- 2:16Speaker 1: the full one one guy you won't know about entertaining
- 2:19Speaker 1: what's going on. He's the four one one. He's the

- 2:25Speaker 1: My next Ins is a Washington, d C. Based American

- 2:39Speaker 1: news channels like CNN, h L, n MSNBC. Everythy magazine

- 2:52Speaker 1: under forty. Please Welcome to Money Making Conversations for the
- 2:55Speaker 1: first time TV host and pop culture expert John Murray,
- 3:01Speaker 1: The Seun the Morning Man. I'm feeling good, my friend,
- 3:06Speaker 1: I'm feeling really really good. Brother. Long time, long time,
- 3:09Speaker 1: we've we've talked a live. We know a lot of
- 3:11Speaker 1: people were not good friends. Uh uh out there that
- 3:15Speaker 1: we always cross lanes. And so how are you doing
- 3:18Speaker 1: right now in your life? And where are you? Where
- 3:20Speaker 1: are you calling me from? Man, I'm home in Washington,
- 3:23Speaker 1: d C. And I got really nervous last night because
- 3:25Speaker 1: I'm a huge w w E fan and so last
- 3:29Speaker 1: night was our super Bowl. They had their WrestleMania pay
- 3:31Speaker 1: per view, and so we have Uh. The w w
- 3:35Speaker 1: E Championship was won by a black man, which is
- 3:39Speaker 1: the first time in the business. You know, The Rock
- 3:42Speaker 1: also hosted the championship at one point, but the company
- 3:45Speaker 1: celebrated his some moing side of his heritage, and they
- 3:49Speaker 1: didn't they didn't present him as a black man. So
- 3:51Speaker 1: this is the first time that a real brother who
- 3:55Speaker 1: identifies as a brother, who's bed position as a brother
- 3:58Speaker 1: wasn't the belt. And I was hooping and holler and
- 4:00Speaker 1: so much. I was like, oh, I gotta do a
- 4:02Speaker 1: radio interview in the morning. I might need to pull
- 4:04Speaker 1: this back a little bit. So, Um, it's been a
- 4:06Speaker 1: good weekend, man, I've been excited to talk to you. Um,
- 4:10Speaker 1: and it's been an amazing start to two guys of
- 4:12Speaker 1: the nicety man. So many things going on. Okay, we
- 4:15Speaker 1: can't forget now Becky lynch Now I'm excited for Becky Liz.
- 4:21Speaker 1: Let me find out you down who have to go
- 4:24Speaker 1: to a match together? Um, but yeah, I was excited
- 4:28Speaker 1: about Becky lynch Man. But listen, Kofi kings Man, who
- 4:31Speaker 1: won the belt last night, is a friend of mine,
- 4:34Speaker 1: and you know, his journey has really inspired me because
- 4:37Speaker 1: you know, the TV component of my career has been
- 4:40Speaker 1: my has been my face. Two is in my act too.
- 4:43Speaker 1: You know, I started as an entertainment writer, which put
- 4:46Speaker 1: me into radio, and the radio and writing was an
- 4:50Speaker 1: amazing blessing for me. I did a syndicated morning show
- 4:54Speaker 1: for six years. I was at the number one African
- 4:56Speaker 1: American website for seven years. I literally got to see
- 5:00Speaker 1: the world or somebody else's dime, make amazing relationships, do
- 5:05Speaker 1: bucket list experiences, and make money while doing it. But
- 5:09Speaker 1: at the end of the day, I went through a
- 5:10Speaker 1: phase about maybe five or six years ago where I
- 5:13Speaker 1: really started to feel burned out and I was unfulfilled
- 5:17Speaker 1: because you know, that was my Plan B, and my
- 5:20Speaker 1: Plan B was an amazing blessing, but it was really
- 5:23Speaker 1: distracting me from my Plan A, which was television. I
- 5:26Speaker 1: got into this business because I saw guys like Tom
- 5:29Speaker 1: bergeron and we just filming at our Cineo hall, and
- 5:34Speaker 1: I wanted to be in the hosting space. I wanted
- 5:36Speaker 1: to do daytime talk, I wanted to do specialty TV
- 5:39Speaker 1: on Caveboy and so um I needed to work back
- 5:42Speaker 1: towards that. So watching my friend Kofy, who I had
- 5:45Speaker 1: just had dinner with him maybe about five years ago,
- 5:48Speaker 1: when he was at a very low point in his career.
- 5:51Speaker 1: He was frustrated the company wasn't really doing anything with him.
- 5:55Speaker 1: They hadn't launched this at new uh TAG team that
- 5:58Speaker 1: he was a part of called Didn't You Day, and
- 6:01Speaker 1: he's just gonna trying to figure out where the journey
- 6:03Speaker 1: went from there. And so to see where he was
- 6:05Speaker 1: then and him even thinking about, you know, hanging up
- 6:08Speaker 1: his trunk and using his marketing degree somewhere else, and
- 6:12Speaker 1: to watch them win this championship last night, it was
- 6:16Speaker 1: just great encouragement for a guy like me who's hustling
- 6:20Speaker 1: in the phase two of his career to say, sometimes
- 6:22Speaker 1: if you just keep doing the work and stay on
- 6:25Speaker 1: the journey, all the elements of line up just the
- 6:27Speaker 1: way they're supposed to. It's really true, because first of all,
- 6:29Speaker 1: you have to give a props because our conversation wasn't
- 6:33Speaker 1: h predetermined, pre pre prerecorded. You started talking about w
- 6:39Speaker 1: W E and I sleeve right on the end with
- 6:41Speaker 1: the information. Now you got see, see what you gotta
- 6:43Speaker 1: do is give me some love or not. I kinda
- 6:46Speaker 1: give you the love for that. And I want to
- 6:47Speaker 1: congratulate you. You have a Wikipedia page that is a
- 6:51Speaker 1: that is a that's a phenomenal testament of your work
- 6:54Speaker 1: to be recognized in an international platform. Now you're shooting
- 6:57Speaker 1: a lifestyle series for the DC officers and Cable. Tell
- 7:00Speaker 1: us exactly before we get to the show, what exactly
- 7:03Speaker 1: is the DC office of Cable and TV. It's funny
- 7:07Speaker 1: man um. So when I started in the business, my
- 7:10Speaker 1: very first boss was a beautiful radio personality who's also
- 7:13Speaker 1: with you on Serious exem She's on the Heart and
- 7:16Speaker 1: Soul Channel. Her name is Michelle Wright. And Michelle Wright
- 7:19Speaker 1: was doing this TV show here in DC called the
- 7:22Speaker 1: two oh two and it was this really flashy morning entertainment,
- 7:27Speaker 1: uh talk show situation, and it looks really good on
- 7:30Speaker 1: social media. And I kept saying, what is this? And
- 7:33Speaker 1: she was like, I want you to come in and
- 7:36Speaker 1: meet with the team here. And so I went over
- 7:38Speaker 1: to this office, which used to be one of the
- 7:41Speaker 1: former b ET headquarters. And I had no no idea
- 7:45Speaker 1: that Washington, d C had this government sanctions, TV, radio, film,
- 7:52Speaker 1: and entertainment facility right in the heart of downtown. And
- 7:56Speaker 1: the lady who runs the office, director and g Gates,
- 7:59Speaker 1: I knew her because she used to run the one
- 8:01Speaker 1: in theater here and she was like, I've been dying
- 8:04Speaker 1: to get you to host one of our programs. You
- 8:06Speaker 1: were doing all this national TV, but install for you
- 8:09Speaker 1: to come and work at home. And so they have
- 8:12Speaker 1: three channels here on DC Cable, then got um uh
- 8:16Speaker 1: to h D radio channels. And when films and movies
- 8:20Speaker 1: and TV shows come to d C, they're the office
- 8:23Speaker 1: that helps arrange all of that stuff. They're a part
- 8:26Speaker 1: of the Film Commission and all of that as well.
- 8:28Speaker 1: And so I'm hosting a show for them, uh, for
- 8:31Speaker 1: their entertainment channel called maide in d C. And it's
- 8:34Speaker 1: a lifestyle show that really celebrates businesses and entrepreneurs and
- 8:39Speaker 1: entities that were made in this city, created in this city,
- 8:43Speaker 1: and are offering assets and resources to this city and
- 8:46Speaker 1: It's really a great extension of some of the stuff
- 8:49Speaker 1: that I was doing for a while at the Travel Channel.
- 8:51Speaker 1: And um, it feels great to be able to, um,
- 8:54Speaker 1: you know, really work at home. I got to go
- 8:56Speaker 1: and co host the mayor's inaugural ball as a part
- 8:58Speaker 1: of this relation ship, and uh, you know, being able
- 9:02Speaker 1: to to to have the Hollywood experience in your hometown
- 9:06Speaker 1: is a great thing. Well, I think importantly that you
- 9:08Speaker 1: bring that resume and that's what this is all about,
- 9:11Speaker 1: you know, and you can contact a person like me
- 9:13Speaker 1: and I comfortably will give you a contact to another
- 9:16Speaker 1: person to be able to build that bread. Because d
- 9:18Speaker 1: C is a destination city. You know, everybody's coming to
- 9:22Speaker 1: d C, everybody to do television shows. Their media is
- 9:25Speaker 1: a you know, radio one is set up there, a
- 9:27Speaker 1: lot of a lot of television networks are set up
- 9:29Speaker 1: in the DC area. A lot of the of course,
- 9:32Speaker 1: you know, the heart of the government's in the DC area.
- 9:34Speaker 1: When you do a show like maybe d C which
- 9:35Speaker 1: reminds me of a show that I grew up called
- 9:37Speaker 1: PM Magazine. There was a local show that really it
- 9:41Speaker 1: really was the information source of what happens in that
- 9:44Speaker 1: in that community, which the community at time. With Houston
- 9:47Speaker 1: and the d C, you also have Maryland, you have Virginia,
- 9:51Speaker 1: so you're really covering a lot of places other than
- 9:54Speaker 1: d C. Are just just DC proper. Well, this particular
- 9:57Speaker 1: show because it is a part of these to take
- 10:00Speaker 1: a little cluster of channels, it's really about the heart
- 10:03Speaker 1: of downtown DCO. But everybody in this area, you know,
- 10:06Speaker 1: we we love the d m V. That's what we
- 10:08Speaker 1: call it. DC Marrowers of Virginia. And I tell people
- 10:11Speaker 1: all the time when they asked me about the area,
- 10:13Speaker 1: because if everything is so close, the city really is
- 10:15Speaker 1: kind of shaped like an egg. If you boil an egg,
- 10:19Speaker 1: the yoke would be the heart of downtown d C.
- 10:22Speaker 1: And on the white, all the white part on the
- 10:24Speaker 1: outside would be that loop that takes you from Virginia
- 10:26Speaker 1: to Maryland. And there's literally a highway that you could
- 10:29Speaker 1: get on in loop from Virginia to Maryland and never
- 10:32Speaker 1: get off the highway. Yeah, yeah, you want to get
- 10:35Speaker 1: off that highway because that traffic on that highway and
- 10:41Speaker 1: feel like a ball, You feel like a traffic. Now
- 10:44Speaker 1: let's talk about you know you've been We talked a
- 10:46Speaker 1: little bit about being a social media influencer. You know,
- 10:49Speaker 1: they say if once you get over fifty of any
- 10:51Speaker 1: you can be an influencer. Depends on your engagement, you
- 10:54Speaker 1: could be an influenza. What what what is? What is
- 10:57Speaker 1: the direction you're trying to take your influence as a
- 11:00Speaker 1: social media influencer. Well, you know, one of the things, um,
- 11:04Speaker 1: so entertainment is how I kept my teeth in the business.
- 11:06Speaker 1: But you know, I really don't like to be boxed
- 11:09Speaker 1: into just that, like, um, you know, when I have
- 11:11Speaker 1: to do cable news or some of the daytime talk
- 11:14Speaker 1: shows and stuff. When I have to go do entertainment topics,
- 11:16Speaker 1: I literally most times, and I can do them without
- 11:19Speaker 1: little to no prep because I'm so well versed and
- 11:22Speaker 1: most of the people and the topics it doesn't require
- 11:25Speaker 1: the work that it does if I'm going in talking
- 11:27Speaker 1: about the social issues or some cultural impact issues or
- 11:31Speaker 1: more lifestyle oriented issues. And so my social media for
- 11:34Speaker 1: me is being able to uh share the totality of
- 11:38Speaker 1: who I am, you know, um working in entertainment originally
- 11:43Speaker 1: and living in d C, which was considered a political city,
- 11:46Speaker 1: I had to travel a significant amount of time, so
- 11:49Speaker 1: I ended up becoming like an accidental travel expert um.
- 11:53Speaker 1: You know, even doing a hundred thousand frequent fire miles
- 11:56Speaker 1: a year, I can tell you which restaurants are the
- 11:59Speaker 1: best at very airports. People email me and contact me
- 12:03Speaker 1: about where to stay and what to do, and I
- 12:05Speaker 1: can definitely tell you where all the best street art
- 12:08Speaker 1: and street murals and all the half cities are UM.
- 12:11Speaker 1: And so because of that, I like to um include
- 12:14Speaker 1: a lot of my travel influence and my travel ideas
- 12:18Speaker 1: and and and my voyages on the road on my
- 12:21Speaker 1: social media because people love to try to emulate the
- 12:24Speaker 1: experiences that I have in the travel space and live
- 12:27Speaker 1: by for those who don't travel as much, try to
- 12:29Speaker 1: live vicariously through me. But you know, as as an
- 12:33Speaker 1: inn result of that, you know, that was one of
- 12:35Speaker 1: the main reasons of how I ended up doing some
- 12:38Speaker 1: some hosting and some programming over at Travel Channel. They
- 12:41Speaker 1: love the fact that I was just kind of Hollywood
- 12:44Speaker 1: is kind of guy, but was always on the road
- 12:47Speaker 1: and could talk to you about destinations all over the world.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I would tell you something. We are a minute and
- 12:52Speaker 1: a half left with you. The television event of the
- 12:55Speaker 1: year starts this Sunday. You cannot Can you give me
- 13:00Speaker 1: your thoughts on Game of Thrones. Don't don't uh put
- 13:06Speaker 1: me into town square and uh and and send the
- 13:09Speaker 1: people to fight me like they do on our Game
- 13:11Speaker 1: of Thrones. But it's not a show that I watched it.
- 13:15Speaker 1: My god, we think about cut off the line, cut
- 13:20Speaker 1: off the line from I just knew we're gonna go. Mother.
- 13:24Speaker 1: You need to catch up six or six episode you're missing.

- 13:43Speaker 1: entertainment expert. What do you say right there? TV holds
- 13:46Speaker 1: a cop pop culture expert. If Game of Throne is
- 13:50Speaker 1: not pop culture, I don't know what it is. But
- 13:53Speaker 1: that doesn't mean a comma. My title say pop culture expert.
- 13:58Speaker 1: With the exception of I love it, I love you,
- 14:02Speaker 1: hey man, this has been an exceptionally fun interview. You know,

- 17:44Speaker 1: the design industry Wow Wow, Wow Wow, who has worked

- 17:54Speaker 1: interior design firm. In addition to designing celebrity green rooms
- 17:58Speaker 1: for names like First Lady Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey, John Rivers,
- 18:04Speaker 1: Halle Berry, and Tyler Perry, Steve Harvey and becoming their
- 18:07Speaker 1: in house design expert, he is a new designer on
- 18:11Speaker 1: TLCS Trading Spaces. Please work on the money making conversations,
- 18:16Speaker 1: my man, Mikhael Welch, Thank you, Mr Donald, Thank you
- 18:20Speaker 1: for having me. Michael. Right now, ye, right now, I'm
- 18:26Speaker 1: home in New York City for the first time, like
- 18:28Speaker 1: never hall, So this is the first, Okay, And what
- 18:31Speaker 1: in part of New York has five boroughs? What part
- 18:33Speaker 1: of New York City are you call it home? Um?
- 18:36Speaker 1: I live in Queens now. I used to live in Harlem,
- 18:38Speaker 1: but now I've recently located to Queens and I'm loving
- 18:42Speaker 1: it because I'm close to the airport. So I can
- 18:44Speaker 1: jump on the flight at a moment's notice. Airport meeting
- 18:47Speaker 1: the Gloria, which is l GM. I'm in between both,
- 18:53Speaker 1: so I'm ten minutes away from them Guardia and JFK,
- 18:56Speaker 1: so it's perfect. Well. JFK one of my favorite airports
- 18:58Speaker 1: because it's like a mall. If ever go there every Yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 1: you don't have a close and you just want to shop,
- 19:04Speaker 1: just go to JAMKG shop. This is an incredible beautiful
- 19:09Speaker 1: to me, It's like a hidden gym on mall, you know,
- 19:11Speaker 1: because you're going to you go, okay, I've gotten everything
- 19:15Speaker 1: out of day. You know, the top makeup stories, clothing stories.
- 19:19Speaker 1: You know. I'm a shopper, so you know, good food
- 19:22Speaker 1: and that's that's definitely the place to go. They will
- 19:24Speaker 1: they will hit you up for for all of your
- 19:26Speaker 1: dollars before you top that flight. So, so, Michael, you're
- 19:30Speaker 1: My relationship officially started on the Steve Harvey Show. Correct, Yeah, yeah,
- 19:36Speaker 1: And Steve Harvey showed the talk show that we launched
- 19:39Speaker 1: in Chicago. I know people who are not famous. You
- 19:42Speaker 1: done big jobs in Chicago when you're doing simultaneously working
- 19:45Speaker 1: for the Steve Harvey Show, and you asked me about
- 19:48Speaker 1: that I go. Or if you don't get out of
- 19:50Speaker 1: my face and learned that there's twenty four hours in
- 19:52Speaker 1: the day and learn to use all those hours, please
- 19:55Speaker 1: go do that work, because that's all that's what is about. Correct, Yes, no,
- 19:59Speaker 1: you that was one of the craziest things, you know,
- 20:01Speaker 1: like I was saying before, you know, I worked on
- 20:05Speaker 1: the Steve Harvey Show, you know, as a set designer.
- 20:08Speaker 1: And I don't know if most people know we're working
- 20:10Speaker 1: on that show twelve hours a day. And I have
- 20:14Speaker 1: designed clients who are calling me and they don't care
- 20:18Speaker 1: that I'm working with Steve Harvey at the TV station.
- 20:22Speaker 1: They want me there at their homes. And so I
- 20:24Speaker 1: had to hire an assistant, and that's that was expensive,
- 20:28Speaker 1: you know, hire a full time assistant to basically be
- 20:30Speaker 1: that voice while I while I wasn't um physically on
- 20:34Speaker 1: the property. But what happened was that allowed me to
- 20:37Speaker 1: continue to grow my brand. And you know, that was
- 20:40Speaker 1: the first time I went from working on like little
- 20:43Speaker 1: two thousand dollar budgets to half a million dollar budgets, um.
- 20:47Speaker 1: And so it was just a life changing experience when
- 20:50Speaker 1: I was on the show in Chicago. But I think
- 20:53Speaker 1: what resonated with me. The most was another conversation that
- 20:57Speaker 1: you and I had um. And this is when I
- 21:00Speaker 1: was very, very money hungry, and I don't know if
- 21:03Speaker 1: you remember. I came into your office and I said,
- 21:06Speaker 1: I want to I want to talk to you about
- 21:09Speaker 1: writing a book. And you said, well, why do you
- 21:11Speaker 1: want to write a book? I said, because I want
- 21:13Speaker 1: to make money like everybody else. And you told me
- 21:15Speaker 1: to leave your office and you said you need to
- 21:18Speaker 1: leave because you don't get it, and you come back
- 21:20Speaker 1: to me when you get it. And I was I
- 21:24Speaker 1: was kind of shocked that, you know you you told
- 21:27Speaker 1: me to leave the office. But it must have been
- 21:29Speaker 1: about a year later. I was doing the Neighborhood awards
- 21:33Speaker 1: with you, and the lady walked up to me and
- 21:35Speaker 1: I had I had several women walking up saying, Hey,
- 21:38Speaker 1: can you come redesign my house? Can you come to
- 21:40Speaker 1: my house? And I'm like, I can't just come to
- 21:43Speaker 1: your house. And I remember coming to you saying Mr McDonald,
- 21:46Speaker 1: I have all these people asking if I could come
- 21:48Speaker 1: to the house and I can't. But what I can
- 21:51Speaker 1: do is put together a design seminar where I can
- 21:55Speaker 1: travel to different cities and I can teach people what
- 21:58Speaker 1: they can do UM and there a respective city since
- 22:01Speaker 1: I can't physically come to their house. And that's when
- 22:03Speaker 1: you told me, you know what you get it now
- 22:06Speaker 1: it's not about you, it's about you helping someone else.
- 22:10Speaker 1: And so it was just like all of those tools.
- 22:13Speaker 1: And I don't even know if you remember that conversation,
- 22:15Speaker 1: but it was that. That was a big thing for
- 22:18Speaker 1: me because moving forward with every single thing that I
- 22:21Speaker 1: do with my brand, if I have one thought about
- 22:24Speaker 1: I just want to make the money, I stopped and
- 22:26Speaker 1: I always go back to that conversation that you told
- 22:29Speaker 1: what you told me. You know, if it's about the money,
- 22:31Speaker 1: it's never going to work. No, it's never gonna work.
- 22:36Speaker 1: You know. I always tell people that there were many
- 22:39Speaker 1: opportunities I passed on money for the opportunity. I remember
- 22:42Speaker 1: when I was doing, UM, what I was doing. I
- 22:45Speaker 1: went from Steve Harvey's first TV show in ABC, and
- 22:49Speaker 1: I went to UH Robert Townsend Show and UH and
- 22:52Speaker 1: and I was I was a writer and UH and
- 22:56Speaker 1: so I wanted to change in title. I wanted to
- 22:59Speaker 1: change in title. I said, look, I had a bigger
- 23:01Speaker 1: title on the previous show because I went over here
- 23:03Speaker 1: to the w B. They knocked my title back down.
- 23:07Speaker 1: I said, I just want the title. I don't want
- 23:10Speaker 1: the money. They had never heard that before. I said,
- 23:13Speaker 1: people don't know. People don't need to know that I'm
- 23:15Speaker 1: not getting paid this extra amount of money. It's between
- 23:17Speaker 1: its when you sign a release that you won't tell anybody.
- 23:19Speaker 1: I said, yes, because it's about the brand. It's about
- 23:24Speaker 1: people understanding that I am rising up, that I am
- 23:28Speaker 1: making a difference. And once you people start coming to
- 23:31Speaker 1: you and you change that tone that hey, I'm here
- 23:33Speaker 1: to help you, your career is taken off. Your whole approach.
- 23:37Speaker 1: You know, our conversations changed, we were we went from
- 23:41Speaker 1: just being a mentor of the mentee to like partners
- 23:44Speaker 1: in the conversation. Next step, what you're gonna do? Why
- 23:47Speaker 1: are you gonna do these things? And that's why the
- 23:49Speaker 1: evolution of you from introducing you to contact the real,
- 23:53Speaker 1: real real Housewives of Atlanta, talking to your agents. And
- 23:57Speaker 1: I've talked to everybody in his life, you know, everybody.
- 24:00Speaker 1: He was representing him because I believe in Michael Well
- 24:04Speaker 1: and to see him advanced this part in his life
- 24:07Speaker 1: and to see him um do the things that he's
- 24:10Speaker 1: gonna do. What advice would you give to people who
- 24:13Speaker 1: want to do what you want to do? I just
- 24:15Speaker 1: want to be successful in life, becail Um. I think
- 24:18Speaker 1: the biggest thing that I've learned in the past twelve
- 24:22Speaker 1: years and design is to really focus on what it
- 24:28Speaker 1: is that you want to do. You can't be a
- 24:30Speaker 1: jack of all trades, but most importantly narrowed down what
- 24:33Speaker 1: you want to do and then find a mentor, find
- 24:36Speaker 1: someone who has already done it and who can show
- 24:39Speaker 1: you the ropes, because that, for me has been the
- 24:43Speaker 1: biggest help you know to be because everybody's not going
- 24:46Speaker 1: to be in a room with you because and I
- 24:48Speaker 1: recognize that, like, but you need to find people who
- 24:52Speaker 1: know the way. And I always go back to another
- 24:55Speaker 1: conversation that you and I had where it was about
- 24:58Speaker 1: looking at your friends circle and if you're considered the
- 25:02Speaker 1: strongest person in your circle, you might want to revamp
- 25:06Speaker 1: that circle that you're in because you should always be
- 25:08Speaker 1: learning from someone else and not just you know, everybody
- 25:12Speaker 1: else taking from you. And so I would just say,
- 25:15Speaker 1: you know, get a mentor and follow as hard as
- 25:19Speaker 1: you can and then begin to make your own way.
- 25:22Speaker 1: And for me, that is what has truly helped me
- 25:25Speaker 1: in my career. You have plenty of pictures in your home,

- 29:18Speaker 1: to break the ice lit him or I love him
- 29:20Speaker 1: and respect him. My first next guest is a husband,
- 29:23Speaker 1: a son, a brother, a believer in Christ, an entrepreneur,
- 29:28Speaker 1: and the starting outside linebacker for the New York Chess.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Please welcome to Money Making Conversation. Brandon Copeland. How you
- 29:38Speaker 1: do pretty good brand? Okay, Brandon? You know I always
- 29:42Speaker 1: always go through the bios. I really try to take
- 29:44Speaker 1: my time and get a little nuggets. And so when
- 29:47Speaker 1: I see something like a believer in Christ, that means
- 29:51Speaker 1: that that's something that's important to you because it's part
- 29:53Speaker 1: of your bio. Why is it important for you to
- 29:56Speaker 1: say that and have its part of your bio? Well,
- 30:00Speaker 1: I know I would literally not be where I'm at
- 30:03Speaker 1: today without that, um, without God. I mean, there's so
- 30:07Speaker 1: many times in my life, you know, if you look
- 30:11Speaker 1: at football, but then also bigger than life and bigger
- 30:15Speaker 1: than football. Um, there's so many different things that have
- 30:19Speaker 1: seen and witnessed and just a miracle of life in general.
- 30:24Speaker 1: You know, I know for a fact that I would
- 30:26Speaker 1: not be here without without his blessing. And uh that
- 30:31Speaker 1: that's I think we look at even simple stuff like
- 30:36Speaker 1: just the mindset I'm blessed with. You see, and you
- 30:39Speaker 1: speak to a lot of people in your in your show,
- 30:42Speaker 1: and I'm sure you leave a lot of those conversations
- 30:44Speaker 1: like wow, like that person there's something different about him,
- 30:48Speaker 1: like that the way he takes information and instead of
- 30:52Speaker 1: it letting, instead of it being a deterrent to him
- 30:57Speaker 1: or an obstacle to him, he turns out into motivations.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Have here sheets us in the motivation somehow? Right? Like that?
- 31:03Speaker 1: To me, it is a simple blessing, right because I
- 31:07Speaker 1: could have a personality that took that and use that
- 31:11Speaker 1: as an excuse or an obstacle for why I wasn't
- 31:14Speaker 1: great or why I couldn't make it. So um. So yeah,
- 31:17Speaker 1: that's where everything starts. Well, you know, it's interesting because
- 31:20Speaker 1: in the game of football, especially professional football, faith is
- 31:24Speaker 1: a big component. You see a lot of players and
- 31:27Speaker 1: a lot of players sharing prayer before especially after the game.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Why why do you feel it's such a strong route
- 31:35Speaker 1: and uh, the game of professional football faith. Wow, that's
- 31:39Speaker 1: a that's a great question. I think. I think there's
- 31:45Speaker 1: it starts with your upbringing. Um. And I think that
- 31:48Speaker 1: you actually see a lot of teams praying together before
- 31:53Speaker 1: a game. Um. You know do you, like you said,
- 31:55Speaker 1: you have this prayer circles, you have your Bible studies
- 31:58Speaker 1: on teams and stuff like that, and those just select
- 32:00Speaker 1: group of guys that choose to do those. But then
- 32:03Speaker 1: even as like a locker room, we pray together before
- 32:06Speaker 1: and after every single day, right, which I think is
- 32:08Speaker 1: pretty powerful. Um And and ultimately you know there, I
- 32:14Speaker 1: was actually just having a conversation about understanding about the
- 32:17Speaker 1: battle of preseason and going into a preseason camp and
- 32:22Speaker 1: football being one of the most Uh this is going
- 32:25Speaker 1: in the year seven for me, but my rookie year,
- 32:27Speaker 1: I realized that football was one of the most cutthroat
- 32:32Speaker 1: but beautiful sports at the same time, and the fact
- 32:35Speaker 1: that like you literally can sit in the room where
- 32:39Speaker 1: there's seven linebackers, right, and you know they're only four
- 32:43Speaker 1: of you are going to make the team, but you
- 32:45Speaker 1: still find a way to be friends and still find
- 32:47Speaker 1: a way to help each other. Like I meant that
- 32:49Speaker 1: I'm literally fighting to take your job or you're not
- 32:53Speaker 1: going to be able to pay your bills this year
- 32:55Speaker 1: from the NFL per se specifically because it's me. But
- 33:01Speaker 1: we still find a way to coach each other up
- 33:05Speaker 1: and help each other out and laugh and joke off
- 33:07Speaker 1: the field and build relationships. And I think that that
- 33:09Speaker 1: all has to do with faith, right. I think one
- 33:12Speaker 1: of the things the pieces of advice that God gave
- 33:15Speaker 1: to me my Ricky year, it was like, you can't
- 33:17Speaker 1: stress what you can't control, and some of the decisions made,
- 33:21Speaker 1: especially in the NFL locker room and the businesses sports,
- 33:25Speaker 1: are well out of your control, and that's all up
- 33:29Speaker 1: to God. All you can do is work as hard
- 33:30Speaker 1: as possible, prepare, train, and and leave it all out
- 33:34Speaker 1: there on the field and let God take care of
- 33:36Speaker 1: the rest, right and for good or bad. You know,
- 33:40Speaker 1: you might look at a decision as bad in the moment,
- 33:44Speaker 1: but it might be you know, it's God's plan, It's
- 33:48Speaker 1: God's work and in the long run, it's it's all
- 33:51Speaker 1: in in your favor in my opinion. So absolutely, that's
- 33:56Speaker 1: why I wanted to bring that out because you know,
- 33:58Speaker 1: football is such an interesting sport, you know, because faith
- 34:01Speaker 1: plays are such a major play in it. And then
- 34:04Speaker 1: they go out on the field and somehow faith doesn't
- 34:09Speaker 1: play a role in the tackling though. It's like, you
- 34:14Speaker 1: know what I'm saying, it's a guy coming at you
- 34:17Speaker 1: branded uh four four four four to speed you. You
- 34:21Speaker 1: look at them going, okay, really you you're gonna come
- 34:23Speaker 1: at me like that. I'm gonna come at you like that,
- 34:25Speaker 1: and we're gonna man up in a minute at this
- 34:28Speaker 1: yard line. And so that's why it's a really an
- 34:31Speaker 1: amazing sport because it's a blessing, but it also has
- 34:33Speaker 1: a physical timeline tied to it. And I the one
- 34:37Speaker 1: in my tone, I realized, you're an undrafted free agent
- 34:40Speaker 1: according to your bio, and you said, I'm going into
- 34:43Speaker 1: my seventh year in the league, and you know how
- 34:45Speaker 1: it is, so every year you've been grinding, grinding, So
- 34:48Speaker 1: faith has has has played a major role because guess what,
- 34:52Speaker 1: you just never know what happens, you know, the one
- 34:54Speaker 1: talking negative but you just never know. And so now
- 34:57Speaker 1: your seventh year, where are you in respective to all
- 35:01Speaker 1: of this, what's the next step for you? Yeah? I
- 35:04Speaker 1: think UM. For me personally, I always say when you
- 35:08Speaker 1: could ask what your other and I said, going into
- 35:10Speaker 1: year seven, god willing you know, UM, And I really
- 35:13Speaker 1: believe that. UM. I literally take things one day at
- 35:17Speaker 1: a time. So for me personally, football has always been
- 35:21Speaker 1: a means to an end. Uh. In high school, I
- 35:24Speaker 1: remember using football as my way to get to college. UH.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Then college it was okay, Hey, I can take this
- 35:32Speaker 1: and get to the NFL, and that will be my
- 35:35Speaker 1: way to start my own empire, build my own business,
- 35:39Speaker 1: create my own culture, you know, change people's lives, all
- 35:42Speaker 1: of that stuff, and that would be startup capital. So
- 35:45Speaker 1: for me now in year seven, you know, I'm I'm
- 35:49Speaker 1: in the midst of actually creating that empire. I'm doing
- 35:53Speaker 1: real estate. I'm i'm a professor of financial literacy and
- 35:56Speaker 1: my alma mater, I have a foundation. I'm I'm working
- 35:59Speaker 1: on uh production company and producing content and stuff like that. Um.
- 36:06Speaker 1: So I'm I'm Year seven for me is one of
- 36:10Speaker 1: the culmination of a lot of hard work. I finally
- 36:13Speaker 1: got the chance to start this past season and had
- 36:16Speaker 1: my best season yet. And now I'm playing on building
- 36:19Speaker 1: or that this this season and you know, tearing it
- 36:22Speaker 1: up on the field first and foremost, but then also
- 36:26Speaker 1: really hustling up off the field to create that empire
- 36:30Speaker 1: and that financial freedom for myself and my family for
- 36:32Speaker 1: the rest of our lives. And that is my my
- 36:36Speaker 1: ultimate goal is when I'm done football, to be able
- 36:39Speaker 1: to tell people this. I used to get shy and
- 36:42Speaker 1: saying this, and I used to feel a little, you know,
- 36:44Speaker 1: reserved by saying this. But I'll take back the cockiness
- 36:50Speaker 1: or the arrogance that it comes off. As you know,
- 36:53Speaker 1: I'll explain it. But I literally want to do what
- 36:55Speaker 1: I want when I want when I'm done football. That
- 36:58Speaker 1: can see a lot of things. If you're a graduate
- 37:01Speaker 1: of an IVY League school, I knew exactly who you are.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Can't about take that away from you, Brandon. You know,
- 37:07Speaker 1: this is about branding, because see there are two things
- 37:09Speaker 1: that stand out with when you go out in the
- 37:12Speaker 1: general market. Because that because that IVY League graduate that
- 37:15Speaker 1: screams intelligence, whoa that screams smart and so so that's part.
- 37:22Speaker 1: And then you're starting linebacker for that's for the New
- 37:26Speaker 1: York Jets and Exclusive Club. So you got two things
- 37:29Speaker 1: going for you. You're physically a member of the Exclusive
- 37:31Speaker 1: Club and you're super intelligent because you're an IVY League graduate. Hey,
- 37:35Speaker 1: I graduated from Universe Houston. I'm proud of my university.
- 37:38Speaker 1: But I can't see I'm an IVY League graduate and
- 37:43Speaker 1: so and I only say that because I want you
- 37:45Speaker 1: to understand. Man, you got something going here and and uh,
- 37:50Speaker 1: and I want you to really take time. And I
- 37:51Speaker 1: don't say you're not taking time because you got your
- 37:54Speaker 1: you got your class life one on one going at
- 37:56Speaker 1: the University of Pennsylvania. But my man, you can be
- 37:59Speaker 1: way bigger in this. You in New York City. You're
- 38:02Speaker 1: in New York City. You should be going down to
- 38:05Speaker 1: Facebook doing some webinars, doing some Facebook lives. You should
- 38:08Speaker 1: be doing some periscopes, because, my man, you had I've
- 38:12Speaker 1: had a lot of people. Eddie George's powerful. I've had
- 38:14Speaker 1: him on my show. He teaches classes at the Ohio
- 38:17Speaker 1: State similar tone, but you are still playing. So he's retired.
- 38:22Speaker 1: So you got it and you figured that out while
- 38:24Speaker 1: you were playing that right there, my friend, you need
- 38:27Speaker 1: to build on you need to understand how special you
- 38:29Speaker 1: really are and you owned something very unique and you're
- 38:32Speaker 1: gonna keep winning with that. Brandon. I'm just bragging on
- 38:35Speaker 1: you right now, brother, because I know how to brand people.
- 38:38Speaker 1: I know how to put people in the right direction.
- 38:40Speaker 1: I will mentor you as a as a as a person.
- 38:44Speaker 1: If you need me, you call me, because in fact
- 38:46Speaker 1: that you are something. You owned something very special at
- 38:49Speaker 1: a young age. You're the thirty You're millennial. Man, You're millennial.
- 38:54Speaker 1: They're not supposed be doing this. You're not supposed to
- 38:56Speaker 1: be doing this. Okay, you're millennial. They're talking about you.

- 41:05Speaker 1: a better way to check in on our house while
- 41:07Speaker 1: I was at work and a friend recommended Blink. I
- 41:10Speaker 1: was skeptical but decided to give it a shot, and
- 41:12Speaker 1: I bought a Blink camera system. With our last security system,
- 41:15Speaker 1: false alarms, wires everywhere, and monthly fees, we couldn't get
- 41:19Speaker 1: out of my bad But our Blink system is different.

- 42:54Speaker 1: Making Conversations. The mastermind behind Culture Collective music executive and
- 43:00Speaker 1: investor Jonathan A. Zoo, thank you for having me. I
- 43:05Speaker 1: appreciate it. Well, you know, appreciate when I bring people
- 43:08Speaker 1: on the show. I want people know where they're on
- 43:09Speaker 1: the show. Yes, yes, you know, and well put guess
- 43:14Speaker 1: what I'll saying? Well put, well they tell me about
- 43:17Speaker 1: this because you know your management we are as a
- 43:20Speaker 1: person who's managed talent before and currently still managing talent.
- 43:24Speaker 1: You know when I stop managing Steve Harbor, I thought
- 43:25Speaker 1: I was done. I said, you know, uh, and then
- 43:28Speaker 1: all of a sudden I got pulled back in, Jonathan,
- 43:30Speaker 1: I got pulled back here. People people read the bio.
- 43:34Speaker 1: This can you do? Certainly it is a favor, you know.
- 43:36Speaker 1: I don't want to spend time because a lot of
- 43:38Speaker 1: people don't understand boy management. Is that your part uh husband,
- 43:43Speaker 1: poor wife, port friend, port council, port father, part dog.
- 43:47Speaker 1: You're a lot of things when you manage talent. Please
- 43:50Speaker 1: tell people your experience. Am I am? I not missing.
- 43:54Speaker 1: I am not trying to mislead people when they're getting
- 43:56Speaker 1: into the management game. You have to invest your time
- 43:59Speaker 1: both were emotionally and physically into somebody's success. Yeah, you
- 44:04Speaker 1: you really do you you give up every aspect of
- 44:06Speaker 1: who you are, and it's it's a lifestyle business. And
- 44:10Speaker 1: I've been able to experience that at a very high level, um,
- 44:14Speaker 1: you know, with with a variety of different managers and
- 44:17Speaker 1: artists you know, at every shape and size, but the
- 44:20Speaker 1: one commonality, one denominator, is that it's it leads to
- 44:25Speaker 1: every aspect of your life, right. And so I always
- 44:28Speaker 1: like to say, when you're evaluating whether you want to
- 44:31Speaker 1: manage an artists, it's it's almost like do you want
- 44:33Speaker 1: to get married? Right at that level, as you know,
- 44:38Speaker 1: right where you know you will end up talking with
- 44:42Speaker 1: that person potentially more than anyone that you in your
- 44:45Speaker 1: own personal family. Um. Because that's just that's that's just
- 44:48Speaker 1: the nature of the business. And that's why I always
- 44:50Speaker 1: tell people that, Like when I gotta share my story
- 44:53Speaker 1: so it becomes relatable as to why I got on
- 44:55Speaker 1: the show. Like when Steve Harvey approached me, I was
- 44:58Speaker 1: successful sitcom writer, very successful in Hollywood in and he
- 45:03Speaker 1: asked me to start managing his career. He had we
- 45:05Speaker 1: had just taped Kings of Comedy, and I was kind
- 45:09Speaker 1: of like on the fence if I was managing him,
- 45:11Speaker 1: was very successful, but I didn't really we didn't really
- 45:15Speaker 1: become successful until two thousand and five when I decided
- 45:19Speaker 1: to really invest one into managing. The reason I say
- 45:23Speaker 1: that is that if you want somebody to be successful,
- 45:25Speaker 1: you cannot do it part time. You really can't. You
- 45:30Speaker 1: really can. It's it's impossible, fact, to be honest with you.
- 45:33Speaker 1: You know, I've got two young children, um five and one,
- 45:37Speaker 1: you know, and in a beautiful wife, and and they
- 45:40Speaker 1: loved the industry that I'm in. And it's great too
- 45:43Speaker 1: because I've opened them up to the business and you know, my, my, my,
- 45:47Speaker 1: my artists and clients, UH know them just as well
- 45:50Speaker 1: as they know me. And it's hard to not have
- 45:52Speaker 1: it that way. You know, some people may see you
- 45:54Speaker 1: need that separation. But because we live in this lifestyle
- 45:57Speaker 1: business where you know, Thursday's, Friday, Saturday's where most people
- 46:00Speaker 1: are thinking about the weekend and taking the time and
- 46:04Speaker 1: leaning back and checking out, we're checking in right. There's
- 46:09Speaker 1: always something going on, right, So it's it's pretty you know,
- 46:12Speaker 1: it's difficult to not really open up your whole life
- 46:16Speaker 1: to the people that you work with. That's why it
- 46:18Speaker 1: has to work. When I talk about the marriage, part.
- 46:20Speaker 1: That's why it has to be a fit. It can't
- 46:22Speaker 1: be a thing where you're just doing it too to
- 46:25Speaker 1: get by, or you're just doing it because of the money.
- 46:28Speaker 1: You know, there has to has to be a fit.
- 46:32Speaker 1: I've you know, on my career, like you, you get
- 46:35Speaker 1: the phone calls, you get the emails of the text
- 46:37Speaker 1: from our friend. Well you listen that we listen to this,
- 46:40Speaker 1: you know, you know everything from my my, my daughter,
- 46:44Speaker 1: my daughter. You know, I think my daughter can seeing
- 46:46Speaker 1: Will you take a listen on up to on up
- 46:48Speaker 1: to you know, the guy at the checkout count of
- 46:51Speaker 1: the grocery store, you know you hanimy is demo tape.
- 46:53Speaker 1: I think it's pretty good. So you get the whole gamut.
- 46:57Speaker 1: But at the end of the day, if you're not
- 46:58Speaker 1: emotionally connected to it and you don't have a vision
- 47:00Speaker 1: for it, um, it's not worth doing because it really
- 47:04Speaker 1: does take over, you know, actect of your life. So
- 47:06Speaker 1: it's gonna do that. You gotta be happy. And that's
- 47:08Speaker 1: why I always tell people they don't really because I
- 47:11Speaker 1: ran a common clubs. I ran into a lot of
- 47:13Speaker 1: manager of singing groups, manager of this, and and they
- 47:16Speaker 1: really and everybody wants to be a manager because it's
- 47:19Speaker 1: so fly, it's so cool to say the word manager.
- 47:22Speaker 1: But the commitment to time. And I tell people that because,
- 47:24Speaker 1: like I said, basically, Steve harv and I was kind
- 47:27Speaker 1: of like having dual careers. He was, he was very
- 47:29Speaker 1: I was still had my foot doing Rashan McDonald's brand,
- 47:33Speaker 1: doing other TV show development TV shows. And the last
- 47:36Speaker 1: TV show I did as ru Sean McDonald was I
- 47:39Speaker 1: did the MTV show called The Shop. It's very similar
- 47:42Speaker 1: to what uh what the lebron is doing right now HBO.
- 47:45Speaker 1: In fact, it's the same show. It's the same show
- 47:47Speaker 1: and so and I was doing it, and I was
- 47:49Speaker 1: shooting it in Brooklyn and so and that, and so
- 47:52Speaker 1: when I made the commitment right there, said you know something,
- 47:54Speaker 1: We're not gonna win if my mind remains split. I
- 47:58Speaker 1: have to I have to commit to the whole process.
- 48:02Speaker 1: And when I committed the whole process, then guess what.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Everything moved forward fast, everything my my whole want her
- 48:09Speaker 1: to present. Commitment allowed me to just think, sleep, eating, drink.
- 48:13Speaker 1: Steve Harvey, I could tell you his blood pressure, I
- 48:16Speaker 1: can tell you what he didn't like. I can tell
- 48:17Speaker 1: his suit I can tell his shoes. I can tell
- 48:19Speaker 1: you what time he got up. I can tell you
- 48:20Speaker 1: what time he went to bed. As a manager, you
- 48:23Speaker 1: have to know all these things. You have to know, uh,
- 48:26Speaker 1: catering needs. You have to know that the seat they
- 48:28Speaker 1: like on the airplane. You have to know what side
- 48:30Speaker 1: of the car they like to sit there, what type
- 48:32Speaker 1: of cars they don't like? A dude like, all that
- 48:35Speaker 1: comes into if you manage, if you're trying to take
- 48:37Speaker 1: somebody from one level to the next level, these things
- 48:40Speaker 1: you need to know, and you have to know, and
- 48:42Speaker 1: you have to take them very seriously or you will
- 48:44Speaker 1: not be managing that person very long. Yeah. I always
- 48:48Speaker 1: to say, you know, you know, if you get the
- 48:50Speaker 1: question what is the manager, I always talk about we
- 48:52Speaker 1: were I consider myself more a strategist, right and that
- 48:56Speaker 1: we are positioning, positioning the client for success. In order
- 48:59Speaker 1: to position them for success, there has to be a roadmap,
- 49:01Speaker 1: there has to be a strategy, and it has to
- 49:03Speaker 1: be a long term vision, not a short term vision. Right. Um.
- 49:07Speaker 1: You know. In addition to that, you know, part of
- 49:10Speaker 1: that position, like you just mentioned, is how can I
- 49:12Speaker 1: make this person feel the most comfortable, the most directed
- 49:16Speaker 1: for success as possible and sometimes that is, you know,
- 49:20Speaker 1: to be very honest with you, what's what's in that
- 49:23Speaker 1: dressing room? Writer? To make them feel very comfortable going
- 49:26Speaker 1: to show time, right, you know, um, you know it's
- 49:30Speaker 1: and and then and the bigger, bigger pictures. Sometimes it's
- 49:32Speaker 1: it's having a real conversation with them. Where is your
- 49:35Speaker 1: goal line? What? How do you define success? Success is
- 49:38Speaker 1: defined by the eye to beholder. So tell me what
- 49:41Speaker 1: success is to you so I can help you achieve
- 49:44Speaker 1: it versus just assuming that we're just gonna, you know,
- 49:48Speaker 1: go for the moon. We're not sure right what where
- 49:50Speaker 1: the moon's at, or or or or or what size
- 49:53Speaker 1: it is. Always talk about, you know, setting sales towards
- 49:56Speaker 1: a continent. You don't you don't have to tell me
- 49:58Speaker 1: what country you want to go to, but let's at
- 50:00Speaker 1: least go to the right direction, right right right. And
- 50:03Speaker 1: it's really that's that's key because of the fact that
- 50:05Speaker 1: you have to be able to have those values like so, now, okay,
- 50:09Speaker 1: I'll stop managing Steve Harvard. Okay, I'm just so I'm
- 50:13Speaker 1: trying to find Rushawn's voice. Then I get a call
- 50:15Speaker 1: from a man, Stephen A. Smith at ESPN. Here we
- 50:17Speaker 1: should here we shut Uh, can we sit down and
- 50:21Speaker 1: talk talk about what not? Just talk, just talk, just talk.
- 50:25Speaker 1: Next thing, you know, I'm managing him. Then I get
- 50:27Speaker 1: a call from a Reva Martin che inter view on
- 50:30Speaker 1: one show just like this, Can we talk? Can we
- 50:33Speaker 1: have lunch? Now? Managing her? It's just that, it's just it.
- 50:36Speaker 1: But I know that when you manage people, I know,
- 50:41Speaker 1: you know, you know, you learned, and I feel that
- 50:43Speaker 1: that's what you're doing with your business, that you're creating.
- 50:45Speaker 1: With culture collecting, you're taking your experience and trying to
- 50:51Speaker 1: try to get and let people know. So talk a
- 50:52Speaker 1: little bit about what you exactly is trying to do
- 50:55Speaker 1: what their culture collected. Yeah. So, you know, I got
- 50:59Speaker 1: an interesting career, you know and entertainment and it's been
- 51:01Speaker 1: pretty dynamic. In college, you know, I was the guy
- 51:04Speaker 1: that booked a lot of concerts to come through. I
- 51:06Speaker 1: went to Draink University, small school in Iowa. You know, um,
- 51:10Speaker 1: you know, my story didn't didn't quite scream entertainment, you know,
- 51:15Speaker 1: in the beginning, you know, I went to school with
- 51:17Speaker 1: the small school sort of bookie shows. Got pretty good
- 51:20Speaker 1: at it, you know. At that time I worked with
- 51:22Speaker 1: everyone from Dave Matthews to one twelve right. So you know,
- 51:26Speaker 1: I was back in the in the night, late nineties,
- 51:28Speaker 1: and when I graduated, I thought I was I thought
- 51:31Speaker 1: it was hot stuff, and I thought that, um, I
- 51:33Speaker 1: could easily get a job in New York, right because
- 51:36Speaker 1: you know, nobody, nobody was doing it like I was, right,
- 51:39Speaker 1: And I went to I went to New York. I
- 51:40Speaker 1: slept with my parents friends couch, and I hit the

- 52:29Speaker 1: in the in the music Partnerships division. And that's what
- 52:31Speaker 1: really really my career took off right because I started
- 52:35Speaker 1: meeting a lot of high UH influential people. UM. I
- 52:39Speaker 1: started meeting making a lot of contact in the music industry,
- 52:42Speaker 1: especially on the on the record label side, UM which
- 52:45Speaker 1: labels were pretty much in that driver receipt at that point,
- 52:48Speaker 1: and UH I eventually shifted my career into live events
