- 1:57Speaker 1: are you doing Come on? Not Ryan? You can come
- 1:59Speaker 1: your your TV host, man, come on your TV Okay, okay,
- 2:02Speaker 1: come on. I'm proud to be here on the money
- 2:05Speaker 1: making conversations, talking about getting the money and talking about
- 2:08Speaker 1: building business, talking about building business relationships. I'm proud of
- 2:12Speaker 1: being there. You go saying, because I saw I saw you,
- 2:16Speaker 1: I saw your show. We're gonna talk about that, But
- 2:18Speaker 1: I want to talk about this show. I always talk
- 2:20Speaker 1: about this about dreams. And you know, I read your
- 2:24Speaker 1: backstory from from a small college, and you always seems
- 2:28Speaker 1: like you always had to prove yourself. Keep proving yourself.
- 2:32Speaker 1: Am I am I corrective when I read your bio. Yeah, yeah,
- 2:36Speaker 1: basically always, you know, as a undrest to free agent,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you know, coming from a small school, I always had
- 2:41Speaker 1: to prove myself. I had to prove myself transferrom from
- 2:45Speaker 1: one school to the other, and I had to prove
- 2:46Speaker 1: myself each time, every cam and every season. Actually, now
- 2:52Speaker 1: does that get frustrated into it? Just say, hey, man,
- 2:55Speaker 1: I know it does for me sometimes when I'm out
- 2:56Speaker 1: there going, Can somebody just give me a deal? I'm talented?
- 2:59Speaker 1: Can so abouy just give me a loan? Just just
- 3:01Speaker 1: give me one of the deals I see in the
- 3:03Speaker 1: TV in the TV and section, give me one of
- 3:07Speaker 1: those all you know, Sean d Ryme deals or something
- 3:10Speaker 1: like that. So I could just sit back and be happy.
- 3:12Speaker 1: So so because that's what you want, you do. You know,
- 3:15Speaker 1: your God has giving you, has blessed you with a talent.
- 3:18Speaker 1: You want to live this talent. But there's competition out there.
- 3:22Speaker 1: What what keeps you going? I'd be real she like
- 3:26Speaker 1: how you were saying, if I was to just get
- 3:28Speaker 1: something handed to me, it wouldn't really mean much. Um,
- 3:33Speaker 1: you know, I do already take handouts. I never got
- 3:36Speaker 1: handouts like within life. You know, every every stepping stone,
- 3:42Speaker 1: every achievement that I've ever gotten, I had to work
- 3:45Speaker 1: really hard towards it. So everything that I ever achieved
- 3:50Speaker 1: that always meant a lot for me just because I
- 3:52Speaker 1: had to work so hard just to gain it, you know,
- 3:55Speaker 1: like I was. For example, when I was in college,
- 3:58Speaker 1: I ended up becoming um like All American my junior
- 4:03Speaker 1: year at my position, and you know that was the
- 4:07Speaker 1: first big year I had. But I used to put
- 4:09Speaker 1: in so much work either stay after practice about like
- 4:12Speaker 1: thirty minutes after after each practice. So you know, just
- 4:17Speaker 1: over time, all that hard work paid off me being
- 4:20Speaker 1: undrafted and then actually making a roster That was huge
- 4:24Speaker 1: for me because you know I was that was a
- 4:27Speaker 1: backup for so long. You know, I never got too
- 4:30Speaker 1: much play time, but then when I got my time
- 4:32Speaker 1: to shine, I put on You know, well, I'm proud
- 4:35Speaker 1: of myself. Well you should be. You should be because
- 4:37Speaker 1: a lot of people allow I call those stop sizes
- 4:40Speaker 1: a roadblocks or uh. People will tell you they've been
- 4:44Speaker 1: once you move on, won't you give up? Dude? What
- 4:48Speaker 1: you find? Something else told you? Why are you changing
- 4:49Speaker 1: their dream? That dream makes your dream? And there's a
- 4:52Speaker 1: lot of doubters out there. How do you hand with
- 4:55Speaker 1: people who question your motivation of question your career path? Yeah?
- 5:01Speaker 1: I mean, you know, for me, I look at it
- 5:03Speaker 1: like this, I'm gonna put everything into this game that
- 5:07Speaker 1: I that I'm playing, or any any any trying to
- 5:11Speaker 1: any kind of goal that I'm trying to achieve. I'm
- 5:13Speaker 1: gonna put everything into it just because I don't want
- 5:16Speaker 1: to look back and be like I should have done this,
- 5:19Speaker 1: I should have done that. Um, I should have never
- 5:21Speaker 1: fed into the people that doubted me. You know people
- 5:24Speaker 1: that it's always people want that's gonna doubt you, whether
- 5:27Speaker 1: you're doing good or bad. You know, it's it's somebody.
- 5:31Speaker 1: There's somebody that's gonna always have something negative to say,
- 5:34Speaker 1: but I try to just tune them out, just because
- 5:36Speaker 1: at the end of the day, the majority of people
- 5:38Speaker 1: that doubt you, they're not even close to your level.
- 5:41Speaker 1: They're not even trying to do anything on on your level.
- 5:44Speaker 1: So it's like, like, what's the point of paying attention
- 5:46Speaker 1: to somebody that's achieved half of what you what you
- 5:49Speaker 1: have already gotten. M h. And it's important because I
- 5:53Speaker 1: remember when I was doing stand up comedy and people
- 5:58Speaker 1: you funny, you reach your pride fund? Fun How are
- 6:03Speaker 1: you gonna how are you gonna How are you gonna
- 6:04Speaker 1: tell a joke? What are you gonna tell jokes? And
- 6:06Speaker 1: they guess what, I'm just gonna do it? How about that?
- 6:09Speaker 1: How about that? But let me just because you don't
- 6:12Speaker 1: just because you want to be a mechanic is what
- 6:13Speaker 1: you want to do this, just because you want to
- 6:15Speaker 1: work at our being forever. Let me go do my thing.
- 6:17Speaker 1: And you have to push people off, and then when
- 6:20Speaker 1: you push them off, you better go do it. Yeah,
- 6:24Speaker 1: you know the same people want to just you know,
- 6:26Speaker 1: celebrate you when you come a right and tell us
- 6:30Speaker 1: the truth. Now, come on, come on, what they want?
- 6:34Speaker 1: Give us some tickets, Give us some tickets. Yeah, that's
- 6:37Speaker 1: how they do that. They do you and all of
- 6:40Speaker 1: a sime, when you make it to the you know,
- 6:43Speaker 1: the big the big time games and everything, they're the
- 6:46Speaker 1: same ones asking for tickets. And that's all right. And
- 6:48Speaker 1: I tell people that doesn't bother me because that's what
- 6:51Speaker 1: life is. Life. This offers you no guarantees. People life
- 6:54Speaker 1: off and so when people when you reach the success,
- 6:57Speaker 1: even your daughters, you should you should celebrate that. I
- 6:59Speaker 1: used is my motivation. If everybody passed you in back
- 7:02Speaker 1: and tell you we're gonna be great, I think somewhere
- 7:04Speaker 1: along online you wouldn't understand that there's somebody out they're
- 7:07Speaker 1: pushing you from your opportunity. And so that's how I
- 7:10Speaker 1: always view it, and that's why I always understand that
- 7:13Speaker 1: you can do whatever you want to do. Like I
- 7:15Speaker 1: was reading your bio that Ryan, you want to be
- 7:17Speaker 1: a model too. That's why I read that too. You
- 7:20Speaker 1: won't do a little bit, You wanta do some modeling
- 7:22Speaker 1: here and not come on tell me about that. Now,
- 7:25Speaker 1: let's slide over there, muscle man, come on that, or
- 7:27Speaker 1: you're taking your shirt off, Ryan, or you're just gonna
- 7:29Speaker 1: be a clothed model. What's gonna do You're gonna do? What?
- 7:32Speaker 1: What kind of modeling you're doing? Big dog? Yeah, So
- 7:35Speaker 1: I'm in the fashion you know, I love I love um,
- 7:41Speaker 1: I mean, thinking my shirt off. I wouldn't. I don't know.
- 7:43Speaker 1: I'm not for it too much, but I'm not. I'm
- 7:46Speaker 1: not that that's but that's like come on that. Yeah,
- 7:52Speaker 1: but I mean I wouldn't mind modeling here and there,
- 7:54Speaker 1: you know, just you know, momeling different name brands and
- 7:58Speaker 1: stuff like that. You know, I would love to do it. Well,
- 8:02Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you something. I feel like you. You're
- 8:04Speaker 1: a good looking guy. You're a good looking guy. You
- 8:06Speaker 1: got a good structure on you. Just start just start,
- 8:08Speaker 1: just start doing them clothes on that Instagram. Just start
- 8:11Speaker 1: doing them clothes and people because you got to look dude.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Come on, now, you got it. And so you got
- 8:18Speaker 1: to show. We're gonna talk about the show in the
- 8:19Speaker 1: next break. But I just wanted this first break just
- 8:21Speaker 1: to be about developing our relationship. So, you know, I
- 8:24Speaker 1: know you did a lot of interview, but my interview
- 8:25Speaker 1: is a little bit different because I talked about the experience.
- 8:29Speaker 1: I want my fans to understand that your journey you're
- 8:32Speaker 1: you're reaching success, but sometimes sex there's nothing permanent about success,
- 8:36Speaker 1: especially from an athletic standpoint, and so you gotta have
- 8:40Speaker 1: that next plan. And your next plan is what you're
- 8:42Speaker 1: doing with your production company, with your new TV show
- 8:45Speaker 1: that you're doing, that you're developing on YouTube. I wanted
- 8:48Speaker 1: people to understand, just tell us why are you doing
- 8:50Speaker 1: this television show? Before we before we go in this break.
- 8:55Speaker 1: I just wanted to show people that athletes shouldn't be
- 8:58Speaker 1: subject to one thing, you know, m h We're not
- 9:01Speaker 1: just athletes. We actually have, you know, things that we
- 9:04Speaker 1: want to do outside of just sports. And and I
- 9:07Speaker 1: wanted to come out with a show that just you know,
- 9:10Speaker 1: showed people, you know, they're hitting jams within these big
- 9:14Speaker 1: city like of like a good restaurants to go to,
- 9:18Speaker 1: you know what I'm chasing, man, when it comes you know,
- 9:22Speaker 1: I'm a producer, right, So when I come back, we're
- 9:24Speaker 1: gonna talk about ideas, next level ideas for your shows.
- 9:28Speaker 1: That all right, Yeah, that's fine, cool, be right back
- 9:33Speaker 1: with my man, Ryan Hies for Sean McDonald on the
- 9:36Speaker 1: fogers U professional football player slash model slash TV host
- 9:43Speaker 1: Ryan Dhilaire. Ryan, you got a TV show that you're
- 9:47Speaker 1: creating that you're traveling around the country. Tell us how
- 9:50Speaker 1: that concept started and tell us um first, tell us
- 9:54Speaker 1: how the concept started. It's called low Key Lit. Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 1: So with low Key Lit, I came up with the concept.
- 10:02Speaker 1: I basically was traveling, you know, from different places, you know,
- 10:06Speaker 1: from state to state. My um, I think second year,
- 10:11Speaker 1: after the season with my agent, you know, I went
- 10:13Speaker 1: to the When did I go to I went to
- 10:16Speaker 1: the Super Bowl in Houston. I had a couple of
- 10:18Speaker 1: events had to do there with him. Then I had
- 10:21Speaker 1: I went to the All Star Game that year. Then
- 10:24Speaker 1: I traveled to Miami. Says I traveled to Miami. So
- 10:27Speaker 1: then thinking back to when I was doing that, I
- 10:29Speaker 1: was thinking, like, I'm traveling to all these different places,
- 10:32Speaker 1: I should try to monetize it or you know, do
- 10:35Speaker 1: something and create a following. Because I felt like I
- 10:38Speaker 1: was going to all these like, you know, I wanted
- 10:41Speaker 1: to know what were the best places to eat when
- 10:44Speaker 1: I was in those locations. So I came up with
- 10:48Speaker 1: the concept of low Key Lit because I wanted to
- 10:51Speaker 1: be the guy that everybody can reach out to if
- 10:54Speaker 1: they wanted to know what place to eat in a
- 10:56Speaker 1: certain city, so I basically them up with the show
- 11:01Speaker 1: I wanted to. It's called low Key Lit because I
- 11:03Speaker 1: go to the places that are literally low key and
- 11:06Speaker 1: they're lit. Like places are like, you know, not many
- 11:09Speaker 1: people would know about. You know, they're like my pop shops,
- 11:12Speaker 1: but like you know, just like everyone else, you know,
- 11:16Speaker 1: the Mama pop shops have like some of the best flavors.
- 11:19Speaker 1: You know. I went to a place, Yeah, I went
- 11:22Speaker 1: to a place in Atlanta one time, and I had
- 11:24Speaker 1: to put them on my show called Mr. Everything. Um,
- 11:27Speaker 1: it's a really nice place to have like you know,
- 11:30Speaker 1: steam veggies. Everything was grilled over rice. You know, steam
- 11:35Speaker 1: veggies was like a certain meat, whether it's like salmon, um, chicken,
- 11:42Speaker 1: et cetera. And they would have like really great food.
- 11:45Speaker 1: So I had to put them on the show. That
- 11:46Speaker 1: was one of my first episodes when I was growing.
- 11:49Speaker 1: And you know, I just love the fact that I
- 11:51Speaker 1: can go to these hidden gems and show my perspective
- 11:53Speaker 1: of it from my athletes perspective, and I would just
- 11:56Speaker 1: put a you know, plenty of my different teammates on
- 12:00Speaker 1: there as well. Now here's just there for the athletes perspective. See,
- 12:04Speaker 1: I'm not an athlete. I was just a regular eater now,
- 12:07Speaker 1: you know. So with that being said, what what what
- 12:11Speaker 1: are the the you said? The criteria basically is these
- 12:14Speaker 1: hidden gems, you know, low profile, but you know everybody
- 12:18Speaker 1: knows abody enough people don't don't know about them. So
- 12:20Speaker 1: you go in, you're dine and now I see a
- 12:23Speaker 1: camera that is it a camera crew follow you around?
- 12:26Speaker 1: Or is it actual camera? Is it a iPad? Is
- 12:30Speaker 1: it a your iPhone? How are you? How is it
- 12:33Speaker 1: show being shot? So it's being shot with um a camera.
- 12:38Speaker 1: We we shot with a sony camera and I shot
- 12:42Speaker 1: with a cannon camera. And you know I don't have
- 12:45Speaker 1: like two cameraman with me, And basically I would and
- 12:49Speaker 1: I would basically go to the restaurant, talk to him,
- 12:53Speaker 1: discuss what I was doing, and have everything within contract.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I would do a press release, sister, you know, just
- 12:58Speaker 1: for legal purposes. Absolutely. Yeah, you don't want to go
- 13:02Speaker 1: in there with no kind of right, you know what
- 13:05Speaker 1: I mean? Everything is yeah, exactly. You know you want
- 13:09Speaker 1: to start tapping on the show. Excuse me, sir, sir,
- 13:12Speaker 1: sir sir, all these cameras who let you all in
- 13:15Speaker 1: here my show? So you got no yeah, like you
- 13:24Speaker 1: definitely wanted everything to be business business oriented. So with that,
- 13:28Speaker 1: I basically I have my two camera man, I'll create
- 13:32Speaker 1: a whole blueprint of how I want everything orchestrated, and
- 13:35Speaker 1: we just go in and we shoot. Here here's my
- 13:38Speaker 1: thoughts because I saw the I saw the Cookie visit,
- 13:42Speaker 1: I saw the Bowling Bolling Alley, I saw the Crab
- 13:47Speaker 1: visit in Houston. I've seen you. Know. If I like you,
- 13:53Speaker 1: you your your chrismatic, you look good, you feel the camera,
- 13:58Speaker 1: I would do it more like, uh like an iPhone style,
- 14:03Speaker 1: so it feels like it feels like it feels like
- 14:05Speaker 1: it's it feels like it's a it's like, you know,
- 14:07Speaker 1: you just invite them into the world. I just just
- 14:10Speaker 1: just Rashan McDonald. Okay, I've been doing televisions. Just name
- 14:12Speaker 1: three hit TV shows, blockbuster hits. So I think I
- 14:16Speaker 1: know what I'm talking about a little bit. Just but
- 14:17Speaker 1: I love you and I want to give you a
- 14:19Speaker 1: little bit advice. You can take it or you can
- 14:21Speaker 1: like uh later on and letting marinate. But if you
- 14:24Speaker 1: would bring down the production level and make it more
- 14:28Speaker 1: like uh like like your your point of view shot man,
- 14:32Speaker 1: I dude, I would watch that, and I said, I
- 14:35Speaker 1: won't watching now, but that's just a thought, and I
- 14:37Speaker 1: wanted to hear. I want to just talk a little
- 14:39Speaker 1: production back and forth with you, because you're the executive
- 14:41Speaker 1: producer talking. I'm an executive producer talking, and then we
- 14:45Speaker 1: can let our listeners know how how to top producers
- 14:48Speaker 1: talk and developing the TV show. What are your thoughts
- 14:51Speaker 1: when I say, hey, you know, let's let's let's bring
- 14:54Speaker 1: down the quality and make it more like a personal journey,
- 14:58Speaker 1: and you you just happen to be and then and
- 15:00Speaker 1: then it just popped off like that. Yeah, yeah, I basically,
- 15:05Speaker 1: um I did. I did a point of view basically
- 15:10Speaker 1: like a vlog setting you did that, but I merely
- 15:12Speaker 1: did that for when I was traveling, So I yeah,
- 15:16Speaker 1: I did that. So I have like two different productions.
- 15:20Speaker 1: I have like low key lit like when I actually
- 15:22Speaker 1: have a production like it's an episode, and I have
- 15:26Speaker 1: local local lit vlogs. So when I did like the
- 15:29Speaker 1: local lit vlogs, I actually went to um Colombia, like
- 15:34Speaker 1: in South America, and I had a vlog of just
- 15:37Speaker 1: doing different things while I was out there that people
- 15:39Speaker 1: probably never knew I was out there in Colombia and
- 15:44Speaker 1: I did like paragliding, I did a TV writing and
- 15:48Speaker 1: I just sold the whole Yeah, and then I did
- 15:50Speaker 1: also South Africa last year as well, and I just
- 15:54Speaker 1: show what it was like to be mm hmm. Yeah,
- 15:58Speaker 1: that's that's some fun stuff and some but no, but
- 16:00Speaker 1: no camera crew was falling around. You just kind of
- 16:02Speaker 1: like doing it yourself. Yeah, I have my my camera
- 16:06Speaker 1: had a go Pro and I have my phone. That's
- 16:09Speaker 1: how I just yeah, and I just wanted to show
- 16:12Speaker 1: raw footage of how everything is, how everything is, you know,
- 16:17Speaker 1: over there. So that was really good. But like when
- 16:19Speaker 1: I usually do my traveling, I usually try to blog back.
- 16:23Speaker 1: But like for the production of the of the show,
- 16:26Speaker 1: when i'm you know, at the restaurant, I probably did
- 16:29Speaker 1: one episode and I was just blogging and I had
- 16:32Speaker 1: the camera pointer view on me. But majority of the
- 16:36Speaker 1: time I'm make it, you know, a quality I'm making
- 16:40Speaker 1: it like a pretty good quality episode. Well I'm not
- 16:44Speaker 1: saying it's not I'm just saying that what I'm asking
- 16:46Speaker 1: you to do is not a quality. It's just that
- 16:47Speaker 1: it's just that when you with low key, low key lip,
- 16:50Speaker 1: you know that it's It's really a cool concept and
- 16:53Speaker 1: it's from your point of view. And I'm not saying
- 16:55Speaker 1: the camera has to be on you. You You know you
- 16:56Speaker 1: can turn when you I'm just telling you. Is that
- 17:00Speaker 1: advising you? Because like I said, I love your idea.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I wouldn't be pitching your idea, wouldn't have you on
- 17:04Speaker 1: the show. I wanted to bring on the show just
- 17:06Speaker 1: to talk to you and let people know that if
- 17:07Speaker 1: you have a dream, you can do it yourself. And

- 18:53Speaker 1: you know, running the run of the businesses. It's just
- 18:56Speaker 1: as important. That's how good the food is too. Some
