- 0:20Speaker 1: like the milking buck things in the cubbing me true
- 0:25Speaker 1: good it Steve hastening to the movie together for Steve Clesey,
- 0:43Speaker 1: I don't join join me? You doing me? Honey. You
- 1:04Speaker 1: gotta turning to you gotta turn to turn them out.
- 1:47Speaker 1: Turn you got to turn them out. Then turn the
- 1:52Speaker 1: water the water go. Come come on, huh, I show
- 2:07Speaker 1: will a good morning everybody, y'all listening to the voice,
- 2:11Speaker 1: Come on, dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey
- 2:14Speaker 1: Man got a radio show. How good is God? Hum?
- 2:17Speaker 1: Think about it? Just take a slight inventory of your
- 2:20Speaker 1: own life and say it to yourself when you get through,
- 2:22Speaker 1: how good is God? Think of all the small things,
- 2:26Speaker 1: all this because that's him. You breathing, that's him. You
- 2:30Speaker 1: still him. That's him. You got another chance, that's him.
- 2:35Speaker 1: You ain't out of him. That's him. You got any
- 2:38Speaker 1: measure of health, that's him. You think it's more to
- 2:41Speaker 1: it than it really is, that it already showed up
- 2:44Speaker 1: to be. That's him. All of that. You got any
- 2:47Speaker 1: dreams of aspirations, you dream of other things. That's him
- 2:51Speaker 1: all that, that's him. That's him him close you got,
- 2:54Speaker 1: that's him every time you eat. That's why they had
- 2:57Speaker 1: this thing called you say your grace. That's him. That's him, man,
- 3:01Speaker 1: that's him. It's amazing when you take a small inventory
- 3:04Speaker 1: how you find out how big God really is in
- 3:07Speaker 1: your life. Now, the more you turn yourself over to him,
- 3:10Speaker 1: the bigger he can be. For you. See, he'll only
- 3:12Speaker 1: be as big as you let him. It's one thing
- 3:15Speaker 1: about God. Now, he's a gentleman. He can make you
- 3:18Speaker 1: do anything. You know, you get too big for him,
- 3:23Speaker 1: you know you you you, you lose your humbleness. He
- 3:26Speaker 1: can humble you. Now. God created man with the power
- 3:32Speaker 1: of choice. We're the only creature he created that. He
- 3:36Speaker 1: gave us the total power of choice. When we mate,
- 3:39Speaker 1: who we mate with. You know everything, all of it. Man.
- 3:44Speaker 1: It's the choice what we want to be, how much
- 3:46Speaker 1: we want to make, where we want to live, what
- 3:48Speaker 1: climate we want to live in. We can live in
- 3:50Speaker 1: cold climates, high climates. You know, we speak different languages.
- 3:54Speaker 1: You can go learn another language. A bear can't do
- 3:59Speaker 1: nothing but be a bail He can't go learn how
- 4:03Speaker 1: to be a fox. He can't go learn how to
- 4:06Speaker 1: be an otter. He just can't. An ostrich is an
- 4:09Speaker 1: ostrich man. He can't come out of here and fight
- 4:12Speaker 1: like a lion. A lion is a lion. A lion
- 4:15Speaker 1: eat meat. He can't eat vegetables. I don't care how
- 4:18Speaker 1: much meat ain't around. He'll lay down and pull up
- 4:21Speaker 1: out of here and die because he can't eat grass.
- 4:24Speaker 1: He just a lion man. You understand this that God
- 4:28Speaker 1: gave us. We are the one creature he created that
- 4:32Speaker 1: has total power of choice. You can make every decision
- 4:35Speaker 1: in your life. What kind of watch you like? That's
- 4:38Speaker 1: the one you can buy. You want to live in Switzerland,
- 4:42Speaker 1: go ahead. You don't like Switzerland, you can move to Miami.
- 4:47Speaker 1: You want to live your life a crime, go ahead.
- 4:50Speaker 1: That's you. He gave you the power of choice. You
- 4:53Speaker 1: want to do right? Come on, So now look at
- 4:57Speaker 1: this thing. We are all the results of a series
- 5:04Speaker 1: of decisions that we have made. If we could just
- 5:09Speaker 1: identify that the problem is us, we could began the solution.
- 5:15Speaker 1: See that's the problem, y'all, it's us. It's what we do.
- 5:20Speaker 1: I threw my life down the hill. I can't tell
- 5:24Speaker 1: you how many years based on some decisions that I
- 5:27Speaker 1: was making. Now I can justify my decision with I
- 5:30Speaker 1: wasn't happy and I was doing this and I was
- 5:32Speaker 1: in misery, and y'all on that, ye yes to you
- 5:34Speaker 1: when you get through. You made the decisions though, and
- 5:38Speaker 1: you can look at this anywhere you want to, y'all.
- 5:40Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, I'm just talking
- 5:41Speaker 1: to people that's really really wanting to improve their position
- 5:45Speaker 1: in life. And how do you do that? You got
- 5:49Speaker 1: to have a solution. How do you come up with
- 5:52Speaker 1: a solution. You got to identify the problem to even
- 5:57Speaker 1: began to solve it. But if the problem ain't ever you,
- 6:03Speaker 1: how you gonna solve something that ain't you? See? Okay,
- 6:10Speaker 1: let me look at this one. If somebody said, like
- 6:14Speaker 1: I got a child of mine, man, I just do
- 6:16Speaker 1: right here. Man, I don't even wanna get into it
- 6:19Speaker 1: this morning, or I'm struggling with this this boy. But man,
- 6:23Speaker 1: you go to people, you're asking why they do so?
- 6:26Speaker 1: I just I just wasn't taking care of business. Why
- 6:30Speaker 1: I just didn't take care of business? Boy, do you
- 6:34Speaker 1: understand that your life is gonna be filled with you
- 6:36Speaker 1: got to take care of business? So when you're gonna start,
- 6:40Speaker 1: you know what I mean? You can't, you can't. You
- 6:43Speaker 1: can't go through life blaming everybody. It's got to be you. See,
- 6:47Speaker 1: you can fix you. You can't fix nobody else if
- 6:50Speaker 1: you keep getting married and the marriages don't work. Hello, Hello, Hello?
- 6:55Speaker 1: Could it be you? South? Finally had to sit down
- 6:59Speaker 1: and just make that decision. Ain don't need me coming
- 7:02Speaker 1: on the radio talking about nobody else and what they
- 7:04Speaker 1: did to me, and y'all just don't know, no, no, no, man,
- 7:07Speaker 1: what about the part you played at it? Because see,
- 7:10Speaker 1: if you got a good marriage, you got a part
- 7:12Speaker 1: to play in that. If you got a bad one,
- 7:14Speaker 1: you got a part to play in that. Even if
- 7:18Speaker 1: it just get down to you the one pick them,
- 7:20Speaker 1: how about that? Mister? Mister I made a decision. So
- 7:25Speaker 1: you know, man, once you cannot start identifying the problem,
- 7:28Speaker 1: you can get on with the solution. The problem is
- 7:31Speaker 1: usually within yourself. Do you know? That's the quickest, an
- 7:35Speaker 1: easy way to fix your life. Fix yourself that way,
- 7:39Speaker 1: you ain't got to check with nobody. Here's the beauty
- 7:41Speaker 1: of going on and admitting that is you. You don't
- 7:45Speaker 1: have to check or clear it with nobody to start
- 7:49Speaker 1: the repair process. You don't need anybody's permission. You ain't
- 7:53Speaker 1: got to put it before the review board to see
- 7:55Speaker 1: if it'll pass. It ain't got to go through Congress.
- 7:58Speaker 1: You ain't got to hope that you're or local politician
- 8:01Speaker 1: get their hands on it to make a phone call
- 8:03Speaker 1: for you. You ain't got to ask any counselors to
- 8:05Speaker 1: come in and sit with you. You don't have to
- 8:07Speaker 1: check it into rehab. All you got to do is
- 8:10Speaker 1: decide the problem is me, I'm gonna start changing me.
- 8:16Speaker 1: Identify the problem and start with the part that you
- 8:22Speaker 1: can own up to. Man, that's the deal, y'all it
- 8:32Speaker 1: really is, And see when you Once you identify the problem,
- 8:38Speaker 1: then all you got to do is start to plan it.
- 8:42Speaker 1: Once you identify the problem, you can start planning on
- 8:45Speaker 1: how to fix it or how to get to accomplishing something.
- 8:48Speaker 1: But remember this planning is important. If you fail to plan,
- 8:54Speaker 1: then please plan to fail. If you fail to plan,
- 9:00Speaker 1: then guess what. Please plan to fail. It cannot go
- 9:06Speaker 1: any other way. If you don't know how to make
- 9:09Speaker 1: a plan, Let's just start with the basics. Just make
- 9:13Speaker 1: a list of what you want. If you don't know
- 9:16Speaker 1: how to make a plan. I bet you know how
- 9:18Speaker 1: to make a list of things you want. Make this
- 9:22Speaker 1: list and then go to God in prayer with an
- 9:25Speaker 1: open mind and open your mind up to all the
- 9:31Speaker 1: clean opportunities that are available here. Why a lot of
- 9:35Speaker 1: people won't succeed because certain opportunities come along you don't
- 9:39Speaker 1: want to do them. That kills me. Man, when I
- 9:41Speaker 1: hear here, I ain't doing that. I know young comedians
- 9:44Speaker 1: that come to me all the time talking about man
- 9:46Speaker 1: with you not saying, Man, just take every gig you can,
- 9:49Speaker 1: no matter what they pay. Well, listen to me, son,
- 9:54Speaker 1: you can go make that money that they pay, or
- 9:57Speaker 1: you can make the decision to sit at home and
- 9:59Speaker 1: make no nobody it's a comedy, hard business. They ain't
- 10:04Speaker 1: paying but one hundred dollars. You got to drive, drive
- 10:06Speaker 1: fifty miles. But if you drive fifty miles and you
- 10:09Speaker 1: make a hundred and you stand on that stage for
- 10:12Speaker 1: thirty minutes, you are now thirty minutes better than you
- 10:15Speaker 1: was the last time you went on stage. Oh, Man,
- 10:19Speaker 1: you ain't man, they don't pay me, I ain't coming.
- 10:21Speaker 1: You ain't going to be a comedian, man, not not
- 10:24Speaker 1: not like this. Hell, A lot of people just don't
- 10:27Speaker 1: want to do what's necessary to do. So when the
- 10:30Speaker 1: opportunity presents itself and you open up your mind to it, man,
- 10:34Speaker 1: then get ready to go on and do it. Man.
- 10:37Speaker 1: You know so remember, come on, y'all, identify your problem today.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Identify your problem today, and start with the part of
- 10:48Speaker 1: it that's you you can fix you immediately identify your
- 10:55Speaker 1: problem today, start with the part you're listening and everybody,
- 11:06Speaker 1: it is Friday. You're listening to the baddest morning show
- 11:10Speaker 1: in the entire world, in the world, in the entire world.
- 11:15Speaker 1: You can look, you can search, but you ain't gonna
- 11:17Speaker 1: find none batter You know why this show is so
- 11:20Speaker 1: bad because the ingredients we put in it. We started
- 11:23Speaker 1: a little Sherla strawband. What up, Charley, I'll take a
- 11:26Speaker 1: cup of strawberries right here here, Good morning, Good morning,
- 11:31Speaker 1: and we're spriggling with a little Coli Farrow. What's up?
- 11:35Speaker 1: What was having it? A little chocolate? Chocolate go with
- 11:38Speaker 1: the strawberries? What's had? And that ain't it? That ain't it?
- 11:41Speaker 1: We put just a pitch of Junior up your nan
- 11:44Speaker 1: morning everybody, morning, and last from not least a whole
- 11:51Speaker 1: lot of food what's up, Tommy? Come on baby, two scoops?
- 11:54Speaker 1: Two cups, baby, two cups are stupid? And then what
- 11:58Speaker 1: it dude? What it do? Here's everybody here, everybody present,
- 12:01Speaker 1: everybody we're here. Yeah, it's Friday. You Oh my god.
- 12:07Speaker 1: There's a pride on how to say this. But having
- 12:09Speaker 1: Trump in the White House makes the week longer, don't it? Oh?
- 12:16Speaker 1: Every day is something, though, every day, every day is something. Man.
- 12:22Speaker 1: My mother say every day it's na who now what
- 12:31Speaker 1: is he doing? Nah? I want to do? He wake up?
- 12:34Speaker 1: Just say, man, the skin is started messing up. He
- 12:40Speaker 1: wakes up and go what can I mess up today?
- 12:44Speaker 1: You know when you wake up doing? He go, he
- 12:45Speaker 1: wake up to the window. We're gonna get this wall?
- 12:53Speaker 1: Oh man, Yeah, he want that wall. Man. But he's
- 12:56Speaker 1: the only one though. Yeah, he don't want to want
- 12:59Speaker 1: the wall. Has he bothered to listen to the American people? No, no, no,
- 13:04Speaker 1: or go back to work, or and the government shut down?
- 13:08Speaker 1: Come on now, no, this is what he wants. And
- 13:13Speaker 1: he says he is not backing down. Anybody that would
- 13:17Speaker 1: offer the national football team sage Hamburgers and saga Fried
- 13:22Speaker 1: is not a good person. Man. If you're gonna give
- 13:24Speaker 1: us a happy meal. At least had a toy in that,
- 13:27Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, and put least get me
- 13:29Speaker 1: the toy out happen and he put it on the shutdown. Yeah, yeah,
- 13:35Speaker 1: this is what we have to do. Well, you shut
- 13:38Speaker 1: it down, shut it down, and it looks like you
- 13:42Speaker 1: ain't well, it does look like he eating good. He
- 13:44Speaker 1: does look like eating good though, it really does. He's
- 13:46Speaker 1: eating good. Yeah. I think his wife shut him down
- 13:50Speaker 1: a long time ago. He's been going that shut down. Yeah,
- 13:52Speaker 1: she's back. Yeah, she riding. It's awesome. Smile. But have
- 14:00Speaker 1: they been holding hand? Yeah? They're good. They're good. They
- 14:04Speaker 1: have nowhere no no body. Language is good. Yeah, she's
- 14:12Speaker 1: back on board. You gotta yeah before she back, go
- 14:20Speaker 1: back to where you come from. So what you gonna do?
- 14:23Speaker 1: Oh that's I guess the wall don't apply though. All right, listen, guys,
- 14:30Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about relationships. We have a question. Have
- 14:34Speaker 1: you ever called your ex after a date? That's that's
- 14:40Speaker 1: a thirty two after the hour right after this you're
- 14:46Speaker 1: listening to show. All right, you guys know actor wrestler
- 14:52Speaker 1: John Cena. Right, you guys know, well since John Cena
- 14:56Speaker 1: and Nikki Bella broke up last year. Remember they broke up. Well,
- 15:00Speaker 1: she's been trying to move on, you know, have different relationships,
- 15:04Speaker 1: date things like that. That, apparently, to Nikki, means debriefing
- 15:08Speaker 1: and telling John every single date she goes on. She says,
- 15:13Speaker 1: she lets him know everything. Yeah, she told people. Now
- 15:17Speaker 1: that he's known every date I've been on. I have
- 15:20Speaker 1: so much respect for him, and this breakup wasn't bad.
- 15:23Speaker 1: It didn't end badly. We don't do bad things to
- 15:25Speaker 1: each other. He's still close with my family. This arrangement
- 15:29Speaker 1: does not go both ways though. Check this out. John,
- 15:32Speaker 1: on the other hand, does not talk to Nikki about
- 15:34Speaker 1: his dates because, as she says, I do have the
- 15:38Speaker 1: jealous bone. At least she can admit it, right, all right,
- 15:42Speaker 1: So this is crazy. We broke up. I'm not telling
- 15:45Speaker 1: you nothing. We're done, Okay. I don't care who you date,
- 15:50Speaker 1: and I don't care if you care who I date.
- 15:53Speaker 1: We're done. Done, Yes, we're done. Yeah, once it's over,
- 15:57Speaker 1: we're done. I'm not calling you to telling you who
- 16:00Speaker 1: I'm dating. So you've never been friends with any of
- 16:03Speaker 1: your ex I'm not saying that. Yes, I've been friends
- 16:07Speaker 1: but I'm not. I'm not telling him who I date.
- 16:13Speaker 1: I'm friends with most of everyone, even my ex husband. Yeah,
- 16:18Speaker 1: we bring up. I'm gonna call you, but I'm gonna
- 16:21Speaker 1: be drunk, So no is in me? Hey is me?
- 16:30Speaker 1: That's your drunk voice. Don't act like you don't know
- 16:33Speaker 1: who the hell sounds? Men sitting outside your house? Where
- 16:39Speaker 1: you been? Are you been on a date? On a
- 16:43Speaker 1: date with man? One new man? You? Nobody? Isntbody else already? Yeah?
- 16:52Speaker 1: What's wrong with you right now? Why are you talking already?
- 16:55Speaker 1: It would just been a year that we broke up.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Back out there. You need to move off. I ain't
- 17:02Speaker 1: move on. Why get your life? You're the best thing
- 17:07Speaker 1: I ever We know. I tried to tell you that
- 17:11Speaker 1: when we were together. I get it now are you
- 17:17Speaker 1: trying to get it now? I will call it eggs
- 17:21Speaker 1: Bain't you will, specially about him if I've gone from
- 17:25Speaker 1: boyfriend and now side. I'm her side. But you see
- 17:29Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Yeah, because you never know. After her
- 17:32Speaker 1: date on my date, we probably need to see each other.
- 17:34Speaker 1: We probably need to have a little moment. You know,
- 17:36Speaker 1: it's am I the only one? Yes? Yeah, because we're
- 17:39Speaker 1: confused if you ain't boyfriend almost you can still be
- 17:42Speaker 1: side piece. Oh have you know dignity? Man? I mean
- 17:47Speaker 1: you just you just you feel like you know what
- 17:50Speaker 1: I'm like? That just mean you can't be shady? Yeah,
- 17:55Speaker 1: you know you know answer, I'm here if you need me.
- 17:58Speaker 1: You see what I'm saying. I like that new man.
- 18:02Speaker 1: At some point you don't disappoint you in something and
- 18:06Speaker 1: yeah he don't. Do you know what I'm good at?
- 18:12Speaker 1: I love that Jack. I love that he's gonna let
- 18:16Speaker 1: you down in something right up the pieces. Yeah. Yeah.
- 18:22Speaker 1: So in other words, you guys just don't care I'm
- 18:26Speaker 1: good at something. Just utilize what I'm good at. Maybe
- 18:31Speaker 1: that's why you broke up like I couldn't. I ain't
- 18:33Speaker 1: gonna bet on sad pace. They't they don't won't be
- 18:35Speaker 1: like that, you know, they won't talk like they don't
- 18:37Speaker 1: want me like that. But what I am is a
- 18:38Speaker 1: good listener, good junior. You know what I'm saying. Don't
- 18:43Speaker 1: call it. I can listen that this mean uh huh nah?
- 18:50Speaker 1: You like he said what you put the phone down said? What? Nah?
- 18:56Speaker 1: I like Junior, listen, If you listen along enough, you
- 19:02Speaker 1: could be a side you become a side. Just keep listening,
- 19:07Speaker 1: keep listening. You get promoted and you want me to
- 19:11Speaker 1: hold you? I know, did someone the whole means sex?
- 19:19Speaker 1: It just means yeah, exactly. That's the only reason you
- 19:23Speaker 1: guys are hanging around. That's the only reason. Yeah. But
- 19:28Speaker 1: you know that though. But okay, Junior, one more time,
- 19:30Speaker 1: how do you look? What do you say? What? No? No,
- 19:37Speaker 1: he didn't. I told you when I saw him, I knew,
- 19:41Speaker 1: I knew I wasn't gonna like that. Where y'all going next?
- 19:45Speaker 1: You're a good listener. I listened with h O couldn't
- 19:48Speaker 1: I turn it? Julie. Now you want to be held?
- 19:50Speaker 1: Do it? Junior? You want to become over Now I'm

- 20:19Speaker 1: you have a new man, you're still calling and interacting
- 20:22Speaker 1: with your about Just call right here? Did he leave yet?

- 20:33Speaker 1: yeah he got sound? Yeah he go yeah, he got.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I saw you with him. He don't look like a
- 20:39Speaker 1: fun person. You are smiling, and you know you like
- 20:45Speaker 1: to have what he mad at. I make you laugh. Yeah,
- 20:54Speaker 1: you take you to the top golf and you deserve
- 20:57Speaker 1: better if you threw that one out there. Hey, we

- 23:44Speaker 1: You don't remember me, Terrence, But I just wanted to
- 23:46Speaker 1: talk to you. Like I say, um, you know, I
- 23:48Speaker 1: got some things on that that's been bothered me for
- 23:50Speaker 1: a minute, and I you know, I just I just

- 24:14Speaker 1: I had, I've had your number. I just I just
- 24:16Speaker 1: I just had never reached out to you before. But
- 24:19Speaker 1: like I say, though, man, this this, this has been
- 24:20Speaker 1: bothering me for a minute, and I wanted to get
- 24:22Speaker 1: it off my chest so you and I can try to,
- 24:25Speaker 1: I guess fix this whole issue. But I just want
- 24:27Speaker 1: us to see if we can fix it. You know,
- 24:30Speaker 1: we'll fix the issue. What's the issue? I don't understand me.
- 24:33Speaker 1: I'm not following you. I don't understand what like, what
- 24:36Speaker 1: is the issue. So but now you know, like I said,
- 24:40Speaker 1: I went on to out talk to me, what's going on?
- 24:46Speaker 1: Your wife, man, is cheating on both of us, and
- 24:50Speaker 1: we gotta figure out how we gotta do something about this. Man,
- 24:54Speaker 1: all right? I mean, did you say she eating on

- 25:34Speaker 1: her going out with this, you know, going to lunch
- 25:36Speaker 1: with this other cat. So I'm like, I got pissed
- 25:39Speaker 1: off about it. So I said, you know what, I
- 25:41Speaker 1: can't take you no more. I'm calling Terence. You're saying
- 25:45Speaker 1: to me that my wife has been cheating around a
- 25:48Speaker 1: job with somebody else. She cheating on both of us. Dude,
- 25:52Speaker 1: I don't get what you mean if my wife has

- 27:03Speaker 1: with my wife too, that you've been messing around with
- 27:06Speaker 1: my wife. That's not That's not the part I'm trying
- 27:11Speaker 1: to talk about. I'm trying to talk about this dude
- 27:12Speaker 1: name Alan. Man, That's what I'm trying to get out.
- 27:15Speaker 1: I'm gonna get to Alan. We're gonna get to Alan.
- 27:18Speaker 1: You saying that my wife playing it's some crazy yo.
- 27:22Speaker 1: You know what, man, I'm about to put my foot

- 27:35Speaker 1: your beef ain't with me. The beef is with Alan. No,
- 27:40Speaker 1: she messing over. She messing over both of us with Alan, dalk.
- 27:44Speaker 1: I'm about to call her because some right here, I'm

- 30:17Speaker 1: Leaks apologizes to Nini, his wife right after this. You're listening.
- 30:26Speaker 1: Coming up in twenty minutes, guys, our friend, actress Regina King,
- 30:30Speaker 1: will be our special guest. She's going to tell us
- 30:32Speaker 1: about the movie If Beale Street Could Talk, but first
- 30:36Speaker 1: in Entertainment News. Yeah, that's real nice. Can't wait for that.
- 30:39Speaker 1: Gladys Night, we'll sing the national anthem before Super Bowl
- 30:43Speaker 1: fifty three. Now, at least they got somebody who's ki yes, yes, Yes.
- 30:50Speaker 1: The rock and Roll Hall of Famer that is Gladys
- 30:52Speaker 1: Night and seven time Grammy Award winner will at a
- 30:55Speaker 1: hometown connection when the Big Game has played February third
- 30:58Speaker 1: at Mercedes been Stadium in Atlanta. Gladys says she's proud
- 31:03Speaker 1: to use her voice to unite and represent our country
- 31:06Speaker 1: in her hometown of Atlanta. The NFL recently announced their
- 31:11Speaker 1: new social justice platform, Inspired Change, and she says she's
- 31:15Speaker 1: both honored to be a part of its inaugural year.
- 31:18Speaker 1: She's the latest in a parade of pop legends who
- 31:20Speaker 1: sung the anthem at previous Super Bowls that includes Scherer,
- 31:23Speaker 1: Ritha Franklin, Diana Ross and Whitney Houston, Tanska Dana Rossa,
- 31:29Speaker 1: Diana Ross. She did have time. So, Carlo, you have
- 31:32Speaker 1: some more entertainment news from the reality TV world. What's
- 31:35Speaker 1: going on with Greg Luke Greg Leeks. Well, you know what,
- 31:40Speaker 1: We know that Greg leaks, Shirley, Tommy Junior, and Jay.
- 31:44Speaker 1: He's in the fight for his life, you know. Yeah,
- 31:47Speaker 1: and we know that Nini, his wife, has been right
- 31:49Speaker 1: there by his side as the battle's stage three of
- 31:52Speaker 1: colon cancer. But there was something that happened between them.
- 31:56Speaker 1: We don't really know what went down between the two
- 31:59Speaker 1: of them, but it was bad enough that I guess
- 32:03Speaker 1: that Greg felt like he had to go to social
- 32:05Speaker 1: media to apologize to Nini. He posted this beautiful picture
- 32:08Speaker 1: of his wife and with the caption, we always hurt
- 32:11Speaker 1: the ones we love because they allow us to hurt
- 32:14Speaker 1: them rather than snap back. So he went on to
- 32:18Speaker 1: say that he's tired of hurting her because she deserves
- 32:20Speaker 1: more for her hard efforts and tireless hours spent on me.
- 32:26Speaker 1: And then Greg finished up the caption saying, I pray
- 32:29Speaker 1: to God to get it together. She's done no wrong.
- 32:32Speaker 1: This is all on me. Cancer will change your life.
- 32:35Speaker 1: So while Greg hasn't you know, specified what he's apologizing for,
- 32:41Speaker 1: another post kind of hinted that he's been mean to
- 32:44Speaker 1: the doctors and to his wife, and so he is
- 32:47Speaker 1: asked for forgiveness from his wife and from America. And
- 32:51Speaker 1: he had a hashtag that included hashtag never been here
- 32:55Speaker 1: before and hashtag I'm scared too. So that man, we
- 33:01Speaker 1: gotta pray for Greg. Yeah, prayer of healing for Greg
- 33:05Speaker 1: and yeah, yeah, cancer is an emotional disease. It's tough.
- 33:10Speaker 1: It's tough, but we're praying for the Leeks. And that's
- 33:13Speaker 1: big of him, everything he's going through. He comes back
- 33:17Speaker 1: and realizes that he's hurt his wife in some sort
- 33:20Speaker 1: of way, and it takes a big man to do that. Yeah, yes, yeah,
- 33:24Speaker 1: so big apologize publicly? Yeah, publicly? Wow, Because I didn't
- 33:29Speaker 1: know what was going on. I heard about it and
- 33:32Speaker 1: I said, what is this about? So I got some
- 33:34Speaker 1: information about it. So again, people can be very mean
- 33:36Speaker 1: and you have to forget. Yeah, yeah, you know, yeah,
- 33:40Speaker 1: and it's just a way to snap out, and they
- 33:42Speaker 1: snap out that the person that's there, you know, yes,
- 33:45Speaker 1: trying to help them. That is so true, Jay, I mean,
- 33:48Speaker 1: you know, it's a indication the pain and all of
- 33:52Speaker 1: that emotions that they're going through. So you're right, you're right.
- 33:55Speaker 1: But we're gonna pray for the Leek's family. Got this
- 33:57Speaker 1: great prayers of healings going up, hanging the great All right,
- 34:01Speaker 1: we're gonna switch gears now. In national news, guys, President
- 34:04Speaker 1: Trump has fired back at Outspeaker Nancy Pelosi a day
- 34:08Speaker 1: after she asked him to postpone the State of the
- 34:11Speaker 1: Union speech, citing the strain on security personnel during the
- 34:14Speaker 1: government shutdown. Trump has canceled a trip abroad that Pelosi
- 34:18Speaker 1: was scheduled to take on a military plane. In a
- 34:21Speaker 1: letter to Pelosi, Trump says, due to the shutdown, I
- 34:25Speaker 1: am sorry to inform you that your trip to Brussels, Egypt,
- 34:28Speaker 1: and Afghanistan has been postponed. We will reschedule this seven
- 34:33Speaker 1: day excursion when the shutdown is over. Uh yeah, tips attack,
- 34:38Speaker 1: come on, bet. Yeah, that's very pity. But in the
- 34:42Speaker 1: words of Humble from the movie, get off the plane.
- 34:46Speaker 1: But the letter also says that she's free to fly
- 34:49Speaker 1: commercial airlines. Wow. Yeah, just to show yeah and put
- 34:56Speaker 1: it on his tail. Yeah, yeah, yeah, the trip. Yeah,
- 34:59Speaker 1: because he's trying to just show her who's in charge. Yeah, yeah,
- 35:02Speaker 1: that's tip for Tad. It is. It definitely is. I
- 35:05Speaker 1: hope give the crest. Stay strong and don't break, man,
- 35:09Speaker 1: Just just stand there, don't cry. So you know what, Tommy,
- 35:13Speaker 1: I think if they do break, it's for the federal workers,
- 35:16Speaker 1: do you know what I mean? I think that they're hard. Yeah,
- 35:20Speaker 1: to try to find an inn or compromise for them,
- 35:23Speaker 1: because they're the ones that are suffering right now over
- 35:25Speaker 1: a wall. And if you do break, don't give him
- 35:28Speaker 1: the wall. Just great to get people back to work, exactly,
- 35:31Speaker 1: tell him you gonna give him the money for the wall,
- 35:33Speaker 1: and then don't give it to him. That's what ye
- 35:37Speaker 1: bill collectors that huh. Yeah, that whole doctor situation, he
- 35:42Speaker 1: did that. Yeah, he snipped a lot of people. Yeah,
- 35:44Speaker 1: well that's when they gave him the money and then
- 35:47Speaker 1: they attached the doctor bill to that and he turned
- 35:50Speaker 1: that down. Yeah he did. Wasn't it like stun Mitch
- 35:54Speaker 1: McConnell what that did? Yeah? Yeah, I don't know anything new. It.
- 35:57Speaker 1: Don't be bringing my name up in this man, you're
- 36:01Speaker 1: so crazy. One more time, I'm running do it, he said,
- 36:10Speaker 1: he undo it, all right, I'm trying to get Dad's
- 36:15Speaker 1: marvel about my mouth. That's how we sound. Yeah, so,
- 36:25Speaker 1: I mean, you know, it doesn't look like a lot
- 36:28Speaker 1: of things are going to get done until the government
- 36:31Speaker 1: gets back to work. That's what it looks like. Anyway.
- 36:33Speaker 1: I know what Trump is really doing. He is making
- 36:35Speaker 1: it so that we in our lifetime will never ever
- 36:39Speaker 1: forget Obama ever ever forget about or his legacy. Yeah,
- 36:46Speaker 1: his legacy, right, were missing? Whoa you better talk to? Yeah? Well, uh,
- 36:54Speaker 1: you know what it is. We just miss a real president,
- 36:57Speaker 1: a presidential president too. We miss that as well. Coming
- 37:00Speaker 1: up in twenty minutes after the hour, actress Regina King
- 37:03Speaker 1: will be our special guest. Right after this. You're listening
- 37:10Speaker 1: our special guests. Everybody is an award winning actress that
- 37:13Speaker 1: has too many blockbuster movies in television series to name.
- 37:18Speaker 1: I'm telling you, but today she's joining us to talk
- 37:21Speaker 1: about her newest project that's in theaters right now. I've
- 37:24Speaker 1: seen the clip. Shirley's actually seen the movie. Yeah, so
- 37:27Speaker 1: this is really good. Shirley came back Grant and rave
- 37:30Speaker 1: about it. It's called If Bill Street Could Talk and
- 37:35Speaker 1: it's projected to have a huge presence at this year's
- 37:38Speaker 1: Oscar's Award. So let's talk to the start of the movie. Please,
- 37:41Speaker 1: welcome to the show, everybody with her acting, Miss Regina King.
- 37:54Speaker 1: I still watch the seven. Wow. Congratulations. First of all,
- 38:04Speaker 1: we have to say Regina on winning the Golden Globes
- 38:08Speaker 1: and Critics Choice Award for Best Supporting Actress Man oh Man. Yeah,
- 38:13Speaker 1: pretty exciting, I'll say, uh yeah, you know what, I
- 38:19Speaker 1: have to be honest with you, Regina. When I first
- 38:21Speaker 1: heard the title of Beal Street to Talk, I thought
- 38:23Speaker 1: it was going to be about Bill Street in Memphis. Yeah.
- 38:27Speaker 1: Well yeah, I mean, you're not the only one. I
- 38:30Speaker 1: think when James Baldwin wrote the book was saying that
- 38:36Speaker 1: there's a Bill Street in every city. Yeah, you know,
- 38:39Speaker 1: because the movie takes place in Harlem, and the book
- 38:42Speaker 1: story actually takes place in Harlem. So there is a
- 38:46Speaker 1: version of a Bill Street in Harlem, Ma, in La
- 38:50Speaker 1: wherever you are, that's your version of a Bill Street. Yeah.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Your role in this movie it was just, I mean fantastic.
- 38:58Speaker 1: You played that loving mother, that mother that never gives up,
- 39:01Speaker 1: that believes in her children, that loves her husband, and
- 39:05Speaker 1: just just family and I love that about the movie.
- 39:08Speaker 1: And you won these awards. How does that make you feel, Regina? Well,
- 39:12Speaker 1: I mean, and I'm not going live. Winning always feels good.
- 39:20Speaker 1: Of the one hundred yard Dash or a Golden Globe award.
- 39:26Speaker 1: It's especially exciting because for us, James Baldwin is like
- 39:32Speaker 1: a Shakespeare of our time. You know. He we read
- 39:36Speaker 1: his essays, we watched his interviews, and he just was
- 39:40Speaker 1: always such a passionate person and always spoke for us
- 39:46Speaker 1: so well and captured the Black American experience so well.
- 39:52Speaker 1: So to be in a project that's bringing younger people
- 39:58Speaker 1: to his words, knowing the history of James Baldwin and
- 40:03Speaker 1: what he means to us, that's that's an honor. I mean,
- 40:07Speaker 1: this is the first American adaptation of James Baldwin novel
- 40:12Speaker 1: and I get to say that I was in it,
- 40:15Speaker 1: like that's kind of badassya. Hold on, guys, we'll have
- 40:23Speaker 1: more with Regina King at thirty four after the hour.
- 40:27Speaker 1: You're listening, all right, Steve, we just love the movie.
- 40:32Speaker 1: If Beale Street could talk, our girl, actress Regina King
- 40:35Speaker 1: is here. He's gonna tell us more about the movie
- 40:37Speaker 1: and happy belated birthday to you. By the way, Regina,
- 40:40Speaker 1: before we get too far into the interview, your birthday
- 40:43Speaker 1: was earlier this week, right, Oh yeah, January fifteen, or
- 40:52Speaker 1: you got to go Luther King, girl. See look at you.
- 40:56Speaker 1: You better know girl, you Luther King, Mark Luster King
- 41:01Speaker 1: and Regina King. You know, if I'd have been in
- 41:06Speaker 1: school out of head that lie working I did. I did.
- 41:10Speaker 1: It lasted for about three years and then the jig
- 41:12Speaker 1: was up. I got caught. That's but yeah, I used
- 41:16Speaker 1: to use I used to say that he was my uncle.
- 41:19Speaker 1: And you know, this is how I knew I was
- 41:22Speaker 1: going to be actor. I would actually sad in school.
- 41:26Speaker 1: You know. My teacher would be like, it's your birthday,
- 41:29Speaker 1: that's wrong, and I would say, well, it's also my
- 41:32Speaker 1: uncle's birthday. And I was like, who's your uncle? And
- 41:35Speaker 1: I was like the main, great old girl. He tried
- 41:39Speaker 1: to birthday a holiday, and we get a lot of
- 41:43Speaker 1: resistance from the government. Oh yeah, I would go, oh,
- 41:46Speaker 1: and I have to do any work, no tests, nothing, yes.
- 41:51Speaker 1: And it lasted like two years. And my mom came
- 41:54Speaker 1: to pick me up one day and I was outside
- 41:57Speaker 1: playing for a square and I looked in the when
- 42:00Speaker 1: it's like you're not like you could feel when your
- 42:02Speaker 1: parents are looking at you. Yea yes. And I turned
- 42:07Speaker 1: around and saw her looking at me like, oh, you're
- 42:10Speaker 1: gonna get in the school talking to the teacher, just
- 42:17Speaker 1: looking at the wind that that was a gool. No.
- 42:23Speaker 1: I'm proud of you. That's why there's so much Oscar
- 42:29Speaker 1: buzz about your Regina King and and your role as
- 42:32Speaker 1: Sharon and if Bill Street could talk. A great cast
- 42:35Speaker 1: in this movie. Um, we got to see newcomer Kiki
- 42:38Speaker 1: Lane do an amazing job as your daughter. What a
- 42:42Speaker 1: great young actress she is. She plays Trisi in the movie,
- 42:47Speaker 1: as as well as Stefan James, who started as Fannie
- 42:49Speaker 1: in the movie. So, I mean, what was it like
- 42:52Speaker 1: working with these young up and coming actors. It was
- 42:54Speaker 1: a treat because both Stefani Kiki are They're not in
- 43:00Speaker 1: this to be celebrity. They're like, they are truly artists.
- 43:04Speaker 1: They are actors. They study, they do their homework, they
- 43:07Speaker 1: are professional and you know, you always are kind of
- 43:11Speaker 1: you You're hesitant when you come into something and you
- 43:14Speaker 1: know you're gonna have young talent, you don't know how
- 43:17Speaker 1: serious they're gonna take it. And they understood the responsibility
- 43:22Speaker 1: that they had, and they held each other up. They
- 43:26Speaker 1: were just amazing partners for each other. It was It
- 43:30Speaker 1: was a joy to watch. I cannot wait to see
- 43:34Speaker 1: what else Kiki is gonna do. Her next film is
- 43:37Speaker 1: Native Sun. So that's how serious she walked about. Why. Yeah, yeah,
- 43:42Speaker 1: she's coming for it like that. Yeah. I really did
- 43:45Speaker 1: feel the love between this young couple. You really felt
- 43:48Speaker 1: it between them. So we look for great things from them.
- 43:52Speaker 1: But Regina, we're so happy that you know, you took
- 43:54Speaker 1: the time to just stop by and say hey to us.
- 43:57Speaker 1: Anything else you want to tell people that haven't seen
- 44:00Speaker 1: the movie, If Bill Street can talk, I just encourage
- 44:03Speaker 1: people to go out because this is just not only
- 44:06Speaker 1: a love story between a young couple, but if you
- 44:11Speaker 1: see the love for a five that a father has
- 44:14Speaker 1: for his daughter, you see the love that Coleman character
- 44:17Speaker 1: and I that we have for each other, and you
- 44:19Speaker 1: don't often get to see that, especially for pieces that
- 44:24Speaker 1: are period pieces that take place. You know, this takes
- 44:26Speaker 1: place in nineteen seventy, and you get to see us
- 44:29Speaker 1: loving on each other. You get to see sisters loving
- 44:32Speaker 1: on each other, and especially for young women, to see
- 44:36Speaker 1: how a young man is supposed to care for them, yes,
- 44:40Speaker 1: and love them with care. It's a beautiful thing to see. Hey, y'all, listen,
- 44:46Speaker 1: If Bill Street could Talk is in theaters right now.
- 44:48Speaker 1: When you go to the theater, make sure your ticket
- 44:51Speaker 1: has if Bill Street could Talk on it. Do not
- 44:54Speaker 1: accept anything else. If they try to give you another ticket.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Get management up to the window so we can get
- 44:59Speaker 1: credit for these movies. Best thing to do is to
- 45:02Speaker 1: order the tickets online. That way, there ain't no trouble
- 45:04Speaker 1: you walk in with you're receiving. That's it. If Bill
- 45:06Speaker 1: Street could talk start one of the great ones out there.
- 45:08Speaker 1: I'm telling you, this girl can really go. Man, she
- 45:11Speaker 1: got the child. Regina King. We love you, girl, I
- 45:14Speaker 1: love you back, appreciate you by congratulations on everything girl.

- 46:25Speaker 1: land of what we have here and how how much
- 46:28Speaker 1: fun you're gonna have being here most of the day
- 46:31Speaker 1: with herself. From my understanding is you're gonna be here
- 46:34Speaker 1: probably the majority of this year. What are you talking?
- 46:37Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Being there? Where? Here? At
- 46:41Speaker 1: the adult daycare? Adult daycare? Where? Where's that? What are

- 47:05Speaker 1: and I know what. How are you talking about? Evan? Evan,
- 47:07Speaker 1: hang on a second. All right, First of all, I
- 47:09Speaker 1: don't know who you are. You don't know who I am.
- 47:12Speaker 1: I don't know how the you know who my daughter is.
- 47:17Speaker 1: But this is this is really uh inappropriate and weird.
- 47:21Speaker 1: And what are you trying to get? What do you

- 47:37Speaker 1: during the day, so I'm going to I don't know
- 47:41Speaker 1: what you're talking about. There's no way she would do
- 47:43Speaker 1: that adult day here. What do I need to doun't
- 47:45Speaker 1: day care for? So what? Well? Evidently are you home
- 47:49Speaker 1: alone most of the time during the day. Who cares
- 47:51Speaker 1: if I'm home alone? Why are you asking me that
- 47:54Speaker 1: you're trying to break into my house? No? You are, man,
- 47:59Speaker 1: I don't miss Sharon. Okay, Michael, look, I'm hooked up
- 48:04Speaker 1: to that uh nine one month stuff. Thanks, like I
- 48:08Speaker 1: could just do a panicle right now and they'll trace
- 48:11Speaker 1: this call. And then will come to you and arrest
- 48:14Speaker 1: you because you're harassing me. No, no, no, okay, miss Sharon,
- 48:19Speaker 1: I'm not harassing you. Your daughter, Diane came in and
- 48:24Speaker 1: signed up. Yes, she signed you up for you to
- 48:27Speaker 1: go to this daycare Monday to Friday. Why she's at work,
- 48:30Speaker 1: so she's going to be dropping you off and then
- 48:33Speaker 1: she'll pick you up in the evenings on her way
- 48:35Speaker 1: home from work. I know where you got that from.
- 48:38Speaker 1: I don't know who told you that. Yeah, you got
- 48:40Speaker 1: my daughter's name. And this is really freaking me out,
- 48:43Speaker 1: you know, a little bit over here, Ivan, because I
- 48:45Speaker 1: don't know why you know my name? You know my
- 48:48Speaker 1: daughter's name. Ah, this is like the only reason I
- 48:51Speaker 1: know you all name, miss miss Sharon, is because she
- 48:54Speaker 1: came in and gave all the information and she has

- 49:14Speaker 1: I'm not going to no daycare center. I'm not going
- 49:17Speaker 1: with a daycare center I want to see because I'm fine.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Just get that through your head. There's nothing wrong with me.
- 49:24Speaker 1: I stay home, I got a dog, I walk the dog,
- 49:28Speaker 1: I go street shopping, my daughter comes over. Everything's fine.
- 49:33Speaker 1: I don't get no daycare center. Okay, Well, I understand
- 49:36Speaker 1: what I'm saying that there is there is there a
- 49:38Speaker 1: reason why she would sign you up. Man. She must
- 49:41Speaker 1: she must be looking out for your best. You know
- 49:44Speaker 1: your hell. Let me ask you. Let me ask you.
- 49:46Speaker 1: Are you single? What are you single? Are you married?
- 49:50Speaker 1: What does that have to do with anybody? I'm not
- 49:53Speaker 1: coming to no date haare center? All right? Evan? Like,
- 49:55Speaker 1: if you want to come to my house and you
- 49:57Speaker 1: want to see how I live, you can. I don't.
- 50:01Speaker 1: I'm twitching. I'm switching it up. Okay, I don't need
- 50:05Speaker 1: to come to your home. I'm more concerned about making
- 50:09Speaker 1: sure you're comfortable here at the adult day when you
- 50:11Speaker 1: get here on Monday. Yeah, I'm not coming there. That's it.
- 50:15Speaker 1: I'm not coming there because there's nothing wrong with me.
- 50:17Speaker 1: I'm not coming out of my house. But I'll pay
- 50:19Speaker 1: you what even you. I don't know, like I like
- 50:23Speaker 1: your voice. I just like your voice. Miss Way minute,

- 54:59Speaker 1: hold on tight, we got it for you. Here. It
- 55:01Speaker 1: is the Strawberry Letter subject all in the family. Here
- 55:07Speaker 1: Stephen Shirley, I am keeping a secret from my sweetie,
- 55:11Speaker 1: and I need your advice. When I was eighteen years
- 55:14Speaker 1: old and a senior in high school, I was in
- 55:17Speaker 1: love with a beautiful girl who was eighteen and went
- 55:21Speaker 1: to a neighboring school. We were each other's first everything.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Our puppy love ended when we went away to college.
- 55:29Speaker 1: I got a good job and got married right after college,
- 55:32Speaker 1: and by the time I was thirty seven, I was
- 55:34Speaker 1: divorced and I got a job transfer back to the
- 55:38Speaker 1: city I grew up in. Shortly after I moved back,
- 55:41Speaker 1: I ran into my high school sweetheart. We had both
- 55:45Speaker 1: matured in good ways, she was single and still looked
- 55:49Speaker 1: as good as she did twenty years ago. We started
- 55:52Speaker 1: dating and now we are inseparable. It's been two years
- 55:57Speaker 1: and I want to marry this woman. We spend a
- 55:59Speaker 1: lot of time around each other's family, and everyone thought
- 56:03Speaker 1: we were perfect for each other until my great aunt
- 56:06Speaker 1: Doreen came to visit and started snooping around. Aunt Dorene said,
- 56:12Speaker 1: my girlfriend looked familiar as she went and dug up
- 56:15Speaker 1: an old, dusty picture of our family tree. Aunt Doreen
- 56:21Speaker 1: told my parents and I that the love of my
- 56:24Speaker 1: life is the great granddaughter of one of my grandfather's
- 56:30Speaker 1: first cousins. I was like, say what. I didn't want
- 56:36Speaker 1: to believe it, but the proof was there. I promised
- 56:40Speaker 1: my family that I would break the news to my girl,
- 56:42Speaker 1: but I don't know how to tell her that we
- 56:45Speaker 1: are such distant cousins that it seemed pointless to break
- 56:48Speaker 1: up over it. But I must admit that I am
- 56:51Speaker 1: worried about the gene pool being too close and us
- 56:54Speaker 1: having a child with problems. If you know what I mean,
- 56:58Speaker 1: how do I break the news to her? We risk
- 57:00Speaker 1: it all and stay together? Wow? Oh boy, I mean,
- 57:06Speaker 1: excuse me? This is something I don't I mean, the
- 57:12Speaker 1: great granddaughter of one of your grandfather's first cousins, I
- 57:17Speaker 1: don't even know if you guys are still really related.
- 57:21Speaker 1: I mean the bloodline. I don't know. I mean this
- 57:28Speaker 1: is I don't even know if you guys are still related. Honestly,
- 57:31Speaker 1: I mean, I guess somewhere, way, way, way, way, way
- 57:34Speaker 1: way down the line. You know, there may be a
- 57:37Speaker 1: drop of blood or something, you know, in your veins
- 57:41Speaker 1: or something. But um, I would tell her, I would
- 57:44Speaker 1: just be straight up and tell her. But I would,
- 57:47Speaker 1: you know, take one of those ancestry tests or something
- 57:52Speaker 1: and find out for sure if you guys are really related,
- 57:55Speaker 1: or is Aunt Dereene just being messy and uh, you
- 57:59Speaker 1: know it's her life's miserable or something. This this is
- 58:02Speaker 1: a tough one because I don't know. I just don't
- 58:05Speaker 1: know the great granddaughter of my grandfather's first cousins. First
- 58:09Speaker 1: of all, you have to sit her down and you
- 58:10Speaker 1: have to tell her. And then from there, you guys
- 58:13Speaker 1: got to work on this together. And I don't know
- 58:16Speaker 1: if that means stay together. I just don't know. Should
- 58:19Speaker 1: you risk it all and stay together? No, not without
- 58:21Speaker 1: finding out more information, and that's all I have, Steve,
- 58:26Speaker 1: it ain't really nothing to have in this letter. It's
- 58:28Speaker 1: all in the family. Let's start with fat assn't say
- 58:34Speaker 1: you know already. I'm telling you right now, old big
- 58:39Speaker 1: bitter ass, ain't don't wory, and it came in here.
- 58:43Speaker 1: Ain't got nobody, ain't happy, don't want nobody else to
- 58:46Speaker 1: have No damn body. That's all. This is the set
- 58:49Speaker 1: up in here, You don't. We were dating this girl
- 58:52Speaker 1: in high school, everything everything, puppy love y'all. Went away
- 58:56Speaker 1: to college. It ended, got a good job, got married
- 58:59Speaker 1: right at college. By the time you was thirty seven,
- 59:02Speaker 1: that's nineteen years later, you was divorced, got a job,
- 59:06Speaker 1: transferred back to the city you grew up in. You
- 59:09Speaker 1: moved back. You ran into her. You had both matured
- 59:12Speaker 1: and good ways. She was single and still looked like
- 59:15Speaker 1: she did twenty years ago. Lord him Mercy jack Pot.
- 59:18Speaker 1: We started dating and now we're inseparable. It's been two years,
- 59:22Speaker 1: and I want to marry this woman. We spent all
- 59:24Speaker 1: kinds of time around each other, family, everybody thought we
- 59:28Speaker 1: were perfect for each other until my great aunt Doreene
- 59:33Speaker 1: bought hub Ass into town and it started snoop noll,
- 59:38Speaker 1: steve nothing, you don't see that in there now, Ain't
- 59:46Speaker 1: Dorene ain't got nothing else to do, and said, my
- 59:49Speaker 1: girlfriend looked for million. She went and dug up an old,
- 59:54Speaker 1: dusty picture of our family tree. Now, hold on, you
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: spent a lot of time around each other's family, and
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: everybody thought he was perfect for each other. You've been
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: around her family, she's been around your family. Ain't nobody
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: said nothing to old Doreene came in to say that
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: it says it right there and if you read carefully now,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: everybody he tried to say it unto my great aunt
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: you ain't nobody your great aunt, that's what he that's
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: shot to my grid. Ain't Doreene came to visit and
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: started snooping around, Ain't Doreen saying, my girlfriend looked familiar,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: dug up old dusty picture of my family tree. Ain't
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Dereene told my parents and I that the love of
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: my life. Now listen to me, y'all. It's the great
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: granddaughter of one of my grandfathers first cousins. Going on,
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: I can't even track that, na, what is that? Let
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: me let me show it again. The love of your
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: life is the great granddaughter. Now, when you're the great granddaughter,
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: that means that one of her grandfathers is the great
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: granddaughter of one of her grandfather's first cousins. What I know,
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: it's too much boy, that's so far in the line.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: And you know how you get to be cousins? You
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: marry somebody else. What you got to marry somebody else?
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: See to have a cousin, A cousin don't have to
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: be You can marry a cousin and be called a cousin.
- 1:01:49Speaker 1: You follow what I'm saying. Yeah, yeah, you can be
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: a cousin because you're married in or like a niece
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: and nephew that on her uncle. Come on, now, you
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: know how family laws? Yeah yeah, I was like, save what.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: I ain't want to believe it, but the proof was
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: right there. All right, all right, Steve, we're gonna have
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: part two of your response coming up at twenty three
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: after the hour's subject all in the family. Right there
- 1:02:21Speaker 1: right after this you're listening to. All right, Steve, come on,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: let's recap today's Strawberry Letters subject all in the family.
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: This dude ran up in his old high school sweetheart.
- 1:02:35Speaker 1: After nineteen years of being away, got a divorce, got
- 1:02:39Speaker 1: transferred back to the city. He grew up and ran
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: up into the high school. Sweetheart, she still single, looking
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: good as she did twenty years ago. They started dating
- 1:02:49Speaker 1: and not in seven It's been two years. Man, I
- 1:02:52Speaker 1: want to marry this woman. We spend all time together
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: with each other's family. Everybody thought we'd perfect each other
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: in Ain't Doreene can't attell? Would you stop? I'm telling you?
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: She big goes out of that church, had her own
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: you know, still care bible. That's her said of being him. Man,
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: ain't Dereen saying my girlfriend looked familiar. She wouldn't dig
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: up an old, dusty picture of our family tree. Ain't
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: Doreen told my parents? And now that the love of
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: my life is the great granddaughter of one of my
- 1:03:31Speaker 1: grandfathers first conusins Now we can't even track this. No,
- 1:03:39Speaker 1: I don't even know how to say it to you.
- 1:03:42Speaker 1: That's so damn crazy. And then the dude say, I
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: would like say what I ain't want to believe it?
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: But the proof is right there. My question is right, Well,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: this old ass picture, this is all that picture? She
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: ain't in it. I promise my family that I would
- 1:04:02Speaker 1: break the news to my girl, but I don't know
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: how to tell her that we are such distant cousins
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: that it seems pointless to break up over it. But
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: I must admit that I'm worried about the jene pool
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: too close and us having a child with problems, if
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: you know what I mean? How do I break the
- 1:04:19Speaker 1: news to it? Should I risk it all and stay together? Well,
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: first of all, I don't think there's no reason to
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: break up. I think you should go in there and
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: set your girl down. Do some research, go over the facts.
- 1:04:34Speaker 1: You're gonna find out that y'all are so far away
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: that actually it's legal for y'all to marry. Because y'all
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: so far away, man, that it y'all ain't really related
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: and you could be somebody's cousin just by marriage. Yeah see,
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: but your big old aren't up in here. She don't
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: want to bring now that she just want to destroy
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: bigg Now, I understand you, you admitted, but dumb, you've
- 1:05:06Speaker 1: gotta tell your girl. You gotta tell her you're right
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: and just sit down and say this is what came up.
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: You gotta tell her now, you know, look if you
- 1:05:17Speaker 1: know and it's like this. If you tell everybody that
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: the news came from big As, ain't dareen. Ain't nobody
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: gonna believe you? No, damn how much mess ain't durn
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: you started in the family. You got to deal with her,
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Lies is woman and tone.
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: She by herself. She's single. That's why she had time
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: to dig up that old dust dass photo because she
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: ain't number photos left in a light. Everybody else to
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: left her. But you know what to steve? How many times?
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: Have a lot of times people who aren't related at all,
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: they get married or they're in a relationship and they
- 1:05:57Speaker 1: start to look like each other. So it could just
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: be a coincidence. You know that they look alike? Surely,
- 1:06:03Speaker 1: what haven't you ever heard somebody? I have never heard
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: anybody say that. You guys have been going together so longer, Mary,
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: so long as you start, Yeah, you starting to look alike.
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: I've been with Margie long as town. We don't do
- 1:06:15Speaker 1: nothing alike. No, you don't know. You don't look like
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: Phraise the Lord. No, a moment she started looking like me.
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: This definitely listen to me. The votes number three. Right
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: after that, she started looking like I'm walking clean up
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: this moment. But just to let you know that is
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: a thing though some people, you know. Yeah, well I
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: tell you what, it bed not be a thing up
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: him day Margie started, this is over. That's funny. Yeah,
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: that can't happen. Surely I heard what you said for that.
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: Praise God. That can't have them up in here. We
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: can start acting like each other a little bit. Uh huh.
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: Sitting up there out there on vacation, trying to smoke
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: a cigar. Yeah, to date, it's the first day that
- 1:07:20Speaker 1: I'm smoking a cigar. Because they throw on a birthday party. Okay,
- 1:07:24Speaker 1: and you all are invited, look at it. It's just
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: supposed to be family. But y'all my work family. So
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: I'm inviting y'all over to the house. Yeah yeah, weight
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: on it. No, no, yeah, weight on it. Yeah. So
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: you can't drive over there, no no, no, no, Yeah,
- 1:07:48Speaker 1: I'm gonna send it for you. Ja yeah wa wait
- 1:07:51Speaker 1: right there. Well, if I know I'm going to the party,
- 1:07:53Speaker 1: I'm gonna be in a special way that I don't
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: think I should be traveling. Shouldn't see tell Merger, we
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: don't just invite us and don't let her know we're
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: coming yea, no, no, no, she's gonna be cool. What
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: do you know? Okay, I don't never invite nobody to
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: my house, so she's gonna be stunned in it. And
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: when usually just guys tell us whether is because I
- 1:08:13Speaker 1: don't know where the house is? So are you gonna
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: kick us out? Oh? Yeah, trying to martin us. I
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: look forward to it. You ain't got to wear about it,
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: but you're gonna enjoy the food though. It's gonna be
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: real nice. So about four o'clock day, y'all fall through. Okay,
- 1:08:33Speaker 1: I'm surprised you're having a party. C I'm surprised too.
- 1:08:39Speaker 1: You don't want want to? Man? What my girl always doing? Man?
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: Four o'clock, he gonna kick you out by seven player,
- 1:08:51Speaker 1: it's fried to Friday. It's Friday to day, so foll
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: to midnight. Whoa, that's dicat is over with at four.
- 1:08:58Speaker 1: But it's kind of like our knew Year's Eve party.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I knew us. I mean our Christmas Eve party. Oh yes,
- 1:09:03Speaker 1: oh those hours it was really good. Oh I got
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: some surprises for y'all. Y'all come on, o, man, thank
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: y'all for everything you have. Birthday y'all have a great
- 1:09:10Speaker 1: weekend birthday to yourself. Yeah, as a lot of fact,
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: I'm even we had a couple more hours to go
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: at least. Now you thought I was gonna give it
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: to you On their all right, coming up in ten minutes,
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: Cardi B talks government shutdown. Wait till you hear this.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: You're listening to show well guys, Cardie B. Yeah, I'm
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: talking rapper. Cardi B. Yeah, had some thoughts on the
- 1:09:42Speaker 1: government shutdown herself, which at the twenty seven days is
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: now the longest shutdown in government history, in US history.
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: It really really is. I mean I really feel for
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: these people now they're having to make choices between paying
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: for daycare, paying their card notes. One woman had to
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: make a choice between paying her mortgage and paying for
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: her chemo treatment she's got, Yeah, stage three breast cancer.
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: This is really serious. You know, it's affecting people in
- 1:10:13Speaker 1: ways you wouldn't even think of ordinarily. Yes, this same, Yeah,
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: it really is. I mean people are making all kinds
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: of choices between you know, do we eat or do
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: we pay our car note? You know. And on a
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: really more serious note, Yeah, there was a woman who
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: had stage three breast cancer. She had to choose between
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: paying her paying for her chemo treatments and paying for
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: her kid's daycare. Things like this. I mean, it's seriously,
- 1:10:39Speaker 1: you know, it's affecting people in ways that she would
- 1:10:41Speaker 1: never think of ordinarily. But Cardi B shared a passionate
- 1:10:46Speaker 1: message via Instagram. This was a video yesterday afternoon. She
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: criticized President Trump. Take a listen, Hey, y'all, I just
- 1:10:53Speaker 1: want to her mind yet, because it's been a little
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: bit over three weeks. Okay, it's been a little bit
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: over three weeks. Trump, it's now ordering, as in, summonsing
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: federal government workers to go back to work without getting paid. Now.
- 1:11:08Speaker 1: I don't want to hear y'all talking about all, but
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: Obama shut down the government for seventeen days. Yeah, for healthcare,
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: so your grandma could check a blood pressure and you
- 1:11:17Speaker 1: gonna check your colleges were no problems. Now. I know
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: a lot of y'all don't care because y'all to work
- 1:11:23Speaker 1: for the government, or y'all paly don't even have a job.
- 1:11:25Speaker 1: But this is really serious, bro, This is crazy, Like
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: our country's in a hellhole right now, all for wall
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: and we really need to take this serious. I feel
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: like we need to take some action. I don't know
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: what type of action because this is not what I do.
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: But I'm scared. This is crazy, and I really feel
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: bad for these people that gotta go to work to
- 1:11:48Speaker 1: not get paid. Yeah that's you speak. Yeah, you know
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: what I'm worried about. What I'm worried about because we're
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: already there desperate measures. When people get to a certain
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: extent where it's like this, you don't know what they're
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: gonna do. Man, anything can start happening where it just
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: it becomes like all place, you're doing what you gotta
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: do to survive, and now you can get crazy. Did
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: he say like the purge, I'm just asking like the
- 1:12:22Speaker 1: purch not the purge, Jake, come on, don't Yeah, the foovie,
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: the purse, pillaging and stuff one night one night. Yeah,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: but if you go, you're going to survival mode. Man. Yeah.
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: But you know what time it before, before they shutdown,
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: there were a lot of people already making choices about
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: their medication and about cheating for themselves because it just
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: didn't have the money. And this is just making it worse.
- 1:12:50Speaker 1: And Trump don't give a damn. He just don't give
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: no he's already said he's not backing down, and I
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: hate that he said that, and I just this is terrible.
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: I hate where we are as a country right now.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: You know, listen to the American people. They don't want
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: the wall. You want the wall. They don't want the wall.
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: They want they want border security. Yes, but those are
- 1:13:12Speaker 1: two different things. I'm gonna try to get y'all as
- 1:13:15Speaker 1: something on a little light of note. Okay, Carla, Okay,
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: we haven't heard it yet. All right. So I got
- 1:13:23Speaker 1: this meme today that said the government better start paying
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: TSA agents. Oh oh wow, yeah wow, But you know
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: what it's I was gonna bring up the TSA agents, Tommy,
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: because you know, this is really serious. They are calling
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: in sick. Yeah, they're calling in sick because they don't
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: want to work without pay. And then the ones that
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: are working are working way over the time, the a
- 1:13:53Speaker 1: lot of time that they normally want to keep an
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: eye on everything like like they do it yeah right, right,
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: And things can slip through purity, they can slip through
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: lack of manpower. Right. And they're telling you to get
- 1:14:04Speaker 1: to the airport two and three hours ahead of time,
- 1:14:07Speaker 1: you know, because there there's a shortage there, and um,
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: you know the lines are goals. Yea, the lines are
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: going to be long, right, And let me tell you something.
- 1:14:16Speaker 1: All these extra perks that you hear people have, how
- 1:14:18Speaker 1: they have TSA pre check, how you have clear trust me,
- 1:14:23Speaker 1: that means nothing. Now you need to be there three
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: hours ahead of time to make sure you get through
- 1:14:27Speaker 1: that line. Yes, absolutely, you do. Yeah, yeah, yeah yeah.
- 1:14:30Speaker 1: I had a friend who tried to. She bought some
- 1:14:33Speaker 1: gift cards, some Starbucks gift cards because she travels a lot.
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: You know. She was passing out the gift cards to
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: the workers, the TSA worker race, and they couldn't take it.
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: They was like, thank you for your generosity and your offer,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: but we can't accept that. Not allowed can be considered
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: a bribe, right you can't. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah yeah,
- 1:14:53Speaker 1: but they can take your damn peanut. But if you
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: go through that with a big job it, don't ask
- 1:14:57Speaker 1: me how I know. But don't you heard? Yeah, this
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: is we hopefully before the end of the month. I
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: mean they have to go another week now, yeah, about
- 1:15:12Speaker 1: a month. Today's Friday, to come to it. Since this
- 1:15:17Speaker 1: is never gonna happen, that's just not gonna happen, all right, guys,
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: moving on, coming up at the top of the hour,
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: football talk AFC versus NFC Championship Games, guys and ladies
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: coming up right after this. You're listening to. Okay, guys, Junior,
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: tell me Jay, what's your guy? This Sunday is the
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: AFC versus NFC Championship Games. Junior La Ram Jay New

- 1:16:36Speaker 1: who that nation. I'm married to a man from the
- 1:16:38Speaker 1: West Bank, Louisiana. I wish you would coming in black
- 1:16:42Speaker 1: and gold everywhere in the house, especially in his man cave.
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: He had an autograph Drew Breeze frame Jersey. Wow. Wait,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: a minute. Cat just say Tisha's second line and all
- 1:16:56Speaker 1: through the house, the second line and always all through
- 1:16:59Speaker 1: the house. And napkin. He got that napkin with two fighters.
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: Oh my god, play the second live music for Okay,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: But to be a fan, you would definitely want to
- 1:17:14Speaker 1: be a New Orleans Saint than if they win. They
- 1:17:21Speaker 1: but it's gonna be a party either way, either way,
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: either way. But let me tell y'all this. Y'all remember
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: back in two thousand and nine when the Saints won
- 1:17:28Speaker 1: the Super Bowl. Shirley, I don't know if you remember,
- 1:17:32Speaker 1: Shirley called us because we had a big old super
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: Bowl party. Shirley called and said, what y'all doing? Y'all
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: over the party? So I said, girl, watch tashaw he
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: gonna run down the street. But that's that's when you
- 1:17:48Speaker 1: all the way in with your team. Baby. Yeah, so
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: Shirley said, Tasha was what one Tasha? So Shirley said,
- 1:17:56Speaker 1: where is Tasha? I said, we don't know. I was like,
- 1:18:02Speaker 1: my baby, what are you doing? The sites wanted the
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: Super Bowl? Did you hear me? We don't care? What
- 1:18:08Speaker 1: a baby? Good time. That's the end of se We
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: have to talk about the AFC down fellas got the
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: New England Patriots City, we just the Chiefs, and I'm
- 1:18:22Speaker 1: going with Barbecue. Got to go with the Chiefs. Ye See,
- 1:18:25Speaker 1: since I don't know much about football, here's how I
- 1:18:28Speaker 1: pick a team. Okay, whatever team got the most black
- 1:18:32Speaker 1: players on that team, that's who I rote. Then Okay,
- 1:18:36Speaker 1: let me just say that. Let me say this. I'm
- 1:18:39Speaker 1: not into it either, Jay. I take it a step further.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: Whoever is the cutest on the Shirley, So they means
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: you going in New England? Whoever? And then and then
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: I break it down, sir, if they if they both
- 1:18:51Speaker 1: got a lot of black players, who's got the most
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: darkest players? I would go with that? Then you mean, Jay,
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: now you're going for the Chiefs because I'm gonna tell
- 1:19:02Speaker 1: you right now, the Reek Hill dark enough. Two people black? Yeah,
- 1:19:08Speaker 1: he'd take up for two people. That's what I like
- 1:19:10Speaker 1: about Junior. Really no sports football man. I want to play, yeah,
- 1:19:17Speaker 1: he said that earlier. He wanted to be I wanted
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: to play in the NFL. Dream what happened to al Kills?
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: All of that? Oh? Yeah, yeah playing football? Yeah? You
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: play running back? Running back? Yeah, running back. I tried
- 1:19:34Speaker 1: to really impress the coach and go after a pass
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: on a plate. I should have just let go, and
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: so I jumped in. The dude that was playing cornerback
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: said you won't come down regularly because he hit the
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: mess side of me. Man flipped me upside down. Hold out.
- 1:19:49Speaker 1: When I landed, I knew right there, I said, yeah,
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: just over. Yeah, but I mean plenty of people played
- 1:19:53Speaker 1: with touring acls and stuff like that. But I came back.
- 1:19:56Speaker 1: I came back. I didn't have speed, no more, I couldn't.
- 1:20:00Speaker 1: Can't you know what you think at every time I've
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: seen in the tune we passed on a three hundred
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: by the lockers. I'm gonna tell your hold on behalf
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: of me and a lot of people who don't know
- 1:20:14Speaker 1: what is the ACL. It's Achilles tending it. Now, you're
- 1:20:19Speaker 1: gonna give me the definition of something with something else.
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: I don't know. No, it's it's never mind. I don't
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: know Ailles tendon. Yeah, and she rubbed and she rubbed
- 1:20:35Speaker 1: her but the back of it though, yeah, Achilles hell
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: think like she doted. Yeah, this is al so, yeah,
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: I got you. It's okay, that's all. Yeah, it's about
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: your heel duct tape or nothing like that. Man, gorilla,
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: you know, let's talk about this. If you're gonna watch
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: the game, you got to have your wings together for
- 1:21:02Speaker 1: the game. Okay, Okay, I have your wings right. And
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: you know what bothers me about some people When I
- 1:21:08Speaker 1: go to the house, your wings ain't done. Man, cook
- 1:21:11Speaker 1: your wings all the way through. Oh yes, and don't
- 1:21:15Speaker 1: let them sit out, Tommy and get all dry. Yeah,
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: I hate that. Are you cooking sunny time? You ain't wing?
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: I think I'm gonna do some jerk chicken wings. Man,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: You do jerk chicken wings. I do jerk JERKM cook.
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: I know jerk I make. Man. He introduced me to
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: grilled oysters on the grill, Tommy, did it was when
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: I was your first song? Yeah? Yeah, said he's gonna
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: change your life. And it did because I see it
- 1:21:44Speaker 1: on the I got it. I can't cook at all,
- 1:21:47Speaker 1: and my son is a good cook, but I can't.
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: But Tommy, you're just having jerk chicken. You're not having
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: like lemon, pepper and hot. You're not a variety people like. Yeah,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: But but I do that because everybody likes to ride.
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: Everybody don't like jerk. Sometimes too a little too spicy
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: for youself. You know, you gotta do traditional, you gotta
- 1:22:04Speaker 1: do some of course. Lemon pepper. Lemon pepper just started
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: about five years ago where that just became lemon pepper.
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: Love lemon. But it's not diabetic friendly. But I can
- 1:22:16Speaker 1: tell you every diabetic eat them. They eat them, they
- 1:22:19Speaker 1: damn em. But it's not sweet. It's not sweet, Jake,
- 1:22:22Speaker 1: what do you mean it's not diabetic friendly because it's
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: a lot of salt. That's salt, sugar and salts. So
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: you got sugar and salt diabetes. Man, Wow, you can't
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: have heard are sweet? All your your your chicken. When
- 1:22:43Speaker 1: you eat chicken, it really just be chicken wash all
- 1:22:49Speaker 1: that season and his bake and his baked Junior. He'll
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: just be having chicken. Your life sucked. I have been
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: found to cure. All right, Yeah, let's go sites, let's
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: go Chase. We need y'all fainting cheese. What's that's what
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: we're rolling with. We'll be rolling with. I like it
- 1:23:17Speaker 1: all right. We'll be back with more of the Steve
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: Harvey Morning Show right after this. You're listening to show.
- 1:23:25Speaker 1: Donald Trump's former lawyer, Michael Cohen paid someone fifty thousand
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: dollars back in twenty fifteen to rig online poles and
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: tip them in Donald Trump's favor. Now, this is according
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: to a Wall Street Journal article. John Gouger, the owner
- 1:23:43Speaker 1: of tech company Red Finch Solution, says that Cohen offered
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: him the money to manipulate two news sites poles to
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: make sure it looked like Trump was leading. He claims
- 1:23:53Speaker 1: that Cohen handed him a bag containing twelve thousand dollars
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: during a meeting at Cohen's office and promise to pay
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: him the remainder at a later date. But guess what
- 1:24:03Speaker 1: he never did, never did Yeah, that sounded like Trump. Yeah,
- 1:24:07Speaker 1: so the guy rigged the poles thinking he was gonna
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: get fifty thousand dollars, only got twelve and that was it.
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: Shortly after the Wall Street Journal published the story, Cohen
- 1:24:15Speaker 1: confirmed it on Twitter, writing, as for the WSJ, as
- 1:24:20Speaker 1: for at WSJ uh the article on pole rigging, what
- 1:24:24Speaker 1: I did was at the direction of, and for the
- 1:24:27Speaker 1: sole benefit of, at real Donald Trump at potus. I
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: truly regret my blind loyalty to a man who doesn't
- 1:24:36Speaker 1: deserve it. Wow, heine sight when he said that at
- 1:24:39Speaker 1: real Donald Trump, right yeah, that's Twitter's Yeah, let's see
- 1:24:48Speaker 1: all of them people wrong though, he wronged for rigging it.
- 1:24:50Speaker 1: They are supposed to be going to jail. Yeah yeah, yeah,
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: and he never got it though. Yeah, he didn't did it.
- 1:24:59Speaker 1: He did it, He definitely didn't. He didn't get paid though.
- 1:25:04Speaker 1: What what did Jay say? You know, you know who
- 1:25:12Speaker 1: was us on television? Jack? Wait, okay, tell me you
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: go first? Then Jay? What you know? Who was just
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: as ignorant as we are? But they're on TV man
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: Jack Barkley and Kenny Smith and me Kens hitting each other,
- 1:25:45Speaker 1: knocked me yeah, yeah, yeah, But back to co window. Yeah, Canary.
- 1:25:54Speaker 1: It seems like, yeah, he's telling it all. He appears
- 1:25:56Speaker 1: to be uh, he appears to just be deterred and
- 1:26:00Speaker 1: to take Trump down. It's like he's not going down
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: without a fight, and he's not gonna, you know, take
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: all this on without you know, naming names. He's also
- 1:26:09Speaker 1: trying to paint himself as a victim who was just
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: doing what he was told. Part of that's true, part
- 1:26:14Speaker 1: of that's not true. Part of part of it was
- 1:26:16Speaker 1: he knew he was a fixture a victim at all.
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: He was getting paid to be dirty. Yeah, he was
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: a fixture, was illegal. Knew what knew, right, But he
- 1:26:26Speaker 1: didn't He didn't know that he was going to get
- 1:26:29Speaker 1: turned in and turned on. I know he was going
- 1:26:31Speaker 1: to get left behind the scene. Did Yeah, he didn't
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: know he was going to have a number on his shirt.
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: He didn't know that. He didn't know that part, right.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: He was sentenced last month for three years in federal
- 1:26:43Speaker 1: prisons for three years in federal prison for tax evasion,
- 1:26:50Speaker 1: campaign finance violations, and lying to Congress. Before he goes
- 1:26:54Speaker 1: to jail, though, Cohen will testify before the House Oversight Committee,
- 1:26:59Speaker 1: and I'm sure he's gonna spe some more stuff during
- 1:27:02Speaker 1: that test. Shank in two dollars, I love you. Okay,
- 1:27:12Speaker 1: we'll be back with more of again right after this.
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: You're listening, Gladys Knight, we'll sing the national anthem before
- 1:27:25Speaker 1: Super Bowl fifty three. Now, at least they got somebody
- 1:27:28Speaker 1: who can yes, yes, Yes. The Rock and Roll Hall
- 1:27:34Speaker 1: of Famer that is Gladys Knight and seven time Grammy
- 1:27:36Speaker 1: Award winner, will at a hometown connection when the Big

- 1:27:44Speaker 1: Gladys says she's proud to use her voice to unite
- 1:27:47Speaker 1: and represent our country in her hometown of Atlanta. The
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: NFL recently announced their new social justice platform, Inspire Change,
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: and she says she is both honored to be a
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: part of its year old year. She's the latest in
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: a parade of pop legends who sung the anthem at
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: previous Super Bowls that include cher Ritha Franklin, Diana Ross,
- 1:28:08Speaker 1: and Whitney Houston. Did I say Dana Roussa and Diana Ross?
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: She did have ton So, Carlo, you have some more
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: entertainment news from the reality TV world. What's going on
- 1:28:18Speaker 1: with Greg Luke Greg Leaks? Well, you know what, We
- 1:28:23Speaker 1: know that Greg Leaks, Shirley, Tommy Junior, and Jay. He's
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: in the fight for his life, you know. Yeah, and
- 1:28:30Speaker 1: we know that Nini, his wife, has been right there
- 1:28:32Speaker 1: by his side as the battles stage three of colon cancer.
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: But there was something that happened between them. We don't
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: really know what went down between the two of them,
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: but it was bad enough that I guess that Greg
- 1:28:45Speaker 1: felt like he had to go to social media to
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: apologize to Nini. He posted this beautiful picture of his
- 1:28:50Speaker 1: wife with the caption we always hurt the ones we
- 1:28:53Speaker 1: love because they allow us to hurt them rather than
- 1:28:56Speaker 1: snap back. So he went on to say that he's
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: tired of hurting her because she deserves more for her
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: hard efforts and tireless hours spent on me. And then
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: Greg finished up the caption saying, I pray to God
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: to get it together. She's done no wrong. This is
- 1:29:13Speaker 1: all on me. Cancer will change your life, and so
- 1:29:17Speaker 1: he is asked for forgiveness from his wife. Hashtag never
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: been here before and hashtag I'm scared too. So yeah, man,
- 1:29:28Speaker 1: we gotta pray for Greg. Yeah, prayer of healing for
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: Greg and yeah, yeah, cancer is an emotional disease. It's tough.
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: It's tough, but we're praying for the Leaks fan And
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: that's big of him, everything he's going through. He comes
- 1:29:43Speaker 1: back and realizes that he's hurt his wife in some
- 1:29:47Speaker 1: sort of way, and it takes a big man to
- 1:29:50Speaker 1: do that. Yeah, yes, yeah, So acologize publicly, Yeah publicly? Wow,
- 1:29:55Speaker 1: Because I didn't know what was going on. I heard
- 1:29:58Speaker 1: about it and I said, what it's this about? So
- 1:30:00Speaker 1: I got some information about it. So again, people can
- 1:30:03Speaker 1: be very mean and you have to forget Yeah, yes,
- 1:30:06Speaker 1: you know, yeah, And it's just a way to snap out.
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: And if they snap out, that the person that's there,
- 1:30:11Speaker 1: you know, yes, trying to help them. That is so true, Jay,
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: I mean, you know, indication the pain and all of
- 1:30:19Speaker 1: that emotions that they're going through. So you're right, you're right.
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: But we're gonna pray for the leak's family. Have you
- 1:30:24Speaker 1: got this great prayers of healings going up hanging their
- 1:30:27Speaker 1: greg All right, we're gonna switch gears now and national
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: news guys. President Trump has fired back at House Speaker
- 1:30:33Speaker 1: Nancy Pelosi a day after she asked him to postpone
- 1:30:37Speaker 1: the State of the Union speech, citing the strain on
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: security personnel during the government shutdown. Trump has canceled a
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: troop abroad that Pelosi was scheduled to take on a
- 1:30:47Speaker 1: military plane. In a letter to Pelosi, Trump says, due
- 1:30:51Speaker 1: to the shutdown, I am sorry to inform you that
- 1:30:53Speaker 1: your trip to Brussels, Egypt, and Afghanistan has been postponed.
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: We will reschedule a seven day excursion when the shutdown
- 1:31:02Speaker 1: is over. Come on. That's very petty, all right, Coming
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: up our last break of the day, we're going to
- 1:31:12Speaker 1: close out the show you're listening. Here we are last
- 1:31:18Speaker 1: break of the day on this Friday. Steve, what do
- 1:31:21Speaker 1: you have for us? Closing remarks wise today. Yeah, here's
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: something that I think is very helpful to people, and
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: it would to help you open yourself up to really
- 1:31:34Speaker 1: what God truly can have for you. And the reason
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: I'm saying that is because oftentimes we limit what God
- 1:31:42Speaker 1: can do in our lives simply by the way we
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: think and simply by our expectations. God has no He's limitless.
- 1:31:55Speaker 1: You can't put him in a box. You can't put
- 1:31:58Speaker 1: what God can do for you in the parameters of
- 1:32:01Speaker 1: your thinking. What you've got to do is you've got
- 1:32:05Speaker 1: to open up your mind so you can be open
- 1:32:08Speaker 1: to all of His goodness and what He can do
- 1:32:11Speaker 1: for you. And I'm saying that to say this because
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: a lot of times people ask God and only think
- 1:32:21Speaker 1: about stuff that they can see themselves attaining. Basically, with
- 1:32:26Speaker 1: your check, there's a scripture that says you have not
- 1:32:29Speaker 1: because you ask not. Well, then most people go, Lord,
- 1:32:33Speaker 1: help me make my rent. And then I have to
- 1:32:35Speaker 1: ask you, well, don't he always? Why would you not
- 1:32:38Speaker 1: ask God for a mortgage? Well? Become a homeowner. Then
- 1:32:43Speaker 1: here comes the thinking of man when you start putting
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: in stuff like well, I don't make enough money, my
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: credit score, I haven't been on my job long enough.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: I can't afford that. Therefore, why would I sit up
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: and ask for that? See, you, you're knocking yourself out
- 1:33:05Speaker 1: of so many blessings that God can have for you
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: by your limited thinking. Because God has no limits, so
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: you have to open up your mind, so you have
- 1:33:17Speaker 1: to start thinking of things that is in your imagination.
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: Why would you not ask God for a big house?
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: You don't think that God got enough sense based on
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: this scripture. You have not called your ass not Most
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: people don't ask because they don't see no way. Didn't
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: get it. You don't think that if you ask God
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: for a big house, you don't think he got enough
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: sense to make a way for you to get the house.
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: You don't think that he knows that you need more
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: money and that he know how to make a way
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: for you to make more money. You don't think he
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: got that part figured out. You think he needs your
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: help figuring that out. You don't think that he know
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: that if you got X amount of dollars your credit score.
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: Really don't matter you don't think he know that. He
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: know all of that, but you've limited to see what
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: he can do and how you can move in your
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: life because you won't think big enough. That is a
- 1:34:08Speaker 1: book that changed my life. The name of the book
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: is called The Magic of Thinking Big, and it's by
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: David Schwartz. It's the Magic of Thinking Big, and I
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: didn't understand this until I was selling Amway. Amway was
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: one of the greatest periods of my life because it
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: introduced me to positive books. It introduced me to self
- 1:34:33Speaker 1: motivation and self help books, and those are really the
- 1:34:35Speaker 1: only books I read outside of the Bible. I don't
- 1:34:38Speaker 1: read anything. I don't read novels, love stories. Ain't got
- 1:34:41Speaker 1: no time for that. But The Power of Positive Thinking
- 1:34:44Speaker 1: about Norman Vincent Peale, Thinking Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill,
- 1:34:47Speaker 1: The Magic of Thinking Big by David Schwartz. I have
- 1:34:50Speaker 1: time to read that because The Magic of Thinking Big
- 1:34:54Speaker 1: taught me something. It taught me that it does not
- 1:34:57Speaker 1: require any more brain power to think big than it
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: does to think small. It doesn't require anymore You ain't
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: got to grunt. Look, you can say votes Wagon, or
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: you can say Rose Royce. It doesn't your brain. Don't
- 1:35:15Speaker 1: have to shift and burn most sales, and you gotta
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: throw yourself into something to say Rose Royce versus Votswagon.
- 1:35:25Speaker 1: It doesn't hurt more to say rent or mortgage. It
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: doesn't hurt no more to say new card than used car.
- 1:35:35Speaker 1: It doesn't hurt more to say hand me down. Then
- 1:35:39Speaker 1: it cast such, then it cost you to say brand new.
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: If you buy this book, The Magic of Thinking Big
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: by David Schwartz, it's an amazing way. It changed my
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: thinking in my twenties, and so I started thinking big.
- 1:35:52Speaker 1: Once I started thinking big, I started opening up to
- 1:35:56Speaker 1: the possibilities of God. Because God is big? Am I
- 1:35:59Speaker 1: not right? God is big? So why would you get
- 1:36:02Speaker 1: in the way of his bigness with your small mindedness. See,
- 1:36:06Speaker 1: you're getting in the way of your blessings by the
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: way you think. You keep thinking in terms of your paycheck.
- 1:36:12Speaker 1: Get God ain't in your paycheck. Get out of your
- 1:36:15Speaker 1: paycheck man, Get out of your current situations. Where you
- 1:36:19Speaker 1: are is just temporary. God has another place for you.
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: God got a great life for you, but you got
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: to invite him in and let him show it to you.
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: Quit wasting his time with this little bit of man,
- 1:36:33Speaker 1: get out of your own way. You are in your
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: way with your limited thinking. People ask me all the time, man,
- 1:36:42Speaker 1: why are you always at the meetings? Why are you
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: Why don't you just sit out and take your day off?
