- 1:51Speaker 1: He's on the Phone, graduated from Lehigh University with a
- 1:54Speaker 1: Bachelor of Arts and Journalism, and that same year he
- 1:58Speaker 1: was drafted tenth overall in the NBA Draft as a
- 2:01Speaker 1: guard for the Portland Trail Breakers. On June, this professional
- 2:05Speaker 1: athlete and longtime wine cono sure launched his own wine label.
- 2:09Speaker 1: He's investing his time to learn the ins and ights
- 2:13Speaker 1: operating the wine business. He's on the show today to
- 2:16Speaker 1: discuss this new venture and his community work outside of
- 2:19Speaker 1: professional sports. Please welcome to money making conversation, my man.
- 2:23Speaker 1: I see him on TV all the time outside of
- 2:25Speaker 1: just driven them the basketball. That's not really why he's
- 2:28Speaker 1: on the show. He's here because what he can do
- 2:30Speaker 1: with his mind. Please welcome. C J McCullum. I appreciate
- 2:35Speaker 1: you allowing me to join, man. It's a pleasure to
- 2:38Speaker 1: be able to have a conversation. So right now, where
- 2:40Speaker 1: you're based, at, where you're where you're hiding out at
- 2:42Speaker 1: my friend Right now, I'm in Oregon, Um actually getting
- 2:45Speaker 1: ready to head to the bubble in Orlando on Thursday.
- 2:49Speaker 1: So I'm packing up and kind of getting my life
- 2:50Speaker 1: in order. Now, what exactly when you say the bubble?
- 2:53Speaker 1: You know I'm a guy. Why read? I think I
- 2:55Speaker 1: know when they said the bubble in Orlando and we
- 2:58Speaker 1: know that it's roaring down there with COVID and eighteen
- 3:00Speaker 1: and in Florida. What exactly does that mean when you
- 3:03Speaker 1: say because I know you was part of the executive committee. Yeah, basically,
- 3:09Speaker 1: I'm heading to Orlando. I'm going to be staying uh
- 3:14Speaker 1: in the in the yacht club. There's three separate hotels
- 3:17Speaker 1: for twenty two teams, about three hundred fifty or three
- 3:19Speaker 1: hundred fifty players give or take, including staff. It will
- 3:23Speaker 1: be about eleven twe hundred people on campus max. And
- 3:28Speaker 1: by the bubble, I mean we can't leave once we
- 3:30Speaker 1: get there. We're subject to testing daily, will be tested
- 3:33Speaker 1: every night with results coming in the morning. UM. Upon arrival,
- 3:38Speaker 1: you basically get tested in your room and you have
- 3:42Speaker 1: about twenty four thirty six hours and you receive another test,
- 3:45Speaker 1: and you can't leave until you receive two consecutive negative tests.
- 3:49Speaker 1: And basically your only job responsibility is to you know,
- 3:52Speaker 1: conduct yourself in the orderly manner handed your business, go
- 3:55Speaker 1: to practice, UM, performing your games, and stay out the way,
- 4:00Speaker 1: and then try to avoid testing positive for coronavirus while
- 4:04Speaker 1: performing at an exceptionally high level and continuing to to
- 4:07Speaker 1: speak out only injestages will continuing to see and faith
- 4:11Speaker 1: as black members of society. So I think that's that's
- 4:13Speaker 1: been my goal throughout this entire process. That's been to
- 4:16Speaker 1: go up the executive Committee and many of my peers
- 4:18Speaker 1: is to figure out how we can continue to play,
- 4:20Speaker 1: continue to uplift others while inspiring, but also understanding that
- 4:23Speaker 1: we have an important platform that we could utilize to
- 4:27Speaker 1: the best of our ability to really really spread light
- 4:30Speaker 1: on some certain justices that that we're facing at society. Now,
- 4:33Speaker 1: when you now, they told when I was reading the article,
- 4:35Speaker 1: was talking about some some names or some slogans will
- 4:39Speaker 1: be on your basketball jerseys. Did I misread that? No,
- 4:43Speaker 1: you didn't misread it. The NBA and the NBPA have
- 4:46Speaker 1: come to an agreement on allowing us to have a
- 4:49Speaker 1: little bit of creativity with the backs of our jerseys. Basically,
- 4:54Speaker 1: the nb agreed upon a list of certain names and
- 4:58Speaker 1: or phrases that we can and put on our jersey.
- 5:01Speaker 1: So for the first few games, the phrase will stand alone,
- 5:05Speaker 1: so it'll be phrase and number, and after I don't know,
- 5:09Speaker 1: two or three games, it'll be phrase, number, name listed
- 5:15Speaker 1: in that order. And I think it's it's amazing that
- 5:17Speaker 1: we have an opportunity to kind of a shine of
- 5:20Speaker 1: light on certain things, certain issues that we're facing as
- 5:23Speaker 1: a society. And for me personally, I'm excited about it,
- 5:27Speaker 1: and I think this is a step in the right
- 5:29Speaker 1: direction for us collectively. Now only we'll be able to
- 5:32Speaker 1: generate money from many causes and people who are need
- 5:34Speaker 1: but we'll be able to have those ongoing conversations that
- 5:37Speaker 1: are needed in society today in order to help take
- 5:40Speaker 1: strives to making the world a better place. Now, I
- 5:43Speaker 1: know you went to a really has a private college,
- 5:45Speaker 1: private university. Correct, I think it's considered a private institution now,
- 5:52Speaker 1: Bachelor of Arts and Journalism. So when I when I well,
- 5:56Speaker 1: hear the world journalism here very uh probably mind. And
- 6:00Speaker 1: I hear it in your voice a person who wants
- 6:02Speaker 1: to get answers. I hear it in your when you
- 6:05Speaker 1: when you communicate and you're very analytical. What drove you
- 6:08Speaker 1: to journalism in college and get that degree in journalism?
- 6:13Speaker 1: But I actually started off in the business school. Um
- 6:15Speaker 1: my brother has a has a business management degree to
- 6:18Speaker 1: graduate honors from Ghotian College, Indiana. And my mom was
- 6:21Speaker 1: really big on, you know, certain types of majors that
- 6:24Speaker 1: can produce certain types of jobs. She don't want me
- 6:27Speaker 1: to be under the stereotype of professional athletes with majors,
- 6:30Speaker 1: and journalism takes the easy day out, per se, especially
- 6:33Speaker 1: when you come from an institution like Lehan. So a
- 6:36Speaker 1: few weeks in exactly, So, a few weeks in, I
- 6:40Speaker 1: basically realized that I wasn't a big fan of the equations.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I wasn't a big fan of sitting at the death
- 6:45Speaker 1: for the rest of my life. That I wanted to
- 6:46Speaker 1: be more interactive and have conversation. So, a long story short,
- 6:51Speaker 1: I told her I wanted to switch my major. She
- 6:53Speaker 1: asked me what I was going to switch to. I said, journalism.
- 6:56Speaker 1: She proceeded to ask, what are you gonna do with
- 6:58Speaker 1: the journalism degree from a university Lehigh? And I said,
- 7:02Speaker 1: I'm just stand why. You know, she's about the economics.
- 7:04Speaker 1: She's about the economics now exactly, She's thinking, My sons
- 7:08Speaker 1: are going through a prestigions school. He's going to be
- 7:10Speaker 1: a business manager of something of some sort and managed
- 7:14Speaker 1: in in major in business management. So I told her
- 7:17Speaker 1: that my plan is to first figure out how to
- 7:23Speaker 1: portray myself and my words in a certain manner in
- 7:25Speaker 1: which people can understand it. In the second, I wouldn't
- 7:27Speaker 1: be able to tell stories, not just my stories, but
- 7:30Speaker 1: the stories of others. And I told her this will
- 7:32Speaker 1: this will help me really truly understand people. Understand my
- 7:35Speaker 1: words and say what I mean. I mean what I say.
- 7:37Speaker 1: So she made me write or something and she said
- 7:39Speaker 1: if it was good enough, she would allow me to
- 7:40Speaker 1: switch my major. Long story short, it was good enough.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I was able to switch my major major in journalism
- 7:47Speaker 1: I Mondor to mass communication and sociology. And now I
- 7:50Speaker 1: have a great way with my words. I know how
- 7:52Speaker 1: to articulate in the manner in which is appropriate for
- 7:54Speaker 1: all size of the fence. I can talk in the barbershop,
- 7:57Speaker 1: I can talk in Wall Street, and I can talk
- 7:59Speaker 1: with only so like it was the best of both worlds,
- 8:04Speaker 1: and it still allowed me to kind of pursue my
- 8:06Speaker 1: passion because I knew I wasn't build from that life,
- 8:08Speaker 1: although I can thrive in in that type of environment.
- 8:11Speaker 1: I felt like I enjoyed writing three page papers as
- 8:14Speaker 1: opposed to studying for equations and him. And that's kind
- 8:17Speaker 1: of where you know, I felt on that tree. Well,
- 8:19Speaker 1: I respect that my my degrees in mathematics. You know,
- 8:22Speaker 1: I graduated with a great in mathematics, and uh, but
- 8:24Speaker 1: I started out in mathematics. I started out in civil engineer,
- 8:27Speaker 1: and then I bounced around until I found myself and
- 8:30Speaker 1: I commend you. At a young age, you was able
- 8:32Speaker 1: to look in the mirror and say that's not what
- 8:34Speaker 1: I want to be, that's not what I feel a
- 8:36Speaker 1: passion for. And now when I hear you talk, c J,
- 8:40Speaker 1: I hear a very worldly voice. What are the platforms
- 8:44Speaker 1: are you using to just you know, just just express
- 8:47Speaker 1: your personality, express your point of view and share it.
- 8:50Speaker 1: Or you in the podcast, or you have a radio showed.
- 8:52Speaker 1: What are you doing beside social media? Yeah, I've done
- 8:55Speaker 1: all those things. I started off my collegiate career working
- 8:59Speaker 1: for High Sports. Intern for Lee High Sports and basically
- 9:04Speaker 1: covered all games, all sports and activities. I wrote for
- 9:06Speaker 1: the school newspaper, the Brown and White, and I was
- 9:09Speaker 1: an executive editor of the Brown and White, the school newspaper.
- 9:11Speaker 1: And then so I was drafting to the NBA. I
- 9:14Speaker 1: did a daily diary with Series X and radio for
- 9:16Speaker 1: a while, so I basically have my own radio show.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I transitioned that into working for I Heart Radio and
- 9:22Speaker 1: did that for two years and also hosted uh Jimmy
- 9:25Speaker 1: one of seven five, Portland's number one station for hip
- 9:27Speaker 1: hop and throwbacks. So I mean you did that, you
- 9:29Speaker 1: did that? I did that. I put together playlist. I
- 9:33Speaker 1: interviewed uh different artists, and I turned that into a podcast.
- 9:39Speaker 1: I created the Pull Up podcast with George Schulton. We
- 9:42Speaker 1: basically did a hundred and seven episodes and that was
- 9:46Speaker 1: a two year agreement that's now up and now in
- 9:49Speaker 1: negotiations for extending my podcast for another two years where
- 9:53Speaker 1: we talk about like sports, current events, wine, TV shows, books,
- 10:00Speaker 1: and so much more. So. I see, uh, am I
- 10:03Speaker 1: talking to a young producer here or young television producer,
- 10:06Speaker 1: young documentary and what am I? What am I talking to?
- 10:10Speaker 1: C j V? Because man, you're special, dude. I I
- 10:13Speaker 1: just throw that compliment out there because it's something that
- 10:16Speaker 1: you own, that you wear, that you talk about, that
- 10:19Speaker 1: you discussed. Just give us some insight a little bit
- 10:23Speaker 1: about you or what's it your mom that that that
- 10:25Speaker 1: that that that foster this this curiosity and this this
- 10:29Speaker 1: this ability to see things with a third eye. Talk
- 10:32Speaker 1: to me about that. Yeah. I was just always talked
- 10:38Speaker 1: to take advantage of your situation, um use the game
- 10:41Speaker 1: or let the game use you. And I think my
- 10:42Speaker 1: mother she is still that in me at an early age. Basically.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Let you know, that's just society isn't ever going to
- 10:47Speaker 1: be fair to you, you gotta make your own pass
- 10:49Speaker 1: and create your own way, and you have to do
- 10:52Speaker 1: it by using all your resources. Um not just basketball,
- 10:55Speaker 1: but use your education, use everything around you in order
- 10:59Speaker 1: to really take advantage of your situation. And if you
- 11:02Speaker 1: want to be successful, it's going to come from understanding
- 11:06Speaker 1: the principles that she taught me, Understanding the principles that
- 11:08Speaker 1: come from the Bible, Understanding understanding the importance of you know,
- 11:12Speaker 1: two eyes, two years, one mouth, and as the youngest,
- 11:16Speaker 1: youngest sibling, I learned a lot from my older brother
- 11:18Speaker 1: who's a professional athlete. He has played abroad for over
- 11:21Speaker 1: eleven years and is a business management major. Who's you know,
- 11:25Speaker 1: I've idolized him since I was a kid. I've watched
- 11:27Speaker 1: my mom work two jobs. I've watched my mom run
- 11:30Speaker 1: our own insurance business, work for the state tax department
- 11:33Speaker 1: for fifteen years, working in total thirty two years, and
- 11:35Speaker 1: I was in a position to allow her to retire.
- 11:38Speaker 1: I watched my dad working at steel mill for thirty years,
- 11:41Speaker 1: hundred and fifteen hundred, twenty hundred and thirty degrees in
- 11:44Speaker 1: some of those cranes, and you know, doing what he
- 11:46Speaker 1: has to do to provide for his family because his
- 11:48Speaker 1: probably died at an early age. So I watched all
- 11:51Speaker 1: that growing up understanding that I wanted a better life
- 11:53Speaker 1: for everybody in that In order for that to happen,
- 11:56Speaker 1: I had to take advantage of my situation while also
- 11:59Speaker 1: utilizing my skill else not just talking, not just listening,
- 12:03Speaker 1: but performance. You know, you have a certain skill, certain
- 12:06Speaker 1: athletic ability, you take advantage of it, but you use
- 12:09Speaker 1: that athleticism to empower people, use that to reach new networks,
- 12:13Speaker 1: and also use that to get an education. So I
- 12:15Speaker 1: was able to kind of parlay that into where I
- 12:18Speaker 1: am now. And that's just the credit to my surrounding
- 12:21Speaker 1: with my mother, my father, my brother, and without them,
- 12:24Speaker 1: there is no good version to me now. In twenty sixteen,
- 12:26Speaker 1: you opened the c. J. McCullen Dream Center. Tell us
- 12:29Speaker 1: about that. That's one of the things I'm most proud
- 12:33Speaker 1: of in my career, being able to party with the
- 12:36Speaker 1: boys and girls club organizations. That was so instrumental my
- 12:41Speaker 1: development as a youngster, and they played a role in
- 12:43Speaker 1: provided me with a safe space. I wanted to do
- 12:45Speaker 1: the same thing for the kids um here in Oregon,
- 12:48Speaker 1: basically talking to them, communicating with them and getting a
- 12:51Speaker 1: better understanding of some of the things they're laughing and
- 12:53Speaker 1: some of the resources they may need to being able
- 12:55Speaker 1: to provide that. We started with culturally relevant books, uh,
- 13:00Speaker 1: because there's so many kids who oftentimes are forced to
- 13:03Speaker 1: read books um that are written by people that don't
- 13:05Speaker 1: look like them and that were about things and people
- 13:09Speaker 1: that don't come from places like them. So we wanted
- 13:11Speaker 1: to first kind of fix that and then provide them
- 13:13Speaker 1: with computers, provide them with certain technology coding different things
- 13:20Speaker 1: that they may not normally be exposed to, and while
- 13:22Speaker 1: providing them with the space to attend and be a
- 13:25Speaker 1: part of pre and post school. That was that was
- 13:29Speaker 1: really really big for us, And I think what I'm
- 13:31Speaker 1: most proud of that we've been able to open up
- 13:33Speaker 1: two of them so far. One of them is focused
- 13:35Speaker 1: more so on journalism, so they're able to they're able
- 13:39Speaker 1: to print things, they're able to do green screen, they're
- 13:41Speaker 1: able to produce their own podcast, they would produce their
- 13:44Speaker 1: own music, they're able to produce their own stories while
- 13:47Speaker 1: conducting interviews, uh, and what's similar to what you would
- 13:51Speaker 1: see at a weather station or news station. I'm extremely
- 13:55Speaker 1: proud of that, and I'd say that I think on
- 13:57Speaker 1: the on the cake is that we've we've been able
- 13:59Speaker 1: to collapse, like collaborate with a couple of coding companies
- 14:02Speaker 1: to where the kids are able to receive free coding.
- 14:04Speaker 1: They go through UH, they go through the year program,
- 14:09Speaker 1: and once they finish, I think to two to five
- 14:11Speaker 1: students are in position to receive a job that pays
- 14:14Speaker 1: up to seventy a year with no degree. So I
- 14:17Speaker 1: think that's something that I'm extremely proud of because it
- 14:19Speaker 1: teaches kids, you know, from inner cities, kids from from
- 14:22Speaker 1: under poverished areas and underserved community areas, how to code,
- 14:26Speaker 1: and then it provides them with an opportunity to to
- 14:28Speaker 1: make a living for anoming themselves with their families. It's
- 14:31Speaker 1: finally here the season of celebration. And no matter how
- 14:35Speaker 1: you celebrate with family and friends, whether you're preparing for
- 14:38Speaker 1: Reis magos or Karamu lighting the Manura, are going to

- 16:27Speaker 1: E R dot Ai. Wow, that's let's go. Let's let's
- 16:31Speaker 1: make a transition to the y conoiseul. Okay, now in
- 16:35Speaker 1: your bio, Mr c J, they said you are a
- 16:38Speaker 1: long time y connoisseur. I'm just gonna let you know
- 16:42Speaker 1: I'm from the hood. Okay. If somebody said there was
- 16:45Speaker 1: a long time wine connoisseur, it was called the win
- 16:47Speaker 1: oh back in the day. I'm just gonna let you
- 16:49Speaker 1: know that. I'm sure you're not a wine oh. So
- 16:52Speaker 1: tell us what a wine corno sue is. I mean
- 16:57Speaker 1: they use that line of active stretch you because you
- 17:00Speaker 1: know me, I grew up in the hood till the weeks,
- 17:03Speaker 1: direct the strong stuff and still drink the strong stuff,
- 17:06Speaker 1: just for the record, just to set the record straight.
- 17:09Speaker 1: But I've evolved, my power has evolved, and I start
- 17:13Speaker 1: to drinking one about eight years ago, seven years ago ish,
- 17:16Speaker 1: and I've continued to figure out ways to learn more
- 17:19Speaker 1: about the grape, to learn more about what organ has
- 17:22Speaker 1: to offer, and learn more about what the world has
- 17:23Speaker 1: to offer. So I'm thankful to have a partnership with
- 17:26Speaker 1: Alisign and be able to bring McCollum. Here is ninety
- 17:30Speaker 1: one to Life, which is a two thousand eighteen pino
- 17:33Speaker 1: in the war that was harvested um in Oregon and
- 17:36Speaker 1: the will Eemte Valley more specifically of the Shahala Mountains.
- 17:39Speaker 1: It's a it's a great pino, and I'm just thankful
- 17:42Speaker 1: I've been able to learn so much about so many
- 17:44Speaker 1: things that I wasn't exposed to as a child. I've
- 17:47Speaker 1: been able to diversify, I've been able to educate myself,
- 17:50Speaker 1: and I really really established so many things outside of
- 17:54Speaker 1: basketball that I'm extremely proud of for my legacy. And
- 17:58Speaker 1: but you know, that's a shot story there about what
- 18:01Speaker 1: you just did. But just let's let's low down a
- 18:03Speaker 1: little bit. Okay, how did you went from enjoying something,
- 18:08Speaker 1: tasting it and then somebody tapping you on the shoulder
- 18:11Speaker 1: and say, hey, you can you can not only enjoy
- 18:13Speaker 1: what you drink, but you can make this as a business.
- 18:16Speaker 1: How did that happen? Besides you've been a famous basketball player.
- 18:19Speaker 1: I'm sure that helped out a lot. But I'm sure,
- 18:22Speaker 1: like you said, you're trying to learn the ins and out.
- 18:24Speaker 1: Welcome through that early stage of of somebody telling you
- 18:29Speaker 1: about it and then you believe in it, had a
- 18:30Speaker 1: credible lane of opportunity for you. Yeah, I'm fortunate to
- 18:37Speaker 1: be surrounded by some great people, um in general, from
- 18:41Speaker 1: my agency to my family to my fiance. We have
- 18:45Speaker 1: a great circle look of people who do think the
- 18:48Speaker 1: right way, who are like minded, but who are also
- 18:51Speaker 1: in the business of figuring out how to educate, how
- 18:54Speaker 1: to how to process what you're what you're being educated,
- 18:56Speaker 1: and how to really turn that into a profitable business.
- 19:00Speaker 1: So based on you know, certain conversations that we had,
- 19:03Speaker 1: we figured out what I wanted to accomplish, how to
- 19:05Speaker 1: go about accomplishing it, accomplishing it, and who I should
- 19:08Speaker 1: you know, potentially go into business with. And we found
- 19:12Speaker 1: the great partnership with Adam Simon, and their biggest thing
- 19:15Speaker 1: is education sustainability, and those are two key things that
- 19:21Speaker 1: I focused my life on I like to educate and
- 19:24Speaker 1: I believe in collaborative learning experiences in which we're making
- 19:28Speaker 1: the world a better place. And based on their practices.
- 19:31Speaker 1: Based on what I was told and what I've been
- 19:32Speaker 1: able to see so far, I've been able to learn
- 19:35Speaker 1: more about wine, to take certain wines I never would
- 19:37Speaker 1: have been exposed, to potentially produce my own wine, to
- 19:40Speaker 1: be a part of the entire process with the winemaker
- 19:42Speaker 1: named Gina, who has been exceptional and educating me and
- 19:46Speaker 1: bringing some of the things that I wanted to lie
- 19:49Speaker 1: actually comes from Excel has has done a tremendous job
- 19:51Speaker 1: of helping lift this wine business off the ground for me,
- 19:55Speaker 1: helping me, helping me in terms of selecting um a
- 20:00Speaker 1: PR team, helping me in terms of selecting a wine company,
- 20:03Speaker 1: helping me in terms of selecting the proper designers to
- 20:06Speaker 1: do the bottle, of the proper designers to do the label,
- 20:09Speaker 1: and the proper designers to help me come with the
- 20:11Speaker 1: name in general. So there was a lot that really
- 20:13Speaker 1: went into this process from start to finished, from from
- 20:17Speaker 1: the original taste a year and a half ago. So
- 20:20Speaker 1: now it's crazy how much I've been able to learn,
- 20:23Speaker 1: not only about wine, but about myself and about Pinot
- 20:26Speaker 1: Noor in general. Now, former teammates really get helping was
- 20:29Speaker 1: involved as well. Evan Turner, I believe h was. It
- 20:34Speaker 1: was instrumental. E t is my guy. Yeah, he's in Atlanta, right,
- 20:39Speaker 1: he's it was. It was the Hawks. Nice. Where is
- 20:41Speaker 1: he now? Yeah? Yeah, he was with the Hawks. I
- 20:43Speaker 1: think he got bought out and is now currently a
- 20:46Speaker 1: free agent. But I actually my fiance introduced me to wine.
- 20:50Speaker 1: In college. I got drafted by the Portland Trailblazers. The
- 20:54Speaker 1: first people new our invertation was Walter Scott, which is
- 20:58Speaker 1: volcanic soil, and it was from Bryant Creek, my current
- 21:01Speaker 1: peno now that I released its volcanic soil and one
- 21:05Speaker 1: of the grips that we chose is from c J.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Your whole personality has changed since we started talking about wine.
- 21:11Speaker 1: You know that, right you you sitting on the edge
- 21:14Speaker 1: of your chair right now, you're probably sitting up straight.
- 21:18Speaker 1: That means you're passionate about it. You're excited about it, right,
- 21:22Speaker 1: I'm extremely excited. And it's crazy because one of the
- 21:25Speaker 1: I went to a winery with my paras when we
- 21:27Speaker 1: first got out here and then you fast forward and
- 21:30Speaker 1: Evan Turner and I went to a winery, and that's
- 21:32Speaker 1: when we really dove deep into the learning phase of
- 21:36Speaker 1: the barrels, the grapes, how long should it fermented? How
- 21:40Speaker 1: much alcohol should go into it production? Did they stop
- 21:44Speaker 1: the grapes? How do they be stem? What's the rotation
- 21:46Speaker 1: like on a bubbly versus a red? How do you
- 21:50Speaker 1: how do you produce a red? How do you produce
- 21:52Speaker 1: the bubbly? Should your grapes be south southeastern facing or
- 21:56Speaker 1: southwestern facing towards the sun? And we went through like
- 22:00Speaker 1: this whole thing, and that's when I really want to
- 22:03Speaker 1: continue to figure out ways to learn more about it
- 22:05Speaker 1: to the point where I educate myself. I read articles,
- 22:08Speaker 1: I watched Netflix documentaries on psalms, and I try to
- 22:12Speaker 1: do blind tastings and just explore as much as I can.
- 22:15Speaker 1: And I'm thankful and blessed to be in a position
- 22:17Speaker 1: where I can venture out and travel and experience wine
- 22:21Speaker 1: in so many different regions. I'm really I'm really thankful
- 22:23Speaker 1: for that. Now, with that being said, now let's talk
- 22:26Speaker 1: about the name is heritage namely one right that has
- 22:29Speaker 1: some significant rights. Yes, it's McCullum Harris ninety one. So
- 22:33Speaker 1: I put my name on it because legacy is huge
- 22:35Speaker 1: to me. I want my kids to really understand that
- 22:38Speaker 1: what we've been able to accomplish and how powerful the
- 22:41Speaker 1: mind is. Um. Heritage is huge, understanding where you come from,
- 22:45Speaker 1: what you come from and in your history. And I
- 22:48Speaker 1: also grew up on heritage av so that that kind
- 22:50Speaker 1: of when we took me back to my childhood. The
- 22:53Speaker 1: one is my birth year and the flower that's on
- 22:56Speaker 1: the bottle was my fiance's favorite flower. Are you some
- 22:59Speaker 1: kind of what everything together? And you smooth? J? You smooth?
- 23:05Speaker 1: Here is flower? You're romantic? But man, romantic? Now you
- 23:10Speaker 1: said Netflix? Now did you see the movie Uncorked on Netflix?
- 23:14Speaker 1: I haven't. Oh, come on, c J, come on, man,
- 23:18Speaker 1: you gotta see that. But you will love that movie. Man,
- 23:20Speaker 1: I saw it twice. It's outstanding. Man, you got to
- 23:23Speaker 1: see uncork. Its body is written and directed executive produced
- 23:28Speaker 1: by my man Prentice Penny, who executive produces Insecure on HBO.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Uncork you gotta watch it, man, It's outstanding. If you're
- 23:37Speaker 1: ye connoisseur, if you're ye connoisseur, you gotta watch this funny.
- 23:44Speaker 1: It's a father's son's story. It's a family story. Man
- 23:47Speaker 1: is passionate. It's entertaining. But because you are a wine connoisseur,
- 23:54Speaker 1: the language you are appreciated. It really is a great movie.
- 23:57Speaker 1: It's called Uncorked. It's on Netflix. You gotta watch it. Okay,
- 24:01Speaker 1: you no more? I'm done, I'm cool. I want to
- 24:03Speaker 1: do it now here. Here's my whole thing. My wife,
- 24:05Speaker 1: you know, she's a big wine corno suet herself. You know,
- 24:08Speaker 1: I actually didn't throw away all her corks one day.
- 24:10Speaker 1: I didn't realize how much, how much passion, and how
- 24:13Speaker 1: much love she had for those little corks she kept
- 24:15Speaker 1: in this little boot and in our kitchen in our
- 24:18Speaker 1: Houston home. One day, I just came in, just got
- 24:20Speaker 1: tired of looking at the corks, and I thought I
- 24:22Speaker 1: just do some manly stuff and discard him. That really
- 24:26Speaker 1: had a bad week for me there, c J wouldn't
- 24:28Speaker 1: didn't go good for me that week for your boy.
- 24:30Speaker 1: But what I want to know is how does one
- 24:33Speaker 1: get or purchase your wine. Let's go there, let's start marketing.
- 24:36Speaker 1: Let's start ourselves. That's that's an awesome question. Anybody that's
