- 0:01Speaker 1: I want to get to two different stories real quick
- 0:03Speaker 1: that are really important heading in to next year. And
- 0:08Speaker 1: number one, it deals with House Speaker Johnson. There have
- 0:12Speaker 1: been a lot of people that are out there that
- 0:14Speaker 1: have been trying to start a war between Speaker Johnson
- 0:19Speaker 1: with a cr and with Donald Trump and wanting him
- 0:22Speaker 1: to lose a speakership. Now there's been chaos because the
- 0:26Speaker 1: margin of victory for the Republicans in the House has
- 0:29Speaker 1: been so small that people, for example, like Matt Gates
- 0:32Speaker 1: have been able to cost people their jobs in leadership positions.
- 0:36Speaker 1: He was clearly able to do that with Kevin McCarthy,
- 0:39Speaker 1: costs him the job he won his entire life Speaker
- 0:41Speaker 1: of the House, and now Ken McCarthy's no longer even
- 0:44Speaker 1: in Congress. This has gotten a little bit out of
- 0:47Speaker 1: control because there have been a few people that realize
- 0:51Speaker 1: how much power they have if they go against their
- 0:53Speaker 1: own party. We need to learn a little bit from
- 0:55Speaker 1: the Democratic Party here. We need to act like adults
- 0:58Speaker 1: and not have people going rogue just for their own
- 1:01Speaker 1: personal gain or for attention, or for fame, or for
- 1:04Speaker 1: tweets and likes and retweets. And we need to have
- 1:07Speaker 1: some order in the House Speaker Johnson. I want to
- 1:10Speaker 1: be clear, I think is by far the best conservative
- 1:15Speaker 1: that we could get.
- 1:16Speaker 2: If you get rid.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Of Speaker Johnson and then you have to rely on
- 1:21Speaker 1: Democrats to get a deal done with a new speaker,
- 1:24Speaker 1: you're gonna get a much more liberal speaker. I don't
- 1:27Speaker 1: believe you're gonna get a more conservative speaker than Speaker Johnson.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Do I think Speaker Johnson is like the most hardcore
- 1:34Speaker 1: conservative out there?
- 1:36Speaker 2: Is he my perfect speaker?
- 1:38Speaker 1: No, but I think he's the best speaker we can get,
- 1:41Speaker 1: the most conservative speaker we can get with this thin
- 1:44Speaker 1: margin that.
- 1:44Speaker 2: We have right now.
- 1:46Speaker 1: Now, there have been a lot of people pushing for
- 1:49Speaker 1: their own fame on social media, trying to start a
- 1:52Speaker 1: war between Speaker Johnson. These are a lot of these
- 1:55Speaker 1: are quote hardcore conservatives who want there to be a
- 2:00Speaker 1: tests and they want to seem extremely powerful in their tweets,
- 2:03Speaker 1: who are trying to start this war with Mike Johnson,
- 2:06Speaker 1: trying to cost them a jobs they can flex their muscles,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and these people I hate the most.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Now.
- 2:11Speaker 1: One of the reasons why I hate some of these
- 2:13Speaker 1: hardcore quote conservative influencers on social media and podcasters is
- 2:18Speaker 1: because you can buy their support. A lot of people
- 2:22Speaker 1: don't know this, but some of the biggest tweeters in
- 2:24Speaker 1: the conservative movement, you can buy their tweets. You can
- 2:29Speaker 1: call them, you can offer them five, ten, fifteen, twenty, twenty, five,
- 2:33Speaker 1: thirty thousand dollars or more for them to do campaigns
- 2:37Speaker 1: to either promote a candidate or to trash an opponent.
- 2:44Speaker 2: This is happening more often.
- 2:46Speaker 1: Now, how do I know this happening because I know
- 2:49Speaker 1: some of the people that have paid some of these
- 2:51Speaker 1: hardcore conservative influencers significant cash for them to say certain things. Now,
- 2:58Speaker 1: let's let me explain how unauthored some of these tweets are.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Many of the people that are buying tweets will send
- 3:06Speaker 1: the exact tweet they want the conservative social media influence
- 3:11Speaker 1: that has million plus followers on Facebook or Twitter or
- 3:15Speaker 1: on Instagram, and they'll do a deal and they'll say, Hey,
- 3:18Speaker 1: we're going to pay your company twenty grand or thirty
- 3:21Speaker 1: grand or fifteen thousand, depending on their number of followers,
- 3:24Speaker 1: for you to echo this person that we want to
- 3:28Speaker 1: either save or get elected. This has become normal practice
- 3:33Speaker 1: for them, and they're making I want to be clear,
- 3:35Speaker 1: millions of dollars off of doing this. There are many
- 3:38Speaker 1: that are out there that are saying things against Speaker
- 3:40Speaker 1: Johnson right now that.
- 3:41Speaker 2: I actually don't believe, believe what they're saying.
- 3:44Speaker 1: They're getting paid by groups and organizations and others to
- 3:50Speaker 1: say this, and it's a problem.
- 3:52Speaker 2: Like it's a really big problem.
- 3:55Speaker 1: And I want you to understand that if you see
- 3:58Speaker 1: what I would refer to as a coordinated effort out
- 4:01Speaker 1: of nowhere to attack a congressman. A great example of
- 4:05Speaker 1: this is chip Roy chip Roy a week ago, there
- 4:08Speaker 1: was a lot of people that went after chip Roory
- 4:10Speaker 1: out of out Roy, out of nowhere, and it was
- 4:13Speaker 1: a coordinate attack.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I believe that it was a paid for, coordinated attack.
- 4:17Speaker 1: And this is just one example to try to shut
- 4:20Speaker 1: him up and get him back in line. And they
- 4:23Speaker 1: were mad at him, and it was a power play,
- 4:25Speaker 1: and this is what is being done by special interest
- 4:28Speaker 1: groups in the conservative movement. Now, chip Roy survived it,
- 4:31Speaker 1: He's gonna be okay. But there are a lot of
- 4:34Speaker 1: people that are like, if you don't do this, then
- 4:36Speaker 1: you should be primaried, for example by Donald Trump. A
- 4:39Speaker 1: lot of those types of tweets that you saw, and
- 4:42Speaker 1: you can go back and find.
- 4:43Speaker 2: Them were paid for.
- 4:45Speaker 1: That campaign was a orchestrated financial campaign, and many of
- 4:51Speaker 1: the biggest names that were tweeting some things like that,
- 4:54Speaker 1: like if you don't agree with this with MAGA, then
- 4:56Speaker 1: you should be primaried. Those tweets were not authentic, They
- 4:59Speaker 1: were not They were paid to play tweets. Again, how
- 5:03Speaker 1: do I know this because I know some of the
- 5:05Speaker 1: people that were paying, and I know some of the
- 5:07Speaker 1: people that are being paid.
- 5:09Speaker 2: In fact, I know some of the people that are
- 5:10Speaker 2: being paid. Well.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Now, to be clear, I have never accepted money for
- 5:16Speaker 1: a tweet that I didn't write, that I didn't believe in. Now,
- 5:21Speaker 1: I could sell tweets, I could sell Facebook posts, and
- 5:26Speaker 1: I could make for my family well into the six figures.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I could sell access, for example, to my show. There
- 5:35Speaker 1: are people on social media, by the way, with large
- 5:40Speaker 1: followings on YouTube and large followings and podcasts. You can
- 5:45Speaker 1: actually buy topics in their show, episodes in their show
- 5:51Speaker 1: as part of your marketing campaign.
- 5:53Speaker 2: So let me explain how that works.
- 5:56Speaker 1: Let's say there's somebody out there that's like running for office,
- 5:59Speaker 1: or someone that's in trouble and they need good press.
- 6:03Speaker 1: There are certain podcasts that you can call and say, hey,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I want you to come on your show, and I
- 6:09Speaker 1: want you to do a full throated support of this
- 6:13Speaker 1: embattled congressman or governor or attorney general, whoever it may be,
- 6:18Speaker 1: and if you'll do it, then we'll pay you X
- 6:22Speaker 1: to do that show.
- 6:24Speaker 2: I've never in my life done that.
- 6:26Speaker 1: I want to be clear, and I will never do
- 6:28Speaker 1: that because that is exactly the opposite of what I
- 6:31Speaker 1: believe in.
- 6:32Speaker 2: That is paid propaganda.
- 6:34Speaker 1: If someone calls me and says, I'll give you another
- 6:37Speaker 1: example of this. Someone called me and offered me money
- 6:40Speaker 1: to do a show advocating or supporting for an individual
- 6:48Speaker 1: I believe in the individual, and I told him, I said,
- 6:50Speaker 1: Number one, I can't be bought. Number two, I actually
- 6:53Speaker 1: like your guy, and I am more than happy to
- 6:56Speaker 1: give him supporting words because I believe in him and
- 6:59Speaker 1: what he's done.
- 7:00Speaker 2: I'm not gonna take money to do it.
- 7:02Speaker 1: And the reason why I'm not gonna take money is
- 7:04Speaker 1: because then I am a pay to play individual. I
- 7:09Speaker 1: my audience wouldn't know what I believe in or what
- 7:12Speaker 1: is me pushing them propaganda Things that I don't actually
- 7:16Speaker 1: care about, things that don't actually believe in things I
- 7:18Speaker 1: would have never said, and they're listening to shows that
- 7:20Speaker 1: I would have never done on my own, but I
- 7:22Speaker 1: took a buck to do it. By the way, this
- 7:25Speaker 1: is also an interesting part of this is one of
- 7:28Speaker 1: the reasons why you know, there's some people that get
- 7:29Speaker 1: frustrated because they hear advertising in radio and in podcasts.
- 7:35Speaker 2: That's how we make our money.
- 7:37Speaker 1: I could actually make a lot more money if I
- 7:39Speaker 1: didn't do those ads and I just took pay to play.
- 7:42Speaker 2: Hey, I'll support this guy.
- 7:43Speaker 1: Pay me twenty five grand and I'll do a show,
- 7:47Speaker 1: or fifteen grand or ten grand, and I'll do a
- 7:49Speaker 1: segment that you guys can then echo that sounds genuine
- 7:52Speaker 1: and authentic of me saying this politician and what he's
- 7:55Speaker 1: doing right now is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
- 7:58Speaker 2: I could do that, and I can make a lot
- 8:00Speaker 2: more money.
- 8:01Speaker 1: In fact, I know different podcasters that are making millions
- 8:05Speaker 1: of dollars doing pay to play fake segments about things
- 8:11Speaker 1: they actually don't care about, are people they don't really
- 8:13Speaker 1: care about, just to get that money, just to get
- 8:16Speaker 1: that cash. And so I say that to give you
- 8:19Speaker 1: a warning over when you see things like the Mike
- 8:22Speaker 1: Johnson anger, and you see they're like, oh, well, he
- 8:26Speaker 1: deserves to not be the speaker anymore. Be careful not
- 8:29Speaker 1: to be taken advantage of now. The other reason why
- 8:32Speaker 1: I bring this up is because here's the story in
- 8:33Speaker 1: the headline. Donald Trump has come out and endorses Mike
- 8:38Speaker 1: Johnson amid the fight for his gavel. And I think
- 8:43Speaker 1: this is the right decision for Donald Trump because he
- 8:45Speaker 1: understands exactly what I told you a second ago, which
- 8:49Speaker 1: is Mike Johnson is a good man. Mike Johnson is
- 8:52Speaker 1: a sincere Christian man, and Mike Johnson is the most
- 8:55Speaker 1: conservative speaker. I think we could get elected right now,
- 8:58Speaker 1: and we don't need to go through another fight and
- 9:00Speaker 1: look like we are in total chaos and anarchy the
- 9:03Speaker 1: day we take over. Mike Johnson's gonna work not just average,
- 9:07Speaker 1: but he's gonna work very well with Donald Trump. And
- 9:11Speaker 1: that is exactly why President elect Trump endorsed Speaker Johnson
- 9:15Speaker 1: Monday morning, after leaving Johnson twisting of the wind as
- 9:19Speaker 1: some described the media for eleven days, Trump posted a
- 9:23Speaker 1: two hundred and thirty two word soliloquy on True Social
- 9:27Speaker 1: touting his electoral romp and attacking Democrats for weaponize the
- 9:31Speaker 1: government against him. At the very end, he endorsed Johnson
- 9:36Speaker 1: for Speaker using this language. Let's not all caps, Let's
- 9:42Speaker 1: not blown this great opportunity which we have been given
- 9:46Speaker 1: the American people. All caps need immediate relief from all
- 9:51Speaker 1: the destructive policies of the last administration. Speaker Johnson is
- 9:55Speaker 1: a good, hard working religious man. He will do the
- 10:00Speaker 1: right thing and we will continue to all caps win.
- 10:04Speaker 1: He has my complete and total endorsement. And then he
- 10:08Speaker 1: said all caps maga with three exclamation points. Let me
- 10:12Speaker 1: explain to you what many of these people wanted to
- 10:16Speaker 1: sell you, and many of them were paid for and
- 10:18Speaker 1: bought when they were trying to attack Speaker Johnson, quote
- 10:24Speaker 1: from one article. Johnson was left twisting in the win
- 10:28Speaker 1: after December the nineteenth, when Johnson failed to deliver on
- 10:31Speaker 1: Trump's desire to lift the dead ceiling as part of
- 10:33Speaker 1: a government spinning deal. Reports that Trump fumed from mar Lago,
- 10:38Speaker 1: coupled with Trump's silence as criticism against Johnson rose, cast
- 10:42Speaker 1: doubts on Trump's commitment to Johnson. Again, I think a
- 10:46Speaker 1: lot of this was just a whole bunch of made
- 10:47Speaker 1: up crap. Okay, And if I'm wrong here, then I
- 10:51Speaker 1: don't think Donald Trump would have put out the statement
- 10:52Speaker 1: that he said saying that Johnson has his full and
- 10:55Speaker 1: total support. Trump's endorsement is likely the only thing that
- 10:59Speaker 1: could save Johnson. The article goes on to say Representative
- 11:03Speaker 1: Thomas Massey, a Republican from Kentucky, had pledged not to
- 11:07Speaker 1: vote for Johnson, who could only lose one additional vote
- 11:11Speaker 1: on the House floor and keep his gavel. So the
- 11:15Speaker 1: question is, could you get someone better than Speaker Johnson?
- 11:18Speaker 2: The answer is no, I do not believe.
- 11:20Speaker 1: I also don't like that everybody that becomes a speaker
- 11:24Speaker 1: right now is being held hostage by any one person
- 11:28Speaker 1: that's disgruntled or or wants to use their leverage to
- 11:31Speaker 1: get themselves either a bigger position a better committee seat.
- 11:37Speaker 2: This is total.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Anarchy in the House right now on the Republican side.
- 11:41Speaker 1: And I'll say this, we need to take a play
- 11:44Speaker 1: out of the Democrats playbook, which is to unite and
- 11:47Speaker 1: to act like we have a thirty person majority and
- 11:50Speaker 1: not have people coming in there, for example like Thomas Massey,
- 11:54Speaker 1: who out of nowhere have this incredible amount of power
- 11:57Speaker 1: and also outside influence Okay, that is coming in from
- 12:02Speaker 1: God knows who to decide to do this. Plus we're
- 12:05Speaker 1: talking about him. Some of this is just about someone
- 12:08Speaker 1: becoming famous. Representative Thomas Massey pledging not to vote for
- 12:13Speaker 1: Johnson only helps the Democratic Party, It only helps there
- 12:18Speaker 1: be chaos. It only helps the left. It does not
- 12:21Speaker 1: help conservatives. It does not help maga's agenda. It does
- 12:24Speaker 1: not help Donald Trump, It does not help the Senate.
- 12:27Speaker 1: It doesn't help any of us that are actually caring
- 12:30Speaker 1: about reducing the size of government, lowering government regulations, getting
- 12:36Speaker 1: rid of high taxes, and getting rid of just total leftist.
- 12:41Speaker 2: Woke agenda items. So I'll go back to what I said.
- 12:45Speaker 1: I think this is exactly the reason why Donald Trump
- 12:47Speaker 1: came out and said I am endorsing him.
- 12:50Speaker 2: He is my guy.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Now, other Republicans who occasionally have buck Trump before, including
- 12:57Speaker 1: on the December nineteenth vote to fund the government and
- 13:00Speaker 1: raise the debt ceiling, have indicated they have quote displeasure
- 13:04Speaker 1: with Johnson. Again, there's a problem with some of these
- 13:09Speaker 1: individuals who don't realize that it's not always a speaker
- 13:12Speaker 1: you want, it's getting the best speaker that you can
- 13:15Speaker 1: get with a slim majority. Now, in theory, if all
- 13:19Speaker 1: the Republicans would stick together, we could have gotten even
- 13:22Speaker 1: more of a maybe conservative person. The problem is you
- 13:25Speaker 1: don't have a hardcore group of conservatives. You have some
- 13:28Speaker 1: moderates that ran as Republicans, you have some establishment Republicans,
- 13:33Speaker 1: you have some rhinos. And when you have a slim
- 13:36Speaker 1: majority where you can only lose two votes total, you
- 13:40Speaker 1: got to look at Okay, not is this the perfect candidate.
- 13:44Speaker 1: The question is is this the best candidate can get
- 13:47Speaker 1: the votes needed now? Speaker Johnson putting out this tweet
- 13:52Speaker 1: on x quote, thank you, President Trump.
- 13:54Speaker 2: I'm honored and humbled by your support.
- 13:56Speaker 1: As always, together, we will quickly deliver on you'r a
- 13:59Speaker 1: mayor first agenda and usher in the new Golden Age
- 14:04Speaker 1: of America. The American people demand and deserve that we
- 14:08Speaker 1: waste no time. Let's get to work, and that's what.
- 14:12Speaker 2: This is all about.
- 14:13Speaker 1: This is all about getting to work and making sure
- 14:17Speaker 1: that the vote on January the third is a roll
- 14:20Speaker 1: call vote. The House must select a speaker in order
- 14:22Speaker 1: to certify the election on January the sixth, and we
- 14:25Speaker 1: do not need to have some stupid fight breakout all
- 14:28Speaker 1: because there are people that are a being paid to
- 14:31Speaker 1: tweet certain things, all right, And I think that's really important, Okay,
- 14:36Speaker 1: I mean it's it's so frustrating because I'm not gonna
- 14:41Speaker 1: sit here and I don't want to name names.
- 14:43Speaker 2: I want to be clear. I'm not trying to do that.
- 14:46Speaker 1: But I want you to understand that there are people
- 14:49Speaker 1: out there that have gained a conservative following and now
- 14:53Speaker 1: they're willing to sell out to say just about anything
- 14:57Speaker 1: as long as it's close to being on brand, including
- 15:01Speaker 1: starting wars within the conservative movement, just so they.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Can make more money.
- 15:06Speaker 1: And there are a lot of big, big names in
- 15:10Speaker 1: social media, and I tell you look at their tweets
- 15:14Speaker 1: and then look at other people in their same sphere
- 15:17Speaker 1: and if you notice a trend, and a great example
- 15:20Speaker 1: is what we saw with chip Roy this last week.
- 15:22Speaker 1: If you notice a trend of kind of the same
- 15:25Speaker 1: group of quote MAGA influencers tweeting out the same messaging,
- 15:31Speaker 1: there's a very good chance that they're bought and paid for.
- 15:35Speaker 1: It may not even be what they believe at all,
- 15:38Speaker 1: it is that they are bought and that they are
- 15:42Speaker 1: paid for by all of these different people that are
- 15:45Speaker 1: wanting to influence Washington. There are some people, by the
- 15:48Speaker 1: way that one influence over Speaker Johnson and having this
- 15:52Speaker 1: fight is a way for them to kind of remind
- 15:55Speaker 1: them like, hey, don't screw with us, you better listen
- 15:57Speaker 1: to us, right, And how do they buy that in
- 16:00Speaker 1: on it's over Johnson, Well, you start making it look
- 16:03Speaker 1: like he's going to lose his job, you start paying
- 16:05Speaker 1: people to tweet out things, and then Speaker Johnson is
- 16:08Speaker 1: in a bad spot, and that's exactly what they want
- 16:11Speaker 1: for their leverage. So the next time they walk into
- 16:13Speaker 1: Speaker Johnson and they're like, hey, buddy, how are you
- 16:16Speaker 1: we need this? You think Speaker Johnson's going to be
- 16:18Speaker 1: more likely or less likely to listen to them? I
- 16:20Speaker 1: think you can all agree it's pretty clear they're going
- 16:22Speaker 1: to be He's going to be more likely to listen
- 16:24Speaker 1: to them. And this is unfortunately what is happening by
- 16:27Speaker 1: some in the MAGA world, all right, who are out
- 16:30Speaker 1: there and they are four hired political assassins and they
- 16:35Speaker 1: make money doing it, not because they believe it, because
- 16:38Speaker 1: they're just making money actually doing it. Let me also
- 16:42Speaker 1: just put it in perspective what actually matters. Right now,
- 16:45Speaker 1: I'll give you a great example of a breaking news
- 16:47Speaker 1: story right now, Washington DC US attorney Matthew Graves. You
- 16:52Speaker 1: may not remember that name, Matthew Graves, but it's a
- 16:54Speaker 1: very important name. Matthew Graves was the main prosecutor on
- 17:00Speaker 1: January the sixth cases. This is the guy that went
- 17:03Speaker 1: around the world, or at least I say the US,
- 17:07Speaker 1: to round up grandmothers and grandfathers, round them up to
- 17:12Speaker 1: put them in jail, saying that they were trying to
- 17:15Speaker 1: overthrow the government. Because they were in and around the Capitol.
- 17:19Speaker 1: They walked in peacefully. They doors are let open in
- 17:21Speaker 1: some cases by actual policemen. They didn't wreck anything, they
- 17:25Speaker 1: didn't steal anything, they didn't do anything at all.
- 17:27Speaker 2: This is a guy who.
- 17:30Speaker 1: Has now reportedly resigned ahead of Donald Trump taking office.
- 17:34Speaker 1: These are the stories that we need to be focused on.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Why do you resign because he knows he abused his power.
- 17:42Speaker 1: And look, I think this guy's going to try to
- 17:45Speaker 1: go make a bunch of money. He's going to try
- 17:46Speaker 1: to go to the to the you know, to the
- 17:48Speaker 1: other side and work at some big law firm.
- 17:51Speaker 2: These are the cases that I care about.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I'll give you another example of how what we should
- 17:55Speaker 1: be focused on right now. CBS News reporter is finally
- 17:59Speaker 1: admitted that Biden's quote obvious cognitive decline is the quote
- 18:06Speaker 1: most underreported twenty twenty four story. So I don't want
- 18:11Speaker 1: to be arguing over Speaker Johnson. Speaker Johnson has my
- 18:15Speaker 1: full support. I want to be clear about that. Speaker
- 18:19Speaker 1: Johnson has my full support. What I do care about
- 18:24Speaker 1: is holding the media accountable and the left accountable for
- 18:27Speaker 1: their abuse of power. President Joe Biden's qute obvious cognitive
- 18:30Speaker 1: decline was the most underreported story of twenty twenty four.
- 18:33Speaker 1: That is with the CBS News reporter Jan Crawford claimed
- 18:36Speaker 1: on Sunday, conceding that there was massive cognitive decline. Mental
- 18:41Speaker 1: acuity appeared obvious to all but members of the corporate media,
- 18:45Speaker 1: whose very job it was to cover the White House
- 18:48Speaker 1: and its occupant. Crawford, the network's chief legal correspondent, state
- 18:54Speaker 1: of the nature of the entire twenty twenty four election
- 18:56Speaker 1: could have been reshaped if by Yden's mental fitness had
- 19:01Speaker 1: been addressed earlier in the election cycle by the Washington
- 19:03Speaker 1: Press corps. In the end, then it would have changed
- 19:07Speaker 1: how they decided to have a primary and to actually
- 19:11Speaker 1: have a grand debate and maybe they wouldn't have been
- 19:13Speaker 1: stuck with Kamala Harris.
- 19:16Speaker 2: Let that also sink in for a second.
- 19:19Speaker 1: It is truly incredible to me that we are even
- 19:22Speaker 1: having the conversation right now about Speaker Johnson. We shouldn't
- 19:27Speaker 1: be having this conversation about Speaker Johnson. And every time
- 19:32Speaker 1: they have a war start out within the MAGA community,
- 19:35Speaker 1: just remember the Democratic Party.
- 19:37Speaker 2: They're winning. This is their plan.
- 19:40Speaker 1: They want there to be divisiveness, they want there to
- 19:42Speaker 1: be chatter, they want there to be anger, they want
- 19:46Speaker 1: there to be a fight between other Republicans. So we
- 19:50Speaker 1: better focus in and get it together, folks, or they will.
- 19:53Speaker 2: End up winning many wars that we should win.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Now, there's this part of this that I want you
- 19:59Speaker 1: to know about that is becoming an issue as well.
- 20:02Speaker 1: There are many that are hoping that Donald Trump will
- 20:05Speaker 1: come in and that there will be a big fight
- 20:08Speaker 1: and they will get rid of Speaker Johnson, and that
- 20:10Speaker 1: there will be chaos within the Republican Party. I'm going
- 20:13Speaker 1: to say what I said earlier. I'm going to warn
- 20:15Speaker 1: you about this right now. Speaker Johnson at this point
- 20:18Speaker 1: is clearly the most conservative speaker that we could get
- 20:21Speaker 1: and if we get rid of Speaker Johnson, I'm telling
- 20:24Speaker 1: you right now, we're going to get a much more
- 20:26Speaker 1: liberal speaker. That is why Democrats are pushing for this. Okay,
- 20:31Speaker 1: I'll give you an example of how they're starting to
- 20:33Speaker 1: bring this into an issue On ABC this week. What
- 20:36Speaker 1: did they say about Speaker Johnson? What they said was, well,
- 20:40Speaker 1: he's in real trouble and they're wanting this to be
- 20:43Speaker 1: the story going into January. Listen carefully join now by
- 20:47Speaker 1: ABC News contributing political correspondent and Political.
- 20:50Speaker 3: Capital Bureau chief Rachel Bade.
- 20:53Speaker 1: So, Rachel, why did so many Republicans defy Trump?
- 20:58Speaker 3: Well, you know, John, in a lot of ways, I
- 20:59Speaker 3: think I feel like President Trump was sort of asking
- 21:01Speaker 3: for the impossible in this situation. I mean, there's been
- 21:04Speaker 3: a lot of hot takes out there that he in
- 21:06Speaker 3: some way has lost his juice with Republicans or his
- 21:08Speaker 3: sway with the party. I don't buy that, and I'll
- 21:11Speaker 3: tell you why. I mean, if you look at debt
- 21:14Speaker 3: ceiling votes, historically, this is a toxic vote for Republicans,
- 21:17Speaker 3: especially when you're trying to raise the debt ceiling without
- 21:19Speaker 3: corresponding spending cuts or really any spending cuts whatsoever. And
- 21:23Speaker 3: I went back and looked at a lot of the
- 21:25Speaker 3: votes on the debt ceiling in past years, even when
- 21:27Speaker 3: President Trump was president before, and way more Republicans opposed it.
- 21:31Speaker 3: I'm talking about in the hundreds up to two hundred
- 21:33Speaker 3: at one point, and so I'm surprised that only thirty
- 21:35Speaker 3: eight Republicans actually opposed this. The bigger issue, in my view,
- 21:39Speaker 3: is this sheer breakdown in communication between President Trump and
- 21:42Speaker 3: Speaker Johnson here, I mean President Trump.
- 21:45Speaker 1: By the way, you notice how all this is doom
- 21:46Speaker 1: and gloom, Like are you hearing this? We cut fifteen
- 21:50Speaker 1: hundred pages of government waste and they're saying it's doom
- 21:54Speaker 1: and gloom. We cut a bill with transparency because of
- 21:59Speaker 1: the end into Donald Trump and Elon Musk and X
- 22:03Speaker 1: and putting it out there, having transparency for the people,
- 22:07Speaker 1: and they're telling you it's doom and gloom. I want
- 22:09Speaker 1: you to understand that what happened to Donald Trump in
- 22:12Speaker 1: twenty sixteen is exactly the way the media is wanting
- 22:15Speaker 1: twenty twenty four to go. He's lost his juice, he's
- 22:20Speaker 1: he's already in trouble. Things are. This is a disaster
- 22:24Speaker 1: for Republicans. They're already fighting. I can't believe that in
- 22:28Speaker 1: cut government spending. I can't believe that they were in
- 22:31Speaker 1: this situation. Donald Trump had an unrealistic expectation for Republicans,
- 22:38Speaker 1: all of.
- 22:39Speaker 2: This doom and gloom.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Even in a successful vote that cut a bill by
- 22:45Speaker 1: fifteen hundred pages, eighty something percent of the pages disappeared
- 22:50Speaker 1: because of transparency. And somehow they start every single Sunday
- 22:54Speaker 1: morning talk show saying the same damn thing. Wow, Donald
- 22:58Speaker 1: Trump may have lost his juice. Donald Trump got screwed
- 23:01Speaker 1: by Republicans. The Speaker of the House is going to
- 23:04Speaker 1: lose everything. Oh, look how bad things are. Woe is me?
- 23:07Speaker 1: Look how terrible things are. Look how awful things are.
- 23:10Speaker 1: One after another, after another, after another after another. Doom
- 23:14Speaker 1: and gloom, doom and gloom, doom and gloom, doom and gloom,
- 23:16Speaker 1: doom and gloom. It's constant with these people, it is constant.
- 23:21Speaker 1: And so what I would say is, when you hear this,
- 23:24Speaker 1: look at the reality of the situation. Was this a
- 23:27Speaker 1: success this week? Yes, what I've loved for the debt
- 23:29Speaker 1: cealing have been raised. Yes, But I'm also realist and
- 23:31Speaker 1: I know that the Democrats have controled the Senate and
- 23:33Speaker 1: they weren't going to vote for that, and then there
- 23:35Speaker 1: would have been a government shutdown, and it wasn't gonna
- 23:37Speaker 1: hurt Joe Biden because he's already out of office, and
- 23:40Speaker 1: then Donald Trump could have inherited a government that was
- 23:42Speaker 1: shut down. Listen to ABC This Week where they say,
- 23:45Speaker 1: and then this war between Speaker Johnson Donald Trump.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Oh, it's really bad, folks.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Hellan Johnson. He wanted him to do this right after
- 23:52Speaker 3: the election. That they've been talking about this for a
- 23:54Speaker 3: long time. Johnson's folks have been sort of under the
- 23:57Speaker 3: impression that this wasn't a big priority for President Trump
- 23:59Speaker 3: until two days before the deadline when he came up
- 24:02Speaker 3: and sort of blew up the deal. Also, President Trump
- 24:04Speaker 3: was under the impression that when he did add the
- 24:06Speaker 3: debt ceiling to the CR the Continuing Resolution, that it
- 24:09Speaker 3: was actually going to pass, and that's why he sort
- 24:11Speaker 3: of leaned in and tried to sort of say, look, Republicans,
- 24:13Speaker 3: you need to do this. If he had known he
- 24:15Speaker 3: was going to lose thirty eight Republicans, he wouldn't have
- 24:17Speaker 3: done this. And so the relationship right now, I mean
- 24:20Speaker 3: They've got some work to do if they want to
- 24:21Speaker 3: be effective next year.
- 24:22Speaker 1: Johnson, They've got some work to do, folks. I don't believe,
- 24:27Speaker 1: by the way, any of the craps you just said.
- 24:29Speaker 1: I think Donald Trump leaned in to cut fifteen hundred
- 24:33Speaker 1: pages of a sixteen hundred plus page bill, and that's
- 24:37Speaker 1: what he leaned in on. Did he get everything he
- 24:38Speaker 1: wanted to know? Our Democrats in control of the Senate? Yes,
- 24:42Speaker 1: is there a slim majority in the House?
- 24:43Speaker 2: Yes?
- 24:44Speaker 1: Was this going to be tough to do right before
- 24:46Speaker 1: people are leaving and many people are leaving Congress forever
- 24:48Speaker 1: that lost reelection because they're one to stick it to
- 24:50Speaker 1: Donald Trump, including some Republicans at loss.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Yes. Do I believe in this doom and gloom the
- 24:56Speaker 2: way that they're talking about it? I do not.
- 24:59Speaker 1: I do not at all. And then listen to this
- 25:01Speaker 1: part where I are, well, now we got it. We
- 25:03Speaker 1: got a problem with Speaker Johnson.
- 25:05Speaker 3: But Speaker getywhere there it's the million dollar question right now,
- 25:09Speaker 3: john I will say people have underestimated Johnson quite a
- 25:12Speaker 3: bit in the past year, and oftentimes he's sort of,
- 25:14Speaker 3: you know, out last his naysayers here. But the situation
- 25:18Speaker 3: is different. I mean, I've talked to a lot of
- 25:19Speaker 3: Trump folks over the past couple of days, and Trump
- 25:22Speaker 3: has really soured on him. It feels like something in
- 25:24Speaker 3: this relationship has really broken the days it needs Trump
- 25:28Speaker 3: to get reelected. Absolutely he needs Trump, and not only
- 25:31Speaker 3: does he need Trump's endorsement, He's going to need President
- 25:34Speaker 3: Trump to lean in to actually get that gavel. And
- 25:37Speaker 3: right now I'm hearing from people that there's a real
- 25:39Speaker 3: question about whether Trump's going to lift a finger for
- 25:42Speaker 3: him to do this. I think the question Trump has
- 25:44Speaker 3: to ask himself is is ousting Johnson worth potentially upending
- 25:48Speaker 3: his agenda at the beginning of the year and creating
- 25:51Speaker 3: this sort of stall in momentum. I mean, look, we
- 25:54Speaker 3: remember the speakership chaos when McCarthy's. A whole month went
- 25:59Speaker 3: by and we had no idea who was leaving the conference.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Right now, this speakership vote is set for January third.
- 26:05Speaker 3: President Trump, his victory is set to be certified on
- 26:07Speaker 3: January sixth. I was talking to someone last night, pretty
- 26:10Speaker 3: high up and Republican on the Hill, who was saying
- 26:12Speaker 3: that without a speaker you can't certify his election, So
- 26:16Speaker 3: does he really want to do this. Does he want
- 26:17Speaker 3: to stall his agenda, but perhaps he feels like it's
- 26:20Speaker 3: worth it. I guess time will tell, all right, Rachel bag.
- 26:23Speaker 1: By the way, I want to tell you multiple reasons
- 26:26Speaker 1: why I disagree with the analysis that I just played
- 26:28Speaker 1: for you. I don't believe that their rift is anything
- 26:32Speaker 1: close to what they're trying to do on TV, which
- 26:34Speaker 1: is to trying to start a civil war. I believe
- 26:37Speaker 1: that Speaker Johnson and Donald Trump have a good working relationship.
- 26:43Speaker 1: They have done multiple events together recently. He's been down
- 26:46Speaker 1: at mar Lago recently. Multiple times. They had multiple events
- 26:51Speaker 1: together on the campaign trail. They helped raise money to
- 26:54Speaker 1: get others elected, Republicans elected, and they worked really well.
- 26:58Speaker 1: Getting Donald Trump into tight race is to make sure
- 27:01Speaker 1: that they were able to win a Senate majority, as
- 27:04Speaker 1: thin as it may be. A House majority, I should say,
- 27:07Speaker 1: as sin as it may be. I don't believe this
- 27:11Speaker 1: idea that Speaker Johnson is in serious trouble. In fact,
- 27:15Speaker 1: I would argue that Donald Trump is smart enough right
- 27:17Speaker 1: now to say, hey, I need to move forward with
- 27:20Speaker 1: an agenda with a conservative, and Speaker Johnson is the
- 27:24Speaker 1: best conservative that could get elected right now. What they're
- 27:28Speaker 1: hoping is that this is a party in chaos. But
- 27:33Speaker 1: remember this is all about doom and gloom, and I'm
- 27:36Speaker 1: warning you the propaganda is full speed ahead right now.
- 27:41Speaker 1: We have a Speaker who had a very tight majority
- 27:44Speaker 1: and got a deal done to avert a government shutdown,
- 27:47Speaker 1: which they would have definitely blamed on Donald Trump. That
- 27:51Speaker 1: didn't happen either. We have a debt ceiling vote that's
- 27:54Speaker 1: going to come up, no doubt about it. But the
- 27:57Speaker 1: reality is they've got now time to think about how
- 27:59Speaker 1: they're going to do it, and how they're gonna do
- 28:01Speaker 1: it in the best way possible. I will go back
- 28:05Speaker 1: to what I said at the beginning. I don't believe
- 28:07Speaker 1: that Speaker Johnson has a massive sourd relationship with Donald
- 28:11Speaker 1: Trump right now. I think that's a media telling a lie.
- 28:13Speaker 1: I wanted to start a civil war. You need to
- 28:16Speaker 1: remember they lie to you on purpose for a reason.
- 28:19Speaker 1: They lie to you on purpose because they want you
- 28:21Speaker 1: to hate Trump, and they want you to hate Speaker Johnson,
- 28:24Speaker 1: and they want you to think they can't govern, and
- 28:26Speaker 1: they want you to be angry.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Don't take the bait.
- 28:31Speaker 1: I hope every one of you will share this podcast
- 28:33Speaker 1: wherever you can.
- 28:35Speaker 2: Please write us a five story review.
- 28:36Speaker 1: It helps us reach new listeners and get the word
- 28:39Speaker 1: out of what we do here every day.
