- 0:31Speaker 5: about his background, including a recent altercation with Ice that
- 0:35Speaker 5: broke his rib allegedly. Also, Tom Holman, he's in the
- 0:39Speaker 5: fight now in Minneapolis, and he's also taking on the media,
- 0:43Speaker 5: calling them out for many of the lies they're telling.
- 0:45Speaker 5: We have that for you as well. Before we get

- 1:18Speaker 5: to one. That's eight six six six seven nine seven
- 1:22Speaker 5: eight seven to one. It's the forty seven Morning Update,
- 1:26Speaker 5: and it starts right now.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Story number one.
- 1:29Speaker 5: Alex Freddy. You may remember him as the guy that
- 1:32Speaker 5: was shot by Ice after there was a physical encounter.
- 1:36Speaker 5: We're now learning a lot more about the individual, including
- 1:39Speaker 5: the fact that he had a broken rib wine in
- 1:43Speaker 5: another physical encounter during anti ICE protests just a week
- 1:48Speaker 5: before he was shot. He was also quote known to
- 1:53Speaker 5: federal law enforcement before he was fatally shot. And not
- 1:56Speaker 5: only did he have a broken rib during that physical
- 1:58Speaker 5: altercation with ICE agents a week before he was killed
- 2:01Speaker 5: by board patrol on Saturday. Sources are now confirming Preddy
- 2:06Speaker 5: had a quote physical encounter with federal agents about a
- 2:09Speaker 5: week before he was shot and killed by law enforcement
- 2:12Speaker 5: his house. CNN is now reporting it as well. Here's
- 2:15Speaker 5: part of what they had to say as they were
- 2:17Speaker 5: telling their audience what had happened.
- 2:20Speaker 6: And it is learning that Alex Pretty had a physical
- 2:22Speaker 6: encounter with federal agents about a week before he was
- 2:25Speaker 6: shot and killed by law enforcement. Sources tell CNN that
- 2:29Speaker 6: Pretty broke a rib when a group of federal officers
- 2:32Speaker 6: tackled him while he was protesting. Priscilla Alvarez is breaking
- 2:36Speaker 6: that story for us. What else are you hearing, Priscilla.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Dan, I we're learning more details along with my colleague
- 2:42Speaker 1: Jeff Winter about what exactly transpired a week before Alex
- 2:46Speaker 1: Pretty was shot in Minneapolis and died this past weekend. Now,
- 2:50Speaker 1: in this earlier incident, he stopped his car after observing
- 2:55Speaker 1: Ice agents chasing what he described as a family on foot,
- 2:59Speaker 1: and began shouting and blowing his whistle. Pretty later told
- 3:03Speaker 1: one of these sources that five agents tackled him and
- 3:06Speaker 1: one leaned on his pat on his back, appearing to
- 3:10Speaker 1: leave him with a broken rib. According to this source,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and I'm quoting here that said quote that day, he
- 3:16Speaker 1: thought he was going to die. Now, Preddi was later
- 3:20Speaker 1: given medication that is consistent with treating a broken rib,
- 3:23Speaker 1: according to records were viewed by CNN. Versus also say
- 3:27Speaker 1: that he was known to federal law enforcement, though it's
- 3:30Speaker 1: unclear whether it was this incident or another with federal
- 3:34Speaker 1: agents that they knew him they knew of him. It's
- 3:38Speaker 1: also unclear whether the officers who tackled him on Saturday
- 3:42Speaker 1: knew who he was. We do know, however, is that
- 3:45Speaker 1: federal immigration officers have been collecting personal information of protesters
- 3:50Speaker 1: and agitators within the context of the Department of Homeland
- 3:54Speaker 1: Security has warned is repeated threats towards officers as they
- 3:58Speaker 1: are conducting immigration enforcement operations. In fact, just Tuesday, the
- 4:02Speaker 1: department also publicized an online tip form to share information
- 4:05Speaker 1: about people allegedly harassing ICE officers. We've also heard Tom
- 4:10Speaker 1: Holman the White House borders are say that a database
- 4:12Speaker 1: would be created for those who are arrested for impeding
- 4:16Speaker 1: law enforcement. But thus far, in our queries whose department
- 4:19Speaker 1: fal Land Security, they have said that no such database exists.
- 4:24Speaker 5: Now here's the question whose side is seeing it on?
- 4:27Speaker 2: There?
- 4:28Speaker 5: Is it the side of the protester that attacked law enforcement,
- 4:32Speaker 5: Because if you listen to how they just report that news,
- 4:36Speaker 5: they want you to feel sorry for the man who
- 4:38Speaker 5: had a broken rib. Now, this incident unfolded after Preddy
- 4:41Speaker 5: stopped his car upon observing ICE agents chasing a family
- 4:46Speaker 5: on foot and got involved by protesting their attempt to
- 4:50Speaker 5: detain the other individuals. Now, of course he didn't know,
- 4:53Speaker 5: we would assume what those people were being chased for right.
- 4:56Speaker 5: What crimes they may have committed doesn't matter, because when
- 4:59Speaker 5: you you want to go to war with ICE agents
- 5:01Speaker 5: like this man did before and was doing it again,
- 5:05Speaker 5: this is exactly what you can expect from the radical left.
- 5:09Speaker 5: He was again tackled by US immigration and Constant Enforcement
- 5:13Speaker 5: agents and later claimed that one of the officers had
- 5:15Speaker 5: leaned on his back, leaving him with a quote broken
- 5:18Speaker 5: rib that day he thought he was going to die.
- 5:20Speaker 5: You heard in that interview there. Well, did he really
- 5:24Speaker 5: think he was going to die? Because if you did,
- 5:26Speaker 5: would you show up and do it all over again
- 5:29Speaker 5: days later? Think about that? The source of course that
- 5:33Speaker 5: CNN has also added that Pretty's name was already known
- 5:37Speaker 5: to federal agents by the time he was fatally shot
- 5:40Speaker 5: in Minneapolis. Okay, that brings up another question, how do
- 5:44Speaker 5: they know about you? How often were you doing this?
- 5:47Speaker 5: How often were you involved? Now it remains unclear the
- 5:51Speaker 5: federal agents who encountered Preddy on Saturday new or recognized
- 5:56Speaker 5: him before the scuffle and the ultimate that ultimately led
- 5:59Speaker 5: to the thirty seven year old's death. In its report,
- 6:02Speaker 5: you may have noticed their CNN said he had a
- 6:04Speaker 5: gun in his waistband during Saturday's brawl. Yes, bright bart
- 6:11Speaker 5: News also reported the limited facts available at the time
- 6:14Speaker 5: of Saturay's fatal shooting of Preddy by a Border Patrol
- 6:17Speaker 5: agent that so far have not been disputed, indicate he
- 6:22Speaker 5: was armed during the struggle that led up to the shooting.
- 6:25Speaker 5: So another example of you know, the media just not
- 6:28Speaker 5: wanting to actually talk about the real issue here. Moreover,
- 6:32Speaker 5: the CBP use of force policy is grounded in constitutional
- 6:36Speaker 5: law as interpreted by the federal courts, and requires any
- 6:40Speaker 5: use of force be objectively reasonable based on the circumstances
- 6:44Speaker 5: as the agent perceived them at the moment force was applied. Now,
- 6:50Speaker 5: this standard is determined by what the agent knew or
- 6:53Speaker 5: perceived when he pulled the trigger, not by public opinion,
- 6:57Speaker 5: certainly not the media or the influence by politicians, nor
- 7:02Speaker 5: by a retrospective onerous review of slow motion video footage.
- 7:08Speaker 5: The policy states that any time an agent has a
- 7:10Speaker 5: reasonable belief a person poses an imminent danger of death
- 7:16Speaker 5: or serious physical injury to the agent or another person,
- 7:20Speaker 5: the primary hurdle for using deadly forces cleared and the
- 7:24Speaker 5: action is authorized. Now, the US Department of Home in
- 7:28Speaker 5: Security has repeatedly warrned of threats against federal agents during
- 7:32Speaker 5: immigration enforcement operations, saying this, when our law enforcement encounters
- 7:38Speaker 5: a violent agitator who is breaking the law, obstructing law enforcement,
- 7:43Speaker 5: or assaulting them, our law enforcement make records to advance prosecution.
- 7:49Speaker 5: That coming from the DHS Assistant Secretary of Tristia McLaughlin.
- 7:52Speaker 5: This is not groundbreaking, it is standard protocol. So when
- 7:56Speaker 5: you hear the stories about this individual, just know he
- 8:00Speaker 5: had a history of going after ICE agents even a
- 8:05Speaker 5: week before. And remember many in the media are still
- 8:08Speaker 5: not talking about the fact that the man was armed
- 8:11Speaker 5: during the encounter.
- 8:13Speaker 4: Now story number two.
- 8:14Speaker 5: The mainstream media stunned into silence as the White House
- 8:18Speaker 5: Press Secretary had to remind them that Barack Obama actually
- 8:23Speaker 5: awarded a medal to the man they hate the most
- 8:26Speaker 5: right now that's just been deployed to Minnesota, Tom Holman.
- 8:29Speaker 5: Here is what she had to say from the White
- 8:31Speaker 5: House podium, reminding them that you guys are saying you
- 8:34Speaker 5: hate Tom. Well, guess how he got so big. It
- 8:38Speaker 5: was actually because of Barack Obamack.
- 8:41Speaker 7: This is a Washington Post headline from nine years ago,
- 8:44Speaker 7: twenty sixteen. Meet the man the White House is honored
- 8:47Speaker 7: for deporting illegal immigrants. And I would remind everyone in
- 8:50Speaker 7: this room that it was former President Barack Hussein Obama
- 8:53Speaker 7: who awarded a medal to mister Homan, so he's obviously
- 8:56Speaker 7: very qualified. He has the full trust and faith of
- 8:58Speaker 7: the President. Will continue to have these meetings in.
- 9:01Speaker 8: The hopes that weak ice and local law enforcement can
- 9:05Speaker 8: cooperate and work together to have successful immigration enforcement, as
- 9:09Speaker 8: we've seen in almost every other state across the country.
- 9:12Speaker 5: Now you listen to the White House press Hereteria there
- 9:15Speaker 5: reminding the press room of what they were writing about
- 9:19Speaker 5: Tom Homan when he was connected to Barack Obama. And
- 9:22Speaker 5: it's not just that. Let me also remind you of
- 9:24Speaker 5: what Barack Obama actually had to say in twenty ten
- 9:28Speaker 5: on this entire issue. Here's the President in his own
- 9:31Speaker 5: words back in twenty ten.
- 9:34Speaker 2: There are those in the immigrants rights community who have
- 9:37Speaker 2: argued passionately that we should simply provide those who are
- 9:42Speaker 2: illegally with legal status, or at least ignore the laws
- 9:47Speaker 2: on the books, and put an end to deportation until
- 9:50Speaker 2: we have better laws. And often this argument is framed
- 9:53Speaker 2: in moral terms. Why should we punish people who are
- 9:57Speaker 2: just trying to earn a living. I reckon nice the
- 10:01Speaker 2: sense of compassion that drives this argument, but I believe
- 10:05Speaker 2: such an indiscriminate approach would be both unwise and unfair.
- 10:09Speaker 2: It would suggest to those thinking about coming here illegally
- 10:13Speaker 2: that there will be no repercussions for such a decision,
- 10:17Speaker 2: and this could lead to a surge in more illegal immigration.
- 10:23Speaker 2: And it would also ignore the millions of people around
- 10:25Speaker 2: the world who are waiting in line to come here legally. Ultimately,
- 10:31Speaker 2: our nation, like all nations, has the right and obligation
- 10:36Speaker 2: to control its borders and set laws for residency and citizenship.
- 10:42Speaker 2: And no matter how decent they are, no matter their reasons,
- 10:47Speaker 2: the eleven million who broke these laws should be held accountable.
- 10:51Speaker 5: The eleven million. He used that number back in twenty ten,
- 10:57Speaker 5: said they should be held accountable. President Obama shooting down
- 11:02Speaker 5: the whole stop deportations and just let the illegal immigrants be,
- 11:07Speaker 5: you know, turn into American citizens. He's saying, no back then. Now,
- 11:13Speaker 5: that's the most important part of the conversation is that
- 11:17Speaker 5: you actually have this. It is truly truly incredible.
