- 1:21Speaker 1: Please work with the money making conversations again. Sean Robinson, Hello,
- 1:26Speaker 1: how are you well? John? I'm telling you I'm so
- 1:29Speaker 1: happy to have you back on the show because, first
- 1:32Speaker 1: of all, we've known each other a long time. We've
- 1:34Speaker 1: actually have You've seen each other's careers are in the
- 1:38Speaker 1: public and behind the scenes. Because I've run into New York.
- 1:41Speaker 1: You always engaged in some type of activism. That's that's positive.
- 1:45Speaker 1: And I think that you and I have known each
- 1:47Speaker 1: other for since I came to Los Angeles. I think
- 1:52Speaker 1: that was seriously and that when she when she first
- 1:58Speaker 1: got there and we we made haying this positive relationship,
- 2:01Speaker 1: and uh, whenever we saw Joe was always good vibes
- 2:04Speaker 1: and just to see each other doing our things beyond
- 2:07Speaker 1: what we first met each other. You know, my manager
- 2:10Speaker 1: Steve Harvey's career and yours was access Hollywood. And so
- 2:14Speaker 1: it's all about being able to reinvent yourself. Also being
- 2:16Speaker 1: able to show that there are other your talents can
- 2:18Speaker 1: be explored in other things that you want to do,
- 2:21Speaker 1: and not saying that we weren't doing what we wanted
- 2:23Speaker 1: to do back then. But there's a there's a certain
- 2:25Speaker 1: amount of versatility that you're showing with your career now.
- 2:28Speaker 1: And your platform is really really important to you and
- 2:32Speaker 1: uh and social media is really important to your brand
- 2:35Speaker 1: right now. Correct, absolutely. And you know, remember when I
- 2:38Speaker 1: first started an Act of Hollywood, and you know this
- 2:41Speaker 1: very well, we didn't have social media. We didn't have
- 2:44Speaker 1: Facebook or Twitter, Instagram, um, and so our we were
- 2:50Speaker 1: dependent upon other means to get our messages out. But
- 2:54Speaker 1: now we have control over our own message and we
- 2:57Speaker 1: can um reach the people who sup with us, our
- 3:00Speaker 1: fans are supporters directly. And it's important to you know,
- 3:04Speaker 1: keep that conversation going, keep that engagement going, because these
- 3:07Speaker 1: are the people who have supported us for so long
- 3:09Speaker 1: over the years. And that's really important because you start
- 3:13Speaker 1: to tell your story and and and that's that's really
- 3:16Speaker 1: important because I always tell people that. You know, it
- 3:20Speaker 1: took me a bad when I stopped managing Steve's I
- 3:22Speaker 1: didn't know who I was. I didn't know and people, yeah,
- 3:24Speaker 1: you are your your Can you say that? Because people
- 3:27Speaker 1: will follow you a people who they have to have
- 3:30Speaker 1: a reason, they never have a justification and emotion as
- 3:32Speaker 1: to why they should follow you or like your page,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and they have to be a consistent brand. And so
- 3:38Speaker 1: what was that in your process of building out your
- 3:40Speaker 1: brand and getting your voice together? Sean? Well, you know,
- 3:43Speaker 1: that's interesting that you say that because a lot of
- 3:45Speaker 1: times when we are attached to a name or show,
- 3:51Speaker 1: like I was attached to the show Acts of Hollywood
- 3:54Speaker 1: for sixteen years and so um, there were times when
- 3:59Speaker 1: I say, even before I left, and you know, I
- 4:02Speaker 1: thought about leaving, you know so many times before and
- 4:05Speaker 1: pursuing projects that I was really passionate about, but I
- 4:09Speaker 1: was thinking would I still be who I am without
- 4:12Speaker 1: this name behind me? And you find that when you
- 4:16Speaker 1: do take that leap of faith and you expand, you
- 4:20Speaker 1: are still who you are? Okay, you you were still
- 4:22Speaker 1: who you are and you are still the person that
- 4:25Speaker 1: people connect with. So it's about for me, it was
- 4:30Speaker 1: about stepping out on the fade and learning how I,
- 4:34Speaker 1: you know, continue to build that brand outside of that
- 4:38Speaker 1: particular name. And um, I was even um, you know,
- 4:45Speaker 1: there was a point on um my social media. I said,
- 4:50Speaker 1: let me take that name off of the social media. Okay,
- 4:54Speaker 1: let me take that name off? And can I detach
- 4:57Speaker 1: from that? And that is not to say I am
- 4:58Speaker 1: not grateful. I make dreamely grateful for the wonderful, wonderful
- 5:02Speaker 1: sixteen years that I had with the show. I met
- 5:05Speaker 1: a lot of great people. I met you and so
- 5:07Speaker 1: many other wonderful people through the show. Um, but there
- 5:11Speaker 1: was more to me and I am you know finding
- 5:14Speaker 1: that out now and how do I spread my wings
- 5:16Speaker 1: and how do I step out on face and how
- 5:18Speaker 1: do I make Seawan Robinson the most well grounded person
- 5:24Speaker 1: that she can be? And that that that that's a fear,
- 5:27Speaker 1: and that's fear that I had to overcome. Fear. I'll
- 5:30Speaker 1: put it on me. And because of the fact that
- 5:32Speaker 1: what advice would you give somebody who's sitting at a job,
- 5:35Speaker 1: who's uh in a relationship that it should be they
- 5:38Speaker 1: should get out of Because I always tell people is
- 5:39Speaker 1: more than just a job. When you have to change
- 5:41Speaker 1: your life. You have to change your whole thought process.
- 5:43Speaker 1: Sometimes you're in a bad relationship that just just dragging
- 5:46Speaker 1: you along because you really need to fire or quit,
- 5:49Speaker 1: just like you need to quit that job. What what what?
- 5:52Speaker 1: What advice would you give somebody somebody to make that transition?
- 5:56Speaker 1: Do they plan it out? Do they do? They just
- 5:58Speaker 1: walk away and walk into they ab out? Well, yeah,
- 6:00Speaker 1: and you know it's easy. Listen, let's be real. It's
- 6:03Speaker 1: easy to make a change when you have the resources
- 6:09Speaker 1: to hold you or tied you over, you know, until
- 6:13Speaker 1: you get something else going. I mean, that's that's easy. Um.
- 6:17Speaker 1: But you know, sometimes when it comes to a particular job,
- 6:20Speaker 1: you may feel, gosh, you know, how am I going
- 6:23Speaker 1: to make it in the meantime? And that's the in
- 6:26Speaker 1: the meantime is what you have to overcome in terms
- 6:30Speaker 1: of your fear about what's going to happen. So obviously
- 6:33Speaker 1: you have to be smart, you have to save your money,
- 6:35Speaker 1: you have to be strategic, um. But also you have
- 6:39Speaker 1: to when it comes to you know, listen with me
- 6:43Speaker 1: when it comes to relationships. Um, you know that which
- 6:45Speaker 1: is not serving you is not for your greater good.
- 6:50Speaker 1: And I get my you know, I get my face
- 6:53Speaker 1: from you know, it was you know, I go to
- 6:55Speaker 1: faithf Central Bible Church with Tennessee Omer and and listen
- 7:01Speaker 1: and inod and listen. He's always breaking it down like
- 7:05Speaker 1: there will be something that I'm dealing with and the
- 7:09Speaker 1: answer will come to me if I stop and just
- 7:11Speaker 1: be silent and be still and pray about it. But um,
- 7:17Speaker 1: you know, just with you know, just back to the
- 7:20Speaker 1: job situation. It's about you know what, listen, life is
- 7:24Speaker 1: very short. Um. It seems like every single year I'm
- 7:27Speaker 1: hearing about somebody that I knew, Um, you know no
- 7:31Speaker 1: longer with us. So life is very short. So do
- 7:33Speaker 1: you want to stay in this current situation for the
- 7:37Speaker 1: rest of your life because of fear? Um? And my
- 7:41Speaker 1: answer is always no. Yeah, my my answer answer to
- 7:45Speaker 1: we're on the same page. Now here's the fun part
- 7:47Speaker 1: about social media because because I consider Sean a friend
- 7:51Speaker 1: and just watching her, you know, to your dad picture
- 7:55Speaker 1: on there, and then I see all these others because
- 7:56Speaker 1: you know, your goal is to create engagement and so
- 7:59Speaker 1: use at the BJ recently and your engagement was off
- 8:03Speaker 1: the chain. I was, I was trying, I was trying,
- 8:08Speaker 1: and so so what was your goal just to teach people.
- 8:10Speaker 1: What was the purpose of your post when you went
- 8:13Speaker 1: up there? What was the goals when you went up there,
- 8:15Speaker 1: Here's an event your celebrity, You're going to be around
- 8:18Speaker 1: a media events tied to you, and you know where
- 8:20Speaker 1: you're going to engage with other celebrities when you were posting.
- 8:23Speaker 1: What was the process in your post? Well, I try
- 8:26Speaker 1: to just show people, um Number one, going back to
- 8:30Speaker 1: an h b J. It was in my hometown of Detroit,
- 8:32Speaker 1: so I definitely wanted to be a part of it.
- 8:34Speaker 1: And I have not been in a b J the
- 8:36Speaker 1: National Association of Black Journalist conference in years. I used
- 8:39Speaker 1: to go there at the beginning of my career. You know,
- 8:41Speaker 1: I had my little resume tapes with me and I
- 8:43Speaker 1: would go down to each of the booths and have
- 8:46Speaker 1: the news directors look at my resume tape and shred
- 8:49Speaker 1: them apart, and you know, big people for jobs and
- 8:52Speaker 1: so I hadn't you know, needed to do that in
- 8:55Speaker 1: a very long time. Um, So this was a chance
- 9:00Speaker 1: for me to go back and uh, first of all,
- 9:04Speaker 1: go back home. And I also was asked open or
- 9:07Speaker 1: host the opening night reception for UM for the conference,
- 9:13Speaker 1: which was held on the Tuesday night before the conference began,
- 9:16Speaker 1: and so it was just a wonderful time for me
- 9:18Speaker 1: to connect with people I hadn't seen in a very
- 9:20Speaker 1: very long time. And I always think of an excuse
- 9:24Speaker 1: to go back home to time because I love the
- 9:26Speaker 1: city and the city is on the ride and it's
- 9:29Speaker 1: experiencing a renaissance right now. You know, don't sleep on Detroit, man,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I mean it is. I mean, that is the comeback city.
- 9:36Speaker 1: And so in terms of my post, I wanted to
- 9:39Speaker 1: show people, um, you know, that's what I was doing,
- 9:42Speaker 1: not only connecting with my mom, hanging out with her
- 9:45Speaker 1: and connecting with friends and hanging out with them, but um,
- 9:49Speaker 1: I saw my There was one picture that I posted
- 9:52Speaker 1: of this woman, um Diana Lewis. She was an early
- 9:56Speaker 1: mentor of mine, and mentor in the sense I didn't
- 9:59Speaker 1: never talk to her when I was, you know, coming
- 10:02Speaker 1: up in the business, but I would watch her on
- 10:04Speaker 1: TV and seeing another black woman on TV that looked
- 10:08Speaker 1: like me was so incredibly empowering and gave me hope
- 10:13Speaker 1: that I could accomplish this too. And so when I
- 10:16Speaker 1: saw her, I was like, literally please, I mean I
- 10:21Speaker 1: was like, I like literally screamed. I thought it was
- 10:24Speaker 1: some you know, hughge Hollywood stars of it, because she
- 10:27Speaker 1: was just meant so much to me. So when my
- 10:29Speaker 1: social media, I just let let people know what I'm
- 10:32Speaker 1: going through and you know, showing them people that I
- 10:36Speaker 1: admire and friends I hang out with, and my and
- 10:39Speaker 1: my family. So that's what I try to do. And
- 10:41Speaker 1: I want people to hear that because a lot of
- 10:43Speaker 1: people know why they post. That's the purpose behind the post,
- 10:47Speaker 1: because each post tells me a version of you, and
- 10:50Speaker 1: it gets me more. I look for your post, you know,
- 10:53Speaker 1: look for your story that you're trying to tell about
- 10:55Speaker 1: yourself that day or that week. And that was really
- 10:57Speaker 1: because it was really because the N A b J.
- 11:00Speaker 1: I'm familiar with it, uh, you know. And when it
- 11:02Speaker 1: was in Detroit, you told me you wanted me to
- 11:05Speaker 1: be there. I'm doing right there and you wanted me
- 11:07Speaker 1: to be there right right right. Yes, I want you
- 11:11Speaker 1: to come along on this journey with me. And you know,
- 11:14Speaker 1: it was particularly important, um when my father passed away,
- 11:19Speaker 1: because I would post pictures of my father, uh and
- 11:23Speaker 1: I when we would go to on our birthday vacations
- 11:27Speaker 1: overseas and when he was sick. Um, you know, I
- 11:32Speaker 1: was posting the pictures and something like that, I would
- 11:36Speaker 1: I would normally keep to myself because you know, you
- 11:41Speaker 1: want to. Sometimes we feel like we have to always
- 11:45Speaker 1: put forth this image of everything absolutely perfect in my life,
- 11:49Speaker 1: everything's going great. But then when um, I brought people
- 11:55Speaker 1: into that journey with me, I know, because because because
- 11:59Speaker 1: you brought me into it, and and and that emotional side,
- 12:02Speaker 1: this handsome man and you know, and and and how
- 12:05Speaker 1: what he meant to you and just in a photo,
- 12:08Speaker 1: you know, just to love, which was incredible and one
- 12:11Speaker 1: of the reasons I reached back out to Sean. They
- 12:14Speaker 1: told my staff, I said, look, I gotta get shown
- 12:16Speaker 1: back onto my show. She's on fire. I said, yeah.
- 12:22Speaker 1: They were throwing out all these no no, please call
- 12:24Speaker 1: her now so we can get her back on the show.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Because when she come, when we come back, we got
- 12:28Speaker 1: to talk about this crazy show. Naty Dave fiance God Happily.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Ever after, when you were posting it and I see
- 12:37Speaker 1: Naty day, I thought he was saying finance. I say,
- 12:42Speaker 1: I'm thinking of money, your money main conversations. So when
- 12:45Speaker 1: I initially saw it, I went show she told a
- 12:47Speaker 1: ninety day finance and then I started seeing the commercially.
- 12:50Speaker 1: I go, oh my god, this crazy show. I gotta
- 12:54Speaker 1: gotta talking about the big project you're doing with Bishop TV.
- 12:56Speaker 1: Jake's oh that we'll come back on the next break,
- 12:58Speaker 1: don't go nowhere and adible. Sean Robinson, thank you for
- 13:02Speaker 1: calling on my show. Keep winning everybody, We'll be right back. Okay,
- 13:06Speaker 1: money making conversations. I'm back this Rashan McDonald and we
- 13:09Speaker 1: just uh, we're talking about some of the projects that
- 13:12Speaker 1: Sean Robinson is involved in. We talked about the great
- 13:15Speaker 1: experience of going back to Troy and the n A
- 13:17Speaker 1: b J experience of just telling her story to towards storytelling.
- 13:21Speaker 1: Our social media is allowing both of us to build
- 13:25Speaker 1: our rebuild our brands in the direction that we feel
- 13:28Speaker 1: that we're controlling and we're dictating, and we're telling our
- 13:31Speaker 1: story and having fun at it, fun with it. Now,
- 13:34Speaker 1: here's the funny thing about it. Your mind sometimes will
- 13:37Speaker 1: only allow you to understand what it wants you to understand.
- 13:40Speaker 1: She would post, She'd be sitting down and on this
- 13:44Speaker 1: on the screen it will say ninety day fiance. I
- 13:47Speaker 1: for the life of me, thought it was ninety day finance.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I go day finance. I said, what does this show
- 13:52Speaker 1: ninty day find finally starts seeing the commercials ninety Day
- 13:56Speaker 1: Fiance happily ever after, now you what do you do?
- 14:01Speaker 1: You your host like a pot show? What's going on?
- 14:04Speaker 1: Because I know that I know it's not about money.
- 14:06Speaker 1: It's about the incredible reality show about these couples who
- 14:10Speaker 1: get together. Tell the world about nine. So ninety day well,
- 14:17Speaker 1: ninety Day Fiance is one of TLC's most popular shows.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So it is based on, um, you know a law.
- 14:26Speaker 1: So if you go to overseas somewhere. Let's just say
- 14:30Speaker 1: you go on vacation to Russia, all right, and you
- 14:33Speaker 1: meet the love of your life and you want to
- 14:35Speaker 1: bring them back here to the United States and get married, Well,
- 14:37Speaker 1: you have to apply for a K one visa and
- 14:40Speaker 1: once you apply, once you get it, you have ninety
- 14:43Speaker 1: days in which to get married. That's the law. So
- 14:46Speaker 1: what TLC has done is they have followed people on
- 14:49Speaker 1: their path to getting the K one visa and finding
- 14:52Speaker 1: the love of their life overseas. Well. My my mother
- 14:55Speaker 1: was a fan of the show and TLC asked me
- 14:59Speaker 1: to hope. A few years ago, they asked me to
- 15:02Speaker 1: host one of the reunion shows where all the couples
- 15:04Speaker 1: come back on the set, and I've like, I had
- 15:07Speaker 1: never heard of it before, and I you know, they
- 15:10Speaker 1: sent me a couple of links to the show, and
- 15:12Speaker 1: I was like, wow, this is kind of crazy. I said, Okay,
- 15:13Speaker 1: I said fine, I'll do it. I said that I'll
- 15:15Speaker 1: do it. Nobody, nobody will see this anyway. I did it,
- 15:20Speaker 1: and I quickly found out it was one of the
- 15:24Speaker 1: most fan obsessed shows ever a TLC like they had.
- 15:30Speaker 1: The show is so popular that they now have three
- 15:34Speaker 1: and I think you have three spinoffs. So they have
- 15:38Speaker 1: Fiance that's the main one they have before the ninety Days,
- 15:42Speaker 1: which is following people meeting their loved one for the
- 15:44Speaker 1: first time. They have after Happily ever After, which is
- 15:48Speaker 1: after they get married. And then they just started one
- 15:52Speaker 1: called The Other Way Around, where the Americans go to
- 15:56Speaker 1: the foreign country to live as opposed to the foreigner.
- 15:59Speaker 1: So the um I rashan listen. I was on Access
- 16:03Speaker 1: Hollywood for sixteen years, okay, sixteen years. People. I will
- 16:08Speaker 1: have people come up to me. I can't tell you
- 16:10Speaker 1: the number of people who who have come up to
- 16:12Speaker 1: me today, UM to say, wow, you know you look familiar,
- 16:17Speaker 1: and I'll go, oh, you know Access Hollywood. They'll go,
- 16:20Speaker 1: no, no no, no, no no, that's not it, that's not it.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Ninety days Fiance. The show is is absolutely I mean it.
- 16:29Speaker 1: It's so popular. The reunion show that I just did
- 16:33Speaker 1: got like a two point to five rating, And to
- 16:37Speaker 1: your audience that might not mean that much, but what
- 16:41Speaker 1: that means is, um like two million two TLC. Now
- 16:48Speaker 1: let me just give you a comparison. Um Like, on
- 16:52Speaker 1: an average day, um, a show like Access Hollywood will
- 16:57Speaker 1: get a one five okay, and for which is great,
- 17:03Speaker 1: which is that's great. But for this show on TLC
- 17:07Speaker 1: to get you know, almost, it's you know, one and
- 17:12Speaker 1: a half times they're almost, It's absolutely insane. So I
- 17:17Speaker 1: keep doing it because my mother is such a super
- 17:20Speaker 1: fan of the show. It's not financial, right, so it's
- 17:28Speaker 1: super popular. The couples get on there and the drama ensues,
- 17:31Speaker 1: and what I try to do is bring some you know,
- 17:35Speaker 1: some calm and some class and some sophistication the craziness.
- 17:41Speaker 1: That's why I think it works with you because we
- 17:43Speaker 1: know your history and we know you've been around major stars,
- 17:46Speaker 1: politician dignitaries, and then we dropped this princess in this madness,
- 17:53Speaker 1: because what did imagine this? What's the difference between them
- 17:56Speaker 1: and a mailed all the bride's is that close? Let's
- 18:02Speaker 1: see a male or you know, some of the um
- 18:07Speaker 1: men on the show have been accused of basically getting
- 18:11Speaker 1: a male order bride. Now, the women who are coming
- 18:15Speaker 1: from overseas, they take offense to that term. They say,
- 18:18Speaker 1: they really are falling in love with this person from
- 18:21Speaker 1: America and they're not coming over to the States just
- 18:24Speaker 1: to get a green card, but they want to live
- 18:26Speaker 1: with person. And obviously each story, um, the audience is
- 18:31Speaker 1: critiquing every single story. And I just did another show
- 18:35Speaker 1: that's going to air probably in a couple of months,
- 18:38Speaker 1: and it is just it's rashan, It's just so crazy.
- 18:42Speaker 1: I mean, it's nothing, but at the heart of it,
- 18:45Speaker 1: here's the thing. At the heart of it. These people
- 18:47Speaker 1: are looking for love. You know, at least for the
- 18:50Speaker 1: Americans who are going off these things, they really are
- 18:53Speaker 1: looking for love. And now do are they going about
- 18:56Speaker 1: it in the best way possible? You know, that's up
- 18:58Speaker 1: for debate. But um you know, you you try to
- 19:01Speaker 1: cheer for people, but there are some situations where you
- 19:05Speaker 1: go do. What were you thinking? Now? The crazy The
- 19:11Speaker 1: thing I like about your career now because it's like
- 19:15Speaker 1: it's so versatile, you're doing what you want to do.
- 19:17Speaker 1: We go from Nata Dave fiance happening out there over
- 19:21Speaker 1: to Bishop TV Jake's a Lifetime you know. You go
- 19:24Speaker 1: from Nati Day's fiance TLC tell us about the project,
- 19:30Speaker 1: you knowing Bishop TV Jake's all life time executive producer.
- 19:34Speaker 1: By the way, yes, I'm executive producing, which is a huge,
- 19:38Speaker 1: huge blessing for me because I've never been in the
- 19:41Speaker 1: position of executive producer before and to be aligned with T. D.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Jake's is absolutely absolutely incredible and with Lifetime. So basically
- 19:52Speaker 1: what happened was I optioned the rights to a book,
- 19:56Speaker 1: a series of books by author of Victoria Christopher Murray,
- 20:00Speaker 1: who who if the body in your audience is a delta,
- 20:03Speaker 1: she is. She's a dolt and she's an amazing, amazing author.
- 20:09Speaker 1: She wrote a book called Lust, and when Lust came out,
- 20:13Speaker 1: it was the first in her seven Deadly Sins series.
- 20:17Speaker 1: I optioned all of the books, so Lust and Degreed, Pride, Gluttony,
- 20:22Speaker 1: Slop and Wrath so um. I had pitched these two
- 20:26Speaker 1: different networks and two different production companies, including Lifetime. At
- 20:31Speaker 1: the time they were interested, but then the talks just
- 20:34Speaker 1: didn't really go anywhere. In the meantime, Bishop Jake's does
- 20:39Speaker 1: Faith under Fire with Tony Braxton on Lifetime that did
- 20:43Speaker 1: amazing ratings for the network and they wanted to be
- 20:46Speaker 1: back in business with T. D. Jakes, so they asked
- 20:49Speaker 1: him if he had any other projects. Well, he remembered
- 20:52Speaker 1: the Seven Deadly Sins that I had pitched to him before,
- 20:54Speaker 1: and he was like, okay, gets on Robinson on the phone,
- 20:57Speaker 1: and you know, and then the ours aligned Jake's on
- 21:02Speaker 1: back to Lifetime that we would love to do the
- 21:04Speaker 1: Seven Deadly Sins. Lifetime remember the project from when I
- 21:09Speaker 1: pitched it to them and they were like, oh, this
- 21:11Speaker 1: is amazing. You know. Then the collaboration is fantastic. So
- 21:15Speaker 1: now we are in the process. We have writers for
- 21:18Speaker 1: the first three books, Lust Indian Gred, they're writing the scripts. Um.
- 21:22Speaker 1: And then after that, you know, I'm in the position
- 21:24Speaker 1: of helping with picking actresses and directors and you know,
- 21:30Speaker 1: locations and all of that. And it is such a
- 21:33Speaker 1: new world for me, and what a blessing that, um,
- 21:38Speaker 1: you know, we're we've got you know, there's a potential
- 21:42Speaker 1: of us doing seven movies, and here it is. I
- 21:44Speaker 1: was just pitching one project and possibly having seven movies
- 21:48Speaker 1: as an executive producer with TV Jake's and Lifetime is
- 21:53Speaker 1: just it's it's absolutely incredible. I sometimes still have to
- 21:56Speaker 1: pinch myself, Well, we're thinking about it. I love that's
- 21:58Speaker 1: the part of it. Sometimes when you make these changes
- 22:01Speaker 1: in your life, it doesn't happen overnight. I tell you,
- 22:03Speaker 1: Sean McDonald saying, we'll tell you it doesn't happen overnight.
- 22:06Speaker 1: But would you keep pressing based on that same natural
- 22:09Speaker 1: ability and success that you build with access Harleywood? And
- 22:12Speaker 1: that's what you're doing right now. And I'll be remiss
- 22:14Speaker 1: if I don't talk about something that is dear to
- 22:17Speaker 1: me whenever I get you on the phone or meet
- 22:19Speaker 1: you in person. Is the Shawn Foundation. Please tell us
- 22:22Speaker 1: what's going on with it? And uh, let everybody know
- 22:24Speaker 1: exactly what it is, yes, Sean. Foundation for Girls is
- 22:28Speaker 1: a passion of mind. As you know, for a long time,
- 22:31Speaker 1: I've been in the space of girls empowerment and so
- 22:34Speaker 1: I started my foundation a few years ago. And what
- 22:37Speaker 1: we do is we support small grassroots nonprofits that are
- 22:42Speaker 1: doing work in five key areas of girls issues. And
- 22:44Speaker 1: those five key areas are represented by the acronym of
- 22:47Speaker 1: my name s H A U N so as it
- 22:49Speaker 1: is for stem science technology, entering a map, it's just
- 22:52Speaker 1: for health as arts you is unity meaning bridge and
- 22:56Speaker 1: girls here with girls across the world, and is for
- 22:58Speaker 1: neighborhoods helping girls in on women in underserved neighborhood. So
- 23:01Speaker 1: if there is a nonprofit that is doing work in
- 23:03Speaker 1: one of those five key areas, we would possibly be
- 23:06Speaker 1: a resource for them. We just recently did a human
- 23:09Speaker 1: trafficking I was very blessed to get a grant several
- 23:12Speaker 1: grants from the Ford Motor Company. And we just recently
- 23:15Speaker 1: held our third human trafficking event on the campus of
- 23:18Speaker 1: my alma mates, Spellman College in Atlanta, and and it
- 23:24Speaker 1: was We had a number of the students come out
- 23:27Speaker 1: um and participate in the discussion parents and it was
- 23:32Speaker 1: it was just absolutely incredible to have this panel of
- 23:35Speaker 1: experts talking to girls about how to stay safe and
- 23:40Speaker 1: um not get lured into the sex trafficking industry. We
- 23:45Speaker 1: are going to do two more events, one on the
- 23:48Speaker 1: campus of Fisk and another on the campus of Texas Southern.
- 23:53Speaker 1: So that's what we are gearing up to do. And
- 23:56Speaker 1: it's about just taking this message all around the country
- 23:58Speaker 1: to to connect with as many girls as we can
- 24:01Speaker 1: because this this industry is um it is Lauren girls
- 24:07Speaker 1: into the sex trade, and that's not a lot of
- 24:09Speaker 1: times they don't even know they're being lured into it.
- 24:11Speaker 1: So that's what we that's that's one of our missions
- 24:14Speaker 1: right now. That's just one of the missions. That's what
- 24:17Speaker 1: we're looking at. Now. We look at you on Fire,
- 24:20Speaker 1: your good friend of mine, and thank you for responding
- 24:23Speaker 1: so quickly to come on the show again to tell
- 24:25Speaker 1: everybody about some of the things you're doing. But the
- 24:28Speaker 1: base of who you are, you are a role model
- 24:31Speaker 1: and I want to thank everybody from now your role
- 24:33Speaker 1: model as an executive producer. Then everybody knows that you
- 24:36Speaker 1: can transition and do things positively, go out on faith,
- 24:39Speaker 1: go with a plan, and you'll keep winning. Sean, Thank
- 24:42Speaker 1: you for calling my show. Thank you for Sean. Okay,
- 24:45Speaker 1: love me, Hun Bye bye, keep winning, everybody. We'll be
