 1: Blau terrorist group and Israel threatened to up end the
- 22:31Speaker 1: fragile diplomatic process as well. Obviously, there's a lot happening
- 22:36Speaker 1: as we speak, which brings me to the second part
- 22:40Speaker 1: of the story. US Iran talks are beginning directly in Switzerland,
- 22:46Speaker 1: not indirectly, but directly, the United States and Iran holding
- 22:50Speaker 1: these talks on Sunday, that after signed the agreement to
- 22:54Speaker 1: end their war, with the conflict in Lebanon again happening
- 22:58Speaker 1: as we speak and threatening to he railed the deal completely. Now,
- 23:02Speaker 1: the negotiations to endo war that sowed chaos across the
- 23:05Speaker 1: Middle East and rattled the global economy are meant to
- 23:08Speaker 1: trigger this sixty day period, the White House says, to
- 23:11Speaker 1: settle the broader issues that have dodged the US Iranian
- 23:15Speaker 1: relations for decades, from Iran's nuclear program to the crippling
- 23:19Speaker 1: sanctions that we put on them. American and Iranian representatives
- 23:24Speaker 1: gathered alongside delegations from mediators Pakistan and Katar, and the
- 23:30Speaker 1: Swiss resort. There perched high above a very famous lake Dohak,
- 23:35Speaker 1: confirming in the afternoon that the Four way talks had
- 23:38Speaker 1: quote unquote begun on Sunday. Now the talks to end
- 23:42Speaker 1: the months long conflict are taking place against the backdrop
- 23:45Speaker 1: of Iran closing the Strait of Hormuz again. Why well,
- 23:51Speaker 1: they claim they did this in response to Israel's specific
- 23:54Speaker 1: attacks on Lebanon, where it's war with Hesbla has flared.
- 23:58Speaker 1: Despite a new sea fire agreement quote, it is not
- 24:03Speaker 1: possible to enter the negotiation phase for a final agreement,
- 24:06Speaker 1: the Foreign Ministry spokesman wrote on x unless there was
- 24:10Speaker 1: an end to the war in Lebanon. Obviously, this would
- 24:13Speaker 1: be a ran moving the goldposts. Now, Washington and Tehran's
- 24:17Speaker 1: Memo of Understanding, signed earlier in June, extended the truce
- 24:22Speaker 1: in the war that began in late February with US
- 24:25Speaker 1: Israeli strikes on Iran. Now it included a provision to
- 24:29Speaker 1: end fighting in Lebanon between Israel and Hezbolah. So now
- 24:33Speaker 1: that's a bigger issue than ever before. Now there have
- 24:36Speaker 1: also been repeated clashes in Lebanon since then. To be clear,
- 24:40Speaker 1: it has prompted Iran to say it would again shudder,
- 24:44Speaker 1: the cruel oil and gas trade route having it open
- 24:47Speaker 1: as part of the deal, but now at the moment
- 24:49Speaker 1: it is closed. Now. There have also been no reports
- 24:54Speaker 1: of Israeli strikes or continued fighting in Lebanon since Saturday.
- 24:59Speaker 1: Israel and exsisted on Sunday that its troops would stay
- 25:02Speaker 1: inside what it called a quote security zone inside of Lebanon,
- 25:06Speaker 1: and they respond, they said, to any threats. Despite the
- 25:10Speaker 1: US Aran deal now Lebanon a side. There has been
- 25:14Speaker 1: no indication that I ran support for armed groups across
- 25:19Speaker 1: the region, which has long drawn the ear of the
- 25:22Speaker 1: US and Israel, will be addressed in these negotiations. I'm
- 25:27Speaker 1: going to say that again because it's a really important
- 25:29Speaker 1: point for you to understand. There is no indication that
- 25:33Speaker 1: I ran support for terrorist groups Hesblahamas, So this goes
- 25:36Speaker 1: on on across them in the East, all right, will
- 25:40Speaker 1: be addressed in these negotiations. That is going to be
- 25:44Speaker 1: very interesting to see how that works out, because obviously
- 25:47Speaker 1: Israel is going to have something to say about that quote.
- 25:51Speaker 1: I think we're going to hopefully make progress on a
- 25:53Speaker 1: nuclear issue, make progress on the Lebanon ceasefire issue. Those
- 25:58Speaker 1: are the two big things that I think we're to
- 26:01Speaker 1: be focused on, is what the US Vice President JD.
- 26:04Speaker 1: Van's told reporters before departing from Joint Bass Andrews, saying
- 26:09Speaker 1: he could only join the talks for a quote day
- 26:12Speaker 1: or two. There remains skepticism from Tehran, however, a military
- 26:18Speaker 1: advisor the Supreme Ietola there posts on acts that quote
- 26:22Speaker 1: the enemy has shown itself to be a promise breaker,
- 26:26Speaker 1: obviously referring to the US. Now, speaking on Sunday, the
- 26:30Speaker 1: Iranian president said Tehran would not relink which its right
- 26:33Speaker 1: to enrich uranium, though he repeated Iran's denial that it
- 26:38Speaker 1: wants nuclear weapons, saying we can also state in writing
- 26:43Speaker 1: that we have no intention of building a bomb. That
- 26:47Speaker 1: is what they posted on the president's website. I'm not joking. Meanwhile,
- 26:52Speaker 1: they said the unfreezing of Iranian assets and issuing the
- 26:55Speaker 1: necessary licenses for the sale of Iranian oil will also
- 27:00Speaker 1: be on the agenda now. US negotiators, the president's son
- 27:04Speaker 1: in law, Jered Kushner and Steve Whitkoff, who have already
- 27:08Speaker 1: been in Switzerland handling some of the technical elements and
- 27:11Speaker 1: had reported that things are going well. Van said also
- 27:15Speaker 1: on Fox News Now. Sunday again began with the US
- 27:20Speaker 1: and Iranian envoys meeting separately with mediators, the office of
- 27:24Speaker 1: Pakistani's Prime Minister releasing footage of him an army chief,
- 27:29Speaker 1: greeting Vance with a quote hug all. This again happening
- 27:34Speaker 1: as the latest fighting between Israel and Hesblah has sparked
- 27:38Speaker 1: that Tehran back militant group attacking Israel in support of
- 27:42Speaker 1: Iran in the wider war, has reportedly now become a
- 27:46Speaker 1: big sticking point to quite possibly derail the peace effort.
- 27:51Speaker 1: So here we are, we have a major story that's
- 27:54Speaker 1: unfolding before our very eyes. What's going to happen moving forward?
- 27:58Speaker 1: No one knows. They could literally go any way here.
- 28:02Speaker 1: But what we do know, and it seems pretty clear
- 28:04Speaker 1: that the President is trusting JD. Vance to sit down
- 28:08Speaker 1: and to try to move this forward. He's also trusting
- 28:11Speaker 1: his son in law and Steve Wikoff to try to
- 28:14Speaker 1: get a deal done as quickly as possible. This is
- 28:17Speaker 1: going to be a very interesting week and it'll be
- 28:20Speaker 1: interesting to see if in fact a Ran has any
- 28:23Speaker 1: intention at all. Let me say that again, any intention
- 28:28Speaker 1: at all of actually coming to the table or is
- 28:32Speaker 1: this really just about stalling and getting their hands on, well,
- 28:37Speaker 1: some cash that they're desperate to get their hands on.
- 28:40Speaker 1: Don't forget to share this podcast wherever you can on
- 28:42Speaker 1: social media, and I will see you back here tomorrow
