- 1:43Speaker 1: got to turn out to turn the water the water. Come,
- 1:58Speaker 1: come on your back at it, uh, I show will
- 2:03Speaker 1: a good morning everybody. You're listening to the voice, Come
- 2:06Speaker 1: on dig me now, one and only Steve Harvey got
- 2:10Speaker 1: a radio show, man on man on man. I just
- 2:16Speaker 1: I have to tell you this. How good is the
- 2:22Speaker 1: god I served? How amazing is he here? It is?
- 2:33Speaker 1: It is your determination and your effort. Listen to me carefully.
- 2:40Speaker 1: It is your determination and your effort. I think that
- 2:46Speaker 1: the average person, and I'm not knocking you, I just
- 2:49Speaker 1: want you to hear me out. I think what stops
- 2:52Speaker 1: the average person from becoming successful is that we don't
- 2:56Speaker 1: realize the effort that it takes. And that's just truth.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I found that to be so true in my life
- 3:05Speaker 1: and my talking to people and meeting people, and people
- 3:08Speaker 1: aren't asking me questions about it, and me trying to
- 3:10Speaker 1: figure out the way myself. I don't think that you
- 3:15Speaker 1: really can comprehend the effort that it takes to become successful.
- 3:21Speaker 1: This is the thing that you have to wrap your
- 3:23Speaker 1: mind around very quickly if you want to be successful
- 3:27Speaker 1: on any level, in any area. The dream is the beginning.
- 3:32Speaker 1: Good Lord, let me tell you something. The determination and
- 3:35Speaker 1: effort is massive. You cannot be overly concerned with sleep.
- 3:44Speaker 1: If you are a person who is always concerned about sleep,
- 3:48Speaker 1: get success out your mind. A fit to happen, partner
- 3:51Speaker 1: is not fit to happen. You cannot be that concerned
- 3:55Speaker 1: about sleep. Now, listen to me. You have to get
- 3:59Speaker 1: your rest. But this was my philosophy. I'm just sharing
- 4:03Speaker 1: you with how I did it. My philosophy was I
- 4:09Speaker 1: stopped being concerned about sleep. I got my rest, but
- 4:14Speaker 1: I got just enough to get back to it, and
- 4:19Speaker 1: I got back on the grind to hop into hustle.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I got just enough rest so I could go and
- 4:26Speaker 1: put forth some more effort. But listen to me, you
- 4:30Speaker 1: cannot sleep a third of your life away and expect
- 4:34Speaker 1: to become successful if you're not already successful. If you
- 4:38Speaker 1: are asleep for eight hours. That is a third of
- 4:40Speaker 1: your day. You cannot be asleep a third of your
- 4:44Speaker 1: life and expect to get successful. Not after you get successful.
- 4:49Speaker 1: You know, you learn as you go to work smarter,
- 4:53Speaker 1: not harder. So as you get successful, you may have
- 4:57Speaker 1: eight hours available to you. But on the way up there,
- 5:00Speaker 1: I don't see how you can do it, I promise you.
- 5:02Speaker 1: I don't. Now I don't. Maybe somebody can come forward.
- 5:04Speaker 1: I did it out. Yeah, probably lying, But okay, tell
- 5:08Speaker 1: your story because everybody I know that's successful that I've
- 5:14Speaker 1: sat down a head real talks with they wasn't concerned
- 5:17Speaker 1: with sleeping. You cannot be concerned with sleeping if you
- 5:23Speaker 1: want to be successful. How how can this happen for you?
- 5:27Speaker 1: It listened to me. The effort that it requires is massive.
- 5:30Speaker 1: It's an all out of salt on your dream. Now
- 5:33Speaker 1: you got to make an assault. It's requires and all
- 5:37Speaker 1: out of salt on it. And you can't be sleeping.
- 5:40Speaker 1: Fight at the same time. You can't fight when you sleep. Man.
- 5:43Speaker 1: I wish I could get y'all understand this right. Ill
- 5:47Speaker 1: understand that the effort that is required to be successful
- 5:50Speaker 1: will take everything you have and when you think you've
- 5:54Speaker 1: given your all, it's gonna require some more. The quality
- 5:59Speaker 1: of your chill is amazing. See that's okay. Listen, what
- 6:04Speaker 1: is sitting around having a bill every day? Fault? What? What?
- 6:08Speaker 1: What they're sitting around smoking weed for every day? Fault?
- 6:11Speaker 1: Come on, man, for real, But if you took that beer,
- 6:16Speaker 1: drinking weed smoking chill time and apply it to progressing
- 6:20Speaker 1: yourself towards your dream. When you do carve out a vacation,
- 6:26Speaker 1: guess where you be able to go. Guess what part
- 6:29Speaker 1: of the world you can go? See, guess how you
- 6:31Speaker 1: can chill Now, I'm instead of you just driving Every
- 6:34Speaker 1: year your family to the family union, sit at the
- 6:36Speaker 1: same picnic table. Everybody pull their money in. Two ten
- 6:40Speaker 1: families don't never pull they money in. They down there
- 6:43Speaker 1: eating like y'all eating. You got attitude because the day
- 6:46Speaker 1: or they side don't ever chip in, and no they
- 6:49Speaker 1: down they eating the extra potatoes, are making place. You're
- 6:51Speaker 1: not not arguing about this every year for real? Man,
- 6:54Speaker 1: they ain't got the T shirt money. You know they
- 6:57Speaker 1: got to say a T shirt, don't They ain't put
- 6:59Speaker 1: it in? Really, man, so so so so so you
- 7:03Speaker 1: want that to be it? Every year or do you
- 7:06Speaker 1: want this year, I'm taking my family to New Orleans.
- 7:10Speaker 1: Or I'm taking my family see the Grand Canyon. I'm
- 7:13Speaker 1: taking my family down to the beach this year, and
- 7:15Speaker 1: me and my family gonna go sight See. We're gonna
- 7:18Speaker 1: go ride Coup the River on Chicago. Me and my
- 7:21Speaker 1: family gonna go skiing this year. Me and me and
- 7:23Speaker 1: my family going out to La Man, we're gonna we're
- 7:25Speaker 1: gonna go out there for a weekend. You know, you
- 7:27Speaker 1: know it can happen like that. But if you ain't working,
- 7:30Speaker 1: listen to me. Average effort gets average results. See. Ordinary
- 7:41Speaker 1: effort gets ordinary results. But if you put forth an
- 7:47Speaker 1: extra effort. See, the only difference between extraordinary and ordinary
- 7:52Speaker 1: is one word, that's extra. If you do extra, you
- 7:56Speaker 1: can take ordinary right on over to extraordinary. Do you
- 8:00Speaker 1: understand you have to have a massive assault on your dreams.
- 8:04Speaker 1: Quit sitting up in here, man, trying to chill all
- 8:06Speaker 1: the time. I'm sorry, man, I wish I could tell
- 8:08Speaker 1: you another way, but it ain't one. I didn't talk
- 8:11Speaker 1: to jay Z about this. I wouldn't talk Samuel all
- 8:14Speaker 1: about this. I didn't talked to said about this. I
- 8:16Speaker 1: didn't talk I have talked to the President of the
- 8:19Speaker 1: United States. I've had a conversation with him about his effort.
- 8:24Speaker 1: You look at this. You cannot become successful with our effort.
- 8:28Speaker 1: You cannot be concerned about sleep. Here's what I did. Now.
- 8:36Speaker 1: You can take it from me, or you can try
- 8:37Speaker 1: it your way. But when you get through trying it,
- 8:39Speaker 1: this is what you're gonna have to do. I wasn't
- 8:42Speaker 1: concerned about how much sleep I got. I just had
- 8:45Speaker 1: to get my rest. And once I got enough rest
- 8:49Speaker 1: to get up and get the task done, I got up.
- 8:53Speaker 1: Somebody sent me a tweet the other day, a partner
- 8:58Speaker 1: of mine. He's someone to see if I can pull
- 9:01Speaker 1: it up while I'm talking to you. But he just
- 9:03Speaker 1: sent me a little sign, just what, nothing, just a
- 9:05Speaker 1: little something to say, Hey man, I ran across this,
- 9:08Speaker 1: I thought about you, and I sent it to you.
- 9:11Speaker 1: It said, no alarm clock needed, My passion wakes me.
- 9:18Speaker 1: He said, no alarm clock needed, my passion wakes me.
- 9:24Speaker 1: That's what you got to be about. You gotta take
- 9:27Speaker 1: that dream. You gotta get passionate about it, and you
- 9:30Speaker 1: got to get awake, and you got to get up
- 9:32Speaker 1: and get at it, and you gotta put it forth
- 9:34Speaker 1: a massive assault on your dream. Your effort has got
- 9:37Speaker 1: to be extraordinary. If you put forth extraordinary. If you
- 9:40Speaker 1: put forth extra effort, you go from ordinary to extraordinary.
- 9:45Speaker 1: That's the deal. You think it's another way, If you
- 9:48Speaker 1: got another way, could you please email it to me,
- 9:50Speaker 1: Steve Harvey doctor, let me know so I can slow down.
- 9:53Speaker 1: So I don't know no other way. All right, you're listening,
- 10:02Speaker 1: ladies and gentlemen, the boys and the girls, puppies, kittens,
- 10:09Speaker 1: ma have your attention. Please. We have officially started the

- 10:40Speaker 1: couple of seconds? No, I just ain't want to do

- 11:35Speaker 1: for the Raptors. Yeah, yeah, there's one and one. You know,
- 11:41Speaker 1: you can't beat him without Clay Durant. Come on now,
- 11:46Speaker 1: two stars gone and you still ain't gonna win. Come on, man,
- 11:50Speaker 1: oh meaning because Toronto lost. Yeah, let's at home. Let's
- 11:54Speaker 1: stop this. Lets stop the Rows draws toe off in
- 12:04Speaker 1: Golden State to off. They trying and I appreciate the game,
- 12:09Speaker 1: y'all one at one, but they locked down. Now they
- 12:12Speaker 1: got the harts of champions. It's sad it said they
- 12:15Speaker 1: can't win. They shut Drake down. He was quiet, he's
- 12:20Speaker 1: real quiet. Yeah. Game three tomorrow, huh Wednesday? Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:27Speaker 1: It's a long season, oh it really, but surely we
- 12:30Speaker 1: need it because right out the basketball, whoa, it's a
- 12:34Speaker 1: drought before we got football. Baseball, baseball, baseball until October.
- 12:41Speaker 1: That's right. Don't like baseball. You just can't win this
- 12:50Speaker 1: time for the playoffs and you'll be riding with Tiger
- 12:54Speaker 1: and Serena. They're just trying to ride the s out, man,
- 12:56Speaker 1: Come on, get me through it. What I did you know?
- 13:01Speaker 1: It's just such a hole in the schedule. I don't
- 13:04Speaker 1: I watch baseball when it gets to the playoffs. Yes, yeah, yeah,
- 13:09Speaker 1: I don't care for it. Up, Untidy ain't got no
- 13:11Speaker 1: time watch a hundred and sixty day. All right, Steve,
- 13:14Speaker 1: here's something to make you man, he walks us. Not
- 13:17Speaker 1: this third is buster you by Bud Like, we don't
- 13:22Speaker 1: gotta change on the line over here is gonna trot
- 13:24Speaker 1: out from cinemfield. We gotta change up. They're bringing in
- 13:27Speaker 1: the lefty on the mound warming up, and somebody's over
- 13:31Speaker 1: there just called a pop file. Thank you so much. Well,
- 13:34Speaker 1: we know you're gonna like this. Steve, coming up, asked Steve.
- 13:37Speaker 1: Oh yeah, coming thirty two after the hour this you're
- 13:43Speaker 1: listening to Steve Morning Show. Coming up in an hour,
- 13:48Speaker 1: Kirk Franklin will be our special guests. But right now, Steve,
- 13:51Speaker 1: it's time for your favorite segment. Asked Steve. Here's an
- 13:55Speaker 1: email from Steve Harvey FM. It says, mister Harman, is
- 13:59Speaker 1: this just one question? Yeah, it's what we'll ask you
- 14:03Speaker 1: more We'll ask you more depending on time. Oh yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 1: a listener. You want to hear from our listeners. Yeah,
- 14:15Speaker 1: and this one's a good one, mister Harvey. I need
- 14:17Speaker 1: your advice. I'm twenty three years old, and so is
- 14:20Speaker 1: my best friend. We've been best friends since we were
- 14:23Speaker 1: two years old, and we talk almost every day. Her
- 14:26Speaker 1: birthday was a week ago, and I posted a picture
- 14:29Speaker 1: of the two of us and included a nice long
- 14:31Speaker 1: caption about how much I love her and value our friendship.
- 14:35Speaker 1: She liked the post but didn't comment on it. We
- 14:38Speaker 1: don't live in the same city, so I called her
- 14:41Speaker 1: the next day to see how her birthday was. She
- 14:44Speaker 1: didn't answer. She texted me instead and said that her
- 14:48Speaker 1: real friends called her and didn't just post happy birthday
- 14:52Speaker 1: on Instagram. I thought I was doing a great thing
- 14:55Speaker 1: by showing everyone how special our friendship is. She won't
- 14:59Speaker 1: talk to me. Now, was I wrong? Is this bad
- 15:02Speaker 1: social media etiquette? Well? I don't. I don't know social
- 15:06Speaker 1: media etiquette myself, per se. Obviously she would have preferred
- 15:11Speaker 1: a phone call versus posting. She said, she's twenty three
- 15:16Speaker 1: years old. That's how they do. Yeah, they post everything,
- 15:22Speaker 1: but a phone call would have been nice. She's not
- 15:25Speaker 1: talking to you. I think that we've gotten so accustomed
- 15:30Speaker 1: to this social media thing that that that we think
- 15:32Speaker 1: it replaces conversation, and it doesn't. It just doesn't, and
- 15:38Speaker 1: it's destroying social skills with these young people. They don't
- 15:43Speaker 1: talk to each other anymore. They don't interact nothing. Yeah,
- 15:46Speaker 1: they don't interact. It's just, you know, I just think
- 15:51Speaker 1: that it's you know, that's why it's such a The
- 15:53Speaker 1: divorce rate is what it is, I think, because so
- 15:56Speaker 1: I mean, people are not divorce rate, but people are
- 15:59Speaker 1: not in sustainable relationships anymore because they don't do substainable
- 16:05Speaker 1: things to maintain a relationship. They just don't, you know.
- 16:09Speaker 1: I mean, you text, you tender, you swipe right, you
- 16:13Speaker 1: swipe left, easy, calm, easy go. If you get it easy,
- 16:18Speaker 1: you'll let it go easy. If it's hard to get,
- 16:20Speaker 1: it's harder to let go. And then when they're together,
- 16:24Speaker 1: they're texting. When they're together, they're texting and on their phones,
- 16:28Speaker 1: they're not talking, they're not communicating. How are you gonna
- 16:30Speaker 1: sit right next to somebody in texting? They do it
- 16:32Speaker 1: all the time. They do it all the time all
- 16:35Speaker 1: the time, especially Tasha's generation. These young kids, they do
- 16:41Speaker 1: play dates and then they sit next to each other. Yeah,
- 16:44Speaker 1: and they on the phone and that's their play dates.
- 16:46Speaker 1: But they want to be with right, They don't talk
- 16:48Speaker 1: to each other, don't understand. And the millennials too, millennials too.
- 16:52Speaker 1: That's all they do. They text. They have no social skills.
- 16:55Speaker 1: They don't know how to interact with one another. This
- 16:58Speaker 1: is unless it's on their phone own or their computer
- 17:01Speaker 1: or something. Any other question anybody, Well, Steve Well, I
- 17:07Speaker 1: think her heart was in the right place as a
- 17:09Speaker 1: as a best friend. But anyway, um yeah, I wanted
- 17:12Speaker 1: to ask you what is going on with this election
- 17:17Speaker 1: process here? Um uh? I mean you've said this a
- 17:22Speaker 1: number of times on this show, but it's starting to
- 17:25Speaker 1: get kind of serious now. I mean they're gonna have
- 17:27Speaker 1: to the Democrats. I'm talking about we got too many damns.
- 17:31Speaker 1: Twenty three, it's twenty three. Just look, just get the
- 17:35Speaker 1: photo's gonna got a chance. I can tell you who
- 17:38Speaker 1: the hell. Yeah, it's it's not sick. It's farm that
- 17:43Speaker 1: has a real chance. Biden is whooping everybody by a
- 17:46Speaker 1: land slot. So we know we're gonna have Biden. You
- 17:49Speaker 1: gonna have Kamala Harris. Oh, you probably gonna either have
- 17:53Speaker 1: better on rock or the other dude with the strange
- 17:57Speaker 1: Bernie Bernie Bie dying in the rating because polls are
- 18:03Speaker 1: going back. Look man, because they're not letting you have
- 18:07Speaker 1: all that free medical because doctors make money, hospitals make money.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Rich people make money off medicine. You're gonna get all
- 18:14Speaker 1: this free. But they need to concentrate, don't you think
- 18:18Speaker 1: on winning the election. They need to put the folk
- 18:21Speaker 1: people up front. That Scott the shot, that body. Let's
- 18:25Speaker 1: let's listen to me. Stop this here, let's be one
- 18:28Speaker 1: nothing to be president. Y'all quit talking about this people.
- 18:31Speaker 1: They not people. This other dude he not Finn stopped.
- 18:37Speaker 1: I like the dude. I like Corey Book a lot.
- 18:39Speaker 1: They're nothing. Let him be president is another brother. He's
- 18:43Speaker 1: only another brother. Yeah it might be, but yeah, no,
- 18:48Speaker 1: he not to be president. Book. It's so many. We
- 18:50Speaker 1: don't even know who they all are. Ye, not many,
- 18:53Speaker 1: it's so many. Listen to me. If they pitch you
- 18:57Speaker 1: come up on screen and you can't say one of
- 18:59Speaker 1: them name, you can't be wristing. Yeah it's Clover char
- 19:05Speaker 1: still in it, like that Ay shot clob anybody fel
- 19:11Speaker 1: to say that president anybody couldn't get vote for nobody
- 19:17Speaker 1: named clover Shop. We got to go in here and
- 19:19Speaker 1: read his name. But that that sound rushing. Now we
- 19:24Speaker 1: already accused him of stilling in election. Now they're gonna
- 19:26Speaker 1: put somebody in president. Anybody to put Cloba char in. Okay,
- 19:30Speaker 1: big dog yo, give me the two people that should
- 19:33Speaker 1: run together or Kamala and no Biden. That's the team
- 19:39Speaker 1: that will win the presidency. Okay, all right? You think
- 19:43Speaker 1: they could take it from h Trump? Snatch his ass
- 19:46Speaker 1: right up out of here. Trump and Pens, Trump and Pens,
- 19:51Speaker 1: Kamala and Biden. Come on, man, that I like that.
- 19:56Speaker 1: That's the ticket. Is nothing else I think. I think
- 20:00Speaker 1: you've got to have somebody to energize it. And they
- 20:03Speaker 1: would energize to ticket. Stop playing, all right, that's how
- 20:07Speaker 1: you energize the ticket. But they're gonna beat each other
- 20:10Speaker 1: all up in the primaries. Who hate this and who
- 20:12Speaker 1: ain't that? And then they're gonna have some differences, and
- 20:14Speaker 1: then when it's time to pick a running mate, he
- 20:17Speaker 1: gonna go find somebody else. It's gonna be Biden. Man,
- 20:21Speaker 1: he's too far ahead in the polls, it's gonna be
- 20:23Speaker 1: Biden and he should pick Kamela. All right, coming up next,
- 20:26Speaker 1: Thank you, Steve. Coming up next, run that prank back
- 20:29Speaker 1: with the nephew. Right after this you're listening to. Coming
- 20:36Speaker 1: up at the top of the hour and entertainment news,
- 20:39Speaker 1: we'll tell you about the twenty nineteen Standing Self Festival. Yes,
- 20:44Speaker 1: right now, the nephew in the building would run that
- 20:47Speaker 1: prank back. What you got next? Thing? Yeah, I thought
- 20:52Speaker 1: I was gonna get away weighted without him knowing. Oh yeah,
- 20:55Speaker 1: oh yeah, yes, right, here is the day I almost
- 21:02Speaker 1: lost my job. In the day somebody almost got damn.
- 21:09Speaker 1: This is today. I franked my uncle Steve. Run you
- 21:21Speaker 1: ain't too much running? So what did you say? I'm
- 21:26Speaker 1: saying to you right now that he's cunning on everybody
- 21:29Speaker 1: he's checking on. Ain't gonnahing to do with me, man.
- 21:31Speaker 1: That ain't my book. That's his damn book. Put him
- 21:33Speaker 1: on the phone. I'm gonna tell him I ain't always
- 21:36Speaker 1: start of Steve. He ain't writing about you. He toll
- 21:40Speaker 1: on me, hen tall on my boy. He's telling on everybody. Man.
- 21:44Speaker 1: He goes this book. Ain't got nothing to do with you, man. No,
- 21:47Speaker 1: no nobody's book. Dude got something to do with me,
- 21:49Speaker 1: because everything to Steven run if he was growing up
- 21:52Speaker 1: from the hood turning on everybody, and I'm tired of this.
- 21:55Speaker 1: He ought to go somewhere and sit down. Do you
- 21:58Speaker 1: gotta get right with your girl? If he's spooling my girl,

- 33:14Speaker 1: This is a trip with the news today. Well. President
- 33:16Speaker 1: Trump and his family still in London, where they were
- 33:19Speaker 1: given a tour of bucking I Palace yesterday. Later on
- 33:21Speaker 1: they were honored to buy the Queen with a state dinner.
- 33:24Speaker 1: Visits by American presidents always remind us of a close
- 33:28Speaker 1: and longstanding friendship between the United Kingdom and the United States.
- 33:33Speaker 1: This week we commemorate a mighty endeavor of righteous nations
- 33:37Speaker 1: and one of the greatest undertakings in all of history.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Trump was referring to the upcoming seventy fifth anniversary of
- 33:44Speaker 1: D Day, which turned the tide to World War Two.
- 33:46Speaker 1: Outside bucking and Palace, though, things were not so cordial
- 33:49Speaker 1: and calm. There were some Trump supporters out there. They were,
- 33:52Speaker 1: but the overwhelming majari. The protesters were chanting things like hey, hey,
- 33:56Speaker 1: ho ho, Donald Trump has got to go, or simply
- 33:59Speaker 1: this go home, and they promised to be out there.
- 34:05Speaker 1: There are business meetings that the president is to attend
- 34:08Speaker 1: later on this morning, and then the protesters say they're
- 34:11Speaker 1: going to be back off. So offices in Virginia, the
- 34:14Speaker 1: city officers were closed yesterday to honor the memory of
- 34:17Speaker 1: the twelve municipal workers who were shot and killed by
- 34:19Speaker 1: a colleague who had just tendered his resignation. Some officers
- 34:23Speaker 1: are expected to reopen today. However, building too that's where
- 34:26Speaker 1: the massacre occurred, is to be closed indefinitely. They say,
- 34:30Speaker 1: you know, they're looking for clues and everything like that.
- 34:32Speaker 1: The FEDS are involved. Meanwhile, Virginia Beach Mayor Bobby Dwyer
- 34:36Speaker 1: says residents are not saddened, they're defeated. You no, we
- 34:38Speaker 1: can't let this horrible incident define us, because you know
- 34:42Speaker 1: you take a look where people are vulnerable, movie theaters,
- 34:46Speaker 1: malls and everything. Hopefully it's just an unfortunate anomaly and
- 34:52Speaker 1: we're going to go back to being Virginia Beach and
- 34:55Speaker 1: be strong. I don't know anyway. Could it be Karma,
- 34:58Speaker 1: a white West Virginia woman who made headlines three years
- 35:01Speaker 1: ago for her racist post about former First Lady Michelle Obama.
- 35:05Speaker 1: Well lest a woman is heading to prison for embezzling
- 35:08Speaker 1: flood disaster benefits. Pamela Taylor's her name. She's the former
- 35:11Speaker 1: Clay County Development Director. She was sentenced to ten months
- 35:14Speaker 1: in a federal lock up and find she's also sentenced
- 35:17Speaker 1: to home confinement for at least two months after she
- 35:20Speaker 1: gets out. After that, she's also on the supervise release
- 35:23Speaker 1: for three whole years. Pamela Taylor was placed on leave
- 35:27Speaker 1: initially from her county job for years ago after referring
- 35:30Speaker 1: to Missus Obama as an ape in heels. Clay County
- 35:35Speaker 1: Mayor Beverly Whaling agreed and eventually was forced to resign
- 35:38Speaker 1: her job as a mayor. Finally, today is National Hug
- 35:42Speaker 1: your Cat Day. Fluffy, Come on, stop it ouch anyway?

- 37:35Speaker 1: be giving me no, no, no, no kid, yeah, yeah,
- 37:39Speaker 1: I just don't give it. You know, if you don't feel,
- 37:42Speaker 1: if you don't feel like I got them, loose the risk.
- 37:45Speaker 1: If that's not what you're here when you're oh lord,

- 38:11Speaker 1: You ain't stopped, man and Kirk, people don't know it. Man,

- 38:19Speaker 1: dates with these girls when we were uh and we

- 39:46Speaker 1: hits you in the middle of probably dealing with your
- 39:48Speaker 1: family or something important, do you stop what you're doing
- 39:52Speaker 1: to somewhat, you know, file the tune away, or do
- 39:54Speaker 1: you finish doing what you're doing. It's not you know,
- 39:57Speaker 1: stop for a second. And like if I'm sitting at
- 39:59Speaker 1: the table, you know, if we're the restaurant and something
- 40:02Speaker 1: hits me, I would just excuse me all and I'll
- 40:05Speaker 1: just kind of, you know, get my phone down and
- 40:06Speaker 1: just kind of humb the idea, and you know, like
- 40:09Speaker 1: everybody around me, you know, has come to kind of
- 40:12Speaker 1: laugh at it or you know, come to you know,
- 40:14Speaker 1: accept it because I'm picking up the chat, so you know,
- 40:21Speaker 1: so you know, yeah, but but but I don't do
- 40:24Speaker 1: it a lot. It's what I was when my kids
- 40:27Speaker 1: were younger, because I didn't do it around them. I
- 40:30Speaker 1: just had to just trust gods can get it back
- 40:32Speaker 1: to me because I didn't want to interrupt the time
- 40:35Speaker 1: I would be spending with the kids, because you know,
- 40:38Speaker 1: your kids go through so much with your traveling and
- 40:41Speaker 1: being gone. You don't want to, you know, always make
- 40:43Speaker 1: it seem like that you always at worked. So you know,
- 40:46Speaker 1: I started trying to do it all right, tell us
- 40:47Speaker 1: how those albums different any other albums. Well, you know, more,
- 40:51Speaker 1: just more than anything, just the polarization of the world
- 40:54Speaker 1: right now, and just how we're so isolated and separated
- 40:58Speaker 1: and and I just attention between us, the human beings
- 41:01Speaker 1: and heaven it's ever been. You know, there's just a
- 41:03Speaker 1: lack of empathy. And you know, we've become this canceled
- 41:06Speaker 1: in generation where you're quick to cancel people and you're
- 41:10Speaker 1: easier to forget that the same people you cancel you
- 41:14Speaker 1: may need when somebody's trying to cancel you, because at
- 41:17Speaker 1: some point you're gonna make a mistake in your life too.
- 41:20Speaker 1: And so you know, there's just this lack of compassion
- 41:23Speaker 1: for each other. And it's hard to love people that
- 41:26Speaker 1: are not lovable when you're not reminded that you're not
- 41:30Speaker 1: always lovable. And still, the creator of love loves you
- 41:33Speaker 1: inspired that, And so I'm trying to say that you
- 41:36Speaker 1: can't have a general conversation about love without including God,
- 41:40Speaker 1: who is the creator of love. And if God loves
- 41:42Speaker 1: you when your breasts think when your life stink. You know,
- 41:46Speaker 1: you can at least be able to say that if
- 41:49Speaker 1: God can love me in spite of my mess, I
- 41:51Speaker 1: should be able to have more patience and compassion with
- 41:54Speaker 1: other people and give them what God gives me every day.
- 42:00Speaker 1: Be the call. Yeah, yeah, I'm just trying to make
- 42:05Speaker 1: I'm just trying to make up for that singing. I'm
- 42:06Speaker 1: just trying to make up you're doing that. Overall it
- 42:12Speaker 1: sounds like classic Kirk Franklin. What we've come to love
- 42:15Speaker 1: about Kirk Franklin and your music. Well, thank you, thank
- 42:19Speaker 1: you, you you know, and and and you know, I'm just
- 42:21Speaker 1: the first one just to need a grace man. And
- 42:23Speaker 1: and I'm just trying to do songs on the album.
- 42:26Speaker 1: They're just trying to point people upward because I got
- 42:29Speaker 1: to touch her in prison right now. You know, I
- 42:31Speaker 1: have a biological father that I never knew, never liked,
- 42:34Speaker 1: that gave it for adoption, and I got a call
- 42:36Speaker 1: that he was down of cancer, and I had to
- 42:38Speaker 1: dig out how to forgive. And even more than man,
- 42:40Speaker 1: I don't know, I have another family member. Not too
- 42:43Speaker 1: long ago, I had to drive down the rehab I
- 42:45Speaker 1: didn't have my team drive him. I put him on
- 42:47Speaker 1: the plane and rented a car and we drove to
- 42:50Speaker 1: a city on that skip of town and put my
- 42:52Speaker 1: put somebody I loved in rehab. So it's like I'm
- 42:55Speaker 1: living real life issues every day and i just want
- 42:58Speaker 1: people to know that this is what they saw come from.
- 43:00Speaker 1: I'm not writing songs on the beach sipping my ties.
- 43:03Speaker 1: I'm in the middle of the struggle with you, knowing
- 43:06Speaker 1: that knowing that what God did for me, he can
- 43:08Speaker 1: do for you. And that's why you don't need to sing, Kirk,
- 43:11Speaker 1: because you still get your message across. You know what
- 43:13Speaker 1: I'm saying. Yeah, you still have your story and what
- 43:17Speaker 1: I love. You're still the host of Sunday Best on
- 43:20Speaker 1: BA I love that show. I love it, love it,
- 43:23Speaker 1: love it, and it's returning for a ninth season. Kurt's
- 43:27Speaker 1: new album, Long Live Love is available right now. You
- 43:31Speaker 1: can find out about his tour dates, kicks off in Austin,
- 43:35Speaker 1: Texas on July eleven. Kirk Franklin dot com is where
- 43:38Speaker 1: you can find out information. Kirk Franklin, we love it.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Thank you, Kirk Franklin. You know we love you. Nephew
- 43:46Speaker 1: Tommy is up next with the frank phone call. That's
- 43:49Speaker 1: all coming up right after this. You're listening to the
- 43:52Speaker 1: stew coming up at the top of the hour. Right
- 43:57Speaker 1: about four minutes after. It's today's Strawberry letter. The sub checked,
- 44:00Speaker 1: my husband is an embarrassing butthead. Hey, we all heard that,
- 44:09Speaker 1: I love this. My husband is an embarrassing butthead. But
- 44:14Speaker 1: right now, the nephew is here with today's frank phone call.
- 44:17Speaker 1: What you got now? We are going to garnish your wages?
- 44:23Speaker 1: Garnish your wages? Ever had your wages garnish? Yep? I
- 44:29Speaker 1: used to think that was like garnish was putting something
- 44:32Speaker 1: on it, like man, Yeah, they put some on it.
- 44:36Speaker 1: It'd be garnish. Yeah, deduction on it. It'd be something
- 44:41Speaker 1: on your check. It's called deduction. Your check don't look
- 44:44Speaker 1: the same. It's shocking too. Do they take all over
- 44:49Speaker 1: the dog or just someone now? They get whatever they want.
- 44:53Speaker 1: They may leave you something. Everybody's behind this break yes,
- 44:58Speaker 1: or you try to hear them getting on there that
- 45:00Speaker 1: money after you get garnish. Yeah, all right, kay, let's
- 45:04Speaker 1: write it garnish. Waits Hello, I'm trying to reach a
- 45:08Speaker 1: place my name is Uh from the District Attorney's office. Yes, Hi,
- 45:14Speaker 1: how are you giving you a call today, ma'am? Trying
- 45:16Speaker 1: to get some updates from you. Your husband, mister is
- 45:20Speaker 1: he uh still not working at this point? No, sir? Okay?
- 45:25Speaker 1: How long has he been out of work so far? Ma'am?
- 45:27Speaker 1: Could you could you give me an update on this January? Okay?
- 45:32Speaker 1: All right, here's what we're having. The problems that we're having.
- 45:35Speaker 1: You have a son, I think it's his name is
- 45:39Speaker 1: as well, fourteen years old? Am I right? Okay? The
- 45:43Speaker 1: child support is not being paid for from mister for
- 45:48Speaker 1: the for mister young and then we're trying to get
- 45:51Speaker 1: this thing rectified. Now. The problem that we're going to
- 45:53Speaker 1: have in the reason why we're giving you a call
- 45:55Speaker 1: is considering that your husband hasn't worked since the first
- 45:58Speaker 1: of the year. And I haven't done the research yet.
- 46:00Speaker 1: I'm just I'm just not pulling up your file. I
- 46:03Speaker 1: haven't done the research to see how many months in
- 46:05Speaker 1: the rears he is on child support. But it just
- 46:09Speaker 1: started once, um, he lost his child. Okay, Well, the
- 46:13Speaker 1: problem that we're going to have is they're gonna start
- 46:16Speaker 1: taking uh child support actually, and I hate to give
- 46:21Speaker 1: you this news out of your check until I don't
- 46:24Speaker 1: understand how that self, because I have my own kids.
- 46:26Speaker 1: I understand that. I understand. But they're gonna be garnishing
- 46:29Speaker 1: your check, ma'am, until this until your husband can get
- 46:32Speaker 1: this thing back on his feet and get it rectified
- 46:34Speaker 1: and get him up to parts four of all the
- 46:36Speaker 1: payments that are hurt that are not and when will
- 46:38Speaker 1: this be taking place? Because if that's the case, I'm
- 46:40Speaker 1: not gonna be working because that's not gonna happen. I
- 46:43Speaker 1: have my own children, so I don't understand how that's
- 46:46Speaker 1: for self. I don't don't have anything to do with
- 46:48Speaker 1: child for it or anything like that. And if that's
- 46:50Speaker 1: the case, I'm not gonna be working as right now.
- 46:53Speaker 1: The garnishing of the check is gonna come from you.
- 46:55Speaker 1: And you are at the hospital, correct now, that's not
- 46:58Speaker 1: it's not where you work. I'm not gonna be working
- 47:00Speaker 1: as a right now. That's what I just teld you.
- 47:03Speaker 1: So y'all do whatever you have to do, and I
- 47:05Speaker 1: do whatever I have to do on my end. Okay,
- 47:06Speaker 1: well hold on it. You're willing to quit your job,
- 47:09Speaker 1: I'm not understanding this. You're sure white because I'm not
- 47:12Speaker 1: gonna be taking care of someone else's kids and I
- 47:14Speaker 1: have my own, So how that's right? So somebody else
- 47:17Speaker 1: can take care of my eyes then, because I'm not
- 47:19Speaker 1: gonna be doing it, you're so right? All right? Well,
- 47:21Speaker 1: I mean I'm just saying, you know, don't I don't
- 47:22Speaker 1: want you to be upset with you. I don't want
- 47:24Speaker 1: you to be upset with me. I can be able
- 47:26Speaker 1: to contact you, Okay. You know I'm gonna I'm gonna
- 47:30Speaker 1: let you know this. It's a bit of information. You're
- 47:32Speaker 1: still gonna if you're quitting your job. Man, you guys
- 47:35Speaker 1: are still gonna be liable for the child's support. Okay,
- 47:38Speaker 1: well that's fine, not you guys, because it's not my children.
- 47:41Speaker 1: Say okay, it's not you guys. He will be liable, Okay,
- 47:47Speaker 1: because I don't, I mean, can't I stept you hold
- 47:49Speaker 1: one moment because I need to stemp outside if that's okay,
- 47:52Speaker 1: or if there's a number I can contact you back. Okay,
- 47:54Speaker 1: are you able to step outside right now? Um? Yes,
- 47:57Speaker 1: but I'm gonna get on the elevator and it's gonna conma,
- 48:00Speaker 1: so call Okay, let's do this. Why don't you step outside.
- 48:03Speaker 1: I'll wait for you to call. Give me about forty
- 48:06Speaker 1: five seconds, but I'm gonna give a call to my
- 48:07Speaker 1: manager on this situation. Okay, please do all right, thank you? Hello, okay, missus, Yes, sir,
- 48:17Speaker 1: all right again from the District Attorney's office. Okay, you
- 48:20Speaker 1: can hear me now, yes, I can. Can you hear me? Yes, ma'am,
- 48:23Speaker 1: I sure can. Now, let's get to the bottom of everything.
- 48:25Speaker 1: I couldn't get my manager on the phone, but I'll
- 48:28Speaker 1: keep trying. I just want to know. I mean, that's
- 48:31Speaker 1: I'm just a messenger letting you know. I know you
- 48:34Speaker 1: are and I hate to be so short with you,
- 48:36Speaker 1: but I don't understand because we're not even getting enough.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Ain't come coming in as of right now. And you're
- 48:42Speaker 1: speaking of I have three children that I'm struggling to
- 48:45Speaker 1: take care of, all my owners trying somebody from the district.
- 48:50Speaker 1: But and you're speaking of that she's going to be
- 48:53Speaker 1: deducting money fro I'm gonna share my check for his
- 48:55Speaker 1: last worth. What's your something? What's your name? And who
- 49:00Speaker 1: is there someone else I need to speak with? No,
- 49:03Speaker 1: we're on the phone. I have that's my sister taking
- 49:05Speaker 1: care of b we're probat of District Attorney County. Ma'am. Yeah,

- 49:20Speaker 1: Let me speak with your sister. Man, So what do
- 49:23Speaker 1: you I mean, how is this going to be done?
- 49:25Speaker 1: Because that's not gonna leave me to cast to be
- 49:27Speaker 1: able to support my own kids. Well, John, I mean
- 49:29Speaker 1: in my own home. I understand that. You know, maybe
- 49:33Speaker 1: this is a problem with having a person hanging around.
- 49:36Speaker 1: Not a person because has raised the seat about his
- 49:38Speaker 1: kids all their life. This is a jealous mother that
- 49:42Speaker 1: decided optim eighteen years that she wanted to go around
- 49:51Speaker 1: sessions because that's the support order. That's my support order for.
- 49:55Speaker 1: What in the hell is going on with those people
- 49:57Speaker 1: in the background? Hello this nephew. Time it didn't hit
- 50:02Speaker 1: the fan. No, I couldn't get to go out, but

- 50:08Speaker 1: her get off the phones. I need you to call

- 50:49Speaker 1: You got my noveland's something for your job? Who is
- 50:59Speaker 1: this nephew? Timing from the Steve Harvey Morning. Yo, ya
- 51:03Speaker 1: just got Frank Bob baby beause y're calling the footage?
- 51:28Speaker 1: Well you just found that. Give me a black male
- 51:35Speaker 1: all out. I gotta ask, I gotta ask all y'all something.
- 51:41Speaker 1: What is the baddest radio show in the land? And
- 51:50Speaker 1: there it is, ladies and gentlemen, Franks again. We're all
- 51:57Speaker 1: shut the room down with that one. Look, tell yall something.
- 52:00Speaker 1: Let me tell youall something. As fast weekend, my youngest son, Jordan,
- 52:04Speaker 1: we had his birthday. He turned eight years old. That's
- 52:10Speaker 1: birthday party in the backyard. And when the little kids asked,
- 52:13Speaker 1: what did your daddy do? He play on the phone?
- 52:16Speaker 1: What why did you tell him that he played on
- 52:19Speaker 1: the phone, that his friend. Yeah, that's my dad plays
- 52:28Speaker 1: on the phone. See where you hearing this, Tommy, Tommy, Yeah,
- 52:35Speaker 1: I mean that's that's exactly what you do. Jordan's right,
- 52:41Speaker 1: his daddy play on the phone. You know what many
- 52:42Speaker 1: times people have told you you played too, damn every day,
- 52:47Speaker 1: Jordan eight And then I already figured out my daddy
- 52:50Speaker 1: play on the phone. Somebody gonna hurt my dad. I
- 52:53Speaker 1: don't known him too because I love my father. But
- 52:55Speaker 1: somebody's gonna hurt my daddy, then I'm gonna have to
- 52:57Speaker 1: grow up his secret revenge. Goodness? All right, thank you, nephew.
- 53:03Speaker 1: Up next, it is my Strawberry letter for today. The
- 53:06Speaker 1: subject my husband is an embarrassing butthead we'll get into
- 53:11Speaker 1: it right after this. You're listening to the Steve Harvey

- 53:18Speaker 1: If you need advice on relationships, on dating, sex, work, parenting,
- 53:22Speaker 1: and more, please submit your Strawberry letter to Steve Harvey
- 53:26Speaker 1: FM and click submit Strawberry Letter. We could be reading
- 53:30Speaker 1: your letter live on the air, just like we're gonna
- 53:32Speaker 1: do this one right here today. Huh. Buggle up, hold
- 53:36Speaker 1: on tight, We got it for you. Here it is.
- 53:38Speaker 1: It's the Strawberry Letter. Thank you, nephew. Subject my husband
- 53:41Speaker 1: is an embarrassing butt head. Dear Stephen Shirley. My husband
- 53:46Speaker 1: likes acts like an absolute child at times, and I
- 53:50Speaker 1: can't deal with it. It's like having a third child
- 53:53Speaker 1: and I am so tired of him embarrassing me. The
- 53:56Speaker 1: most recent incident went down over the weekend at my
- 53:59Speaker 1: pastor house. We were invited to a barbecue and the
- 54:03Speaker 1: pastor was a little late because of a wedding he
- 54:05Speaker 1: had to do. There was plenty of food on the
- 54:07Speaker 1: grill and we always let the elders of the church
- 54:10Speaker 1: eat first. The first lady fixed the pastor a plate
- 54:14Speaker 1: and sat it to the side and covered it with
- 54:16Speaker 1: saran wrap. When it came time for my husband and
- 54:19Speaker 1: I to fix a plate, only chicken legs, wieners, and
- 54:23Speaker 1: burgers were left. My husband began to whine about not
- 54:26Speaker 1: getting the pieces of chicken that he wanted, so he
- 54:30Speaker 1: went on a hunt for more chicken. He asked several
- 54:33Speaker 1: people if they would eat a leg in exchange for
- 54:36Speaker 1: a thigh or breast that was on their place. I
- 54:39Speaker 1: was so embarrassed. But what he did next was a shocker.
- 54:44Speaker 1: Was the shocker his ignorant up. One of the mothers
- 54:48Speaker 1: of the church told him that he could not do that,
- 54:51Speaker 1: and his reply was, I got my belongings and told
- 54:55Speaker 1: him we needed to leave. Needless to say, I am
- 54:59Speaker 1: going to be thus center of gossip at the church. Now.
- 55:02Speaker 1: My husband does things like this all of the time.
- 55:05Speaker 1: Everything has to go his way or he starts complaining
- 55:09Speaker 1: and whining. How can I get him to see that
- 55:11Speaker 1: it's not all about him? I am sick of him
- 55:14Speaker 1: embarrassing me. Please help. Oh I'm embarrassed for you, I
- 55:21Speaker 1: really am. This is crazy, This is really stupid. I mean,
- 55:24Speaker 1: your husband, it has to be the rudest person ever.
- 55:27Speaker 1: He's disrespectful to everyone, including your pastor. How dare he
- 55:32Speaker 1: go to the pastor's plate that's set aside and go
- 55:35Speaker 1: in there and get the pastor's food or anyone's food
- 55:38Speaker 1: for that matter. But most of all the pastor. Your
- 55:40Speaker 1: husband's selfish. He's inconsiderate of you, his wife and I
- 55:46Speaker 1: think you're absolutely right. He is an embarrassing butt head,
- 55:49Speaker 1: and you have every right to be upset and to
- 55:52Speaker 1: get your things and leave. And yes, you will be
- 55:54Speaker 1: the subject of gossip. The problem is, what are you
- 55:59Speaker 1: going to do about this? I mean, have you talked
- 56:01Speaker 1: to your husband about it? Does he know how you
- 56:04Speaker 1: feel and what you want and what you don't want
- 56:07Speaker 1: him to do? I mean, I'm guessing you have talked
- 56:09Speaker 1: to him about it, but he's not hearing you. He's
- 56:13Speaker 1: not paying any attention to you, and selfish people often
- 56:17Speaker 1: don't because, like you said, it's it's always about them.
- 56:21Speaker 1: So you're gonna have to do something else to get
- 56:23Speaker 1: his attention to make him hear you. I don't know
- 56:26Speaker 1: if that means leaving him or if that means threatening
- 56:29Speaker 1: to leave him. It depends on whether he straightens up
- 56:33Speaker 1: and stops doing stupid stuff after you have some sort
- 56:37Speaker 1: of com serious conversation with him. Because he's out of control.
- 56:41Speaker 1: He's so out of order, so rude and disrespectful. This
- 56:44Speaker 1: is crazy and what was chicken legs are okay? And
- 56:49Speaker 1: burgers and wieners. You're not at home, You're at somebody
- 56:52Speaker 1: else's house. Steve were your manners. Steve, I don't get this,
- 56:58Speaker 1: I really really don't. I'm confused. How old is this too?
- 57:03Speaker 1: But now if y'all at a church function, and y'all
- 57:05Speaker 1: at elders in all this, I'm assuming he's of age.
- 57:09Speaker 1: He's not sixteen, but sixteen year old people wouldn't do that.
- 57:13Speaker 1: Your husband is a child at times, and you can't
- 57:16Speaker 1: deal with it. He didn't just start being a child.
- 57:21Speaker 1: He'd been childished the whole time. It's just you've overlooked it.
- 57:26Speaker 1: Now you've married him, and he ain't got to act
- 57:28Speaker 1: a certain way. No, most so, now he'd do it
- 57:30Speaker 1: all the time. Okay, this weekend you went over to
- 57:33Speaker 1: your pastors. We were invited to a barbecue. You got
- 57:39Speaker 1: invited to your pastor's house. Pastor was a little bit
- 57:43Speaker 1: late because he had a word to do. You got over,
- 57:46Speaker 1: there was a lot to eat. You had food all
- 57:49Speaker 1: on the grill. Now, y'all's church. What y'all do is
- 57:52Speaker 1: y'all let the elders of the church eat first. Just
- 57:56Speaker 1: you know, sometimes it's respectful thing to do. But the
- 58:03Speaker 1: first lady, now, the first lady, fool case he don't know,
- 58:08Speaker 1: is the wife of the pastor. Now she know her
- 58:12Speaker 1: husband late because he working. He fixed the pastor a plate,
- 58:18Speaker 1: set it to the side, coven ince around wrap. Then
- 58:22Speaker 1: when you came time for y'all to fix the play
- 58:24Speaker 1: because he'd low down on the total pot because he
- 58:26Speaker 1: don't come to church much. Now he now he went out. Now, hey,
- 58:31Speaker 1: all at the back quiet and eight rusher board than
- 58:34Speaker 1: eight deacons did the eight parking lot ministry of eight
- 58:39Speaker 1: role committed in eight baptism committed in eight Senior Citizens
- 58:45Speaker 1: Quad and eighth the joy Landers, the Baby Quad and
- 58:48Speaker 1: eighth everybody in line, the damn Male Quartet, the Singing
- 58:54Speaker 1: Sensationals Data and eight with their name the Singing Sensation
- 58:59Speaker 1: Data eight. They big ass, all them big. So when
- 59:04Speaker 1: you get up there, it's time for y'all to fix
- 59:07Speaker 1: the plate. Ain't nothing but chicken, legs, wings and burger's left.
- 59:11Speaker 1: Your husband's all wine ain't because he didn't get the
- 59:14Speaker 1: piece of chicken. He wanted, Well, your ass don't come
- 59:17Speaker 1: to church enough to get the damn piece. You won't,
- 59:21Speaker 1: so he went on a hunt from old chicken. But
- 59:24Speaker 1: he walked around asking people if they would either leg
- 59:27Speaker 1: in exchange for the thigh or breast that was on
- 59:30Speaker 1: their plate. Hook on the people, place on the eight man,
- 59:32Speaker 1: you want the leg right here? So I had that
- 59:35Speaker 1: thigh or that or that or that breath, I got
- 59:38Speaker 1: a leg. Who wanted the leg? Y'all that? Damn you stupid.
- 59:43Speaker 1: But when I come back, let me tell you how
- 59:45Speaker 1: ignorant he is. I want to hear it, all right.
- 59:49Speaker 1: Part two of Steve's response coming up at twenty three
- 59:52Speaker 1: after the hour, Today's Strawberry Letters, subject my husband is
- 59:56Speaker 1: an embarrassing butt head. We'll get back into it right
- 1:00:00Speaker 1: after this. You're listening, all right, Steve, Let's recap today's
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: Strawberry Letters, subject to my husband is an embarrassing butt head. Listen.
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: Man went over to the passages, how they got invited
- 1:00:16Speaker 1: to the barbecue this damn food. Went over here with
- 1:00:19Speaker 1: his wife to pass a little late. The pastor's wife
- 1:00:22Speaker 1: made him a plate, put it on the sad rap
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: because he late. He out there doing church work. He
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: savors saving hoods. When the play the food, No listen
- 1:00:32Speaker 1: by time, human, isn't no church going, ass get up.
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: There ain't nothing on the ain't nothing leveling legs, wieners
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: and burgers. He whining because he didn't get the chicken.
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: He won't, so he went on a hunt round for
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: more chicken, went around the backyard asking people who to
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: fix their play. Black people don't take food, don't they
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: play in hand to teach you no. Now he got
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: a leg on a trade or thigh for breast for
- 1:00:58Speaker 1: one of these little raggedy lives. This lady, I'm so embarrassed.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: But what he did next was the SHOCKA this food
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: went over to the pastor's plate that's wrapped in suran.
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: Rapp got the two barbecue thighs that was on that
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: and then wrapped the plate back up. One of the
- 1:01:18Speaker 1: mothers of church sold him he couldn't do that. His
- 1:01:20Speaker 1: plly was pastors should have been here and it would
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: be cold by the time he get anyway, Hold up, man,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: let me talk to you a little bit, pardoner. Pastor
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: him invited you over the house, this pastor house here,
- 1:01:34Speaker 1: the man of this house. See, I don't know where
- 1:01:36Speaker 1: you You obviously ain't had no daddy, because your daddy
- 1:01:39Speaker 1: would have knocked your ass out for doing that. But
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: you ain't got no daddy, so you stupid, so you
- 1:01:46Speaker 1: over another man's house, then unwrapped a plate that his
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: wife fixed for him, and now you claiming it as yours.
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Then one of the ladies see you and tell you
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: can't do that, And then your pastors should have been here,
- 1:01:58Speaker 1: pastor at work. This passed the house. He ain't got
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: to come here to fit in this way. He lived
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: right right. It'll be cold by the time he get here, anyway.
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: Are you serious? First of all, you're walking around quinting
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: about it. You didn't get that piece of chicken you
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: want it. You didn't pay for this. This wasn't a
- 1:02:18Speaker 1: paid barbecue, pottna. This wasn't invite potna. Somebody invited your
- 1:02:25Speaker 1: monks ass over here. You eating free. You ain't bought
- 1:02:29Speaker 1: no chicken. This ain't the buffet a sizzless your ass
- 1:02:34Speaker 1: just eating just this ain't the buffet a sizzless pottna. Well,
- 1:02:42Speaker 1: you can go back up to the counter. Tell my hey,
- 1:02:44Speaker 1: y'all all out of baby backs now, I don't pay
- 1:02:46Speaker 1: just stept ninety five is all you can eat. Ain't
- 1:02:48Speaker 1: no more damn baby back. I came in here for
- 1:02:50Speaker 1: the baby back you've got in free. Yeah, this is crazy.
- 1:02:55Speaker 1: Now you sitting up in here telling the pass should
- 1:02:57Speaker 1: have been here now the ladies said, almost passed out,
- 1:03:00Speaker 1: got my belongers. I told him we need to leave.
- 1:03:02Speaker 1: Needless to say, I'm gonna be the center of gossip
- 1:03:06Speaker 1: at the church tomorrow. Yes you will, because your husband's stupid.
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: Your husband's stupid. He ain't no real but that ain't
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: what men do. My husband does things like this all
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: the time. Everything has to go his way or he
- 1:03:22Speaker 1: started complaining and wine, So you know what your husband
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: really need? Your husband really need his ass with one
- 1:03:28Speaker 1: good time for taking somebody's chicken. Don't want to ask
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: for wine and ought to be another asshole. Yes, and
- 1:03:38Speaker 1: then you know how he don't know that you at
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: another man's house. You can't make rules at another man's house, partner,
- 1:03:47Speaker 1: it's free, you didn't pay, and you can't have everything
- 1:03:50Speaker 1: you want in life. So what you got the legs?
- 1:03:53Speaker 1: Legs taste just like breast. It's just a different bite,
- 1:03:58Speaker 1: that's all it is. It's same dog me, it's just
- 1:04:00Speaker 1: a different bite. Everything hasn't go his way. He wanted
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: to start complain of wine. How can I get him
- 1:04:07Speaker 1: to see that it's not always about him? He'd been
- 1:04:09Speaker 1: thinking it's about him. I am sick of him. Embarrassing me.
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: Please help in the words, I don't know who are
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: here to say this all the time for BAFFLICI ve
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: leave his ass for a while until he learned how
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: to act right. You're married to a fool. This man
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: is not embarrassing. He's foolish. Who goes around the barbecue
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: asking for food off people's plate because you didn't get
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: what on your plate you wanted to? Who do that?
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: Who go in another man's house that he lives in,
- 1:04:49Speaker 1: that his wife had made a plateful? You unwrapid so
- 1:04:53Speaker 1: you can eat what's on his plate, and then you
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: say passing should have been here. It's gonna be cold
- 1:04:57Speaker 1: by the time again, old love man, this man's house, Yeah,
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: this pastor should walk up in there? Whoop your ass?
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: What pastor order do do you look at? That's that's
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: why ever I become on Steve, you missed your calling.
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: I ain't never been called to the minister. I'm gonna
- 1:05:11Speaker 1: tell y'all, I grew up in the church. My mom
- 1:05:13Speaker 1: will tell you ain't being called. But if I was
- 1:05:16Speaker 1: to be called, this is one of the reasons why
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I don't think I'm called, Because as a pastor, I
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: don't see no reason why he can't get his ass
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: right now, he said, in my house and my wife
- 1:05:30Speaker 1: tells me I come in the back. Y'all. Mar To said, baby,
- 1:05:32Speaker 1: I had you played, but this man ate it? Wait? Holder?
- 1:05:36Speaker 1: What man? Wait? Maun holder? Baby, you made me a
- 1:05:40Speaker 1: play and another man ain't? Who? What man? Ain't my podcast?
- 1:05:43Speaker 1: Did he know it was my plain? Yeah? He said,
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: you took too long getting in. He was gonna be cold.
- 1:05:49Speaker 1: I'm gonna tell you, but if you punch a man
- 1:05:52Speaker 1: in the stomach real hard, he thought, cold chicken. All right, listen,
- 1:05:59Speaker 1: you can post your thoughts on today's Strawberry Letter at
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: Steve Harvey FM. I'm sure you'll have a lot to
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: say about this one, or you can check out the
- 1:06:06Speaker 1: Strawberry Letter podcast on demand now coming up at forty
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: six after the hours. Sephora is closing all of its
- 1:06:13Speaker 1: stores for diversity training, thank god. And then meek Mill
- 1:06:19Speaker 1: accepts Cosmopolitan Hotel's apology. We'll talk about both of those
- 1:06:23Speaker 1: right after this. You're listening to show, all right, this
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: story is really for the ladies and makeup artists and things. Sephorah,
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: we'll temporarily close its stores company wide for diversity training.
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: This is after singer Sizza call them out for racial profiling.
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: As you might recall, several weeks ago, Sissa took to
- 1:06:46Speaker 1: Twitter to claim Sandy Sephora in Calabasas, California call security
- 1:06:51Speaker 1: to make sure she wasn't stealing. Then she said, can
- 1:06:55Speaker 1: a B word cop her fenty in peace or what?
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: That's what he tweet is, Wow, she's just trying to
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: buy some Rihanna make Yeah. And I right, I understand
- 1:07:04Speaker 1: because that's when I was wearing Finty. I mean, I
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: love Finty and I was getting it right there at Sephora. Now,
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Sephora is taking action. According to their official statement, on
- 1:07:14Speaker 1: the morning of June fifth, which is tomorrow, right every
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: Sepphora store, distribution center, and corporate office in the US
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: in the entire country will close to host inclusion workshops
- 1:07:27Speaker 1: for our employees. These values have always been at the
- 1:07:31Speaker 1: heart of Sepphora, and we're excited to welcome everyone when
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: we reopened. Join us in our commitment to a more
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: inclusive beauty community. What did they do to the lady?
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: I don't understand. They called the police to say they
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: were racial profiling, to say she was stealing. Yeah. Yeah.
- 1:07:50Speaker 1: And then in other trending news, Steve the Cosmopolitan Hotel
- 1:07:54Speaker 1: in Vegas has issued an apology to meet Mill. You know,
- 1:08:00Speaker 1: Mike Mill accused them of being racist as hell it ain't.
- 1:08:04Speaker 1: Meek was apparently told he would be arrested for trespassing
- 1:08:08Speaker 1: if he entered the hotel. The hotel issued an apology
- 1:08:12Speaker 1: for the May twenty fifth incident, saying they did not
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: act in a respectful manner and we're wrong. Meek's legal
- 1:08:19Speaker 1: team released a statement, we appreciate the cosmopolitans apology and
- 1:08:23Speaker 1: will no longer pursue legal recourse at this time. Yeah,
- 1:08:28Speaker 1: because I don't want to boycott Vegas. I'm just gonna
- 1:08:31Speaker 1: say this. Yeah, because every time we go now, I'm
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: just want to just put mine in right now. Don't
- 1:08:36Speaker 1: ask me not to do. I asked me. You know,
- 1:08:40Speaker 1: I'm struggling with the Gucci boycott. I don't know what
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: the hell going on. I don't know if it's oval.
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: I had with your pants on and I walked down
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: the steps the other day and I ain't even know it.
- 1:08:50Speaker 1: My wife said, uh, stay on the internet. You ain't
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: going out of here till we hear from TATA. All right,
- 1:09:08Speaker 1: coming up at the top of the hour, good news
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Tuesday from a Stephen Marjorie mentoring program. We'll tell you
- 1:09:14Speaker 1: about that right after this. You're listening to the Steve
- 1:09:18Speaker 1: Morning Show. We have some good news to share, Steve.
- 1:09:24Speaker 1: We know that your annual boys Mentoring Camp kicks off
- 1:09:27Speaker 1: next weekend just outside of Atlanta, but we want to
- 1:09:30Speaker 1: commend you on your partnership with Bethany Christian Services. Now,
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: last month, the month of May was Foster Care Awareness Month,
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: and in honor of that, you teamed up with Bethany
- 1:09:41Speaker 1: Christian Services to bring thirty boys from foster care to
- 1:09:45Speaker 1: this year's mentoring camp. Yes, that is wonderful, Steve, it
- 1:09:51Speaker 1: really is. Uh And just a little background on Bethany
- 1:09:54Speaker 1: Christian Services. Since nineteen forty four, Bethany has grown and
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: developed in to the premier adoption agency and social services
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: agency that serves and supports expectant parents, foster families, individuals
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: and families in need of counseling. So, Steve, I got
- 1:10:11Speaker 1: to ask you this, why do you mentor and why
- 1:10:14Speaker 1: is this so important to you? And again, congratulations on
- 1:10:18Speaker 1: It's all about changing boys lives. It's all about taking
- 1:10:22Speaker 1: a young man who doesn't have an active father in
- 1:10:25Speaker 1: his life and giving them some type of real male
- 1:10:28Speaker 1: role model leadership that they can look up to, that
- 1:10:31Speaker 1: they can call, that they can text, that they can
- 1:10:34Speaker 1: have some communication with to help answer some of the
- 1:10:36Speaker 1: questions that the mothers don't have answers to. It's just
- 1:10:40Speaker 1: helping these single mom raise these boys. And the program
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: is hugely successful. And I learn to thank the Bethany
- 1:10:47Speaker 1: Program for Foster Kids for bringing these boys down. You know,
- 1:10:52Speaker 1: we're gonna do them our level best withstandings, and you know,
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: it's like it's so much happens. I've got a great
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: story coming up this uh this ministering camp. The closing
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: remarks are going to be the minister that's preaching the
- 1:11:09Speaker 1: sermon was a boy that was at my camp eight
- 1:11:12Speaker 1: years ago. Wow, he got his calling to the ministry.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: While he was at camp. He came up to me
- 1:11:20Speaker 1: at at Richard and Tina Tina's uh wearable our game
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: on Friday, I mean Saturday, and came to that thing
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: and walked up to me him and his mother said,
- 1:11:36Speaker 1: you don't know, you changed my son's life. Wow, he
- 1:11:39Speaker 1: got his call into the ministry eight years ago. He's
- 1:11:42Speaker 1: preaching the closing sermon next Sunday at the boys camp
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: on Father's Day. Congratulate. It's just so many lives, man,
- 1:11:52Speaker 1: that we've changed. You know, That's what I'm really about,
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: you know, people, you know, look, whatever you want to say,
- 1:12:00Speaker 1: what I really committed to. It just it's a work
- 1:12:04Speaker 1: that has to speak for itself. I'm not I'm not
- 1:12:07Speaker 1: going to toot my horn. I'm just gonna say this.
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: My work should speak for itself because I put it in.
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: When it comes to these boys and these girls, you're
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: doing You've been doing it for a long time since
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: I've known you. And listen. If you want more information,

- 1:12:47Speaker 1: gonna have a good time. Look, there's always a couple
- 1:12:49Speaker 1: of problems when we get there. Yeah, some boys just
- 1:12:52Speaker 1: don't want to be there. My mama made me come.
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: I don't want this, y'all to quit talking to me.

- 1:13:31Speaker 1: that you do. This is gonna be great. Thank you.

- 1:18:51Speaker 1: Steve Harvey, ninety nine dollars specially who here you go.
- 1:18:54Speaker 1: All right, we'll be back with our last break of
- 1:18:57Speaker 1: the day, and you're closing remarks at forty mine after
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: the hour right after this, you're listening, all right, Steve.
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: Here we are last break of the day, and of
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: course it is time for you to leave us. With
- 1:19:11Speaker 1: some closing remarks. I want to give you some encouragement
- 1:19:16Speaker 1: on your road to success. I've often said a million
- 1:19:20Speaker 1: times that the road to success is always under construction,
- 1:19:24Speaker 1: that you can expect the pitfalls, to set backs, the detools,
- 1:19:29Speaker 1: the working men at work, so forth, and so on.
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: But what I want to remind you of is that
- 1:19:37Speaker 1: you can win if you can fight through the clutter.
- 1:19:42Speaker 1: And one of the best ways that I can give
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: you to fight through the clutter you have to have
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: a relationship with God. I mean, it's just really the
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: best way to fight through the clutter because you really
- 1:19:58Speaker 1: don't know how exactly to become successful. You really don't
- 1:20:05Speaker 1: know exactly how I mean. And the reason I know
- 1:20:09Speaker 1: you don't know exactly how it is because you've probably
- 1:20:11Speaker 1: aimed for something that in order to achieve it you
- 1:20:16Speaker 1: really do need God's help. So it's nothing wrong when
- 1:20:21Speaker 1: you don't know exactly how you're going to make it,
- 1:20:26Speaker 1: because what that means is you've aspired to something so
- 1:20:30Speaker 1: great that in order for it to happen, you absolutely
- 1:20:33Speaker 1: have to have God's help. That's where you want to be.
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: You want to be on a mission that keeps you
- 1:20:39Speaker 1: awake at night. You want to be on a mission
- 1:20:42Speaker 1: man that makes you wake up early. You want to
- 1:20:46Speaker 1: be on a mission that requires you to pray constantly.
- 1:20:50Speaker 1: You want to be on a mission man, where you
- 1:20:53Speaker 1: seek the advice and help of other people. That's in
- 1:20:56Speaker 1: a higher position. You want to be on a mission
- 1:20:59Speaker 1: where not achieving it becomes absolutely unacceptable. But to get there,
- 1:21:06Speaker 1: you got to fight through the clutter. And the biggest
- 1:21:10Speaker 1: form of clutter in your mind is the actual figuring
- 1:21:14Speaker 1: it out. Can you remember back on how many times
- 1:21:19Speaker 1: you've tried to figure something out your life? Your next move,
- 1:21:23Speaker 1: who to call, who to talk to, whether to try
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: to sell them, how to sell them, what to buy,
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: how to buy? If you go back over all your
- 1:21:31Speaker 1: life of you figuring out my next move? Should I
- 1:21:34Speaker 1: go to school? Should I not go to school? Should
- 1:21:36Speaker 1: I get a degree in this? Should I not get
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: a degree in this? Should I apply for that job
- 1:21:40Speaker 1: or this job? Should I go over here because they
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: pay a little bit more, but justn't has better stability?
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: I don't know, but you've constantly been trying to work
- 1:21:48Speaker 1: that out. That's exhausting and it keeps your mind cluttered.
- 1:21:52Speaker 1: I was reading in my daily meditation, how when you
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: clutter your mind up with the how to you remove
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: God's presence in your life? Because He's always hovering and
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: standing close by to come in and comfort you and
- 1:22:06Speaker 1: be beside you and help you make these decisions. But
- 1:22:08Speaker 1: if you never invite him in, if you never invite
- 1:22:12Speaker 1: him to make the decisions, if you never allow his
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: presence to come and calm you down. Man, sometimes you
- 1:22:20Speaker 1: just need calming. You know, when you could deal with
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: a lot of this stuff that you're going through a
- 1:22:25Speaker 1: lot better if you will have just a calming effect
- 1:22:29Speaker 1: or the calming effect. That's the peace you get when
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: you form a relationship with God. God calms you down
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: because you know he got your back, you know he's
- 1:22:39Speaker 1: in control, he know he got your best interests at heart,
- 1:22:42Speaker 1: you know that he's behind the scenes working on your behalf.
- 1:22:45Speaker 1: When you have that type of relationship, it cools you out.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: You can chill. You can't do anything about tomorrow, so
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: worrying about it doesn't affect it. Now, I'm not saying,
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: ain't in sitting here that you're not supposed to plan,
- 1:23:02Speaker 1: that you're not supposed to have dreams and aspirations because
- 1:23:05Speaker 1: you do. But in all my dreams of aspirations, all
- 1:23:08Speaker 1: the things I want, I've had to learn to be
- 1:23:11Speaker 1: flexible because what I want and what God has for
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: me is oftentimes two different things. But can I share
- 1:23:20Speaker 1: something with you? The thing that God has for you
- 1:23:23Speaker 1: is way better than anything anything you can possibly plan.
- 1:23:29Speaker 1: You can't figure it. The way he does. His thoughts
- 1:23:32Speaker 1: is way up there, man, His ways is way up there.
- 1:23:37Speaker 1: You can't outfigure God. God can take a very very
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: dismal situation, folks, and turn it into pure gold for you.
- 1:23:46Speaker 1: When they are aligning themselves against you. If God is
- 1:23:49Speaker 1: with you, who can be against you? So let them
- 1:23:52Speaker 1: line up. If you know you got a relationship with God,
- 1:23:55Speaker 1: and you know you're not over there by yourself, why
- 1:23:58Speaker 1: would you be afraid of someone lying up against you?
- 1:24:01Speaker 1: Let them lined up. You're talking to somebody who knows
- 1:24:04Speaker 1: it's all too well. They have lined up against me
- 1:24:08Speaker 1: in numbers. But guess what, they can't do nothing to me.
- 1:24:13Speaker 1: God don't a lie, And even if you do, do
- 1:24:17Speaker 1: it it doesn't mean it has the effect of the
- 1:24:19Speaker 1: desired effect on me that you wanted to. And so
- 1:24:23Speaker 1: that's the same thing with you. Because of this relationship
- 1:24:26Speaker 1: with God, you don't have to be in and react
- 1:24:29Speaker 1: to every time somebody don't like a picture or make
- 1:24:32Speaker 1: a bad comment or put a false falsehood out there
- 1:24:35Speaker 1: about you. You don't have to react to all of
- 1:24:38Speaker 1: that because you have peace in the relationship with God.
- 1:24:42Speaker 1: You got to form this relationship, y'all. You have to.
- 1:24:45Speaker 1: It's imperative to who you are. And the thing about
- 1:24:49Speaker 1: forming relationship, you don't have to clear with nobody. But
- 1:24:51Speaker 1: you ain't got to even tell nobody you're doing it.
- 1:24:54Speaker 1: You can show them a different you. You don't have
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: to make an admission. I'm talking to God every day
- 1:25:01Speaker 1: trying to become a better person. You ain't gotta tell
- 1:25:03Speaker 1: nobody that. Just do it. Just do it. That's all
- 1:25:07Speaker 1: you've got to do. All right, Those are my closing remarks.
- 1:25:10Speaker 1: All right, drop it, it's drop thank you, sir. Yeah,
- 1:25:17Speaker 1: needed that. Oh, can I tell y'all something really good?
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: Have yourself a great week you I'll be dogging it's
- 1:25:28Speaker 1: time to say that already. Have yourself a great week
