County accepts Bank of Utah parcel beneath road
Box Elder County commissioners agreed Aug. 12 to accept a Bank of Utah parcel that lies entirely beneath an existing county road. Glenn Thurston of the County Attorney’s Office said the county’s treasurer’s office discovered the parcel after property taxes became delinquent. The parcel had apparently been omitted from a deed. Thurston described the bank’s proposal to the situation: “How about instead of paying property tax on a county road, we just give you the county road.” County documents place the property along 13600 North and 10800 West.
