- 1:58Speaker 1: your fad uh huh I show. Well, good morning everybody.
- 2:04Speaker 1: You're listening to the voice, Come on dig me now,
- 2:08Speaker 1: one and only Steve Harvey got a radio show. Well,
- 2:11Speaker 1: nothing changes about that, Nothing changes about that. Man. I
- 2:17Speaker 1: was just so getting ready to come on the air
- 2:20Speaker 1: this morning. I was just thinking, man, I was just
- 2:25Speaker 1: having a reflective moment of just how really good God
- 2:29Speaker 1: has been to me. I just it's it's it's man.
- 2:36Speaker 1: Let me just say that again, how really good God
- 2:39Speaker 1: has been to me. And here's a cold part. In
- 2:43Speaker 1: spite of myself, you understand, in spite of all my shortcomings,
- 2:49Speaker 1: in spite of all of my flaws and and and
- 2:53Speaker 1: and in spite of all of what anybody has said
- 2:57Speaker 1: about me, God, through his grace and mercy, just keeps
- 3:02Speaker 1: me anyway, so many of us are exceptional people, but
- 3:09Speaker 1: we refuse to just go ahead and be exceptional. We
- 3:16Speaker 1: settle for the ordinary, We follow the pack, We try
- 3:22Speaker 1: to fit in. Man, oh man, oh man. You know
- 3:25Speaker 1: I've heard my wife say this to my children all
- 3:29Speaker 1: the time. When she's scolding and talking to him. She'd
- 3:31Speaker 1: be talking to him about leadership. You know, why are
- 3:34Speaker 1: you following everybody when God clearly made you to lead?
- 3:38Speaker 1: So many of us are born, and so many of
- 3:40Speaker 1: you are born to be exceptional people, but we always
- 3:45Speaker 1: trying to follow the pack. Why would you try to
- 3:48Speaker 1: fit in? Why would you try to be like everybody
- 3:54Speaker 1: else be ordinary? Why would you follow the pack when
- 3:59Speaker 1: God has created to be exceptional? The key word in
- 4:03Speaker 1: exceptional is accept you. Ever you ever done this? Right here?
- 4:08Speaker 1: You know, everybody did that accept me. Everybody felt that
- 4:12Speaker 1: way except me. Everybody said that except me. Everybody won't
- 4:19Speaker 1: wanted that. Accept me. Everybody went over that except me.
- 4:25Speaker 1: Everybody jumped in except me, accept me. See why have
- 4:32Speaker 1: you said that in your life? If you were not
- 4:34Speaker 1: to be exceptional? See you got to say everybody accept
- 4:39Speaker 1: me at one point in You're to I don't know
- 4:41Speaker 1: who ain't done it? You know everybody wanted. Everybody voted
- 4:45Speaker 1: no except me? See it? So you're not You're not
- 4:50Speaker 1: created to follow the pack. You ain't created to fit in.
- 4:53Speaker 1: You ain't created to, uh you know, to be ordinary.
- 4:57Speaker 1: You will create it to be exceptional, as exceptional as
- 5:01Speaker 1: your fingerprint on your finger is. You were created to
- 5:05Speaker 1: be exceptional. Why not make this the year that you
- 5:09Speaker 1: go ahead on and be exceptional? Why won't this be
- 5:13Speaker 1: the year that you decide in your mind? But just
- 5:16Speaker 1: has to be a decision that we make. Now we're
- 5:19Speaker 1: not following the pack no more. We're not trying to
- 5:22Speaker 1: fit in no more. We ain't settling for ordinary no more.
- 5:26Speaker 1: We're gonna be exceptional. But you know, you got you
- 5:29Speaker 1: got to go ahead and follow that. You got to
- 5:31Speaker 1: get on the exceptional path because that's what you were
- 5:34Speaker 1: created for. Why be ordinary? You know? But all of
- 5:38Speaker 1: this this comes to it has to start with a thought.
- 5:42Speaker 1: You got to first think something thought to become things.
- 5:46Speaker 1: A man is as he thinketh that's all you will
- 5:50Speaker 1: ever be. So what are your thoughts today? Why not
- 5:54Speaker 1: have exceptional thoughts instead of ordinary thoughts? Why not have
- 5:58Speaker 1: exceptional thoughts instead of fitting me in thoughts? So why
- 6:01Speaker 1: you want to be like everybody else? Why you want
- 6:04Speaker 1: to be ordinary when you could possibly be extraordinary with
- 6:08Speaker 1: a change of your mind, a change of your venue,
- 6:11Speaker 1: And you don't have to be any other kind of
- 6:14Speaker 1: way just because my mama was this way, my daddy
- 6:17Speaker 1: was this way, or this the school I went to? This?
- 6:20Speaker 1: What race I belong to? This is my sexual preference,
- 6:23Speaker 1: this is my this, this is my dad? Why? How many?
- 6:26Speaker 1: How many? How many excuses? You need? I'm an excuse? What? What? What? What? You?
- 6:31Speaker 1: What's it gonna be this year that we let another
- 6:34Speaker 1: three hundred and sixty five days slip by without improving
- 6:38Speaker 1: our condition, our place, our spot, our life, the quality
- 6:43Speaker 1: of life we have. We cannot afford to keep letting
- 6:48Speaker 1: all these years go by without changing. You're an exceptional person.
- 6:55Speaker 1: How many times have you set up and said, everybody
- 6:58Speaker 1: did that accept me? You know I was only everybody
- 7:02Speaker 1: jumped in accept me. I told him, I knew it.
- 7:06Speaker 1: Everybody voted for that, accept me, And now look at him, man,
- 7:11Speaker 1: it seemed like everybody went that way, accept me. Okay,
- 7:16Speaker 1: do you get it? Do you understand what's being said
- 7:21Speaker 1: to you that don't accept me is because couldn't it
- 7:24Speaker 1: be because you're an exceptional person, and it's time for
- 7:28Speaker 1: you to take control of that. It's time for you
- 7:31Speaker 1: to start thinking different. It's time for you to start
- 7:33Speaker 1: acting on what you think. It's time for you to
- 7:36Speaker 1: start doing something about it. It's time for you to
- 7:38Speaker 1: stop taking each and every day that God gives us
- 7:41Speaker 1: for granted and letting them go by the wayside. Like
- 7:44Speaker 1: you got plenty more. Well, you may have plenty more,
- 7:47Speaker 1: but guess what what you wasting the ones you got for?
- 7:52Speaker 1: I got you young, and you and you feel like
- 7:54Speaker 1: you're gonna live forever. D Okay, cool, But let me
- 7:57Speaker 1: ask you something. See here, here, here go the part
- 8:00Speaker 1: about pose you do live? See see everybody willing about dying.
- 8:04Speaker 1: But I got news for you. Suppose you keep on living.
- 8:07Speaker 1: You want to keep living in the condition you in now.
- 8:10Speaker 1: You want to keep living with the money you got now.
- 8:13Speaker 1: You want to keep living with the relationship you got now.
- 8:15Speaker 1: You want to keep living by yourself like you are now.
- 8:19Speaker 1: You want to keep wanting the right relationship, the right man,
- 8:21Speaker 1: the the right woman, but you keep getting the wrong one.
- 8:23Speaker 1: You want to keep doing that for the rest of
- 8:26Speaker 1: your life. Problem ain't dying. It's problem is if you
- 8:28Speaker 1: keep on living. Who wants to keep on living just
- 8:31Speaker 1: the way they are right now? And if you can
- 8:34Speaker 1: say I'm cool, what I am, just the way I
- 8:36Speaker 1: am right now? In cool, this conversation ain't for you.
- 8:39Speaker 1: I ain't got no problem with that. You know, you
- 8:42Speaker 1: want to say, greatness ain't for everybody being exceptional, ain't
- 8:46Speaker 1: for everybody becoming extraordinary. It ain't fun everybody. Heck, becoming
- 8:51Speaker 1: successful ain't fun everybody. I got it. And you can
- 8:55Speaker 1: come up with a way to justify your non existence
- 8:58Speaker 1: in your ordinary life. All you won't, And that's fine
- 9:01Speaker 1: and dandy. I ain't got no problem with it. Because
- 9:03Speaker 1: some people just gonna be regular. Some people just gonna
- 9:07Speaker 1: follow the pack, follow the crowd. Some people just wants
- 9:10Speaker 1: to fit in. But if you're not that person, if
- 9:14Speaker 1: you want to be extraordinary, if you want to be exceptional,
- 9:17Speaker 1: if you want to be if you want to dare
- 9:19Speaker 1: to be great at something, and you got to change
- 9:22Speaker 1: your mind set. You got to get with your creating,
- 9:25Speaker 1: find out what he created you fault. You gotta quit
- 9:27Speaker 1: thinking of things just in your own thought process, you know,
- 9:31Speaker 1: lean not to your own understanding. I don't know what
- 9:33Speaker 1: that is, but it's in there somewhere. Seeing. Once you lean,
- 9:36Speaker 1: if you lean to your own understanding, you know what
- 9:39Speaker 1: it's gonna do. It's gonna limit you, man, it's gonna
- 9:42Speaker 1: limit you. Why not see what God got for you?
- 9:45Speaker 1: I would rather know what God got for me than
- 9:48Speaker 1: to think of all the things I could, because I
- 9:50Speaker 1: can't out think him out and tried it before. All right,
- 9:53Speaker 1: it's just the beginning. We're gonna have a good one. Man.
- 9:55Speaker 1: Let's go. You're listening, all right, everybody? As you know
- 10:02Speaker 1: how you feel. The weekend was very short. It's over.

- 19:21Speaker 1: give here. We do stuff for our community and our fans. Man,
- 19:25Speaker 1: that that that goes beyond because I tell you I
- 19:29Speaker 1: never did this for awards. It's never. It was never.
- 19:32Speaker 1: And then for them to any that you know what
- 19:35Speaker 1: they was. J Let me ask you a question, though,
- 19:38Speaker 1: real quickly tell everybody what foundation is, what it's about,
- 19:42Speaker 1: don't know? Yeah, curious Hope is just promoting awareness for
- 19:45Speaker 1: sickle cell. I do a lot of things for families
- 19:48Speaker 1: who have kids with sickle cell, because sickle cell don't
- 19:51Speaker 1: affect just one child, it affects an entire family. And
- 19:54Speaker 1: I do that the Kount of my heart. Man, we give,
- 19:56Speaker 1: we pay for Christmases, we give some posiums, we do everything.
- 20:00Speaker 1: People was clapping for the proclamation. I was crying, not
- 20:03Speaker 1: for the proclamation. I was crying for the mistakes I
- 20:06Speaker 1: had made. And now you're wining something and then you're
- 20:08Speaker 1: gonna give me if you just knew all the stuff
- 20:10Speaker 1: I had stuff. Yeah, that's part. That's with everyone, Drew.
- 20:16Speaker 1: Everybody has their story and that's your nobody story. And
- 20:19Speaker 1: you know you're doing well with the congratulations, Thank yall.
- 20:24Speaker 1: I would tell you this man Jay has done nothing
- 20:28Speaker 1: for nothing nothing. Wow, there's descension in the ranks, all right. Listen.

- 25:23Speaker 1: we can finish this because it is going on way

- 25:28Speaker 1: being a lot of the contestants were spilling inward please,
- 25:31Speaker 1: and that was throwing everybody off. There was nothing they

- 33:45Speaker 1: figure out why a forty year old utility engineer shot
- 33:48Speaker 1: and killed twelve people on Friday at the municipal building
- 33:51Speaker 1: where he worked. Before he himself would kill was killed
- 33:54Speaker 1: by police. City manager Dave Hanson says the guy wasn't fired,
- 33:57Speaker 1: the perpetrator's performance satisfactory, that he was in good standing
- 34:03Speaker 1: within his department, and there were no issues of discipline ongoing. Meanwhile,
- 34:10Speaker 1: David Hanson says that four people remained hospitalized in critical condition.
- 34:13Speaker 1: The FEDS also have now taken over the investigation. California
- 34:17Speaker 1: Democrats wrapped up their statewide convention in San Francisco yesterday
- 34:21Speaker 1: with fourteen candidates. They're trying to make their political pitches
- 34:24Speaker 1: to the party faithful. By the way, even though the
- 34:26Speaker 1: convention was on Kamala Harris's home turf, the candidates that
- 34:30Speaker 1: seemed to draw the most enthusiastic responses were actually Massachusetts
- 34:34Speaker 1: Centator at Elizabeth Warren, Pete Boudhajig, and Jersey Santa Cory Booker. Meanwhile,
- 34:39Speaker 1: most Poles showed Joe Biden still leading the pack. However,
- 34:42Speaker 1: he campaigned in Ohio all the weekend. As you heard
- 34:45Speaker 1: Cala talk about tributes and condolences continuing to pour in
- 34:48Speaker 1: into New Orleans over the passing of the Queen of
- 34:50Speaker 1: Creole cuisine. Restaurateur Leah Chase, Miss Chase, propride of the
- 34:54Speaker 1: famous Dukie Chase restaurant, died a Saturday, at age ninety six,
- 34:58Speaker 1: Leah Chase and her late husband, the Edgar Dukie Chase,
- 35:01Speaker 1: expanded and transformed was originally a sandwich shop in the
- 35:04Speaker 1: nineteen forties into a high class eatery in the surrogated
- 35:08Speaker 1: South where blacks were welcomed, didn't have to worry about
- 35:11Speaker 1: being threatened or harassed by whites, and was therefore safe
- 35:14Speaker 1: hazen haven for African Americans doing the civil rights movement.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Leah Chase spoke about her life on National Public Radio
- 35:20Speaker 1: back in twenty thirteen years. So it's fun. That is
- 35:23Speaker 1: a good feeling for me that people remember me. I
- 35:26Speaker 1: couldn't live honey without people. Yeah, Ray Charles wasn't the
- 35:31Speaker 1: only one who went to Dukie Chase to get something
- 35:33Speaker 1: to eat. Also, some other guests included the Reverend Martin
- 35:36Speaker 1: Luther King, Junior Supreme Court Justice Thirdgood Marshall. Even Presidents
- 35:40Speaker 1: George W. Bush and Barack Obama made it their favorite
- 35:43Speaker 1: stop for jambalayah, gumbo, red beans and rice, and so
- 35:46Speaker 1: many other Southern meals. Among her many honors, Leah Chase
- 35:50Speaker 1: the first black restaurant tour to receive the James Beard
- 35:52Speaker 1: Lifetime Achievement Award again. Leah Chase dead at ninety six,
- 35:55Speaker 1: finally tops at the week being the box office. Yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 1: it was Godzilla's World, bringing forty nine million dollars domestically
- 36:03Speaker 1: one hundred thirty mill internationally. Now back to the Steve
- 36:06Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show. You're listening to this Dave Harvey Morning Show. Well, guys,
- 36:11Speaker 1: another sad, awful shooting. Our heartfelt thoughts and prayers are
- 36:16Speaker 1: going out to the city and the community of Virginia Beach.
- 36:19Speaker 1: This past Friday was one of America's deadliest workplace shootings.
- 36:23Speaker 1: Dwayne Kradick submitted a letter of resignation from his job
- 36:27Speaker 1: as an engineer for the City of Virginia Beach this
- 36:30Speaker 1: past Friday morning, just hours before murdering twelve people and
- 36:34Speaker 1: injuring six people at the government building where he worked.
- 36:38Speaker 1: Dwayne Kraddock's motives were unclear, and investigators said even though
- 36:42Speaker 1: he resigned, Kradick was not in danger of being fired
- 36:46Speaker 1: and his performance was considered satisfactory. Dwayne Kradick used two
- 36:51Speaker 1: forty five caliber handguns in the shooting, and police found
- 36:55Speaker 1: a sound suppressor commonly known as a silencer, and extended magazines.
- 37:01Speaker 1: He purchased the guns legally and he was killed by
- 37:04Speaker 1: law enforcement officials. This is the great I mean, come on,
- 37:10Speaker 1: come on, yeah, instead of this is just getting worse.
- 37:14Speaker 1: It's so out of hand. I mean, it seems like
- 37:16Speaker 1: we say the same thing after every mass shooting. This
- 37:19Speaker 1: is so awful. And spot, it's a nice nice from me,
- 37:25Speaker 1: Jay and and go down and work. This is where
- 37:28Speaker 1: we go. We go down, we tell jokes there. This
- 37:31Speaker 1: is our spot. You know, the community. Community, Oh my god, Carlin,
- 37:36Speaker 1: we love going on. I'm talking about you out your
- 37:39Speaker 1: room all day, hanging in the community. And not to mention,
- 37:42Speaker 1: when you do a show in Virginia Beach, all types
- 37:44Speaker 1: of people come to you. Everyone, I mean all races, definitely, everyone.
- 37:51Speaker 1: They come out right, Our hearts definitely go out, prayers
- 37:55Speaker 1: go out. But they need to. This gun lobby thing
- 37:58Speaker 1: has got to change. And until the President and the
- 38:01Speaker 1: Republicans get more serious about dealing with the gun lobby,
- 38:05Speaker 1: it's not going to change at all. And I don't
- 38:07Speaker 1: see that happen. It's gonna be known unfortunately, if you
- 38:10Speaker 1: make it easier for people to get these guns. I mean,
- 38:12Speaker 1: that's part of it too, It says he purchased his legally.
- 38:15Speaker 1: But there's also some issues with mental health that we
- 38:18Speaker 1: need to talk about workplace safety as far as maybe
- 38:22Speaker 1: installed metal detectors, having security guards at work at all places.
- 38:26Speaker 1: But no, the Republicans, they're too busy word about abortion. Yeah,
- 38:31Speaker 1: that's a crisis for them right now, and said how
- 38:33Speaker 1: many people have to die in mass shootings for this
- 38:37Speaker 1: to be addressed? Yeah, and I do see. I do
- 38:39Speaker 1: see in the future and not too distant future, a
- 38:43Speaker 1: more workplace safety where we might have to have metal
- 38:46Speaker 1: detectors to go to work and all of that. I
- 38:49Speaker 1: do see that because there's some Yeah, they're definitely seriously
- 38:54Speaker 1: to work what or or to school, or to the movies,
- 38:59Speaker 1: or to the mall. I mean, yeah, anywhere anywhere where
- 39:04Speaker 1: we've seen these mass shootings because he purchased his gun legally.
- 39:09Speaker 1: Um yeah, all right, Well, coming up at thirty four
- 39:12Speaker 1: after the hour, again, our prayers and our thoughts are
- 39:15Speaker 1: with the people of Virginia Beach. Right now, coming up
- 39:17Speaker 1: at thirty four after the hour, we're going to switch
- 39:20Speaker 1: gears and talk about trending sports news. The boxing match
- 39:23Speaker 1: this past weekend. Wow, what's with folks getting hit at
- 39:26Speaker 1: baseball games, and we'll talk about the NBA finals all
- 39:30Speaker 1: that coming up right after this. You're listening to the show,
- 39:35Speaker 1: all right, time to talk some sports, Junior. What you got, Well,
- 39:39Speaker 1: you've already seen this weekend. We must don't. We must thought.
- 39:44Speaker 1: First of all, we must say a condolency always sorry, No,
- 39:49Speaker 1: it's embarrassing. We're sorry to Canada, no go a little
- 39:54Speaker 1: first in England apologized to the queen because he came
- 40:02Speaker 1: all the way over here and got his spirit and
- 40:05Speaker 1: not back. Who is he? Anthony Joshua lost his heavyweight
- 40:11Speaker 1: championship to Andy Ruiz, but but the Queen was with him.
- 40:16Speaker 1: Though yes, everybody, all those hi hi are people right out? Yeah,
- 40:22Speaker 1: but wait a minute, we have to talk about Anthony
- 40:25Speaker 1: Ruiz did not look like a fighter at all. He
- 40:27Speaker 1: don't look but that Hispanic brother was fighting. Man. Did
- 40:32Speaker 1: you see his dressing night? He had a play, he
- 40:35Speaker 1: had just eight, He had just been he was looking
- 40:41Speaker 1: his throughs at the time and went out there and
- 40:46Speaker 1: one junior, he was not playing though. That's what I
- 40:51Speaker 1: wanted to ask. So what do you think made him
- 40:54Speaker 1: win that fight? Was it sheer will and determination or
- 40:57Speaker 1: was it some skill involved fighter? I tell you what
- 41:02Speaker 1: it didn't do for Joshua. What defense. I'm at home
- 41:08Speaker 1: watching the fun I was, I was. I was in
- 41:10Speaker 1: the corner being his quarterman from home. Did you see
- 41:13Speaker 1: the jail? Are you looking at the hook? You think
- 41:17Speaker 1: you think he took this guy lightly? I'd say, heaven,
- 41:24Speaker 1: he was not Andy Ruise nothing. He fought a great fight.
- 41:28Speaker 1: But when you saw him coming rain, you swore to
- 41:30Speaker 1: God like you didn't think he was gonna win. All
- 41:34Speaker 1: I saw, all I saw, what I'm saying, had a chance.
- 41:39Speaker 1: All I saw and short too small your shorts, and
- 41:46Speaker 1: I see your draw. He didn't look like he was
- 41:49Speaker 1: gonna win. Let's just be honest. I didn't see a man.
- 41:55Speaker 1: He was a man. He was whooping him. Put him
- 41:59Speaker 1: to the cam his full times and one of the
- 42:02Speaker 1: times he got up. That's what he said. Is it
- 42:04Speaker 1: three of them or the two of them? Okay, okay, okay.
- 42:08Speaker 1: But Julian caller sent me a video. Did you see
- 42:12Speaker 1: it was yes, Julian, and the brother got hit. It
- 42:19Speaker 1: looked like he had left the fight. He no plane.
- 42:26Speaker 1: That video was when he hit him, his spirit left
- 42:30Speaker 1: his body and jumped on British airways and went back
- 42:35Speaker 1: to England. Was tolerant. That was funny. Oh my god,
- 42:39Speaker 1: that was funny. Was funny. Oh okay, wait call it
- 42:42Speaker 1: call have you posted this? You have to post this?
- 42:45Speaker 1: Call it? So yeah, because that right came across and
- 42:50Speaker 1: he hit and you see that little blue spirit leave
- 42:53Speaker 1: that like it's walking and it said Magic Square Garden.
- 42:57Speaker 1: Then British Airways show up and that plane take it off. Man,
- 43:01Speaker 1: I was man, that was hilarious. So it's safe to
- 43:09Speaker 1: say now Anthony Ruiz is a very rich man right now,
- 43:13Speaker 1: you know, and and right now we don't know what
- 43:17Speaker 1: you want on that right, but he's gonna have what
- 43:20Speaker 1: he wants. He's gonna have. He's gonna have to defend. Yeah,
- 43:24Speaker 1: but then he'll make it check. Then that's gonna be
- 43:26Speaker 1: his big He was the belt. Yeah, he was not
- 43:29Speaker 1: expected expect to win. No, I know, I didn't think.
- 43:33Speaker 1: Now you're the champion. You got paid two and now
- 43:36Speaker 1: I'm said that they're gonna have to get you another check.
- 43:38Speaker 1: But then he says something to his mom after the fight,
- 43:41Speaker 1: like they weren't gonna have to struggle anymore. Yeah something yeah, yeah,
- 43:44Speaker 1: because he knew too. That touched my heart. Yeah, he knew.
- 43:48Speaker 1: And then we want to give a shout out to
- 43:50Speaker 1: also to the Warriors. They won last time you said
- 43:52Speaker 1: that really lightly yeah, one man, one on nine, one
- 43:57Speaker 1: on four. Last yeah, they won man they want let night. Yeah,
- 44:02Speaker 1: so now we gotta now we got a series now now,
- 44:04Speaker 1: y'at have made the little light skin boys upset and
- 44:06Speaker 1: speaking of light skins, Drake and Draymond Day made up
- 44:09Speaker 1: or something made up? Nothing made Drake sit out here.
- 44:15Speaker 1: We gotta go. You ain't straight. The nephew is up
- 44:19Speaker 1: next with the praying phone call for today. Right after this,
- 44:22Speaker 1: you're listening to Steve Morning Show coming up at the

- 49:02Speaker 1: You ain't even doing nothing. I don't tell me I
- 49:04Speaker 1: ain't doing nothing. I tell you what I am doing.
- 49:07Speaker 1: I'm trying to do something. Every time I take a step,
- 49:09Speaker 1: you take two steps. I can't hang hang hoh man,
- 49:12Speaker 1: what kid? Hey? Yeah, you don't kill me. Why don't
- 49:16Speaker 1: you quit trying and do something? You aren't killing me? Man?
- 49:19Speaker 1: With that on you trying to do something? Why don't
- 49:21Speaker 1: you do something? Dog, you shouldn't have been here talking
- 49:24Speaker 1: to me about what you're trying. You tall of selling
- 49:27Speaker 1: that same thing to your people. You're trying where your
- 49:29Speaker 1: tie to me and trying still where you're gonna do something.
- 49:33Speaker 1: I'm doing something right now. You're talking to me on
- 49:36Speaker 1: the floor. You're gonna be improving your relationship with your
- 49:39Speaker 1: girl or whoever you're trying to get it together. But
- 49:41Speaker 1: you're on the phone with me complaining because I don't

- 49:46Speaker 1: probably ain't read it no way, And don't watch the
- 49:48Speaker 1: TV show. You probably ain't working enough to play the bill. Noh,
- 49:51Speaker 1: I let me wait a minute. Jo. You don't know
- 49:53Speaker 1: nothing about me, Okay, you don't know nothing about my finances.
- 49:56Speaker 1: You know what I won't about your finances. This about
- 50:00Speaker 1: you as a man. Man. If you don't want y'all kimmy,

- 50:11Speaker 1: always on the blog talking about me. You don't even
- 50:13Speaker 1: know me. Then when you're giving me face to face,
- 50:16Speaker 1: you want to bring up money. This concients ain't got
- 50:18Speaker 1: nothing to do about money. I ain't brought him money
- 50:20Speaker 1: one time. It's about man who now, why don't you
- 50:23Speaker 1: do that right there? But no, Steve, it ain't about
- 50:25Speaker 1: money now because you got it, Okay, because you've got
- 50:28Speaker 1: it when you're broke. I bet that when you're at it,
- 50:31Speaker 1: I ain't got just what's a man? Just when I
- 50:34Speaker 1: was broked on, I was working. I wasn't sitting on
- 50:37Speaker 1: the phone crying to some other men by what he
- 50:39Speaker 1: meanting me feel with my wife. Yeah, and time I
- 50:42Speaker 1: take a step forward, you got me took the two
- 50:44Speaker 1: step around. That's why you ain't taking step but give me.

- 52:03Speaker 1: you know what because because because you can take off
- 52:07Speaker 1: come in light but time. I don't know how you
- 52:09Speaker 1: knew that time. But as soon as you handed the
- 52:12Speaker 1: phone off, it was open. I already knew he was
- 52:17Speaker 1: gonna bite the bait as soon as I as soon
- 52:20Speaker 1: as I was talking to the guy on the phone,
- 52:22Speaker 1: I knew I was setting him. Was like, he gonna
- 52:25Speaker 1: ask for this phone, and you know what, all he
- 52:27Speaker 1: said was give me the phone sometimes sometimes killing out
- 52:32Speaker 1: in his strong point. It really a long time, longer
- 52:38Speaker 1: than all of the the straight killing out let that
- 52:42Speaker 1: go na. He don't do that. There is no one

- 53:54Speaker 1: the straw Very Let all right, you guys, get ready.
- 53:58Speaker 1: Steve's and I here so we want to hear from
- 53:59Speaker 1: the Ellas on this one as well. Jay Junior, the nephew,
- 54:07Speaker 1: Oh lord, all right, here we go. Subject, my vows
- 54:11Speaker 1: are weighing heavy on me. Dear Stephen Shirley I've been
- 54:15Speaker 1: married for sixteen years, and my wife and I are
- 54:18Speaker 1: headed for a divorce. We're headed for a divorce six
- 54:21Speaker 1: years ago because of her infidelity. She cheated on me
- 54:25Speaker 1: and admitted it. But shortly after that we found out
- 54:28Speaker 1: that she was really sick. So I decided to stay
- 54:31Speaker 1: with her and help her out because she could only
- 54:35Speaker 1: work part time because of all her medical appointment I
- 54:38Speaker 1: worked extra hours at a job that I really hated,
- 54:42Speaker 1: and I paid most of her medical bills. After all
- 54:45Speaker 1: of that, I found out that she had another affair
- 54:48Speaker 1: with a new guy at her job. I'm not trying
- 54:51Speaker 1: to boast, but I get approached by women all the time,
- 54:54Speaker 1: and I have never cheated on my wife. Right after
- 54:57Speaker 1: I found out about the second affair, her god worse
- 55:01Speaker 1: and she had to stop working altogether. So I am
- 55:04Speaker 1: stuck because she has no source of income and she's
- 55:07Speaker 1: still on my health insurance. I don't want to be
- 55:10Speaker 1: with this woman at all, but I know what it
- 55:12Speaker 1: would look like if I left her. Now. We have
- 55:15Speaker 1: a son and a daughter, and they are old enough
- 55:17Speaker 1: to understand. But if I leave her, they are going
- 55:20Speaker 1: with me, and that will devastate my wife. I have
- 55:24Speaker 1: told her repeatedly that I am not happy, and she
- 55:27Speaker 1: refuses to let me go. She thinks I should forgive
- 55:30Speaker 1: her past affairs and honor my wedding vows by taking
- 55:34Speaker 1: care of her. As soon as she feels better, she
- 55:37Speaker 1: might have another affair and I should not have to
- 55:40Speaker 1: keep dealing with this. What do you think am I
- 55:42Speaker 1: thinking selfishly for wanting to leave this unfaithful marriage? Please help?
- 55:48Speaker 1: Wow is a lot. This is a lot for any
- 55:55Speaker 1: human being after sixteen years of marriage. I mean, I
- 55:59Speaker 1: really have to say that. You ask the question, are
- 56:03Speaker 1: you are you thinking selfishly for wanting to leave this
- 56:06Speaker 1: unfaithful marriash No? Absolutely not um. And if you are,
- 56:12Speaker 1: it's okay in this instance, because look what this woman
- 56:15Speaker 1: has put you through. I would say you're a very
- 56:17Speaker 1: good You're a kind man, you're a considerate man, you're
- 56:21Speaker 1: a loving man. And you yes, you are honoring your vows,
- 56:25Speaker 1: you know. And that's the thing. You do have a
- 56:29Speaker 1: decision to make, because you could walk off and leave
- 56:32Speaker 1: this woman and take your kids. A lot of people
- 56:35Speaker 1: would think that's what she deserves. But I don't think
- 56:38Speaker 1: that's what's in your heart. I think you're better than that.
- 56:42Speaker 1: I really do after all that she's done. And let
- 56:46Speaker 1: me let me tell you this, it is a rare
- 56:48Speaker 1: occasion when a man takes a woman back and still
- 56:52Speaker 1: calls her his wife after she's cheated on him. Women
- 56:55Speaker 1: do it all the time, or they do it a
- 56:57Speaker 1: lot and way more than men. But men definitely don't
- 57:02Speaker 1: do this a lot. The problem is your wife is sick.
- 57:07Speaker 1: That's the problem. And the vows do say in sickness
- 57:10Speaker 1: and in health. But where was this illness when she
- 57:14Speaker 1: was cheating? Well, I don't understand she cheated and then
- 57:18Speaker 1: she you found out she was sick. I mean, what
- 57:21Speaker 1: a mess you're in. I just have to say, by
- 57:24Speaker 1: the grace of God that you can get through this.
- 57:27Speaker 1: Your wife will get better and eventually you will be
- 57:30Speaker 1: able to divorce her and move on to a better life.
- 57:35Speaker 1: But this is no way to live. You know, you
- 57:38Speaker 1: can still look after your wife and take care of her,
- 57:42Speaker 1: and she could still be on your your health insurance
- 57:45Speaker 1: while she's going through this illness, but you don't have
- 57:48Speaker 1: to stay there and take this. And you say your
- 57:51Speaker 1: children are old enough. I have to give you credit
- 57:54Speaker 1: for that too, because you're staying with her. You know
- 57:57Speaker 1: what it looks like you know, you're the kids to
- 58:00Speaker 1: go with you. According to you, this is a mess.
- 58:02Speaker 1: Your wife is all the way wrong. I'm sorry that
- 58:05Speaker 1: she's ill, I really am, but I do thank god
- 58:08Speaker 1: that she has health insurance and she has a good
- 58:10Speaker 1: man like you. But you don't have to stay there
- 58:13Speaker 1: and deal with this. There's a way you can do
- 58:16Speaker 1: this and still take care of her. She's still in
- 58:18Speaker 1: your house and your health insurance. Say yeah, this is
- 58:23Speaker 1: a mess. This, this is horrible, this is really bad. Yeah.
- 58:27Speaker 1: He doesn't say she's near death. He just says she's
- 58:30Speaker 1: really really sick. But I mean the nerve of her though, Yeah,
- 58:33Speaker 1: the nerve You got this good man and you're he's
- 58:35Speaker 1: taking care of you while you're saying the gall yeah,
- 58:39Speaker 1: the unmitigated gal. Yeah, yeah, this is crazy with it
- 58:52Speaker 1: all right? Yeah? You what you need to do. We
- 58:56Speaker 1: don't have his name, we don't even know what he needs,
- 59:00Speaker 1: Rob Robert. You need to get out before she gets well,
- 59:03Speaker 1: because look at the tail she's giving away, thick. Look
- 59:09Speaker 1: at what she's doing sick. This is sick tail that
- 59:13Speaker 1: she just constantly giving it away, and you don't want
- 59:18Speaker 1: her to get healthy and really distribute that thing. No,
- 59:24Speaker 1: what you need to do is leave her sick ass
- 59:27Speaker 1: right now before she gets fully well, I mean completely
- 59:33Speaker 1: what she's doing the sick tail away like she ain't
- 59:40Speaker 1: that damn sick first of all? Is she gonna drag
- 59:43Speaker 1: out sickness for a long damn time? Oh yeah, and
- 59:46Speaker 1: make him feel guilty about staying there taking care of her.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Leave I to leave her sick and when she gets well,
- 59:57Speaker 1: get well, my man. They all right, Look, we're gonna
- 1:00:05Speaker 1: hear from Junior and Tommy when we come back at
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: twenty three after the hour. Today's subject my vows are
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: weighing heavy on me, and they should because vowers are
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: serious and God takes vows serious. So we'll we'll have
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: part two of this Strawberry letter coming up right after this.
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: You're listening to show. All right, guys, let's recap today's
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: Strawberry letter. The subject my vows are weighing heavy on me?
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: A man wrote in he and his wife have been
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: married for sixteen years. Sixteen years. They were going to
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: get a divorce six years ago, but they found out
- 1:00:40Speaker 1: that his wife was really sick. They were going to
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: get a divorce because he found out that his wife
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: had cheated on him. So then when she got sick,
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: he decided to stay and help her out because she
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: couldn't work full time and he had to help her financially.
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: He worked extra hours at a job he didn't like.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: I mean, where is this man there? I mean, this
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: is as a good unselfish man, and he wants to
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: know is he selfish? So anyway, he nursed her kind
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: of back to health and everything. Then she got well
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: and had another affair with a new guy at her job,
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: so and then her health got worse. She had to
- 1:01:15Speaker 1: stop working altogether. So now he feels like he's stuck
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: because she has no source of income and she's still
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: on his health insurance. He doesn't want to be with
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: this woman. Uh he knows if he leaves her right
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: now while she's down, what it'll look like. And they
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: and they have two kids, a boy and a girl
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: who would go with him? So his question is is
- 1:01:37Speaker 1: he thinking selfishly for wanting to leave this unfaithful marriage?
- 1:01:41Speaker 1: And absolutely no, he's not selfish. So that's that's the
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: recap of the letter, Junior. What do you say? What
- 1:01:47Speaker 1: did Jay say? Jay? And let me tell you something,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: what a better two people? To respond to show we
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: all ready No. If Jane Turtley was sick, ass, then
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: you should leave. But here's another option that I would
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: like to present to you. First problem you as your
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: ass is too healthy. Get your ass sick and confronting.
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: So you got too much stress? You know you got

- 1:04:33Speaker 1: What you gonna do? Call it cheat on me? And
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: then I'm trying to help you back back. I'm not

- 1:06:31Speaker 1: to mister Jay Anthony Brown. You may have heard of him,
- 1:06:34Speaker 1: about his battle with leukemia and how he stays in
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: such good spirits. You don't want to miss this. We'll
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: be back right after this. Jay is motivation you're listening
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: to show. All right, guys, today is Motivational Monday. And
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: for those of you who don't know, our very own
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: Jay Anthony Brown, has cancer and he's battling leukemia. We've
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: all been in prayer for healing for you, Jay, of course,
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: because we love you and we know you can beat this.
- 1:07:09Speaker 1: M but you gotta tell us about your progress and
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: how do you stay. This is why you're my hero now,
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: because you stay in such good spirits. You really do well.
- 1:07:19Speaker 1: I think one of the things when I was first
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: told that I had lukemia about the doctor. The doctor
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: told me this. He said you gotta He didn't even
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: know I was a comedian. He said, you gotta find
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: a way to laugh at the situation and to stay
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: in a funny mode, to try to bring things that
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: are in your life that will make you laugh, that
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: would cheer you up. And that's one of the ways
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: to beat Oh, he didn't know who he was talking.
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: He had no idea. I mean, to anybody who has
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: leukemia and this is just me, that's some days when
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: you just go, this is a tough day, but I'm
- 1:07:49Speaker 1: gonna get through this. But for the most part, man,
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: I got this. I really got this. I mean, I'm
- 1:07:55Speaker 1: not afraid. I'm not scared of dying. I know I'm
- 1:07:58Speaker 1: gonna kick cancer, Indie. And why why is that? Why?
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: Why is that just it's just the way I feel.
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: It's just the way I feel. And not only that,
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: because of the type of leukemia that I have had.
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: This been twenty years ago, I wouldn't be here. Oh yeah,
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: my grandfather died ukemia. Now that's another thing that people
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: people that they they're sharing me, they come up because
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: I hear a lot. You know, my grandfather had did
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: he make it? No? He died just saying no, this
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: that's why you're my hero, Jay, because of your attitude.
- 1:08:41Speaker 1: Because yeah, seriously, well there's so many people that I
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: have to thank, you know, from his family members and
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: friends and you know you mean, I mean people on
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: the street who listen to the show and they'll just
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: walk up and say, you know, we're praying for you,
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: and that that's just that's that lifts your spirit. That's
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: what Alex Trebek said. He said, the people that have
- 1:08:59Speaker 1: exped resting prayers for him and condolences and all of that,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: that's what gives him strength a lot of times when
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: he feels down. But you know what, let me say this, Jake,
- 1:09:09Speaker 1: your attitude, that's it. Your attitude and on how you
- 1:09:13Speaker 1: have addressed this whole thickness man, is is something that
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: we all need to watch and listen and adhere to
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: because you have taken a whole new precedent. Man. Yeah,
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: the way you've taken this is I would have I
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: would have never thought you would have taken it this way.
- 1:09:29Speaker 1: And you make us feel like you know what he's
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: been to beat this. Yeah, I've never seen this, I'm
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: but I've never seen someone handle it like you. And
- 1:09:44Speaker 1: it really has touched my heart. I mean seriously, you
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: make me laugh. All right, Jay, So hang on, we
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: have more with you. Yeah, we'll bring Jay back. This
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: is motivational Monday. We'll talk about it when we come
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: back at the top of the hour. Right after this.
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, We're back with the one and
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: only Jay Anthony Brown, who has been still open and
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: uh about sharing what he's going through with us. He
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: has leukemia. Yes, that is a form of cancer of
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: the blood, of the blood and the bone marrow in
- 1:10:19Speaker 1: the back. And it was I think the busy biggest
- 1:10:21Speaker 1: decision I had to make for me was the fact
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: that I was going to share it with people. Yeah.
- 1:10:26Speaker 1: I was gonna just try to keep it to myself,
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: but then people would see me losing weight and when
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: your mustache drop off, something something going on. I started
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: that real private. Jay. Yeah, So it was I thought
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: maybe sharing it would help other people deal with it,
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: and it has. And when I go to the leukemia
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: center where I actually get treatment, it is so Jay,
- 1:10:49Speaker 1: let me ask you this, though, what is a day
- 1:10:51Speaker 1: like like like a chemo day? What is that? What happened?
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: A chemo day is like this. You get up, you
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: go into the room where you're in the room. Before
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: you walk in, it is surrounded by a lot of
- 1:11:01Speaker 1: people who are sick. Not only are these people sick,
- 1:11:04Speaker 1: there's sick people who are bringing sick people. So you know,
- 1:11:07Speaker 1: you have family members who are bringing somebody who's sick,
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: and then you have to go into your room and
- 1:11:11Speaker 1: get your your chemo. Once you get into that room
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: and you're separated and maybe you have one person, it's
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: it's a whole different feeling. But when you walk into
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: that room, the whole entire room, you just have a
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: feeling that everybody has something. So when I walk in,
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: I make it my thing to speak to everybody as
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: loud as I can. You know, that's just something I
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: do to speak to people because it's just you could.
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: When you walk into you you can see the like,
- 1:11:37Speaker 1: good morning, everybody, how y'all doing? You know, and people uh,
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: and normally they perk up and they speak back. But
- 1:11:44Speaker 1: once you get past the lobby where it's surrounded by
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: people who are sick, and you get into your room,
- 1:11:50Speaker 1: it's a whole different feeling because you know you're gonna
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: get help. And I got prayer warriors out there. Yeah,
- 1:11:55Speaker 1: I met the whole time read my sister, you know,
- 1:11:58Speaker 1: my my son, and my nephew. I really have to
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: do a shout out for my nephew who lived with me,
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: who's been very very helpful. I mean not more helpful
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: than anybody else, but him living with me has been,
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: you know, an inspiration. Tell me to make sure you
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: take your medicine, make sure you get an exercise, make
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: sure you eat right. And this is something I never
- 1:12:15Speaker 1: would think that this boy would have done because that's
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: my sister's oldest but I am his favorite uncle. The
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: other thing about Keima, you can use it to your
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: advantage really, Yeah, Like when you don't want to do something,
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: you know, I got keemo, I got leukemia. I hang
- 1:12:36Speaker 1: up for it today, gone going on with all of that,
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: you know how to seal it with dad? Or how
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: many how many hours are you in there? Well, leukemia
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: treatment if you're actually taking leukemia, can be by six
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: to seven hours really because they you know, they want
- 1:12:54Speaker 1: the drops to going slowly, and then they'll after you
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: take the leukemia for a week, then you take another
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: four or five weeks cleaning your system out with a
- 1:13:02Speaker 1: saline solution. So you do like five weeks of that
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: and then you start back to chemo. So it's gonna
- 1:13:07Speaker 1: be probably a year to deal with this, you know,
- 1:13:10Speaker 1: And I haven't. There's been one day when I was
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: just really really sick. Are you in any pain or anything? No? No, no, no,
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: only if I make it up, because we don't see
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: any difference. That's the other thing. People say, you don't
- 1:13:25Speaker 1: look sick. And if you go to the treatment center
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: where a lot of people are getting treated, a lot
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: of these people just look like regular ordinary people. I'm not.
- 1:13:33Speaker 1: And cancer don't care. Its young white. It goes across
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: the board. Man. Yeah, but it's your spirit, man, your spirits.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: It's incredible, bro, what you're dealing with, how you're handling it.
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: Your spirit tells it all. Jay. If you can tell
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: people that are going through this, give them something to
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: go on today, so they can maybe take a page
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: out of your playbook with I just in your spirit.
- 1:14:01Speaker 1: I just found out another fan of mine has cancer,
- 1:14:03Speaker 1: and I called her daily and I told her her
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: attitude towards what she has means a lot. And everybody
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: who has cancer, who've either who've either beaten it or
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: dealing with it, they will all say the same thing.
- 1:14:17Speaker 1: You can't be. You can say that you can't be
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: no punk towards cancer. You just can't. You gotta fight,
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: have to fight it and worry. Wow, alright, most I
- 1:14:26Speaker 1: have a smoke on the damn show. We're still praying
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: for you and know just dealing with We know you're
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: gonna be fine. I know you are, and we thank
- 1:14:37Speaker 1: God for you and for for sharing that with us,
- 1:14:40Speaker 1: you know, all right, Marvel Steve Harvey Morning Show coming
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: up at twenty minutes after the hour, right after this,
- 1:14:47Speaker 1: you're listening. All right, guys, Time now for the weekend
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: box office report, and I can tell you we're doing
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: the top five movies. I can tell you right now
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: that Jay and Tony Brown has seen every single one
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: of these, maybe even twice. Yes, I love movies too,
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: but you more than anybody. Yeah, more than anybody. Okay.
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: Coming in at number five, it was John Wick three
- 1:15:13Speaker 1: The Parabellum, very good. I love that. I love that movie.
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: Number four Ma with Octavia s Mom was good. I
- 1:15:20Speaker 1: really did. It was good. It was it was kind
- 1:15:22Speaker 1: of funny and had a lot of funny parts in it,
- 1:15:24Speaker 1: but you know, it was good. I like it was
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: not scary it's kind of scary because she kind of
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: goes over the edge. But you know, white kids learn
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: not to mess with a black woman who say come
- 1:15:33Speaker 1: have a party and party like rock star stars. Yeah,
- 1:15:39Speaker 1: white kids learned, all right. Number three Rocket Man Elton
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: Oh my god, I think it's better than. To me,
- 1:15:46Speaker 1: it's better than And I'll tell you why, because we're
- 1:15:49Speaker 1: more familiar with Elton john songs than we are with
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: Queen songs. Okay, and that's one of the things that
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: really made that movie. Okay, Aladdin with Will Smith coming
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: in at number two for the two point three millions great. Yeah.
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: You know when it first came out and people were
- 1:16:06Speaker 1: critical of the fact that he was so big and
- 1:16:08Speaker 1: so blue. Yeah, Will is a triple thread. He can sing, dance,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: and act in this movie kind of shows all the
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: Yeah in this movie. Number one movie over the weekend, Godzilla,
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: King of the Monster. His mama did a great job
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: in this movie. What do you mean he's got zout?
- 1:16:28Speaker 1: More of the Steve Harvey Morry Show, This ignorant show.
- 1:16:31Speaker 1: We'll be back right after this. Hello, you're listening to
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: show some sad news out of New Orleans. Time. Miss
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: Leah Chase New Orleans, matriarch of Creole cuisine who fed
- 1:16:45Speaker 1: civil rights leaders, musicians and presidents. Well, sad to say
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: that she has passed away. Miss Chase, the executive chef
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: and co owner of famous Dukey Chase's Restaurant. This restaurant
- 1:16:57Speaker 1: was a hub for meeting places for organizers of the
- 1:17:00Speaker 1: civil rights movement back in the day. Miss Chase was
- 1:17:03Speaker 1: ninety six years old. Ninety six years old. Yeah, condolences
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: from the morning, Yeah, Dukeye Chase Restaurant. Yeah, her legacy,
- 1:17:16Speaker 1: Miss Chase to that city. Inspirational, iconic. You just can't
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: even put into words what Miss Lea Chase meant to
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: the city of New Orleans. This restaurant. She wanted to
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: make sure that when the freedom fighters and when they
- 1:17:30Speaker 1: came there, they had a place to eat. And she
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: feeds the people involved in a civil rights movement. Just iconic,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: historic restaurant and Miss Leah Chase was just a legend
- 1:17:41Speaker 1: to the city of New Orleans. And our condolences, just
- 1:17:44Speaker 1: like you said, Shirley, going out to the Chase family
- 1:17:47Speaker 1: in the city of New Orleans. Yeah. And another entertainment news,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: this past Saturday night was the third annual Wearable Art Gala.
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: The theme of this year's event was a Journey to
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: the Pride Lands. It was inspired by the upcoming Live
- 1:18:01Speaker 1: Action Disney remake. The event was thrown by Where Art

- 1:18:10Speaker 1: by Miss Tina Knowles, that's Beyonce's mom and her stepfather,
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: Richard Lawson. The gala was over the top and it
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: was star studded. Beyonce held court in this stunning lion
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: and gold themed outfit she brought. She brought her daughter
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: to Blue Ivy to the event, and other stars included
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: Kelly Williams, of course, Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, Tyler Perry
- 1:18:33Speaker 1: uh and of course Stephen Marjorie were there. Yes, yes, yes, yeah,
- 1:18:40Speaker 1: Maxwell performed. I would definitely be their next year. I
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: don't know how I missed that. I love stuff like that. Yeah,
- 1:18:45Speaker 1: funk stuff, right, and you get to where, you know,
- 1:18:48Speaker 1: like really exciting costumes and stuff, you know, over the top,
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: over the top, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yeah. I'm
- 1:18:55Speaker 1: thinking like Mett Kaylin, what would you wear tom overtime?
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: Oh I'm going to come with that thing that John
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: Snowhead on that that that big bad jacket. I'm going
- 1:19:07Speaker 1: to come with that. I don't see that for you, Tommy,
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: I don't see that. I really think I'm Game of Thrones.
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: I see you with it on. Come on, Tammy with
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: the bad claws and everything. Thank you Jay Jay and
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: the zipper up the front. And if you ain't had
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: a bad zipp up, then you ain't really leave man
- 1:19:31Speaker 1: and patch pockets on the on the cold or something
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: in a hood. Yeah yeah, and that's from my dog
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: and really don't do pockets. And coming up, last break
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: of the day, and Steve Harvey left us with some
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: closing remarks at forty nine after the hour. Right after this,
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: you're listening Steve Morning Show. All right, here we are
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: at the final break of the day with us one
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: more thing. Steve's closing remarks, what do you have for us? Say?
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: What do you have for us today? Sir? Your wisdom
- 1:20:07Speaker 1: drop it? Okay? Today, I thought i'd talked to you
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: about something with a little bit different angle to it.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: It's gonna be positive, but I want to talk to
- 1:20:22Speaker 1: you about something that many people consider negative. I want
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: to talk to you today about disappointment. I think that
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: we all have to grapple with disappointment from time to time.
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: The problem with disappointment, disappointment can turn so ugly so fast.
- 1:20:44Speaker 1: Too many people allow disappointment to turn into resentment. Too
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: many people allow disappointment to turn into a final verdict,
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: so to speak. In other words, you know, so many
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: people think that this disappointment for them symbolizes the end.
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: When you allow for disappointment to turn into resentment, and
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: you allow disappointment to turn into the final verdict, you're
- 1:21:18Speaker 1: losing what disappointment actually can become for you. And I
- 1:21:24Speaker 1: want you all to start looking at disappointment as motivation.
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: How many times have you been faced with something that
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: was disappointing. Let's say you go in to get a
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: job and you own your last interview. And I have
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: been in this position. Man. I was trying to get
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: an insurance job one time years ago, and I went
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: in and I had gotten gone through about three or
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: four interviews. I was at my final interview and I said, man,
- 1:21:50Speaker 1: I'm about to get this job. Man, get my little
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: family together. I'll be all right. And got to that
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: interview and they told me no. And the reason they
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: gave me for not behind me was I had moved
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: too many times over the past seven years, and that
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: represented it to their company a sign of unstableness. That
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: disappointment for me was gut wrenching. I actually got in
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: my car, my little seventy two Chevy, and I was
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: driving off Man and tears was in my eyes when
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: I got up on the freeway and I drove back
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: and I looked back over at that big building with
- 1:22:28Speaker 1: that big powerful name on it, and I had gone
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: through four interviews and I and all of a sudden,
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I was so disappointed in not getting hired. But you
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: know what I learned to do though, From that moment on,
- 1:22:40Speaker 1: I turned all my disappointment into motivation. I said, Okay,
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: now this might not be right for everybody, but I
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: use it as a challenge. I use all my disappointments
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: as okay, I'll show you. I use them all this motivation.
- 1:22:59Speaker 1: From the time teacher told me that you ain't gonna
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: never be nothing, that there's no way they'll put somebody
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: like you on TV because you have a stuttering problem
- 1:23:09Speaker 1: and you can't even talk, I said, okay, but who
- 1:23:14Speaker 1: are you who is issuing out this disappointment because you're
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: not gonna make me resent you, and you're not gonna
- 1:23:21Speaker 1: cause me to think that you're denying me this opportunity.
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: Are you handing me this bad news of disappointment. I'm
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: not going to allow you to be my final verdict.
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: You will not be the truth teller in my life.
- 1:23:39Speaker 1: You are not going to be the person who is
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: the author of my destiny. You are not it that
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: belongs to God, not you, and I will not give
- 1:23:51Speaker 1: that to anyone. So when you're facing disappointment, do not
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: hand that disappointment over to the person who gave it
- 1:23:59Speaker 1: to you in the form of empowerment. Do not allow
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: them to control your destiny with this one piece of
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: disappointment that causes you to go into such resentment that
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: you become bitter that all of a sudden, now all
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: you think about is that, and you be getting you
- 1:24:18Speaker 1: developed this nasty attitude. You don't have to do that,
- 1:24:21Speaker 1: and you also don't have to let them become the
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: final verdict. They are not the author of your destiny.
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: They are not the author of your future. They are
- 1:24:31Speaker 1: not that belongs to God and only God. Don't let
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: them trip you up. And I'm saying this because I've
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: had many, many, many disappointments. You ain't this. You ain't that.
- 1:24:43Speaker 1: I've had shows canceled, gigs taken, I've been fired from radio,
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: I've been all of at all. I've had some disappointing setbacks.
- 1:24:52Speaker 1: But let me tell you something I've learned to do.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: I've learned to take all those setbacks and use them
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: as motivation. And I just quietly say to myself, you
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: ain't my God. You ain't the author of my destiny.
- 1:25:08Speaker 1: You didn't create me, You don't know me, You have
- 1:25:13Speaker 1: no say so in the real outcome of who I'm
- 1:25:16Speaker 1: going to be and what I'm going to turn myself into.
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: You who think you have the power by telling me no,
- 1:25:24Speaker 1: by refusing me, by voting against me, by saying that
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: I'm not the right one for the part, by telling
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: me that I represent an unstable person, by telling me
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: that I don't have what it takes. No, no, no, no,
- 1:25:38Speaker 1: no no. It's just because you don't know, because you
- 1:25:43Speaker 1: don't know what God really has for me, And that
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: ain't your fault. So why bear resentment for these people
- 1:25:50Speaker 1: who are causing this disappointment in your life? You don't
- 1:25:53Speaker 1: have to do that because they are not the author
- 1:25:58Speaker 1: of your destiny, and don't you Dad give them that.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: You take that disappointment and you use it as the motivation.
- 1:26:06Speaker 1: I feel sorry for people who tell me no, because
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: you know what, I know. I know they just don't
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: know what God has for me. And I end up
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: somehow through God's grace and mercy showing them all. Keep
- 1:26:18Speaker 1: it right attitude, y'all. God got something for you through
- 1:26:21Speaker 1: all your disappointment. Y'all have them for all. Steve Every
