- 0:01Good morning, everyone. This is Dana from the Rory Blue Candle,
- 0:05also known as Mentor365 Services.
- 0:08And today's topic, we are going to address about depression and how God can help you.
- 0:15Despite the weight of depression that can press in from every side,
- 0:21the Bible speaks truth that lights a path through the darkness.
- 0:25You are not abandoned, and your sorrow is not the final word.
- 0:30The palmist cried out from the depths, Why, my soul, are you downcast?
- 0:35Why so disturbed within me?
- 0:37Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise Him, my Savior and my God.
- 0:44Psalms 42, 11 In the midst of despair, God promised companionship and mercy.
- 0:52The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
- 0:57Psalm 34, 18 When the heaviest persists, remember Jesus' invitation is to bring
- 1:06out heavy burdens to Him.
- 1:09For He says, Come to Me, all who you are, weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
- 1:16Matthew 11, 28 god's word also reassure us that darkness is not the end of the story.
- 1:25Paul writes that the god of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in
- 1:32christ after you have suffered a little while will himself restore you and make you strong.
- 1:42In practical terms, this means turning toward Him with an honest prayer,
- 1:49telling Him the raw truth of your pain, asking for the strength to endure the day,
- 1:56and inviting Him to renew your mind.
- 2:02It also means letting the Scripture anchor you in fear and hopelessness.
- 2:09For rise for instant for
- 2:12i know the plans i have for you declares the
- 2:16lord plans to prosper you and not to harm you plans
- 2:19to give you hope in the future jeremiah 29 11 finally depression often thrives
- 2:27in isolation so if you guys don't understand what depression is it's a chemical
- 2:34imbalance it's a mental health illness that could be from.
- 2:41Starting either from self or from their environment. It could be biological.
- 2:46It could be hereditary, right?
- 2:48So sometime when a person is depressed, they can't eat, they can't sleep,
- 2:54they lose weight, they lost interest in activities.
- 2:57They can't do their ADLs, which is activity of daily living.
- 3:01What is ADLs? ADLs are grooming, showering,
- 3:06not able to eat and not able to sleep,
- 3:09not able to emulate and so forth they're
- 3:12not able to function that's depression so if you guys are going through that
- 3:18process you know lean to a community and trusted supporters who can bear your
- 3:25burden with you while you lean on God steady compassionate present even when you cannot feel him.
- 3:33God's promise remain true. He is with you.
- 3:36He is for you. And he can bring healing into his timing and in his ways.
- 3:41So believe in God, believe in Christ, believe in yourself.
- 3:45Without him, you know, this is for my personal opinion. Without him, I am nothing.
- 3:51You know, when my mom passed away five years ago, I leaned on God.
- 3:56I prayed about it. I let him guide me.
- 4:00You know, I let him um like um
- 4:05what's the word i'm looking for like i i
- 4:09prayed about it i healed um i
- 4:12had support from family and friends i was
- 4:15around positive people i didn't
- 4:18let this grief take over me i
- 4:21didn't let this trauma take over me because I
- 4:25have God because he can never
- 4:29forsaken me he's always there for
- 4:31me when I needed him and I'm a true believer of
- 4:34Christ you know you maybe believe in your
- 4:37higher power you know but I believe that
- 4:41there's only one God and he
- 4:44wears a lot of hats so that's what i believe in so you can heal by believing
- 4:53in christ and able to do things you know through him and ask for help and there's nothing wrong with that,
- 5:03so there you have it thank you so much guys for listening take care god bless.
