- 1:36Speaker 1: time of the year we always talk about making changes
- 1:38Speaker 1: in our lives. That's why I always talking about if
- 1:40Speaker 1: you have a gift or a passion, lead with your gifts.
- 1:43Speaker 1: If you have a gift, don't let your age, friends, family,
- 1:47Speaker 1: or co workers stop you from planning or living your dreams.
- 1:50Speaker 1: Hear me on that, stop it. Stop letting other people
- 1:53Speaker 1: make decisions for you. Follow your dream, follow your path.
- 1:56Speaker 1: But you all have a general tendency to use age
- 1:58Speaker 1: as an excuse with pursuing our dreams. Welcome. I welcome
- 2:03Speaker 1: getting old, y'all so I can reach my goals. Ain't
- 2:06Speaker 1: that crazy? I'm saying it publicly. I welcome getting old
- 2:10Speaker 1: so I can reach my goals. I don't care if
- 2:12Speaker 1: you're eighteen, forty, or sixty, and each one of those
- 2:16Speaker 1: age groups means something. Eighteen years old, tend to tell
- 2:20Speaker 1: people they're too young. You're trying to jump the lines.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Be patient. Forty years old, you get to that point
- 2:27Speaker 1: if you haven't done any of your career goals or
- 2:29Speaker 1: met the right person of working the right job, you
- 2:32Speaker 1: tend to shut down. You tend to get depressed. You
- 2:35Speaker 1: can't think that your life can't go any further, can't
- 2:38Speaker 1: get any bigger, can't get any better. And when you're sixty,
- 2:42Speaker 1: for some reason in your mind, you're trying to retire.
- 2:44Speaker 1: You're trying to quit on life. You're trying to give up.
- 2:47Speaker 1: We'll stop it. Stop using age as an excuse. That's
- 2:51Speaker 1: my whole platform for money making conversation, and this masterclass
- 2:55Speaker 1: series that I'm bringing to you every week is to
- 2:57Speaker 1: tell you stop it. Put down that mirror and stop

- 3:28Speaker 1: that's what I do on Money Making Conversation. That's who
- 3:30Speaker 1: I am ra Sean McDonald. I don't care if you

- 3:38Speaker 1: a plan in place, you can. Today is your time.
- 3:43Speaker 1: It's time to start reading other people's success stories and
- 3:46Speaker 1: start writing your own. Twenty two New Year's resolution for
- 3:50Speaker 1: me for Money Making Conversation to you is don't let
- 3:54Speaker 1: your age be an excuse. Today we'll be talking about
- 3:57Speaker 1: a number of things on this one hour show. The
- 4:01Speaker 1: show will have no interviews, will have no guests, because
- 4:03Speaker 1: I'm interviewing you. I'm talking to you about your opportunities.
- 4:07Speaker 1: I'm using this show. I'm using the tie that I'm
- 4:10Speaker 1: giving you right now to put you and point you
- 4:12Speaker 1: in the right direction to be successful. In two, the
- 4:16Speaker 1: pandemic is not going anywhere. You can't Stay Locked Up
- 4:21Speaker 1: eighteen forty sixty. This is the subject we're gonna talk about.
- 4:25Speaker 1: It's time to stop making these mistakes. I'm anna list
- 4:28Speaker 1: of mistakes you need to stop making. How to make
- 4:31Speaker 1: money with your brand. I got a great scenario that's
- 4:34Speaker 1: gonna help you see that you can be special, but
- 4:38Speaker 1: you gotta stop being this in order to be that.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Methods that will help you win when these strategies that
- 4:46Speaker 1: will keep you focused. I'm gonna help you outline your
- 4:49Speaker 1: plan to success. More importantly, I'm gonna help you know
- 4:53Speaker 1: your value steps to grow your career. Don't let your
- 4:57Speaker 1: fears hurt your career and other lords. Stop stopping yourself.
- 5:02Speaker 1: That's what we're talking about. That's what these master classes.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Every week, I'm gonna deliver the hour of master classes.
- 5:09Speaker 1: Some of your interview related some of the nuggets like
- 5:11Speaker 1: I'm dropping right now on you stop stopping yourself. I
- 5:15Speaker 1: can say it now. It's the top of the year.
- 5:17Speaker 1: This when we all make changes. That's when I eat
- 5:19Speaker 1: my black eye peas on on on New Year's Day
- 5:24Speaker 1: for that blessing. So I make sure I get some money.
- 5:27Speaker 1: All those superstitions come into place. But you know the
- 5:29Speaker 1: biggest superstition that you have to have is consistency. The
- 5:33Speaker 1: biggest superstition there to have is believe in yourself. The
- 5:35Speaker 1: biggest superstition you have to have is to have a plan.
- 5:39Speaker 1: And that's what we're talking about today. So welcome to
- 5:41Speaker 1: money making conversation. Let's get this show started. Two news resolutions.
- 5:46Speaker 1: My number one resolution is this, don't let your age
- 5:49Speaker 1: be an excuse. Don't let it be an excuse. Don't
- 5:52Speaker 1: let it stop you. Don't let it and hamper you,
- 5:56Speaker 1: because so many people have been pigeonholed in to believe
- 6:00Speaker 1: in that they have to reach a certain age. If
- 6:03Speaker 1: you haven't accomplished certain things, if you're a graduate from
- 6:06Speaker 1: college at twenty two, if you're in the method, if
- 6:08Speaker 1: you ever met the right person at twenty four, if
- 6:10Speaker 1: you hadn't gotten married at eight, if you don't have
- 6:13Speaker 1: your kids by thirty five, then you're not living the
- 6:17Speaker 1: perfect life. There's no such things as the perfect life.
- 6:19Speaker 1: The life you're trying to live is your life. Your life.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Are being able to win and win the conditions that
- 6:25Speaker 1: are available to you. Today we are living in a pandemic.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I thought it was over. I thought was going to
- 6:31Speaker 1: be at one. I was. I was, I was ready
- 6:34Speaker 1: to drop the mask. I was ready to roll out
- 6:37Speaker 1: there and guess what, a new one popped up on us.
- 6:41Speaker 1: So we know now that we have to be cautious.
- 6:44Speaker 1: I put new rules in place in my office in Atlanta, Georgia,
- 6:48Speaker 1: telling all my staff that if they walk under their office,
- 6:51Speaker 1: they have to wear a mask. If they are together
- 6:53Speaker 1: in the office together or standing around, they have to
- 6:56Speaker 1: be wearing a mask. We are a creative agency. That's
- 6:59Speaker 1: why we have to work with either one would like
- 7:01Speaker 1: to believe what can you do at home? Not? If
- 7:03Speaker 1: you're creative, you have to be in a position where
- 7:05Speaker 1: you need to collaborate, and that the marketing agencies you
- 7:08Speaker 1: have to collaborate. And that's what we're doing a lot
- 7:10Speaker 1: of collaborations. But let me talk about not me, let
- 7:12Speaker 1: me talk about you. Let me talk about some things
- 7:14Speaker 1: I want you to be able to do in twenty
- 7:17Speaker 1: two that's gonna make you successful. Today we're gonna talk
- 7:19Speaker 1: about it's time to stop making these mistakes. How to
- 7:23Speaker 1: make money with your brand. Aid should never be an excuse.
- 7:26Speaker 1: I'm bringing that back up again. Methods that will help
- 7:29Speaker 1: you win in twenty two winning strategies that will keep
- 7:33Speaker 1: you focused. In two, I'm gonna help you outline your plan,
- 7:38Speaker 1: know your value. I'm gonna tell the story that I
- 7:40Speaker 1: that helped me out and made me survive for five years.
- 7:43Speaker 1: That IBM knowing my value or creating value. And a
- 7:47Speaker 1: lot of people understand they get frustrated while they're not
- 7:49Speaker 1: getting promotion because they have not created value. To get
- 7:52Speaker 1: a promotion or created value for somebody to want to
- 7:55Speaker 1: come in and buy your product, you have to create
- 7:58Speaker 1: an interest. It works in so your media, it works
- 8:01Speaker 1: your life, it works in dating, it works in relationship,
- 8:05Speaker 1: it works with your raising your kids. If you have
- 8:07Speaker 1: respect and people feel a need to be a part
- 8:10Speaker 1: of that product or be a part of that life,
- 8:13Speaker 1: a part of that situation, then guess what you're win
- 8:16Speaker 1: with that steps to grow your career or your job
- 8:19Speaker 1: opportunities and don't let your fears hurt your career. I'm
- 8:24Speaker 1: also giving away a free money making conversation God Success.
- 8:28Speaker 1: It's a digital booklet that I created. It's called Money
- 8:31Speaker 1: Making Conversations God to Success. If you email me at
- 8:35Speaker 1: info at Rushan McDonald dot com, info at Rashan McDonald
- 8:39Speaker 1: dot com that I will send you that guy to success.
- 8:42Speaker 1: But let's get started. Let's get started out. Okay, here,
- 8:47Speaker 1: we're gonna talk about this right here up front. Are
- 8:49Speaker 1: giving you the topics again. How it's time to stop
- 8:52Speaker 1: making these excuses. How to make money with your brand
- 8:55Speaker 1: age and never be an excuse. Methods that will help
- 8:58Speaker 1: you win when your strategies will keep you focused. Outline
- 9:02Speaker 1: your plan for two. How to know your value or
- 9:05Speaker 1: create value for you or your product. The key to
- 9:08Speaker 1: success is communication. Consistency builds your business. Steps to grow
- 9:12Speaker 1: your career. Don't let your fears hurt your career. Stand out.
- 9:18Speaker 1: I gotta start with this number one topic because if
- 9:21Speaker 1: you don't make change, that's what the first part of
- 9:23Speaker 1: the year has to be about. Making change. If you're
- 9:25Speaker 1: not willing to make change, there's gonna be a problem.
- 9:28Speaker 1: And for now, I gotta tell you this, right now,
- 9:30Speaker 1: you have to stop making these mistakes. If you don't
- 9:32Speaker 1: make change, if you want to have a better life.
- 9:34Speaker 1: For two, and you've been frustrated in if you've been
- 9:40Speaker 1: frustrated your whole life, you have to stop making these mistakes.
- 9:43Speaker 1: And I made these mistakes. Number one, you have to
- 9:46Speaker 1: get a hobby. If you're running through life with no hobby,
- 9:49Speaker 1: then guess what it will lead to frustration. My hobby
- 9:52Speaker 1: right now, baking and cooking. I didn't have that hobby
- 9:56Speaker 1: to Steve Harvey pranked me on his talk show in
- 9:59Speaker 1: two twelve. I was just going through life like a
- 10:01Speaker 1: little little ratting wheel, just working, just working, just working,
- 10:05Speaker 1: no downtime, no down tip because I don't drink or smoke,
- 10:08Speaker 1: so I didn't have any liquids or anything that slowed
- 10:11Speaker 1: me down. So my mind was always constantly moving in
- 10:14Speaker 1: the direction pounding, pounding, pounding. Now I can share my
- 10:20Speaker 1: hobby with people. I put it on social media. People
- 10:22Speaker 1: say it all the time. They would say, Ri Shan,
- 10:24Speaker 1: you know whatever, you well, how how do you stay
- 10:27Speaker 1: like that? You don't get fat? Because that's my hobby.
- 10:29Speaker 1: But again, if you're gonna have a hobby, what you
- 10:32Speaker 1: have to realize health matters. Health matters. I was talking
- 10:39Speaker 1: to a good friend of mine, Stephen A. Smith, who
- 10:41Speaker 1: was right now battling COVID COVID the teen and and
- 10:45Speaker 1: I would tell you, you know, he and I both
- 10:47Speaker 1: we talked all the time. You know, yes, I do
- 10:50Speaker 1: manage him, but he's like a little little brother to me.
- 10:53Speaker 1: He's like a good friend of mine. And he told me,
- 10:56Speaker 1: he said, Rashan, you know, you know, I my advocate
- 11:00Speaker 1: of the mask and an advocate of vaccination and all that,
- 11:04Speaker 1: But he said, I still was slipping. You know, I
- 11:08Speaker 1: wear a mask. Sometimes I dropping unerneath my nose. You know,
- 11:11Speaker 1: I was tapping up people coming in, hugging them when
- 11:14Speaker 1: I shake their hands. So I was getting relaxed. In
- 11:18Speaker 1: the age of the pandemic. You cannot relax. You cannot
- 11:23Speaker 1: assume that the person you're talking to doesn't have symptoms,
- 11:28Speaker 1: are is not carrying the virus, the covid nati virus
- 11:32Speaker 1: or the armicron virus, whatever is out there. Now we
- 11:35Speaker 1: have to be smart about that. But beyond that, let's
- 11:38Speaker 1: go back to just being healthy period, eating the right thing,
- 11:42Speaker 1: high blood pressure, calming down. Because as African Americans, and
- 11:47Speaker 1: I'm assuming I'm talking to ninty five percent of my
- 11:50Speaker 1: listeners or viewers of African Americans, we eat. It's finally
- 11:54Speaker 1: here the season of celebration. And no matter how you
- 11:58Speaker 1: celebrate with family and friends, whether you're preparing for Reis
- 12:01Speaker 1: Magos or Karamu lighting the Manura, are going to midnight Mass.
- 12:05Speaker 1: Coals has just what you need to make those traditions special.
- 12:09Speaker 1: Plus you'll find gifts for all your loved ones. Send
- 12:12Speaker 1: warm wishes with cozy fleeces, sweaters, loungeware, blankets and throws.
- 12:17Speaker 1: Support minority owned or founded brands by giving gifts from
- 12:21Speaker 1: human Nation and shame moisture or treat them to everyone's
- 12:24Speaker 1: favorite active wear from top brands like Nike, Adidas, and
- 12:28Speaker 1: under Armor. And in the spirit of giving, Coals Cares
- 12:31Speaker 1: is donating eight million dollars to local nonprofits nationwide committed
- 12:36Speaker 1: to the health and well being of our communities. No
- 12:38Speaker 1: matter how you celebrate, when you shop at Coals, you're
- 12:42Speaker 1: right where you belong. So this season, give with all
- 12:45Speaker 1: your heart with great gifts from Coals or Coals dot Com.
- 12:49Speaker 1: Terrible were terrible eaters. That's why when COVID eighteen came out,
- 12:53Speaker 1: Who's victimimized the most African Americans? Who's victimized the most
- 13:00Speaker 1: elderly people? People whould compromise immune system? Now the elderly people,
- 13:05Speaker 1: you can give them a pass age is compromising their
- 13:08Speaker 1: immune system. But African Americans weight was compromising our immune system.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Eating habits were compromising our immune systems. The fact that
- 13:18Speaker 1: we live in close quarters compromising our immune system. The
- 13:23Speaker 1: fact that we generally use public transportation was compromising our
- 13:27Speaker 1: mune system. So basically our lifestyle, there are a couple
- 13:30Speaker 1: of things that we may not be able to change.
- 13:32Speaker 1: We may not be able to change the transportation, and
- 13:36Speaker 1: we may not be able to change our ability to
- 13:40Speaker 1: We may not be able to change where we live.
- 13:45Speaker 1: But we can change our weight, and we can change
- 13:49Speaker 1: how we eat. We can do that, So know how
- 13:54Speaker 1: you eat, know what you need to do. I just
- 13:56Speaker 1: came off vacation with my family. Here's a here's an
- 13:59Speaker 1: injury your story. When I started managing Steve Harvey and
- 14:03Speaker 1: two thousand, I didn't take a vacation to two thousand
- 14:06Speaker 1: and two because I was afraid. I was afraid that
- 14:12Speaker 1: if I stopped that everything that I was accomplishing was
- 14:15Speaker 1: a stop too. That's a lot of people like that
- 14:18Speaker 1: out there. They're afraid that they jump off that wheel,
- 14:22Speaker 1: then all the success or somebody would jump in front
- 14:25Speaker 1: of them. Fear. There's not even fear of failure, it's
- 14:30Speaker 1: just fear. It's a fear that you are manufacturing two
- 14:34Speaker 1: years so needless to say. I was stressed out, I
- 14:38Speaker 1: had a bad cough, I was losing weight with little
- 14:42Speaker 1: hair I had on my head at the time, was
- 14:44Speaker 1: getting thinner, but I was afraid to jump off that wheel.
- 14:49Speaker 1: So finally I had to jump off. When I jumped
- 14:51Speaker 1: off that wheel, I had to go on vacation. So
- 14:54Speaker 1: now I do take vacation. I do spend time with
- 14:56Speaker 1: the family. The family means something to me more then Hi, honey.
- 15:01Speaker 1: I'm home talking to my daughter, my daughter and telling
- 15:04Speaker 1: her I love her and making sure to ask her
- 15:06Speaker 1: about her grades. I spend time with them. I just
- 15:09Speaker 1: spent time with them this past weekend. Leave the week
- 15:12Speaker 1: before Christmas and New Year's went on a vacation. So
- 15:17Speaker 1: if you're saying that you don't have time for vacation,
- 15:20Speaker 1: I'm telling you you are a fool. You better make time.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Be to make time for yourself. They make time for
- 15:26Speaker 1: your family. They'll make time to relax your brain. So
- 15:29Speaker 1: now we went through no hobbies. You gotta get a hobby,
- 15:32Speaker 1: went through poor health. We talked about change. You're eating habits.
- 15:35Speaker 1: We're talking about dropping some weight. It can be done.
- 15:38Speaker 1: These are things you can control. Now we're talking about
- 15:41Speaker 1: no vacation. You gotta start taking vacation. Now. Let's move
- 15:43Speaker 1: on to something that's really important. Dating time. Dating time.
- 15:50Speaker 1: I don't have time to date. I ain't got time
- 15:51Speaker 1: to be fine, No, I ain't got tiving. Let me
- 15:54Speaker 1: just okay, we'll tell you some high works. When you're
- 15:57Speaker 1: in high school, there's a lot of options. When you
- 16:00Speaker 1: get in college, it still seems to be a lot
- 16:03Speaker 1: of options. When you get out of college, it drastically
- 16:07Speaker 1: changes the options because you just don't see people. You
- 16:12Speaker 1: can possibly they just walking around on campus or just
- 16:15Speaker 1: walking around your high school. They may be walking around
- 16:18Speaker 1: the job that you're working at. Maybe not because they
- 16:21Speaker 1: might be married. They may be already taken care of,
- 16:24Speaker 1: married by somebody else. So that cuts into your dating time.
- 16:28Speaker 1: And then when you have somebody who wants to date you,
- 16:31Speaker 1: I'm too busy. My job becomes a priority. No, it
- 16:35Speaker 1: cannot be that way, because it's gonna cut into your
- 16:38Speaker 1: family time. See, no dating time and no family time
- 16:41Speaker 1: are the same problems. No dating time, no family time.
- 16:45Speaker 1: You gotta be able to deal with both. You gotta
- 16:48Speaker 1: be able to understand that. You gotta be able to
- 16:49Speaker 1: take care of Hey, I'm telling you something. We stopped
- 16:51Speaker 1: talking right now. If you don't believe what I'm saying,
- 16:54Speaker 1: I hope you listen to money main conversations. This is
- 16:56Speaker 1: the first quarter. I'm trying to tell you. What you
- 16:58Speaker 1: need to do to change your life is you. You
- 17:02Speaker 1: have to look in the mirror. You have to put
- 17:03Speaker 1: down that stop sign. When I wake up every morning,
- 17:05Speaker 1: I look in the mirror. You know, when I see
- 17:06Speaker 1: I see a person who's tired. I see a person
- 17:09Speaker 1: who did want to get out of bed. That's me.
- 17:12Speaker 1: That's me. I'm just like you. I say, I get
- 17:15Speaker 1: up at fourth third every morning, but that doesn't mean
- 17:17Speaker 1: I want to get up. I look in that mirror
- 17:18Speaker 1: and I am not a happy camper. But I am
- 17:22Speaker 1: a happy camper because guess what, I can look in
- 17:24Speaker 1: the mirror and see myself and recognize the person I see.
- 17:28Speaker 1: There's a lot of people aren't waking up. There's a
- 17:30Speaker 1: lot of people that are in hospitals. So count your blessings,
- 17:34Speaker 1: understand your blessings, and appreciate the fact that you are
- 17:37Speaker 1: getting up. Use it with your own physical tools, walking
- 17:42Speaker 1: through the house through your own physical tools. So enjoy
- 17:45Speaker 1: that moment again. I gotta go back to something we
- 17:50Speaker 1: need to talk about not capitalizing on your success. What
- 17:53Speaker 1: does that mean? What's what does that means mean? Let
- 17:58Speaker 1: me tell you the IBM story, because my degreers in mathematics,
- 18:02Speaker 1: my mind and sociologist, and I was that IBM when
- 18:05Speaker 1: IBM hired me. They hired two white guys this way
- 18:09Speaker 1: back in three three nothing wrong. Well, no, I'm just
- 18:14Speaker 1: telling you the truth, you know. And when I sat
- 18:17Speaker 1: down with my supervisor, he asked me, Rashaan, what are
- 18:21Speaker 1: your goals and expectations? What do you want to what
- 18:23Speaker 1: do you what do you want to accomplish the IBM.
- 18:25Speaker 1: I told him I didn't know. I told him I
- 18:29Speaker 1: get back with him. Okay, Well, as time has it,
- 18:36Speaker 1: the two white guys they were getting opportunity to said,
- 18:40Speaker 1: I wasn't kidding. I'm huddling around with the other black
- 18:43Speaker 1: people that I bem mad. Look at that man they
- 18:48Speaker 1: started with me, and look at them. They already going
- 18:52Speaker 1: out of town on trips. They are already walking into
- 18:56Speaker 1: the meetings they go Rashan, didn't he talk with you?
- 19:00Speaker 1: So people starting to drop these ideas in my head
- 19:04Speaker 1: that is that the problem is not me. The problem
- 19:07Speaker 1: is to established me. The problem is, you know, white
- 19:11Speaker 1: people holding me back. So I went in the room
- 19:16Speaker 1: talked about supervisor because I was huffed up by then.
- 19:19Speaker 1: You know, I ain't saying I didn't break it down
- 19:21Speaker 1: into black and white, but I just went in there adamant,
- 19:23Speaker 1: how do why? How does Bill? But that's how I did?
- 19:26Speaker 1: Talk like that? How does Bell and Jimmy do things
- 19:31Speaker 1: that I'm not able to do? My supervisor? Close the door.
- 19:36Speaker 1: It's Rashan, he said, let's le let's walk here for me.
- 19:40Speaker 1: At here, he said, I like the way you draft, Rashan.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Now I'm working at my BM, not just in eighteen three.
- 19:49Speaker 1: I like the way you draft. He said, you got
- 19:52Speaker 1: the little pointy toe shoes. Zo got your little flannel
- 19:56Speaker 1: shirt on. Okay, you're you know you're your your coat
- 20:01Speaker 1: and your jacket don't match. You got a blazer on.
- 20:04Speaker 1: And he walked me down the wall. There's these pictures
- 20:07Speaker 1: on the wall, and i'd be and he said, I'm
- 20:09Speaker 1: not saying anything, but does anybody on that wall dressed
- 20:14Speaker 1: like you? And what ain't by race? He said, does
- 20:17Speaker 1: anybody on that wall dressed like you? I said no
- 20:22Speaker 1: and just walked away. He said, not come back to
- 20:25Speaker 1: my office. He said. Secondly, okay, I asked you when
- 20:30Speaker 1: you started, what were your goals and what did you
- 20:34Speaker 1: want to accomplish at IBM and what did you tell me?
- 20:38Speaker 1: Tell me? He said, no, no, I'll tell you. I
- 20:40Speaker 1: wrote it down right here. You said, I will get
- 20:43Speaker 1: back with you. What you said, right, he said, I
- 20:46Speaker 1: wrote it down right here, I will get back with you. Well,
- 20:50Speaker 1: I've been waiting with Sean. So when you're gonna get
- 20:53Speaker 1: back with me? Uh, okay, okay, I'm getting back with
- 20:59Speaker 1: you now. He said, how about tomorrow? So I went
- 21:03Speaker 1: home and I said, because it was about me now,
- 21:09Speaker 1: not capitalizing on my success. Because IBM gave me a job,
- 21:13Speaker 1: opportunity to be successful, I wasn't capitalizing on it. I
- 21:19Speaker 1: was sitting around there being cool, dressing cool, telling everybody
- 21:23Speaker 1: I worked for IBM. But I wasn't accomplishing anything, accomplishing
- 21:27Speaker 1: anything that I could be at IBM. I want to
- 21:32Speaker 1: The suit store bought me three suits. No from the
- 21:36Speaker 1: nine dollars. I'm talking about a three now, ain't nothing.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I was sharp and I went back in from me
- 21:40Speaker 1: a brown suit, gray shoo in the blue suit brought
- 21:44Speaker 1: me some conservative wing tips shoes from floor shine, went
- 21:48Speaker 1: back in the next day, white shirt. My supervisor and
- 21:53Speaker 1: my other fellow co workers didn't even recognize me. They
- 21:58Speaker 1: s is what's growing over here. This is when I realized,
- 22:01Speaker 1: right in the end, right there, you have to set
- 22:04Speaker 1: your own standards. If you want to be liked, If
- 22:07Speaker 1: you do any things in life because you want to
- 22:08Speaker 1: be like, then those are not standards. Standards are things
- 22:12Speaker 1: that people notice. Standards are things that when you do it,
- 22:16Speaker 1: people compliment to you about it or they ask you
- 22:20Speaker 1: about it. That's what standards are. They make you adjust,
- 22:25Speaker 1: they make you aware. So finally I walked into IBM,
- 22:28Speaker 1: and I had standards. And we're live here outside the
- 22:33Speaker 1: Perez family home, just waiting for the and there they go,
- 22:37Speaker 1: almost on time. This morning. Mom is coming out the
- 22:39Speaker 1: front door strong with a double arm kid carry. Looks
- 22:42Speaker 1: like dad has the bags. Daughter is bringing up the rear.
- 22:45Speaker 1: Oh but the diaper bag wasn't closed. Diapers and toys
- 22:50Speaker 1: are everywhere. Oh but mom has just nailed the perfect
- 22:54Speaker 1: car seat buckle for the toddler. And now the eldest
- 22:58Speaker 1: daughter who looks to be about nine or two and
- 23:00Speaker 1: has secured herself in the booster seat dead zips the
- 23:03Speaker 1: bad clothes and they're off. But looks like Mom doesn't
- 23:07Speaker 1: realize her coffee cup is still on the roof of
- 23:09Speaker 1: the car and there it goes. Oh, that's a shame
- 23:13Speaker 1: that mug was a fan favorite. Don't sweat the small stuff,
- 23:17Speaker 1: just nailed the big stuff, like making sure your kids
- 23:19Speaker 1: are buckled correctly in the right seat for their agent's eyes.
- 23:21Speaker 1: Learn more n h t s A dot gov slash
- 23:23Speaker 1: the Right Seat visits n h s A dot gov
- 23:27Speaker 1: Slash the Right Seat brought to you by NITZA and
- 23:30Speaker 1: the ad Council. I've been walking to IBM. I didn't
- 23:33Speaker 1: have standards. I was just getting along. I was just
- 23:36Speaker 1: being rashot Ko mo d fly life of the party.
- 23:44Speaker 1: When I walked in dressed like I worked for IBU,
- 23:49Speaker 1: I accepted as the standards of IBM. And by accepting
- 23:53Speaker 1: the standards of ib M, they've raised the expectations of me.
- 23:58Speaker 1: They saw value in me, and my career took off.
- 24:04Speaker 1: Every two months they were sending me to Atlanta because
- 24:07Speaker 1: I was based in Houston for management training. Management training.
- 24:13Speaker 1: But eventually, of course, I realized that Abbia was not
- 24:16Speaker 1: the career that I wanted because I wanted to pursue
- 24:19Speaker 1: a career as a stand up comedian. But I'm just
- 24:21Speaker 1: letting you know that did not stop me from challenging
- 24:24Speaker 1: myself and being the best that I could be at
- 24:27Speaker 1: the time that I needed to be. So when I
- 24:30Speaker 1: tell you not capitalizing on your success or your opportunities
- 24:33Speaker 1: to be great, that's an example of that. Right there,
- 24:36Speaker 1: I was allowing clouds of racism, clouds of uh, they're
- 24:41Speaker 1: doing me wrong, clouds of you know, some dude, they're tripping. No, no, no, no,
- 24:49Speaker 1: Rashan McDonald's was tripping. That's the problem. And here's another
- 24:54Speaker 1: story I want to share with you in two under
- 24:58Speaker 1: stop making mistakes. Stop making these mistakes fear of getting
- 25:03Speaker 1: your business relationship in writing? Whoa, whoa? Come on, come
- 25:08Speaker 1: on now, come on now, come on now, I testify.
- 25:13Speaker 1: Let's testify. So afraid to get it in writing because
- 25:18Speaker 1: you're afraid it's gonna go away. But I'm gonna tell
- 25:20Speaker 1: you something. If you don't get it in writing, it's
- 25:23Speaker 1: gonna go away. If you don't get it in writing,
- 25:28Speaker 1: it's not legitimate. If you don't get it in writing,
- 25:31Speaker 1: you cannot apply a business plan to it. Whoa alert
- 25:35Speaker 1: Alert Alert Alert fear of getting your business plan in writing? Wow,
- 25:45Speaker 1: how many of y'all out there dealing with that same
- 25:47Speaker 1: problem in business with somebody renting on the hook up,
- 25:52Speaker 1: got employees working for you on the side, don't have
- 25:57Speaker 1: real insurance? Come on now, because you are afraid to
- 26:03Speaker 1: get your business relationship in writing, afraid to let the
- 26:08Speaker 1: city know that you in business, so you don't have
- 26:10Speaker 1: a certificate on the wall. If you want to be
- 26:13Speaker 1: successful in life, everybody, as an employer or employer, as
- 26:19Speaker 1: a small business owner, it has to be in writing.
- 26:22Speaker 1: It has to be written down. It has to be
- 26:24Speaker 1: a point where you believe you can be what you're
- 26:27Speaker 1: dreaming of can be accomplished. So that leads me to
- 26:31Speaker 1: my next section of conversation here, how to make money
- 26:35Speaker 1: with your brand? Whoa brand? What does brand mean? What
- 26:41Speaker 1: does brand meet? Boy? That word has been tossed around
- 26:45Speaker 1: brand brand brand, brand, b r A n D b
- 26:49Speaker 1: r A n D brand brand brand. I'm gonna tell
- 26:52Speaker 1: you something about being the brain. In two thousand I
- 26:54Speaker 1: took over managing Steve Harvey. Two thousand, I told Steve
- 26:59Speaker 1: Harvey that I wanted to model his career as a brand.
- 27:03Speaker 1: I wanted to treat him like a corporation, treat him
- 27:06Speaker 1: like a business. He said, what do you mean? I said,
- 27:10Speaker 1: why why can't you, Steve Harvey, have the same rules
- 27:17Speaker 1: as an IBM, as a Disney, as a foid. Why
- 27:20Speaker 1: can't you have the same standards, the same stipulation. Why
- 27:23Speaker 1: can't you be a brand? Because those are recognizable brands.
- 27:29Speaker 1: That was before social media, that was in two thousand.
- 27:33Speaker 1: Because I felt at the time that Steve Harvey could
- 27:37Speaker 1: cross over. I feel at the time that Steve Harvey
- 27:40Speaker 1: was was a brilliant talent and he is still today
- 27:44Speaker 1: a breath of town. Look at what he's accomplished in
- 27:48Speaker 1: his career and look how much he has crossed over.
- 27:52Speaker 1: Because I started marketing him and treating his brand like
- 27:58Speaker 1: a business. I started having the same rules, the same
- 28:01Speaker 1: level of expectations. Because see what happens is I always
- 28:04Speaker 1: tell people we're living in the Mohammed Ali era. Peopriginal
- 28:08Speaker 1: Mohammad Alia, the Mohammed Ali era. You know what that means.
- 28:13Speaker 1: That means. That means that you can shout out your greatness.
- 28:22Speaker 1: That means that you, my friend, can make it happen.
- 28:27Speaker 1: That means that you can be great. That means that
- 28:33Speaker 1: you can be special. That means that you can do
- 28:36Speaker 1: whatever you want to do when you want to do it,
- 28:39Speaker 1: because social media allows you to do it. If Coca
- 28:42Speaker 1: Cola can see they're the best soft drink. If McDonald's
- 28:45Speaker 1: can say they've got a great hamburger, if five guys
- 28:48Speaker 1: can say they got great fires, if Ford say they've
- 28:51Speaker 1: got a great truck. Why can't you say you're the best.
- 28:55Speaker 1: Why can't you shout out your greatness? Why can't you
- 28:57Speaker 1: be prime time? That's the world we're living in. How
- 29:02Speaker 1: to make money as your brand, first of all, you
- 29:03Speaker 1: have to tell people have a brand. First of all,
- 29:06Speaker 1: you have to have a product. First of all, have
- 29:07Speaker 1: to have a business. First of all, we have to
- 29:09Speaker 1: open no time. You have to close at the same time.
- 29:12Speaker 1: You can't open up when you want to close when
- 29:13Speaker 1: you want to. It's called consistency. That's what the brand
- 29:17Speaker 1: is all about. That's why every day, if Steve Harvey
- 29:22Speaker 1: does not turn on the mic a six am Monday
- 29:25Speaker 1: through produd Monday through Friday, that's a problem. That means
- 29:29Speaker 1: his brand is off or something's wrong. That's what the
- 29:34Speaker 1: brand is. So when you show the work. If somebody
- 29:37Speaker 1: tells you to show up at work at eight and
- 29:39Speaker 1: you show up at work at eight oh five, then
- 29:42Speaker 1: there's an inconsistency in your brand and people are gonna
- 29:44Speaker 1: start looking at you as a something they can't trust.
- 29:49Speaker 1: Because you are a brand. You are a product. You
- 29:52Speaker 1: are a walking, talking product. Everything you do in this era,
- 29:58Speaker 1: in the age of social media, you are a brand.
- 30:01Speaker 1: In two thousand, when I saw Steve Harvey as a brand,
- 30:03Speaker 1: I didn't have social media. But today, because of social media,
- 30:08Speaker 1: because of accountability, because of cell phones, you are on
- 30:14Speaker 1: a twenty four hour o'clock nowadays. It used to be
- 30:17Speaker 1: when I was growing up, when you love home. If
- 30:19Speaker 1: they didn't call you, you you didn't get that called to,
- 30:21Speaker 1: you got back home, and then they had answer machine.
- 30:24Speaker 1: You answutely listen to playback your messages. You find out
- 30:28Speaker 1: who called you. Now then they went to pages. Okay,
- 30:31Speaker 1: then pages they could page you. Now cell phones allow
- 30:36Speaker 1: you to have a twenty four hour lease. Now because
- 30:38Speaker 1: of the pandemic zoom called virtual meetings actually more taxing
- 30:45Speaker 1: before when you were working regular hours because there's no time,
- 30:50Speaker 1: there's no downtime, just one meeting after next meeting, after
- 30:53Speaker 1: next meeting, after next meeting, and you're always up at
- 30:56Speaker 1: this level. That's the era we live in. That's your brand.
- 30:59Speaker 1: So in order to be successful with that brand, you
- 31:01Speaker 1: got a lot harder to make money with your brand.
- 31:04Speaker 1: How to make money with your brand? Let me just
- 31:06Speaker 1: let me shout out this little simple story about making
- 31:09Speaker 1: money with your brand. Listen to me this. There's a
- 31:13Speaker 1: there's a very simple story I would tell peop about.
- 31:17Speaker 1: Just because you look like somebody don't mean you're supposed
- 31:20Speaker 1: to make the same amount of money. Just because you
- 31:22Speaker 1: look like somebody doesn't mean that people see you the
- 31:26Speaker 1: same way. Just because you look like somebody doesn't mean
- 31:30Speaker 1: that the people expect the same things from you, then
- 31:33Speaker 1: they expect from the other person to see. Look for
- 31:36Speaker 1: your children's eyes to see the true magic of a forest.
- 31:40Speaker 1: It's a storybook world for them. You look and see
- 31:43Speaker 1: a tree. They see the rink of face of a
- 31:46Speaker 1: wizard with arms outstretched to the sky. They see treasure
- 31:50Speaker 1: and pebbles, They see a windy path that could lead
- 31:53Speaker 1: to adventure, and they see you. They're fearless. Guide is
- 31:57Speaker 1: this fascinating world? Find a forest in your you and
- 32:00Speaker 1: start exploring and discovered the forest dot orgon brought to
- 32:03Speaker 1: you by the United States Forest Service and the Council.
- 32:06Speaker 1: I call it the chicken versus the eagle. All brands
- 32:11Speaker 1: are not created equal. So if you look like somebody
- 32:14Speaker 1: doesn't mean that you're going to get the same amount
- 32:17Speaker 1: of money. I'm gonna get your same monitor aspect are
- 32:20Speaker 1: gonna be treated the same way. And that's a classic
- 32:23Speaker 1: example a chicken versus the eagle. They both lay eggs
- 32:28Speaker 1: and both are covered with feathers, but these two creatures
- 32:31Speaker 1: evoked two different levels of respect. The eagle is proud, noble,
- 32:36Speaker 1: and lauded by his peers, while the chicken is something
- 32:38Speaker 1: you'll find on the line and the launch buffet. When
- 32:42Speaker 1: it comes to life, why would you want to be
- 32:44Speaker 1: eating like the chicken when you can shot like an eagle.
- 32:46Speaker 1: Hear that? Hear that? Okay, there's a lot of chickens
- 32:50Speaker 1: out there. Look look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look, look,
- 32:52Speaker 1: just pecking, pecking, pecking. For many of you out there,
- 32:55Speaker 1: you're living your lives and the chicken coop when you
- 32:57Speaker 1: don't even know it. This can ain't from a bad
- 33:00Speaker 1: relationship to disrespectful kids, to a terrible job, to provide
- 33:03Speaker 1: no opportunity for success or even to an uncomfortable lifestyle.
- 33:08Speaker 1: That's where the chicken coop can be. I'm just using
- 33:11Speaker 1: an analogy to your life to a chicken. And nobody
- 33:17Speaker 1: wants to be a chicken, but we all be coming
- 33:19Speaker 1: a chicken. I was a chicken at one time. I
- 33:21Speaker 1: was just going through the motions. I was a chicken
- 33:24Speaker 1: at IBM when I was winning the pointy toe shoes
- 33:27Speaker 1: or you know the sexy shirt, you know the non
- 33:30Speaker 1: matching coat and jacket. I was a chicken. I wasn't
- 33:34Speaker 1: going anywhere. I was getting a check going home. I
- 33:38Speaker 1: was never gonna be promoted. I was never going to
- 33:40Speaker 1: be uh putting in front of anybody to speak publicly.
- 33:44Speaker 1: I was never going to be the voice of IBM
- 33:46Speaker 1: because I was a chicken. The only people who run
- 33:50Speaker 1: for president of Eagles, people who achieve respect. All the
- 33:55Speaker 1: people who who who are acknowledged for theirs are Eagles.
- 34:01Speaker 1: They don't acknowledge chickens. People eat chickens. Yeah, what always
- 34:07Speaker 1: they wanted to find out the breast, the thigh. That's
- 34:10Speaker 1: only want from chickens. You don't want to be a chicken.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Like the chicken. That doesn't matter how many eggs you lay,
- 34:17Speaker 1: whether you lay them in the day at night, you
- 34:20Speaker 1: always expected to lay eggs, which means the work never stops.
- 34:25Speaker 1: There's no extra pay, no extra love, and most importantly,
- 34:28Speaker 1: no extra happiness. You never wake up with a plan
- 34:31Speaker 1: to be successful and always pecking and scraping at the
- 34:34Speaker 1: dirt define your success. I'm preaching now, y'all because I'm
- 34:39Speaker 1: tired of us understanding that we have devalued ourselves because
- 34:44Speaker 1: we're huddling up with other chickens. And nobody wants to
- 34:49Speaker 1: be the eagle because you know why. It takes work,
- 34:52Speaker 1: because you have to get up on time every day
- 34:53Speaker 1: to be an equal. You have to look a certain
- 34:55Speaker 1: way to be an equal. You have to have people
- 34:58Speaker 1: put expectations on you to be an eagle. There's pressure
- 35:02Speaker 1: to be an eagle. But guess what you want to
- 35:06Speaker 1: be an eagle? You want that. You don't want that
- 35:10Speaker 1: job that has no extra pay, new extra love, and
- 35:13Speaker 1: most important to no extra happiness. Wow, when you're chicken,
- 35:19Speaker 1: you never wake up with a plan to be successful.
- 35:22Speaker 1: Like I said, it's just terrible. But this is a
- 35:25Speaker 1: completely unlike the eagle. I ain't said much because you
- 35:30Speaker 1: know something, I've been talking about the chicken, this whole
- 35:32Speaker 1: conversation about your chicken. You know why, because when I
- 35:34Speaker 1: get to the eagle, I don't have much to say
- 35:38Speaker 1: because it's so well respected. Sores through the air get
- 35:43Speaker 1: respect for any chicken. They've comes by, chicken or run
- 35:48Speaker 1: from an eagle. Any creature that comes across the eagle
- 35:53Speaker 1: is aggressive with their hunt for success. The eagles goal
- 35:58Speaker 1: is to fight to keep it place in the game,
- 36:01Speaker 1: and they keep winning. Wow, that's what an eagle is.
- 36:06Speaker 1: But you cool with being a chicken. You're cool with
- 36:10Speaker 1: laying them eggs. You're cool with going to work, laying eggs,
- 36:16Speaker 1: getting off work, coming back to next day, laying some
- 36:19Speaker 1: more eggs. And I don't care if you lay a
- 36:22Speaker 1: dozen eggs that day or two eggs that day. But
- 36:25Speaker 1: I can assure you you keep laying those two eggs,
- 36:29Speaker 1: you will be laying eggs in that office no more.
- 36:32Speaker 1: They're gonna keep pushing you. You love dozen't they want
- 36:35Speaker 1: two dozen because they see you as a person they
- 36:38Speaker 1: can replace. People don't look to replace eagles, but they
- 36:43Speaker 1: do look to replace chickens. You don't want to be
- 36:46Speaker 1: a chicken. You're gonna be something that people expect you
- 36:51Speaker 1: to be. You want to be. That's what chickens are.
- 36:56Speaker 1: And when people think like chickens and lie, guess what
- 37:01Speaker 1: they start doing. They start using ages and excuse as
- 37:04Speaker 1: to why they are chicken. Well, i'm forty, i'm fifty,
- 37:08Speaker 1: I'm sixty. You don't know if I want me, I
- 37:12Speaker 1: don't want nobody. My children get on my nerves. My
- 37:17Speaker 1: man get on my nerves, my woman get on my nerves,
- 37:19Speaker 1: my mate gets on my nerves, my friends get on
- 37:22Speaker 1: my everybody gets on your nerves. Because you're just full
- 37:24Speaker 1: of excuses. But the number one excuse that you always
- 37:27Speaker 1: pull out of the bag is age. You know why,
- 37:31Speaker 1: because you're planning your death. I want you to stop
- 37:34Speaker 1: planning your death and start planning your success. Don't act young,
- 37:39Speaker 1: act on being you retirements for old people. Social media
- 37:45Speaker 1: does not have an age limit. Be a game changing
- 37:48Speaker 1: when you hit fifty years of age, turn that experience
- 37:53Speaker 1: into cash. Stop reading success stories and start writing your own.
- 37:58Speaker 1: That's what I said at the top of every one
- 38:00Speaker 1: of my Money Making Conversation episodes. Stop reading success stories
- 38:06Speaker 1: to start writing your own. Methods that will help you win.
- 38:10Speaker 1: If you want to start a business. The key is
- 38:13Speaker 1: it's not even about the business. How to maintain a
- 38:17Speaker 1: balanced life. You want to market your brand successfully and
- 38:22Speaker 1: you want to increase your worth. That's what this is
- 38:24Speaker 1: all about, y'all. That's what this is all about. Methods
- 38:29Speaker 1: that will help you win. If methods that will help
- 38:33Speaker 1: you win. If you want to win start a business,
- 38:39Speaker 1: you have to have a balanced life. You want to
- 38:41Speaker 1: market your brand successfully. And when did I say about
- 38:44Speaker 1: your brand If you want to have a brand commons responsibility.
- 38:49Speaker 1: When you do take on the responsibility, then you're able
- 38:52Speaker 1: to increase your worth. If you increase your worth, then
- 38:55Speaker 1: your value means something. What are some of those winning
- 38:58Speaker 1: strategies that will help you keep you focused? Wow? You
- 39:05Speaker 1: know what I'm at the point of this conversation in
- 39:09Speaker 1: two this episode is about you. You know, I'm not
- 39:13Speaker 1: interviewing Brish of TV Jakes, I'm not interviewing sas you're entertaining.
- 39:16Speaker 1: I'm not interviewing Stephen A. Smith, I'm not interviewing Tambla Man,
- 39:19Speaker 1: I'm not interviewing anybody. I'm interviewing you. That's who you
- 39:27Speaker 1: Because if you want winning strategies that would keep you focused,
- 39:31Speaker 1: build a mindset for success. What does that mean with Sean?
- 39:34Speaker 1: That means that you have to have a plan in
- 39:37Speaker 1: place that works for you, not your friend, not your cousin,
- 39:41Speaker 1: not your wife, and not your husband, not your mate.
- 39:43Speaker 1: That works for you. That mindset works for you. How
- 39:47Speaker 1: you dress works for you. I mean when I was
- 39:49Speaker 1: writing in Hollywood, you know, when you're in the writer's room,
- 39:52Speaker 1: you can dress any kind of way, short pains, wrinkle
- 39:54Speaker 1: t shirts. Every day. I wore a suit and tie
- 39:58Speaker 1: and a vest. I always have my vest off. I
- 40:02Speaker 1: don't have my jacket on. I want my vest. And
- 40:05Speaker 1: they used to nickname. Chris Benson used to call me
- 40:07Speaker 1: very talented comedian actor. Right, he just called me vest.
- 40:11Speaker 1: The e s t vest. If he sees me today,
- 40:14Speaker 1: he said it was a vest because you know, that
- 40:16Speaker 1: was That's what everybody knew because Rashaan has standards. I
- 40:21Speaker 1: had a brand, and when you have a brand, you
- 40:23Speaker 1: create ways that I'll perform the competition of people recognize you.
- 40:27Speaker 1: So people recognize me because they saw certain levels of expectation.
- 40:31Speaker 1: They respected the way I looked and where I carried myself,
- 40:34Speaker 1: and I marketed that I marketed. I would go to
- 40:36Speaker 1: different shows and people will let me on set because
- 40:39Speaker 1: of the where I looked, because they felt I was important,
- 40:41Speaker 1: They felt I was I was going someplace because of
- 40:44Speaker 1: my brand. Should When you have a brand, people don't
- 40:47Speaker 1: look at you like you shouldn't be there. When you
- 40:49Speaker 1: have a brand, people welcome you because they feel you
- 40:52Speaker 1: should be there. That's all I was doing with my brand.
- 40:56Speaker 1: But more importantly, when you have a brand. When you
- 41:00Speaker 1: have it, you have to outline your plan. And this
- 41:03Speaker 1: is five quick steps and outlining your plan one set
- 41:07Speaker 1: of goal. Make that plan, get to work, stick to it,
- 41:14Speaker 1: reach their goal. That's it. Set a goal, make their plan,
- 41:19Speaker 1: get to work, stick to it, reach their goal. Some
- 41:25Speaker 1: people do it by graduating high school, going to college.
- 41:29Speaker 1: That's their goal. They plan. An accident is by graduating
- 41:32Speaker 1: from college. When they graduat from college, they're good. They're
- 41:36Speaker 1: good a job. When they graduate job, they stick to it.
- 41:41Speaker 1: If they have aspirations they become a manager, supervisor, or
- 41:45Speaker 1: vice president, and that may be their goal, but everybody
- 41:49Speaker 1: has a different goal to that process. In fact, that
- 41:53Speaker 1: whold goal that I just outline could just be high
- 41:56Speaker 1: school to graduation. Set the goal make the and get
- 42:00Speaker 1: to work stick to it, which the goal could be.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Graduation is however you want to lose that use that.
- 42:06Speaker 1: When I'm telling you the outline your plan, it's however
- 42:08Speaker 1: you want to use it. But you gotta have a plan.
- 42:10Speaker 1: You have to be able to outline and when you're
- 42:12Speaker 1: building your plan, you have to measure your progress because
- 42:15Speaker 1: solid plan and stick to it. Five mentors who support
- 42:18Speaker 1: your plan right down your goals, create a vision board
- 42:22Speaker 1: and eliminate bad habits when you build your plan. You
- 42:26Speaker 1: have to have all these things in place in order
- 42:28Speaker 1: to win. And there's nothing wrong with working twice as hard.
- 42:31Speaker 1: Sometimes as entrepreneurs and employees, we undervalue ourselves. Having this
- 42:35Speaker 1: mindset can diminish your brand and create missed opportunity to
- 42:38Speaker 1: excel in the business. Well, the key to any level
- 42:41Speaker 1: of success is communications. Communication begins with listening. Success in
- 42:46Speaker 1: business is greatly impacted by the way you communicate, and
- 42:49Speaker 1: you have to learn to communicate with people, not at people.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I was a big shouter. I was a big screamer
- 42:55Speaker 1: and one of the biggest mistakes in our life when
- 42:57Speaker 1: I realized I need to start talking to people, and
- 42:59Speaker 1: I just start and the people, and I need to
- 43:01Speaker 1: show people respect when they talk back to me and
- 43:03Speaker 1: not always act like I know everything because after while,
- 43:07Speaker 1: people just let you. Told you to talking when you
- 43:09Speaker 1: know everything and get to what you find out you
- 43:11Speaker 1: don't know that much at all. And when you're doing
- 43:13Speaker 1: all this truth is built through consistency. Consistently promote your brand,
- 43:18Speaker 1: consistent delivers value to your customers. This is really what
- 43:22Speaker 1: this is all about, y'all. I want you to stand out.
- 43:25Speaker 1: I want you to respect your employees. But more important,
- 43:28Speaker 1: as we grow, if we talk about these topics, because
- 43:30Speaker 1: this is not just gonna be a one time I'm
- 43:31Speaker 1: talking about it, this money making conversation episode that I'm
- 43:34Speaker 1: putting together, this two is for you and more important
- 43:38Speaker 1: when I when I talk about everything that I'm talking about,
- 43:40Speaker 1: when I'm talking about changing your life, when I'm talking
- 43:43Speaker 1: about you dropping these bad habits. The number one thing
- 43:46Speaker 1: I want you to do is put down your stop
- 43:48Speaker 1: sign so you can start winning. That's all I want you,
- 43:52Speaker 1: put down your stop sign so you can start winning.
