- 0:15Speaker 1: like American buck bus things. And it's to me true
- 0:20Speaker 1: good at Steve Hardy listening too for Stearle Hoby w
- 0:38Speaker 1: don't you join? Yeah? Hobby joining me said do you
- 1:01Speaker 1: turn to go? Yeah? You go. You gotta turn you
- 1:41Speaker 1: to turn about turn lovey got to turn out to
- 1:45Speaker 1: turn water water yall come come on your thing at it?
- 2:01Speaker 1: Uh huh, I'm sure will. Good morning everybody. You're listening
- 2:05Speaker 1: to the voice, come on dig me now? Wanting on
- 2:08Speaker 1: this Steve Harvey got a radio show. Okay. I was
- 2:13Speaker 1: thinking about it this morning and I said, um, um,
- 2:19Speaker 1: what can I share in a different way today? You know,
- 2:25Speaker 1: it creates a challenge every morning to come up with
- 2:28Speaker 1: something different. Um. And at times, you know, I feel
- 2:34Speaker 1: like I'm reiterating myself and and I am, and I
- 2:37Speaker 1: find different ways to say the same thing almost. But
- 2:40Speaker 1: I do that because you know, sometimes if you hear
- 2:45Speaker 1: it a different way, it impacts you differently. I've heard
- 2:48Speaker 1: people say stuff to me my entire life, but somebody
- 2:50Speaker 1: came along said the exact same thing, but they said
- 2:53Speaker 1: it a different way, and it struck a chord in me.
- 2:56Speaker 1: It wrung a bell. And so that's that I attempt
- 3:00Speaker 1: to do. And you know, some mornings I I play
- 3:05Speaker 1: back some ones that I think are just memorable or
- 3:10Speaker 1: order I want to reiterate. And there's nothing wrong with that.
- 3:13Speaker 1: So I hope everybody understands that. Today though, I got
- 3:16Speaker 1: one for you. I want to I want to ask
- 3:20Speaker 1: you a question, what choices are you making? See, life
- 3:27Speaker 1: is full of choices now as creatures. God is the
- 3:33Speaker 1: God gave us the humans. Of all the creatures created,
- 3:37Speaker 1: the humans, we have more of a power of choice
- 3:41Speaker 1: than do any other creature he created. Fish have to
- 3:45Speaker 1: live in water, they have to. Men have gone to
- 3:50Speaker 1: out of space. Men have gone underwater for days and
- 3:54Speaker 1: weeks and months at a time. You know, I mean,
- 3:57Speaker 1: we we got choices here. We we we can we
- 4:00Speaker 1: can live in a hot climate, we can go live
- 4:03Speaker 1: in a cold climate. You know, most animals are created
- 4:07Speaker 1: for certain regions, certain climates. They don't do well. And
- 4:11Speaker 1: you know, you don't find a lot of animals in
- 4:14Speaker 1: in the polar ice, But then you don't find polar
- 4:17Speaker 1: bears down in there. You know, South Arctic or a
- 4:22Speaker 1: south equator. So you know what choices are you making?
- 4:25Speaker 1: That's what I'm saying, because we all have the power
- 4:28Speaker 1: of choice. Now, I've made some bad choices in my life.
- 4:33Speaker 1: I want you to understand that clearly. And I still
- 4:36Speaker 1: every hour and then I'll do myself a disservice with
- 4:40Speaker 1: another bad choice. But I have tried to narrow them
- 4:44Speaker 1: down through life experiences and and and and reduce the
- 4:48Speaker 1: amount of major mistakes I make. But let me tell
- 4:53Speaker 1: you something. You're listening to a person who has made
- 4:56Speaker 1: major major mistakes in his choice. This. In my decision
- 5:02Speaker 1: making process, I have thrown myself down the cliff. I
- 5:07Speaker 1: can't tell you how many times when I decided not
- 5:11Speaker 1: to pay attention in college, when I didn't develop steady
- 5:16Speaker 1: habits in high school, when I I chose this woman
- 5:24Speaker 1: over that woman I chose man, I I can't tell you, y'all.
- 5:29Speaker 1: I did it. I did it to go over here
- 5:33Speaker 1: and get with this girl, this woman over here, when
- 5:37Speaker 1: I should not have. Clearly man should not have. But
- 5:42Speaker 1: I made the choice to do it anyway. I made
- 5:45Speaker 1: a decision. Um, I did some things that caused myself
- 5:51Speaker 1: to be homeless for a period of time, I made
- 5:54Speaker 1: some decisions that messed up my credit for a long
- 5:58Speaker 1: stretch of time. I made some decisions that you know,
- 6:04Speaker 1: just had people just kind of, you know, not not
- 6:07Speaker 1: even wanting to help me. So the question is what
- 6:11Speaker 1: choices are you making? When I changed my decision making process,
- 6:16Speaker 1: I changed the entire direction of my life. When I
- 6:21Speaker 1: made a conscious decision to look at life differently and
- 6:25Speaker 1: make better choices and better decisions, it changed my entire life.
- 6:32Speaker 1: I decided, instead of going down the path I was
- 6:35Speaker 1: going on, I decided to choose life. First of all,
- 6:40Speaker 1: I wanted to live. So I decided I wanted to
- 6:44Speaker 1: choose life. So I'm not gonna do the things that
- 6:47Speaker 1: could bring about my demise on my death. I'm out.
- 6:50Speaker 1: I ain't with this, this is not no. I choose life.
- 6:55Speaker 1: Then I made another decision. I said, I choose life,
- 6:59Speaker 1: and I choose it more abundantly. You know what that means.
- 7:03Speaker 1: God comes into your life to give you life and
- 7:07Speaker 1: give you life more abundantly, So that means just more
- 7:11Speaker 1: of it. So I chose that. I said, Okay, man,
- 7:15Speaker 1: I need to start talking to God a little bit
- 7:17Speaker 1: more because the way I've been figuring this thing man
- 7:19Speaker 1: has gotten me to this point. I ain't really cool
- 7:22Speaker 1: with the point I'm at. See, eventually, you just got
- 7:25Speaker 1: to be uncool with the point you at. So I
- 7:28Speaker 1: chose life, and I chose it more abundantly. Then I
- 7:31Speaker 1: chose to start showing mercy to people because I needed
- 7:35Speaker 1: some more people to show mercy to me. So you
- 7:38Speaker 1: remember why I said. I was going through a period
- 7:40Speaker 1: in my life when it seemed like when nobody helped me,
- 7:43Speaker 1: nobody seemed to exhibit mercy towards me. Well, I wasn't
- 7:47Speaker 1: creating that much mercy myself, I don't guess. So I
- 7:51Speaker 1: decided to choose mercy. I decided to choose forgiveness. I
- 7:56Speaker 1: started forgiving people who had wronged me, who told me
- 8:00Speaker 1: I wasn't gonna mount to nothing. I forgave him who
- 8:03Speaker 1: tried to talk me off the path, who went by
- 8:06Speaker 1: my mother's house and told my mama, your son, Steve
- 8:09Speaker 1: he lazy. He don't want to work. That's why he
- 8:11Speaker 1: out there struggling like that, trying to do that comedy thing.
- 8:14Speaker 1: I wasn't lazy, man, I just didn't want to work
- 8:16Speaker 1: for you. I'm willing to work. Look at me. I
- 8:20Speaker 1: work hard, trust and believe that, but I was not
- 8:23Speaker 1: willing to work for them. I wasn't willing to take
- 8:26Speaker 1: the route they took, so they labeled me lazy. I'm
- 8:28Speaker 1: not a lazy person. But I chose forgiveness though. I
- 8:32Speaker 1: chose to forgive them because I didn't have time to
- 8:35Speaker 1: break them. And then I chose moving forward. I decided
- 8:39Speaker 1: that I wasn't gonna go back, that I wasn't gonna
- 8:41Speaker 1: live my life in my past, that I wasn't gonna
- 8:44Speaker 1: let my past determine who I was going to be.
- 8:47Speaker 1: See I was who I was, but I am who
- 8:50Speaker 1: I am, and I'm cool with both of them people
- 8:53Speaker 1: I really am. I'm absolutely fine with the person I
- 8:56Speaker 1: used to be. God got to save you from something,
- 9:00Speaker 1: so I'm cool with that. But all that was the
- 9:02Speaker 1: ingredients though that got me to this point. So I'm
- 9:04Speaker 1: fine with my past. But what I do not do
- 9:07Speaker 1: is allowed my past to dictate what I am, where
- 9:10Speaker 1: I'm going, what I can be. God forgave me, so
- 9:15Speaker 1: I forgave myself. I chose to move forward, not stay
- 9:20Speaker 1: in the past. I choose laughing. I choose laughing. I
- 9:25Speaker 1: decided that I was gonna laugh more every day. I
- 9:29Speaker 1: chose learning. I wanted to open myself up to new things.
- 9:35Speaker 1: I wanted to open myself up to knowing something that
- 9:38Speaker 1: I've never known before. I allow people to teach me things.
- 9:44Speaker 1: I chose joy. I decided to quit seeking fun all
- 9:49Speaker 1: the time and sit down somewhere and be all right
- 9:52Speaker 1: with me. See, I ain't got to go and do
- 9:56Speaker 1: no more to I ain't got to go out here
- 9:58Speaker 1: and hook up with this per and then get this
- 10:00Speaker 1: in my life. And man, let's buy this and hook
- 10:03Speaker 1: this up. Now, y'all come in here and we're gonna
- 10:05Speaker 1: have some fun. No, man, I stopped doing that. I
- 10:09Speaker 1: chose joy. I chose to be sitting somewhere with my
- 10:13Speaker 1: girl with a cigar and I'm just all right, just
- 10:16Speaker 1: me and her. I chose joy. Man, I see fun,
- 10:21Speaker 1: You got to go do something to have fun. But
- 10:24Speaker 1: joy joys within joyce when you're sitting there with yourself
- 10:29Speaker 1: because you didn't connected with your creator, you didn't found
- 10:31Speaker 1: something with God, and you're cool with you now. See.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I chose to be cool with me. What are your choices?
- 10:39Speaker 1: You gotta make better choices. You make better choices, you
- 10:42Speaker 1: have a better outcome. You change your attitude, you change
- 10:45Speaker 1: your altitude. It all ties together. But we gotta make
- 10:48Speaker 1: better decisions. What are you deciding today? Watch it? Okay,
- 10:52Speaker 1: be careful, make sure you're making better to start making
- 10:55Speaker 1: better decisions today, ladies and gentlemen, Today it's going to
- 11:05Speaker 1: be different. I have decided, without conferring with anyone, that
- 11:11Speaker 1: today would be a day well come once every day,
- 11:20Speaker 1: thank that this no, not like every day to watch this?
- 11:28Speaker 1: Watch this? What our food? But nothing right front and wait?
- 11:39Speaker 1: Hey ladies, hello, Steve, stay out away, try to control it,
- 11:47Speaker 1: do your best. All right, Well let's okay, Well then,
- 11:52Speaker 1: if this is going to be a different day of ignorance,
- 11:54Speaker 1: let's have it. Don't back up now, don't back down now. Okay,
- 11:58Speaker 1: what you need. Let's start with any question you want
- 12:00Speaker 1: to ask me. Let's just get this started right now.
- 12:04Speaker 1: Any question you want to ask me. This can carry
- 12:06Speaker 1: over in the six thirty four. These are all ignorant,
- 12:11Speaker 1: non responsible answers. Oh okay, tell junior, I don't just
- 12:18Speaker 1: but tell junior. You can see how fat you are
- 12:22Speaker 1: the most when you are wiping your backside. That's when
- 12:29Speaker 1: the most of your fat leans forward and you're able
- 12:33Speaker 1: to really see how much fat really is you? So
- 12:39Speaker 1: you still so you still reaching behind yourself? Yes, you're
- 12:44Speaker 1: reaching back learned, So that's how we're still okay, all right,
- 12:51Speaker 1: all right now you're still jamming your hand down the
- 12:54Speaker 1: back of the level of ignorance. Okay, you win? Oh
- 13:03Speaker 1: that want you the fattest that. I didn't think. I
- 13:09Speaker 1: didn't think you can talk yourselves. I really didn't. But man,
- 13:12Speaker 1: oh man, you gotta put your hand on the wall
- 13:16Speaker 1: in front of It's early, guys, it's early in the morning. Yeah,
- 13:21Speaker 1: people are having they're eating or they're just getting out
- 13:24Speaker 1: what they're about to go breakfast time. Wow. Really, okay,
- 13:30Speaker 1: let's start this again, Steve, because you speak to us
- 13:33Speaker 1: again again. That was that's unacceptable, too far, say it.
- 13:40Speaker 1: I just wanted to be there. Ain't nothing I beg
- 13:46Speaker 1: to differ with you, girl. You know the stuff on
- 13:49Speaker 1: inhale back. Give you credit for that. Just try that
- 13:54Speaker 1: you don't. Okay, okay, how about this. Let's not let's
- 13:58Speaker 1: not do bodily function. Let's not do a be quiet
- 14:06Speaker 1: tommy a second. You got thirty seconds, all right, that's
- 14:14Speaker 1: we just said. All right, Steve, I'll just ask you anything.
- 14:21Speaker 1: What kind of day are you expecting to have today? Absolutely? Okay,
- 14:27Speaker 1: that's a perfect perfect We come back. You're gonna see
- 14:31Speaker 1: how incredible in you be right, We'll be right. Got
- 14:35Speaker 1: to mess around with this. We're gonna continue to ask
- 14:37Speaker 1: the segment right after this. It's gonna be good. Let's go.
- 14:40Speaker 1: We'll be back at thirty two after Jesus help us all.
- 14:43Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, Steve,
- 14:47Speaker 1: so listen. When we first opened up the show, you
- 14:51Speaker 1: said today was going to be really ignorant. You said that,
- 14:54Speaker 1: and so I came back with what's different about today?
- 14:57Speaker 1: They're all ignorant every day we're the show. This is
- 15:01Speaker 1: gonna be most Yeah, so I got questions. So I
- 15:05Speaker 1: just asked you a simple question. I just wanted to
- 15:07Speaker 1: start off with a simple I said, what kind of
- 15:10Speaker 1: day are you expecting to happen? All right? Tell me
- 15:12Speaker 1: absolutely fabulous day. Okay, now let's go and get some
- 15:14Speaker 1: real Okay, Now that's not ignorant if you steal it, no,
- 15:18Speaker 1: it's absolutely fabulous. Be quiet, boy, and let the questions come.
- 15:24Speaker 1: He had a question. Let him let them. Yeah, see
- 15:27Speaker 1: if you say, oh lord, if you steal from a thief?
- 15:32Speaker 1: Ain't there cool? Because you know these questions that's supposed
- 15:37Speaker 1: to be coming from sure supposed to be questions that
- 15:41Speaker 1: we can answer to. This ain't that's deep Corey, that's
- 15:46Speaker 1: a deep question. But I deserve an answer. But that's
- 15:49Speaker 1: all right if you don't want to answer. Okay, let's see.
- 15:53Speaker 1: I'm just asking you normal questions. Yes, man, this normal question,
- 15:58Speaker 1: but they're gonna get an ignorance. Alright, your your next book?
- 16:02Speaker 1: What are you going to write about in your next book?
- 16:04Speaker 1: You've written about success, You've written about telling women decided. Okay,
- 16:09Speaker 1: what is it? Steve at farming? I'm gonna write about
- 16:16Speaker 1: how to farm? And how do you turn these perfectly
- 16:20Speaker 1: normal questions into this ignorance? I told it's gonna be
- 16:23Speaker 1: next question. Everybody want to add? Phone, just email. I've
- 16:30Speaker 1: seen you the book. I ain't even charging for. Okay,
- 16:32Speaker 1: how's your vegan diet going? You know what, It's actually
- 16:34Speaker 1: going pretty good. That's a normal question. A vegan now
- 16:38Speaker 1: for three weeks. But I've created a new term. I'm
- 16:41Speaker 1: actually not a vegan. I'm a vegan X. Vegan X
- 16:44Speaker 1: is different. I'm a vegan to the next time I
- 16:48Speaker 1: eat me coming. I want you to know that, but
- 16:55Speaker 1: only after I reached my certain goals. Okay, all right,
- 16:59Speaker 1: how long are you planning on keeping your beard? I
- 17:02Speaker 1: don't know. I probably keep this for a while, you know,
- 17:05Speaker 1: depend on you know. My girl said she liked, uh,
- 17:13Speaker 1: you know what made me sound would keep? Monica complimented
- 17:17Speaker 1: me on it this morning, Mississippi Monica, were you considering
- 17:22Speaker 1: shaving it? Well, no, it wasn't. But just hearing it
- 17:25Speaker 1: from her because her being from Mississippi and being around
- 17:27Speaker 1: a lot of hell Buillis, you know, and they have
- 17:30Speaker 1: long beards, you know, like Appellachian people and all that.
- 17:33Speaker 1: If she mowed a beard expert because she didn't have
- 17:36Speaker 1: seen him down that everybody got a bid at the
- 17:38Speaker 1: catfish convention. You gotta Mississippi be here? Is that what
- 17:42Speaker 1: you're saying? Missippi? Minica know a lot about being so
- 17:47Speaker 1: when she complimented me, I take it as an ultimate something. Yeah, yeah,
- 17:52Speaker 1: coming from her. She didn't seen some beards in Msigan
- 17:55Speaker 1: at all the catfish competitions and you know, crack in competitions,
- 18:01Speaker 1: pigs Bobby at the red Neck Games. Monica was queen
- 18:06Speaker 1: at the red Net game. Yeah, she was missing the
- 18:09Speaker 1: Queens game. They live Monica. I don't see how that works,
- 18:14Speaker 1: but she was a queen at the fair. Okay, all right, okay,
- 18:19Speaker 1: well you're gonna keep the beard then. Okay, So so
- 18:22Speaker 1: you said you were going to change your wardrobe this year. Yeah,
- 18:27Speaker 1: the new suits is already on new cut ye And
- 18:31Speaker 1: what does that cut? More tailored, more European, huh more,
- 18:35Speaker 1: you know, just more. It's just you know, I just
- 18:41Speaker 1: it's reinvention time. You thought he gonna look like Kim
- 18:44Speaker 1: Newton or something like that. Look right there, Yeah, the
- 18:48Speaker 1: short pa cam f Cam Newton by fly because he
- 18:52Speaker 1: can do that. Why don't you try some shorts like
- 18:54Speaker 1: Lebron Steve Well, Tomas can't wear short. That ain't got
- 18:59Speaker 1: nothing to deal with me as no question, I perfect.
- 19:04Speaker 1: I mean talk about how good how Cam Newton looking,
- 19:08Speaker 1: you know, talking about shorts, and I just said, Toma,
- 19:10Speaker 1: kame West, you can't be just short, And you just
- 19:12Speaker 1: heard the word short, and you automatically went to how
- 19:14Speaker 1: are you gonna be you have on shorts? Shorts? Well,
- 19:19Speaker 1: what do they call call little man? They can't be
- 19:24Speaker 1: called short? Little You show them ain't penis. Go ahead,
- 19:32Speaker 1: next question, next, nice panting me out let. I asked
- 19:38Speaker 1: the question. I didn't accuse you, sir, I didn't say
- 19:40Speaker 1: you had. I asked the question. This is a normal conversation.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I like it. You haven't really gotten ignorant yet. Yeah, okay,
- 19:47Speaker 1: all right, here go next question. Year ago. Let's go
- 19:50Speaker 1: um Okay, what's your favorite news source? I like fake news.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I like c N Yeah, I like seeing it good
- 20:02Speaker 1: old fake music. Okay. Is there a chance that if
- 20:06Speaker 1: Kanye were to throw his hat in the ring to
- 20:08Speaker 1: run for president, that you would? I'm not Kanye. If
- 20:16Speaker 1: anybody else black run, I'm voting for them. Okay, So
- 20:23Speaker 1: anybody else black run other than Kanye. Kanye doesn't even
- 20:30Speaker 1: understand how much money it takes to run. He ain't
- 20:32Speaker 1: gonna have a commercial on TV. He'll do all social media,
- 20:36Speaker 1: probably many. Yeah. Yeah, and his wife will make a
- 20:43Speaker 1: beautiful first lady, that's no doubt. I'm okay, I'm cool
- 20:47Speaker 1: with that. In nothing, I ain't the wrong kill being
- 20:52Speaker 1: in there. If there was a way we could make
- 20:57Speaker 1: President Obama run again, if we could change the laws
- 21:00Speaker 1: and he could get back in the legally. Now, listen
- 21:03Speaker 1: to this if Joe Biden ran legally president, Obama could
- 21:07Speaker 1: run as vice president. Yeah, just like Hillary Clinton and
- 21:12Speaker 1: Bill and Bill Clinton she had one, Yeah, then he
- 21:16Speaker 1: would be our first man. But oh yeah, that's right.
- 21:21Speaker 1: Let's being a fair lady. That's gonna I don't do
- 21:25Speaker 1: no background chick on the latest, do it first, lady
- 21:28Speaker 1: to do it. They don't hull. It's been civil. This
- 21:37Speaker 1: has been very civil. I like it. It's been very civil. See,
- 21:42Speaker 1: you've made me happy. All right, coming up, the nephew
- 21:45Speaker 1: is gonna run that prank back right after this you're
- 21:48Speaker 1: listening to show. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 21:53Speaker 1: we'll have some entertainment news for you know, worries. That's
- 21:56Speaker 1: what Angela Bassett said. Beautiful Angela Bassett said this to
- 22:00Speaker 1: The New York Times. Uh, somehow they mix her up
- 22:02Speaker 1: with Alma Rosa. We'll talk about it. Uh but what yes, yes, yes,
- 22:07Speaker 1: we'll talk about it coming up in entertainment news. But
- 22:09Speaker 1: I got her confused with that. I've been really Uh
- 22:13Speaker 1: the nephew is here to run that prank back. What
- 22:15Speaker 1: you got, king of pranks? You've been riding in my car,
- 22:20Speaker 1: that's what you've been doing. You've been riding in my car.
- 22:23Speaker 1: Let's run no one. Hello, I'm trying to restore this place. Yeah,
- 22:28Speaker 1: this is Curtis. You do want to work at the
- 22:30Speaker 1: hotel and you do ballet parking? Yeah, okay, let me
- 22:34Speaker 1: tell you something. You're the one that park my seven
- 22:37Speaker 1: fifty BMW. You just took the change out of my
- 22:40Speaker 1: carter the loose change guard head in there. And you
- 22:42Speaker 1: also didn't put a hundred miles on there. And I

- 25:11Speaker 1: don't do. I go to work, I park the car,
- 25:14Speaker 1: and I'm come home and take care in my girl.
- 25:16Speaker 1: All right, ain't putting a hunch of miles on your car. May,
- 25:18Speaker 1: I didn't take your car. That's what I did was
- 25:20Speaker 1: rolling your car and park the man that ship Now

- 28:08Speaker 1: And I think the title came the title came from
- 28:10Speaker 1: my uncle because I've written his car so many times,
- 28:13Speaker 1: and then every time i've got out, I've heard that
- 28:15Speaker 1: that you've been writing in my car. Yes, nephew, get
- 28:21Speaker 1: ready to Ashville next week. I'm coming baby. The nephew
- 28:24Speaker 1: was coming to town, and I said it before. I'll
- 28:27Speaker 1: let you know if the nephew added the show. I'm
- 28:31Speaker 1: still on the brain car. Well, when you're gonna add it? Man?
- 28:34Speaker 1: All the shows are sold out? When is you gonna?
- 28:39Speaker 1: I don't know, Uncle, I just like seeing those two
- 28:41Speaker 1: words up there, and I just if you're just going
- 28:43Speaker 1: and add the show. Quit being scared of success, boy
- 28:47Speaker 1: and the show. You've been sold out at the show?
- 28:52Speaker 1: You know? You know this would really go well if
- 28:54Speaker 1: you didn't do if you went to aggressive. You know
- 28:58Speaker 1: what I'm yelling at you? Is that the work? Yes? Yeah,
- 29:03Speaker 1: you know. His nerves are bad. I'm really trying to
- 29:08Speaker 1: figure out what's wrong. I don't I don't want to.
- 29:10Speaker 1: So what's the damn debate? That's the Tommy question. Uncle.
- 29:14Speaker 1: We'll discuss it over Lynch. We're good, I'll talk to
- 29:17Speaker 1: you about it. And who are you? I don't know
- 29:19Speaker 1: who this white man? I don't know who. Oh, you know,
- 29:28Speaker 1: I'm gonna think about it over the cave on. When
- 29:30Speaker 1: I'm done, I'll think about adding the show. And I
- 29:32Speaker 1: think I might. I just might do it. Oh did
- 29:34Speaker 1: he just say caviar You're back on the caviar. You're
- 29:37Speaker 1: back on a break. But I ain't got out he's
- 29:41Speaker 1: back on Caviar. Well, one thing, Steve, if he adds
- 29:45Speaker 1: another show, you know he'll be m I A on Monday.
- 29:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna make it. That's a debate right there. I
- 29:53Speaker 1: will be here. Sure. I think you should just take
- 29:56Speaker 1: your uncle's advice. He's made a success out of this, Tommy,
- 30:00Speaker 1: But you do you know how big that is if
- 30:05Speaker 1: he just add one more by the time he gets
- 30:07Speaker 1: that desk show Sona, Okay, I'm not Why are you
- 30:10Speaker 1: talking about him like he's not here, like because if
- 30:14Speaker 1: I talk to him, I get mad. I don't want
- 30:16Speaker 1: to be angry mentor Alright, I overhealed the minute. All Right,
- 30:22Speaker 1: we gotta go, We gotta go. Maybe it'll sink in
- 30:24Speaker 1: one day. Coming up. In entertainment news, no Worries Show
- 30:30Speaker 1: sid show, Don't worries. Angela Basson said this to the
- 30:34Speaker 1: New York Times about the mixing her up with Amar Rosa.
- 30:38Speaker 1: We'll talk about it right after this. You're listening to
- 30:41Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Morning Show. All right, So the New
- 30:46Speaker 1: York Times mixed up Angela Bassett and amar Rosa. Okay,
- 30:50Speaker 1: Angela Bassett and amar Rossa, they don't look anything alike. Okay,
- 30:57Speaker 1: they're both black women. Uh, and they're both ones in
- 31:01Speaker 1: politics and ones in entertainment. Okay, that's about where their
- 31:05Speaker 1: similarities stop and start and stop, I should say. However,
- 31:09Speaker 1: the New York Times mixed them up in their Emery
- 31:11Speaker 1: Emmy coverage. Uh, there's a photo of them which featured Um,
- 31:16Speaker 1: there's a photo which featured Angela Bassett with Tiffany Hattish
- 31:20Speaker 1: and a brand new Emmy winner, Rachel brush Nan Brasnahan Brasnahan,
- 31:26Speaker 1: I should say. And yeah, they appeared in the early
- 31:30Speaker 1: edition of the art section. It should be noted that
- 31:32Speaker 1: Getty Images made the mistake first, but the fact that
- 31:36Speaker 1: no one at the Times caught it it was just shocking. Okay.
- 31:40Speaker 1: Once they did catch it, they tweeted out an apology
- 31:43Speaker 1: and promised to issue a correction. Uh. And you know, Steve,
- 31:47Speaker 1: how the corrections are there useful to be a small
- 31:49Speaker 1: blurb in the paper under the classifies of a dump trunk. Exactly,
- 31:55Speaker 1: exactly right. The correction is never bigger than the mistake
- 31:59Speaker 1: or the same. Uh naturally, you know everyone on Twitter,
- 32:03Speaker 1: they just went in on the Times. One Twitter user said,
- 32:06Speaker 1: do all dark skinned black women look like look the
- 32:09Speaker 1: same to your editors? Well, Angela Bassett ever classy, and
- 32:14Speaker 1: she's she's always classy and and so eloquent and elegant.
- 32:18Speaker 1: She tweeted off a picture of Carrie Washington as Olivia
- 32:22Speaker 1: Pope with the caption it's handled and she accepted the
- 32:26Speaker 1: Times apology. So there you go. I don't know how
- 32:29Speaker 1: she could take a difference. We already know. I haven't
- 32:38Speaker 1: seen any anything. Yeah, she's probably happy if they made
- 32:43Speaker 1: that mistake, if if her name was mentioned. Yeah, she
- 32:45Speaker 1: could probably sell a few more books or something. Yeah,
- 32:48Speaker 1: she don't have nothing to Yeah. And may I say
- 32:51Speaker 1: that Angela Bassett looked beautiful. She was stunning beautiful. Yeah.
- 32:56Speaker 1: And they were saying she's sixty years old. I find
- 32:58Speaker 1: that so hard of the lave. Yeah, she looks fantastic.
- 33:02Speaker 1: She looks fantastic. Yeah, And and they said something, see
- 33:06Speaker 1: this would be of interest to you that when she
- 33:08Speaker 1: cut out dairy, that's when she started getting more muscle definition.
- 33:13Speaker 1: Angela basseid, Yeah, she's very, very toy to remember how
- 33:16Speaker 1: great she looked when she played Tina Turner her her arms. Yeah,
- 33:21Speaker 1: so she I read somewhere that they said she cut
- 33:25Speaker 1: out dairy. She said she cut out dairy and that's
- 33:27Speaker 1: when she really started getting muscle definition in three weeks. Okay,
- 33:33Speaker 1: I'm just trying. But my problem is I have so
- 33:36Speaker 1: much Indie day. You should get out of so man.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I got some stuff in meat man. But Angela Bassett
- 33:52Speaker 1: looks fantastic. I'm just a big ash trash. Yes, we
- 33:59Speaker 1: love you, love you definitely. Another entertainment news from the
- 34:02Speaker 1: Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Williams has announced that she
- 34:07Speaker 1: is pregnant. Congratulations yea, and her baby daddy is her
- 34:13Speaker 1: new Man entrepreneur Dennis McKinley. So we sat congratulations to
- 34:18Speaker 1: you guys. Alright, alright, mommy, Yeah, she wanted to have children. Yeah,
- 34:24Speaker 1: She's always talked about the fact that she wanted to
- 34:27Speaker 1: have children. Yeah, I got my too, Dad, What that
- 34:36Speaker 1: is it? I'm just telling you the truth. I wanted
- 34:41Speaker 1: to put the hair left one of mine back. Well, Steve,
- 34:44Speaker 1: it is time to get caught up on today's headline.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Ladies and gentlemen, miss and Trip, thank you very much, everybody.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Good morning. This is the President. Trump went to both
- 34:54Speaker 1: North and South Carolina yesterday to personally survey conditions in
- 34:58Speaker 1: the wake of Hurricane Florence. North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper
- 35:01Speaker 1: says things are bad. I've talked to people who have
- 35:04Speaker 1: lost their entire home, people who really don't know what
- 35:09Speaker 1: to do with the fact that their business has been
- 35:12Speaker 1: washed away, Farmers who had a majority of crops in
- 35:17Speaker 1: their field that they were not able to harvest in time.
- 35:20Speaker 1: President Trump handed out meals at a local church. In
- 35:23Speaker 1: other words, he didn't throw out rolls of paper towels,
- 35:26Speaker 1: and he promised help from Washington. We're ready to do
- 35:29Speaker 1: whatever we have to do to make it this perfect. Unfortunately,
- 35:33Speaker 1: the money will be a lot, but it's gonna come
- 35:36Speaker 1: as fast as you need. It's gonna take care of everybody.
- 35:39Speaker 1: Rescue teams have now begun turning their efforts with right.
- 35:42Speaker 1: The death toll has risen to thirty seven deaths. A
- 35:44Speaker 1: woman who went to the same high school as the
- 35:46Speaker 1: college professor who says Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh sexually
- 35:49Speaker 1: assaulted her, says she remembers hearing about the incident and
- 35:52Speaker 1: she's pretty sure it did occur. In the Facebook post,
- 35:54Speaker 1: Christina Miranda King says she does remember hearing about that
- 35:57Speaker 1: alleged incident, although she had no firsthand information. She says
- 36:01Speaker 1: that the professor Ford, when they were in high school,
- 36:04Speaker 1: was a year or two behind her, but she remembers
- 36:06Speaker 1: her and that quote. Many of us heard buzz about
- 36:09Speaker 1: it on campus, and she feels the accusation is true. Meanwhile,
- 36:12Speaker 1: Brett Kavanaughs accused her has until Friday at ten am
- 36:15Speaker 1: to submit testimony to the Senate Judiciary Committee if she
- 36:18Speaker 1: intends to appear before the panel next week. However, the
- 36:21Speaker 1: woman says through her attorney she's gotten death threats and
- 36:24Speaker 1: will not appear until the FBI investigates. In Florida, the
- 36:28Speaker 1: death of an African American woman who had just assumed
- 36:30Speaker 1: the rank of Navy Chief Petty Officer being investigated as
- 36:33Speaker 1: a murder. Police say they received a medical emergency call
- 36:36Speaker 1: the night Andrea Washington was found dead, but they think
- 36:38Speaker 1: foul play. Chief Petty Officer Washington was a nineteen year
- 36:42Speaker 1: veteran mother of three. She was found dead in her
- 36:44Speaker 1: Jacksonville home. Officer Watchington had been granted a temporary restraining
- 36:48Speaker 1: order early this month from a guy who she said
- 36:50Speaker 1: had kicked and pulled a gun on her. She was
- 36:52Speaker 1: to appear on Monday in court, but never showed up.
- 36:56Speaker 1: Expect to get a text from the President this afternoon. Yes,
- 36:59Speaker 1: the President Donald Trump. Starting around to eighteen PM today,
- 37:02Speaker 1: Americans should get a message with the header Presidential Alert
- 37:05Speaker 1: followed by a text. It says this is a test
- 37:08Speaker 1: of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action, by
- 37:11Speaker 1: the way, is going to be needed. Which You're going
- 37:12Speaker 1: to get a test starting around to eighteen this afternoon.
- 37:16Speaker 1: Apparently the government wants to make sure that the system
- 37:18Speaker 1: they have now in place will actually work as intended. Finally,
- 37:22Speaker 1: today is National Punch Day. No the drink, the drink.

- 39:32Speaker 1: And these games count right, these early games, these real
- 39:35Speaker 1: early games, were in the draws. You understand why does
- 39:43Speaker 1: mine foot as you use so much by me, you'll
- 39:48Speaker 1: hear bragging up attack in. It's not as Tommy, it's
- 39:52Speaker 1: not a laws. That's fine, you can't bring it off. Well,
- 39:57Speaker 1: he might have a chance. He'll have a chance coming
- 39:59Speaker 1: up to brag about something. We'll win right now to
- 40:07Speaker 1: everybody and all that. But see what But see what
- 40:14Speaker 1: bothered me by time? He is when I have my
- 40:17Speaker 1: enthusiasm for my team, I've been riding and die we
- 40:20Speaker 1: lose a draw, and they've been all losses, so finally
- 40:24Speaker 1: we get a tie. We played the Pittsburgh Steelers all
- 40:27Speaker 1: the way down to the last minute. We ain't got
- 40:30Speaker 1: no damn kicker. I've been trying to figure out is

- 57:12Speaker 1: hold here. It is a strong. My husband's drinking is
- 57:18Speaker 1: no longer a secret. Dear Stephen Shirley, My husband and
- 57:22Speaker 1: I have been married for fifteen years and we have
- 57:24Speaker 1: two children. My husband is a functioning alcoholic. He can
- 57:29Speaker 1: work a full day without drinking, but as soon as
- 57:33Speaker 1: he's off the clock, he starts drinking. He drinks in private.
- 57:38Speaker 1: He doesn't leave his alcohol out where I can see it,
- 57:41Speaker 1: but I can always smell it in his cup. This
- 57:44Speaker 1: started shortly after we got married, and I allowed it
- 57:48Speaker 1: and never confronted him. I can always tell when he's
- 57:51Speaker 1: been drinking by the changes in his behavior and how
- 57:55Speaker 1: he treats me and the kids. It's gotten worse recently,
- 57:59Speaker 1: and I brought it to his attention. I told him
- 58:01Speaker 1: that I know exactly what he's up to. He says
- 58:04Speaker 1: that he drinks too unwind every now and then. Well,
- 58:07Speaker 1: a few weeks ago, he left work early for a
- 58:10Speaker 1: doctor's appointment, and later that evening, he came home in
- 58:13Speaker 1: an uber and he was totally wasted. He could not
- 58:17Speaker 1: stand up, and he was talking so much trash that
- 58:20Speaker 1: I had to tell the kids to leave the room.
- 58:23Speaker 1: He called me all kinds of names and told me
- 58:26Speaker 1: that he was miserable in our marriage. The next day,
- 58:32Speaker 1: I took the kids and left him. I've been staying
- 58:35Speaker 1: with my mom for three weeks, and during that time
- 58:38Speaker 1: I encouraged him to get some help. My husband is
- 58:41Speaker 1: great when he's sober, but he needs some professional help
- 58:44Speaker 1: with his drinking. I have checked out, and I'm no
- 58:47Speaker 1: longer trying to keep our marriage going. He visits me
- 58:51Speaker 1: and the kids and we still do some things as
- 58:53Speaker 1: a family, and he's always sober when we see him.
- 58:56Speaker 1: He wants more, but I don't. Neither of us can
- 59:00Speaker 1: or to live on our own. What should I do well?
- 59:04Speaker 1: I mean, the obvious thing is there's no kind of
- 59:07Speaker 1: marriage if you're just staying together because you can't afford
- 59:11Speaker 1: to live on your own, you can't afford to live apart.
- 59:14Speaker 1: That's no marriage. I mean, what about real love and
- 59:17Speaker 1: real relationship and a real marriage. I mean, you're absolutely
- 59:21Speaker 1: right as his wife and as his friend, hopefully to
- 59:25Speaker 1: encourage him to get some help, because UM, that and
- 59:28Speaker 1: the Lord himself, it seems, are the only things can
- 59:31Speaker 1: that can make this situation better and work this situation out. Um,
- 59:36Speaker 1: you know you've you've allowed it. You've been married for
- 59:38Speaker 1: fifteen years, you've allowed it. He started drinking shortly after
- 59:42Speaker 1: you got married, and you say you did allow it
- 59:44Speaker 1: and never confronted him about it. You can always tell
- 59:46Speaker 1: when he's drinking because you you can smell it. This
- 59:50Speaker 1: thing has blown up. It's blown out of proportion. Now
- 59:53Speaker 1: he's stumbling drunk when he comes in. He can't even
- 59:56Speaker 1: drive home. At least he has a wherewithal to know that. Um,
- 59:59Speaker 1: he shouldn't be driving when he's that wasted. So, UM,
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: I encourage you to continue to encourage him to get
- 1:00:07Speaker 1: some help. And if he doesn't get any help, Uh,
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: it does look like this marriage is over. Uh. And
- 1:00:12Speaker 1: that's unfortunate because you guys have kids. But he says
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: he's been miserable since the very beginning. What Steve, Yeah,
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: he says he's been miserable since since the very beginning.
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: And you're not willing, you don't want anymore either. Um,
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: But the part about you can't afford to live on
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: your own. You're gonna have to work that out. Get
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: a second job, do whatever you have to do, because
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: it looks like this marriage is doomed, especially if he
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: doesn't get any help and change his behavior. Steve, let me,
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: let me, let me just read something to y'all. Okay,
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: my husband and I have been made fifteen years. We
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: have two children. My husband is a functioning alcoholic. He
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: could work a full day without drinking, but as soon
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: as he get off the block, he started drinking. Do
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: that sound for me? I don't know what you're saying, Steve.
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: I hope, I hope. I don't know. Feen years got
- 1:01:12Speaker 1: two key. No one we know wrote this letter, Steve.
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: I didn't ask you, do you know who wrote it?
- 1:01:21Speaker 1: I asked you that this part right here sound from
- 1:01:25Speaker 1: milion to anybody other than me? No? Well to me, well,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: it sounds familiar to me. What are you saying? Just
- 1:01:35Speaker 1: say it anyway? He started. Here's another one. This started shortly.
- 1:01:48Speaker 1: I'll say it again. This started shortly. Oh word everybody
- 1:01:56Speaker 1: that that sounds like anybody? We know why? Because of
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: the word shortly, shortly, m this letter is full of clue.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: It is not a mystery that we're trying to solve.
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: We're trying to help this lady. And this is what
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: she said. I can always tell when he'd been drinking
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: by the changes in his behavior. Who the hell came? Everybody?
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: Everybody knows somebody when they start drinking. She's sitting up
- 1:02:28Speaker 1: here like she'd a had a damn revolution or revelation
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: comes in here talking about No, I can always tell
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: when he's been drinking. Who can't. I'll be back, Uh yeah,
- 1:02:40Speaker 1: with part two of your response. Today's subject is my
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: husband's drinking is no longer a secret? Will be back
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: at twenty three after the hour you're listening, Steve Show.
- 1:02:53Speaker 1: All right, Steve, let's go. Let's recap. The subject is
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: my husband's drinking is no longer a secret? That is
- 1:03:01Speaker 1: the subject of today's Strawberry Letter, and we're waiting for
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: part two of your response, Steve Harvey. Let's go. Well,
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: here's a dude who this woman claims as a functioning alcoholic.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: He drinks in private. Uh, he never leave alcohol out
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: where they could see it. This started, uh shortly know,
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: this started after they gotten married, and uh, she never
- 1:03:26Speaker 1: confronted him. She can always tell when you've been drinking,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: because it changes in your behavior and the way you
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: treat me and the kid has gotten worse recently. I
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: bought it to his attention. I told him I know
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: exactly what he's up to. He says he drinks unwine
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: every now ned well. A few weeks ago, he left
- 1:03:45Speaker 1: work early for doctor's appointment. Later that evening, he came
- 1:03:49Speaker 1: home in the uber and was totally wasted. This when
- 1:03:52Speaker 1: you drunk, when you leave your car, and you don't
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: leave your car voluntary some apole after, Hey, hey you
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: can't dry, we're calling you a uber and let's thank
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: God for stuff like that. He couldn't stand up. He
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: was talking so much trash. I had to tell the
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: kids to lead the room. He called me all kinds
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: of names. See, when you get drunk, it come out.
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: And finally he told me, this is what I was
- 1:04:24Speaker 1: thinking the drinking was about. He was miserable in our marriage. Yeah,
- 1:04:29Speaker 1: that's what he said, miserable. But let me share something
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: with you, old lady. You've been miserable too, if you
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: honestly think about it, and I'll show you why. I
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: know you've been miserable because the next day you took
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: the kids and you left. Okay, you threw that's how
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: you feel. You're gonna. I've been staying with my mom
- 1:04:48Speaker 1: for three weeks, and during that time I've encouraged him
- 1:04:51Speaker 1: to get some help, and he needs help. My husband
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: is great when he's sober, but he needs some professional
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: help with his drinking. I've checked out and I no
- 1:04:59Speaker 1: longer try to keep our marriage going. That's cause you've
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: been through for a long time. This was just the
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: tip of the iceberg. This was just distraw that broke
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: the camel's back. You got sick of it. This was
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: the last time. See, you've been miserable too, So don't
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: wear this just cause this drunk dude and came in
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: here and had a revelation in front of you and
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: a kid. I've been miserable. Let the marriage. You went soberly,
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: you went, well, I'll be damned. I have to and
- 1:05:29Speaker 1: me and the kids is over mama's house. Now you're
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: gonna have to go on theo act like a girl.
- 1:05:33Speaker 1: Now he the one got to move you go back
- 1:05:35Speaker 1: to the hour. Let him move it for a long time. Yeah,
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: he visits me and the kids. We still do some
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: things together. The family, and he's always sober when we seen.
- 1:05:47Speaker 1: He wants more, but I don't neither of us can
- 1:05:50Speaker 1: afford to live on our own. What should I do? Well?
- 1:05:54Speaker 1: You fit to be roommates with alcohol? That's pretty much it.
- 1:06:00Speaker 1: You ain't got the money to go nowhere. He ain't
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: got enough money to put you out. Something you're feeling
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: live with an alcoholic as a roommate. Text telling kids
- 1:06:12Speaker 1: quick calling him daddy, started calling him Jerome. Yeah, let's
- 1:06:17Speaker 1: telling kids and hit your daddy no more. He's a roommate. Uh,
- 1:06:21Speaker 1: don't do nothing together as a family. No more. When
- 1:06:24Speaker 1: he come in the room, y'all cut the TV off
- 1:06:26Speaker 1: and leave. But he's sober when they see him when
- 1:06:29Speaker 1: they go out on family out, and he's gonna get
- 1:06:31Speaker 1: drunk unless he gets some help. Yeah, yeah, he definitely
- 1:06:35Speaker 1: needs and if he wants more, he's gonna drink when
- 1:06:37Speaker 1: he gets off work, and you're gonna have another episode.
- 1:06:41Speaker 1: My suggestion to you is follow your hearts. He has
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: to get help before he can come back. He probably
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: a great guy, like you say, But after he gets
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: help and completes the program twelve step that every winds
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: he probably had to go on in I'm Jerome, I
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: have an alcoholic and you really just gonna have to
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: go and say that because they make you say that
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: at the meetings. I ain't ever been to the meetings before.
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: I've seen it on TV, like I had to go
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: into I was in the group one time that was,
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: you know, with physical disadvantages. I was in the group
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: one time when you had to stand up and admit
- 1:07:17Speaker 1: your flaws. I've had to do that before. And what
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: did you stand up? Steve? And I have big lips.
- 1:07:25Speaker 1: I've had to say that, bignonymous. Yeah. And then but
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: the ladies standing next to me, how I'm Claire and
- 1:07:32Speaker 1: I have a huge nose. And I looked at her
- 1:07:34Speaker 1: and I went, damn, man, you should have been in
- 1:07:38Speaker 1: this class where you be. I don't know how you
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: deal with this. Can you see anybody on your right
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: lifting with your other group? Is there problem is? You know?
- 1:07:52Speaker 1: I was looking at getting into him. You know what
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: I'm saying. I just try to stay abreast to these
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: types of help groups cases. People out there listening in
- 1:07:59Speaker 1: straw Bed letter that need help. You know, they got
- 1:08:01Speaker 1: they got class with high Yeah, I'm Harold and I'm ugly.
- 1:08:06Speaker 1: That class hasn't waiting this though. You can't just go
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: get in that one to get in that. Yeah, why
- 1:08:17Speaker 1: do you get help for that though? I mean from
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: being ugly? You know what you do. You can't get
- 1:08:22Speaker 1: help form being ugly? You have you heard you learn
- 1:08:25Speaker 1: coping cooking how to deal with it? Like, you know,
- 1:08:27Speaker 1: don't don't stay in the mirror longer than ten second
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: because you can't time to second. Just do your hair
- 1:08:35Speaker 1: and get on. Don't you brush your teeth in the
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: mirror and stuff? And I don't. I'll be in my
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: calls and brushing my teeth because I know, not standing
- 1:08:44Speaker 1: there and look at it, because I'm gonna see something wrong.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: Because if you start yourself long enough, you know, one
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: of your eyes ain't the same size as double one. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:08:52Speaker 1: you just kept it too. Yeah, one of my lips
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: is bigger than the other one, which one top of
- 1:08:57Speaker 1: bottom the bottom easily to bottom me candy bottom around
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: like walking around with five sugar face that you're crazy. Well,
- 1:09:15Speaker 1: I know, when we try on shoes, sometimes one of
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: our like our left foot can be larger than our
- 1:09:20Speaker 1: right buttter vice versa. Sometimes that is the case, you know,
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: So maybe there's some truth to what you're saying, some
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: validity to what braws too on that. Yeah, yeah, again,
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: it definitely can happen. It's you think. All right, well, listen,
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: we gotta go. Thank you for that, Steve. You know
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: I'm here for you. Yeah, I see. You can email
- 1:09:50Speaker 1: us or Instagram what's your thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: at Steve Harvey FM, or you can go to My
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: Girl Shirley and coming up in ten minutes, it's our
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: girl from the Cheryl Underwood will be here. She's had
- 1:10:02Speaker 1: an interesting week. She'll talk about it right after this.
- 1:10:05Speaker 1: You're listening to Steve Show. Coming up at the top
- 1:10:09Speaker 1: of the hour, Carla will be spilling the tea with
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: Carla's reality update. But right now, Steve, please introduce our
- 1:10:16Speaker 1: girl from the Talk. Hey, Hey, hey, Carrol, it's been
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: a tough week for you, girl. Oh hold on, let
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: me catch my breath cause I'm trying to put my blouse.
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: I'm trying to squeeze on that fat in this little
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: bitty shart I'm trying to wear. Carol. What well? Okay,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: as we all know, your friend Julie Chenn, farewell to
- 1:10:48Speaker 1: the Talk. Fairwell this week and schol you were really
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: broken up about it. We want to remind uh the
- 1:10:55Speaker 1: audience what touching and loving words that Julie Chen said
- 1:10:58Speaker 1: about you. Take a listen, Cheryl. Thank you for being
- 1:11:02Speaker 1: the perfect go to partner for the last seven years.
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: I opened you close and you always bring down the house.
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: We called ourselves the book Ends, remember, and we always
- 1:11:13Speaker 1: laughed when we said it to each other. Your wit
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: and timing and humor and compassion and intelligence is simply unparalleled.
- 1:11:22Speaker 1: You are incredible, am I'm gonna tell you something. When
- 1:11:29Speaker 1: you hear me talk about two friends among my other
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: friends in the show, they have two of them. Steve
- 1:11:34Speaker 1: Harvey is one and Julie Chen is the other one.
- 1:11:38Speaker 1: When you're talking about somebody that is saved my life
- 1:11:40Speaker 1: more than I know, because I'm about to cry. You know,
- 1:11:43Speaker 1: people go through things in this business and uh, it
- 1:11:47Speaker 1: looks bad and people say, oh, they got everything they
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: could deal with it. I did not get to see
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: the footage before it aired, and I'm ready to be
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: the meme. You know, it's gonna be me and Michael Jordan,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: know Michael the Red Eyes, and then gonna be me
- 1:12:03Speaker 1: and Michael Jordan and I didn't know what was going
- 1:12:06Speaker 1: to happen. So I'm trying to wear a mob or
- 1:12:08Speaker 1: what they called it, dad the bond to Not. I'm
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: trying to wear my bond to not with my whop
- 1:12:12Speaker 1: ear rings. And I didn't want to juxtapose that image
- 1:12:17Speaker 1: of me crying in something. Now you're sucker and everything
- 1:12:20Speaker 1: that you're doing. No, this is a person that I've
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: been sitting across for seven seasons that we laughed when
- 1:12:26Speaker 1: we first would tell them Joe about being black and yellow.
- 1:12:28Speaker 1: When the Black and Yellow came out, we was joking
- 1:12:31Speaker 1: to each other, you know, when I wanted to call
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: somebody when crazy rich Asians came out, and I was like,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: I should call Julie, we should go see and he
- 1:12:38Speaker 1: was like, Nae, that's like if somebody called you and
- 1:12:41Speaker 1: let's go see Black Panther, I don't know how that's
- 1:12:43Speaker 1: gonna go. You know what I'm saying, When you're friends
- 1:12:45Speaker 1: with somebody, you care about what people think and say
- 1:12:48Speaker 1: about them. Because she's really for everything she had, She's
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: always been a friend to me. She was the person
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: when I first got on the show, I was writing
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: to joke Stephen. I was taking a profound to the
- 1:13:00Speaker 1: out of him. And and this dude named Kingsley was
- 1:13:03Speaker 1: standings in practice and say, and you know, they clear
- 1:13:06Speaker 1: the words you could say. And he was like, that's
- 1:13:08Speaker 1: not funny because he's British. And so I said, he said,
- 1:13:11Speaker 1: how did Joe go? So I told how to Joe go?
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: About my best girlfriend Peaches Vanessa Granberry, how to Chicago
- 1:13:17Speaker 1: crying over my husband funeral, good joke, hilarious, right, And
- 1:13:21Speaker 1: so I told him without the profanity, said that's not funny.
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: So then they said, hi, go and I told the
- 1:13:26Speaker 1: Joe with the profanity, and they was dying laughing. They said,
- 1:13:29Speaker 1: say it like that. It was Julie that was step
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: up and go. Clearness for her to say let her
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: have this spotlight. She was always the person that when
- 1:13:37Speaker 1: she got a good lab because she was supposed to
- 1:13:40Speaker 1: be the chin box, you know, the person that's not funny.
- 1:13:43Speaker 1: Then she became funnier and then she impersonation. She got
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: all my references. And I'm not saying this to be
- 1:13:49Speaker 1: no sucker, you know how we say in the streets.
- 1:13:51Speaker 1: I'm saying that because never in this world do you
- 1:13:54Speaker 1: think you're gonna have a friend like this. And when
- 1:13:56Speaker 1: your friend is going through something true or not, whatever
- 1:14:00Speaker 1: you're feeling about it, that's still your friend. Just like
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: in my mind, Steve Harvey, it's my big brother. Who
- 1:14:06Speaker 1: is my closest, dearest friend. Like that song Pepper Beard
- 1:14:10Speaker 1: you got son and I saw on your show where
- 1:14:12Speaker 1: you're helping middle aged women. Fine, dudes, what is happening?
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: What is happening now? Steve Harvey, come out, man. I
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: would like to somebody's shoulder question. What's the question? Julie
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: Chien made a statement when she was leaving that she
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: thought a good replacement would be for her was for Carrie,
- 1:14:36Speaker 1: a novel carry. I had her on my show yesterday
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: on my straight talk panel for and I asked you
- 1:14:45Speaker 1: about it. What she say? She was really moved, she said, Wow.
- 1:14:51Speaker 1: Just for her to even mention her Asian sister, it
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: speaks volumes to the quality of person she is. That's right,
- 1:15:00Speaker 1: because it's not that we have to look out for
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: one another, right, But for her to look out and
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: point directly, and I know I'm an Asian woman and
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: I know she is, And for her to think that
- 1:15:11Speaker 1: the ideal replacement would be another was just to say, hey,
- 1:15:16Speaker 1: we are all valuable, And she said, of course, I
- 1:15:18Speaker 1: would be honored if they asked me, right, she said,
- 1:15:23Speaker 1: you know, but it was more of what she did
- 1:15:25Speaker 1: that was more moving. Absolutely a class act, a true
- 1:15:29Speaker 1: boss in this business. And listen, just because I'm pro
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: me and my people don't mean I'm anti somebody else.
- 1:15:36Speaker 1: So if you qualified to get the job. But we
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: got to open the door. People of color have got
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: to open the door for each other. What is wrong
- 1:15:43Speaker 1: with her saying that? To see, they don't have to
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: open the door for each other because they owned the door,
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: the building and everything to go around it. We have
- 1:15:50Speaker 1: to open the door for each other. So I was
- 1:15:52Speaker 1: proud of her. I was proud the way she said it.
- 1:15:55Speaker 1: I was proud that people can see that she had feelings.
- 1:15:57Speaker 1: I was proud to see that this was a bitter
- 1:15:59Speaker 1: sweet moment where she has to go on and live
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: her life in this town when station in life and
- 1:16:05Speaker 1: how people feel about you in relationships and connections are
- 1:16:10Speaker 1: She's done nothing. That's right, She's done nothing. She is
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: standing by her husband absolutely, who is uh absolututely brilliant businessman. Right,
- 1:16:23Speaker 1: that's nothing about nothing else. That's why I haven't really
- 1:16:26Speaker 1: been following the story and so like you know, once again,
- 1:16:30Speaker 1: before I say this, the side of him, I know,
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: that's right, that's something that's happened. I don't know what
- 1:16:37Speaker 1: it's got to be dealt with. That's how I look
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: at the stage. This dude was I had never been
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: to a super Bowl. Less Moon Vest invited me to
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: the super Bowl in Miami. I've never been to. This
- 1:16:48Speaker 1: is the nineties something. I'm sitting up there just in awe,
- 1:16:51Speaker 1: you know. And then just I saw him at the fight.
- 1:16:53Speaker 1: We talked that morning, so you know, thank you so much. Okay, Okay, Timmy, Hey,
- 1:17:02Speaker 1: I'm already strong and prayed up and I'll be sitting
- 1:17:05Speaker 1: at that table as long as they turn the lights
- 1:17:07Speaker 1: on me. Coming up at the top of the hour,
- 1:17:10Speaker 1: it's Carla's Reality Update. Right after this, you're listening to
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: Steve Harvey Morning Show. Tommy, you know what to do. Yep,
- 1:17:20Speaker 1: it's that time. She is here. Carlin Ferroll with Carlin's
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: Reality Update. All right, thank you, neph you. Let's talk
- 1:17:26Speaker 1: about Basketball Wives the reunion show. Really, so, Jennifer Williams,
- 1:17:33Speaker 1: she was not there. She has been, you know what,
- 1:17:37Speaker 1: surely she has been at the center of a lot
- 1:17:38Speaker 1: of drama this season, starting with you know, getting into
- 1:17:42Speaker 1: it with Shawnee. Apparently Jennifer. She said she didn't feel
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: safe enough to attend the reunion show. So Jennifer she um,
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: I don't know, she didn't get a chance to say
- 1:17:54Speaker 1: her side of what happened this season, And how about
- 1:17:57Speaker 1: I started the mess? How about hell? How about being
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: the instigator? Her biggest regret, I think was exposing that
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: rumor that ever Lozatta allegedly slept with Shawnee's ex Shack.
- 1:18:11Speaker 1: That remember when all that went down, That was ugly,
- 1:18:14Speaker 1: That was very I don't know what I did. I
- 1:18:17Speaker 1: didn't do anything, didn't do it. I don't know whatever
- 1:18:24Speaker 1: we're talking about. You know, I'm just I'm doing with it.
- 1:18:29Speaker 1: Don't need a holiday, Kobe, Jennifer. She also denied that
- 1:18:37Speaker 1: she told Shannie that Evelyn was a bad mother to
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: her daughter. Shanis, did you see that when they went
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: on that trip to Amsterdam? And uh, Evelyn jumped up
- 1:18:47Speaker 1: because you know, you can't be talking about folks who
- 1:18:49Speaker 1: you know, being a parent, parenting and all that. So
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: that was ugly. That was ugly, and things went back
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: and forth that Jennifer wasn't there. And then Tammy Emmy apologized.
- 1:19:01Speaker 1: Remember she made these comments about Evelyn's domestic altercation. You
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: remember that we talked about cha. You remember when she
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: said that she in and she Tammy apologized. She said
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: she was out of order for saying that she did
- 1:19:18Speaker 1: not have a right to speak about what happened between
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: Evelyn and Chad and the whole domestic case. But Evelyn
- 1:19:23Speaker 1: did not want to hear her apology. Finally, Tammy had enough.
- 1:19:27Speaker 1: She walked off the set during the show. Yes, they
- 1:19:32Speaker 1: do that a lot, Yeah, they do. They do. It's dramatic,
- 1:19:36Speaker 1: tramatically dramatic. Yeah, and she just said she had enough.
- 1:19:39Speaker 1: She asked where her flat shoes were walked outside the Carla,
- 1:19:46Speaker 1: Can I just say that they have flat shoes in
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: the basket on the side. I'm not mad at that.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Can I say her favorite? You know, I love Jackie.
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: Jackie is the crazy one on the show, Christie white Man.
- 1:19:59Speaker 1: She's so But can I say she was? She was?
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: She was looking fabulous. I just want to say I
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: loved her. Yeah, she was looking good. She was looking good.
- 1:20:08Speaker 1: And I love Malaysia. I love her. I love Malaysia. Um,
- 1:20:13Speaker 1: Tammy posted on the Gram. You know, everybody was like, well,
- 1:20:15Speaker 1: what's going on? She walked off the show. Shanny didn't
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: know what was happening. And you know, she is technically
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: the boss. She was one of the executive producers on
- 1:20:23Speaker 1: the show, and she posted on the Gram it's been
- 1:20:27Speaker 1: a wild ride, but she was just ready for something else.
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: Now some people are speculating too, because you know, Tammy
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: has lost a lot of weight. She talked about having diabetes,
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: and so people are saying maybe she's just trying to
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: focus on her health and she didn't want to deal
- 1:20:40Speaker 1: with the drama anymore. So you don't really know if
- 1:20:43Speaker 1: she is coming back to the show. So hit me
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: up at lips by Carla. Who do you think should
- 1:20:48Speaker 1: leave basketball? Why? Look healthy? Right? Yeah? Yeah. Some people
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: are just saying she didn't want to be um and
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: she came on my show. I didn't even know who
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: she was for a minute. Her face was very different. Yeah,
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: yeah she's but um. You know that's what people are saying. See,
- 1:21:09Speaker 1: maybe she just want to focus on other things and
- 1:21:12Speaker 1: not I just don't I know it much. Yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: I can't have no show like that. Go live your life. Yeah,
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: I gotta have some peace. So back to basketball. Wife's
- 1:21:30Speaker 1: real quick. This is my social media question. Who do
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: you think she'll leave the show? Some folks feel that
- 1:21:33Speaker 1: Shawnny should probably go even though she's executive producer, she's
- 1:21:37Speaker 1: the boss. I don't think she's gonna go. She's not
- 1:21:39Speaker 1: gonna fire herself. But Evelyn, Tammy, Jennifer, who do you
- 1:21:43Speaker 1: think the New Girls? Hit me up at lips by
- 1:21:46Speaker 1: Carla and finally sure you're talking about this? What? Yeah,
- 1:22:00Speaker 1: she's Beau. I don't even but if she ain't on it,
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: she was so upset with Tammy because Carla remembers she
- 1:22:10Speaker 1: mentioned that, Um, she was mad that Tammy said that
- 1:22:13Speaker 1: about Evelyn and Ocho Sinko because Evelyn said she has
- 1:22:17Speaker 1: a permanent scar on her forehead. Now because yeah, behind
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: you know the fight between her and Chad. How are
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: you doing in the day. I just don't see that. Man.
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: I don't understand a man. I just really don't. Man.
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: I don't care how hot it gets. Your job is
- 1:22:37Speaker 1: as a man is to walk away. Look, man, you
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: can defend yourself by blocking it all like that. I'm okay,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: but dog, your job as a man is to walk away. Now,
- 1:22:48Speaker 1: I'm sorry that times have changed and all this here,
- 1:22:51Speaker 1: and ain't nobody teaching young dudes this? No more? But dog,
- 1:22:55Speaker 1: if a woman hits you, man, walk away? How bad
- 1:22:57Speaker 1: can it be? She hit you? If you got enough
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: to punch back, you got enough to walk away. Period.
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: Man hidding a woman, man, it's of no value. And Steve,
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: you're absolutely right. But as parents, now parents have daughters.
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: I always tell my daughter too because of what you said.
- 1:23:18Speaker 1: Everyone wasn't raised the same. Do not put your hands
- 1:23:22Speaker 1: on a man. Not a parents told us that told
- 1:23:27Speaker 1: us that, don't ever put your hands on him. Don't
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: do it. But now let me tell you this though,
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: if my daughter do put her hand on you, I
- 1:23:34Speaker 1: hadn't told him all not to. And so far I
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: think so good. I think so I think so far,
- 1:23:40Speaker 1: so good. But if she do slap you, you can't
- 1:23:45Speaker 1: slap a backk just go you come over here and
- 1:23:48Speaker 1: tell me, man, hey almost trip your daughter slap Let
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: me call Yeah? All right, all right, Carl, thank you,
- 1:23:57Speaker 1: thank you so much. That was good. All right? Come
- 1:24:00Speaker 1: up next. A teen returns a purse with ten thousand
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: dollars inside. Yeah, teenager will never do that we'll talk
- 1:24:09Speaker 1: about it. I've talked about it at twenty minutes after
- 1:24:12Speaker 1: the are when we come back? All right, right after this. Okay,
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: you're listening to the Steve Harvey Morning Show. So Steve, guys,
- 1:24:22Speaker 1: listen to this. Uh. Tommy Jr. A California teenager found
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: a purse with ten thousand dollars inside, Okay, and decided
- 1:24:30Speaker 1: to be a good Samaritan and return it. His name
- 1:24:34Speaker 1: is ramy Z. He was driving home from school when
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: he noticed a black bag in the middle of the road. Yeah. Yeah, yeah.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: He was to California black teenage? Is it Calihornia black teenage?
- 1:24:46Speaker 1: Ramy Z ramy z Uh. He searched the purse to
- 1:24:53Speaker 1: find the owner's info and was shocked to see the money.
- 1:24:55Speaker 1: To shot to see the ten thousand dollars. When he
- 1:24:58Speaker 1: couldn't find the owner's number, he and his parents turned
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: the bag into the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's office. The
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: sheriff the law. Yes, how would I dragged the law
- 1:25:14Speaker 1: into ronie Z is sixteen years old, Steve? Why would
- 1:25:18Speaker 1: I tell my mom and dad about it? What is
- 1:25:21Speaker 1: they doing? Though? Okay? When I was six, I have
- 1:25:25Speaker 1: found ten dollars. It would have been a brand new
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: Maverick in the drive, because you can get a brand
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: new Maverick back then for about six I had a
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: brand new Maverick. Wow back left the black Roma. Tom
- 1:25:40Speaker 1: what out man? Yeah, he's sixteen years old, he says.
- 1:25:46Speaker 1: Now listen to what he says. You may agree or not,
- 1:25:49Speaker 1: but he says to me, I figured this is the
- 1:25:52Speaker 1: right thing to do. Well, listen, this is what what else?
- 1:25:57Speaker 1: He said? Steve? If the role were reversed and I
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: had lost something with a significant sum of money inside,
- 1:26:04Speaker 1: I know I would want it back for sure. Where
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: you still be, won't it? You have to do better.
- 1:26:10Speaker 1: Keep up with your people, understand when they got a
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: blessing to standing right in the face. Well, okay, eventually
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: the police officer he did the right thing. I think
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: he did the right thing. When you found something right
- 1:26:34Speaker 1: not necessary? Okay, we listen. Listen. They found the owner,
- 1:26:38Speaker 1: The police found the owner. The sheriff got you pack
- 1:26:45Speaker 1: the stuff you didn't. Owner was grateful. Let me show
- 1:26:49Speaker 1: you how grateful the owner was. The owner gave Ramy
- 1:26:53Speaker 1: one hundred dollars. I see right there, right there, head
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: had a whole drop in the middle of the school year.
- 1:27:06Speaker 1: What I walked back in the hall. I'd a bought
- 1:27:09Speaker 1: the house across the street from my mom. Yeah, you
- 1:27:11Speaker 1: would have left your parents. The owner believes she left
- 1:27:14Speaker 1: her purse. You know how sometimes when you're getting in
- 1:27:16Speaker 1: your car, your hands are full. You might have something
- 1:27:18Speaker 1: in your hand and you put it on your roof
- 1:27:19Speaker 1: of the car and you forget. You get in the car.
- 1:27:22Speaker 1: And do you know how many girls I would have
- 1:27:26Speaker 1: been treating down at Dippy's Wings. Don'twhere dipping shot? If
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: I find ten thousand dollars, I'm gonna be the most
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: popular ugly ass dude at the school. I might be ugly,
- 1:27:40Speaker 1: but I got ten friends. Anybody hungry want to go
- 1:27:44Speaker 1: to Dippy Man. So you guys would have given would
- 1:27:48Speaker 1: not have given the money back? Surely this wouldn't even
- 1:27:52Speaker 1: be a story, because wuld nobody know if I have
- 1:27:53Speaker 1: took that money and out of my daddy and told
- 1:27:56Speaker 1: my dad I found them thousand, He said, come on
- 1:27:59Speaker 1: in the back room, alright. First, we'll be back right
- 1:28:05Speaker 1: after this with more. Man. You're listening to the Steve Show,
- 1:28:12Speaker 1: all right? So the New York Times mix up angela
- 1:28:15Speaker 1: basset and Amar Rossa. Okay, Angela Bassett and amar Rossa,
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: they don't look anything alike. Okay, they're both black women. Uh,
- 1:28:27Speaker 1: and they're both ones in politics and ones in entertainment. Okay,
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: that's about where their similarities stop and start and stop,
- 1:28:35Speaker 1: I should say. However, the New York Times mix them
- 1:28:37Speaker 1: up in their emery Emmy coverage. Uh, there's a photo
- 1:28:41Speaker 1: of them which featured Um, there's a photo which featured
- 1:28:44Speaker 1: Angela Bassett with Tiffany Hattish and brand new Emmy winner
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: Rachel Brush and Brassnahan, I should say. And yeah, they
- 1:28:54Speaker 1: appeared in the early edition of the art section. It
- 1:28:57Speaker 1: should be noted that Getty Images made the mistake first,
- 1:29:00Speaker 1: but the fact that no one at The Times caught it,
- 1:29:03Speaker 1: it was just shocking. Okay. Once they did catch it,
- 1:29:07Speaker 1: they tweeted out an apology and promised to issue a correction. Uh.
- 1:29:11Speaker 1: And you know, Steve, how the corrections are. There used
- 1:29:14Speaker 1: to be a small blurb in the paper under the
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: classifies of a dump trunk. Exactly, exactly right. The correction
- 1:29:22Speaker 1: is never bigger than the mistake or the same size. Uh. Naturally,
- 1:29:27Speaker 1: you know everyone on Twitter, they just went in on
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: the Times One Twitter user said, uh, do all dark
- 1:29:32Speaker 1: skinned black women look like look the same to your editors? Well,
- 1:29:36Speaker 1: Angela basid ever classy, and she's she's always classy and
- 1:29:40Speaker 1: and so eloquent and elegant. She tweeted off a picture
- 1:29:45Speaker 1: of Carrie Washington as Olivia Pope with the caption it's
- 1:29:49Speaker 1: handled and she accepted the Times apology. So there you go.
- 1:29:53Speaker 1: I don't know how she could take a difference. We
- 1:29:57Speaker 1: already know. I haven't seen any anything. Yeah, she's probably
- 1:30:07Speaker 1: happy if they made that mistake, if if her name
- 1:30:09Speaker 1: was mentioned, Yeah, she could probably sell a few more
- 1:30:12Speaker 1: books or something. Yeah, she don't have nothing to be man. Yeah,
- 1:30:15Speaker 1: and may I say that Angela Bassett looked beautiful. She
- 1:30:20Speaker 1: was stunning beautiful. Yeah. And they were saying she's sixty
- 1:30:23Speaker 1: years old. I find that so hard to believe. Yeah,
- 1:30:25Speaker 1: she looks fantastic. She looks fantastic. Yeah. And and they
- 1:30:30Speaker 1: said something, see this would be of interest to you
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: that when she cut out dairy, that's when she started
- 1:30:36Speaker 1: getting more muscle definition. Angela Bassett. Yeah, she's very very toning.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: To remember how great she looked when she played Tina Turner.
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: Her her arms, Yeah, so she I read somewhere that
- 1:30:49Speaker 1: they said she cut out dairy. My problem is I
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: have so much in me one day you should get
- 1:31:01Speaker 1: out of monsters. So man, I got some stuff in meat. Man.
- 1:31:08Speaker 1: But Angela Bassett looks fantastic. I'm just a big as
- 1:31:11Speaker 1: trashy love you definitely. Another entertainment news from the Real
- 1:31:19Speaker 1: Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Williams has announced that she is pregnant. Congratulations,
- 1:31:28Speaker 1: and her baby daddy is her new man entrepreneur Dennis McKinley.
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: So we said congratulations to you guys. Alright, Mommy, Yeah,
- 1:31:39Speaker 1: she wanted to have children. Yeah, she's always talked about
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: the fact that she wanted to have children. Yeah, I
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: got my too, Dad, What that is it? Alright, hang on,
- 1:31:57Speaker 1: we're coming up the last break of the day and

- 1:33:15Speaker 1: Right before we get to your closing remarks for today, UM,
- 1:33:18Speaker 1: we still want to remind everyone to please still keep
- 1:33:21Speaker 1: giving to our friends and neighbors and the Carolina's affected
- 1:33:25Speaker 1: by uh Florence. Please donate whatever you can't to the
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: Red Cross by texting the word Florence to nine zero
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: nine nine nine. We have to mention that President Trump
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: went out there to the Carolinas and uh, yeah, he
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: gave a speech. He was giving out food to the people,
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: talking to them, asking, yeah, asking them how they were,
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: how's the house? Because you know, he had gotten so
- 1:33:48Speaker 1: heavily criticized for throwing the paper towels when he went
- 1:33:51Speaker 1: down to Puerto Rico and just not being there. You know,
- 1:33:54Speaker 1: the people didn't feel like issues didn't get abolished, flood
- 1:34:02Speaker 1: water with the right. So he took a different approach
- 1:34:05Speaker 1: this time around him. Actually, somebody showed him the film. Yeah,
- 1:34:11Speaker 1: this is you may have been millennia. This is you
- 1:34:15Speaker 1: talking to some people who no longer have anywhere to live. Yeah,
- 1:34:19Speaker 1: so good for him. Yeah, all right, Steve, we're ready
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: for the closing remarks. Uh. This is uh for everybody,
- 1:34:30Speaker 1: including myself. This is for anyone who aspires to get more,
- 1:34:39Speaker 1: or to have more, to be blessed more, to acquire more.
- 1:34:45Speaker 1: How do you want to look at? Here's a deal.
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: All of our lives, we live, our lives in in bubbles,
- 1:34:56Speaker 1: so to speak. This is just an analogy everybody. We
- 1:34:59Speaker 1: all live ribs in the bubbles. And what I mean
- 1:35:01Speaker 1: by bubble is not a negative thing. It's that I'm saying.
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: This is the space that we operate in. This is
- 1:35:08Speaker 1: the gym we go to. This is the Starbucks that
- 1:35:11Speaker 1: we like. This is the church that we like to
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: go to. These are some of our favorite restaurants we
- 1:35:17Speaker 1: like to frequent. This is where we go with relations
- 1:35:21Speaker 1: of our relatives and all of this. These is our
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: clubs we go to for drinks and stuff like that.
- 1:35:27Speaker 1: This is the school we attend. This is where we
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: got a gym membership. This is where we socialize and live.
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: That's what I mean by bubble. Now here's the deal.
- 1:35:41Speaker 1: If you want more then what's in your bubble? Then
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: what you have to do is put more air in
- 1:35:54Speaker 1: your bubble. It don't bust, it expands, but you got
- 1:36:00Speaker 1: to breathe more air into it. How do you breathe
- 1:36:03Speaker 1: more air into your bubble? Steve, you gotta start dreaming bigger.
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: You gotta start wanting bigger. You gotta start keeping hope alive.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: You gotta hope for more. Now you gotta be willing
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: to put the work behind it. But in order to
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: expand your bubble, you got to breathe some air into
- 1:36:23Speaker 1: the bubble. You got to put something any whereas not
- 1:36:26Speaker 1: the same old church, the same old Starbucks, the same
- 1:36:29Speaker 1: old restaurant, the same old club, the same old gym.
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: You've got to breathe some air into that bubble. Expand
- 1:36:38Speaker 1: your bubble. I'm talking to myself. As good as a
- 1:36:46Speaker 1: bubble as I have. I would like to be able
- 1:36:50Speaker 1: to do some other things. Believe it or not, there's
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: limitations to what I can do. You may be looking
- 1:36:56Speaker 1: at me to my wow, man, what you got a
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: limitation on? You? Ball ain't talking about that. There are
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: still things I want in life. That's more to this.
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: So if I want more, including myself, I got to
- 1:37:12Speaker 1: breathe more and to the bubble. The bubble is yours
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: to control. That's the beauty of it. You have a say,
- 1:37:19Speaker 1: so in what what size bubble you got. You ain't
- 1:37:22Speaker 1: got to keep going to the same star books. You
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: could try to want somewhere else. You can expand your bubble.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: You ain't just got to go to that gym and
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: hear that mess, that train of talking. You don't go
- 1:37:34Speaker 1: to another gym. You tied to that pass something. He
- 1:37:37Speaker 1: ain't talking about nothing. You ain't growing heat feeding you
- 1:37:40Speaker 1: spiritually blow some air in your bubble. Go to another church.
- 1:37:45Speaker 1: You know when you're hearing the same thing, when it
- 1:37:47Speaker 1: ain't working for you. You ain't got to go to
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: the same happy hour. You ain't met nobody over there
- 1:37:53Speaker 1: since you've been going, but since it's the happy hour
- 1:37:56Speaker 1: closest to the house and it's convenient, you keep going.
- 1:37:58Speaker 1: You ain't met nobody. You ain't net work getting passed
- 1:38:00Speaker 1: out of business call. You ain't did nothing. You need
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: some more and your bubble, and the only person that
- 1:38:06Speaker 1: can add more in your bubble is you. You have
- 1:38:10Speaker 1: got to change your attitude. You've got to put more
- 1:38:13Speaker 1: and your bubble. You got a dream, bigger. Stop wanting
- 1:38:17Speaker 1: just what's in your paycheck, because that's inside the bubble already.
- 1:38:22Speaker 1: You already got what you can afford. It's already in
- 1:38:24Speaker 1: your bubble. You need a bigger bubble. The only person
- 1:38:29Speaker 1: can breathe and into your bubble is you. You blow
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: in this bubble. It's like if you got bubble gum
- 1:38:34Speaker 1: then when you was a kid used to bubble zooka
- 1:38:35Speaker 1: bubble gum, and y'all be sitting around trying to blow bubble.
- 1:38:38Speaker 1: Who had the biggest bubble? Well, guess what. Nobody can
- 1:38:42Speaker 1: affect your bubble but you, you the dude. You gotta
- 1:38:46Speaker 1: put more and your bubble. If you won't more, you
- 1:38:51Speaker 1: gotta believe more. If you won't more, you gotta imagine more.
- 1:38:56Speaker 1: If you won't more, you gotta see more for yourself.
- 1:39:00Speaker 1: Now do you get through seeing and won't and believing
- 1:39:02Speaker 1: and tripping and hoping? You got to go to work.
- 1:39:06Speaker 1: You've got to go to work. But guess what your
- 1:39:09Speaker 1: bubble will explain. And when your bubble explance, your existence
