- 0:00Speaker 1: Almost as important as the tax gus. We've slashed a
- 0:03Speaker 1: record number of job crushing regulations. That includes to you,
- 0:07Speaker 1: and that includes tremendous numbers of environmental regulations which stopped
- 0:12Speaker 1: your businesses. But they didn't do anything and they had
- 0:14Speaker 1: no impact. If anything, they made the environment worse. But
- 0:18Speaker 1: we eliminated one hundred and twenty nine old regulations for
- 0:21Speaker 1: every new one that was approved. It was supposed to
- 0:24Speaker 1: be one in ten and it's turning out to be
- 0:26Speaker 1: one hundred and twenty nine, one in one hundred and
- 0:29Speaker 1: twenty nine. So we're getting rid of one hundred and
- 0:32Speaker 1: twenty nine nonsense regulations pertainly new one that we've had.
- 0:36Speaker 2: You're listening to the forty seven Morning Update with Ben ferguson.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Good Tuesday morning. Nice to have you with us on
- 0:42Speaker 3: the forty seven Morning Update. And we've got one big
- 0:44Speaker 3: story coming out of the White House. First up, Iran
- 0:47Speaker 3: says they fired on US warships in the straight of
- 0:49Speaker 3: hor Moos. This coming is the US sinks not one,
- 0:53Speaker 3: not two, not three, not four, but five, no, no,
- 0:56Speaker 3: No six small Uranian fast boats. Trump warns the regime
- 1:01Speaker 3: that they can be blown off the face of the Earth. Now,
- 1:05Speaker 3: before we get to that, I want to say something
- 1:07Speaker 3: that's really important, and that is do you want to
- 1:10Speaker 3: help the people that are still under siege right now
- 1:13Speaker 3: in Israel? So many of you have stepped up to
- 1:16Speaker 3: help have a huge impact, and the International Fellowship of
- 1:19Speaker 3: Christians and Jews is on the front lines helping those
- 1:22Speaker 3: that are desperately in need right now that are in Israel.
- 1:26Speaker 3: And because of you, you're having a huge impact. All Right,
- 1:30Speaker 3: I want to take a moment and I want to
- 1:32Speaker 3: talk to you about the incredible impact that you can
- 1:34Speaker 3: have for the people of Israel right now, Right now,
- 1:38Speaker 3: our Jewish friends are feeling forgotten. There's a Jewish woman
- 1:42Speaker 3: named Esther I'd like to tell you about, and her
- 1:44Speaker 3: home is an Israel. Esther is living through days and
- 1:47Speaker 3: nights of fear. Sirens are sounding, rockets screaming through the sky,
- 1:52Speaker 3: long stretches spent in a bomb shelter.
- 1:55Speaker 4: She's eighty four years old.
- 1:57Speaker 3: Esther is elderly, She's fragile and all now imagine that
- 2:01Speaker 3: no help, no food deliveries, no medical care, no one
- 2:05Speaker 3: knocking at the door. It's a war zone. But because
- 2:08Speaker 3: of friends like you, Esther is not alone. Now through
- 2:12Speaker 3: the IFCJ. They are there, bringing her food, meeting her
- 2:17Speaker 3: urgent needs, and reminding Jewish people like Esther, you are
- 2:21Speaker 3: not forgotten in times of fear and uncertainty. Your compassion
- 2:26Speaker 3: brings hope and real help. Esther asks that you hear
- 2:29Speaker 3: these words quote to those who give, you are doing
- 2:33Speaker 3: a very great mitzvah, a good deed you give from
- 2:36Speaker 3: your heart.
- 2:37Speaker 4: May God protect you. Friends.
- 2:40Speaker 3: I want you to know that your gift to God's
- 2:42Speaker 3: people is truly hope giving and life saving. So if
- 2:46Speaker 3: you've not gotten involved with the IFCJ, please do it
- 2:49Speaker 3: now and don't wait. Call eight eight eight four eight
- 2:53Speaker 3: eight IFCJ right now. That's eight eight eight for eight
- 2:58Speaker 3: eight IFCJ. Or go to if CJ dot org. That's
- 3:03Speaker 3: IFCJ dot org. It's a forty seven morning update and
- 3:07Speaker 3: it starts right now.
- 3:08Speaker 2: Story number one.
- 3:09Speaker 3: I want to start by telling you what's happening right
- 3:12Speaker 3: now in the Strait of hor Moves. Iran has fired
- 3:15Speaker 3: on US warship in the Straight of Horn Moves after
- 3:18Speaker 3: Trump announced plans to guide ships through the passage. Now,
- 3:23Speaker 3: many people don't understand just how massive the Straight of
- 3:27Speaker 3: Horn Moves actually is. A lot of people think of
- 3:29Speaker 3: it as like a simple, easy waterway, almost like the
- 3:32Speaker 3: Panama Canal.
- 3:34Speaker 4: That is not the case at all.
- 3:35Speaker 3: There's been criticism saying, why can't Trump just take out
- 3:38Speaker 3: all these Iranian fastboats. We've again decimated their navy. But
- 3:43Speaker 3: these little fastboats that are almost like small boats that
- 3:46Speaker 3: you would see on a lake anywhere you go this summer,
- 3:49Speaker 3: with a lot of engines on the back so they
- 3:51Speaker 3: have speed, is exactly what is hitting these vessels. Now,
- 3:55Speaker 3: I'm going to do my best to explain to you
- 3:57Speaker 3: something that most Americans have no not fully understood or
- 4:01Speaker 3: grass because the media is a terrible job of truly
- 4:04Speaker 3: explaining this global shipping sector and the threat to our
- 4:09Speaker 3: navy and commercial vessels, and just how easy it is
- 4:12Speaker 3: for these small.
- 4:12Speaker 4: Boats to actually hide.
- 4:13Speaker 3: All right, So when we're talking about the strade of
- 4:17Speaker 3: horn moves and it's important, saying it that way is
- 4:21Speaker 3: honestly a massive understatement. This is one of the most
- 4:25Speaker 3: critical choke points on planet Earth. You have more than
- 4:28Speaker 3: twenty percent of the world's oil supply coming through here,
- 4:31Speaker 3: and that doesn't count all the other vessels from around
- 4:34Speaker 3: the world that use the trade of horn moves to
- 4:36Speaker 3: get things from point A to point B. Now, to
- 4:39Speaker 3: put it in perspective, at its narrowest point, the strait
- 4:43Speaker 3: is about twenty one miles wide at its narrowest point.
- 4:48Speaker 4: That's insane.
- 4:50Speaker 3: Now, that is something that if you think about, it's
- 4:53Speaker 3: really hard to be looking out and watching for all
- 4:56Speaker 3: these small boats all the time. Now, the shipping lanes
- 4:59Speaker 3: of the mave oil tankers and cargo ships are allowed
- 5:02Speaker 3: to use is actudently about two miles wide in each direction.
- 5:06Speaker 3: That's it. It's easy to control that. What's hard to
- 5:10Speaker 3: control is the other nineteen miles that you have on
- 5:12Speaker 3: the left of the right side, or you can divide
- 5:14Speaker 3: it up depending on where these ships are.
- 5:16Speaker 4: It is massive, So imagine this.
- 5:19Speaker 3: You've got a gigantic oil tanker, then you've got some
- 5:22Speaker 3: of the largest objects on Earth moving them. They're forced
- 5:24Speaker 3: into an essentially a narrow highway on the water, making
- 5:28Speaker 3: them very easy targets. And then there are multiple layers
- 5:32Speaker 3: of threats that can come after them because they are
- 5:35Speaker 3: in this two mile wide area, all right, So it
- 5:38Speaker 3: makes them sitting ducks. Now you also can ask a
- 5:40Speaker 3: question why the shipping lane's there. That's the deepest points,
- 5:42Speaker 3: and these ships are huge and they're way below the
- 5:45Speaker 3: water line right because of how much cargo. So that's
- 5:48Speaker 3: part of the reason why you have these narrow basically
- 5:51Speaker 3: highway going through the strait for these massive tankers.
- 5:55Speaker 4: All right.
- 5:55Speaker 3: Now, I RAN strategy is one that is it's really
- 6:00Speaker 3: tough to deal with. It's not a go head to
- 6:02Speaker 3: head with the US Navy in a traditional fight.
- 6:05Speaker 4: We already did that. They lost.
- 6:07Speaker 3: We completely took out their entire navy of their large ships.
- 6:11Speaker 4: We know that all right.
- 6:12Speaker 3: Now they're basically using runabouts like the average boat you
- 6:15Speaker 3: would be using if you're going out there to go
- 6:19Speaker 3: sight seeing on a lake, or if you're buying a
- 6:22Speaker 3: boat to go wait, you know, to go skiing behind.
- 6:25Speaker 3: That is what they're using now, that size boat to
- 6:29Speaker 3: go after these tankers and these container ships. All right,
- 6:32Speaker 3: So this is a lot like just terror, isn't that
- 6:36Speaker 3: we see around the world. It's really hard to find
- 6:38Speaker 3: a lone wolf. It's really hard to find one individual
- 6:40Speaker 3: that wants to blow up you know, a car, or
- 6:43Speaker 3: to blow up a bus, or to blow up something
- 6:45Speaker 3: in a you know, next to a hotel like a restaurant.
- 6:48Speaker 3: You understand that's what they're doing now in the Strait
- 6:51Speaker 3: of Horn moves. They deploy these small, fast attack boats,
- 6:55Speaker 3: all right. They are operated by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard.
- 6:59Speaker 3: They're not stud okay, they're pretty smart. These boats are
- 7:02Speaker 3: designed to be low profile, they're designed to be extremely fast,
- 7:07Speaker 3: and they're designed to be highly maneuverable. You could say
- 7:11Speaker 3: that these boats are faster and smaller than even the
- 7:14Speaker 3: boats that you see that pirates have used to go
- 7:16Speaker 3: after ships around the Horn of Africa, for example. They
- 7:21Speaker 3: also are armed with heavy machine guns, rocket launchers and
- 7:26Speaker 3: even anti ship missiles. So this is well executed, well
- 7:31Speaker 3: thought out, and they hide well on the sea, all right.
- 7:34Speaker 3: So all of that is against Basically, the odds are
- 7:38Speaker 3: stacked against us in that way. Now here's the other
- 7:40Speaker 3: thing that's interesting. These boats can run skinny. What does
- 7:43Speaker 3: that mean. It means in very little water, they can
- 7:46Speaker 3: hug the coastline, they can blend in with normal fishing traffic.
- 7:51Speaker 3: They can hide along and among the commercial vessels as well.
- 7:55Speaker 3: The Persian Gulf, by the way, is very busy. There's
- 7:58Speaker 3: constant movement, there's legitimate traffic everywhere, and that cluster makes
- 8:04Speaker 3: it actually easier for these boats to hide among other
- 8:06Speaker 3: boats and look like it's one thing on the water,
- 8:08Speaker 3: when actually it's two things, a large boat and a
- 8:10Speaker 3: small boat. So by the time one of these boats
- 8:13Speaker 3: breaks away and then starts accelerating towards a tanker or
- 8:16Speaker 3: a navy ship, you may have like minutes or even
- 8:21Speaker 3: seconds to react because you don't have the radar system
- 8:26Speaker 3: that many of us would imagine to see all of
- 8:29Speaker 3: these little boats coming at you.
- 8:31Speaker 4: Now, just think about.
- 8:32Speaker 3: The logistics the physics here. You've got a massive, old
- 8:35Speaker 3: tanker that can't swerve or stop. These ships take miles
- 8:40Speaker 3: to change course. Literally, they're very slow, they're very predictable,
- 8:45Speaker 3: and they're very vulnerable. In these narrow highway lanes that
- 8:48Speaker 3: are two miles wide, the Iranian boats can swarm, meaning
- 8:53Speaker 3: you're not dealing with one threat, you're dealing with five
- 8:55Speaker 3: or ten or even a dozen of them coming from
- 8:57Speaker 3: multiple directions at once at one of these tapers. They
- 9:01Speaker 3: practice this, they're pretty good at it, and it's like
- 9:04Speaker 3: trying to defend a convoy of semi trucks on a
- 9:07Speaker 3: two lane road all right, while motorcycles are flying at
- 9:10Speaker 3: them in every angle of direction at high speed. That
- 9:14Speaker 3: is the best analogy that I can give you. Now,
- 9:17Speaker 3: you've got roughly twenty percent of the world's old supply
- 9:20Speaker 3: that's passing through the strait. Any disruption, even a temporary one,
- 9:24Speaker 3: sends the energy prices skyrocketing overnight.
- 9:26Speaker 4: We've witnessed that.
- 9:28Speaker 3: So now that you understand this, I want to go
- 9:31Speaker 3: back to what America did do, and it's pretty impressive.
- 9:34Speaker 3: In the last twenty four hours, the US has sunk
- 9:38Speaker 3: six of these small iranium boats. I would refer them
- 9:42Speaker 3: as mosquitoes. And Trump is also now warning the regime
- 9:47Speaker 3: that they could be blown off the face of the
- 9:48Speaker 3: earth if they don't stop this. Now, we sink these
- 9:51Speaker 3: six small iranium boats that were deployed to harassed vessels
- 9:55Speaker 3: that were stuck in the Strait of Horn Moves shortly before,
- 9:58Speaker 3: Trump warn Islamic Republic that look, you guys, keep this up,
- 10:03Speaker 3: I'm going to blow you off the face of the earth.
- 10:05Speaker 3: And I'm sick and tired of dealing with you, and
- 10:07Speaker 3: you guys better reopen the critical waterway and we're going
- 10:10Speaker 3: to do everything we can.
- 10:11Speaker 4: Now.
- 10:12Speaker 3: Admiral Brad Cooper, who's head of the US Central Command
- 10:14Speaker 3: known as syncome, he told reporters Monday afternoon in a
- 10:18Speaker 3: press call that while Iran historically has to ploy between
- 10:22Speaker 3: twenty and forty small boats to threaten commercial shipping in
- 10:25Speaker 3: the Strait, he said today we saw it just six
- 10:28Speaker 3: and we were able to eliminate all of them. He said,
- 10:31Speaker 3: we have an enormous amount of capacity, capability and firepower
- 10:36Speaker 3: that's now concentrated in and around the Strait, including Apache helicopters,
- 10:41Speaker 3: Seahawk helicopters, and he also emacides that Iran's military capability
- 10:46Speaker 3: has been dramatically degraded, which means we've got an upper
- 10:50Speaker 3: hand right now on this.
- 10:52Speaker 4: Again. That is great news. When you look at the
- 10:55Speaker 4: Straight of Horn moves.
- 10:56Speaker 3: Not only does it connect the Persian Gulf to the
- 10:58Speaker 3: Gulf of Aman, it can next one part of the
- 11:00Speaker 3: world to the other. And it's massive. It's not small.
- 11:04Speaker 3: And I say that so that you understand just how
- 11:07Speaker 3: big this is now. Monday strike occurred after Trump and
- 11:10Speaker 3: own Sunday evening of this new Project Freedom. It's this
- 11:15Speaker 3: initiative to move maritime traffic through the Strait since it's
- 11:20Speaker 3: been backed up for months from the start of Operation
- 11:22Speaker 3: Epic Fury on February the twenty eighth. Iran then came
- 11:26Speaker 3: out and warned that it would resist any effort to
- 11:29Speaker 3: force open the strait and insisted that any ships attempting
- 11:32Speaker 3: to move through the waterway must coordinate with Tehran first,
- 11:37Speaker 3: prompting Trump to tell Fox News that the Middle Eastern
- 11:40Speaker 3: regime would be blown off the face of the earth
- 11:42Speaker 3: again if it attacks US flagged vessels, saying, quote, we
- 11:48Speaker 3: have more weapons and ammunition at a much higher grade
- 11:51Speaker 3: than we had before, is what Trump said. We have
- 11:54Speaker 3: the best equipment, We have staff all over the world.
- 11:58Speaker 3: We have these bases all over the world. They're all
- 12:00Speaker 3: stucked up with equipment, and we can use all of
- 12:03Speaker 3: that stuff, and we will if we need it. Now,
- 12:06Speaker 3: the President claimed that Iran has become much softer. In
- 12:09Speaker 3: other words, you can you can mold them more regarding
- 12:12Speaker 3: the peace talks that have stagnated since mid April. Now,
- 12:16Speaker 3: let me also go back to what Sincom said.
- 12:20Speaker 4: All right.
- 12:20Speaker 3: Cooper did not say whether America's strikes on Iran's fast
- 12:26Speaker 3: attack boats and Turan's claims that it fired at US
- 12:29Speaker 3: warships constant a collapse of the fragile ceasefire secured last month,
- 12:34Speaker 3: so that is again up in the air at this
- 12:37Speaker 3: point on what's really happening. What Cooper did say was this,
- 12:41Speaker 3: I think the key thing here for us is we're
- 12:45Speaker 3: merely there as a defensive force to give a very
- 12:49Speaker 3: thick layer of defense to commercial ships and commercial shipping
- 12:54Speaker 3: to allow them to proceed out of the Persian Gulf.
- 12:58Speaker 3: Now right now, there are there are literally hundreds and
- 13:02Speaker 3: hundreds of ships that are anchored. You have about eighty
- 13:06Speaker 3: seven different countries now that have ships that are flagged
- 13:11Speaker 3: to them that are sitting in the Persian Gulf. Syncom said,
- 13:16Speaker 3: our job is to give them safe passage.
- 13:20Speaker 4: Now here's what we also know.
- 13:22Speaker 3: At least two US ships crossed the straight up from
- 13:25Speaker 3: Moves on Monday, according to Syncome. A claim that a
- 13:27Speaker 3: ram slammed is quote unquote baseless, and again that's nothing
- 13:31Speaker 3: but propaganda. I also want you to understand something else
- 13:34Speaker 3: about these fast boats that are very sophisticated. A right,
- 13:37Speaker 3: they're small. They can hide. It's a very large body
- 13:41Speaker 3: of water. They can hide behind other vessels in an attack,
- 13:43Speaker 3: and you have virtually no warning. These boats, some of
- 13:47Speaker 3: them are smaller than twenty feet long. Now, a typical
- 13:52Speaker 3: boat that you would go skiing behind for your family
- 13:55Speaker 3: is usually twenty two to twenty five feet, so a
- 13:59Speaker 3: lot of these are smaller than that. Some of them
- 14:02Speaker 3: even have just one engine but still are able to
- 14:04Speaker 3: haul it. Many of them have two and three engines
- 14:07Speaker 3: on a very tiny boat. And these are calm waters
- 14:10Speaker 3: in the street of four moves, so they're able to
- 14:12Speaker 3: just haul it almost like a jet ski I would
- 14:14Speaker 3: describe it with just just on top of the water
- 14:17Speaker 3: and flooring it. Now, it also remains to be seen
- 14:20Speaker 3: how many foreign ships are going to take up saycomes
- 14:23Speaker 3: offer to move through the strait after a South Korean
- 14:27Speaker 3: used carrier reported an explosion and fire on board when
- 14:32Speaker 3: it attempts to cross the waterway. So that's new news there,
- 14:35Speaker 3: I guess self. Create didn't want our help. They decided
- 14:37Speaker 3: to go to loan. That didn't work very well for them.
- 14:40Speaker 3: So what does this mean? Now, it's pretty clear that
- 14:44Speaker 3: the present saying I'll give you a safe passage if
- 14:47Speaker 3: you want it. You have another boat, by the way
- 14:49Speaker 3: that suffered a blast early Monday while fire broke out
- 14:52Speaker 3: in the engine room of a Panama flag cargo ship.
- 14:55Speaker 3: South Korea's foreign minister has also confirmed now Trump said
- 14:58Speaker 3: that that attack on the Namu should push Soul, South Korea,
- 15:04Speaker 3: which has twenty six ships trapped in the golf, to
- 15:06Speaker 3: join US and military operations to secure the strait. We'll
- 15:09Speaker 3: see if they actually do it, the president, saying this
- 15:12Speaker 3: on true social quote, perhaps it's time for South Korea
- 15:15Speaker 3: to come and join the mission. Other than the South
- 15:17Speaker 3: Korean ship, there has been at this moment no damage
- 15:21Speaker 3: to ships going through the strait, the President wrote, noting
- 15:24Speaker 3: that military commanders will speak to reporters on Tuesday about
- 15:28Speaker 3: all of these operations. Now, along with the South Korean ship,
- 15:31Speaker 3: you had a UAE oil tanker that was targeted by
- 15:33Speaker 3: an Iranian drone as it tried to cross the strade
- 15:36Speaker 3: and caught fire as well. So Iran is doing everything
- 15:40Speaker 3: they can to try to hurt the US and to
- 15:43Speaker 3: try to shut down the strait. That is obvious, the
- 15:46Speaker 3: President saying, We're not gonna have it. And then the
- 15:48Speaker 3: question becomes, what is next. Is the President going to
- 15:52Speaker 3: go back and start hitting targets and individuals in Iran?
- 15:57Speaker 3: That is what is really going to be the big
- 16:00Speaker 3: question that so many are gonna be looking at next.
- 16:03Speaker 3: What's very clear, as the President has made it clear
- 16:06Speaker 3: he's not gonna be screwed with or held hostage, and
- 16:08Speaker 3: America is there to win, and America is there also
- 16:11Speaker 3: to give safe passage.
- 16:14Speaker 4: That is very clear.
- 16:16Speaker 3: So now we wait and we see what the President
- 16:18Speaker 3: does next, but I have a feeling it's gonna be
- 16:21Speaker 3: pretty darn aggressive. Quick break, Ben Ferguson Show, More coming up.
